The first day I set foot in IKEA changed my life, innovative and sensible and affordable. Some years later I had the opportunity to remodel a kitchen and I immediately thought of IKEA. I used their online planner, researched the appliances and knew that they were made by Whirlpool and that they offered a kitchen package discount if I bought 3 or more appliances with all the cabinetry. So I hurriedly designed the entire kitchen from top to bottom with IKEA.Included in the design was my center piece, my 5 burner Praktfull Pro Gas/Convection oven range with stainless steel backsplash and top of the line hood fan, basically a thing of beauty! I loved it and I visited the store several times to look at it. I finally bought everything, and installed it. Absolutely the most beautiful kitchen in the world. We have a historic building and were on several historic tours, interviewed for the newspaper, our kitchen was the highlight of the tour. My gas range drew oooos and awwws. The range is an exceptional appliance, beautiful and amazingly efficient, easy to clean…I was in love. Then one day it happened, the love affair was quickly over, devastatingly over. The door fell off the oven and the hinge broke! Yes you heard me right, it fell off, but that is not the worst part. It appears that not only are there no parts to fix it… there IS no fix for it, period. The door fell off because it had been glued on!!! Yes glued on. Whirlpool and IKEA had actually manufactured an appliance that failed in less than 4 years of use and no apparent intention to ever provide service or parts for it. This is criminal and they should be fined for their neglect of the customer, their calculated malfeasance and fraud to the customer. So my beautiful kitchen has a big black angry cavity in it and now I must try to find a new range that will fit in the opening left by this piece of junk and also pay probably over $2,000 to $4,000 for it. Most of all I am heart broken, mad and distrustful of anything IKEA in the future. Oh and by the way, my entire house is IKEA, my living room, my patio, my bedroom (s), my library, my office! Ive spent thousands and thousands of dollars at IKEA. No more! THE FINAL INSULT: Ironically…. my kitchen was featured on the IKEA website!!!

We bought this Gold series refrigerator in 2013.. Less than a year we started having problems with rust on doors. It was so embarrassing people could see this. After that it was like one part after another, the motherboard, the ice on fridge, the ice maker. They changed the same part several times. Now April 2015 they say vapor cooling is not good and they have to put coolant and replace another kit.. Now we have to wait 1 week for that part. Meanwhile our food is going to go bad. Ive been calling for years about this lemon of a fridge. And the last time I spoke to somebody they say buy another fridge while youre waiting on the part to come out. Wow. This is literally driving my family insane.. I cant believe they just expect us to let this happen.. We paid about 2,500 for this lemon of a fridge.. I see so many complaints and youre telling me Whirlpool can get away with this.

After purchasing three gold series kitchen appliances in 2013 two months after purchase refrigerator failed. Whirlpool did not have a fix at the time. Told me I had to wait two months for a part to be engineered and then service to be scheduled which is not acceptable. They would not take back the refrigerator and give me a different model so I had to press Lowes to accept it back and they did give me a refund. I then had to purchase a different brand refrigerator which now I dont have a matching set in my kitchen. Then the dishwasher became part of class action lawsuit and now my gold series gas range is obviously damaged too. The control had the plastic panel is bubbling and it is split. Again after talking with Whirlpool customer service they refused to help with this at all claiming this is a cosmetic issue and it wouldve only been covered for 30 days from date of purchase. This gas range also has an aqua lift self-cleaning feature which does absolutely nothing. It does not clean the stove. You have to go into it and clean it the old-fashioned way with chemicals, gloves, mask and a scrub brush. These products are absolute junk and the customer support is non-existent. Do not buy Whirlpool products.

Bought this side by side, Whirlpool with ice maker and water dispenser in April 2013 at Home Depot. From the beginning, we have NEVER been able to get any chilled water out of the refrigerator. Sometimes the water is even warmer than the water out of the tap. Repeated attempts to fix and now Whirlpool tech Tom, told repairman, sorry this is normal, no refrigerator can guarantee temp of water.” Ive NEVER had a refrigerator with a water dispenser not chill the water much less, come out WARMER! HORRIBLE DESIGN & BAD COMPANY POLICY! Will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product!!! Now its dripping water inside fridge! Model #: WSF26C2EXW01 Ser#: HR30821156

I either bought a lemon or Whirlpool products have really gone downhill. Either way I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product. Between the cost of the repairs and lost food, I am debating about dumping it and buying a new refrigerator.

This $1,000+ Whirlpool Cabrio washer high-efficiency machine should have lasted between 10-15 years, not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5! To expect less is to fall for the consumer cave in - where you just give up, give in and buy another. The Whirlpool tech just told the appliance repair guy that was here that the repair would involve a recirculating water pump and a bearing, and would cost $481 to repair. The appliance repairman said he is not in business to condemn appliances, but said he has a Kenmore top loader at his house. Simple, no electronics and less things to go wrong. Well after researching brands and reading reports, I thought I was buying a machine that would last at least as long as my second hand Maytag. Whirlpool has not heard the end of me. I have heard several other people say the same thing. Repair bills are huge and machines do not hold up. So much for buying quality. Now Im going to contact the MA attorney general for the states implied warranty, which means if you spend your money on any appliance, that appliance has an expected lifetime of service. A $1,000+ machine is not expected to fall apart after a few years.

