I had purchase a Fusion Supreme refrigerator (model 180). After some time, I found that the color of the refrigerator was faded and I very well know the color of the refrigerator was recolored. This is a concern on your prestigious brand’s image.

I paid ~$1200 for a new Whirlpool (French door top fridge and pull out freezer bottom) 7 years ago when I bought my house. I was so excited - and the appliance has been a problem from the beginning. It has always made a very loud knocking noise - even when it was new. I was told by the technician there was nothing he could do and Home Depot wouldnt help me with it either. My freezer has gone out three times - the last time was the day before Christmas Eve 2016 (a few days ago). I lost everything for my Christmas dinner that was in my fridge because that went first. Then when the service man came today, I was told it was the freezer that is causing the problem and everything had to be defrosted - plus they had to order a part that would take 3 to 5 days - so Im now going to lose everything in my freezer as well. All in all with the three service calls and the food I have lost probably amounts to around $800 - $900. I am so upset and cannot get any help from anyone. So, Im just warning you - NEVER buy a Whirlpool!

Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a rep
Hi Folks, so today I had the pleasure to speak to Whirlpool regarding a repair bill on our washing machine which now has a bearing failure and estimate to repair was 1279.00. Its 6.5 Yrs old, just out of extended warranty and cost me with the pedestal a total of 1250.00 when new. I explained that in the 6.5 since I have lived at this house where we spend all new Whirlpool Gold Appliances, half have now failed. Range Microwave, Dishwasher and now the 1250.00 front loader is dying a slow and agonizing death with a bearing failure. Just so everyone understands, the estimate is from an official Whirlpool repair service that was booked through the Whirlpool website. Other repair folks just would not bother to look at it when I told them I believe the bearing was going bad.The repair man that arrived was professional and on time. However, I had a hard time understanding how a 6.5 Yr old washing machine would be considered beyond economical repair by costing 1279.00 to repair. Labor was 250.00 which I thought was fair. Time, etc. But parts made up the difference in cost. So later in the day, I spoke to Whirlpool and they offered the equal new washer for what would seem an excellent price. About half off. Wow, I thought that sounded good. So I asked if my existing pedestal would work with the new washer and it did not and I would have to pay for one. Regardless if my old one was fine or not.So, they offered a discounted rate from new at another half off. Total approx 800.00. So, I asked the Whirlpool rep to hold on and I need to check with my wife if she wants the replacement. She uses it as much as I do and wanted her thoughts. She checked the model on the washer and pedestal and with the local Home improvement store, they have it on sale for both units (washer and pedestal) and its about 50.00 less?Consequently, I called Whirlpool back and explained that it does not move the needle to regain my trust as compensation on a 6 yr bearing failure, failed dishwasher and range microwave they offer what a distributor of their product can offer for less as a package? Really? I mean, the Home improvement store is not in the business to lose money. Now, I am having a hard time understanding my own failure to have trust in a brand I used to have with my previous house. My mom had an old Whirlpool washing machine that lasted 25 years before she and my dad gave it away. You know, the old white top loader they used to make back in the 70s. Sheet metal, made a racket and never broke? Oh yeah got the clothes clean too! I dont know what to make of it anymore. So, I will just wait till it dies and take my hard earned money and spend it on another brand in my next house which we are going to move to soon. Maybe I can feel nostalgic and find my moms old washer. Its probably washing someones rags right now and getting them clean. It must be 35 yrs old by now.I dont expect to get anything for free. Its out of warranty, so I need to deal with the consequences, but there are steps the other party can take to help remedy the situation. I think they tried and it was genuine but in my thoughts its just not enough when your local box store is offering the same. When you develop a brand to extend a message of trust in quality and value, you need to have quality and value all the time. I suggested they help with the costs on the parts. I would certainly pay for the labor. Parts cost little to the manufacturer. Unable to help that way. I thought it was cheaper for them too. Guess not. Its come to be a throw away washing machine at 6.5 yrs and I am Infinitely disappointed. I just want my washing machine to work as well as my mothers old one and have the possibility to fix once in a while when needed.

I HATE, HATE, HATE the aqua lift clean feature. Its awful. The bottom came somewhat clean but cook bacon and the sides and top are filthy and the aqua lift cant clean that. I dont know how this ever made it past the thought process stage to become a thing but it needs to go away. Im quite cranky right now as Ive just spent two hours scrubbing my oven while reaching past the oven door that doesnt come off because its a self-clean oven. This is what I have to look forward to for the next 10 years until it dies and I can get a new oven? What a joke!!

