I have had this range for approximately 4-5 years with no problems. The design and efficiency are great!! I would recommend this brand to anyone and would purchase it again myself. It has an extra burner just for warming which I love.
Washer is not worth the cost. After 4th year of use in a two person household the washer bearings are gone and require replacement. The washer sounds like an airplane. I was told based on my description of the issue that the water has leaked due to washing and spinning into the bearing assembly and has caused it to have friction. The Whirlpool warranty is just as costly as the machine.
This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.
The board manufacturer number W10312659 went out. They replaced the board. The oven was 6 months old, luckily was still under warranty. We didnt purchase a extended one because mostly it had a good name and brand. Well after a year and a half the board went out again. It gives error code H5P which there is no error H5P. So the boards out. It is very costly and thats with you doing your own service. Never will I buy another Whirlpool stove.
I have hated this Cabrio washer and dryer set since the day they were delivered brand new by Best Buy a couple of years ago. The washer does not clean well, often does not spin dry, and leaves some clothes dry after a full wash cycle!!! I have to wash small loads on the deep water cycle to even have a chance at cleaning the clothes. The clothes are so dreadfully compacted and tangled that it takes great effort to birth them out of the washer, unfurl them, shake them, and put them into the next torture machine- the dryer. It is as if Whirlpool intended to build a machine to twist clothing so tight that it requires a bodybuilder to untangle the clothing. Then the items are so incredibly crumpled that ironing has found its way back into my already busy life. Ironing is a massive challenge to the degree of wrinkles in the clothing. The slanted tops are icing on the cake. Cant even pull the clothes out of the dryer to the top of it because they slide right off. Cool.
My husband and I bought a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Series Washer and Dryer in November 2012 from Lowes. My clothes, especially towels, smell like mildew and mold since I have used it. I thought it was just me. I have even thrown some items away when they smelled so bad. I love doing laundry but this not being able to have clean smells was driving me crazy. I tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Finally in October of this year 2015 my washing machine began to make a loud noise. My husband said sounds like a bearing is going out. I immediately sought a repairman thinking that it would be a simple fix. $420 later I had a new bushing, bearing, sleeve, etc. The machine was still making noises even louder and my repairman came back, this time to the tune of $180. So far weve spent $600 on a washer that we gave a little over $800 for. Now I have a UL code showing up when my load is almost completely done and guess what? My repairman says he has yet another part that should take care of the noise but he wasnt so sure about the panel. He may have to do a little research on that. I think all I have is a repairman that is a parts replacer so we were forced to purchase a new washer yesterday and my Cabrio is sitting in my garage. If someone needs a boat anchor just please contact us. I wrote a letter to the corporate office of Whirlpool before I even knew that so many consumers were having problems. Two repairmen told me that the Cabrios were junk. Most of them belonged in the landfill. Whirlpool customer service called me and offered me a discount coupon on a new washer. I told them that I didnt think I needed another piece of crap. I also questioned them as to why they could foist these crappy machines off on the American public. They had no apologies whatsoever. While researching what brand washing machine to invest in, I realized that there were numerous complaints regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio. With as many consumers who have been taken advantage of with this awful product, why cant someone do something?
Thermal couple went out and nobody has one. You have to get it from whirlpool. This could be a easy fix with buying a $6.00 thermal couple but the one on mine has left handed threads. I took it to several parts places and they all said you have to buy it from whirlpool so you have to call the 1 800 number and they ask you how soon do you want it, 5 to 6 days to take a shower for $10 shipping, or $20 for 3 to 4 days without a shower or $32 for overnight? This ** should be free if they are the only ones that have it. I never heard of this crap before. The funny thing is they told me I should replace my water heater since the warranty is expired. Dont worry I will buy a new one someday and it will be anything but a whirlpool. I will never buy anything whirlpool again and make sure my family never buys whirlpool.
Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.
I purchased an electric double oven range on 11/20/11, model # GGE388XS00 and serial # D02584385. Something is getting in between the glass on the bottom oven door and theres no way for me to clean it out. I feel it is an issue with the seals they have around the glass oven doors.Whirlpool says its common for that to happen. They say its condensation. But it doesnt look like condensation to me. Whirlpool says theres nothing they can do about it.I had this same issue with a Whirlpool microwave oven I had. I finally ditched the microwave and bought a new one, because after a while, it starts looking really nasty. I never complained about the microwave, but after buying a new oven and it starting to do the same thing, I thought Id better complain and see what they would do about it. Theyre not doing anything about it.
I am a Whirlpool Privilege Member - IFB privilege number **. This is Mrs ** here and I possess two Whirlpool Fridges, one single door and one double door (Elite Model). In fact, all my family members have Whirlpool refrigerators because I recommended them and because I have had a very satisfying experience with your service until now.I recently (first week of March) logged a complaint as my fridge was not working (it was working on and off). The Mechanic from the service center visited us and said that the compressor was at fault. I had some doubt about this as the Fridge was working on and off and I requested my friend who had a workshop to come and have a look. He checked and said that the compressor was working perfectly but looked like there was some problem in the supply of current which could be a loose contact or something. So I logged another complaint and when the mechanic came (this time a different one), I was out of the country and my husband was there in the house. He checked the fridge and said the compressor was working and apologized for the earlier mechanic’s wrong diagnosis. He also said that it was difficult that since the wires were inside the beading or the Puff, or whatever, the fridge could not be repaired.I am really astonished and pained by this comment by the mechanic as we spent a lot of money and bought a fridge for its brand worth name. I shudder to think if this complaint had happened two years after I brought it, should I simply throw the fridge because it cant be repaired? Is there anything at all where the company can say it can’t be repaired? Are fridges used and thrown in India? I am all the more worried because I have been recommending Whirlpool Fridges left and right to everyone and I tell them that there could be a situation when Whirlpool would ask you to simply throw your fridge away. I still have belief in Whirlpool and I firmly believe my recommendations would not go wrong, and it is only the fault of the mechanic who could have made this remark unwittingly.
My washer is nearly 7 yrs. old. It has almost been a full-time spectator sport. Good thing its in the kitchen! Twists sheets so badly - on sheets setting - that it stops and I must undo the balloon its formed and rearrange the wet, heavy 2 sheets and 2 pillow cases. Now, it cant even finish the clean washer cycle without stopping. It seems it doesnt use enough water to do the job of washing items thoroughly. And it balks at heavy loads - which is what we bought this washer to do - blankets, rugs, quilts, etc. Two people, now only one, and two small dogs. I should have at least 10 years of service from that purchase. Repairman says $300+, and he sees it as a very common code. Build them to last or give up. Im disgusted with Whirlpool now.
We have been very happy with our appliances that now over 11 years old and doing well. We love our gas range top. They gave greater and new models so we love Whirlpool and GE. We always get great deals at Home Depot.
In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.
