Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? So... doesnt clean, spin, rinse, lock and has a bad odor... not a great product, is it?

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

I have recently bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer combo and I wish I had read your reviews before doing so. I spend quite an amount of time washing, re washing, rinsing dark clothes to end up washing them by hand as the washer leaves unsightly white streaks on them. I have tried switching from hot water to cold, using very little detergent, buying clear detergent, then organic detergent, extra rinsing, etc. to no avail. Very frustrated and disappointed. I would gladly join any class action to stop Whirlpool selling these useless but expensive washers.

Whirlpool washing machine #WTW58ESVW1 - I bought this thinking Whirlpool was a good brand name. I was totally wrong. My machine is two years old and the auto sensor switch has quit working 6 times. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. Do not purchase any Whirlpool products. You will be wasting your money and time having to end up going to go out to do laundry.

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher about 2 years ago. Used it once a day for one year. The bushings already need replacing (maybe $3 to make) and it’s $270 for the part or $280 for whole motor. Do the math. Not impressed.

My refrigerator was purchased in May 2014, and died in August 2015. Before it died, it produced a very loud, rattling noise for two days. Thus, the refrigerator cost me $100/month. It does seem, upon reflection, I would have been better off buying a piece of junk for $50. It would have lasted longer. Additionally, the so-called stainless steel started rusting all over the front surface, first popping up in one spot, then another. One year old, rusty and dead. Great job Whirlpool. Buy American.

I purchased a Whirlpool cabrio mod. wtw5840bwo washing machine in Oct. of 2014. As of June 2015 I am ready to kick it to the curb. The washer works to it design and hasnt broke down but it doesnt clean our clothes. We load the machine, add the right amount of clothes and recommended detergents and 1hr later after the wash cycle is completed, the clothes still stink with the smell of daily perspiration. I went back to using our old washer that has a worn out agitator. It does a better job.

Whirlpool French Door 32 Cu. Refrigerator - Purchased refrigerator Nov 2016
Whirlpool French Door 32 Cu. Refrigerator - Purchased refrigerator Nov 2016. Never worked, never cooled. Called Sears and was told to call Whirpool. Had to then wait 1 week for repair company to send out service tech. He determined it was unrepairable. A replacement was delivered. The replacement started flooding the interior down the back, filling underneath the bottom drawer and down into the freezer (ruining everything in the freezer) and out onto the floor. Called Whirlpool and had to wait another week for a tech. They assessed the problem and left. I was told it would be fixed within the week, that theyd call when the parts arrived. 3 weeks later, no word. Called Whirlpool, the parts were on backorder with no ETA. Two weeks later the parts were expedited, after I called again crying, and a tech came out again to fix the flooding. Two weeks ago the fan started to make a very loud noise and the internal temperature started to fluctuate and finally settled between 55-60+. Everything was ruined, again. This refrigerator is defective. Whirlpools customer service is deplorable. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM WHIRLPOOL!!! They dont care that they make and sell defective crap. They dont care about how much money and time youve lost because of their defective merchandise. You have to have a service repair person come out at least 3 times before theyll even consider a replacement unless the repair tech considers it unrepairable even if it never really works or if the parts take weeks to be delivered. They DONT CARE about anything. Worst part is that I have no power or recourse. No one will help me. I was told today by the Sears Customer Relations to hire a lawyer. :( This is so wrong.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine F1 code - We have had this washing machine
Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine F1 code - We have had this washing machine for over 6 years now, and ever since our 3 year warranty time was up, the washing machine will only stop, and display the F1 code as soon as the wash cycle has completed, with 23 minutes left. To start off, with this problem, it is causing me more water, and electricity that should not have to be wasted if the machine worked properly. I called the place where I got the machine, and was told to give Whirlpool a call. I did this, and was told that there was nothing that could be done, and if I would like to schedule an appointment for a tech to come out and work on it, they could do that. YES, I would have to pay for it. Needless to say, the washer has been doing this for over 6 years, and if there is a way to get it fixed WITHOUT having to pay for the repairs, that would be wonderful.

Subject was included in our new condo less than 5 years ago. It appears that all we have to do is look at it and it falls apart. There is constantly another piece of plastic on the counter. Our experience in calling Whirlpool for service is that it is very expensive and time consuming. A refrigerator installed at the same time as the purchase had a defective ice maker which took three service calls and a final installation of a broken part by me before we were together again. 2 (two) service men recommended that if we had problems again that we do what they did. Buy Ice Cube trays!!!! What a great recommendation.

