We have had this Cabrio washer/dryer pair for 8 years now. I didnt want to buy a front loader at the time since they were relatively new and was afraid to roll the dice. We saw the ads for this pair, the washer was the largest top loader at the time and didnt have the agitator (which I liked) so we bought them from Best Buy. I purchased the extended service plan (thank God) because we started having issues within the first month. First was the dryer, it was making a funny squeaking noise. We called to have it looked at and the tech said the drum was out of round. He ordered a new one and it showed up almost oblong. Returned it and got a second (same thing). We straightened it out and put it in. Two weeks later the control panel went out. Repaired it. Then the washer started. In the first 3 years of owning these we had called to repair the washer 4 times and the dryer 4 times. We could have got them replaced after the 5th call. Of course we had replaced all the faulty stuff and the pair settled down for 2 years. Now I have had to repair the washers control panel myself, the dryer sounds like it is coming apart and sometimes runs for hours, and now the washer cant wash in any cycle but delicate because the drum bangs around and cant self balance any more. What junk!!! I know people that have purchased low end machines and have had no issues for decades, maybe a random belt or something simple. I wouldnt buy another Whirlpool set if they were the last manufacturer on the planet. They should be ashamed that they didnt recall these things for all the problems they had.

I bought a Whirlpool wdf760sadmo. It was Oct 2014. It broke 31 days later. Lowes said they would not take it back. Called Whirlpool, they sent a repairman out a week later. They ordered parts and came back two weeks later. The parts were not the correct ones. Ordered more parts. This time back in a week. Ok about three weeks have gone by with a broken dishwasher sitting at my house. Got it fixed. A month later a different problem. Call Whirlpool, wait, on hold for about 20 or 30 minutes. They sent a repairman out who ordered more parts which will be in in two weeks. Meanwhile I am without a dishwasher again. I have had to take a day off work each time they have came to repair it. I have spent way too much time on this thing. I wont be buying another Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer on March 2010 from Leons under the dont pay for 18 months. It took 2 months for me to receive it. I thought it was a great washing machine. I made my last payment on July 2011.On the first week of August, the machine stopped working. The F 51 code appeared. I then looked up the code. I also looked up complaints. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told it would be $81.00 per hour for service plus parts. I asked why there are so many complaints about this machine, and after spending a good amount of money on what I believed was a good make of washing machine, I could not believe that they would expect a customer to then turn around and fork out that kind of money for repair.I was told that the one year warranty has expired, so it is my responsibility to pay. I am a widow with 2 children, working 7 days a week to pay my regular bills and now they expect me to pay for repairs on a washing machine that is only 15 months old. Thanks Whirlpool. I will be sure to tell everyone not to purchase Whirlpool products and thanks to my neighbors for letting me use their washing machine because I cant afford to fix mine.

I bought a new top loader Whirlpool washing machine. Water would not drain enough so that the clothes could be dried in the dryer. It does not have the thing in the middle that you put your clothes around. My clothes get tangled together all the time. A repair person came and said that I needed to load the clothes in a different way. Different from what the salesperson told me. Still tangled and still not dry enough to put in the dryer. I have to use the drain spin cycle every time!!! My dryer still takes 120 minutes to dry a load!!! Second repairman comes and tells me I need a new computer system and I will have to use the laundromat. A month later they tell me they cannot get the computer and will replace the machine which is still brand new. Bring new machine and my clothes still will no spin enough so that they are dry enough to put in the dryer!! So sick of this and will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!!

Misinformation provided about their products - I ordered the Whirlpool 30 Drop-In Electric Range pictured in their literature with a gray oven door. When I had it installed, I thought it had a green film covering the oven door. It is not a film. It is the oven door color. It does not show that or talk about it in any of the literature. I would not have bought or paid to have this range installed. The green color does not go in my kitchen! I would sue them for misinformation if I had the money to spare! I will never buy another Whirlpool item.