I purchased the Whirlpool touchscreen gas convection range and I do not recommend this product at all. The oven cannot operate without using the touchscreen to set the temperature and it has a mind of its own. Woke up in the middle of the night and the oven turned itself on to 550 broil. I called Whirlpool, they sent a tech out who replaced the touchscreen and the same problem is happening. Not engineered very well. The range would have been fine without the touchscreen, if only it had an old fashioned knob to set the temp. I do not recommend buying this appliance.
We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.
This refrigerator (French Door Refrigerator Model: WRF757SDEM) has been problematic since day one. The ice dispenser sends crushed ice all over the kitchen floor. The temperature in the upper 3/4 of the storage area and on the door is 57 degrees (it should be between 36 and 40 degrees). The item was purchased at Best Buy on October, 2016. It is still under warranty. I have had several visits by repair people and so far no fix. My friends call it a crockerator, since you can freeze food in the freezer and slowly cook food in the refrigerator section. I tried twice to get Whirlpool to pick up this thing, but so far no go. DO NOT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR! They used to make good products, but no longer do.
The machine meets our needs and just the right capacity. It has just the right number of selection for proper washing. Very easy to load clothes and remove from the washer. There were a number of colors to select.
We bought this dishwasher 3 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with it. Our friends bought one just like it the same day. It basically runs when it wants to. It has really been a pain. We also bought a refrigerator about the same time. The ice maker builds up frost and you cant get the ice to dispense. We are very disappointed in these products. Had a Hotpoint dishwasher that lasted 25 years and was still working when we replaced it with this one. Our Amana fridge was still working when we replaced it. Just needed new seals.
We are so disappointed in the purchase of this machine! It doesnt put enough water in the machine to clean the clothes, and the spin cycle has continuously gotten louder and louder to the point I think its going to explode when it spins! Is there any recourse we have or any recalls on this machine?? Thank you for your help!!!
GB2SHDXTS02 - Bought the Unit and an additional 4 yr protection plan. Shortly after the plan expired the plastic drip pan cracked and spilled water all over the laminate floor. It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesnt cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. My fault for not checking ratings before I bought, but built in obsolescence is obvious here. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but I will never or will my family ever buy another appliance from them.
I agree with the person who said they would rate it no stars, because this washing machine model (Whirlpool Cabrio Model No. WTW8500DC4) does not deserve one. It truly does need to go back to the engineering department. This washing machine is a replacement for another Cabrio! Short story on the first one: Installed on February 2, 2017. October 5, 2017, machine would not go. Then began a series of waiting for repair people, parts, etc. I think it was a total of four trips -- the first one to inspect, three to install parts, the last one being where the repairman took the machine totally apart in the laundry room and was here for several hours. Still would not work. On November 29, 2017 (almost two months later!), Whirlpool had one delivered by JB Hunt. Well, that wasnt so short. This complaint is on the replacement machine. Installed on November 29, 2017. On February 3, 2017, washer said it was done. Well, it wasnt! Clothes were sopping wet, had not been spun, and the fabric softener had not released meaning, I guess, that they had not been through the rinse cycle. It gets better! Tried to start it on a short wash, meaning not very dirty as that is the only way to shorten the cycle. The timer showed 40-something minutes, then went to 1:36 minutes, then to 1:42. Turned it off, unplugged, let sit 15-20 minutes. Plugged in, started it back up. It went crazy! Water was pouring in the machine, then I heard a noise, looked to see what it was -- it was water coming out the bottom of the machine. Husband turned off the water spigots, didnt stop the water. I unplugged the thing from the wall; water did stop.Water was in the laundry room, the pantry, the kitchen! Thankfully I was standing there to see what it was doing or it could have been really bad. This time I took photos and video of this thing. Technician is coming Wednesday. Well see, wont we? Do not want another Cabrio, but what do you do if, like most people with new washer/dryers, you want a matched set?
The washing machine does not wash the clothes. It does not clean the clothes and goes off balance all the time. I have had it 9 months and waited to write the review to make sure I using it properly and giving it a chance but to no avail. It is awful. It leaves white lines on the dark clothes and does not take makeup stains out of the white towels. Those are just a few examples. The clothes have to be washed sometimes twice to feel they are clean enough. So it is not cost effective and uses more water which is counter productive to the HE.
WARNING: Do not get the warranty plan through Whirlpool if you have stackable washer and dryer, you will have to remove the dryer yourself before they come out to service your appliances. I was willing to pay extra to have them take it down, the contractor said I had to call the extended plan service, yet 6 telephone numbers later to include the complaints department to no avail... Whirlpool contracts out so get your own and you may save a few dollars!
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - The washer does not stay balanced even with a very small load (even though advertised can wash King size comforter). Even with a light load, we have to put the dryer on Heavy Duty or Bulky...and usually have to dry a second time. When attempted to contact Whirlpool, no help available. WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER PURCHASED... Would not even want to GIVE this set to a friend or family member. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.
I bought a Whirlpool larder fridge 18 months ago. It suddenly stopped working so we got a service engineer up who said there was no gas. He said it would cost 50.00, but with no guarantee it would work afterwards.
My son purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine about two years ago and now it doesnt work. It was an almost $1,000 machine. You would expect a higher quality product. I always bought Whirlpool products because they were so dependable so I recommended my son to go with Whirlpool. Big mistake, the panel lights up but when you press the power button, nothing happens. I do not recommend this machine to anyone. Im wondering if anyone else that has purchased this has had the same trouble.
If everyone would submit their complains to Whirlpool, they might do something about this. Submit your complaint to ALL of the followings emails: investor_relations@whirlpool.com media@whirlpool.com whirlpool_customerexperience@whirlpool.com B2Bdevelopment@whirlpool.com. Here is what I wrote to Whirlpool: Model: WTW7800XWO, Serial number: C02670320. I purchased the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Cabrio Platinum Top Load Washer in June 2010. The washer lid has broken 3 times now. Its snapping by the hinges. I have been charged about $300 per lid. I believe the hinges are not durable enough to support the weight of the glass lid. I have read hundreds of reviews regarding the same model and issues, I also have a friend who has the same model and is experiencing the same issues and has had to replace the lid twice now. Im disappointed that Whirlpool has not taken accountability for this and either issue a recall or replace the lid at no charge to the customer. If there has been so many complaints, why hasnt Whirlpool taken action on this? I am requesting that the Whirlpool Headquarters address this issue immediately. When I called customer service to complain about this issue, the rep informed me that they have never heard about this issue before. From all the reviews I have read online, it seems that customer service is telling them the same thing. By not addressing this defect, Whirlpool will lose thousands of customers. This is not the way to retain or have returning customers. This is the first time I have purchased a Whirlpool appliance. I will not be a returning customer if this matter is not resolved.
Purchased Whirlpool clothes washer Cabrio Platinum about one year ago. Never sufficient water to clean items. Appears that there is no way to add additional water to ensure that items are cleaned. Many items come out dry and still soiled.
In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.
My Whirlpool Gold Star aqualift oven stopped working right at three years, when the warranty ended. I paid the $650 for repairs to the stovetop, hoping this was a one-time situation. Six months later, my oven has quit. This product is not a good investment. Im very disappointed.
