All JUNK!! Replaced all new within the last two years. The washer I replaced was twenty + years and was still working fine was just upgrading, big mistake! Washer is sounding like it is going to walk out the door. Replaced dishwasher after twenty years and the new one was leaking within one year and recently got replaced. The new one did not last one year and also is leaking. Now washing dishes by hand. Lastly replaced hot water heater and that is junk too. Has six year warranty after one year pilot light wont stay lit, Whirlpool said would replace the gas control valve for free but I need to pay to install. I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANYMORE PRODUCTS FROM LOWES OR WHIRLPOOL AGAIN!!! HOW CAN A RETAIL COMPANY REPRESENT SO MUCH JUNK?

My dishwasher is just under 3 years old. It has never cleaned well and doesnt dry well at all. I have replaced parts for the top rail 4x. I have 4 other Wp appliances and none are good. The plastic parts in these appliances are beyond cheap and yet they have no problem selling them at a premium. And they also do not stand by their products. Why in the world would you need an extended warranty to get you through 3 years? In other words they make crap and want you to pay them because their stuff is crap... Im done with Whirlpool.

Ice machine went out right after the year warranty was up. Convenient right? We called a hometown tech to come out and look at the water valve. He was unable to locate it, so we called Whirlpool service. After waiting 30 mins, they told us they cant tell us where to locate it for safety reasons, and if we wanted anything done to the refrigerator, we needed to pay a tech to come see it. EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I would NOT recommend whirlpool ANYTHING.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in 2007. They have been the biggest pieces of junk. One year after my purchase, the water pump broke and had to be replaced for $100 and that is with my husband doing it. Then the dryer broke twice. Now, the washer is not spinning. He took it apart and I purchased $80 in parts. It still doesnt spin. He thinks the motor went and it gives a p50 code. This washer does make holes in your clothes. So many of my summer tops were ruined because of this washer. A friend has the same washer and she started getting the holes in the clothes, so that is how we figured it out. Today, I went and picked up a washer at my rental home, a GE that is 10 years old. My clothes never felt cleaner and it runs like a charm. That Cabrio always smelled like mildew because it seemed like all the water didnt drain out of it and it would sit in the bottom. What a shame. Its only 6 years old and I paid $800 for it and for parts. My husband cant wait to put it on the curb on garbage day. My friend warrantied hers and when the guy couldnt fix the problem, they gave her partial money back. At least she got something. These should be recalled and we should get partial money back depending on how old it is. I will tell everyone not buy these. They are the biggest pieces of junk!

We purchased a Whirlpool gas range for $600 in Aug 2015.. On May 2015 the range had an internal board failure (F2E0) and the panel does not control the oven or other features. We found out the part ranged from $350-$400!! Plus service installation! The one year warranty of course ran out but I think this is an outrage to sell an appliance that has such a poor electronic part. I have read a few similar complaints as this is also a Frigidaire model as well.

Whirlpool gold series bottom freezer unit - We have had numerous problems with this refrigerator. We have had several repairs done on it and have still not solved the problem. The defroster does not work right and we have to unplug it so it will unthaw, then the refrigerator gets cold again. The freezer when it is acting up freezes food and ice cream so hard it is inedible. We have just purchased a different refrigerator. This Whirlpool model has also been discontinued from what I can find. No doubt because of a design flaw. Why are they not responsible for this? We bought this appliance in good faith.

We purchased our home in 5/09. Within a month, we had to replace the defective gas valve due to inefficient burning. Our house smelled like gas each time we used the oven. It was under warranty at that time so Whirlpool replaced it. It is now 5/12 and out of warranty. We called a local independent technician who informed us the oven wouldnt turn on due to another issue with the gas valve, the same one that had been replaced shortly after we moved in. He went to his local supplier to purchase the gas valve to be informed that they couldnt seem to keep this particular gas valve in stock, simply because its a reoccurring known issue and Whirlpool needed to do something about it. So, this technician encouraged me to call Whirlpool. I called the 1-800 number, spoke to 3 different people and was constantly informed that since it was out of warranty they would do absolutely nothing! Again, I was informed that this gas valve is a reoccurring known problem with Whirlpool so perhaps they should consider looking into this issue. The last person I spoke to was a bit snide and just kept saying It is past your warranty, we will do absolutely nothing to help you, and sorry you are having that problem. We are not aware of this reoccurring gas valve issue. Have a good day!” Whirlpool, do you understand your reputation is at risk when you dont want to stand behind your parts that should work after 3 years! Should a brand new part not work properly after a month? Should another service call have to be made after 3 years? Sounds like a quality issue, something Whirlpool needs to investigate especially after a local supplier states they sell this particular gas valve all the time due to a reoccurring issue.

