We live in Hawaii, so the price for our stacking closet size unit was exorbitant. It was over $1,000.00. It is small so the size of loads are small too. We bought one that is supposed to sense the load size and deliver the correct amount of water. It does NOT do this. Reviews online show complaints of this same nature. It does clean well but we have to do very small loads to get that.

After having the ice maker replaced on our 14-month old Whirlpool refrigerator, things seemed to be working fine for a while. However, now there are puddles appearing on the floor in front of the refrigerator. This is a freezer-on-the-bottom model and the ice maker is at the top so I was fairly certain it has nothing to do with the ice maker. Turns out there is something dripping into the back of the freezer and over time it builds up a giant ice sheet on the bottom of the freezer compartment. When the ice sheet gets large enough, the dripping water flows out onto the floor. Now Im going in every couple of weeks and chipping the big ice sheet off the bottom so it will stop leaking for several weeks. When I see puddles in front of our refrigerator I know its time to go chip the ice sheet out again. Seriously, I dont think Ive ever had a brand new, and expensive, appliance perform so badly. Whirlpool... never again.

When I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dry, I was told by the sales associate that this was the top of the line. I paid a higher price for what I thought was quality only to find out that this washing machine (WTW6600SW2) Serial number CU2973872 is in fact poor quality, made of components that are cheap, unreliable and made to last only as long as the initial warranty. Prior to buying Whirlpool, I owned Kenmore and had a washer and dry that raised four kids, now I own a Top of the line Cabrio that cant wash the clothes of two adults. I think it is funny that two days after the washer started sounding like a jet plane taking off during the spin cycle, I received your sign up for an extended warranty letter. Then I take the washer apart to locate the trouble and find it is a single bearing on the top of the drive shaft, but can I buy the bearing and replace it? No, I have to buy the entire outer tub and drive shaft. So a $10.00 bearing will now cost me $200.00. I am sure that helps your profit margins considering all you have to do is a search for Cabrio problems to find 350,000 hits, or to ask a professional technician and receive the reply that they are replacing 2-3 of these tub and drive shafts per week. I would recommend that Whirlpool tell its shareholders that you have compromised customer satisfaction to line their pockets with profits. If that was your intent then you have succeeded, however you need to also tell them to sell their shares now as you will have no return customers. Most corporations have core values that deal with safety first and then always followed by quality. I can say with confidence that your quality can be nowhere near the top five with this many problems with your top of the line product.

We purchased a Cabrio washer in August 2013, in early August 2014 we noticed that it was not getting all of the detergent out of the clothes (noticed it on the dark clothes after drying). We use less than the recommended amount of HE detergent and dilute it in the dispenser, also always use the extra rinse. We just had a Sears service man out at a $100 cost only to find out that he gets these calls all of the time and the machine is operating at the factory settings. After reporting the problem to Whirlpool all I got was we are sorry and a link to how to operate the washer. In the demonstration video it clearly shows that the water level never covers the clothes. I know Im old school but in my opinion the water should cover the clothes so it can properly wet and agitate the items in the washer. To say I am less than satisfied is a gross understatement. Im out the cost of the washer plus an additional $100 and after a year of ownership and contacting Whirlpool less than a week after the factory warranty ran out all I get is an Im sorry you do not know how to operate a washer.

My Whirlpool is reliable, however it does not have a soaking cycle which I would enjoy having. It also has an unbalancing problem when speeding if I attempt to wash heavy loads on the extra large load cycle. However, it responds very well on large loads for heavy washing. Shortly after I got it the timing had to be replaced, but no problems since then. Overall pound for pound for the dollar it is a good machine.

Whirlpool 27 cu.ft french door bottom mount WrF989SDAH White - We took delivery of this ice making fridge mid-September from Sears Canada. 3 weeks later we have ice at the ceiling/wall seam at the back inside the fridge. Water collects along the rubber seal of the freezer drawer which we have to mop up. We said we were not going to use the water/ice maker and its not even hooked up. Water comes down through the water dispenser onto the panel which we also mop up. Moisture in fridge. Temp settings are as factory specified. Whirlpool authorized tech guy gave us the inside info. Hes seen so many design problems with this model and what Whirlpool do is order the tech guys to say to customers we can order the parts and fix it. Whirlpool keep discovering and modifying the problems but you are not allowed a refund off the bat because the tech guys authorized & sent out by Whirlpool are not allowed to give a report to the retailer or say its design defective. So the customer has shelled out money and has to have band-aids left, right and center. Went to Sears to ask for a refund. They refused because tech guy wont give a report to them (but what do we really know eh? Because the tech guy stood in my kitchen and gave a verbal report to Sears but nothing written). So Im in the hole for a crap product that is only a few weeks old and Whirlpool and Sears have got us over a barrel. The tech guy said he was going to challenge their tech line now because hes upset at how many of these band-aid fridges hes seeing now. I want a different brand and model and cant have it because Sears dont have it. In dire straits now.

