I was having trouble with our Whirlpool water heater and thought that wed have to shell out and buy a whole new one. Chris saw my complaint and helped me find the right replacement kit at a minimal cost, as my unit was out of warranty. He even took the extra step and overnighted the parts for us at no extra cost. I was extremely impressed with Chris professionalism and customer support skills.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

I have owned two different Whirpool washers over the last several years, and they have both been a very big disappointment. More than that they have cost me money, time, and peace of mind. The Duet was my first experience with a Whirlpool appliance. It was a front load that I replaced the water pump on twice and constantly had to take the front bottom piece of the washer off to clean the trap on. It had been taken off so much that the machine actually just fell apart. It also had some type of mold or mildew problem where it made the clothes smell. It was a constant headache.I was stupid and allowed a salesperson from HHGregg to talk me into purchasing the Whirlpool Cabrio washer. Another huge mistake. Again, cost me time, money and peace of mind. I have owned the washer for a COUPLE OF MONTHS, and the clothes that I have washed smell so bad that I cannot use the washer anymore. I tried to call customer service, but it is impossible to get any help because the lines were so backed up, I have not had the time to sit and wait for an available person. Not to mention there is an extensive process of pushing lots of buttons before you are put on hold to presumably talk to a human being. I assume this is because so many people are having so many problems with their Whirlpool appliances. It is not surprising. I bought a new washer, a GE. It is awesome! When I have the patience and the time, I will try to call Whirlpool again and see if they are willing to do anything about the washer that at this point is just sitting in my garage taking up space. I spent around $600 on a washer I only got a few months of use out of. When we moved it to the garage, we could hear water swishing around, which explains the horrible smell of the clothes. Once I started having the issue, I went online to see if this was an easy fix, and it turned out that LOTS of other people are having the exact problem, to the point where people are trying to get a class action suit going. Do yourself a favor and avoid the hassle of dealing with this company. If you purchase a Whirlpool washer, I guarantee you will be sorry. Trust me, I was stupid enough to do it twice. Hope this helps someone avoid the headache these appliances have given me.I will never buy Whirlpool again. And by the way, Maytag is made by as well as the following: Admiral (Canada), Chambers, Coovert (acs), Crosley (newer fridges, a/c, washers), Danby (8, Estate, Inglis, Ikea, Kenmore (see Sears), KitchenAid (4), Kirkland, Maytag Epic®, Roper, Speed Queen (Canada only), Sub Zero (undercounter ice makers), Whirlpool.

I purchased a fridge from them a little over a year ago. First and LAST EVER. The freezer door started to sag and when I called them I was told my warranty expired a month ago. Had a Whirlpool service person look at it and told me that the cost is $110 plus $45. I said that is fine. They scheduled another appointment but I received a call 12 minutes before the time expired (as you know they say in the afternoon and no exact time and they said between 2 and 4:30) and the guy asked me what is wrong with the fridge. I told him that someone took a look at it a week prior but I had to go through the whole thing. Then he said that they dont have the part and I have to wait for a week. This was a Saturday before Xmas and waited all afternoon to be told that was very upsetting. Any how I called customer service and spoke with a Michelle. She said she is going to try and find out if she can waive the additional service fee, arrange the time and will comp the parts (around $15). After 45 minutes on the phone I had to jump off for a business call so Michelle said she will email me and I gave her my email.Few hours passed and no email. When I called back the idiot that answered the phone kept saying that the warranty is out and I need to call another number so I asked for a supervisor. I was on hold for 11 minutes then I was hung up on. I called again and asked for a supervisor. Spoke with Benjamin (Opt# **), he said that Michelle notes did not state anything about help in possibly waiving anything and that I refused the parts. I was furious. What a LIE. Long story short he said they cant waive anything and I should call the scheduling number for any help. I asked to speak to Michelle and guess what the answer was... SHE IS BUSY. What the hell. The service is well below zero as well as the quality of the product. I am going to send a letter to the office of President (Jeff Fettig) Whirlpool Corp. 2000 North M-63, Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022-2692. It is so sad when corporation are so big that little people who buy their products dont mean much to them.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in October 2010 and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We had two worthless calls to Whirlpool and all the regular brain-dead suggestions that do not improve function. We have had a technician out to our home and we have the extended warranty. The technician stated that the machine will never function properly and Whirlpool knows this. The low water level prevents washing, rinsing. The problems with the washing machine are many and the required multiple washes and rinses make the claim for low energy usage false advertising. It leaves white streaks on dark clothes constantly and has residue on everything from sheets to silks, no matter the cycle. Theres not enough water which covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. According to the technician, these complaints are what they respond to all day, everyday. There is no mechanical fix for this design flawed machine. If you are looking at buying this machine, dont! The machine has ruined lots of laundry. Do not waste your money or your time. I would like my money back. The Whirlpool company definitely plays dumb on the customer service calls. Its a non-functional washer as it damages laundry and has false claim for low energy usage.

