I am the owner of a 4-year-old stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator, Model GB9SHDXPS02. Yesterday morning, my 5-year-old daughter opened the fridge door to get a snack. The door came crashing down, hit the floor - missing my 21-month-old daughter by less than two feet - the drawer smashed off on impact and flew across the kitchen floor and the contents of the drawer (salad dressings, syrup, condiments, etc) went flying too. Miraculously, no one was hurt. My children were obviously upset and crying, and I was shaken. My laminate floor has a large dent and long scratch from the impact. My fridge door is broken. I cannot get through to Whirlpool Canadas corporate office to speak to anyone. The Whirlpool Canada call center is giving me the runaround. Yesterday I spoke to a supervisor at the call center who advised me that someone from the Corporate Safety Division would phone me within 24 hours - but I have not received a phone call and it has been more than 24 hours. I am noticing a complete disconnect between the gravity of the situation and an appropriate response from Whirlpool. I am a mother of 4 small children - two of which were very nearly killed/badly injured by a faulty refrigerator door. I cant even get a phone call in response. This is a serious safety issue. Im tired of apologies, some real action needs to be taken to ensure this never happens again to any consumer.

I am a Whirlpool Privilege Member - IFB privilege number **. This is Mrs ** here and I possess two Whirlpool Fridges, one single door and one double door (Elite Model). In fact, all my family members have Whirlpool refrigerators because I recommended them and because I have had a very satisfying experience with your service until now.I recently (first week of March) logged a complaint as my fridge was not working (it was working on and off). The Mechanic from the service center visited us and said that the compressor was at fault. I had some doubt about this as the Fridge was working on and off and I requested my friend who had a workshop to come and have a look. He checked and said that the compressor was working perfectly but looked like there was some problem in the supply of current which could be a loose contact or something. So I logged another complaint and when the mechanic came (this time a different one), I was out of the country and my husband was there in the house. He checked the fridge and said the compressor was working and apologized for the earlier mechanic’s wrong diagnosis. He also said that it was difficult that since the wires were inside the beading or the Puff, or whatever, the fridge could not be repaired.I am really astonished and pained by this comment by the mechanic as we spent a lot of money and bought a fridge for its brand worth name. I shudder to think if this complaint had happened two years after I brought it, should I simply throw the fridge because it cant be repaired? Is there anything at all where the company can say it can’t be repaired? Are fridges used and thrown in India? I am all the more worried because I have been recommending Whirlpool Fridges left and right to everyone and I tell them that there could be a situation when Whirlpool would ask you to simply throw your fridge away. I still have belief in Whirlpool and I firmly believe my recommendations would not go wrong, and it is only the fault of the mechanic who could have made this remark unwittingly.

When I first bought this machine I loved the big tub, but I was concerned that there was no agitator. It confuses me how clothes can get clean if there is nothing to rub them again. Even in the olden days they rub clothes against a board. Well my concern is valid and I believe the washing machine industry needs to go back to the old model, as this new version does not work. Here are all the problems: 1) The machine judges how much water to put in. This doesnt work. I follow the directions and outline the perimeter and dont overload, yet still it just barely puts in enough water to make the clothes wet. Im all for conserving the environment, but enough water needs to be provided to actually get the clothes clean. I would like to be the judge of how much water should be used, so I would like to be able to tell the machine if it is a small, medium or large load. I do believe that the lack of enough water is why the clothes do not come out as clean as they should and why they end up smelling (see #4). 2) There is no agitator, so there is really nothing available to help clean the clothes. Spinning them around like a maniac is not enough, which leads me to the next problem. 3) The clothes come out twisted terribly and then many times come out of the dryer wrinkled because of how hard they were twisted. I tried to select a less harsh spin cycle, but then the clothes are too wet to put in the dryer. There is no happy medium.4) Biggest problem to date: Our clothes/towels have all started smelling. You know that smell when you leave your clothes in the washer too long (like two days) and then put them in the dryer? Its that smell. The clothes/towels dont smell when you immediately take them out, but they do smell at any bit of moisture. When I dry myself off after the shower, I notice the newly washed bath towel smells like a wet dog. I have used the pods, liquid detergent and powder. I dont remember having the smell problem when I first bought the machine and used powder, so I just returned to using powder today. (Ive even tried doubling up on the pods, but the clothes still smell.)This leads me to problem number 5: When using powder in this machine, the machine does not empty the powder container completely, and so the clothes do not get the required amount of detergent. Often there are clumps left over in the powder dispenser, but not always. (This is what led me to go to the pods and liquid detergent in the first place.) But at least with powder (I use Gain) my towels dont stink after the first time I used them.I wouldnt recommend this machine. I really researched machines before I purchased this one, but they all had bad reviews, so how do you pick? And I never look at the good reviews because we all know so many people are paid to rave about products they know nothing about, or it is a company employee writing the review. This machine is a huge disappointment. I am going to try adding a rinse cycle like a previous reviewer suggested. Maybe the extra water will help with the smell. Of course this is not good for the environment though, so this whole way of making washing machines with no agitator and limiting water defeats the energy efficient goal.

On its 1st year, the water pump went out. It cost $200.00 to replace it. On its 2nd year, the circuit board went out, and it took $300.00+ to replace it. On its 5th year, the bearings went out and cost $250.00 to replace it. I bought this for $900.00, and I already have paid $750.00 plus the price of purchase which makes this washer $1,600.00. Whirlpool should compensate all of us who have worked hard and have purchased this product! I will never purchase from Whirlpool again. I can’t afford them. I should get a refund from Whirlpool. Don’t they care? Email me for these problems at **. I am so dissatisfied with this product.

I purchase a suite of Whirlpool Kitchen Appliances April 2017. My range is the slide in model. The knobs are on the front of the stove top. I 4 months in I saw that the paint behind the plastic panel where the knobs are was chipping. Also, the gasket in the oven had some loose threads so I finally decided to call the warranty. Whirlpool paid for the gasket to be replaced but Customer service said the chipping was cosmetic and that only covered for 30 days. I am so disappointed in this range and Whirlpool. My stove looks very used after 10 months. I followed the instructions on what to clean it with and how to clean so I know its not me. The paint chipping is crazy! How as consumers do we deal with this? This Range was a cost over $2000! and they give me touch-up paint!I purchased Whirlpool because I researched prior to purchasing my appliances. I thought I was buying Quality, this is not quality! At Christmas I had a pot of potatoes boil over and the element circle on the glass top cam off with cleaning. This too is not covered because its cosmetic. Ironically, my old glass top Whirlpool range did the same thing. That why I got a new one! I guess it still works. Who cares how it looks... RIGHT? Well, I WAS a good Whirlpool customer. Not anymore! Do not purchase Whirlpool glass top ranges unless you want it to look worn out after less than one year. I have tried to post pictures but this wont let me paste them!

We bought a refrigerator Model# WSF26C2 EXB last June 2012, and it broke down! Our one-year manufacturer warranty did not cover for any food loss. We would not recommend Whirlpool refrigerator to anyone. We called at 12:30 pm and they could not send anybody out to repair the refrigerator until the following day. Bottom line is, there is no compensation with Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer model #wtw8200yw in August 2012. I just purchased a new washer today (Jan 2018) to replace it! We have had to replace the lid lock twice, then the cycle knob would only work on the normal cycle. Last week it started to sound like it was going to take off! Had a repairman come and the bearings went out in it, will cost almost $500 to fix! Not spending another dime on this junk! I purchased a new washer today (not a Whirlpool either!)