I purchased the machine December of 2010 from Lowes along with the matching dryer. I also purchased an extended warranty. A year ago July the lid on the washer broke at the hinges. I contacted the warranty provider and was told that the repair would not be covered under warranty and the damage was operator error. I purchased a new lid for approx. $250. One year later the replacement lid broke in the same location. I have tried to get a response from Whirlpool no response. I contacted Parts Select and inquired about changes that should have been made to correct the lids. He was not aware of any changes but did advise that the part had a new number which he indicated probably meant a design change. I ordered a new lid just under $250. New machines have a metal frame around the glass instead of the plastic frame which keeps failing. The springs that hold the lid in the upright position are so stiff I can hardly move them by hand. I am very disappointed in Whirlpool quality and consumer support. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.
IM single, and my current refrigerator meets my basic needs quite well. One drawback -- it has an ice making machine which I never use. Therefore, that takes up room in the freezer which could be used for frozen foods.
I bought Whirlpool water heater model #FG1H5040T3NOV about 5 years ago. Burner assembly was replaced two years ago and now, thermocouple was replaced yesterday.
I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (dbl dr) from Home Depot and received it on August 4th. When I went to clean it I found that blood had spilled from a roast and had accumulated all around the inside of the plastic shelf seal. It was impossible to clean. Water just ran inside the seal and diluted the blood. Then, it leaked all over my kitchen. I had a serviceman here for another problem, sent by Whirlpool. He said hed try to get them to replace the shelf. Never heard from him again. I called Whirlpool today. Was told I could buy another shelf. Otherwise, they didnt care. Said it wasnt a functional problem. This is a definite health hazard. Whirlpool used to be wonderful. What happened? I have a dryer, washer, and water tank about to need replacing. Whirlpool wont see a dime from me. (Home Depot, either.) This has become a very bad company. Ive contacted the NY Dist. Attys office. Meanwhile, I have a fridge with a major shelf missing for the holidays and for the foreseeable future.
I bought Whirlpool hot water heater with the Honeywell part in 2014 and the thermal box went out. No flashing lights, no way to reset. I understand that Whirlpool had a class action lawsuit after researching. Still selling this product to consumers. Whirlpool should be held responsible, and be made to give an allotment to replace homeowners with hot water tank of choice! If lawsuit is active please add my name.
The machine Will Not Clean the Clothes. Had to Buy A Maytag Washer.
Three days ago my washer Whirlpool Caballero has made a loud jet noise sound while spinning. While researching for a repair Ive noticed many complaints about this type of washer. Is there any resources that will help me get this repaired?
I have called and emailed Whirlpool numerous times, complaining about the fungal odor emitted by my Whirlpool Duet front-loading washing machine (model #WFW9400SU01, serial#CSW0416732). I did everything they suggested that I do to no avail. A customer service representative said that the only thing left to do was to schedule a repair with a Whirlpool service person which I did. He called me when he was on his way and asked me what the problem was, and he told me I would be charged for nothing because hed seen this problem many times before and theres nothing he can do. Please advice.
I purchased my Whirlpool gas range about 5 yrs ago as brand new. Two and a half years after purchase, I started getting the F2 error and always had to pull the breaker to stop the oven. Whirlpool would not do a thing, they wouldnt even listen to me. So I bought a new control panel. Now once again here it is the holidays and Ive started getting the F2 error when I try to use the oven. So needless to say this is my last Whirlpool appliance. And the Service Officer wont even listen to me when I say I have to buy a new oven.
I purchased a compact frontload washer. At first, I was getting a code f30, which took the technician weeks of coming to my home and changing different parts to finally accomplish that problem. After that, the machine would not go into high spin to wring the clothes out. So everything comes out soaking wet. After two different companies (Herbs Appliance and DanMarc Appliance which I got from my service contract) changed speed control, board, latch control, main computer, and top control board, the machine finally worked for a little while. Not long after, the machine is no longer wringing out once again. I am no longer under contract but had a repairman out three times to inform me this machine is a lemon. Whirlpool tells me I am no longer under contract, but my argument is this is not a new problem but a preexisting one.
We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator new. When the first one was delivered it had electronic problems. We sent that one back. The next one, same model, seemed to be alright for a few days then it developed electronic problems. My son discovered the problem was caused by a faulty door panel in the freezer. The panel would come loose and if you knocked it back in place the electronics would work until the panel came loose again. Whirlpool would do nothing about our complaint. Now the refrigerator section freezes things. We paid to have it fixed 2 months ago and now have the problem again. The repairman said he had brought up concerns in meetings about the same door problems and been blown off. Our food is freezing in the refrigerator again and Whirlpool has blown us off again. We will never buy Whirlpool again. I trusted Consumers Report when I bought the Whirlpool and that goes to show you that doesnt always work either.
Whirlpool duet steam model: WFW9750WW00Serial: CSY3601165Please see attached the pictures of our washer that was purchased without a top counter balance from HH Gregg in May of 2010. We were told by the extended warranty technician when he came to diagnose the machine on 6/24/13 that the bearing and basket were bad. He ordered the parts and returned on 7/2 to repair the machine. Upon taking it apart, he discovered the top counter balance was missing and was the reason that the bearing and other parts had failed. I will include pictures of the plastic that the counter balance should have been attached to. You can see there are no screw holes or scuffs on the plastic. It was suggested by one of the customer service agents, Kitty in TN, that we remove the counter balance. Per Kitty, Because had it come from the factory like that, it would have walked all over the laundry room and not worked right since the first day. Honestly, we have scuffs all over our walls and my husband just thought the legs needed adjusted or it wasnt sitting properly on the pedestal. We have never owned a front load washer, so we didnt know what to expect. The washer sits in a very tight space under the cabinets, but will walk in the middle of the floor especially before we installed the pedestal. The top counter balance was ordered on 7/2 and we were told it would arrive and be installed today. The technician called me at 10:55AM today and stated the package had not arrived. We are asking Whirlpool for a replacement washer as the one we purchased brand new came from the factory defective. We have been told a solid NO. Upon further inspection of the machine while taking pictures, I noticed that the bottom counter balance is cracked clear through as well. Im attaching pictures of that. I did speak with Laticia in MI. She was VERY nice and more empathetic than the other 6 or so people we have spoken with at Whirlpool customer service. She was professional, helpful and I hope who Whirlpool would want representing their company and brand. We feel Whirlpool sold us a faulty machine and they should replace it. We have been told by them that they are sending the parts as a GOODWILL gesture, and will have the parts installed. Now after the whole inside of it is shot and possibly the motor and boards, thats awesome. We are now an LG/Samsung family. This was our 3rd and last set of appliances from Whirlpool. When the rest of these die, we will replace with another brand. How sad that what once was a great company, and I grew up with my mom and grandma thinking there was no other brand to use beside Whirlpool, now we are left washerless for 3 weeks. They refuse to stand behind a mistake that was made in the factory. Ive read these are made in Germany. Maybe Whirlpool needs to bring jobs back to the US and improve their quality control.
