Extremely quiet machine. I love that the silverware wrack is situated across the front of the door giving plenty of space for lots of silverware. This leaves even more room in the already large washing area for pots, pans, dishes, bowl, glassware & more.

Contacted this am. See through top glass lid is separating from plastic causing sensor to turn washing machine off. Looked complaints up on this machine and it is a common occurrence and is a defect. The machine is a little over 2 or 3 years old and out of warranty. Was told not a common occurrence and I would be responsible for repair. Model # wtw7800xw2. Serial # c12270139. Thank you.

We purchased our oven on 12/06/15. I have called and complained about the AquaLift oven on more than one occasion. This technology does not work. I would have thought that there would have FINALLY been a recall on this oven. I am a senior who thought this stove would last me for the rest of my life. I have to stand on my head to try to clean it. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER would I have purchased this if I had read any of the reviews. Buyer beware!!!

Whirlpool N50T61-403 - I bought this thing today 8.21.14 from Lowes. It is a Whirlpool 50-Gal water heater (6th sense) and was going to have it installed by their installer, but elected after seeing it was very similar to lining up with my old unit. I got it in and then filled it. After filling, I lit the pilot light per the instructions then turned the knob for heating it up. Success, the flame spread across the burners...then went out. The steady blink changed to the 2 blink code indicating a bad thermopile. It did not work - right out of the box. No plumber near me carries the part. Whirlpool has thus been pretty good about it offering to have someone come out at their cost... But if no one has the parts, that is no good. I am moving from this house so if we can get it to work, its the problem for the next owner. If not - Ill have to get an RMA and go back to Lowes... Then try the Rheem from Home Depot. Will see if they will overnight a part tomorrow. I found the other reviews - and I dont like it that this thing appears to have difficulty right out of the box.

The machine has an infinite water level setting, an agitator which I feel cleans clothes better, separate settings for water temperature for both wash and rinse cycles, and the ability to soak prior to washing by just leaving the lid up. You can add bleach and fabric softener to dispensers that will add to the tub at the time needed. My machine has been a really good one.

I have had a lot of washing machines in my life and trusted that Whirlpool would have good products. Well, with this top-loader, I couldnt be more wrong! I have never had a machine that just sloshes clothes around - at best - leaving them just as dirty! Our water bill has greatly increased on top of that - I AM SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! Unfortunately I cant return the bad merchandise since I bought at a Scratch and Dent store (just a dent on the outside does not interfere with performance...).

Misinformation provided about their products - I ordered the Whirlpool 30 Drop-In Electric Range pictured in their literature with a gray oven door. When I had it installed, I thought it had a green film covering the oven door. It is not a film. It is the oven door color. It does not show that or talk about it in any of the literature. I would not have bought or paid to have this range installed. The green color does not go in my kitchen! I would sue them for misinformation if I had the money to spare! I will never buy another Whirlpool item.

My wife and I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 1 year and 4 months ago. Its just three of us in the house. We never overload the washer. Now the drum bearings in the washer have gone bad. I feel that a washer should last longer than 1 year and 4 months. I signed up for the Whirlpool Repair Plus 1 Service Plan which is supposed to cover repair plus 1 year additional warranty. I was told that it would cost more than $1000 to repair so they would only return service plan cost. Whirlpool used to have a dependable product and dependable service. I dont think I will be buying another Whirlpool.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER (Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher)!!! We bought a camp with this dishwasher in it brand new. It has been serviced three times in the past year because the dishes (especially utensils) do not dry. The service company first said it was because I needed to use jet dry. What a joke! I told them I was using jet dry so they sent a service man out. He had to read a manual in order to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He then decided the entire motherboard needed replacing and he would order the part. He came back, replaced the part and it still did not fix the problem.I called again to complain so they sent another service man out and he said the drying air vent may not be working. They came back out to replace it weeks later because the part was on back order. Wonder Why??? I still have to dry the utensils every time I run the dishwasher. The interior walls of the dishwasher are wet even after running through the drying cycle. Either this dishwasher is a lemon or Whirlpool is selling a dishwasher that does not dry to the consumers!!! So BEWARE!!!

WHIRLPOOL MICROWAVE HAS HAD MAGNETRON GO BAD 3 TIMES IN 1-1/2 YRS! I bought a Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combo Oct 2009. July 2010 the magnetron went in it! December 2010 the magnetron went in it AGAIN! This time we had to pay the labor to have it repaired because it was 2 months outside the warranty period. We did not want to pay because we knew having the same part go twice in one year that something is wrong with it. Whirlpool told us that if it happened a 3rd time that they would most likely replace the appliance for us. Well....July 2011 the magnetron went AGAIN for the 3rd time! Whirlpool told us to take it to a licensed shop to have it diagnosed to prove that it was the same part as the previous two times, fax paperwork from the prior two times, and have the shop call in the diagnosis of the 3rd time. We did all that, and they told us they wouldnt do ANYTHING for us because it was outside of the warranty period! Well they knew that when they told us we had an opportunity to get it replaced! THE SAME PART WENT BAD 3 TIMES IN A 1-1/2 YR PERIOD OF TIME. We trusted that the Whirlpool representatives were being honest with us during those phone conversations. Whirlpool can not explain why representatives would give us hope of a replacement (although each conversation is documented by their login and employee ID number). So not only did I buy a brand new MSRP $619 microwave, I paid to have it repaired the 2nd time, and to have it diagnosed the 3rd time, uninstalled and reinstalled the microwave each time, the inconvenience of not having use of the appliance during each occurance, and the unbearable suffering of calling in to customer service and repeating the story over and over to each representative. My house is brand new (we moved in to it November 2009); we bought ALL our appliances from Whirlpool. All I get for an answer now is sorry. That doesnt help me any financially having to repair and now replace an appliance that has been in use for only 1-1/2 yrs! I have seen $39 microwaves from WalMart last several years, so what is wrong with Whirlpools manufacturing?! Customer Service is unreliable, untrustworthy, non-sympathetic, and insanely frustrating! My question for Whirlpool is...why cant you make a product that lasts better (better quality=longer life=healthier environment and happier customers)? Why cant you stand behind your products better? Dont you care about the impact youre making on us emotionally, financially, and environmentally? The model # is GMH6185XVS0 Serial # is TRY3111264.