I purchased 5 Whirlpool appliances when I remodelled my kitchen and am extremely disappointed with the quality and ability of them. The self-cleaning range (this phrase is a joke) has proven to be useless. I followed the cleaning direction according to the manufacturers direction even using the distilled water as indicated. The AquaLift self-clean did not clean the oven at all. It looks like I never turned the self-clean on. I gave up a great working GE self-cleaning oven that actually did clean itself. If I could afford to change this product for another brand I would do it in a heartbeat.

Never ever plan to buy a Whirlpool product. I took the washing machine in December 2008. System was not got at first time also. I called service center, and he came and asked to put this and that. Again, it got a problem. This time, he told me to change powder. I was shocked how a powder became a problem for its failure in washing clothes. Next, he told me to put a stand. After a long interval of 6 to 7 months, I got fed up and called him again. He told me it was not in the warranty. Its the worst service. Zero percent satisfaction Hats off to Whirlpool service. Please, friends, never buy cheap Whirlpool products.

My Whirlpool dishwasher is only 2.5 years old. The first 1.5 years we were not full time in the house, so the dishwasher has not been used much. The touch pad went bad already and it was $450 to fix. Whirlpool sent me an email after I vented and it was a cookie cutter reply. They dont care that the appliance was manufactured with a faulty pad. We never buy service agreements because we feel an expensive item like this should last the term of service agreement if made correctly. No more Whirlpool purchases for us!

So far I have been asked... have you been heating the water before you start the cycle?, my favorite... Is this a whirlpool dishwasher. So I find out today that it will take another visit from a company that hasnt been able to fix it, plus a call to the tech line to make sure they havent missed anything. Refrigerator stopped cooling... Paid $200 to have it diagnosed... Cost more than a new refrigerator to get fixed...$14,000. Refrigerator was 7 years old, energy star. How can it be energy efficient if it was made to last only seven years? How much energy is wasted making new ones to replace the broken ones, that cost too much to fix. Energy star. What a scam.

Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.

I own an FG flame lock water heater and have been having the same problems with the pilot light not staying lit. This is very frustrating! I have searched many websites and am not able to find a replacement thermocouple for the stupid thing. Also, I have been told that the parts for the type of water heater that I own is no longer available. I tried to call the Whirlpool number a handful of times, but unfortunately, I was on hold the entire time and could not speak with a rep. I guess that explains all of the complaints I have read on here. I would like to be contacted or have help from someone regarding this matter! I would not recommend this product to anyone and I am very dissatisfied!

Bought this from Lowes in 2010 with the 12 yr extended warranty. Have not been able to keep it lit. Takes 4-10 days for repairman just to LOOK AT IT and then he usually has to order a new control valve, taking another 2-4 days (have had the control valve replace 3xs). This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! So how do those LOWES/WHIRLPOOL people sleep at night????

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

We purchased a stackable electric washer/dryer unit and received in October. Had issues from the start. Called Whirlpool in Dec 2018 and they sent out their contracted service company. Told us they were ordering parts. Never heard from anyone. Called service contractor and they said never received parts. Called January. WP told us that because it was a new model, they didnt have the parts. We asked them to replace the unit. WP called us and said they would replace the unit and it would arrive in late January. NO CALL. Called 2/22 and said, no similar units available. Ask them to upgrade me if there were units available. Said they would and the inventory of the upgraded unit was promising. Would get a call from delivery company for a 3/6 delivery and install. 3/2: Called because hadnt heard from anyone and called WP. Today Katrina ID # ** tells me they are making the new upgraded unit with an anticipated delivery of MID MARCH. I just about flipped my lid. I asked for a supervisor of which she said she was a SR support specialist. I asked that this be escalated and I get a call regarding status. She advised that she would inquire and call me back. Likely shouldnt hold my breath or try to call back because you are on hold for up to 1-2 hours. Just to clarify, have never had an issue with Whirlpool. Every appliance we have in our home is Whirlpool. I just cant believe this experience. I am going to the media on my next stop.