The one star is just for the oven, which is still working. I have a microwave and oven combo and the microwave is used occasionally for popcorn or to reheat the food. Soon, it stopped warming up. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.
First Id like to start by saying anyone whom owns Whirlpool make sure to purchase every extra Warranty you can get your hands on right away. Two years ago my husband and I purchased the whole Whirlpool Appliance Kitchen Collection. The gas oven range has been my only real issue. Within a few months my oven wouldnt light. Its a good thing I noticed because there are no safety features that turn the gas off if it doesnt fire up and the gas builds up so so fast its scary. Our Warranty covered the broken igniter switch only for it to act up for over a year. We had to try several times before the oven would light until it just didnt again and it was repaired again under Warranty. Aqua Lift Technology is just something they made up to get us all to purchase it. I swear on my life it doesnt even work a tiny bit. Now, the bottom of my $800 oven is chipping away. I have not worked this out with them yet and I will repost to let others know how it works out. Liquid also gets in between glass oven door, cant ever clean it. Good luck.
Stainless steel side-by-side refrigerator (4 yrs. old) - I have to continually clean the rust stains. Ive used the products Whirlpool has suggested and the rust continues to appear. Lowes extended warranty does not cover this problem because it is cosmetic; Whirlpool reps say its due to the coastal area where I live and that they cant do anything about it! I understand that there are many customers experiencing the same problems with Whirlpool products. Their customer service is worthless and is their warranty to stand behind their products!
This washing machine is a piece of junk. It broke down exactly 2 days after the one year warranty expired. Home Depot said there was nothing they could do and Whirlpool said the same thing. This washing machine was not used on a weekly basis. It perhaps washed 20 loads during the course of the year. I had many issues with the sensors before it broke down completely. Sometimes, half the clothes would be dry after the entire cycle. I was so angry that I had a local independent contractor come in and look at it. He said the motor was broken and needed to be replaced. So much for $700 down the drain. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. This was the worst experience Ive ever had with an appliance.
2012 1st year water dispenser stuck, would not stop pouring water until I shut water valve off behind refrigerator. Replaced switch under warranty. 1st year bottom mount freezer stopped working, replaced condenser under warranty. Handle coming off freezer door not replaced. Today Nov 5th past warranty date Oct. 21st 2012. There is ice buildup in bottom of freezer due to a duckbill valve that I just found out about... This is junk and I already replaced the washing machine. Now I am going to replace this fridge if I have to have money to fix this out of pocket. Dont buy whirlpool and i think they make the same thing under other brands like Kitchenaid. My fridge was registered with whirlpool and no one contacted me from whirlpool about the problem they were aware of, to tell me that the valve is free and labor was free for first two years. Now only part is free. What a rip off. My appliances were part of the purchase price of a new home from a developer.
Best dishwasher Ive ever used, Quiet, extremely clean, priced well for the quality. A really gorgeous piece added to my kitchen. Would highly recommend this product. Up to date. Easy to use. Sleek design. Would be beautiful in any design.
A 12 year old built in double convection oven that has a retail cost of $4500.00 has its control pad discontinued. I cannot repair my investment. I spoke to the executive offices & they arrogantly told me that they only have to make parts for the length of the warranty. Suppose you had a 12 year old Honda that they discontinued a critical part would you feel swindled, I asked. We dont make cars was the response from the executive customer care agent. ARROGANCE How to destroy a company one customer at a time.
I bought the most deluxe and expensive washer and dryer I have ever owned. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio. The clothes come out of the washer dry, and all tangled up. I bought it new from Sears on July 2009. Now only two years old, and the washer sounds like a jet plane. I paid a repairman $90.00 only to be told this is common in this machine. The repair is expensive, and I would be better off buying a new one! I owned a cheap, little GE washer, which cost me $300; ten years, and never had a problem. Now my dream machine turned out to be a piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!
Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.
Error f1e2 error. Washer less than 2 years old.
My Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5550xw0 has had many problems. It started with the lid lock error, replaced it, lasted about 2 weeks, and got another one. I did the diagnostic test that pointed me to the actuator, replaced it. It worked for 2 weeks, got another one, and then another one. I was getting a bad reading from the control panel, replaced it, and that worked for a while. I found out that the actuator had a little water drops on it. I figured that it must be the tub seal, so I replaced it. That lasted about a week and a half, and it started dripping again. Now, I figured it is that the transmission has bad bearings, that causes my tub seal to leak, that causes water drips to go onto my actuator, causing a failure in that, which can give me all kinds of bad readings on the diagnostic test. I have replaced at least half the cost of the original purchase price on a year and a half old washer. I also bought my son a Whirlpool Cabrio washer a few months before I bought mine, and he hasnt had a single problem.
We bought the Whirlpool Gold series side-by-side about 2 years ago with an ice maker in the door and with this design, the ice bucket is on the inside of the door, which we thought was a very clever design, taking up less freezer space. Well, to remove the ice bucket, we had to use a blow dryer because even though you press the button which is supposed to disengage the bucket from the door, it has always been frozen onto the base. Then we started having issues of water leaking from the ice maker. It turns out, that the lever that controls the chute was broken. We called a certified Whirlpool technician to come out to fix the ice maker dispenser lever. Well as it turns out, it cannot be fixed. It is a sealed in the door unit and to fix it, we have to replace the door, a repair estimate for door and labor is approximately $800. That is absurd.I contacted Whirlpool and was told that my refrigerator is out of warranty and that there is not an option to repair the dispenser. There is nothing we can do. I said that according to the repairman, we are not the first to report this problem. When I contacted Whirlpool I was told there is no recall for this item. We purchased the Whirlpool based on the reputation that it has had in the past and the good product we have in a Maytag (which is associated with Whirlpool) dishwasher. Well, never again are we going to purchase a Whirlpool or any of its subsidiaries products. I have read so many unhappy customers here that I cannot believe that Whirlpool continues to make such inferior products or designs.
I bought the #1 rated Consumer Reports recommended Whirlpool Gold fridge 15 months ago (how convenient their warranty stops at 12 months). The control board has already gone out, lots of ruined food and ruined perception that Whirlpool made good products. I will avoid buying anything they make again. When repairman was taking it apart, I saw Made in China stickers.
We purchased the model WFC7500VW, 24” washer and accompanying dryer in June of 2015. Within a couple of months, the water pump went; also we continually had to take the front panel off and clean out the filter when we get an A11 code! Now we experienced an F06 code... This code means the washer can’t go into high speed. The repairman (Whirlpool recommended), told us that a new tachometer motor, etc would run $500-$800 with labor! He also said that the noise the drum made was bad. My dryer works fine (only complaint is the grinding noise it makes, which Whirlpool told me is normal)... I would like to purchase a new washer, but don’t know what will fit under the dryer. I do not want ANY Whirlpool product!
