Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a rep
Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a repair bill on our washing machine which now has a bearing failure and estimate to repair was 1279.00. Its 6.5 Yrs old, just out of extended warranty and cost me with the pedestal a total of 1250.00 when new. I explained that in the 6.5 since I have lived at this house where we spend all new Whirlpool Gold Appliances, half have now failed. Range Microwave, Dishwasher and now the 1250.00 front loader is dying a slow and agonizing death with a bearing failure. Just so everyone understands, the estimate is from an official Whirlpool repair service that was booked through the Whirlpool website. Other repair folks just would not bother to look at it when I told them I believe the bearing was going bad.The repair man that arrived was professional and on time. However, I had a hard time understanding how a 6.5 Yr old washing machine would be considered beyond economical repair by costing 1279.00 to repair. Labor was 250.00 which I thought was fair. Time, etc. But parts made up the difference in cost. So later in the day, I spoke to Whirlpool and they offered the equal new washer for what would seem an excellent price. About half off. Wow, I thought that sounded good. So I asked if my existing pedestal would work with the new washer and it did not and I would have to pay for one. Regardless if my old one was fine or not.So, they offered a discounted rate from new at another half off. Total approx 800.00. So, I asked the Whirlpool rep to hold on and I need to check with my wife if she wants the replacement. She uses it as much as I do and wanted her thoughts. She checked the model on the washer and pedestal and with the local Home improvement store, they have it on sale for both units (washer and pedestal) and its about 50.00 less?Consequently, I called Whirlpool back and explained that it does not move the needle to regain my trust as compensation on a 6 yr bearing failure, failed dishwasher and range microwave they offer what a distributor of their product can offer for less as a package? Really? I mean, the Home improvement store is not in the business to lose money. Now, I am having a hard time understanding my own failure to have trust in a brand I used to have with my previous house. My mom had an old Whirlpool washing machine that lasted 25 years before she and my dad gave it away. You know, the old white top loader they used to make back in the 70s. Sheet metal, made a racket and never broke? Oh yeah got the clothes clean too! I dont know what to make of it anymore. So, I will just wait till it dies and take my hard earned money and spend it on another brand in my next house which we are going to move to soon. Maybe I can feel nostalgic and find my moms old washer. Its probably washing someones rags right now and getting them clean. It must be 35 yrs old by now.I dont expect to get anything for free. Its out of warranty, so I need to deal with the consequences, but there are steps the other party can take to help remedy the situation. I think they tried and it was genuine but in my thoughts its just not enough when your local box store is offering the same. When you develop a brand to extend a message of trust in quality and value, you need to have quality and value all the time. I suggested they help with the costs on the parts. I would certainly pay for the labor. Parts cost little to the manufacturer. Unable to help that way. I thought it was cheaper for them too. Guess not. Its come to be a throw away washing machine at 6.5 yrs and I am Infinitely disappointed. I just want my washing machine to work as well as my mothers old one and have the possibility to fix once in a while when needed.

Very disappointed with this refrigerator. Not even 10 years old and we have had it repaired 2 times plus my husband had to dismantle ice maker and take the back off inside of the freezer, using the blow dryer to thaw out the tube and manually blow in a tube to open the drain. The water leaking to the bottom of the fridge and into cold meat drawer and fruit keeper drawer. It eventually runs onto the floor if I dont catch it. This has been an ongoing problem for 6 years now. Today was another bill to the repairman for this problem. Very disgusted. This time he only thawed it out, the time before he replaced a part and thawed it out. I know he will be back because thawing is only a temporary fix because my husband did this numerous times, like every couple of months. Never again will I buy a Whirlpool refrigerator! I gave my daughter my old refrigerator and its over 20 years old and never had a repair! My current refrigerator is Model # ETICHMXKB03 with ice maker. Top freezer.

I like the experience of the microwave. Especially because it’s mounted in the wall and easily accessible. User-friendly, easy to use, and pretty self-explanatory. It’s very easy to clean which is something my wife really loves knowing we both are working professionals.

