Product Reviews:

Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves
Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves the needs of a busy, family kitchen. It is heavily used storing cold foodstuffs to feed our family of four, plus two active grandsons. Being able to re-configure the shelving space enables us to adjust the main compartment accommodating items of different sizes (think a thawing turkey or a 24-can case of soft drinks!) to ensure our most functional usage. The same can be said of its freezer space - it too features built-in slots to reposition shelving for varied size packages and boxes. Convenient in-door water and ice dispensers round out the beneficial features of this attractive appliance.

This diswasher is streamlined and elegantly desiged for any kitchen. It stays externally clean with easy to wipe surfaces. Easy to use controls on the top of the door that cannot be accidentally hit when walking by the item. Plenty of internal space for lots of dishes. Internal silverware rack is easily removalble and not in the way of dishes. It is extremely quiet when running, like a soft hum in the air. A real "bang for your buck".

Called 8/24/15 - spoke with representative about our two year old washer. Nothing Whirlpool can or will do.They have no other complaints about rust inside the lid and inside rim at bleach dispenser nor chipping of paint from lid. When asking the Whirlpool representative about the rust, he assured us there were no other complaints. This is hard to believe since our recent research clearly shows that other brands have had to replace tops due to rust. As for clothes not cleaning, no response to this issue. Whirlpool has not trained salespersons and therefore at the mercy of Lowes hard sales tactics and we were very delinquent in researching numerous complaints before purchasing Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Model WTW8240YWD - Ranked lowest possible from ConsumerAffairs with hundreds of complaints. Whirlpool should be ashamed of product - clothes do not come clean, there is no soak cycle, no way to open mid cycle without losing all water, washer smells horribly, must be cleaned - are you kidding? Who cleans the washer that is supposed to clean clothes with a special cleaner?? We understand safety issues of water in open machine, wonder if Whirlpool understands the need to have a soak feature to clean clothes. Undereducated buyers like us and the totally undereducated salesperson at Lowes were obviously a horrible combination. It was all about sales for them. No one mentioned and we had no clue that the huge drum would not clean clothes even using less water than a traditional machine. We thought platinum meant a high quality machine. It clearly was a cleverly used buzz word for sales not a premier cleaning machine. Never, never, never purchasing Whirpool anything again. Wonder if Whirlpool cares, if they read the ConsumerAffairs reports, if they respond. Our hard-earned money is wasted. Our clothes are dirty, the washer smells, and the top is rusting out!

As a busy mom with 11 children, I needed a refrigerator that could stand up to the demands of my family. This refrigerator is great and meets my needs, but could use a few improvements. The side refrigerator shelves are not on very sturdy. When my daughter removed a jar of mustard, the shelf came off the door, fell onto the floor and broke. This could be solved by improving the gripping strength (increase depth) of the refrigerator door shelf holders. Additionally, the sliding freezer shelf is always crooked and has to be manipulated into place. This is most problematic when the freezer shelf is full. The freezer is not smudge-proof, but clean up is easy with a damp towel.

I purchased the original Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in April 2008 for $372, and an installation charge of $443, grand total - $815. In February 2012 the tank leaked profusely, enough to ruin a section of hardwood floor in the room behind the garage where it was installed. Whirlpool provided me with return authorization, and Lowes provided me with a replacement water heater. So far so good. Since the original installation was done through Lowes, the replacement had to be as well, according to Whirlpool, but now they charged $500 with tax to install the replacement water heater! Grand total now is $1315. Fast forward to May, 2014 and the replacement water heater, just barely 2 years old, shuts off with a code of Bad gas control valve/thermostat. I call Whirlpool and an extremely rude 20-something staffer tells me the unit is out of warranty by one month! The replacement unit has no warranty at all - nada - only the original one does... Is this unbelievable or what?! BUT, they would be glad to send me the replacement of the defective part for $200 PLUS overnight shipping charges, and I would be responsible for all labor charges to install it. Had I opted for this my original $372 water heater would have wound up costing me in the neighborhood of $1800!! I told her in no uncertain terms what she could do with the repair part, and now I am going to go shopping for a water heater that will last me more than 2-4 years, and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool, and it wont come from Lowes.

Mine came new with the home I purchased 3 years ago and so far I have had no problems at all. The only drawback is that if it is on, you can hardly tell it is running so if you forget you might interrupt the wash cycle unintentionally. It does an excellent job on dishes and the stainless steel front is easy to keep clean since there are no mechanical knobs or switches, you can just wipe it down and be done in less than a minute.

We purchased a new stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2015. Within the first few days the fridge door handle broke off. Not that we have super human strength in our 60s but the handle connection is a very thin plastic. We put it down to the possibility that the warehouse or shippers may have banged it and perhaps we just didnt notice the initial crack. The handle was out of stock so it took 8 weeks before the new one arrived. This week the freezer door handle cracked! Same problem - cheap plastic handle connector doesnt withstand the vacuum seal. Whirlpools handle connection to the door is comprised of a 1/8th inch thick by 1/4 inch square piece of brittle plastic. This is screwed onto the door. In reality this needs to be metal. Enough said… Check out the handle connection before you buy this appliance. You will wait months for replacement parts as they cannot seem to keep enough of them in stock.

