We live in Hawaii, so the price for our stacking closet size unit was exorbitant. It was over $1,000.00. It is small so the size of loads are small too. We bought one that is supposed to sense the load size and deliver the correct amount of water. It does NOT do this. Reviews online show complaints of this same nature. It does clean well but we have to do very small loads to get that.

Very disappointed with this product as well as Whirlpools handling of the situation. I purchased this item 9/15. Its now 10/16 and the plastic that surrounds the glass on the shelves has cracked on 3 of the 4 shelves. The company will not replace because the warranty time has run out. The cost to replace and ship is around $500.00. Big disappointment.

Bought fridge in 2010, I am about to replace the icemaker for the 2nd time at a cost of over $300 each time by a Whirlpool authorized repair tech. No kids in the house and very limited use of icemaker. Motor keeps burning out because of the design flaw per the tech. Very poor design for a $1,500 fridge. Due to these issues I do not intend on purchasing Whirlpool products in the future.

Purchased our hot water heater in August of 2011. About 3 days ago, it just stopped working. Surely it should last longer than this, right? Nope apparently I was taken! We called the manufacturer and described the issue. They said it was the thermopile. They could send us another out in a few days but we didnt want to wait so we paid $50 for a new one we were able to locate at a hardware store. Nobody sells these! We replaced the thermopile but no results... Pilot will not stay lit. Called Whirlpool back and they said to hit the reset button which we did. Called a technician (several) which wouldnt touch the heater. Said nobody works on these because they are riddled with issues. I pleaded with him to test it which he did. He said the control box is out! He said to cut our losses and buy a new one! I am so very upset! I cant afford another one! We called Whirlpool back again to see what they would say this time - they are sending us another control box! After reading all of the complaints and being without hot water, I am not hopeful of a good result! I plan on replacing the control box that they send and then saving for a new heater! I want my money back which Ive heard just wont happen! I have also had nothing but issues with my gas stove made by Whirlpool ever since it was only 6 months old. STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!! Run!!!

I bought a 5 burner Whirlpool range that I really like except the danger of knobs turning on too easily and releasing gas. You just have to brush up against them lightly and they turn. 3 times my nephew has come into a gas smelling kitchen. Whirlpool sent repairman out. He said they operate properly. Really?? What to do?? Does someone have to die?

My husband and I purchased our Whirlpool Gold French Door Fridge-Freezer on bottom in January 2012. Water collects in the bottom of the freezer and creates thick sheets of ice. When the bottom of the freezer is a full sheet of ice, the water just drips onto the floor. I come home from work to a river of water that stretches across the kitchen--and now my linoleum floor is warping from the water. This started only 6 months after we bought the refrigerator. Im sure the warranty is out--what can I do?

We purchased Whirlpool dishwasher Model #GU3200XTXB Nov. 2011. Two weeks later they replaced the soap/rinse aid dispenser because the rinse aid was running out the bottom of the dispenser. Feb. 2012 they replaced the handle which was loose. July 2012 the panel lights werent working and that was replaced. Feb. 2014 the soap dispenser door would not open, so the dispenser was replaced again. March 2014 the soap door would not open again so the computer board was replaced & the door did open. However, it stopped again 3 days later. April 2014 the dispenser and the board were both replaced. The rinse aid dispenser did not dispense leaving the inside with moisture on everything. So yesterday the dispenser was again replaced but now the rinse aid is running out the bottom of the dispenser. Thank goodness we purchased an extended warranty for $169 or we would have spent more than $1,000 on repairs!! The warranty company refuses to acknowledge that their lemon law should apply. There are 2 of us and we use it 2/3 times weekly.

Bought this washer two years ago. First experience was when a load of towels became wrapped around the agitator. Called in service tech who told me to load the bin with the cloths pressed against the bin wall away from agitator, as if the cloths/towels would stay away from agitator. Two years later, Im ready to the machine to the street. Forget sheets and bedding. The agitator wraps them so tight that I almost rip the cloths/sheets to unravel. I had to wash a pair of work pants that were soiled with mud three times and there was still a stain. I will NEVER EVER buy another Whirlpool product.

