Product Reviews:

I paid about $400 for this dishwasher and the regular price was over $600.
I paid about $400 for this dishwasher and the regular price was over $600. Got a good deal. It washed dishes wonderfully. All I had to do was scrape the chunks off. It cleaned the rest. BUT... at a certain point, it started NOT cleaning. It was only about 6-7 months old. It was to the point where everything just came out kind of slimy and food grit was re-deposited on the dishes. I cleaned both filters. I made sure there was enough Rinse-Aid all the time. I ran hot water in the sink before starting to make sure the temp was hot enough. My husband went online and someone had instructions about cleaning the water intake because it could sometimes have sediment buildup. Not a difficult process, but there was no gunk in the intake filter. When I listened to a load it seemed like it drained, (most start with that), paused, rinsed for a couple minutes, paused, drained, paused and refilled for the wash cycle. So the pump worked, the arms went round and sprayed. Nothing was in the way of the arms. After it started the wash cycle, it seemed to just stall. It would spray for about a minute and then stop. Im not sure it sprayed after that. The timer kept counting down. It said dishes were clean, but it was an absolute waste of time. I was ready to go buy a cheap dishwasher and throw this one in the dumpster. I think it is a 720 padm??Just after my husband checked the water intake filter, we started another cycle. When it was rinsing, he opened it up and everything seemed to be working ok. It drained, then filled and started the washing cycle and then stopped. He opened it back up and surprise, the water was full on the front level by the float (that turns the water filling off). But in the back of the dishwasher, there was only about an 8th of an inch of water. Online it said the water should fill to just about the top of the heating element. It WASNT. Problem? It wasnt LEVEL. The instructions when installing said it should be leveled. We did when installing it (when it worked great). But looking back, we put in a new hardwood floor about the time it stopped working ok and we didnt put 2 and 2 together. We did not re-level. When we pushed the dishwasher back into its built in cabinet, it must have gotten OUT of level. The rinse part worked I guess. Then it drained and re-filled. After re-leveling the dishwasher, we opened the door at that point. The water was a level depth front to back and side to side. My husband explained what he thought had been the problem to me. When the wash cycle starts it fills, the float shuts off the water at the appropriate level. THEN... the dishwasher starts to pump and fill the arms and the tube up the back that feeds the upper washing arm. So much water goes into the arms and up that tube, the dishwasher looked almost empty of water again. As the dishwasher was now level, it began adding water to compensate for the arm/tube filling. Before the float would shut off too soon because the front part of the tub was full but the back wasnt. Without enough water, the dishes were NEVER going to/COULDNT get clean. The re-leveling made sure that the float didnt turn off the water filling until there was much more water, the CORRECT amount. The next load cycled all the way through, spraying much more than Id heard before and the dishes were clean. P.S. I also got some dishwasher cleaner and used that on a couple empty cycles. I NOW LOVE this dishwasher again. FYI If my husband wasnt handy Id have junked this thing. We HAD leveled the dishwasher when we installed it. Just didnt realize it COULD get un-level just pulling it in and out of the cabinet to install new floors. Check out all the troubleshooting stuff in the manual. But if it doesnt help, put a level inside across the bottom rack, front to back and side to side and make sure the bubble is in the middle of the two lines. The previous dishwasher I had, just made like a fountain of water that went up the middle of the dishwasher into a sort of funnel filling the upper arm. THIS one has that tube up the back and it curls down under the filter and Im guessing it is more sensitive to being OFF LEVEL, because the tube doesnt go straight down, it curls and lays across the bottom of the tub. Without being level, there was never enough water to suck up that tube to start the the actual wash cycle and it just stalled there till the timer said clean at the end. IE: dishes never did wash. BUT IT DOES NOW! Woohooooo!

Purchased Whirlpool gas hot water heater from LOWES on 9/25/2016. After the installation, tried to light the pilot light for 90 minutes. Followed the recommended instructions, I could not get it to light. Called LOWES they told me to call Whirlpool. I did so, and told them I will return the heater to LOWES the next day. Whirlpool customer service very bad. Returned the heater to LOWES the next morning, went to a local plumbing shop and purchased a Rheem heater. After installation it lit very first attempt. Now three weeks later I get a letter in mail from collection agency that LOWES turned me in for stopping payment on the check I wrote them. After reading the many negative reviews and they disregard for my and my familys safety, nobody should purchase a Whirlpool gas heater from LOWES.

