Front load washer Whirlpool Model# WFW9400SW02, only had this machine for about five years and the main interface control board has gone bad. This part cost 1/2 as much as buying a new machine. My parents had the same washing machine for almost 30 years and no problems. Whats wrong with this picture?

I purchased a Cabrio Platinum 4.6 top-loading washer with model number WTW8240YW0 in January of 2013. My machine has a consistent/re-occurring problem of not rinsing the clothes well. After multiple washings, including the extra rinse, my dark clothing still come out with lint, dog hair, dirt and white residue all over them. I have already checked to see if the hot/cold hoses might have been crossed. I also checked for water pressure to see if water is exiting the machine properly. It is still under warranty, and I have scheduled for a repairman. However, I will most likely return the washer to Lowes.

We called to have refrigerator repaired. We had to wait for 6 weeks get repair people to come. They looked, made guess, left, no repair. Said someone else would have to do it. No date/time frame. Houlka appliance, is that the only repair place in ms? No happy/hate lowes appliances, not impressed with whirlpool warranty system. And yes I have all the original receipts for the warranty.

I paid $1246 for a Whirlpool glass top range. This was not a cheap model, but I wanted it as the starting point of my new kitchen. After only about a year, we noticed that the area surrounding the operation controls was turning a funny color. On closer inspection, we noticed what appeared to be something peeling off, it was paint! The area surrounding the controls, which appeared to be brushed metal, was actually painted plastic! I was furious that an appliance at this cost level was made of plastic....really, a stove top made of painted plastic? I complained and after a huge fuss they agreed to come out and replace it ONCE. Well its been just over a year since they replaced it, and guess what? It is peeling off again!I dont know what to do, as Whirlpool obviously has gone the cheap end and doesnt want to fix problems. As others have mentioned, they say that it is JUST cosmetic, and they wont cover it under warranty...now my first new appliance for my first new kitchen since 1972 looks like crap! I should have kept my old avocado green appliances - they lasted over 40 years, still worked, and still looked good (except they were green). I wont ever buy another Whirlpool appliance. For those who mentioned that their appliance would turn on unexpectedly, please check recalls....this is one of the major problems on recall. Buyer beware!!!!

Purchased the Gold Series Dishwasher Model No: WDF730PAYM0 Serial No: F14403489 on Dec 2011, started using it from Jan 2012. All is good until June 2014. It started leaking from the bottom, called Whirlpool - the great bad company. Since it is not under warranty they asked to schedule an appointment with their local authorized rip off service company. Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. Ended up trashing the 2.5 year old dishwasher for the new GE dishwasher. Never buy a Whirlpool ever again even on sale. Whirlpool company is not ethical and not ready to help consumer, would love to see them close their operation in America.

I bought my Whirlpool refrigerator model #ed5fvgxws07 in Oct. 2011. One year seven months later, I am experiencing my 1st breakdown. The refrigerator side is failing to cool. I have replaced the temp control thermostat and I am waiting to see if this fixes the problem. I have researched and checked the other possible problems and it is unlikely that it is a defrost fail as there is no frost build-up in the freezer section. And, I checked the heater element and there is continuity through the element. If this does not fix the problem, I believe that there is one other possible solution. I dont have $300.00 to give to an appliance repairman. Maybe I should give it a rap on the side as one other customer said a repair person did to make it work for a few more weeks.

My two-year old Whirlpool Duet Front Load washing machine is ripping my familys clothes. When I went online and saw all the other customers with the same issue, I contacted Whirlpool. Although the contact said that he knew I was frustrated, he could do nothing but send a repairman at a cost of $129 for me and then I would also have to pay for parts. I informed him that the online sites are saying that this is just a temporary fix. He pleaded ignorance and could offer me no other alternative. This is the last Whirlpool or Maytag product we will ever buy... and letting others know about the lack of cooperation.

Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner
Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner plates are not cleaned. The flatware holders that are set in the door (instead of free-standing in a rack) do not have adequate holes in the holders and are too far away from the limited jets to get adequate soap and water to cleanse the flatware. Even after rinsing all scraps off the plates and flatware, we find bits of food, gravy, or smudges on the plates and flatware - since its first usage. The manufacturer had the audacity to claim that was normal. Settings include delayed starting, heavy duty versus normal washing, and different types of drying. The heavy duty washing is definitely poor quality, and there seems to be no difference between any of the drying settings. The delayed start is nice. The physical layout of the prongs on the racks and the folding racks do not allow easy fit for most sizes of pots plus plates on the same bottom rack. I cannot put a 1 gallon pot level on the same rack as dinner plates. I must put it beside salad plates. Only small sauce pans fit neatly or cleanly beside dinner plates. Yet the external dimensions of this dishwasher are the same as the competitors standard size. Looks neat and is easy to clean. Also, the exterior does not show scratches. Actually, I cannot see where the exterior has any scratches. The service people were very little help. The Warranty said that after five (5) service calls the unit would be replaced. We made six (6) service calls, but we were told that we did NOT have six because if you called again within 90 days of a call, that was considered the same service call. That requires 450 days minimum to have five (5) qualified service calls, but that warranty was good for only 365 days!

Model # WMH 1163XVQ-1 manufactured 2010 however I purchased and installed it in July 2011. Noticed a small crack at the base of the handle about a year later. Within the past couple of weeks cracks are appearing everywhere including around the handle, the entire exterior frame as well as interior frame of the door. Neither my wife nor I slam the door or mishandle it to cause this damage. Called Whirlpool this week. Bottom line is that it would cost nearly as much to get a new door as to buy another microwave. This is an over the stove model. My previous microwave was GE and lasted over 15 years. Wont buy Whirlpool again.