I bought a new Whirlpool fridge that has been a piece of junk since the day I bought it. The minute the warranty expired. The thing broke down. The corporate service center was a joke. 15 min wait time just to get through. Then a runaround of misinformed referral numbers. Minimum charge $200/30 min just to have a service rep even look at it. And then $100/hour + parts after that. Highway robbery. My doctor doesn’t even charge me that much. I will never buy a piece of junk WP product ever again. Their customer service is rude and non-existent. The company does not stand behind its products. Don’t buy!

This complaint refers to model number ET8MHKXMB. It was purchased in November of 2008 and the fan had to be replaced on May 29, 2012. The cost of this repair was $189.79. This is a terrible thing to have happened. Obviously, the fan was made cheaply. We are very dissatisfied and will not purchase another Whirlpool refrigerator ever!

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in April. The motor ran constantly. The company replaced it for me but it was back ordered until July. The one delivered in July kept freezing the items in my refrigerator. I had two service people come out to replace parts in the next couple of months. The entire time having to throw out frozen food. Finally, they had another one delivered in November. This one continues to freeze food in the refrigerator. Mind you, I just got it and they want to start again with service. Seems others are having the same issues. My 4 month old gas oven is also not broiling. Customer service is awful. Every time I call the wait time is over an hour and then they don’t really help. I would not recommended Whirlpool to anyone.

I Bought the Whirlpool Duet Steam Mod#: WFW95HEDC0 in 2015. I have always wondered how a machine can get clothes clean with less water but liked the idea of the energy star and saving water. However, I found that I was right and the clothes do not get very clean. They do not even get all wet hence the dry feeling when they are done. I just recently got a little frustrated at having to rewash some things by hand afterwards. I started to pretreat and wash out stains by hand beforehand. That helped some. I finally stopped the machine after all the water was done filling it and it tumbled a bit. It looked like it was wet from the window but when I dug through the clothes I pulled out a t-shirt that was almost bone dry. Some of the other thicker clothes like jeans etc. had a lot of dry spots too. This is why the odors don’t come out and why spots and lines are left where the dry meets the wet. There just isn’t enough water get all the material wet. I then proceeded to pour a pail of water in to get all the clothes wet. When I started it back up, it drained some of the water and I still had the problem. So now I get all the clothes wet in the sink before I put them in the washer. It’s amazing how clean they got and they didn’t have the body odors either. I think this machine would be fine if it could be reprogrammed to add more water for cycles. I know that would change the “Energy Star” but this water saving idea is bogus if we have to rewash and add more water to the cycles. At this point I will be looking for a new machine that doesn’t have the energy star but allows me to adjust the water myself. I do not trust these machines anymore.

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher approx. 3 years ago from Home Depot and it just quit working. Troubleshooting did nothing. Called Whirlpool to make sure there was no recalls on it. I have owned many Whirlpool appliances and bought this last one because of past good experience. Turns out, after $300 plus repair, it was the control panel. The repairman said, This should not have happened, it is like new. I asked him if he thought it was a lemon? He just looked down, it happens. I am so disappointed in the quality of Whirlpool. I purchased my water heater at Lowes and had it installed professionally. I suspected something was not quite right on numerous occasions because the hot water recovery time seemed excessive. I finally called Whirlpool and they gave me the names and numbers of two companies that were on their list. The first asked for the model number and normal information and never called back. The second showed up spent five minutes charged me 78 dollars and said they could not get the part (gas valve) I needed. And if I could get it from Whirlpool they would charge me 250 to put it on. They also said Whirlpool made horrible water heaters and I should save myself the trouble and just replace it. I have since heard from additional plumbers and the gas company to stay away from Whirlpool. I did have the water heater replaced. When they did it and they drained the old water heater it had so much sludge in it draining it was very difficult. The sludge is mystery since I have a softener in my home and it should have prevented that. The individual from that gas company said that was just one of the many issue others had experienced with these heaters.

After replacing our competent GE dishwasher with a Samsung dishwasher and having to replace it immediately due to the terrible job it did, we bought a Whirlpool Gold Series (stainless tub) for just under $400. I realize this is the bottom of the stainless tub price point, but we have been so disappointed! The silverware container sites outside the regular tub, and rarely cleans even easy substances to remove, if there are more than a few items in each container. Dishes on the other levels are very hit or miss -- each and every load has to be examined for dirty dishes. Id pull this one out and return it too if it werent such a hassle. Dont buy this product.

