I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool refrigerator. It is four years old and has had two owners, including myself. It has the stainless steel look and has top to bottom french doors, one side is the freezer and the other the refrigerator. Both sides are equally the same size. It has a filtered water dispenser and ice maker in the door. Id say for the price it is a really good value.

I purchased the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II dishwasher, Model DU1055XTVQ0, Serial # FY3762359. The racks are cheaply made and rusting! Almost all of the tips on the racks are rusting, causing them to corrode and break off completely! This dishwasher is well under 5 years old. Not sure what we paid for this machine but the racks should not be doing this after this short length of time. They shouldnt be doing this after any length of time.I called Whirlpools customer support center today and was told there is nothing they could do. The support agent asked if I had hard water, if so, that could be causing the problem (I dont have hard water). The agent stated that they do not cover rusting racks nor would they replace them, now I see why. They are expensive to replace. As of now, I will not be buying another Whirlpool appliance - ever! They just lost a dissatisfied customer due to their very poor quality and customer service.

This machine (Cabrio) is a piece of junk. It does not fill up with enough water to cover the clothes, even on deep wash and your detergent will still be sitting on top at end of wash and clothes are not clean. It was a $900.00 machine. We need to file a class action law suit. Worthless waste of money. Anyone know of any remedies to get a new machine from Whirlpool or of any class action suits?

Very disappointed with this product as well as Whirlpools handling of the situation. I purchased this item 9/15. Its now 10/16 and the plastic that surrounds the glass on the shelves has cracked on 3 of the 4 shelves. The company will not replace because the warranty time has run out. The cost to replace and ship is around $500.00. Big disappointment.

People should consider themselves lucky to get 2 yrs, 1yr, 6 mos out of these pieces of junk. Mine replaced an 8 year old Bradford White that was originally installed when the house was built. Funny thing, we had the exact same BW in our last house. Same problem after exactly 8 years - tank leaked. Anyway, this Whirlpool 40 gal gas was installed by a professional plumber ($200) and ran fine for 6 days before the pilot went out the 1st time. In the next 10 days it went out 9 more times until it wouldnt stay lit at all. I would light the pilot and it would be out in 5 min or less. I watched for the error code the last time - 2 flashes which indicated thermocouple low voltage. This is totally ridiculous. After research - which I should have done before I bought - it looks like a total bad design problem with associated customer service nightmares and much additional cost to the customer. AND EVERYONE WHO MAKES AND SELLS THESE THINGS KNOWS ABOUT IT. Attempting to fix this thing - even IF labor was included - looks like throwing good money after bad. When are these companies going to be held accountable for producing cheap poorly designed products and then let the consumer foot the cost of labor and/or replacement. You can say all you want about less government but this is just a small example of what you get when you have less government. Doing further research, it looks like NO manufacturer of gas water heaters can produce a reliable product now. So now, Im installing a Bradford White ELECTRIC water heater. Thats and extra $250 for the electrical service that needs to go in. AND additional for the actual install by a plumber. At least Lowes is not giving me a hard time about getting all my money back for the Whirlpool since its less than 30 days since the purchase. I guess I should consider myself lucky it malfunctioned almost immediately. Total out of pocket on the initial Whirlpool install: $560. Total out of pocket with reinstall of BW Electric: $1000. My time spent on this mess: priceless. At least we will have hot water, even though it will cost more per month in electricity to do it. Thanks Whirlpool - stay classy.

Buyer beware. There was a class action lawsuit filed for our Whirlpool dishwasher some years ago. The control panel shorted and or overheated on ours in February of 2021, causing it to emit white plastic smelling smoke. (Glad we were home when we ran it.) I opened the door to turn it off and it continued to run, smoke and spray water all over the kitchen. Called Fire Department. Filed a complaint with Whirlpool. They sent a repair person to inspect and take photos. Its been 6 weeks and still have not received a call from them. I bought a Frigidaire. It is made by Electrolux. FYI, Kenmore is also made by Whirlpool.