We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

I bought this appliance 9 months ago and it has broke 4 times now for the exact same reason. I have set aside 6 separate 4 hour windows for Diamond Factory service to come repair it. All four times, it has been repaired improperly or diagnosed as “nothing wrong with it”. My refrigerator constantly runs, eventually forms an ice wall of back of freezer, and then eventually ice gets so thick to where it stops regulating temperature. All four times, I have had to throw away all my food, defrost the fridge on my brand new hardword floors, and take off work so I can be home for these 4 hour window “service repairs”. They refuse to replace the appliance. UNBELIEVABLE. Never purchasing from Whirlpool or Home Depot in Sunset Hills again.

3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basement from the said water heater. When I entered the basement, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basement and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basement from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basement, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

While it looks 10 times better than my old dirty dishwasher it replaced, its main function of washing dishes is 1/4 the of the quality after running two or three times. Not to mention the average cycle time is 4-8 hrs. Dishwashers by design, should be convenient and save time. Right at 18 months ago, we bought the Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer. The last washer we had was the bottom of the barrel Whirlpool model and it lasted 8 years. So, I had no problem purchasing the brand. But now, our washer wont go through the cycles and we hare having lid lock issues. The repair guy said the lid lock was fine which I thought was good news because he said it would be $300 to replace including his service call. Now, it looks like our choice is a $350 motherboard, or a new washer. Whats wrong with this picture? I can go to Lowes right now and buy a used one (exactly the same for $399), pay $350 to repair my two-year-old $750 washer, or buy a different washer? Its hard to believe that a $750 washer is only good for 2 years.

Out of warranty, slab of ice forms every few weeks in bottom of freezer. I have to take a butter knife and chisel it out to prevent having to defrost the entire freezer. This is clearly not isolated as after reading online and this forum, it is a manufacturing DEFECT that should be fixed at no charge to the consumer. It was delivered and installed by the retailer that sold the brand - however it sounds that Whirlpool would rather lose customers to other brands - trust me I just bought a stove and bet your sweet behind it was NOT a Whirlpool. Neither will the replacement for this piece of crap be once I can scrounge up the money.

My Whirlpool Duet washer was purchased on August 2006. The first one had to be replaced as it flooded my laundry room on the first floor and the basement – not once but twice. When I was told that they would send yet another service person out to try and fix it, I told them it would be at the curb and that I was looking forward to filing a lawsuit. Then after being on hold for forever and getting the company that sold me the unit involved, they replaced the washer at no charge. From day one I hated this washer machine. If you failed to take the clothes out immediately after washing, they would get a musty type odor and I never felt the clothes got cleaned enough. Yesterday, I went to empty a load of laundry and it was soaking wet with water pooling in the bottom of the barrel. Today, I had a certified Whirlpool tech come and look at the washer and he told me to put it at the curb as the rear bearing is shot and needed to be replaced. He also told me not to buy another front loader and the cost of the repair would be approximately $800.Thank you to Whirlpool for manufacturing a true hunk of crap that, may I say, cost me $1300. I will make sure I tell everyone I know that your products are crap and I would rather wash my clothes by hand. I did call the WP customer service number and was told that this is unheard of and that these machines rarely have any problems. After just reading multiple complaints of the exact same problem, I now know that this product is inferior and the design of the bearing assembly is seriously flawed. A major recall is probably in the near future and Whirlpool is hoping that most people will just dump them before the recall is made public.

The heating elements do not heat hot enough so that the machine gets a higher efficiency rating. I bought this washer (model WTW7800XW) on 12/23/2010. Never happy with its performance from the beginning. Within the first 18 months, the lid hinge completely rusted and broke. The repairman stated that the hinges and glass lid would need to be replaced at a cost of over $400. We paid $899 for the washer. Instead of paying that much, not knowing if it would only last another 18 months, we removed both hinges and removed the lid manually to use the washer. After complaining to Whirlpool about the problem, they thanked me for the info so they could use it for the future. The latest problem to arise is the light inside the washer. The mount for the light was made of steel and has completely rusted away, so the light is just hanging inside the washer. Whirlpool needs to step up and resolve the issue with an extended warranty for these machines.

NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

We got a french door Whirlpool refrigerator about 15 months ago. Model Wrf757sdem01. There were problems from day one. Serviced about 6 times by 3 different companies... Died again less than 2 weeks ago. Finally the store decided to replace it. Was under an extended warranty. We have been without a fridge for over 10 days. It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. I hope we do not have to regret our replacement one which still is not installed! By the way the water filters have to be replaced to the tune of 100.00 a year. We are not going to use an icemaker or get water from the new one.

I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool product
I am writing to you all today to urge you to not purchase Whirlpool products specifically Whirlpool 2-cu ft High-Efficiency Front-Load Washer. I purchased a front loader washing machine for our tenants through Sears back in June of 2013. When it was hooked up it had an error code on it so we contacted Sears and 3 weeks later they sent out a repairman telling us it needed a new motor (this machine had not even washed 1 load of laundry). They ordered the part and Sears paid 1200 to replace a part on an 800.00 washer.....yeah I know dumb right. Well the part replacement did not work. (Surprised) They ordered and delivered a new washer 1 month later....same error code. Lets try again with another washer......same error code. How about another one......water would not stop running into the machine because the sensor was broken. Wait we are not done how about another one.....same error code. No I am not kidding, 10 months later 5 washing machines and my tenants have yet to have been able to wash a single load of laundry. I have been reimbursing my tenants every month for not having a washer for the past 10 months. I finally had Sears reimburse for the washer which they will pick up soon. I am out all the interest for the past 10 months for a product never used. To top it all off I called Whirlpool directly to see if they would be willing to at least give me a coupon for any amount toward the purchase of a different washer. They told me quote We dont do anything to compensate our customer for their troubles. That is the icing on the cake folks!!! I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and I encourage you all to not as well. I want to show them how not caring for their customers can impact them. Please share if you can, but more importantly please pass the word!!!!!

We too have nothing but problems with our supposedly top of the line convection/microwave oven. Purchased in 2010 in February for new kitchen. From start, original microwave installed did not work, would not cook or heat. Dealer replaced. One year later, same problem, but now out of warranty. Had to pay labor, costs, and parts to get fixed. Fast forward 13 months, again magnetron needs replaced, microwave will not work. What a hunk of junk for our money. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again, and I will tell everyone I know the same. When you call customer service, they are nice but only say “too bad, out of warranty”. What a joke for a major appliance company to tell customers. It is obvious that this microwave is faulty from the get go, and they just keep on making them the same way and not trying to fix the problem.

Have owned my Whirlpool washer model# LSR 701 0PQ1 two years and had no problems with it before today... The washer was used once a week since I purchased it and only myself use it. There is only myself and my son and our loads are always small. Well today I put a load in and went to finish my other housework and when I went to check on the load, there was a weird smell in my laundry room. As I approach the washer to put softener in the rinse I saw a flash behind on the left hand side of the control panel where the size of load and water temperature selection is. I unplugged the washer and put the fire out. Have never had anything happen like this before with this brand. I already know I have to buy another washer but am scared to get another Whirlpool.

I have had our new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer for about a year. I absolutely hate it. I along with all the other people that is complaining about their Cabrio. I have found it to stain my clothes, not get them clean... Sometimes not even get part of them wet. I wash every load now no matter how small on the deep water option. I still have to add about 3 to 6 gals of water after it fills to try to help them get as clean as I possible can. I have stopped using fabric softener because I believe that is what may be leaving the stains on the clothes because it doesnt dilute it. Also you cant soak clothes in the washer long enough. I know it offers a presoak but when the clothes are not getting wet... That is not soaking. I tried to fill it up and raise the lid so it wouldnt wash until I was ready for it to wash but it automatically emptied the tub after a short time.It is funny watching the clothes when washing... Even I could tell they were not going to be washed well. I thought who in the world developed this washer. Certainly no one that had ever really considered what women need to wash clothes on a daily basis. I would sell it but I dont think anyone would buy it. If there is a class action suit I would consider joining in. Whirlpool could not have spent much effort in checking this washer out. A lot of money down the drain. I did not buy the dryer because of the lint vent being on top of it. What a mess those make when you have to empty it. So I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL. Now that is a wonderful dryer! As one homemaker to another I suggest you check it out. Never had one I liked more.