We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher about 8 months ago. Immediately called for service as dishes did not clean after running over 3 hrs. Was told it is operating as designed. I followed all the tips and it still continues to not clean. Plastic wear and cups stay wet, plates arent clean. We have changed detergents pods as well. We may junk it and buy something else. Recently purchased clothes washer and did not buy Whirlpool. Very, very disappointed. I should have kept my 12 yr. old GE Dishwasher that wasted water... But cleaned my dishes. Not happy with Whirlpool!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 6 years ago. This washer has been such a terrible appliance, I would not recommend that anyone buy one. The top of the washer has broken 2 times. Whirlpool will do nothing about it. It is a manufacturers defect where the glass pops out of the top and then breaks the frame it is in. We had it replaced last year and the new one is now broken - same problem. It also does not get clothes clean and the clothes get ruined because they become all entangled in one another. We will never purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. I did have a 5 year service contract on these appliances but once out of warranty - you are on your own.

We got our Whirlpool french door refrigerator with freezer on the bottom (Model: GX5FHDXVY04) in June 2010. In the past six months, the refrigerator portion loses cooling and temperatures go to the 60s or 70s. We found out that by turning the unit off until it defrosts, it will work again for awhile. Weve had water overflow on our wood floor. When this happened the third time, I called Whirlpool to send a repair person. The person I talked to said it could be over $400 to repair and that it would be more economical to get an extended warranty for about $314, which I did. I did not receive the contract via email (it may have gotten lost in spam). The repair man came and said yes, this was a common problem due to a design flaw and that it needed a $6 part to make the water drain smaller - so that too much air didnt get in.It was May 1st before the repair could return to install it. This was done and we thought - expensive but its taken care of. Today, May 5th, the same problem happened and I have to throw away food again. Its the weekend and there is not a repair person available for two weeks - I got an order number and may request that the repair come sooner. To add insult to injury, I found out that the extended warranty is good only up to $450 and not good for any repair that might be needed in a year. Most of the repair goes to travel to get to Fairfield and labor and we have used most of the warranty already.

I bought a Whirlpool/Fridge Freezer Model WRF560SMYM 01, less that two years ago. Two months ago it started making a terrible noise. Apparently the freezer was iced up and a mechanic defrosted it. It happened twice more and he left saying he could not fix it. Another arrived and took the model number and he disappeared. A third the same. Now I have an empty freezer, just an ice maker. It seems to not freeze up so quickly with the moisture control on. Over $2,000 down the drain unless somebody can fix it. Oh and the fridge gets very cold! Does anyone have any ideas apart from throwing it out and buying another? Never another Whirlpool!

This flat top electric range has a cooktop large enough to accommodate several large cooking pots at the same time and is so easy to clean. A feature I love is the Keep Warm burner. The two front burners have 2 different heating ranges to accommodate small or large pots or pans. The self-cleaning convection oven heats evenly and provides 2 oven racks for maximum use. Whirlpool does it right every time.

I had started the dishwasher and had gone to bed last night. I came downstairs ten minutes later to get a bottle of water. There was smoke throughout my downstairs levels. Our Whirlpool Gold Dishwashers control had dark, noxious smoke emitting from it. I tried to turn it off but it was too hot to touch. I went to the breaker box and shut it off there, turned on fans, and went back to bed. This morning, it turned the electricity back on. It started smoking again. I tried to cancel the cycle but it wouldnt cancel. I opened the door to stop the cycle and it continued spraying water and still wouldnt shut down. I had to shut it off at the breaker again. Next problem is my refrigerator, washer and dryer are all on the same breaker. UGH! This is the second Whirlpool I have had. The first one had a rusted tub that leaked into our basement. The repair guy said he had never seen that before...sure...why would you put something in a dishwasher that would rust out on you? Whirlpool, NEVER AGAIN. I WILL PASS THIS INFO ON TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON I EVER KNOW. COUNT ON IT.

