Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

We bought a gas Whirlpool Stove from Lowes. We noticed it was not heating like our last stove and thought maybe because it was new. No the stove does not heat properly at all. I cooked a pork loin for 40 minutes at 350 and it was still raw in the middle. I have had to cook everything on 375 which makes the door handles and knobs very hot. I called Lowes and they patched me into Whirlpool after a 45 minute wait. The rep from Whirlpool said, you can look at the manual and figure out how to calibrate it. No I cant. I have a warranty that is what it is suppose to cover. Then I was on hold for another 20 minutes. Really no one should tell you to read a manual to fix a gas stove. I will not buy another Whirlpool item. Poor customer service and that make you feel you are bothering them.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer w103386894 - I have had nothing but problems with this piece of crap washing machine. Either the clothes come out soaked at the end of the spin cycle, or it gets stuck in a cycle and repeats. It makes so much noise you can hear it through the whole house. It is less than three years old and now it is leaking water. I had a base model Sears Kenmore that I had for over 12 years and it died from old age. This Whirlpool is pure crap, do not buy.

We purchased the Whirlpool double oven gas range from Lowes in July of 2014. The oven heat that boils out onto the stove top when you use either oven makes it difficult to handle the pots on the range top. The first time I used both ovens at the same time the plastic front to the control panel started to melt and the fumes were horrible. It was under warranty so Whirlpool replaced it with an identical panel that also melted when I used the top oven and range top at the same time. Its out of warranty so Whirlpool says its not their problem. From reading these other complaints it is obvious to me that customer satisfaction is not important to Whirlpool - just that profit margin. Build cheap - sell high should be their motto.

Bought the Duet front loader washer and dryer. Nothing but problems and repairs. When I decided to throw in the towel and buy new machines my repair man convinced me to buy Whirlpool again - Cabrio. Said they are amazing. Love them except the holes in my shirts. I bag my delicates but apparently I have to bag everything. So sorry I bought them. There was a day when you could count on Whirlpool. Replacing my crappy Whirlpool gold refrigerator right now too. Hoping LG will be better. Already replaced my Whirlpool dishwasher. Went to Maytag. This company has gone downhill. My mom had these appliances for 20 plus years - I spend thousands and cant get 5 years!!! Dont buy Whirlpool!

I bought Whirlpool dishwasher (silver, Golden Series), after one year it just stopped for nothing and the circuit controller failed with error code E2/F2. So it was expensive but turned out to be totally unreliable. I had to pay $200 to get extended warranty and still waiting for the parts!!! Worst experience ever (uh Golden Series, for me it is Plastic Series). Will never buy any product from this company again.

The fridge had been leaking just a little for a while until the leak picked up and left a puddle. Turns out this plastic tube connector cracked. Seems a very poorly designed fit that caused the bend in the plastic to rupture. Now the whole tube and what I think is the water inlet valve will need to be replaced.

On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

Ive read the reviews on this appliance. First of all the all of the washing machine being manufactured are designed to save energy and water. The water is loaded in the machine based on the WEIGHT of the clothes. the washing machines no longer have the features to (small, medium, large load) so the consumer can fill the machine. Having said that, most sales representatives will tell you appliances manufactured today are no longer designed to last 15-20 years, although they are way more expensive than the workhorses made in the past.I got rid of my fancy Samsung washing machine because it broke down at least 4 times within the first year of purchase and decided to go with the whirlpool because Ive had a workhorse in the past that was worked excellent. I love the fact the washers no longer have the agitator in the middle which allow me to wash my king sized bedding without the machine becoming unbalanced or making a lot of noise. So far the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer is working very well. Id rather give the Whirlpool a chance any day over the new johnny come latelys, which are more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but are failing miserably in performance. I also love my Cabrio 8.8 dryer. They both work better than the Samsung models I got rid of.