Whirlpool under-counter dishwasher (model DU1345XTVB0) was purchased 14 months ago. Upper rack plastic adjustable wheel rack is broken. Will not replace. Dishwasher has probable design flaw with wheel positions causing overhanging load to put extreme stress on outer two wheels. The design was done to save money instead of having telescoping rails as most dishwashers do. Explained this. They will not even send a part. Many other Whirlpool dishwashers use these parts. Probable class action suit material.

My model # is WTW4800BQO. Purchased 05/20/14 and, under warranty, had repair come several times and they finally supposedly replaced the brain of machine and said nothing further could be done. So all this time I operate the machine manually - timing everything from wash to spin. On all cycles I have to manually - actually turn off machine when first wash is completed and reset to rinse and spin otherwise it only partially fills and drops the water right away on the 1st rinse (besides also dropping water on 2nd rinse). Also I came home one day, after completing a wash load earlier, and found the machine filling up with water automatically so now I always have to be sure the machine is unplugged when washing is completed.

My dishwasher was only 18 months old when the rack adjuster broke causing the top rack to collapse. I researched and was able to order the replacement part which now comes only in metal. (The original Whirlpool piece was cheap plastic.) I spent $40 for the new part and spent several hours installing it without any help from Whirlpool. Then when I tried to use my dishwasher it wouldn’t run. Repair person came out and diagnosed it with a pump assembly failure. Part alone was $222 and it was on back order. Extremely disappointed. I have tried to contact Whirlpool to see if they would at least offer me a discount on the part. Their customer service number is never available. On hold for so long I finally gave up. Maybe I just got a lemon but I will not go with any Whirlpool product again.

Found meat juice running out of freezer. Called serviceman out 5 times. He told me every time it was fixed. Finally, after 3 months it was fixed. I had to throw out all my meat but of course Whirlpool would never cover any replacements. I will never buy a Whirlpool refrigerator again. If they dont have a Q.C. Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

There is no water so clothes dont come clean, and if you leave money in the pockets no worries. As it will be right there after the clothes are washed and dried (got matching dyer also). I brought a whirlpool dishwasher in 2013. It never did clean dishes, had to wash them by hand before putting them in dishwasher. Had someone come out and check it. He told me I was using wrong type of soap, so I changed. That didn’t do a thing. Now I have mold growing in the dishwasher because the tub is cracked all around the inside. Called whirlpool, of course they couldn’t do anything about it. Have never heard of dishwasher cracking. So today, Lowes came out and took picture of crack that is where I brought it. So am waiting to find out what is going to happen. Will not ever buy whirlpool again and will tell all my friends.

My Whirlpool range, was purchased 14 years ago. It was fine until 2 months ago. I was preparing a meal for a dinner party and the oven went from low baking into Clean mode. (This cant be done by accident, it is many step process to go into clean mode) Locking the door! When I realized what was happening I immediately turned the breaker off but we still could not open the range door. Since the oven had my potato casserole and my Teflon coated cookie sheets inside it started to emit a toxic smell choking all of us inside the house. The unit was too hot to touch so my husband and brother-in-law finally donned gloves and got the range outside. I called Whirlpool the next morning and got the run around as to what type of range it was Kenmore/Whirlpool. Whirlpool finally sent someone out to look at the range and their determination was it caught on fire and melted! The company will not do anything about the unit or all the damage it cause because the range is over 10 years old. But they did not tell me this until I had spent weeks getting estimates and gathering information for them. I TOLD THEM DURING THE INITIAL CALL THE RANGE WAS 14 YEARS OLD. I TOLD THEM THE EXACT DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. Whirlpool sent me a letter from their Claims Resolution Department saying my DISHWASHER will not be covered and misspelling my last name. I have tried to call the person ** at least 25 times and she never answers the phone, only get her voicemail. I just wanted to tell them I was a little concerned about their accuracy with the typing of the name and product..... How complete could the investigation have been if they didnt even get the product correct. The smoke/smell ruined my microwave and ceiling fan. We had to paint the ceiling, redo wallpaper and professionally clean all the carpets and drapes on my first floor (we had just remodeled our kitchen last May so this was an expensive redo not in the budget. Not to mention the cost of a new range). I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool again. And I want to spread the word about the possibility of your range having the same problem.

