Worst appliance of any kind that I have ever used. Has only on/off button, in effect. Wastes water. There is no option to change anything once cycle has begun. No soaking. Occasionally, the machine simply decides to stop and drain itself so that you can start all over again!! No idea how long cycle is. Nearly done? No idea. No matter what temp or how much detergent or how much water, the clothes are not clean. The lid locks and so there is no way to know whats going on. I suspect there is very little water during rinse cycle. All of the whirlpool appliances are similarly horrible. Washer is the WORST. Shame on you Made in America.

I absolutely hate this expensive piece of junk. I have tried everything, and my clothes are not clean. It is only myself, and my husband, and our clothes dont get very dirty. I would like to send this junk to the junkyard, but I spent a lot to get the dryer with steam that went with the washer. This experience has soured me on Whirlpool appliances, and now I learn they also make appliances for Maytag!

We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator (model ED5LVAXVQ00) 4 years ago. The plastic around the top shelf cracked within two years but is not a warranty item. Now, all the plastic surrounding shelves have cracks and the slides for the pull out drawers are also broken. My wife and I are retired and have not overstressed the shelves. The cost for replacing the cracked plastic will be approximately $250 (hardly worth fixing)! We are very disappointed that a once reputable company would build and market such an inferior product. I hope this comment will warn prospective buyers to be careful when considering Whirlpool refrigerators. Very disappointed!

DO NOT BUY ANY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS! After purchasing a dishwasher in April 2017, it died after a year. The subsequent years have been filled with waiting all day for service repairs 6 times and living without a dishwasher for up to a week at a time. After 6 services the product continues to malfunction. They are refusing to replace the item and now inform us that we must pay to have it serviced. I cannot stress enough that no one should purchase any products from Whirlpool as they are sub-par products and they do not stand behind their products.

We purchased in July 2016 from Best Buy. Very nice product. Our former Whirlpool had lasted 20 years and was a work horse for our family. The new one began not freezing ice cream in November. Then, it would periodically freeze things very well and then not freeze items fully. We contacted Best Buy thinking we had a lemon. Worthless - no help. Told us to contact Whirlpool directly. The repair person came out today and told us that our refrigerator cannot be in our garage outdoors because the energy efficiency of the refrigerator causes it to shut off when the surrounding temp drops below 54F. Our former Whirlpool had been outdoors in our garage in that spot for 18 years, no problems. The new models now no longer operate if the air cools down around them. What!? There is no warning information, no sales information, no way to learn this until after you shell out 1000 dollars and lose your frozen food. It is in the manual in fine print, but we didnt read the manual cover to cover when we got the refrigerator, and we sure didnt read it BEFORE we bought it. And no one at the store, nor the installation people who represented Best Buy as paid installers told me I couldnt have this outside, even though I specifically told them I was buying it for our outside extra fridge and freezer to replace the old one, and the installers installed it outside. Technically our refrigerator is working as its supposed to apparently. However, I think it should prominently be noted on pre-sales materials that it must be operated indoors only (in climates always >54 degrees). Now I have a new refrigerator that I cant use as an extra in our garage. Apparently all the new fridges are energy efficient like this and shut off below 54. I cannot find any info on the internet about this, or any other complaints about a similar situation to mine. How does that make any sense? Freezing is 32 so any frozen goods will thaw, by default, always, if the machine is in cool environments. Phooey on this design spec. Dumb engineers.

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (model: AW01D8810 S silver color) and a Whirlpool refrigerator (model: WBM329 TI) together from United Arab Emirates for Dhs 1999/- & Dhs 1199 /- respectively on 28 Jan. 2011. I sent this machine to my hometown (India) in the same packing and I used the washing machine only for three months and found a complaint. I informed this to service center in Trivandrum, Kerala. Their team came to my home and told me that warranty cannot be given as I purchased machine overseas. They added that the PCB for the machine is having complaint and they dont have stock in India. Also, the machine is no longer available in the factory. The Whirlpool company completely stopped manufacturing the abovementioned model. Again, I came to UAE and contacted GEC group of companies for the PCB part. I got a quotation for PCB Dhs 425/- but the items is ex-stock with them. The machine cost only Dhs 1999/- and if I spend Dh425/- only for PCB, and the machine is with me for the parts since one and half years. I dont know what to do. If I spend another Dhs 600 + this PCB cost then Id rather go for another new branded washing machine. The model of machine is AWO1D8810S and serial no. is 12 nc 859247463000 003. Please advise what to do or if I can find the PCB in Kerala. What will be the cost? I am ready to pay the money for PCB but not for the above rates. Please advise, sir.

Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control pane
Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control panel is peeling and flaking; it is not possible to clean it and it is likely going to get into our food. It has not been cleaned with anything harsh - I use warm soapy water or stainless steel cleaner. I use the same thing on my other appliances and they look fine. I am waiting for a tech to come and look at it but after reading other complaints I fear that they are going to say it is cosmetic and it is not covered. Sadly, we can no longer wipe the control panel if it is dirty because the stainless steel is flaking off and it gets all over the burners and I am concerned it will get into our food. I am willing to bet the paint that is flaking off is not approved for consumption.I wish I had our old Frigidaire Gallery Series range back. I regret replacing it. Whirlpool was not helpful. They told me to contact the place I purchased it. The place I purchased it said it is a manufacturers defect. Someone suggested painting it with stainless steel colored spray paint which sounds like it is going to look awful. The new panel is $148 but it will need to be installed and if there is a defect how often will I have to replace it? I am very disappointed.

Do NOT buy this machine. This has been the worst washer I have ever owned. There are times when my clothes come out of the washer and parts of them are STILL DRY! I pulled out a pair of pants I had worn while cleaning my attic and the cobwebs were still attached to the legs! Whirlpool basically told me, Tough luck, you bought it, were not doing anything, when I complained the day I bought it, and now years later it it continues to get worse. The machine was too expensive to just get rid of, but customer be warned - do NOT buy a Cabrio!

Purchased my Whirlpool dishwasher in 2005 model number GU2500XTPQ3. So it worked for about 10 years and I am fairly happy with that but I have a warning, my control panel shorted out putting out thick black smoke and I was unable to turn off the dishwasher. I had to turn off the switch at the breaker box. If my wife had of been the only one home she would not have known how to turn it off and would have had to call the fire department. I dont know if the short would have led to an actual fire but with that much heat I have to believe it would have. Warning, dont run the dishwasher when no one is home. Hope this helps someone.

Purchased on 9/12 at Home Depot. Ice maker paid for as stated in ad for home depot, did not come with fridge. Tech needed for warm food, had to repair gasket. Tech needed for cracked handle. 6 calls for freezing food in fridge compartment. No resolve. Whirlpool wanted a 2nd opinion and another tech came deeming the fridge unrepairable. Not good enough for Whirlpool. After speaking to several customer service agents, they said they do not refund or replace, only repair. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food from freezing. My fridge is reading at 31 deg. This is way below what it is supposed to read at. No call from Whirlpool since last tech came. Their customer service is terrible and cold. Whirlpool Corp. was not any help either. You can see the problem with this model if you look up Whirlpool fridge freezing food in Florida, as a woman there called ABC news and they reported it. I will also do the same.

Do NOT buy this washing machine. It looks nice but that is all. My elderly parents bought this washing machine based on the past experiences with Whirlpool but the quality of the product has changed. This machine constantly errors and does not allow them to wash clothes. I have followed the instructions in the manual to try and clear the errors. I ended up calling Whirlpool and the response I got was... It will be anywhere from $80 to $125 for someone to come out and look at it. This is a product which should not stop working after 2 years. I guess Whirlpool only stands by their products for a year because they think it is only built for a years worth of service. I wish I had better things to say because the previous Whirlpool machine lasted over 20 years.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband
Electric hot water heater model E40H6-45-100 - Purchased at Lowes. Husband installed, tank filled, no hot water coming through house lines. Called support center several times after trying each recommendation that did not work. They kept saying it was a plumbing problem. My husband is very smart when it comes to electrical and plumbing. He has done numerous repairs to our homes over the last 30 years we have been married. He knows what he is talking about and told the support tech that he believed it was a faulty water heater. She immediately said the units are all tested before they leave the factory. The final step was to remove the nipple that the hot water flows through out of the tank and remove the two black bellows. Now my husband can see directly through the piece but also decides to put his finger through the the open whole on the top of the tank and cannot get his finger through - it is blocked. He gets a flashlight and a screw driver. Puts the screw driver through a thin plate that was blocking where the water should be coming through. He can now actually see the water in the tank. This was the whole problem! So they could not have tested this tank. They did give us a ref number to take parts back to store to replace parts we already bought and cannot use. Its the time and energy on whats suppose to be an easy job that counts. Will not recommend Whirlpool products to anyone and probably will not purchase any in the future. Ours was not as bad as most of the other reviews I read but wanted to advise others who may think about what brand to purchase.

