Whirlpool Dryer Model WED4815EWO and Whirlpool Washer W10682799 - I have always had great results with Whirlpool products. Both are energy efficient and save on operating costs. I purchased them three (3) months ago. The washer locks during the wash cycle. That took a little getting used to. I have always been able to rely on Whirlpool products. The top loading washer (W10682799) is energy efficient and high capacity. It regulates the water level so you dont have to worry about wasting water. The matching Dryer (WED4815EWO) has a sensor to regulate your drying time or it can be manually set. I appreciate the worry free, self-regulating functions on both the washer and the dryer.

I bought Whirlpool Proton 3-door 18 months ago from a popular store at Chennai. I got a problem with cooling within 2 months. Service was availed and it got better. Same problem occurred again after 3 months of service, so I had it serviced again. Now the problem is its not working at intervals. I called the service and the person could not find any issues and says its working well. While it was pending resolution, the problem recurred and refrigeration is nil now. At the freezer, even after 8 hours, the water has not turned into ice and all food products have perished.

I called the dealers repair department, which said they had not seen this before and it looks defective. I have used the oven less than a dozen times. It is virtually new. They submitted pictures to Whirlpool. The oven surround is not replaceable, so the request is to get a new oven. Whirlpool responded with, This is normal... when the cracks break through, then there is a problem. What?! I have been cooking for over 50 years and have never had this experience before. This product is under warranty. By the time it cracks through, it will be too late to do anything about it. Since when is crazing on the oven bottom natural, especially after only a very few times used? This is defective and Whirlpool is shirking their warranty. I am very dissatisfied.

I bought a front loading Whirlpool washer a few years ago after having my old top loading Kenmore for 25 years. It seemed okay, but I did always have to leave the front door open and it always smelled musty, which was of some concern. My clothes never smell totally fresh. The biggest current problem is that several months ago it started with a failure code, alternately would stop without draining, wouldnt fill, or wouldnt drain, and ultimately ended up flooding my basement. So we called for service and they replaced a sensor and said these machines seem to have a lot of service issues with sensors blowing and motors dying. So I paid them that time. Now its a month or two later, failure code again, calling for service one more time. But if it costs too much I will join the legions of dissatisfied Whirlpool customers and will switch to an upright competitors brand.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

I purchased a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom on 8/17/12. Within 4 days, the ice maker stopped working. It took two days for the repairman to come out and fix it. So all is well with that. Less than 2 weeks later, the refrigerator isnt cooling. Several days later, the repairman came and determined it was the evaporator fan motor and clutch. The parts were back-ordered for 10 days. Parts came in 2 more days before he can come out and install them. He realized they sent the wrong parts. Another week went by, then he came and replaced the fan motor, which is now making an ear-piercing buzzing sound. He came back a week later and said it needed a gasket, which is back-ordered. In the meantime, he put some stick on insulation around the unit. Not much help. Another week went by, and the gasket showed up. It is still making a high-pitched whining sound. He said it was the compressor. Whatever! I hate the refrigerator. The sound is one that just grates on your nerves and you can hear it in all the rooms surrounding the kitchen! A repairman has to deem it unrepairable before they will even consider replacing it. They consider it fixed. What about my bleeding ears! I just want it gone! I am so disappointed. I thought Whirlpool was a good product with a solid reputation. I have a $2300 noise maker! Is there a class action lawsuit?!

I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seals material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

Five years ago I bought a brand spanking new HE set with a top load washer, top of the line Whirlpool. That washer has been a piece of junk and getting it serviced has been a nightmare. It broke, i.e., the computer part, and was out of commission for FOUR MONTHS. I live on an island off of Alaska, luckily I rented one for the duration but STILL. That was an EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLAR MACHINE. I liked that they are new and shiny and look cool. I hate that the electronics broke after a few years. Ive had washers dryers that lasted TWENTY YEARS. The next set I buy will have plain buttons for cycles and NO ELECTRONICS. None. And still none. Electronics instead of plain buttons. Im not kidding, I will never buy another one with electronics. I bought a top of the line Whirlpool HE top loading set for over $1400 five years ago and that washer has been a bust. I have had a repairman out over 5 times and the last time he took it out and kept it in the shop for FOUR MONTHS. I will never buy a fancy set again. I will buy the old kind with the plain old buttons. Do not make this mistake yourself! Just buy a plain old one!