I purchase a new Whirlpool Calypso with Catalyst Washing Machine in 2006 after a house fire. Thinking that I was buying a great machine. I was so upset with my house burning that I never thought about the washing destroying my towels, rugs and sweaters until it was too late on the guarantee. I called the company and ask if there were any more complaints about this machine, and of course they said no. I ask if there was a recall and they said no. I told them that there needed to be a recall of this machine. I so want them to see the towels that I have to use. I am so embarrassed of my towels that I have to buy new when company comes. I made no difference on the price that I paid for the towels. They all were destroyed by this Whirlpool Washer. I have had enough, I am buying a new Washer and it will not be a Whirlpool. I believe that the right thing to do is for the Whirlpool company to put a recall on this machine and give our money back. I had a friend that is in charge of another washer company and had him to look at it. He said that if that was his customer complaining about his washer that they would automatically bring the customer another new machine. I wish I had went with his company. Shame on Whirlpool for treating their customers like they have.

My experiences using Whirpool ranges and ovens have been very positive. As a matter of fact, that is the brand preferred by my family through several generations. Durability, reliability and warranties have been the main features we have found useful. Most of the ranges and ovens have been replaced at home, always with Whirlpool brand, but with added improvements that manufacturer come up with, in order to integrate our devices to the latest technologies. I would recommend this brand to the readers, friends and neighbors.

This refrigerator is only days old and I realize the mistake that was made in buying it- it is far too noisy! When it is running I can hear it in my basement- sounds like a car in my driveway idling with no muffler!!! And when it stops running, it gurgles loudly for 10-15 seconds. Dont even start on the door being hard to pull open after the door was recently opened.

Washing Machine Model WTW4616FW - I purchased this machine at Home Depot after I had to return my Samsung Costco machine that was recalled due to the glass top flying off. I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. I was shocked that it was actually Made in America. I highly recommend it and I hope they keep making this reliable machine that gets the clothes clean. Awesome machine without the bells and whistles that I dont expect to breakdown. Way to go Whirlpool!

I bought this nightmare machine one year ago, and stop working. If I try to program a cycle it put itself lock so I can not use or program any cycle. I can not open the door and start a noise like it was draining without clothes at all. And when finally it ends, the machine is like dead, no works, no programs no nothing. I am sick of this appliance. It is almost new and just does not work as it should be. But the worst is customer service, OMG. They lie about everything. The technician came to see what was the problem and told me it was the card, so he could not do anything until the factory send the piece to the place where I live. Well this happened one month ago and I am still waiting for the service. My guarantee was still on time, but every day at customer service they have a excuse/lie that the piece is on my way and service will be completed. Well I am still waiting and nothing happens. I am desperate. No one cares about the customer. If I would have known or read the bad reviews about these washing machines I would have never bought it. I got it at Walmart. I regret deeply. I do not know where or what else to do. Nobody cares or listen. Shame on you Whirlpool.

Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpools corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! I am at my wits end. Today I wrote to the Attorney General. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this model refrigerator!! It has been a nightmare!! !

We bought a Whirlpool microwave model # GH7208XRY4 at the Habitat For Humanity store. It was brand new still in the unopened box with the warranty card in the box. The box was undamaged and in perfect shape. We loved this microwave until six months later, it started to throw a code F6 and wouldnt work - it wouldnt turn on or off and we couldnt use it at all. Since this is an under the cabinet model, it was a little hard to uninstall it as its a built-in. I called the customer service center and they dont cover it because the ordinal purchase date was 2012, we bought it in Oct 2014. I guess someone bought it in 2012. They say that since the ordinal purchase date was 2012, they dont warranty. They also said because I had bought it from the ReStore, it was a donated item and would cover it. I told them the box was unopened and it worked for several months, so their stand was it might have been damaged when I bought it. Again I told them it worked for 6 months, so how could it have been damaged when I bought it? They were very unhelpful.

Whirlpool Cabrio, H2 washer system type 588 01, serial # c0303 10 - We have been in our condo 5 years. The washer & dryer was here and new when we moved in. I have been displeased with it from the start. It takes forever to wash through a load, and the clothes are just as dirty after being washed as before. I soaked some whites in Clorox overnight and ran through using Tide and Downy. Then the stains and dirt were still there. I ran them again it was not any better. I had a professional from Hagadorn come. They could not find anything wrong. It cost us about $100.00. Others in our area have the same complaint. I have never been satisfied with this wash. It just does not get the clothes clean. Please help!!!