My Whirlpool microwave door started cracking little by little. Pieces started falling off. My warranty company stated it was cosmetics, so my warranty did not cover it. Finally, the whole door came off. The warranty company finally agreed to replace the door. Less then a month after replacing the door, part of the handle cracked off. There must be some sort of defect in the plastic used to make these doors, and if so, there should be a recall.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine: The washer was purchased in March of 2012
Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine: The washer was purchased in March of 2012 and malfunctioned in December 2014. After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. It took 10 days for the parts to arrive, and another unsuccessful repair attempt was made. The verdict is that a new motor control board, costing $350 plus labor, is necessary. With the delay in service and cost of repairs, I may as well buy a new machine.

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

Pathetic pathetic service!!! Unsatisfactory service!!! First of all, I would like to tell everyone who ever reads this, that please please please never ever use any Whirlpool products, as their service sucks, their response sucks too, and zero co-operation from their people, which will make you regret to have used their products in future. Please note I registered a complaint on the whirlpool no. **.The complaint was that the washing machine used by us had issues, the power button/ on & off button had come out, and this was clearly stated while registering the complaint. I get a call from Mr. ** (Representative of shree enterprises bibwewadi, pune) and the power button issue was well informed to him as well over the phone by me. He arrived to our place without any new material, he sees the machine and interchanges the buttons, i.e. the broken power button is replaced by other button from my machine which was less used compared to the power button. I had to pay a sum of rs. 400/- for the pathetic service I received from your end.I expect a response from your side within next 4 hours, or I might have to escalate this issue!!! (Please note Whirlpool team that I had submitted the same on your website yesterday, yet I have not received any response from your side). (Whirlpool rating- 0 out of 100). Thanks. (And whoever reads this, please tell me where else can I post this review of mine so that I shall alert everyone that how bad whirlpool service is)...

We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.

I purchased whirlpool Model# WFG540H0ES gas with convection. I purchased it because the price was $1000 dollars less than comparable ovens and even now the price has gone up $300 since I purchased it. I really wanted the luxe look at a discount price, a burner that you could lay a grill over, and five burners which it provided all of those things. I hesitated to buy this oven because the door fell off the last Whirlpool within three years and they refused to fix it so I tried not to buy this brand but it had the amenities I wanted for the price I could afford. I really like the oven. I like the oven the best because it really does make a great cake. I like the two large grates that sit across the oven. It makes it feel high end. If you dont wipe the range immediately grease gets stuck on the range and is hard to clean. This is what I like the least. Im ready to wipe on the weekend and its too late. It took me four days of internet comparison to decide on this one. The house is not painted, the cabinets are falling off the wall literally but I am extremely proud of this oven and it makes me feel affluent even though Im not.

This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.

I just replaced our Whirlpool Accubake Double Wall oven, model RBD305PDS14, because it fried the control panel after being put on self clean. This was the second time this has happened and I have probably only used the self clean feature three times since we purchased the oven. Im not a specialist in defective product design, but having a control panel burn up two out of three times when the self clean is used suggests a significant problem. I refused to pay to have it replaced again and obviously did not replace it with another Whirlpool product or any other brand associated with the company. I see that this problem has a long history dating back quite a few years with Whirlpool doing little or nothing to resolve the issue. (They just deny any knowledge about any defect in the design.) Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice shame on me!

We bought a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. Installed it, wife used it for two loads. The third time she tried using it the door sprung and it no longer latches. After two weeks of calling Whirlpool, we finally had someone come out to fix it. After the repairman took a hammer to the frame he stated that it had been dropped. He wobbled the dishwasher back and forth with his hand. He said the frame will never be correctable and we will always have problems. After another week we got a hold of Whirlpool and were told the repairman has ordered parts to repair the dishwasher. Whirlpool is hoping it will hang together until the warranty expires. If the dishwasher were fixable that would be fine. However, when the repairman who has years of experience in his job tells me it will never be right and will always be a problem, I believe him.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in 2007. They have been the biggest pieces of junk. One year after my purchase, the water pump broke and had to be replaced for $100 and that is with my husband doing it. Then the dryer broke twice. Now, the washer is not spinning. He took it apart and I purchased $80 in parts. It still doesnt spin. He thinks the motor went and it gives a p50 code. This washer does make holes in your clothes. So many of my summer tops were ruined because of this washer. A friend has the same washer and she started getting the holes in the clothes, so that is how we figured it out. Today, I went and picked up a washer at my rental home, a GE that is 10 years old. My clothes never felt cleaner and it runs like a charm. That Cabrio always smelled like mildew because it seemed like all the water didnt drain out of it and it would sit in the bottom. What a shame. Its only 6 years old and I paid $800 for it and for parts. My husband cant wait to put it on the curb on garbage day. My friend warrantied hers and when the guy couldnt fix the problem, they gave her partial money back. At least she got something. These should be recalled and we should get partial money back depending on how old it is. I will tell everyone not buy these. They are the biggest pieces of junk!