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

I am a Whirlpool Privilege Member - IFB privilege number **. This is Mrs ** here and I possess two Whirlpool Fridges, one single door and one double door (Elite Model). In fact, all my family members have Whirlpool refrigerators because I recommended them and because I have had a very satisfying experience with your service until now.I recently (first week of March) logged a complaint as my fridge was not working (it was working on and off). The Mechanic from the service center visited us and said that the compressor was at fault. I had some doubt about this as the Fridge was working on and off and I requested my friend who had a workshop to come and have a look. He checked and said that the compressor was working perfectly but looked like there was some problem in the supply of current which could be a loose contact or something. So I logged another complaint and when the mechanic came (this time a different one), I was out of the country and my husband was there in the house. He checked the fridge and said the compressor was working and apologized for the earlier mechanic’s wrong diagnosis. He also said that it was difficult that since the wires were inside the beading or the Puff, or whatever, the fridge could not be repaired.I am really astonished and pained by this comment by the mechanic as we spent a lot of money and bought a fridge for its brand worth name. I shudder to think if this complaint had happened two years after I brought it, should I simply throw the fridge because it cant be repaired? Is there anything at all where the company can say it can’t be repaired? Are fridges used and thrown in India? I am all the more worried because I have been recommending Whirlpool Fridges left and right to everyone and I tell them that there could be a situation when Whirlpool would ask you to simply throw your fridge away. I still have belief in Whirlpool and I firmly believe my recommendations would not go wrong, and it is only the fault of the mechanic who could have made this remark unwittingly.

Aqualift is a Joke. We recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased a new Whirlpool range model #WFE710HOAE. It came with a feature called Aqualift Technology to clean the oven. The button you push to start it says Aqualift Self-Cleaning. I followed the simple directions and when it was finished I was surprised to find that nothing was clean. I tried it again with the same results. I had to then clean some of it with the enclosed scrubbing pad. You cannot use any cleaners except one that they also send a small sample of. In short, it was like the old days cleaning my mothers oven with a scrub pad and a lot of elbow grease. I spent 30 minutes getting it somewhat clean. I am so disappointed and mad that Whirlpool can just blatantly mislead consumers this way. No one wants to buy an expensive product such as this and have to clean it by hand. You get as good a result if you do not even use Aqualift. My last range lasted 20 years and all you had to do was take a wet cloth and wipe out the residue. Whirlpool is at best incompetent and at worse criminal and purposely misleading with this and other similar models and should recall or be forced to recall and replace these with a working technology. I am surprised that the Federal Government has not stepped in. I would be very supportive and would participate in a class action lawsuit on this matter. As I stated in the beginning, this product is a joke.

I am writing to inform you of my dissatisfaction with the Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer I purchased in December of 2011. The model and serial numbers are YWED94HEXL0/M12602088 and WFW94HEXL2/c12350046. After using them for several months, I have found that the performance of the washer and dryer to be poor. I find the clothes do not come out very clean. I used my mother-in-law’s GE washer to compare and found that the clothes came out much cleaner in her washer. I was astonished at the difference. The white clothes, especially, were so much cleaner than in my washer in which white clothes, especially, come out looking like they have not even been washed. I am unhappy with the dryer as well, which continues to shrink my clothes a lot. I am distraught with this situation as this was a big purchase for me. I believe the quality of the washer and dryer is simply poor and I would like an exchange with a better quality set which actually cleans my clothes. I rely heavily on my washer/dryer as I have three young boys who go through a lot of clothes. Please let me know what can be done on your end. Thank you kindly.

