Model no. WTW4950XW is a piece of pure junk. Bought this machine 2yrs, 4 months ago. I just replaced it and to be sure not with another Whirlpool. The machine went out. Just quit. Nothing on control panel (computer). Didnt call for service tech as this machine has been crap since I bought it. Tried to return it but couldnt after I first used it. It would only give hot water on 2 cycles and that was on bulk or delicate. The regular cycle would only give warm but actually it was cold. Not enough water for 6 pieces of small clothes on regular. More water on delicate. Didnt wash very well. Clothes were not really as clean as they should have been. I used to only buy Whirlpool appliances but have now switched. They are bilking the consumer with subpar machines.

Bought side by side in 2010 and after the first 3 mth the ice maker jammed up. Found out the dispenser door was not working right so it was change. But lo and behold the dame thing jammed up again within 3 weeks and the door is working. I will never buy WHIRLPOOL AGAIN. I hope they go out of Business. They are selling junk and they do not care. Made in American. Pack your bags Whirlpool. You are no longer needed.

Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I have never had such terrible service nor experienced an appliance that operates so poorly. I am surprised there are not more complaints with this problem. Purchased from ABT because of their reputation for customer service.

The cast iron grates are very heavy and have to move one side at a time. I Cant control low heat. Have to use back burner only. Then Crap builds up on back console. The oven grates are too wide apart, Have To supplement with racks from my other stove oven.

Called into Whirlpool to get clearance for a replacement and corporate says no to the replacement because that is normal. Thats BS! If that is normal DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL!! BTW... The bottom of the drawer collects water and freezes and then overflows onto the floor. There is no drain pan under the refrigerator. Then the freezer collects frost over the food, and walls of the freezer. I have to unplug the refrigerator and let it thaw and then plug it back in. This process is repeated every week. I have had it less than 2 years!

I bought a whirlpool microwave on August 8th. The microwave was missing parts. I called whirlpool. They said they were sending me the parts, mind you this was not a floor model. So 2 weeks later pass I received no bracket No screws. I called whirlpool oh yes we got the address wrong. Resent it, just one screw no bracket and I needed 2 screws. I called again oh yes we did get the order for the bracket too but you have to pay $7. I said ok no problem. Can you do fast shipping? They said sure. I called Monday August 25th. They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.

Whirlpool refrigerator model GX5F-IDXVB07; S/N K23918029; 24.8 cu ft purchased for almost $2,000 on 1/7/2014. Before it was four months old I had spoken with store about it frosting up the freezer drawer several times. Finally found it wasnt level and drawer was hanging. Ok figured it was ok, even though I had other issues with it. I took the cosmetic issue of false height on door, which made it seem larger and drastically size reduced produce drawers which made it necessary it actually cut off celery two inches to fit in drawer and door nooks being so narrow that they only fit 3 small condiments in them on the left door and its a trick to fit thing in the right, but since they are deeper can fit a little more. Ok thats my fault for not actually measuring. But who takes condiment jars shopping? The killer is that a leak in the ice maker, lets water/ice to build up under the ice maker on floor of freezer drawer. It then freezes there and if we dont take out the drawer and remove the ice chunks by hand it thaws and runs out in the floor about once a week. The leak began to be worse in August 2014. I understand it will need repair. What makes me really upset is the refrigerator is supposedly a very good brand and I have had so many issues with it that I curse it regularly. A two thousand dollar fridge with this many issues and I am stuck with it. I guess I should have contacted company before warranty went out, but we would get it past a problem for a while, then it would come back. I am just sick that I ever bought it in the first place! I hate it and will never buy or advise anyone else to buy from Whirlpool again. Quality is awful. Looks good on surface, stinks for quality.

I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. Will not EVER buy a hot water heater from Whirpool or Lowes ever again. Whirpool should stick to washing machines!

This has been our second Whirlpool Hot Water Tank in our home in the past 14 years. The first was installed by the builder, when it went out we purchased a larger capacity one from Lowes. It was professionally installed and now, after the extended warranty coverage period is expired, its expired as well. I would think you should be able to get more than 7 years out of not one, but two Whirlpool hot water tanks. No wonder they are no longer manufacturing hot water tanks - they sucked at it. Also, if you do have one, you have to get parts from Whirlpool and pay $30 shipping. No thanks, for the cost of parts to replace everything youre better off getting a whole new unit.

