I bought a Whirlpool WFW9470 Front Loader Washing Machine 11 months ago. The washer appears to complete a wash cycle but leaves the washing wet and with no error message or light. Whirlpool says the machine is not designed for light loads. The technician says washing on a light load will damage the bearing. We had the spin bearing replaced after 8 months. But still, the washing remains wet and the bearing wears out prematurely.

I bought my fridge 6 years ago. 13 months after purchase I had to replace the compressor. Last month I had to replace the water drip pan. Now the fridge is knocking and hissing again and warm inside. Compressor needs to be replaced. I contacted Whirlpool and they said 6 years is old for an appliance. Seriously!?? What about 13 months when the compressor went? They obviously dont stand behind their products. They are unable to admit I got a dud. Im so disappointed and frustrated. Stay clear!!!

Purchased this simple 30 wide fridge July 2017 to fit a short kitchen slot. It worked adequately, but it only had 3 temp settings. The highest setting was too warm and coldest froze food in the fridge within days. The middle setting was a little cold but the best option. Food in the back did occasionally freeze and we had to be careful for vegetables in the drawer freezing. Often we wrapped lettuce and more fragile veggies in towels to absorb moisture and slow down freezing. Two years after buying - almost to the day - the fridge stopped cooling below 45F. The freezer still worked, so I thought it might be fixable. I tried some DIY repairs from a couple of websites but nothing worked. Within a week, the fridge temps were up to 50-55F. I gave up on buying ice and keeping food in coolers. I bought a GE and havent looked back.

Mind you, Whirlpool products that we have purchased in the past have been satisfactory, but gas hot water heaters, no! About four years ago we purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater that went out in a little over a year. After spending many calls and time, we found out that the HWH was on soft recall. Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! Whirlpool quarterly report looks very good. Mine doesnt look as good. What can be done about a poor working product? Or is this too big to fail? Let me know.

When we bought our side by side fridge (model GD5RVAXVB02), the manual said to clean the condenser coils if you have excess dust and/or pet hair. We have both. We tried with the vacuum and with a brush but it is impossible to get to the coils because they run side to side instead of front to back. You can only get to the first coil in front. The rest cant be accessed from the front, sides or back. I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

I purchased a new Whirlpool 3.6-cu ft Top-Load Washer (White-On-White) Model #: WTW4800BQ from Lowes on 11/1/14, which was only 3 ½ years ago. The washer began making noise during the spin cycle so we called for service. The technician claimed that the bearing pack needed to be replaced and the repair would cost $400. This amount is $20 higher than the amount I paid to purchase the washer. Because the warranty is only one year, I contacted Whirlpool today and spoke with a representative. The representative said they could repair it under the warranty. When I asked how to proceed, she then asked me if I had an extended warranty. When I replied that if I had an extended warranty, I would be using it. She declined any assistance. I now have to purchase a new washer after only 3 and ½ years. I own 10 rentals. I promise that none of them will ever include a Whirpool product again.

The washer started to show error code for the door and washer would not restart. After removing the top of the washer and checking the door switch to see if there was a loose wire, I traced the wire back to the micro control unit, and upon inspection of the micro control unit, I found that the terminal that the door switch wire was attached to was loose and not making contact with circuit board.Although the washer is out of warranty being 7 years old, this is clearly not a part that is subject to wear and tear. The part was clearly manufactured poorly. I looked on the internet to purchase a new part but it seems that all micro control units are out of stock. This makes me wonder if one should start a class action suit as my part could be one of hundreds that was poorly manufactured. I called Whirlpool to see if they would send me another part to replace the bad unit but they said that because the washer was out of warranty, they could not help.

When my dryer died my wife and I decided to get both a new washer & dryer. I kick myself for two reasons. My 15-year-old washer which worked fine I replaced, and I didnt check reviews before buying. What a mistake. The eco-friendly Whirlpool washer designed to save energy doesnt clean close, my towels are the worse. Coming out of a shower and using a freshly washed towel to dry off and it smelling like it had never been washed tears it for me. Im hoping like many others they will rebate or even better recall and pay back the money I spent on a worthless washing machine! So, if Whirlpool wont do the right thing, I will do my best to warn others to not buy this top loading piece of **.