Cabrio Washer - Absolutely the worst thing I have ever bought... everyone told me to stay away from this brand. Bought in 2011... large tub... nothing but problems. My last washer was great... full tub with water, could soak or pre-wash. This one does nothing except create some kind of lint all over my clothes no matter what setting... I dont care about water usage (mine is free) but I do care it takes 50 mins to do a load where my other was exactly 20 mins (and it lasted me over 30 yrs!). This really sucks. I have seen other complaints but never a recall!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband
Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband installed, tank filled, no hot water coming through house lines. Called support center several times after trying each recommendation that did not work. They kept saying it was a plumbing problem. My husband is very smart when it comes to electrical and plumbing. He has done numerous repairs to our homes over the last 30 years we have been married. He knows what he is talking about and told the support tech that he believed it was a faulty water heater. She immediately said the units are all tested before they leave the factory. The final step was to remove the nipple that the hot water flows through out of the tank and remove the two black bellows. Now my husband can see directly through the piece but also decides to put his finger through the the open whole on the top of the tank and cannot get his finger through - it is blocked. He gets a flashlight and a screw driver. Puts the screw driver through a thin plate that was blocking where the water should be coming through. He can now actually see the water in the tank. This was the whole problem! So they could not have tested this tank. They did give us a ref number to take parts back to store to replace parts we already bought and cannot use. Its the time and energy on whats suppose to be an easy job that counts. Will not recommend Whirlpool products to anyone and probably will not purchase any in the future. Ours was not as bad as most of the other reviews I read but wanted to advise others who may think about what brand to purchase.

I have the model FG1H5040T3NOV water heater and had found this message board. I called the number posted by Chris with American Water Heater and provided them with my serial number. They shipped me the replacement assembly next day and after about an hour, I had it installed and working again. Im not too happy with the fact that it failed, but it does appear they have their act together in getting the replacement parts distributed.Based on the discussion with the person on the phone, my only real gripe is this: the cause of the component failure was potentially caused by a dirty-flame trap that supposedly needs to be cleaned regularly. Since the trap is underneath the water heater and is in no way really accessible, relying on people to see the fine print in the manual (which hardly anyone reads) isnt sufficient. At an absolute minimum, a very clear and apparent sticker should be included on all water heaters indicating this needs to be cleaned and a clear description of how to clean it properly to prevent this sort of unnecessary headache in the future.

My story begins in August of this year when my wife and I built a new home. The builder provided Whirlpool appliances in the kitchen. The fridge has continually tripped the breaker and after numerous visits from the builders electrician, we finally also had the Whirlpool service technician check out the fridge too. After the control board was replaced, and the interior light housing was replaced, it turns out the wiring harness in the fridge is faulty and is not repairable. According to your customer service team, the fridge will need to be exchanged. I have made numerous calls to the suggested numbers (866-698-2538 & 800-253-1301) to find out the status of the exchange. Each time, I have been told that my file is with the review team, and that if I have not heard from them in the next three or four days, that I should call back again. I have not been able to contact the review team directly myself, as your customer service team is either unable to or is not allowed to share those contact details. So I am relegated to wait and then call back again. I have lost track of the number of calls I have made, and the hours spent on hold because of the high volume of calls or re-telling the whole story. The fridge was determined to not be repairable on November 19th. I am not sure if this is the treatment you intend for your customers, or if this is an anomaly.

I had an upscale Frigidaire suite of kitchen appliances and I loved them. A few years later I moved and needed a new set. I thought Whirlpool was about the same and I bought a Whirlpool set. The stove wont boil water or even fry an egg. It heats up and cuts off continuously. I called a service rep out and he called the engineer who told him it is designed like that and I need to use hot water on the stove to boil it. I was shocked at his ignorance and insulted by his stupidity. Ive been cooking for 60+ years and everyone who cooks knows you use cold water to boil water. But really, the stove does not cook anything. When frying eggs the burners cut off every few seconds to the point you cannot cook anything with it and the engineer said thats the way they designed it. DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL. THEY WONT EVEN BOIL WATER. HORRIBLE STOVE AND ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT.

NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

I have replaced the damper control unit three times the last three years. The part begins to fail after nine months in used. The temperature becomes too cold in the refrigerator and the food started frozen because the damper door wont closed as cold air flows from freezer to the refrigerator. It adds to the displeasure that Whirlpool is not taking care of the shipping cost even the part is under warranty.

55 Gal Electric New in 2003 / Limited Lifetime Warranty - I paid quite a bit more initially at Lowes for this unit. Its stainless lined. I have had numerous problems since purchase. I had to replace the sensing element in the Smart Box in 2006. Then the lights started flashing again making a humming sound in the box. I took each piece apart in smart box and cleaned them, which seemed to help. Then the upper element that is also stainless that requires a special wrench to replace went bad according to the blinking lights. Lights stopped after several resets. Now, the water is boiling out of the top of heater and they tell me its the seal in the element that I never replaced. The cover for the element is off. Water cannot possibly build up and force out the top of the cover of tank. I am not an idiot, yet they tell me that is most likely the problem. They didnt listen to me long enough to properly assess my concern. Every plumber I talk to says its the separation of the liner inside the heater. Nonetheless, I have a water problem now in the basement and have never heard back from Whirlpool as promised with troubleshooting guide on an email. I am sick of calling and getting the runaround with every issue. The warranty is horrible for the consumer. Sure, you have a limited lifetime warranty, but when you cant get proper information when you need it, what good is it? Made in America is why I bought the product. I also need a new washer but will not be searching in the Whirlpool line due to their lack of care with an important issue with my heater.