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

Our $2000+ Whirlpool Gold just had the control board fail. After calling Whirlpool, local services and all national parts suppliers we were told each time the part is on back order until June. If this is Whirlpools way of generating new fridge sales, it does not work. No Whirlpool, Kenmore, Frigidaire or KitchenAid, all made by the same company will ever enter my home. Worst purchase I have ever made. When I purchased this Cabrio washer in 2015, I didnt find bad reviews but how I wish I had. This washer does not clean clothes well. It has caused holes in clothing and towels. Often all the load wont even be damp even if using the deep water feature. The wash loads rarely fill more than couple of inches. Clothes come out twisted and terribly wrinkled. Sheets and blankets will be half dry and unclean. TERRIBLE APPLIANCE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Now I am stuck with a high priced washer I wouldnt even feel good about giving away. WONT FILL. RUINS CLOTHES. TANGLES LOADS. DOESNT CLEAN. DOESNT RINSE PROPERLY. DO NOT BUY!

Whirlpool Gold Bottom Mounted Freezer - I advised Whirlpool that the refrigerator has two design flaws... one that makes the drain freeze up and even more importantly what is involved in correcting the problem. They replied that they were unaware of the issue when its all over the internet and has been for well over a year... maybe more. On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak
On 1/24/12, I replaced a 15 year old water heater that had started to leak after years of faithful service. The new Whirlpool unit heated water to a tepid level only, and that was obtainable only after running several faucets at a time, full bore. I used the product manual to trouble-shoot and was unable to find the problem, so I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that I would need to have a plumber come and and inspect the plumbing before a technician could be sent to check the water heater. I was not very happy about that, but complied. The next day, a plumber inspected the lines and fittings, tested the pressure and agreed that the problem was likely a faulty water heater. That cost me $95.00. I called Whirlpool again. This time, I was told that I should have had the plumber call Whirlpool while he was still at my home! The customer service representative agreed to authorize a service call, and I was given the phone numbers of three companies to choose from. Apparently, I chose wrong. The plumber seemed experienced and was very friendly. He was at our home for about 40 minutes, made a cursory inspection and said the problem did indeed seem to be with the unit, and he would return to his office to contact Whirlpool and arrange for a replacement unit and he would call back. Tellingly, I realize in retrospect, he did not give me a receipt. After several hours, I called the company and was told Whirlpool had not yet called them, and if I did not hear from them soon, I should call Whirlpool myself. This seemed reasonable to me, and I did so, at which point I realized I had been lied to from the start. The Whirlpool representative said that the service technician stated that he had run an isolation test, obtained hot water from the water heater, advised the homeowner (me) that the problem was in the plumbing, and I possibly had crossed lines. She also told me that the technician had said that he had difficulty making the homeowner understand what he was trying to explain. A complete and utter falsehood. I asked her how an isolation test was carried out, and that I would call the plumber to see what was going on, as this was not what we had been told. I was livid and called the plumbing company back just in case there was some honest mistake. Of course, there wasnt. I would like Whirlpool to be made aware that the company that they contract with is disreputable and has a history of deceitful practices. I found many negative reviews, and in fact the sort of treatment I received seems to be their modus operandi, no receipt, never a call back, assure the customer their problem will be covered under warranty, misrepresent the the service performed. The reason I add this last statement is that at no time was the new water heater disconnected, drained, refilled and allowed to return to operating temperature; the so-called isolation test a process which Whirlpool told me takes about two hours. This test did not take place. I previously stated that the technician was only at our home for forty minutes. There was no test of water temperature. I have since replaced my water heater with another brand--it works fine and there were no plumbing problems! I thought the name Whirlpool meant something. I have owned quite a few Whirlpool appliances over the years, in fact my new washing machine is Whirlpool. But I am definitely disinclined to purchase this brand again. I am so disappointed with the service I received from Whirlpool, a huge waste of time and money, and I am out $95.00 for nothing. I think Whirlpool should reimburse me for this, as the original (honest) plumber was correct. My water heater was defective and should have been replaced at that time. If it had been, you would probably still have a customer.