We purchased a number of Whirlpool appliances (dishwasher, double door refrigerator, Duet stackable washer and dryer). After 14 months, the ice maker broke. $200 later, it was repaired with an upgraded kit.Last week, the washer error coded and the door locked so we could not get out the wet clothes. Called customer (no) service and they advised that we needed to call a service tech because he has a special tool to unlock the door. I stopped by our local appliance store and the counter person told me how to open the door. Had the tech come out for $70 and it could be the lock mechanism or the control panel. It turns out to be the control panel, which costs $250 + labor and would total to around $500, give or take a little. We are in our 60s, my wife does not take in laundry and the ice dispenser was seldom used because I can sneeze ice faster than this can dispense it so I open the freezer door to get my ice.The tech and the store clerk said that these were common problems with these machines. This was a major expense when purchased. So far, the dish washer has not had any problems, but tonight might be the night. The reason we bought Whirlpool is because of the Maytag connection, now that is in the same toilet.

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a couple years ago at Lowes. It sucks. First of all, my washer stinks all the time. It smells like sewer even after the cleaning cycle. My dark clothes come out with a white residue, and my whites come out with dirt on them that wasnt on them before washing... All this even after running an additional rinse cycle. How is this energy efficient? Not to mention, time efficient??? Crazy that once you buy something like this for this amount of money youre pretty much stuck with it... Isnt there a lemon law for appliances? This was so expensive and such piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool washer ever again!

This is the second time the electric ignitors have been replaced due to the stove not working and it is still not working right. The gas valve regulator has also been replaced because it went bad too and my oven still isnt working. I have already put around two hundred dollars in and no one has any idea why it isnt working. My three month old Whirlpool electric range caught on fire last night. The wiring that connects to the electrical cord to the stove shorted and melted. Thank God we were up and smelled it and quickly pulled the stove out and unplugged it. Had the fire dept out this morning and they verified that it was the stove and not house wiring. Now, I am without a stove, out of my money and waiting on the mercy of Whirlpool to take care of this situation. I do not want this stove in my house so I wont accept repair. Not sure I want another Whirlpool either. If this had happened during our sleep time, the whole house could have burned down. So upset and inconvenienced.

Never again will I buy a Whirlpool product. I paid over $800 for a new washer 51/2 years ago. I had it worked on twice under extended warranty. Now the bearings are out of the tub and it sounds like a jet taking off when it spins. I had whirlpool products in the past and they lasted for years with no problems. I have a friend who has a relative who is an engineer for whirlpool and his job is to engineer their products so they fail within a certain time frame. They dont want them to last like they use to. They now have gotten their product line to the point where they can tell when it will fail. This is crap. What happened to products that lasted like they use to. NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL.

Now when our refrigerator arrived at their center. Now they are again asking for 3400 rs for other part. Im so frustrated by this service. What type of warranty you are giving.. I purchased a Whirlpool 50 gallon gas hot water heater 3 years ago. I have 3 daughters all in school age. When my old one finally quit due to tank failure and out of warranty, I went to Lowes and bought a 6 year warranty hot water heater costing around $600. Now I figured you get what you pay for RIGHT! WRONG! So about 2 years ago the pilot light started to just go out on occasion, a bit of an inconvenience but there was no default code warning me of any other issues. So typically we just relight it. I called Whirlpool to get help with this issue, but they wanted me to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. Um isnt that what the warranty is for? I said dont bother. Im not paying $150 for someone to tell me what I already know. Ill just keep relighting it myself. So finally the pilot light goes out for the 100th time but this time I go to reignite it and BOOM! It sounded like a twelve gauge shot gun going off in my face! Then it flutters flames into the chimney of the hot water heater. Scared the crap out of me at first. But it finally stopped and run fine. Well Im laying in bed a few nights later and woke up to a loud thumping noise, I go down stairs and it stops. The following day Im in the kitchen and THUMP THUMP THUMP BURP BURP BURP. Run over to the hot water heater closet and theres the flames shooting out of the gas valve into the hot water heater then BOOM! Its out! The valve unit finally took a crap I guess. I call Whirlpool again to get my warranty - this time it definitely needs to be replaced. So the guy tells me the parts are covered in the warranty but a technician needs to look at it first and the technician Ill have to pay.. Excuse me but what the ** did you just say? I have to pay for a technician to look at your failing part? No I dont think so! Just send me the part - Ill replace it myself. Im a millwright electrician by trade. I specialize in power plants and refineries. Im sure this little gas valve wont be a problem. I spoke with these idiots on a Friday and he said I could have it ground shipped for free and it should be here in 5-6 days or pay extra for quicker delivery. What the hell did he just say? I could pay extra for quicker delivery on Whirlpools faulty part? ** whirlpool should be saying Well have the part overnight to you.Now since it was a 3 day weekend theres no sense in me paying $40 to have it delivered 3 day because it still wouldnt arrive until close to the five day. So I just looked to see where my damn part is because it shouldve been here by now according to the guy on the phone. NOPE! Its set to be delivered in 5 more ** days. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. THEY DO NOT PRACTICE ETHICS.