Do NOT buy the Whirlpool Cabrio washer...it doesnt actually wash your clothes! Most clothing still half dry after the wash (didnt get any water on them) and they are still smelling sweat after the wash! Also doesnt clean basic stains that others washers clean. Even if you add water manually to the washer to soak your clothes, the clothes on top wont be agitated at all, hence the reason the clothes are still dirty after a wash. Poorly engineered washer... its a lemon as it doesnt do what it is supposed to do (wash clothes). Biggest scam ever from Whirlpool and shouldnt be allowed to be sold to consumers anymore!

He said that he will have to check and see if they have the part that is needed to repair the machine, they will contact me the next day. No one contacted me. I called on July 14, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it has to be order. It will take about 2 weeks for it to reach them, no one contacted me since. I contacted them (Unicomer Trinidad) on August 04, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it will take 2-3 weeks to reach them. I did filled out a form on the Whirlpool support site about 2 weeks ago but no one contacted me. I contacting Whirlpool US HQ by telephone, they gave me a number for Whirlpool Florida. I was told that they are responsible for my area but when I try calling the number, it was out of service. When I contacted back Whirlpool US HQ, I was told that they cannot help me check the website for the local representative which I could not find. This washing machine is 10 months old plus I took the extended warranty. It is a Duet WFW94HEXL2 washer.

I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

In Aug of 2014, the motherboard needed to be replaced as it was not forcing a defrost when needed. I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. In Dec 2016, just two and half years after the motherboard was replaced, the exact same problem re-occurred. Again I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. Within two years half of the racks rods completely rotted away. 3 years later the washer is busted - most likely pump which was probably blocked by one of the pieces of the rack rods. Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

I tried to call the Whirlpool number a handful of times, but unfortunately, I was on hold the entire time and could not speak with a rep. I would not recommend this product to anyone and I am very dissatisfied!

After the one-year warranty ran out, my wife ran the self-cleaning feature, which since Ive found is a well-documented problem in online forums. The oven overheats and blows out the thermostat, fuse and some other cylinder device, all in all a $600 repair. I am furious that both Whirlpool and Ikea (where we purchased the electric oven) keep completely silent on this issue, not bothering to tell homeowners to use this function at their own risk. Just wipe it out! The well known nature of this self-destruction and potential high cost of repair should be information given to consumers, but of course this would affect their sales numbers. Hope they send me the non-catching fire type of controller.I am going to predict that the company will provide a response that says something like” “Hey, we really want to help you get your hot water back! Just contact us privately so we can discuss this without everyone being able to see what we tell you to do.” So far we are just out of hot water while we went through their diagnostics. They told me that this often happens and the best way to fix it is to let the hot water run in the shower for 20 minutes, then hold down the reset button on the controller for 5 seconds, and do that every time I experience this problem. I hope mine doesnt catch fire. Fire is bad.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater in August of 2008. The unit had a 12-year warranty on the tank. On January 21, 2012, I discovered that the water heater sprung a leak somewhere in the tank shell; it’s not the pressure relief valve, thermostat or anode port. The tank was never abused and operated well within its design limits. Not sure what caused it to start leaking into the catch pan and out onto my laundry room floor.I purchased the tank at Lowes and went for the longest tank warranty to reduce replacement intervals. I sent Whirlpool an email on 1/22/2012 explaining my problem and I referenced this site. The next day 1/23/2012 I receive a call from Whirlpool (Chris) asking me about my problem. I explained again and they gave me an RMA number and told me to go to Lowe’s and they would replace my hot water heater. I went straight to Lowe’s customer service and within an hour I was on my way home with a brand new hot water heater. Thank you, Chris, Whirlpool and Lowe’s. I am very happy with my outcome on this issue.