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in June of 2014 and the plastic part of the stainless steel handle that attaches it to the fridge broke about a month or so later. After replacing the fridge because the company said they no longer made the part they gave me a new fridge and with that one the door would not close without leaving a gap of about 1/3rd of an inch open at the hinge side. They took that fridge back and sent me a new fridge. A week later I got in the mail a handle for the first fridge which I no longer had. About a week after that I noticed that the latest and third fridges handle had a crack in the same place. Whirlpool sent me 5 replacement parts and they were all defective with the same crack visible in the replacements. Finally I got a replacement handle that looked good and it broke today, Feb 6th 2016, in the same place as the first one. I should mention that each time the company replaced the fridge it was with a different and better model and each with a slightly different handle. There are other design flaws with the fridge. The door is in a corner and there are cabinets on the wall so the door can only open slightly more than 90 degrees which makes it impossible to open the crisper drawer enough to get a cabbage in it and if I want to clean the crisper drawer I must move and turn the fridge in the kitchen. Also if the crisper drawer is not closed completely it causes the guard rail on the bottom door shelf to fly off sending everything on the bottom shelf to fall to the floor. Fun when some are made of glass and filled with liquid. You would think I would have learned my lesson about this company but no! I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and when I saw that the automatic door would not open enough to dispense the soap, powder or packet I called a certified Whirlpool repairman who told me after receiving a duplicate that of course would not work either, that there was no solution to the problem and I went back to Lowes and bought a Samsung and my problems were solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER Whirlpool or as I now call it, Whirledpoo, product, EVER.

We bought our washer about 3 years ago brand new from Lowes. Like others, I have had problems with holes in clothing and spots that looked like grease. It worked well up until recently when we noticed some brown splatters on the floor. Shortly after it made a loud noise like a plane taking off and the load would become unbalanced. We researched and found many people were having issues with the bearings going bad. My husband was going to order parts to fix it but you have to have a special tool that is expensive to buy... It was going to be almost $200 to repair ourselves! He called a washing machine repair man and he said he doesnt even touch them because the repair wont last. I guess were going to be better off buying a new washer. There really needs to be a recall on this product!!!

Do not buy Whirlpool or Maytag appliances. They do not stand by their products. We have purchased 2 washing machines in the past 8 years. Both of them quit or broke almost as fast as we got them. The customer service agents were pleasant, but they would not help us at all. The machine we purchased has a design flaw that they will not acknowledge. They have been contacted by us several times and cant fix the problem. They need to correct a design flaw that is in all their machines. All of our clothes get encircled around the agitator and the machine gets off balance. We have to untangle our clothes from the agitator and pull them apart by hand. They make bad products, including a Whirlpool refrigerator that broke within a month of us buying it. They care about selling these crappy machines. Buy a GE, Bosch or LG. You will get a machine that works properly as soon as you hook it up. We have had their representative out several times to our house and they could not repair it. The repair techs have told us that Maytag and Whirlpool clothes washers are no good.

Never again will I buy a Whirlpool product. I paid over $800 for a new washer 51/2 years ago. I had it worked on twice under extended warranty. Now the bearings are out of the tub and it sounds like a jet taking off when it spins. I had whirlpool products in the past and they lasted for years with no problems. I have a friend who has a relative who is an engineer for whirlpool and his job is to engineer their products so they fail within a certain time frame. They dont want them to last like they use to. They now have gotten their product line to the point where they can tell when it will fail. This is crap. What happened to products that lasted like they use to. NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL.

We purchased our appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave and a dishwasher from Home Depot and chose Whirlpool because we believed in their quality. We purchased an ice maker for the refrigerator and it did not get delivered so we had to contact the store to get this resolved. Once this was resolved we installed the ice maker and began to use the products. We noticed a leak from the dish washer and checked the connections only to find out the leak was coming from inside the door. We contacted whirlpool to let them know. We were then contacted by whirlpool that they could not find a service center in our area and we needed to find one and they would reimburse us 150.00 for the service center that we find to come look at it and then we need to let whirlpool know what parts were needed and they would send them to us then we could have the service center come back and install the parts. After receiving this information I contacted whirlpool to let them know that this was unacceptable. First of all this is time and money out of my pocket and no service center is going to make two separate service calls for 150.00 dollars. So whirlpool tells me they have done all they can do in which I informed them that they have not done all they can do and they we just dumping this on me to take care of. So after arguing my point, the whirlpool employee decided to call a service center and make an appointment for Jan 09, 2020 which I agreed with and hopefully the problem will be solved. This should have been done from the very beginning instead of wasting my time only to have the whirlpool employees do their job. A customer should not have to deal with this. In the future I will using a different company for my products, not because of the product but because of the service. I have made a copy of this and will be posting my review.

Most of my appliances are Whirlpool - dishwasher, refrigerator, clothed dryer and the Cabrio washer. The washer before this one, I had it for over 10 years and replaced it because of rust (thats another problem with Whirlpool - rust). Now the Cabrio hasnt got all kinds of problems - UL, F1 and jumping. The serviceman asked me for $450 for repair; it included a set of springs for the drum, a new electronic board and a 30-day warranty on parts and labor. Im better off buying a new one (I cant afford at this moment). My wife is scared of the darn thing and refuse to use it so now I have the job of washing and standing guard to make sure the washer doesnt leave the garage. Thank you, Whirlpool - and my refrigerator works fine all rusted.

Aqua clean does not work. I purchased this range this year not knowing aqua clean was different than a standard self cleaning. I had not use the range since its delivery in June until Thanksgiving. One meal in the oven and the turkey had created staining on the sides and the bottom. I have run the self clean cycle so far four times and scrubbed till I’m blue in the face. The greasy stuff does not lift off and the warranty voids if you use anything else. Have already contacted the dealer to see if I can return this!

We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Ca
We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Canada April 2012, just before we took possession of our new home. We began using the range in July of that year and it worked well until September 11, 2014. At that time we decided to use one of the features of the range which is the self-clean feature. During which the control panel failed and our oven ceased to work.We contacted Appliance Canada and they suggested a technician come to assess. We called the suggested number and they send a technician that was not Whirlpool certified and we had to pay out of pocket for the visit $158. He did absolutely nothing during the visit. We then called Whirlpool Canada and they informed us that he was not Whirlpool certified and to call Appliance Canada, we immediately called Appliance Canada and made arrangements to have certified technician come to assess. Whirlpool Canada also indicated at that time that the board that failed was still under warranty and we should not have to pay. September 22nd the second technician came to assess the situation, used tape to cover the front blowing air duct so as not to have the hot air blow back onto the control panel. This was a temporary fix, they ordered a control panel in the interim that they would then use to replace. The control panel came in October the 22nd, was replaced and the new board was faulty, put old one back in and re-ordered another board. The part was on back-order. By mid November, after numerous calls, we called Whirlpool directly. They authorized that the technician to get the part from another supply source. On November the 26th, technician came back - tried new board could not get it to work, left it with us and ordered additional parts. At that time the technician who was taking the case had a family emergency and would not be able to come back out until the new year. Subsequently, Appliance Canada authorized a new company to resume our work with a new technician (Toronto Appliance). He came out December the 17th, with the board that was left behind, he was able to get the oven working. December the 22nd while in the middle of cooking a meal, the oven failed again. We called Appliance Canada and they had a Technician scheduled to come December the 24th from Toronto Appliance. However, on December the 23rd the oven resumed working. The Technician came on the 24th but because the oven was working again could do nothing. On December the 31st, while dinner was in for guests, the oven failed yet again. We called Appliance Canada, yet again, and they scheduled another visit with a new control panel and additional board. The technician arrived again today, January the 28th, and could not get the stove working. He was instructed to order an additional part and we are to wait another 2 weeks. In total, we have been waiting for 4 and a half months, we have also been told that we were not to have used the self-clean as this causes these types of problems. Why is it offered, in addition, Whirlpool has not supported our direct calls, nor authorized the replacement of a product, that for all intents and purposes, is faulty. We have had no success in the resolution of this issue nor support to reach a resolution from all parties involved. I would suggest not buying any product from those involved as their lack of support for their product is appalling.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