Whirlpool Gold Series - I bought this dishwasher less than 2.5 years ago. The thing already broke. The motor needs to be replaced at a cost of about $250. The thing never did a good job anyway and often had to run it more than once to get dishes clean. I paid about $650 for the machine so I guess its just a throw-away appliance. Whirlpool makes complete junk. I will buy a different brand that is known to have long-lasting dishwashers. I guess you get what you pay for.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

We have an 8-year-old built-in Whirlpool Estate. It is probably as basic a model as you can get. It has been 100% reliable, and cleans the dishes well, even without rinsing. We do not buy expensive premium dishwasher detergents, either. So far, we have required no repairs. Basic features--heavy wash, normal wash, pots and pans. This dishwasher is standard (not extra large.) This is not a fancy dishwasher--just white. It is what matches the rest of the appliances. We have been lucky regarding the performance of such an inexpensive dishwasher. We paid about $250 for it.

Whirlpool serviceman came out to see why our brand new dishwasher didnt dry the dishes and left pools of water on glass bottoms. Repairman said all the new dishwashers are like this. The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. He said the solution is to use the dishwasher during the day and at the end of the cycle, open the door so the dishes air dry. My previous 24 year old GE dishwasher did a great job of drying the dishes even when we didnt use the heated dry cycle! The only reason we had to buy a new dishwasher is because we bought a new house. I am very disgusted with the Whirlpool dishwasher. Might as well do dishes by hand.

We purchase all Whirlpool appliances for our new house in Florida in late 2015 from Good Deals Appliances. First repair before 1 wk in-house was the dishwasher. Wires were not connected. Now it is the refrigerator (French door refrigerator model K44913210). We reached out where we purchase the appliances and they gave a number of repairman to connect. He came and told us the compressor & evaporator & valve needed replacement, We found that hard to believe that a 2-yr-old refrigerator needed all this repair. Called another repairman to hear same thing. We were also told this problem is so common with this model. Called Whirlpool. They sent a repairman out. Said same thing first two said. They are paying for parts but not labor. We were told by last repairman that this refrigerator hasnt worked from day one. Passed info to Whirlpool and no comment. We paid a lot of money for an upgraded refrigerator to have it quit in 2 years. Totally not acceptable. On top of this the parts may not work for more than 2 years again. Okay Whirlpool who is going to pay for all the ice & dry ice, the other two repairmen that came. The repairman you sent was double the price of other 2 & will not come back till we pay. We will pass our experience with Whirlpool on to all friends and friends of friends.

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

I would never recommend Whirlpool again. I have used Whirlpool products since 1970 and always had good appliances. Your new products are worthless and you are spending more money on legal protection and lobbying than making a worthy product that actually cleans clothes and cools food. Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine: The washer was purchased in March of 2012 and malfunctioned in December 2014. After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. It took 10 days for the parts to arrive, and another unsuccessful repair attempt was made. The verdict is that a new motor control board, costing $350 plus labor, is necessary. We purchased a Whirlpool Range from Brands Mart USA and did not try to use it for quite some time because our house was not ready to move in. When we tried to turn on the oven it would not come on. We called a repair service and was told the Motherboard was not working. We realize the warranty was out on the stove but it never worked and the stove is Brand New. We called Whirlpool and they was going to repair and changed their mind on December 18, 2014 at 8:54 am. Before that call we had spent quite a lot of hours on the phone with Whirlpool and Brands Mart USA.. We purchased three appliances from Brands Mart USA Range, Dishwasher and Microwave at the same time they were all Whirlpool products. What happened to Good Customer Service and Return Customers for Job Security? Well neither Company care for their customers. We did not break a motherboard for a stove oven because the range was never turned on because it was broken when purchased.. We are unable to get any help from either company. I talked today to ** & Supervisor ** from-Whirlpool and ** - Brands Mart USA, again no help. Why transfer you from one company to another for 1 hour and 45 minutes? WISH I COULD GET SOME HELP. And we wonder why companies go out of business - word of mouth complaints and especially with Senior Citizens like us.

Perhaps I am fortunate, but when I read complaints regarding products on the Consumer Affairs site, it makes me wonder because I never have any problems whatsoever with anything I buy. The only time was with a cheap $20 dvd player which lasted just a year. I was given a 10 year old whirlpool fridge 7 years ago. It still works great. Very cold freezer and great features such as frost free freezer. Also Whirlpool Estate budget line dishwasher, washer and dryer ten years ago. No problems! Why do people spend thousands on refrigerators, washers, dryers, and dishwashers? Just buy the basics. It is not important to buy french door refrigerators, dishwashers with stainless-steel interiors, washers/dryers on pedestals and the like. You are only impressing shallow people. All in all, I will always purchase no-frills Whirlpool appliances. They are the best! It finally stopped working altogether 14 days after the warranty ran out. Thank you Whirlpool for nothing! It had a filter on the bottom of the heater that constantly had to be cleaned which was next to impossible. We had to buy a special brush to try to reach it. We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