If you come across any problem or issue with washing machine, the service person will come and will have a typical vouge glance of the washing machine.. and the inner bearing problem etc. He will arrange a call with his boss.. who also tells the same thing… and collects Rs 450/- as visiting charges and goes. They ask you to bring the Washing machine to their showroom... on account of repair they do all nonsense and do replace some parts which are not at all required...*** Instead of going to the show room first, if you take second opinion from any local repair technician... you will be shocked to know that hardly it is very minimum problem like loose connection, biting of wires by rats or other problem which would just resolved in front of us..But certainly not the Big issue as these show room service mafia does.. I have encountered the same brought the same to the notice of the Care Manager Mr.**.. But no proper answer... One should understand that there is big mafia kind of activity just betraying the customers.. Please beware of the frauds of the Whirlpool Washing machine Servicing Team..

Our Cabrio washer often ties clothes into (unwashed/still dirty) knots. They are so bad that it takes several minutes to untangle and then the load has to be rewashed. It also has to be set for hot water when you want cold, and vice-versa. I am unable to do that for the rinse cycle, so all our clothes are rinsed in hot water. It doesnt even get the clothes clean, when it doesnt tie them up. Ive gotten used to it sounding like the space shuttle taking off and managed to shut off most of the annoying beeps. The dryer is almost as bad, it seems to take a long time to dry clothes, and they come out very wrinkled, even on the wrinkle guard. The finish isnt even good on either one. It scratches very easily, and scratches start to rust almost immediately. This is quite possibly the worst piece of junk my family has ever owned, except maybe for an unfortunate experience with a 77 Dodge Aspen. We bought this set thinking we were paying enough that we were getting the best. Never again!

Purchased Whirlpool refrigerator at Lowe’s. Refrigerator would never get cold enough, so I exchanged with a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator. After installation coffee was spilled behind refrigerator. I was unable to pull refrigerator out from wall to clean coffee spill from behind. When checking with Lowe’s on the 35th day, I was informed that Lowe’s 30 days warranty had expired and I would have to work directly with Whirlpool.I discovered it was very hard to communicate with Whirlpool; there was a problem that they only had on file the first refrigerator I purchased not the one I kept. The Whirlpool service rep did not seem very cooperative but with insistence they told me they would change my information to the correct model and serial number and a repair order was sent to a local service shop. The problem with not being able to roll the refrigerator out from the wall is that Whirlpool had changed their wheels to a tri-wheel support and there was not enough height on the single front wheel to lift the refrigerator to clear the screw down leveling stops on each corner. The service rep had no solution for the problem and had to call the Whirlpool service. He indicated he never was able to get assistance from that department. I told him I would talk to them as the consumer but they refused to discuss the matter with me, so I gave the phone back to the service tech. Whirlpool told the service tech to order replacement wheels of which I knew this would not resolve the problem. After two weeks, the replacement wheels arrived, the service tech installed them and as I expected they did not resolve the problem. I then requested the service tech to remove the rubber from the stops on the corner to allow for the additional required clearance and this solution worked. This is a very poor design for Whirlpool, but I accepted the results. Two weeks later I receive a phone call from the service business and they tell me that Whirlpool did not have the refrigerator model/serial number they worked on. Whirlpool was not willing to resolve the problem I had with them initially and the service business would have to bill me directly and was not covered under the warranty. At this point I lost it and informed the service business I resolved this model/serial number with Whirlpool before. Whirlpool gave them the authorization to work on the refrigerator and they would need to collect the fees from Whirlpool. I have purchased my last Whirlpool appliance mostly because Whirlpool makes it very difficult or refuses to talk to the consumer and it appears the quality is no longer there. Will Whirlpool become the next Kodak? With this kind of service, people will just quit buying from them.

This should not be happening on a new washer. We will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!!! The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

We bought all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in February of 2017. The French Door Refridgerator MRF993FIFM we purchased was a large side by side with a water/ice dispenser and freezer on the bottom. The concept of it is great, as it is very roomy. The problem is with the product quality and usability. We are a family of four with the youngest being twelve. We do not have to worry about rough little hands anymore. That being said there is a crack in the back of the plastic casing of one shelf, a crack in the freezer door, the seal doesnt connect on the dispenser side door, the slide out shelf in the freezer doesnt stay on its rollers and the main ice maker stopped working (which never worked properly either). Also, and this is what bothers me the most, the glass on one of the shelves is sealed down so it cannot be cleaned under. But there is a small slit going all the way around that separates it from the plastic. Food is still seeping underneath and creating mold with no way to clean underneath! This was not an inexpensive refrigerator and we were not prepared to have these kinds of problems after a year. We are very unhappy with the quality of this product.

