I am 72 years old and this Whirlpool Energy Star HE Washing Machine is just useless. It does not clean clothes properly. It always leaves a stinky washing machine smell which never goes away despite no matter what you do. A completely useless, faulty washing machine! Never ever buy a Whirlpool HE washing machine! Some websites say that you need to buy a washer fan at a cost of $69.99 and attach it to the back of your washing machine as this is the only way you can get rid of the smell. Who has that kind of money? Why is this fan not already included in this washing machine if Whirlpool is aware of the smelly washing machine/smelly clothes problem? This is such a joke! We would like to be reimbursed for our deficient Whirlpool Washing Machine or at the very least, have a recall of this inefficient, poorly designed washing machine. Report them to the Better Business Bureau and anyone else you think can resolve this problem - thanks!! - Unhappy camper

I purchased a Whirlpool stove, microwave and fridge in November 2012. The fridge model #WRT771RWYB01 has been a lemon from day 1. I have had the repairman out for the same issues multiple times. Ice build up in the freezer, water tube to the ice maker frozen, food in the fridge freezing, blah, blah. They have taped, glued, replaced everything they can and to no avail. It still happens. When you call for service, it takes 2 weeks or better to get someone out. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This has truly been a nightmare experience!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on 12-26-14 for approximately $2000.00. I was happy as a clam. On May 22, 2015 it died. No freezer or refrigerator. I called Whirlpool because I had a warranty, or so I thought. The Whirlpool representative was less than helpful, couldnt send a repair man until May 27th. When I told her that that date was unacceptable her response was well I could buy a new refrigerator. To say I was upset is an understatement. Everything in the freezer thawed of course and I cooked for 12 hours trying to save something and gave away all I could and filled the garbage can with the rest. I lost over a thousand dollars in food. Apparently my call to Whirlpool generated a survey sent to me and I filled it out with malice. Whirlpool called me regarding the survey and said they were sorry about the refrigerator but the appliance repair person would be there on the 26th, and oh by the way will you do another survey about their response to my concerns? I was not very lady like when I told them no. So here we are on the 26th and Ive gotten a robo call saying the appliance repair man would be here between 2 and 5pm on the 26th. That repair man showed up @ 4:45pm. He never looked at the refrigerator. I told him exactly what had happened and what noises the refrigerator was making. He promptly picked up his laptop and said I will turn the report in and their office would call me tomorrow to schedule a repair man to come and fix it. Needless to say I was livid and told him that I had been led to believe that the refrigerator would be fixed by him that day. He promptly left right after he gave me his business card. So here we are on the 28th and no one from that company or Whirlpool has contacted me about when repairs will be made. I have never been this upset or angry in my life. I have a worthless piece of junk sitting in my kitchen. Ive lost thousands of dollars. I had saved that money to buy a new refrigerator and Im not a rich person. In fact, I am a retired nurse living on social security and all I want is a working refrigerator that Ive already paid for. Apparently Whirlpool could care less. Im at my wits end as to what to do next. Of course I will call the appliance repair company tomorrow to see if they are going to fix it. I hold out no hope that it will be repaired. And yes, Im tired of buying ice.

My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently.
My 4- to 5-year-old Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 began to display errors recently. F1 was the 1st error code I encountered. After giving the washer a hard shove and rocking, it began to work properly again... for a while. I noticed on some large loads that I was getting an LD Long Drain error. I could hear the pump running but with little water flow. Eventually, it would time out and give the LD error. A service tech was called and determined that the water pump was defective, although the impellers inside appeared okay and had no foreign objects to impede its spinning. After spending $225 for the service call, the LD error resurfaced about an hour after the tech left. Tonight I got the F1 error again, and once again the washer responded to a sharp rap. The replacement control board, which the F1 error code involves, is $220 plus labor. $440+ for a repair to a $600-$700 washer? Im going to dissect the main control board tomorrow and look for loose or corroded connections. I cant understand why the LD code occurs when I can hear the drain pump running... just very little comes out. Other times it empties like Niagara falls... I cant understand why it works sometimes and fails others. The pump is either on or off. It doesnt have multiple speeds as far as I know. Im not sure what to do next... probably try to re-sell the new pump that was installed to recoup some of the money I paid for a non-working Cabrio. This seems to be a very common occurrence.. Have any class action suits been mentioned? If so, please feel free to contact me.

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is a bucket of junk. I bought the washer in about 2008. I was smart and bought the warranty for approximately 3 years. Since I bought it, I have had them replace 3 water pumps, the tub, the computer, and it still knocks and shakes. It also leaves small frayed holes in my beach towels. This machine should be recalled. It needed a warranty from day one. Washer cost $1,000 warranty every year $130.00 per year which covered the repairs at about $900.00 for repairs. I hate it. I just hate it. I can’t stand it anymore. I need a new washer, someone has got to listen.