My Whirlpool washer would start up but would not add any water. It sat there doing absolutely nothing. Then it showed a code on the screen. It said to disconnect the power for 1 minute and plug it back in, which I did. I repeated that process several times. Still nothing. It also said to call Whirlpool, which I did. They wanted the Model # WFW97HEXLO and Serial #, I gave it to the gal on the phone at Whirlpool. I was told it would be a week before they could get someone out there to take a look at it. Really!! I work 80 hours a week and live in the country. I dont have a week. When I asked where the service man was coming from, he was coming from another town. I asked if there was someone closer. She gave me another appliance stores phone number. They showed up 2 business days later, looked at my washer, verified the code along with the Model and Serial #s, telling me it was the control panel. I gave that information to them on a Friday, they showed up on a Tuesday. They knew what that code was and what it meant for that make and model washer, but there just had to be a service call in there. The part was ordered on that Tuesday... here it is the following Saturday and the part still isnt here. I do not understand what takes Whirlpool so long to ship the part. Do they not care that in this hustle bustle life we live in, we dont have time to wait for a part that may or may not show up. Ship it overnight. That is an option. Making the parts accessible to the service people in a timely manner would make great customer-service. Better yet, how about going back to the old-style washers. This high-efficiency non-sense is highly expensive.

This Whirlpool Water heater was purchased through Lowes on March 29, 2011. This past weekend, water started leaking out of the thermostat/natural gas control located on the side of the tank. I called a plumber to take a look. He stated that a new thermostat/natural gas control was needed. Although the tank has a 12 year warranty, this item does not. Whirlpool did agree to replace the part but would charge me $30 to overnight the item which still would have taken 4 days because of a weekend. To install the item would have cost me almost $500.00.To purchase a new Rheem Water heater was $999. I chose the second choice as the first choice would have still left me with a subpar water heater obviously already out of warranty. The reason for my review is that I saw the number of complaints on the failure of this part. When I purchased this water heater, it was the better model due to the 12 year tank warranty. What use is the tank warranty when the other items dont last? There should be some type of reimbursement but Im not holding my breath. Please buy a contractor grade water heater and not the cheaper models.

In April of 2016 I purchased an aqua clean self cleaning oven from Colders Furniture in West Allis Wisconsin. We were told by the sales associate that the oven was top of the line. This was a complete and utter bold face lie. I cleaned the oven for the first time the day after Christmas after having prime rib. I followed the instructions to a T on how to clean the oven. I had to turn the oven on 6 times and scrubbed the oven until my fingers were bleeding, not to mention the enamel on the inside of the oven is completely bubbling. I called the customer care center on December 31, 2016 and the representative basically said I was an idiot and did not know how to cook. They made an appointment to send a technician out on 1-5-2017. Before hanging up the phone the technician informed me that if there was nothing wrong with it that I would have to pay for the call. At this time I became irate and refused telling them that I have not even had the stove for 8 months and that it was still covered under extended warranty. I will see what kind of smoke is blown up my rear end. The technician is sending a new sponge and scraping stick. How about someone to also clean this piece of garbage. My advice is to anyone is if anyone tells you to buy an Aquaclean self clean oven from Whirlpool run in the other direction and do not buy it. Thanks Whirlpool for the garbage and for sending me cleaning products that are not even worth a damn.

We bought all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in February of 2017. The French Door Refridgerator MRF993FIFM we purchased was a large side by side with a water/ice dispenser and freezer on the bottom. The concept of it is great, as it is very roomy. The problem is with the product quality and usability. We are a family of four with the youngest being twelve. We do not have to worry about rough little hands anymore. That being said there is a crack in the back of the plastic casing of one shelf, a crack in the freezer door, the seal doesnt connect on the dispenser side door, the slide out shelf in the freezer doesnt stay on its rollers and the main ice maker stopped working (which never worked properly either). Also, and this is what bothers me the most, the glass on one of the shelves is sealed down so it cannot be cleaned under. But there is a small slit going all the way around that separates it from the plastic. Food is still seeping underneath and creating mold with no way to clean underneath! This was not an inexpensive refrigerator and we were not prepared to have these kinds of problems after a year. We are very unhappy with the quality of this product.

Bought this microwave combo oven from Lowes. Went to change the charcoal filters, as specified by the owners manual, and the top cover and the side cover fell apart when I removed the filter cover screws. After two appointments the service tech came out for about 5 minutes to tell me that only mechanical failure is covered by the extended warranty which I also purchased from Lowes. The problem with Whirlpool is that they make the top cover, and some other parts, with cheap thin plastic which crumbles when exposed to heat. The repair tech said, Dont worry. Ill see what I can do. And then he left. Actually the warranty booklet said wear and tear is covered in addition to mechanical failure. Its inexplicable to me why any manufacturer would use cheap plastic for an over the range product. And I intend to fight this until I get this appliance repaired under warranty.