OMG. We had just purchased a house in Clermont Fl. At Appliance Direct on Citrus Tower, worse experience. Imagine my husband and myself had recently retired. Therefore we wanted to make sure whatever we purchased was to last since its not easy to replace anything on our fixed income. A few mos later the ice maker would make noise in the middle of the night and would not fill up completely. 1 yr it stopped making ice completely. We went to Appliance Direct only to find out that nothing could have been done. We purchased the extra warranty for approx 391 dollars. We then were told by Whirlpool that we would have to wait 60 days. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

Got a simple error code E6 F2 on the display of my oven (only 8 years old). Called Whirlpool to schedule a repair. They told me there were no available dates for one of their techs to fix my unit. They referred me to 3 outside companies that wanted to charge me over $100 just to come out and take a look. One of the phone numbers to the companies they referred me to was a wrong number. I asked them to tell me what the error code means and they said they couldnt tell me with any degree of accuracy. (What use is an error code, then??!!) I checked all over the internet and different websites say it might be a control board (over $300 for the part) issue. But several techs also said that it is a crap shoot and could also be a Temperature Sensor. I called back Whirlpool to see if they could get me a deal on the part. But, guess what? They dont sell it anymore...in fact they dont even sell their own parts at all!! And, they transferred me to some outside company that refused to even give me part numbers, to avoid me shopping for a better deal (which I did end up finding on Amazon after number 6 below). I called back Whirlpool and after getting transferred around to 2-3 different people and wasting about an hour I finally got someone who finally wanted to just give me whatever decent service they could and they finally got me the part numbers of the 2 different control boards (Main Control Unit and Sister board that controls the locking mechanism, $367 and $140 respectively). Now I am faced with paying an Appliance Repair person over $500 for what seems to me is a BIG FAT LEMON of an appliance due to the sheer number of unsatisfied people that are having the same issue, have had it fixed, and had the error just return again. THUS.... WHIRLPOOL AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR PRODUCTS JUST SUCK!! AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE! THE LEAST THEIR COMPANY COULD DO IS TRY TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM, NOT EXACERBATE IT BY GIVING SHADY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REFUSING TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM!!!

I bought my topload washer 2 years ago along with a dryer. The past month, the washer started sounding like an airplane, ready to take off, whenever the spin cycle was on. Then, it started to not start at all on certain cycles or would start to pump water in and then stop suddenly. I had a repair man in today, and it was not good news. He told me that he sees this a lot, especially with the Whirlpool washers and it is costly. The bearings are shot and will cost close to $500 for parts (alone), not costing the price to have it repaired. So now, I have called Whirlpool. The people there are very friendly and sympathetic. But even though I went as high as the supervisor (the highest authority I could speak to), he told me my washer is not on the recall list! I asked what it took to get it on one. Basically, my complaint was filed and end of story. Well, not quite. The supervisor was kind enough to give me the address for the Head Office for Whirlpool Canada. So people, start writing into this address and bombard them with your frustration: Whirlpool Executive Office, 200-6750 Century Avenue, Mississippi, Ontario L5N 0B7. If you have spoken to Whirlpool, ask for your reference number pertaining to your case and include it in your letter along with your phone number. In the meantime, I will be writing a lengthy letter; and I also went out today and bought another washer! Yes, it was not a Whirlpool, and I will never have another Whirlpool appliance in my home. And I will steer anyone away from this brand name. Good luck to all and start writing!

I purchased my new washing machine in September 2011. When I removed the clothes from the washer after the first wash, I noticed that there was soap on several of the items. I ran them through another rinse and spin cycle, and there was still soap on several items. In an effort to avoid this problem, I no longer use the soap dispenser tray, and use the bulky cycle to get more water in the tub. Like most of the others, the clothes are tangled and stretched from one side of the tub to the other. Also, it takes 1 hour and 36 minutes to run a complete cycle. The manager of Sears tells me, that because of government regulations, that in a few years, you will not be able to buy any other type of washer. I purchased this machine, because it was highly recommended by Consumers Report magazine. I filed a complaint with them eight days ago, but have not had a response.

The Whirlpool water heater I bought 2 years ago at Lowes has had continued problems with its thermocouple causing the water heater to shut down. At first I would have to relight it about every 2 weeks, now I had to do this everyday. I was going to replace the thermocouple until I read numerous sites explaining that several people did this and experienced the same problems.

