Whirlpool Duet - they are highly rated and are aesthetically pleasing. Highly rated, they are expensive, my last Duet w/d didnt last as long as expected. Ive had to repair both machines once since I purchased them. Good quality is of utmost importance, plenty of washing and drying options, front loading washing machine, full size extra large capacity, attractive machines, good reputation for quality and lack of repairs.

We purchased our Whirlpool french door refrigerator with bottom freezer from Lowes. A few months after purchasing, we noticed a pool of water on the floor, resulting from what looked like a leak coming from the ice maker. After contacting customer service, they sent a repair company to service the fridge. This rep stayed no longer than 5 minutes and barely looked at the appliance. He said my refrigerator was not under warranty, which was **, as I personally registered the refrigerator the day it was. My kitchen floor is ruined as a result. I will NEVER purchase another product from this company again. They seemingly left a faulty product on the market and failed to inform me about the known issue. Then they failed to quickly provide needed repair or replacement in a timely manner. They also refuse to reimburse me for the food loss, which would not have ever occurred had they handled the issue appropriately from the beginning. TERRIBLE company. In addition, since Lowes is aware of the reputation of this company and continue to sell their defective products... I will not be shopping at Lowes anymore! Both this companies should NOT be in business!!!

Cabrio Washer - Absolutely the worst thing I have ever bought... everyone told me to stay away from this brand. Bought in 2011... large tub... nothing but problems. My last washer was great... full tub with water, could soak or pre-wash. This one does nothing except create some kind of lint all over my clothes no matter what setting... I dont care about water usage (mine is free) but I do care it takes 50 mins to do a load where my other was exactly 20 mins (and it lasted me over 30 yrs!). This really sucks. I have seen other complaints but never a recall!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

When I grew up, my mom and dad had a Whirlpool dishwasher and it was the ONLY dishwasher we EVER had. The SAME one, for over 20 years! So, with confidence, I purchased a mid-range unit. (over $600 2015). By 2016, ONE year later, I was already buying replacement parts because the top rack was falling apart and the bottom spinner broke as well. The parts were extremely expensive and hard to find. Now, a mere 4 years later, you cannot find ANY parts for this machine and there are so many issues with the unit. It is no longer functioning. When it did work it ran for 4 HOURS!! Even then, the dishes are filthy. I am so upset by whirlpool. I want a full refund from the company for treating their loyal customer so badly.

We bought a top loaded Whirlpool washer, model WTW5000DW2 last May from Lowe’s for a summer beach cottage. It has been a terrible experience. There was a 30 day warranty from Lowe’s which unfortunately we missed because we had not moved down for the summer till after the 30 days. Working through Whirlpool, they sent an independent contractor out 5 times over the summer. Control panel was replaced twice. It never worked properly. I’m now back for the summer, and it still does not work. Do not buy this washer.

Purchased washer Aug 2012 and has increasingly been leaving white residue after wash cycles. Have used the Extra Rinse function to no avail and use half the recommended amount of HE Tide. Now I have to run the Rinse, Drain, Spin function twice with darks to remove the residue. I have also been doing the monthly maintenance which has not helped at all. This machine seriously detracts from the Whirlpool name and if they are unwilling to fix the problem, it only publicly displays the companys integrity.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2FHDXWS from Best Buy in July, 2012. I began freezing up immediately. Called Best Buy. They replaced it. Now the second one quit. Freezer doesnt work. Refrigerator motor works constantly. Called Whirlpool and was informed unit only has one year warranty. Got an estimate to repair it. Evidently, sealed unit needs to be replaced at $700. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. Will not deal with a company that will not stand by its products.

My microwave came with my house. I didnt choose it but it has been a great brand. I love the preset timers for defrosting & for popcorn. Its big enough to handle an 8x8 pan which was important to me. The turntable could be more stable. My model is a built in over the oven option. Black & digital. It has lots of preset options & is pretty user friendly. I like the size & it is super quiet.

This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especia
This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

We purchased both the Cabrio Whirlpool washer and dryer approx. 3 years ago, while still under the manufacturers warranty the lid cracked upper right corner. It was replaced and we were told by the repairman at that time this is becoming a common problem that he himself has seen this exact failure to several of these washers. Whirlpool needs to fix the problem. Shortly after this happened we receive in the mail the information for the extended warranty. Due to having this already happen, I phoned the extended warranty department for Whirlpool and specifically asked if this same thing happens again will it be covered under the extended warranty. My answer Yes.Well it happened again, called extended warranty provided them with a detailed description of what happened, they would send someone to replace, the service gentleman arrived today, called Whirlpool and they denied the claim. So they LIED. I instill honesty in my children and am proud to say I hold honesty as a high value. We were told it was cosmetic, the glass is buckled and the lid has to be held down to engage the lock mechanism of the lid. COSMETIC, this is a SAFETY concern. Where have our American values gone... Whirlpool used to have them back in the day... Shame on you Whirlpool.

I feel Whirlpool has a terrific portable dishwasher. I really like the way it is set up and it is a very nice looking unit. They could improve on their customer service towards their customers. My dishwasher got a crack in it at the top of the door where you open it and they would not send anyone out to fix it for me. I paid a pretty penny for this dishwasher and felt they should have fixed it for me. This happened in the 1 year warranty period. Otherwise I am very happy with it. I had previously had another one that lasted me 14 years.