We bought a Gold Series dishwasher on 2/12/2013. It stopped working properly and we had a service call on August 6, 2013. Since then, we have had 3 companies come out 5 different times to try to fix the machine. Nothing on the top rack gets clean. In fact ,they come out dirtier than when they go in. The last service call was on October 7, 2013. I was told by a Whirlpool representative that the repairman would call technical services and that if the problem was not solved, that the machine would be deemed unrepairable and that Whirlpool would replace the machine since it was within the warranty. I was also told that their standard is that if a machine has to have 3 service repairs to be deemed unrepairable. So 7 days after the last repair, the machine was still not washing correctly. Once again everything on the top rack was dirty. The machine has had the motor, the pump, and the hoses replaced. Still doesnt work. So I called again to get the ball rolling on replacing the machine and was told that they would not replace the machine and that I needed to have another repairman come out and sit in front of the machine and call technical service. Apparently, the previous repairman didnt follow their instructions. I called and complained twice, I guess Whirlpool thinks that as consumers we have the ability to change work schedules, school schedules, take vacation time, etc. to wait around for the 6th service call, and wait through the 5-hour window that we are given for the repairman to get there. Well we dont. Obviously I have given Whirlpool plenty of opportunities to fix this problem. They havent been able to do so with 3 different companies. There comes a time when you just stop kicking the dead horse. Now is that time. If they cant figure out whats wrong the first time, and not the second time, and not the third time, why do they think the 6th time is the charm? Because I got so upset with them, they referred me to a customer care manager. She called and left me a message, and I have been calling her now for 2 days with no success on her DIRECT line nonetheless. My phone calls are not returned. I wont even go into how many customer service reps told me a different story every time I called. Whirlpools customer service doesnt care about their consumers. They dont care about our complaints. Now I have a $600 piece of junk. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. I will make sure that every person I know that is looking at appliances knows about what a horrible company Whirlpool is. They just put crap in a shiny package!

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

Whirlpool front loader duet washer WF9400SW01 - I bought this washer brand new in 2007. The rubber ring by the door started to grow mold after 2 years, the washer collects water after wash. Water was dripping down to the drum and sit there. If I forget to check and drain it by turning on in the rinse cycle, it wets the entire floor. And it sounds like a freight train after 4 yrs when it spins. My last washer lasted 20 years and it was a whirlpool top loader. Thought I might get that with this one.. but NOT.

Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves the needs of a busy, family kitchen. It is heavily used storing cold foodstuffs to feed our family of four, plus two active grandsons. Being able to re-configure the shelving space enables us to adjust the main compartment accommodating items of different sizes (think a thawing turkey or a 24-can case of soft drinks!) to ensure our most functional usage. The same can be said of its freezer space - it too features built-in slots to reposition shelving for varied size packages and boxes. Convenient in-door water and ice dispensers round out the beneficial features of this attractive appliance.

I purchased a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator for my wifes birthday because my old one was old, ugly, rusted and didnt match. Since she likes to cook, it was her dream in life to have a stainless steel refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. At the time, it was the only kind that would fit into spot. One year ago, first the ice maker leaked causing water to spill onto the floor. Since I am a mechanical whiz I bought the part for about $30 and fixed it myself. We were happy. After two years, the freezer worked, but the refrigerator part went warm. I had a repairman replace the control box for $100. It still didnt work. We called Whirlpool, and they said the warranty expired, but as a courtesy, would charge me $95 for a service call. That was not acceptable. They told my wife that the products were man-made and are prone to mistakes. I replaced the fan myself for $100, but drove a total of two hours to get the part since it was rare. It worked great. For one and a half weeks, we were happy. Then the refrigerator and freezer DIED. Only the light and the fan worked. We bought a old school used GE top freezer, but at least it is stainless steel. We lost $2000 in two years and the people at Whirlpool refuse to do anything about it because it isnt their problem. Worst refrigerator EVER!!! !

I was so excited when my husband bought me this as a gift this past year as we are a family of 6 which means lots of laundry. The first few months I assumed it was operator error trying to learn how the new one worked. Well here we are months later googling why it makes my clothes dirtier coming out than they were going. It leaves black linty looking streaks on all my white clothes, both inside and out and leaves white linty looking streaks on my darks, also both inside and outside. It DOES NOT REMOVE PET HAIR AT ALL! If you purchase one, and have long haired pets that shed, expect to invest in some lint remover. Im on my third type in an attempt to save me time. I will say OxiClean laundry detergent seems to be the only detergent that actually cleaned the clothes. Sadly, stores around here stopped selling. And whatever you do, DO NOT USE LAUNDRY PODS. It DOES NOT DISSOLVE THE HOUSING AND LEAVES SLIMY RESIDUE ALL OVER YOUR CLOTHES. I believe this is due to the fact that despite the setting, it uses little no hot water. Which would be great if it actually cleaned your clothes. I could run my clothes under a faucet with no soap and they would cleaner than this pos. Bottom line. Dont waste your money and if you do keep your expectations very low!