Whirlpool gas range model WDF560SAFT bisque color, purchased in June 2020 from Home Depot online. After a 3.5 month wait range was delivered September 12, 2020 and installed. Have used the oven less than 5 times. Standing in my kitchen yesterday and heard a pinging noise, noticed chips of the finish all over my floor, it was chipping inside the top of the oven door, overnight the exterior top of the door was also chipping, bits of finish flying all over my kitchen! Have been on hold with Home a depot Cust. Serv. for almost 60 min. Will attempt to return to a Home Depot. Not sure what to do short of complaining about lousy Whirlpool product. Next time will come to Consumer Affairs and research.

The Whirlpool Gold Series we purchased, to replace the older refrigerator, has far exceeded our expectations. The French Door setup was exactly what my wife had talked about. The saleslady at Home Depot, where it was the least expensive by $283, was very well informed. We went through the specs, colors, types of finishes, etc and picked the perfect one for my wife's needs and wants. The model performs well fully loaded or almost empty. She told a few family members and they went out and bought the same model, or next model up, as we did. To wrap it all up, "Buy this. It performs as well as, if not better, than all the rest."

I bought my Cabrio washer 16 months ago to service a family of 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. Anything that has the slightest stain has to be pre-rinsed or pre-washed in the sink before going into the washer. Every load is an unbalanced load. Although the floor is perfectly level, the washer bucks and dances as though it is possessed. I never expected a $900 washer to be a piece of junk. I bought a brand new washer from Home Depot, Whirlpool 4.3 cu High Efficiency Top Load Washer to be exact. It hasnt even been 90 days and it started to make the loud, horrible noise so we had someone come and look at it. Apparently the transmission blew and the oil leaked all over my tile floor. I work full time and I do laundry only on the weekends and there is only two people living in the house so you can imagine we do not use it that much. I went to Home Depot first and since it was past 30 days we had to called Whirlpool direct. The customer service is horrible. I thought since the transmission blew, they would replace the entire machine since that is the brain of it. NOPE! They said to replace the entire machine and give us a new one, it would have to break 3 times. Are you kidding me? They did not offer to reimburse the tile damage or the amount of money I had to spend at the laundromat. Not to mention its been over a week and the guy still has not come out and fixed the transmission. It would not be a big deal to me if the hose broke or something simple, but imagine if you bought a BRAND NEW car and the transmission broke 60 days after you bought it. You would take it back to get a new car. The customer service line could not care less about the issue. I spent over 2 grand in appliances from Whirlpool and I will never buy their product again because of the customer service and the fact they did not want to make the situation right. I just bought the machine brand new for a reason!

l will never buy Whirlpool appliances again, nor do I recommend to anyone. My wall over was 1 1/2 yrs old with a worthless 1 yr limited Warranty. I had Total Appliance from Cleveland do the repair, the only ones I found at the time that would work on this type over with a Digital panel. I think the engineers think we all live in Silicon Valley. Unfortunately the cost to repair after I cleaned the oven for the first time was $384.00 to unlock the door and 2 trips and he had to remove the door to replace 2 fuses so the door and panel would work! Im afraid to clean them oven again..I called Whirlpool and the first wait time was 70 Mins... I put the phone on speaker, finally I talked to 2 Customer Service men to no avail. He basically said my Warranty was up and nothing they could do! I said I was going to complain on Social Media and he didnt care! Go to Consumers Digest before you buy any new appliance! PS, I also went on YOUTUBE and you can see all the TROUBLESHOOTING ON MANY APPLIANCES!

