We like the Duet Washer because it had a steam cycle and a sanitize cycle plus it has a light inside that helps us see the laundry in our dark room or at night. Also we have been very happy with the cleaning - does a great job and gets the dirtiest clothes clean. The Fan Fresh feature and Delay Start are very handy especially for busy parents who may forget the laundry is in the washer.

I had the last one just over 1 month and couldnt exchange it at Lowe’s because it’s a few days over a month. So I had to get return authorization before I could return it again. I went through speaking to a hateful CSR. After calling back again, the lady, a real nice lady, helped me. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again, and if anyone is smart, they will stay away from them too. Hateful, hateful CSR. Beware.

First time under warranty, tech came and fixed it. Second time without warranty, I cleared some loose socks between the tub. Third time same problem. YouTube suggested to change the springs on four corners that hold the tub. $25 and problem fixed. Basically, if you are not an informed consumer you are screwed for $$ silly stuff.

We have gone through countless attempts to defrost and correct, disconnecting the ice maker, and a replacement part that accomplished nothing. I see online numerous people have experienced this same problem. It appears to be a design defect. Made another call to Whirlpool today. I have the same pilot light problems as everybody else. I pulled the burner unit out, and cleaned, and blew everything out, and took a wire brush to the openings on the floor of the unit. I called customer service, and was asked about ventilation. I didnt mention that the heater still didnt work, even when the door to the tin water heater was removed, so venting is not the likely culprit. She authorized a repair that will likely do nothing from the comments I see.The real problem with their customer service, is the apparent stupidity of the computer system. She asked me for the model and ID number. I had to cut through the extra insulation blanked on the tank to get it. However, when I gave it to her, she then asked me if I was ** and if I live at **. If this information was already in the computer, why couldnt there be a search by my name and address, to get the model and serial number. Obviously, I had registered the water heater in the past. Isnt being able to get this information the reason to register in the first place?Now, I have to replace the extra insulation, all because of a stupid inability to create the necessary searches in their customer database. Yes, I could have written the numbers down, but why have the customer registration at all, if it isnt to be used for anything, other than data mining of the customer base.

You call Lowes, they wont take it back, they will tell you to call Whirlpool who may send you a part or send someone to fix it. No hot water for many days. Again, after a short time, it will stop working and by the time you get it fixed, again no hot water for a long time. This is the pattern with this piece of garbage. So you get disgusted, rip the thing apart and take it to Lowes for a refund.. Sorry Dude, they wont take it...it is stated in their receipt or on the literature that came with the heater. Your best bet... put a bunch of dents in the heater and tell them it was damaged when you opened it... Lowes will be obligated to refund the money. With so many complaints on Consumer Affairs and other web sites, why is Lowes still selling this heater and no other brand??? Maybe Superbowl tickets or a trip to Hawaii for the buyers...who knows...but one thing for sure, since Whirlpool does not respond to these complaints, I will guarantee you that their other products will suffer in sales because, I for one, will not buy another Whirlpool product.

Think twice before buying Whirlpool appliances. In our experience, quality and durability are a real issue. Here is our story. 5 years ago we built a winter vacation home. We bought brand new Whirlpool appliances from a reputable vendor at full price. Washer, dryer, double oven, and refrigerator. The washer arrived damaged. The damage was a button that was depressed and could not be released. This was brand new washer, never used, but Whirlpool insisted that we had caused the damage. It was only after the vendors tech got involved that Whirlpool relented and sent a repair tech.Next, the bottom oven door came apart in my hands after just days of use. I had to fight (yes fight and argue!) with Whirlpool customer service to send a repair tech. Finally after much arguing Whirlpool sent a tech and the oven door was repaired. The tech told us that this was a common defect! (Shame on you Whirlpool!) So why you might ask, why am I complaining? Well this is a vacation home. We are here 3 months a year (times 4 years = 1 year of very light use) and today the oven door came apart in my hands again. That makes twice in 12 months of light use. Frankly, this is shameful! I do not understand how this company gets away with it!I am disgusted with Whirlpool crap quality and crap customer service and I want everyone to know what they can expect when buying Whirlpool. I suggest you check all available reviews before placing your order for anything from Whirlpool. As for this new oven door repair? Ill report again after talking with Whirlpool but I expect to be told Sorry sucker, the warranty is over! Buyer beware!