Purchased above refrigerator (WRF736SDAM13) over a year ago and it has been nothing but trouble. Ive had service companies out 6 different times. The doors never lined up or closed properly from day one. The final and last attempt to fix was putting caulk in the seal of the doors!! Left door does not seal properly and moisture builds up on inside. I requested several times for a new one and Whirlpool refused. Also purchased microwave, stove and dishwasher. Microwave went out 6 months after using it. They had to replace a major part. At least they did this at no charge. Just the hassle of having to be home 2 times to meet service tech. WILL NEVER purchase Whirlpool appliances again. Ive been using them for in all my homes in the past. STAY AWAY from this model.

I had problems with the door closure on day 3 of my French Door Refrigerator Model # WRF560SEY. The flap on the left door that seals them fails to fold back if I open the right door first. Which didnt seem like a big deal until I tried to close them and have to remember to close the left door first or itll bang against the right door and Im afraid itll break that piece off then the refrigerator is worthless. The manufacturer drop shipped a new piece, after several attempts of adjusting the closure, and it still does not work. I have written Whirlpool and am told they have a new door on order but it will take 6-8 weeks, that was in March. Now when I contact Whirlpool no one ever returns my calls or emails. I have had the refrigerator only for 15 months and I have fought with either the store or Whirlpool since the third day of owning it. No one cares as long as the appliance is paid for. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.

Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

I originally brought this to the attention of Whirlpool on February 27, 2014, and they chose to ignore the matter I raised. I am appalled at their customer service, but then again, customer service has been dead in America for decades now. I purchased a KitchenaAid (Architect Series II, Model KERS807SSS02, Ser. XW4704146) oven in 2009, which included a 5-year extended warranty. The first time I had to use my extended warranty was the first time a pot overboiled and thus overflowed covering the top of my range. Since then, Ive had to have my oven serviced two other times, but resulting from a pot which overflowed on the range. The controls are located in the front, directly below the stove top. There is most definitively a flaw in the design of the model I purchased. It seems quite obvious to me that the design should have included protection from moisture reaching the controls. It is very common for pots to overboil, from time to time, and thus overflow, but this should not cause the controls to malfunction due to seepage. Had I purchased the model that had controls behind the range and controls above the cooking surface, moisture would never reach the controls when a pot overflows. It should not cost hundreds of dollars each time a pot overflows on a range. Had I known that the oven model I purchased had a design flaw that allows moisture to reach the computer controls of the oven, I would have purchased the oven with the controls above the cooking surface.I invested over $2K on this oven because having owned KitchenAid appliances in the past, the KitchenAid brand had historically proven reliable. KitchenAid (or now Whirlpool) can no longer take pride in the quality of their products, most likely relative to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Whirlpool ignored me the first time I contacted them on this matter and most recently today when I was told that it was a use matter. Apparently they believe that an overflowed pot is not a common occurrence on a range. I wrote directly to Jeff Fettig, CEO of Whirlpool and he has chosen to ignore me.

I agree with the comments already made. My crisper drawer plastic rectangular piece just literally decomposed! It shredded into little pieces and cracked and broke, dropping one side of the draw set. I called about it - nope, not under warranty - replacement cost? Merely $150 so my drawers could be in the refrigerator. Also, because of the stress of the angle the drawer holder was when it broke, it cracked the drawer at the back - and the drawer had one grapefruit in it at the time. (Not considering replacing - cant imagine what that would cost when the little brace piece approx 14 was so expensive.) The flap - yeah, it split. I am a single person, no kids EVER in my refrigerator and I travel so much that I am barely home 20% of my days. The refrigerator gets very little activity opening and closing the doors yet the flap sliced. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN??? With any break in the seal as they called it, the refrigerator starts collecting moisture inside (and I live in the desert so we have very little moisture in our air) and drips or starts causing frost build up on the icemaker. Yesterday, once again, the icemaker stopped working. When I asked about replacing the flap I was told the entire seal needed to be replaced @ the cost of $232 PER DOOR!! Right now with just the plastic rectangular piece and the bar between the two drawers (BTW the rollers on the frame are not included with the frame purchase they announced) I have $614 in repair parts WITHOUT fixing the icemaker! Last night water was running in my refrigerator from the icemaker. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND WHIRLPOOL TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. I have been a Whirlpool ONLY customer for over 45 years!!!! They told me that I had to schedule an appointment with a service person at a minimum of $100 cost to me - JUST TO FILE A COMPLAINT with Whirlpool! They only take complaints from service people submissions. I advised the Whirlpool representative to start looking for another job because if this was the way they treated lifelong customers, her job may be eliminated due to No Customers! Does Whirlpool seriously NOT CARE about their customers? #WhirlpoolSux #WhirlpoolRefrigeratorsAreMoneyPits #WhirlpoolDoesntWantCustomers #WhirlpoolDeservesToGoOutOfBusiness #DontBuyWhirlpool #WhirlpoolFrenchDoorRefrigeratorsHorrible #NoServiceFromWhirlpool #WhirlpoolDoesntStandBehindProducts