My Whirlpool Dishwasher Model# DU980QPDP, just quit a few days ago after 21 1/2 years. We paid $554.04 for it back in 1995. It was the top of the line. Quiet, with 4 fold down shelves on the top rack. Silverware basket on the door. Also a separate knife basket on the door. It came with extra interchangeable door panels. When the white ones got dented we changed to the black ones. The racks are still in good condition. Never had one repair on this dishwasher, though I used it every day, sometimes twice a day. It had a 4 year warranty on the control panel and a 20 year warranty on the tub and door. We would have it repaired, but cant get the part.

We bought a Cabrio washer model #WTW7300DW0 and are very unhappy. The clothes come out of the washer dirty, with chunks of soap, (yes we are using HE detergent) and patches of lint on them. The low water design is a joke. The clothes on the top of the load never get into the water. The lid needed repair from the first day we bought it. We have tried all the water settings and the clothes on the top barely move. Why hasnt Whirlpool figured out that this design is just not working? In 2009 I bought 2 (yes 2) machines (one was for our daughter). I also took out 5 year warranties on both (good job I did). Within the first month on our machine the paddles flew off and after a bit of a debate with the insurers we had another machine (same model). Within a short period from date of purchase both machines had a number of faults - circuit boards, weights that came loose! and bearings going. There are other bits but too extensive to list. To be fair to the insurers they were no trouble (it really is the inconvenience of being without a washer and having to schedule time to get it sorted out). I will never ever buy a Whirlpool as all of these (3 in total) have been a nightmare and ours is sounding noisy again (it only had a new drum 12 months ago for bearings - yes you need a new drum for that £200 in all!!) so I am really glad that we have the insurance. When that runs out and the machine is dead (whichever comes first) I think we will will be buying either a Beko or a Samsung that are getting really high ratings. Anyone reading this might wonder why did we buy these in the first place. Well a colleague of mine at work had one and said it was fantastic (she had children so used hers a lot) hence me buying them (and they were not cheap by any means, so thought we were getting a cracking pair of machines....cracking, yes they might as well be as a chocolate fireguard has more reliability...WARNING DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE - IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SANITY! AND FAITH IN HUMAN BEINGS TOO!!!!!

Owner of 20 apartments, 16 of them have electric water heaters and 4 have natural gas units. Of the 4 gas units so far I have had to replace 3 of them and the longest one lasted 6 years and 7 months!! One of them was just over 6 years and the other was 9 days away from warranty expiring. They replaced that one. If you have no other choice make sure to buy extended warranty if available. They just dont last!!

Refrigerator Model ED5FVGXWSO2 - After owning it for a couple of years, we decided to do a super cleaning and remove all the shelves. When we took the shelves out, I noticed that the plastic support tracks were all cracked. I called and complained to Whirlpool and of course the fridge was out of warranty but heres the good part - The person on the phone asked me Did you put heavy things on the shelves? OMG My response, trying to think of the heaviest thing possible, was, Like milk cartons and juice? She even said There was likely a bad batch of plastic when the shelves were made. I was a big fan of Whirlpool. Great value etc. but I will never buy from them again. Shelves should last the life of the fridge!

Just want to pass on update on my dryer situation. Purchased a Whirlpool WGD4900XW1 3/9/13. The motor went out 6/22/15. Now Dec 2016 the replaced motor went out again. Whirlpool says... So sorry, we can get you a discount on a new one... ABT is giving me a break on the part so I am going to go ahead and fix it one more time. I assume in another 18mos I will be looking for a new dryer! DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL DRYERS. THEY ARE CRAP!! My brother also purchased a Whirlpool & it died about the same time.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater from Lowe’s in 2007. It lasted 2 years until a faulty weld on the tank started leaking and flooded my basement. Whirlpool did replace it. However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. It also flooded my basement.I am now on my third Whirlpool water heater in 5 years and the one I have now has a bad thermistor. It has cost me about $225 each time the water heater has been replaced. In my opinion, these Whirlpool water heaters are junk and their quality control needs to get out of the break room and start doing their job. Never will I purchase another Whirlpool appliance.

Purchased in Nov. 2013, by March 2014 noticed water leak on floor, after 8 service calls in 3 months it was deemed unrepairable By Whirlpool. Got a new fridge in June 2015, no cost to us, but have had 2 service calls already for the same problem. The first leak damaged our kitchen floor, and the ceramic tile that we have is no longer made so we have had to file an insurance claim on our homeowners to pay for repairs. I would never buy any Whirlpool product again, or buy from the local company we bought the original fridge from.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF
My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator, model number GI6SARXXF04, serial number K20311478 on February 3, 2012. It was delivered soon after. In April of 2012 our ice maker quit working. We called The Appliance Doctor for service. They reset the control, and left saying that they thought it was fixed. The ice maker as a result was not fixed. They came out again, and stated that the ice maker needed to be replaced altogether. So they ordered the part and we waited for two weeks for it to arrive and be installed. By this time it was April 23, 2012.Then in June of 2013 we began having water pool in the bottom of the refrigerator and freeze, and water began to leak onto our hardwood floors causing them to buckle. We cleaned it up for a while thinking perhaps something had spilled, and busted up the ice on our own. The beginning of 2014 we called for service from Lanny Adams Appliance. The technician worked on it and stated that something was plugged up in the water line and he thought it was fixed, we paid for this service on our own. On August 14, 2014 we had another technician come out because it was not fixed. The technician came out and stated that it would cost another $219.95. He further stated that he thought that there was a recall of some kind, that I should look into it. I did look into it and printed out the Technical Service Pointer that was produced in November of 2013. When I called Whirlpool at that point, someone was sent to fix it. Of course I had already paid to have it repaired in February of 2014, Whirlpool stated that it was not their responsibility, which again it was not fixed until August of 2014. As a further note, my floors were never fixed because I have hardwood floors throughout my house and simply cannot fix the area in front of the refrigerator. My floor had just been refinished, and after speaking with the floor company that had just refinished my floors a few months earlier, they stated all of the floors would have to be redone or it would not match. Figuring Whirlpool is definitely not going to pay for that, I have just dealt with it, since it cost me over $3000.00 to have the floors refinished. Now, it is February of 2015 and the whole refrigerator is not cooling, and the freezer is not freezing. Again, I woke up to water in the floor on my hardwood floors, and have had to move all of my food to my ten year old Frigidaire refrigerator that is in my basement and has NEVER had a service call. After speaking with service company, they state it will cost $1200.00 to fix the refrigerator....REALLY? So, now I get to go spend a lot more money for a new appliance. You can bet it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!I contacted Whirlpool again, and I spoke with Robin in your Customer Service Department after speaking with one of your Customer Service Representatives that stated I was basically on my own with the repairs. Robin stated that there was nothing Whirlpool would do, but she would agree to pay for parts and I will be left with the repair labor. Although your company may think that this is good customer service, I have to disagree given the fact that I have had nothing but consistent problems with the refrigerator since I bought it. At this point, I would like to ask you if in your opinion this is a good appliance? I asked Robin and she stated that I needed to buy an extended warranty. Dont you realize it isnt about the warranty? It is about the fact that I have had the appliance for 3 years and have had consistent problems. I believe the refrigerator is a lemon, and I would like it replaced.I have always trusted the Whirlpool name, but at this point, I do not see myself buying another Whirlpool appliance.