We purchased a Whirlpool Energy Smart Electric Hot Water Heater with a 12-year warranty from Lowes on August 30, 2010. The water heater stopped working and the green light was flashing three times. We contacted Whirlpool since it was less than two years old and they were very rude to us. They told us it was the sensors and we would have to change them out. We waited while they sent the sensors to us. We installed them and it still would not work. It continued to flash three times just as before. We contacted Lowes where we purchased it and they were extremely apologetic and said they would be glad to replace it if we could get an RA number from Whirlpool, but that many others have been having a hard time dealing with Whirlpool. We contacted the rude people at Whirlpool again. They said they were not surprised that the sensors did not fix it. We asked for an RA number so we could get a replacement (after all, it did have a 12-year warranty). Now we were days later with still no hot water. Now this rude technician said it was probably the control board. I asked him if we were going to have to be without hot water until we changed every part on the unit. At this point, we just took the hot water heater out, put it on the curb, and went and purchased a different brand. Whirlpool has lost us as customers for life. If their other products are as horrible as that hot water heater, I wouldnt take any if they paid me to. They were by far the rudest and most hateful people we have ever dealt with and life is too short to be treated that way. I predict they will be out of business in no time with the garbage they are putting out.

The icemakers Whirlpool has been using for the last couple of years are a PITB. They have diamond shaped ice cubes which are great but, whenever the filter nears the end of its life, the icemaker fill tube freezes up. Occasional freezes up just because. Changing the filter, although the old one supposedly has some life left, may/may not solve the problem. Filling the ice tray with foreign ice for a few days thaws the fill tube and it will generally start up again - maybe. Complete waste of time and energy!

I originally brought this to the attention of Whirlpool on February 27, 2014, and they chose to ignore the matter I raised. I am appalled at their customer service, but then again, customer service has been dead in America for decades now. I purchased a KitchenaAid (Architect Series II, Model KERS807SSS02, Ser. XW4704146) oven in 2009, which included a 5-year extended warranty. The first time I had to use my extended warranty was the first time a pot overboiled and thus overflowed covering the top of my range. Since then, Ive had to have my oven serviced two other times, but resulting from a pot which overflowed on the range. The controls are located in the front, directly below the stove top. There is most definitively a flaw in the design of the model I purchased. It seems quite obvious to me that the design should have included protection from moisture reaching the controls. It is very common for pots to overboil, from time to time, and thus overflow, but this should not cause the controls to malfunction due to seepage. Had I purchased the model that had controls behind the range and controls above the cooking surface, moisture would never reach the controls when a pot overflows. It should not cost hundreds of dollars each time a pot overflows on a range. Had I known that the oven model I purchased had a design flaw that allows moisture to reach the computer controls of the oven, I would have purchased the oven with the controls above the cooking surface.I invested over $2K on this oven because having owned KitchenAid appliances in the past, the KitchenAid brand had historically proven reliable. KitchenAid (or now Whirlpool) can no longer take pride in the quality of their products, most likely relative to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Whirlpool ignored me the first time I contacted them on this matter and most recently today when I was told that it was a use matter. Apparently they believe that an overflowed pot is not a common occurrence on a range. I wrote directly to Jeff Fettig, CEO of Whirlpool and he has chosen to ignore me.