Weve owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher for about seven years. There has not been a year that has passed that we have not had to place a service call with a local service provider. (Each service call costs $85.85.) The upper tray has come off the tracks more than 10 times. The drainage mechanism broke the first time we used the dishwasher. The fuse box (which is amazingly a self-contained, enclosed, black box) has blown twice, has to be completely replaced, and costs over $180. The second time it broke, I ordered, paid for, and had delivered the replacement part only to find out that the broken part suddenly started working again. (I guess Ill have the $180 part for the next time it breaks.) To suggest that this product is junk is an understatement. It will be replaced very shortly.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold appliances because we thought that they had an excellent reputation? Wrong! Our Whirlpool refrigerator lining started cracking before the unit was 3 years old. Now its 7 years & cracks are so deep and there are so many of them, the refrigerator must be replaced. No help from Whirlpool when I called. Now remember, a refrigerator is supposed to last 14-17 years. 7 years is not acceptable! This is a known problem. If you Google refrigerator liner cracks Whirlpool youll see many of them. Unfortunately, Whirlpool will not accept responsibility for faulty design/manufacturing which leaves the consumer to be out of their hard-earned money. Before you ever buy a Whirlpool product, read the reviews and decide if Whirlpool not standing behind their products makes it worth it for you to buy them. I certainly dont recommend them! I also wish to tell you that a major crack was around the light housing and Whirlpool placed the light cover over it where it was concealed to the buyer. Youd never know it until the light cover would be removed for cleaning. Which wasnt easy to do since Whirlpool installed it with 2 sided sticky glue foam tape. Now thats really scum behavior!

My wife and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine and dryer, this is by far the worst washing machine we’ve ever owned. It hardly fills, even in deep water cycle. If you watch the clothes through the smoked glass lid with a flashlight, you can see they don’t even go underwater. The dryer seems to be fine but I would never recommend the washing machine to anybody looking to buy one.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

We purchased a Whirlpool Overhead microwave and Quiet Dishwasher in May of 2017. Within the first year, the microwave needed new sensors installed. The repair person said this was a design flaw and he was getting many calls. Then at 13 months, the dishwasher wouldnt drain. In 2/2007, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer (GHW9400PW) and have had constant F06 failures. After the repairman debrided the pump, he felt the issue might be electrical, if not resolved, it will fail again. Now, it needs a $400 to $500 electrical system and cannot be guaranteed that will end failures as these washers have had many problems. I purchased a side-by-side Whirlpool fridge and the ice maker stopped working 2 weeks after I purchased it. The retailer said that I would have to go through Whirlpool to resolve the matter. This has gone on for almost six months now. Ive had two service companies do 7 service calls to fix the problem and today, the 8th service call was supposed to happen and the guy never showed up. The company has lied to me telling me that it will just be one more service call each and every time.I want my refrigerator exchanged for a new one. They are refusing to do so until each service call is completed. I think they sold me a lemon based on the fact that nobody seems to be able to fix the issue. After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic. Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

I am a very unhappy owner of a Whirlpool Cabrio Model: wtw5640xw0 & matching Dryer. About 4 years ago, my husband chose to replace our 11 year-old Maytag Performa Washer & Dryer instead of fixing a part that needed to be replaced in the Washer. I was upset with the very first load of laundry in the Cabrio and I was extra upset that my husband had junked my perfectly awesome working Performa Dryer. )-: First of all, the Cabrio set is Extremely LOUD! Secondly, I often have to wash loads more than once because they do not get clean the first time. Next, the Washer is Always knocked off balance. Ive resorted to using the settings on the Washer with the low spin every time, no matter how light the load. And, now there is something wrong with the lid lock mechanism (which has always sucked anyway), but this is a new problem... I was just checking on the internet to try to figure it out when I stopped to write this review. The lid will not lock & the lid lock light wont go off, so the Washer wont do anything at all! I can not express enough what a piece of junk this Washer is & Im never going to allow my husband (who doesnt even do the laundry) to choose my Washer & Dryer again!

All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!!! And shame on the stores that advertise and sell Whirlpool JUNK!! They should put a warning on these machines stating Will not last, gets off balance and does not clean your clothes. Yes we bought the Cabrio like the others, our clothes would not get clean, because like sheets, would end up looking like a doughnut without a hole and all of the dirty water would drain through the middle and make a spot. Then you have to wash them over and over. But that is not the worse part! It only lasted 13 months, YES I said 13 months just past the warranty LOL!!When the man came to make repairs, it was the gear box and was going to cost almost $600. Almost as much as we paid for the machine. He recommended getting a Speed Queen, we did and I LOVE it!! I think it is the BEST MACHINE I have ever had. They are a little hard to find though, but I found where they were sold on the internet and the dealer had to order it. Well worth the time and trouble, (trouble) which I dont expect to have with this machine. Like I said it is a wonderful beast. And I will never buy another product made by Whirlpool. Before my husband retired he made prototypes for autos so he knows about testing and Whirlpool had to know this product had bad flaws before they put it on the market, I call that fraud. Bad taste in my wallet, Michigan.