On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

In June 2003, I purchased a Whirlpool Gold Conquest Side-by-Side satina finish refrigerator (Model Number: GAS6SHAXLL03; Serial Number: SP1452552). The ice-maker has always had freezing up issues which I never complained to the company about. It has made weird noises (nothing major) but was already out of warranty. I paid $1,600-1,700 for it. I did not have the money to pay for repairs and I am sure that the repairman would have never found the problem. Two days ago, there was an electrical smell in the house. After an hour or two, it started getting stronger and stronger so my husband looked at the fridge. There was smoke pouring at the back of it so he pulled it away from the wall and we unplugged it. Surprisingly, the plug was not hot. Had I not been home, it could have caught fire, burned the house down and killed my dog! I am furious about this. When I called, Whirlpool says, That model is not under a recall. Would you like me to transfer you to service for repair? Really? Those big corporations dont care! There needs to be a recall on this because I have seen this same problem many times on blogs and forums. Well, guess what, I used to be a Whirlpool fan, not anymore! Now, I went and purchased a new refrigerator, and the brand name is Samsung! I recently bought a Samsung front loading washer and dryer and they are great. It looks like the Whirlpool dishwasher in my kitchen will be next! I bet Samsung makes a nice dishwasher.

I am very upset about this Washing Machine and Dryer. I did my research in 2012 and found good reviews on drum size, water usage, bells and whistles. I purchased the set in Feb of 2013 (its on Jan of 2017). NOT EVEN 3 years later, I write to say that my washing Machine is ready for replacement! I paid 989.00 for each and last year the Spring on the Glass Top was worn away, I am told because bleach was splashing up in the spring area. Cost to fix with a local repairman... $235.00. Now I noticed a small amount of water on the floor, move the washer and there is a LARGE amount of water Stain and my cycles keep popping up UL. Two separate repairmen (because I didnt believe my trusted first one) tell me the cost for the shot bearings and seals will cost almost as much as a new washer! I am a family of 3. I have a daycare so do a few extra loads, but am not using this any more than average to low use. Not to mention that on top of all of this the computer appears to be shorting out and to order a new panel the repairman places that at an EXTRA 300.00. SO UPSET! The dryer dries very nicely and is quiet however, the motor went out 6 months ago and we replaced that, not wanting to but better fix than scrapping it only 3 years into a product expected to last well over 10! The little clip on the door to lock it is also loose and hardly locks now. The repairman is having trouble even finding the small part. Young Couple Expecting to have a brand new 1900.00 washer dryer set last a long time only to be out of warranty and already needing to buy a new set! DONT EVER BUY A CABRIO WHIRLPOOL.