We purchased a number of Whirlpool appliances (dishwasher, double door refrigerator, Duet stackable washer and dryer). After 14 months, the ice maker broke. $200 later, it was repaired with an upgraded kit.Last week, the washer error coded and the door locked so we could not get out the wet clothes. Called customer (no) service and they advised that we needed to call a service tech because he has a special tool to unlock the door. I stopped by our local appliance store and the counter person told me how to open the door. Had the tech come out for $70 and it could be the lock mechanism or the control panel. It turns out to be the control panel, which costs $250 + labor and would total to around $500, give or take a little. We are in our 60s, my wife does not take in laundry and the ice dispenser was seldom used because I can sneeze ice faster than this can dispense it so I open the freezer door to get my ice.The tech and the store clerk said that these were common problems with these machines. This was a major expense when purchased. So far, the dish washer has not had any problems, but tonight might be the night. The reason we bought Whirlpool is because of the Maytag connection, now that is in the same toilet.

The washing machine does not wash the clothes. It does not clean the clothes and goes off balance all the time. I have had it 9 months and waited to write the review to make sure I using it properly and giving it a chance but to no avail. It is awful. It leaves white lines on the dark clothes and does not take makeup stains out of the white towels. Those are just a few examples. The clothes have to be washed sometimes twice to feel they are clean enough. So it is not cost effective and uses more water which is counter productive to the HE.

This is the worst washing machine we have ever owned. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set at Lowe’s in Loganville, GA on 04/11/2010. Today is 02/22/2013 and the transmission is shot in the washer. It began making an extremely loud and terrible noise during the rinse and spin cycle. We called a local and trusted appliance repairman, and after his diagnosis including estimate to repair the washer, it totaled over $525.00. This is a terrible washer. I will never ever buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Oh, forgot to mention we have purchased four (4) major appliances from Lowes over the past 2 1/2 years in addition to purchases for our plumbing business and wont do it again! Also, Whirlpool couldn’t care less and there is just one complaint after another for the exact same problem online.

I purchased a refrigerator Model# WRF736SDAW12 on 8/9/14 and from day two, Ive had nothing but problems with the ice maker. We NEVER use crushed ice, but we get a lot of crushed along with cubed and crushed/shards of ice all over my fridge, hands and floor. My daughter (wearing her heels) already slipped and fell while walking past the fridge, not realizing that there was ice lying on the floor because my floor is light/multicolored, so we cant see the ice. After several calls, the repair person replaced all the components of the ice maker and the repair person was told (2/26/15) from the Whirlpool tech that we would just have to live with the problem because its normal and he was advised to tell me to get a larger glass. The repair person looked at my glass, seeing that it was already large, shook his head and said Whirlpool must want me to start using a bowl to catch all the ice. I couldnt believe it?! I bought this fridge expecting to receive ONLY cubed ice and yet I dont, so Im sure why they put that cubed feature on there when I cant utilize it. I only want a little ice, but the first thing that comes out is the crushed ice, and in order for me to receive more cubed ice, I have to fill up the entire cup that includes the crushed/shards of ice which floats to the top and ends up in my mouth. Thats the purpose of me selecting cubed, so I dont have to drink it!After the repair man left, I called customer service (2/26/15) and she told me that ice gets stuck in the chute?, so thats why I get crushed ice, but its normal she says. How is that normal? Please read all the reviews/complaints from both the Whirlpools and on Home Depots website for this model and you’ll see this is a problem, there is a flaw in the design.I cant believe a big company such as Whirlpool would treat me so poorly and brush me off like this. After the many posts I put on their Facebook page, they over and over say they will be in contact with me. I have yet to hear from them. I found another story on Pissed Consumer where a senior fell due to the ice falling all over the floor, so its not just me that it has happened to. Theyre putting people in a hazardous situation and they dont care.I have an autistic son who gets ice constantly, I can’t supervise his every move and I’m not able to keep up with his dropped ice nor can he remember to look down for it. I’m concerned that next time my daughter falls; she won’t be so lucky and could sprain or break something. How about my visitors? Do I worry about them suing me when they fall? I’m not so annoyed at the fact that I step on water with my dry socks or the 24/7 noise from the motor or the left door not shutting all the way than I am with the safety of my family.

My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearing
My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearings. I replaced the Whirlpool Duet Front Loader Washer Bearing & Seal Kit W10253866, W10253856 but because the bearings were damaged the drum is also damaged. When I opened the rear panel of the washer the bearings had literally come apart and bearings fell out. All of the floor and the oil/grease was everywhere. I replaced the bearings but it didnt matter because the drum is warped. Priced the drum and it is nearly $400.00 to replace the assembly. The cost of the drum assembly is about half the cost of a new washer. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again. Just a shame that the cost of a replacement drum is so high. What caused the bearings to just explode and damage the drum. What did I do to cause this? Absolutely nothing. I have since discovered that this is has happened to scores of people with this same washer.

We purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum W10405142B washer and dryer just over 3 years ago. We decided to go back to the top load as we were having so many issues with odor from our front load. We purchased the set at a Sears store in Timmins Ontario and we’re quite confident that we were getting an excellent product. From day 1 we have had issues with having to rewash our clothes. We have lint and white streaks on the clothes as if we were using powdered detergent and they are all tangled. We have always used HE liquid and at one point I switched to soap nuts to get rid of using chemicals. We have now changed to pods and still have issues. When the washer is spinning it is deafening. You can hear it outside for goodness sakes. It sounds like it is about to take off and fly.The cycles are ridiculously long. For a quick cycle the other day and a very small load it took 72 minutes... how is that quick? When the wash is done my clothes are all tangled up and are stretching things out of shape. I am careful what goes in my washer and how large my load is. I know not to wash sheets or towels when I am not home as they will eventually be unbalanced and have Sat all day in the washer only to have another hour of washing when I get home. We are currently doing some work in our home and pulled out the washer. The floor has a rust circle from God knows what. I will attach a picture. The lid not longer closes. I have to hold it down until it locks and it still pops up a wee bit.I do not understand why I am responsible for purchasing a new set when the product I bought should have lasted and not caused damage to my clothes or my flooring. How do we as consumers make the manufacturers responsible for things like this. If nothing else the appliances should be removed from my home by the Company and I should be reimbursed for damages and the cost of a new set. I will continue to look for my receipt as I keep everything and I am unsure what is meant by order #.

I purchased this Refrigerator Model #wrb322dmb, bottom freezer, 21cu ft. last year on July 3, 2015. In September I noticed rust spots on the top door. I called Home Depot where I purchased and they directed me to Whirlpool. I did purchase an extended warranty with Home Depot. Whirlpool did replace the top door. Thought that took care of it. Today one year and two weeks out of warranty, I again notice rust on both doors. Called Whirlpool. They said too bad out of warranty, not considering I had a previous report of this very same issue. So since I am very unsatisfied with this result and the fact that an expensive product is rusting, I decided to share to try to prevent someone getting stuck. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust which leads me to believe that it is not Stainless steel, but a Stainless Steel finish and not a very good one. So I am stuck with a rusting $1200.00 refrigerator only after one year. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but no more. They lost a 40-year customer. I have always bought American made but no wonder people are not buying American made any longer. TO SUM IT UP WHIRLPOOL STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES RUST! DO NOT BUY!

I have a cabrio washer which is the worst washing machine I have ever seen. I can wash a small load of clothes and the ones on the bottom dont even get wet after being in the machine for 60 minutes. I have tried setting it to heavy loads, added water, stopped the machine and redistributed the clothes, it was a total waste of money. Dark colors come out looking worse than when they went in. If I save money on water I spend twice as much on electricity because I have to wash everything twice. The store where I bought it went out of business so I have no recourse.

I purchased this washer over 8 years ago and we have been using it 3 to 4 times a week/ 52 weeks a year since. It has performed flawlessly up until about a year ago when it kept given me uL error. Everytime I wash the basket always spins wobbly and unbalanced it seems. I checked the Internet and it turns out others have had the same problem. The solution was to replaced the 4 springs supporting basket and that fixed the problem. Been working ever since.

We purchased a stainless steel refrigerator thinking Whirlpool stood behind their product. Within days, the shelving on the door and meat bins and vegetable bins literally started chipping away and cracking. I have over a thousand dollars product held together by glue and duct tape so I can use my refrigerator. Neither Lowes or Whirlpool wanted to back their product. But it seemed they wanted to make a sale only on replacement parts... Now today I have learned my ice maker drum has chipped away... Thankful no one swallowed the plastic. We will never buy Whirlpool or recommend to our friends again.

I have received two bad Whirlpool Water Heaters from Lowes. In the course of a few years, I have received two defective heaters (new). One was even a replacement for one several years old that had failed. Lowes insists that you call an 800 number where someone that speaks poor English tells you that you have done something wrong. I am returning the water heater to Lowes, and purchase a water heater elsewhere. This is a perfect example of how sometimes something that is initially cheaper is not the better value.

This refrigerator is only days old and I realize the mistake that was made in buying it- it is far too noisy! When it is running I can hear it in my basement- sounds like a car in my driveway idling with no muffler!!! And when it stops running, it gurgles loudly for 10-15 seconds. Dont even start on the door being hard to pull open after the door was recently opened.

I purchased a brand new fridge in July of 2014 (model wrf990slam00) hoping refrigeration repairs were now behind me. They were not. The ice machine did not work from day one and they knew it was defective when I called so they had someone come out to replace it. Just over a year later it is not working again and my freezer will not freeze either. They tell me I am now out of warranty and any repairs going forward will be out of pocket. Congratulations Whirlpool. You make products that last a whole year. Do not buy Whirlpool. They could care less about you or the quality of their products.

I have been without a washing machine for 3 weeks because my 4-month old washing machine does not work. I have had a repairman out 3 times and now one of the parts that he may need because unfortunately, its not an exact science is on back order. I have spoken twice to supervisors at Whirlpool and have gotten nowhere with them. They are trying to locate the part that is on backorder and my warranty is for repair and replacement parts only. By the time they get through with fixing this lemon, if it ever gets fixed, it will cost more than just replacing the machine! I have 5 people I am doing laundry for and a trip to the laundry mat every week is not something I can afford nor is taking time off of my job every week to meet with a repairman to try and guess what the machine is needing now. After 4 months, I should not have to even be concerned with what is and isnt covered by my warranty! My last washer/dryer lasted 12-15 years with very little ever going wrong with it. I will never recommend Whirlpool products or buy Whirlpool products again, not because something has gone wrong with the product, things like this happen, but because Whirlpool is very poor when it comes to customer satisfaction and treating their customers right. With this day and age of social networking and this economy, you would think that Whirlpool would do more to treat their customers right and build a product that lasts longer than 4 months. When I asked to talk to someone other than the supervisor I was given, I was told that she is the top person. Really? I find it hard to believe that there is no one above her that I could talk with to express my frustration and request that something be done about this problem.