Hi team, I have to lodge this complaint after because of getting continuous problems I have suffered with my Whirlpool fully automatic washing machine top load 11 kg bloom wash 360 degree. I purchased the abovesaid brand new washing machine on 1st Jan 2017. Since the purchase I am struggling with this machine. I raised the fault in the beginning itself and the service was done on 5th of Feb. Jobs sheets enclosed here with.Similar issues kept on arising and whenever I raised those issues with the whirlpool team, they mentioned that company policy is to repair the faulty part if it’s in warranty and they will not replace. They suggested me to go for the AMC and to be on the safer side, I also took AMC under warranty period only. (AMC card - My cheque dates and service details all are mentioned onto it.) Recently I faced another issue on 26th Feb for which ticket was raised. Engineer visited on 27th Feb and advised us to replace the motor part. On 3rd March they replaced motor mechanism and ball-bearings. Then engineer advised us to check the working by giving a trial wash.I started the machine to wash clothes and after 20 mins machine started making abnormal noise. (I have made video of it, audio of the video captured the noise). I again called up the service engineer immediately and informed him about the voice coming out of machine and he gave a lame answer by saying “It is normal sound”. Then I again called Whirlpool and requested senior engineer visit to resolve the issue. Senior engineer visited and told us that one of motor screw wasn’t tighten properly. It opened while running the machine which completely damaged the motor. After that I am continuously calling to service centre to get the updates on my machine motor replacement. Finally they mentioned that they dont have motor part available with them due to company ceased this model productivity. When I raised this issue with the Whirlpool team they mentioned that they can only pay 40% of the machine value, because I had AMC. However, I did mention that this damage is caused by the negligence of their service engineer, but they didn’t discuss anything about it.When I continuously chased them they dropped me an email to refund only the 40% of the machine value. I feel cheated and harassed!! When I bought the machine they gave us 10 years warranty now they mention that motor is not available as it’s a 5 years old model. My grievance is that since I had already taken the AMC and the damage was also caused by their engineer, why I have to bear the loss. I have already struggled a lot with this machine since last 5 years from the day I bought this machine and now I am losing my hard earned money. Kindly do the needful. Documents attached as follows: 1. Serial number of this machine 2. Bill/ Invoice copy from dealer 3. Job sheets4. AMC card (with 3 years extended warranty) Thanks,Pratibha

We purchased a Whirlpool water heater at Lowes for $1100.00. Four years later it isnt working. There are no parts to fix it available at any store in Dallas, TX. We had to call the company. They made us pay the overnight shipping fee for the part. Then the part didnt show up. When we called to find out why isnt the part at my house, they said they found out FedEx doesnt deliver on Saturdays. No one ever called to notify us of this, instead the response was that they would use it as a coaching lesson for not notify the customer. We have now been without hot water in the middle of winter for 5 days. We have no idea when the part will arrive and if it will even fix my defective water heater. We will never buy another Whirlpool product and I strongly encourage anyone who reads this to not buy Whirlpool. They dont stand by their product and have horrible customer service.

The only reason I am giving it one star is because it looks good in my kitchen. This dishwasher does not clean the dishes. I’ve had it serviced twice, both having to wait for parts, I am very disappointed. Having to run the dishwasher two times to find myself hand washing... Is annoying. Dissatisfied. I don’t put certain dishes in and run very scant loads. Family of six is not happy!

We purchased Whirlpool Oasis. The top loader washer and dryer 5 years ago from Sears. Both are scrap now. Paid high end money for these. Tub was changed on washer 2 years after purchased. Now looks like electrical control panel is gone. Oh well, Sears not really the problem because Whirlpool holds the monopoly on appliances. They are made to fail. Watch marketplace or W5 shows the tech men tell the story... You want to get screwed, buy a whirlpool. Hell I did.

About five years ago, I purchased a top load Whirlpool Cabrio washer and matching dryer. For the past couple of years or so, this washer gets out of balance every spin cycle. It sounds like a mac truck running through my house. At this time, I do not have $300-$400 to buy a warranty when I feel that this problem is so widespread (via internet complaints) that Whirlpool should fix this problem. I replaced a perfectly working 13-year old Maytag washer simply because my dryer went out. I have contacted customer service with no results. I recommended this washer to my neighbor about a couple of years ago and now I am sorry I did. Little did I know that three years in there would have to be a repair. As you know, this isnt a bottom of the line cheap washer, therefore, I wouldnt expect it would be acting like one after this period of time. I asked Dave who at Whirlpool cared and basically, he had no answer. I told him that I would expect a company as large as Whirlpool to have people who have the job of searching the internet to see what people are saying about the company and if they did, they would know this was a problem with these washers and would initiate some sort of recall. This is such a bone of contention at my house that I wish the thing would just die so I had to go buy another (and trust me it wont be a Whirlpool). But rather, I get to listen to my washer thrust throughout my house every load I do.