I am also disappointed with this manufacturer. I recently purchased an over-the-range microwave oven model KHMS2056S. Within 45 days of use, it quit heating. I initially established a service call through Kitchenaids web site, with the first available weekend appointment approximately 2 weeks away. When the contracted service represented arrived (A&E), he asked me for a cup of water and placed it in the microwave, along with a temperature meter. After running the microwave for 45 seconds, he informed me that microwave was not heating. This was the extent of his troubleshooting, only to confirm what I had already reported in my initial service appointment description. The next step was to order parts and wait another 10-20 days for a new service appointment. When I challenged the technician on this, he stated that they were required to verify the problem and check the model/serial number of the appliance. But these were also provided through the automated service appointment system. Thanks to Lowes who allowed me to return the item, even though the purchase date was outside the 30-day window. It seemed obvious to me this warranty contractor was simply creating multiple service calls to inflate the repair costs. And ultimately the consumer pays this.

Purchased double range ovens. Enamel is flaking off within 2 years. Whirlpool denies defect. They wont replace it. Any other folks with similar problems? What can I do to have it replaced? I remember the old ovens and how the enamel just stayed and stayed and stayed. Never a rust or flaking issue in those old time models. Any expertise on how the enameling process may be compromised in the newer manufacturing process (cutting corners or costs). Any options for a class action here if a commonly experienced occurrence? If similar experience drops comments/review below as a one liner - just state enamel defect. That way can figure out the number of folks with issues. Id like to take action if given the opportunity, and more so if this is a common occurrence. Lawyers are costly for one-off complaints, but there is power in numbers (think United Airlines).

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

I purchased the front load washer 4 years ago and the board went bad in 2 years. It costs more to fix it than the washer is worth. Stupidly, I purchased the top loading Cabrio and it has gone downhill from there. Has always sounded like a jet taking off in the spin cycle. Then 18 months into the purchase, it started with grinding noises and load balance issues on the spin cycle. Seems like they have a lot of issues with these Cabrios. Spent a lot of money for nothing. Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. They told me, You are out of warranty, and thats all they have to say. Thats over a thousand dollars a year to own this POS when you consider taxes. Over $1250 a year when you consider the service calls along with it. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product ever again. I am disgusted by this company and their refusal to stand behind their product. They have literally stole money from me and are laughing about it. Do yourself a favor and stay far from Whirlpool.

We purchased this dishwasher in June 2014 while putting home back together
We purchased this dishwasher in June 2014 while putting home back together following fading of our home. Within 6 months of purchase the dishwasher was doing dry washes, and getting very hot touch. Whirlpool sent out repairman who replaced parts that had melted inside dishwasher and the control panel. This same thing happened 2 more times. A repairman came and repaired and replaced parts. In May 2016 it once again was running so hot that it burned hand when opened. Once again repaired but this time it started leaking from front dishwasher. When we talked to whirlpool they sent out repairman and assured us they would pay for any and all damage it had caused. They also replaced dishwasher with Maytag of our choice which they covered all cost. When installers pulled out the unit we learned the dishwasher had most likely been leaking the entire time, water damage up entire wall, cabinets ruined, countertops had been bubbling and separating from wall, floors ruined. We followed all instructions and had three contractors come to do estimates that were from 27,500-30,680. Whirlpool then sent outside adjuster because of cost. We have now received offer of 6700 and told we could take this or submit to our insurance company. Also we now have Mold in kitchen which they are aware of and we think the flooring is now rotting and breaking.

I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # WRF990SLAM00 in May of 2013. My wife started noticing ice build up on the ice maker in the refrigerator section of this French Door model. We had it serviced for the same problem 4 times and the problem still existed. At this point, Whirlpool offer to give us our money back, and here is where things got interesting. My wife spoke with a Sheila who was to issue a check to a third party company who would then pick up the refrigerator and give us the check. Sounds simple enough, huh? The company was to get the check in 7-10 business days so we bought a new refrigerator, a Samsung this time, and scheduled its delivery for the time frame we were told the non-functioning fridge would be picked up. My wife could not get in touch with Sheila, which was always a problem, and we talked to a Beth who told us that this whole process had not even been started yet. Well, we are having our new fridge delivered and still waiting on our check and for someone to come and pick up this American-made piece of crap! We wanted to buy American, but this is what we got, a piece of crap!!

Our Whirlpool gas hot water heater was purchased and installed (through Lowes) in April 2008. In February 2009, the thermostat failed. Because the failure happened less than a year after purchase, Whirlpool replaced the part and paid for labor. The hot water heater failed again three weeks ago, and we contacted Whirlpool. We were once again provided with another thermostat, and were charged $135.00 by a plumber to install it (even though the customer service rep stated that there were known issues with this tank model). The tank is still not working properly. We (with our tenants) have tried troubleshooting according to their instructions, to no avail. It has been three weeks now, and no resolution. The heater has a six-year warranty. Not sure what this means if the product is defective to begin with. We pay to attempt to repair it?We will not be spending any more money on labor to install parts that may or may not work and have demanded that Whirlpool replace the heater. Whirlpool has refused to pay for any labor costs and told us that we must take the heater back to Lowes. So I suppose that means we have to pay to have a 3 1/2 year old heater removed from the gas and water lines, transported to Lowes, and a new one installed. What a deal.Stay away from Whirlpool.