I had a Whirlpool Natural Gas Water Heater professionally installed on 2-27-2107. This unit came with a Honeywell controller and thermopile assembly. Today is 05-18-2019 and the unit is not inoperative. The pilot is lit but the burner wont light. Here are the issues that I have come across so far: When I go to the Whirlpool site there is no direct link to Whirlpool water heaters, just kitchen appliances and washer/dryers. When I click on parts and accessories link it gives links to washers, dryers or pedestals. Again... No information about water heaters. I scroll down to the bottom of this page and I see a link to All Replacement Parts When I click that it takes me to another site managed by RepairClinic. When I enter the model number for the water heater it says Not Found. I entered the part number for the thermopile on the tag on the orange wire #321165-002 and 100078039 and again it returns as Part Not Found. Its obvious that Whirlpool is putting little effort into supporting their water heaters or their customers. I called their support line and they were able to order the thermopile assembly for $55 plus $27.95 in shipping to get it here by Tuesday. Today is Saturday. So that means almost 4 days without hot water. And since this water heater was a warranty replacement for a previous one that went bad they will not cover the cost of replacement parts for the thermopile. Lesson learned: No more Whirlpool purchases for any of their appliances.

I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.

This thing absolutely is total junk. It doesnt clean at all. I have to wash my sons sweaty uniform 3 times because the first two wash didnt clean it. A tub and washboard cleans better than this unit. A 600+ washer should clean the basic stuff. I remove clothes after it was finished and some of the clothes have dry spots where the water couldnt make it to. What kind of washer leaves clothes dry?I wish I came across this site when I was at the store. I did a search and the manufacture website and retail gave it positive reviews. I pretty sure the Whirlpool is paying people to write positive reviews. Technicians have come and gone telling me that there isnt anything wrong with it. That their diagnostic isnt detecting anything. Well when I call them again I will have the tech wait while I wash my sons sweaty uniform and then they can smell it after it goes through the wash. Im going call out a service tech until it works as advertise or they replace it. If I have to call them out once a week. That is what I will do.

This definitely means you have a faulty product.

I have been so disappointed in this product. It is very noisy which is something I have learned to live with. It doesnt even get simple stains out. If you want clean clothes dont buy this machine(Cabrio Washer)! First of all I find that my clothes have dry spot on them when I pull them out of the machine. Whirlpools response is that the machine spins at such a high rate that the cloth will actually seem dry. Doesnt make sense to me that a shirt that has another garment on top of it gets dry in an unexposed area. I have also been told to always use the high water setting. This helps but the clothes still are not clean. Also my dark slacks come out with residue lines on them - Whirlpools solution; never wash anything in cold water. In addition the machine is very noisy. It sounds like the water pipes are being kicked out of the wall. And forget about washing a king size comforter as advertised, a twin comforter doesnt get clean or even thoroughly wet and residue lines are left behind. Hate this machine! So glad I didnt buy the extended warranty since my attempts to have them stand behind this product have failed. I feel the money would be better used towards a different brand.

The authorized repair service did not have the part and Whirlpool is shipping it directly to me but I do not know when. No tracking info, nothing. Three days and no delivery. Then I must call the repair service back to schedule yet another appointment to install it. Meanwhile, I am paying $13.00 to $20.00 per day for dry ice, not to mention the time I had to take off of work for three service calls - for an appliance I took delivery of on December 21st! Less than 2 months. I am finding out quickly that Whirlpool is very generous with apologies and stingy with results. I should have checked the Whirlpool FB page before making my purchase. Their water heater is the worst ever! I will never buy another Whirlpool product. We purchased our water heater on January 17, 2010. We had to have the entire electronic system replaced in August 2011, including the lower element, control unit, thermisol, and electronic. Now, just a few short months later, the system is not working again, plus, the containment unit failed, flooding our basement. When we called Whirlpool, we were treated callously and rudely. Now, we have to pay to have the old unit removed, and a new one installed (they told us to throw it in our trunk and return it to Lowes, as if). Why did we pay to have this warranty when both the product, and the warranty are junk? Never, ever again! While Im at it, I should add that our range, and refrigerator are also made by Whirlpool, and those too, are pieces of junk. I guess were bucking up, and scheduling a new installation. I have purchased 2 Ikea/Whirlpool ovens in 2011 from Ikea in Canada. I have used the self clean feature on both ovens and both ovens quit completely and the doors stayed locked. This problem is discussed hundreds of times on the internet for Whirlpool, Ikea and Kitchen Aid ovens. Since they are all made by Whirlpool they are all very similar or exactly the same in some cases, as is the problem. I have discussed this with Ikea and they have said they didnt know about the problem but would help to get it fixed to my satisfaction. I have had Whirlpool authorized service repair both ovens but after trying the self clean feature again, same problem.During one of my conversations with an Ikea representative on the phone, she contacted Whirlpool and was told that if the oven was repaired 3 times and deemed by the service technician as unrepairable, Whirlpool would do a buyback. In other words according to Ikea, Whirlpool would take the oven and pay me what I paid for the oven. Well after contacting the authorized service dept (not Whirlpool itself) for the third time, they did some investigation with Whirlpool about the problem. To his and my amazement, Whirlpool has come up with a fix as of October 2013. The technician ordered the new kit and installed it in both ovens. I have since tried the self clean in one oven and this time it worked. For the information of others, Whirlpool has the kit and in it is an instruction sheet with pictures as to how to replace and install all the parts in the kit.I watched the installation, quite a process. From the instruction sheet there is a number on it. Here is the number - w10625529 rev. A 10/13. This is an instruction sheet for Ikea TOD (thermal overload device) service kit. I have looked at many of the service parts diagrams on the internet for many different current models of Ikea, Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid ovens and in most cases almost all the inside parts are the same or very very similar which leads me to the conclusion that this service kit may work in most of these ovens to correct the same problem, but I suggest checking with the appropriate service people before taking my word for it. My observation is that the kit moves the TOD off the top of the metal plate of the oven and onto a new bracket which the tech thought it was to get it further away from heat (this Im not sure of since Im not an expert). He also suggested that this kit may also be designed to allow more air flow around the oven.My only concern after having the self clean feature finally work is the heat produced inside the kitchen cabinet in which the oven is installed. Approximately an hour and a half after turning the self clean on, I felt the side of the cabinet between it and the fridge (open space), and at one area of the wood cabinet I could not hold my hand on the cabinet as it was too very hot. I will be checking the inside of the cabinet for signs of excess heat and if I see any evidence, I will again call the service people. Since the elements were not on when I checked this, I assume the self clean had finished the heat cycle and was in the process of cooling down. When I test the other oven, I will make sure the elements are still on as I can see them thru the glass door. When I checked the temperature of the outside wood cabinet using a laser thermometer, the outside wood registered 64 degrees C or 142 F approximately. Not sure what the inside temperature was as the oven was still in place. Hopefully I will not get a higher reading when the self clean is at its maximum temperature in the cleaning cycle. Will the oven create any problems in the future for the cabinet, I hope not but time will tell. For clarification, the cabinets were built by a kitchen cabinet company using the instruction sheet that came with the ovens. I hope some of this will be of help to some of the hundreds of people who have posted this very same problem on the internet. When you have paid for an appliance you wanted because of the features it came with, it should provide you with what you paid for and not constantly break down. Im lucky as they came with a 5-year warranty so it hasnt cost me anything yet and hopefully wont in the future. Good luck to all in getting this resolved for all of you.