My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer
My new Whirlpool refrigerator has accumulated ice on the top of the freezer compartment from day 1. I called Whirlpool and a repair was scheduled five weeks later September 12. The repair person said he needed a part and would order a new light switch and ice door parts from Whirlpool. Ten days later he came back with a new switch and instructions to file some plastic off the ice door part so it will close properly. It only partially worked; ice stopped forming in the ice chute but still formed on the top around the light switch. The new switch is not flush with the liner and the plastic liner has a small crack starting at the switch. How Whirlpool wants to cut out a six inch square of the liner including the switch and glue in a patch. This patch would only be warrantied for the balance of my one year warranty. I find this unacceptable and will complain to the store where I purchased the refrigerator.

Then I blow out the drain with my air compressor, run water through, etc. The drain freezes up a good way down. It is a big pain in the **. I purchased a french door refrigerator in March 2013. I purchased the Gold Series because I wanted the best. I have come to the conclusion that Whirlpool does not make a refrigerator with the quality to reflect the Gold Label or any label. My ice maker system created ice dams inside the fresh food area, in the ice bin compartment and allowed water to run into the fresh food area and floor. After four repair visits, I am still dealing with occasional water running down the inside of the ice maker door and into the fresh food area. I contacted Whirlpool and tried to get the defective refrigerator replaced; however, the very rude customer service representative insisted on another repair call by A&E. They scheduled the appointment for a time different than we agreed upon, so at this point I have had to cancel this appointment. I do not know why anyone would want to buy an appliance made by Whirlpool, which includes several other brands.

First three months, the main water gasket broke. Thank you for lots of water all over the kitchen. I pulled the washer out to inspect the cause, wanted to see if it was house plumbing or dishwasher. The hose was hanging off the bottom of the machine. During the 45-minute call, I got in my car and drove to plumbing supply and applied a new hose clamp. The next day, a free service call, the repairman said it was the second one this week, Thats just what I would have done, but would not put the machine back. (void the warranty, finish work, etc...not sure how he would have serviced the machine if I did not pull it out for him). A few months later the wheels on the top shelves give way/fall off the rack, so we have those replaced. As soon as one is replaced, the other side falls off... Now, approximately 14 months into installation, the dishwasher does not work. The control panel is flashing and will not start. What a runaround with KitchenAid. We were told there was a recall on the hose clamp (we never got one). We cannot have the control panel worked on until the hose clamp is certified... That will take a week. Then we can call back... What a hassle. We bought this expensive product on good reviews. We are most disappointed. There is very little concern for making the product good. Its incredible that so much can go wrong in such a short time of limited use. Once/day... The hose clamp is just poor engineering. The rest is terrible quality and support

We purchased our Consumer Reports rated #1 best washer, seven yrs. ago with a five-yr warranty. We have had nothing but repair after repair starting in the first year. The mother board replaced twice, the entire inside had been replaced within four years. It is only a household of three, the washer looks like new! The machine is now making a noise like a freight train... We had a repairman out $95.00 just to look at it! Cost of repair $1,116.21!!!! More than what the machine is worth. The replacement parts wore out in the last 2.5 yrs, again poor design. I contacted Whirlpool during the last repair issue and demanded a full replacement. The customer service rep, as RUDE as can be, checked with her higher-ups and said they would replace it for $845.00!!! WHAT A JOKE. I could buy a new one for that! The repair person said they are one of the highest repair units and the most costly out of warranty. He had one with the same issue just two days prior. I will never buy another Whirlpool product or purchase from H&H Gregg. They sold our warranty twice losing all of our repair records! It looks like I had an extra load size dumped on me!

Purchased a Whirlpool French door in April 2020 during the pandemic for 2K. The first week of owning it my fresh vegetables froze. I lowered the factory set temperature by one degree. The next week the ice maker stopped making ice. 3 days later it started up again. The 3rd week my freezer food defrosted and the ice maker stopped making ice. Called Whirlpool And requested a refund. They said, No we will send a tech. The tech determined the control board was defective. I had to empty the entire fridge and turn it off, defrost it for 24 hours. The headache to find someone to take your food! The part took 2 weeks to get replaced. The tech said, If this doesn’t work we will have to come back and take the back off to see what the issue is. Told to defrost again for 24 hrs. The ice was so thick we did it for 48 Hrs. 1 week later ice started to form in the freezer and the ice stopped working again. Called whirlpool demanded a refund and they said no. A tech will come again. I’ve relocated my food 3x already. How many more times can I do that! Whirlpool is not concerned about their reputation at all, as I read through other reviews of situations similar to mine. Do not buy whirlpool!

