Product Reviews:

We purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater (Model No. N40T61-343) from Lowes
We purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater (Model No. N40T61-343) from Lowes in the Summer of 2013. 2.5 years later, the water heater goes out as of 01/19/2016. Therefore, I contacted the telephone number on the side of the water heater in order to restart the water heater. We followed the instructions by pushing in the pilot button, as well the ignition button. To no avail, the water heater did not restart. I called customer service on Thursday (01/21/2016) to speak with a representative. She said that we needed another Thermopile and a Gas Valve replacement. So, who is going to put it on? It would cost as much as getting a whole new water heater. Therefore, we are going to Menards to purchase the Richmond Gas Water Heater. We had a Richmond once before; and it lasted from 1999 or 2000, until 2013.After reading all the reviews about this brand water heater (Whirlpool), no wonder people are complaining. Ladies and gentlemen, do yourselves a favor and not buy a Whirlpool Water Heater. The only thing that Whirlpool is good for is only their name. Their Water Heaters in particular are worthless pieces of junk. NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL GAS WATER HEATER AGAIN!!!

I bought the Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine. It was a piece of junk and I bought it 3 years ago. Sounds like a jet taking off during spin cycle and drain.Well, let me tell you, its terrible. It walks out of the space its in during spin all the time and the F Codes. Im done! Just replaced the pump and motor for the drain on the thing and unplugged it several times to reset it. Still is giving me F codes.Im done, I tell you! Done! This has been going on since we bought it!

I hadnt had the machine. In no time, I started noticing brown rust looking spots on my whites and light colored clothing. I got to looking and had rusted out all around the bleach dispenser, entire area on the entire top. I was told to replace it. This would be about $200. Ridiculous!

I purchased this washer 3 years ago. At year 2, I had to replace the RPS part. The codes that appear represent 2 different issues as well: one being the RPS part and also for the control panel. In less than 1 year since this replacement, it is broken again! The clothes do not get very clean. You cant soak whites in hot water and bleach (it drains after 5 minutes if you stop it). You have to use the bulky setting to get enough water to actually wash your clothes. If you get too much detergent, your clothes comes out crunchy feeling even with the extra rinse.I thought this Whirlpool product would be great since my 22 year old dishwasher is a Whirlpool and still works but as the old saying goes... They dont make them to last like they used to. To say this washer is a POS Lemon is an understatement! I also have the companion dryer and it is starting to have problems including the door latch breaking into pieces. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I have been told that Kenmore and Maytag are also under the Whirlpool umbrella so Im not sure what I will buy next. My recommendation: DO NOT BUY THESE PRODUCTS!!!

I went from an HE front loader to an HE top loader (Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7000DW0) due to the risk of mildew with the front loader. Im not the only one doing laundry and if someone else does it, it always seems that they shut the door when empty, contributing to moisture and mold that needed to be cleaned out of the gaskets. I am so unhappy with my top loader HE washer. When I stop the machine and look, I always see my laundry half covered with dingy water, sometimes part of it still dry at the top and it is disgusting. I frequently have to rewash loads due to detergent getting trapped in folds or pockets created that hold on to dirt and lint, even being careful with the detergent amount. I run the washer now every time with settings of deep water, extra rinse, heavy load and presoak with instructions, with settings taped to the top for others. At almost 1 1/2 hours each load, we just cant keep up. The laundry still forms pockets and sheets form a giant tent over the entire load that has to be unraveled at the end of the cycle and wound so tight it had no chance of rinsing. I had to get a repair person out because it got out of balance and he had a small hand-held computer to enter a code to rebalance it. When we discussed the issues I was having, he was ready for everything I was doing wrong. He told me I can not wash blankets or large items (I thought I was buying large capacity with such an enormous drum). He told me they have caught people adding water with a bucket during cycles and that the washer software can tell them if people are trying to work around the system which voids the warranty.Apparently, this is a common complaint he blames on the government wanting high efficiency so they make the numbers look good, sacrificing the ability of the washer to perform at what a consumer expects. I have never seen the water in my drum higher than a couple inches and the drum is HUGE, but never used to capacity. He told me his wife demanded they get a commercial washer because she was so angry about how poorly it cleaned. I feel so scammed and I wish I could have my old agitator back. $100 for the repair call, $150 for the code to be put in and Im on warning that they will see if I try to add water, run out of balance or dont comply with any reason they can void the warranty by just checking the data the washer is collecting on us.