Own Whirlpool GB2FHDXWS04 refrigerator for 14 months. From the beginning, the ice maker made gross tasting ice and never got better (had to start buying ice). Then a smell started coming from the fridge every time the fan came on. We called before the warranty was up and talked to Whirlpool, and they said that we must have put something smelly in the fridge that caused the plastic to absorb the smell (which we didnt). They told us to put baking soda in and change it everyday. No change. They kept telling us there is no way it could be giving off a smell for any other reason and if they sent a tech out, we would have to pay for it. Trying to intimidate us until the warranty was up. Then after a month or so, the bottom mount freezer starts leaking water all over the wood floors every 3 days. At first we turned off the water line, but then realized it is coming when the freezer defrosts. One good thing, the freezer, from the beginning, knocked really loud and now that its leaking it doesnt knock. We spent $1,200 just over a year ago and will probably have to go purchase a new one now. I will tell you it will never be another Whirlpool product. Whirlpool has not apologized or done anything but say, Now your warranty is up, you should have bought the extended warranty. Great customer care! With all these same complaints, you would think Whirlpool would figure the problem is their inferior product (which they know) and actually take responsibility.

We purchased a new Whirlpool water heater April 2013 at Lowes and every 3-4 months the pilot would go out. My husband would simply re-light the heater, I guess he didnt think it was a big deal. However, in September 2014 the water heaters pilot went out and would not re-light, so I contacted Whirlpool about the warranty. It took 4 telephone calls (two of which involved a plumber, per Whirlpools request), and several days of cold showers for an authorization code to purchase a $8 part (thermo coupler). The hassles that Whirlpool put me through, no one should have to endure. Who ever heard of a technician telling you that they have to talk to the plumber, when you call them to explain a problem with your water heater, such as, the pilot will not stay lit and the plumber said it is the coupler (I couldnt remember the whole name of the part, but surely they should have understood what was wrong). Secondly, providing a plumber (unless youre married to one) to converse with them involves more money. Now I have a plumber at my house so I call Whirlpool and this technician insists that the plumber perform a test on thermo coupler to make sure that it was faulty before she gave the authorization for a new one. Yet again, when I called to Whirlpool with the plumber, while I was voicing my problems in resolving the issue of my water heater with this technician, and she just hung-up on me. So as not to be defeated and having already invested in the expense of the plumber, I called Whirlpool again and requested a manager. The technician asked if she could help and I informed her of my previous encounters. She apologized and took my information to have a manager to call me later; however, she did give me the authorization code for the thermo coupler without delay. When I went to purchase the part, I didnt have the old part (as trade; the plumber hadnt removed it), so I paid for it out-of pocket, to return the old part later.

I purchased the refrigerator (WRT3L15ZYBOO) from a reputable store (Lowes) on 10/15/11. 15 months later it failed. The service tech diagnosed complete loss of refrigerant. Cost for repairs would be more than half the purchase price and the wait for parts would be weeks. Contact to Whirlpool customer rep (Brittany) said no assistance was available, even for obviously a defective product. Solution: I had the store remove the defective appliance and purchased a new fridge (not Whirlpool) at about the same price it would have cost to repair the defective one. With delivery within 3 days, I likely saved time and money over dealing with Whirlpool. I had purchased a Whirlpool stove at the same time and am feeling quite anxious about it. Consequences: I plan to purchase a washer/dryer in the next year. No Whirlpool products considered.