If you have the double oven below with bad board, start shopping for a new oven, but the part is no longer made. How can you end of the life a product after only 6 years? This is about the RBD305PDS12 double oven! I have wasted 3.5 days with Whirlpool/Maytag. Its very Frustrating how each department passes you along and makes promises about what the other department can do, resulting in zero satisfaction. None of them are well informed to say the least.I have a 6-year-old double oven that has a bad board and after 3 days, I find out it is no longer made. I paid $1500.00 six plus years ago and now I get to spend $2000 plus to get a new one. Again, how can you end of life a product after only 6 years?

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2014. It is a side by side with ice maker in the door. About 8 month ago the ice machine stopped working. I called an appliance repair center and they diagnosed the problem as being the control board for the ice machine. After only 3 years this stopped working? I gave them to OK to fix it. A few days later I was informed that the part is on backorder for a few months. Well a few months has become 6 months and no part is available. I contacted Whirlpool and they called me and promised a solution, but then they never contacted me again. So it is almost 7 months later and I still have no ice. How can a relatively newer product break down and then not have a part available? Whirlpool absolutely does NOT care about their customers and does NOT back their products. Stay away at all costs.

I purchased two Whirlpool refrigerators 9 years ago and this year, 2018, both of them died. Bad compressors that cost up to $700 to replace. Repair folks would not guarantee them as there could also be other issues, like leaks in the internal parts of the refrigerator. I have a 20 year old frig (Kenmore) in my garage than runs great, no repairs and is in a non heated area. My conclusion is that that Whirpool reduced cost by making cheap products.

And now six months after the warranty expires, the freezer is not working and wont make ice anymore... and I will be charge 400php for check up. Reading on other reviews, I bet I am buying a disposable appliance from whirlpool. The national ref of my sis been a service to her for more than 10 years and its still going good. Our GE ref prior to whirlpool serve as for 19 years.... but this brand sucks.

The control knob broke off the washer when it was only two years old. I contacted Whirlpool by email about what happened with the dryer. The control panel is held tight to the dryer now with duct tape and the knob is held on also with duct tape. The knob doesnt work. It is stuck on timed dry so I can at least use it and adjust the time. I cannot use any other setting. It would cost about the amount of the dryer to have it repaired. The customer representative informed me that sometimes things dont last. Im glad for his profound wisdom, but Im stuck with a dryer held together with duct tape. I was offered an extended warranty, but the cost of repair will be nearly the amount of a new dryer. I will seek a different brand in the future.

My Whirlpool oven (Model WFG505M0BS0) stopped working - the bottom oven part (the top burners were OK), the display on top functioned normally, but no fire came on. I called Whirlpool, and then I accessed Whirlpool online and scheduled service with their official service representative - Flamingo Appliance Service ** for September 9, 2020. When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! FLAMINGO APPLIANCE SERVICE ARE THIEVES, AND BY ASSOCIATION, WHIRLPOOL, WHOM THEY REPRESENT ARE THIEVES ALSO. I shall publicize to the best of my abilities: NOT TO BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!! This was not a mistake!!! This is the way they rip people off!! Either by paying exorbitant amounts for unnecessary repairs, or by buying new appliances when the old ones are still good. Dont buy Whirlpool!!! Dont use Flamingo Appliance Service. Theyre both fraudsters.

This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

I am sure this will be removed quickly... But my advice to my fellow consumers is do not purchase Whirlpool appliances. They do not stand behind their products and they are a nightmare to deal with. I purchased my range (Model WEE730H0D50) May 8, 2017 and from that day the oven never work (the board was out on a brand new product). They arranged a service tech to come out 3 times. Each time the service tech discovered the replace board was damaged. So I have not been able to use my oven since I bought it in May. 3 months later now the stove top stopped working. You would think after all these issues they would replace their product. But nope I have to wait 2 weeks to get this lemon serviced again... I have young children at home which makes things worse...