Both are Whirlpool Commercial quality. I got them free from my Co-Op. They didnt cost me anything. They have been here for years - at least 18 years. They have performed flawlessly. I would look for anything discounted. I do not have a problem buying scratch and dent items or last years models. I am not big into brand names and their claims. My sister has gone thru several Maytag appliances in just a few short years. I will not buy any front loading washer, its top load only for me. The dryer has to be electric because we do not have gas in my Co-Op complex. I have been lucky to have only two washer and dryer combos since I was a kid. My family bought a Kenmore washer dryer combo in the 70s that lasted maintenance free into the 90s when I got the Whirlpool set that I have now. I only need the basics side by side set ups. Even though I live alone I do a lot of laundry. Since I have had these commercial grade machines I am more leaning toward another set of commercial grade machines. They seem to be able to take more abuse/over loading than the fancy expensive machines.

Purchased this French door fridge with the freezer on the bottom in September 2017. Started having problems shortly after with the freezer not auto defrosting/ice damming on the evaporator unit in the freezer unit, which caused the fridge to warm up and food to spoil. Service came out several times and ultimately replaced the Jazz board 3 times, 2 harnesses in freezer, 1 Heater and the evaporator fan motor, with the same problem happening after a few weeks. Requested a replacement after the 3rd visit, but Whirlpool refused to back up their product. Sent service a few more times to no avail. Demanded a replacement once again. They sent a new service company out 15 months after our original purchase and they FINALLY deemed it non-repairable and are FINALLY going to replace it (turned out to be a broken wire inside the walls of the fridge, likely was like that upon delivery). So now we will have been put out for a total of 16 months for a fridge that cost >$1000. If Im spending that on an appliance I expect it to work properly or else be fixed/replaced in a TIMELY fashion. And the best part: they refuse to compensate us for any of the food that was lost due to a faulty product and very poor customer service! That was a lot of money lost because of their incompetence. If they had just replaced the broken appliance in the first place I would have been satisfied. But since they refused to do anything beneficial to remedy the situation, I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. And add in the inconvenience of scheduling a time to be home for multiple visits to greet the repairman. Oh yeah, plus our time wasted defrosting our frost-free fridge with a blow dryer to buy us time until it got repaired. Buyer beware!

I quickly pull the stove out and unplugged the stove. I then remove the back panel and found the right side of the control panel was burned. Had I not pulled the plug, a fire would have started. Our experience in calling Whirlpool for service is that it is very expensive and time consuming. Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

I bought a Cabrio set in June 2007. Within two years, I had to have the barrings replaced ($800 job). Now, its two years later and Im getting a F50 code. The repairman put in a new part, still got the same code and left. I am out $970. I am a disabled vet/single parent and now I have to buy a new washer. Who is going to start the class action suit against Whirlpool?

Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.

In the last two years, the inner glass door of the oven has exploded. The last time was Tuesday, 14th January. The oven door was ajar because we had just finished cooking dinner. The noise was deafening but the worst thing about it was the large pieces of glass thrown all over the kitchen. Most of which were large enough and sharp enough to kill a child and seriously wound an adult. I phoned Whirlpool to report this. The operative I spoke to was very polite but told me these things happen and I could have banged it a while ago and left a weak spot! She also said a Supervisor or similar person would telephone me that day. It is now Saturday 18th January and NO phone call. MY concern is there is no mention of this being a possible problem in their literature and their obvious lack of concern under a Health and Safety situation. Not to mention the cost of replacement door glass.

Eleven months after purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator for our office lunch room it stopped working. While the refrigerator was still under warranty, I called Whirlpool for a service call. I was informed that the warranty is voided because the unit is located at a business and not a residential property. I explained to the customer service agent that there is no mention of this policy until after the appliance is purchased. After a considerable amount of time on the phone speaking with several supervisors, I was connected to a Resolution Specialist. She informed me that this policy is available online for consumers to view prior to purchasing Whirlpool appliances and it is the consumers Due Diligence to research warranty policies before purchasing. Consumers beware! Warranties are voided on all Whirlpool appliances that are located at a business address.