I purchased the GBS309PVS single oven in Dec. 09 along with a Whirlpool Gold microwave, dishwasher, and stove top. The oven was dented and scratched, so another one was delivered on 1/10/10. I finally decided to use the cleaning cycle in Oct. 10. It burned out the circuit board and something else. It was under warranty and repaired. I was afraid to use it again, but tried it yesterday, 12/27/2011. It smelled horrible, knocked the power out of the oven, and the door will not unlock. Customer service was not very kind and said that I had to purchase a $269 warranty and they would send someone out. I did, unwillingly. Well see what happens on Friday. If this is not resolved, I will go further. This is a faulty part of the manufacturing and should be handled as so.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW6400SW2 Serial CU0272414: I replaced my wonderful 25+ year old Kenmore washer with the Cabrio, 4 years ago. Within the first year I had to have a computer board replaced that was covered under the warranty. This last 6 months I replaced the suspension rods, was constantly showing that the load was unbalanced. Also have a LD error, long drain, probably because a sensor is bad. Today, restarted a load several times and could never complete the entire cycle. I resorted to unplugging, and starting a drain spin cycle and the washer just flooded my house. So Im done with this unit. Waiting for a class action suit. Lets get started. What type of unit should I buy now. I guess Im going to subscribe to Consumer Report before I buy another. Laundromat for me in the meantime.

We have the Cabrio model and are thoroughly pleased with the performance. My only issue is the amount of sounds during the spin cycle. Otherwise, the machine is quiet. Please do not buy any Whirlpool product. Worst product and customer support. I got a new refrigerator on dec 2020, just after 1 month I started facing issues. I complained about that and 3 times they changed many parts. Still I am facing same issues. It doesn’t cool, makes too much sound. Every time I have to spend 30 mins in registering a complaint and sometimes they just close it on their own without even attending to it. So weird. Though the product is under warranty, it’s been more than 6 months that nobody has rectified the complaint. Even now my complaint is still pending. If I call customer support, they just provide some number and ask me to call them. Service representatives take their own time and not at all Serious about complaints. This kind of service they provide to customers. Beware of buying whirlpool products. Worst ever products and service.

We have a 2008 Whirlpool gas range that has worked reasonably well but lately more and more of the electronic push switches on the keypad have stopped functioning. So now I cant set an oven temperature as only a few of the 10 number switches still work. I talked to an appliance repair guy who said that the typical electronic keypads are notorious for burning out after 3-5 years because of heat transfer from the oven. So now Im stuck with an oven that is virtually unusable and a $400-500 cost to replace the keypad control. Is it worth replacing? Can the faulty control buttons be somehow fixed? Shouldnt Whirlpool acknowledge the faulty design and provide a free (and hopefully better) keypad? There must be thousands of people out there with similar circumstances. What about a class action suit? Any advice/opinions out there?

We paid $6,000 over and above my homes purchase price for double ovens that are defective. Whirlpool will not address the problem! When you bake a pie or a turkey, the bottom and center are raw, and the top burns, because the bottom element is hidden under the bottom of the oven, instead of on top of the interior floor area of the oven. Whirlpools new design is defective! The service technician says the oven is performing as designed therefore there is a design defect! However, Whirlpool will not take any action, because the parts are not broken and they send us back to the extended service plan people. It is ridiculous for the consumer to be caught in the middle. Whirlpool does not want to stand by their product. The builder of our home, Coleman Homes in Middleton, ID, purchased the ovens from Whirlpool originally. Therefore Whirlpool says we are not the original purchaser of the product, Coleman Homes are, and Whirlpool cannot do anything because we did not buy the ovens directly from Whirlpool ourselves, Coleman Homes did. The Whirlpool Warranty (waste of money) says they cannot do anything because it is not a parts issue. Coleman Homes says they cannot do anything because the warranty was given to us when we purchased the home. Whirlpool needs to replace the hidden element with a true baking element so the ovens will bake properly!!! Model Number: WOD51EC0AS Serial Number: D52208658

I have had my stove for 3 years and it works fine. However since I have become a grandparent, I have been extremely worried about the chance of being burnt. the problem is once you turn off the burner, it doesnt look any different than it does when not in use. It stays hot for a very long time however. Hot enough to burn or melt anything. There is no blocking a child from reaching up and touching it. I have placed a loaf of bread near it only to have it melt down the side. The burner didnt look hot at all. This was at least 15 min. after turning off the burner. Im not trying to cause issues but I believe this is a real danger, not only at the risk of someone getting a burn but also to the point of an entire family losing their home or even their lives. A simple flammable item being knocked over could start a fire. I ask that someone look into these risk.