I was excited to have an energy efficient washing machine and chose the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader. I truly wish I had read reviews rather than trust the salespersons advice. It does not clean clothes properly at all. They come out smelling dirty and are covered in white goo, even when the machine has just been cleaned. Stains never come out despite all of my efforts. Now I have water leaking out of the bottom as it fills. Not impressed at all. What a giant waste of money.

I purchased an Electric Whirlpool Aqualift convection range in November of 2012. This product is garbage! The oven doesnt work well (temperature is always off), the Agualift cleaning method doesnt work well. You have to self-clean to clean it. The most troubling problem is that just after a year of owning it, the finish on the control panel started to crackle. I called Whirlpool, and all they can do is send me a replacement part for which I have to pay for and have installed. My last GE range lasted over 15 years. This range is garbage from day 1. Hate to see what it will look like in another year or if it will be working at all. BEWARE - DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

I really like my new 5 burner gas double oven gas range made by Whirlpool. Except for 1 minor flaw where the backsplash panel warped at the beginning and was promptly replaced by whirlpool I have had no problems with my range, love having 5 burners and a double oven. Plus the left front burner has a much bigger burner with higher btu which helps water come to a boil way faster than any other ranger I have ever had. That is a real nice feature and I really like having 2 ovens, When cooking on an average day for my small family there is no need to heat up the big oven and the little oven is just the perfect size to bake 1 or 2 dishes. And on holidays when I am cooking for more people or many more dishes I have the capacity to cook more items.

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

I have been told that I will receive the part in 5-7 days. Today, Aug. 27, I called see what really happen with my part. Well I have been transferred from a department to another. I waited over an hour on the phone. No employee can find my order in the system and hey keep on telling me that I did not order! In the end, the order have been found. They told me that the part has been in the back order and I will receive it on 9/12/2014 - 3 weeks away adding up to 4 mo since I order and my credit card was charged. I cancelled the order> I really do not want to deal with Whirlpool ever again. I am happy to pay for a new dryer - some other brand and put in the garbage the Whirlpool - for a lint catcher and bad customer service.

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio in November 2009. I am just four months shy of the two-year mark and it is dead! I paid a lot for the machine because I thought it was worth the investment. It was not mistreated in any way! The problem is in the computer part of the machine.Everyone knows that to have a repair person come out is costly in itself, add to that repairs and parts, and it isnt worth it to fix an appliance most of the time. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. Never. I could have bought three cheap machines for this one Whirlpool, and had a couple of backups in the event that one quit on me! When my dryer died my wife and I decided to get both a new washer & dryer. I kick myself for two reasons. My 15-year-old washer which worked fine I replaced, and I didnt check reviews before buying. What a mistake. The eco-friendly Whirlpool washer designed to save energy doesnt clean close, my towels are the worse. Coming out of a shower and using a freshly washed towel to dry off and it smelling like it had never been washed tears it for me. I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove model #WFG540H0AH from Sears in March 2103. Since that time, the oven has repeatedly broken. After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. Whirlpool at no time addressed that a part on the stove was deemed defective.

Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? I DONATED my working fine set to a dog rescue and am now stuck with a brand new machine that works PERFECTLY HORRIBLY. So who is watching you Whirlpool???

After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. Another person with problems called this a giant Whirlpool paperweight and he is so right! I received delivery of a Cabrio WTW7800XW3 washer on December 17, 2011. I had an issue (stopped in the middle of the cycle and flashed the letter “F” on the control panel) with it on January 2nd. I called and scheduled service. I had unplugged the machine and a few days later I replugged it and it started to work, so I cancelled the service call. In March, the problem started again. It just adds a little bit of water and then stops. Since then I have had repairmen out 6 times with 8 new parts installed and the washer still doesnt work. Now, the control panel won’t work. Whirlpool refuses to replace the machine. The repairman says these are the worst machines (any of the ones that are top load and have a clear top) he has ever seen and that I should buy an extended warranty. He says the bearings in the tub wear out among other things. On one of the repair visits, the serviceman found a chewed up pair of baby pajama pants. The machine makes a really loud noise like a jet engine taking off whenever it spins and the clothes are not clean. Whirlpool says that the warranty does not cover replacement of a defective machine. I have since researched the machine and have discovered that there have been problems with this line of machine for years. So, why are they still selling them? I am hoping for a class action suit. The company should stand by their products. I will never purchase a Whirlpool (or any other brand manufactured by Whirlpool) product again. I have had the machine for 4 months and it has been usable for about 2 of them.