I apparently am one of the lucky ones to have an electric water heater. My unit started giving me failure codes during the Christmas holidays. Each time it would fail, I would get a different failure code indicating the upper element, the lower element, and a sensor failure. After testing all 3 of these components, it was determined to be a controller issue. After speaking with Chris on the phone, he overnighted a new controller to me. I installed the new controller and had no more failures. Hot showers for New Years! Thank you Chris.

We purchased the unit in March, by April it wasnt cooling. In June it shut down. In July after 8 tech appointments and repairs. Whirlpool finally said they would refund my purchase and I should see the money in about three weeks. That would be about a week longer than the refrigerator worked. I dont have the money to just get another one so I guess the family will be without a refrigerator for another month. That means shopping every day for perishable for a family of 10. I would not recommend another Whirlpool product. This is no joke, every time I called them one of the first things asked was Did you get the extended warranty? Why would they ask, sounds as if they dont trust their own product either. This unit was purchase online through Sears.com. Purchase price was $2299.99. Order placed on March 4, 2017.

I called customer service because my pilot light would not stay lit on my 2005 Whirlpool water heater. I was told that I needed to install the upgrade kit and that the water heater was malfunctioning because of a lack of air and that it needed to be cleaned at the bottom. I paid for the shipping of the kit although I believe it is called an upgrade or conversion kit versus a recall for this water heater to save money and to get the consumer to pay for replacing defective parts. A certified technician installed the kit but the pilot light would not remain lit. He replaced the thermocouple, although new parts had just been received. This did not help either. The technician and I called customer service, which didnt resolve the issue. I also asked for a manager who would only agree to send out another conversion kit. There are three years remaining on the warranty but I am being told to keep replacing new parts with new parts until it works. That is unacceptable. Also, I was not informed that my problem is a recurring problem with this Whirlpool water heater that I purchased at Lowes.

After 1 year, my fridges plastic interior wall/liner started cracking everywhere. One crack is right across the entire back wall; other smaller cracks are on the sides and back. Three fridge shelves literally fell apart: pieces fell off! The glue came undone on the sides of the shelf that hold the glass in. Pieces of the shelf itself were falling out of the fridge. The microwave door has plastic trim around the glass on the door, and it is cracking also. It seems that anything that was made Whirlpool and is plastic is cracking and/or disintegrating. Sears caulked the cracks in the fridge and is replacing the shelves, but nothing is being done about the microwave. Whirlpool said, Too bad. Go to Sears. We may have made the product, but Sears is responsible. And Sears is saying Too bad; weve done all we can.

This refrigerator (French Door Refrigerator Model: WRF757SDEM) has been problematic since day one. The ice dispenser sends crushed ice all over the kitchen floor. The temperature in the upper 3/4 of the storage area and on the door is 57 degrees (it should be between 36 and 40 degrees). The item was purchased at Best Buy on October, 2016. It is still under warranty. I have had several visits by repair people and so far no fix. My friends call it a crockerator, since you can freeze food in the freezer and slowly cook food in the refrigerator section. I tried twice to get Whirlpool to pick up this thing, but so far no go. DO NOT EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR! They used to make good products, but no longer do.

If you ever bought something from the store and the sales person said dont worry about, if you have any problems they will go ahead and fix it.... BEWARE... I purchased my fridge from BrandsMart USA in Feb of this year.... It was approx 2500.000 fridge we bought because it matched the rest of the appliances. Little did we know this has been a living nightmare. They have been out to the house 7 times to fix this thing. Its less than 8 months old.... and its still broken. I have been without a fridge going on 2 1/2 weeks. The Senior Customer product review supervisor said he would get me a new fridge that was on the 27th. Every time I call him, his voice mail is full of.... Only to assume that is full of other satisfied customers. I HOPE YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD. What a waste of $2500.00.

Oven was just about 3 years old when the oven bake feature failed the first of many times! Display says fault detected. Was able to get oven cleaning done and then it worked again but eventually has failed repeatedly since. Further reading and support from technicians has revealed its an oven control issue and replacement part is same cost as new oven! Apparently the oven control Whirlpool designed and installed cant handle heat!?? Very unreliable and would never buy their appliances again!

I purchased the fridge 2nd hand in 2013. It was 10 years old at the time. It is still going strong & I purchased it because it has a frost-free freezer that never needs de-frosting and I love the features & size - its the PERFECT FRIDGE. What I look for in a fridge is its colour - I like metal, steel grey colour. I go for reputation & quality. Frost free is the biggest factor that determines my purchases, long-term (10-year min.) warranty & guarantee, size.

Replacing my crappy Whirlpool gold refrigerator right now too. Hoping LG will be better. Already replaced my Whirlpool dishwasher. Went to Maytag. This company has gone downhill. I purchased Whirlpool Slide-In 30 Gas SS Conventional Range. Terrible product quality. After about three years of use, the range shows an error message cooling fan is too low. I wasnt able to use the oven. Abt Services came in to do the repair. One month after the cooling fan was installed, the same message came up again. When Abt Services replaced the cooling fan again, the display was completely out. The cost of the repair parts is over $800. Are you kidding me! I paid $1500 for the range. Now I need to pay $800 to repair. Whirlpool didnt offer any discount for repairing the defective product but offered purchase similar product at a discount price. I bought my house brand new with all new Whirlpool Gold Series appliances. About a year and a half from purchase date, I started having issues with my fridge, then my dryer, then my washer, then my fridge again and that lasted about 5 months, then my microwave and my dishwasher. My microwave stopped working in January. It’s now April and I still do not have a new one. It keeps getting lost or shipped to the wrong address or something. Every time I call, the representatives don’t know how to look it up. I wind up on hold for at least 30 minutes, and I get transferred to at least 3 different people. I hope my last appliance doesnt break because I’m over Whirlpool, and I will never buy another appliance from them again.

