I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! If I could I would rate this fridge and Whirlpool’s repair and customer service a NEGATIVE 100. My wife and myself purchased this refrigerator on 6/2/19. On 6/16/19 we noticed that it was not cooling as should, we called in to set up a repair service call only to find out that we had to wait until 6/20/19 to have a service tech come out to look at the refrigerator. When the service person came out to look at it he stated that it needed a sensor??? And that they would have to wait until the evaporator thawed out to replace the sensor. We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling. Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. If I could I would return this defective unit and buy a different brand of refrigerator. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! I will make sure that I let everyone I know that I would never recommend a Whirlpool product!!

We purchased our unit (Microwave Hood Combination #WMH53520AH-1) in Fall of 2013 and within a year we noticed there were occasionally problems with the sensors; occasionally when you would open the door the lights would flicker and even rarer still, they wouldnt turn on at all. Id close and re-open the door several times to try to get it to register, because if it doesnt you are unable to heat anything in it. The sensor issue increased with the passage of time, but because it was outside of the 1 year warranty, Whirlpool refused to do anything about it, instead advising that I pay $70-140 for a service professional to come out and inspect it. The biggest problem with the sensor issue in this unit is that normally, if you open the door mid-heating cycle, the microwave will automatically turn off but once I opened the door AND IT CONTINUED TO EMIT MICROWAVES - the cycle stayed on!!!Needless to say, on the occasion that the microwave is actually working and we are heating something up in it, we NEVER open the door mid cycle and instead hit the cancel button, which blessedly works. You would think Whirlpool would care about their reputation for making high-quality electrical products. A flaw in the construction or design of a product can appear if quality of materials is poor and the problem can be exacerbated over time. Which is why I assume the warranty is only for one year. High Quality Products and Good Customer Service are such rare things these days. For our next microwave (which I imagine well need soon) I think well forego Whirlpool and go with a different company.

My ice maker and freezer on my Whirlpool WRF989SDAM00 refrigerator stopped working 3 days out of warranty. Repairs to run around $800. Is Whirlpool making disposable appliances? Theres a reason foreign appliances and electronics are bought in record numbers. Whirlpool is a disappointing Made in America product.

Purchased in January of 2014: Brand new Whirlpool WOS51EC7AS01 model oven - interior bottom metal has buckled causing the enamel to crack and break off from oven bottom. I registered all my new appliances immediately for warranty. When this happened after the fourth or fifth time baking in the oven, I called Whirlpool to get a service person to look at it. First person Whirlpool scheduled to come out refused to even come out, without looking at my oven. He said he knew we did something wrong? They immediately set up a second service person, after two weeks waiting for an answer; I had to call him (twice). He said that his report and pictures sent into Whirlpool shows normal use and there is nothing wrong with our oven? So, Whirlpool will do nothing to repair the oven? We just spent almost $4,000.00 on all new Whirlpool appliances, and this is how we get treated? WOW! Never again will I ever purchase a Whirlpool product. The enamel is gone in spots from our oven floor. How long do they think that will last with no protective coating on the oven? Terrible customer service.

We purchased Whirlpool dishwasher Model #GU3200XTXB Nov. 2011. Two weeks later they replaced the soap/rinse aid dispenser because the rinse aid was running out the bottom of the dispenser. Feb. 2012 they replaced the handle which was loose. July 2012 the panel lights werent working and that was replaced. Feb. 2014 the soap dispenser door would not open, so the dispenser was replaced again. March 2014 the soap door would not open again so the computer board was replaced & the door did open. However, it stopped again 3 days later. April 2014 the dispenser and the board were both replaced. The rinse aid dispenser did not dispense leaving the inside with moisture on everything. So yesterday the dispenser was again replaced but now the rinse aid is running out the bottom of the dispenser. Thank goodness we purchased an extended warranty for $169 or we would have spent more than $1,000 on repairs!! The warranty company refuses to acknowledge that their lemon law should apply. There are 2 of us and we use it 2/3 times weekly.