I have had this service several times my first year and the agitator replaced I believe twice. But it still destroys clothing. I called 1 month out of warranty and even though they had been out several times the first year for the same issue, they would not help me! Yep, even after the 1st year they said to get things done I had to purchase an extended warranty even though this was a mfr issue no doubt! So, 3-4 years later I still am dealing with the very same issue over and over with NO RESOLUTION in site and $900 in the hole for this washer and I am losing money with clothing damage weekly!Even today I had two pair of jeans, $98 ea rec these terrible uniformed marks all across the legs making them unwearable! At least for where they were intended to wear them at. They are now yard jeans...yep $98 expensive yard jeans now!!! These were my good jeans which I cant afford to buy more nor replace them so I have to do without. We cant wash anything with strings such as hoodies, shirts or baby clothing with spaghetti straps or little dangle things; we have to use the laundry mat and come home & dry w/ my Cabrio steam dryer which I love. Most everything I have to use zipper net bags but even then things still can get destroyed, especially if a hole gets torn in the bag from the wings of the agitator as you will see in the below photograph. I currently have & own an expensive washer I purchased from HHGregg by Whirlpool replacing a previous whirlpool I owned for 22 years! Yep, Im wishing I had it back & put the $200 some needed to repair it! Please Whirlpool will you please do something & make this right once and for all. I dont have $900 for another washer. I just want to be able to use my washer without it destroying everything I own. I have darn photos of what this is doing and you wouldnt believe it. It took us an hour, yes an hour to untangle a top that became entangled in the flaps on the agitator. This is the worst design I have ever seen and needs to be recalled once and for all and either fixed or replaced with new machines of equal model with the agitation issues resolved or removed & with no issues or further costs to your customers! Why would you honestly believe that an agitator with wings coming off the bottom that are not attached to the bottom would serve some type of positive purpose in cleaning clothing? All it is doing is tearing them to shreds, tangling them up, doing things to hoodies which make them unrecognizable after ripping the cords so hard out of the hoodies that Ive seen them shred the material across the collar area and opening of the cording completely ruining hoodies ranging from $35-$75 a piece even after placing them in mesh bags! Why did we keep placing hoodies in the machine? Well with 4 children at times they just dont listen or get all the info as to what is going on with the machine as 3 were college kids coming home periodically & yes, to do their laundry. Look, lets talk straight. You as a company from what I have learned from appliance salesmen locally and regionally, you knew this was wrong and knew this was your last ditch effort of an agitator before you knowingly knew you were going to an agitator-less unit on your washing machines & already had one ready to go out on the floors. I know that you Whirlpool CEOs knew this unit was a bad call but chose to ignore it. You had to know it because there was no way this could have passed quality control. It had to have failed sometime in its trials showing you the issues of the wings. Unless you never did any quality control on this unit and just rushed it through? Please to the CEOs of Whirlpool, I am asking you to make this right if not for good standing of your company do it at least for families like myself who cant afford to buy another machine and are now stuck with NEW machines yet going to Laundry mats. This was to be my last washing machine I would buy hopefully. I am 54 and was not planning on buying another. How do you think this makes your company look???? Im just so tired of dealing w/ Whirlpool to only hear I have to purchase a $400 extended warranty with no guarantee that they will fix the issue. If an attorney wants to step in & believes they can help us and maybe others then Yes please help us because this is absolutely ridiculous and is a product that needs to be recalled. I have searched many websites and am not able to find a replacement thermocouple for the stupid thing. Also, I have been told that the parts for the type of water heater that I own is no longer available. I tried to call the Whirlpool number a handful of times, but unfortunately, I was on hold the entire time and could not speak with a rep. I guess that explains all of the complaints I have read on here. I would like to be contacted or have help from someone regarding this matter! During the first year, they had to send out a tech that told me he was not familiar with top loaders and was not sure why the clothes were not getting clean, nor why they came out with a white residue on the dark clothes. We used the machine cleaner - which the cycles take nearly an hour (how is that efficient?), put in a load of dark clothes WITH NO SOAP and guess what? Then he had me dump in a gallon of vinegar to clean the tub and the wall of the washer and repeated the process and guess what? He informed me that it was just lint. Well, after several visits and using a suggested pin drop of soap, the problem remained. I finally asked him if he was so sure it was lint and not soap residue, would he be willing to taste the lint? It was soap.Obviously after an hour of washing in the efficient washer, the clothes are not getting rinsed. I know this because in just putting in less than ten dark t-shirts, they came out dry!!! He informed me that since he was a contractor for Whirlpool, he was not allowed to continue to come back as he resolved the problem that I was using too much soap! Well, that is only part of the problem. This piece of crap leaks. We not only have a water softener, but a household filter system. In just the last three months, we have replaced the hoses as they are corroding. We were informed by Lowes that the hoses that came with the washers were from China and that they have been replacing them with US made hoses to the customers at no charge due to the amount of returns. Well, those too have been corroding and now I once again have water on the floor.It cost $1.75 to take my clothes to the Laundromat, 26 minutes to wash and ten minutes to get there and back. That is what I have been doing, and using my 23 year old dryer when I get home. It is a shame that the company is not responding to an obvious problem. I only wash two loads in a week - not like I am beating the thing to death with numerous loads or heavy loads. I will not recommend, in fact, I BEG you not to spend your hard earned money on this junk. Buy a $200 washer and if it too craps out in three, four or five years... you are still ahead. You will even save money on headache medication and save your sanity.

Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again.On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions.In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.

It has had several Large components changed out including the Freezer door, water valves, electronic boards, gaskets, and more. I was NOT able to get it labeled as a lemon and returned to Lowe’s simply because I accepted Warranty work to be done in the first 30 days which then disables any chance to return the unit. If I had asked for it to be returned in the first 30 days with the First bad issues I could have. Now I am stuck with it and I dislike the fridge and will never buy another Whirlpool or any other appliance from Lowe’s.

Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.

Customer service is never available when you call, you get a message machine. Going forward, I will never buy a Whirlpool product and I will recommend friends and family to boycott Whirlpool. The 6-year warranty is worthless. You cant rely on the warranty. You cant rely on the water heater. You cant rely on Whirlpool to stand behind their product. The water heater is junk.

After finding this out and contacting Whirlpool to complain and see if there were any recalls, they indicated they knew nothing about the problem and recalls would have to come from their legal department. I asked to speak with someone in that department and was told that was not possible. We threw the machine away and purchased a new no frills dryer. Now the washer has totally died. It would make noises, lockup, not spin, not clean, etc. Basically all the complaints other consumers have listed. It is now on the curb and I will again have a purchase a new washer. The Whirlpool refrigerator I bought at the same time is a whole other story. Please do not buy Whirlpool. When contacted they show no empathy or concern about the inferiority of their products. There are only the 2 of us now and we do laundry one time a week. It amazes me how much money I am out between the initial purchases, repairs, and replacements. My daughter has also had the bad luck of purchasing Whirlpool appliances and is now experiencing the same problems. Get the word out to all of your friends to NEVER purchase Whirlpool. They are apparently only concerned with their profits and not making good products or caring about their consumers problems. I made a very expensive mistake and will never purchase their products again. I have made them aware that I would be placing my review on your website along with the other 1,690 complaints. I have all my documentation re purchases, repairs, replacements and emails sent to Whirlpool. Unfortunately I cannot document all the calls made to this company. Whirlpool dispatched a technician and said nothing was wrong. Dec 2007 during a dinner party the oven again went out of control, raised the temperature on its own and burned the dinner. By this time I have used the oven maybe 25 times. Jan 2008 Whirlpool sent a technician to replace the circuit board. Dec 2011 Stove was on for 3 hrs at 375 - a batch of cookies in the oven for 6 minutes torched on fire, smoked up the house. I have had it with this stove!The oven displays error codes every time and the only way to shut it down was to throw the circuit breaker. I checked the internet to see if there was a recall on this stove - none. I cant believe it. I contacted Whirlpools Safety Department and once again got the run around that they want to send a technician to inspect the oven. I just want the oven out of my house and for Whirlpool to take responsibility to recall this oven & to protect their consumer. There are endless complaints from customers on the internet regarding this make and model. Consistently, Whirlpool takes no responsibility for their faulty products.