I purchase a new Whirlpool Calypso with Catalyst Washing Machine in 2006 after a house fire. Thinking that I was buying a great machine. I was so upset with my house burning that I never thought about the washing destroying my towels, rugs and sweaters until it was too late on the guarantee. I called the company and ask if there were any more complaints about this machine, and of course they said no. I ask if there was a recall and they said no. I told them that there needed to be a recall of this machine. I so want them to see the towels that I have to use. I am so embarrassed of my towels that I have to buy new when company comes. I made no difference on the price that I paid for the towels. They all were destroyed by this Whirlpool Washer. I have had enough, I am buying a new Washer and it will not be a Whirlpool. I believe that the right thing to do is for the Whirlpool company to put a recall on this machine and give our money back. I had a friend that is in charge of another washer company and had him to look at it. He said that if that was his customer complaining about his washer that they would automatically bring the customer another new machine. I wish I had went with his company. Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW washer is a piece of junk! I have had issues since the day I bought it and havent even had some of the failed parts that other people are talking about. It does not save water. I went from 5000 gal to 13000 gal in one month! It doesnt wash clothes. Everything comes out with the same spots they went in with and then some. Light colors come out with what looks like grease spots and whites come out with black spots. I have had it five months and have used six of the monthly cleaning tabs. Clothes get tangled and torn because of the speed of the spin cycle even on delicate. This unit needs to be recalled and redesigned or customers should be offered a different washer of their choice within the price range of this unit.

I purchased a stainless steel dishwasher from Sears in August of 2014. 2 weeks ago I received error codes E2 and F2. A technician came out and the mother board needs replaced because water got into it... its a dishwasher. The cost to fix $465. I paid $673. The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. This is my last purchase from Sears. We have bought appliances for 30 years from Sears and this is the end. They could care less about customer service or their products. Apparently everything is now made by Whirlpool who will also be getting a review. Shame on you for making poor products.

After replacing our competent GE dishwasher with a Samsung dishwasher and having to replace it immediately due to the terrible job it did, we bought a Whirlpool Gold Series (stainless tub) for just under $400. I realize this is the bottom of the stainless tub price point, but we have been so disappointed! The silverware container sites outside the regular tub, and rarely cleans even easy substances to remove, if there are more than a few items in each container. Dishes on the other levels are very hit or miss -- each and every load has to be examined for dirty dishes. Id pull this one out and return it too if it werent such a hassle. Dont buy this product.

We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator on July 9, 2012. Refrigerator was replaced on August 23, 2012. Since then there have been many, many service calls. I wish I had kept records to be able to tell you exactly how many times, but we purchased an extended warranty. From memory, I can tell you the ice maker has been replaced twice, new doors have been installed for refrigerator and freezer (replacing ice maker a third time), then within the last three months the freezer door was again replaced (replacing ice maker a fourth time). The gasket on the freezer door has been replaced. At one point the refrigerator was colder and freezing and the freezer was not freezing. Parts and pieces have been repaired on several occasions. The inside of the freezer door next to the ice maker is still frosting up and yet again the ice maker is not functioning and needs to be replaced a fifth time. In other words this Whirlpool refrigerator has been a lemon for us. Finally, we figured it out. There is a fairly large gap at the top of the freezer door between the case and the gasket. If you run your hand across the area where the gap is, there is definitely a dip in the face of the refrigerator case where you can see the top of the ice maker. A picture showing the gap is attached. I am not sure that our purchasing a store extended warranty was fortunate or not. My husband has insisted on repairing this thing over and over and over because of the extended warranty. I think repairing it is futile and the only people being punished by all the repair calls is us because we frequently do not have ice, we are losing food because of freezing or not freezing or cooling or not cooling as the case may be. Thank God, the warranty expires in July and we can repair this Whirlpool by replacing it with another brand -- not in any way associated with Whirlpool. If you Google Whirlpool, you will find that Whirlpool is affiliated with almost every other brand of refrigerator and really limits your choices. Based on my experience with this Whirlpool refrigerator, I will never purchase another Whirlpool or any other brand associated with the Whirlpool brand. The myriad of repair persons in my home probably find a Whirlpool refrigerator is job security for them.

Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

2013 Whirlpool gold series stainless steel dishwasher, at that time it was their top of the line product, nice looking, stainless steel, stainless steel tub, very quiet. However this piece of junk does not stay fixed for more than a year, at best. I am a technician by trade albeit not on consumer appliances, I usually work on more complex multimillion dollar equipment; point being, I know my stuff.I have been throwing parts on this box like no tomorrow, Tub replaced, water director motor replaced, top railing replaced, small plastic pieces on top rack replaced. MTBF - Mean time before failure is 6-8 months and deteriorating over time. 2 issues are predominant symptoms of its failures, its either leaking or dishes dont get cleaned. I see the symptoms again and I am tired of fixing it so it going to the curb tomorrow. There is no way an expensive appliance like this (around 800$) can cost 100$ a year in parts to maintain (Note: parts only)... not to mind my labor and hassle ++ water damage to your cabinets. Stay away from Whirlpool and keep your sanity!