I bought a Whirlpool gold side by side with freezer on bottom and the ice maker in refrigerator part in March of 2013. Ice maker dropped ice one time. In 5 days Lowes brought me a new one out and swapped it because it was in their 7 day policy. Ok this one worked good for about 2 months. Ice maker quit again. Service came out, changed out some parts that didnt work. 2 months roll by the new parts they ordered came in. Service came out again, put those parts in. Worked for about 3 weeks then stopped again. 3 times new service guy comes out and replaces some more parts and he had the wrong motherboard so guess what, had to order. It took 4 weeks to get it here. They came, put it on. It worked for around 2 months. I asked Whirlpool for my money back, they said that that was not a going to happen. I asked for another refrig, they said they would have to have 3 more service calls on the frig before they could do that. Well I have got a $3000 dollar refrigerator that has no working ice maker and Im sick and tired of the runaround. Whirlpool sucks. I will never buy another thing with their name on it. Matter fact I wouldnt take it if you give it to me. (Why) you ask, because in a short time Im going to have to haul it off for junk and its not going to bring nowhere near what I gave for it at the scrap yard.

The machine is two years old. It cost over $1,000 to buy. From the beginning, we have had mold issues with the machine. The entire house fills with the smell of rotten eggs every time we use it. The machine is used daily so it doesnt sit for long periods. Despite all the complaints online about their machines, Whirlpool refused to acknowledge that there is a design problem with the machine. They refused to make any repairs or buy the machine back and their only suggestion was to buy more chemicals from them to use to clean the machine. We have done this in the past to no avail. Oh, they did offer to send out a service company but on my dime. Whirlpool needs to be sued and I only wish that someone would start a class action suit against them. It really stinks when you try and do the right thing and buy American only to have the company not give a crap about their customers or the fact that their product is garbage. About 10 years ago, I had a Maytag front loader washing machine with the same problem. Maytag bought the machine back on a pro-rated basis, no problem, no question. Of course, Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool. Too bad they didnt adopt Maytags customer service policy. I cant wait for them to go out of business - something they deserve.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

Very dissatisfied with the product, I will never buy another appliance from Sears again. I have always used Sears appliances but after this experience I would not recommend Sears to anyone. Have a Whirlpool side by side about a year and a half old. Fridge started getting warm, so when I contacted the Whirlpool co, they informed me and sold me a year warranty to cover what the problem is and anything that would go wrong in the next year. The warranty is through Assurant. After contacting them, I found out they could not have a repairman out for another week. Wasnt happy, but nothing I could do. They found out the compressor was bad, ordered the part which showed up the next day, but could not come out to install it for another week. Getting more upset. Put it in and my fridge was hotter than before. Called and they could not have anyone out for (you got it) another week. The new compressor was bad. Ordered a second one, came the next day, and they put a rush on the repair so I only had to wait 4 days this time. Guess what, it still does not work. Had to wait another 4 days for someone to come out. So tomorrow is the day. We shall see will it be another compressor and another week to put it in? I never heard of any company stretching a repair over a months time. I am so angry with Whirlpool, Assurant and A&E repair company; you just dont know. I would not recommend buying or going through these companies. This is very unprofessional.

Bought water heater from Lowes in 2016. 4 days ago I came home to find water all over garage and a burnt smell coming from the water heater. Whirlpools warranty department is absolutely horrible. I spent 3 days sending pictures of the water heater, circuit breakers and water on garage floor with cc sent to my husbands email account and mine. Each day I would telephone the warranty department and told that they never received pictures and they couldnt do anything until they received the pictures. I asked for a supervisor who wouldnt even come to the phone. Both my husband and myself received the pics and email just fine. A representative said they have firewalls and things attached so that they cant receive attachments and downloads. So I sent directly from my phone and they still claimed they never received. They refused to give me contact phone numbers for supervisors. Out of frustration I called the Lowes store where I purchased and a store representative spent 4 hours making phone calls trying to help. She was completely frustrated as well. I was told even though there is a 6 year warranty, I am to pay parts and labor and that the repair company for my area that Whirlpool utilizes doesnt even deal with Whirlpool parts so that whatever is needed would have to be ordered! Im on day 4 of no hot water, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This product was installed by Lowes and inspected by the state, not a DIY!