I purchased this machine from Sears on 04/23/2016 and have had nothing but problems and issues with it. It is loud and makes different sounds every time I use it. It has overfilled and underfilled with water a few times, the machine shuts down while washing and I have had to restart the machine. Half the time the clothes come out covered in soap and I have to put them through another rinse cycle. My bedding always has to either go through a second rinse cycle due to being covered in soap or I have to rewash it because it is all packaged together in the fitted sheet and never got washed. During the spin cycle it sounds like it is getting ready launch into outer space and it vibrates excessively. On numerous occasions I have had to untie my clothes as they are tied in knots. There have been times that I had to put the clothes through another spin cycle because the clothes contained too much water. The final straw was last week (03/27/2019). I washed my sheets and they came out bundled up in the fitted sheet full of soap stains and I had to rewash them. When the sheets were done I put the comforter in the wash and started to clean the house. When I went into the laundry room the washer was not running but the wash light was on so I opened the lid and felt the comforter and found it to be dry. I closed the lid and pushed the start button. After a few seconds the washer shifted to rinse without even washing the comforter. When the washer stopped running and the ready light came on I removed the comforter, unplugged the machine, shut off the water, disconnected the water hoses, placed the machine on a dolly and took it to my scrap pile. I could not find any Whirlpool washers with any good reviews so I purchased a Speed Queen with a 5 year parts and labor warranty.

Do not purchase (Whirlpool products). Discuss guarantees with salespeople when purchasing! They are total sham and in fact borderline fraud! Purchased $5,000 dollar KitchenAid fridge only to have it breakdown after only 8 months. What they dont tell you is instead of recalling a product they give their repair personnel whats called a notice which means they know there are issues with their products! After much discussion and trying to return the product to no avail, I was told very adamantly my fridge would need to break down another additional 2 times before my fridge would be replaced with a new fridge. Forget about the cost of your food inside the fridge, they dont care! Just beware that their warranties and parts and labour are a complete and utter joke! My advice after much research if you can afford it buy Miele or Subzero product. Its more expensive but a lot less headaches in the long run! Ive eaten the cost of my KitchenAid appliance and went with a Subzero fridge. Dont believe the higher pressure sales pitch from salesman. Youre best to call a repairman and ask what hes fixing more often than not and 9/10 times he will tell you Whirlpool product! Customer service is a complete circus and gong show. Youll get further ahead talking to a donkey!!! Buyer beware! Whirlpool Canada/USA is a joke!!! Dont say I didnt warn ya!!!

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.

I had a Whirlpool Natural Gas Water Heater professionally installed on 2-27-2107. This unit came with a Honeywell controller and thermopile assembly. Today is 05-18-2019 and the unit is not inoperative. The pilot is lit but the burner wont light. Here are the issues that I have come across so far: When I go to the Whirlpool site there is no direct link to Whirlpool water heaters, just kitchen appliances and washer/dryers. When I click on parts and accessories link it gives links to washers, dryers or pedestals. Again... No information about water heaters. I scroll down to the bottom of this page and I see a link to All Replacement Parts When I click that it takes me to another site managed by RepairClinic. When I enter the model number for the water heater it says Not Found. I entered the part number for the thermopile on the tag on the orange wire #321165-002 and 100078039 and again it returns as Part Not Found. Its obvious that Whirlpool is putting little effort into supporting their water heaters or their customers. I called their support line and they were able to order the thermopile assembly for $55 plus $27.95 in shipping to get it here by Tuesday. Today is Saturday. So that means almost 4 days without hot water. And since this water heater was a warranty replacement for a previous one that went bad they will not cover the cost of replacement parts for the thermopile. Lesson learned: No more Whirlpool purchases for any of their appliances.

[Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] A few years ago Whirlpool goofed - they left out the Perma-press cycle on a high-efficiency washing machine model. We noticed the absence of Perma-press (or Casual as it sometimes now called) on the shop floor, and were assured we could arrive at the same results with the dizzying array of buttons that allow the consumer to tailor the cycles to their wash load. It turns out that it doesnt allow this. Buttons are disabled on some of the cycles, thereby preventing recreating a Perma-press cycle. No amount of prodding... Whirlpool has provided me with an override for the combination of a normal wash and a gentle spin that comprise a typical Perma-press cycle. On contacting Whirlpool about the missing cycle, they claim consumers no longer want the Perma-press cycle. Puzzled by this statement, I returned to the showroom floor to see for myself. All the washers have Perma-press cycles. Whirlpool goofed with this model. They left it out. They have not provided a replacement machine for a consumer who blows this whistle on their goof. Among the solutions their customer support DID provide: add softeners to the rinse cycle and add dryer sheets to the dryer to reduce wrinkles [by purchasing a high-efficiency machine, we aimed to reduce waste, not increase it]. Among their invalid suggestions: choose the Casual cycle [there is no Casual cycle setting on this machine]; choose Normal cycle, then set spin speed to low [this machine disables the low speed choice on the Normal cycle]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Delicate [Wrong. Delicate only swishes clothes back and forth, not robust enough for business shirt colors and cuffs]; on this machine the Perma-press cycle is renamed Colors [Wrong. Business shirts come out too wrinkled on Colors]. There has been nothing I can do to convince Whirlpool that they produced a lemon in this model [Model WTW6300WW0, Type 580] and should replace it with a normal washing machine. I have tried for years, only for Whirlpool to come to the same conclusion: its the consumers problem now, not theirs.