This French Door refrigerator looked beautiful. There are only two of us in the home. We purchased it at the end of 2014 and it just keeps getting worse. The front of each shelving has cracked. They look like they are dried out plastic the way it cracks. The drawer tracks have seem to keep crumbling pieces off. This is not a cheap refrigerator by no means, this is the first time buying Whirlpool, and I believe the last time.
I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer a couple of years ago and have disliked the washer from the first wash. I have followed the instructions on how to load the washer which, first of all, takes more time than any other washer I have ever had to load. Second, the clothes come out so wrapped around each other that its almost impossible to separate them. They are wrinkled to the point that the dryer cant even de-wrinkle them, and some have even been damaged. Third, the load doesnt smell fresh even though I have cleaned the washer as instructed. I agree with every negative review I have read on this product, and have been so disappointed with this purchase that I will never buy any Whirlpool product again.
17 month old Whirlpool duet washer door lock broke. ($300) repair! Had given my old (13 years) set to daughter when I moved. That set has never had a repair or problem! Why do they keep making things with more bells and whistles we dont need and so cheaply made? Frustrated, annoyed and becoming cynical in middle age.
I bought a new computerized Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading washer and matching dryer 3 years ago. Bearings wore out under warranty, it was repaired. Just outside warranty, washer has broken down twice more. I contacted Whirlpool and received a high level of indifference to my concerns that they manufacture junk, and are not willing to stand behind it. Clearly, this is a faulty issue with the machine and should be repaired then and now at their cost. Do not buy Whirlpool products people.
I have a Whirlpool Duet front loader. Sick of it since I bought it! Not enough water to wash & rinse clothes. After consulting sites on internet, husband decided to try adjusting part. He just took off the 3 screws & lifted top off. On the outside part that has a white plastic housing, he turned the longer screw 2 1/4 times clockwise. EUREKA! We have more water! You may need to start out adjusting 1 turn & work up till you see a water level you like. Just dont let the water come over the wide rubber water guard.
DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER (Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher)!!! We bought a camp with this dishwasher in it brand new. It has been serviced three times in the past year because the dishes (especially utensils) do not dry. The service company first said it was because I needed to use jet dry. What a joke! I told them I was using jet dry so they sent a service man out. He had to read a manual in order to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He then decided the entire motherboard needed replacing and he would order the part. He came back, replaced the part and it still did not fix the problem.I called again to complain so they sent another service man out and he said the drying air vent may not be working. They came back out to replace it weeks later because the part was on back order. Wonder Why??? I still have to dry the utensils every time I run the dishwasher. The interior walls of the dishwasher are wet even after running through the drying cycle. Either this dishwasher is a lemon or Whirlpool is selling a dishwasher that does not dry to the consumers!!! So BEWARE!!!
I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 3 years ago. Yesterday will be my last repair. I installed a new tub (bearing failed have to buy a full tub to replace), new suspension rods and a new stator and rotor (cracked). Last year I replaced a drain pump twice, and a computer board. All of these repairs since I purchased this washer have cost me well over $900 for a $1400 machine. I dont mind replacing a pump every few years but these larger failures are unacceptable. We have moved back to Kenmore on some new appliances we purchased this year as result of trouble with Whirlpool. Whirlpool should send out a recall on the suspension rods; the existing ones seize at the top and stop functioning causing the tub to shake excessively. This led to the cracked motor (rotor cracked).
55 Gal Electric New in 2003 / Limited Lifetime Warranty - I paid quite a bit more initially at Lowes for this unit. Its stainless lined. I have had numerous problems since purchase. I had to replace the sensing element in the Smart Box in 2006. Then the lights started flashing again making a humming sound in the box. I took each piece apart in smart box and cleaned them, which seemed to help. Then the upper element that is also stainless that requires a special wrench to replace went bad according to the blinking lights. Lights stopped after several resets. Now, the water is boiling out of the top of heater and they tell me its the seal in the element that I never replaced. The cover for the element is off. Water cannot possibly build up and force out the top of the cover of tank. I am not an idiot, yet they tell me that is most likely the problem. They didnt listen to me long enough to properly assess my concern. Every plumber I talk to says its the separation of the liner inside the heater. Nonetheless, I have a water problem now in the basement and have never heard back from Whirlpool as promised with troubleshooting guide on an email. I am sick of calling and getting the runaround with every issue. The warranty is horrible for the consumer. Sure, you have a limited lifetime warranty, but when you cant get proper information when you need it, what good is it? Made in America is why I bought the product. I also need a new washer but will not be searching in the Whirlpool line due to their lack of care with an important issue with my heater.
Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. Keep going like you are, and you will be bankrupt. Cheap overpriced and nothing but junk in any products you manufacture.
I have a Whirlpool suite. Stove is fine...refrigerator is awful. Froze all the food in fridge. Cost me 100’s to replace. Put in new thermostat. Now sounds like a freight train. Bought in April and the filter already needs to be replaced to the tune of $81.
I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer in 2011. It has been nothing but trouble since. I have had repair people out here several times, because the machine twists and tangles the clothes, doesnt get the clothes clean. Sometimes the clothes come out dry without even getting them wet. There are lots of soap scum too. I would NEVER buy another one of these. SO DISAPPOINTED.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. Last Whirlpool product that I will buy.
We purchased the gold series model WDT790SAYM1 in 2013 replacing a 12 year old Maytag we were very happy with. The Whirlpool just does not clean very well and leaves dishes dirty no matter which cycle you use. The spray arms are cheaply made and do not work well. Its a piece of crap compared to the old Maytag. Do not buy any dishwashers from Whirlpool, they are simply inferior products and a waste of money.
[Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] A few years ago Whirlpool goofed - they left out the Perma-press cycle on a high-efficiency washing machine model. We noticed the absence of Perma-press (or Casual as it sometimes now called) on the shop floor, and were assured we could arrive at the same results with the dizzying array of buttons that allow the consumer to tailor the cycles to their wash load. It turns out that it doesnt allow this. Buttons are disabled on some of the cycles, thereby preventing recreating a Perma-press cycle. No amount of prodding... Whirlpool has provided me with an override for the combination of a normal wash and a gentle spin that comprise a typical Perma-press cycle. On contacting Whirlpool about the missing cycle, they claim consumers no longer want the Perma-press cycle. Puzzled by this statement, I returned to the showroom floor to see for myself. All the washers have Perma-press cycles. Whirlpool goofed with this model. They left it out. They have not provided a replacement machine for a consumer who blows this whistle on their goof. Among the solutions their customer support DID provide: add softeners to the rinse cycle and add dryer sheets to the dryer to reduce wrinkles [by purchasing a high-efficiency machine, we aimed to reduce waste, not increase it]. Among their invalid suggestions: choose the Casual cycle [there is no Casual cycle setting on this machine]; choose Normal cycle, then set spin speed to low [this machine disables the low speed choice on the Normal cycle]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Delicate [Wrong. Delicate only swishes clothes back and forth, not robust enough for business shirt colors and cuffs]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Colors [Wrong. Business shirts come out too wrinkled on Colors]. There has been nothing I can do to convince Whirlpool that they produced a lemon in this model [Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] and should replace it with a normal washing machine. I have tried for years, only for Whirlpool to come to the same conclusion: its the consumers problem now, not theirs.