I bought the Whirlpool mini frig from Target 3 years ago thinking it was made by whirlpool in USA!!!! 1) not really made by whirlpool!! Made by Glantz from China. Common deception of USA and Chinese mfg to fool consumers is to license a well knownBrand to glantz in china. Glantz mfg almost all mini frigs under dozens of well known brands. Federal Trade Commission should ban this kind of deceptive marketing. Complain to the FTC Wash DC!!! 2) Chinese mfg gantz mfg defects and how I fixed them: A) back of freezer compartment open, freezer does not freeze B) 45f inside not 40f!!! C) defective thermostat remedies: 1) aluminum foil to seal back freezer 2) weather stripping around door to bring temp from f45 to 40f.D) used Youtube video to adjust defective thermostat, until I can find a replacement thermostat!!! Dys videos: watch youtube repair videos before you trash your frig. 2) check the country of origin, if its made in china, it will not last very long!! 3) buy an extended warranty for any chinese product. You can buy generic frig replacement parts on eBay!!Yes chinese products are cheap, but they do not last!!! One good thing!!! This is a very quiet frig.

I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in ea
I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in early 2013. That has not stopped my wife from pursuing her passion for baking from time to time. It goes without saying that baking requires a well functioning baking oven. The one that came with our home was a Whirlpool Wall Oven/Microwave combination. Sometime in early 2014 the Oven broke down. I had no choice but to replace the combination. After doing some online research and a couple of trips to stores like Sears, Home Depot and Lowes, we decided to drop $2700 of our hard earned dollars on a brand new Whirlpool WOC95EC0AS wall oven microwave combo to replace the old one. Lowes sent someone home to take measurement to make sure that we ordered the right size for the slot in our kitchen. 2 weeks after the purchase, around March 27th or 28th, we had the Microwave/oven combo installed in our kitchen by some Lowes provided installation contractor. After installing the appliance, the technician demoed both the microwave and the oven part of the combo. Everything looked good and we were happy to see the shiny new appliance adorning our kitchen. Little did we know then that this would start a seemingly unending horror story. For the first 3-4 weeks we used only the microwave and it worked as expected. Then one weekend, my wife decided to do some baking. The dough was prepared meticulously and then came the first surprise, the oven refused to turn on. Feature not available - the message scrolled across the LED display. And horror of horrors, the microwave started giving the same message immediately after. We looked online for solutions, and we found one that suggested that we try breaking the circuit for 1 minute and turn on again we tried it to no avail. And now we went from having a working microwave/broken oven to no microwave/no oven.We waited till the next day or so before placing a call to the customer service number provided in our warranty receipt. By now the 30 day return guarantee had expired and it was the end of April, 2014. Product was now under manufacturers warranty. Whirlpool/Lowes customer service scheduled a technician to come take a look at the oven.My wife took a day off from work and waited for the technician. The technician from J&H appliance repair of SJ came home, took a look and then tried breaking the circuit and turning it on again after a minute; of course, it did not work. After consulting with someone on the phone, he decided to order some parts the main circuit board. He promised to come back after the part arrived. We did receive a call from J&H to schedule an appointment to install the part and schedule a time we did. J&H decided to no-show us on the appointment and my wife wasted another day of her time-off from work.We called customer-service again and this time they decided to send in a technician from a Sears owned company called A&E Factory Service. A technician came home and he went through the same steps as the earlier technician from J&H. This time, it was my turn to stay home and welcome the visitor. Finally when there was no trick up his sleeves to left to try, he decided he is going to order the main board. A&E technician did something different, he ordered the part to my home. I called him as soon as it arrived. We scheduled a time and he arrived to install the part. I stayed home again. Well, result was no different and the appliance was in no mood to oblige to our coaxing and cajoling. Feature not available, it continued to bleep out. He ordered 2 more boards to my home. I stayed home again to welcome the technician and he arrived again to install the 2 new boards but the result was no different than the last time. Feature not available - the zombie appliance screamed. He told me that there is only one that remains to be done which is to replace the front panel circuitry so he ordered it. By now it was end of June. We hadnt used the oven for 3 full months and the microwave for 2 months.First week of July, a new technician from A&E showed up early in the morning to install the newly ordered front panel. Surprise, Surprise - Feature not available screamed the shiny lemon sitting in my kitchen wall. The technician asked me if I will be home the whole day and I said yes. Another technician, a supposedly senior expert came by that afternoon. He tinkered with it for a couple of hours and like all who came before him, he surrendered. He said there is nothing left to do with the oven and that he is going to recommend that the oven be replaced. He left me a voice mail next morning saying that I need to call Whirlpool myself and apprise them of my experience and ask for a replacement. So I called the customer service after a long 1 hour talk with customer service rep, followed by a conversation with his rude supervisor. I was told that Whirlpool no longer deals with A&E that they broke their relationship with them as of June 31st, 2014. I failed to understand why that was my fault. I was told they need to send technician from another company, can you guess the company whirlpool recommended? It would be funny, if it wasnt incredibly painful to deal with horrible customer support representatives yes, it was the the no-show company J&H. I told him Id have nothing to do with J&H. So they recommended their only other option, a company called AGO.AGO technicians started showing up at my house since early July and I waited with baited breath for them to suggest a way forward to a resolution. Well good thing that I didnt hold my breath for that to happen. AGO technicians have made 8-9 visits to my home during July and August with the last visit being on Aug 20th. They replaced all the boards that A&E guys had already replaced the previous month. On August 21st, I received a call from AGO rep saying that they have given up that the product is irreparable. They gave me a reference number and asked me to call Whirlpool for a final resolution.I called Whirlpool customer service on August 22, 2014 and Spoke to Jennifer and her supervisor for 32 minutes. They wanted to restart the whole process of sending technicians to my home. It would be funny if they hadnt stolen $2700 of my hard earned money + all the lost hours and productivity + vacation time lost + headache they caused + the pain of not having a working Oven/Microwave in our kitchen + dealing with rude customer service reps, I lost it. I threatened to put the whole recorded conversation on YouTube. The rude inconsiderate supervisor hung up on me.I called back after a few minutes and spoke with a tad bit more reasonable rep named Ashley. At least, she had the patience to hear me out without barking at me about what my rights are as a customer. Well she had no better solution than to suggest another technician appointment what was the excuse this time? That the last technician from AGO didnt call Whirlpools tech support line while he was at my house. As if that is my fault. I agreed and we setup an appointment for Wednesday, August 27, 2014 between 8AM and 12PM with the same old company J&H who no showed me once. Goes to show you who Whirlpools associates in business are. They had only two companies providing repair services in San Jose AGO and J&H.I took the morning off from work on Aug 27, 2014 and waited till 12 noon and there was no sign of technician. So I called Whirlpool customer service number one more time. As you would expect by now, a rude customer service person named Eva from Michigan picked up my call. It was reasonably clear to me during that conversation that the J&H technician no-showed because appointment was not communicated to them. She emphatically claimed that my warranty is not a product replacement warranty but a repair warranty and that she needs to send me a technician to take a look at the product. Can anyone believe it? She told me I have only one option either to accept the perpetual technician visits or she will note that I have rejected their offer to service the product. I told her I am not rejecting anything, just exploring all my options. She assured me I had no other options. The arrogance of these people! So here I am, several thousand of my hard earned money stolen by Whirlpool and I still have no working product. Adding insult to injury, 2 weeks ago I received a letter from Whirlpool pitching me to extend my 3 year extended warranty to 5 years. They want to inflict more pain and charge you for the privilege.I have more options than Eva would want me to know. Luckily I have legal coverage under my benefit plans at work. Even more importantly there is social media and internet. I am pursuing those options at the moment. Heres the summary: Lowes takes my $2700 on March 13th. I get the Wall Oven delivered and installed on March 27th. A total of at least 15 repair visits are made to my home between first week of March May and August 21 (I have started losing count). Time since product purchase: > 5 months. # of times the oven has worked : 0. Hours spent talking to rude customer service reps: 4-6 hours. Time spent at home baby sitting repair technicians : > 100 hours. Lowes, Inc washed their hand stating 30 day money back guarantee is over. Its customer service people were not of any help either. UPDATE 9/15/14:Within a few hours of publishing this post (on 9/2/14), I was contacted by both Lowes and Whirlpool via Twitter. Both the companies seemed genuinely interested in resolving this issue. After I DMed my appliance and contact information via twitter, Melissa from Whirlpool called me and left me a voice mail on Wednesday, Sept 3rd, 2014 informing that they have decided to replace the oven. I was told in that voice mail that I should expect a call from Whirlpool on the details of the exchange before end of day on Friday (Sept 5th). I was contacted by Lowes and I informed the Lowes rep that Whirlpool has agreed to replace my oven.I thought I would really be able to make a single update to the post informing the world that Whirlpool really made amends and tried to hard to correct the failures of the past. It is 9/15/14 today and I havent received any updates from Whirlpool about the how/when of the exchange. I made 2 customer service calls to Whirlpool last week. I was unable to speak to Melissa the first time, but did speak with another rep. She told me she will pass the information on to Melissa and ask her to contact me. She connected me to Melissas voice mail and I left her a voice mail. Melissas voice mail greetings suggested that I also contact her via Whirlpools customer service email for faster response. So I did that too.On Thursday 12:37PM pacific, I received a call from Melissa. She had no useful information to share with me. She is waiting for some paper pusher to do his/her job and could not make any promises as to when it will be resolved. My file is stuck in one of Whirlpools many bureaucratic bottlenecks. This is no personal indictment of Melissa it is just evidence that Whirlpools is not serious about customer satisfaction. My experience is not isolated as evidenced not just by this event but also by the number of people ranting on their social media handles. Here was an opportunity to rectify its mistake and win the confidence of a customer back and so far Whirlpool seems to be uninterested in any such thing.IMPORTANT UPDATE (9/16/14): Please share this story via your social media handles. It is important to hold these people accountable for their actions. It is also important that we inform consumer about the perils of doing business with these organizations. Thank you very much. UPDATE (9/17/14): Whirlpools customer supports twitter moniker is @WhirlpoolCare. LOL. They could have demonstrated care by resolving customer issues, instead they removed my permission to post to their Facebook Page. WhirlpoolCare indeed.:) I will be handling this mostly through Twitter follow me at **. I will be using hashtag #whirlpoolsux going forward. I would request that you do the same. I bought my Whirlpool over the range microwave WMH32L19AS November 28, 2015
I bought my Whirlpool over the range microwave WMH32L19AS November 28, 2015. We started having problems with it, working intermittently one year later. I called Whirlpool in January 2017 and they told me it was out of warranty and it would cost $150.00 for a repair person to just look at it. I decided to just keep using the microwave because I only paid $232.00 for it and I figured after parts and labor if would probably cost over $200.00 to fix it. I called Whirlpool back in June because the microwave wouldnt shut off and even kept running when you opened the door. Whirlpool sent out a repair person at no cost to fix it. But the repair person told me Whirlpool only paid for him to diagnose the problem. I had to pay for the repair. After working on the microwave and replacing sensors and fuses he determined the microwave irreparable. I called Whirlpool back and they just told me that my microwave is 1 1/2 years old and they were not responsible after 1 year and I should have bought the extended warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