I have had 6 months of absolute HELL working with Whirlpool. I mistakenly purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator from Home Depot and the moment I did Home Depot were hands off. Sadly my brand new refrigerator didnt work from the moment it arrived. The ice machine was dripping inside from the back making all the ice freeze together and created an ice sheet below the ice box that can be taken out. There also was water dripping out of the ice output. The water output wasnt working and the water was literally trickling out when you pushed for water.SO Whirlpool took 6 weeks to send their 1st technician from L.A.R Services out of Boston and the guy turned up and said it was due to needing a new ice tray/machine and our sink having an old filter. There was NO filter on the sink! And he then ordered an ice machine that arrived at their office in 4 weeks but they took 3 weeks to try to deliver it. When they finally came out they called to say they had to turn around because the road was blocked- there are 3 ways to get to our home....so I had to chase for 2 more weeks to get them to come back out. When they arrived they handed me the ice tray outside and drove off!!!SO WE TRIED AGAIN and this time had Home Depot call Whirlpool to get a service person in to fix it. We had to wait another 5 weeks and when he finally came he claimed our issue was due to the fridge not being perfectly level. Well, guess what, its now level and the ice is still freezing into giant blocks, some weird plastic strap is hanging inside the ice box and the water is still trickling out.Ive called the service guy 3 times and he is yet to call back and right now Im on hold with Whirlpool (its been 14 mins so far). NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything WHIRLPOOL and I will be sharing this experience in every consumer space possible so no one has to go through what we have. Our new fridge is still broken after 6 months!! All I want is my GE fridge again and I should have a followed the reviews.

Whirlpool ADP100 wh. A few programs, washes well, dries ok, not great but ok. Standard free standing size, 60 x 85 x 59 cm. The washer itself is fine, but oh the cheap moulded plastic parts, utensil basket, water arms etc, so poorly made. Its amazing that a company would use such poor quality and design to save what can be a few cents on the overall product, personally I was disgusted at the cheap crappy plastic bits.

I purchased the original Whirlpool refrigerator in August of 2013. That was replaced in October of 2013 due to a factory defect that left the ice maker unusable. In April of 2014, we now have a factory defect that has resulted in the entire unit unable to keep the fridge below 70 degrees F. It has been 2 weeks since the fridge died and Whirlpool has informed me it will be another 2 weeks until a replacement fridge will be delivered. I have spoken with countless customer service reps and 2 customer service managers, as well as 1 executive from the executive office in Michigan. Several times Whirlpool has dropped the ball in this process. The original repair appointments were booked and had to be rebooked because the repair company could not accommodate the appointment times Whirlpool booked. It took over a week to get the fridge declared dead. Then another week just to process the request through tech support... After speaking with 2 customer service managers and being told it was being rushed, I spoke with an executive who said the claim had never been submitted and it would take another 24 to 48 hours to process. I spoke with the executive after the 48 hours and he said the fridge will be delivered in 2 weeks! 4 weeks without refrigeration for a second factory defect. I have explained that I have a newborn (6 weeks old when this started) and a 2 year old, and we have had up to 9 people staying in the house (to visit with the baby) over this period and that I need a fridge to keep my breast milk cold. I was told I would receive a $75 gift card and a $125 check to help with food and costs associated with the loss of our fridge... Neither have arrived. We are spending quite a bit on ice just to be able to keep food and milk cold to temp. so we dont have to spend money on eating out (too expensive for us). I am shocked by Whirlpool’s poor customer service. The first time the fridge was replaced I dealt with one person and didnt have to call the customer service line every day. I wish I had her number still.

I purchased a dishwasher less than 6 months ago from Menards. Since then, I have had to have it repaired twice, due to items getting past the filters and clogging up the drains, so the dishwasher wouldnt drain. I have a 1-year warranty that came with the dishwasher, so both repairs were covered. However, I felt that there should be more done by the company, such as a free extended warranty to cover the cost of repairs as Im sure there will be more; and this is a problem that even the repair man said shouldnt be happening.I called Whirlpool to see what could be done, and all they kept telling me is that I could purchase an extended warranty. I told them (nicely, at first) that I found that ridiculous - why should I pay even more to continue to fix a problem that I shouldnt be having? If they werent going to give me a free extended warranty, I requested at least a partial credit toward another dishwasher, and they could have the piece of junk I have back. They refused to help. I am beyond disappointed with the lack of concern they have for their customers. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

I purchased the Whirlpool washer and dryer three years ago and I absolutely wish that I hadnt. After three years of use, the bearings on the tub are shot. I need to replace them but it will cost $400.00 to repair. This is the second time that this machine is for repair. I am going to dispose this machine and purchase a new model other than Whirlpool. The overall performance is poor and not as advertised. It does not use enough water and does not wash clothes well enough. At times, you can see that the water never reached parts of the garments. I am totally disappointed in its value and quality.

Water began accumulating on the floor, dripping out of the freezer 16 months from installation. Upon investigating I found the bottom of the freezer had a solid sheet of ice on it. Water was dripping out from the back of the freezer and collecting until it froze. I followed a YouTube video that explained the problem, the freezer drain clogs. The video continued with a how-to dismantle the freezer to defrost the drain and drain the water. Apparently the drain is too small and the fix is a new grommet which costs approximately $27.00. I followed the YouTube video and TEMPORARILY fixed the trouble myself. This is a Whirlpool defect, aka, poor design. What is Whirlpool offering to customers to permanently solve this problem at no cost?