We purchased a top loading Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, Model #WTW8040DWO from Lowe’s on October 15, 2015. Since that time, we have had a service call on three separate occasions. The last service call, the service technician got Whirlpool on the phone with their technician. The washing machine would get stuck at 40 minutes and would continue to fill with water, drain and fill with water and would never progress. After the service technician talked with Whirlpool technician, it was explained the machines electronics were so sensitive that the washing machine had to be on an independent CIRCUIT (meaning absolutely nothing else can be plugged into the circuit). We contacted Whirlpool indicating that was not acceptable. Very few, if any houses, have a washing machine on an independent CIRCUIT. Whirlpools response - I have an independent circuit for every appliance in the house. Obviously, she does not know what a circuit is. Totally disgusted. Will NEVER buy another whirlpool product again. Horrible product and horrible customer service.

We purchased a new home April 2013. All our appliances were new Whirlpool stainless. Looked nice. After almost a year our microwave started acting improperly. Beeping, changing screens, not working when buttons pushed. Then the micro wave had a melt down and caused the glass try to break, parts to melt and caught fire internally melting plastic. Notified Whirlpool and they sent out individuals to repair. After several weeks the repair was completed and we were advised that they did not understand why this would or could happen. We should be fine now. Well we are now again having this unit beeping, changing screens, not working when tried, and when entering numbers, number and time are not what was trying to be entered. This unit my wife says is possessed and she wont use it. She fears it will burn the house down. It is Velos model TR 2 24 11000 serial number. It now beeps and changes with door open as I read the serial number.

We bought a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator in July of 2018 and it has gone out twice (quit cooling and has completely frozen over). The first time it went out at 6 months and the second was two days after the factory warranty expired (the warranty for the Whirlpool repair company lasted only 90 days for parts and labor which is useless). I’ve called the company to come take a look and it will cost over $100 just to have someone come out since we are outside the factory warranty window by four whole days. I was basically told there is nothing they will do even though the same problem keeps happening. This refrigerator was brand new and didn’t even make it six months. Now we will need to either pay hundreds of dollars for repairs (knowing that the issue will likely happen again) or buy a new refrigerator. Even though we have barely had this appliance a year. I will never, ever buy Whirlpool products ever again. I also posted my negative rev on their official website and it never got published. They only show their 4-5 star reviews (all of which say the customer has been incentivized in some way). This is a misleading and sneaky process.

The piece was ordered and the repairman came to install the part on December 28, 2011.The refrigerator is still not working at all. We have been without ice for this period of time, not to mention the inconvenience of non-refrigeration of food. I pleaded for them to pick up the refrigerator and give me even a partial refund. WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR MODEL WRF532SMBM01 FRENCH DOOR - Gasket in refrigerator door totally cracked in bottom part and torn on the side only after 2 years and one month of use. I have another Whirlpool refrigerator for 7 years without gasket failure. My other 3 previous refrigerators which I have owned more than 10 years. Each also never had any problems.

The stove started having problems about 5 months after I bought it new, it had a 1 year warranty on it so the first repair was covered but it begun to have the same problem a few months after the repair. By the time I contacted the company they told me the warranty was expired and ask if I wanted to buy another year of coverage for $300, of course I said no. I repaired it myself and once again it worked for a few months and now the problem came back. Will not heat up so dont waste your money.

I purchased a (second) Whirlpool washer (WFW87HEDW0) in October 2014. Since purchasing (and to this day), I manually dried the rubber gasket after completing my daily washes, knowing that mold growth was possible. I wash one to two loads of clothes about three to four days per week. During the first year, I did not notice any mold in this area and was confident that the manual drying and cleaning with Affresh was preventing mold growth. However, at the beginning of this year I discovered a little mold growth, which has slowly been increasing, in the inside lower lip of the rubber gasket. The image attached reflects mold in its current state. I was very surprise to see this happening since my diligent cleaning has been thorough and never ending. I even remove the soap dispenser tray to clean and air dry it outside of the washer and leave the washer door open at the end of the daily washes for extra fresh air circulation. This is my first official complaint about a Whirlpool front loader washer, even though I previously owned another (GHW9200LQ0) before this one and had mold growing on the rubber door gasket but, unfortunately, never officially complained about that old machine. Now, I dont qualify for the $500 compensation because I never officially complained three times within the first five years of owning the old washer. To my dismay, I did not immediately realize I had mold growth in the old washer. It was only until years later that a repairman told me that I had mold growth in it. In addition to telling me the price of replacing the rubber part and replacing a broken water pump plus labor would cost as much as buying a new washer. Before purchasing a new washer, I researched and read many reviews about Whirlpool and other brands before deciding on this new Whirlpool. I decided to give Whirlpool another chance and to follow their recommendations on the proper cleaning of the machine. Once again, I am disappointed and angry with Whirlpool and, now, have to figure out what to do with my current situation.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