I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet
I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

Our Model # WRF532SMBW refrigerator was purchased on 8/21/14. In the last several months, it has begun having problems with ice build up in the bottom of the freezer, as well as water puddling around the front legs on the floor. I called Whirlpool and they suggested it was our water line, but it does not leak onto the floor daily. They then suggested I have a serviceman come out for a $120.00 service call, plus whatever other expenses that occur. Or, I could just pay $322.00 and that would take care of the service call, parts and an additional one year warranty. We just bought this refrigerator 23 months ago and it cost $1618.92. Now I need to spend $322.00 additionally! What a rip off. Do not purchase a Whirlpool Refrigerator or any of their other appliances. I see this is a common complaint and wish I had read the reviews earlier. The appliance is only 2 years old.

Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

Every appliance Ive ever owned has been a Whirlpool product. I am on my second set of Cabrio washers and dryers. I havent had any issues with the dryers, but the washers are a different story. My first washer, bought in 2008, started throwing water and oil underneath while spinning. A service technician came out... I had to have the entire tub replaced seeing as how the bearings that went bad were in the motor/spinning assembly that was built into the tub. I moved in 2011 and needed another washer and dryer. I was told the problem had been addressed. Now Im having the same problem... the washer is so loud when spinning, you can hear it on the opposite end of the house with doors closed! Whirlpool side by side model WR5571CIDM. Unit rattles EVERY time refrigerator is opened or closed + plus every hour or so spontaneously. Rattle seems to come from the water filter area. Whirlpool serviceman says its normal for this model and calls to Whirlpool customer service say just live with it. Hard to believe Whirlpool considers this acceptable performance in a new model.

I own a top two door refrigerator cabinet with a middle drawer meat cooler and a pull-out out lower chest freezer. The ice maker is built into the door and it is a very simple to operate and stable appliance. The refrigerators space is very functional and flexible for your food storage.. We have moved it 3 times and never had a problem. It is my wifes favorite appliance and fits our needs perfectly without a lot of bells and whistles. The ice maker filter is easy to change and the ice maker itself is super reliable. The model number is WRX735SDBM00. We have been Maytag and Whirlpool appliance owners forever because of their reliability and the ease of used to clean them.

We purchased all our appliances from Flecks - there were to be rebates. Also never received them. We have had our oven for 2 years - when I set the oven on 350 it will go up to 400 degrees & the temperature on the front of the stove is 350 then it will drop down to as low as 250 & the temperature will still say its still 350. I called the company - did will do nothing. Will cost me as much to fix it as to get a new one. This a Whirlpool oven.

We purchased a brand new home with a brand new Whirlpool microwave in it. It was a combo, over the range/hood vent, model WMH1162XVB-0. Every now and again, sparks fly when preparing vegetables. Three times a repairman came to our home with no results. Each time, the problem persisted, with no improvement. On the first visit, the diagnosis was that we did not know how to properly use a microwave. It was noted that they gave us operating instructions and a personal tutorial to solve the problem. On the 2nd visit, we were instructed to buy a protective cover for our bowls when using the microwave. I asked if this would solve the problem, and was told no, but at least we wouldnt see it. This time, the random sparks happened in front of the repair man. He responded that it was the high iron content in the corn and peas that would ignite the sparks. Also, he said we needed to thaw everything before putting it in the microwave. Again, our issue was listed as consumer-use error and nothing was done.On the 3rd visit, we explained that we could not use the microwave on any setting higher than 70 for risking of sparks flying. We showed him the cover we were using, and the permanent marks being left by sparks. Again, the serviceman witnessed the sparks flying, even on thawed peas and corn that simply needed to be heated. He responded that by adjusting the power, and using the cover, we were obviously learning how to work the microwave and informed us that the next service call for this issue would be at our expense. There was nothing they would do for us, as the problem was our fault, not theirs. We explained that other neighbors with the same microwaves are not having this trouble, and we felt it was simply a faulty unit. He didnt seem to agree, nor care what we felt.I have been using microwaves daily for over 20 years. Our neighbors, having the same exact model, have had no issues at all. I know this is simply a faulty unit, and feel endangered each time I use the microwave. Whats even worse is the way Whirlpool has handled our situation. Our microwave is now 4 years old, and I have learned to rely on my toaster oven. When people visit, we have to caution them on the microwave. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliance for my home again. I do not trust the quality of their products or their service.