I am posting to help anyone else avoid the purchase of this machine! The lid has cracked and now warped into a position where it wont stay down. Obviously a washer will not work without being in the locked position, so we have to put several heavy things on top of it just to run a load of laundry. This is not what we expect out of a washer that we paid $900 for only two years ago!!!! We contacted Whirlpool and they offered to fix it for $350. REALLY??? I SHOULD NOT have to pour money into a washer this expensive after two years!!!! I am so disappointed in Whirlpool, this was the entire reason we purchased Whirlpool products, to avoid stress of broken appliances. Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? Bought this because it was a Whirlpool product and liked how it was supposed to work at the store, HhGregg in Downingtown. Anyway one week in we started having problems, clothes not being washed well, and constant problems of dripping wet clothes, like they were never spun at all. Would have to readjust all the clothes, respin, most times we have to that that every time we wash clothes and have to respin more than once and even then, clothes have too much water left in them, so it takes forever to get our clothes dry. We have a service contract with Sears, we have repairmen out a few times. Get told, dont wash towels in it, only do very small loads, supposed to be a large capacity washer, nothing wrong with it. Now its worse than ever, terrible product. I want a different washer, its rusting at the lid, its only at the most 2 yrs old, it was expensive and am very, very frustrated!!! I want what I paid For!!! Whirlpool, shame on you for putting out such crap.On to my next problem with a Whirlpool range, again bought it because it was a Whirlpool. We had our Kitchen remodeled and the range I had was white. We needed a stainless steel range, Bought the Gold series AquaLift convection oven. This is the most horrible piece of crap. The convection oven does not cook as a convection should, food takes forever to cook on convection, reg feature works faster and hotter than the convection. In my old range I used the convection feature always unless I was baking a cake. Then used the AquaLift feature to clean my oven, it was not dirty , but I like a sparkling oven, so followed the directions, set it to clean. It looked the same after it supposedly cleaned the oven. Nothing was cleaned, tried it again, it was a little more dirty, something had spilled. I wiped out the oven, used the AquaLift self cleaning feature again, same results, old oven, self clean, the oven after a cleaning cycle, only ash was left, wipe it out, it was spotless. So I called for repair, the repair guy was here about 5-6 different times, tried this and that, replaced a heating element in the oven, turned the temperature up in the oven, so now when I bake, I have to figure out what temp I need to put it on. Tried that, even admitted that the AquaLift feature was a bust. I contacted Whirlpool, I want it replaced with a different model. This range is about I and a half years old, want to replace it but again was very expensive. Its a terrible product, it cant be a coincidence, that both newer appliances made by Whirlpool are terrible!!!! Combined they cost me almost 3000.00 dollars. I feel that I have been ripped off definitely did not get the great products that I thought I was buying. No response from Whirlpool, no satisfaction. I want them both replaced or my money back, take them out of here, they are useless!!!!! I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again, and have told everyone I know about the terrible quality of these products.

We purchased a KitchenAid KFIS29PBMS00 in August of 2013. By March of 2014 it had stopped freezing and producing ice. Sent out a technician (mind you each technician has to come twice, once to diagnose and then to repair). They determined that all of the panels and ice maker needed replaced. Did so with no resolution. Placed another call. This technician determined that the compressor was bad. Installed a new one on April 10th. The fridge worked for 30 days. Stopped freezing and producing ice. Placed the 3rd service call. Was told that the new compressor was bad. Technician showed up on June 5th to replace it but did not have one with him. He was told by Whirlpool that they had discovered a wiring problem and that if the Serial number begins with K322 -K335 yours is one of them. We are K324. He ran a serious tests and contacted Whirlpool. I was told it is not in Whirpools hands. LUCKY ME NOT. It is now June 19th, I have made 2 additional calls to KitchenAid after not hearing anything back was told that I was in the process of receiving a new fridge and that I would get a phone call. After nothing I called back again. After 47 minutes I was transferred to a Supervisor. According to her while we were on the phone, she ordered a new refrigerator. I purchased a Whirlpool gas stove model #WFG540H0AH from Sears in March 2103. Since that time, the oven has repeatedly broken. After two major repairs, the repair company said the fas venue (?) suspect board was defective and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. After 3 weeks of back and forth calls with Whirlpool customer service, the only solution they provided was for me to purchase a new stove at a discount with no compensation for installation, the gas connection kit, or haul-away of the old appliance. The original stove cost me $1100 including the installation, haul-away and taxes. The replacement option would have cost me $800 and still did not included haul-away, the gas installation kit, or taxes. Hardly an affordable solution. Whirlpool at no time addressed that a part on the stove was deemed defective.