Worst Air conditioner brand I have ever come across. My personal experience
Worst Air conditioner brand I have ever come across. My personal experience with Whirlpool Air Conditioner is not encouraging. I have used almost all brands of AC but found that the quality of Whirlpool AC is not worth recommending. Please stay away from Whirlpool. I got one Whirlpool 1.5 Ton Split Air Conditioner (Model 3D Cool Xtreme, 6th Sense Climate Control) at my house about 2 years back. I booked a service request with the Whirlpool’s Authorized Service Centre M/s Western Refrigeration Co., NOIDA as the Air-conditioner was not cooling to the desired level. On the first visit on 20-05-2019, the service engineer advised that the AC was not cooling because the gas had drained and the gas is required to be filled for which there will be a charges of Rs 2500/-. Believing him, I agreed for refilling of the gas at his quoted price. He sent next day some other attendant team for filling the gas. Those attendants revealed that in addition to the gas, two valves are also required to be replaced at an additional cost of Rs 1600/-. Though I had a doubt about the correctness of their diagnosis, there being no option, we paid for valves also. Accordingly, a total of Rs 4100/- was paid by us.However, to our utter surprise, the AC stopped cooling within a couple of days. Hence, the service centre was again informed. The complaint was again attended second time on 04-06-2019 and we were told that they have again refilled the Gas.However, again the result was NIL. The AC was not giving cooling effect. Hence, third time again complain was booked. The first attendant once again advised for only gas filling after thorough examination. He sent an another guy on 20-06-2019 for gas filling who then revealed that the cooling effect is not there because the condenser coil is leaking and the same will have to be replaced at an additional cost of Rs 5500/-.The following important points emerges out of the above:- 1) If there was a condenser coil leaking problem, why it was not disclosed to us when the AC was attended earlier by various Service Teams consisting of various attendants in the process from the same service centre? 2) Whether my all money paid earlier for gas filling and changing of two new valves will go waste due to wrong diagnosis by your technicians?3) Keeping in view the earlier wrong diagnosis, I very much doubt the present diagnosis and feel that this is a ploy to extract more money from gullible customer who lacks technical knowledge. We spoke to the service centre officials up to three four levels on the numbers received from the call centre but after listening the matter they assure to call us back. After no call back from their side, when we try to call them, they do not lift our calls. The above facts clearly bring out the cheating, harassment and looting by the Service Centre under the aegis of the so called prestigious company M/s Whirlpool. The hard earned reputation and trust of the Whirlpool is being impaired by these unscrupulous service centre. No punitive action appears to have been taken by Whirlpool office against the unscrupulous service centre for unfair trade practices. Rather the person from Whirlpool office over call was also trying to coax us to pay some more money to the unscrupulous service centre who has already cheated us and extracted money earlier from us with zero results. My Air Conditioner is totally shut off due to mishandling and misdiagnosis by the service centre. We are acutely suffering due to scorching heat and over and above going through the mental harassment for the last two months. We expected an immediate resolution for the above problem on top priority basis without any further additional cost however despite my number of reminder through their toll free number, mail id etc. the problem still remains unresolved and unattended. It is highly disappointing that despite my writing repeated mails with reminders no senior person from Whirlpool has so far taken cognizance of the grievance and the customer has been left in the lurch to be harassed by the highly inefficient, incompetent and indecisive service centre officials who have miserably failed to address the issue and satisfy the customer.

Hi. We purchased a french doors 32 cubic feet refrigerator from Home Depot in January 2017. Since day one it has not worked correctly. We have dual ice makers and neither one works. The fridge doesnt cool at all! Whirlpool sent out an appliance repair company who said they ordered the parts. Its been 2 months and guess what still no parts on order and still have no refrigerator. So after 45 or more minutes on the phone with them for the millionth time we came to the conclusion that we are stuck with a POS refrigerator! They refuse to swap the fridge out. They said Home Depot would have to swap it and its against their policy. (Thats another complaint department.) We will never recommend a Whirlpool product again. Never buy Whirlpool. They love taking our money and thats where they stop.