Six warranty visits and the fridge still doesnt work. Cools to around 44 degrees in the upper part and lower part barely freezes. We have gotten sick from food left in the fridge after two days from the grocery store. It is now approaching two months without the use of our new refrigerator. DO NOT buy a Whirlpool. Apparently there was a manufacturing defect. We are now learning that a $2,400 fridge doesnt seem to be able to be fixed by factory-trained specialists.

We purchased a Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerator with a bottom freezer in Dec 2009. We discovered a leak dripping onto the finished basement ceiling. We discovered after several attempts that the plastic evaporation tray was broken (since day one). Previous defrosting had obviously evaporated into the hardwood until now. This item, although obviously broken when installed, was not fixed as the warranty had run out.Boo to Corbiel and to Whirlpool. They are financially not worth a lawsuit.

As very happy owners of a previous model of this fridge freezer when ours needed replacing, we went direct to Whirlpool and bought the latest model. What a mistake! Other comments on this site are so accurate if only we had seen them before. A kitchen floor covered in ice mush (cubes seem out of the question) and tepid water from the water dispenser whereas on the previous model it was chilled. Basic functions that the previous model excelled at. Sadly it is also badly designed inside the fridge. We raised these issues with Whirlpool within our first year who merely said sorry you are unhappy and thanks for your comments. Be very wary of Whirlpool products and service.

Bought this washer in May of 2019: Whirlpool - Whirlpool - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 37-Cycle High-Efficiency Front-Loading Washer with Steam and Load & Go™ XL Dispenser - Chrome Shadow. Model: WFW6620HC. SKU: 6313774. Paid over $1,000.00 for it. FIRST TIME washing our sheets, we had snags & rips. I immediately called and was referred to Whirlpool and then referred to an outside repair company. They sent a technician out who said everything was functioning properly despite having ruined 3 sets of sheets (these were not all washed at the same time & I didn’t realize they were being snagged until making the beds).I continued to use the washer - clothes were fine, but yet again, MORE sheets and now comforters RUINED!!!! I called YET AGAIN after troubleshooting the problem myself and finding that the drain holes in the drum had metal pieces sticking up causing the items to snag & rip. Another day taken off work to stay home for the repair. The repair guy comes out, the part was broken. So now I’m left once again with a faulty washing machine AND no ETA on when the new part will arrive and be installed AND having to take yet another day off work.7 sheet sets, 3 comforters, multiple shirts, & multiple bathing suits RUINED & was told there was ‘nothing they could do!’ I will NEVER EVER AGAIN purchase anything with the Whirlpool logo. It’s JUNK! Just an FYI, this was initiated in May of 2019 and it is now the middle of September 2019 with no fix updates. Who can go months without doing laundry???? Once again, poor customer service and JUNK of a product!

I always appreciated Whirlpool’s quality, but this brand new stove in my brand new home is a disappointment. The top, back (control panel) gets extremely hot when the oven is in use. The burners are not as easy to regulate, and the broiler (which is under the stove, a negative for me) didn’t come with a broiler pan. That was an additional cost. I had service out in the first 60 days because the oven wasn’t heating properly.

I currently rent, and so when our literally 30-yr. old GE dishwasher broke down, our landlords went out and installed us a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I was excited because FINALLY I would have clean dishes and a dishwasher that didnt leak a bucket of water all over the floor. Well, weve had it for about 6-8 months now and I have to say that I am not impressed. It is not as great as I thought itd be. First of all, my dishes still look cloudy (despite using various brands - even homemade - detergent). Second, one out of every three washes gives me still-dirty dishes (food still on them, even though I rinse before loading the dishes). Now, Im not talking about tough stuck-on, need a jack-hammer to remove food. Just normal food. Mostly it is oil, like if I had a plate that I had eaten French fries on and there was grease left behind that normal rinsing didnt remove. A new dishwasher SHOULD be able to clean that! Third, it guzzles Jet Dry liquid (or whatever rinse aid you use) like an alcoholic in a bar. I have used a BIG bottle in one month. One month. With the old 30 yr. old dishwasher, it took me around 2 YEARS to use a big bottle. And lastly, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to wash a load. My old dishwasher took an hour tops - to rinse, wash, rinse, and dry - and it was 30 years old. This new Whirlpool takes 3 HOURS!!! I can literally hand-wash all of my dishes (and with a family of 4 thats a lot of dirty dishes in one day), sit them out to air dry, and take a nap and it take LESS TIME than using the dishwasher. The dishwasher has all the bells and whistles to make it look good, but trust me, if I could have had the 30-year old dishwasher rebuilt to newness, I would have begged my landlord to do that instead. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool appliances. I left another less than friendly review for my Whirlpool Cabrio washer (only 5 years old), if you care to see it. Learned my lesson, dont buy Whirlpool. So disappointed because they used to be (USED TO BE) a reputable dependable brand.