I purchased a new high-efficiency front load Duet HT Whirlpool washing machine (WFW9200SQ02) in January of 2008 for nearly $1000. I dealt with the mold issues and permeating smell for all these years, but the machine failed catastrophically this month - after just over 3 years - on a $1000 machine! The rear bearing went out. The parts alone are nearly $500 and the labor is estimated to take 3-4 hours by a trained technician. We are talking about an $800 repair --more than a new machine would cost. The most disconcerting part is to see how often this is happening. It is commonplace. The bearings go out on these things, sometimes after only a year or two, sometimes after 3 or 4; but it is very rare to have any machine go longer than 6-7 years. Whirlpool wont do anything. The best chance is forcing a recall related to the class action lawsuits pending about the mold issues, but by that time, how many people will still have their machines?

Ive had my Whirlpool water heater for almost 4 years now and for the last year and a half, I had to have the pilot light lit at least 5 times. I finally got so frustrated around the 3 times and called the company. They gave me instructions on how to light it and to ensure no draft was around the tank. A couple of weeks ago, it went out again and I called. This time I was told to replace the thermocouple. I did that and guess what? Still no hot water. Im a single parent with 2 kids and weve been boiling water just to bath.A service tech came out and told me I need to replace the tank altogether. I called Whirlpool service and they told me it was nothing they can do. Like many of you, I got this tank from Lowes and they will not do anything about it either. Its hurtful and stressful that doing a holiday season, I have to decide to either buy a hot water tank or give my kids a good Christmas. I know several friends and family who has had their tanks a lot longer with no problem. My problem is its a crappy Whirlpool brand with poor customer service.

Model WTW4850OXQO. Purchased this washer in Nov. 2011. Two months ago the washer began making a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle, so loud it can be heard throughout the house. Called the dealer whose serviceman said it was the gearbox and it would need to be replaced. Cost of the gearbox $235.00 plus $165.00 service. Called Whirlpool in TN and was told that I didnt purchase their 1 yr warranty. What the hell is a 1 year warranty but me paying Whirlpool to fix their defective piece of crap in case it breaks in the 1st year. I owned a Kenmore that lasted 11 years, an RCA that lasted 12 years, and a Maytag that lasted 10 years. Never a problem til they died of old age. This piece of ** is breaking down after 3 1/2 years. NEVER buy Whirlpool! Also, the inside of the machine SMELLS. My wife has to use bleach or cleanser to get the smell out. Once again a company in the USA thats too big to care about its customers!

Purchased Whirlpool free standing smooth top range at Sears Outlet (scratch & dent) in Columbus, OH on December 8, 2012 for a rental property. On May 18, 2014, tenant said she turned the oven on to preheat and turned on one of the front burners. She said she was at the sink preparing food and heard a loud noise; turned around and there were flames coming from the top of the stove. This didnt sound logical so I called fire department and spoke with one of the firemen. He said there was no evidence of anything in the oven or on top of the stove. Tenant said only thing she noticed is that there was a clicking noise coming from the stove a few days prior. After reading all of these complaints, I dont think I will buy another smooth top Whirlpool electric range. Luckily no one was hurt.

The duet washer is just over one year old and started showing F25 code on screen. It had been making a really loud noise in the spin cycle. Last week, a really loud noise and then the loads wouldnt be spun. There was a puddle of water on the floor near the machine. We had a repairman out today and he stated that theyre repairing these machines all the time. He stated it was the bearing and that theyd been told that Whirlpool had installed bad bearing from a different supplier. I called the Whirlpool experience and after 4 minutes and 19 seconds, I actually spoke with a service rep. She said since my machine is less than one month over the one year warranty, Id have to call the extended warranty people. I asked for a supervisor and after 2 minutes and 38 seconds, she came in line and wouldnt budge from her story. They also stated that there are no service issues with this model washer. Extremely poor attitude and Whirlpool is doing everyone, whoever purchased a duet washer, a terrible job on these washers. At least, Ive now found out that there are a lot of other folks out there with the same problem. We need to get some attorneys to start a class action just like the mold/smell customers did already. Sad, sad day for Whirlpool as Id been a customer all my life.

My oven was 11 months old when I tried to use the self-clean cycle for the first time. 2 hours into the 4 hour cycle, the oven completely shut down, door locked shut and no lights on the control panel. The repair tech came out on a warranty repair call (no charge), explained that Whirlpool does not use a thermal protector rated for a self-cleaning oven and that it blows every time. He then proceeded to replace it with the same thing because he is only allowed to put in the recommended part, which is not rated for the high temp cleaning cycle. So the oven is usable, but not the self-clean. Since I am at the end of the 1 yr warranty period, even if I were able to get Whirlpool to replace the oven (ha!) there would be no warranty because I only get the original time limit. So if I had a new oven and it blew out, it would not be under warranty for fix/replace. The repair tech said this is a COMMON problem with Whirlpool self-clean.

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side from Lowes and an extended warranty. Immediately maybe a month the ice maker froze. Ice container in the door. Repairman said design is notorious for this problem. This was an ongoing problem. They replaced icemaker and it continued. Finally the warranty people told me it could be deemed a lemon if repaired for the same issue 4 times in a year. They deemed it a LEMON and I received a store credit for the purchase price less the warranty amount. I purchased a new LG French door. No issues and its been 5 years. If you have an extended warranty do some checking on the lemon.

We have purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwashers in 4 years. The first one lasted almost three years and the second just past the warranty. The second one was a $500 dishwasher that we bought new. We filed a claim with Whirlpool and then had to set aside a whole day for the repair person to come. They spent about 10 minutes at our house, charged us $75 and didnt even attempt to look at the dishwasher or fix it. We have sunk almost $1000 into Whirlpool dishwashers since we bought our home 4 years ago. If you want to waste time and money go ahead and buy Whirlpool, otherwise learn from our mistake.