On 9/28/16 I purchased 4 new Whirlpool appliances from Orvilles Appliances in Buffalo NY. They were delivered on 11/9/16, the refrigerator was installed. The microwave, dishwasher, and range were not installed until Jan. as my kitchen was being remodeled. Both doors were dented; it took 3 months for Whirlpool to send new doors. After installation water began pouring all over, gallons of it; it took a month to get fixed. The microwave door has a large defect and the surface light does not work; it is still not fixed. Six months later it is still it fixed. I feel like I paid a lot of money for defective appliances. Whirlpool is truly a company that does not stand behind their products; they could care less about their customers. I will never ever do business with Whirlpool again. And Orvilles also refused to help; it was a mistake to shop there.

Im disgusted by both Sears and Whirlpool that I have paid top dollar for my Whirlpool Duet Washer model #WFW9400SW01 (along with the matching Whirlpool duet dryer and 15 floor pedestals) at a cost of over $1,000 for the machine, and hundreds of dollars for the Sears master protection service contract. And 5 weeks after first reporting my washer breakdown and lugging my familys laundry to a ‘local’ laundromat located miles away, I still have no imminent hope of seeing a repair. This is the second time the machine has broken down within 5 years. (Dont even ask me about my nightmare with LG dishwashers!) This time the wire harness is the culprit, a part which apparently has been redesigned & which has been on back order indefinitely - all Sears can tell me is it might be available sometime in October. Is it coming from overseas, I ask. No, Delaware, Ive been told. And it could be as long as into November. While they did tell me I could begin to pursue a replacement machine by the 21st day of non-use, I am so weary of the life energy this appliance nightmare is sapping from me simply to resolve this. And Sears and Whirlpool dont seem at all concerned with the massive amounts of junked appliances winding up in our collective landfill as we all tolerate this built-in obsolescence. Besides the obvious wear & tear issue on my wood floors in replacing the machine (the dryer positioned next to it on a pedestal in my cramped powder room/laundry room will also need to be reinstalled in order to get both to fit properly), what about the consummate waste of having these machines reach the end of their life expectancy after a mere 5 years? I wish Id never upgraded our appliances. In the 7 years since we did, our LG dishwasher has failed innumerable times and been replaced multiple times, until we finally replaced multiple versions with a Bosch (so far, so good); our Kenmore Elite range has also failed and needed repair; my washer has died twice. Shouldnt we expect better when we pay top dollar? And if not Consumer Reports, then why isnt the Attorney Generals Office investigating this clear fleecing of the consumer, Sears policy in which sales people aggressively hound consumers like me into purchasing expensive service contracts, making all sorts of unreliable claims and limited time only price quotes. And then when the consumer actually needs a repair, is treated like Im last in a long line of unhappy customers. Maybe if current embattled Sears CEO Edward Lampert had to face weeks of doing his own familys laundry in a laundromat while he waited for a part on backorder from Sears, he might recognize not only a lot of other people waiting on a Sears part there too. But that while on his watch, the Sears name has eroded big-time as he sacrificed quality in his relentless drive for profits.

We purchased an energy efficient Whirlpool water heater on 10-20-2005. This water heater has been serviced at least if not more than three times. I called for service and the representative was very nice and understanding. He gave us the information to pick up a replacement heater. The complaint is the mess that it made. I have already filed a previous claim with my homeowners insurance for the damage. Compared to others it gets the dishes clean and is easy enough to operate. Like everything else it has more bells and whistles than I want or use. Fill it up, put soap in and punch the desired settings and it does what it is programmed to do. Overall size seems to be like all the other models Ive used. Stainless with buttons on top of door. The top basket/drawer has latches that get tripped allowing the basket to drop down and confusing my wife. Not the best arrangement IMHO. Seems like the spacing of the supports in the bottom basket are off, but that may be due to our plates and bowls shapes.

Whirlpool refrigerator Model #GX5FHDXVY010, freezer on bottom. Ice maker broke within six months of purchase. Made loud noises, would not function to freeze ice. Turned waterline off and now use ice trays like the old days. Shortly thereafter, second unrelated problem started. Drain line started backing up and runs into the bottom of the freezer floor where it freezes into a thin sheet of ice, and then runs onto the kitchen floor. Have had the line cleaned out over and over again. Have been buying fridges for 50 yrs. and have never had this problem. Whirlpool says call a repairman and pay to have it fixed, but it happens over and over again. Whirlpool should come up with a permanent fix and pay to have it fixed. Based on the numerous complaints of this problem, this model needs a recall now.