Whirlpool Duet $1300, in the past we had great service from other Whirlpool products. Just a more modern look and knowing it was a company we had used in the past with very little or no problems so we expected the same only with energy and water savings. We are energy aware and believe in conserving energy and water where we can. My wife wanted to stick with the brand that gave us good service in the past and chose one of their most conservative units on the market (I believe it was based mainly on looks). What burns me the most about this unit is its constant consumption of clothing, the repair guy found nothing askew with the unit and suggested smaller loads. So we reduced the load size smaller and smaller till we were washing each outfit separately and guess what, it still ate clothes, just chews them up.We lose about a hundred dollars a month in clothing. This washer tears holes and shreds clothing on almost every load, I have to put shirts and lighter clothes to the back of the washer then load the heavier blue jeans and such toward the front and hope they finish in the same position or something is ruined. The fabric becomes distressed, stretched, shredded or has holes, or any combination of the above. We have taken to going to a laundromat or sending clothes to the cleaners. These units are three years old and we are now looking for a replacement for the washer because the local service guy won’t even come out any more. This problem surfaced within a week of the first use of the machine and has remained steady, as we are retired and travel a lot we are not always using them so they are what I would term very lightly used.

On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I called the dealer and they sent out a service person. He said that was just the way it was and he couldnt do anything. So, I keep trying to use the gentle cycle, but it was the same thing. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.

The replacement cost for each item is ridiculous especially considering how flimsy the items are. We decided to look at Whirlpool Refrigerators since the one we have is still running. They have changed absolutely nothing in the drawer or door design. It is all still very flimsy especially compared to the competition. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a fridge to look elsewhere, since, obviously, the quality of the interior is not a priority at Whirlpool. Avoid Whirlpool Refrigerators. The drawers and drawer shelves will ALL break since they have put no effort into fixing obvious defects.

I purchased the GBS309PVS single oven in Dec. 09 along with a Whirlpool Gold microwave, dishwasher, and stove top. The oven was dented and scratched, so another one was delivered on 1/10/10. I finally decided to use the cleaning cycle in Oct. 10. It burned out the circuit board and something else. It was under warranty and repaired. I was afraid to use it again, but tried it yesterday, 12/27/2011. It smelled horrible, knocked the power out of the oven, and the door will not unlock. Customer service was not very kind and said that I had to purchase a $269 warranty and they would send someone out. I did, unwillingly. Well see what happens on Friday. If this is not resolved, I will go further. This is a faulty part of the manufacturing and should be handled as so.

We purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator at the end of July 2018. At the beginning of November 2019 all the interior lights went out at the same time. We called the store where it was purchased, and they instructed us to call Whirlpool. Because a year had passed, they were not willing to do anything other than put us in touch with someone who could service the refrigerator. We already know the repair will cost over $200. That does not include payment for the service call or the labor. At almost the same time we purchased a new Whirlpool microwave. We have also had problems with that. My advice is to stay away from Whirlpool products if you want something that will last longer than a year.

After having my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator ice maker replaced 4 TIMES in 10 years, I finally found a permanent fix for it: an Igloo counter top ice maker for around half the price of a replacement Whirlpool ice maker. Unlike the Whirlpool ice maker, it makes ice. I promptly removed the Whirlpool ice maker FOR THE LAST TIME, and sent it to the dump, where it belongs. Goodbye Whirlpool! If that is the best you can produce, you will not receive any more of my hard earned money!

We get the error code F1 in the start of the cycle and when there is 21 minutes left, we have to stop and reset at least 7 times before the water fills. We put a new sensor in for over $200. The second problem is it goes off balance no matter what the load is. I was going to have it fixed (if possible). After reading all the above I wont waste any more money on it and go buy an old fashioned reliable washer. What a piece of money sucking machine especially when I dont have any extra money to waste down the drain. I wish I knew before. There are a lot of people this time of year I would have rather given the money for a needy cause. How disappointed we are with Whirlpool!

I have paid for two service visits from A&E and now every 5 minutes get the LF error. My fabric softener does not drain into load either. My only option is repair again and I got a sorry from Whirlpool. I think Im going to look for an old fashion cheap machine as it cant be of worse quality than this Cabrio wtw6400sw1.