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer approximately 4 years ago thinking we were purchasing a top-of-the-line washer. The first year went great. I was very impressed with how it washed. My clothes came out cleaner than ever before; I loved it. But shortly after the warranty expired, one of the water pumps began leaking out all over the floor. We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!

Updated on 12/28/2020: I purchased a 28 cu. ft. side by side Whirlpool refrigerator less than 3 years ago (Feb. 18). The icemaker dispenser paddle quit working nearly a year ago and there are no replacement parts supported. Today the ice maker quit making ice. This is crap for a major appliance that youd expect to go twenty years or so. Very dissatisfied. Dont waste your money on this stuff.Original Review: I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator about 2-1/2 years ago, paid $1,800+ for it. Now two months ago the ice maker dispenser through the door quit working. I replaced the auger motor and that didnt help. Now the parts department says the actuator panels are no longer available. This is planned obsolescence to the Nth degree. No support for a major appliance less than 3 years old. Whirlpool SUCKS!!!

It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesnt cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. We bought a new Whirlpool side by side, model # WRS325FNAM00 in March 2014. In less than 48 hours, the freezer box was condensing and water was leaking on the bottom edge. The condensation got worse and worse. Five service calls later, Whirlpool replaced the freezer door--which took six weeks because it had to be manufactured. After the door was installed--no change. Whirlpool replaced the entire refrigerator in June. Guess what? The new one is doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same place. So far it has not gotten worse. Well see, we have only had it a week. But already the service rep has been out to the house and added the silicone gunk to the box in case there is a tiny air leak. Why would a brand new refrigerator have an air leak in the freezer box?

I waited over an hour on the phone. No employee can find my order in the system and hey keep on telling me that I did not order! In the end, the order have been found. They told me that the part has been in the back order and I will receive it on 9/12/2014 - 3 weeks away adding up to 4 mo since I order and my credit card was charged. I purchased a Whirlpool range from Lowes for $750.00. After 13 months, the digital circuit board went out and cost $580.00 to repair. I thought this was odd since the range was fairly new. The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again. So this must be the issue because that is the same problem that happened the first time. This must be a design flaw! The board cannot handle the heat generated in self-clean mode. I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher on March 13, 2007, along with a 3-year extended warranty. Well on Nov. 15, 2011, I had a part in the control panel go out, so they replaced it and they charged me $129.00 for labor and $29.18 for the part. My dishwasher is doing the same thing. It doesnt finish the cycle and I have to restart it, so I called the repairman A&E. They said the part is only guaranteed for 90 days. The part only lasted six months! Its the same part and the same problem. It should be considered a defective part. No matter how many you have replaced the part, it is going to need to be replaced and at $160.00, I cant afford it. They should have to pay for defective parts. Also on this model GU2600XTPSI on the panel buttons, the start button was made with this puffy plastic that has pulled apart and now it looks terrible! None of the other buttons were made this way. What a crappy workmanship, they should be embarrassed. This dishwasher was not cheap; it cost $650.00 plus $50.00 for the warranty. 4 years is too short of a time to have to replace any home appliance. There are appliance out there that are three times as old as mine and they are still working. Whirlpool serviceman came out to see why our brand new dishwasher didnt dry the dishes and left pools of water on glass bottoms. Repairman said all the new dishwashers are like this. The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. He said the solution is to use the dishwasher during the day and at the end of the cycle, open the door so the dishes air dry. My previous 24 year old GE dishwasher did a great job of drying the dishes even when we didnt use the heated dry cycle! I purchased a high-end Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM) a few months ago thinking I was making a wise upgrade. Poor design and it wont dry dishes or properly wash utensils when theyre placed in the utensil rack on the door panel. The unit heavily condenses after using heat dry mode and large water droplets completely cover the top of the inside cabinet. Eventually, they all fall down into the dishes and you now have wet dishes again. The Whirlpool tech’s response was to scratch the cabinet plastic with a scratchy pad, smear rinse aid over the plastic cabinet and that should stop droplets from forming. Whirlpool’s customer service told me they shouldve never told me that and what I should do is be there during the drying cycle and open the cabinet door to let the steam out. This is completely ludicrous. Dont walk but run away from Whirlpool products.

I have recently bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer/dryer combo and I wish I had read your reviews before doing so. I spend quite an amount of time washing, re washing, rinsing dark clothes to end up washing them by hand as the washer leaves unsightly white streaks on them. I have tried switching from hot water to cold, using very little detergent, buying clear detergent, then organic detergent, extra rinsing, etc. to no avail. Very frustrated and disappointed. I would gladly join any class action to stop Whirlpool selling these useless but expensive washers.