I am a single mother of a 5 year old and I take care of my mother as well. I purchased a whirlpool because I believed them to be reliable, boy was I mistaken! I am in the military and while on an 8-month deployment I got a message from my mother that the washing machine had stopped working. Here is my mother who cannot drive - with laundry bags and a 5 year old in tow walking to the laundromat to wash, only to carry wet laundry back to the house to dry. Thanks a lot Whirlpool! My cousin in Michigan tried to help my mother with the company and a repairman as much as possible from over the phone. Here is what I got:The washer repairman came this morning. He did the diagnosis but I did not approve the replacement parts and repairs. First of all, he said that the motor control board was bad. To replace it with a new board would be $503 and a refurbished one would be $490.03. If the motor control board was replaced, it might fix the problem with the user interface. If not, the cost to replace that would be $302.62.Apparently there are 4 boards that could have problems. He also said there was a problem with the start button. Anyway, we ended up paying for the service call ($129), but I thought the cost for the replacement parts was too much to justify when we could get a new one for about the same cost. He recommended that we get a Service Contract when buying something new because of the cost to replace the parts. While doing some research online, unless you purchase an extended warranty or have experience in 2M; you will be researching new washers every 2-4 yrs. What happened to built to last? It seems to me all this technology/circuit boards/computers to make things work have degraded the appliance quality.Im sorry for the bad news but I just wanted you to have all the info. Let me know what you think. I know the washer is only a little over 2 years.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in 2013 (Model Number WTW8600YW1). It never filled properly with water. It evolved to a sensor and circuit board issue that Whirlpool never totally remedied. Hence, the machine never worked properly. This 800 dollar purchase on an elderly persons limited budget had to be utilized minimally. Now fast forward in 2015, even with minimal usage and white glove handling, the machine is displaying an F51 error. You guessed it, Whirlpool will not remedy the issue, although it is well-documented to be a widespread complaint hence clearly a product defect. Shame on Whirlpool, their business practices, and what amounts to theft of an elderly womans finite income. I have advised my mother to trash the useless Whirlpool appliance and purchase a Kenmore washing machine, of which I have been the proud owner for 10 years, doing laundry for a family of 5.

I wish I had read all these reviews before buying this junk/lemon of a machine. Havent had the machine for a year yet and lots of problems. Only can wash five towels at a time and thats pushing it. Decided I would deal with it, until it gave other problems. First sometimes skipped cycles, then water came in when it was spinning. Called for service. Checking to see if we even can get you service in your area, representative says.About a week later tech comes and puts two parts in and left. Happy to get laundry going but, guess what??? Washes only doesnt do anything else and trying desperately to drain water out. Of course I have to take clothes out and bring to laundry. Tech comes back next day. Now he cant get any cycles to work either. Fried, tech says. Sets me up for next Saturday, fine. Now get a call on Monday, not coming. Tuesday is next appointment. Apparently inventory representative says. Didnt know that before??? Call Whirlpool, service first, then company. I want a new one, this is definitely a lemon. Nope, tech will be there on Tuesday. I hope Whirlpool reads this. They should be ashamed of their company. They used to be good, always bought their products. Dont buy these machines, trust me you dont need the aggravation. Totally disgusted.

I bought these products 2 1/2 years ago along with a dishwasher and Microwave, all which are Gold Series. The first month my Microwave broke. Instead of a certain part that they used to use, they now use a Capacitor instead and it broke. The repairman fixed it under warranty, but told me Ill be seeing you again. Then, my oven occasionally says Function not available. Whirlpool wont tell me what the problem might be and they have nothing for troubleshooting this problem in their manual. My only solution is to reset the circuit breaker and then it works for awhile. Now, My refrigerator has ice building up at the bottom of my freezer and leaking all over my floor. I found a Whirlpool bulletin online which explains that this problem is because of a defective part (Grommet) and that they have a replacement part for it and you can get it by calling their customer service department. Why didnt they send out recall notices to their customers? So, on 8/10/2015 and 8/11/2015 I tried getting this new p-trap part, but for two days now Whirlpools computers arent working and they have no other way of looking this stuff up. Very poor customer service and I also waited for a half hour on the phone to be told their computers arent working. How about putting a message on their pre-recorded message letting customers know their computers arent working?

Bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in 2/2013. In 5/2014, the washer went out of balance, but corrected itself quickly. Since then, it sounds like a cement mixer during the spin cycle. It took one month to get someone to come out and look at it. Apparently the bearings went and the part alone costs $450! Add another $250-$300 for labor and I could buy another washer. We called Whirlpool, who were unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation, i.e., replace the washer, send a replacement part, give us a discount on the replacement part. We didnt buy the extended warranty because who would think that a brand new washer would crap out after 15 months... and theres only the two of us.Not like Im washing clothes for a family of 5! I only needed a new washer/dryer because I moved out of state and didnt want to move the ones I had. Regretting that decision. Its unfortunate that there has been a decline in the manufacturing of goods to the point that they can be considered a throw away item. Will NOT be replacing this with another Whirlpool.

Then after a couple of years the pull handle came off! The whole time we had to be careful the door was closing properly. It was problematic. Ive owned (and re-sold) about a dozen fridges in my life. On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!