Whirlpool has been an absolute nightmare from day 1. We bought a brand new 50-gallon water heater from Lowes. It did not work. We went back to Lowes and were told to contact whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool and were told to conduct a number of test and all test passed, so they said we needed a plumber to come look at it. Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. Whirlpool took my money and didnt fix my problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

I purchased a 12 year warranty, high end Whirlpool WATER HEATER (OR SO I THOUGHT AT THE TIME) through Lowes in 2014. Model ND50T122-403. Six years and multiple service calls later it is broken again, this time for the final time. I am ripping this garbage out. So livid with this company that could give a rip about their customers. Three years in to my 12 year warranty it started giving me problems. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. They will insult your intelligence. Whirlpool will not honor the warranty or stand behind their product. They just take your money and basically give a shrug of the shoulders or worse blame you for THEIR TERRIBLE product failing. It may be unscrupulous and unethical but I guess saves them a pile of money which is what they seem to only be out.The Service Tech that came for the 4th time to repair it says they see this all the time in Whirlpool water heaters. Its a Design Flaw they say. I dont know about all that. I just know when I have been swindled. The electronics are garbage. The pilot light when it goes out is not easily reset as others have mentioned on this site. Will stay lit for while and then shuts down. Whirlpool says, despite reams of evidence to the contrary it must be a safety issue in the install, which they have absolutely zero evidence of therefore, they are not honoring the warranty. They are Blaming the installers, according to our service techs who tried to order the part thats supposed to be under warranty. The original installers, by the way were from Lowes, the outfit that sold me this hot mess. Another Class action lawsuit seems ripe. Or perhaps the consumer protection division from each states Attorneys General would be interested in protecting their citizens from practices like this. Lowes is complicit in allowing it, failing to protect their customers and not calling Whirlpool out for it. I cant think of a more deserving target of consumer protection than Whirlpool. A truly horrible, expensive experience. See the Whirlpool logo and RUN - - DO NOT WALK -- THE OTHER WAY!

In 2013 we thought that we bought a 30 cubic foot refrigerator model no. WRF989SDAM from Appliance Direct, Melbourne, FL. Months later we realized that it was only a 27 cubic foot unit. Two months after the warranty expired the unit started failing. Called the dealer and was told that they would have the service department to call us. Never heard from the dealer again. Finally I called an independent service company. After testing the unit the technician told us that the evaporator may be leaking. They offered to replace it for a price of nearly $500 with only a 90 day warranty. Realizing that it would work at least 90 days after the repair regardless if that was the problem or not.I decided that we did not want to spent that much money. Having refrigerator experience in previous years, I decide to add a piercing valve and adding refrigerant. Every few months I have to add refrigerant to keep the unit going. This unit has run nearly all time since the delivery. Corresponding with Whirlpool is somewhat like throwing a bottle in the ocean. I also noticed that Whirlpool has dropped the price of this unit quite a lot, must be to loss of customers. And yes I am 83 years old and handicapped and never had a problem like this to affect me so much.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer - Worst purchase ever! Washer will NOT clean clothes. It leaves detergent residue on everything and I use liquid detergent. All of my husband’s dark police uniforms have grey powdery looking streaks on them after they come out of the machine. Does not matter how I load the clothes. The horrible results are the same. Even rewash and extra rinse, streaks are still there. This model, Cabrio Platinum was very expensive! Never buy a Whirlpool.

One month after the delivery/installation of this new refrigerator, it began making loud noises when cooling the top refrigeration unit. After the 4th service call and replacement parts, the noise ceased for 3 months. The noise has returned and Im now scheduling the 5th service call for the same problem. Thank goodness I purchased the extended protection plan through Lowe’s when I bought my three new Whirlpool kitchen appliances. Whirlpool used to be known for quality and dependable appliances. That no longer is true. SAD.

I have recently bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer combo and I wish I had read your reviews before doing so. I spend quite an amount of time washing, re washing, rinsing dark clothes to end up washing them by hand as the washer leaves unsightly white streaks on them. I have tried switching from hot water to cold, using very little detergent, buying clear detergent, then organic detergent, extra rinsing, etc. to no avail. Very frustrated and disappointed. I would gladly join any class action to stop Whirlpool selling these useless but expensive washers.

This flat top electric range has a cooktop large enough to accommodate several large cooking pots at the same time and is so easy to clean. A feature I love is the Keep Warm burner. Whirlpool does it right every time.

We lucked out and got it on sale and were able to get features of a more expensive model for a lesser price. The only downside is getting the turntable back in when you clean it. One of the things I wish it had was a way use the timer for foods cooking in the microwave plus use the timer separately for timing food you arent cooking in the microwave, but will be part of the meal. Also, the defrost options could be clearer!

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer set 2 1/2 years ago (Jan. 2009). I have 4 kids and do lots of laundry. This is THE WORST appliance, namely washer, I have ever owned! I so wish I had researched this product more. I ditto everything that has been said about this washer. It tore up so many items of clothing, I lost count and does a horrible job of getting stains out. I contacted Whirlpool on several occasions only to be told that they would send a technician out to see if there was something wrong. The technician would report that the washer was working properly and Whirlpool would then tell me, sorry, we cant do anything about it. I asked them if a washer was supposed to clean your clothes and unravel them? Yes, it is supposed to clean them. Well, its not doing that. No, it is not supposed to unravel and destroy them but well, it IS doing that! Therefore, the washer is not working properly. Just because a technician can not physically find something wrong with it, doesnt mean it is a poor functioning washer. This company should better learn very soon that you must stand behind the QUALITY of your products or you will soon be out of business. I will never purchase Whirlpool products ever again nor would I recommend it to anyone!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. The washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty, a service tech came out to look at it. After hearing the problem, he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not fix the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty explained to me that customer advice was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mentioned that if the machine really did not work as described, we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one-year warranty. Whirlpool will sell you junk backed with horrible customer service. Beware!