I bought my house brand new with all new Whirlpool Gold Series appliances. About a year and a half from purchase date, I started having issues with my fridge, then my dryer, then my washer, then my fridge again and that lasted about 5 months, then my microwave and my dishwasher. My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. I hope my last appliance doesnt break because I’m over Whirlpool, and I will never buy another appliance from them again.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

I purchased a Whirlpool duet front load washer 1/2013 new from Lowes. In 5 yrs it is my 2nd washer of Whirlpool. After 2 1/2 yrs, the bearings have gone out, also every time I run the cleaning cycle, water leaks out under the washer. My boyfriend looked the parts to fix the washer, since I called Lowes concerning the warranty and its out. Cost to repair, just in parts would be around $400, I paid a lot of money for a product to last only 2 1/2 yrs. Such a lack of quality in workmanship. With these price, there should be better quality. Do not purchase a whirlpool. 2 washers for them in 5 yrs is not a great track record.

We purchase Whirlpool fridge less than a year ago. Its still under guaranteed. 2 months ago we notice the fridge part heating up and food was going off. I went back to the shop where we purchase the fridge. They said we had to contact Whirlpool direct so we did had to wait 3 weeks for someone to come and look at it. Fridge is not repairable. Fella who came out did not report back to Whirlpool. I was waiting and waiting to hear word. I rang to see what was the story on it and eventually they said O we will exchanged your fridge and we will ring you on delivery date. Now Im over 2 month waiting on a fridge. Whirlpool is a joke. The company should be put out of business for what they do to honest people buying their stuff, and people who are in the same boat as me should go to the high court and sue them for all the stress they put people through. Shame on you Whirlpool. Disgrace.

I have had my Whirlpool W10280546B HE washer for 1 1/2 years. For the last year, I have had constant problems with the washer leaving a large amount of residue (in spots) all over my laundry. I have always run my washer as instructed, and I only used HE detergent in the correct amount. This residue appears to be fine lint, but may be lint combined with detergent.I have used the washing machine cleaning tablets and powders, but this has not helped at all. No one seems to have ever heard of this problem. I have to clean off these spots which cover approximately 1/3 of each article with every washing. The dryer helps get some of it off, but not nearly all of it. Any suggestions besides buying another washer of another brand after only 1 1/2 years?!

GW399LXUS range is Dangerous. Sheet metal cuts your fingers. In over 6 months, Whirlpool has failed miserably in fixing the problem. Bad replacement parts. Incomplete parts shipments. A dozen service calls. The local independent service companies are the only ones who have acted professionally. Other than the poor people who answer the complaint lines, nobody at Whirlpool seems to care. The product is poorly made and the product support is not competent. The range may have the features that we wanted, but who needs all this headache?

I bought a Whirlpool Dryer after reading an excellent review in Consumer Reports, despite it costing more than I wanted to spend. The first thing I noticed was a thump, thump, thump with every rotation of the drum. Then I realized that it took twice as long to dry my laundry as my 45 yr. old GE dryer, which only needed a belt, but which wasnt available anymore. I was disappointed in the Whirlpools performance, but that was only the beginning. One night when the dryer was less than 3 months old, I was in bed for the night and I heard the familiar thump of the dryer running. I went downstairs and could not stop it as it did not respond to anything on the digital control panel. I finally unplugged it. I called Whirlpool and they sent a new control panel, but I had to pay the service man.Not too long after that, the dryer heated up, but the drum would not turn. The serviceman said that it had come off track and he reset it. Shortly after, the door would not stay closed as the clamp that held it shut had fallen inside when I pushed the door closed. I replaced that. Then the drum continued to come disengaged because it was out-of-round. But, of course, the dryer was out of the 90 day warranty period too and a drum replacement would have cost more than the piece of junk was worth. So, I had it put back on for what I told myself would be the last time. Well, it was the last because the control panel went bonkers again and would go on by itself and only ran on one cycle if I plugged it in and unplugged it when it was done. I finally gave up and bought an inexpensive analog GE dryer which I never had any trouble with and dried the clothes in less time with less noise.

Whirlpool Cabrio - What a nightmare. One year in… from the beginning the washer completes a cycle without attention. It gets stuck in a rinse cycle and eventually stops with an FF error display. Because of this it wastes HUGE quantities of water and takes far too long to actually wash clothes. It is so frustrating. We will buy a new Bosch and THROW this way. We cant even pass it on to our grandchildren.