The oven has not worked correctly from day one. I have to use a thermometer plus after the correct temp is indicated I still have to wait another 15 minutes for the oven to reach the desired temp. Also have to set the temp for 25 degrees higher than the one I want. The burner that supposedly has two sizes in one is basically useless. Temps are not correct and sizes are misleading. There is a tiny groove around the outside edge of the stove top that gathers crumbs which are hard to clean out.

I have owned this Whirlpool Cabrio machine and dryer for almost 5 years. It has been a nightmare. I am forever getting it fix. Now its the notorious LD light, not draining, and it has actually drained, and the company I bought it from does not repair them due to so many problems. Got a plumber to look at it and got it to work.. This is after the company came, charged me 130.00 to tell me they dont repair it. I bought this machine because it was large and I have a big family, energy saver (no, it did not save as much as they claimed) and uses less water. The dryer is wonderful. But the 1900.00 I paid for them was not worth the price. I now have to go up and down my cellar stairs 6 times per wash to stop it, shake the hose, and restart it. A load of laundry takes close to 3 hours due to starting it over. I am gonna buy a Maytag which I use to have and take this to the junkyard. Thanks a ton, Whirlpool and I read all comments and they are ALL true.

I did not purchase the washer (Cabrio Top Load Clothes Washer) but inherited it in a home sale. Never had a non agitator. I was excited for this new washer. After a week I knew why they left it! My clothes did not seem clean; stains were still on them, when I used the delicate cycle a pair of pants went in folded and came out folded!!! I also would have to redistribute the clothes every time I had a load that was larger than five pieces, because it would stop. I would actually have to take clothes out and spin what was remaining then put those in the dryer and put the other clothes back in and spin those again. I was told I needed to use OxiClean on top of my normal detergent in order to get my clothes clean. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool. Just bought an LG; fingers crossed.

I’ve had this washer since October 2018. Worst purchase ever. It does not clean the clothes nor does it put enough water in it. I’ve tried the deep water option too and it’s for sure still not enough. I don’t understand how they even thought that this was perfectly fine to sell. If I could’ve taken it back a month after having it, I for sure would. And no one will buy it because they’ve read reviews of how it’s terrible. I wasted $900 on this washer. I have the dryer also which works amazing. The washer just sucks something terrible. My husbands military uniforms always look dirty and a lot of the clothes aren’t ever wet. I’ve finally seen a picture of how you’re supposed to have clothes in there. Why in the world would you only allow barely a layer of clothes at the very bottom to be cleaned by the agitator? Why would you have this huge drum only to put not even a load in there? This was such a waste Whirlpool and I’m glad I’m not the only person who has the same issue. I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer, it’s upsetting I can’t currently get rid of this crap washer I have now.