Model no. WTW4950XW is a piece of pure junk. Bought this machine 2yrs, 4 months ago. I just replaced it and to be sure not with another Whirlpool. The machine went out. Just quit. Nothing on control panel (computer). Didnt call for service tech as this machine has been crap since I bought it. Tried to return it but couldnt after I first used it. It would only give hot water on 2 cycles and that was on bulk or delicate. The regular cycle would only give warm but actually it was cold. Not enough water for 6 pieces of small clothes on regular. More water on delicate. Didnt wash very well. Clothes were not really as clean as they should have been. I used to only buy Whirlpool appliances but have now switched. They are bilking the consumer with subpar machines.

Almost all my house guests leave it slightly cracked because it does not close conveniently like other refrigerators. Water freezes up all over the freezer. I even had to defrost it completely to get the fans to start working properly.

We bought a Cabrio washing machine two years ago. I have had to have a repairman out twice for it shooting water out of the top (from a top-loading machine). They repaired that and its better. But this goes off balance ALL the time. I cant even wash a load of towels without it going off balance. We bought this one as it was supposed to handle large blankets and even my lightweight king size comforters. Yeah. Did once or twice, then started the off-balance stuff. It grows MOLD in the bleach, softener, and detergent dispensers.I wrote to the company and included pictures. They were really rude about it. I finally found how to remove the dispensers to clean them, but it is very difficult. I HATE this machine and will never buy a Whirlpool again. (Our refrigerator, which was in our house when we bought it, is also a Whirlpool. It is poorly designed and collect dust in the coils UNDER the thing and you cannot reach them to clean it. Coils are behind other pieces that block being able to clean them.) Whirlpool is a horrible company and doesnt stand behind their products, in my experience.

We purchased a Whirlpool Accubake Drop-in Stove (Model # RS675PXG015) on 10/21/2006 from Lowes Companies, which cost $1,100.00. In 11/2012, we had an error message E1-F2, and we tried everything to get it to clear - all suggestions given by electrical repairman who does repair for Lowes Cos. The stove is porcelain, which also has problems of staining that cant be cleaned. We were told the repair would cost $200 for the panel, and if that doesnt work, another $400 for the other panel. In reviewing other complaints for this Whirlpool stove, there are enough complaints to recall this item or at least give deep cuts for the parts to repair this stove. We have purchased other Whirlpool items, and this one is not well made and too costly to repair. It should last at least 15 years or more. Cant Whirlpool do something about this obvious problem?

If you are searching for a top freezer refrigerator that works and keeps the food cold, do not buy this brand. I recently ordered a brand new refrigerator from Home Depot, the Whirlpool brand. It was set to standard factory settings, and I let it sit plugged in for 24 hours as required. The fridge was remaining in between 45 to 50°F, and I let it run for another 24 hours after filing a complaint and talking to the people at Whirlpool. The fridge still cannot get beneath 40°F, though the freezer seems to be okay. I spent almost $1000 on the refrigerator, and I’m very disappointed in the quality that this supposedly good brand produces. I went on Facebook marketplace, found an old 1995 Kenmore and bought it for $50. It works so much better than this brand new, fancy looking refrigerator, because back decades ago is when they actually took the time to make quality products, and didn’t make the crap that they do now that breaks down instantly or after only a few years. Unfortunately, and my researching has confirmed this, appliance manufacturers today create bad quality products that break down shortly in order that you will have to purchase more of their products after only a few years. Refrigerators used to last decades, now you’d be lucky if they lasted maybe 8 to 10 years. Trust me on this, don’t waste your time on this brand. A refrigerator should have no problem on factory settings getting at or below 40°F within 24 hours. DON’T BUY THIS JUNK!