Bought this model from Bad Boy in 2006 and just after the warranty ended the problems began. We kept getting the F1 error code so with a little internet research we found it was a known problem with Whirlpool. I contacted them and was told they knew nothing about this issue being nationwide, however I emailed them copies of the complaints and responses. They sent out a technician who had to replace the motherboard free of charge. Next issue was a loud noise coming from washer sounding like a jet plane taking off. Hubby ripped machine apart to find the bearings blown apart and in tiny pieces. We ordered new ones and also found that when the new ones arrived they came with a tube of grease and a sealer to use so water would not get in later and cause more problems. Funny there was no sealer on the original bearings.Next the lid lock finally failed, ordered a new one but did NOT install it back into the machine, now it sits beside the machine. In case it fails again we will have total access to the laundry this time. Finally the UL error code keeps coming up. I refuse to put any more money into this machine again so I am allowing hubby to fix it if he chooses, whichever way he wants as long as no money is involved. So right now we have bungee cords holding the suspension rods tight to help with the uneven load code coming up all the time. Personal thoughts - DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL washer/dryers. They are crap and the company just does not care and they try to lie their way out of repairs if people have not done their homework.

My complaint is basically the same as all the others. Clothes do not come clean in my brand new Whirlpool washer. Ive had two other Whirlpools, and they were fine. This one, however, is a piece of junk. One of the main problems is that the washer is designed to use only lukewarm water, even on the hot setting, it does not use hot water. Another problem is too little water. Another irritating factor is the constant locking of the lid. Another problem is the constant starting and stopping of the agitator. This cannot be good for the motor. Im at the point of giving away my new washer which Ive had for exactly one week. This is a totally inferior product, and I feel that I have been really ripped off.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet machine in September 2010. About a year ago, I started noticing tears and stains on clothing. Luckily, it was always on a washcloth or blanket, nothing special. Last week, it tore a 3-inch hole in my good jacket. I was not happy! My husband and I checked inside the drum and all around the seal. Neither of us found any rough edges. I thought if I called Whirlpool, they might have had a recall. They assured they had never heard of this problem. REALLY!!! Just look at all these e-mail complaints. Back to the old top loading - basic wash machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool!!!

I called Whirlpool’s 800 customer service line to let them know I was having a problem with this loud humming and rattling noise coming from my refrigerator because of a manufacturing defect (according to the service tech that came to my house to fix it). Apparently, the metal grid is being held by a flat mental hook which vibrates. What a loud noise. We cannot eat in our kitchen: the noise it terrible. The repairmans solution was to put a piece of rubber between the two metal pieces. It worked until he left. I told him it would start again and it did! I even let the customer service rep hear the noise and she agreed. I am in the early stages of my problem, but from what I have read I am not very hopeful. I would like to have the names and phone numbers of the people at Whirlpool who refused to help. Maybe if we would all band together and call them, they would get tired of hearing from unhappy customers and fix the problems. I am game. Anyone else?

Had 2 mechanics look at it. Mechanically it is fine. The CCU is not working correctly and wont allow it to start. We replaced it, but to no avail. It is barely out of warranty at 5+ years old. Called Whirlpool and they said they would do nothing. Asked for a manager and she was rude to add insult to injury. Cant get to the serial number because the door is locked shut as part of the shutdown problem. Cant find original receipt so including a picture of the credit card purchase. Now it is outside, unlit, in a steel hub (as directed) and still not ok...I have no hot water and have not for 4 weeks now... Whirlpool sucks... never buy their hot water heaters. Had to pay a serviceman $750 to move heater, run cold/hot water lines and gas line and it still does not work... with NO HELP from Whirlpool. I received this Email from the Whirlpool Director of Consumer Care to evaluate my experience with their customer service department. I filled out the survey over a week ago including a complete documentation of my problems and have not even received an acknowledgment of the survey or promise to look into my problems. In the last 7 months I have experienced problems with 2 Whirlpool major appliances which both appear to be unrepairable and which have been unsuccessfully brought to the attention of your customer support group. In March a fridge and in October a clothes washer. Both were high end products roughly 3 to 4 years old. I did not have an extended warranty with the fridge so I dealt directly with the customer support group. However I was covered by warranty with the washer and your distributor Bad Boy have been making the calls on my behalf but have been just as disappointed to date as I was. Both cases were very similar. In both cases the repairman came out within a few days and promised to return the following week with the broken part but I have never heard from either one of them EVER. In the case of the fridge I was told to defrost it the day before the promised repair date and lost all the food $$$. At this stage a number of calls went out from me to Whirlpool for the fridge and from Bad Boy for the washer and eventually we both got a new delivery date of roughly one month. Both times the date passed with no shows and no call backs. Repeated calls later to the customer service group, with promises of EXPEDITING the delivery, the fridge part delivery date was extended to 3 months so we had no choice but to buy a new fridge. As for the washer, Bad Boy even had an unsuccessful face to face meeting with your representatives and we have had no word back or expected delivery dates well into the third month.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO? I have made so many calls with so few call backs and no clue what to expect or when? Your representatives use the word expedite with no idea what the word means. At the suggestion of one of your representatives I even called one of your distributors Sears to see if they had the part. Their Canadian head office is in the Philippines and they said they had the same problem with Whirlpool. Twice I tried to talk with your representatives supervisor and both times were unsuccessful. In a world of computers where it should take seconds to find inventory parts and expediting packages usually refers to next day delivery, the fact Whirlpool requires months is unbelievable. The only explanations I can come up with is 1- You dont make parts for your appliances. 2- New appliances are made so poorly all parts are gone. 3- You could not care less about your customers. 4- You dont own a computer. Most of our appliances are Whirlpool because we thought you had a good reputation. We had to purchase a new fridge and still have had no word on the washer?