I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes June 2016. It doesnt wash the clothes at all, always detergent marks or clothes just not clean. Now it is making some loud noise during washing cycles (sounds like motor is dying) and I now I have to wait for someone to come out and fix it during a 8-5 time span, so I have to take off work. I will never buy whirlpool again. So very unsatisfied!

Doesnt clean unless you prewash (by hand). Top rack unstable, falls off runner easily. Level of liquid indicator on rinse aid container broke so I cant tell how much is in it. Main door spring doesnt work so that you cant open door halfway. It flops all the way open. Very ordinary features and I dont use the dry feature. Nothing to praise here. Size is adequate for my needs. However, the bottom section where plates go isnt well designed. Dishes dont fit well. You cant put the plates in a line but there are space left over on the side thats wasted. This is the worst dishwasher I ever had. They seem to get flimsier all the time.

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher from lowest in May of 2011 and it stopped draining, serial # f11601686. I was told it was under warranty and you sent someone out. But surprise, I got a $129 service bill and it couldnt be fixed, computer board gone and drain motor shot. I was told its cheaper to buy a new one. After 10 months of use, we need a new one. I think you should replace my dishwasher and pay for a service call. Oh, the reason they said it wasnt covered is because they sold me a 2007 model.

Whirlpool wsv07 psl satina - I bought my whirlpool, two-door whirlpool ref last Jan 2013. Just few days before the warranty expires, I had prob with gasket on lower door. And now six months after the warranty expires, the freezer is not working and wont make ice anymore... and I will be charge 400php for check up. Reading on other reviews, I bet I am buying a disposable appliance from whirlpool. The national ref of my sis been a service to her for more than 10 years and its still going good. Our GE ref prior to whirlpool serve as for 19 years.... but this brand sucks.

I have a 4.5year old Cabrio washer. Ive replaced the water pump 3 times due to a weak plastic part which keeps blowing out due to pressure. Now, the unit is leaking rusty, black fluid from the bottom. I purchased it at HH Gregg in Indianapolis, In. Svs tech called. They have never seen this on such a new unit. Parts and labor will equal $400.00. Calling whirlpool customer care did nothing. I offered to pay the labor of $100, If they would be willing to pay for parts. Talked to a supervisor who offered to sell me an extended warranty costing $300.00. I am a stock owner in Whirlpool, no joy, dissatisfied with faulty product. They are unwilling to make this situation right. The unit is poorly made. I think a $800 unit should last longer than 4-5 years. In 2006, Whirlpool stopped offering a 5 year normal warranty on their units. Supervisor would not let me talk to anyone else.

I purchased a Whirlpool oven/range from Lowes in September 2016. It was working ok until the convection fan stopped working. I purchased the extended warranty for 3 years but the oven stopped working in December (3 months past the extended warranty). When I contacted Whirlpool to complain about the horrible product they have been selling to people, all they could do was suggest a repair company that charges $99 to come out and diagnose the problem. DO NOT BUY any whirlpool appliances. The name brand used to signify quality but the appliances they sell now will not last. BTW I may have used the convection function maybe once per month over the past 3 years ... So its not like I over used the oven.

We bought model WRS571CID*** which has an in-door ice maker that has stopped working after exactly 3 years. An excellent authorized service rep advised that the wire harness from the freezer to the door was damaged by chafing from normal opening and closing the freezer door, which has caused the ice maker wires to break, thereby disabling the ice maker. The only remedy is replacing entire the door, which would cost $1700 according to Whirlpools published repair data, which he is obligated to charge. Apparently, the wiring harness is not a replaceable part, because I suspect the labor hours needed to disassemble and reassemble the door is prohibitive. Well, a new fridge costs about the repair. I spoke to the Whirlpool company about whether they acknowledge that the design is faulty and that the door should be replaced at their expense even out of warranty, and they declined. So I advise prospective buyers to be aware of this issue and watch other reviews. There are many customer reviews on various sites complaining about this very issue. Our workaround is to put ice trays into the freezer to make ice, and while the dispenser still works, pour the ice thus made into the ice dispenser manually - until the wire control that also becomes damaged and stops working. I would not recommend buying this model.