Purchased this dishwasher in January 2012, and it stopped working in May 2015. We replaced thermal fuse a year ago and just had to replace the control panel. It worked for 1 day and through 2 wash cycles, but during the 3rd wash cycle, it failed to drain and no power again, which is the same problem we had before. We opted to also replace the control board, just to be safe. Lol. What a piece of junk! Whirlpool is a pathetic excuse for a company, and, judging from others experiences with the customer service department, we will not bother contacting these ** since they clearly have no interest in providing any service at all to their customers. I have had many other lower end dishwasher models, and all of them worked well past the 5 - 10 year mark and never stopped working or required any service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER APPLIANCE FROM WHIRLPOOL AND HAVE SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE I KNOW. Good luck, Whirlpool. I do not expect they will be around in 10 years. Lol. I purchased a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater in September of 2008. The unit had a 12-year warranty on the tank and on December 24th 2011, I discovered that the water heater sprung a leak somewhere in the tank shell; not the pressure relief or thermostat or anode port. The tank was never abused and operated well within its design limits. It is simply a piece of junk that lasted about 27% of its expressed life. I purchased the tank at Lowes and went for the longest tank warranty to reduce replacement intervals. I shall never purchase anything with a Whirlpool affiliation. The model number is EE3J40RDO45V with serial number 0741106580.

I purchased a new Whirlpool 3.6-cu ft Top-Load Washer (White-On-White) Mode
I purchased a new Whirlpool 3.6-cu ft Top-Load Washer (White-On-White) Model #: WTW4800BQ from Lowes on 11/1/14, which was only 3 ½ years ago. The washer began making noise during the spin cycle so we called for service. The technician claimed that the bearing pack needed to be replaced and the repair would cost $400. This amount is $20 higher than the amount I paid to purchase the washer. Because the warranty is only one year, I contacted Whirlpool today and spoke with a representative. The representative said they could repair it under the warranty. When I asked how to proceed, she then asked me if I had an extended warranty. When I replied that if I had an extended warranty, I would be using it. She declined any assistance. I now have to purchase a new washer after only 3 and ½ years. I own 10 rentals. I promise that none of them will ever include a Whirpool product again.

I have been TRYING replace a damaged panel on a $10,000.00 Jenn-Air refrigerator for over 10 months now!! Whirlpool is the supplier of Jenn-Air - I have probably spent at least 3 HOURS on the phone talking with one rep after another who ASSURES me they will deal with my problem!! Last week I gave my credit card # to the rep - who told me my part was sitting there, waiting for my # to be shipped. When I asked why no one had called me to let me know, especially considering the amount of time I have been waiting - she said she didnt know. One week later, I call AGAIN to find out why my credit card does not show the payment. Only this time to talk to a fellow who says my part is still on backorder, and they used my card # to put a $1.00 charge against it - to hold it for when my part arrives.. BUT has NO IDEA when that may be! I feel Angry, totally discouraged, lied to, and used! I will NEVER purchase any appliances under the Whirlpool affiliate. This is abhorrent customer service - a $10,000.00 appliance and this is how it is dealt with!!! Bad, very bad!!

We purchased a WRF989SDAM03 model French door refrigerator in September. A month later it began to make grinding noises when running. The noises got louder until it sounded like a car idling. We called for service, and the technician diagnosed a failing compressor. They replaced the compressor with some difficulty. Three days later we lost cooling. They replaced the compressor again. Now the refrigerator cools, but it runs 100% of the time. I dont mean frequently, I mean it NEVER. SHUTS. OFF. Its never not running. Today a technician came out, and after 1.5 hrs of diagnostics on the phone with a Whirlpool engineer, theyve declared that it works. Whirlpool refuses to honor their warranty and says that because the unit cools, I should accept that it runs 100% of the time. I can get no resolution from Whirlpool.

We've had a of Whirlpool washer and dryer for well over 8 years now. The only thing we've had done to it during that time was to give it a "tune up". That was done by a friend and only took a half hour or so. I don't know exactly what he did to it but the "tune up" didn't require any parts. In fact, when my friend was finished with his version of a tune up, it was as if it were turbo-charged and our clothes came out cleaner than ever. The washer runs quietly, as far as washers go, and the capacity, washing options, etc. are perfect for a washer that gets a ton of usage.

My Whirlpool French Door refrigerator will have its TWO year old birthday on September 15, 2015.. only if it lives that long! On August 8, one month and one week short of its 2nd birthday the compressor died. Of course the manufacturers warranty expired after one year. Thankfully, I purchased an extended warranty through the retailer. While this will cover my repairs, there is nothing that will cover the hundreds of dollars worth of spoiled frozen and refrigerated products which had to be discarded. I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT!