We purchased the Cabrio Washer and Dryer from Lowes during a Black Friday sale, November 2016. The items were delivered when we closed on a new home. Thus, we didnt start using the washer and dryer until 3 months after purchase. One month after usage we had our first service call. To the point, what the other reviews say are the exact experience that we are having. Unfortunately, we did not do our research before buying. The washer: Clothes come out wrinkled, littered with lint, and the wash cycles are excessively long. The dryer: Clothes take a long time to dry, and most times we run the dry cycle twice because, after the first cycle, the clothes are still damp.Even though the washer and dryer can accommodate larger loads, we are forced to break out the laundry into smaller loads to get better results. Still, doing the laundry is negative experience with the Cabrio. Recently, it took nine hours to fully complete 5 loads of wash. That included the dryer cycle. The repairman said that he is well familiar with the issue. It is the new technology. The software is incredibly sensitive and can fault easily. This leads to another negative feature. The software is restrictive leaving the user with little control over how they want the wash and dry cycles to perform.Going back to the conversation we had with the repairman. He said he had a Whirlpool washer and dryer at home that was over 10 years old. The old fashion kind with the dials and less complicated technology; and he has never had an issue. I have to agree with that. Our second home has the Whirlpool Duet (washer and dryer) that are 13 years old. Never had a problem technically and with washing and drying clothing. We plan to try to contact Whirlpool about their return policy. Not a quality product. Definitely cannot recommend this washer and dryer. We truly purchased junk.

GX5FHTXVQ03 - Our whirlpool refrigerator/freezer has been leaking from the freezer for a couple of years (purchased in 2011). An ice sheet builds up in the freezer unit, then leaks out. We have gone through countless attempts to defrost and correct, disconnecting the ice maker, and a replacement part that accomplished nothing. I see online numerous people have experienced this same problem. It appears to be a design defect. Made another call to Whirlpool today. They are willing to schedule a service call for us... at our expense. Gee, thanks! Hey, but they are sorry about our warped oak hardwood floor. That sure makes me feel better. WE WILL NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL AGAIN!

This dishwasher (model #WDT710PAYM5) leaked water after having it for 9 months. Service man came out to look at it and said it wasnt level. The very next day when I use it the water came out again on my wooden floor. Now the wood floor looks like it has water damage. Sadly this floor was just installed.

The washer was 5 months old and broke. Three service appointments and multiple phone calls, it still wasn’t fixed. Whirlpool sent rusty parts out to my home and that was the second excuse for not fixing the washer. The poor service guy must have been 70 years old. Hello, how do washer parts get rusty when they are not even used and are kept in a box?

I’m a 69 year old married man who has probably owned about 8-10 clothes washers during my life. I purchased my first Whirlpool washer about 1 1/2 years ago (Cabrio - model WTW8500DC2). It began leaving sediment on my clothes immediately, even though I followed the specific washing instructions. Whirlpool sent 3 different repairmen to fix the problem, each indicated there had been problems with this machine. None were able to fix the problem. When I called Customer Service for the 4th time, they refused to discuss the problem. They said there was nothing wrong with the machine, it was my problem, I must have too much “lint” in my clothes. Haven’t had that problem for 69 years, but this was their way of handling the problem. They refused any further help. I would discourage everyone from buying a Whirlpool product. I absolutely do not back their products. You are on your own!!

My son purchased the Whirlpool 2 door w/ icemaker about 3 years ago. Twice weve had a repairman here. Yesterday was the 2nd one. He tried 3 ways to get liquid to go through a round coil I could see at the back. He said the problem was between the two back panels (back of fridge & inside wall) where there was a tubing to release the water from defrost cycle. It appears to be a manufacturing problem. I am very upset! It should be replaced at the very least.

I bought a whirlpool washer from Whirlpool on February 27, 2011. Since then, they have come out and repaired the washer for 5 times. They have even taken the whole motor out, and replaced it. The last time they came, they said I would have to pay for the next time. Now, it has broken again, and I have to pay for a washer repair that is less than a year old. We bought the Whirlpool washer at Sears, and neither Sears, nor Whirlpool will stick by their product. We cannot afford another new washer, and to pay for repairs is a stretch too. Is there anything you can do?