We bought Cabrio washer & dryer a year & half ago, and I hate, hate, hate the washing machine. Every load, it goes off balance. And you have to stop your other work, unlock & wait awhile on that, and rearrange your load of clothes. I called the repairman when I first had it, and he said, Oh yeah that happens, nothings wrong. OMG! How I wish I had returned it. If you dont rearrange the load when the cycle is done, your clothes are still soaked. So you have to re-drain & spin. Total waste of money & a lot of my time. Very very dissatisfied and will never buy another Whirlpool product.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

This was the first new appliance that I had actually ever had and I purchased it in October of 2010. After four months, it started make a grinding sound. I called Whirlpool and the repair man replaced the motor. Approximately four months after that, the lid got stuck and the machine would not respond. Same routine as before, but this time the transmission was replaced. While the machine was apart, I noticed the white insulating panel from the bottom was brown in a spot and looked as if it had gotten hot. A month before the 1 year warranty expired, the washer started making an intermittent grinding sound nearly identical to the sound made when the motor went out. This time a different service company was sent out my Whirlpool and the said that nothing was wrong. Now, the machine is out of warranty and has stopped cleaning close and during the spin cycle the you can hear water running into the machine constantly. Last months water bill shows a 40% increase in water consumption when nothing has changed to incur a larger bill. Seeing all these comments makes me wonder why the heck nothing is being done to force recalls on such poor products. Consumers should be treated with a lot more respect than this. I will never recommend a Whirlpool product to anyone I meet. In fact, I will strongly discourage anyone who is contemplating buying a Whirlpool washer machine.

I purchase the front load, energy efficient brands, low water usage. Love Whirlpool; never had a problem with their appliances. Front load, low water usage, clothes dont sit and spin in dirty water. Dryer has multiple cycles. Perfect for the whole family. My last Whirlpool set last me over ten years, wanted that same quality level in my new purchase. I wanted a quality machine. I was very familiar with the Whirlpool brand and knew that was going to be my first choice in a brand. These were full size. The tub is large enough to hold a king size comforter and wash it without destroying it. The dryer has a separate attachment for pillows and shoes (sneaker plus) and was competitively priced at the time of purchase.

About five years ago, I purchased a top load Whirlpool Cabrio washer and matching dryer. For the past couple of years or so, this washer gets out of balance every spin cycle. It sounds like a mac truck running through my house. At this time, I do not have $300-$400 to buy a warranty when I feel that this problem is so widespread (via internet complaints) that Whirlpool should fix this problem. I replaced a perfectly working 13-year old Maytag washer simply because my dryer went out. I have contacted customer service with no results. I recommended this washer to my neighbor about a couple of years ago and now I am sorry I did. Little did I know that three years in there would have to be a repair. As you know, this isnt a bottom of the line cheap washer, therefore, I wouldnt expect it would be acting like one after this period of time. I asked Dave who at Whirlpool cared and basically, he had no answer. I told him that I would expect a company as large as Whirlpool to have people who have the job of searching the internet to see what people are saying about the company and if they did, they would know this was a problem with these washers and would initiate some sort of recall. This is such a bone of contention at my house that I wish the thing would just die so I had to go buy another (and trust me it wont be a Whirlpool). But rather, I get to listen to my washer thrust throughout my house every load I do.

On December 21, it became clear that I needed to replace our 13-year old Rheem water heater. We decided to buy one from Lowes, 36 miles away and have a handy man install it. He installed the new Whirlpool 50 gal gas water heater with a 12-year warranty on Friday, the 22nd, but could not get it to stay lit. He called Whirlpool to troubleshoot. They said it could be one of two parts and that they would ship the parts on the Monday after Christmas. He asked who would install and they recommended a local plumber. He called that plumber but they indicated they did not do Whirlpool warranty work and would have to charge. On Monday, I called Whirlpool and was assured the parts would be shipped that day for overnight delivery. I confronted them about the local plumber not doing their warranty work so they set up an appointment with a company called A&E for Wednesday morning. On Tuesday morning, I called Whirlpool to get the tracking number on the parts and was told that they did not get shipped on Monday as promised but would be shipped that day, arriving by the end of the day Wednesday, too late for the appointment for installation.By Tuesday night, my wife got on this site and was appalled to read the numerous identical complaints. I decided that Wednesday morning that I would hire a plumber to remove the Whirlpool and install another so we would not have a lifetime of problems from Whirlpool. The plumber installed a different water heater. It started right up and we have had no problems since. I got an R or RA number from Whirlpool which I think they only gave me because the parts had not arrived on time and I returned the piece of ** to Lowes for a refund. Lowes has a seven-day return policy of these.