Ill be just as responsible as Whirlpool and Nasons has been... I bought my Whirlpool stove less than 2 yrs ago from a reputable business in a nearby community, CROWN POINT, INDIANA! I have had trouble w/ the burner knobs ever since I bought it...just brushing up against them turns them on. Enough gas escapes into the kitchen... I bought knob covers to prevent that (they did NOT work)! So I called the place I bought the stove from and they sent out a repairman...he said there was no fix for it... but that I owed him $69.99 for the service call. And every time I turn the oven on to heat it to bake something you smell gas also... Im almost afraid to use it... 3 nights ago I woke up to the kitchen filled w/ gas...knob covers on but still one was still on a bit... it was a whopping -25 and we had to open windows to clear out the gas... you shouldnt have to check the knobs once youve turned them off. Nor should they come on when you brush by them...when youre not even cooking... Granted I am short but the serviceman said I should move everything I needed to cook w/ closer to me so I didnt have to brush up against the stove... what????? I have cabinets above and all around the stove. What I cant use those cabinets????? Something is terribly wrong w/ the stove and the service... If youre in the market for a new stove, dont buy a Whirlpool and for certain DONT buy anything from NASONS appliances in Crown Point Indiana... They along with whirlpool dont stand behind their product... They told me they never had that complaint before. WRONG, I read it more than once on this site...liars all of them!

Whirlpool Dryer Model #108409 - This dryer has given me problems within a year of purchasing it. I thought that I was investing into a good product by paying more money, $1677 to be exact. Technicians have been to my house on three different occasions and yesterday the repairman wrote that the dryer in not repairable. Badcock Furniture store in Hinesville, Georgia said that they can do nothing. BWG, who is responsible for the warranty, wants to charge me to have it repaired even against the report of the repairman saying its non repairable. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH WHIRLPOOL... I will never by another Whirlpool product. I bought this product in April of 2012 and it did not make one year before it started giving us problems. The repairman also said that the dryer was probably dropped in transporting it and it could not be detected from just looking from the front view.

I purchased it new in July 2008 for $550, a single homeowner average 4-5 loads a week. First time it broke down, it was just inside the one-year limited warranty. It broke down again Sept. 2011, the basket separated from spinning mechanism. I learned that after $75+ missing day of work, repair tech quoted cost of repair $885 and a minimum of 10 days waiting for part to arrive.I called Whirlpool, the guy on the phone was nice but told me I was out of luck. Even if I had purchased the 3-year warranty, I would still be out of luck. The washer was manufactured in April 2008. What a piece of junk. Save your money and skip it. I wish I had. Aside: Whirlpool, whatever happened to standing behind your products? I used to think you were a quality brand. Im extremely disappointed and wont be purchasing any of your products in the future.

When the fridge is running and there is a power loss of about a second or so, the fridge shuts down and will not restart (even after hours). I have to unplug it for a minute or so then plug it back in; it runs fine until the next very short power failure. When we are out of town for a few days and that happens, we come home to a fridge of ruined food and a mess. I have contacted Whirlpool (2 times) and they were no help at all. It seems to me a software change could solve the problem, but they are unwilling to listen.

Motor control board needs to be replaced, actuator needs to be replaced. $500+ Our local appliance store suggested we call the Whirlpool customer relations number and ask for the parts to be sent free of charge. We would pay labor. They gave us the model number, serial number, the diagnostic info. Long story short, customer service told me she didnt know why I was told to contact them. They can not predict the life of a machine. Less than 3 years for this machine. 22 years for my old Kenmore. I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

I knew I couldnt be the only one with these problems. The reviews confirmed it. I bought my Cabrio washer in 2012. Energy efficient, no agitator to catch on clothes, Great. It took me a while to figure out that the machine was eating my clothes and not cleaning them at all. Oh, they smelled fresh. That HE detergent smells nasty. The machine ate the edges off my good towels, T-shirts, jeans. Brand new underwear (thick elastic) was stretched all the way out and pulled. Normal stains and dirt do not come out even with pretreating. I started running my clothes on the delicate cycle, prewashing stains in a bucket by hand and then putting clothes in mesh bag before running the load. They still came out dirty and ruined. When I run the loads, it still registers as not being that energy efficient on the controls. Id gladly trade it back for my old washer. I feel like I have stepped back in time to a time where you washed everything in a tub or bucket. What a waste of time.