We contacted Whirlpool indicating that was not acceptable. Very few, if any houses, have a washing machine on an independent CIRCUIT. Whirlpools response - I have an independent circuit for every appliance in the house. Obviously, she does not know what a circuit is. Totally disgusted. Their nearest one was from Dallas (2 hours away) and could not come out until later next week! I told the tech that its unacceptable! She even refused to get a supervisor! Plus now I blew up on this one. I had to pay the tech $75.00 up front plus the $75.00 an hour to which it would take 2 1/2 hours for repair. Meaning, I would pay more in a damn service call than the actual cost of the new water heater! Oh, but they would refund me in 60-120 days. I would first verify the work was done and if any overcharges, it would not be refunded! So I say to Whirlpool/GE, your warranty policy is a bunch of **. This includes your customer service team as well! I will never ever purchase a Whirlpool or GE product again. Samsung now has my business. May your company fold! I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

From the start the oven has been aggravating in both the noise that it emits and the variance in actual temperature. We have had the Appliance Service out twice for these ovens. We are told that the noise which sounds like a wind tunnel is normal. It is there to keep the circuit board cool especially during the cleaning process. The noise is quite aggravating and is amplified throughout our open floor plan to all parts of the house.The temperature variance has been calibrated to be more accurate, but Im not convinced it is on the right temperature yet. I continue to give it a try, but Im not sure if the noise of the fan in the oven is making me feel negative towards using the oven at any time. We hate to have to replace these new units with another set of double ovens, but I doubt if I can continue with this noise much longer. It will definitely not be a Whirlpool or KitchenAid double oven of any sort.

The line also includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana and Hot Point. Besides this I have found plastic pieces that have fallen off! I had to use plastic ties to keep them in place. If youre spending that type of money you need to get good quality items.I love my washer and dryer. Theyre both and white color. Its a Whirlpool Cabrio with HD High efficient load energy saver and H2 wash system. The washer has a lid with a see-through glass which I love. The ones that have the black round circle that looks like a thermostat. I said, Really? Well the reason I bought this water heater is because my last one that I bought 2 years ago kept having the same issue. Whirlpool sent me the assembly with the pilot and all 3 times and would never replace it. I got tired of it always messing up so after having it for 2 years, we just dumped it and went and bought this new model. Here we are 8 months since we bought it and the same thing is happening. I am so furious. I am pissed off that they dont recall these if they are defective. Why do they keep selling them if people have problems? Now, just a few short months later, the system is not working again, plus, the containment unit failed, flooding our basement. When we called Whirlpool, we were treated callously and rudely. Now, we have to pay to have the old unit removed, and a new one installed (they told us to throw it in our trunk and return it to Lowes, as if). Why did we pay to have this warranty when both the product, and the warranty are junk? Never, ever again! While Im at it, I should add that our range, and refrigerator are also made by Whirlpool, and those too, are pieces of junk. I guess were bucking up, and scheduling a new installation. If there are any further problems, I will be contacting an attorney.