We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years
We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years ago. There are only two of us living in the house and we both work so it is not like we use our dishwasher every day. Dishwasher is Whirlpool Whisper Quiet III Gold model. About three months ago, the panel lights quit working but the dishwasher would still run. Now the blasted thing will not even turn on. Our ice maker freezes up and we are always having to ice pick out the ice and clean out the ice maker. Basically, we never use it because we are tired of the process of cleaning it just to have ice. Now after reading reviews, I do not want to fork out the money to have a repair person come in and fix the dishwasher which most likely will break down somewhere else. Plus the dishwasher tray has a lot of broken tips and are rusty and I have actually had to file a few to keep from getting stabbed by the sharp point. The previous dishwasher worked great and had been in the house for over 15 years. I wish I could remember what brand it was. I only replaced it because I wanted one to match the refrigerator. I am appalled at the quality of the Whirlpool products. I have to get another dishwasher and I have other things that I need to spend my money on rather than a dishwasher. I wont buy another Whirlpool product as of September 13, 2013.

They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

Whirlpool gave me an option for an extended warranty given that the orig one had long ended. I purchased it - a one year warranty. In that year I have had technicians to my house 6-7 times to diagnose or swap parts. They eventually swapped all 3 boards on the dryer. It still shuts down before clothes are dry. Whirlpool tells me that they outsource this service and take no responsibility for either their lemon of a machine nor their lemon service company; Alliance Repair. I would like the money back for the extended warranty so that I could buy a new dryer and all I get is a runaround from both the service company and whirlpool. My son purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer as a Christmas gift on 12-24-10 from Sears. It didnt wash the clothes properly and I would have to rewash them. Also, it would not spin the cloths properly and the top would take forever to unlock. Then in July, I called for repair because the water would not spin out at all. It took at least two weeks for them to come out. Another two weeks to get the part they ordered then to find out that they also needed another part that was not diagnosed in the first place. After another three weeks had gone by and having to go to the laundry to wash our clothes several times, it was finally fixed. I continued to have problems with the clothes not getting cleaned. How can this possibly be an energy efficient product when you have to do the load twice? I am so grateful to my son for the gift but am so dissatisfied with the product. I rate this product 1 out of 5 stars.

I am following up on a review I submitted on April 22, 2015 about a Whirlpool refrigerator with french doors and bottom refrigerator. At the time, paint was falling off from the door as pictured in the previous review. This another chapter on this story and probably the closing chapter. A few months after the paint event which I could have lived for a while, the right door hinge literally disintegrated leaving the door without support. The door seals material is of such poor quality that they have disintegrated and the water condenses inside. The bottom photo shows hinge components that came off the door hinge on the kitchen floor. The second photo from the bottom up photo shows how the door scraped the plastic of the freezer door top trim if the door is not lifted to clear it. The second photo from top to bottom shows the door over the hinge pin if I am not careful lifting the door to clear the freezer door. The first photo from top to bottom shows how the door remains open if not lifted so that the door magnetic seal keeps it in place. It is very hard for me to believe that a country like the United States of America treats its customers with no respect. I met my obligation to pay the amount on the price tag of this appliance but I cannot say that Whirlpool did its part of providing a basic quality product. There is no consumer protection agency in this country to protect consumers from corporate predators that have no sense of a fair deal with a customer. So here we are, being abused by United Corporations of America. I hope the future brings a different understanding of the american people on these matters. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself on this matter. Next step... buy a foreign made appliance that will support another country work force... sounds familiar.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer In July 2014 for $937 cd. What a waste of my hard earned money! I have had nothing but issues with it since I purchased it. The retailer no longer sells them as they have seen nothing but complaints with them yet Whirlpool did nothing to help me as a client. It does not wash the clothes, there is such a foul smell even when cleaning it once a month as requested and the clothes comes out soaking and not rinsed properly. The technician came out and advised the washer was not broken. That is just the model. I have requested supervisors to call me back and most recently wrote the corporate office. I am out almost $1000 and in a situation where I have to go purchase a new washer as I just cant stand to use this product any longer. I am shocked they have not placed a recall on this model. What a poor product.