We purchased a new refrigerator and dishwasher about three and a half years ago. There are only two of us living in the house and we both work so it is not like we use our dishwasher every day. Dishwasher is Whirlpool Whisper Quiet III Gold model. About three months ago, the panel lights quit working but the dishwasher would still run. Now the blasted thing will not even turn on. Our ice maker freezes up and we are always having to ice pick out the ice and clean out the ice maker. Basically, we never use it because we are tired of the process of cleaning it just to have ice. Now after reading reviews, I do not want to fork out the money to have a repair person come in and fix the dishwasher which most likely will break down somewhere else. Plus the dishwasher tray has a lot of broken tips and are rusty and I have actually had to file a few to keep from getting stabbed by the sharp point. The previous dishwasher worked great and had been in the house for over 15 years. I wish I could remember what brand it was. I only replaced it because I wanted one to match the refrigerator. I am appalled at the quality of the Whirlpool products. I have to get another dishwasher and I have other things that I need to spend my money on rather than a dishwasher. I wont buy another Whirlpool product as of September 13, 2013.

I would never recommend Whirlpool again. I have used Whirlpool products since 1970 and always had good appliances. Your new products are worthless and you are spending more money on legal protection and lobbying than making a worthy product that actually cleans clothes and cools food. You are charging thousands of dollars for a worthless product and paying thousands of dollars for legal protection with warranties written to excuse your worthless product. Cabrio washer 2015 model - The worst washer in 40 years. Everytime I use it I ask myself why did you buy this? Sure it conserves the amount of water but I havent noticed a nickel in savings because you have to wash the same load a couple of times. Since the days of cleaning in a stream clothes have been beaten to remove soil. How in gods name was I fooled into thinking this washer would actually clean our clothes. I put a folded tablecloth in it and when I emptied it the tablecloth was still folded. IF YOU NEED A CLOTHES WASHER TO ACTUALLY CLEAN CLOTHES, DONT BUY THE KIND WITHOUT AN AGITATOR. It was obviously designed by someone who has never had to clean a refrigerator. There are grooves in the door gaskets seemingly making their sole purpose to collect crumbs and mold with no obvious way to keep them clean (No, Q-tips dont do it). A layer of ice forms below the basket in the freezer (bottom freezer) which, when it melts, soaks the kitchen floor. Ice must be chipped out at least every two weeks to avoid flooding.

I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. After being told I could go to Lowe’s because they would supply the part free of charge because there was a recall on the thermocouple unit. I went to Lowes. No luck there. They told me they didnt carry the whole replacement unit and I would need a number from Whirlpool. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

Mind you, Whirlpool products that we have purchased in the past have been satisfactory, but gas hot water heaters, no! About four years ago we purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater that went out in a little over a year. After spending many calls and time, we found out that the HWH was on soft recall. Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! Whirlpool quarterly report looks very good. Mine doesnt look as good. What can be done about a poor working product? Or is this too big to fail? Let me know.

My oven had been temperamental since day one, then got worse over time. I do not use my oven that much so was not really worried or alarmed until a tray of cookies caught fire. It was set at 350 and jumped to 525 on its own. (I bought an oven thermometer to monitor) Minor burn taking tray out but all okay :-). Contacted Lowe’s where we bought it and they would do nothing (note: at this point the oven is 15-months old and out of warranty). Advised me to contact Whirlpool. Did that - they sent out a repair service and they determined it was the temp. sensor. It is now April 2014 and I am still waiting for the part (this all started Sept 2013). I have since talked and wrote to Whirlpool for this to be resolved and also asked that the range be recalled due to fire hazard at the least! When I spoke to them in December, they said they could give me ‘50% off the part’. Remember I am still waiting for that part, lol! After writing corp h/q, they said “Sorry, since we cant get the part why not have someone come in and take the old part out and have it rebuilt.” I ask you Whirlpool w/q would you be happy with that??? Will post any follow-ups... would love to hear from anyone else with this problem - model # GFE461LVS. Great day everyone. :-)