I purchased and had professionals install a Whirlpool 30-gallon water heater in 2007. Since that time I have had issues with the unit not staying lite, but have been able to deal with it myself. Then in November 2011, it wouldnt work. After paying a plumber to come out and check everything, we got on the phone with Whirlpool who goes through their generic checklist, and after all that they agreed the control was no good. They sent a replacement part out at which time I had to pay to have put in. Now, March 2012, the same thing is going on with the unit. Customer service is their same polite self and have to go through their checklist, but unfortunately we were cut off. This was followed by calls and trying to get the same operator, who was supposed to call me back. It didnt happen. I then called and was hung up on. Finally, I had to work with another operator who again wanted to go through her checklist! She finally agreed the same control unit must be bad and is sending me a new one so I can pay to have it installed! They will not admit the unit is bad and replace it completely. I guess when buying Whirlpool you need to understand they dont back their products. It appears to be normal that a control unit from Whirlpool only has a life expectancy of 3 or 4 months. My new fridge is extremely hard to open. The technician that was sent out told me that there is too much suction building up inside the fridge and freezer and that is why it has to be yanked to open. This is not only annoying it means the fridge is constantly being pulled forward out of place. Technicians solution was to deactive the castors under the fridge. At the time he was here I did not realize that I could then no longer move the fridge out of its place to clean. I called Whirlpool and complained and was told that they could do nothing more for me because the fridge is in good working order. I hardly would call this good working order. They also informed me that if I wished to clean under the fridge or the coils at the back it would require a service call to move the fridge and I WOULD BE CHARGED EACH TIME. Needless to say I AM VERY, VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION.

This is my third Whirlpool refrigerator. The first two lasted about 20 year
This is my third Whirlpool refrigerator. The first two lasted about 20 years each, and although not fancy, they were always serviceable. This one is different.Because of my kitchen cabinets, the only refrigerator with as much storage capacity (cu ft) as my old one was what seemed to be an almost identical Whirlpool, with the only exception being a slight difference in the ice maker. But this one is a disaster. The water/ice dispenser has been changed to one with one space only for your container. The water that comes out is warm, because the routing of the tube has been changed and it no longer goes through the chilled refrigerator space; the ice pours out so hard that usually half of it lands on the floor. In order to operate the dispenser using anything with less than a 4 diameter, you need two hands: One to depress the lever behind your glass and one to hold the glass farther away from the refrigerator. Failure to do that results in a wet mess. After dispensing crushed ice, it continues to send small pieces flying long after I change the switch to cubes. But that is the least inconvenience. In an apparent engineering change to meet energy efficiency, the new refrigerator recycles air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment. That and other changes in the frost-free engineering have resulted in:Uneven cooling in the refrigerator. In fact, it froze $1800 worth of insulin pens. I was advised by the Whirlpool representative that I shouldnt have put them on the shelf where the vent from the freezer spews out freezing air. Spoiled food in the freezer. Everything in the freezer develops a thick coating of ice crystals within a short time. This dries out the meat, shrinks the popsicles, and destroys the quality of fish and fowl. At this moment, I have two pork chops that defrosted in a plastic container on my kitchen counter. I bought them fresh, and now the 10-12 oz. of pork is swimming in over 1/2 c. of water.Interior fittings are poorly made and shelves and drawers do not work easily. The allegedly stainless exterior is difficult to clean, and many reviewers have remarked that they find rust within a few months. I could go on. There is more poor engineering, and an array of noises filling the kitchen, but you get the picture. I wish I could trash this refrigerator and buy a good one, but that isnt feasible both because of budgetary and space constraints. The last service person who came out sighed and told me that the refrigerator was cold, and that meant that the unit was operating okay! I HATE this refrigerator and struggling with it from day to day. My hope is that no one will buy a Whirlpool ever again. I certainly wont.Updated on 12/05/2017: Whirlpool, faced with my wrath over a refrigerator set on LOW that froze $1800 worth of insulin, provided a replacement (25 Cu Ft side-by-side refrigerator). I have owned two previous Whirlpool refrigerators -- for 20 years each -- as well as other Whirlpool major appliances. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE. The replacement is deficient in every design and functional aspect I can think of. Temperature is uneven in both freezer and refrigerator. Food in the freezer is coated with snow within a week and dried out and spoiled within a month. Ice comes out with such force that it ricochets out of the glass and around the floor. Water from the dispenser is warm. Leafy vegetables spoil within 2 days. Whirlpool sent technicians who informed me that the unit was working properly because it was cold. PIECE OF JUNK! DONT BUY ANYTHING MADE BY WHIRLPOOL!