If I could give half a star, I would. I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher. Once installed, it leaked immediately. Thinking it is best to call Whirlpool for repairs under warranty, they decided to send out a technician from A&E Factory Repair. This is where the service sucks.A&E needed me to wait about 2 weeks for the first available appointment for service. When the technician arrived and pulled out the dishwasher, he told me that he would not repair it because he didnt like where the hose was installed through the cabinet. He insisted that only after the hose was moved, they would return to fix the leak if it was still an issue.Of course, the hose was then moved and the machine still leaks. So, I called A&E back to schedule another service call. I was again told that the next available service call was 2 weeks out. Now, the day before the service call, I receive a phone call from A&E, telling me that they have to reschedule the service call that is supposed to be for tomorrow. Once again, the earliest next available appointment is another week out.If it was now not past the original 30 days to be able to return the item to Lowes, I would have already done that. By the time the first A&E service call happened, it was already past the 30 days in which I could have returned it to Lowes.I will never purchase Whirlpool again simply because they use A&E service center.

That too, how it happened the day next to the warranty period. I have the same pilot light problems as everybody else. I pulled the burner unit out, and cleaned, and blew everything out, and took a wire brush to the openings on the floor of the unit. I called customer service, and was asked about ventilation. I didnt mention that the heater still didnt work, even when the door to the tin water heater was removed, so venting is not the likely culprit. She authorized a repair that will likely do nothing from the comments I see.The real problem with their customer service, is the apparent stupidity of the computer system. She asked me for the model and ID number. I had to cut through the extra insulation blanked on the tank to get it. However, when I gave it to her, she then asked me if I was ** and if I live at **. If this information was already in the computer, why couldnt there be a search by my name and address, to get the model and serial number. Obviously, I had registered the water heater in the past. Isnt being able to get this information the reason to register in the first place? Now, I have to replace the extra insulation, all because of a stupid inability to create the necessary searches in their customer database. Yes, I could have written the numbers down, but why have the customer registration at all, if it isnt to be used for anything, other than data mining of the customer base.

Repair man said it is not fixable. I did not buy a warranty because it was too expensive compared to the value of the washing machine. We have a Whirlpool with freezer on top, nothing fancy in the apartment we rent. Twice the lines have clogged up with ice, causing the water to pool in the bottom of the fridge and then leak onto the floor. The maintenance man said this was a common problem in the complex with the refrigerators. Tonight, I heard noise coming out of the fridge. It was so loud it scared the cat. I went to check on it and a juice bottle had exploded in the fridge. It cannot keep an appropriate temperature. Things up front are barely cool and things at the back freeze. I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator model #wrt1litzyv along with the extended warranty from Lowes. The compressor stopped working just before the warranty was to expire and had to be replaced. The cost of repairs almost equaled the price of the refrigerator and took nearly 2 months for the reimbursement check to arrive. I had to call several times. They told me they hadnt received the paperwork even though I sent it registered mail and it was signed for and I had to resend it. Now, less than 4 months later, the refrigerator is again not working properly. Freezer is not freezing properly. Takes 2 days to freeze ice. This is the absolutely worst refrigerator Ive ever had. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. This one is only 3 years old and of course, the warranty is now expired. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. And I will never buy a major appliance from Lowes either since they play games with the warranties. And after the refrigerator was repaired, Whirlpool tried to sell me another extended warranty. They wanted $308.60 for a 3-year warranty. Ridiculous that they dont stand behind their products. And try to sell more warranties instead of just manufacturing a good product.

In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in November 2020. The washer has had nothing but problems. It leaks, vibrates and moves on the floor. My mother called Home Depot to see what she needs to do, and they said once they deliver the product it is out of their hands. Had our first service call in May 2021 by an authorized service and he said they should sell this on eBay. It is a horrible product, he said there is nothing he can do. Had a second authorized service in June 2021 and they said we needed a new tub which they ordered, and he said this will take up to 2 months, they also said to do only small loads and only use the deep-water wash and deep water rinse. After the technician left the agitator now comes apart. Would not recommend this product to anyone and I would never buy anything at Home Depot because they do stand by the products they sell.