Bought the Whirlpool Duet washing machine. It lasted around eight years. In the meantime I was replacing the rubber door seal cleaning out the pump constantly. The plastic pieces inside the drum all broke. Every few months I would get an error code. And During spin cycle it would literally shake my entire house. The problem with all the front loaders is the construction of the drum and the drum bracket. They are made of dissimilar materials. (Stainless and zinc) When you add soap to the water then the bracket becomes an anode and the drum becomes a cathode, which creates electrolysis which corrodes the bracket. When the bracket breaks your machine is totaled. I’m finished with every manufacture except Speed Queen. I bought a Top loader Speed Queen and I love it, it is built like a tank.

I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. I was shocked that it was actually Made in America. I highly recommend it and I hope they keep making this reliable machine that gets the clothes clean. Awesome machine without the bells and whistles that I dont expect to breakdown. Way to go Whirlpool!

The oven vent on the cooktop left brown marks on the stainless facade attic top by the clock. Ive read some have melted this area. Then after 2 years, the entire front glass door and handle fell off when I opened it. It not only fell, but the cheap plastic lip that holds the door on cracked so it is impossible to get back on. Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.

I am also disappointed with this manufacturer. I recently purchased an over-the-range microwave oven model KHMS2056S. Within 45 days of use, it quit heating. I initially established a service call through Kitchenaids web site, with the first available weekend appointment approximately 2 weeks away. When the contracted service represented arrived (A&E), he asked me for a cup of water and placed it in the microwave, along with a temperature meter. After running the microwave for 45 seconds, he informed me that microwave was not heating. This was the extent of his troubleshooting, only to confirm what I had already reported in my initial service appointment description. The next step was to order parts and wait another 10-20 days for a new service appointment. When I challenged the technician on this, he stated that they were required to verify the problem and check the model/serial number of the appliance. But these were also provided through the automated service appointment system. Thanks to Lowes who allowed me to return the item, even though the purchase date was outside the 30-day window. It seemed obvious to me this warranty contractor was simply creating multiple service calls to inflate the repair costs. And ultimately the consumer pays this.

I purchased Whirlpool washer in 12/2011. Immediately, I noticed the noise and called service. It was a whistling noise. The clerk told me nothing was in the manual and it would cost $65 to have a tech come out. He advised me to wait until it was louder and more consistent. I called again when it was. Gear case was replaced on 5/2/2012 five months after purchasing the machine. I called Whirlpool again in 5/2013 - same problem. I was told the diagnostic call would be $95, labor which is extended for a major job is $85 and the part would be $290. It would cost $470 to repair as the gear case was guaranteed for only three months. This machine is a lemon since the gear case is now shot again prior to the machine being 1-1/2 yrs. old. I called Whirlpool and spoke to Amy (Esc. Sup.) who advised they would replace the part only. The appointment was scheduled; the tech came, did diagnostics reading a manual and said the gear case is shot. I inquired, Well, you are going to fix it today right? The reply was, Oh no, it has to be ordered and its a two-man job. When I arranged for this appointment, this was clearly explained and what I was expecting, two men and the part to be replaced with them. Now its a five-day wait to get the part and then a scheduling issue when they could do it. This machine is a lemon and Id like to have the machine replaced or my money refunded. This is a runaround, scheduling the appointment and having someone show up with the manual and having no parts and not knowing that it was the part which broke again from previously being replaced.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is less than five years old. First repair was replacement of control panel (under warranty). Second, third and fourth attempts to fix the out-of-balance problem which continually caused the machine to shut down altogether (even a small load) left my repairman totally frustrated after replacing most of the parts, finally telling me it just cant be fixed! What? I paid over $1,000 for this machine in Oct. 2007 and expected it to last many, many years. My mother-in-law has a washing machine she bought used in 1979 and it is still working beautifully. Ive read the 14 pages of complaints on the Consumer Affairs website and agree with Diana in Kissimmee, Fl - I am sick to my stomach not only for Whirlpool not recalling the Cabrio, but for Lowes and Sears and any other supposedly family-friendly business for continuing to sell it! We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputatio
We purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer due to the companys past reputation and our own past experience with Whirlpool appliances fully expecting to receive great performance and durability. We have had the pair just about 2 years and the washer started experiencing problems during the spin cycle. The unit would get out of balance easily and then it would stop without spinning, leaving the clothes very wet. Well, as our past experience had indicated to us the washer is usually much more reliable than the dryer, or thats the way it had been for us. So we only purchased the extended warranty on the dryer. Not being covered on the washer we located a local technician and he promptly diagnosed the problem as the transmission failed causing the noisy bearing and the failure of the unit to spin properly. Our tech quickly repaired the unit but this failure disappointed me to the point of contacting Whirlpool. Thats where I came upon this site and saw the multitude of complainers with the same type of problems and some that are worse than ours. Our purpose in this review is to add to the 1100 or more reviews that report the same kind of issues. We are now in the same mindset as the 1100. Will we ever buy another Whirlpool? Probably not, especially since it doesnt look like Whirlpool wants to stand with their customers to make it right. Customer support is just as important to us as the reliability we seek. I would much rather spend a bit more in the price than replace or repair the unit after the purchase. A little economics lesson for our friends at Whirlpool is that if you abandon your 1100 customers you will save about $440,000.00, but those 1100 will tell everyone they know of their problems with that product and as a result many thousands will never purchase a Whirlpool. So if we all influence 5 of our friends not to buy, then 1100 X 5 = 5500 people X an average price of $800 which equals about 4.4 million dollars of lost sales. Seems like a no brainer to want to stand behind your customers. We dont believe that any washing machine on the market should fail after a few months to 2 years. These products should be built to last many years and the maker of these products should have that goal.