The Quick cycle will leave your clothes in a puddle of water. But then there is no spin only cycle to correct that. Speaking to a local repair technician via phone, he indicated it is likely the control board. Whirlpool changed that part from part number W10406632 to part number W10427967. Before spending the money on a service call, he suggested I contact Whirlpool to see if it is under recall. I contacted Whirlpools customer service. They told me the washer is not under recall but I may qualify to purchase their Repair + 1 service. When I expressed frustration at spending so much on a product that lasted only 3 years I was told This is not a known quality issue or recall. I will document a complaint for you. The chat session was then terminated by the customer service representative. We will spend over $300 to replace the part that Whirlpool obviously knows is flawed. However, I will not pay for an additional Whirlpool repair service to fix something that should not have broke in the first place. And Whirlpool (including Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn - Air, etc.) will never get our business again.

We took advantage considering our troubles with the first range. In October 2012, we noticed the oven started the same problem (2-3 clicks and would not ignite). In addition, the top burner clicks on its own to the point to having to unplug it. Since then, we have not plugged it back in for we feel it’s not safe! We have been working with WP Extended Service Plan (ESP). The obligor is the Federal Warranty Service Corp. for 2 months, ruining our Thanksgiving and now a few weeks till Christmas, our family is still without a range/oven. The ESP claims the damage is from chewed wiring from rodents. We live near fields that have just been cut; mice are coming into our home. However, when the tech came out, finally, he claims there are no chewed wires and the part he has to fix the oven is not worth putting in and will contact the ESP claims department to deem the range/oven non-repairable. This is the second range/oven - its doing the exact same problem as the first but ESP refuses to help us. The last supervisor would not do anything. We requested his ID# and he hung up on us. I contacted WP directly and waiting to if they can help.

The last time we called a plumber, I was trying to get a quote on a tankless water heater. Ive been so fed up with ours and I thought that would be a better route to go. The plumber explained the negative sides to a tankless water heater and explained that our water heater was a really nice, really expensive and fairly newer model. I told him that I had just gotten it about four years ago. He said he could just fix that one. So after looking at it, he acted as if he didnt know what an upper sensor was and told me it was under warranty and that I should call for the parts. Every time we have called for the parts, they send the same box thing on the front of the heater and every time, it doesnt fix it for long before it says the same thing. And now, like I said, the water heater has now added the problem of pouring water out of it. I need help. I dont know what to do. Im tired of not knowing if Ill have hot water or if the water heater is going to pour out water. Im pregnant and worried that if we cant get this fixed Ill continue to have this problem along with having a baby to take care of. Please help.