The only thing cheaply made is the push latch on the dryer. Both are pricey for what you get, I thought, though they were the cheapest Lowes offered. We have had the pair for a little over a year. So far no real problems, though we really do not like the latch door. You have to slam the door to get it to close. I purchased the Whirlpool Duet washing machine October 2010. When I first got the washing machine, it shook the house (new stick built house) when it was on the spin cycle. They had a repair man come out to tell me that there was nothing wrong with it, it was fine as it was. We thought it was ridiculous, but we are young and didnt know better. He also told us we should fill up the washing machine more than what we where because the clothes wash better when its packed. Big mistake on our behalf! The washing machine has ate thousands of dollars worth of clothing. We did what we where told, so we thought we were doing something wrong. Little did we know we were doing nothing wrong. It was the machine. Then a sock found its way to the drainage field which let water pour out of the washing machine throughout the laundry room and going to the rest of the house. What a mess. We called and they found the problem and removed the sock. Still didnt fix the damaged clothing issue. I called them 1 year and 7 days after we got it and Whirlpool still wont cover their product. They said they where sorry they couldnt help. Well couldnt and wont are two separate things. Its a shame they wont stand behind their product after I bought over $6,000 appliances from them. You think theyd be a little more compassionate to their customers after spending that much money? Now you know how they treat their customers. Dont buy Whirlpool. I ordered a washer dryer combination through Whirlpool. I was given a delivery date 2 weeks out. Whirlpool employees must be doing their laundry very sparingly if they think that this would not put a strain on a household. But I was willing to wait. I asked the date and they wouldnt give it to me. A week later they called with the date and I asked the time. Again they wouldnt give it to me. However they said they would give me the time the night before. They then called with the time, which was during work hours. I told them I would be unable to do this during work hours and they gave me the only other optional date, also during work hours. I finally agreed and took a 1/2 personal day. When I arrived home. I received a phone call from Whirlpool that they will not be delivering my washer/dryer unit at all and to pick a different date. I canceled altogether.UPDATED ON 02/24/2016: I have worked hard to not get upset at companies. However I feel that this is an especially poor company and I cant remain silent anymore. I bought a Duet Washer and dryer over the phone with Whirlpool. It took 3.5 weeks for it to get delivered because Whirlpool kept cancelling. Each time, I took a 1/2 personal day so that I could meet the delivery people within their 4-hour window frame. On the 3rd attempt, they were finally delivered and set up by the delivery men.During the 2nd time I ever used the product, it stopped working, making a horrible grinding noise. I had to unplug the machine. My husband came home and hes pretty handy. However he was unable to even press 1 button. I had a friend in the repair business come the next day and he was unable to repair it. I called Whirlpool again and they said theyd have a repairman out the next day. They outsourced the job to a local company and Whirlpool sent me a confirmation email with a time and date. Again I took a 1/2 personal day. After hearing from no one, I called the repair company. They said they had no record of me in the system. I cried.I called Whirlpool and was put on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called again. They said my department closed 8 minutes ago and they couldnt take my call. I asked how that could happen considering you began the call 3 hours before that time and would have stayed on hold until I died had I not decided to hang up and try again. Every time previous to this I had been on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.I have been trying to return the product. They tell me that Im unable to because my product is functional. I told them it was in fact not functional, which was about the 3rd time I said this, and they said Ill have to call back 1st thing in the morning. I told them I cant risk any more work time to deal with this poor company. So they put me on hold again and thats where I remain. I am currently going on 27 minutes.

I am writing this complaint because of the very poor service of Whirlpool. My washing machine broke after 1 year of use. Luckily, I was on my 2-year insurance. The wiring fully collapsed and I needed to change the whole drum. I called Whirlpools customer service and they said that they would fix the problem after 2 weeks. They came on the day and found out the problem and ordered a new drum. They said they would fix it up on the 5th of December, and it has already been over 3 weeks. On the 4th of December, Whirlpool called me and said that the item they had ordered for me has been damaged. I am not satisfied by these products because it is only a drum (it cant break that easily). I cannot recommend this company to my friends and family due to the quality of the products and the poor customer service as I was waiting on the phone for almost an hour trying to get through.

I bought a fridge from this company not even 14 months ago. Went away for a week and came home to a fridge and freezer of rotten food. The fridge had died - Im guessing not long after I had gone away by the look and smell of the food and house. I have had nothing but the run around ever since that day. Spoke to this person and then that person. The electrician confirmed that my fridge is completely dead because of the compressor. So they sent a report to Whirlpool and they have now confirmed that I will get a new fridge. Now Im being told that will take 7-14 days. So I have been left with no food whatsoever as well as no fridge. I have two kids and cant even buy shopping for my son to take to school. And now Im being told that I had 9 months left on the warranty for the fridge that died and that’s all I will get on a new fridge. Should I not receive a new warranty for a new fridge? And should they replace my food? Could really do with some feedback on this matter. Please help me.