I bought a Whirlpool/Fridge Freezer Model WRF560SMYM 01, less that two years ago. Two months ago it started making a terrible noise. Apparently the freezer was iced up and a mechanic defrosted it. It happened twice more and he left saying he could not fix it. Another arrived and took the model number and he disappeared. A third the same. Now I have an empty freezer, just an ice maker. It seems to not freeze up so quickly with the moisture control on. Over $2,000 down the drain unless somebody can fix it. Oh and the fridge gets very cold! Does anyone have any ideas apart from throwing it out and buying another? Never another Whirlpool!

Sounds crazy, but the outside of my stainless steel door is all dented. I live alone and one day noticed that it looks like someone body slammed my fridge. Is there air in the door panels that could be escaping or something like that? Anyone hear of this?

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator 8 months ago model # WRF560SEXM which is less than a year old and already Im experiencing problems already. I have owned several refrigerators in the past which were older models and less sophisticated, and all of them lasted well over 10 years with no major issues, so to buy a new refrigerator through Whirlpool and have it malfunction in less than a year is unacceptable. Customers deserves better than this especially at these prices. My malfunction occurred when my ice maker stopped working and the internal temperature stopped working altogether, which caused all my food to spoil which had to replaced which was very expensive which infuriated me more and because my service appointment was a week away. I LITERALLY had to order out for food and purchase ice. And if this happens again I will have replace food and order food out again. WHIRLPOOL dont realize the impact this has on its customers. I would definitely not recommend their refrigerators EVER!!!

I used my self cleaning oven feature and the fuse blew, leaving my oven with no electric current. I had to replace the fuse at a cost of almost $300 two months after the one year warranty of the oven expired. The technician suggested I no longer use the self cleaning feature since it will continue to melt the fuse wire. The oven becomes too hot, so I have an oven that I paid for with a feature I cannot use. I would not recommend this product.

Some years ago I bought a whirlpool water heater from Lowes and the thermocouple went out. No big deal, so I thought. I went to Lowes, picked up a new one and tried to replace it. It wouldnt thread even though the package stated it was for my model. I went back to Lowes and they gave me another one, same problem. So I called Whirlpool, they said it was a left handed thread and they discontinued it, but they could send me a conversion kit at my cost. So at that point I was 2 wks out so I paid for the kit. I received the same thing I bought from Lowes. I was so frustrated I ripped the thing out and got a new one. That was 2 yrs ago and now I am having the same problem. I called whirlpool and they want me to pay for the replacement part. Mind you, the heater has a 6-yr warranty. I went to Lowes and they wont replace it. They sell items that they dont stand behind. I will never buy another whirlpool item and I will never shop at Lowes again.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio in 2009. It worked so-so over the years but recently stopped completing cycles, citing false load balance errors and leaving towels and sheets sopping wet at the end of a cycle. Three repair appointments later, and still no success. I am thoroughly disgusted that such an expensive machine only lasts four years. Based on the service techs attitude toward the machine and other consumer comments, Im guessing I will have to replace it. You can guess it will not be with a Whirlpool machine!

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!

We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher when we learned that my daughter and two children would be living with us for an extended time. We bought it a couple of months before they came. During that time I used it maybe four or five times as there are only two of us and didnt need to use it. Since they arrived in early June, the dishwasher malfunctioned almost immediately. Talking with their representative was useless and frustrating. The only words she seemed to know were circuit breaker. That is where the conversation started and ended despite my assurances that it had nothing to do with a circuit breaker. We wrangled round and round to no avail. This company used to be an American standard. Now it is a class A maker of junk.

Bought a Whirlpool dishwasher approx. 3 years ago from Home Depot and it just quit working. Troubleshooting did nothing. Called Whirlpool to make sure there was no recalls on it. I have owned many Whirlpool appliances and bought this last one because of past good experience. Turns out, after $300 plus repair, it was the control panel. The repairman said, This should not have happened, it is like new. I asked him if he thought it was a lemon? He just looked down, it happens. I am so disappointed in the quality of Whirlpool. I no longer can just buy their products with confidence.

Whirlpool water heaters are a disgrace!!!! I have never been so dissatisfied in my life with a product. I bought this water heater 11/2017. Three months later, it was not working. Whirlpool sent an igniter and I had a technician to put it on. This was a short fix because it broke down 2 weeks later. I called customer service and of course they gave me the runaround. I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product. This company is the worst.