I have used my new Whirlpool range (D-MGR865OES) about a dozen times and the damn thing is going to catch me on fire. I cannot reach the pans on the back burners without rubbing the knobs on the front and turning on the front INFERNO BURNERS AT MY ARM. I cant reach the matching microwave above either. The front inferno burners start on high then can be turned down. It happens every time I go near the thing. Either I inadvertently turn on the fire or just the gas a little and dont realize it until I smell the strong odor of natural gas. Tons of other problems, but this is the worst of all. I called the manufacturer and they call it Buyers remorse and wont give me a credit back. Tim at Freds Appliance just never returns my calls for a manager to call me. I WANT A DIFFERENT RANGE. Buyers remorse? You betcha!!! Never Freds Appliance or Whirlpool again. IF I GET BURNED I WILL PROVE IT IS DANGEROUS IN A CIVIL LAWSUIT. The manufacturer stated on 5/6/16 that there is nothing wrong with the design of this range. I do believe that the other comments are true and my salesman Tim at Freds Appliance lied when he said that the star score was not for the model I was purchasing. They will say anything to get your money and then disregard any further communication. I bought a full house of appliances at Freds Appliance. They know I wont be buying again for 10 years. Ive never considered writing a complaint before, but feel it is necessary in this situation. I have had my Whirlpool refrigerator since November, 2007. It has worked great until this past April when the freezer began to overfreeze, cause frost and ice to build up. I have had Whirlpool Factory Service out to repair the unit twice a month since April with still no resolution and the appointments are getting harder and harder to get someone to come out in a timely fashion. I called on September 1st and the closet appointment is September 15th. They werent even able to book the appointment when I called. I was told someone would call back within 3/4 days. When I didnt hear back today, I called to find out an appointment was set.Ive called the Resolution Team to obtain back records of service but havent been successful in receiving a phone call or email. I havent received all of the follow up emails after service which is frustrating since there have been two technicians that have come out for repair and were not provided any history on the unit. If I had the follow up emails, I would be able to share that information with them.I contacted Customer Service to find out what I can do in regards to the issue I am having and was told its best to stay with the service provider that I began with since they are familiar with the issue. I would imagine if they are familiar with the issue that it should have been fixed by now. Ive also sent a response card back to Whirlpool Home Appliances at the Survey Response Center and havent heard anything from them either. When I called to follow up there wasnt anyone that could point me in the right direction to obtain answers. They were able to provide me with the mailing address for Consumer Affairs though. Ive been told numerous times that if it gets to a point it costs too much to fix they will replace the unit. Im not sure when that decision is made. I have an extended contract and will extend it again in October when it expires. I just want the unit fixed or replaced. Its been since April with the same issue. Very disappointed consumer.

Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpools corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! I am at my wits end. Today I wrote to the Attorney General. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this model refrigerator!! It has been a nightmare!! !

In 1994 we built a new home and we used only Whirlpool Appliances. In July 2006 we replaced all the appliances with another Whirlpool products, although they were still working including the microwave. After two years the microwave stop working, replaced it with another Whirlpool microwave and the second one stop working last night (July 2014). I noticed the quality of all their products went down including, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, etc. The dishwasher heating element start to decompose and I replaced it. The washing machine get stuck and the water never stop creating a major flood in the house. The refrigerator door seal torn apart. I decided not to buy any more Whirlpool products.

Completely disgusted and angry with Whirlpool! We own a Cabrio and just after 1.5 years of owning it the stupid washer has broke down. It wont spin or rinse or wash! Pretty sure its the bearings as I have seen several peoples complaint about this same issue! I contacted Whirlpool to only be told that they only offer 1-year warranty and after that the consumer is out of luck. They only stand behind their products for 1 year and after that its on you! They refused to help me in any way including sending someone out to look at it! Im very upset and will never buy another product of theirs! They need a class action lawsuit brought against them!

Our newly renovated condo came with a Whirlpool washer/dryer, and its been a nightmare. Not only has the unit destroyed 5-6 items of clothing, but weve had to have two repairmen out to remove socks that were sucked into the drainage pipe. On top of all of that, the customer service has been terrible - their hours are very limited, and theres nothing the call center employees can do beyond sending a tech out to look at your appliance for a cool $175. All this for a machine that was purchase new in June 2014! We will never buy a Whirlpool product again. Sad example of why American manufacturing has so thoroughly declined.

Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

Repair person replaced a clogged plug leading to evaporation tray. Its March 2013 and repair person now has to replace evaporator motor part # W10128551. There are plenty of reviews on this board already about how the so called AquaLift technology for oven cleaning is completely worthless so I wont repeat what they have already so eloquently described. AquaLift has managed to take us back in time to around 1947 or whenever it was before the old easy off oven cleaner was invented. I purchased the cleaning kit (affinity) as well but it doesnt do much of anything. The only people who might consider purchasing a stove with AquaLift are those who do no roasting or broiling of meat. The oven looks beautiful, so maybe it could be for those who enjoy a show kitchen and prefer takeout.