I then had to get Maytag/Whirpool to send me the same model refrigerator which they then subsequently forgot to include the ice maker with the refrigerator. It has been nothing short of an act of Congress to get in touch with someone from their Customer Service department for them to send the ice maker that they forgot to include. Ive had to call them at least 15 times to get them to resend the missing ice maker. Absolute nightmare. 10/10 will avoid buying Whirlpool in the future.

I bought new hot water heater. I installed it did and it did not work. I called them, and they sent a new part. A service man installed it, and it still did not work - he was unable to get it working. They said my gas supply line 1/2 od was too small. I had it replaced to 5/8 od 1/2id, and it still did not work. I called them again. They offered to send more parts and try again. This is a brand new water heater, never fired. I asked if they would give me a ra number so I could return it to the store. He would not give it to me. He insisted he send some one out to try to repair it. Meanwhile I have had no hot water for 2 days. He told me do what I have to do and hung up on me. So I removed the heater and took it back to Lowes, where they were glad to give my money back. But still, I lost a day of work and paid the gas yo bring it back. I went to home depot bought a GE hot water heater. I had it installed in about 15 minutes and it is working fine.

Purchased model # WRX7355D8MOO through Lowes summer of 2013. By summer of 2014 ice started building up under freeze drawer. Little did I realize the compressor was failing, air flow was stopped up. Ice maker failed. In 2016 water dispenser calibration off, freezer failed. Called in certified Whirlpool repair. They spent three days troubleshooting problems. Repairmen told me, not to spend any more money to repair this fridge, buy a new fridge. I spent $2300 on this fridge. Its only 2 1/2 years old. Whirlpool better get their quality control issues resolved or shut down the plant. I know many part are made in Mexico, poor quality. Why pay for an expensive appliance that only last two years.

We purchased a Whirlpool Countertop Microwave (model MT4155) at HHGregg on 6/02/2012. (This was a replacement for another oven that failed after a couple of years - NOT a Whirlpool.) On 6/04/2013, i.e., 2 days past the standard 1 yr warranty expiration, the oven went nuts. I was cooking a plateful of baked potatoes on the auto setting. When the potatoes were done, I opened the door to take them out and the oven started to run! WITH the door open! When I shut the door, it stopped. So the only way to get the oven to operate was to OPEN the door. I dont think this is a safe or effective practice. Knowing it was two days past the warranty, I called customer service anyway just to see what they would say. To my surprise, they (I talked to two different people) were VERY pleasant and accommodating, and offered to cover the cost of repairs and even set up an appointment for the authorized repair person, and then called to verify the appt. as well. Great! I was impressed! The repairman showed up as scheduled and seemed puzzled at first, but he dismantled the outside cabinet and determined the fault was in the door switch. He wasnt sure he had a replacement with him, but he did find one, put the new part in the oven, and re-assembled everything. We made sure it worked and he then left. Fast forward 5.5 months, when again I was cooking potatoes (boiled this time. Maybe the oven doesnt like potatoes!). I had the timer set for 20 minutes on 100%. I was out of the room when it quit cooking, but I think it ran for about 6 minutes and then just shut off and could not be persuaded to restart. The clock continued to count down, and all the other bells and whistles still functioned - it just wouldnt cook. Major hassle. The following day, I was looking at it, messing around to see if I could figure out what was wrong, and discovered that if I pushed on the door latch just a little, the oven would run. Well, thats a nifty workaround, as long as you arent doing any more than briefly reheating something, but not so great if you are actually trying to cook something. I continued to do this for the next few days and then suddenly one night it reverted to the first bad behavior - only running when the door was open. I was able to get that to stop, but the following day, it refused to work at all and it is now sitting here uselessly, just a little over 1.5 years old. I want to go buy another oven (and YES - a different brand!) - my SO wants to repair this one, again. After reading the experiences of others on this site, I REALLY cant see the point in repairing esp not if I have to pay this time (which I probably will), and also when it seems to be a faulty part/design causing this problem. I dont have the time or patience to deal with an unreliable appliance, esp one that I use often. I have not tried to call customer service yet, but Im not expecting great things, not this time. Planned obsolescence? Sure makes me wonder.