We have a large family so when we needed a new refrigerator we found this very large unit (Whirlpool 32 cu). About this unit, its not really all that wide, but it is very deep. Lowes didnt have a model on the floor but we went by photos. Also the salesman showed us a smaller version of this unit and we were impressed with the design. However unlike the unit we saw the shelves arent adjustable. They are preset. Also the ice maker on top is very small and makes ice very slowly. The freezer section ice maker is much larger. The main complaint I have with that is unless you push the tray all the way to the back ice can drop behind the tray and fall down causing the freezer door not to always close properly, leaving you with semi defrosted food. Whoever designed this refrigerator was an idiot. All issues are really related to design flaws. This is a very expensive refrigerator. I expected a great unit and got a piece of crap instead. Stay away from this model at all cost. It would be smarter to buy 2 refrigerators instead if you have the room. This model will give you nothing but a headache and grief. This is our story about our experience. This all took place within 1 year. We bought it at Lowes. They were wonderful when it came to taking care of us when it was within the stores’ warranty. They really tried to help us. Once their warranty ran out they put us in touch with our new repairmen. Lowes did tell us that one other man bought the same unit and he was up to refrigerator # 15. Like I said, this unit is crap. Our first unit was delivered with a huge dent in the door. They took it back (lucky for us we have 2 other refrigerators).Second unit arrived in store also badly dented. They didnt bother to deliver that unit. Third unit arrives at store but back area around motor all dented up. They order a 4th unit. This unit wasnt dented up so they delivered it. However doors were very off and wouldnt line up so it didnt close properly. A 5th unit was ordered and same issue with the doors. A 6th unit ordered and they called telling me that it was all dented up and needed to order a new unit. Our 7th unit arrived and in 3 days started making funny sounds. Dual ice makers stopped working and inside refrigerator is was very warm. Lowes ordered #8. This unit the freezer doors werent lining up so #9 was ordered. This time everything seemed to line up, no dents however by the third month it started making a funny sound. Dual ice makers stopped working. Warm inside the refrigerator section. Lowes sent out a repair man. He explained a design flaw was not enough insulation around the fan so it was icing up. That was replaced and it was working nicely for 4 months. Same issues with fan icing up, the noise and no ice. The repair man came out again and mentioned what was kind of a recall with the unit. The control panel in the back of the refrigerator was wrong and needed the correct one to be put in. That was done. He told us that we shouldnt have any more issues with it.Same thing again. Same symptoms, same results...we had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food. (I just put in an entire prime filet mignon I planned for a special dinner and had to throw it out. OUCH!) Awaiting for the repair man, again. He will be out in 5 more days. Im sure it will be a new issue, a new brand new fix and it will work for a few weeks to months and we will be calling him again.

Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? My new ACCU-BAKE oven was not baking properly. Always uneven results. Finally called for service, just in time before the warranty expired. The service rep informed me that I had not bought a convection oven. Well, duh! Of course, I knew that! He tested the temperature levels inside the oven and found a variance of 10 degrees Celsius, which he reported by phone to the company. He advised me to reach into the oven half-way through any baking process to turn my cake around, and it would bake evenly. I asked him if he had ever tried that himself. No, he said, he was not a baker. That was the end of the service call. No follow-up, no service. Today I learned that the company actually has this exchange in its records, but if I want to get the oven to work properly Ill have to pay for service, as the warranty has expired. My husband and I purchased a new Maytag top load washing machine from Best Buy in May 2017. On June 19th, a month later, as I am washing, all of a sudden the machine dies down. I checked everything from the outlet, the plug to the circuit breaker, and nothing seemed to help get my washer to start up again. Unfortunately I had wet clothes inside and the lid is one of those that locks itself and it would not open. :( I called Whirlpool/Maytag to explain my situation and could not believe that they told me that they only have 1 authorized appliance repair dealer they work with in my area and that they didnt show any available appointments until 4 weeks from now? WHAT? Are you kidding me? I could not wait that long, especially since I had soaking wet clothes sitting inside the washer.I asked if I called someone else myself and have it repaired sooner, would they reimburse me for the expenses. They refused to do that and told me I need to wait for their own authorized repair dealers. Talk about bad customer service here :( My husband called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor at Whirlpool and was told that it shouldnt have to be that long for us to wait for repair so why was I told that in the first place? The supervisor proceeded to tell my husband that we will get a call back in 5 days? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 5 days just for someone to CALL us? And then have to wait longer to get our service done? No way!We think that Whirlpool sold Best Buy a lemon and we are paying for it! Why cant they say that they will get in touch with Best Buy so they can deliver a new working machine and take this lemon back? We are not happy with their responses so we will be paying Best Buy a visit to see what else we can do. I already spent unnecessary money to go to a laundromat to wash clothes :( I would recommend that people stay away from Whirlpool products. Well see if we can exchange ours for another brand.