I too experience all the other complaints on this site as well, stuff still left on clothes, dry spots, stains not removed after being pretreated etc. I did some research before buying this set and saw some good reviews, dont know who wrote them but obviously they were highly inaccurate. Help? WP Gold double convection wall ovens WOD93EC0AS rated very high by Consumer Reports installed end of February. Monday April 6, fan in top convection oven came on suddenly while oven not on. When I tried setting a baking temperature in top oven to see what was going on, message read This function is not available. After about 15 minutes the fan went off, and I could use the oven. Worked well Tuesday and Wednesday. Oven not used again this week, but this evening, Friday, same thing happened again. Process has been repeated several times with fewer times between fan turn on. Have turned off power to ovens until I can get a repairman. Has anyone else had this experience or know what the problem is. Have been reading about the problems with WP ovens. Wondering if I need in addition to Home Depot Warranty the one from Whirlpool as well. Had Bosch convection ovens for 12 years then self-cleaned and thermostats went out and cannot be replaced because parts no longer made or available through any supplier. Said I would not buy Bosch ovens again because the parts became unavailable even sooner. What a mistake. Apparently self-cleaning element blows a lot of ovens thermostats and/or circuit boards. Loved the ovens and had only one repair after the ovens were one or two years old. The Bosch dishwasher is same age and still working great and usually cant even tell it is on.

I am so bummed that this fridge died. It was perfect in size and function and appearance. I didnt use the ice maker. Within the first year, the temps were erratic, freezing in the fridge area at the rec. setting and too warm when I lowered it. Finally the compressor gave in at 19 months. Of course, out of warranty. HOWEVER, my credit card, VISA, added a year of warranty and is paying the full amt for replacement. Now I have no idea what to get. Every brand, American or Japanese is not made to last. I regret getting rid of my old dependable avocado fridge, thats how hard it is to feel confident to make a good next purchase. Whirlpool Cabrio - Clothes come out of the washer wrinkled, twisted and soap stained. I use the exact soap products they recommend in the proper amounts. Bought them in September of 2014. Wish I could return them. Too low of a water level that cannot be adjusted. Not fully rinsing the soap out of the clothes. Washing takes twice as long as with my former 25 year old washer. Dryer is new technology and energy efficient yet wont remove wrinkles from permanent press clothes.Uses hardly any water so clothes must be rinsed at least one or two times to get the soap spots off. Clothes always come out extremely wrinkled. Not all items can be put in the dryer so ironing is back in my life again. Some items come out so twisted and wrinkled that ironing wont even help. Dryer isnt much better at all and shirts and pants always have some wrinkles. Have had to bring some items to the dry cleaners to bring them back to a non wrinkled state. Whatever is saved in water and energy is more than made up by ironing and dry cleaning. The company representatives have sent service people out twice and they both said that the machines are performing as they were intended to. I do smaller washes and wash more often to try to get better results. I dont. Even though it is extra large capacity items such as blankets must be washed more than once as the water does not wet the entire blanket.

We bought this washer on 9/05/09. Recently, it sprung a leak due to a worn out seal that the repairman said would cost more to fix than just getting another washer. You would think this might be cause for distress, but I literally jumped in the air and clicked my heels with joy! This washer has been nothing but a pain. First of all, I have to pre-soak every load before washing or the clothes come out just as dirty as they went in. I would set the timer on my stove to let me know when the 40 min soak cycle ended so I could change it to wash. Then I reset the timer for another 40 minutes. I also learned the hard way, that using any kind of heavy duty setting would turn towels into a pile of yarn. This washer cost $998, and guilt is the only reason I didnt replace it years ago. Ding Dong the washer is DEAD!!!

I have had a plumbing company work on my Whirlpool water heater three times in the last two months. On the third visit, he told me all the problems customers have had with Whirlpool water heaters. I decided to call Whirlpool for warranty purposes. The unit is three years old. I was told that it was the gas valve, and I was given a free one from Lowes. After installing the new valve, it still did not work properly. After troubleshooting with a technician, I was told it was the orifice. I have had to do all the labor myself, and I dont know how long this is going to go on. I have heard Whirlpool will continue to give you the runaround (from the plumbing company and Lowes salesmen) and will continue to give you the runaround and not replace the unit. They are wearing me down. I have been without hot water for three weeks with no end in sight. I am ready to give up and just buy another water heater but certainly not a Whirlpool.

Very disappointed with this refrigerator. Not even 10 years old and we have had it repaired 2 times plus my husband had to dismantle ice maker and take the back off inside of the freezer, using the blow dryer to thaw out the tube and manually blow in a tube to open the drain. The water leaking to the bottom of the fridge and into cold meat drawer and fruit keeper drawer. It eventually runs onto the floor if I dont catch it. This has been an ongoing problem for 6 years now. Today was another bill to the repairman for this problem. Very disgusted. This time he only thawed it out, the time before he replaced a part and thawed it out. I know he will be back because thawing is only a temporary fix because my husband did this numerous times, like every couple of months. Never again will I buy a Whirlpool refrigerator! I gave my daughter my old refrigerator and its over 20 years old and never had a repair! My current refrigerator is Model # ETICHMXKB03 with ice maker. Top freezer.