I purchased dishwasher model #GU2800XTVT0 in May of 2009. Today, it leaked water all over and damaged my floor. My husband pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and found that the motor had fallen off. It did not have a bracket to hold it in place and worked loose, which then disconnected a hose. I called the customer service but they wont do anything because it is beyond the 12 month warranty. It only lasted slightly more than two years. This is obviously a manufacturing defect and we were just unlucky enough that it failed after the warranty had expired. The most ironic thing is that my husband worked for Whirlpool for 20 years. There is no loyalty here.

I Bought the Whirlpool Duet Steam Mod#: WFW95HEDC0 in 2015. I have always wondered how a machine can get clothes clean with less water but liked the idea of the energy star and saving water. However, I found that I was right and the clothes do not get very clean. They do not even get all wet hence the dry feeling when they are done. I just recently got a little frustrated at having to rewash some things by hand afterwards. I started to pretreat and wash out stains by hand beforehand. That helped some. I finally stopped the machine after all the water was done filling it and it tumbled a bit. It looked like it was wet from the window but when I dug through the clothes I pulled out a t-shirt that was almost bone dry. Some of the other thicker clothes like jeans etc. had a lot of dry spots too. This is why the odors don’t come out and why spots and lines are left where the dry meets the wet. There just isn’t enough water get all the material wet. I then proceeded to pour a pail of water in to get all the clothes wet. When I started it back up, it drained some of the water and I still had the problem. So now I get all the clothes wet in the sink before I put them in the washer. It’s amazing how clean they got and they didn’t have the body odors either. I think this machine would be fine if it could be reprogrammed to add more water for cycles. I know that would change the “Energy Star” but this water saving idea is bogus if we have to rewash and add more water to the cycles. At this point I will be looking for a new machine that doesn’t have the energy star but allows me to adjust the water myself. I do not trust these machines anymore.

Purchased a $900 refrig, it broke 1yr & 1 week later. I fought to have this fixed since its out of the warranty period. After having to take off time of work for repair people to come. The repair guy made a disaster. Finally after much arguing I received a new refrig, same model. Well that last about a year & 1 1/2 then it started leaking underneath. I CANT use the icemaker or the water feature which I paid extra to have. What a piece of Junk. The people at Whirlpool will just say, Did you purchase a warranty? YOU SHOULDNT HAVE TO HAVE IT FIX WHEN ITS ONLY 2 YRS OLD!!!!!! They are so greedy, they make junk so that you spend more money on repairs or extended warranties. Whirlpool owners & mgrs see how you feel when it happens to you. KARMA. I will tell as many people as I can to stay away from Whirlpool. I will never purchase their products again.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I used bulk load and heavy duty load and it doesnt work. Your product is a very big disappointment for the price a person has to pay. I will recommend that no one purchase this product. Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. They told me, You are out of warranty, and thats all they have to say. Thats over a thousand dollars a year to own this POS when you consider taxes. Over $1250 a year when you consider the service calls along with it. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product ever again. In Nov 2004, I purchased whirlpool oven GW395LPQ-00 from Sears. Let me preface this by saying I rarely use the oven usually just the stove top. In July 2007 after baking in the oven for a couple of hours and cooking on the stove top the oven went out of control. The temperature rose and burned the food in the oven. Whirlpool dispatched a technician and said nothing was wrong. Dec 2007 during a dinner party the oven again went out of control, raised the temperature on its own and burned the dinner. By this time I have used the oven maybe 25 times. Jan 2008 Whirlpool sent a technician to replace the circuit board. Dec 2011 Stove was on for 3 hrs at 375 - a batch of cookies in the oven for 6 minutes torched on fire, smoked up the house. I have had it with this stove! The oven displays error codes every time and the only way to shut it down was to throw the circuit breaker. I checked the internet to see if there was a recall on this stove - none. I cant believe it. I contacted Whirlpools Safety Department and once again got the run around that they want to send a technician to inspect the oven. I just want the oven out of my house and for Whirlpool to take responsibility to recall this oven & to protect their consumer. There are endless complaints from customers on the internet regarding this make and model. Consistently, Whirlpool takes no responsibility for their faulty products.