I purchased a Whirlpool 3 years ago. It was on the lower end for price so my expectations were not that high. It does an average job cleaning dishes so for the price I could give it 4/5. I am somewhat satisfied with my induction range. We ordered it just before Thanksgiving from Lowe’s a year and a half ago. We were told that we would have it before Christmas, which was fine with me. I don’t cook for Thanksgiving. Just a lot of Christmas baking. It turned out that Whirlpool had not started making our range until January and it wasn’t delivered until mid-January. It had been really good until about a month ago, when it blew the circuit breaker. My husband was cooking dinner while I was at work and it just blew the circuit breaker. No power surge in the rest of the house. No other circuit breakers affected. When the power was turned back on, two burners were out. As it turns out, the main circuit board is dead. So now the one large burner, a small burner and the ovens don’t work. There are two circuit boards for each oven. When it is working, it is a great stove. However when it doesn’t work, it is costly and takes a while to get repaired.

I wish I had gone on this website and read the reviews before I bought my washer about two years ago. I thought the Whirlpool Cabrio was going to be a good machine because of the brand name and because it is one of the more expensive washers. Like many others have said, I am disappointed with this washer. I bought it because it has a large capacity, but mostly because it has a hand wash cycle and a deep water soak. I have found that the only cycle that actually may get clothes clean is the Bulky Items cycle, because it actually covers the clothes in water. Some of the other cycles dont even get the clothes entirely wet. And the deep water soak doesnt wash the clothes, rinse them, or spin them dry. I might as well pre-soak clothing in my laundry tub, and then put them in the machine to wash them. Prior to this machine, I had a Maytag Neptune front loader, which did alright, but it had a few problems. I am ready to go back to the inexpensive agitator machine my mother used to have, if anyone still makes them. They at least got the clothes clean, and you could soak clothing if you wanted to. Im sorry that I bought this expensive washer. I wish I had bought a relatively inexpensive, simple machine. One good thing about this machine though is that I was able to wash a sleeping bag on the Bulky Items cycle. So, I didnt have to take the sleeping bag to the laundromat. Whirlpool needs to improve this machine or go back to the drawing board and create a new one.

Whirlpool washing machine model WCW4950XW2 - We have a barely two year washing machine that we purchased at Best Buy and it no longer drains or spins. After $100 repair call we were told that this is a common problem with this model. It is a transmission problem, and with the way the machine is built a repair person cannot get into the transmission to fix it. He suggested we buy a new washing machine. This is a travesty on so many levels! If whirlpool know it has a problem it should offer a partial refund for the purchase of a newer better machine. I keep thinking about what our landfill in this world look like with the proliferation of appliances that are engineered to last a year or two. I can guarantee you I will never purchase any Whirlpool produce again, and I will research whether other brands are associated with the whirlpool brand before I buy it. Sad that a once good company has gone to hell.

Large capacity is a must - energy efficient is also a must. Discounts are nice to get but if not available I will go with a name brand. I want a washer with an agitator not one of the new ones that dont have one. Reliability is the most important factor so repairs are not needed. I bought a Whirlpool washing machine, model WTW4855HW, and was I ever shocked at how noisy it was. The wash cycle had a grinding noise that was just too much. After 2 loads I sent it back and didnt regret having to pay the restocking fee. I just couldnt believe that with all the technology we have today, that they couldnt build a quiet machine. Im an engineer so I know there are methods through gearing, belts, soundproofing, etc, to produce a quiet machine. Remember the dishwasher of days gone by. You couldnt watch TV with the dishwasher going. Nowadays, you can stand in the kitchen and have a nice conversation with it running. The technology exists. As a matter of a fact, my old Maytag that finally went bad after 10 years was fairly quiet. Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

Obviously a washer will not work without being in the locked position, so we have to put several heavy things on top of it just to run a load of laundry. This is not what we expect out of a washer that we paid $900 for only two years ago!!!! We contacted Whirlpool and they offered to fix it for $350. REALLY??? I SHOULD NOT have to pour money into a washer this expensive after two years!!!! I am so disappointed in Whirlpool, this was the entire reason we purchased Whirlpool products, to avoid stress of broken appliances. We wanted reliability for our busy family and instead we bought into more stress.

I have been having a problem when washing my jeans in the Whirlpool Cabrio
I have been having a problem when washing my jeans in the Whirlpool Cabrio that I have never had before with my old washer. When I wash my jeans, there are always a few pair, never the same ones, that have an odor like dirty dishrags on them. I always hang my jeans to dry so I do not think it is this. I have tried to add a freshener to the wash cycle, it does not work. I have tried to dry them in the dryer with a scented dryer sheet, it does not work. I am assuming after reading these past complaints from other consumers that it is not getting all of the clothes clean because of the lack of water. I always use the deep water cycle, but maybe it is not enough water as previously suggested. I have had an issue with blankets and other heavy items not getting clean and/or not even wet. Thoroughly disgusted with this appliance!! I love all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances though!

I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

Purchased the new dishwasher in 2009 through the builder of our home. I quit working completely like there was no power to it. We replaced the fuse to it and then it worked, but kept pausing during the cycle. Sometimes it will completely go off and then when the control panel comes back on, it sits paused until you push the button. We replaced the computer with a new one and it works even worse. It shuts down more often and still requires a restart. So frustrating! Appliances should last longer than a couple of years.