I bought a brand new washer from Home Depot, Whirlpool 4.3 cu High Efficiency Top Load Washer to be exact. It hasnt even been 90 days and it started to make the loud, horrible noise so we had someone come and look at it. Apparently the transmission blew and the oil leaked all over my tile floor. I work full time and I do laundry only on the weekends and there is only two people living in the house so you can imagine we do not use it that much. I went to Home Depot first and since it was past 30 days we had to called Whirlpool direct. The customer service is horrible. I thought since the transmission blew, they would replace the entire machine since that is the brain of it. NOPE! They said to replace the entire machine and give us a new one, it would have to break 3 times. Are you kidding me? They did not offer to reimburse the tile damage or the amount of money I had to spend at the laundromat. Not to mention its been over a week and the guy still has not come out and fixed the transmission. It would not be a big deal to me if the hose broke or something simple, but imagine if you bought a BRAND NEW car and the transmission broke 60 days after you bought it. You would take it back to get a new car. The customer service line could not care less about the issue. I spent over 2 grand in appliances from Whirlpool and I will never buy their product again because of the customer service and the fact they did not want to make the situation right. I just bought the machine brand new for a reason!

We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.

Its just okay. It doesnt clean as well as I expected to regardless of which dishwasher cleaning brand or type I use. It frequently leaves full residue even if the dishes have been pre-soaked. Even though I have it set to see to it, I feel it leaves too much water on the dishes. It doesnt have a rinse and hold setting. This dishwasher doesnt have any extraordinary features. It just has the features you would expect to find on any dishwasher. The size is average but it handles the amount of dishes I have as a one-person household. Its unobtrusive; nothing sticks out, there is no faux metal on it. Those are all features I like. Its not as quiet as it makes itself out to be. On the whole, I feel this is a very average dishwasher.

We purchased our Duet in July 2010. It worked great until two weeks ago when the washer sounded like a 40-year-old washer. The bearing sounds like an extremely high-pitched “wrr”. We can hear it in the back of the house. I looked online to get parts and noticed that you cannot replace the bearing. You must replace the entire rear drum ($358.00). This does not include the labor. I talked with a technician, and they said the whole drum must be removed, not a one-man job, and to take the whole thing apart. Now, theres no price for installation. Lets go low ($200.00). Probably more. I cannot get a price nailed down without a visit. Now add those together ($558.00), I could put almost $600.00 into a washer that this could happen to in another 2 years. Wow.We had a washer that lasted us 15 years without any parts. Is there anything that you can do to help me? This is totally outrageous. Please help. Thank you. This was part of my chat to Whirlpool. Whirlpools response was I understand your problem but cannot help you. It is out of warranty. No help, no discount, nothing. I will and have all my friends never to purchase Whirlpool. This is from a so-called American company. Im very disappointed.

I have been extremely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine!!! I tried to take it back and Lowes would not let me return it because I had had it for 6 months. It doesnt put enough water in the machine to get all of the clothes wet. It doesnt get the clothes clean and it leaves some kind of lint residue all over dark clothes. I am only able to put in 1/4 of the clothes I put in my Maytag washer which I loved, but it wore out. I am also short and it is so deep I have to use a stool to get up on to reach into so i can reach the bottom of the machine. Even though it is a huge tub, I can only put a few pieces of clothes in it to get it to clean the clothes. It is a very poor design and needs to be recalled!

Purchased 9/23/2013 on 5/20/2014 no hot water. Called Whirlpool, unit has a 6 yr warranty. Brian advised me no one close to our area to service. He told me to contact a local plumber, they would pay for parts and $75.00 in labor. I attempted a couple of calls and could not find a plumber that was willing to come out and let us pay just the difference, after parts and $75.00 in labor and them bill Whirlpool for the remainder. They wanted between $225.00 and $300.00 plus parts. Lowes where we purchased the water heater told me to call Whirlpool back and get an RA# and they would be happy to exchange the water heater. I called Whirlpool and they (Leigh) refused but did say they would pay 200.00 in labor plus the cost of parts. The unit was only $231.23, but they would rather pay upwards of $300.00 than just let us get a new one. I asked Leigh if this made sense to her, she said it did. I guess Im just ignorant because it doesnt make sense to me. Whirlpool COULD NOT even find a plumber that would come out to our small town to do repairs under their OUTSTANDING WARRANTY. I have laughed at these people and cried over this whole situation. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product and will let everyone I know and even some I dont know (lol) how horrible this experience has been.