When we bought our house the Matching set of Whirlpool Cabrio Platinums came with it as they were new. I decided to keep them and sell my LG Troms.Absolutely the worst mistake was keeping these Whirlpools. Who in their right mind would consider a washer with no agitator a washing machine? The clothes just sit and do nothing. They don’t get clean at all. Its a complete pile of useless junk and the person or persons who engineered it shouldn’t even be in charge of designing birdhouses.Whirlpool themselves should be ashamed to put out such a pile of garbage to the consumer. Our house came with all new Whirlpool appliances and we are going to replace them all and never give Whirlpool a look again. Whatever you do don’t fall for the shiny unit, slick salesmen. Because all youre going to get with Whirlpools washer is all talk and zero action. Thanks for the not so clean clothes Whirlpool. The local laundry mat thanks you when I need to actually clean my clothes.

In 2/2007, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Load Washer (GHW9400PW) and have had constant F06 failures. After the repairman debrided the pump, he felt the issue might be electrical, if not resolved, it will fail again. Now, it needs a $400 to $500 electrical system and cannot be guaranteed that will end failures as these washers have had many problems. It cost $1000 and only lasted 4 years before the failures appeared. Whirlpool only offers a one-year warranty, which is not enough to cover the future problems these machines are prone to developing.

The Weatherization program installed a whirlpool refrigerator in our home in October 2012. The fridge is less than 2 years old and the blower fan went out. We lost most of our food (what wouldnt keep in a cooler) and my daughters insulin spoiled. When they put this fridge in, they took our old one saying it was less efficient. Now we are stuck with a fridge that doesnt work and is out of warranty at less than 2 years old. We have left several messages for a Whirlpool representative to call us back and here we are, one week later, and no call back. This is frustrating because although the fridge we had may not have been as energy efficient, I am almost certain that it would still be working. I have never heard of a fridge that lasts less than 2 years. Also, we know that the blower fan must be a common problem because they are back-ordered approx. one month. We checked online, and called local businesses and not one place has the part available.I think we at least deserve a call back considering how stressful this has been on us. I had just spent all of my grocery money for the month, and 70% of it went bad and had to be thrown away. Money is tight for us and replacing spoiled food is not an option. Also, the insurance company denied our request to refill my daughters insulin a little early. Without proper refrigeration the insulin goes bad. The insurance doesnt replace lost or spoiled medication. Guess we get to pay for that too! Thanks so much Whirlpool! Ill be sure and highly recommend your products to my friends. (NOT GONNA HAPPEN.)

I bought a Duet front load washer and dryer set in January 2009 from our local Lowes. Spin cycle noise progressively got louder over time to the point we contacted our locally owned service company to check it out in June 2011. Cause is defective shell and spin tub, total repair cost $750. This was about the original cost of the washer! I contacted Whirlpool via e-mail (wait time via their phone is outrageous), they wont do anything. Out of warranty. Up until now, Whirlpool has had a good name with me. Not anymore. I will never buy anything Whirlpool manufactured ever again. (Maytag, Kenmore, maybe more brands.)American companys insensitivity such as this is what gives some of American industry a bad name and drives consumers away to quality foreign brands made in Europe: German, Swiss, Italian, Swedish, etc.Im going to take a hard look at Bosch washers to replace this Whirlpool piece of junk.

I purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer on 12/1/12. I started getting an F1 fault and all the lights on the machine light up like a Christmas tree during cycles now. I thought I would research Google to see if others were having the same problem. I was VERY disappointed to see all of the same issues others were having with this high end washer. Without even calling a repairman, I know that this motherboard fix is $400+ based on all of the negative feedback. We have a large Whirlpool plant in my hometown, and I hate to see the lack of resolve by Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool High Efficiency washer and dryer (Model WED4900XWO) from Lowes in March 2013. This washer has performed miserably. I dread each day when I have to use it. The groaning sound is annoying. My husband and I try to leave the house when the washer is being used. We have tried all cycles and combinations of cleaning detergents to get clothes to come out clean. On a regular basis white clothes will come out with spots or discolored to the point the clothes have to be thrown in trash. This is the worst washing machine I have ever used. I will never buy another Whirlpool product.

Whirlpool Cabrio - I have had the same experience as those others that have written reviews - over $1,600.00 (on sale) - approximately 3 years old and I was just informed by a service repairman that water has leaked from the center of the tub into the motor and it is trashed. I went to the Whirlpool website to chat with a representative and they are sorry but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee there will be no repairs or parts replacements needed as components do deteriorate or fail on occasion due to factors over which we have no control - they went on to say that since the washer is approximately 3 years old there would be no assistance that we would be able to provide toward repairs. I agree that a class action suit should be considered since Whirlpool is taking no responsibility for a machine that costs too much - makes your clothes smell and lasts for such a short time. Highway robbery!! The dryer is no better but at least it is still working (today anyway!).

On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. Now July 20th, 2015, the same issue has surfaced. Again the ice maker will not work and the freezer wont freeze. I would not recommend this product or if you do pay the extended warranty.