I had my Whirlpool Gold refrigerator for two years. I observed water puddling out of the bottom of the freezer about every three days. I called Whirlpool to find out if there was a recall on my problem. There was none although refrigerator repair companies said there should be as Whirlpool has a defective part. That part is the drain for the freezer as it clogs up and does not allow water to drain and then refreezes. When the freezer automatically defrosts, some ice melts and as a result the water comes out of the bottom and puddles on the floor in front of the refrigerator. I recommend that people do not buy Whirlpool refrigerators unless you are willing to pay over $200 to replace the end of the drain line in about two years.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I am very unhappy with this Whirlpool refrigerator model# GX5FHDXVQ 04. I bought this model in October 2011. You have to push the left door to close it and if you dont then the fridge will stay open. I had a Whirlpool tech come to fix this door problem so this is what he told me: 1) You have to push the door in order to close it properly; 2) Before closing the left door, I should first open the right door (losing energy); 3) The gasket will break very fast; 4) Buy a three-year protection plan because you will have to use it; 5) The freezer is very uncomfortable. In the bottom drawer, you have to fit your stuff. If you put your freezer stuff in a drop higher, then you cant close the drawer, so I am losing space; 6) Sometimes when I fill up the fridge, I move the temperature to #5. After a day, the top shelf back stuff will freeze and the front stuff will stay on fridge temperature. Yesterday, 4-18-2012, for the second time, the freezer gets a sheet of ice. Repairman will repair it but who knows. This fridge looks to me like a lemon. The height is 70 but listed as. I rate this fridge with a CCC.

We are on our 3rd washer and second dryer in 10 years. Our latest replacement (Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer) was purchased 3 months ago and is already broken and now we have been without a washer for a whole month. Not only do they have issues with the control panel and latch, but they smell. The dryer also had a control panel issue. Trying to get our units fixed presented even more problems and wrong parts would come in, with weeks going by without parts/service. Apologies and sympathies expressed on the phone are not enough. When you buy a matching set and only one breaks, you tend to replace the matching unit, which we regret and we went back and forth with our washer and dryer. I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this. We finally got a replacement today and due to more poor communication on their end, they could not hook up. My new washer sits in the laundry room, and I hate it before I even get it hooked up.

I had a 6 year warranty on the new Water heater and about only 4 years into it the tank began leaking. Whirlpool replaced it but of course I was responsible for Parts and labor to replace it. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. One time it only did 6 loads of laundry. Another it only worked for 6 weeks. That time I replaced the switch myself to save money on a repairman. Ironically the switch is still under warranty but they will not replace it unless a serviceman comes to confirm that the switch is dead again. This is because 2 have already been returned to them. Obviously, there is a problem with the switch. The company will do nothing. They used the excuse that I did not purchase an extended warranty. This is merely an excuse. I purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for my kitchen from Lowes about 5 years ago. The dishwasher was leaking water onto my hardwood floors after about a year. I figured out that the seal was pulling away on the lower left corner. I fixed that myself. It cleaned pretty well for about 3 years. Now its not cleaning at all. I took the lower spray arm off to try to clean it. Almost all of the holes are clogged with debris. (I clean the filter at least once a week.) I went ahead and ordered a new sprayer arm, maybe that will help.As for the rest of the appliances... After about 6 months, the freezer started filling up with water that then froze on the bottom and allowed water to pour onto the floor. The microwave handled broke after about a month. (They did send me a replacement handle.) The knobs on the stove are starting to peel. One of the knobs wont stay on, so I keep it in the drawer next to the stove. Overall, I am very disappointed in all of the appliances. This will be the last time I buy Whirlpool.

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer from Sears less than 5 year
I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer from Sears less than 5 years ago and am junking it! It has all the same problems everyone else has mentioned. I have had it serviced for faulty motherboard, unbalanced tub, broken lock mechanism. It had rusted out on the inside. Clothes are never clean and it constantly becomes unbalanced in spin cycle. We have to stop and rebalance every single load 3 or 4 times--or more if trying to wash a set of sheets or two or more towels. Cant leave the machine unattended for even a few minutes. I might as well be hand washing on a scrub board at the edge of a river! Waste of money and Whirlpool Customer Service wont say anything but should have purchased extended warranty! What a load of crap from what was once a reputable company that used to make a reliable product. WARNING--NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE!!!!!

My Whirlpool refrigerator, model number ET8MHJKXM005, constantly leaks water into the bottom inside of the refrigerator. Its only 4 years old, for crying out loud! I have a repairman coming over in a few days who tells me the newer Whirlpool refrigerators are notorious for having the drain ice up. Why would Whirlpool design such garbage? They should all be recalled.