Whirlpool Cabrio, H2 washer system type 588 01, serial # c0303 10 - We have been in our condo 5 years. The washer & dryer was here and new when we moved in. I have been displeased with it from the start. It takes forever to wash through a load, and the clothes are just as dirty after being washed as before. I soaked some whites in Clorox overnight and ran through using Tide and Downy. Then the stains and dirt were still there. I ran them again it was not any better. I had a professional from Hagadorn come. They could not find anything wrong. It cost us about $100.00. Others in our area have the same complaint. I have never been satisfied with this wash. It just does not get the clothes clean. Please help!!!

I believe this particular unit needs to be recalled. Sears informed me that the unit must be assessed by one of their qualified/certified technicians before a request to be valid. I have concerns about this statement. Employees will not go against their company in fear of retaliation. In addition, I paid cash for the unit and now cannot get my money back. I’m dissatisfied with Sears and their values.

Perhaps I am fortunate, but when I read complaints regarding products on the Consumer Affairs site, it makes me wonder because I never have any problems whatsoever with anything I buy. The only time was with a cheap $20 dvd player which lasted just a year. I was given a 10 year old whirlpool fridge 7 years ago. It still works great. Very cold freezer and great features such as frost free freezer. Also Whirlpool Estate budget line dishwasher, washer and dryer ten years ago. No problems! Why do people spend thousands on refrigerators, washers, dryers, and dishwashers? Just buy the basics. It is not important to buy french door refrigerators, dishwashers with stainless-steel interiors, washers/dryers on pedestals and the like. You are only impressing shallow people. All in all, I will always purchase no-frills Whirlpool appliances. They are the best! And you can be like me and have no credit card bills and plenty of money in the bank with the result of low stress.

I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). I opened all the windows and went back to bed not sure since we never had gas before. Gas company came out that day and determined that the burners were bypassing gas. Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. I bought a commercial coin operator washer (Whirlpool washer model CAE2743BQ) for $800 and after using it for 4 months the washer stop working. The main board panel lights turned all and the washer did not start. Called Whirlpool several times and nobody could help me and told me to look online for a distribution center to get parts. The customer service only knew about regular washers not coin operator. The washer had only 3 months warranty from Home Depot and I was supposed to pay for all the repairs and Whirlpool would pay for parts. So far I spend $400 in repairs and the certified technicians could not repair the washer. They replaced the actuator shift, the main board etc, etc and nothing. The technicians reset the washer at least 10 times, calling Whirlpool tech support and the washer worked for one load and the main board lights stayed on all over again, the start button did not work. I sent a letter to the warranty department that I got online and they told me to call the same 1800 that I had called at least 50 times in the past year. Now it has been more than one year and the machine is defective. Technician said could be the soap that my tenants are using, or overloading the washer or an electric problem that they cannot identify. I gave up... I will not buy a coin operator heavy duty washer from them again. I requested a return authorization for a defective product and I did not get anywhere. Thanks.

I purchased a washing machine FS65 on 10-30-2005. In Oct. 2009, my washing machine developed some fault so I contacted the Whirlpool service center and got it repaired. Again in Dec. 2010, the appliance became faulty and so I contacted the service engineer to attend to the machine. He repaired it and I paid 2500/-. But the very next day, my appliance showed the faults again. It was rectified with replacement of PCB and I was charged 2786/- on 01-20-2011. Again on 09-04-2011, the machine became defective. On the call to service center on 09-05-2011 and attended by engineer on 09-06-2011, I was informed that PCB is defective. I failed to understand that the PCB replaced in January was of what quality that it has to be replaced now after such a short span of time. I feel that this is clear cheating with me.

Having spent over RS 40000 on a so-called quality product one does not expect to spend nearly 20000 within the first two years of the purchase. 1. As soon as the warranty got over the PCB (costing 3000) broke down. 2. This replacement had a 3 MONTH warranty. Exactly after 9 months again the PCB breaks down along with leakage of gas. The service team asks us to buy a stabilizer to ensure that no such issues occur as they attribute these breakdowns to voltage fluctuations which are not of any precedence in Delhi. Also the product I am using was sold to me as a stabilizer-free working. 3. I made the suggested investments 4 months later the fan and motor of the freezer stop working. Imagine so much repair work on a new equipment. I have been writing to them yet all that they say in response is we are looking into the matter. NO ONE SHOULD BUY WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATORS.