Burners always needed replacing and now do not work anymore - Whirlpool range looks nice, but very expensive to maintain. The burners constantly needed replacing, they do not heat up. I got a repair technician to look at it. He replaced the parts that the burners hook into. Now they do not heat up at all. Well, one of four barely boils water. The oven still works, oh great. The thing is only 7 years old. I have had ovens that lasted 20+ years at my dads house or 15 years at another house I lived in. With all the negative comments and the repair guy who tried to fix it, I think it is time to get the kids Easy-Bake Ovens out of the storage or buy a new range. Obviously, it will not be a Whirlpool. So many negative comments people left, my useless top burners seem mild comparatively.

I called customer service and they told me I had to clean the oven with a little elbow grease before I put the self cleaning on? Really? I have to clean the self cleaning oven by hand beforehand? I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

This washer is going back. It simply will not spin the water out of the clothes. It says it gets clothes drier than a conventional washer, but I have not found that to be true. I have to use the drain/spin cycle over and over and still the clothes are wet. I had the repair crew out and they were able to get it to spin out a very small load consisting of two sheets and two towels. Other than that, it does not spin out water. It is also very difficult to load if you attempt to leave the center open as they recommend. The cycles are very long. Not being able to look inside without pausing it and waiting for it to unlock is also a huge hassle. I am getting one with a glass top so I can see what is going on. If you leave it open for too long, it cancels the cycle and drains all the water, and you have to start over which is another problem because all your detergent just got drained out before the load gets going. It uses so little water on most of the cycles that the clothes get totally tangled up with one another. I think you should be able to choose the water level manually. I am all for saving water but if I want more water from time to time, this does not allow you to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Weve owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher for about seven years. There has not been a year that has passed that we have not had to place a service call with a local service provider. (Each service call costs $85.85.) The upper tray has come off the tracks more than 10 times. The drainage mechanism broke the first time we used the dishwasher. The fuse box (which is amazingly a self-contained, enclosed, black box) has blown twice, has to be completely replaced, and costs over $180. The second time it broke, I ordered, paid for, and had delivered the replacement part only to find out that the broken part suddenly started working again. I have called numerous times to complain about my new Cabrio washer. The first thing the employee did at the service center was to send me an owners manual, which I did not receive when I purchased the washer at Lowes. I followed all of the washing recommendations and still had problems with soap being left on the clothes. I called again and they said that perhaps there was something wrong with the washer and they were going to send a service technician out. I told her that he would probably not find anything wrong with it. I was just very unhappy with the product. She told me that we should check it out and not to worry. It was still under warranty and Whirlpool was going to take care of the service call. The technician told me that they have received many complaints about the machine, but there were no fixes available at this time. Yesterday, I received a bill from the service company for $129.00. I called the service company and told them that Whirlpool should be billed for this, not me. She told me that I had to call Whirlpool and if they wouldnt take care of it, I would have to. I then called Whirlpool, only to be told by the customer service rep that since they didnt find anything wrong with the machine, there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to someone else and she let me talk to her supervisor. She pretty much repeated what I was told by the first person and it is in the owners contract. I told her that I wanted to cancel the extended warranty that I just mailed in this week and she gave me another phone number to call. I cannot express how unhappy I am with your customer service department; the lack of compassion your company displays; and how I was told one thing and then charged a fee. It would seem that you have no eagles working for your company. I cant believe that a company as large as Whirlpool does not stand behind their products.

On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.