I waited years to buy this machine. I hate it!!! I agree with the other bad reviews. It destroys clothes. There is barely enough water in it to cover the bottom of the machine much less the laundry. Even deep water is a joke. It does not clean. I put it on the hottest water temp and I can put my hand in there and it is barely warm (it is not my hot water heater). My lightweight comforters come out all tacky and grungy in the middle. The softener dispenser (I use vinegar) dumps in the laundry (no it is not over full) (no I do not slam it shut). I can not let anything soak because the machine will drain after a few minutes and all my detergent, scent crystals etc. are all wasted. I feel like I have to take a survey and complete a questionnaire every time I do laundry. Can someone tell me how to put a comforter in there and leave that little middle eye open? They say the water saver is government regulated? Yup I need the government to do my laundry... I believe in saving water. I have a water saver toilet, shower, faucets. However I can not clean dirty jeans in a gallon of water. My clothes do not even get wet. How does whirlpool get away with advertising this machine can do king size comforter? The gentle cycle will tear apart anything I might put in there because there is no water and that blooming thing just twist and turns so it tears anything delicate. This is the 21st century. I think I should not have to babysit my washing machine. Why should I have to readjust everything in hopes it might be almost clean??? Place this here and that there, wipe the lint out before doing dark laundry. This machine belongs in the dark ages. It is so complicated yet it achieves nothing. A big rip off. I so tired of crying over this purchase. I hate this machine!!!

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a couple years ago at Lowes. It sucks. First of all, my washer stinks all the time. It smells like sewer even after the cleaning cycle. My dark clothes come out with a white residue, and my whites come out with dirt on them that wasnt on them before washing... All this even after running an additional rinse cycle. How is this energy efficient? Not to mention, time efficient??? Crazy that once you buy something like this for this amount of money youre pretty much stuck with it... Isnt there a lemon law for appliances? This was so expensive and such piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool washer ever again!

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in March, 2008. Last time (not sure if its last year or 2 years ago), I had an issue of the water not heating. They have someone came in to replace a part. Recently a humming sound (scary one) keeps on coming on from time to time. It took me some days to find where the sound is coming from, and there it is, my fairly new whirlpool water heater. They said it has something to do with the orifice. Since I am not a handyman, they recommended a service guy to come in, and I have to pay. I wonder how much more I have to spend on this heater? Yes Im saving gas consumption, but it will be spent for service anyway, and I have the added bonus of frustration. It is not worthy having it. I spent $1,400 for the heater and labor.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool water heater from Lowe’s two years ago. The water heater is not heating properly, and I contacted customer service to inquire about their great warranty. I was very disappointed with their poor customer service, but above all, their warranty. They emailed instructions to run a test, which did not resolve my issue since I still run out of hot water halfway through my shower. Mind you, its only one person in the house for a 40-gallon Whirlpool water heater. I have replaced the heating elements and thermostat, and it is still not heating. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, and they are refusing to replace it, stating that the water heater is working. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again. They do not back up their products, and their customer service is worthless. My recommendation is not to buy Whirlpool products.

Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!

I bought a HD Whirlpool in April 2011 and I hate the machine. It does not use enough water to wash clothes. I open the lid every wash and cannot believe Whirlpool can label this as a washing machine; it spits a little water now and then. I am demanding Lowes and Whirlpool to replace the washer. I have used two Kenmore washer for 45 years and I never had any problems. I use hot water to kill germs -- well there is not enough water to drown a fly. How can these manufacturers sell such product and then give the consumer such a hard time when they ask for help. Dark clothes have white residue stuff all over them. I have to hand-wash a lot of my clothes. I have never in 45 years had to do this. I am so mad that Whirlpool is taking everyone for suckers. Now I am sure that there are a lot of people who just never take the time to complain; too much trouble and just go buy another brand of machine. I cannot believe that there are other consumers who are not having difficulty using their appliance without additional lighting in their kitchens.

I have a two year old Whirlpool dishwasher. The soap dispenser cover broke shortly after the warranty ran out. It cost 100.00 for repairs. A year later, it broke again. I sent a letter and the part to the CEO of Whirlpool. They sent a repairmen to fix it free of charge. When you have a problem with a Whirlpool product go to the head of the company. If they get enough calls they will make better parts. Call 1-269-759-6919. Write a letter, return request receipt. It takes a little effort, but it helps a lot of people.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge (WRF560SFHZ) 3.5 years old not cheap! Suddenly one day, the freezer drawer cannot close properly. Since it broke down on a long weekend, I have to wait 3 days in order to contact Whirlpool customer services. And then wait for another 4 days for them to send a technician. The technician advised it is a screw on the rail fall down and he fixed it and charged as 115CAD repairing fee (for a loose screw). He said it is a product defect from Whirlpool and that we should call Whirlpool to ask for a refund.Of course after a long wait from the hotline, Whirlpool refused to refund, saying that, It is not within warranty period and it is perfectly normal that you paid for 17** CAD fridge and can only used for 3,5 years and that things happens (screw can get loose). The service rep. even said, You bought it, it is your property now... And they dont care you have to throw away food in the freezer since the door cannot be closed. And of course they refuse to admit that the product has an inherent defect... Will never buy this brand ever again!