All this in first year. Builder purchased 1 year Extended Warranty. Freezer ices up occasionally. Repairman advised using a hair dryer to free up the rails. I purchased model #GI7FVCXWY01, SERIAL #KY4234335, and it arrived in Jan 2010. It is now going in the trash! Two repair companies came out and both told me the ice maker had issued a recall, but in reality, Whirlpool told me to buy the replacement part for $348.73 to fix their poor design! I called the 1-866-698-2538 customer service and so sorry is all you get! By the way, neither of the repair were willing to install the replacement part, as it takes too long to install and these compressors are never the same after the ice maker has these issues! Both repairmen said to trash the refrigerator. How sad that a $2500 refrigerator only last from Jan 2010 until June 1, 2014!!! I will never buy a Whirlpool anything!

I have a model ED20PK. The doors are rusting on the outside. This refrigerator was purchased by my husband who has passed, I do not have the receipt and I dont know where he purchased it. The refrigerator worked perfect. It has been in my kitchen from day of purchase. My home is adequately heated in winter and air conditioned in the summer. I have an up-scale home. I dont see any reason to replace the refrigerator, but I cannot stand the deteriorating condition of the doors. If I replace it, I will not buy a Whirlpool or any brand made by Whirlpool. The rust is not just a discoloration, it is actually rough to the touch and is getting worse day by day. If you have any answers or help I would appreciate a phone call. I am not really in an economic position to just go and buy a new refrigerator.

My mother purchased a Whirlpool gas stove. When the stove arrived the door didnt shut properly. We were told to contact Whirlpool. They sent a repair person out who said that you have to use the stove a few times first and then the door would close. Meanwhile, I had a 2-inch gap and gas and heat escaping. I called and requested another company to come out and check it. No one called back. I called again and they sent out the same repair guy. Apparently hes the only one in the whole Charlotte metro area that can service Whirlpool. Again he said I had to use it more. I called again and requested a different repair person to come out. They promised to send out a lead. When the company called to confirm the appointment they said no one told them that. They finally sent out a different person. That person said absolutely the door was dented. He offered to replace the door. He then came back and said the door comes in too many pieces and he didnt want to put it together so I should contact the store I bought it from and see if they would replace it. Whirlpool refused to repair it. I was able to get the store to replace it after explaining to them the problems with the warranty service. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they lied and said they tried to contact me which never happened. When I called the executive office I was told that I was the problem and that it was resolved so leave them alone. I regret my purchase of my appliances and now have no one to stand by the warranty.

We have also had many problems with 3 year old convection oven. After about 2 months the broiler would just come on in the bake mode. I called Whirlpool about this problem and they were a bit ignorant on the matter. They said they could arrange a service call, but if they did not find the same problem mentioned that I could be charged a service call, even though it is under warranty. I denied at the time and the problem did not happen again for about another 1-1/2 years or so. In the last few months it has happened a number of times and the one time my wife leaves the room, the potpie burns up. She also lost a pan of brownies. Now we make sure that someone is in the kitchen when the oven is in use. Today the broiler comes on while pre-heating and for the 1st time we receive a message TURN OFF POWER TO RESET in which I did thru the breaker. It took forever to cool down, then she is going to try again. I also am going to contact Whirlpool and see what they have to say. Last I checked there was no recall for this model (#GFE461LVS), but there should be after reading all of the complaints or they are bound to have a lawsuit on their hands or maybe even a class action lawsuit.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

I purchased a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator for my wifes birthday because my old one was old, ugly, rusted and didnt match. Since she likes to cook, it was her dream in life to have a stainless steel refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. At the time, it was the only kind that would fit into spot. One year ago, first the ice maker leaked causing water to spill onto the floor. Since I am a mechanical whiz I bought the part for about $30 and fixed it myself. We were happy. After two years, the freezer worked, but the refrigerator part went warm. I had a repairman replace the control box for $100. It still didnt work. We called Whirlpool, and they said the warranty expired, but as a courtesy, would charge me $95 for a service call. That was not acceptable. They told my wife that the products were man-made and are prone to mistakes. I replaced the fan myself for $100, but drove a total of two hours to get the part since it was rare. It worked great. For one and a half weeks, we were happy. Then the refrigerator and freezer DIED. Only the light and the fan worked. We bought a old school used GE top freezer, but at least it is stainless steel. We lost $2000 in two years and the people at Whirlpool refuse to do anything about it because it isnt their problem. Worst refrigerator EVER!!! !