I purchased a Whirlpool 50 gallon gas hot water heater 3 years ago. I have 3 daughters all in school age. When my old one finally quit due to tank failure and out of warranty, I went to Lowes and bought a 6 year warranty hot water heater costing around $600. Now I figured you get what you pay for RIGHT! WRONG! So about 2 years ago the pilot light started to just go out on occasion, a bit of an inconvenience but there was no default code warning me of any other issues. So typically we just relight it. I called Whirlpool to get help with this issue, but they wanted me to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. Um isnt that what the warranty is for? I said dont bother. Im not paying $150 for someone to tell me what I already know. Ill just keep relighting it myself. So finally the pilot light goes out for the 100th time but this time I go to reignite it and BOOM! It sounded like a twelve gauge shot gun going off in my face! Then it flutters flames into the chimney of the hot water heater. Scared the crap out of me at first. But it finally stopped and run fine. Well Im laying in bed a few nights later and woke up to a loud thumping noise, I go down stairs and it stops. The following day Im in the kitchen and THUMP THUMP THUMP BURP BURP BURP. Run over to the hot water heater closet and theres the flames shooting out of the gas valve into the hot water heater then BOOM! Its out! The valve unit finally took a crap I guess. I call Whirlpool again to get my warranty - this time it definitely needs to be replaced. So the guy tells me the parts are covered in the warranty but a technician needs to look at it first and the technician Ill have to pay.. Excuse me but what the ** did you just say? I have to pay for a technician to look at your failing part? No I dont think so! Just send me the part - Ill replace it myself. Im a millwright electrician by trade. I specialize in power plants and refineries. Im sure this little gas valve wont be a problem. I spoke with these idiots on a Friday and he said I could have it ground shipped for free and it should be here in 5-6 days or pay extra for quicker delivery. What the hell did he just say? I could pay extra for quicker delivery on Whirlpools faulty part? ** whirlpool should be saying Well have the part overnight to you.Now since it was a 3 day weekend theres no sense in me paying $40 to have it delivered 3 day because it still wouldnt arrive until close to the five day. So I just looked to see where my damn part is because it shouldve been here by now according to the guy on the phone. NOPE! Its set to be delivered in 5 more ** days. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. THEY DO NOT PRACTICE ETHICS.

The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. This is my last purchase from Sears. We have bought appliances for 30 years from Sears and this is the end. They could care less about customer service or their products. Apparently everything is now made by Whirlpool who will also be getting a review. Shame on you for making poor products.

We bought this unit (Whirlpool fridge #WRF555SDF201) in November 2016. Was so excited! The fridge looks great, love the French doors, and the freezer. Its the ice maker! It spews crushed ice all over every time it is used. Its like the setting is stuck in-between crushed and cubed. Every time it is used ice goes on floor and I have to clean it up. If a small child uses it they get ice in their face and down their shirts. I have been told from Whirlpool and Lowes that it is in the design and they will not even try to fix it. They will definitely not replace it. Lowes claims they know about the way Whirlpool designs their ice makers and that they mention it to prospective buyers, but I know they did not tell me of this design flaw in the product before we bought it. I now simply have to deal with it. It is less than a year old and I burn with disappointment every time I use the ice maker. I am even more disappointed in the lack of concern for me, the customer. We bought 6 Whirlpool appliances at the same time from Lowes about 6 months ago. It will take awhile but they will NOT be replace with Whirlpool or purchased at Lowes.

Whirlpool over stove microwave/convection oven model GH7208XRY-4 - I purchased this top of the line unit in April 2012 for a vacation home kitchen remodel. It wasnt installed until June 2012 and stopped working in May, 2013 just after the warranty period expired. The problem was with the touch screen panel that went blank and the fan/light control switches also failed. This unit has only had light use since my wife and I are retired and use it primarily for heating tea/coffee. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and they graciously offered to cover the cost of replacement parts but I had to pay a service charge of $125. The factory technician said the whole door needed to be replaced since the electronics were not readily accessible so it took about a week to get the replacement door which turned out to be the wrong one and needed to be reordered. The technician finally replaced the door and the faulty fan/light switch. Within a month the fan/light switch failed again but was still under warranty so it was replaced for free. A little more than a year after the last service the touch screen control panel began operating by itself changing screens and beeping randomly. This was somewhat disconcerting but the unit continued to work pretty normally until my wife placed a small plate of leftovers in oven to be reheated for 1 minute. She walked away to do other things and forgot about the food in the oven until we noticed a strong burning odor and found that the microwave was still running some 20 minutes later and had turned the food into a black mass of burned food and the plastic cover was melted and burned.I contacted Whirlpool service thinking that the unit was under warranty from the previous service but they said the parts only carried a 90 day warranty and my only recourse was to pay for another service call and purchase another door panel for approximately $400 or I could buy an extended service contract for $300. Needless to say Im not about to spend that kind of money to, at best, get another year of service from this inferior product. This is simply not a safe product that could have started a deadly fire if I had not been present to stop it when I did. I have probably owned a dozen microwaves from other manufacturers and have never had any kind of problem including a comparable GE unit that has been flawless for over 15 years. I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool has cheapened its product line to such an extent but I suppose I shouldnt be surprised since I noted this product was made in China.