Jeans and towels are impossible to clean. It throws the tub so bad it has pushed the side out. I have checked the balancing rods and they are fine. We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? The trim on the front the my Whirlpool electric range has rubbed off. This is where the knobs for the burners are located. It was replaced once during the Whirlpool 1 year warranty (so it obviously happened with the first year!) and again during the second year we have had it. We have an extended warranty but have been told that it is not covered. It is ecstatically unacceptable. We purchased commercial washing machines for our building, we discovered that the clothes were coming out of the machines with dry spots and partials of soap. When we asked the dealer about this they sent a tech. to check the machines. It seems that these machines do not allow a adequate amount of water into the tub to wash the clothes. Only 6 or 7 inches of water is not enough water to wash a full load. When asked how this can be fixed I was told it cant be fixed. I was told this is a energy saving machine, which means you can only wash very small loads! What is the point of running a machine for twice the amount of time to do what you used to do in one load? Had we known this before purchasing what we felt was a quality machine, we are now stuck with machine not capable of doing what is required of them. When asked if they would take the machine back, no is all they say. I would never buy any product made by Whirlpool or Maytag because of the way this problem of ours has been handled. The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. Purchased 9/23/2013 on 5/20/2014 no hot water. Called Whirlpool, unit has a 6 yr warranty. Brian advised me no one close to our area to service. He told me to contact a local plumber, they would pay for parts and $75.00 in labor. I attempted a couple of calls and could not find a plumber that was willing to come out and let us pay just the difference, after parts and $75.00 in labor and them bill Whirlpool for the remainder. They wanted between $225.00 and $300.00 plus parts. Lowes where we purchased the water heater told me to call Whirlpool back and get an RA# and they would be happy to exchange the water heater. I called Whirlpool and they (Leigh) refused but did say they would pay 200.00 in labor plus the cost of parts. The unit was only $231.23, but they would rather pay upwards of $300.00 than just let us get a new one. I asked Leigh if this made sense to her, she said it did. I guess Im just ignorant because it doesnt make sense to me. Whirlpool COULD NOT even find a plumber that would come out to our small town to do repairs under their OUTSTANDING WARRANTY. I have laughed at these people and cried over this whole situation. Whirlpool better get their quality control issues resolved or shut down the plant. I know many part are made in Mexico, poor quality. Why pay for an expensive appliance that only last two years.

This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

I purchased my Cabrio Whirlpool washer five years ago. In the past two months I have had three service calls for repairs. I had water leaking out from underneath the machine which was the result of a failed drum seal. Now I get a ul message (there was one blouse being washed on delicate) and the washer is making a terrible banging sound. I dont think it is spinning. I have not been happy with this washer. My previous washer was 30 years old.

I have a Cabrio washer displaying the F-1 error code. I called on Thursday, the 15th of Sept. I spoke to Vicky in the Cleveland, TN division. She told me that the F-1 code on my machine (model no. WTW6600SW2 and serial no. **) was covered under a recall at no cost, parts or labor (I specifically asked this question). She set up a service repair ticket with Freds Appliance at 888-453-7337 and gave me the date. I was home waiting when they called. The driver drove in the drive and asked if he was there for my Jenn-Air cook top! I said no, the F-1 error code on the washer. He explained that he had just used the last control board last week and he changes them frequently. I called Whirlpool. A very snotty Ashley proceeded to tell me that nothing was covered and I would have to pay. I asked for a supervisor and Ratna answered after a hold of 45 minutes on my cell. I explained the situation. After begging, she proceeded to tell me that she would pay for parts only. I explained that the tech did not have the parts, didnt even know the correct appliance, and now I have to take another day off work to meet him to have my washer fixed. I have not used the washer in two weeks. I used to only buy Whirlpool products. After reading all the complaints about the same error code from other consumers, I believe there are enough complaints that we as consumers should be protected.

This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especia
This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

I bought the washer Whirlpool duet on June 2009 (2 years and 2 months to date) and suddenly gave me an F70 code and died on me. It would cost me about $550.00 for parts and $129.00 for labor which is almost $700.00 in total. Its a communication error code where the CCU or the Motor Control Board was the culprit. The refrigerator fits perfect in my space, keeps frozen (ice cream is creamy not a frozen block ) and cooled foods well. I love the glass shelves. The top shelf is adjustable, that is nice in order to use more space. I love the ice and water on the outside of the door.