Five years ago, I decided to splurge on a really nice (expensive) over-the-range microwave during a complete kitchen remodel and had the Whirlpool Gold Velos Microwave GH7208XRS installed, thinking Whirlpool would be a reliable brand to replace our 18+ year-old (still working) Kenmore countertop model that we had used previously. About 4 months ago, after a couple of mysterious cases of the control panel going haywire (turning on by itself in a different modes), it started pouring smoke out the top and service was called and the magnetron and inverter were replaced to the tune of $482.Fine, things happen. Yesterday, while opening the door, the handle snapped off and (upon closer inspection) I noticed cracks around all sides of the door frame - see photos. After reading about similar complaints about Whirlpool microwaves on this forum, I really feel that this is a defect in materials and should be recalled or at least addressed by the company if they want to maintain their reputation. Right now, I am waiting on their authorized repair service to see what my recourse will be.

Im so disappointed with this product. Its only a couple of years old, which seems fairly new as my old washer was over 20 years old when I finally got rid of it because of the noise it was making! First, the Cabrio stopped draining and spinning, even though the display showed that the cycle was done. Phoned Whirlpool, and the best they could do was send out a repairman - at our cost, of course! We refused, and kept using the machine - put it on for an extra drain and spin. Then, it stopped working completely! My husband hauled it out to a repair shop and was told it needs a new motherboard at a cost of $400 plus labor! This was an expensive washing machine, and I feel Whirlpool should offer its customers better service! I guess we need to buy a new machine - definitely not Whirlpool!!

Overall, I am happy with my Cabrio BUT we purchased a Whirlpool WTW7000DW0 Cabrio top loading washer w/ electronic touch panel in May 2016. We experienced water hammer from day one. I finally had enough yesterday and knowing that the plumbing could be suffering (15 year old condo), purchased 2 Sioux Chief MiniRester, Model 660-H arresters (Lowes at $9.99 each) and had a plumber install them today. I could have but am nursing a fractured rib. Long story short, they work perfectly. There is NO indication elsewhere in the unit that water is even entering the tub unless youre standing right beside it.Ive been told that hammer problems exist in ALL high efficiency washers, all are prone to this problem. I was also told by a Whirlpool support person that the Cabrio is a Samsung design and the pulsing of supply water off and on, over and over is normal operation. If I had been informed when purchasing that hammer is a common problem, I would have installed arresters from the get-go. At the very least, manufacturers should include arresters as a part of the sale; installers should make sure that every new installation includes arresters. All told, I am out just under $200.00 for new technology that really could have been engineered out in the beginning.

I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

Whirlpool Gold (Model No. GX5FHDXVY04), expensive French-Door style refrigerator , with bottom freezer pull-out drawer, purchased in 2010, has drain line that repeatedly blocks, causing frozen sheet of water on bottom of freezer and consequent leaking of water onto wood flooring (ruining said flooring). To add insult to injury, 5-year extended repair warranty I purchased specifically EXCLUDES drain lines, leading me to believe that this is a well-known problem that is costly to repair which is true because the drain line and pan on this particular model is nigh impossible to access without upending the unit (two people required) and accessing the bottom panel of the unit. This appears to me to be a design defect that Whirlpool should correct -- at its expense, not mine. I am currently reviewing possible courses of action, to include, but not limited to, BBB complaint and litigation.

I purchased a 50-Gallon Electric Water heater in 2006, sure it lasted and worked well for quite a few years; however, in August 2014 my power bill started to rise dramatically, I live in Arizona and $300-$400 power bills are the norm in the summer months; however, a $700.00 bill will immediately be noticed. I contacted the power company and they sent a tech over who performed a lengthy diagnostic and determined that my water heater was running constantly thus accounting for the great increase in power, I contacted Whirlpool and received 2 heating elements (no charge) which my pricey plumber replaced. The problem still remained and I contacted Whirlpool again and again trying to get this issue resolved. I paid less than $400.00 for the heater installed and since Ive been having the issue Ive almost paid another $400.00 in labor costs trying to get a resolution. Ive decided to get another system and my only reason for posting this is to inform all that the Whirlpool heaters seem to be very problematic, like others Ive had plumbers decline my business when I inform them that I have a Whirlpool tank with the Energy Smart module.