The technician arrived while I am not at the house, however I talked to him before he started the work on my refrigerator and asked him kindly if he can call me after founding the issue, and he assured me that he will. No call and when I arrived home I found that he told the attendant that the refrigerator is not working and he has to report to the office. REALLY! We know that! Anyway I called Active Appliance and the customer services rep. told me that she could not answer with the diagnose until she speak with the technician and that will be Monday February 9th, I asked if I could speak with a manager, and her reply was Our managers do not talk to the customers. I had to hang up and call Whirlpool customer services and spoke with a nice gentleman, that he was not happy with Active Appliance INC. services. He placed me on hold and called them and within 3 minute he got back with the news, what was wrong with the refrigerator, electric computer panel burned out and then the fan continue to work with no stop, so it burned as well. He assured me that the services will be done no later than Tuesday February, 10th.While on the phone I got a call from active appliance and this time she wanted to know if I am warranted. I told her that I have Whirlpool on the other line and they assured me that I am. She said that it does not matter and she has to get something in writing. I placed her on hold and talked with Whirlpool and he assured me that he will contact them and email me a confirmation, which he did. By Tuesday February 10th, no call no follow up. I called Active appliance and they stated that it would take up to 14 working days for a part to arrive. I called Whirlpool and spoke with a customer services manager, and she got on the phone and told me that they are going to do their best and get back with me. Today February 16th I got a call to cancel a work service order due to technician calling sick and reschedule for February 25th Wednesday, I told her that they did not call to schedule the service first place, her answer was Never mind, I am calling to cancel anyway. Would you like to take this appointment or NOT? I asked her kindly to reevaluate their service procedures and the way they handle their customer, and I told her that I bought my refrigerator from Whirlpool and they are the company in charge of their product and I do not wish to continue this dialog with Active Appliance!I called Whirlpool and the customer service gentleman was helping me and we got disconnected, however when I called back they were closed for the day, however the customer service has my phone number but I got no phone call!!!! My 2 year Jennaire (made by Whirlpool) broke down on 12/14/11. Repairman came out on 12/19. He said that the compressor was not working and ordered another and he came out again on 12/22. He said that it could not be fixed (internal leak or something). An aside to this story was that a tank of compressed oil blew and damaged my hallway and kitchen walls and floors and 2 rugs. That was being handled by the repairmans insurance company. We called Whirlpool and they said that they we could pick out a new refrigerator priced at no more than $2399 even though we paid $2799 for the Jennaire and would have to pay the difference for a model costing more. We went with a Maytag (Whirlpool product) that listed for $2899 but was available at 2 local stores for $2050 and $2100 but I had to give Whirlpool anther $500 because they use the MRP.They finally delivered it on 1/5/12 but would not leave it because no one disconnected the water line to the appliance and they would not touch it. It took me 20 seconds to do it and if they would have told me so it would have been done on the 5th. Rescheduled delivery for 1/8/12 and the unit was delivered damaged (large dent in front) and they would not temporarily leave it until a replacement came.I called Whirlpool again and asked them to just call a local Home Depot or anyone in my area (all had the unit in stock) to deliver one but they told me that it must come from the warehouse in Michigan (I live in PA) and that it would be yet another 5 to 10 business days to receive it. So, I am paying $700 more for a unit that I could have bought and had delivered before Christmas not to mention the inconvenience of no unit for a month. Not to mention the damage to my home, $200+ dollars in thrown away food, time to shop for new unit, time for 2 repairman appointments and time for the 2 deliveries thus far and countless phone calls to Whirlpool to get the new unit.Today is 1/10/12, so I guess Ill have by month end if there are no other problems, you would think that they would try to expedite this just because its been so long or give us a substantial credit for all the trouble. Never again Whirlpool.