I have a combo Microwave oven/oven GMC275PDS07. When the microwave is finished with the requested program, the end of program chime lets you know its done. Then, if the door is not opened for at least 3 seconds, the chime will ring again every minute thereafter ad nauseum. This will go on for hours without end. I know because I tried it. I reached out to Whirlpool via a web chat and my question was not even addressed. I was ignored. From reading other submissions, I assume this is de rigueur for Whirlpool. I then called Whirlpool and spoke to Katie in Tennessee. She was not able to bring up any make or model when I provided her the numbers exactly as listed on the inside of the door. She was not able to provide any respite from this annoying feature. This a Whirlpool Gold model, presumably the top of the line, in my book I will never purchase any Whirlpool product of any type and I will make it a point to let anyone who will listen that Whirlpool is not a manufacturer that takes its customers concerns seriously. Katie then advised that she looked up this feature and told me there is no way to turn the beeping off. I find this amusing since she could not find the model or serial number when I gave it to her.

Whirlpool model WRV986FDEM Purchased May 31, 2017 from Lowes. Cost: 2,638.10 including 229.97 for the 5 year extended warranty. We’ve experienced four failures in the nearly four years we’ve owned this lemon. The first failure occurred within the one year manufacturer’s warranty period. The three failures since then have been fairly close together. Control boards and mechanical parts have been replaced. We are now waiting for a “made to order” part, with no scheduled delivery date. When I pressed Lowe’s on the reliability of this fridge, I was told that if four failures occur during the extended warranty period, they would give us a replacement. Considering the delays in repairs and frequency of failures, this is unacceptable. Do Lowes and Whirlpool expect their customers to just suck it up and do without a refrigerator for months while we wait? The warranty is worthless without prompt problem resolution. Whatever happened to real customer service?

We have had a GX5fhdxvy 07 Whirlpool Gold French door fridge with bottom freezer that is approximately 4 years old. Since the first 6 months of use, so 3.5 years now, we have had continual problems with a flat sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer which then builds up and leaks all over our floor. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio set, in 2009. I bought the top loading washer, and matching dryer. Since 2009, I have had the washer serviced FIVE times. Bearings, water pump, F1, F2, ul codes, and a few other things, I honestly cant remember. I love this capacity. But that is all I love about this machine. Today, the water pump went out again. I have been reading online regarding loose coins making their way into the drain pump, the hose, and other parts of the washer. I am diligent about emptying my pockets, but, obviously, someone in the house is not. There should be a trap for the coins, buttons, and any other debris that passes through, but, clearly there is not, and it appears I am not the only one with this problem. I am so frustrated. I paid almost $3,000.00 for this set. It was my very first brand new set and I have had so many problems with this. With all of the problems and all of the complaints, and so many similar complaints, why is Whirlpool not acknowledging them? Why are they not doing anything about it? Side note, my dryer works fine.

What we do NOT love, is how easily the knobs turn. You barely brush against them, and gas leaking into the kitchen. I called for service. Our guy said yes, they turn easier than most of the stoves he has worked on. He called tech support from my kitchen, and I overheard the guy at the other end. His response was dismissive. I have had gas ovens for 20 years. They have without exception, had a spring type feeling to the knob. This stove has none. I am writing this so that if others are experiencing the same thing, they will see it is not their imagination. Something is wrong with the design of the knobs or some part is missing.

GB2SHDXTS02 - Bought the Unit and an additional 4 yr protection plan. Shortly after the plan expired the plastic drip pan cracked and spilled water all over the laminate floor. It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesnt cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. My fault for not checking ratings before I bought, but built in obsolescence is obvious here. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but I will never or will my family ever buy another appliance from them.