Whirlpool dishwasher failed after 16 months. It leaks continuously. they sent a service provider 5 days later out to fix it, then said there would be a $129 fee for coming (this was never mentioned at time of appointment), and the total repair cost would be $208. I wasted a day waiting for repair person to come, I declined the repair due to the cost. I called customer service later, during office hours, and I received the poorest level of customer service I have ever experienced. Whirlpool will no longer receive support from the our family. Bought expensive fridge 2009. Now (2015) random very loud rat-tat-tat sounds lasting 5-10 seconds. Very loud. Paid for repairman to evaluate. He said it was probably compressor spring and other springs would probably soon break and would shut down fridge. Said it is very expensive to repair and it would be best to dump the fridge and buy a new one. I called the 800 number located inside the fridge. Jacob at Whirlpool listened to my story and said, Yep, it sounds like the compressor spring and the other springs will likely break. He said he can make me a one-time offer of a full repair of the compressor for only $359.65. We pay Whirlpool and they will have a local guy here come and fix it. We paid by visa. And, via email we get a document that shows we just bought a service contract. This is a surprise to us as we were told were paying to have the compressor repaired. In a few days, a call comes from local repair shop. Guy says, he will come out and check out the noise and see if he can repair our unit. We tell him the noise is intermittent and we cant predict when the noise will occur. We also tell him Jacob from Whirlpool said it was the compressor and that we paid to have it repaired. He says it doesnt sound like it is the compressor and that he cant diagnose the problem if he cant hear the noise. We tell Maytag/Whirlpool via phone we are faxing formal request for refund of our $359.65. Lady from Whirlpool says we, should get a refund in 4-6 weeks. Well, we will see.We are very disappointed in the the short life of our very expensive fridge and we are disgusted with the false and misleading comments made by Jacob of Whirlpool. He told us we were paying for the repair of our compressor and instead we get a stupid service contract. We are in the process of buying a new fridge. And no... It will NOT be a Maytag/Whirlpool!

WTW8800YWO Whirlpool Cabrio washer, 4 yrs old! Replaced!!! Its a poor quality washer -- the bearings go out. I purchased this washer and matching dryer at Lowes following a house fire. I initially thought the water saver was a good feature. Unfortunately, my clothes were not clean and were covered with lint following each wash. I have had to replace the ring inside the washer due to shifting and causing water damage to the new flooring. I soon became disappointed with my purchase, but until the noise became so loud in the spin cycle and the repair exceeded the initial costs, I kept the washer. I am another consumer who would NEVER purchase nor recommend a Whirlpool W/D. The repairman said, If you want a washer built to last, buy a Speed Queen!

This is our 2nd circuit board failure in the 4-5 yrs, since we purchased this very expensive range/oven. The first time was shortly after the warranty ran out and Whirlpool would not even send us the part for free. They said there was nothing they could do. So this time we are not even contacting them and are just having our repairman order another new one. For a $1600 range to have to put more than $400 back in so far, I would never buy a Whirlpool again. I have been very careful not to use any cleaners on the circuit board as I was told by our repairman that that shorts them out. First the convect bake button wouldnt work, nor the convect roast, now the bake button, so the only buttons that work are broil and warm. Even the timer is shot. The inside glass of the oven door shattered. I have not used the oven for months. Only the the top cooking burners have been used. Its a mystery to me!! I have read complaints where the glass shattered while the oven was in use or being cleaned, but have found none where this happened to a cold oven. The large front burner is too hot. Even on the lowest setting everything burns. You cannot simmer, only boil. The control knobs have (in my opinion) no safety mechanism. I thought that the control knobs on stoves needed to be child proofed, hard for a child to turn on. My last stove you had to push down quite hard then turn to the setting. Not this stove. I have to be so careful when Im cleaning the area around the knobs. The slightest pressure and the knob turns. When I first purchased the stove while cleaning it, I unknowingly turned the knob and the kitchen filled with gas before I realized what had happened. I called Whirlpool thinking something was broken. They sent out a repairman. Nothing was broken. That is the way it is made. Customer Service said they had had no other complaints about the knobs. I find that hard to believe. My toddler grandchild can turn on the stove with ease. Im sure other concerned parents etc. have had this complaint. To sum it up... I will probably never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