Very loud, supposed to have a water filter in upper right corner for easy access... its not there!Called Whirlpool, waited 20 min. & all the rep could say was, So sorry youre not happy. Asked if modifications could be purchased or made... nope. Asked to speak to quality control, a supervisor, anyone that may be able to give some satisfaction. Nope. She was making notes of all my complaints so they can be passed on to engineers for future models!!! Had a rebate offer, rep transferred me to that dept... cant/ wont honor it because 1 day too late. I spoke to her supervisor, Lisa at 9:15 am, she came on talking about the problem and let me talk, I asked her on several occasions are you still there, and she said yes, her words were that Whirlpool only repairs nothing else for the year as per my paperwork (record). I said we dont even get this till after we purchase the item, I mentioned I had a Cabrio Washer and it was junk and had more service calls than any other machine I owned. I have a stove as well from Whirlpool it’s been good so far, I told her with service like this, and them knowing their liners are made of cost cutting saving materials as I have read enough complaints about this on the internet, that Whirlpool is eventually going under and so are the other small shops that do part work for them and their jobs will be outsourced to Japan, China, India and so on, I asked if there was another person higher up than her I could speak to and she said no, they’re not available at this time I snickered and said thats management for you. They have a customer service rep (call center complaints which is Sherry), then supervisor like you (Lisa) then some other management that dont want to talk to you. Way to go Whirlpool. I told her to document that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance and I will definitely tell others and so on, and if we get enough folks to ban them they will leave USA or close and then Sherry and Lisa will be unemployed just like the rest of us in the good ole USA. Poor appliances for folks that can barely afford to make it and if you’re lucky and working like me and you buy something; shouldnt a refrigerator last more than this, and you stand behind your products? I also told her I know some are abused but this was not an abused product from me. It is a Whirlpool ‘cut your cost savings product’, and forgets the customer. Please look at the old appliances, I also mentioned I have an old Amana in my garage that is 17 years old runs great and never had a problem. And I gave her up for this piece of junk Whirlpool. I then told her I will write letters, emails and everything I can think of to ban this make and product. Model number of this refrigerator is GI7FVCXWBO, freezer on the bottom, fridge on top, side by side doors, solid black with ice maker. When I purchased this I bought it to last a long time as I had to finance it, and take from our monthly income. I had never had a nice fridge, but heck this is not nice. It’s a joke and the sad part is, I owe over $900.00 still and just got laid off. Thanks to the good ole USA and Michigan, but I will pay it off no matter what cause I pay my bills, and stand behind my name as a good person and citizen unlike Whirlpool. This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! It will not work at all. He has ordered a new one, and requested rush service, which I think they will ignore. I cant help but think these parts are manufactured somewhere outside the USA. Well, listen to this Whirlpool, I would rather pay $25 more for this part, and have your washing machine work. Dirty laundry might seem unimportant to you. It is not unimportant to us! If you cant do better than this, make something else. I am furious, and will spread this news to everyone I know, and I will report on this situation again.

We purchased the Cabrio washer & dryer with 6th Sense technology in 6/2007. What a mistake it has been. We have had 3 F1 error codes that a repairman has had to come fix all about a year and half apart. It makes crazy loud sounds if it decides to actually spin in the final spin cycle. It normally does not spin. It just always flashes UL for unbalanced load. We are extremely dissatisfied with this set. The dryer heating element has gone out also. We just purchased a new part. Prior to this, we had a hand me down washer & dryer that worked excellent. We regret getting rid of them, and now need to purchase a new washer & dryer. Whirlpool ought to stand behind its products and get this fixed.

After many complaints to corporate, they sent someone out to repair it for $496 (they paid). Repairman said these models had motherboards from Japan & Whirlpool was aware of the many issues, but wouldnt do a recall. 2009, the springs went out, 2011 F codes began to appear. Clothes dont get clean; not enough water. 2014 & 2015 DU & DL codes appear. Now I need a new Lid latch assembly. These washing machines are not worth buying. Never again will I buy another Whirlpool!! My mom had an old Kenmore that lasted 20 years and only needed a replacement belt. No more fancy high end washers for me!

I have a Cabrio washing machine and the circuit board has gone bad. I understand from Whirlpools customer service that if your machine was made before 2005, they are fixing the issue. Mine was made after 2006. Even though the problem is the same, Whirlpool will not correct the problem. I was told it was fixed in the new machines. The circuit board goes bad and you have to start and stop the machine at least three times before it will start your cycle, then it stops again at the 17 minute mark and you have to cancel and start the machine again for it to finish its cycle. The error is F1. Customer service acknowledged that this is a known problem for the Whirlpool machines built before 2005 but deny any claim that is is happening to the machines after 2005. Looking at all the other complaints, it is still a problem. I am disappointed in Whirlpool for their customer service attitude and for them not standing behind their product and fixing a known problem. I have always bought Whirlpool products but going forward will be switching to a better company. Shame on you Whirlpool. For a machine I spent $1000 on, the part is going to cost $300 to fix.