I bought a Whirlpool Cambrio washer/dryer set last year. I hate them. They dont get the clothes clean, let alone wet! I couldnt believe it! I put my grandsons bib in the wash and it came out completely dry with the stuck on food still there. My husbands shirts still smell like the cologne he put on! I asked a Home Depot sales person about this and he says, yeah, we hear that a lot. !!!!!!! Im going back to a washer with an agitator so that I know my clothes are being cleaned. This whole water control business is insane. Whats the point if you have to wash the clothes several times to feel like they are marginally clean? The problem is that the industry has decreased the amount of models that still have an agitator so my selection is very slim. First and LAST time I ever buy Whirlpool.

My ref. stopped working. I troubleshoot it and did not work. I filled out a service request back on February 2nd, 2015. I got an email back from a subcontractor called Active Appliance INC. with a date service on February 6th, 2015, 4 days after my service request, and that is the only available date. The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! I think this is the worst POOR service I got within the last 20 years!!!!! I hope someone at Whirlpool care about their services and can contact me to handle the issue.

We have ALL Whirlpool appliances in our home. This was our second home so we were not here to use these for a long time. We were preparing our other home and our parents home to sell. Our French door refrigerator is almost 2 years old and we live here now. My husband opened the icemaker door to see why we dont have ice. There was a wire in there. We called the local Whirlpool authorized service man and he said the wire is not hanging down to connect it. He tried to channel a new wire and said it must be crooked in there, he cant get through the insulation (no channel). He asked us if anyone had ever worked on it. We bought it brand new. Home Depot delivered, unboxed and set up. He said we need a new door. Whirlpool will not stand behind this! I am so disappointed! I thought I was doing the right thing. Good name, made in the USA. I was wrong! I definitely do NOT recommend Whirlpool!! I am so sorry that I spent so much money on 3 homes of Whirlpool appliances!!

We purchased a top of the line (we thought) Whirlpool stainless dishwasher 15 months ago from HHGregg. All was fine until 2 weeks ago - it produced a burning smell and was making a funny noise. We had it looked out. The motor is burning out. I called Whirlpool and explained the issue. There is nothing they can do. It is over 12 months. Really? They cant stand behind their product? I understand if it was a small part or such but an entire motor burning out in just over a year? I know that not all products can be perfect, some times mistakes slip through the line. I guess it was silly of me to expect a company in todays age to stand behind their name and product. Obviously, with this company, it is buyer beware.

Replaced an old water heater with new Whirlpool 40 gal. short natural gas water heater N40561-403. Good instruction, very clear directions. Also purchased at Lowes was a Utilitech universal gas water heater installation kit. The nipples provided in the kit screwed very loosely into cold water inlet and hot water outlet. I used teflon tape and finished the installation. When I turned the water on both fittings leaked. I couldnt tighten the nipples any further so I shut the water off and drained the tank a bit and reinstalled the nipples with at least 8-9 wraps of teflon tape. Im not sure if that is normal or if nipples were under size or if the cold water inlet and hot water outlet were larger dia. than normal. FYI.

Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. I initially purchased all new Whirlpool products as part of my new home purchase in a Pulte subdivision, June, 2011. My WP microwave failed to heat in 2012 and the replacement of the Magnetron and Inverter and service was covered under warranty (would have cost me $493.51). Sadly, the microwave again failed to heat in 2014. I was so disgusted with this second failure, I decided to live without a MW until January, 2016 when I paid for my second service call and learned, once again, I needed a replacement Magnetron and Inverter, to the tune of $400. Both servicemen told me the 2011 magnetron/ inverter mechanisms were new technology and did not last long. Again, sadly, when I contacted Whirlpool, they would not admit to their defective product line and indicated they could do nothing since I am out of warranty. It is unconscionable that a corporation is not liable for their defective products.

Whirlpool Duet 2009 Model WFW9400SW02 - Worst experience ever with a new Whirlpool front Load washing machine. It broke down with error codes F28, F70, F71 13th month just after warranty and was leaking water. Bought 1 yr 153.00 Whirlpool extended warranty. Many reviews in internet have same complaint. Immediately had it repaired after waiting my 60 days to use warranty, but did not work after the door latch switch and one of 3 main circuit boards was replaced which was over $600.00. That was 2 visits. Fired them and had warranty company send different repair Co. They came twice with a cost of $840.00 and worked for 30 days and then had no power. 3rd repair company came out and wanted $350.00 to order part. I was offered $1195.00 cash or $1499.00 replacement top of line Whirlpool WFL98HEBU. Nice! But only 1 year warranty and I had to pay 200.00 shipping. I decided to take the money since I did not want to risk the break down on the new washer. The reviews on the new washer were not favorable with break down as the main complaint. 4 repairs in 1 year is lemon law on my warranty. My repairs were 4 in 45 days.

Whirlpool Duet Steam Front Loading Washer Model #WFW9750WW01 - The washer is only 5 years old and sounds like the space shuttle landing while in the spin cycle. Cost to repair parts only will be $896.87. The bearings among other parts are shot. I will NEVER own another Whirlpool appliance under any circumstance. Angry is putting it lightly!!!

I went from an HE front loader to an HE top loader (Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7000DW0) due to the risk of mildew with the front loader. Im not the only one doing laundry and if someone else does it, it always seems that they shut the door when empty, contributing to moisture and mold that needed to be cleaned out of the gaskets. I am so unhappy with my top loader HE washer. When I stop the machine and look, I always see my laundry half covered with dingy water, sometimes part of it still dry at the top and it is disgusting. I frequently have to rewash loads due to detergent getting trapped in folds or pockets created that hold on to dirt and lint, even being careful with the detergent amount. I run the washer now every time with settings of deep water, extra rinse, heavy load and presoak with instructions, with settings taped to the top for others. At almost 1 1/2 hours each load, we just cant keep up. The laundry still forms pockets and sheets form a giant tent over the entire load that has to be unraveled at the end of the cycle and wound so tight it had no chance of rinsing. I had to get a repair person out because it got out of balance and he had a small hand-held computer to enter a code to rebalance it. When we discussed the issues I was having, he was ready for everything I was doing wrong. He told me I can not wash blankets or large items (I thought I was buying large capacity with such an enormous drum). He told me they have caught people adding water with a bucket during cycles and that the washer software can tell them if people are trying to work around the system which voids the warranty.Apparently, this is a common complaint he blames on the government wanting high efficiency so they make the numbers look good, sacrificing the ability of the washer to perform at what a consumer expects. I have never seen the water in my drum higher than a couple inches and the drum is HUGE, but never used to capacity. He told me his wife demanded they get a commercial washer because she was so angry about how poorly it cleaned. I feel so scammed and I wish I could have my old agitator back. $100 for the repair call, $150 for the code to be put in and Im on warning that they will see if I try to add water, run out of balance or dont comply with any reason they can void the warranty by just checking the data the washer is collecting on us.