I had new transmission put on, still wont agitate and smells hot. The washer is only 18 months old, well taken care of. This expensive hunk of junk is worthless and the aggravation for all this mess is worse. I called Whirlpool 2 times. The first time, I got a call with the standard oh so sorry bit. Oh boy, that gets the washer fixed. Not. I blasted them and Lowes again. I have had it with this mess. The repairman is supposed to contact Lowes a week ago for replacement. He has done zero. I purchased this machine in April 2011. Adequate performance until this past fall. It did not drain properly and began to smell, then stopped working. I called a local certified repairman who discovered an item of clothing trapped beneath the basket blocking the drain pump. $109.00. Less than 2 months later it happened again. The repairman returned and again found a blocked drive shaft under the basket. $109.00. When it happened a third time I called the Whirlpool repair line. A serviceman was sent out and immediately knew what the problem was (prior experience). He removed the basket and once again there was an article of clothing under the basket, blocking the drain pump - $129.00. At this moment it is beginning to smell again. I spent 40 minutes on the phone this morning with Sears and Whirlpool. No help whatsoever. This machine is not even 3 years old. I never overload it and clean it regularly. Bought this machine in Feb 2007 as a pair Whirlpool Cabrio. I loved it for almost two years. The control board went out, Whirlpool replaced it. A couple of weeks later, the F-1 codes started then the F-51 codes. On July of 10, it was code after code. It sounded like a jet taking off and constant unbalanced load. I called repairman and was told to go buy new machine as repairs would start at $500 and since I live in a rural area, no one wanted to waste their time. Two repair techs told me point blank they wouldnt even touch it. We paid $1000 for this machine and we live pay check to pay check. I spent four months trying to get Whirlpool to do something. I kept getting told I should have bought extended warranty. Machine has been sitting under stairs for over year waiting to see if class action or recall can be done. Also when control board was replaced, the repair man told me it was rusting away from the inside out. My husband had to find us a used washer and this thing has done nothing but cost us money. So much for efficiency. Everyone posting here also needs to go to Whirlpools Facebook page and post there.

The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.

Although we live in Canada, we purchased our slide-in oven at Sears Roebuck
Although we live in Canada, we purchased our slide-in oven at Sears Roebuck in Buffalo, NY only because of the size availability only in the US (actually, the unit was manufactured in Canada as we found out later!). Obviously, this created another problem since the unit was not underwritten by Canadian Electric codes, Sears Canada repair would not touch it! Once installed, it worked great until the first problem with the oven quitting after self-cleaning. It is the second time in 3 years that both the thermostat and the sensor went in this RBS245 slide-in oven. Once the self-clean cycle completes (quite smelly!) and cools, the oven does not operate rendering the oven useless. First time, in 2009, Sears repair only suggested (since they would not do repair on it for reasons stated above) which parts could be faulty: Timer, sensor, thermostat or elements. It was thought to be the electronic timer unit, which was replaced at a $215 (needlessly) because that was OK. Both thermostat and sensor cost $150. Even the elements were replaced, $52. The second time, just a week ago, exactly the same happened. I replaced the 2 items: Sensor and thermostat at a cost of $154 and the oven worked fine again. I called both Whirlpool US and Canada, but no one could/would give any answers why this happens. So far, it cost $600 in parts to repair! This is nonsense from a company that has had good reputation and record. Obviously, that is changing! If Whirlpool cannot engineer a product that works as they say it does, they should close the shop! Reading here, there are others who complained with the same problem. It is time for Whirlpool to come clean!

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? Bought this washer/dryer set Jan 2020. No agitator but has nubs in the bottom. Huge washbasin that will have 5” water in the bottom. I watched the was cycle and my Nursing scrubs NEVER went underwater...ever. Yes, we made sure the center was wide open and didn’t cover the center, at all. Filled the basin 1/3 full. My daughter’s sweaters had been rubbed together so aggressively in the basin they were unwearable because the knit was pulled and fuzzy. Looked like they were run over in the street. Soap never rinsed out of the clothes. Two daughters developed skin rashes. After I took my clothes to a commercial washer and rewashed them, no more rashes. My mom called Whirlpool. They tell us use NO MORE than one teaspoon laundry soap. LOL! There isn’t even enough water to get the clothes wet! Try Deep Water cycle... Got 6” of water. Load requires an hour and 15 minutes to wash!! Machine is outrageously loud. Now the dryer... Takes over an hour to dry clothes. Not towels or jeans..just cotton t-shirts, nurse scrubs, socks. Takes two dry cycles. Bottom line? Two and a half hours to get one load of clothes that have soap residue and aren’t clean. Whirlpool is aware. DO NOT BUY these! You will regret it!