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!

Last year I purchased a Whirlpool washer at the suggestion of a friend who works at Lowes. It was dented and reduced, but my 20 year old Maytag, although still chugging away, was due for replacement. Am I sorry I did! My husband has recently broken his hip and we were caught in Hurricane Matthew just 1 day after I brought him home. We were forced to evacuate. Upon returning with a mountain of laundry, I found my washer lock light blinking although the washer had not been running when we lost power. I tried opening it but could not. I unplugged and reconnected power to no avail. I called customer service only to find we had to wait 2 weeks for a Whirlpool repair person. He arrived yesterday (Oct 26, 2016) and charged $95.00 to tell me this was an almost universal problem with Whirlpools and the company was aware of it. He called this morning to tell me the required part would cost $495.00! The entire washer cost approx. $500. He stated that he thought Whirlpool should have covered the cost as it was not far out of warranty and a known defect, but he could not get Whirlpool to assist financially. I tried calling myself for an explanation of the fact that they knew these machines had a defective part and yet they sold them. I got a song and dance from the rep. Although my husband was unable to help and I am a 65 year old woman, I went out and bought the cheapest machine I could and manhandled it home and connected it. It is afternoon and I am on my 4th load of well overdue laundry, no thanks to Whirlpool. I intend to make this story public through every internet forum I can find. I have a large extended family and friends and I will make sure they do not purchase Whirlpool appliances if they are looking for a good product and good customer service. I will also be sure to never buy a Whirlpool appliance again.

Purchased 03/28/13. Refrigerator 62 degrees on July 4, 2013. Called for service July 5 - came out July 9 and told unrepairable - wiring harness set against tubing rusted and broke wires. Since July 9, I have been trying to get my replacement from Whirlpool and always told they will call me 24-48 hours - never calls. Asked for supervisor on July 22, then asked for her name and direct number. Supervisor said someone would call me about delivery. Supervisor told me if a local store would have had in stock, they would have sent it out from there (called local store and was told 6 were in stock and could be delivered tomorrow). Tried to call supervisor back to inform her, but number would not go through (apparently bogus number). As of July 22, 2013, still no refrigerator. Very poor customer service/service repair. July 24 - asked if I needed to get an attorney and/or contact local new consumer advocate - Whirlpool said they would issue a refund check for the refrigerator, and that I should receive it in 14-21 business days - said they could not refund on credit card I used to make original purchase. Hopefully, the check will arrive.

The normal setting takes 3 hrs & 12min to run & again, doesnt really wash & for sure doesnt dry. I have added jet dry. I called and they keep telling me it should have more jet dry! Ugh! I now have rust happening because it doesn’t dry. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL.

Whirlpool serviceman came out to see why our brand new dishwasher didnt dry the dishes and left pools of water on glass bottoms. Repairman said all the new dishwashers are like this. The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. He said the solution is to use the dishwasher during the day and at the end of the cycle, open the door so the dishes air dry. My previous 24 year old GE dishwasher did a great job of drying the dishes even when we didnt use the heated dry cycle! The only reason we had to buy a new dishwasher is because we bought a new house. I am very disgusted with the Whirlpool dishwasher. Might as well do dishes by hand.

Top loading Washing Machine Model #WTW4950XW2 - You would think that a big company like Whirlpool would make quality washers. NOT! Our top loading washer bought in late 2011 has been making loud noise during the washing cycle for the last 6 months, and last night was struggling to spin. Seriously, with just my wife and myself using the washer once a week, this washer should last over a decade! So I called Whirlpool and explained the problem... and, as expected, they cannot help me as it is over the one year warranty. NO MORE WHIRLPOOL BRANDS FOR US!

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

Washing Machine Model WTW4616FW - I purchased this machine at Home Depot after I had to return my Samsung Costco machine that was recalled due to the glass top flying off. I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. I was shocked that it was actually Made in America. I highly recommend it and I hope they keep making this reliable machine that gets the clothes clean. Awesome machine without the bells and whistles that I dont expect to breakdown. Way to go Whirlpool!

It was not mistreated in any way! The problem is in the computer part of the machine.Everyone knows that to have a repair person come out is costly in itself, add to that repairs and parts, and it isnt worth it to fix an appliance most of the time. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. Never. I could have bought three cheap machines for this one Whirlpool, and had a couple of backups in the event that one quit on me! Now I have a fancy washer and a mountain of laundry! Thanks, Whirlpool.

Purchased Refrigerator (WhirlPool Refrigerator WRX988SIBM03) 16 months ago and noticed the drawer with glass that house the drawers had a crack on the right side. Couldnt believe it was cracked after such little use with just two adults living in the home. Removed it and noticed this was such shoddy design. There is a heavy metal bar in the back with a piece of flimsy plastic that attaches to the heavy metal bar with only a screw attaching the plastic to the metal.I made attempt to glue it since it was only cracked but then the plastic just started crumbling into pieces like a broken cookie. Truly there is something wrong with the quality of the product as well as the design of having this heavy metal bar attached to this flimsy plastic. The quality of this part only leads me to believe what is next with this refrigerator. I am sure there is more to come.I contacted Whirlpool to see if they would replace but of course this is at my cost. Ive had inner parts of refrigerators break over years of use and they get old and busted up over time but this is a new refrigerator and once I inspected the part, I was disappointed with myself for not removing these inner parts and inspecting prior to purchasing. I would have picked up on the poor quality right away. Taken by the outside of this unit and its beauty, and not truly looking at whether or not the shelf can hold a couple gallons of milk. I am here to tell you there is no way this would have withstood the test of time with only a gallon of milk sitting on this unit. Poor design, poor quality and metal attached to raw plastic as it is a disaster.