This is truly a piece of junk! My water heater is 2 1/2 years old and the pilot light will not stay on. Was told that I needed a thermal coupler and paid $30 for shipping. Installed it and still the pilot light will not stay on. Was told again that I needed to replace the main control. Another $30 for shipping. Had that installed and the pilot light stayed on but no hot water. The light was blinking 4x (temperature too hot). WHAT!!? ALL I GOT WAS COLD WATER! Now I was told I need to replace the temperature sensor and they wanted another $30! I told them to I was going to junk it and buy a different brand.

French Door Model WRF989SDAWOO: Horrible quality, worse support! We have a new French Door (not inexpensive). Within 3 months of owning it, we phoned in because the unit was periodically making a very loud, metallic humming sound. We were politely told that noise was normal, and that if the unit was working when the service man came out, we would be charged. A few months later, the noise was constant, and we noticed that the temperature was not stable. Freezer was set to 0, Fridge to 36, yet the thermometer was reading 20 (freezer) and 38 (fridge). We called in, concerned that it was failing. We were put on a schedule for 9 days later. We were told we would get a call the day before with a 2-hour window when the tech would come. That didnt happen. We got a call that the tech would come between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (he showed up at 5:35 pm).We phoned in 3 days later to tell them that we were losing food (freezer was now showing 29, fridge 40). We were told (by both Westinghouse and by A&E Factory Service, which is Sears) that we should rent another refrigerator. When the service tech showed up, the first point of contention was that we had Whirlpools warranty (and had paid for the extended warranty) rather than Sears Master Protection agreement. Nevertheless, the tech finds that there is a problem with the evaporator coil, which had to be ordered from the factory. The tech was nice, and told us not to wait to be rescheduled, but to call him directly, and he would come the business workday after we notified him that the part arrived. Another week without a refrigerator / freezer, and now we have to worry about what the tech told us; these units are NOT of good quality, and have had repeated failures in the cooling systems.

Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine model WFW9150WW02 - This machine was purchased new in Sept. 2011 along with a brand new dryer. We started noticing a rumbling sound within the first year, but both machines did a fantastic job on the laundry. Then last week, the washing machine didnt spin out a load of laundry. We called the company and they scheduled a service visit through A&E Factory Service. The technician immediately diagnosed the problem as a bad bearing and said that he had seen the problem frequently with this model and put it down to a design defect. The bearing is housed in a stainless sheath protected by a rubber seal, but the seal lets water in, which rusts the bearing. The cost to repair it was over $700. He suggested I call WP and ask for a concession, whereby the company would at least pick up all or part of the cost of parts. The service representative summarily dismissed the request, saying the company had no obligation to stand behind the product as the machine was out of warranty. I said that this was unacceptable. She was pleasant, but kept asking questions and putting me on hold. Ultimately, she said the same thing. Whirlpool was once a dependable name, no more.

I have owned Craftmaster 30-gallon hot water heater and the only things reliable about it is trouble and aggravation. I purchased this in 2004. I have had to replace the controls, valves, wires, etc. three times in 10 years. And Im now looking at doing it a fourth time. The design of these parts are utter crap! Cheap plastic! After replacing these parts, this hot water heater works great for a few years, then invariably starts acting up. The pilot light goes out when the heater is supposed to kick on instead. Getting the pilot light lit again, is an exercise in futility! The red reset button once released, immediately extinguishes the ignition flame. Supposedly, after holding it down for 1-2 minutes allowing gas to build up, it should light the coils... and if it doesnt, youre supposed to wait 10 minutes to try relighting again. You can repeat this process for 12 hours, and if you finally do get this temperamental piece of junk to light, youre lucky. Customer Service has been useless in assistance. All they want to do is send you e-mail, and get you off the phone. Not to mention, Ive been told by many a rep that the hot water heater extinguishes itself, if water is overheated, and that it must be my fault for setting the temp too hot. Baloney... Ive been told that the underside vent must be cleaned every few months, so that air flow is accurate. Makes no difference one way or the other. And recently, Ive been told by a rep, that my 40-yr-old house likely doesnt vent exhaust out through the roof properly. This product is inferior and unpredictable. Its great when it works, and the pilot light stays lit. God forbid it ever goes out though! It is next to impossible to relight. I have spent more money on service technicians attempting to repair/replace parts, than it would have cost to simply by a new hot water heater. I miss the old days, when it was easy to light a hot water heater: Strike a match, turn the gas on, and instant hot water. No muss, no fuss. Having owned many properties w/ hot water heaters over the years, I have never encountered such repeat problems, as with this product. Its simply not reliable, and not worth the $$$. Never again, will I buy a Craftmaster Product. And I had no clue that there was a Class Action Suit filed, and a settlement involved in these faulty units. Whirlpool/Craftmaster should have notified everyone, who purchased one of their units. Now Im stuck w/ a constantly broken unit, and zero recourse. I will never buy anything Whirlpool/Craftmaster again, as a result.

Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. Keep going like you are, and you will be bankrupt. Cheap overpriced and nothing but junk in any products you manufacture.

We purchased a water heater at Lowes. They sent the water heater and we had to look for someone to connect the WHIRLPOOL WATER HEATER (the runaway water heater). When it was installed the water pressure at my home was so bad that only one shower can be used at a time. This never happened before with the old water heater, there was no pressure at all.We called LOWES the WORST PLACE TO BUY A WATER HEATER, they did not accept any responsibility and they sent me to the Technician that Lowes has in DENVER to fix the problem. This bad company (WHIRLPOOL) sent us a crooked technician who wanted to charge us $600 dollars to repair something other than the water heater. We did not trust this person and we called another technician who told us that the water heater is not working properly. There is no one at LOWES and NO ONE at the Whirlpool customer service who can help us with this disgraceful water heater.DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL WATER HEATERS. DONT BUY AT LOWES!!! They are crooks! We’ve had problems with our fridge where after we had it for about 2 months a crack formed on the inside, the repairman came and put a piece of tape, tape on a new fridge I wasn’t happy. Then we had our stove for about a month and the front right element went it was replaced but to this day it works when it wants to and I brought this to the repairmans attention when he came to replace an element in the oven and he didn’t even offer to take a look at it. We called Whirlpool on the 27th of December to get service on the oven and was told nobody could get here until the 2nd of January. This ruined New Years Eve Plans, New Years Day Plans and our turkey which should have taken a max 5 hours on Christmas Day took 11 hours putting our dinner off until 8:00 pm. We purchased the extended warranty ($700.00) to protect us from high bills for repair and this oven issue ended up costing us about $800.00 for meals out. I asked at the time of my call if there was some kind of rebate to cover our meals and the inconvenience over the holidays and they told me no, that’s pretty bad for such a huge company. Our dishwasher which is also Whirlpool hasn’t worked since day one, we had a repairman out and all he said was, run your hot water before you use it and use Cascade, it’s no longer under warranty and there’s pieces falling off and I have to wash my dishes before I put them through the dishwasher so what’s the use of having one. We purchased all Whirlpool because of the reputation but well never buy Whirlpool again or recommend them.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. I bought a new Whirlpool electric range in the spring of 2008 and purchased the extended warranty from Leons. The oven worked fine for the first three & 1/2 years, but then the bottom element in the oven seemed to have stopped working. The top element would still come on, in an effort to keep the oven at temperature, but was not effective.I called in a repair. The technician showed up, turned the oven on, noted that the bottom element did not come on properly & replaced the motherboard in the control panel with no further diagnosis. The oven worked for approximately 9 months and then the problem recurred. I called in another warranty repair. This time when the technician showed up, he turned the oven on & told me he was going to order a new bottom element, which he installed about a week later, again, with no further diagnosis. Now, here we are again, one month off warranty and 6 mos since the last repair, and again, the bottom element in the oven is not working correctly. I reported the issue & my dissatisfaction to Whirlpool and was basically told, How sad, too bad - hardware components fail and theres nothing we are going to do about it. Seriously? This range is just barely 5 years old and has a history of repeated problems with the bake function - obviously, something is defective in this product.I can see it, if I had not had any problems until this point, but when the same issue keeps coming up & obviously has not been correctly diagnosed and repaired, I would think they would have enough integrity to offer some kind of help or solution. Given the history here, its highly unlikely that Im going to be willing to spend big bucks on another attempted repair that, in all likelihood, will be merely a short term band-aid, so Ill probably have to buy another new range - which I cant really afford right now. Trust me, it will not be a Whirlpool & it will not be from Leons.

I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years
I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years and up until a few months ago I LOVED the washer. I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine from PC Richards in Lake Grove 15 months ago. I paid $590.00. I had to call PC Richards back because it sounded like the machine was not spinning right. The servicemen came back and said nothing was wrong. It was supposed to sound like that. Now the machine stopped draining and spinning. I went to the store and they handed me customer service numbers and said they could not help me. I contacted Whirlpool online and received a phone call from a woman that gave me a lesson on how to load the machine and put soap in it! She was a very polite woman, but, gee, that didn’t solve my problem. After 4 days I was able to get through by phone and was told to call service. I contacted Mahler Appliance. He looked at it and said he couldn’t fix it and took a check for $81.47. He told me to call Whirlpool. I called Whirlpool again and got their service people. The gentleman came and could not figure out what was wrong. He tried a few things and said it was probably the main board. He said to call Whirlpool, but they most likely won’t give me back my money. He could charge me $460.00 for a new board per his supervisor. I just paid $590.00 for the machine and another $87.00 to some guy who took advantage. He left with an $87.00 check and I still have a broken washer. He did tighten up a loose wire he said he found and told me to try it and good luck. So I tried it. I put clothes in and turned it on.I came back about 20 minutes later to see if it continued to run and I slipped and fell on the ceramic floor because water drained out from somewhere and went all over my floor. I have injured my back and elbow from hitting the hard floor. I also have water all over the place and finally a very broken defective washer. I am angry. I hurt myself and have spent close to $1000.00 and I still have no working washer and no way to buy another one. The washer is 15 months old. That’s brand new to me. There was obviously a problem from the beginning. Whirlpool has always had a quality name for years. I would hope that they would stand by their product and fix my washer for me. It is obviously defective.