Despite my claim being submitted within the first 4 months of purchase, Whirlpool would not assist in solving our issue. We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

The original part worked for four years but from the last four months, engineers have tried to change the part and it was a duplicate one every time. It did not last for 15 minutes in front of the engineer. To date, the engineers are still not able to fix my oven so I havent been able to use it for the last four months. Whirlpool Duet washing machine model WFW9500TW03 - Just after the first year of owning this machine, the metal hinge to the door cracked and the door didnt shut properly. It was replaced. After a couple of years, the bearings and drum of this machine failed. The cost for parts and repair were as much as the machine new. After repairs, the machine never ran quietly again. I have called for repair a second time for the same issue and he has confirmed that its the bearings again causing the drum to dislocate and hence, break the belt that I now need to replace. My problem is with Whirlpool for its defective metal in its machines (many complaints on the internet will confirm this). I believe there are enough consumers out there to file a class action lawsuit.

We bought Whirlpool Gold Series on July 6, 2014. Refrigerator, range, microwave & dishwasher. Our refrigerator - we have the repair company out almost every month cause the icemaker was constantly icing up and wasnt making the ice cubes single, would come out all attached to each other. So after arguing with Lowes and Whirlpool we were able to get a different refrigerator in February of 2015. Now in April 2015 we are having trouble with our microwave with the light flickering off and on when we open the door and sometimes it work and sometimes it doesnt. The repair company has been out 3 times for the same problem telling me that where the door closes are 2 latches that when not lined up cause this issue, so the repair company replaced the 2 latches and a month later it started happening again. So they came out and replaced the light socket. Now we will see how long that last. Now for the range which is the AquaLift Self-Cleaning which doesnt clean the oven at all. It was like I was back in the early 1950s, only worse. The baked on grease spots, you cannot get off at all. To me this is false advertising and the stores personnel lied to about all you have to do is pour 2 cups of water in the bottom of the oven, press the self-cleaning button and after 40 minutes of cleaning and letting the oven cool a bit you just have to wipe the oven down with a damp cloth and the oven is clean. Not so much!!!Wish I had all my old appliances back because they were made to work correctly. The new appliances suck for the amount of money you pay for them. So please beware and do research on the appliances you want to purchases otherwise you will get ripped off with no satisfaction for your hard earned money you spent on them. I have always had Whirlpool appliances and have loved them but these new ones we purchased are nothing but junk.

The stove was installed 2-18-17, and its now 4-6-17, still havent been able to use it. Is this really off-gassing or is this what Americans have to contend with now! I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! Its sad that companies today make cheap products!! Built to last... ha!! Well never see those again!!

I just purchased a new Whirlpool 6th Sense hot water tank #333570. This unit is a piece of garbage. Whirlpool should be ashamed at the quality of product they make. This unit came with a bent temperature and pressure relief valve, which required a piece of copper tubing to be bent awkwardly just to remedy the situation. Also, the control box is set at 12 (most other brands are 14, which is common), forcing the gas lines to be re-piped (very expensive). This unit also is extremely noisy, runs really, really hot and is not energy-efficient at all. Shame on me for not researching this product more closely. If youre buying a new hot water tank, steer clear of Whirlpool products.

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.

I have had a $3000 GE Profile fridge for 6 years. It died. Tech says turf it. I bought a whirlpool. Hopefully it lasts longer. These expensive fridges seem to be very undependable. What is a family supposed to do when a refrigerator stops working and repairs take days or weeks? Is there a courtesy fridge for a loaner? They are big and heavy. What a royal pain.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door with the bottom freezer in October 2013. I had one repair done while it was still under the 1 year warranty, but by the time it was 18 months old, it began leaking refrigerant. I was told by the technician that the cost to repair it would be more than the value of the refrigerator, and the chances of the repair lasting more than 6 months were minimal. I had to buy a brand new refrigerator (not a whirlpool this time). I contacted Whirlpool customer service but they were non-sympathetic. Do Not Buy Whirlpool Products - Poor quality and high prices.