Piece of crap. We built home 2 years ago and have all gold series appliances! They are all CRAP. Wish we would’ve upgraded to KitchenAid. Dishwasher won’t wash, microwave has hot spots and has to be unplugged and plugged back in often to work. Freezer side of the refrigerator will stop making ice because it freezes up often! I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!

We purchased a brand new Cabrio Washer and Dryer in 2008 from Lowes. The salesman at the time suggested I purchase the extended warranty. It was because of the state of the art controls in the machines that could cost plenty if they had to be replaced. I was a bit skeptical at first. After several weeks, I returned to the store and purchased a 4-year extended warranty. This was probably the best money I expended in some time. In less than three years of ownership, I have had to use the warranty twice for the same faulty part (water control valve) that the repairperson told me was problematic. Then after reading the horror stories that consumers submitted to this website, I felt compelled to voice my opinion as well. I have been a die hard Whirpool product fan my entire life because they used to manufacture quality, long lasting products. I am moving soon. And I will have to purchase new appliances for the kitchen. But they will not be manufactured by any Whirlpool company. Shame on you Whirlpool!

Bought new from menards. Doesnt work properly, doesnt wash right and cleans poorly. It too bad because I thought I was upgrading from my old Whirlpool washer that was 15 years old so I order the new cogs for the agitator on the old machine and now using it again. Works better than the new one. Sad that whirlpool wont stand behind the product. Might as well be made in china.

When I first got my energy eff washer it would not fill up with water. Only about 7 inches or so. Then I read that is you wet some clothes first it goes on wait before it starts. Works excellent with the agitator. Have done clothes without detergent and everything comes out clean. My beef is there is no lint trap so rely on the dryer to get rid of it.

I used this washer under 200 times in 5 and half years. Whirlpool offered nothing and I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washer in 2009. It stopped working and I found that it needs a new control panel and recirculating pump which will cost $390, including labor (plus the cost of the service call to diagnose the problem). I would not have expected to have this type of problem with a washer within 3 years of purchase. I cannot recommend this machine.

Front-loading does not do good job of rinsing. The Whirlpool Duet will not last longer than 2 years. Whirlpool recommends that owners purchase a new washer every 2 years. Whirlpool suggests owners purchase new clothes each week to avoid washing. Any owner would be required to quit their job in order to wash clothes. The Whirlpool Duet front-loader requires 12 hours per load. This means that only 2 loads can be washed in a 24-hour period. Each load requires 10 rinse cycles to remove suds.

I purchased it new in July 2008 for $550, a single homeowner average 4-5 loads a week. First time it broke down, it was just inside the one-year limited warranty. It broke down again Sept. 2011, the basket separated from spinning mechanism. I learned that after $75+ missing day of work, repair tech quoted cost of repair $885 and a minimum of 10 days waiting for part to arrive.I called Whirlpool, the guy on the phone was nice but told me I was out of luck. Even if I had purchased the 3-year warranty, I would still be out of luck. The washer was manufactured in April 2008. What a piece of junk. Save your money and skip it. I wish I had. Aside: Whirlpool, whatever happened to standing behind your products? I used to think you were a quality brand. Im extremely disappointed and wont be purchasing any of your products in the future.