I have the Cabrio washer that is only four years old. It is leaking oil and is very loud during the spin cycle. I paid $800 for this washer and am extremely frustrated that it didnt last longer than this. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and had no luck since it is out of warranty. Due to the high number of complaints with the same issue, please consider a class action lawsuit. Thank you.

Bought a Duet Whirlpool washer a couple of years ago. After about 6 months, it started to make a lot of noise like a jet taking off. Where we live there isnt a repairman thats able to come and fix it. So we would be required to have it shipped away to have this done. The washer was purchased at The Brick when we bought our new home. When we told The Brick of our problem we were directed to call Whirlpool directly - this we did and like everyone else we were given the runaround with no compensation to come. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

Whirlpool model WRV986FDEM Purchased May 31, 2017 from Lowes. Cost: 2,638.10 including 229.97 for the 5 year extended warranty. We’ve experienced four failures in the nearly four years we’ve owned this lemon. The first failure occurred within the one year manufacturer’s warranty period. The three failures since then have been fairly close together. Control boards and mechanical parts have been replaced. We are now waiting for a “made to order” part, with no scheduled delivery date. When I pressed Lowe’s on the reliability of this fridge, I was told that if four failures occur during the extended warranty period, they would give us a replacement. Considering the delays in repairs and frequency of failures, this is unacceptable. Do Lowes and Whirlpool expect their customers to just suck it up and do without a refrigerator for months while we wait? The warranty is worthless without prompt problem resolution. Whatever happened to real customer service?

We called up the customer care person on 18002081800 and tried asking him the dimensions of the plate pr at least how we could reorder it. He never listened to us. He just got our details. Said that technician will come at 11am tomorrow and disconnected the call when we were trying to explain what our query is all about. Is that all the respect a customer deserves!? Is that how whirlpool trains their service people!? He doesnt even have the basic courtesy to listen to the customer, I wonder how was he even recruited as a customer care person. If you want at least your basic respect, please DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 cu.ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... Puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool Refrig. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going down hill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the refrig. up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers customer service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore. I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer. Besides, I had an older Whirlpool refrig. that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP. When I tried to upgrade the old refrig. - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

We purchased a Whirlpool Countertop Microwave (model MT4155) at HHGregg on 6/02/2012. (This was a replacement for another oven that failed after a couple of years - NOT a Whirlpool.) On 6/04/2013, i.e., 2 days past the standard 1 yr warranty expiration, the oven went nuts. I was cooking a plateful of baked potatoes on the auto setting. When the potatoes were done, I opened the door to take them out and the oven started to run! WITH the door open! When I shut the door, it stopped. So the only way to get the oven to operate was to OPEN the door. I dont think this is a safe or effective practice. Knowing it was two days past the warranty, I called customer service anyway just to see what they would say. To my surprise, they (I talked to two different people) were VERY pleasant and accommodating, and offered to cover the cost of repairs and even set up an appointment for the authorized repair person, and then called to verify the appt. as well. Great! I was impressed! The repairman showed up as scheduled and seemed puzzled at first, but he dismantled the outside cabinet and determined the fault was in the door switch. He wasnt sure he had a replacement with him, but he did find one, put the new part in the oven, and re-assembled everything. We made sure it worked and he then left. Fast forward 5.5 months, when again I was cooking potatoes (boiled this time. Maybe the oven doesnt like potatoes!). I had the timer set for 20 minutes on 100%. I was out of the room when it quit cooking, but I think it ran for about 6 minutes and then just shut off and could not be persuaded to restart. The clock continued to count down, and all the other bells and whistles still functioned - it just wouldnt cook. Major hassle. The following day, I was looking at it, messing around to see if I could figure out what was wrong, and discovered that if I pushed on the door latch just a little, the oven would run. Well, thats a nifty workaround, as long as you arent doing any more than briefly reheating something, but not so great if you are actually trying to cook something. I continued to do this for the next few days and then suddenly one night it reverted to the first bad behavior - only running when the door was open. I was able to get that to stop, but the following day, it refused to work at all and it is now sitting here uselessly, just a little over 1.5 years old. I want to go buy another oven (and YES - a different brand!) - my SO wants to repair this one, again. After reading the experiences of others on this site, I REALLY cant see the point in repairing esp not if I have to pay this time (which I probably will), and also when it seems to be a faulty part/design causing this problem. I dont have the time or patience to deal with an unreliable appliance, esp one that I use often. I have not tried to call customer service yet, but Im not expecting great things, not this time. Planned obsolescence? Sure makes me wonder.