Do you think we could have gotten some response other than a worthless sorry. To the Whirlpool CEO when you ever get some kind of compassion please us a real refrigerator that works and has some real room in it. I hate this thing and I hate not having an ice maker that works. A french doors refrigerator that really works would be good. Heres our address **. Please leave it on our front porch. Will be holding our breath. Thanks for your support.

I owned a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for 3 years (a two person household). The repairman just quoted $700 to repair a faulty center hub seal and bearing. This machine was not inexpensive. I expect more from a quality machine. A telephone call to Whirlpool resulted in two ten minute holds while being shuffled between representatives and each representative tried to sell me an extended warranty for another $289. Whirlpool should take full responsibility for this faulty product and not act like a telephone support center located in Eastern Europe. I am not pleased with this (lack of) resolution and do not plan to purchase another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our hous
Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our house August 2013 and we were SO happy to see the stainless steel appliances and we thought Whirlpool was a good brand that our grandparents stood behind for years (they obviously havent bought from them in 50+ years... times must have changed for the worse). Anyway, I got all moved in and was fixing supper and noticed how REALLY dark and greasy the oven was. I could barely see inside because the coating of grime was so thick that it dimmed the light by being so thick over the glass bulb cover. I immediately thought Wow... the past homeowners were nasty and lazy because they have this nice self-cleaning oven and dont even bother to clean it. I noticed it smelled slightly like it had a gas leak somewhere when it was preheating but it cooked the supper okay that night.Because it was hotter than a jungle in NC in the summer heat of August, I decided to wait until winter to use the self-clean... thought it would warm the house as it got rid of the gunk, right? I kept using the dark coated oven about a total of 25 times and always noticed the faint gas smell at first when it would preheat. I thought maybe it was SO dirty that the oven seal wasnt working right and since it was now November, I figured I should just run the self clean cycle and maybe it would make it run properly as it was REALLY dirty and the igniter or something may actually be clogged. I figured it would probably stink a little at first when it started the cleaning cycle because of the excess build up but it needed cleaning so bad that I cleaned it... The smoke alarms started to go off, we just disconnected them for peace and quiet... Our throats and eyes were burning and it smelled more like plastic burning... FOR HOURS it was horrible! The walls and the Terracotta tile floor were flaming hot!!! The next morning the house actually smelled like it had caught on fire and it stayed that way for weeks! The oven was very clean inside after the cleaning BUT the oven is now totally useless! It will not stay lit. I have never been able to use it again as it will not come up to temperature... just clicks over and over and hisses trying to light. I tried again today and it started LOUDLY hissing like a big open gas pipe was on in there and I got scared and cut it off. THANK GOD it went off!I have been reading similar complaints about Whirlpool Gold ovens for a couple hours now and I am truly scared to use this oven now. After reading the comments of the hundreds of dollars it will take to get it to bake again and how most people STILL had the same reoccurring issues and NO help from Whirlpool... Well I decided to share my experience in hopes that if anyone else is reading this... and I am sorry to say... Well... you are not imagining the problem either. We never read these blogs like this BEFORE we buy or use our appliances, only AFTER something scares the crap out of you and you look for a recall. If I could afford to sue Whirlpool for a replacement then I would. I wish everyone could afford to sue Whirlpool for their unresolved issues that have cost them unnecessary expenses due to the customer loyalty we have had for Whirlpool as we used to be taught You get what you pay for and Do not go with an off brand because those companies go out of business when you need them to repair or service stuff. Am I the only one that was taught this? Times are very hard now and the economy is getting worse and now we have to be screwed by big companies like Whirlpool getting rich off of hardworking people and they do not care enough o help pay for the poor workmanship issues they are making. Shame on you, Whirlpool. I am taking the rest of the day to read reviews on a replacement stove so I can get this ticking time-bomb out of my new home. I too have read enough about the same oven that others have had worse memories than I did. I will not waste anymore of our hard-earned money on Whirlpool ovens. You have to decide what is good for you....

Warning to anyone considering this washing machine. It has actually destroyed some of my clothing by twisting and tying legs and arms of pants and shirts tightly together and giving the clothes a beating rather than a reasonably careful washing. Rubbing your clothes on a rock at the bank of some river would be preferable to using this machine. It does not provide enough water to wash clothing without abusing it. I blame myself for assuming that no company would attempt to put a product that performed like this on the market. I bought this machine at hhgregg.