Cap that off with customer service people who by voice and tone could not give a rats ** about helping the customer. Today it took me from 3:10 pm to 5:30 pm to get a real person on the phone. When I did the attitude is so reminiscent of a fast food hamburger joint with arches. Yes they know the refrig and ice maker are and have been a problem but they don’t care cause we have no option. Whirlpool will NEVER SEE ANOTHER penny of my money. Time to look at real appliance makers. Horrible.

This is about my Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer machine (model number WTW6200SWD, serial # CT3670597). I bought this machine in 2007, and soon after, I was having problems with the F1 code. After several trips back and forth to reset the code, so I can get the laundry done, and many frustrations, it was time to call Whirlpool to resolve the problem. I find out that there was a recall for this ongoing issue. They sent a technician to replace the mother board, and everything was fine for some time. Soon after, the machine was giving us more problems with the F1 code, and the UL code. It doesnt matter which way I try to balance the load. This piece of junk will not work. Whirlpool needs to stand behind this issue, and recall this washing machine for good. Every customer should be entitled to a full refund, and a compensation for the many hours of electricity, aggravation, and frustration, wasted trying to get this junk to work.

We purchased a Whirlpool unit Mod#WRF535SMBM from Home Depot in Bluffton, SC. Frost and ice build up in bottom freezer of our Whirlpool unit. We have had 4 service calls since our purchase of the unit in Dec 2014 (April, May, June and Sept) with one freezer door replacement due to a faulty door liner and soon to be a second freezer door replacement due to lack of insulation in the door, along with the door slides. Each service call visit is by a different service company. The other issue is the unit is advertised as S/S. This is the first time I have had a magnet stick to S/S so I figure that the outer shell is a mere coating of some sort and not a quality S/S product.

After the one-year warranty ran out, my wife ran the self-cleaning feature, which since Ive found is a well-documented problem in online forums. The oven overheats and blows out the thermostat, fuse and some other cylinder device, all in all a $600 repair. I am furious that both Whirlpool and Ikea (where we purchased the electric oven) keep completely silent on this issue, not bothering to tell homeowners to use this function at their own risk. Just wipe it out! The well known nature of this self-destruction and potential high cost of repair should be information given to consumers, but of course this would affect their sales numbers. We bought this Cabrio washer WTW6400SW2 several years ago. Immediately after having it delivered and installed, it started displaying an F1 fault code. The main control board was replaced under warranty. It happened again within six months. Another board was replaced. That board lasted another six months. The warranty was up by then, so I used the machine by hovering over it and restarting it every time it failed. After two years of this piece of junk, we put it in storage while we worked on the road. It was brought out on 10/01/11. I called a repairman (who came on 10/04/11) to come replace the board again. He told me that the last two times it had been replaced with the same defective board, that Whirlpool had never fixed the problem. He claimed he had the new improved board, which he replaced for about $350. Two days ago (361 days later), it went bad again. The same repair company came back and said it was the board again. I just tried chatting with a person working on the Whirlpool website. They (of course) said they would do nothing about the washer. They do not stand behind their product, obviously. Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit over these washers? It is a ridiculous amount of money to spend for a product that does not work. This is just wrong!

I Purchased 9 year warranty, Whirlpool water heater and installed it. Started having problems in the first month. It started giving a water temp too high error code, yet water was barely warm. Called Whirlpool. They had me do a bunch of diagnostic checks. Determined it was a bad control module. Sent me a new one. I installed it. Within a week or two, same problem. Called Whirlpool. This time they sent a Tech out. Everything on water heater tested normal, nothing wrong with any part. The tech finally, found a TSB that indicated that you couldnt have any re-circulating valves or systems connected to the water heater. We had one to keep hot water at the taps. So I removed the re-circulating kit and water heater worked for a few months. Then same problems, it keeps going into error. Error code indicates water temp too high, but water is barely warm to cold. Call whirlpool several times, they send out another control module and heating elements and I replace them. All work temporarily. Finally replace control module again, and it works for several months. Then back to error codes. Not always the same code. Sometimes it is water temp too high, other times it is check one of the heating elements. We have lived with it like that for about 3 years. We get hot water by resetting the water heater several times a day. Well, about 3 months ago it started tripping the circuit breaker in the electrical panel. I called Whirlpool and explained what has been going on since I bought their piece of junk. They will not do anything unless I call and pay for a service tech to come diagnose and repair the problem. They will provide the parts for the repair. I am not a certified appliance repairman, but I do handy man repair work for a living and do appliance repairs quite regularly. I am capable of doing every test that the repairman will do, but Whirlpool insists that I pay to get their defective product repaired. Then if I have problems again in a couple of months, I will have to pay a service tech again. I have friend that had this same water heater. I replaced the control module on his once. I was telling him about my woes and he told me he got fed up with all the problems and ate the cost and got a new water heater, not a Whirlpool. I am going to call Whirlpool one more time and then I am sure I am going to do what my friend did and put the money I would spend on a service tech into a new water heater. It will not be a Whirlfool.