Installed in May 2007, paid $674 for GU2455XTSS1 Whirlpool Dishwasher. It required service in March 2009 for $158 It became noisy in Oct 2011, so I placed a service call for $136. It was very noisy in Jan 2012. Again, I placed service call for an additional $93 that Whirlpool has not reimbursed. I must now replace the motor quoted at $403. The motor has a 90-day warranty. The 4.5 year old dishwasher must now be replaced. Whirlpool has not responded to email and to registered letter requesting a cost-effective solution to repair dishwasher that recognizes that reasonable life of the unit should be 10+ years and not 4.5 years.

This washer (Cabrio 6th Sense Washer) is less than 4 years old and now needs $500.00 worth of repair. You have to replace the tub in order to replace the bearings. If your washer starts to make noises during the spin cycle, you are in for a big repair bill. I still havent decided if I am going to repair it or junk it. The towels always smell sour even if you wash them twice.

After the pilot light on my water heater would no longer stay lit, I contacted the Whirlpool technical support number listed on the unit only to be told my unit was still under warranty, but I would be responsible to pay a $65 diagnostic fee and any labor associated with a repair. The technician came and said my ventilation system was the problem and didnt even touch the unit. He then sent a report to Whirlpool that the unit was flooded which voided my warranty. He did not submit photos to substantiate his water damage claim and now Im being told the unit is unsafe and must be replaced at my expense. This all sounds like collusion to not honor the warranty! I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

Contacted Whirlpool - unit (Cabrio washer 7600xt) is out of 12-mo warranty. Spoke with manager, Tracy **. She said they would not help - out of warranty. Called local parts/service center - ea. hinge is $42 plus shipping and labor to install. Obviously this is a defective design. The lid is too heavy. I was having a difficult time deciding to spend 150-200 dollars every 2-3 years for hinges on a $700 washer and then I read all the other complaints about Whirlpool washers. I will sell it for scrap and buy a better brand.

The dryer lint screen is located at the door base. This is placed incorrectly, in that if you have any lint on screen it attaches to wet clothes. The screen should be located at top of dryer for a less messy clean up process and away from your clothing.

We purchased our Cabrio washer and dryer in 2012. In 2014 we had to replace the rollers in the dryer. Since then it makes a loud clunking sound and it has to go through at least 2 or 3 dry cycles to dry the clothes, sometimes more. The washer lid lock doesnt work very well anymore. Sometimes it wont lock so I cant get the clothes washed. It takes forever to get it to work. Ill never buy Whirlpool again.

We replaced our kitchen appliances and went with Whirlpool. The oven and Refrigerator havent had any issues yet but the dishwasher has been crap since it was installed. While it looks 10 times better than my old dirty dishwasher it replaced, its main function of washing dishes is 1/4 the of the quality after running two or three times. Not to mention the average cycle time is 4-8 hrs. Dishwashers by design, should be convenient and save time. Whirlpool managed to remove both of those traits from this Dishwasher and now their warranty service said they can send out a technician but I will have to pay for it if it’s not covered under warranty!

I’ve been struggling with this new washer since I bought it a year ago. It’s sold as a water saver machine, but it continually leaves white residue and lint on my dark clothes that will only come off if rewashed with no soap and no other clothes. The technician who came out ran a cleaner through the machine and that was it. It’s recommended that the cleaner be used once a month, but it doesn’t seem to do any good. Per the appliance dealer I’ve reduced the amount of detergent I use to a tablespoon. I still get the residue. Definitely not a water saver and a crummy washing machine. Don’t buy Whirlpool!