I have tried to clean the oven three times and the stains from pie drippings are still not coming clean. I have a pretty small refrigerator since I live in a condo. It has lasted me about 4 years and is still running very well. It is very easy to clean. I dont buy a whole lot of food at one time. The size is big enough to hold what I buy every week. The appearance is decent. Only two people use it every day. I havent had any problems with the refrigerator in the four years I have had it. I get frustrated sometimes when opening up the bottom storage container. If I pull it out too far, it falls to the floor. This happens especially when the container is full of fruits and vegetables. I guess bottom storage container was designed that way for easy removal to be cleaned. I really like the adjustable shelves. I can adjust them perfectly to store food containers and jugs of milk and other drinks. I like the door shelves in the freezer compartment. It is great for small packages of vegetables.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer a few months ago. When we wash the white cloths using the (white) setting and add bleach and the HE detergent, the washer does not clean the white cloths very good at all. Sometimes the white cloths come out looking worse than they did before they were put in the washer. We called the people at Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do as long as all the functions on the washer work the way they’re suppose to. I thought the function of the washer is to clean the clothes but, they say no, as long as everything on the washer is working. That is what their warranty covers.

I am having the very same problem with my french door stainless steel Whirlpool gold refrigerator. Water pooling in the bottom of freezer, freezing into a solid sheet and then leaking onto the floor. It is less than 2 years old. Apparently, this is a significant defect in this problem seeing how so many people are having the same problem with the same fridge. Has anyone reported to BBB? Im thinking class action lawsuit. Im getting ready to have to repair my kitchen floors as a result of this defect. I will be talking to my brother-in-law attorney about this and will post his response/recommendation. Whirlpool should stand behind their product and make this right.

Whirlpool N50T91-403 purchased in Mar 12 had an error code 4. I knew the water heater had a safety installed in it when I was working on the plumbing and allowed it to drain the hot water side down to 16% of capacitance of 50 GL. After the plumbing issue was resolved, I saw the water heater had shut off (thermal protection) but the switch wasnt tripped as far as I could tell. Knowing small processors can only remember anything if they have power, I removed the Honeywell circuit board and with my multimeter probed all of the capacitors contacting them both (-) and (+) and in reverse order. Doing this forces the IC to forget its codes because they require a small amount of voltage to remember them, usually powered by a small capacitor. I reinstalled it and voila! Presto! It works again.

When the repairman came out, he said it had leaked the Freon, so I thought it should have been a simple fix. Boy was I wrong. It turns out it has a sealed system so no one can access this to fix it. It is now junk and I have to buy a new one. I will never purchase Whirlpool anything ever again and I will also tell anyone who will listen about my experience. When he heard the washer, he told me the bearings are gone and its just a matter of time before the machine dies. To fix it involves a total rebuild of the motor, about $600! WTF! This is my 3rd washer in 19 years. There is something seriously wrong with appliance manufacturers. They no longer care about their reputations, and just produce crap! Expensive crap! Needless to say, I am now shopping for our 4th machine, which will be a Speedqueen basic washer with a 3-year warranty!

When performing a national search for the part number (#8183202) to replace the broken hinge, I found that there were none available anywhere in the United States. When talking to Whirlpool, they indicated that during 2015, they only sold 142 of this part, and were currently looking for a new manufacturer for the part. They further indicated that the part would not be available until late September or early October of this year.

The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I told them to search the internet because everyone is having the same complaint! I had a Fridgidaire front loader for 9 years and never had a problem with it eating my clothes.