Yes, Whirlpool makes Maytag, Im still paying for this junk. Too much to go into detail. I had to bypass the crummy fuse system in the Bravo dryer and hook up my own 15amp automotive fuse in the dryer to keep it working. This after two lame under-contract Maytag repairmen replaced the dreaded board, which did nothing. The washer goes cabunk, cabunk, cabunk throughout the house and shuts down with an unlevel code (no matter how level the load is) every time it does its load during the spin cycle. The dishwasher handle broke off and had to use a screwdriver to pry the handle latch open, until realized it doesnt even lock anyway and just pulled the door open. Now, the dishwasher has this noise problem which means they designed it to allow pieces of debris to escape past the trap like my other dishwasher had that was easy to remove and clean. Do not, I repeat, do not pay the $3,500+ I paid for this junk. Go buy a Kenmore thats 15 years old off of Craigslist! Youll be better off and it will last longer.

My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago.
My parents 89 and 76 years old bought a Whirlpool fridge a few months ago. A month after purchase fridge built up moisture terribly. Water was laying inside so much seeping on floor. We called, Whirlpool sent serviceman out. Serviceman number 1 put some kind of black tape in the door saying it was the seal. We were just disgusted over this and it didnt work. We called again, serviceman number 2 came out, said bad door, so he ordered door. Serviceman number 3 came out, replaced door. Moisture still in fridge, food isnt staying cool, and you can physically still see gap indoor. We called again. Serviceman number 4 came out and said fridge is not level due to floor in house. But nothing wrong with floor in house. This serviceman pushed on fridge said to my 89 year old dad and 76 year old mother and I quote, Put a piece of wood under this side of fridge. We will not replace this fridge. Now mind the fridge was delivered and set up by Lowes. So now this brand new fridge is no good and we have had no help whatsoever to fix this problem. So my parents whom have been married for 62 years with 5 grown children, 16 grandchildren, a 36 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild have promised none of us will ever look at another Whirlpool anything much less purchase a whirlpool appliance. Just for the simple fact of how a multi trillion dollar company will not stand behind their warranty nor name. We are disgusted with the whole situation. This is the worst experience any of us have ever had. So no I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone for the simply fact of the way my parents have been so disrespected by this company. Its horrible to know this kind of behavior is even allowed for employees to disrespect people. The Whirlpool fridge is warped, damaged from the time it was built. The warranty I hold in my hand says and I quote after 3 visits and problem not fixed fridge will be replaced.Well Whirlpool has been out 4 times and has refused to replace it. This couple has worked hard all of there lifes, lives on a fixed income and has just threw away money on a Whirlpool fridge they cant use. So now we have are in the process of hiring a lawyer. Its the principle of Good Vs Evil with Whirlpool. How whirlpool has refused to stand behind the Whirlpool warranty. So Like I said earlier I would never recommend buying any product that has anything to do with whirlpool. Shame on Whirlpool just shame on them.

We purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator at the end of July 2018. At the beginning of November 2019 all the interior lights went out at the same time. We called the store where it was purchased, and they instructed us to call Whirlpool. Because a year had passed, they were not willing to do anything other than put us in touch with someone who could service the refrigerator. We already know the repair will cost over $200. That does not include payment for the service call or the labor. At almost the same time we purchased a new Whirlpool microwave. We have also had problems with that. My advice is to stay away from Whirlpool products if you want something that will last longer than a year.

We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 6 years and 14 days. Note the 14 days. It has been nothing but trouble and we have called the company repeatedly for help. It finally stopped working altogether 14 days after the warranty ran out. Thank you Whirlpool for nothing! It had a filter on the bottom of the heater that constantly had to be cleaned which was next to impossible. We had to buy a special brush to try to reach it. My husband had to take it apart several times a year and clean it to keep it running. Whirlpool should have replaced it within the first year but instead offered many suggestions about cleaning and etc. so they would not have to replace. Today it is out of my house for good and I would advise anyone reading this to beware! Horrible product!!!