We bought our house in December 2010 and the water heater (fg1f4034t3NOV) just started to give me fits. I had the same pilot light problems everyone else encountered. The person at the 877-251-1679 number gave me a good tip and that may have fixed the problem in the short-term. They told me theres a screen for venting on the bottom of the unit and to use a bottle brush after turning off the unit to clean the screen. I did this yesterday and the pilot light has stayed lit. I called the toll-free number and was told the water heater was out of warranty, but they could send me the part to fix the heater at half-price. I ordered it and they waived ground shipping. I hope to have the situation fixed soon. I’m very pleased with the level of service.

We purchased a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer and within a few short months noticed a mildew-like smell emanating from it. This is DESPITE the fact that we leave the top up the entire time that the machine is not in use, we use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in our loads of laundry in order to kill any mold present and my husband painstakingly hand dries the interior of the drum after each load of laundry. He also puts hydrogen peroxide in the fabric softener dispenser in an effort to kill the mold/mildew. None of this has helped to mitigate the ongoing mildew/mold odor. We have run across other online reviews which suggest that the Cabrio does not fully drain the water in the washer leading to the potential for the development of mold and mildew. This is very upsetting as we paid a lot of money for the Cabrio and had high hopes for it.

I Purchased 9 year warranty, Whirlpool water heater and installed it. Started having problems in the first month. It started giving a water temp too high error code, yet water was barely warm. Called Whirlpool. They had me do a bunch of diagnostic checks. Determined it was a bad control module. Sent me a new one. I installed it. Within a week or two, same problem. Called Whirlpool. This time they sent a Tech out. Everything on water heater tested normal, nothing wrong with any part. The tech finally, found a TSB that indicated that you couldnt have any re-circulating valves or systems connected to the water heater. We had one to keep hot water at the taps. So I removed the re-circulating kit and water heater worked for a few months. Then same problems, it keeps going into error. Error code indicates water temp too high, but water is barely warm to cold. Call whirlpool several times, they send out another control module and heating elements and I replace them. All work temporarily. Finally replace control module again, and it works for several months. Then back to error codes. Not always the same code. Sometimes it is water temp too high, other times it is check one of the heating elements. We have lived with it like that for about 3 years. We get hot water by resetting the water heater several times a day. Well, about 3 months ago it started tripping the circuit breaker in the electrical panel. I called Whirlpool and explained what has been going on since I bought their piece of junk. They will not do anything unless I call and pay for a service tech to come diagnose and repair the problem. They will provide the parts for the repair. I am not a certified appliance repairman, but I do handy man repair work for a living and do appliance repairs quite regularly. I am capable of doing every test that the repairman will do, but Whirlpool insists that I pay to get their defective product repaired. Then if I have problems again in a couple of months, I will have to pay a service tech again. I have friend that had this same water heater. I replaced the control module on his once. I was telling him about my woes and he told me he got fed up with all the problems and ate the cost and got a new water heater, not a Whirlpool. I am going to call Whirlpool one more time and then I am sure I am going to do what my friend did and put the money I would spend on a service tech into a new water heater. It will not be a Whirlfool.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

I purchased this microwave in September 2010. It was installed in a vacation home, so it has actually been used for less than one year. It has now stopped heating food for the fourth time. The previous problems miraculously fixed themselves after flipping the fuse for a few minutes. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I figured maybe I had overheated something. But this time, the problem has not corrected itself. The Whirlpool representative that I spoke to, while very polite and personable, only scheduled a service call that will cost me $89.95 PLUS parts and labor. I asked her if other people had reported this same problem, since it had happened to me several times. She told me NO. I decided to do some research myself (yes, I know; I should have done this BEFORE I spent $578 on a worthless product) and found that many others have had the same problem, and that this is obviously a defect in the design of this unit. Unfortunately, I purchased the entire Whirlpool package because of a special rebate available at the time. Now, I am wondering if my other appliances will begin to break down in the near future. After reading about the experiences of others, I am calling to cancel the service visit. I will be removing the microwave from my kitchen and purchasing a new one. Whirlpool has lost a customer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool product again.