It broke down again Sept. 2011, the basket separated from spinning mechanism. I learned that after $75+ missing day of work, repair tech quoted cost of repair $885 and a minimum of 10 days waiting for part to arrive.I called Whirlpool, the guy on the phone was nice but told me I was out of luck. Even if I had purchased the 3-year warranty, I would still be out of luck. The washer was manufactured in April 2008. What a piece of junk. Save your money and skip it. I wish I had. I bought a Whirlpool top loading washing machine with dryer on top, model # WGT4027EWo, last August, not even 3 months old and noticed the lint was not coming off the clothes. We tried cleaning out the washing machine with vinegar, wiping down the sides, using smaller loads and even used the gentle cycle. Nothing helped. We have had 2 different repair men out and they said there is nothing wrong with the washing machine and to put the clothes in the dryer and use fabric softener. I have never had to use fabric softener in my washing machine to get my clothes clean. When reaching out to customer service, I have spent over 2 hours and no satisfaction. They state that the technicians say there is nothing wrong with the machine. I was told by both of the technicians that they removed the lint trap from this machine, but no one is taking responsibility. My whites have blue lint and my darks have white lint, so too strong an agitation, as suggested by one repairmen is completely wrong! What to do when you spend over $1,000 on a washer/dryer combo and they dont work correctly and Whirlpool doesnt stand behind their product? Honestly, I will never buy another product from this company, and I 60 y/o and never made a complaint before about a appliance in my life!!! I dont even think I can give them 1 star! We had our microwave and stove delivered in October, 2015. We had 4 deliveries of the microwave. The first two were damaged, the third needed a new fan motor and the door was not straight. I complained a lot to both Whirlpool who would not replace it and ABC Warehouse who finally agreed to replace it with a brand new one. The 4th is good. (so far). Our stove has a flaw in the glass top, the drawer doesnt close properly, and there is a piece of metal sticking out from the lower right side of the oven door. ABC says they cannot do anything about it and Whirlpool says it is under a parts warranty so it has to be repaired. I even spoke to supervisor Kimberly at Whirlpool. Got same answer. We are very angry and disappointed. As I told the Kimberly, Whirlpool got every penny they asked for. We paid for brand new in perfect condition and got a stove that needs fixing. We had no idea that it snows up here until almost mid June, and Best Buy wouldnt be able to deliver the appliances until June.We had hired a contractor to renovate the kitchen and had given him half of the money. To make a long story short, he took our money, wouldnt come do the job, but wouldnt give us our money back. Finally did part of the work and never came back again. He sent someone else to do the rest of the job, but he was not licensed, did horrible work that needed to be torn out and be completely redone, yet demanded to be paid for what he did. We ended up in a lawsuit and couldnt hire anybody to finish the kitchen until the lawsuit was settled. By the time the kitchen was finished the refrigerator was already out of warranty.Within days of the refrigerator being plugged up ice began to form at the top back part of the refrigerator. I called Best Buy and over the phone they told me what it was. The refrigerator had been poorly designed. A tube that ran up the back and across the top of the refrigerator to the ice maker created a lot of condensation and was causing ice to form. The Geek Squad representative said that Whirlpool had been aware of the design flaw and had created a kit to fix it. It consisted of insulation, a blower, and maybe a different type of tubing. Anyway, Best Buy said that Whirlpool was responsible for this repair and that it was around $400 and a $100 trip charge, so were talking $500 plus. Since the refrigerator was no longer under warranty with Best Buy I was advised to call Whirlpool since the problem originated in the factory and came like that.I called Whirlpool and they lied and told me there was nothing in their computer system about this design flaw. I called Best Buy back, and they said that Whirlpool had sent something to them about it via the computer and that it was definitely in their system. I called Whirlpool back in July of 2014 and tried to escalate it, but only got the runaround. Now they admit that a recall was done, which had to be in their system, but said that there are two different types of recall. One type is a recall for something that could be dangerous to human life. That type of recall they will take financial responsibility for. Then there is what they call an inconvenience recall. They do not take financial responsibility for anything that falls under that category. For inconvenience recalls, they apparently only contact the companies that have sell their products are contacted, so that they are aware of potential problems that may need to be addressed by their maintenance departments. I feel that a decent, honest responsible company should be willing to take responsibility for things they know were wrong with their product before it ever left their factory or warehouse. Now the freezer isnt working. I called and complained because I thought it was connected to the original problem. All Whirlpool offered to do was to sell me an extended warranty for $319. Its with a company called Assurant, but when you call them they answer as Whirlpool Extended Warranty Program. They told me this would cover the original problem, whatever is wrong with it now, and anything that goes wrong in the next year. I was also promised to not have to put out another dime, so I bought it. Assurant was suppose to set the repair up and pay for it.After almost a week of not hearing from them I called. They informed me that they couldnt find anybody who was qualified to come up here and work on it. I asked them why they didnt call Best Buy. They said it wasnt their policy. I was informed that I was to find someone on my own and have the repairman call them with an explanation of what was wrong with it and the repair cost. If they approved it, then I was to pay for all of the repairs in advance, and they would reimburse me. I had a fit, but they told me that I would either do it that way or the extended warranty would be canceled, and they would just reimburse me the $319 I had paid for the extended warranty.I called Best Buy. They sent a repair man out. He found that the coil at the back of the freezer was covered in a block of ice. He took a blow dryer and thawed it up. He said to put something in the freezer that would freeze it to see if it went back to working properly. He gave us his cell phone number and told us to call him the next day to let him know. In the meantime he was going to contact Whirlpool to see what would have caused that. Well, nothing froze. He called us later and said that Whirlpool had informed him that the coil probably had something that was causing a blockage. It was either a piece of trash that had gotten into the coil at the factory or a bend in the coil, which had to have occurred at the factory; because its inside a closed unit. The repairman said that Best Buy never goes into a closed unit to try to repair it, because they are not qualified, but that if they were it would still cost me a fortune to have that done. He said that Best Buy just replaces the refrigerator, but thats only when its under their warranty. The repair man told me the bill to fix the condensation problem was going to be about $550, and that was before the coil problem was ever discussed. I asked him to call Assurant and tell them everything he told us. He did, and was told there were options to escalate it to the next level. He gave me the phone number. I called it and talked to a representative who told me what the notes in their computer system said. Basically it said to give me my $319 back. Then I was given a phone number to Whirlpool, because I demanded to escalate it.I called the number she gave me. The Whirlpool representative asked me why I hadnt called Sears and offered to call them for me but told me I would be responsible for all the repairs, and that they would not be financially responsible for anything in any way. The guy kept putting me on hold and was apparently getting advice from someone higher in authority.I had already been told that no one in Colorado Springs would go into a closed system to repair that refrigerator, because of the labor and costs. I asked this guy if he just didnt believe the Best Buy repairman or what. There is no telling what Sears will charge me to give me a second opinion. Best Buy has offered to reimburse me for their diagnostic trip up here. If Sears finds the same thing, Im sure they wont reimburse me their trip charge because it didnt come from there. This refrigerator was regularly $2,600. I got it on sale for $2,000 plus sales tax. I cant sell it like it is, I cant get it fixed, and its too big to use as an anchor. In other words, its cost me $2,000 to use this refrigerator for two years, and I have nothing to show for it. You may be saying that I should have bought an extended warranty from Best Buy when I bought it, but that wouldve only taken care of the condensation problem. We wouldve ended up with an unfixable freezer problem anyway. That wouldnt have changed a thing. That extra year warranty would have expired by now.Whirlpool products are inferior, and Whirlpool doesnt take responsibility for their mistakes. They are no better than some of the car companies that have been on the news lately. Take my advice, dont buy Whirlpool products and dont ever be stupid enough to buy their extended warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live, and if you have any sense, you wont either.