Our microwave is less than 8 months old, hardly used and only for heating items. Besides the point, being under a year old. It began to make noise and pop, spark sounds with the smell of burning wires and promptly stopped working. We called the customer service line and began the long frustrating circle of completely bizarre conversation. Maintaining our belief this is a fire hazard and not wanting it in our home they insist on a repair person coming after trying to sell us Extended warranty, Why would we want Extended warranty when the warranty is NO warranty, it seems, whatsoever. After requesting to speak to a supervisor 3 times. A overly bubbly person comes on the repeat same spiel and to make an appointment for 1 week away from 8am to 4pm to be available for a phone call to make an appointment to see about repair on said fire hazard microwave that is less than a year old. This appointment is made with repair place and they too are confused and noted Whirlpool said this is not covered under warranty, and they too would contact them.Today Whirlpool Canada calls and gives number to repair place to book appointment, Hello we already have one and the frustrating verbal dance continues. 5 minutes after this call the repair place calls, as whirlpool contacted them as well to book appointment, which we both could agree this is the bizarrest situation since we already have an appointment, from their appointment. We keep saying we feel unsafe, this is a fire hazard. Which they completely ignore. This is unacceptable and extremely poor service.

We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

We purchased our Duet in July 2010. It worked great until two weeks ago when the washer sounded like a 40-year-old washer. The bearing sounds like an extremely high-pitched “wrr”. We can hear it in the back of the house. I looked online to get parts and noticed that you cannot replace the bearing. You must replace the entire rear drum ($358.00). This does not include the labor. I talked with a technician, and they said the whole drum must be removed, not a one-man job, and to take the whole thing apart. Now, theres no price for installation. Lets go low ($200.00). Probably more. I cannot get a price nailed down without a visit. Now add those together ($558.00), I could put almost $600.00 into a washer that this could happen to in another 2 years. Wow.We had a washer that lasted us 15 years without any parts. Is there anything that you can do to help me? This is totally outrageous. Please help. Thank you. This was part of my chat to Whirlpool. Whirlpools response was I understand your problem but cannot help you. It is out of warranty. No help, no discount, nothing. I will and have all my friends never to purchase Whirlpool. This is from a so-called American company. Im very disappointed.

My WTW4900BWO failed after about 2 1/2 years. Out of warranty, but I called Whirlpool Customer Service and was initially delighted that they offered to sell me a repair warranty that would cover the repair of my broken transmission. Was told that through AIG Insurance, I would have a repairman at the house tomorrow to repair the washer. A few hours later, their contracted local repair service called to try to push appointment back a day but I refused since I was told my washer would be repaired tomorrow. They showed up the next day in a old faded van, diagnosed the problem and then told me they would have to get authorization and come back in 3-4 days. A couple of days later I received a voice mail from AIG saying that since the cost of repair was more than the cost of the premium, they were canceling my policy & would refund my money. So a week later I still had a broken machine and no solution other than buying a new one or paying the cost of a new one to repair. Moral of the story: Whirlpool builds unreliable washing machines (and water softeners) and their customer service will promise you a repair that may not happen. Dont buy Whirlpool, but if you feel compelled, you better buy an extended warranty and cross your fingers. That said, we always had purchased GE appliances and never had a problem.

19 gallon Electric Whirlpool water heater Model #e1f20us015v - Purchased this water heater from Lowes to provide hot water to small apartment with no kitchen for my son, built in my garage. Had unit professionally installed within 1 foot of bath to provide hot water for shower and sink in bath only. Hot water lasts only 5 to 6 minutes and takes approx. 2 hours to recover. My son cannot even take a normal shower! ntacted Lowes who was unable to help and told me to contact Whirlpool. Contacted Whirlpool after my model number would not even come up on their website. I asked tech what was the normal expected amount of time before hot water depleted. She did not know. I asked what was the normal recovery rate. She did not know. I asked for information on the energy rating. She said there was no information available. I asked how I could receive a refund. She said that they could only send a plumber to check unit and that nothing would be done if it was heating water. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said none were available and said one would call me. I never received a return call. VERY DISSATISFIED with Whirlpool on this issue. It appears my only recourse is to purchase a new water heater and scrap the present one.

We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot.
We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. The delivery person started the washer and started the dryer and promptly departed. My husband immediately put a load of laundry into the washer, and he noticed there was insufficient water levels to adequately wet the clothing. Approximately 3 tablespoons of warm water were added at intervals of approximately one minute each. The water level never rose above 3 inches at the bottom of the tub despite setting the washer on the heavily soiled setting. After the spin cycles he removed the extremely damp clothing and it appeared that the machine had not properly completed the spin cycle and drained an insufficient amount of water from the clothing. He tried another load, and it appeared that the sensors were not working which regulate the water levels because most new machines use far less water. However this washer was defective. He then placed the clothes in the brand new Whirlpool dryer. The clothes ran for over five hours and never dried and the dryer never got hot. There was obviously something wrong with the thermostat. We are both disgusted and will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. In addition because of the extremely poor response from Home Depot, we will never purchase an appliance from them again either. So sad that Made In America, which was on a sticker on the front of the machines, does it mean diddly squat these days.