Within two months i.e. in May 2016 of installation Whirlpool again uploaded/charged the gas (the service engineers told us this is due to hot summer). Though again we had a cooling issue, we were under the impression as this is due to summer as explained by the technician. After that rainy season came and we didnt use the ac.As we are in December when we complained Whirlpool they said this is due to the copper wire gas is leaking and it has to be replaced and informed that though under WARRANTY, the customer has to pay for replacement (we have used only the 3 mtr copper wire which came with the ac only. we have not used any our own copper wire). Whether WHIRLPOOL GIVES SUCH A QUALITY COPPER WIRE which has to be replaced within 9 months. Now they are informing that you are calling us after 6 months of gas charging, so we cannot service. If you could have called within 3 months we could have serviced you. BUT WE ARE UNDER WARRANTY. NOT EVEN AN YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.Not responding to calls, disconnecting to the calls even if we call their Delhi number 011-49308500. Though under warranty they are not ready to do service and very rude saying, we cant do anything. So, if we buy WHIRLPOOL ac we have to beg them even for their technicians to visit our place. Or we have to do our own service EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. Their local toll free customer care numbers/service executives always give a recorded message saying they cannot service. SUCH A PATHETIC SERVICE.

My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining
My Whirlpool refrigerator is more than a year old but have been complaining forever it seems. The serial # is 21142009, model WRT777REYWOO. All bottom cords etc. is out and 3 times I had people come out to fix and it never changed. The lettuce drawers freeze and in the freezer leaves ice cream pretty soft. I am so upset about this, and cannot afford a different one, no matter what brand because I paid around $1,000 for it and I am low income (my ss), 73, and disabled. But Whirlpool refrigerators are not worth buying if this is the standard policy to ignore their responsibility here. It leaks water from freezer to meat compartment, and I could go on but seems hopeless. My sister in Oregon had the same one and they took hers out finally so she could apply that amount to a different brand which has no problems.

Whirlpool Gold Fridge - For all the people who have water collecting at the bottom of their freezer... There is a plug in the drain pan underneath that needs to be removed. It comes that way from the factory. Thank God, I have a smart Hubby and Father-in-Law. I find it INSANE that these Repair people have not caught on or do they just want to keep billing for Service Calls.

I bought at Lowes. The first one was sent back (doors stuck, suction cracked lining). Now the temps are not working in the fridge or freezer. All the food got dumped. Its sad. My old one lasted closer to 25 yrs. (and may I add up to ten children). This one has only been used by adults. I thought I could trust Whirlpool?! I sent info to local Lowes. We will see if theres any help.

I always appreciated Whirlpool’s quality, but this brand new stove in my brand new home is a disappointment. The top, back (control panel) gets extremely hot when the oven is in use. The burners are not as easy to regulate, and the broiler (which is under the stove, a negative for me) didn’t come with a broiler pan. That was an additional cost. I had service out in the first 60 days because the oven wasn’t heating properly.

Most dissatisfying experience with Whirlpool. In 2013 I bought a stackable Whirlpool washer and dryer. Everything worked well for two months, and then the washer started having problems. The washer memory board unit (MBU) needed to be replaced. This was done under warranty. One and half years later I started getting the error F07 which means an electrical problem. I called Whirlpool and they told me a technician would cost $85 for a service call. I delayed the call until today. The technician came, did a diagnostic and then advised me that I would need a new MBU. The cost plus labour amounts to almost the cost of a brand new washer. To add insult to injury, Whirlpool advised the service call would cost $89. (They upped the price since my last call.) You can imagine my shock when the technician told me that the $89 covers the first 15 minutes. I paid $133.34 for one half hour diagnostic testing and to be told I need a new MBU which is on back order for at least 6 months!!! My recommendation is - NEVER BUY any Whirlpool product ever.

Purchased this washer in 2009 from Lowes, believing the hype that it was efficient. Since we only needed a Washer at the time, we overpaid (it is more cost effective when you buy both washer and dryer). So we paid $1000.00 for this machine (we purchased the stand as well). After the 1st year, there seemed to be a significant decrease in how fast the washer spun, as the clothes were coming out wetter. I didnt pay much attention, but 2 years later, the machine has a weird problem where it couldnt complete the cycle, and by this time, every time it Spun, the noise was louder and louder.I contact Whirlpool, placed a service call and the Technician came out. $225.00 later, there was a hose that was pinched that was sending a wrong signal to the washer. He fixed that and told me I should get a contract on the machine through Whirlpool since I seemed to be having problems. I purchased the contract, for $300.00, and 2 1/2 weeks later placed another service call, as the noise from the machine was happening every time I did laundry. The service guy came out, indicated that it seemed to be the Agitator, and that he would need to order parts, and that they had a SPECIALIST who only does this type of repair, since they have many! He also indicated that the hose may have crimped due to the movement of the entire agitator!Well, after not hearing from ANYONE for 2 weeks, I called the repair company who told me WHIRLPOOL was supposed to call and let me know that they would NOT fix the machine, as the parts cost more than the Washer, which is now valued at $500.00! No one from WHIRLPOOL EVER CALLED, and I cant understand how a $1000.00 Washing machine touted to be so efficient and environmentally friendly has been THROWN OUT after 3 years!!! And now I am out the $225.00 repair, have no washing machine, $1000.00 down the drain (and I forgot to mention a year later we bought the matching WHIRLPOOL DRYER and OVERPAID) and now have to purchase another machine, which I assure you WONT BE WHIRLPOOL! As most of us have experienced, WASHING MACHINES last for many years! The washer I had before this was over 20 years!!!! So much for efficient and environmentally friendly... The only thing GREEN about this machine is how much of my $$$ has gone to Whirlpool!