From what I have been reading they barely make it thru the warranty period. Maybe they will run longer if one doesnt register the appliance. Especially with the crappy service for the ones that tried to have it repaired under warranty. I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio topload washer (WTW7800XW2) in April 2011. In May 2012, I noticed the door was broken on both sides. It has now popped up and is broken so bad that it can barely be used without replacing it. I called Lowes, where it was purchased, to quickly be told that there was nothing they could do because it is out of the years warranty. This is just such a copy out to have an excuse, so that they would not even offer any assistance. Also, I paid $2,000.00 for the set; I bought the dryer as well. I just could not imagine an expensive machine like this having such a problem. Prior to buying this machine, I had my washer for 10 years. It has no problem; it was just time to buy a newer model, so I thought! After the store (Lowes) would not help, I decided to call Whirlpool; and the woman I spoke with was even less help. Andrea said there was nothing they could do since it was outside the year of manufacturers warranty. She seemed glad to have this as an excuse. I told her this is too much money to have something like this to happen. I told her it is obvious the door was defective. She said again sorry but that theres nothing she could do. She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. I asked how much the door was, and she told me $212.00. I feel like I have been royally and deliberately ripped off, and Whirlpool knows it. I say to anyone reading this to please be aware if you are purchasing this product. You will most likely be sorry you invested all this money for it. You will get a companys brand that does not care and will not stand by their product.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

The problem is in every water select mode the tub is filling full and overfilling from the top always room fully with water. I hope the machine is not sensing water level. My husband and I remodeled our home and needed a new refrigerator... I wanted to try a Samsung, but after exhaustive research on my husbands part, he insisted we purchase a Whirlpool fridge... From the get go, I have regretted that decision. The main reason being the door on the L side of the fridge does not close completely. Sure, it alarms for a time, but what about all the times I close the door and leave the house. I have had to dispose of more groceries than I care to think about... Never again will I purchase anything by Whirlpool!

We our adding our name to a list that is remarkably long. We purchased a top loading Cabrio washing machine just over a year ago and the problems with the balancing of the unit are the same as everyone else who has written in. The service company A&E has promised a lot but has done little to resolve the issues we have had with the machine. One representative told us that she would order the part and have it sent to our home. When the part did not arrive, we called A&E back only to find out it was never ordered because the service technician would not return their phone calls. I find this excuse ridiculous and similar to other false statements they have given us on the other four phone calls made to address the problem. After reading these reviews, we realize that this is only the beginning of what will be a frustrating and costly experience. Never again will we buy a Whirlpool!

In October 2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Energy smart gas water heater with flame lock safety system.$509.00 I had it installed on 5/4/2009 by Westmoreland Affordable Plumbing, $218.00. On 10/15 called Whirlpool stating that the upper thermistor was coding as a failure. They sent me another one to replace it on 10/19/2009. On 10/19/2009, 1 and 1/2 hours later, the tank was coding a bad gas valve, called back and told Whirlpool what had happened and that I smelled gas. I shut off the gas to the water heater and waited for a valve replacement to arrive. On 10/21/2009 I had E.H. Plumbing to install the new gas valve to the water heater, $150.00. On 10/28/2009 the new gas valve went bad. I contacted Whirlpool and argued with them until I had them replace the hot water tank. With their approval I went to Lowes and tried to get the same water tank but they no longer sold that model anymore. I was given their equivalent to the one I had purchased earlier. I had it installed on 10/29/2009, $150.00. I now see a class action suit was filed against Whirlpool for the model in 2008. They were still selling this model after the lawsuit???? I spent $1027.00 for a $509 hot water tank and a lot a days without any hot water. I have all my receipts and returned codes for this transaction. Is it possible to get my $300.00 back (for two extra installations) as a result of this problem? I also kept the old gas valve thermostat.

Purchased this washer in 2009 from Lowes, believing the hype that it was efficient. Since we only needed a Washer at the time, we overpaid (it is more cost effective when you buy both washer and dryer). So we paid $1000.00 for this machine (we purchased the stand as well). After the 1st year, there seemed to be a significant decrease in how fast the washer spun, as the clothes were coming out wetter. I didnt pay much attention, but 2 years later, the machine has a weird problem where it couldnt complete the cycle, and by this time, every time it Spun, the noise was louder and louder.I contact Whirlpool, placed a service call and the Technician came out. $225.00 later, there was a hose that was pinched that was sending a wrong signal to the washer. He fixed that and told me I should get a contract on the machine through Whirlpool since I seemed to be having problems. I purchased the contract, for $300.00, and 2 1/2 weeks later placed another service call, as the noise from the machine was happening every time I did laundry. The service guy came out, indicated that it seemed to be the Agitator, and that he would need to order parts, and that they had a SPECIALIST who only does this type of repair, since they have many! He also indicated that the hose may have crimped due to the movement of the entire agitator!Well, after not hearing from ANYONE for 2 weeks, I called the repair company who told me WHIRLPOOL was supposed to call and let me know that they would NOT fix the machine, as the parts cost more than the Washer, which is now valued at $500.00! No one from WHIRLPOOL EVER CALLED, and I cant understand how a $1000.00 Washing machine touted to be so efficient and environmentally friendly has been THROWN OUT after 3 years!!! And now I am out the $225.00 repair, have no washing machine, $1000.00 down the drain (and I forgot to mention a year later we bought the matching WHIRLPOOL DRYER and OVERPAID) and now have to purchase another machine, which I assure you WONT BE WHIRLPOOL! As most of us have experienced, WASHING MACHINES last for many years! The washer I had before this was over 20 years!!!! So much for efficient and environmentally friendly... The only thing GREEN about this machine is how much of my $$$ has gone to Whirlpool!

I bought my Cabrio washer about 3.5 years ago. Little after the year, I had to replace the lid because the hinge broke. Then came the F1 code, which I noticed if you turn the machine off for a couple of minutes, it resets itself. About a week ago, it started making a grinding noise and staining the clothes with oil or grease. Transmission problems. I was told by the seller it had a 10 year warranty. I called them up and now I got to foot the bill for a technician to come to my house and tell me what I already know plus labor. Might as well buy a new one. Beware because I believe Kenmore is manufactured by the same company.

My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

Another load of darks with white soap residue splattered across every item. Despite using a soap pod and setting to so-called Deep Water wash. Whirlpool top load WTW5000 is a terrible machine. As in other reviews, constant soap residue and clothes stretched and tangled into a compressed wad with deep wrinkles as you try and untangle them after the wash. Unable to dilute your soap and faking out the machine to get a bit more water are recurrent themes. Just ridiculous. There should be a class action suit for replacement. My 4-year old water heater has upper/lower sensor issues for the fourth time this year. The rep was supposed to send replacement parts to arrive today (day four with no hot water), but the wrong ones were shipped. A different rep called and offered to exchange the unit for a new one. The expense to me will be $350-$450 for the plumber to uninstall my unit, take it to Lowes and bring the new one back to install. The plumber suggested I take my $450 and just buy a new non-Whirlpool unit. He knew immediately that I had a Whirlpool hot water heater because its the most common repaired vendor. Whirlpool should be covering this expense for re-installation of their inferior product. Poor customer service. Day 4 with no hot water during the holidays with no solution in sight short of me purchasing a new hot water heater. Whirlpool finally got the right parts to me and I paid a plumber $190 to install. One week to the day later, my pilot light will not stay lit. No change in ventilation since it has been installed. I will say I have been dealing with their rep Chris on the phone who is extremely nice and I feel sorry for him. But we all have the exact same issue which is not being resolved.