I bought a Whirlpool Partner II 5 and a half years ago. It was always noisy and took very long to run a cycle. It started to malfunction after 2 years. We bought a new computer for it and a new control panel for the touch keys. It still kept not running a cycle fully. We found a YOUTUBE video that showed how to reset the model by pressing a combination of Normal and Heated Dry and that seemed to fix it for 2 years. It has stopped working again. Now it seems that the heating element is out. It doesnt clean at all, a scum film has covered the inside of the dishwasher and even mold spots are appearing. Ive had to wait extremely long times on hold to talk with an agent. My option is to hire a repair tech to come out and repair it and I pay for the parts. Seems like a bad deal since Ive already spent over a hundred on repairing it and a lot of hours. I will never buy a Whirlpool brand appliance again.

My new Tridel Condo came with a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer and the washer has not been working well since the beginning. After several service calls the repairman finally gave up and now were getting a new replacement. However its been a nightmare working with them trying to get this washer replaced. The Whirlpool delivery team and the service team cant seem to coordinate a time together for the replacement. We had to make a first appointment for the service guy to uninstall the old unit, the second appt for the delivery guy to drop off the new unit and pick up the old and a 3rd appt to install the new unit. Each appt has a 4 hour wait window. This is their standard procedure, which is totally inconvenient to customers. To make matter worse, the delivery guy came too early for a condo delivery (before 9 AM) and told us he will be back the next day. And he didnt show up. It looks like now we actually have to have 5 appts (including the 2 missed appts by their delivery guy) to have the washer replaced. All the time I wasted waiting for this delivery is worth more than the washer itself. What would be 4 hours X 5 appts = 20 hours. This is the worst customer experience ever. After 3 months of constantly calling Whirlpool and still no washer. Whirlpool needs to hire some competent people who actually care about servicing their customers.

This washer has been a lemon since the day we bought it. Always leaves marks all over dark clothes. Had to have a part replaced before we owned it a year & repairman from the company said they have to replace that same part every time they go out so they carry them on the truck. Latch broke after owning it for less than 2 years & now it no longer spins water out of clothes. All this & we havent even owned it 3 years. I had a GE washer for years when I first got married & had children. Never had problems like this. Paid it off on Monday & on Friday it became a piece of junk. How is Whirlpool getting away with this misrepresentation? I dont even see how they can call it a washer.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6500WW1) on 9/11/09 for approximately $800. Now three years later, it needs a new rotor and stator costing $470 in parts and labor. I called Whirlpool and was told I could get no help with the cost of parts because of the age of the machine! A simple Google search of the F51 error code that I am getting will show you that these machines are $800 pieces of junk! I am not repairing this machine. I am going to run it until it dies and simply buy a new washer. You can bet your sweet self it will not be a Whirlpool! I can only hope to inform enough buyers about this to keep them from the same fate.

Whirlpool double oven. The electronic control board has been replaced twice and needs to be replaced a third time after less than a year. The thermal fuses go each time I run the self clean. Whirlpools response has been disgraceful, trying to blame the problem on faulty installation when thousands of people have had the same problem. Ignore ANY US companys product; their warranties are worthless and they repair, not replace. My next oven will be European because in Europe they have to automatically warranty for five years any consumer durable. Consumer Reports ratings are worthless since they dont include breakdown experience in the ratings. Never buy anything from Whirlpool. They sell rubbish and dont honor their own warranty. Check the BBB rating. My brand new double oven broke down the first time that I ran the self clean cycle. Whirlpools response was to claim that the cutout opening was 1/8 inch too narrow and therefore they would not honor the five year warranty that I had bought from them. This was a lie, as I verified the width and it was exactly that required. Others have had the same experience. Whirlpool also makes Maytag, Kitchenaid, Kenmore and Ikea.

I had an addition added to my home in 9/2007, which included a new bathroom. A whirlpool hot water tank was added. This week, I woke up to no hot water, so I called the whirlpool customer number regarding the warranty on the model FG1F4034T3NOV. T hey told me the serial number shows its out of warranty, although I may have only had it since 2007. They also said there was a screen that needed to be clean under the bottom of, it that if not clean, would make it stop working. Since homeowners where not cleaning it, they have made a replacement door part that would fix it, and do away with the problem, but I would have to pay $35 for it. I asked them, since the serial number shows that the part has not been replaced on this unit, why not just send it to me, and I pay to have it put on. The person said no, you will have to pay for it if I wanted the part to fix it . Although my builder did not give me the receipt for it, thats just not right. If a manufacturer knows they are having problems with their product, which require a part replacement, and they have produced one, they should be willing to give the part to everyone with the product that request it. On top of that, this model has the left hand threaded thermocouple, which no one around seems to carry. I am totally disappointed with Whirlpool, and right now would not consider buying, or have any more of their products installed into my home.

What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.

We bought a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher around 2 years ago. Within 13 months it stopped drying dishes, silverware etc. I called customer service told the person what’s going on. Of course the warranty was up, a month prior. She said she would send a service technician out to see why it wasn’t drying. They charge 75$ a hour plus a service fee for coming out. I told her no. She said she would drop the service fee since it was only 13 months old. I asked how long he would be here, she had no idea. I didn’t make the appointment because I felt I shouldn’t have to pay anything because it was only 13 months old.She didn’t agree. Since then it has gotten worse, it doesn’t dry anything, maybe the dishes. I have to put the silverware rack on a towel by and dry the silverware or put it away wet. I’ve bought jet dry a few different ones and no luck. I would not recommend anything from Whirlpool, especially a dishwasher. We have new wood cabinets. The cabinets will get soaked if I don’t put paper towels under them. This is the worst dishwasher I ever owned. Don’t waste your money!!