I wish I had gone on this website and read the reviews before I bought my washer about two years ago. I thought the Whirlpool Cabrio was going to be a good machine because of the brand name and because it is one of the more expensive washers. Like many others have said, I am disappointed with this washer. I bought it because it has a large capacity, but mostly because it has a hand wash cycle and a deep water soak. I have found that the only cycle that actually may get clothes clean is the Bulky Items cycle, because it actually covers the clothes in water. Some of the other cycles dont even get the clothes entirely wet. And the deep water soak doesnt wash the clothes, rinse them, or spin them dry. I might as well pre-soak clothing in my laundry tub, and then put them in the machine to wash them. Prior to this machine, I had a Maytag Neptune front loader, which did alright, but it had a few problems. I am ready to go back to the inexpensive agitator machine my mother used to have, if anyone still makes them. They at least got the clothes clean, and you could soak clothing if you wanted to. Im sorry that I bought this expensive washer. I wish I had bought a relatively inexpensive, simple machine. One good thing about this machine though is that I was able to wash a sleeping bag on the Bulky Items cycle. So, I didnt have to take the sleeping bag to the laundromat. Whirlpool needs to improve this machine or go back to the drawing board and create a new one.

My wife and I went and bought a new Whirlpool 27 cubic foot French door fridge model WRF767SDEMO1 in 3-13-17 from Lowes and I have all the paperwork. And on Monday the May-28-2018 it stopped making ice, so I called a repairman and he came out May-31-2018 and he said it was leaking gas and it cannot be FIXED and it is JUNK. He told me to, Call Whirlpool and tell them you want a new one. I called Whirlpool and they are sending one of their repairmen out June -5- 2018 to check it and by that time I will lose everything in the fridge because it stopped working.

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

Bought this refrigerator in June 2018. Had issues with freezer section and service technician came July 19. Issue was resolved but only temporarily. Had another technician come in Oct 3 and was told he had to order a new freezer drawer which should take 3 days. Now being told the drawer won’t arrive until Nov 15. You call that service? It would have taken less time to get a new refrigerator. I would never recommend buying Whirlpool products to anyone. What’s the point in buying a product that you can’t get proper service on.

Today I had the unfortunate experience to have to deal with Whirlpool customer service and claims. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT again! My refrigerator, that was purchased in 2013, has a door misalignment problem. It is a known problem with Whirlpool (service pointer W107317828). My refrigerator serial number and model number are affected. Because I am outside the one year warranty, Whirlpool refuses to provide service that is required to fix this known issue with my model/serial number. After having to talk to four supervisors the only resolution that was given was that they would cover the cost of the 7/16 hex nut ($4.33). Dont get me wrong I do appreciate the offer. The two supervisors that were below her assured me that no one can do anything to assist me further. The attitude of the second and third supervisor was pathetic. After over a hour on the phone I was so disappointed that I could not take it further. The cost that we are talking about that I am asking them to pay is $154.28. I am very disappointed. They say they stand by their product. To me standing by your product means that you will fix or replace any known issue. $154.28. I hope it is worth it to you Whirlpool. You lost a long time customer.

We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.

I bought the Whirlpool French 4 door fridge WRX988SIBM 01. I like the way it stores and layout (other than the icemaker taking the entire left door out). But I got a lemon, I bought the Lowes 5 year warranty (with the 4 repairs replacement). The fourth repair and dead declaration was 5 years and a week (so just out of Lowes extended warranty by a week). The Death Certificate repair guy said they dont make em like they used to. So I am now buying another fridge - trying Samsung this time. Every fridge has a lemon once in awhile and with my luck... Well you can thank me for taking it off your hands! :) I am averaging 5 years per fridge. Thats a lot of money and I expect to get at least 10 years life on a major appliance.

My new Tridel Condo came with a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer and the washer has not been working well since the beginning. After several service calls the repairman finally gave up and now were getting a new replacement. However its been a nightmare working with them trying to get this washer replaced. The Whirlpool delivery team and the service team cant seem to coordinate a time together for the replacement. We had to make a first appointment for the service guy to uninstall the old unit, the second appt for the delivery guy to drop off the new unit and pick up the old and a 3rd appt to install the new unit. Each appt has a 4 hour wait window. This is their standard procedure, which is totally inconvenient to customers. To make matter worse, the delivery guy came too early for a condo delivery (before 9 AM) and told us he will be back the next day. And he didnt show up. It looks like now we actually have to have 5 appts (including the 2 missed appts by their delivery guy) to have the washer replaced. All the time I wasted waiting for this delivery is worth more than the washer itself. What would be 4 hours X 5 appts = 20 hours. This is the worst customer experience ever. After 3 months of constantly calling Whirlpool and still no washer. Whirlpool needs to hire some competent people who actually care about servicing their customers.