Im no longer buying Whirlpool products. They do not all up and are made like crap. My Cabrio washer being the most recent problem. Hinges broke on the lid and the drum spring broke. Out the door it goes! Im having my American made Speed Queen delivered tomorrow, the last Speed Queen I owned last over 30 years.
We moved to the mountains of Florissant, CO mid November of 2012. The home we bought needed some renovations. In February of 2013 we bought three Whirlpool appliances from Best Buy before we were ready to. Renovated our kitchen, because they were having a great sale. That was our first mistake. The appliances had to be ordered, and it took a while for all of them to finally come in. We had no idea that it snows up here until almost mid June, and Best Buy wouldnt be able to deliver the appliances until June.We had hired a contractor to renovate the kitchen and had given him half of the money. To make a long story short, he took our money, wouldnt come do the job, but wouldnt give us our money back. Finally did part of the work and never came back again. He sent someone else to do the rest of the job, but he was not licensed, did horrible work that needed to be torn out and be completely redone, yet demanded to be paid for what he did. We ended up in a lawsuit and couldnt hire anybody to finish the kitchen until the lawsuit was settled. By the time the kitchen was finished the refrigerator was already out of warranty.Within days of the refrigerator being plugged up ice began to form at the top back part of the refrigerator. I called Best Buy and over the phone they told me what it was. The refrigerator had been poorly designed. A tube that ran up the back and across the top of the refrigerator to the ice maker created a lot of condensation and was causing ice to form. The Geek Squad representative said that Whirlpool had been aware of the design flaw and had created a kit to fix it. It consisted of insulation, a blower, and maybe a different type of tubing. Anyway, Best Buy said that Whirlpool was responsible for this repair and that it was around $400 and a $100 trip charge, so were talking $500 plus. Since the refrigerator was no longer under warranty with Best Buy I was advised to call Whirlpool since the problem originated in the factory and came like that.I called Whirlpool and they lied and told me there was nothing in their computer system about this design flaw. I called Best Buy back, and they said that Whirlpool had sent something to them about it via the computer and that it was definitely in their system. I called Whirlpool back in July of 2014 and tried to escalate it, but only got the runaround. Now they admit that a recall was done, which had to be in their system, but said that there are two different types of recall. One type is a recall for something that could be dangerous to human life. That type of recall they will take financial responsibility for. Then there is what they call an inconvenience recall. They do not take financial responsibility for anything that falls under that category. For inconvenience recalls, they apparently only contact the companies that have sell their products are contacted, so that they are aware of potential problems that may need to be addressed by their maintenance departments. I feel that a decent, honest responsible company should be willing to take responsibility for things they know were wrong with their product before it ever left their factory or warehouse. Now the freezer isnt working. I called and complained because I thought it was connected to the original problem. All Whirlpool offered to do was to sell me an extended warranty for $319. Its with a company called Assurant, but when you call them they answer as Whirlpool Extended Warranty Program. They told me this would cover the original problem, whatever is wrong with it now, and anything that goes wrong in the next year. I was also promised to not have to put out another dime, so I bought it. Assurant was suppose to set the repair up and pay for it.After almost a week of not hearing from them I called. They informed me that they couldnt find anybody who was qualified to come up here and work on it. I asked them why they didnt call Best Buy. They said it wasnt their policy. I was informed that I was to find someone on my own and have the repairman call them with an explanation of what was wrong with it and the repair cost. If they approved it, then I was to pay for all of the repairs in advance, and they would reimburse me. I had a fit, but they told me that I would either do it that way or the extended warranty would be canceled, and they would just reimburse me the $319 I had paid for the extended warranty.I called Best Buy. They sent a repair man out. He found that the coil at the back of the freezer was covered in a block of ice. He took a blow dryer and thawed it up. He said to put something in the freezer that would freeze it to see if it went back to working properly. He gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him the next day to let him know. In the meantime he was going to contact Whirlpool to see what would have caused that. Well, nothing froze. He called us later and said that Whirlpool had informed him that the coil probably had something that was causing a blockage. It was either a piece of trash that had gotten into the coil at the factory or a bend in the coil, which had to have occurred at the factory; because its inside a closed unit. The repairman said that Best Buy never goes into a closed unit to try to repair it, because they are not qualified, but that if they were it would still cost me a fortune to have that done. He said that Best Buy just replaces the refrigerator, but thats only when its under their warranty. The repair man told me the bill to fix the condensation problem was going to be about $550, and that was before the coil problem was ever discussed. I asked him to call Assurant and tell them everything he told us. He did, and was told there were options to escalate it to the next level. He gave me the phone number. I called it and talked to a representative who told me what the notes in their computer system said. Basically it said to give me my $319 back. Then I was given a phone number to Whirlpool, because I demanded to escalate it.I called the number she gave me. The Whirlpool representative asked me why I hadnt called Sears and offered to call them for me but told me I would be responsible for all the repairs, and that they would not be financially responsible for anything in any way. The guy kept putting me on hold and was apparently getting advice from someone higher in authority.I had already been told that no one in Colorado Springs would go into a closed system to repair that refrigerator, because of the labor and costs. I asked this guy if he just didnt believe the Best Buy repairman or what. There is no telling what Sears will charge me to give me a second opinion. Best Buy has offered to reimburse me for their diagnostic trip up here. If Sears finds the same thing, Im sure they wont reimburse me their trip charge because it didnt come from there. This refrigerator was regularly $2,600. I got it on sale for $2,000 plus sales tax. I cant sell it like it is, I cant get it fixed, and its too big to use as an anchor. In other words, its cost me $2,000 to use this refrigerator for two years, and I have nothing to show for it. You may be saying that I should have bought an extended warranty from Best Buy when I bought it, but that wouldve only taken care of the condensation problem. We wouldve ended up with an unfixable freezer problem anyway. That wouldnt have changed a thing. That extra year warranty would have expired by now.Whirlpool products are inferior, and Whirlpool doesnt take responsibility for their mistakes. They are no better than some of the car companies that have been on the news lately. Take my advice, dont buy Whirlpool products and dont ever be stupid enough to buy their extended warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live, and if you have any sense, you wont either.
I bought the WTW4815EW0 Whirlpool washer. Worse machine ever! It’s take forever to wash a load, there’s no way it’s efficient when it takes twice as long to wash one load. It doesn’t sense the water level correctly, Its noisy, and after only having it 3 years it crashed on me. I refuse to waste money fixing the piece of junk and when I go to purchase a new one it won’t be a Whirlpool.
Bought new. About 3 years old. Been repaired 2 times. Will run about 10 minutes, drain, and stop. Does not clean dishes. Model #du1015 xt xs2 Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1. Never will buy Whirlpool again.
Machine wont go through the whole wash cycle., Wash, Rinse, Spin. It stops and shows an error message and then I have to keep rearranging contents, over and over. This is worse if you try to wash a small load.
Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer - I have a 2 1/2 year old washer that has been serviced twice. This week 10/2/14 the service technician informed me that we had a bad tub bearing. The bearing failure caused a leak which corroded the rotor & stator. It was more cost effective to buy a new washer than to repair our unit!!!! Ive never heard of a washing machine needing to be totally replaced after 2 1/2 years. Any ideas how to deal with Whirlpool?
My electric stove is only four years old. In December, 2021, the control panel broke. Digital read out - numbers can’t be read. Service said it is control panel - can’t be found anywhere. Oven has caught on fire twice. House full of smoke. Whirlpool stated my first mistake was not calling them first. I dont have warranty and couldn’t afford a service call so I have DTE protection plan. They sent about appliance repair at their cost. Man said it is control panel and NONE can be found. Whirlpool can’t send THEIR serviceman for another two weeks. I was told to keep circuit breaker on stove pulled. I am 76 and my husband is 84. We can’t go out to eat every night for two reasons: we are on a fixed income - finances will not allow. Plus we both have health issue so I have to cook/bake a certain way. It is going on three months. We can’t afford a new stove every four years. I want Whirlpool to work out some compensation for my stress, aggravation, loss of bakeware that burned in the oven. Took us two days to clean the oven mess, including the glass door - don’t know how it didn’t explode. We had to run downstairs- at 84, moving fast is not that easy, to pull circuit breaker. I could not make two birthday cakes that I had committed to. Can’t bake or make casseroles. We need help of some kind.
I purchased a Whirlpool® 4.5 cu. ft. Front Load Washer with Load & Go Dispenser in 2017. By August of 2020 the washing machine was no longer working. The machine would continue to fill with water and not shut off. The machine would then give an error of E01 and F03 and drain all water within 5 minutes of the wash load starting. I had a certified Whirlpool technician come and diagnose the problem for $99. The technician said these error codes happen ALL THE TIME on Whirlpool washers. The technician tried to replace the water pressure switch with no success. He then spoke to a corporate office and was told we would have to replace the motherboard for over $500. The total cost for the diagnosis and repair was almost the exact price I paid for a new washer just 3 years earlier. I will NEVER purchase any Whirlpool appliance ever again.
Whirlpool Gold Fridge Model GR2SHWXP002 purchased on August 15, 2007 for $1,368.77. Only repair issue so far was water leaking from the Water Inlet Valve Item # 949403. I bought a new part on Aug 8, 2011 for $73.45 and replaced it myself. The plastics on the fridge door have yellowed. No smoking in the house so not sure why the plastic has changed colour??? Would I buy one again?? Yes I love the water through the door feature and the automatic ice maker. 10 years old now and no major problems.
I purchase a new Whirlpool Calypso with Catalyst Washing Machine in 2006 after a house fire. Thinking that I was buying a great machine. I was so upset with my house burning that I never thought about the washing destroying my towels, rugs and sweaters until it was too late on the guarantee. I called the company and ask if there were any more complaints about this machine, and of course they said no. I ask if there was a recall and they said no. I told them that there needed to be a recall of this machine. I so want them to see the towels that I have to use. I am so embarrassed of my towels that I have to buy new when company comes. I made no difference on the price that I paid for the towels. They all were destroyed by this Whirlpool Washer. I have had enough, I am buying a new Washer and it will not be a Whirlpool. I believe that the right thing to do is for the Whirlpool company to put a recall on this machine and give our money back. I had a friend that is in charge of another washer company and had him to look at it. He said that if that was his customer complaining about his washer that they would automatically bring the customer another new machine. I wish I had went with his company. Shame on Whirlpool for treating their customers like they have.
I have a top-freezer model WRT5715MYW. This week will mark the 3rd time Ive had a service call to complain about food freezing in the refrigerator compartment. The last time the repairman told me I couldnt place food in the center of the refrigerator since that is where the cold air from the freezer compartment comes down into the refrigerator compartment. This time when I called to schedule the repair call, the woman at the appliance store where I purchased this told me she also has a Whirpool refrigerator and she cant place any food on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator due to freezing. So this 21 cu ft refrigerator has a lot less usable space than I was led to believe when I purchased it. I would not recommend this product due to this reason. Beware of that channel that comes down the center of the back of the refrigerator. It seems like a design flaw to me.
I like my dishwasher very much. Because we have hard well water I use Lemi Shine to cut down on any deposits. The top shelf is adjustable so that helps with large pans getting clean.
What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.
Two water heaters three yrs old that went kaput. Thankfully, they are under warranty. However, the tech that I called out said that his company doesnt work on Whirlpool because they are junky and they try to blame the tech if something doesnt work. I called to get new part, and of course now, I get to pay for labor. The lady on the phone actually suggested that I hire an electrician and replace a breaker instead of receiving parts for Whirlpool. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I echo all of the same concerns as the other posts. Im done with Whirlpool.
I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.
Efficient. I like the look and the controls. I trust the Whirlpool brand, but have purchased other brands. This is probably the best dishwasher I have owned. My only regret is that it is louder than expected.
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer approximately 4 years ago thinking we were purchasing a top-of-the-line washer. The first year went great. I was very impressed with how it washed. My clothes came out cleaner than ever before; I loved it. But shortly after the warranty expired, one of the water pumps began leaking out all over the floor. We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!
I had an addition added to my home in 9/2007, which included a new bathroom. A whirlpool hot water tank was added. This week, I woke up to no hot water, so I called the whirlpool customer number regarding the warranty on the model FG1F4034T3NOV. T hey told me the serial number shows its out of warranty, although I may have only had it since 2007. They also said there was a screen that needed to be clean under the bottom of, it that if not clean, would make it stop working. Since homeowners where not cleaning it, they have made a replacement door part that would fix it, and do away with the problem, but I would have to pay $35 for it. I asked them, since the serial number shows that the part has not been replaced on this unit, why not just send it to me, and I pay to have it put on. The person said no, you will have to pay for it if I wanted the part to fix it . Although my builder did not give me the receipt for it, thats just not right. If a manufacturer knows they are having problems with their product, which require a part replacement, and they have produced one, they should be willing to give the part to everyone with the product that request it. On top of that, this model has the left hand threaded thermocouple, which no one around seems to carry. I am totally disappointed with Whirlpool, and right now would not consider buying, or have any more of their products installed into my home.
I bought a portable Whirlpool dishwasher on Jan.16 2016. We didnt buy extended warranty. After all, it was suppose to be new, should outlive us. It wont drain, my husband took the top off to see if he could fix it since I was told by Sears that no repair person is available in our area. I am only 10 Km from Saint John N.B. He found he couldnt take the front or back off, its all one piece, he is 84 years old. Under the top, it shows different colored screws, which tells us it was a used one or had been re-conditioned. I am very disappointed in Sears, have been a customer for many years. Everything in my house is Kenmore except for the dishwasher, only because they had no Kenmore. I might add that it wasnt used much. Its just two elderly people and only used when we have company. I cant afford another one. I bought this one from 1,000.00 I won on Lotto Max. I am so upset about this. Appliances should last longer. My Kenmores have.