The oven has not worked correctly from day one. I have to use a thermometer plus after the correct temp is indicated I still have to wait another 15 minutes for the oven to reach the desired temp. Also have to set the temp for 25 degrees higher than the one I want. The burner that supposedly has two sizes in one is basically useless. Temps are not correct and sizes are misleading. There is a tiny groove around the outside edge of the stove top that gathers crumbs which are hard to clean out.

My wife and I purchased this Cabrio washer 6 years ago when we got our new home. I have replaced the discharge pump 2 times, and approximately 2 months ago, we developed a noise so loud it was like a jet engine landing. I called our appliance store and paid $100 for an estimate, only to find out it will cost $973.00 to fix it. When we bought this, I was told it will be the last washer we will ever need. Ill never use Whirlpool again and recommend no one else does, either. I wrote to your customer chat line and basically the reply was Sorry about your luck. I know Im not the only one with this issue.

The ice builds up over two week periods and begins to leak onto the floor, requiring me to empty the freezer, chop out the ice and put everything back. The repair job is in the vicinity of $100. The warranty on Whirlpool is totally useless!!! I purchased a new refrigerator from Lowes in September 2015. I have had to call 3 times because the ice maker quits working. (It has been replaced 2 times so far.) This time I have been without my icemaker for 6 weeks. When I called today - they informed me they would contact another repair company, but they could not come out for 1 month. They acted like I was bothering them - when I called again today - I did not buy a new appliance to have it break down every 3 months. They only use A & E Repair and Tri-County Appliances, and they must be so busy fixing other Whirlpool appliances that break down - that you have to wait 4- 6 weeks for a repair. Ridiculous!!

I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove was given to me. I have used it for 3 years. One day, out of the blue, the oven, which was in use, started clanging loud and jumping up and down. I started screaming & tried to cut it off & it would not go off. I ran to the panel box & threw the breaker. It also burned my food that was cooking. It did it several times. Then I decided to not cut the light on or touch the button to raise the temp. It has not done it since. I bake everything on 350 degrees and immediately throw the breaker. I am scared of this stove and plan to replace it. I will NOT buy a Whirlpool, anything. We relied on consumer reports as the primary source for a recommendation on this washer. Just under two years old, it started making a noise, which suddenly went away. Then one day the machine would not spin and drain, and we could not decipher the error code into anything useful. I turned the machine over to find that the drive belt was half-on/half off the pulley on the drive motor. This caused the belt to ride against the belt guard and wear right through it. I removed the belt and determined that the cause of the problem was that the large pulley on the drum was loose. For some reason the nut which holds that pulley on was slightly loose, causing the pulley to wobble. Not sure why they didnt use some Loctite on that nut. I put everything back together and tightened the nut. No problems and I checked it a month later, everything was still good. Fast forward to last week, when the machine was not yet 3 years old. Same thing, washer would not spin and drain. Tipped machine over to find that the belt had fallen off, the drum pulley was again loose. But this time the belt had damaged the pulley on the motor. I figured, no problem, just order a new pulley. Well you can buy just the pulley on the drum, but the pulley on the motor is part of the motor, it cannot be ordered by itself. The cheapest I could find the motor online was $250. We decided to cut our losses and buy a new machine. We will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance (or anyone elses by the same manufacturer, i.e. Maytag). Our last Kenmore washer lasted 23 years. Oh but it had an agitator and wasnt listed as HE (High Efficiency), so I suppose the environmentalists would get the dry heaves thinking about the impact of that washer on the environment. But it was useful for 23 years. Now this High Efficiency Whirlpool is headed for the recycling pile. Sorry, I think this hurts the environment more than an appliance which just works year after year. Yep, they took a design that worked and now we have energy/water efficient washers that dont last very long and are so expensive to repair that the solution is to just buy a new one.

I have had this refrigerator for 23 months. The ice maker has been a continual problem. It overfills and water runs onto my hardwood floor. After four service calls for the ice maker, the defroster heater caught on fire and melted the interior wall of the freezer. Not sure if we fixed the ice maker since we had the fire four days after the last service call. My service rep declared the refrigerator unrepairable. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty and they refunded 85% of the purchase price after 2 years of use. Besides the ice maker problem and the fire, I also had trouble with food freezing in the refrigerator compartment. I dont recommend this model, but my repairman says that Whirlpool is as good as it gets.