It does not clean as well as I would like. I have to wash the dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. It is also much too noisy for my liking. It has the pot wash and the dish wash. It has several types of cycles, long - short and it has a drying mode. My next dishwasher will be bigger so I do not have to run it every day. My next will be stainless. This particular dishwasher is nothing special but I have my eye on one with the buttons in the top of the door so nothing is visible on the surface. My dishwasher is getting older and I will replace it soon.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW2: I am 74-1/2 years old and I hav
Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW2: I am 74-1/2 years old and I have been doing laundry for more than 50 years. We have always purchased washers of a brand made by Whirlpool. Until now Ive had nothing but the highest of praise. Two months ago, our washer stopped working and we had to shop for another. After looking at all types and brands of washers, we found out that the only type without an agitator was available. With that choice, we ended up buying the model stated above. I literally hate the way these washers pretend to wash clothes! I apply the detergent properly, place the clothes perfectly around the outer part of the tub, etc., and because there is not enough water that goes into the tub for the clothes to wash even one pair of socks, let alone a full load of clothes, I use the 2nd rinse trying to help matters although it doesnt. I dont care about the amount of the water I use to have clean clothes! The clothes sit in there just rubbing against one another, and then when they are finished, the clothes are so tangled you can hardly get them out of washer and into the dryer! Perhaps the designers of all these current washers think they are saving water, but I can tell you that sometimes I will wash mine twice as I know that I do not feel they are clean! (And I am a clean person and the clothes are not real dirty!) I am so unhappy with the decision of purchasing this horrible excuse for a washer that I could shoot myself. I will discourage every person I know from buying one. I will tell them to have their old washer repaired as many times as possible so they will have clean clothes! It isnt just Whirlpool, but all the manufacturers who have chosen to make this horrible decision for us, housewives, and anyone else who does the laundry where they live. I used to enjoy doing my laundry, but now it is a nightmare. I will tell my friends who are the same age as I am that if they can still find a machine with an agitator to buy 1 or two of them so they wont have to deal with this type of problem for the rest of their lives. I realize that now I have to eat this washer since I have purchased it, but I can tell you one thing; if I could sell it for near the price I paid for it, I would do it in a heartbeat! Realizing whoever reads this; it wont matter one bit and probably will never reach the hands of the ones who couldn’t care less or do something about it, but at least I have made an attempt to help others in the future.

We bought a Cabrio washer & dryer September 2010 for a room addition that wasnt completed yet. We didnt get moved in until the first of November. So the washer wasnt used until then. In January 2011 (15 months later) it stopped spinning so clothes were dripping wet. We called Whirlpool and were told that they would be happy to set us up for a service agreement for $322 for one year. We declined since we bought the washer for a little over $500. When we had a local Whirlpool service man come out and he determined that it was the control board which would cost $265 (Whirlpool only warrants parts 90 days). I sent an email to Whirlpool and was told too bad, so sad. We called their customer care line (that is really not the term for that phone center) and asked to talk to a supervisor, who essentially told me the same thing. Whirlpool is making equipment that is extremely poor quality. There is no incentive for them to produce a better quality product as they make money on the extended warranties that are necessary, or if you dont buy an extended warranty they charge an extraordinary huge price for their parts, which they dont warranty. We will never purchase anything made by Whirlpool. I am not sure where this useless piece of junk that I have will end up but I intend to let everyone I know what a terrible company Whirlpool is to deal with.