Bought microwave two years ago, almost immediately when stove area got warm, the microwave would not work properly. It would beep, the info keypad would cycle, then freeze up. After unplugging and letting it sit for a while, it would work fine for a time. Now it doesnt work properly at all. We keep it unplugged until we need it then it may or may not work. I have had a service company look at it and the only thing they could figure was that was an electronic failure from the heat. I am concerned that it is a fire hazard and leave it unplugged. Not what I expected from a $1000 appliance. I wish there was a class action suit that I could join.

We purchased a KitchenAid KFIS29PBMS00 in August of 2013. By March of 2014 it had stopped freezing and producing ice. Sent out a technician (mind you each technician has to come twice, once to diagnose and then to repair). They determined that all of the panels and ice maker needed replaced. Did so with no resolution. Placed another call. This technician determined that the compressor was bad. Installed a new one on April 10th. The fridge worked for 30 days. Stopped freezing and producing ice. Placed the 3rd service call. Was told that the new compressor was bad. Technician showed up on June 5th to replace it but did not have one with him. He was told by Whirlpool that they had discovered a wiring problem and that if the Serial number begins with K322 -K335 yours is one of them. We are K324. He ran a serious tests and contacted Whirlpool. I was told it is not in Whirpools hands. LUCKY ME NOT. It is now June 19th, I have made 2 additional calls to KitchenAid after not hearing anything back was told that I was in the process of receiving a new fridge and that I would get a phone call. After nothing I called back again. After 47 minutes I was transferred to a Supervisor. According to her while we were on the phone, she ordered a new refrigerator. No upgrade, compensation or a care in the world for the consumer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. I expect to have to call back again.

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

On Dec 18, 2015, my hot water heater located in my garage started spewing water out into my garage, driveway, and into the street. I called Lowes, whom I purchased the water heater in Jan 2011, in which it was still under warranty. I was told to call (Whirlpool) 877 817 6750, the order was placed for a gas shut out valve after going through a check system. I was then given the names of two local preferred technicians to repair water heater, whom was not available. The representative from Whirlpool (American water heater) told me I can get the plumber of my choice, authorization number was given. I had to call the (Whirlpool) (American Water Heater) back and was told the part was ordered 2 times. The first part will come on Dec 19, 2015 by UPS, and that the second part will come on Dec 21 by UPS, that a prepackaged label for return will be attached, and to tape the 2 boxes together to send back to the company--one box with the old part, and one box with the new. So, I sent the boxes to an address in Junction City, Tn. But I was not sent prepaid label, so I kept by word and spent $14. I will not be reimbursed according to American Water in which I followed their directions to a tee. So the walk away, the customer is always wrong, staff is not being trained the right way, and as a customer I am out of money and making adjustments to the way of customer service. No service. I purchased a Whirlpool Side by Side Stainless Refrigerator with Water and Ice Dispenser Model #GSF26CYEXY03 and Serial #HR22908384 for $1397 in October 2012 from Orvilles Home Appliance (GREAT COMPANY!!!). It had problems from day one. The handle wouldnt even attach on the one door so Orvilles graciously went back to their main store and took a handle off their display and put it on ours until the new one was delivered. Then there was a $100 rebate on the fridge. Unfortunately, we misplaced the paperwork and sent the rebate in a little late. We apologized for the delay. The end result was a declined rebate. That was one of the reasons that we chose this particular model in the first place.Next, both of our doors rusted. After Orvilles contacted Whirlpool and went back and forth with them, Whirlpool decided to replace both doors. So Orvilles came back to our house and changed them. The guys were baffled about the rust. Thank goodness that it was still under warranty for that. Next problem was the ice dispenser. It makes ice perfectly but dispensing it is another thing. For the last year we have had to take the ice bin out and empty it and start from square one over a dozen times. I contacted Whirlpool just the other day and was told Sorry. Its out of warranty! We can arrange for you to have the Repair + 1 for a total charge of $356 and then you will have a 1 year operational warranty with that. My thought was REALLY!!! While I was on the phone I mentioned the next problem with it.This problem is with all 3 storage drawers. The fronts of all of them have broken off and now I had to tape them. They all broke within a matter of a few months apart. When I talked to the girl from Whirlpool, I told her that I looked them up and the drawers cost about $54 each. Her answer was I know and I am sorry maam. Unfortunately there isnt anything we can do. Thats why I choose my appliances very carefully! I was shocked to hear that. Just to sum everything up... I am so glad that I spent $1400 to have so many problems and then was given the opportunity (which I declined) to spend another $356 to repair an appliance with icemaker problems and then be expected to spend another $150 to replace plastic drawers. This company is absolutely terrible!