Their Warranty specifies that you have to purchase from them to replacement of an appliances if purchased from them!??? Therefore I would not buy any appliance from them. A refrigerator, washer or dryer, you can take parts from each one and build a whole new appliance, which is very disappointing! Without a doubt, the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. After 15 years, my trusty old Maytag finally quit, so we searched around and ended up purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum 3 years ago. In that time, the hinge on the lid broke, and now it makes a deafening noise when spinning. We called a repairman and he said the bearings were bad and needed to be replaced... Total cost $275 plus $50 for fixing the lid. When we told the repairman that it was only 3 years old he couldnt believe it! We decided against fixing it because from the start it never got the clothes as clean as we were used to, and without the agitator post in the middle, which was a big selling point by the salesperson who sold it to us, the washer continually stops with an Uneven Load message. Large load, small load, it doesnt matter. You cant do a load of any size without the load becoming uneven. We are now searching for a new washer, and although I dont know what well buy, I can guarantee it wont be a Whirlpool.

Our 4-year old Whirlpool microwave suddenly stopped heating. We thought that we forgot to push something so we tried again to start it. This time, it started to spark. We bought a new microwave oven and foolishly bought another over the range Whirlpool microwave. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. The second Whirlpool microwave oven stopped heating as well. F7 came up on the controls which meant that the magnetron failed in this second microwave as well. We called Whirlpool and they said they would only repair it if we paid for the repair which would have cost almost as much as a new microwave and maybe more if other parts were involved. Next, last year, 2012, the pump on our Whirlpool dishwasher broke and once again, it was too expensive to repair it. We had to buy another dishwasher so we bought a Maytag, not knowing that they were made by Whirlpool. I guess we will have to wait until that guarantee is up before that also breaks. Also, last year, our Whirlpool washer pump broke and that cost us a few hundred dollars to repair. From the complaints that I am reading from people about their Whirlpool appliances, it is seems that their products are made to last just until the warranties expire. We should start a class action against Whirlpool. On many sites, I have read numerous complaints about Whirlpool products, the majority about the magnetrons in their microwave ovens breaking during and shortly after guarantees run out. They should not be allowed to get away with this. BBB, Consumer Affairs, where are you? To the many of you who have been burned by Whirlpool, I hope you have contacted the BBB and Consumer Affairs and maybe even the Attorney Generals office in your home state.

Whirlpool Gas Range model GW397LXUB1 is a lemon. We bought our house new in 2008, and it came with Whirlpool Gold package appliances. Within a year, the console buttons quit working for the oven, and we had our warranty fix the console. Within another year, it happened again, and then again last November and now again this week. This range is obviously defective, yet the only solution was to buy for $350, a one-year warranty from Whirlpool. I asked if they had any sort of redress or rebate if we bought another unit, which they reported no. So I looked online for other people who have had similar issues, and counted at least 75. So this company knows they sold defective units, but wont stand behind them without substantial cost. All this simply assures me is that Whirlpool is NOT a stand-up company, and I can assure you that Ill never purchase any product from them again.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - We purchased the (best name brand) from Get It Now and all we ever had was problems. We will fill the washer 1/2 full of clothes and the clothes on top would not even get wet. So we have to do it again, to make sure the rest of the clothes were washed. Many times there was white smudge marks on the clothes, sorta like powder (we use only liquid soap that you recommend). Today I washed a child’s bedspread for the 4th time because the stains would not come out (from a cookie). I had to turn the bedspread twice just to get it wet. I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

We purchased a 4.8 Cu FT High Efficiency Front Load Washer in February of 2016. What a nightmare. Just a few months after having it, we kept getting an E3 error message that would not go away. After 2 weeks of waiting before a tech could come out there replaced a door mechanism said it would be fine. After the next wash same thing, same problem. Could not even open the door to get my laundry out. Again they could not get a tech out for at least 2 weeks so Im stuck with the cost of getting my laundry done elsewhere. This time it was the motherboard. Had to wait a week for that to be shipped out. This was all completed in June 2016. We are now the beginning of September and same problem. Again we are told at least 1-2 weeks to get a tech out. Seriously Whirlpool, we are your customer. I have a family and we need to wash our clothes. We spent $1200 on this machine only to have to take our laundry to a public laundry mat because your machine keeps breaking down. They will not replace the machine even though this is the 3rd time with the same problem. The customer service is horrible. They are not willing to help in any way to get this fixed much sooner for her or give us a new machine. This one is obviously a lemon! My husband purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer pair for Christmas 2010. I have faithfully used the affresh every month, and spent a fortune on it I might add. But for about the last year or so, no matter that the washer has been cleaned at times when the load is finished there is all kinds of black stuff in the tub and on the clothes. The tray under the detergent dispenser is all black and nasty and impossible to clean thoroughly. The black stuff will come through the holes in the tub as well. Water stands in the bleach dispenser at times, fabric softener does not all dispense, the LID is broken and has been but I cannot afford over 200.00 for a LID and about 100.00 to have repairman to put it on. We do not have heavily soiled clothes that would create excessive dirt, never have had and we are now retired so we surely dont now. Bottom line, I thought maybe this would be the last washer I would need but I hate it. It is only 5 years old but I am stuck as I cannot afford a new one now. Factory rep says if it is cleaned as it should be, I should not be having this problem. Not true, it has been cleaned as recommended!!!