Bought a Whirlpool Gold stainless steel refrigerator and the thermostat didnt work after a couple months of use. Lost all the product in the refrigerator and freezer and whirlpool would not compensate us. They did pay for the $29 part because it was under warranty but still think it was completely their fault for putting a defective thermostat in it. Last night the relay on the circuit breaker stopped working and I again lost all my refrigerated food overnight. This time it is not under warranty because the warranty was only good for one year. So, I just paid $314.03 to have it repaired. So angry that I spent so much money on 4 Whirlpool Gold products when I remodeled my kitchen.

We purchased a Whirlpool washer/dryer set 19 months ago and the washer just stopped working. Our trusted fix-it man came out and diagnosed it as a spin bearing problem assuring me it was not anything we had done. He stated it was a defected part or Whirlpool had never put grease in the bearings. A 450.00 part not counting diagnosis and labor. When I called Whirlpool, the first response I got was that they were sorry but we didnt buy the extended warranty, and of course the warranty it had was only a year. I asked to talked to a supervisor and finally she agreed to supply the part, but I was still responsible for the diagnostic and labor fee, which will be a couple of hundreds of dollars! Not happy with Whirlpool and will NEVER buy any product with their name again. Beware consumers!!!

In May 2010, I purchased a Whirlpool WFW9750WW front load washing machine. In October 2010, the machine started making a strange noise and by December 2010, the machine sounded like a jet airplane. I called Whirlpool warranty and they sent out the appliance doctor. They looked at it and said that the bearings were shot and needed an inner basket, outer basket and one other item. They would order it and come back in a week or so. We were told not to use our machine. Ten days later, I called to check repair status and they said that the items were on back order until late January. I called Whirlpool and after several conversations and going to the second level of supervisor over a week time frame, they finally located the part and shipped it. However, it was not until the end of January 2011 (seven weeks after my call for service) that the part arrived and was installed. The sound was never right after the repair. The appliance doctor came out and told me that all washers are loud. In December 2011, the jet airplane sound returned. I called Whirlpool but I was now out of warranty. Luckily, I bought the extended warranty through Lowes. They sent out Night Owl on February 9th 2012. They diagnosed the same problem with the bearings and said they would order the parts. I called Night Owl on February 17th to check on status and they said that the parts were ordered. I called to check status again today and now the parts are on back order (same as last time) until sometime in March. Night Owl turned claim over to check on getting the machine replaced rather than repaired. I was told that this would be another five days. Its amazing how there are no parts available. I was told the repair cost for this item is over $450 as it takes two repairmen about two to three hours to complete. Issue is still not resolved. I highly recommend not buying a similar washing machine. Whirlpools product, warranty and customer service suck.

My elderly parents had everything they own destroyed in Hurricane Sandy. After rebuilding their home, the new Whirlpool washing machine was broken. Whirlpool refused to disconnect and remove the machine that was obviously broken before it arrived. This is something that no one should have to go through. It is appalling and bad business. Through the kindness of friends, we had several male friends help with the removal. Truly shocking, that this is how Whirlpool handled this situation.

I took a shower and was getting ready to leave for the day when I went into my garage to smell burning plastic and wires. I traced it to the hot water heater and discovered the wires in the Energy Smart were melted and burned. I checked with Two Electricians who told me that the wires in the unit can not handle the high heat and melt. If you have one get rid of it. I purchased a total of four Whirlpool appliances in June of 2008. Almost thirteen months after the installation of all four appliances, I experienced a problem with the control panel on the Gas Range GW397LXUB, and a sensor control problem with the Microwave GH5184XPB5. Fortunately, Whirlpool agreed to repair the appliances at no charge because it was so close to the end of the warranty. The microwave was an easy fix and simply had to be unplugged, reset and plugged back in. However, the entire electronic control panel had to be replaced on the gas range. Several of the buttons simply stopped working and I was only able to bake at 350 degrees. Again, almost thirteen months after the installation of the new control panel, it happened again. Same buttons stopped working. When I contacted Whirlpool, they refused to replace the part because I was no longer under warranty. Whirlpool refused to admit that there was a problem with the control panel, so I guess it was a crazy coincidence that I experienced the exact same problem on both. I filed an official complaint with Whirlpool in hopes that if enough people do so, they will issue a recall. I am now experiencing a problem with my refrigerator ED5FHAXSB03. The fan vibrates so loudly that you can hear it throughout the entire house.