I am so disappointed with this washer. I totally dread doing laundry. The following are the complaints: Every load comes out totally twisted and wrinkled!! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). I should have taken the time to write a review much sooner, but decided today was the day after doing laundry. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now May 2019. After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous. So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model number GX5SHDXVQ02/K02778282) on 9/18/2010. It broke down in 1 year and 8 months; the circuit board control went completely out and ruined all my food. Whirlpool stated I was beyond the 1-year warranty and said there was nothing they would do, except sell me a 1-year warranty for $299. I was at their mercy, so I purchased the warranty for $299 and had the fridge fixed. I would like to be reimbursed at least for the $299 warranty charge. This company should be ashamed of manufacturing such a flimsy product and not standing behind the item to protect their name.

I purchased an 80-gallon electric water heater in 2009 with a Lifetime warranty. When the unit failed in 2021, I was told that Whirlpool no longer manufactures an 80-gallon tank. I was provided an R/A# and was told that Lowes should honor it with a like-kind replacement unit. Lowes originally suggested I order an AO Smith Hybrid online, (at my expense), return my old tank, and they would reimburse my account. When I went back to confirm this offer, it was adjusted to a $200 credit (suggesting that was the value at the time of purchase). Later, Lowes again adjusted their offer to cover $650 toward a replacement 50-gallon tank with a 6-year warranty and 30-gallons less capacity. Other manufactures do produce 80-gallon tanks and Lowes does have AO Smith tanks available online only. I would have to pay the difference beyond the $650 offer.I purchased the original 80-gallon tank because I need the capacity and I assumed the Lifetime warranty would allow for an even trade if/when something went wrong. The proper solution would be for Whirlpool/Lowes to offer a replacement value for any comparable 80-gallon tank regardless of the manufacturer. Currently, similar tanks average $1300-1500. (Westinghouse w/ Lifetime warranty at Home Depot). Lowes should also be able to order the tank for in-store delivery as opposed to having me order online at my own expense. Meanwhile, the current tank is leaking and will soon be out of service...

Then because I had to have the ice maker replaced in March and it did nothing for the unit he reports back to A Plus Appliance that theres nothing to be done and he says his diagnostic tests come back that it is fine. Im going to post a very negative review about them. Lowes told me that if he would have reported differently they would have given me a voucher and refunded my money. So have another Appliance repairman come in tomorrow.I bought the extended warranty and so far its gotten me nowhere. As many times as Ive had to unclog it and throw away food I could have had technicians out here hundreds of times for this defective refrigerator. Plus on the two service calls I had they said that there has been numerous complaints about this model and the ice maker and freezing over. I have thrown thousands of dollars of food away over the last 2 years. Lowes extended warranty has got me nowhere.

I purchased a Whirlpool Water Heater Model # ND50T122-403 on March 4, 2011 from Lowes. I had it installed by Lowes and it included a 12 YEAR Manufacturers (WHIRLPOOL) WARRANTY, plus I purchased an additional 11 YEAR EPP (Extended Protection Plan) WARRANTY. About 3 weeks ago I had no hot water so I went down to my basement to check the water heater and it displayed 7 single blinks followed by a 3 second pause, which is a flammable vapor sensor lock-out code. I made sure there was no flammable vapor in the area, turned off the gas and pulled out the plug then called Lowes since I have an active warranty with them. They said I had to wait 3 business days for them to call back to set-up an appointment to have it repaired. I waited 3 business days including the weekend and no one called me back by the end of the 3 business days, so I called Lowes back and they set-up an appointment for a video store owner with a plumbing license to come over and try to fix it. Finally I thought I would have hot water after over 2 weeks without it, but the plumber started taking it apart and about an hour later said he needed to order a part and he would be back another day when he gets the part. He came back 2 days later to install the part and fix it, but he could not fix it. He called Whirlpool to report the issue and Whirlpool told him they would not honor the warranty because my basement was not safe. He then told me he would call Lowes to let them know about Whirlpools position and call me back. So when he called me back he said Lowes said the current warranty was under Whirlpool and their warranty was only effective after the initial 12 year manufacturers warranty was up, so they would not help any further. So after only 4 1/2 years with a 12 year manufacturers warranty and an additional 11 year extended protection warranty that I purchased from Lowes, Whirlpool will not honor the warranty that came with this water heater. I am going to take this to small claims court. Whirlpool and Lowes have terrible customer service policies. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product and I will NEVER again shop at Lowes. Please do NOT EVER buy a Whirlpool water heater! TAKE YOUR CLAIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR SATISFACTION! Maybe an attorney will put in another class action suit against Whirlpool and/or Lowes.