Called 8/24/15 - spoke with representative about our two year old washer. Nothing Whirlpool can or will do.They have no other complaints about rust inside the lid and inside rim at bleach dispenser nor chipping of paint from lid. When asking the Whirlpool representative about the rust, he assured us there were no other complaints. This is hard to believe since our recent research clearly shows that other brands have had to replace tops due to rust. As for clothes not cleaning, no response to this issue. Whirlpool has not trained salespersons and therefore at the mercy of Lowes hard sales tactics and we were very delinquent in researching numerous complaints before purchasing Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Model WTW8240YWD - Ranked lowest possible from ConsumerAffairs with hundreds of complaints. Whirlpool should be ashamed of product - clothes do not come clean, there is no soak cycle, no way to open mid cycle without losing all water, washer smells horribly, must be cleaned - are you kidding? Who cleans the washer that is supposed to clean clothes with a special cleaner?? We understand safety issues of water in open machine, wonder if Whirlpool understands the need to have a soak feature to clean clothes. Undereducated buyers like us and the totally undereducated salesperson at Lowes were obviously a horrible combination. It was all about sales for them. No one mentioned and we had no clue that the huge drum would not clean clothes even using less water than a traditional machine. We thought platinum meant a high quality machine. It clearly was a cleverly used buzz word for sales not a premier cleaning machine. Never, never, never purchasing Whirpool anything again. Wonder if Whirlpool cares, if they read the ConsumerAffairs reports, if they respond. Our hard-earned money is wasted. Our clothes are dirty, the washer smells, and the top is rusting out!

My wife and I spent about $2500 on a new Whirlpool Dutch Door fridge five years ago. 18 months later the evaporator went out and the warranty was only good for one year! We bought an extended warranty, got it fixed and the other evaporator went out less than a year later after that! Next, the circuit board control on the crisper went out. Then, the water filter would not disengage and a repairman had to take the fridge apart just to put in a new filter! And now, the ice-maker has gone out and the fan is icing up like another evaporator is going... Insane! Our warranty is up next year. Once the warranty ends we will start shopping for another unit - and it wont be a Whirlpool - thats for sure. I have never owned anything this unreliable in my entire life! Also, I would say most of the time we have owned this piece of you-know-what it has made a loud disturbing fan noise... What a waste of good money! Run! Run far, far away!!!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot in Nov, 2013. Model is WRF560SEYWOO with water in the door and bottom freezer with ice compartment. This is a very small refrigerator for my very small space. I swear these companies program their appliances to break down exactly 1 month after the warranty is up. Thats what happened to me. Dec 2014 this horrible loud humming noise started. You could hear it out on the sidewalk! Then the door with the water just detached from the bottom and screws and plastic pieces fell out all over the floor. The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued! This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. Next we MacGyvered the door so that it is resting on the freezer door. Next, he brought in some tape and taped all the pieces of rubber falling off my doors!! This frigging frig cost me $1,653.00!! I AM FURIOUS. Why isnt Con. AFFAIRS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!

Sometimes the clothes come out with dry spots and then some come out with lint like they have gone through the dryer and yet they are coming out of the wash. Often they are in a very tight large ball in the center of the machine. I distribute evenly around the machine and I dont overload. 2 years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. We replaced with all Whirlpool appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our ice maker went crazy 1 month ago and now our dishwasher almost caught fire Memorial Day weekend while we were away! Thermal Fuse and stainless interior prevented us from losing our house to fire but really Whirlpool, you spend that kind of money and all appliances are breaking before theyre even 3 yrs old! My husband is very good at fixing things but when he diagnosed dishwasher, he said he has to find a way to fix wires in control panel because melted insulation. Now I am afraid of it. WHIRLPOOLS unacceptable customer service! Less than one year ago, we bought
WHIRLPOOLS unacceptable customer service! Less than one year ago, we bought a Whirlpool dishwasher, type ADP 4411 from Khoury Home, Lebanons leading retailer of household products. From the beginning, we were not really happy with the performance of the machine, which we felt was not cleaning as well as it should. But the nightmare for us came when ten months later, we came home to an electricity burning smell and smoke from our Whirlpool dishwasher, which had been off. Thankfully, our electric security system in our new apartment worked very well and shut off, so that our apartment didnt catch fire. It was a shock, but knowing that our machine was still under warranty, we contacted Whirlpool to let them know what happened. The bigger shock came when the company told us that the electric board is burnt probably because of high voltage when the electricity came too strong one time and that we have to pay for a new board $190 because such cases are not covered by the warranty! A Whirlpool manager said because the electricity in Lebanon is unstable, we should have unplugged the dishwasher whenever it was not in use - but its not really logic- the same thing can happen while it is in use (and of course nobody told us about it when it was installed)! We, like other normal people, do not unplug our appliances when they are not in use, and we are using in our kitchen a lot of other electronic appliances without any problems. The fact that Whirlpool is blaming us for a fire that could have had much more dangerous consequences is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately too late, we have read at the internet a lot of customer comments with these kinds of problems with Whirlpool dishwashers too. At last we got a $20 discount (!!) for the new board but on the service letter they wrote just that it had smell problems. Nothing about burning! A burning dishwasher should be for Whirlpool company a much more serious theme! The way it was handled is NOT a customer service, NOT an international service for a big company like Whirlpool and especially really NOT the customer service of a U.S. company!

Literally from day one I had an issue with my Gold Series which was aggravating but at least it was on warranty. Then 2 months out of warranty I had another problem, a leak. Now no water circulation. I think it is maybe 3 years old. What a piece of junk and my Whirlpool washer and dryer? Not much better. I will never buy another.

Six months after purchasing my Whirlpool Washer model number WTW5000DW0 I would hear what sounded like rocks in the bottom of spin drum during spin cycles. Then noticed it was taking longer for clothes to wash and sometimes the water did not completely drain. Called for Service under LOWES warranty (the worst people to deal with). Tech comes removes a penny and dime and tells me that is the problem. Leaves. 45 minutes after he leaves there is the noise again. Call and set up for this Service Company to come back. Even though they went out of business prior to the appointment Lowes Service would not listen to me and insisted I stay home ALL DAY for someone who did not show up. Repeated calls to the Service Company resulted in nothing - phone disconnected. So finally after much frustration I am given new appointment with new Service Company - PARRISH. Tech comes in here five minutes and wants to know the sound, I explain. He checks out the unit and tells me it is a major problem and the part and labor will be costly. Best if they just replace the machine. His added comment - I see a lot of this. So if this machine is such a problem why was it not recalled? I am getting a replacement as I have warranty and machine was not a year old when problem started. Lowes Service Contract is another problem but I will deal with that later.

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation.
My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. Thanks to Ikea, though, for standing by their customers.