Whirlpool Washing Cabrio machine model WTW5500XW0 - I purchased this machine five years ago. After about a year I started having problems where the clothes were not coming out clean. I contacted Whirlpool and was referred for a repair. The repair man told me these newer machines need the Affresh product to clean out the machine so this doesnt happen. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Its ironic because the cover of the booklet for the machine says low-water washer which was the selling point to buying this machine. Instead of using less water, Im using DOUBLE the water.

My Whirlpool Gold, Model # G16FDRXxQ06, has failed four (4) separate times. In each case I lost thousands of dollars, mostly in high-quality frozen foods. A Sears repair service representative came and repaired the refrigerator. In less than a year, after each repair, I had to call again. Three of these failures resulted in the loss of my food because the refrigerator simply stopped running. Unfortunately, I had been away from home for more than a week. One failure was caused by water leaking. This was apparently caused by a frozen pipe under the refrigerator. The repairman said that this was a routine failure for this Whirlpool model. I would like to recover my financial loss from Whirlpool. Is there a process to claim my loss? Is there a better, more reliable refrigerator?

I contacted several more people and found out that heater was fine; all we needed was the part. The customer service woman was very rude and not willing to help at all. I told them we don’t have the money to keep replacing their piece of **. I ended up having to order yet again another part that was just replaced 2 months ago from Lowes. So after being with no hot water since Monday, now on Friday it is fixed, I wonder for how long. We do not recommend Whirlpool for nothing and will never buy a piece of ** from them anymore. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. I recently purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number WRT351SFYB00. Several months later, I noticed a small amount of water on my kitchen floor. I moved the refrigerator and found the hard wood floor under it had been completely ruined, so the leak had obviously been going on for a long time. Possibly since day one. I called a repair man. He identified the leak was coming from a cracked drip tray which was not uncommon. However, much to his surprise, due to the design of this model, he was unable to remove and replace the tray. He explained there was a metal panel bolted in place that was preventing him from replacing it. He said this panel was also bolted to the compressor. Therefore, the best he could do was caulk whatever cracks he found in the existing tray and hope for the best. It goes without saying he could not guarantee his work like he normally does.I noticed this same complaint on a user forum website on Appliancepartspros.com, so this refrigerator obviously has a significant design flaw. My repairman said if it was his refrigerator, hed get rid of it, and also indicated that after seeing this, hed never again recommend Whirlpool to anyone. All I know is that Whirlpool is permanently off of my list now as well.

I hate this washing machine (Whirlpool Cabriolet) with every ounce of my being. That may sound harsh when talking about a washing machine. But, I assure you it is warranted. I have owned many washers in my day. This machine came to me after a family member passed away. The machine was almost new and had not been used very much at all. I found out very quickly that in order to simply wash a load of laundry could take as much as four hours. Every time you go to do laundry you get continuous codes and alarms. So it is a series of trips up and down the stairs to reset the machine, try to equalize the balance, and in many cases I have to unplug the machine and reset it all together. I have researched it extensively. And I have followed the instructions in the manual and from online instructional videos trying to resolve the multiple issues. I cannot wait to get an average everyday washing machine that is not too smart for its own good. I hate, hate, hate this machine!!!

I called Whirlpool in January 2017 and they told me it was out of warranty and it would cost $150.00 for a repair person to just look at it. I decided to just keep using the microwave because I only paid $232.00 for it and I figured after parts and labor if would probably cost over $200.00 to fix it. I called Whirlpool back in June because the microwave wouldnt shut off and even kept running when you opened the door. Whirlpool sent out a repair person at no cost to fix it. But the repair person told me Whirlpool only paid for him to diagnose the problem. I had to pay for the repair. After working on the microwave and replacing sensors and fuses he determined the microwave irreparable. I called Whirlpool back and they just told me that my microwave is 1 1/2 years old and they were not responsible after 1 year and I should have bought the extended warranty.