If I could give no stars I would. I own the Whirlpool Cabrio, which I bought only 2 years ago. Im on my 3rd service call. They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later its the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the deep water mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes arent clean. If I dont spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleachI dont use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I dont put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - its NOT, its the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I dont know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they dont stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Dont buy this washer if its still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isnt available (which I dont see on their site) I still wouldnt buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I waiting for my extended warranty to get back to me and then I have to make an appointment for the appliance company to come and fix it. This is crazy. All these days and I cant do laundry. This is not acceptable!

Whirlpool fridge (model no ETILFKXKS) - I purchased this fridge from a very good dealer (Trail Appliances, Edmonton). Within a year, I had my first of the frozen water drain from top freezer to water pan. Of course, I blamed myself - too much warm food, blah blah. Now this is happening more and more often. The fridge is kept at number 1 of 5 for coldness. All foods are left on counter to cool, but three times over my Christmas holidays this year when I swore I would throw this fridge in the garbage - the drain froze, water all over the fridge, food having to be removed and placed in other peoples fridges, blah blah. Now it did it again this weekend! There are only two living here. I work all day and no one even opens the fridge much and again this happened. Im really sad that such a faulty product (too much insulation hiding the drain pipe behind the fridge and it must be much too small in diameter; otherwise, it wouldnt freeze up). Talking about work. We have two fridges there with 50 people using them all day and they run perfectly for the last 8 years that I have been there. So I think it indicates that my fridge is faulty. Im so sad too because I dont have the money for a new one. I just turned 65 and am about to retire (single mom). You would think that a $1,300 fridge would last longer than 6 years!

I purchased a top load Whirlpool Washer and Dryer in April 2021. When it was installed I commented about how noisy it was. I was told it was because it was empty, but it will be much quieter once you put in a load of laundry. That did not make any difference. I called Whirlpool customer service and explained I had just purchased it less than a week ago and it appeared to be very noisy. I was told they could send someone out, but if they determined there was not a problem I would be charged a service call. I said the machine is not even a week old why would I be charged a service call shouldnt this be a warranty issue. Again I was told there would be a service call charge.I am completely baffled at the customer service response. This is the first and only time I called. I contacted the store where I purchased both the washer and dryer and was told it should not be that loud, this is the first time anyone has complained about the noise level and there should not be charge. Whirlpool has terrible customer service and I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again because of the customer service. I have purchased numerous appliances in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly. If I could return both the washer and dryer I would not hesitate. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet washing machine October 2010. When I first got the washing machine, it shook the house (new stick built house) when it was on the spin cycle. They had a repair man come out to tell me that there was nothing wrong with it, it was fine as it was. We thought it was ridiculous, but we are young and didnt know better. He also told us we should fill up the washing machine more than what we where because the clothes wash better when its packed. Big mistake on our behalf! The washing machine has ate thousands of dollars worth of clothing. We did what we where told, so we thought we were doing something wrong. Little did we know we were doing nothing wrong. It was the machine. Then a sock found its way to the drainage field which let water pour out of the washing machine throughout the laundry room and going to the rest of the house. What a mess. We called and they found the problem and removed the sock. Still didnt fix the damaged clothing issue. I called them 1 year and 7 days after we got it and Whirlpool still wont cover their product. They said they where sorry they couldnt help. Well couldnt and wont are two separate things. Its a shame they wont stand behind their product after I bought over $6,000 appliances from them. You think theyd be a little more compassionate to their customers after spending that much money? Now you know how they treat their customers. Dont buy Whirlpool. They (Whirlpool, Maytag, etc. ) are maybe cheaper than their competitors, but its probably worth the extra money if you know theyll stand behind their product. Very unhappy customer!