We had our microwave and stove delivered in October, 2015. We had 4 deliveries of the microwave. The first two were damaged, the third needed a new fan motor and the door was not straight. They wanted to send parts to fix but we could not see spending all that money for a brand new microwave to have parts put in. I complained a lot to both Whirlpool who would not replace it and ABC Warehouse who finally agreed to replace it with a brand new one. The 4th is good. (so far). Our stove has a flaw in the glass top, the drawer doesnt close properly, and there is a piece of metal sticking out from the lower right side of the oven door. ABC says they cannot do anything about it and Whirlpool says it is under a parts warranty so it has to be repaired. I even spoke to supervisor Kimberly at Whirlpool. Got same answer. We are very angry and disappointed. As I told the Kimberly, Whirlpool got every penny they asked for. We paid for brand new in perfect condition and got a stove that needs fixing. We will never recommend Whirlpool as a Company for appliances and based on all the negative reviews Ive read, neither will a lot of other people.

Purchased washer 01/20/2012 after prior bad experience with washer, purchased from Sears. The washer is two years old and began making an awful noise and quit spinning the clothes dry. I too have had problems with getting service and cant see spending $500.00 for repairs on a washer that cost me $653.81 to purchase. Whirlpool and Sears better take their head out of their bum before the completely decimate their customer base. Why arent these problems being fairly addressed? It says a lot that your original warranty is only a year and any additional warranty is cost prohibiting. Save yourself some money and frustration and buy the old fashioned top loaders with standard agitation. AND WHIRLPOOL CAN AND SHOULD BUY A VOWEL AND REALIZE THAT IF IT DOESNT WORK IT ISNT MORE EFFICIENT!!!

Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator model WRF560SEYM in June 2014. In February 2015 the ice maker had to be repaired because of a leak. Now in February of 2016 the ice maker and water dispenser are leaking. Because the warranty is one year, Im basically stuck with a refrigerator that sucks. Not only is the ice maker and water dispenser broken, the door sometimes doesnt shut properly and the shelving couldnt possibly be more cheaply made. This refrigerator is in a vacation home and has barely been used. I have purchased many Whirlpool appliances on the past and have never seen such poor quality in an appliance. The only thing Whirlpool can offer is sorry youre stuck!! No more Whirlpool for me!!

5 years and 11 months ago I bought a 50 gallon gas, Whirlpool hot water heater with a 6-year warranty from Lowes. The 2007 water heaters were on sale, so I paid $329 for it. Within 6 months, I replaced the gas valve, and a few months after that, the thermo-couple went out and I replace that. Each time I called Whirlpool and got return authorization numbers for the parts, I still ended up paying for the parts plus labor. A year after that, the igniter went out and I had that replaced. Last year (the day before Thanksgiving), the thermo-couple went out again and I had to have that replaced - and it cost me for the part plus the labor - even though I had a return authorization number. I also replaced the water line connections/hoses to the water heater at that time. The customer service rep for Whirlpool told me at that time if I had another problem with the water heater, they would replace it for free - and the warranty was good until Dec 31, 2013 (this year). NOTE: Every plumber that has come out to fix the water heater and replace the parts stated that they see a myriad of problems with Whirlpool water heaters. They said the parts like the thermo-couples, igniters, gas valves, etc are poorly built and they replace them all the time. On Christmas Eve 2013 (two days ago), the water heater started leaking from the top by the valves - and so much pressure had built up in the heater the new water hose connections burst, spewing water all over the heater closet. I called Whirlpool the day after Christmas (today). At first, they told me they would not replace the heater as it was not in warranty and then I told them what I was told by the service rep last year. She finally agreed that my heater is indeed under warranty and gave me a replacement authorization number but she told me my warranty did not cover labor. I called Lowes. At first, they told me I would have to remove the old hot water heater myself and bring it back to the store in order to get my replacement. I am a 59 year old woman and I take care of my brother, a disable veteran. Although I am in good shape and healthy, I dont have anyone to help me get the gas and water disconnected and help me lift it into my Suburban. The man at Lowes agreed to bring out the the replacement heater and pick up the old one at no charge, but I will still have to pay $299 plus the cost of new hoses to have it installed. By the time the replacement one is installed, I will have paid a little over $1200 for a $329 water heater. I could have installed a tankless one for that, but I cannot see spending that kind of money right after Christmas. If I have one issue with this replacement, I will install a tankless water heater - and it will not be made by Whirlpool or any of its affiliates. My recommendation would be to steer clear of Whirlpool and their products.

We bought this Whirlpool electric range in late July when our old stove literally blew up at breakfast. Unlike the local big stores, a small local store had this in stock. They assured us that the oven was self-cleaning. It is not self cleaning. It only cleans the bottom. We have spoken both to the local store and Whirlpool several times. The local store will do nothing. Whirlpool sent us a sponge and a plastic scraping stick. They told us to clean it BY HAND every time we used the oven and were very condescending. We are 75 and 77; we are not about to climb into an oven to attempt cleaning an oven that will not clean. Stay away from the Aqua Clean products like the plague. They do nothing, and Whirlpool will also do nothing. Next step -- court.

This washer is a piece of junk!! It doesnt use enough water to clean the clothes and now it wont spin them dry. I have maybe two loads a week on a regular basis. I have always used HE detergent. Never overload. It is only three years old and I have been having to go to the laundromat because I cant afford a service call and especially if it is what they say which costs almost much as the washer. Be ahead to buy a used washer or a cheap one. It wasnt getting the clothes spun out dry enough - dripping wet. Then it flashed od and ul and sd and f51 and then it kidnapped my clothes - couldnt get the door to unlock with the pause or power until I unplugged and still had to wait several minutes. They refuse to help. Do not buy this machine!!! The customer service was not one bit of help. Instead she wanted to charge me $350.00+ dollars for some plan.