On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

I bought a new home from DR Horton with Whirlpool appliances. All of the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool which came with a 1 year warranty. After closing on the house and getting in, started the dishwasher for the first time, it started leaking water instantly from the bottom of the unit and spilled all over the floor. Tried to contact the builder/inspector who asked us to contact Whirlpool. Called Whirlpool and I was kept on hold for over an hour before someone answered. The rep was so adamant talking all unrelated things and said that she cannot do anything for another 15 days. After escalating to the supervisor, it was the same response. The service at customer care is so bad with no fix in sight. I am not sure what they are going to do with the appliance and not sure whether they come and fix it or keep me waiting. Very unethical, the way they talk to the customers.

I think the whirlpool washer is a very nice machine. I think it does a good job of cleaning but still has the tub odor problem that a lot of front load machines have. As far as reliability it has done pretty well but I did have to replace the tub bellow and it is only 5 years old. It also makes a lot of noise so it is not a quiet machine at all. The steam option on the washer is a nice feature but not sure how much it does to help clean stuff.

We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December
We bought the Gold Series Whirlpool fridge (Model WRF990SLAM00) in December 2013. A few months after its first repair, (dripping on the top left inside of the fridge), which happened within the first year and was covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, it started to make an incredibly loud whirring sound that kept us up at night. Our bedroom is upstairs and far away from our kitchen, and I had to sleep with earplugs to not hear the noise. We tested the noise on a decibel app and it came in between 66-70. A normal fridge noise level should be around 52 decibels. We had a repairman come out and he replaced a fan even though he told me it wasnt going to fix the problem. Wait, what? After he replaced the fan and the whir continued, we called Lowes extended warranty again, and they sent out a different company: 1-800-Appliance.The second guy replaced two kits and found some issue with the ice maker, which we were not even aware of, but the noise remained, and he then had the gall to say it was a normal noise. If it was normal, wouldnt it have been making that noise the first year we had it? We had 1-800-Appliance come out again and he determined he couldnt fix it, so Lowes sent another guy from the same company, and he replaced the same fan that the first guy replaced, which was clearly not the problem. Three perfectly good fans were wasted. BTW, the repairman who said the noise was normal told us that the fridge had a part that was made to be replaced after purchase because if Whirlpool had the part at the point of sale, the fridge would not meet the Energy Star standards. Hello, lawsuit! After three repairs for the same problem and five visits that did not fix the problem, we were told Lowes would issue us a return order in three days. Finally! Not so fast... one week later, no one called, so I called them and then Lowes denied having told us that! We gave them the name of the person who told us they would take the fridge back, but the woman on the other end said she had no record of that (how convenient) and, despite the California lemon law requiring only three attempts at a repair, they would require yet another attempt by one of their repairmen. She told me that if he determined the noise was abnormally loud and not repairable, then she could contact the manufacturer and go from there. So they sent a guy from the first company out and he wrote down that the fridge was not repairable and was very noisy. He said that should take the fridge back at that point. My husband called Lowes several days later after not being contacted by them and they told him that they need to send a different repairman out from 1-800-Appliance and that only 1-800-Appliance could determine if we could get a refund. If that was true, then why send the other company out? By the way, the second guy sent out by 1-800-Appliance wrote down that the noise was very loud and wasnt fixed by his repair. But the notes Lowes said they received from him didnt say that at all. They told me that he wrote that the noise level was normal. I am starting to think there is collusion between Lowes and 1-800-Appliance. Something very wrong here. So, six visits later and horrible customer service from both Lowes and 1-800-appliance, we are now being told that the repairs need to be 30 days apart from each other before they will issue a return. If the cause of the noise was never actually repaired, then why do we have to wait a month between repairs? We continue to jump through the hoops that Lowes keeps throwing our way, but it is now clear that they have no intention of taking the fridge back. The fridge is less than two years old, and we have the extended warranty. We couldnt take the noise any further because it felt like it was causing hearing loss and after several months of that horrible sound we were both on edge, so we bought an amazingly quiet fridge from Pacific Sales, and they assured us that they would not do to us what Lowes did. Pacific Sales pride themselves with having good customer service. Lowes seems to have taken delight in lying to us, selling us a lemon, and then not righting a wrong. We have moved the loud piece of ** into our garage, and if Lowes continues to change the rules of a return and act in collusion with 1-800-appliance, probably in hopes that we will simply throw in the towel, then at least we dont have to hear that horrible sound in the meantime. If they dont do the right thing and take back the fridge, then we will simply keep calling out a repairman to fix the problem. We have three more years of our warranty, and if Lowes doesnt do the right thing, we will make them pay for this one way or another. Viva la revolucion!!