My Cabrio was built in April 2016, its now Feb 2019, and its not working. Shows error code of LF, the inlet water value is bad. I bought a Sears protection plan, repairman comes out, tells me no-one has the part anywhere, its backordered and no way to know when it will deliver. Sounds like a scam so Sears doesnt have to fix it and Whirlpool makes little to none of the part so you have to buy a new machine. This machine also takes forever to wash clothes, sometimes part of the clothes come out dry because not enough water. Its a huge tub, but of no use because theres not enough water to clean properly therefore, you have to do small loads. I always put it on high water because the other features like, quick wash & normal do not give but only little streams of water! The first one I had delivered made a funny noise from day one so Sears replaced it the next day. This one has NOT even lasted 3 yrs. There needs to be new legislation placed upon these companies with regards to the products they make. It should be illegal to make such junk and be able to charge high dollar for it and it doesnt operate well or last very long. They are laughing all the way to the bank on everyones dollar, intentionally making products that last less than a few years! I Will NOT purchase Whirlpool or any of their products again! Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

This washing machine is a piece of junk. It broke down exactly 2 days after the one year warranty expired. Home Depot said there was nothing they could do and Whirlpool said the same thing. This washing machine was not used on a weekly basis. It perhaps washed 20 loads during the course of the year. I had many issues with the sensors before it broke down completely. Sometimes, half the clothes would be dry after the entire cycle. I was so angry that I had a local independent contractor come in and look at it. He said the motor was broken and needed to be replaced. So much for $700 down the drain. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. This was the worst experience Ive ever had with an appliance.

Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.

I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in December of 2015. It has had very light use, and today I found out the motor needed to fix it (it does not wash the dishes) is going to cost almost $500. Whirlpool used to be a very reliable manufacturer. Obviously, those days are gone!

In August of 2008 I purchased a Whirlpool Amana refrigerator, Model# ABR2227FES. It worked great for exactly 6 years. In Aug of 2014, the motherboard needed to be replaced as it was not forcing a defrost when needed. I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. In Dec 2016, just two and half years after the motherboard was replaced, the exact same problem re-occurred. Again I tried to get a refund on the cost of the part and labour but both were refused. Will I be buying this refrigerator in the future? A definite no!!!

Purchased my Whirlpool WRF989SDAH00 White Ice fridge late September of 2014, received the fridge Early October, todays date is Dec 17, 2015. The freezer is not freezing food properly the last couple of days, all food is unfrozen in the freezer. Have lowered the temp settings has not helped, the fridge section is temperately fine. There is a noise coming from the fridge that sounds like a noisy fan or motor. Phoned Whirlpool Canada, they said they could send someone out. They will charge $100 for call out and over $20/15 min after. I asked whod theyd be calling to service. Said that Id try unplugging the fridge for a couple of days and seeing if that helps, and that Ill call the refrigeration company myself if I need them. Not satisfied with their short term warranties. Especially on such expensive products.

Whirlpool Washer Front Loader - Ripped off! It cost $250.00 to repair; the serviceman was at my home all of 15 minutes. The below or otherwise known as the rubber seal was ripped up and caused my washer to leak water all over the floor. I washed a load of laundry, 1 item being my 2-year-old granddaughter’s pants that had a 4 zipper in the pant leg. The serviceman suspected the damage was done by the zipper. So how many of us wash clothes with zippers?!I called and ordered the part from Sears thinking this was possibly something we could fix ourselves, only the part was on back order and would take a month before it was in. Therefore I looked online and could purchase the part, delivered for $91.00. I called for repair service to ask them about it. He said they could be difficult. It would take him about an hour to put it on. Guess what, it was on in 5 minutes. Now, Im even madder because I know I could have done this myself. Whirlpool! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this was 1 and a half years old; we’re a family of two, no warranty. Think people, we’re getting ripped off.

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

I purchased a new Whirlpool stainless steel smooth top range model #WEE745H0FS and it was installed the day before Thanksgiving, 11/22/17. The oven door handle was broken on inside by installers. I called Whirlpool warranty on 11/24/17 and requested a repair. A repairman came the following week two days late. He said he needed to order a part. After calling the “Whirlpool approved” repair shop multiple times over the next two weeks, I was told the part was backordered. Finally, yesterday, 12/13/17 the repairman showed up an hour later than appt. time. He took the oven door apart again and the new part didn’t fit my oven door. He had carelessly ordered the wrong part. I was told he’d put a rush on the correct part and that it would be here 12/18/17. I will never buy another appliance from Kelley Appliance in Augusta GA nor another Whirlpool product. I have had to use duct tape on my brand NEW oven just to use the oven so it doesn’t fall apart when opening.