I purchased a new home in 2005 and equipped the kitchen with Whirlpool appliances. Every single appliance has broken at least once. The refrigerator ice-maker has been repaired once and replaced twice. Some of the control panel buttons on the dishwasher work some of the time. Other times we have to strike the panel to make them work. Weve had to replace the handle on the microwave door twice at nearly $50 a pop. And the motherboard on the dual-oven has been replaced once. Purchased on 04-26, professionally installed on 04-29 into a clean, large, well-ventilated area within the garage. Has turned itself off every day since then. Flashes code 10, screen is dirty... Pull the burner and the screen is clean. Called Whirlpool. They tell me to clean it again, so I do. This goes on for weeks... I can now pull the screen and clean it with my eyes closed. I get up a half hour early every morning to complete my water heater re-lighting procedure so my family can take a warm shower!!! Whirlpool gives me a phone number to a repair company. They tell me the repair person will have parts on the truck. I wait four days, guy comes out and says, You need a control valve.... did they send it to you? So I had to call Whirlpool back and order the valve... three more days... Very next day after repair, the thing shuts itself off again! I call Whirlpool and they try and push me off to the repair company, saying they are now responsible for the repair, but in the same sentence the tech says the heater needs a burner assembly. Okay, so you know it needs a burner assembly, but you ask me to contact the repair company to come out and fix it knowing they DO NOT have the parts on the truck? Only after I change my tone and raise my voice does she offer to send the part ahead of the repair appointment! In my opinion, Whirlpool has reached the top of a list shared by other mega companies like Bank of America and Time Warner Cable... Too bad the accolade is for the worst product and customer service. DO NOT BUY Whirlpool.

I have called Whirlpool six times to request a replacement for a broken deli drawer in my refrigerator. I was told to throw everything away from the unit, since the whole assembly would come complete in the mail. First call: Ordered the replacement: what came was a glass shelf without a drawer or gliders and hardware. Second call: requested the drawer and remaining parts. Third call: only received the plastic drawer without any means of installing it. Fourth call: received only one side glider, again without hardware to install. Fifth call: requested a supervisor (Kimberly) who took the order for the remaining glider and all hardware. Received second glider and (1) screw when two are needed.Sixth call: asked rep Brigitte for a supervisor and was not connected. Given the run around and told that the rep spoke with a supervisor for me and would send out a repairman to assemble the unit. I just need the missing screw. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get what I need from Whirlpool and do not have time to wait for a service repairman to come out. I just cannot fathom how that many calls - with me being patient and calm - cannot produce the required items. Horrible.

Whirlpool Cabrio - 6 Big Problems: I dont write bad reviews on anything but in this case, I feel I have to warn potential buyers. Ive owned this washer for more than 4 years. Here are the problems: 1) This washer TEARS HOLES in my towels; 2) It SHREDS some clothes; 3) Loads are UNBALANCED every time I use it, regardless of load type or size; 4) Very LOUD when running. My neighbors can hear it and they are 150 feet behind us. It sounds like someone is pounding on the walls of my house. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I havent seen it, but I believe it might actually be jumping off the floor; 5) Its NOT High Capacity as advertised. Sure, the drum is big, but you cant put much more than a tiny load in it. If you try a larger load, the clothes dont get cleaned; and 6) Whirlpool wont do a darn thing about it. They dont care about the buyer or their own reputation. Our family grew and I thought we needed a larger washer. I foolishly replaced a ten-year old, $300 standard top-loading GE washer that never had a problem, with this expensive **. The GE had a drum that was about 1/2 the size and it washed MORE clothes! The GE never damaged any clothes and it wasnt ridiculously loud like this one. I regret ever buying this expensive washer and I will never again buy a Whirlpool product.

My Whirlpool washer would start up but would not add any water. It sat there doing absolutely nothing. Then it showed a code on the screen. It said to disconnect the power for 1 minute and plug it back in, which I did. I repeated that process several times. Still nothing. It also said to call Whirlpool, which I did. They wanted the Model # WFW97HEXLO and Serial #, I gave it to the gal on the phone at Whirlpool. I was told it would be a week before they could get someone out there to take a look at it. Really!! I work 80 hours a week and live in the country. I dont have a week. When I asked where the service man was coming from, he was coming from another town. I asked if there was someone closer. She gave me another appliance stores phone number. They showed up 2 business days later, looked at my washer, verified the code along with the Model and Serial #s, telling me it was the control panel. I gave that information to them on a Friday, they showed up on a Tuesday. They knew what that code was and what it meant for that make and model washer, but there just had to be a service call in there. The part was ordered on that Tuesday... here it is the following Saturday and the part still isnt here. I do not understand what takes Whirlpool so long to ship the part. Do they not care that in this hustle bustle life we live in, we dont have time to wait for a part that may or may not show up. Ship it overnight. That is an option. Making the parts accessible to the service people in a timely manner would make great customer-service. Better yet, how about going back to the old-style washers. This high-efficiency non-sense is highly expensive.