Whirlpool approved repairman came and knew exactly the problem because he was aware of this being a consistent issue with Whirlpools. He contacted Whirlpool and they quickly agreed to send repair kit for FREE. Took 2 wks for parts to arrive, and neglected to send along required tool/gauges for repair to occur. I called Whirlpool C.S. and they claimed they knew nothing and said our fridge was on no problem list. I had repairman call Whirlpool and they claimed appropriate tool/gauges are no longer available! I have a Whirlpool 33 inch wide Side by Side refrigerator. WRS311SDHM. This is the worst refrigerator I have ever had. Temperatures are inconsistent. It is less than a year old. Initially, I stored the big container of spring mix lettuce on the bottom shelf of the refrig as it wouldnt fit in the crisper draw. The temp setting in the refrigerator was set to ideal. Oddly though, in the freezer, ice cubes were melting and refreezing creating a massive frozen block. So, I raised the temperature in the refrigerator, but kept the freezer at coldest. However, I noticed that when I set the refrigerator to a warmer setting, ice cream became cold soup despite the coldest setting.I called Whirlpool and a service technician from Georges Appliance in New Providence, NJ came to my home (of course I had to take half a day off from work). He stuck a thermometer in the freezer and said, its working fine. While at my home he called Whirlpool who said that if lettuce isnt kept in the crisper drawer it will freeze (silly woman, dont you know that?) and ice cream will get soft in the freezer if the temp in the refridge is warmer than ideal. So, it seems I can have lettuce or ice cream, but not both. Okay, so I put the temp back to ideal, bought smaller packs of lettuce that would fit in the crisper draw and called it a day. Nope....lettuce and anything else in the crisper draw freezes too. Wilted, soggy lettuce is so nice in a salad and frozen baby carrots can break your teeth.I have been on the phone with Whirlpool executive dept several times. They offered to have another service company come out to look at the refrigerator. This repair company would not give me a 4 hr time frame until the day before the actual service call. This might be okay if you work from home or are retired, but this is not my case. I opted to not have them come. This is my last Whirlpool product. Since KitchenAid and Jenn Air are owned by Maytag/whirlpool, my other options are LG, Samsung, GE or Sub Zero.

Still does it. Also when this happens the water dispenser will no longer dispense continuous water. It stops after three ounces. Now they want to charge me for a service call and parts to correct a problem that is obviously built into the unit. There should be a recall on this. Whirlpool should correct the problem free of charge as it is obviously an electronic design issue. Upgrade the necessary control board and replace it. I have a roughly 2-year-old 30 Whirlpool electric range that has just got out of warranty 4 or 5 months ago. It has been a great stove up until the last couple of months. We have had 4 incidents where the burner would shoot up to high on its own even with the knob down at medium or low. 4 times in the last month, it has come close to catching fire while we were cooking. I have contacted Whirlpool about this issue and have yet to get a response.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio 8.8 cubic ft Electric Dryer with Steam Cycles (Chrome Shadow) Energy Star Model WED8500DC and Whirlpool Cabrio 5.3 cubic ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer with Steam Cycle Model WTW8500DC and have had no issues at all, only personal issues, such as me being 54 tall and cant reach the bottom of the washer tub to take out all my clothes, so my husband helps, he is 5 9 tall and can reach in it fine, so we do laundry together now! We have washed very small loads to large loads such as, bedding sets without any issues at all. We love the gorgeous look as well. We have only owned these since November 2015... so about 4 months now, but we are completely satisfied! We have always owned Whirlpool, our old set we bought in 1998 and they finally gave out in 2015! Whirlpool for life for us!

This has been a good washer. You shouldnt be pushing me to buy a new one so quickly.

Second diagnosed with similar same issue less than 2 years later on same model fridge. This is a rip-off from the company, absolute nonsense that fridge lasts on average 1.5 years with the price sticker over 2500$... Someone should put them out of business!!! This is scam not fridge!!! Stay away from this company, they are not what they use to be, NAME AND QUALITY IS GONE.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.

It washes with a couple of shakes back and forth and when my clothes are ready they seem like they were dipped in water. Not clean. It has all these fancy buttons for all different types of cycles and loads and they all seem to wash the same. As a mother of 3 kids I want my kids to put on CLEAN clothes. We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 1.5 years ago and it has already died. Repairman need to replace the control board which had gone out. $450.00 to replace that piece, but could not guarantee that it would be the only problem. The motor or some other issue may have caused the board. This machine was purchased at Home Depot on sale and at $450.00 to repair would be approximately 70% of the original price. It will be cheaper to buy a new one rather than fix this one. We were not happy with this machine in the first place. It leaves the clothes stained with a white powder that never rinses off. The cycle time is very long, up to an hour to wash a load. The clothes are still very wet once the cycle is finished, which of course increases the drying time. I cannot recommend Whirlpool top loaders after my experience with this machine.