Now they say “Sorry Charlie, the warranty has expired.” The water heater has never been fixed. They just dragged it along until the warranty expired. Whirlpool has no complaint department or the repair place will not give it to you. They told me there would be no use for a complaint department. Whirlpool - Back in the 1980s we had Whirlpool appliances that lasted for many, many years. We are now in our mid 60s and retired. We purchased a new home 2-1/2 years ago. Whirlpool appliances were provided with our new home. We were quite pleased at the time. However, we are now sorry we have them.We are very easy on everything we own. When we replace appliances, cars, furniture, etc. we are generally able to sell our used items, which are always in great condition. Unfortunately, this is not the case with our current appliances. I will list the many problems.Combo range hood/microwave oven: it vented absolutely nothing. The microwave oven had its own set of just plain silly issues with the manner in which the touchpad had to be set. The oven did at least work. 2/2013 we had a Broan range hood installed and vented to the outside and purchased a Whirlpool countertop microwave oven. Again we had the little issues with using the touchpad plus the door was very hard to open. This countertop microwave oven failed 1/2015, less than a year of usage. At this time we purchased a Panasonic microwave that is much simpler to use.The Smooth-top range/oven looks nice. It is the most inconsistent range/oven we have ever owned. You cannot lower the cooktop burners to simmer. There is no simmer. On that setting it may as well be turned off. I can set it at about 9 oclock on the dial and some days that may be simmer. Others days it could be higher. Overall, the burners have no consistency. The oven cools quickly and I must be mindful not to toss in a 2nd sheet of cookies without checking the temperature. I have never had to do this on any other oven we have owned. The dishwasher does clean my dishes, thank goodness. However, I have had 2 service calls (under warranty) for a little gasket (hinge pad) which keeps the door propped a bit while loading the silverware into the basket. This piece has failed a third time I will just live without being able to prop the door. And then there is the silverware basket. Each piece must be loaded, handle first, into the slots on the basket. Of course, some of my silverware has wider handles so this does not work well. Such a poor design. The refrigerator was my pride and joy. We paid the extra charge for the French door style instead of the side-by-side style that came with the house. My charges here are more serious. 2 of the little door shelves have broken. Oddly enough these are small shelves which have some items on them that are not used often. If I choose to replace them, it will cost me over 25.00 for each of these little gems. Now, a piece of plastic on the veggie drawer has broken so I must be mindful not to let the drawer drop.Worst of all was the last service call out of warranty. I had standing water/ice on the floor of the freezer. Apparently this was due to a poor design and my service man replaced it with a new P-Trap that actually works. Yes, the original design was bad, yet I still had to pay for the replacement. Seems like this should have been a recall and replaced free of charge. Instead my total charge was 144.06. UGH!!! Now, I do understand I was likely provided bottom of the line appliances with my new home, but to have issues with all of them is ridiculous.

We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher (Ser# F21102027MOD, Model# WDF730PAYB2) after reading some of the reports that it was just as good as a Bosch. Wrong! We bought this washer March 17. On May 17, the selector switch and sub control broke down. We had bought this item at the HH Gregg store here, and also purchased a 5-year warranty which they said we cannot use because the dishwasher is only 2 months old. Is there a lemon law? And what makes this worse is that we called Whirlpool on May 18th. They could not get anyone out here until May 25th to look at it. As of this time, they still could not fix it because the two parts had to be ordered. Today is June 1st and the part is still not in? Makes me think, does this part always go down because its on back order? So you are fully warned, do not purchase a Whirlpool. If I can get some extra money, I am throwing it out and buy a Bosch because I dont think it will ever be fixed.

I purchased my whirlpool washer on 01/24/2011 and I purchased a 5 yr extended warranty at the time of purchase. My washer broke down. I called the whirlpool co. After 5 mins getting through the phone prompts and another 30 mins on hold I finally spoke with a rep name Ashley who state that there was no account or record of my warranty. She connected me to another department where I spoke with Eva. I was advised that since the company that sold me the warranty was out of business whirlpool would set up an account for me if I faxed the information documenting my original purchase. I faxed the information, waited three days without a response. I called today went through the phone prompts and could not reach the reps I spoke with before. The reps today were not helpful and refused to even try to get me to the reps I spoke with before. I was advised that the previous reps provided inaccurate information. If an appliance comes with a one year warranty and a consumer purchases a 5 yr extended warranty should it be added to the 1 yr or is the first year included in the 5yrs? Wouldnt it only be a 4 yr extended warranty if that were the case? I am very disappointed in the lack of quality of my washer and misrepresentation that was communicated by whirlpool reps. At the very least they should answer the phone promptly and honor the commitment to repair products. This is the case number (**) I was provided the first time I called, but it is not recognized by the reps I spoke with the 2nd time. I was provided 866.368.6478 as a contact# and a fax#. I faxed my receipts to that number as instructed.