Weve been in this house for almost 4 years so the dishwasher (Whirlpool WDT790SAYM) is no older than that, maybe even 2.5 since I think I got it home in my CX-5 which is 2.5 years old. Anyway, never really had a problem with it and we run ours maybe once a day or twice in a row every 3 days. Last night I remember running a load and this morning noticed the dishes were dirty but the inside of the tub looked clean. So I plop another pod in and tried to run it again and sat there and watched it. It filled up with water but then nothing. After 20 minutes I opened the door and steam came out so the heater element was working and there was water at the bottom. I tried various things but nothing. Canceling still works. So either I try to get this fixed, or buy a new one. This wasnt a cheap dishwasher either. My wife balked when I 1st bought it considering she thinks a $300 model is better than most of these $500+ models. Right now I cant argue with her since we just replaced an expensive Samsung washing machine that lasted maybe 5 years. Theres another review of this model on these forums and the person tried to get it repaired many times and it appears maybe the same thing is happening to us. I wont go down that road considering repairs like that exceed the cost of a new dishwasher.

Putting out such a poorly made washer and dryer. Instead of the name Platinum. They should be named Salvage. Never again Whirlpool. Never Again!!!

In less than 4 years the top lid broke at a poorly designed hinge point (+$200). Cabrio washer mercilessly tangles/twists clothes; HE does not totally rinse all detergent from clothing necessitating extra rinse (so much for efficiency); now at 4 year point bearing has gone and machine sounds like a freight train (+$250). Do not recommend this item if this what to look forward to. Called Whirlpool initially about tangling/twisting problem and just got lip service about arranging clothes. Duh, did that already.

The machine cleans clothes okay but constantly gets out of balance and sometimes it take all day to complete an entire cycle. It is very frustrating to rearrange clothes, restart the washer, and then wonder how many times it is going to take. It is especially time consuming to wash a large item like a bedspread, not to mention the waste of water. I can expect to reset at least 3 times. The machine is less than a year old. I think it is a design flaw or else I just have a lemon.

My family purchased a newly built home from a reputable homebuilder on December 21st 2019. On the first week of January 2020, we noticed that our upgraded Whirlpool dishwasher, model #WDT730PAHZ0 was shutting off mid cycle, resulting in dishes remaining dirty. The technician gave us an estimate of nearly $500 for replacement of pump motor assembly. He also informed us that this particular model is well known for having this defect. We are requesting that Whirlpool stand behind their reputation for producing reliable high quality products by replacing our dishwasher.

Purchased new Whirlpool 2-door, side by side refrigerator from Standards store in December 2010 for close to TT$10,000. For 2-3 years, it made a very loud noise. Each time it cut off that disturbed my peace and quiet. I complained, to no avail. In early 2015 or thereabouts I began experiencing severe warming problems in the non-freezer compartment and, since that time, I have suffered large losses from spoilage. The warming coincides with over-freezing (icicles, thick frost formation and whirling, dense cold air) in the freezer compartment and icing up of the vents in the non-freezer section. Moreover, the cool air flows from the top vent only when the freezer door is left open. Since that time Ive only been able to marginally cool the non-freezer section by unplugging for up to an entire day, at least once per week. I believe this is a manufacturing flaw rendering the non-freezer section not fit for its purpose although it manifested itself sometime after purchase. My prior experience with another brand has been totally different (13 years and still working). It is totally frustrating. It is also unsafe since spoilage is sometimes difficult to detect. Here, we have to deal with the seller and that is often a hopeless situation, particularly outside of the warranty, as has been my experience with another household appliance. Ive been advised by independent technicians who reportedly have encountered this problem that the solution lies in boring a hole connecting the two compartments which then enables efficient cooling of the non-freezer compartment. Quite frankly, I would like to have the refrigerator replaced despite the fact that it is outside of the warranty.