Fridge was purchased in Feb 2012 from one of the home improvement store chains - along with an extended warranty. It worked flawlessly for about two years, at which point it began draining into the freezer compartment and eventually onto the floor (up to a quart or more at a time). Initially this was a rarer occurrence, happening once every few weeks - but has recently become more and more commonplace.The extended warranty purchased with the appliance covered direct repairs, but am told it will not cover the associated damage to the hardwoods. The local technician contracted for repairs was familiar with the root cause and was able to diagnose immediately upon viewing the brand and style of fridge. As was explained, the drain systems are of extremely poor design leading to icing and blockage of the drain itself during defrost cycles. The only fix at that point is to essentially turn the refrigerator completely off (remove power) and manually defrost the entire thing. The repairs were conducted same day as this review, and as such I am unable to say whether or not the fix is a lasting one.As a note, Ive not experienced any other mechanical or electrical failures or shortcomings with this model. It cools effectively and properly and has not had any history of trouble with making ice - as some other reviewers have experienced. The door containing the ice dispenser (left side) however, does not stay open, swinging shut from full open in a little over 4 seconds. Im still awaiting a complete estimate on the floor, but an initial value on damages is in excess of $1,000. Given current knowledge and the opportunity to choose again, I would select another manufacturer.

Today, they say I need a new compressor at the tune of $850.00. This combined with my other repairs would add up to around $1,300.00. I am certainly not going to invest any more money in this refrigerator. I wouldnt recommend a Whirlpool Gold for anything. Dont know which brand I am going to purchase now as they certainly dont make anything like they use to. Totally disillusioned!!!

I have had trouble with this AccuBake stove since four months after I bought it in 2011. First, the clean cycle would work intermittently then would not ignite to bake, broil warm or clean. All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. Right now, I wish I had my $959 back for the stove and wish Whirlpool had it stuck up their butt.

It appears to be the lid locking mechanism and the washing machine will not turn on. It is under warranty and I am finding it hard to get a repair service in my area that is directed to Whirlpool to come and fix it. The only appliance repair in our area states that they will charge for trip and service if they find that is not a defect within the Whirlpool perimeters. I could be charged up to $200 for trip and service which is half of what I paid for. Whirlpool states this is not the case, and I am now having to wait a week to even set up yet another appointment. I have other machines that lasted 7-10 years until they wore out. I am frustrated and what could be a simple fix has turned into a financial nightmare.

Call them immediately on December 26, 2018. They set up a schedule for the following week on Monday. The man showed up. Could not believe how this could happen is that he had ordered me a whole new. Dealer said it will be back on Thursday or Friday that week. The serviceman still hasn’t called and it’s Friday. Called the serviceman no answer so here I go another week or two with no oven. The oven door fell when I opened it to take food out and fell in my legs. Have a nice black and blue. Maybe I should think of suing them instead of getting it fixed.

But it wasnt long before we both noticed something wrong with the washer. What was supposed to be one of the quietest washers on the market was far from it! -- loud grinding & thumping noises when the spin cycle would kick in. Whirlpool service dept was called and a repair tech was dispatched - 4 TIMES! The tech from Appliance Science spends most of his time on his phone talking to tech support, and has pretty much changed out parts at will! The motherboard, the pump, the clutch, the splutch have all been changed, to no use!We still experience problems with the washer NOT spinning, or only spinning for a short time, and the clothes still soaking wet! Its a good thing the dryer works well, because the washer is a dud, and we cant do a damn thing about it! Weve been told by Whirlpool service that since we have a repair warranty, we cannot get a replacement washer because we dont have a replacement warranty. Ive never heard something so ridiculous! Color us highly dissatisfied in TX!

When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

When I complained they offered to send another replacement, which I declined. They also offered to have it repaired by 2 firms which were very poorly rated on Yelp. Whirlpool stubbornly refused any other remedy. As I needed to resolve this right away because tenants were depending on having hot water. I replaced it with another hot water heater. In summary I wasted $570 for 9 months of use.

The laundry appliances have a loud beeping noise that goes off with the slightest contact, annoying and designed to be eliminated or muted. Today we discovered that the water filter in the fridge is single sourced at over $50 with shipping, which seems usurious at best. Will look elsewhere for the next house/purchase and NEVER buy from this company, including their other brands...Kitchenaid, Maytag, etc.