I purchased a Whirlpool 12-gallon point-of-use water heater as a booster when I was going to get a tankless and when we decided that we didnt need a tankless, I tried to get an RA number through the manufacturer so that the store could give me credit, as it says directly on the water heater, Do not return to store. They said there is nothing that they will do and it cant be returned to the store. So, what am I supposed to do with this water heater now? Before I knew this was going to happen, I purchased a 50-gallon Whirlpool water heater as well. The technician didnt even file a report and lied to me about what was wrong with the fridge. They sent a different company to come look at it and they confirmed that the compressor is broken. I called Whirlpool customer service and was told that the warranty only covers repairs not replacement even though I paid over $1,000 for a defective product. The excuse: Its a man-made product so we cant guarantee it! So what used to be a 3-5 year warranty not too long ago is now what? A one-year warranty is virtually useless. I can see a future not too far off where there is no warranty at all. Where is the protection for the buyer? If I wanted to purchase a second-hand fridge, I would have. I called Whirlpool, and then I accessed Whirlpool online and scheduled service with their official service representative - Flamingo Appliance Service ** for September 9, 2020. When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! I purchased this washer 4.5 years ago. I have always been a Whirlpool customer. My parents had Whirlpool washer and dryer while I was growing up in the 60s. When I got married in 1976 I bought a Whirlpool washer, dryer and refrigerator. They lasted 19 years!!! Then I replaced all 3 in 1995. Again, lasted 16 years. I gave the washer and dryer to my sons when they moved out--its still working. So I thought I would reward myself with a new Whirlpool washer and dryer in August 2011. I didnt know about the pitfalls with the high efficiency washers. The dryer is great, but I HATE my washer! The lid lock is ridiculous, we should be given an option to override it. The sensing takes forever. The low water level leaves clothes unclean, and with detergent residue, causing the need for another rinse cycle. This saves no water if you have to run it twice. Not to mention how long it takes to do a load. Then it doesnt spin all the water out and you have to run a spin cycle. It aggravates me every time I do laundry. After being a Whirlpool customer for over 35 years, its time to move on. I just ordered a GE machine that is old school, no sensors, no lid lock, and I can control the level of water. Whirlpool doesnt make these simple machines anymore. Youre going to lose a lot of customers if you keep selling the trash. This is the worse washer I have ever had. My adult son went into a rage last night trying to use it, he forced the lid open and broke the lock, and of course it wont work at all without the lock. Good thing I ordered the GE washer the day before, it will be here in a few days. Cant wait to bash the Whirlpool with a sledge hammer, it will give us great satisfaction! Are you listening Whirlpool? Your designers need to go back to the drawing board. I realize this is not just a Whirlpool problem. Ive seen complaints about kenmore and every other manufacturer that makes these stupid low water sensing machines with lock lids. If consumers are too stupid to keep their kids out of the washing machine, maybe they should have their kids taken away.

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater with the Flame Lock Safety System on 6/4/12. When installing the water heater, the cold water pipe would not screw into the top of the water heater. I exchanged this water heater for a new water heater of the same make and model. I brought this water heater home and had it installed and noticed that the flame on the burner was orange and too high. I called the 877-817-6750 number for warranty and was told by the customer service rep that it was either the gas regulator or the orifice inside the water heater. I was told to contact a plumber to take care of this issue and it was not a warranty claim and not their problem. I then went to the Lowes store where I purchased the unit and spoke to a manager. The manager called the same number I called and was told the same thing, that I was responsible for the repairs to the unit. How can this not be covered? Both pieces are internal to the unit and were never touched during installation. We sit it up, see the back side bulge out and with some searching we discovered the balance thingy was broke. Now I bought April 2012 while going through Chemo May 2014. I burying my washing. Call Whirlpool. Well they say I file this away sorry about your luck - lol. Do not buy this washer unless you want another one in two years junk and they will not help. Well they will if you give them more. The 1400 dollars I already gave them for the set is not enough.

I purchased a Whirlpool French door refrigerator model # gx5fhdxvyo4 in June 2011. Four months ago, ice was forming on the bottom of the freezer. Repair person replaced a clogged plug leading to evaporation tray. Its March 2013 and repair person now has to replace evaporator motor part # W10128551. I contacted Whirlpool and was told the warranty has expired (one year). This repair will be around $175. How can I trust a Whirlpool product in the future?

The felt drum gasket came off our 6 month old Whirlpool Cabrio dryer purchased through KB homes. When I contacted the helpline on the 16th of May I was promptly set up with an appointment on the 18th of May. On the 18th I called to confirm a time and the company that whirlpool subcontracts in San Antonio, said they had no appointment for that day and the soonest they could get out here was June 1. I contacted Whirlpool to let them know this wasnt acceptable and I received many apologies and I understand how you feels. I asked how is it you have one company in all of San Antonio to service our dryer? Again more apologies. Then I asked since when does only apologizing and saying, I understand your feeling, be the end all of your customer service? No reply to that so I called Sears who promptly had a repairman out to the tune of $200 bucks with my military discount. Never again Whirlpool.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio model # WTW6400SW3 in 04/08. Approx. 6 months ago, the washer started to be un-level during the spin cycle. This has progressively become worse, it now becomes un-level during the rinse cycle. We spoke with the appliance store where we purchased it, ;hey said the repairs could cost $400 or more. Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

Purchased in January of 2014: Brand new Whirlpool WOS51EC7AS01 model oven - interior bottom metal has buckled causing the enamel to crack and break off from oven bottom. I registered all my new appliances immediately for warranty. When this happened after the fourth or fifth time baking in the oven, I called Whirlpool to get a service person to look at it. First person Whirlpool scheduled to come out refused to even come out, without looking at my oven. He said he knew we did something wrong? They immediately set up a second service person, after two weeks waiting for an answer; I had to call him (twice). He said that his report and pictures sent into Whirlpool shows normal use and there is nothing wrong with our oven? So, Whirlpool will do nothing to repair the oven? We just spent almost $4,000.00 on all new Whirlpool appliances, and this is how we get treated? WOW! Never again will I ever purchase a Whirlpool product. The enamel is gone in spots from our oven floor. How long do they think that will last with no protective coating on the oven? Terrible customer service.