My Duet Sport washer drum is damaged due to the poor quality of the bearings. I replaced the Whirlpool Duet Front Loader Washer Bearing & Seal Kit W10253866, W10253856 but because the bearings were damaged the drum is also damaged. When I opened the rear panel of the washer the bearings had literally come apart and bearings fell out. All of the floor and the oil/grease was everywhere. I replaced the bearings but it didnt matter because the drum is warped. Priced the drum and it is nearly $400.00 to replace the assembly. The cost of the drum assembly is about half the cost of a new washer. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again. Just a shame that the cost of a replacement drum is so high. What caused the bearings to just explode and damage the drum. What did I do to cause this? Absolutely nothing. I have since discovered that this is has happened to scores of people with this same washer.

I paid a lot of money for this because I thought it would be high quality and last for quite a while without problems. First of all, you HAVE to open the right door before the left door and then remember to ALWAYS close the left door first and then the right door. If you dont the doors dont close well and your refrigerator gets hot AND THERE IS NO BUZZER OR ALARM TO TELL YOU THE DOORS ARENT CLOSED. After 2 years the freezer repeatedly freezes up and then the refrigerator heats up. My repairman says the controls on this refrigerator are WAY odd and instead of just buying an inexpensive part (defrost timer for example for $50) he need to order the entire control for probably 3 time more. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR TROUBLE. BUY ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHIRLPOOL GOLD.

Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

Bought these Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum combo about three years ago, nothing but junk from the get go! Washer never gets clothes clean, towels always come out smelling mildew and sour no matter what liquid soap you use Tide, Gain, whatever same results. Plus always mold coming from inside tub and yes we use refresh weekly and wash it out on refresh setting. I’m so tired of our towels smelling sour but can’t afford to buy new washer and dryer living on fixed income. If I could these would be in the recycling yard now. A factory authorized technician came out this morning and repaired the washing machine. The bolt had come off of the pulley, which then fell off and burned through the guard, and then burned into the insulating on the bottom. The technician said this happens frequently. All that needs to happen is to have a Loctite bolt holding the pulley rather than a plain bolt which comes loose with the vibration. All Whirlpool had to do was spend a couple cents more for the proper part which would avoid potential fire! I should not have needed to have had my home put at risk, needed this service call or pay all that extra money because of their poor workmanship and design failure. This should be a recall item, and all costs incurred by the consumer should be covered by Whirlpool.

Purchased a Whirlpool water heater (model ND50T122-403) through Lowe’s in Dec 2013. Later discovered online it fraught with breakdown issues. 11 months later ours broke down. Whirlpool Customer Service first told us We dont have any authorized plumbers in your area. Went to Lowe’s the next day - they called on their hotline and we got a call back from Whirlpool that afternoon. Told us part would ship out immediately (arrived next day - no complaints there) and gave us an authorization for 2 plumbers. Both are over 35 miles away and one is out of state. Called once the part arrived... First one said hed try to get to us in the next 4-7 days; second one said We get to warranty work as fill-in work. Well put you on a list and call if were going to be in your area. While we did a bit of web research before buying this water heater, we really should have taken the model number, gone home and googled it before buying. Wish wed gone with a unit from a real plumbing supply place. They were a lot more expensive but you get what you pay for.

After having the ice maker replaced on our 14-month old Whirlpool refrigerator, things seemed to be working fine for a while. However, now there are puddles appearing on the floor in front of the refrigerator. This is a freezer-on-the-bottom model and the ice maker is at the top so I was fairly certain it has nothing to do with the ice maker. Turns out there is something dripping into the back of the freezer and over time it builds up a giant ice sheet on the bottom of the freezer compartment. When the ice sheet gets large enough, the dripping water flows out onto the floor. Now Im going in every couple of weeks and chipping the big ice sheet off the bottom so it will stop leaking for several weeks. When I see puddles in front of our refrigerator I know its time to go chip the ice sheet out again. Seriously, I dont think Ive ever had a brand new, and expensive, appliance perform so badly. NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. I bought Whirlpool top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer Sept 2018, model WTW5000DW, Serial # C83444466. Worst washing machine ever! No matter which water level you choose, it will not dispense enough water to cover the top of the clothes load, therefore the clothes are just moved from side to side with only the bottom layer of clothes getting wet; top clothes stay dry. Not enough water to fully agitate to clean the clothes!Whirlpool serviceman came today (Jan 13, 2020) to recalibrate the settings. VERY NICE MAN BUT THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO SOLVE THE LOW WATER LEVEL. Recalibrating settings did nothing to solve the problem of not enough water.