Love my new Whirlpool Refrigerator! Works well and no problems for the last year. Filters are pricey but found some at Lowe’s cheaper. Whirlpool stays in touch frequently emailing information about their products, some useful some not applicable. Would I buy this refrigerator again? Yes, I love the ice maker, it is quite large (enough to fill a small cooler), and the convenience of crushed or cubed ice is nice. We purchased a new Whirlpool in June 2017. About 3 months ago it began making foul tasting ice cubes and now they are so bad we cannot use them. Called Whirlpool for help solving the problem and they basically told me there was no fix. It was my bad water. My water is wonderfully pure and good tasting. It only is bad from the ice in, what I consider a new fridge. They did want to make an appointment for a tech to come out and check it. I dont know why when they told me it cannot be fixed. I bought a brand new Whirlpool fridge early June with the extended warranty
I bought a brand new Whirlpool fridge early June with the extended warranty to have it shipped on my moving day on June 18. The team delivered and installed the fridge and told me to wait 3 hours before plugging it. I went and spent over 300$ in groceries only to find out the fridge does not work. I waited 24 hours, still not working. I had to wait until Monday to call the customer service because it is closed on weekends. I had to throw out all my food and order food all weekend which incurred an extra 200$. I called Whirlpool on Monday and was told a technician would only come on June 30th. 8 DAYS LATER!!!!I did some research and found a certified whirlpool technician myself who was able to come the next day only to find out the fridge has no gas and this is an assembly defect - WHIRLPOOLS FAULT. Whirlpool would have to send me a brand new fridge (These fridges are NOT TESTED?!). I was asked to call to arrange the exchange, I asked for compensation as I have already spent over 500$ and now would have to wait another week with no fridge and they refused to compensate....They told me I would get a call in the next 48 hours to let me know when I would get the new fridge and 3rd day later, still no call.I received a call on Friday to tell me they approved the exchange...Really now and would have to wait another week. That is over 2 weeks with no fridge, I sent a private message last week to Whirlpool, no answer, I spoke to customer service twice, they cant help me and do not want to compensate me. I have never been so frustrated and mistreated by a supposedly « reputable » company? WORST PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years
We bought all Whirlpool Gold Appliances when we re-did our kitchen 5 years ago -- fridge, d. washer, oven, glass top stove, and microwave. Recently I noticed a pool of water in front of the fridge. Turns out there is a sticky grommet problem that prevents moisture from draining into a pan on the inside back bottom of the fridge. Whirlpool will send you a replacement part that is totally different than the original poor design (a long hose affair) BUT wont pay for the labor to put it in unless the unit is less than 2 years old.I watched a video showing how to do it, but it looks pretty tricky and involved plus risky because you can break the drain pan in the process. Spoke with a Whirlpool rep and a supervisor -- both admitted to a quality problem but got nowhere on the labor. Theyre sending the part, and the supervisors supervisor is supposed to give me a call, so well see if they eventually do the right thing and cover the labor. I mean cmon... the parts obvious a bad design, or they wouldnt be sending a totally redesigned part! Covering the labor only if its two years old or less? Even the Whirlpool techs online are saying the problem happens after about 4 years! The grommet gets sticky and wont drain due to heat from the compressor, and that takes time to happen. Ill update this when I hear back from Whirlpool.

NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

We were gone for 12 days, now the icemaker has stopped and all food is frozen. I called - they will send a tech for a minimum of $95. Read how many trips are usually made before a problem is solved. Near 3 years ago we purchased this side by side going by how good Whirlpool products are supposed to be. Recently the bottom freezer started frosting up and not clearing. Tried all suggestions in the manual. Could not find any information online. The manual was useless. I went online to Whirlpool support 3 different times asking for help. Never got a reply. The racket it made was driving us crazy. It short cycled since it was frosting up. Set up an appointment online. They got that correct and responded quickly. Go figure. The tech came was very nice & professional. No warranty. Find out they only provide a one year warranty. That is absolutely nuts. A refrigerator should last 15 years with no major problems. Should not have needed a $500.00 extended warranty for a $1,300.00 refrigerator. Turned out 2 components needed replacing. Cost just over $400.00. Now were worried it is going to fail again in who knows how long. Whirlpool used to be a respected brand. Never again will we buy a Whirlpool product. 1 year warranty show you they know how cheap they are building their products.