Bought it in July 2014 and have had the service people over to figure out the problem many times. They finally decided to replace the doors which didnt help because the replacement doors are doing the same thing. We have bought everything they told us to buy to clean and try and prevent the rust from coming back but nothing helps. Our warranty was ready to expire so we bought the extended warranty only to find out that cosmetic issues are not covered under the extended warranty plan... Stay away from this model refrigerator... Not only that we were then told the doors are not really Stainless Steel just some fake crap that looks like Stainless Steel. We paid good money for this refrigerator and have to deal with cleaning rust off the doors day after day.

We didnt expect any problems for the initial 4 years. Up on delivery some parts of the unit was missing, delivery guys said they will make a report for the missing left drawers and the parts. We did not have any manuals how to setup and use. After we called the customer service they send us the operating manual. We encounter several other problems with this unit and the most recent one to our surprise the warning light to change the water filter was on. We hardly using the water from the fridge because of the having monthly spring water delivery service. We called customer service and after explanation of our concern and following their instruction the light was on. Finally we were told that whether or not using the water filter has to be changed every 6 months and send us the additional service warranty contract which is $411.95 for 3 years. We still have 3 years 4 months remaining from our original warranty.

My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets
My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

As I write this my Whirlpool is roaring because a bearing is probably going bad. Ive owned this washer for maybe 5 years. They designed this washer poorly. If you leave change in your pocket as everyone does then it will end up in the bottom below the basket and get trapped. And it dislodges, and it will, when the drain pump engages it will blow the coin through and it will break the plastic housing. It needs two beads so that NO COINS can get through if you wash them. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.

Manufacturer refuses to acknowledge quality issues. This is not exclusive for the washer or dryer, IT IS BOTH! P.S. I owned & operated a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer for 6+ years before up-sizing & loved them! I was grossly misled by the retailer to believe the new Cabrio washer & dryer were the same as the previous model of Cabrio. They are not. Their performance is subpar. Not what I would expect from top of the line. Washer does not spin out as dry as the previous model. It will not show error codes on display so I can deal with the issue at hand-it just shuts down. Dryer sensors do not work properly. It will not dry, or overdries to the point of shrinking clothing beyond use. This $2800 purchase is continuing to cost me money. I have never been more upset with a purchase than this. I have to babysit these machines. There is a bolt in the back wall of the dryer drum. Hence my destroyed brand new hand crocheted afghan. Oh and did I tell you that their licensed repair man told me that I should not be laundering bedding in my machines at home? Apparently there are no home use machines on the market that are able to wash bedding. Sheets. Pillowcases. All of it needs to go to a commercial laundromat. Ha! Makes a person question who we let in our home. If you would like a positive - its huge. But wont spin out a small load effectively.I have recommended and led to sale of dozens of the previous Cabrio model. I will no longer be standing behind this model or company after the poor customer service. Their answers are scripted. Its like speaking to a robot. No one is accountable anymore. I could understand if I did not know how HE machines worked or even the Cabrio model, but I loved my previous HE CABRIO FOR 6+ years!! Excuse me while I go vomit.

It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. Whirlpool convection/microwave GMH6185XVS - In 2011, we purchased a whole new kitchen for our home with the top of the line Whirlpool products. The sorry side of this project was our microwave. This product has been terrible for us! It has been removed from our wall 4 times for failing... and four times we have gone for weeks at a time with a big hole in our kitchen wall!! All of the failures were due to the microwave not heating food or drink, and all, according to our local dealership, were for various different reasons. Again, it has failed and our local appliance center who we bought everything from does not want to deal with it anymore. I dont blame them... I dont either!! It looks beautiful up there above our range telling me the time of day... My wife and I are older adults and take very good care of everything we own. There certainly has never been any abuse to this product (not to mention we spend half our year at a winter home so this microwave only is used for 6 months a year). I contacted Whirlpool customer service about the reliability of this product and their response was that it is now not under warranty and we should deal with our local store about repairs. I have a small Sharp microwave sitting on the counter below this crappy excuse for one that stays there all the time in anticipation on the Whirlpool going down!!! The $60.00 Sharp never fails me!! This was our 2nd time around purchasing all Whirlpool products for our house. We did the same thing when we built back in 1990. All appliances performed as they should have back then. It seems Whirlpool integrity has gone downhill. I will never buy another Whirlpool product nor I will recommend to anyone I know to do the same. Good luck to anyone who purchased one of these.