Our experience with the Whirlpool Duet Steam washer is the same. Weve had ours about 2 years and have replaced a sensor and the rubber boot (both in the first year) and now we too have had the bearings go out. Weve called Nebraska Furniture Mart and Whirlpool. No one really cares. Its unbelievable that $1800 is down the drain and its acceptable! What are the steps for a class action lawsuit? How about getting some social media involved to get Whirlpools attention? It worked with Netflix and Bank of America. They had to finally listen to the public. So frustrated!

The machine was leaving spots on my clothes from day one (was told it was my detergent)! The machine started making strange noises and not cleaning clothes. It was coming out worse than they went in the machine! I called on Oct. 10th, 2011 to complain. They told me my warranty was up! I had to pay $234.83 to order F7E1 activator and pay repair. The repairman told me that my machine was not delivered until Oct. 14th, 2010. It should have been covered on warranty!

Purchased front load washer & dryer 2009 - have had issues with the washer ever since. The last episode has taken 3 visits from repairman - they cant figure out what the problem is - wont finish a cycle (any of them) and locks up. Cant open the door without turning it off and then back on. But the load wont spin dry - leaves clothes wet. Already had the harness replaced a couple of years ago and now they replaced the flywheel (it was warped) thinking that was the problem. Nope. Still wont work & the repair company said they cant figure it out & neither can Whirlpool. Im very angry after reading all of these posts about Whirlpool. Not a happy customer. But what can you do???

A new washer, kept in pristine condition, indoors in an upstairs laundry room, used by 1 person for 4 years should NOT rust out. I took pictures and sent them to Julia ** a company representative after she offered me a discount on a new washer but would not send me an email with directions like it was some kind of secret until I insisted several times. The email simply had her phone number. I was to let her know the models I would be interested in and she would tell me if those were available for the discount. Then the company would charge me, deliver the new one and charge me to install and remove the old one. How is this for a great company. I sent her the models I might consider. No word back. Whirlpool, not looking like a stand-up company to be proud of. Shame on this company.I like the machine, but seeing it rust out before my very eyes has changed my mind. How will they address a 4 year old washer rusting from the inside out? How will they address a 1 year warranty? I found a copy of Whirlpool Washer Warranty that used to have up to five years for issues such as poor workmanship. It takes more than a year to find these things out. Dont make them if you cant guarantee that they will last. My last Maytag lasted 18 years and was still in good shape. I just wanted a model without the agitator in the middle and on that would conserve water. Should have kept the old one.

I bought a 40 gal. Whirlpool water heater from Lowes. It was just outside the 6-year warranty when the pilot light went out and wont relight. I called Whirlpool. They are about as worthless as box of rocks. They refuse to replace the thermocoupling free of charge or at least no shipping charge, when they know in fact there is a problem. It was because no class action lawsuit was filed. Its too bad for the customers. I wished they would have just said: “lady, please take your business somewhere else.” It would have made things easier. Or, better yet, they should just put a sign on their water heaters in the store stating: “If you have problems with our product, sorry about your luck. ** you and have a nice day.”

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

We bought this dishwasher new from the Brick 2 or 3 years ago. It was bought not because old dishwasher wasnt working, but we needed a new fridge and stove so we also bought a dishwasher to match the new stainless steel fridge/stove. If I could give 0 stars I would. Biggest complaints: It doesnt matter what soap, what setting or how much your rinse/scrape your dishes THIS DISHWASHER WILL NOT CLEAN THEM. Its very rare it actually cleans a dish or utensil properly. If your plate had ketchup on it, it wont clean it. But if you had a sandwich on the plate and managed to not get ANYTHING from your sandwich on the plate, it would come out clean. The drain constantly clogs. We rinse everything, but the drain hose constantly clogs to the point the unit wont drain. Have to remove the unit, take off hoses and blow them out. It clogs because the strainer at the bottom of the dishwasher which is supposed to stop stuff from going down the drain hose doesnt work. If you look at the strainer and the system they use to stop stuff from going down the drain hose. Its no surprise it doesnt work. By design it cant work. My brother in law is a licensed appliance repair man. Sears actually paid for his schooling. He installed and hes fixed the clogged drain numerous times. He agrees. Worst dishwasher ever.