I purchased a Whirlpool High Efficiency washer and dryer (Model WED4900XWO) from Lowes in March 2013. This washer has performed miserably. I dread each day when I have to use it. The groaning sound is annoying. My husband and I try to leave the house when the washer is being used. We have tried all cycles and combinations of cleaning detergents to get clothes to come out clean. On a regular basis white clothes will come out with spots or discolored to the point the clothes have to be thrown in trash. This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

Pathetic pathetic service!!! Unsatisfactory service!!! First of all, I would like to tell everyone who ever reads this, that please please please never ever use any Whirlpool products, as their service sucks, their response sucks too, and zero co-operation from their people, which will make you regret to have used their products in future. Please note I registered a complaint on the whirlpool no. **.The complaint was that the washing machine used by us had issues, the power button/ on & off button had come out, and this was clearly stated while registering the complaint. I get a call from Mr. ** (Representative of shree enterprises bibwewadi, pune) and the power button issue was well informed to him as well over the phone by me. He arrived to our place without any new material, he sees the machine and interchanges the buttons, i.e. the broken power button is replaced by other button from my machine which was less used compared to the power button. I had to pay a sum of rs. 400/- for the pathetic service I received from your end.I expect a response from your side within next 4 hours, or I might have to escalate this issue!!! (Please note Whirlpool team that I had submitted the same on your website yesterday, yet I have not received any response from your side). (Whirlpool rating- 0 out of 100). Thanks. (And whoever reads this, please tell me where else can I post this review of mine so that I shall alert everyone that how bad whirlpool service is)...

A Whirlpool dishwasher was installed by Skyline, a modular home manufacturer, and we occupied the house on August 21, 2014. The appliance never worked and Whirlpool sent repairmen 9 times over 9 months to either repair or determine if it should be replaced. It washed the dishes exactly 4 times in that time. Complaining to Whirlpool only caused a supervisor to scream at my wife that we were the cause of the malfunction. Nearly every part was replaced & they still refused to exchange it for a replacement new one. The modular home manufacturer received the same treatment appealing for us.

Hi team, I have to lodge this complaint after because of getting continuous
Hi team, I have to lodge this complaint after because of getting continuous problems I have suffered with my Whirlpool fully automatic washing machine top load 11 kg bloom wash 360 degree. I purchased the abovesaid brand new washing machine on 1st Jan 2017. Since the purchase I am struggling with this machine. I raised the fault in the beginning itself and the service was done on 5th of Feb. Jobs sheets enclosed here with.Similar issues kept on arising and whenever I raised those issues with the whirlpool team, they mentioned that company policy is to repair the faulty part if it’s in warranty and they will not replace. They suggested me to go for the AMC and to be on the safer side, I also took AMC under warranty period only. (AMC card - My cheque dates and service details all are mentioned onto it.) Recently I faced another issue on 26th Feb for which ticket was raised. Engineer visited on 27th Feb and advised us to replace the motor part. On 3rd March they replaced motor mechanism and ball-bearings. Then engineer advised us to check the working by giving a trial wash.I started the machine to wash clothes and after 20 mins machine started making abnormal noise. (I have made video of it, audio of the video captured the noise). I again called up the service engineer immediately and informed him about the voice coming out of machine and he gave a lame answer by saying “It is normal sound”. Then I again called Whirlpool and requested senior engineer visit to resolve the issue. Senior engineer visited and told us that one of motor screw wasn’t tighten properly. It opened while running the machine which completely damaged the motor. After that I am continuously calling to service centre to get the updates on my machine motor replacement. Finally they mentioned that they dont have motor part available with them due to company ceased this model productivity. When I raised this issue with the Whirlpool team they mentioned that they can only pay 40% of the machine value, because I had AMC. However, I did mention that this damage is caused by the negligence of their service engineer, but they didn’t discuss anything about it.When I continuously chased them they dropped me an email to refund only the 40% of the machine value. I feel cheated and harassed!! When I bought the machine they gave us 10 years warranty now they mention that motor is not available as it’s a 5 years old model. My grievance is that since I had already taken the AMC and the damage was also caused by their engineer, why I have to bear the loss. I have already struggled a lot with this machine since last 5 years from the day I bought this machine and now I am losing my hard earned money. Kindly do the needful. Documents attached as follows: 1. Serial number of this machine 2. Bill/ Invoice copy from dealer 3. Job sheets4. AMC card (with 3 years extended warranty) Thanks,Pratibha