Horrible Customer Experience. After having my Whirlpool side by side with bottom freezer for 5 months it quit cooling (both freezer and refrig portions). This happened on a Saturday evening and Whirlpool was closed until Monday (no emergency service shown on their website for my area). Whirlpool contacted their service agent and they could not come out until Wednesday. Service tech said compressor was bad and had to order new one. Compressor arrived the next day however they could not come back until the following Monday to install. By this time I was without a refrigerator for 9 days. Techs installed new compressor and by Tuesday it quit cooling again! Tech came out the next day and said he thought the problem was the compressor and now says its the evaporator. I had to wait until the next week before they would come and install the new evap. By that time I will be without a refrig/freezer for 16 days. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and talked to several different people and all they would offer me is $50. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

We bought this unit (Whirlpool fridge #WRF555SDF201) in November 2016. Was so excited! The fridge looks great, love the French doors, and the freezer. Its the ice maker! It spews crushed ice all over every time it is used. Its like the setting is stuck in-between crushed and cubed. Every time it is used ice goes on floor and I have to clean it up. If a small child uses it they get ice in their face and down their shirts. I have been told from Whirlpool and Lowes that it is in the design and they will not even try to fix it. They will definitely not replace it. Lowes claims they know about the way Whirlpool designs their ice makers and that they mention it to prospective buyers, but I know they did not tell me of this design flaw in the product before we bought it. I now simply have to deal with it. It is less than a year old and I burn with disappointment every time I use the ice maker. I am even more disappointed in the lack of concern for me, the customer. We bought 6 Whirlpool appliances at the same time from Lowes about 6 months ago. It will take awhile but they will NOT be replace with Whirlpool or purchased at Lowes.

We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer WTW6400SW2 and 2 Cabrio Dryers WGD6200SW1 (one for our cabin) in 2007. Since day one the washer tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and went out of balance several times each load. We purchased from Best Buy who did their best to service the dryer (black, rusted vents replaced inside dryer). But as for the washing machine, we were told there was nothing they could do. The repairmen stated Whirlpool was aware of this issue and doing nothing. When I called Whirlpool, they said no repairs were logged for the washer. No, of course not. The repairmen said there was nothing they could do! This went on and on until our machines went out of warranty. Now Whirlpool happily tells us with glee in their voice that its out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. They know there is nothing they can do. The design is faulty! The line needs to be pulled out of manufacturing! Whirlpool did say they would log a customer complaint on the design. Right. Im sure they dont have any of those yet. Whirlpool is defrauding the consumer with products they know are defective. Please people, do not purchase any Whirlpool products. Put them out of business where they belong.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio a few months ago. Every time we do a load of laundry, the clothes are not getting cleaned. Dark colored clothing, including grey clothing, comes out of the washer with white residue, streaked all over the clothes. We have to rub the residue into the clothes to make it go away. If we attempt to dry it and do not get the residue scrubbed off the fabric, when the clothes get dried, there are white streaks in the clothes. This is extremely frustrating. We spend a lot of time getting the residue rubbed into the fabric every time we do a load of laundry. The local appliance store has told us that perhaps we are using too much soap. We have used nothing but the high efficiency soap, as recommended by Whirlpool, and have reduced the amount of soap per their suggestion. It is now to the point where we are using hardly any soap at all, in the hopes that we would not have to spend 30 minutes working on the clothes after every load. That has not worked. The white residue is still all over the clothes, and since we are using less soap, I dont think our clothes are actually getting cleaned. When we wash a load of whites, they arent getting cleaned at all, even when we use bleach. In fact, when I compare brand new undergarments with recently bought undergarments that have been washed a few times, the ones that have been washed a few times are noticeably different in color, they are actually starting to turn grey in color.I have used Affresh in the washing machine, per the manufacturers suggestion, numerous times. We had thought maybe that was the problem. But even the load right after the Affresh treatment leaves the white residue or does not get the clothes cleaned. This washing machine was close to $700.00, and I feel that for that amount of money, I should be able to expect clean clothes. I have never had a problem with a Whirlpool product before, so I had no qualms about purchasing this washing machine. At first, I thought maybe it just needed to get broken in, that it would stop leaving the residue after it had been used a few times. However, that has not been the case. I have tried everything I can think of to improve the performance of this washing machine, but nothing helps. When I contacted the local appliance store to complain, they suggested I cut back on the soap. I told them that I had tried that and it didnt work. They told me to use Affresh, I told them I did that. I asked them if they would take the washing machine back; let me trade it in for something else. I would even be willing to get a cheaper washing machine, I just wanted something that worked. They told me they couldnt do that. Even though I was still under warranty, unless it was broke, they couldnt do anything, and even then, all they could do would be to try to fix it. They couldnt take it back and give me a different washing machine. The experience I have had with this washing machine is the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. I had always thought of Whirlpool as a trusted brand for appliances, but if this washing machine is any indication of how they now makes appliances, I will never buy another one of their shoddy products again; and you can guarantee I will be telling my friends, family, and coworkers not to buy Whirlpool products either.