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly
I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

Bought this washer in May of 2019: Whirlpool - Whirlpool - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 37-C
Bought this washer in May of 2019: Whirlpool - Whirlpool - 4.5 Cu. Ft. 37-Cycle High-Efficiency Front-Loading Washer with Steam and Load & Go™ XL Dispenser - Chrome Shadow. Model: WFW6620HC. SKU: 6313774. Paid over $1,000.00 for it. FIRST TIME washing our sheets, we had snags & rips. I immediately called and was referred to Whirlpool and then referred to an outside repair company. They sent a technician out who said everything was functioning properly despite having ruined 3 sets of sheets (these were not all washed at the same time & I didn’t realize they were being snagged until making the beds).I continued to use the washer - clothes were fine, but yet again, MORE sheets and now comforters RUINED!!!! I called YET AGAIN after troubleshooting the problem myself and finding that the drain holes in the drum had metal pieces sticking up causing the items to snag & rip. Another day taken off work to stay home for the repair. The repair guy comes out, the part was broken. So now I’m left once again with a faulty washing machine AND no ETA on when the new part will arrive and be installed AND having to take yet another day off work.7 sheet sets, 3 comforters, multiple shirts, & multiple bathing suits RUINED & was told there was ‘nothing they could do!’ I will NEVER EVER AGAIN purchase anything with the Whirlpool logo. It’s JUNK! Just an FYI, this was initiated in May of 2019 and it is now the middle of September 2019 with no fix updates. Who can go months without doing laundry???? Once again, poor customer service and JUNK of a product!

We purchased a Frigidaire Professional (340l model dlx, carbon number 91706983//11344/09) on the 15th of May 2009. We complained more than five times. Every time the service man came, he said everythings right. My fridge is not working properly. If it is not possible by company to make my fridge work properly, we now have no option but to go to court for justice.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW2: I am 74-1/2 years old and I hav
Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW2: I am 74-1/2 years old and I have been doing laundry for more than 50 years. We have always purchased washers of a brand made by Whirlpool. Until now Ive had nothing but the highest of praise. Two months ago, our washer stopped working and we had to shop for another. After looking at all types and brands of washers, we found out that the only type without an agitator was available. With that choice, we ended up buying the model stated above. I literally hate the way these washers pretend to wash clothes! I apply the detergent properly, place the clothes perfectly around the outer part of the tub, etc., and because there is not enough water that goes into the tub for the clothes to wash even one pair of socks, let alone a full load of clothes, I use the 2nd rinse trying to help matters although it doesnt. I dont care about the amount of the water I use to have clean clothes! The clothes sit in there just rubbing against one another, and then when they are finished, the clothes are so tangled you can hardly get them out of washer and into the dryer! Perhaps the designers of all these current washers think they are saving water, but I can tell you that sometimes I will wash mine twice as I know that I do not feel they are clean! (And I am a clean person and the clothes are not real dirty!) I am so unhappy with the decision of purchasing this horrible excuse for a washer that I could shoot myself. I will discourage every person I know from buying one. I will tell them to have their old washer repaired as many times as possible so they will have clean clothes! It isnt just Whirlpool, but all the manufacturers who have chosen to make this horrible decision for us, housewives, and anyone else who does the laundry where they live. I used to enjoy doing my laundry, but now it is a nightmare. I will tell my friends who are the same age as I am that if they can still find a machine with an agitator to buy 1 or two of them so they wont have to deal with this type of problem for the rest of their lives. I realize that now I have to eat this washer since I have purchased it, but I can tell you one thing; if I could sell it for near the price I paid for it, I would do it in a heartbeat! Realizing whoever reads this; it wont matter one bit and probably will never reach the hands of the ones who couldn’t care less or do something about it, but at least I have made an attempt to help others in the future.

We bought a Whirlpool French door fridge model WRF989SDAM00 in 2013 and were impressed by how it looked in our kitchen. Its December 2015 and things have started to go wrong. First the freezer stopped freezing items completely and found out that ice had built up on the cooling tubes inside the rear freezer wall. Had to be taken apart and thawed with a heat gun. Now the freezer freezes on and off and the ice maker is not making ice properly and leaking all over the left side of the fridge. Went to Sears {place of purchase} and we were asked immediately if we had purchased the extended warranty. We hadnt and were told Sears could do nothing and that these newer fridges have a tendency to have trouble within the first couple of years and thats why they recommend the extended warranties. Really a $2500 dollar fridge a couple of years? Had a local appliance repairman look at it and he said the compressor was bad. $500.00 to fix. Boy do I regret buying this thing. These big companies just walk all over us consumers.

Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in J
Purchased our stainless steel Whirlpool Gold range hood microwave oven in January 2011. By August, there were problems. It was noisy. It would occasionally shut off for no apparent reason and eventually in August of that same year, it completely stopped heating. The magnetron was replaced at no charge because it was still under warranty. The microwave has continued to run very loudly, vibrate a lot and is still prone to random shutoffs. Now a little over 2 years later, it has now stopped heating again...I am assuming another bad magnetron. How is that possible? Our last microwave lasted for over 10 years! In fact we got rid of it when it was still working fine so we could get this one for over the range instead of on our countertop. So now I have a Whirlpool paper weight for which I originally paid $485. When I called Whirlpool, I was informed a service call would be $130.00 PLUS any necessary parts and labor costs OR I could purchase the repair plus 1-yr extended warranty for $289.95. Upon requesting to speak to a supervisor, I was informed that there were no flags in the system indicating any problems with this line of microwaves. I further inquired on how they are aware of problems... Essentially a phone call warrants little proof of any problem. A service tech would have to actually go out and witness that there is a problem for it to be noted. So, for those of us that simply decide to turn our back on the product and buy a new microwave, it would go undocumented by their company. My top-of-the-line microwave is less than 3 years old and has broken down again. Doesnt common sense tell you that there is a problem with the quality? I know Whirlpool has been around for 100+ years and I really want to like them, but if they dont support the consumers that purchased their products, I can no longer do the same for them.

We purchased a Whirlpool conquest from Lowes in 2009 and purchased a Lowes warranty. About 2 years ago we started seeing hairline cracks on most of the drawers and shelves. I complained about it last year and a lady from the Facebook page did offer 50% off new ones. Since then we have not been able to afford to get any, and today we lost our last shelf. If I wouldnt have checked it, it would have broke along with anything on the shelf. I have never seen such horrible parts. We have another small very old fridge that has help up better than this. At this point I will never buy another Whirlpool.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

Whirlpool gas range model WDF560SAFT bisque color, purchased in June 2020 from Home Depot online. After a 3.5 month wait range was delivered September 12, 2020 and installed. Have used the oven less than 5 times. Standing in my kitchen yesterday and heard a pinging noise, noticed chips of the finish all over my floor, it was chipping inside the top of the oven door, overnight the exterior top of the door was also chipping, bits of finish flying all over my kitchen! Have been on hold with Home a depot Cust. Serv. for almost 60 min. Will attempt to return to a Home Depot. Not sure what to do short of complaining about lousy Whirlpool product. Next time will come to Consumer Affairs and research.

Cabrio top load HE washer - Ive only had the washer a couple of years. My husband bought it for me thinking it would make washing more time efficient and energy saving. Lesson learned! After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. Whirlpool should be recalling.