In less than a year the noise started, then the freezer became a refrigerator and my frozen stuff melted. I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. I have owned Craftmaster 30-gallon hot water heater and the only things reliable about it is trouble and aggravation. I purchased this in 2004. I have had to replace the controls, valves, wires, etc. three times in 10 years. And Im now looking at doing it a fourth time. The design of these parts are utter crap! Cheap plastic! After replacing these parts, this hot water heater works great for a few years, then invariably starts acting up. The pilot light goes out when the heater is supposed to kick on instead. Getting the pilot light lit again, is an exercise in futility! The red reset button once released, immediately extinguishes the ignition flame. Supposedly, after holding it down for 1-2 minutes allowing gas to build up, it should light the coils... and if it doesnt, youre supposed to wait 10 minutes to try relighting again. You can repeat this process for 12 hours, and if you finally do get this temperamental piece of junk to light, youre lucky. Customer Service has been useless in assistance. All they want to do is send you e-mail, and get you off the phone. Not to mention, Ive been told by many a rep that the hot water heater extinguishes itself, if water is overheated, and that it must be my fault for setting the temp too hot. Baloney... Ive been told that the underside vent must be cleaned every few months, so that air flow is accurate. Makes no difference one way or the other. And recently, Ive been told by a rep, that my 40-yr-old house likely doesnt vent exhaust out through the roof properly. This product is inferior and unpredictable. Its great when it works, and the pilot light stays lit. God forbid it ever goes out though! It is next to impossible to relight. I have spent more money on service technicians attempting to repair/replace parts, than it would have cost to simply by a new hot water heater. I miss the old days, when it was easy to light a hot water heater: Strike a match, turn the gas on, and instant hot water. No muss, no fuss. Having owned many properties w/ hot water heaters over the years, I have never encountered such repeat problems, as with this product. Its simply not reliable, and not worth the $$$. Never again, will I buy a Craftmaster Product. And I had no clue that there was a Class Action Suit filed, and a settlement involved in these faulty units. Whirlpool/Craftmaster should have notified everyone, who purchased one of their units. Now Im stuck w/ a constantly broken unit, and zero recourse. I will never buy anything Whirlpool/Craftmaster again, as a result.

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

Love the dishwasher, except the racking which has some top rack channels which are too small to be used by glasses, mugs, etc. The Power On/Off should automatically power down when the cycle is finished. Too often when someone leans against the dishwasher while opening the overhead cupboard, the dishwasher will start up because the unit was not powered down.

I purchased my Whirlpool French door refrigerator about 2 years ago. I shopped around and read reviews before deciding on the Whirlpool. After about 9-10 months the ice maker didn’t seem to produce enough ice. I called the store I purchased it at and tried to get them to come out and find out what was wrong. They waited and waited. I had to call them back at least 2 times before they finally sent someone. But by the time they sent someone to look at it the one year warranty had expired. I spent $1800.00 on this refrigerator and it didn’t even last longer than a year. Of course Whirlpool wanted to come look at it and charge me another $100.00 service call and possibly another $100.00 for parts and labor. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

The plastic holding the vegetable drawers broke and now they are cracking because nothing is there to hold them in place. This fridge has a freezer on the bottom, which I like. Unfortunately, I had an Amana before this and it was wonderful- just old. I had to settle for a smaller refrigerator and that is part of the problem.

We purchased the largest Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (over $1100 value) 3.5 years ago, and had nothing but trouble out of it. The drum has had to be replaced twice, the motor once, and then supposedly a bolt kept coming off on the drum as well, that had to be tightened twice. Now, we dont know what is wrong with it - we suspect suspension imbalance or something, because this extra large capacity washer is constantly unbalanced even with 6 articles of fabric in it now, and I dont even think about putting even what would be considered a medium-large load in it, because it flat up will not wash. You can put a level on it, and it shows leveled, but it still wont operate worth anything. My wife is so put out by it at this point that she has even talked about getting an old ringer washer (seriously). Sears keeps coming out here because we had purchased the extended warranty and truly if they had simply replaced the washer after the 2nd trip to the house, they would have more than paid for the replacement washer even. Instead, they keep coming, looking at it, then having to order parts, and then come back a couple weeks later to put the shipped parts (which sit around our house), back in to repair it each time. All the while, we go without a washer or barely can wash any clothes. We have even taken clothes to the laundromat during one of the repair instances, because we cant just have mounds of clothes piled up for their month-long service. It is ridiculous how little it seems that Sears and Whirlpool care about their customers. I have gone to Whirlpool and Sears Home Services sites and complained at both. I have called both of their 800 lines in the past and again, this yielded nothing to truly depict either company cares. It just goes to prove that customer satisfaction is far less valuable to either of these companies than the bottom dollar profits in our opinion. I dont know where else to post our concerns/frustrations, so anyone can see how put out these two companies have caused us and dont care, but if anyone knows of anywhere else I can post blogged concerns, please let me know.I have complained previously about a dishwasher that we had purchased that we had numerous issues with. Those complaints fell on deaf ears to Whirlpool and really Sears as well. I dont think all the washers are duds, but this one has been nothing but trouble, and Sears wont just replace it, Whirlpool dont care. I have been given the runaround that it is because there arent three (3) service calls in a 12-month period for the exact same issue. Well, I am sorry that it doesnt appear to be just one thing! I have had it with these services calls, parts having to be ordered, only to hit the crazy repeat button again every time! This is far from good customer service, in my opinion, but rather a way to ensure the most profit is achieved! Thanks.Sears and Whirlpool have the worst customer service ever!