I purchased Whirlpool Slide-In 30 Gas SS Conventional Range. Terrible product quality. After about three years of use, the range shows an error message cooling fan is too low. I wasnt able to use the oven. Abt Services came in to do the repair. One month after the cooling fan was installed, the same message came up again. When Abt Services replaced the cooling fan again, the display was completely out. The cost of the repair parts is over $800. Are you kidding me! I paid $1500 for the range. Now I need to pay $800 to repair. Whirlpool didnt offer any discount for repairing the defective product but offered purchase similar product at a discount price. I will never ever pay a dime for Whirlpool product. It is a nightmare using the product. I learned my lesson. No Whirlpool product again in our house.

We have a Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus dishwasher thats been doing a great job cleaning our dishes for just shy of 24 years. We use a cleaner every 2-3 months to keep everything cleaned out and sanitized. We use a liquid detergent and a rinse aid and the dishes come out clean every time. We feel like weve been blessed with this machine and would definitely buy Whirlpool again.

54 weeks ago, I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Washer & Dryer. The first time I used the washer, it flooded my laundry room. After some grief, it was replaced with a second Duet washer some 53.5 weeks ago. Yesterday, that washer, 10 days past the 1-year warranty, failed. It gives error messages F06/E01 and wont complete a cycle. Calls to Whirlpool resulted in a refusal to acknowledge any product responsibility (out of warranty) but offers of extending the warranty for the cost of repair. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will actively encourage any other consumer to shop elsewhere.

I recently purchased a new Whirlpool propane water heater. Dependable name, dependable product, years of trusted service, right?! We have bought many Whirlpool products over the years but never again. Got it home and installed it. It sounded like a plane taking off, and that was in the garage. Next came the lack of hot water. Mind you, we replaced a 40-gallon tank with a 40-gallon tank and the last one we had lasted 18 years without a problem.Well, same showers as usual, and we were turning up the heat mid-shower and again and again during the shower. Even turning up the heat on the water heater didnt relieve the problem. We are not happy with the product. And, no, there is nothing mechanically wrong with it; its just sub-par. Our water heater from 18 years ago worked more efficiently than this newer model. We called customer service, and we were told that unless there was something mechanically wrong with it, such as a defect, there was nothing we could do. There’s simply no recourse.Shame on Whirlpool for not making a quality product and standing behind it. This was a very expensive purchase - over $500.00. We thought we were buying a quality appliance. Very disappointed, and I will be returning it. I’m never buying another Whirlpool product again. I can only hope that the company we bought it from has a better customer service policy. Very frustrated and disappointed.