My 2-year-old Whirlpool Gold Series model replaces a 20-year-old Roper. So far it has exceeded expectations for low noise and useful features like validated Sani-Rinse. Has all the normal features plus Eco-Dry, Sani-Rinse, delayed start, five levels/cycles of cleaning, and hi-Temp wash. Fits where the old Roper used to be and handles a full load of dishes with room to spare except Thanksgiving, which takes two loads. Smooth black front with touch buttons and blue lights. Looks nice. Using Sani-Rinse seems to take a long time, generally around 3-hours for a full wash cycle. Besides being ultra-quiet, the unit is very energy efficient earning good Energy Efficiency and water efficiency ratings.

Purchased a Whirlpool WTW7800XW a year and a half ago. The left top of the washers glass pops up, making it impossible to use the washer unless I weigh it down. Apparently a screw has popped out to hold the glass in place. Whirlpool used to make a decent product, but thought I should pay them $129 for their time, just to come out and then an additional part fee. How about the 30 minutes I spent on the phone with no satisfaction. My time is also valuable. I gave them the choice to come out and replace the screw (which shouldnt have fallen out in the first place) or lose a customer. I was under the impression Whirlpool washers were good. Mine always goes off balance and quits. I carefully redistribute the load several times to get it to finish (start over). Sometimes it works fine from the get-go, but not often enough. It is now 2 years old and if I were wealthy, Id shove it to the curb. There is little to like with an appliance that often must be adjusted and re-started. I will try Samsung next. It seems that American brands are not reliable. I have no special needs and will consider reliability above all. The name Whirlpool would be a deal breaker for me. I cannot abide my Whirlpool washing machine as it is more of an aggravation than something useful. Stay away from Whirlpool washing machines. We have a Whirlpool Gold fridge that was manufactured in 2009. MOD: GS2KVAXS01. SER: HRY0570897 and it has not been cooling properly for the last few weeks. Some days it is fine, the next day not and we have had to throw our a lot of rotting food. We got the fridge checked out and were told the Electronic Control Box for the fridge was not working. My question is, why would a Whirlpool Gold fridge that costs $1800 or so have such a large issue with 3 years? Its practically a brand new fridge and Im outraged that a large part of the fridge is not working. I understand parts break and there is warranty but its pretty bad that after the warranty expires the control box would become defective. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer and solely buy the brand and this break upsets me very much. Especially since replacing the part will cost me $400 plus labor, we are talking about a part costing 30% of the total fridge cost! That is ridiculous. I am hoping there is something you can do to rectify this, as a fridge manufactured by what I thought was a great company should not cause such an issue and I would like to continue to buy Whirlpool products but not if this is the case.We have called Whirlpool customer service many times to be ignored, berated, told I cannot speak to a supervisor and nothing will be done. Never in my entire life have I ever known a company so horrible to exist. I have had bad service before but this takes the cake. Plus, no company that I have ever dealt with would ignore you and not provide any discount or remedy. I cant believe this is a big brand with the way they carry on. You would assume they would be some one person owned company who doesn’t have a penny to spare. I don’t respect this company at all and expect a resolution because they are truly insulting in all the channels.

I contacted Whirlpool, they said it is normal. It is not normal. I have a twenty-year-old refrigerator far quieter than this brand new, $2600 noisemaker that keeps things cold.

I purchased a new French door refrigerator in May of 2016. Professionally installed. Last May 2017 icemaker stopped working and was replaced. June 2018 icemaker stopped working. This part of the refrigerator is poor quality and because of that I will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance. They use to be good quality and dependable. Not anymore.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave in 2005, model number MIX155XHPT-1 and serial number TR S 30 32419. At first the top vent broke then the opening side broke off. Then the whole side of the closing door broke off. Now the whole door wants to fall off. I would have never expected this from Whirlpool, but it happened.

I purchased this microwave in September 2010. It was installed in a vacation home, so it has actually been used for less than one year. It has now stopped heating food for the fourth time. The previous problems miraculously fixed themselves after flipping the fuse for a few minutes. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I figured maybe I had overheated something. But this time, the problem has not corrected itself. The Whirlpool representative that I spoke to, while very polite and personable, only scheduled a service call that will cost me $89.95 PLUS parts and labor. I asked her if other people had reported this same problem, since it had happened to me several times. She told me NO. I decided to do some research myself (yes, I know; I should have done this BEFORE I spent $578 on a worthless product) and found that many others have had the same problem, and that this is obviously a defect in the design of this unit. Unfortunately, I purchased the entire Whirlpool package because of a special rebate available at the time. Now, I am wondering if my other appliances will begin to break down in the near future. After reading about the experiences of others, I am calling to cancel the service visit. I will be removing the microwave from my kitchen and purchasing a new one. Whirlpool has lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again.

I have a kitchen collection of Whirlpool products, not even 2 1/2 years old. I have had nothing but issues. Microwave was completely rebuilt within few months, refrigerator and freezer multiple issues. Latest is the freezer stopped working, now my good is ruined!!! Wont always make ice in the icemaker. Already had to replace freezer door because it was warped and the seal didnt work and now my dishwasher isnt working!!! **!!! I waited 20 years for a new kitchen, finally got one and did extensive research thinking I was safe with whirlpool. I was wrong. So now what, what happens when the warranty runs out, Im screwed. Shame on you whirlpool for putting out crappy products and doing NOTHING to try and fix this!!