We purchased a gas range (Whirlpool AccuBake model # mfgxfg361lvt1 serial ry1810956) a few years ago and have been very unhappy with the gray grids that it came with. We wrote to you about how we should clean them and you recommended heavy-duty degreaser, pin31552a and gas grate & grill cleaner, pin3167a, which we purchased. Neither worked, even with heavy elbow grease. We are very upset. We have purchased Whirlpool products all of our life and would like an answer or some type of explanation. If possible, can we get the grids in black? We try our best to keep these things clean and this is a very bad patten.

Absolutely terrible product. Have had nothing but problems with it since I got it. After 4 months the pilot started going out every couple of days. Would have to vacuum the filter just to get it to light. They eventually sent me a screen to wrap around the bottom, that would only extend the interval to maybe a week instead of going out every few days. Now tonight it wont even relight! So tomorrow Im buying another heater and throwing this piece of junk out, a waste of $750.00 for two years of headaches. Dont, trust me. Dont buy this garbage of a water heater. And like others I bought it a Lowes, done with both of these stores!

How would you like to be without a refrigerator for 10+ days? How do you justify 10 days without a service tech being available for what I call an emergency! Either you need to hire more technicians or make BETTER products. My suggestion is have a supervisor go out to a call first and access the problem. My case, a tech shows up after waiting 10 days, to tell me my refrigerator needs all the parts. Which means Ill have to wait probably another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive. Im sure the parts werent ordered to be expedited. Im beyond furious. We lost everything in our freezer. Doesnt stay frozen in coolers. When we purchased the refrigerator, just under two years ago, the service tech was out three separate times because our ice maker kept going on the blink. Finally, I purchased ice maker, because your refrigerator only makes ice when it wants. Not reliable! Second problem, the lights in refrigerator & freezer went out. Real smart to install LED lights that can only be replaced by a technician. Insane for the consumer. (Cost of lights replaced w/o warranty contract is $100). DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ENJOY MISERY!!Why would you put glossy black finish on front of refrigerator, and the sides have black texture, where you cant see fingerprints. Has to be cleaned daily! Hope you can rectify the problem before two more weeks pass. Model: WRS322FDAB. SERIAL#: HR72710418. Not a fan of your lemon of refrigerator. I bought a Whirlpool fridge. On the 2/29, I called service for Whirlpool on 3/2. No one was able to come out until 3/5. So, I had the inconvenience of food being stored, time away from work, and food spoilage. The fridge was fixed and worked until I wake up today (not even a week) and the freezer is thawing out yet again. Again, I removed food and there’s more spoilage. I’m waiting for service to arrive some time today. I called Whirlpool and there is no compensation of any kind. I’m never buying a Whirlpool product again.

Very unhappy all the way around with Whirlpool. The first refrigerator shipped had to be replaced, I do not remember the original problem, just the ordeal involved. The replacement had to have the computer board replaced twice, the icemaker stopped working after a few months, the freezer door does not seal properly. And now, after less than 3 years, the drain is clogged. After researching, come to find out this is a common problem and has resulted in many water damaged wood floors, including my own. Never Whirlpool again. There are much better brands on the market today with better price points. I highly recommend staying away from Whirlpool.

I bought a French door Whirlpool refrigerator. It is very pretty. But you always got to double-check to make sure the freezer door is closed. Almost all my house guests leave it slightly cracked because it does not close conveniently like other refrigerators. Water freezes up all over the freezer. I even had to defrost it completely to get the fans to start working properly.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