All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!!! And shame on the stores that advertise and sell Whirlpool JUNK!! They should put a warning on these machines stating Will not last, gets off balance and does not clean your clothes. Yes we bought the Cabrio like the others, our clothes would not get clean, because like sheets, would end up looking like a doughnut without a hole and all of the dirty water would drain through the middle and make a spot. Then you have to wash them over and over. But that is not the worse part! It only lasted 13 months, YES I said 13 months just past the warranty LOL!!When the man came to make repairs, it was the gear box and was going to cost almost $600. Almost as much as we paid for the machine. He recommended getting a Speed Queen, we did and I LOVE it!! I think it is the BEST MACHINE I have ever had. They are a little hard to find though, but I found where they were sold on the internet and the dealer had to order it. Well worth the time and trouble, (trouble) which I dont expect to have with this machine. Like I said it is a wonderful beast. And I will never buy another product made by Whirlpool. Before my husband retired he made prototypes for autos so he knows about testing and Whirlpool had to know this product had bad flaws before they put it on the market, I call that fraud. Bad taste in my wallet, Michigan.

We bought this product and had only had it for a couple of weeks when I spilled soup on the open microwave door. My mistake, but I would think that might happen to other people once in a while. The soup leaked around the window gasket of the microwave and streaked the interior of the door. It also ran down into the door of the oven and streaked the interior of that door. No way to clean this up that I know of without taking the door apart. I think these gaskets should not allow liquid they leak into the inside of these doors. Whirlpool says its my problem. They call it a use and care issue. I think its a design issue.

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. Now, the tub bearing is apparently beginning to fail given the machines new propensity to roar like a freight train during the spin cycle. A letter to Whirlpool resulted the too bad ** letter that everyone else has gotten. This really should be a class action suit money-maker for some attorney. So now the question: Throw good money after bad hoping to get an additional couple of years out of it or bite the bullet and buy some reliable brand?Never again a Whirlpool, thats for sure. I pointed out to them that in the age of the internet, they wont go unpunished for this but theyre nothing if not shortsighted. We just recently remodelled our kitchen and decided to buy a Whirlpool Range. Big mistake. First off, the range was advertised as a built in but it ended up looking like a slide in. We were disappointed but decided it was ok as long as the range performed fine. However, within 6 months of buying it, the oven fan broke and the oven became unusable. I used it only 2 - 3 times before it gave up. Extremely disappointed. Our old oven was sturdier and lasted many years and was in a very good condition when we gave it away. Purchased heavy duty dual steam washer and dryer in 2008. Recently got some error codes that we could not fix. Had one service company come in and they could not figure it out. Had a certified Whirlpool company come in and they could not figure it out. They called Whirlpool technicians and they were even unsure of what is wrong. Said they could keep ordering parts and trying them to fix the problem. And of course I would be responsible for the parts. And no guarantee it would be solve the problem. Called Whirlpool direct, to no satisfaction. They said they could send the same company out and have them call the tech line while on site and try to troubleshoot the problem. However, would have to wait another 3 days to get him out. Been a week without washer. I have had washers bought previously last over 10 years without any problems. If these machines are breaking or control boards are going out after about 4 years, then Whirlpool has a bigger problem. Whirlpool supervisor was only offering to maybe a discount on the parts needed, without even knowing if they could fix the problem. Seems to me like they really dont care. Very dissatisfied, will definitely not recommend this product to anyone. And if it ever gets fixed, I am going to sell them immediately.

My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny steel surface, gleaming white inside. However, its made poorly. The ice cube maker compartment broke and the replacement came without any installation instructions. It was hard to figure out and I broke it. Now, everything in the refrigerator is freezing and changing the temperature on the digital panel makes no difference. McKinneys appliance, where I bought it, no longer has a refrigeration technician and they referred me to Whirlpools 1-800 number where I supplied some information and sat in my chair on hold listening to music for a half hour before hanging up.The recording on the phone suggested their online chat where I was asked the same sorts of questions and was told I would get the answers I wanted by paying $5.00. I had no idea what I was getting into but I didnt pay, just terminated that inquiry. Feeling cheated by the company whose product I had mistakenly purchased. Im now running the risk of a technician visit, sometime between 8 am and 4 pm a couple of days from now. I have to be prepared to wait around all day for somebody to look at my refrigerator, charge me a lot of money and, from what Ive read online, potentially see the problem return in a very short space of time.