The main control panel on my Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine broke twice in the second year of ownership. I bought this in 2006. The part was replaced in March 2007 and then again in October 2007. Now, it is broken again and Whirlpool says too bad, they will not replace it again and will cost us $275 to fix it. People have posted about this problem all over the internet. How can they not help their customers and recall this washer part?

I purchased a GW399LXUS Whirlpool Gas Range. This is the slide in kind. I paid 1658.00 dollars for this stove, because it was a gas convection oven. We purchased it on 7/21/09. Just yesterday, the keypad numbers stopped working. I cannot even set a temperature for the oven. So now, I can only use the burners. I called Whirlpool today. They told me that my stove does not have any recalls so there is nothing they can do about it. I spoke with Jessica in Michigan. I told her how dissatisfied I was that the stove is only 2 years old and the most important part (the buttons) stopped working and they only cover this for one year. She told me that I have to remember that man made things are made to stop working at some time. I told her they should work for longer than 2 years. I remember way back when my parents bought a stove or fridge and they lasted for 15 to 20 years before breaking or stopping to work.I am a long time Whirlpool customer and always had good luck with their products. But I really feel that they should fix this problem. I could understand if the stove was 8 or 10 years old and something broke after using it, but not after 2 years. I will definitely tell everyone I know to not buy Whirlpool or Maytag since they are one in the same. I probably will not buy Whirlpool again and will have to buy something from Japan since it will last longer. So much for buying American made junk!

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer in Jan. 2011 and there has been 3 problems. There has been water leaking, loud/banging noises during the spin cycle, and torn clothing. Technicians have visited 4 times in 7 months. At this point, I forsee more problems in the future. I spoke to a supervisor at Whirlpool and I asked if the washer could be exchanged. I was told, If it is repairable then we will continue to repair it. I was also told that I could purchase an additional 1 or 2 year warranty. A comment like that makes me believe that the company foresees problems in the future as well. A company like Whirlpool should realize that customers should not have to spend time leaving work early or taking off to meet with a technician about an appliance so often or at all! I have owned a washer in the past but it was left when we sold the home and I never experienced any problems!

I purchased this machine in April 2011. Adequate performance until this past fall. It did not drain properly and began to smell, then stopped working. I called a local certified repairman who discovered an item of clothing trapped beneath the basket blocking the drain pump. $109.00. Less than 2 months later it happened again. The repairman returned and again found a blocked drive shaft under the basket. $109.00. When it happened a third time I called the Whirlpool repair line. A serviceman was sent out and immediately knew what the problem was (prior experience). He removed the basket and once again there was an article of clothing under the basket, blocking the drain pump - $129.00. At this moment it is beginning to smell again. I spent 40 minutes on the phone this morning with Sears and Whirlpool. No help whatsoever. This machine is not even 3 years old. I never overload it and clean it regularly. I bought the washer and dryer as a set because they are quite visible in my home. I have had Whirlpool products for over 40 years and never had a problem. I need someone to stand behind this machine.

We purchased an energy efficient Whirlpool water heater on 10-20-2005. This water heater has been serviced at least if not more than three times. The computer box on the top has been replaced twice each time leaving my garage flooded. This time the water is running from the thermostat box again the garage is flooded. I called for service and the representative was very nice and understanding. He gave us the information to pick up a replacement heater. The complaint is the mess that it made. I have already filed a previous claim with my homeowners insurance for the damage. I would like to know why I have to file repeated claims with the risk of losing my homeowners insurance because of the repeated damage caused by Whirlpools obvious defective water heater? I would appreciate some resolution from Whirlpool for the damage this water heater has caused. The replacement heater is fine but I would ask that the to company consider some compensation of the water damage this heater has caused again.

A few weeks ago, I noticed flames in the microwave and realized it wasnt my food but the microwave itself was on fire. Im glad I was close by to immediately turn it off. We got a DEAL for this nightmare for nearly $700 back in 2014. Nothing but problems. Constantly finding plastic pieces at the bottom... some identifiable; others not. They are from the cheap parts within. The control board lights (all but 1 works) went just after the 1 yr mark. We are now having to replace the top Rack Adjuster (MORE CHEAP PLASTIC), as it has been barely hanging on for the last year and a half... constantly fighting it, as it would drop all the dishes if you moved it wrong. Now, the water is not draining at all... period. We clean this religiously - always rinse dishes completely, use rinse aid, never stuff dishes. Today we find a random plastic piece, which we are now trying to identify. NOTE: we dont put plastics in the dishwasher. So, today a new plastic piece and major drain problems. We are in the market and purchasing a new French Door Refrigerator and Front Load Washer. Will NOT be going with anything Whirlpool. Not much better these days, but this name has a big RED NO for us. Made it even worse when we contacted for help after that 1 yr mark. NO HELP AT ALL.