Whirlpool built in oven. This piece of junk quit operating 6 months after purchase a brand new oven. I have called numerous times only to be treated like ** on you guys shoes. My next move is court. I didnt pay 1150.00 for nothing. I purchased a then what I thought to be a best buy. Very very disappointed.
This washer was expensive, platinum line. Clothes never smelled fresh and clean like they should. There is not enough water to cover and clean. After 4 years it started smelling dank and unpleasant even after cleaning cycle is run. Now I discover it has been leaking for quite a while. It will be 6 years old in July. The top wont stay up. This happened months ago. The part alone is 250.00 according to several sites. I just prop it up. Very displeased with this poorly constructed, expensive rip off!
A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.
Cabrio WTW8200YWO - We purchased this washer five years ago. About a year ago it started getting noisier and noisier on spin cycle. Now it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. A Google search quickly revealed this is a ubiquitous problem with these washers. As we are in our 70s and dont have kids at home, we are very light users of the washer. First, I would suggest that no one buy this washer. Second, I suggest that Whirlpool should recall these washers. I called Whirlpool and it turns out they clearly know about this issue. The good news is they will offer you a discount on repairs or even on a new machine. The bad news is it will still cost you several hundred dollars to fix their design defect. I suggest that you avoid purchasing Whirlpool products both because of their defective design and because of Whirlpools unwillingness to take responsibility for these problems.
We bought a new brand Whirlpool, ice berg, 2 door refrigerator in 2006. It worked fine for 6 months and then started giving all the problems. Until now, we have repaired it at least 10-15 times with company servicemen and also private repair shops. We are just so tired and frustrated will all that we have gone through because of this fridge. Today, the main door just came out and it is probably the 16th incident. We are hardworking people and take a lot pleasure and find lot of happiness in buying something new. It took us almost 2 years to save money for this new fridge with cost us about Rs. 20,000. But I should mention this that we have already more than Rs. 10,000 in repairs.I am sure this would just be another email in one of your inboxes but wanted to write this and convey the message that we are hurt. We do not want to take any legal actions as middle class men in India do not have the resources to do that. But I would surely not buy anything of your brand going forward and would not suggest anyone for it. Writing this in assumption that you understand the pain middle class men goes through to but something worth Rs. 20k and spends another Rs. 10k for repairs. We had high expectations from your product but that was not to be.Following were the problems we face in last 4 years: 1. Refrigerator not cooling (5-7 times); 2. Top door broken (1 time); 3. Main door broken (1 time); 4. Water leak problems (5-7 times). I hope someone will read this and forward it to concerned department.
I purchased a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side Refrigerator on June 15, 2013. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator does not feel that cold and when I put a thermometer in there, it reads 42-43 deg although the refrigerator is set at 37 deg. The tech was just here and told me to put a thermometer in a glass of water and read it again. His thermometer read 46 deg when reading a bottle in the door although he explained that he had had the door opened for a while during his visit. He said his reading of the bottle upon opening the door was 36 deg. I do not believe that. I just measured some bottled water temperature and it was 48 deg. I have a hard time believing the temp went up 12 degrees and he has been gone for a half hour. My food is cold but not like you expect from a refrigerator. My bottled water and soda, etc., are not very cold. The worst is the water dispenser. That water is barely cooler than tap water. There is almost no difference. The water temperature has been in the 60s when Ive measured it. The tech says the first glass wont be cold (have never had that with any other refrigerator) but even if you get the second and third glasses of water, they arent any colder... maybe a couple of degrees. If anyone else is having this problem and Whirlpool will do nothing, then Im interested in legal action.
Ive read the reviews on this appliance. First of all the all of the washing machine being manufactured are designed to save energy and water. The water is loaded in the machine based on the WEIGHT of the clothes. the washing machines no longer have the features to (small, medium, large load) so the consumer can fill the machine. Having said that, most sales representatives will tell you appliances manufactured today are no longer designed to last 15-20 years, although they are way more expensive than the workhorses made in the past.I got rid of my fancy Samsung washing machine because it broke down at least 4 times within the first year of purchase and decided to go with the whirlpool because Ive had a workhorse in the past that was worked excellent. I love the fact the washers no longer have the agitator in the middle which allow me to wash my king sized bedding without the machine becoming unbalanced or making a lot of noise. So far the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer is working very well. Id rather give the Whirlpool a chance any day over the new johnny come latelys, which are more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but are failing miserably in performance. I also love my Cabrio 8.8 dryer. They both work better than the Samsung models I got rid of.
We bought a small refrigerator/freezer Model WRT112CZJZ for a guest house. When not in use it was turned off at the unit control panel with the doors left open. There was a power failure and when the power was restored the refrigerator turned itself back on. Needless to say it must have been running for 2 weeks with the doors open and the condensation filled the holding tank and then proceeded to overflow on the wood floor. The floor was ruined. There was no indication in the manual to warn of the unit restarting when power is restored so it must be unplugged or the circuit breaker turned off to avoid a similar problem.
I purchased a very expensive Cabrio top-loading washer thinking I would never have to worry because supposedly it’s the top of the line, right? Well, I have it a few years; the first week they replaced the basket because it was ruining my clothes. And then I had to replace the pump because of a coin getting caught and putting a hole in the pump. Really? What the heck? Now the basket is all shredded at the top. Obviously that isn’t right, so what do I do now? Replace the basket again? Who gives them the right to charge so much for a piece of junk? Plus, it’s supposed to save on water, but I feel that the clothes don’t really clean well. They hardly feel wet coming out of the machine.
I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF990SLAM00 in May of 2013. My wife started noticing ice build up on the ice maker in the refrigerator section of this French Door model. We had it serviced for the same problem 4 times and the problem still existed. At this point, Whirlpool offer to give us our money back, and here is where things got interesting. My wife spoke with a Sheila who was to issue a check to a third party company who would then pick up the refrigerator and give us the check. Sounds simple enough, huh? The company was to get the check in 7-10 business days so we bought a new refrigerator, a Samsung this time, and scheduled its delivery for the time frame we were told the non-functioning fridge would be picked up. My wife could not get in touch with Sheila, which was always a problem, and we talked to a Beth who told us that this whole process had not even been started yet. Well, we are having our new fridge delivered and still waiting on our check and for someone to come and pick up this American-made piece of crap! We wanted to buy American, but this is what we got, a piece of crap!!
In 2/2007, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer (GHW9400PW) and have had constant F06 failures. After the repairman debrided the pump, he felt the issue might be electrical, if not resolved, it will fail again. Now, it needs a $400 to $500 electrical system and cannot be guaranteed that will end failures as these washers have had many problems. It cost $1000 and only lasted 4 years before the failures appeared. Whirlpool only offers a one-year warranty, which is not enough to cover the future problems these machines are prone to developing.