This washer has been a lemon since the day we bought it. Always leaves marks all over dark clothes. Had to have a part replaced before we owned it a year & repairman from the company said they have to replace that same part every time they go out so they carry them on the truck. Latch broke after owning it for less than 2 years & now it no longer spins water out of clothes. All this & we havent even owned it 3 years. I had a GE washer for years when I first got married & had children. Never had problems like this. Paid it off on Monday & on Friday it became a piece of junk. I purchased this washer about a year ago and have been dissatisfied with its performance since Day One. It takes a long time to run a cycle and has not saved me any water or electricity. I always have to add a second rinse because it doesnt get the soap out (using the recommended detergent) with the regular cycles. Sometimes it doesnt get my clothes clean.Today it tore huge holes in the front and back of one of my very favorite T-shirts, which was a very meaningful gift from a very good friend. This was due to its tangling the clothes even more tightly than it usually does; the tangling process was what tore the material. I always take pains to load the machine in the manner instructed, to put the clothes in loose balls around the outside of the drum, but nevertheless it can take me several minutes to untangle my laundry before I put it in the dryer (also a Whirlpool -- just waiting to see how it disappoints). If I had read the reviews here before I selected my new machines, I would never have purchased the Whirlpool washer or dryer. I certainly never will purchase Whirlpool machines again.

She listened to our issue and was extremely understanding of our frustrations. The representative assured us that we were valued customers and offered to contact our local service provider and authorize the needed repairs to our refrigerator. This interaction has restored our faith in Whirlpool and its partner brands. The representative also provided guidance on future purchases in contacting Whirlpool to purchase its extended warranty.I would suggest using Whirlpools warranty program instead of a retailers program. My husband and I purchased a new Maytag top load washing machine from Best Buy in May 2017. On June 19th, a month later, as I am washing, all of a sudden the machine dies down. I checked everything from the outlet, the plug to the circuit breaker, and nothing seemed to help get my washer to start up again. Unfortunately I had wet clothes inside and the lid is one of those that locks itself and it would not open. :( I called Whirlpool/Maytag to explain my situation and could not believe that they told me that they only have 1 authorized appliance repair dealer they work with in my area and that they didnt show any available appointments until 4 weeks from now? WHAT? Are you kidding me? I could not wait that long, especially since I had soaking wet clothes sitting inside the washer.I asked if I called someone else myself and have it repaired sooner, would they reimburse me for the expenses. They refused to do that and told me I need to wait for their own authorized repair dealers. Talk about bad customer service here :( My husband called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor at Whirlpool and was told that it shouldnt have to be that long for us to wait for repair so why was I told that in the first place? The supervisor proceeded to tell my husband that we will get a call back in 5 days? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 5 days just for someone to CALL us? And then have to wait longer to get our service done? No way!We think that Whirlpool sold Best Buy a lemon and we are paying for it! Why cant they say that they will get in touch with Best Buy so they can deliver a new working machine and take this lemon back? We are not happy with their responses so we will be paying Best Buy a visit to see what else we can do. I already spent unnecessary money to go to a laundromat to wash clothes :( I would recommend that people stay away from Whirlpool products. Well see if we can exchange ours for another brand.

We purchased the Top Loader Cabrio in 2006 for $1100. About 1 yr. later it just stopped, but was covered under a recall. A year later it stopped working again and cost $400 plus we bought a 3 yr. service contract for $350. A few months after the service contract ended, the spin cycle got very loud and it started leaking grease and water. It now need a ball bearing and $600 of work. So now we spent almost $2000 for this washer in 8 yrs. Our Maytag was $400 and lasted 15 yrs and we gave it to someone else who is still using it and we never had it repaired. It sounds like Cabrio customers have been complaining about the same issues for several years but they keep recurring and Whirlpool is doing nothing to correct them. We are not putting more money into it after reading all the complaints. We are buying another washer and another reliable brand. I would have been a customer for life because I did like the way it worked and cleaned, although I hear so many people had problems with that so I am not waiting for that to fail too. And I recommended the Cabrio to several people who bought them and now I hear they are starting to have problems. You should stand behind your product and correct these problems and recall or fix them at a reasonable cost.

We bought a Whirlpool side by side at the end of August 2017. In March of 2018 - the day after I got the letter about extending my warranty - they had to replace the diffuser - it was making a horrid noise and freezing my eggs and milk. This part went again in July. I insisted they extend my warranty which they did - until March 2019. The part went again in November. I again demanded an extension - now it is guaranteed until June 2019. I asked about replacement and was told that as long as it was reparable they would not replace it. This part is dying every four months. The first few times I called, the hold recording touted a repair app - that did not give me much confidence in the company.