Refrigerator Model ED5FVGXWSO2 - After owning it for a couple of years, we decided to do a super cleaning and remove all the shelves. When we took the shelves out, I noticed that the plastic support tracks were all cracked. I called and complained to Whirlpool and of course the fridge was out of warranty but heres the good part - The person on the phone asked me Did you put heavy things on the shelves? OMG My response, trying to think of the heaviest thing possible, was, Like milk cartons and juice? She even said There was likely a bad batch of plastic when the shelves were made. I was a big fan of Whirlpool. Great value etc. but I will never buy from them again. Shelves should last the life of the fridge!

One year to the day after the warranty expired, the meat drawer in the refrigerator began filling with water. Two repairmen have been to my home and cannot repair it due to a design flaw. Also, I had to pay for a cracked bottom tray that happened during delivery which I didnt know occurred at the time. Whirlpool is now ignoring my phone calls and emails. We paid in excess of $800 last year. What am I going to do now? Buy another refrigerator and get rid of this one? I dont make that kind of money and I feel Whirlpool should stand behind their products. This model is not even on the recall list so that means to me that other consumers buying this model are getting ripped off also. The customer service people say sorry but wont budge on reimbursement. I was told they cannot honor my request. Whether this was under warranty or not, it still cannot be fixed according to the repair tech that was at my home. I need to find someone to help me before this lemon I bought decides to burst into flames. I want a replacement refrigerator, not this model of course, of equal value. I am not asking for the moon, just for something that works beyond one year. In this economy, we cant afford to buy a major appliance after one year. My car is still running and I bought that in 1985. Please find someone to help me. I thank you for your time.

I am having problems with my Whirlpool Water Heater. The pilot light goes off often and now it wont stay lit at all. I checked the thermocouple and measured the voltage, it is 19+ mV. So according to the manual, the gas valve/thermostat must have gone bad. I called the company and they gave me a name of the contractor but asked me to pay for the labor cost. This is a 50 gallon, 12-year rated heater bought from Lows in 2008. The heaters model number is BFG1J5040T3NOV. This thing has some serious quality issues.

We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. These big companies just walk all over us consumers.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! If I could I would rate this fridge and Whirlpool’s repair and customer service a NEGATIVE 100. My wife and myself purchased this refrigerator on 6/2/19. On 6/16/19 we noticed that it was not cooling as should, we called in to set up a repair service call only to find out that we had to wait until 6/20/19 to have a service tech come out to look at the refrigerator. When the service person came out to look at it he stated that it needed a sensor??? And that they would have to wait until the evaporator thawed out to replace the sensor. We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling. Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. If I could I would return this defective unit and buy a different brand of refrigerator. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! I will make sure that I let everyone I know that I would never recommend a Whirlpool product!!

Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.

The Whirlpool range has worked effectively and efficiently for over ten years. We have experienced no problems. It is used several times a day to prepare meals and bake items. The cook top gas burners ignite easily, provide equal flame distribution, and the oven has an air blowing feature that makes cooking and baking much easier. One reason we chose Whirlpool was because this brands stellar performance history, its appearance, and its functionality. Overall, we could not have selected a better appliance for our use. We can unequivocally state that was and still is a solid performer for its cost.