I bought model N40S61-403 gas water heater. I had it installed, and then I came to find out that you cannot common vent with another power vented unit. I contacted Whirlpool 3 times, and got no help, other then it was hooked up wrong. The issue I have is that the water heater’s pilot light puffs out when the furnace kicks on. These 2 items are common vented, in the installation guide. It does not say anything about common venting until page 11, and even then, it is not in bold or highlighted letters. Now the unit’s pilot light is going out without the furnace kicking on. Once again, I got no satisfaction from Whirlpool, other than it was hooked up wrong. I realize that I am the one who is ultimately responsible. Hopefully, they put something on the box, or earlier in the guide to warn novices, such as myself. As for Whirlpool, that will be the last product of theirs that I put in my home, and as soon as possible, I will be removing 3 other appliances during a kitchen remodel, and will replace them with a different brand.

I have hated this Cabrio washer and dryer set since the day they were delivered brand new by Best Buy a couple of years ago. The washer does not clean well, often does not spin dry, and leaves some clothes dry after a full wash cycle!!! I have to wash small loads on the deep water cycle to even have a chance at cleaning the clothes. The clothes are so dreadfully compacted and tangled that it takes great effort to birth them out of the washer, unfurl them, shake them, and put them into the next torture machine- the dryer. It is as if Whirlpool intended to build a machine to twist clothing so tight that it requires a bodybuilder to untangle the clothing. Then the items are so incredibly crumpled that ironing has found its way back into my already busy life. Ironing is a massive challenge to the degree of wrinkles in the clothing. The slanted tops are icing on the cake. Cant even pull the clothes out of the dryer to the top of it because they slide right off. Cool.

Each time going for a week or so, without hot water. After relighting the heater 10 times in the past year, and service calls, Whirlpool authorized me yesterday to return it to Lowes, and get a replacement. I need to hire a plumber to unhook it, haul it to Lowes, get the new one, and install it. It cost me about $300 to $400. Will the replacement be any better? I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. This is my first Whirlpool washer and I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I paid $600.00 for this washer and it should not be rusting.

My wife and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in 2011 and now the washer has an error code of F7 E5. I spoke with an appliance guy and he says that it is going to cost up to $450 to repair it. The wash cycle does nothing, it just sits there and then it goes to the next cycle. I have grown up in a household that had washing machines that lasted many years. This is a joke. Why am I having to buy a new washer in 3 years? I dont understand. Whirlpool knows that this is a problem and they should step up and do a recall or some kind of discount towards a new machine. This is ridiculous.

I purchased this range/electric (ygfe461lvq0) two years ago. It worked fine, but once about a year ago, the oven overheated and the breaker had to be turned off to stop it. No error codes were displayed. Year two, the oven broiler element stays on regardless if using bake or broil. Oven will go into runaway mode and breaker or cancel button has to be pushed to stop it from over heating. This range is a fire hazard and should be recalled regardless of what age it is. I called Whirlpool at Sears which recommended a tech who arrived to tell me that the control board is shot and for a price of around $400.00, it could be replaced. What is up with that? I had to pay for the expensive tech, also for 15 minutes of work. Sears says that I should have taken the extended warranty plan for around $160. Do I have to pay for an extended plan to have my house burned down due to a defect in manufacturing from Whirlpool? This is disgusting that a company can get away with crap like this. How do you people sleep at night?

I have had this Whirpool Cabrio washer now for one year. Clothes always come out wrinkled (even after drying). It leaves clothes unclean and leaves white streaks in clothes. Water level is so low in, that it cannot rinse or wash clothes properly. After washing towels, when removed to put in the dryer, soap is left in towels. I have had a repairman here, he says the design is bad, yet reports works as designed. Dont buy this washer. This is a piece of junk!

Had washer less than 1 year and washer stopped and was flashing code F 51. Called Whirlpool and they sent a repair person. He worked on it and didnt fix problem. Called Whirlpool back. They had to order parts. Repairman came back - replaced parts. Now not 6 months later same thing happening. Whirlpool said we have to pay for labor to repair again. We went online after this happened the first time and saw where others had same problem - this washer should be recalled. The repairman said this part was corroding. This should not be happening on a new washer. We will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!!! Im concerned that it will keep repeating over and over and we paid 700+ for this washer not 1 1/2 ago. My last washer lasted 15 years!!! Wasnt a Whirlpool!!!

From what I have been reading they barely make it thru the warranty period. Maybe they will run longer if one doesnt register the appliance. Especially with the crappy service for the ones that tried to have it repaired under warranty. I purchased it at Costco online, my next complaint will be to Costco, hopefully theyve gotten more complaints and pressure Whirlpool to stand by their product, NO MORE WHIRLPOOL FOR ME EITHER.