I have a Cabrio washer displaying the F-1 error code. I called on Thursday, the 15th of Sept. I spoke to Vicky in the Cleveland, TN division. She told me that the F-1 code on my machine (model no. WTW6600SW2 and serial no. **) was covered under a recall at no cost, parts or labor (I specifically asked this question). She set up a service repair ticket with Freds Appliance at 888-453-7337 and gave me the date. I was home waiting when they called. The driver drove in the drive and asked if he was there for my Jenn-Air cook top! I said no, the F-1 error code on the washer. He explained that he had just used the last control board last week and he changes them frequently. I called Whirlpool. A very snotty Ashley proceeded to tell me that nothing was covered and I would have to pay. I asked for a supervisor and Ratna answered after a hold of 45 minutes on my cell. I explained the situation. After begging, she proceeded to tell me that she would pay for parts only. I explained that the tech did not have the parts, didnt even know the correct appliance, and now I have to take another day off work to meet him to have my washer fixed. I have not used the washer in two weeks. I used to only buy Whirlpool products. After reading all the complaints about the same error code from other consumers, I believe there are enough complaints that we as consumers should be protected.

When we bought our side by side fridge (model GD5RVAXVB02), the manual said to clean the condenser coils if you have excess dust and/or pet hair. We have both. We tried with the vacuum and with a brush but it is impossible to get to the coils because they run side to side instead of front to back. You can only get to the first coil in front. The rest cant be accessed from the front, sides or back. I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool product
I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

Weve had this washer for about 9 months now. We noticed that the loads being washed small or large werent coming out clean. When wash cycle finished items were covered in soap residue and or had large dry spots where water had never touched the area. When our sheets were washed in bulky/sheet cycle and deep water this happened. Maytag sent out repair person to find the water pump went bad, pump was replaced. After repair same bad washing results as stated previously. Maytag then sent out repair person for the second time. This time the main electrical board was replaced. Still after two repairs wash loads are still coming out dirty, soapy, dry in spots in any of the selected wash cycles large or small. Third call to Maytag and a third scheduled repair date coming up in a few day. Over the phone the Maytag employee only words of wisdom was, Did you buy the extended warranty. So unless there is a third failure I believe that this washer is just a poor design.

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer set 2 1/2 years ago (Jan. 2009). I have 4 kids and do lots of laundry. This is THE WORST appliance, namely washer, I have ever owned! I so wish I had researched this product more. I ditto everything that has been said about this washer. It tore up so many items of clothing, I lost count and does a horrible job of getting stains out. I contacted Whirlpool on several occasions only to be told that they would send a technician out to see if there was something wrong. The technician would report that the washer was working properly and Whirlpool would then tell me, sorry, we cant do anything about it. I asked them if a washer was supposed to clean your clothes and unravel them? Yes, it is supposed to clean them. Well, its not doing that. No, it is not supposed to unravel and destroy them but well, it IS doing that! Therefore, the washer is not working properly. Just because a technician can not physically find something wrong with it, doesnt mean it is a poor functioning washer. This company should better learn very soon that you must stand behind the QUALITY of your products or you will soon be out of business. I will never purchase Whirlpool products ever again nor would I recommend it to anyone!

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

I have a pretty small refrigerator since I live in a condo. It has lasted me about 4 years and is still running very well. It is very easy to clean. I dont buy a whole lot of food at one time. The size is big enough to hold what I buy every week. The appearance is decent. Only two people use it every day. I havent had any problems with the refrigerator in the four years I have had it. I get frustrated sometimes when opening up the bottom storage container. If I pull it out too far, it falls to the floor. This happens especially when the container is full of fruits and vegetables. I guess bottom storage container was designed that way for easy removal to be cleaned. I really like the adjustable shelves. I can adjust them perfectly to store food containers and jugs of milk and other drinks. I like the door shelves in the freezer compartment. It is great for small packages of vegetables.

I am excited that I found this site, putting it in Favorites! Using the advice from ConsumerReports, we purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door refrigerator model GI 6SDRXXY02. We were looking forward to the energy efficiency reported. I blamed the kids and my husband when the water started appearing on the floor by the refrigerator. After a while, I started investigating and I saw the sheets of ice that had formed in the bottom of the freezer. Several times, I removed the ice, only for it to form and start leaking on the floor weeks later. We discovered the drain was frozen and that during the defrost mode, water would freeze in the bottom, and once the ice was too high, the water would flow over the ice onto the floor. My husband has unloaded the freezer and defrosted the drain with a hair dryer several times. So sick of this!! We never received a recall notice and of course, the warranty is out. I wish we hadnt paid so much for this refrigerator. It would have been out by the curb months ago. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and getting new cabinets. I will have to dispose of this expensive refrigerator. UGH, money down the drain!! We wont buy a Whirlpool!!!

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

Think twice before buying Whirlpool appliances. In our experience, quality and durability are a real issue. Here is our story. 5 years ago we built a winter vacation home. We bought brand new Whirlpool appliances from a reputable vendor at full price. Washer, dryer, double oven, and refrigerator. The washer arrived damaged. The damage was a button that was depressed and could not be released. This was brand new washer, never used, but Whirlpool insisted that we had caused the damage. It was only after the vendors tech got involved that Whirlpool relented and sent a repair tech.Next, the bottom oven door came apart in my hands after just days of use. I had to fight (yes fight and argue!) with Whirlpool customer service to send a repair tech. Finally after much arguing Whirlpool sent a tech and the oven door was repaired. The tech told us that this was a common defect! (Shame on you Whirlpool!) So why you might ask, why am I complaining? Well this is a vacation home. We are here 3 months a year (times 4 years = 1 year of very light use) and today the oven door came apart in my hands again. That makes twice in 12 months of light use. Frankly, this is shameful! I do not understand how this company gets away with it!I am disgusted with Whirlpool crap quality and crap customer service and I want everyone to know what they can expect when buying Whirlpool. I suggest you check all available reviews before placing your order for anything from Whirlpool. As for this new oven door repair? Ill report again after talking with Whirlpool but I expect to be told Sorry sucker, the warranty is over! Buyer beware!