I am very unhappy with this Whirlpool refrigerator model# GX5FHDXVQ 04. I bought this model in October 2011. You have to push the left door to close it and if you dont then the fridge will stay open. I had a Whirlpool tech come to fix this door problem so this is what he told me: 1) You have to push the door in order to close it properly; 2) Before closing the left door, I should first open the right door (losing energy); 3) The gasket will break very fast; 4) Buy a three-year protection plan because you will have to use it; 5) The freezer is very uncomfortable. In the bottom drawer, you have to fit your stuff. If you put your freezer stuff in a drop higher, then you cant close the drawer, so I am losing space; 6) Sometimes when I fill up the fridge, I move the temperature to #5. After a day, the top shelf back stuff will freeze and the front stuff will stay on fridge temperature. Yesterday, 4-18-2012, for the second time, the freezer gets a sheet of ice. Repairman will repair it but who knows. This fridge looks to me like a lemon. The height is 70 but listed as. I rate this fridge with a CCC.

I am 72 years old and this Whirlpool Energy Star HE Washing Machine is just useless. It does not clean clothes properly. It always leaves a stinky washing machine smell which never goes away despite no matter what you do. A completely useless, faulty washing machine! Never ever buy a Whirlpool HE washing machine! Some websites say that you need to buy a washer fan at a cost of $69.99 and attach it to the back of your washing machine as this is the only way you can get rid of the smell. Who has that kind of money? Why is this fan not already included in this washing machine if Whirlpool is aware of the smelly washing machine/smelly clothes problem? This is such a joke! We would like to be reimbursed for our deficient Whirlpool Washing Machine or at the very least, have a recall of this inefficient, poorly designed washing machine. It leaks underneath the machine, its rusting on the bottom of the machine horribly. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! I guess things are not made with the same quality as years ago, but I will not ever spend my hard earned money on WHIRLPOOL AGAIN!!! If I could give Whirlpool products and their customer service zero stars, I would! We built our beautiful home that was complete in June 2015. Our builder was installing Whirlpool products in the homes he was building at the time. So we decided to accept the microwave, dishwasher and drop in gas range that he offered. We had never had Whirlpool kitchen appliances and no reason to respectfully decline the brand. We bought a french door Whirlpool refrigerator as well so the handles would match our open concept kitchen. In addition to the poor quality overall, the microwave makes a terrible buzzing noise that has been fixed two times thus far. The refrigerator is so loud at times that its difficult to hear the television when sitting in the living room. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes on any setting to include heat dry hours and hours after the cycle is complete. This forces us to hand dry our dishes prior to putting them in the cupboard. The cast-iron grates on the drop in range already look terrible because the enamel is coming off. I clean all the appliances as recommended by Whirlpool and like to keep our home beautiful because it is our place of solace and comfort. As stated prior, our kitchen and living room are open concept so I now have to contend with an eyesore in the middle of our homes hub because Whirlpool considers this manufacturing flaw as cosmetic and wont cover it under warranty. To add insult to injury, these poor quality products are the higher end available from Whirlpool. We plan to wait for the year end warranty to expire and replace the four appliances with a brand that has always offered excellent customer service and has been very reliable and trustworthy for us. As a consumer, I would save yourselves the agony of purchasing any Whirlpool appliances!!!

Ive had the WDF510PAY dishwasher for 3 years and the circulation pump broke. To be more specific the impeller inside the circulation pump warped and then basically got lodged because it became oblong and then it wouldnt pump water to the spray arms etc. I bought a new pump because the warranty only last a year. The pump cost around 90 bucks. After not even 1 full year this factory replacement pump failed again. I reviewed other Whirlpool dishwashers more expensive and I found they all have this same junky circulation pump. Im not sure of a better dishwasher but I would never recommend a Whirlpool dishwasher again. They also use the same circulation pump in Maytag and many other brands. Whirlpool or whoever designed and sold this pump to Whirlpool should be tracked down and beaten. Simple products like dishwashers should last more than 3 years. The technology is nothing new. A product should last 10 years at least.

Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load, Short Agitator to protect clothing, cost reasonable, on sale $800.00 both (Aug. 2013) - Sears credit no interest. Moved, and had to sell after a year, but I anticipated a long life r/t rating/reviews online. One Problem: no setting to soak clothing that may need it. I bought the largest Whirlpool Cabrio to make sure my Queen bedspread (heavy blanket type fur on one side) would fit. Because of the short agitator I could have bought the smaller one I discovered. I could fit 6 regular side and 4 beach heavy beach size towels in it easily, or two Queen quilts in at a time. I rarely needed an Xlg water setting. The dryer had a steam only setting but I never tried it because it was set up in the apartment when I arrived and the delivery people were not very bright. Put the Dryer farthest from the vent, washer farthest from faucets, and put hot and cold hoses on opposite spigots. I did not want to chance they set up the steam section wrong, as well. I moved across country 1 year later, but have trust the W/D would do well. My last Sears brand (made by Whirlpool) only had one minor problem (on warranty) and lasted a good 8-10 years before moving and selling them to another couple. They were still in wonderful working order (front loader).

I will never touch the premier Whirlpool Brand Again. This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again). This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items). The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!