As very happy owners of a previous model of this fridge freezer when ours needed replacing, we went direct to Whirlpool and bought the latest model. What a mistake! Other comments on this site are so accurate if only we had seen them before. A kitchen floor covered in ice mush (cubes seem out of the question) and tepid water from the water dispenser whereas on the previous model it was chilled. Basic functions that the previous model excelled at. Sadly it is also badly designed inside the fridge. We raised these issues with Whirlpool within our first year who merely said sorry you are unhappy and thanks for your comments. Be very wary of Whirlpool products and service.

Three years ago I bought a bottom freezer Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowes. Two days after it was installed, I noticed a pool of water on the kitchen floor. This happened again. I called Lowes and they brought out another refrigerator, same make and model, and took the first one away. A year later the same thing happened. I had it repaired - quite an ordeal for the technician. He had to order a part and found it difficult to actually get into the freezer. Now after a year and a half approximately the same thing is happening. I cant afford to continue the repair bills and dont like the inconvenience (what if this happens when Im away from home?). The pool of water is substantial - its as though the defrost is simply emptying through the front of the freezer onto my floor.

I see online numerous people have experienced this same problem. It appears to be a design defect. Made another call to Whirlpool today. I first want to begin by saying that we have been a Whirlpool family for years. I now own a Whirlpool microwave, hot water heater, washer/dryer, Jenn-Air stove and dishwasher. My problem now is with the Cabrio Washer purchased in 2008. I started having problems in 2011 and the same problem has raised its ugly head again. When I try to use the Clean cycle, it starts at a 60-minute cycle and goes down to a 2-minute cycle in 3 minutes without cleaning or even running water into the tub. This time, it made a terrible noise and stopped. The tub was replaced in July 2011 after having the same complaint as above. The repairman said that the mechanism on the tub to fit into the spinning cycle is made of plastic and is not holding up. Also, in March 2012, a new control board was installed. I spoke to Whirlpool Customer Service and they informed me that they did not have any other complaints about the Clean cycle and that I should call the repairman. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty. I vote a thumbs down on the Cabrio washer.

Microwave Hood Combination...moisture sensor failed...potato caught on fire. Service company Whirlpool sent failed to show (Whirlpool selected a repair shop over 100 miles away). 2nd service company told me sensor failed and they would return with new part (ignoring the fact the white microwave was not gray and black) in a few days. If I wanted a new microwave without the dust and ash, I had to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool is ALWAYS experiencing a high volume of calls.Whirlpool states 7 - 14 days (unit on back order of course) for the microwave will arrive. 21 days later..no microwave. More high volume of calls... Whirpool state a repair center has received the microwave on July 31st and should have called me. Said repair center has no record of this transaction. Whirlpool reps claim to have records of my claim...but... they keep asking did we tell you it had been handled? I say read my file... Customer rep says my file is hard to understand (i.e. it is long). But they assure me they are empowered to help me. Maybe they should look up that word.Today...it is not Whirlpool customer service fault! No... It is being handled by a Product Replacement Specialist... Sadly they cannot provide me with any contact info for that Specialist. Empowered but not informed! Lesson: Whirlpool dont buy or if you do... and it catches on fire...just buy a new one... Bought this microwave combo oven from Lowes. Went to change the charcoal filters, as specified by the owners manual, and the top cover and the side cover fell apart when I removed the filter cover screws. After two appointments the service tech came out for about 5 minutes to tell me that only mechanical failure is covered by the extended warranty which I also purchased from Lowes. The problem with Whirlpool is that they make the top cover, and some other parts, with cheap thin plastic which crumbles when exposed to heat. The repair tech said, Dont worry. Ill see what I can do. And then he left. Actually the warranty booklet said wear and tear is covered in addition to mechanical failure. Its inexplicable to me why any manufacturer would use cheap plastic for an over the range product. And I intend to fight this until I get this appliance repaired under warranty.

I installed my new water heater in 2012. Within 3 months, it was not producing hot water. When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.

Started researching online about a week ago because my dryer was making an awful noise. Found out that the new idler pulley system the company used in my Whirlpool cabrio washer & dryer model (WED5500XW0) was so ineffective that they have since started replacing it with the old part #691366 they used to use. Also I am having a problem with my washer not spinning all of the water out of the clothes. Found out that this is a common problem with this model (WTW5500XW0).Had a certified repairman out to replace the dryer idler pulley system. He also calibrated the washer to see if that may help (it did not). The repairman said that some of the Whirlpool washers had been recalled and he had actually replaced some control panels and that seemed to work. He suggested that I contact Whirlpool. So I contacted Whirlpool, thinking that they obviously knew that there have been many problems with these machines (idler pulley part being discontinued & and recall on SOME models), and thought they would be more than willing to rectify this problem. Well think again! The two young ladies that I spoke with sounded like robots, Unfortunately, you are not within your 1 year manufacturers warranty so there would be nothing we could do at this time. Although I must tell you, the second young lady I spoke with did offer to sell me a new washer at a deep discounted price of $386 (which is only $86 more than fixing the washer). I think everyone who has a problem should contact Whirlpool and express this dissatisfaction. And if you are shopping for a washer and dryer, stay away from Whirlpool because their customer service is disheartening.