I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built hom
I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built home just 6 months ago, to include a side by side refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, an over the stove microwave, a smooth cooktop oven/range, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a clothes dryer. We plugged in the new refrigerator, and after 24 hours of letting it sit and get cold, we bought $300.+ of groceries and filled our new refrigerator. We pulled the milk out hours later and it was warm, checked other food items and found them to be warm, too. I placed a thermometer in the refrigerator and it read 55 degrees. In disbelief, I placed a second thermometer in the refrigerator and it, too, read 55 degrees. Being brand new, only hours old, and clearly not working, I called for a replacement refrigerator. Our builder said we needed to call Whirlpool for a replacement. Whirlpool refused to send us a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we had to throw out all of our food for being dangerously off temperature, and we were less than happy about wasting $300.+ on food we could not safely eat, but glad we didnt have food poisoning. Not even the freezer could maintain a temperature below 55 degrees. While waiting on a repairman, we noticed that we were not hearing the refrigerators motor come on more than once every several hours. They sent a repairman out three days later, and he found nothing wrong other than a poorly fitting door, he said. He replaced the door hinge and told us our refrigerator would be cold in 3 - 5 hours. Well, it never did get below 55 degrees, set on the coldest setting. Whirlpool was called again and they couldnt seem to get another repairman out to fix my brand new refrigerator that could not perform its most basic function, which is to maintain food at proper temperature. Again, Whirlpool refused to send me a replacement refrigerator for this clearly defective refrigerator we were stuck with. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks before another repairman could come out, and then he would have to order parts after he diagnosed the refrigerator problem, taking another two weeks. We needed a refrigerator, like most people do, so we were forced to take this brand new refrigerator and stick it in the garage, not being able to sell a brand new refrigerator that wont get cold. Angry at Whirlpool for taking our money and leaving us with a refrigerator that never worked, we bought a Samsung refrigerator that we are very happy with - it works! After 2 months, our Whirlpool above the stove microwave has the motor turn on when we close the door, and it takes several opening and closing sequences to get it to shut off. We will be replacing this new microwave when we can afford to.Our ceramic/smooth top stove/oven, takes a very long time (at least 20 minutes) to preheat and the temperature in the oven is not accurate to the set temperature, according to my oven thermometer. The cooktop surface is inferior; it gets permanent water spots and it scratches very easily even though we use the correct pans and are very careful with it, and does not come clean easily. The surface feels rough, not slick like the GE Profile ceramic/smooth cooktop range that I had for 14 trouble-free years. I am using the same exact pans that I used with our GE, and we know how to be gentle with a smooth cooktop surface. After 14 years of owning the GE stove, the GE felt slick and smooth, cleaned easily, and did not have one single scratch on it. It looked as good as new when we moved, after 14 years of use. I will be replacing this inferior Whirlpool smooth cooktop range as soon as I can afford to, as well. Last month, right before Thanksgiving, our new Whirlpool dishwasher started making a really loud motor sound and quit working that day. It would fill water, drain the water and shut off. I once again called Whirlpool, and they were maddenly unhelpful. This time, they told me they would have a repairman call me in 5 working days to schedule an appointment to come and see my non working dishwasher. After 7 days, I called Whirlpool AGAIN, to ask why someone did not call me for an appointment. I was expecting a house full of people for Thanksgiving and I had no working dishwasher. I spent a lot of money buying these crappy Whirlpool appliances and am very frustrated. This time, Whirlpool told me that they could not find a service person in my area to service the unit. As if I live out in the middle of know-where?! I live 20 minutes from Austin, the state capitol of Texas! A 20 minute drive from the capitol building to my door! Whirlpool told me I could take my 5 month old, broken dishwasher to a repair shop and that the repair shop would need to call Whirlpool before they did any work, and that Whirlpool would only authorize a maximum of $150 to repair my dishwasher. They actually had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for the repair, and they would mail me a gift card in 6 - 8 weeks to reimburse me up to $150 on my new, broken dishwasher that is under warranty. I was furious!! Some warranty! The broken dishwasher is now sitting next to the broken refrigerator in my garage. I needed a dishwasher before Thanksgiving dinner, so I went and bought a Samsung.I realize that all makers can have a lemon, but all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances are junk!! I will never own another Whirlpool product for as long as I live, and I will tell anyone who will listen about our abominable experience with Whirlpools customer service and the expensive, crappy appliances we unfortunately wasted a lot of our money on. Do yourself a huge favor, buy anything but Whirlpool! Thankfully, everything else about our new home has been great. Our new Whirlpool appliances will remain a very sore subject for year to come, I suspect.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater in August of 2008. The unit had a 12-year warranty on the tank. On January 21, 2012, I discovered that the water heater sprung a leak somewhere in the tank shell; it’s not the pressure relief valve, thermostat or anode port. The tank was never abused and operated well within its design limits. Not sure what caused it to start leaking into the catch pan and out onto my laundry room floor.I purchased the tank at Lowes and went for the longest tank warranty to reduce replacement intervals. I sent Whirlpool an email on 1/22/2012 explaining my problem and I referenced this site. The next day 1/23/2012 I receive a call from Whirlpool (Chris) asking me about my problem. I explained again and they gave me an RMA number and told me to go to Lowe’s and they would replace my hot water heater. I went straight to Lowe’s customer service and within an hour I was on my way home with a brand new hot water heater. Thank you, Chris, Whirlpool and Lowe’s. I am very happy with my outcome on this issue.

Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

The control panel was 250.00. Then I replaced the spark module and it is now working. Some models the spark module dont control oven and broiler but mine does. That was 200.00. Like many other reviews Ive read here this morning, I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio HE Top loading washer before I did my homework. I purchased approximately 2 years ago. While I dont seem to have the volume of complaints Ive read from others, I do have many intermittent complaints. As others have described, from day one I have gone from this uneasy feeling about how it is working to down right POd about the condition of my clothes after a load finishes.List of issues you will avoid by buying a different product: 1. Water levels SO low your clothes dont get clean. Yes Whirlpool, thank you for trying to save me $$ by lowering my water bill, but for goodness sake there should be enough water in the damn tub to cover the load. I literally watch dry clothing twist back and forth and NEVER go out (like they claim) to the edge of the tub and under then back up in the center. Instead they just sit there watching from the edge while the poor items of clothing in the center get twisted together.2. Powdered detergent, even if listed as HE will not dissolve in this low water level and will end up as white patches of film on your dark clothes. Suggestion to avoid this - dont use powdered detergent, but even if you use liquid HE detergent, you may still experience white patches of soap film on your clothes. It happens on all of them but shows up clearly on dark clothes. Setting the washer to always do a 2nd rinse cycle will improve the outcome. Not a perfect solution since the point of a low water washer is to use LESS water and not more by running a 2nd rinse on all your loads.3. No Consumer/User options to allow you to use the washer as you see fit. Since I paid a small fortune for this stupid washer and didnt realize that I would never again be able to dye fabric in my washer I am posting this as a warning to other crafty consumers. DONT BUY THIS WASHER if you ever want to dye fabric or an article of clothing larger than underwear. There is absolutely no setting on the washer cycles that will fill the tub with more than a few inches of water. The washer falsely has a mislabeled setting called Deep Water Soak. This is absolutely a LIE. Good thing I tested the cycle before putting my blanket in there to dye it. The cycle spins many times in the beginning pouring water into the clothes, then empties the tub and does it again. Then after 10 minutes into the cycle it begins to fill (if you want to call it that) the tub. After putting about 3 inches of water in the tub - not even enough to cover the top of the articles in the tub (I used 6 towels as my test subjects) it stops to soak. But stuff is still sticking up out of the water!!! OMG! So frustrating. This would not do for dyeing anything of value as you would not be able to agitate enough to ensure coverage of the fabric evenly with dye. Just dont buy this washer if you have, as I have in the past, enjoyed changing the color of linens and re-dyeing dark clothing that have faded! Whirlpool clearly didnt care about how consumers actually need to use the washer. I may try using this setting by pausing and filling it manually with buckets of hot water from my sink to get enough water in there to cover the fabric. Its just ridiculous that I even have to consider how to outsmart my washer!4. Smelly clothes. Seriously. I do the obligatory monthly Affresh cleanings, and I have learned to leave the lid open after the last load of clothes so the tub can air dry. However, I still from time to time pull a load out of the tub and it smells like mildew. And dont think for one second that the smell will go away when dried. I have opened the dryer and pulled clothes out, smelled the mildew and put them right back in the washer for a 2nd go round. Nothing worse than putting on a clean nightgown and smelling like mildew! Ewe!! With this awful washer you can NEVER leave a load of washed clothing sit for any length of time or you can look forward to smelly clothing. Hate it. Absolutely HATE it. Again, this defeats the purpose of using less water.Cant make myself spend more dollars that I dont have in the budget to replace this piece of crap. I have figured out all the workarounds for now, but as soon as I can replace it I will send it to the dump. Not going to resell or donate to anyone else as it would just be a burden for others. If there was ever a rightful need for a class action lawsuit to compensate consumers for false claims by a company - this is it! Hope this helps prevent anyone reading from making the poor purchase decision I have!

I bought this Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washing Machine in December and have hated it ever since. The energy efficiency this item claims means that you will spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting for your load to finish. My family hates this machine and I regularly have to hear about how long the load is taking because the timer adjusts continually. Put in a QUICK load and it said 38 minutes, came back in 30 and it said 24 minutes. It is so frustrating!!! We are afraid to put anything on a heavy soil setting or anything other than quick, because it can take 2-3 hours to complete. I have to schedule a day to wash my bedding and there isnt any convenience in doing a quick load. I am going to have to sell this one and purchase another washer. What a loss!! This machine has been a time and money waster! I will NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL again!!! I bought this machine through Best Buy.

I work on Whirlpool refrigerators for a living every single day of my agonizing, miserable, lousy life. Ive never seen such a mass of dysfunctional, defective rejects as I have with the new Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerators. The ice maker never works because the water line always freezes in the door. The food in your refrigerator side will either spoil or freeze because the damper door will stick open or freeze shut. The water filter housing will start leaking before you change the filter for the first time because of the inferior quality of the plastic its made from. And of course my all time favorite the compressor will always go out under the first 5 years (Thats why Whirlpool changed the warranty from 5 years to 1 on the sealed system). Ive never been a big extended warranty believer. But, like old saying goes, They just dont make them like they use to. Definitely applies to Whirlpool refrigerators.

When we moved into our new home in May of 2012 we needed to buy appliances. After much research we purchased all Whirlpool appliances at Lowes. After a year and a half our Whirlpool model WRT5L1SMYFOO failed to freeze or keep items cool. We called Whirlpool and they connected us with a technician who said it would cost more money to fix than buy a new one. He said that we got a bad one. We called Whirlpool again and received no assistance. Refrigerators should last more than a year and a half! I have seen other complaints on this model and have yet to see any proof of restitution from the Whirlpool corporation. This is complete consumer abuse. Some sort of action needs to be taken against Whirlpool. This corrupt behavior is the downfall of our country.