I bought a commercial coin operator washer (Whirlpool washer model CAE2743BQ) for $800 and after using it for 4 months the washer stop working. The main board panel lights turned all and the washer did not start. Called Whirlpool several times and nobody could help me and told me to look online for a distribution center to get parts. The customer service only knew about regular washers not coin operator. The washer had only 3 months warranty from Home Depot and I was supposed to pay for all the repairs and Whirlpool would pay for parts. So far I spend $400 in repairs and the certified technicians could not repair the washer. They replaced the actuator shift, the main board etc, etc and nothing. The technicians reset the washer at least 10 times, calling Whirlpool tech support and the washer worked for one load and the main board lights stayed on all over again, the start button did not work. I sent a letter to the warranty department that I got online and they told me to call the same 1800 that I had called at least 50 times in the past year. Now it has been more than one year and the machine is defective. Technician said could be the soap that my tenants are using, or overloading the washer or an electric problem that they cannot identify. I gave up... I will not buy a coin operator heavy duty washer from them again. I requested a return authorization for a defective product and I did not get anywhere. Thanks.

Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED issues with the washer during & after extended warranty, we decided to replace it in 2011. Im not a fan of mismatched sets, so we also replaced the the dryer. After researching the WP Cabrio, we assumed that model was a fluke and reluctantly replaced with the Whirlpool Duet Set. Nearing our warranty expiration, our new washer has stalled for the 3rd time. Sears customer service has been absolutely dreadful since day 1. Original delivery was scheduled incorrectly, so we ended up picking it up. We then spent the next 3 months trying to get our military discount credited back. They promised at time of purchase it would be credited automatically. After 2 hours wasted on the phone today, we are still without a working washer.. or even a date as to when it will be repaired. I was appalled at the condescending phone conversation I had with Sears rep. When service showed up last week, he knew immediately that 1 part was missing. He replaced the other 2 parts, and assured me hed rush the 3rd part and come back out today. Had I not called, we would be receiving a phone call on Friday to say our part was backordered and not available until June. After a long and frustrating conversation, I was told we could have a courtesy $25 max a week for laundry, with a max of $100 per year. I was also told that it wasnt Sears fault the part wasnt ordered when I called the 1st time, and so the 21 day wait period didnt start until the service man caught the mistake. If we hit 21 days from that date, they supposedly will do some sort of swap. I have confirmed with WP that the part is on back order, and frankly they didnt do anything either.. but the rep was much more apologetic. They couldnt do much because our warranty is through Sears and not them directly. My great niece is coming in 2 weeks for the 1st time since she was put on hospice, and I will be without a washer to clean her cloth diapers. She is on a very specific diet and has a feeding tube, so I will have to waste time hand washing clothes instead of savoring her visit. I will never shop at SEARS again. They have continued to go downhill with all the corporate changes. I left the corporate world a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that Sears doesnt take no or sorry from their vendors. Im very upset and intend to take this to another level, which I rarely do.

We have had this Whirlpool Duet WFW9150 washer for 7 years, doing 2-4 loads a week. Overall we are quite satisfied with it. A few complaints: We are on a well, and so get the odd bit of crud in the water. The machine has filters on the inlet lines, but you must pull it out from the wall to get at them. The filters are hard to remove. If something goes wrong--power blip, or sensor something, you have to restart the cycle. There is no way to continue from where you left off. There are features I wish it had: Rinse with warm or hot water, a spin only cycle, And Im in a hurry and it isnt very dirty cycle (Shortest cycle is almost 2 hours). Whirlpool doesnt have a service center for our area. If we need repair we need to take it into town. This is inconvenient.

This machine was my dream machine for about two years. Then the noise started during the spin cycle. It gradually got louder and louder, until it got so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. You could not be near the wash room and hear each other talk. Then it began to aggravate me with the UL flashing. I know how to load a washing machine. It was just a defect. Then it started making a grinding sound to add to the roaring spin noise. We were told that it would take over $500.00 to fix, so we just sat back and waited for it to die. Well, the other day it began to leak some water out of the bottom of the machine. Now today we are paying our last respects to a piece of junk that Whirlpool calls a washing machine! It is less than 5 years old. This was a $900.00 washer. There should be a recall. The technician said he has seen this problem several times in such ovens and was able to repair the oven. I called Whirlpool and they had not heard of this being a common problem. Last week, the air blower wasnt functioning and had to be replaced. I called Whirlpool again and told them about this second incident in a 4 year old oven that is not used frequently. I told them their quality assurance people and/or engineers need to re-evaluate their products. My lesson learned is that I will never purchase another Whirlpool or Whirlpool related product.

I purchased a Whirlpool WTW6600SW in January 2010. I dont normally purchase an extended warranty, but it was a fairly expensive washer. So I did. In July 2011, water starts gushing all over the floor. After my first visit to see what is wrong, I ordered a part. I was out of a washer for 2 weeks. Then in August 2012 the same thing happened. This time the repairman didnt get the part on properly, so they had to come back a third time. I am out of a washer for about 3 weeks. Now, October 2012, it is doing the same thing again! Customer service tells me it has to be repaired for the same problem four times in the same 12 months in order to receive any replacement value. It will have to break two more times! This washer is a piece of junk!