Washer, barely 6 months old, purchased at Lowes. While my washer cleans and I am happy with it, my washer started making loud noises during the spin cycle. I called Lowes warranty service approx 9/26/13; tech scheduled for 10/8, over a week later. Diagnosis: stripped bearings; total bearings and all tub components must be replaced. Parts ordered to be delivered to my door. Cost of washer: approx $800. Cost of parts: over $1600. Washer cannot be replaced until they have attempted to fix it at least 3 times. Repairman returns on 10/18 to repair. Oops, large plastic tub component shipped broken from manufacturer. Reorder parts for repair on 10/29. Finally a repair BUT A&E left the large tub part saying they had no room to take the part. So now Lowes is trying to arrange to dispose of the huge part sitting in my home. I live in a condo so the part cannot be disposed of in our facility. This has been a nightmare to fix and while customer service was cordial, they were totally unable to provide what is considered excellent customer service. So whose fault is it? I have missed several hours of work to try to get this taken care of. I spent money visiting a laundromat for over a month. I am the customer and guess what that means? Nothing! Now my concern is getting that large part out of my home and whether to buy an extended warranty OR just throw it out if it breaks. Very dissatisfied customer! And no the warranty for this major part overhaul is not a year from installation..... my warranty still starts the day of purchase. Are you serious? My advice: ask your friends about their appliances & esp service if they received it.

About six years ago we purchased a matching Whirlpool HE washer and dryer from Lowes. Because of some previous issues we had had with a dishwasher we had bought, and at the direction of a repairman, we bought the 4 year extended warranty when we bought the washing machine and dryer. Thank heavens!!! About 3 months after the manufacturers warranty expired, I began to have issues with the washer. Again, thank heavens I had purchased the warranty through Lowes because after 6 visits from the repairman to fix one problem after another, Lowes finally junked the machine and said it was no longer cost effective to try to repair it. I was SO frustrated! And, attempts to contact Whirlpool regarding the issues were COMPLETELY useless!!! Thinking it was just a fluke, I replaced the broken washer with another exact model (I know, I know... should have done my homework!).This time, after replacing the motherboard within two months of owning the new machine, the machine began to work fine, and washed great! Again, I thought I had just gotten a lemon with the previous machine. But, here we are 4 years into owning the new one, and it has completely quit working. Clothes smelled like mildew despite cleaning the machine as recommended. So, I called out a repairman, he said the transmission had gone out and it would be cheaper to just replace the machine. What?? I spent almost $700 on it only 4 years ago! When I told him this, his response was that he had seen repeated problems with this machine and felt like they were disposable washing machines that you had to figure would only last a few years before having to be replaced. Again, WHAT??I dont know about everyone else, but I dont have $700 to throw around every 3-4 years to replace new appliances because the manufacturers cant/wont make a better product. We had owned a Whirlpool dishwasher, and it had all kinds of problems too. So, once again, I contacted Whirlpool about the washing machine and got nowhere!!! SO disappointing!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have EVER seen!!! On hold forever, only to talk to a customer service rep who not only sounds bored to death with their job, but certainly less than sympathetic (probably from having to field questions all day long about the poor quality of the product), and less than helpful because Whirlpool has no desire to fix the issues. Needless to say, I will NEVER own another Whirlpool appliance again! SO disappointed!!!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer in 2005. After CONTINUED issues with the washer during & after extended warranty, we decided to replace it in 2011. Im not a fan of mismatched sets, so we also replaced the the dryer. After researching the WP Cabrio, we assumed that model was a fluke and reluctantly replaced with the Whirlpool Duet Set. Nearing our warranty expiration, our new washer has stalled for the 3rd time. Sears customer service has been absolutely dreadful since day 1. Original delivery was scheduled incorrectly, so we ended up picking it up. We then spent the next 3 months trying to get our military discount credited back. They promised at time of purchase it would be credited automatically. After 2 hours wasted on the phone today, we are still without a working washer.. or even a date as to when it will be repaired. I was appalled at the condescending phone conversation I had with Sears rep. When service showed up last week, he knew immediately that 1 part was missing. He replaced the other 2 parts, and assured me hed rush the 3rd part and come back out today. Had I not called, we would be receiving a phone call on Friday to say our part was backordered and not available until June. After a long and frustrating conversation, I was told we could have a courtesy $25 max a week for laundry, with a max of $100 per year. I was also told that it wasnt Sears fault the part wasnt ordered when I called the 1st time, and so the 21 day wait period didnt start until the service man caught the mistake. If we hit 21 days from that date, they supposedly will do some sort of swap. I have confirmed with WP that the part is on back order, and frankly they didnt do anything either.. but the rep was much more apologetic. They couldnt do much because our warranty is through Sears and not them directly. My great niece is coming in 2 weeks for the 1st time since she was put on hospice, and I will be without a washer to clean her cloth diapers. She is on a very specific diet and has a feeding tube, so I will have to waste time hand washing clothes instead of savoring her visit. I will never shop at SEARS again. They have continued to go downhill with all the corporate changes. I left the corporate world a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that Sears doesnt take no or sorry from their vendors. Im very upset and intend to take this to another level, which I rarely do.