I completely forgot that I wrote a review on our Whirlpool hot water heater model FG1H5040T3 Nov in 2010 until I received an email telling me how many people read my post. Surprise, Surprise guess what we are having problems with again. You know how nice it is to have hot water anytime you need or want it. Well, not at my house. The hot water heater worked for about a year (Im probably being nice with the time here). Heres our problem now, once the water heats up the pilot goes out. It will not stay on. Ive noticed that if its full the pilot light will not come on, so we have to run some water to be able to light it. Well I called customer service, a waste of time. The guy told me that my heaters warranty expired last year and his suggestion is to go buy another heater. REALLY! All I wanted to do was order a part for it. He did send me an article with suggestion of things to check. Sorry, we already did everything in the article, another waste of time. It seems we are not the only ones (model #) with problems with Whirlpool. Whirlpool used to make good products but its not anymore. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again.

I never knew an appliance could be manufactured as poorly as my brand-new, expensive, side-by-side whirlpool refrigerator. Within the first year, the icemaker line malfunction because of a fan problem, causing the line to freeze, break, and leak water everywhere. The ice maker stopped working. Everything on the top shelf In the refrigerator freezes. Everything on the bottom shelf stays warm. The motor is so loud and can be heard of rooms away. It is less than two years old now, and I am sincerely considering buying a new refrigerator altogether.

I bought a top of the line Whirlpool front load washing machine (WFW97HEDW0) and drier with my new construction house. After a few months the washing machine began making a loud, banging noise during the spin cycle. Then about a month before the 1 year was up the unit broke and dumped all the water in the drum into the catch pan it was installed on. I called for service and someone showed up in about 3 days. The tech opened the unit and found that the plastic/composite drum the spin unit was contained in split in half all the way around. The tech exclaimed he had never come across this issue and would report in what he found but that he did not have the part and it would most likely be a whole new unit but that its up to whirlpool to make the call. I would find out that whirlpool had decided that the unit can be fixed and they have ordered the part and would call to schedule the repair.A week went by, with no word. I called warranty service company, Via Services, and they tell me that the part is on back order and that it would be two more weeks before it would come in. Now were looking at being without a washing machine for a month. I communicate this to the builder and they somehow get whirlpool to come out a week earlier than they said they could. The day came for the repair and two techs take nearly 8 hours to repair the unit (how is this efficient?).After the repair the unit ran with an odd noise that I attributed to the way it was stacked. A month goes by and two days after the 30 day repair warranty I go to do a load of laundry and the unit turns on but wont run. I called for warranty work because it was clearly not repaired sufficiently. I schedule a tech visit which is for a week after. The day come and the tech says he cant fix the unit without charging me for the repair because it is now out of warranty and if I have the extended warranty then I need to set that up with the extended warranty group. I send him away because I had just paid for the extended warranty. I called whirlpool for the extended warranty work and they schedule a repair contractor to come out in 3 days. The repair contractor calls me directly to confirm if the unit is side by side or stacked. I let them know that the units are stacked and they say they cant repair it because its a two tech job and they dont have enough techs. They send me back to talk to whirlpool. Whirlpool then notifies me that because its stacked I have to either unstack it myself or hire someone to unstack it for me. Well, I cant unstack the unit by myself and why should I have to pay someone to unstack it when thats what the unit was designed for? At this point I am going back and forth with the builder to get a refund so I can replace the unit. I will forever steer clear of any whirlpool or subsidiary products. The products are flimsy and the service is no better.

We recently bought a home and our dishwasher came with the home. We saw our basement leaking and got 2 plumbers come over and check the pipes out, paying almost $600, only to realize that the leak was actually from the broken plastic in our dishwasher, and not any pipe. When we called the Customer Service to get it replaced as it comes with a 20 year warranty on the plastic body, they said they would replace the part, but I would have to pay $81 for the first 15 min & $19 every additional 15 min. for labor, which means I would end up paying at least close to $400 or more, depending on how long the technician takes to replace the fiber body. Neither their policy nor warranty make any sense to me. Its frustrating to see that in spite of being covered, I would be the one paying money out of my pocket.

The Gold Series Whirlpool dishwasher has some cool features for changing the configuration of the shelves, etc. After that its all downhill. Poor washing, worse drying. In the past 6 months Ive tried: less dishes, redistribute them differently every use, lower/raise upper shelf, use liquid detergent, powder packets, drying agent... nada. Absolutely NO remnant of food can be on the dishes. Of course I rinse everything well prior to loading washer; this one wants them CLEANED. I dont give a flying fig how loud a machine is as long as its doing its job. This one quietly does very little. AND the genius who designed that horrid cutlery basket needs a new job.The basket slides onto the inside of the door, making it difficult to reach into; it can sit on the outside of the lower tray but it falls off at the slightest disturbance. The baskets are narrow with hinged lids; the lids have small and medium slits so items are placed individually. If your cutlery is the right size! Ours is a little wide in the handle, they dont fit and must be placed into the opened, narrow baskets and butt up against each other. We are only 2 folks, I cook one meal a day and run the washer TWICE because bowls and pots take up the entire space, so I either wash the remainder by hand or keep the sink full of dirty pots and dishes. LOVELY. Bring back the old washer!!!