I also purchased a Whirlpool range (model YGFE461LVQ) and the convection fan went on it a month after we bought it. The manufactures warranty does not allow repair people to travel any further than 100 km to repair, something that we had to take the stove in to be repaired. We got the stove back the same day and brought it home. Low and behold, after a short period of time it started to rattle again and got steadily worse. Also, now my one burner on high does not stay on high; it keeps going out then coming back on.I have called the place we purchased these pieces of junk from and they said there is nothing they can do. I also sent e-mails to Whirlpool and they said they will look into it and get back to me. That was months ago. I called Whirlpool and was basically told that there was nothing they can do, that I was to call the repairman. Never, never, ever buy a Whirlpool product.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer combo with max load capacity for comforters. This is the biggest set of junk ever. Where to start? There are so many issues, starting with the fact that nothing comes clean, no matter if I even put one small item in it at a time! The fabric softener dispenser is a joke. It runs straight through into your unwashed clothes before the cycle even begins. The dryer never gets the clothes dry on the first cycle. I’ve had this washer since October 2018. Worst purchase ever. It does not clean the clothes nor does it put enough water in it. I’ve tried the deep water option too and it’s for sure still not enough. I don’t understand how they even thought that this was perfectly fine to sell. If I could’ve taken it back a month after having it, I for sure would. And no one will buy it because they’ve read reviews of how it’s terrible. I wasted $900 on this washer. I have the dryer also which works amazing. The washer just sucks something terrible. My husbands military uniforms always look dirty and a lot of the clothes aren’t ever wet. I’ve finally seen a picture of how you’re supposed to have clothes in there. Why in the world would you only allow barely a layer of clothes at the very bottom to be cleaned by the agitator? Why would you have this huge drum only to put not even a load in there? This was such a waste Whirlpool and I’m glad I’m not the only person who has the same issue. I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer, it’s upsetting I can’t currently get rid of this crap washer I have now.

We bought an oven built in from IKEA - Whirlpool. It didnt work from the beginning. We called for a technician, who comes in the next day, took the defective part and ordered a new one. Took two weeks to arrive. Now I just found out that I will have to wait another week for somebody to come and install the replaced part. I am very disappointed with their way to serve me as a client. I explained to them that itd be nice if the technician it will come at the first hour in the morning ex. 9 am so I can go back to work after that. Which is not possible. The tech is more important than you as a customer. The technician will give you a 2 hours windows to arrive and after that who knows how long it will take the repair. So far I have this build-in-oven in the kitchen just for design, is not useful I doubt that it will be working soon. The lady who called me from Whirlpool Canada was giving me theyre the option in the manner or take or leave it.To be honest, I regret buying this oven, so far I havent used. Wasted my time trying to get them to be more efficient, but got the message from them that I dont matter. Never been treated so wrong by somebody who is working in customer service. The first call it was coming from a company which is located in Maple Ridge, BC phone number 604-466-5597 and when I insisted on having the repair being done asap they hung up on me. I asked for supervisor or a manager, and they told me they are not allowed to give any of those on the phone... Buying this oven was a mistake, trying to deal with them another mistake. He ordered new parts and I waited over 3 weeks for next repair call to find out that whirlpool had part all along. Repair man came again and still no resolution to issue. He was told to order same parts again - still no resolution yet again. I fought with Whirlpool till they said they would give me a new machine. Now fighting because delivery people wont uninstall 1st washer and install new machine. Today is June 28 2021 and I still DONT HAVE A WASHER TO USE. I havent even used the dryer yet. Whirlpool Duet $1300, in the past we had great service from other Whirlpool products. Just a more modern look and knowing it was a company we had used in the past with very little or no problems so we expected the same only with energy and water savings. We are energy aware and believe in conserving energy and water where we can. My wife wanted to stick with the brand that gave us good service in the past and chose one of their most conservative units on the market (I believe it was based mainly on looks). What burns me the most about this unit is its constant consumption of clothing, the repair guy found nothing askew with the unit and suggested smaller loads. So we reduced the load size smaller and smaller till we were washing each outfit separately and guess what, it still ate clothes, just chews them up.We lose about a hundred dollars a month in clothing. This washer tears holes and shreds clothing on almost every load, I have to put shirts and lighter clothes to the back of the washer then load the heavier blue jeans and such toward the front and hope they finish in the same position or something is ruined. The fabric becomes distressed, stretched, shredded or has holes, or any combination of the above. We have taken to going to a laundromat or sending clothes to the cleaners. These units are three years old and we are now looking for a replacement for the washer because the local service guy won’t even come out any more. This problem surfaced within a week of the first use of the machine and has remained steady, as we are retired and travel a lot we are not always using them so they are what I would term very lightly used.

The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.

Based on good reviews at the time I purchased the Cabrio. Nothing gets clean. The detergent stays on the clothes and unless I use the Bulk senor. Otherwise I get horrible white marks on all the dark clothes. I cant even get the marks off with a wet rag. So washing only a few items I have to use Bulk. The sound is so bad from the machine, my dog runs in the closet and shakes. I feel so bad for her. How can a popular name like Whirlpool make such an inferior product? They dont even stand behind it.