I called the Whirlpool help line and was advised to change the thermocouple as they had been having issues with this particular model. I was advised to go to Lowes, where we had purchased the heater, to get a new thermocouple at no charge to us. After changing the thermocouple, guess what? It still didnt work. I went back to Lowes and they replaced the heater, at no charge to us (they were great during this whole ordeal so no knocks against Lowes). Well, one year later, it’s the same issue. The pilot light will not stay lit. It’s very frustrating as it never goes out at an opportune time. In the past, the name Whirlpool ensured you were getting a quality product. I guess that’s not true anymore.

I purchased the Cabrio washer/dryer in 2006. We have had it repaired 6 times and I even purchased a two year extended warranty after having issues with it the first year. Now I seem to be in the same boat. The washer will not spin and drain. This has already been looked at by a technician several months ago. I feel like this product is faulty and has not worked properly from the start. Are there lemon laws for appliances? It seems that this product would qualify. I will never purchase Whirlpool again.

I purchased a Whirlpool front loader as well as an extended warranty. The machine worked well for about a year and a half until i noticed rust patches beginning to form on the front of the machine. We contacted the retailer that we purchased it from and they suggested that we call the people that we had bought the warranty from. Unfortunately, the warranty does not cover rust, so we have to wait for it to rust out and just buy another one. It is only 2 and a half years old and is totally rusted across the front of the machine! It is extremely unsightly. This is the second Whirlpool washer that we have bought and the second one to rust out on us. I would never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and extended warranties are not worth the paper they are written on, let alone the amount that you pay for them!

On 5/8/2020 the ice maker quit working again...I called Whirlpool Customer eXperience Center, 1-800-253-1301. Had I purchased an extended warranty, it would have expired 3/31/2020. No one will come and fix or replace the ice maker at my expense, because of COVID-19. So, we purchased our $1,999.02 Whirlpool that does not make ice!! They replaced the two and debited a cost of Rs.1500.

Per repairman, this is a common problem with this model which theyll come out and fix (remove ice and run hot water done drain line for a cost nearly $150) but it will happen again and again, etc. I cant tell you how many times weve had to perform this task. I purchased a Whirlpool (Cabrio) Washer on March 1 2018. I previously had a Roper top loader with an agitator that was 22 years old. I used that washer for that many years and washed clothes 6 out of the 7 days of the week. Probably at least 20 loads a week. I never had a problem with it getting my clothes wet & clean. It never left them dirtier after washing them than they were before washing them. I am so disappointed in this washer!!! I can see it will not do any good to complain to Whirlpool because apparently they dont care about their customers. They think theyre products are perfect when they are far from it. I plainly told the associate I wash clothes every day. Really dirt clothes. (My son is a mechanic). I need a good washer. I can wash them by hand better than this washer does. I am very thankful I have not paid the full price for this washer yet. I will be calling them to come pick it up when my next payment is due. I will be going to one of the local consignment or thrift stores and purchasing myself an old timey top loader washer with an agitator for $100 or less. Whirlpool I had high hopes with this product and would have been buying a dryer to match soon but I believe I will stick to my Roper products or anything other than Whirlpool.

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

The one star is just for the oven, which is still working. I have a microwave and oven combo and the microwave is used occasionally for popcorn or to reheat the food. Soon, it stopped warming up. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.

Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.

My complaint is basically the same as all the others. Clothes do not come clean in my brand new Whirlpool washer. Ive had two other Whirlpools, and they were fine. This one, however, is a piece of junk. One of the main problems is that the washer is designed to use only lukewarm water, even on the hot setting, it does not use hot water. Another problem is too little water. Another irritating factor is the constant locking of the lid. Another problem is the constant starting and stopping of the agitator. This cannot be good for the motor. Im at the point of giving away my new washer which Ive had for exactly one week. This is a totally inferior product, and I feel that I have been really ripped off.