I was doing a routine refrigerator cleaning and the glass I was cleaning absolutely shattered all over my kitchen. Shards of glass are everywhere including my disposal. I called Whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep. Of course, this is not under warranty. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I could get from her is Sorry, youre disappointed. We can replace that part for $87.71. It has taken me over two hours to clean up all the glass. I wouldnt be upset if I had mishandled the glass, but it broke when I was drying it with a towel! I’m wondering if anyone elses glass shattered in the same fashion.

I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

After only 4 years and taking meticulous care of our Whirlpool Top Mount Refrigerator, the temperature regulator stopped working - and the condenser fan rang constantly. The refrigerator couldnt get below 50, and the freezer vacillated between 17 and 30 degrees. We live in a somewhat remote area and could not find an appliance repair person to look at it. So we had to purchase a new appliance. Needless to say we did not choose Whirlpool!

It has been a rude awakening, that Whirlpool is a substandard company. I have gone through 3 refrigerators under the label Kenmore, Whirlpool & 2 1/2 days ago Maytag. I purchased a Maytag 9 years ago and it is still working fine, and even cools a bit too much. Now mentioned labels are under Whirlpool; Since Whirlpool bought out Maytag in 2006, Whirlpool turned Maytag into a sub standard product company. They are spuming refrigerators with defective thermostats. Just think of it, I am one customer that have had the same issue with 3 REFRIGERATORS UNDER 3 LABELS MANUFACTURED THE WHIRLPOOL. I just called Maytag, and when I tried to make sense of the name of either Daren, Karen or Taren, ** hung up on me. I then called Home Depot online major appliances & ended transferring me to WHIRLPOOL!My Maytag refrigerator was delivered 07/25/17, after less than 24 hours, I had to move the settings to 4 from 3 for the refrigerator. She said that if the refrigerator cools enough at 4 then there is nothing wrong! Nothing wrong! To be substandard, in my book its plenty wrong. They have no business sense nor customer service sense. I will buy another refrigerator or appliance from any Whirlpool labels when hell freezes over! For them to accept substandard parts, probably foreign, it is not acceptable in CA nor the USA. Since; since this is a foreign owned company, I pray they will be a company not doing much business in the USA unless the measure up to our standards. Since; going forward we will make American and Buy American!

Love my new Whirlpool Refrigerator! Works well and no problems for the last year. Filters are pricey but found some at Lowe’s cheaper. Whirlpool stays in touch frequently emailing information about their products, some useful some not applicable. Would I buy this refrigerator again? Yes, I love the ice maker, it is quite large (enough to fill a small cooler), and the convenience of crushed or cubed ice is nice. Problem resolved - This is an update to my previous complaint... The repair man arrived this morning and after resetting the thermostat, the water heater started up again. He explained to me that these new water heaters are super sensitive because of the new designs and systems that are required by the State of California. He said that all brands have to have the same system. He said that the new water heaters dont breathe as well as the old ones. In our case, he suspected that after being installed, there were probably some air bubbles in the pipes which tricked the computer into telling it that there was not enough ventilation, when in fact our ventilation was fine, but that triggered a total shut down! In my previous written complaint, I was really upset because I have not had a shower in 3 days and thought this problem water heater would not be fixed until next week. I was furious! My understanding is that basically the way the new water heaters are designed is not very well and there is nothing we can do because about it they are all the same, unless we want to go to a tankless water heater system which plumbing included would cost $4000.00... so we are stuck and hope this will not happen again!

Whirlpool model N40T91 with FLAME LOCK - first failure was the controller valve only within 9 months of a new installation, replaced sort of free of charge, landlord had to pay ship charges. Days and days without hot water. About 6 months later, pilot failed to stay lit. Landlords maintenance man called Whirlpools Customer Service. They had him jump through hoops and finally told him to press a white reset button on the igniter. Okay, that worked. A few days later, pilot went out again, white button was reset, working again. Recently, and more frequent now, white igniter button keeps popping out, and we keep resetting it and relighting the heater, repeatedly, 4 times in one day.Maintenance man comes and calls Whirlpool Customer Service. They advise him to check this and check that. Everything seems to be in order. They say they will send out a qualified service person to diagnose a potential problem, a charge of $200.00. Maintenance man and landlord say, No thanks. Maintenance man goes to Lowes to buy a different brand model. Guess what? Envirotemp Hot Water Heaters have the same control device as the failing Whirlpool. He reboxed it and took it back and said, No thanks. Ill try to upload the images of the water heaters and controller you should stay away from purchasing. Meanwhile, maintenance man went to Menards and purchased a Richmond model, a well known, and reliable water heater manufacturer.