My 3 year old water heater failed and the service line would send us the part but the install was my responsibility. Shipping was free but would take 3-5 BUSINESS days. Whole has a week to wait with no hot water, $35 for expedited shipping (which took 2 days), $175 for the plumber (authorized by Lowes (1star also) for installs). 2 days later the unit is cold again... Plumber comes back, plays with wiring and gets it fired up again. Says if there is a problem again to refer the techs to the plumbers office for new tank. Well now Whirlpool says they will only take the word of their own plumber AUTHORIZED HEATING 24 hours wait for a service call. You will be the 1st job Wednesday morning. Wednesday 930 call from AH we are backed up. Hope to be there between 1 and 4 pm. How did you get backed up if I was 1st job? Never again will I buy Whirlpool and nothing from Lowes as well. Still no hot water day 3 second time in 2 months.

We bought a Whirlpool washer in 2010. It started making a loud noise on the rinse cycle in 2012. We called Whirlpool. They sent out a repairman from A and E Repair. Was told tub bearing shot, repair over $700.00. Contacted Whirlpool, was told machine out of warranty. After talking to them, they agreed to send parts if we paid labor. Machine lasted less than a year making the same sound again. A and E sent out same thing, bearing gone. Repair cost $997.17, charged us $136.74 service call after 2 minutes to shake the drum and saying same problem. Was told by Whirlpool, no warranty, tough luck.

I purchased a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator in December 2009. In one year’s time, all of the plastic shelving has completely broken. The repair man said that he felt like the plastic was substandard and to call Whirlpool but they said that we must have abused the shelving.I and my husband are senior citizens and the only ones using this refrigerator. How can all the plastic components break within one year? I had my last refrigerator for over 10 years and I gave it to my son. It is still running and all the plastic shelving is still intact.I feel Whirlpool should fix this problem but they do not care about their customers. Once they have your money, you are forgotten. In the end, they will be forgotten because I advise everyone I know not to buy from Whirlpool.

So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... So I have paid for 2 washers and every time I try to get help I have an hour wait to get a person. I am a 65 yr old woman who has been put thru so much stress and it is not good for my health. We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

We purchased a Whirlpool Energy Smart Electric Hot Water Heater with a 12-year warranty from Lowes on August 30, 2010. The water heater stopped working and the green light was flashing three times. We contacted Whirlpool since it was less than two years old and they were very rude to us. They told us it was the sensors and we would have to change them out. We waited while they sent the sensors to us. We installed them and it still would not work. It continued to flash three times just as before. We contacted Lowes where we purchased it and they were extremely apologetic and said they would be glad to replace it if we could get an RA number from Whirlpool, but that many others have been having a hard time dealing with Whirlpool. We contacted the rude people at Whirlpool again. They said they were not surprised that the sensors did not fix it. We asked for an RA number so we could get a replacement (after all, it did have a 12-year warranty). Now we were days later with still no hot water. Now this rude technician said it was probably the control board. I asked him if we were going to have to be without hot water until we changed every part on the unit. At this point, we just took the hot water heater out, put it on the curb, and went and purchased a different brand. Whirlpool has lost us as customers for life. If their other products are as horrible as that hot water heater, I wouldnt take any if they paid me to. They were by far the rudest and most hateful people we have ever dealt with and life is too short to be treated that way. I predict they will be out of business in no time with the garbage they are putting out.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool
I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.

Meanwhile I have had no hot water for 2 days. He told me do what I have to do and hung up on me. So I removed the heater and took it back to Lowes, where they were glad to give my money back. I bought in 2008 a Whirlpool Cabrio washer because it was the best. It cost me $900 plus 170 extended warranty for four years. This month, my washer showed an f1 code. I call the Maytag store and guess what, they are not there anymore. They closed the store. I called for my extended warranty and guess what, they are not with Maytag and they filed a chapter 7. So, I spent over $1000 in a machine that only worked three years and now I have to buy another just because no one wants to take the responsibility on the warranty. I have to pay another $300 to fix the problem and even doing that, theres no guarantee that it wont fail again. So, and this is to the people of Maytag and their cheats, you may take my money but you lose me as a customer forever. Thank you for nothing. I will keep that in mind next week when Ill be in the store buying another washer.