I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. Oh, yeah, and you have to use special soap, which Ive tried, and got down to using only 1/2 a teaspoon because the suds never cleared. Please tell all your customers never to buy Whirlpool!

I called Whirlpool back and explained what had happened, but they refused to help again. I had whirlpool microwave model # WMH32517AS-2 that came with my new home in March of 2013. In September of 2013, we noticed there were times that the microwave failed to warm the food or liquids (coffee) sometimes at all. Then we figured out that we could hear the noise it makes when it actually warms the food. So after a repair man came out and saw the issue of not warming up, he replaced many parts but within a day we experienced the same issue. Whirlpool had a different repair man come out and replace additional parts hoping it would fix the issue but unfortunately, it did not. Whirlpool said they would send another microwave to us in January of 2014 but now its April 2014 and nothing sent and I have a broken microwave in my house. Due to the length of time it has been, I had to submit this. We have also called customer service on 5 occasions (who have these call documented) and the person that was supposedly helping us and assigned to our case 7 times with no response. We have attempted to talk to a supervisor but were told that I could not, which is unusual. Its just frustrating that this is happening.

Aqualift self clean oven??? I followed the directions on how to clean my oven. I wiped and scraped out spilled residue from the oven. Then started the cleaning process. The sides of the oven were not cleaned even when I wiped them with a damp cloth. Scrubbing and scraping with the tools that came with the oven helped somewhat. The bottom of the oven was not cleaned. I had to continually scrub and scrape to get it looking half clean and even then, there were still spots that would not clean away. I would have preferred an oven that uses oven cleaner, it gets the oven much cleaner and with less scrubbing on my part. All in all I am very dissatisfied with the oven and would never recommend it.

I had a Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01. Purchase 3/13/2010. I had repairman after repairman come to fix it. The last one probably saved my family and my house. The light in the back corner was not only blinking, but flashing rapidly, much like some wild party light. It eventually stopped. The freezer works perfectly fine, the fridge works when it wants to. The ice maker makes ice some days but not others. The motor on the ice dispenser is completely frozen up. Does that all sound about right? If it does, clean it out and cut the power to it before someone gets electrocuted or your house catches fire.If you cant find the electrical diagram, or the company wants $455 to answer your questions, look under the right side of the freezer draw, but not on the draw. Remove the guard on the very bottom of the unit, near the wheels on the right side. You will feel a plastic bag attached to the underside. Inside that bag is the complete diagram of all the wiring harnesses along with the schematic for the amps and voltages for each wire. Are they telling your circuit board is bad and you will need a new one? Before you do that, inside the fridge compartment, in between the water filter and the ice maker, remove the light cover. Notice that inside that space is the access to another panel. Remove that panel. BE SURE THERE IS NO POWER RUNNING TO THE UNIT FIRST. Here you will find a connection plug with more or less 15 wires that are connected to the main wiring harness. Above that plug you will find a holding chamber. This holding chamber contains water from the filter that is waiting to go to the ice maker. It has dripped condensation on the plug since the day you first turned on your fridge. Your wires are most likely broken and corroded. You will need to have your unit completely rewired, but because of the design flaw that fix will only buy you another 4-5 years. My Whirlpool GI7FVCXWY01 left yesterday 5/15/2014 and none too soon.