My Whirpool refrigerator model # WRF990SLAM01 was 14 months old (2 months past the new product warranty) when we started having issues with multiple areas. The ice machine stopped making ice and started dripping from the dispenser and the freezer stopped freezing food. I called and was told to purchase an extended warranty which cost me $375.00. The service tech has been to my house 12 times over the last 9 months. They have replaced multiple parts and even started replacing parts a second time. I was instructed by the service tech to call and request a replacement fridge. Whirlpool customer service told me that it would have to be considered a lemon before they replaced the product. I was told that would require each component to be replaced 3 times. I would need to take off work 27 more times for the repairs!!! The service tech came out one more time and he said there was nothing else he could do. I called again to complain and even wrote to Whirlpool corporation (though they never called me back at my request). After much complaining, which I do not normally do, they have decided to replace the unit. BUT I have to pay and additional $476.29 for them to replace this unit!!! I feel like I was totally raked over the coals from this company. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again and I recommend you do not either.

Will never buy another Whirlpool/GE product again. Nothing but problems. Paid $1700 for a Whirlpool/goldstar refrigerator 2 years ago. Problems from the start with slide-out shelf cracking, evaporator fan burnt out within 2 years, digital display cannot read anymore. Now have another problem again - not cooling. Going to the trash. No wonder your stock price have dropped. I would sell off to. Whirlpool/GE have been going down hill for the last 5 years. Maybe more. Cheap products, do reflect, it just a matter of time, I would think you would address these issues in your product line, but it shows your company is all about profits instead of quality of products. My double ovens were locked and I could not open them. A repair man came, undid the latch, but did not have the replacement part. He ordered it and came back two weeks later to replace the latch. I paid the required $159.00 for the service call. In the meantime, I could use the bottom oven without any problem. He replaced the latch and discovered it was defective. In removing it, he damaged the ribbon in the control panel. He came back and put in a new latch, but now neither of the ovens would work because the control panel was inoperative. An attempt was made to order the control panel, but the control panel is no longer made. Instead, an attempt was made to repair the control panel. This took 4 weeks, and meant that I did not have an oven for Thanksgiving and had to totally rearrange my plans. Now I am told that the panel is not fixable and the best they can do is offer me a prorate on a new oven in which I would be charged $1374.00. I find this outrageous. Except for the latch, an easily repaired mechanical problem, the ovens were in excellent working order. Now I am being told that due to the problem caused by their repair person, I must pay $1374.00. I spoke to Stephen **, their customer service supervisor, who said that I have no further recourse with the company and there is no one else I can speak to regarding this problem.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRX9885IBM01 French Doors - We purchased this $2,000+ dollar refrigerator in December of 2014 and within two weeks of plugging it in, we noticed the freezer drawer was crooked and ice crystals in the freezer compartment. We contacted Whirlpool re the matter and they dispatched a local serviceman. He informed us that the inner lining of the refrigerator was crooked and he contacted Whirlpool. He sent pictures of the crooked drawers and was advised by Whirlpool to adjust the outside door, but nothing could be done for the inside crookedness and that he was to take silicone and seal the refrigerator to prevent air coming in to create the ice... Really? We told him that was merely a Band-Aid to the problems and we wanted a replacement. According to Whirlpool, they can only service our month old refrigerator and cannot replace it.Actually, they cannot even service the defective product they sell, they can only caulk the problem until it comes again. NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy..
Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool fridge. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going downhill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the fridge up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers Customer Service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore, I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, while, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer, besides, I had an older Whirlpool fridge that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP, when I tried to upgrade the old fridge - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer from a local appliance store in May 2009. I also purchased a 60-month extended warranty covering the washer until May 2015. I was shocked when I tried to use the washer today (May 16, 2012) and it would not turn on. I called the repair facility the appliance store supplied as the warranty repair facility, only to be shocked again. I was told the appliance store suddenly went out of business and my ($130) extended warranty was no longer in effect and I would have to pay for repair out of my pocket. I then called Whirlpool knowing they would stand behind their faulty $740, 3-year old washer. They told me there was nothing they could do because the one year warranty they offered was over. I had a repair person look at the washer and he told me a control board had to be replaced and the repair would cost at least $550. I told him I was just going to buy a new washer. I had not been happy with the washer from day one and was very sorry I had purchased it. It did not wash the clothes very well. Also, I had a musty/moldy smell in my basement that would not go away no matter how much I cleaned. The repairman told me today that the smell is coming from the washer. I just cant believe I am out almost $1,000 and there is nothing I can do about it. After reading the many reviews on this website about Whirlpool appliances, I am sure they will not be in business much longer. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to consumers like myself especially in todays economy. Is there anything that can be done about this?

The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying.