I will be happy to provide exact details soon but wanted to share I have had most of our clothes and household items-sheets, rugs, towels etc. ruined by this machine. And it is under warranty and Lowes in Dallas, Texas where I purchased it has seen the evidence. I rolled in with a suitcase full of different examples of ruined items and some photos. The repair person Whirlpool sent out was nice but not willing to document clothes and said the machine is fine after a few diagnostics digital checks. He did not run a load of clothes! And it takes forever to set up. My wait was over 3 weeks. etc. Lowes has been incredibly wonderful but states the warranty is Whirlpools decision and all Lowes needs is a RA (return authorization from Whirlpool) and Lowes is happy for me to buy whatever ever washer I like and even are willing to give me a discount as they know how horribly Whirlpool has treated me.The manager stayed on speaker phone with me for over an hour. My husband is a lawyer and I will further pursue this situation as Whirlpool hopes I will just drop it by March when my Whirlpool warranty runs out or give up from protocol internal exhaustion. As they have insulted me in every way... Even suggesting I sell the defective machine to someone else... And I said, How in good faith and having a conscience could I do that? Anyway after spending a lifetime it seems trying my best to get this resolved with a cauliflower ear from being on the phone for so many hours with their resolution leaders and specialists etc. It is obvious I am about to have to go on social media and do everything I can to Save others from this time waster, Save their laundry, etc. and Did I mention at times it leaks a little bit of water out the front. As it was the least of my worries as I was showing nice tech my expensive ruined 900.00 ski pants, ruined shirts etc. I think the machine cost around a 1,000 to 1,200 so... Will get back to you for an update. I have a whole file folder on documentation now and it is not about the money or the fact I cannot wash clothes. It is down to principle... On my third top-level resolution leader in MI. -Jim- basically had me read between the lines that I was dealing with a Fortune 500 company and would never win. He is underestimating the level of frustration and lengths I will go to not be taken advantage of as a woman, a career girl, a wife and a yoga teacher. I will be in Yoga warrior mode and this is disheartening as all I want to do is wash my clothes. Did I mention all my Lulu Lemon pants are ruined and I never put them in the dryer! Only delicate cold etc. Have them remain intact etc. really simple here but Whirlpool not standing by their warranties. And my whole home is outfitted with Jen-air, Kitchen-Aid, Maytag etc. which are all owned by the same company so I have been a very loyal customer who possibly just got a lemon. Or standards at the company have severely changed. More later on developments hopefully. Sad in Dallas.

On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

First, I contacted the service contract people. They told me this was not covered under the policy. Next, I wrote & called the company. The walls show the styrofoam stuffing in the refrig. Whirlpool sent out a repairman to fix my range. I had it for 3 years, and one day I was baking cookies in the lower range and boiling water for pasta on the top left burner. There was a very loud pop, a bright flash in the glass top where the back left burner is, then there was no power to the range or oven at all. No clock display, burners would not work, oven would not work, nothing. As if it were unplugged. Of course, my warranty was about to expire in approximately 6 days (go figure) so I called the customer service line for repair. After 2 hours of back and forth with 3 different people, I finally had a technician coming out 4 days later. He shows up, takes about 35 minutes to get the glass top off, then says to me that he needs to order a part for it. This will take a few days. Ugh. Fine. 3 days later, part comes in. Same guy comes back out, fixes it. Ok.Up and running fine for about a year and 2 months. Then... POP! It happens again. Same scenario, different menu. (I was cooking breakfast). Now, warranty has run out and I have a $1,300 piece of scrap metal sitting in my kitchen. Worthless. My old KitchenAid stove was great. Had that thing for 13 years. Never a problem outside of replacing a $68 heating element one time. I paid $450 for that range. Tossed it out for this bells and whistles newer stainless steel glass top range/double oven. Regretting that tremendously. Whirlpool will be on my do-not-buy list for any appliance from now on. Didn’t even last 5 years. Oh did I mention the service call cost me $85? Yeah... Garbage!

Water filtration unit was leaking only when someone got water. It pooled into the bottom of fridge and ran out under the fridge and because of the slope of the floor was running back towards the wall. We didnt notice until our laminate wood flooring was starting to swell up. It was probably leaking since the day we bought fridge brand new, but took us 4 months to notice. Whirlpool said they will not fix our flooring, only the fridge. We had to make a homeowners claim which we did. When the contractor moved the fridge back after replacing all flooring it starting leaking from the ice maker unit. Only when the ice tray filled it would gush out water. Our flooring is now ruined a 2nd time and Whirlpool will not fix the floor. Repairman said that Whirlpool used rigid parts in the water and ice maker units and tons of people are having the same problem. Since there is no flexibility in these parts they break when the fridge is moved. Whirlpool sucks and I am fighting with them and Lowes to get this fridge replaced with a non Whirlpool appliance. Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!