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. Or it will keep going even if the door is open. I contacted BBB and the Whirlpool corporation regarding this safety issue. I pointed out that the safety mechanism is faulty and they should recall all of those models that have similar issue with door sensor. This is extremely dangerous for households with kids. There is a reason why this safety mechanism is mandatory in all microwaves! Whirlpool pointed out to me that I should not try to operate microwave with open door and refused to take any responsibility. I had started the dishwasher and had gone to bed last night. I came downstairs ten minutes later to get a bottle of water. There was smoke throughout my downstairs levels. Our Whirlpool Gold Dishwashers control had dark, noxious smoke emitting from it. I tried to turn it off but it was too hot to touch. I went to the breaker box and shut it off there, turned on fans, and went back to bed. This morning, it turned the electricity back on. It started smoking again. I tried to cancel the cycle but it wouldnt cancel. I opened the door to stop the cycle and it continued spraying water and still wouldnt shut down. I had to shut it off at the breaker again. Next problem is my refrigerator, washer and dryer are all on the same breaker. UGH! This is the second Whirlpool I have had. The first one had a rusted tub that leaked into our basement. As part of a new home purchase from Pulte, the combo oven/microwave can with the house. After one year of usage, the oven liner started the pile and crack. We have a two year Whirlpool warranty through Pulte our builder. When we called the dedicated line for Whirlpool-Pulte to report the issue, we were told that Whirlpool must send a technician to take pictures and see what is going on. The technician shows up and declares that the oven is damaged and repairable. But Whirlpool reject to replace the unit claiming that this is a cosmetic issue and it must have been reported to them within 30 days from buying the home, as this is their policy for cosmetic issues. We did some research on our own and we found out that Blue color liner ovens have a well known issue, but Whirlpool keeps putting these into their products. Our builder is not able to get them to replace the unit as well. I will not ever buy any of Whirlpool products. Be aware if you want to purchase any Whirlpool appliances, warranty to them means nothing, even when they know that they are shipping products that have faulty into consumers.

We remodeled our kitchen and my wife liked Whirlpool, I didnt, but I went with her since she got a good deal with Lowes. We bought a microwave, dishwasher, stove, and fridge. I cant wait till all of it craps out! Going back to Sears! In less than a year I have replaced the stove and stove, the fridge sucks. The fridge already had a defect with a water leak, damaged my hardwood floors!!!! Still waiting on Whirlpool for my floors. The dishwasher never cleans, it always stinks. The stove does not self clean, the handles dont stay tight, shall I go on!

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband
Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

Purchased Duet Washer and Dryer just over a year ago. Recently liquid detergent has been seeping into the tumbler and damaging clothes if theyre not removed immediately after wash in complete. The precision dispenser cartridge is the culprit in my opinion. Its suppose to dispense detergent as needed however it doesnt stop dispensing. Called Whirlpool and received no satisfaction. I would not recommend the Duet washer as a new purchase. I have to pay the price for Whirlpools experimental dispensing device and I dont think its fair. Its a flawed device and they should fix it.

The drawer guides on the large clear drawer at the top of the whirlpool refrigerator are very flimsy causing the drawer to drop when pulled out to the stop. When I called about this I was told it was cosmetic and not covered under warranty. I purchased the extended warranty which will replace the flimsy parts with the same flimsy parts. On 6/24/2024 Denisia sent me new side rails, exactly the type I have. I replaced them but the right side one broke. I regret ever owning one and will not recommend a whirlpool product to anyone. It is very obvious to anyone, after using this product, that that particular part is not safe and is definitely more than a cosmetic problem. I have already dumped the contents on the floor once and have just managed to catch it more times than I care to count. I spoke with Danielle on 5/14/2014. She sent the small plastic drawer that goes on the bottom.

We purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in August of 2014 (Model #WDT710PAYM6)
We purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in August of 2014 (Model #WDT710PAYM6) and it broke for the first time in the summertime of 2015, so it was still under warranty. The manufacturer set us up with a local company to fix it. First of all, the guy comes out to look at it and has no parts with him whatsoever to fix it once he figures out the problem. So we ended up waiting for over a month before our dishwasher was fixed. That is a long time to have to hand wash dishes, especially with the amount that we go through each day. I know that ranting about having to hand wash dishes is such a first world problem thing to complain about, but my gosh...if I buy a brand new dishwasher for a good amount of money, I shouldnt have to hand wash my stupid dishes!!It has now broken AGAIN and it is no longer under warranty. We called Whirlpool to see what they could do because it should not be breaking this often. They told us we could either spend $250 for a years worth of maintenance on it, or just pay out of pocket. So you want me to pay $250 or more to fix a dishwasher that we spent over $400 on that has broken twice in a year??? Ive been looking on their website for this model to leave a review and cannot find it, so that leads me to believe that it is discontinued. So thank you, Whirlpool for the piece-of-crap dishwasher. I can see you really take care of your customers when they call about their concerns too. I will NEVER buy any Whirlpool appliance again, and I will be sure to let all of my friends know they shouldnt either. If I could rate this with negative stars I would. So now we have to go out and purchase another dishwasher. Thank God Cyber Monday is here. So I cannot say it enough, do not, do not, do not buy a Whirlpool. If you do, youll find its actually a Whirl-poo, because its a POS.