We bought our Whirlpool washer and dryer set through a PX at Fort Hood, Texas. Took it home, plugged it in and... nothing. Called the service desk, and they sent a repairman right away. He replaced the panel and the water intake fuse (I think? It was a fuse that dealt with the water filling) and then we were off and running. I thought, Great! Now I can wash laundry! After about a couple months, the washer would be so stinking loud in the spin cycle, we would plan outside activities ha ha. Fast forward 2 years, the loud sound continues, but Ive not had any problems. Then, Im washing a load of bed sheets, and just happen to walk past the washer while its spinning... I smelled something HOT and BURNING! Sure enough, it was the washer! I hurried and stopped the spin and unplugged the machine. Opened the door to pull out my sheets, and white smoke comes pouring out of the machine. IT NEARLY STARTED A HOUSE FIRE. I was praising God I smelled the problem. Who knows what would have happened. So I call an appliance shop I trust. They send out a guy who tells me I might as well purchase a new machine because the bearing is bad, and the repair is going to cost $600+. Never again, Whirlpool. Never again. You dont endanger my familys safety in exchange for a quick buck on cheap parts. Ridiculous. And, now that I am reading all these reviews on this website about my washer, I am floored. How is there not a class action lawsuit against this company? Mold and fire-hazards are serious infractions, in my opinion.

I purchased my Cabrio Whirlpool washer five years ago. In the past two months I have had three service calls for repairs. I had water leaking out from underneath the machine which was the result of a failed drum seal. Now I get a ul message (there was one blouse being washed on delicate) and the washer is making a terrible banging sound. I dont think it is spinning. I have not been happy with this washer. My previous washer was 30 years old.

I am old school & do not like the idea that I cannot open my machine without waiting until it slows to a stop before door will unlock. You do not know what level your water is unless opening door. You are not able to open door & see if you need more detergent. Water softener is the same -- do I need more/less, cant tell. But, the washer performs well & clothes are clean, even dirty jeans/work clothes.

People should consider themselves lucky to get 2 yrs, 1yr, 6 mos out of these pieces of junk. Mine replaced an 8 year old Bradford White that was originally installed when the house was built. Funny thing, we had the exact same BW in our last house. Same problem after exactly 8 years - tank leaked. Anyway, this Whirlpool 40 gal gas was installed by a professional plumber ($200) and ran fine for 6 days before the pilot went out the 1st time. In the next 10 days it went out 9 more times until it wouldnt stay lit at all. I would light the pilot and it would be out in 5 min or less. I watched for the error code the last time - 2 flashes which indicated thermocouple low voltage. This is totally ridiculous. After research - which I should have done before I bought - it looks like a total bad design problem with associated customer service nightmares and much additional cost to the customer. AND EVERYONE WHO MAKES AND SELLS THESE THINGS KNOWS ABOUT IT. Attempting to fix this thing - even IF labor was included - looks like throwing good money after bad. When are these companies going to be held accountable for producing cheap poorly designed products and then let the consumer foot the cost of labor and/or replacement. You can say all you want about less government but this is just a small example of what you get when you have less government. Doing further research, it looks like NO manufacturer of gas water heaters can produce a reliable product now. So now, Im installing a Bradford White ELECTRIC water heater. Thats and extra $250 for the electrical service that needs to go in. AND additional for the actual install by a plumber. At least Lowes is not giving me a hard time about getting all my money back for the Whirlpool since its less than 30 days since the purchase. I guess I should consider myself lucky it malfunctioned almost immediately. Total out of pocket on the initial Whirlpool install: $560. Total out of pocket with reinstall of BW Electric: $1000. My time spent on this mess: priceless. At least we will have hot water, even though it will cost more per month in electricity to do it. Thanks Whirlpool - stay classy.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Lowes 3 short years ago. Within the first year, it needed a new main board. Now just 2 years later, it needs another main board. On October 29, 2009, we bought a new Whirlpool 30 gallon gas hot water heater to replace a Rheem we had for 20 years. We immediately had problems with the relief valve leaking, so we ran at the local hardware store and bought another valve. Next, we had trouble lighting it (husband was a plumber years ago) but a call to the hotline and we were in business. Now just over 3 years later, the pilot light started to cut off at will. Troubleshooting solved nothing. We called the hotline again and were given a part number, an authorization number and told to go back to Lowes for a replacement part. Figuring how our luck runs, I called first and was told there was no such part number. Trip saved. Now after reading all of these reviews, we have decided to cut our losses and buy another Rheem. You can find the Whirlpool hot water heater sitting beside our 2-year-old Kenmore HE washing machine (also made by Whirlpool) on the garbage pile. No more Whirlpool!