Whirlpool duet steam
Whirlpool duet steam model: WFW9750WW00Serial: CSY3601165Please see attached the pictures of our washer that was purchased without a top counter balance from HH Gregg in May of 2010. We were told by the extended warranty technician when he came to diagnose the machine on 6/24/13 that the bearing and basket were bad. He ordered the parts and returned on 7/2 to repair the machine. Upon taking it apart, he discovered the top counter balance was missing and was the reason that the bearing and other parts had failed. I will include pictures of the plastic that the counter balance should have been attached to. You can see there are no screw holes or scuffs on the plastic. It was suggested by one of the customer service agents, Kitty in TN, that we remove the counter balance. Per Kitty, Because had it come from the factory like that, it would have walked all over the laundry room and not worked right since the first day. Honestly, we have scuffs all over our walls and my husband just thought the legs needed adjusted or it wasnt sitting properly on the pedestal. We have never owned a front load washer, so we didnt know what to expect. The washer sits in a very tight space under the cabinets, but will walk in the middle of the floor especially before we installed the pedestal. The top counter balance was ordered on 7/2 and we were told it would arrive and be installed today. The technician called me at 10:55AM today and stated the package had not arrived. We are asking Whirlpool for a replacement washer as the one we purchased brand new came from the factory defective. We have been told a solid NO. Upon further inspection of the machine while taking pictures, I noticed that the bottom counter balance is cracked clear through as well. Im attaching pictures of that. I did speak with Laticia in MI. She was VERY nice and more empathetic than the other 6 or so people we have spoken with at Whirlpool customer service. She was professional, helpful and I hope who Whirlpool would want representing their company and brand. We feel Whirlpool sold us a faulty machine and they should replace it. We have been told by them that they are sending the parts as a GOODWILL gesture, and will have the parts installed. Now after the whole inside of it is shot and possibly the motor and boards, thats awesome. We are now an LG/Samsung family. This was our 3rd and last set of appliances from Whirlpool. When the rest of these die, we will replace with another brand. How sad that what once was a great company, and I grew up with my mom and grandma thinking there was no other brand to use beside Whirlpool, now we are left washerless for 3 weeks. They refuse to stand behind a mistake that was made in the factory. Ive read these are made in Germany. Maybe Whirlpool needs to bring jobs back to the US and improve their quality control.

We purchased a Whirlpool water heater from Lowes in 2011. Everything was fine up until June 2015. We got the dreaded 4 flashes. We called for service to come out, that costed us around $300. December 23rd of 15 it goes out again. We called Whirlpool instead of a service company and the part was under warranty. We paid for overnight shipping but because of the holiday it was not guaranteed. We told them we are fine with Sat. delivery. In the meantime we had to cancel a holiday party scheduled at our house the 24th. We waited around all day Sat. for the part to show and nothing. We called Whirlpool to get the tracking number and we find out that the other service rep didnt mark our package for Sat. delivery. I am very close to just buying a new heater. Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband installed, tank filled, no hot water coming through house lines. Called support center several times after trying each recommendation that did not work. They kept saying it was a plumbing problem. My husband is very smart when it comes to electrical and plumbing. He has done numerous repairs to our homes over the last 30 years we have been married. He knows what he is talking about and told the support tech that he believed it was a faulty water heater. She immediately said the units are all tested before they leave the factory. The final step was to remove the nipple that the hot water flows through out of the tank and remove the two black bellows. Now my husband can see directly through the piece but also decides to put his finger through the the open whole on the top of the tank and cannot get his finger through - it is blocked. He gets a flashlight and a screw driver. Puts the screw driver through a thin plate that was blocking where the water should be coming through. He can now actually see the water in the tank. This was the whole problem! So they could not have tested this tank. They did give us a ref number to take parts back to store to replace parts we already bought and cannot use. Its the time and energy on whats suppose to be an easy job that counts. Will not recommend Whirlpool products to anyone and probably will not purchase any in the future. Ours was not as bad as most of the other reviews I read but wanted to advise others who may think about what brand to purchase.