Our Whirlpool refrigerator, model MODGI5FSAXVYO, began leaking water from the freezer onto the floor about 3 months ago. We purchased the unit in January 2011. We had to keep a towel on the floor to absorb the moisture. Our troubles began after the freezer door was left ajar and the interior became quite frosty. We had turned off the freezer several times to defrost but nothing helped until this morning when I read the comments of Marea of McClellanville, SC and Ruth of Vavenby, BC.I then decided to begin exploring taking apart everything until I reached the freezer unit in the back of the freezer. I discovered a lot of ice with the ice blocking the drain hole which is supposed to drain condensation from the freezer fins to a drain pan in back of the freezer. Apparently, leaving the freezer door ajar caused the drain hole and surrounding area to ice up. Condensation from the fins would keep dripping until it overflowed onto the bottom of the freezer until it filled up with ice. The water then had nowhere to go but out of the freezer onto the floor. The simple solution to this problem is to turn off the fridge, empty out the freezer and allow the frozen drain hole to thaw out. You can easily remove the back panel of the refrigerator to see if water is then draining into the drain pain. Good Luck! Ed

Submit your complaint to ALL of the followings emails: investor_relations@whirlpool.com media@whirlpool.com whirlpool_customerexperience@whirlpool.com B2Bdevelopment@whirlpool.com. Here is what I wrote to Whirlpool: Model: WTW7800XWO, Serial number: C02670320. I purchased the 4.6 Cu. Ft. Cabrio Platinum Top Load Washer in June 2010. The washer lid has broken 3 times now. Its snapping by the hinges. I have been charged about $300 per lid. I believe the hinges are not durable enough to support the weight of the glass lid. I have read hundreds of reviews regarding the same model and issues, I also have a friend who has the same model and is experiencing the same issues and has had to replace the lid twice now. Im disappointed that Whirlpool has not taken accountability for this and either issue a recall or replace the lid at no charge to the customer. If there has been so many complaints, why hasnt Whirlpool taken action on this? I am requesting that the Whirlpool Headquarters address this issue immediately. When I called customer service to complain about this issue, the rep informed me that they have never heard about this issue before. From all the reviews I have read online, it seems that customer service is telling them the same thing. By not addressing this defect, Whirlpool will lose thousands of customers. This is not the way to retain or have returning customers. This is the first time I have purchased a Whirlpool appliance. I will not be a returning customer if this matter is not resolved.

The self-cleaning range (this phrase is a joke) has proven to be useless. I followed the cleaning direction according to the manufacturers direction even using the distilled water as indicated. I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that will be two years old in September 2013. It has been making terrible, loud noises during the spin cycle for a few months now. Repair tech told me it was the bearings and very costly. It will cost me over half of the original cost to repair a less than two year old washer. This is my second Duet front loader from Whirlpool. The first one was a drum issue and the rod ended up snapping. Again, very costly so I bought a new one. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I do not agree with extended warranties and it is just an additional money maker for the manufacturer. They should be making the product so people do not have to purchase those. Anyway, back to the washer at hand. I refuse to spend that much on a newer washer and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will let this thing bang for as long as it is going to last. Unfortunately have also just purchased the dryer that matches this washer since I still had the old model Duet Dryer, so kind of stuck with them. Spent an hour and a half yesterday on the phone talking to people at Whirlpool and they really dont care if you have an issue or not no matter how old your machine is. They just want you to have purchased the extended warranty or forget it. There should be a recall and they should be helping these customers who all seem to be having the same issue. Done with them!!

We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 6 years and 14 days. Note the 14 days. It has been nothing but trouble and we have called the company repeatedly for help. It finally stopped working altogether 14 days after the warranty ran out. Thank you Whirlpool for nothing! It had a filter on the bottom of the heater that constantly had to be cleaned which was next to impossible. We had to buy a special brush to try to reach it. My husband had to take it apart several times a year and clean it to keep it running. Whirlpool should have replaced it within the first year but instead offered many suggestions about cleaning and etc. so they would not have to replace. Paid between $800.00 and $1,000 (cant recall exactly) three years ago and the oven locked recently while cooking a pizza. Couldnt get the lock to disengage and the oven turned on self-clean mode without me doing anything. The pizza burned crispy before I finally got the door open. The failure code for the control panel showed up. I didnt buy the extended warranty because we only needed it to last 5 - 6 years until we do a full kitchen remodel and the really inexpensive (~ $250) oven that was installed by the previous owners to sell the house lasted six years with no trouble. Now we have to pay $391.00 to repair what I consider a brand new oven. In doing some research it looks like the control panel fail is common and is associated with using the self clean mode which we only used once. Great oven if you only need one for a few years and are willing to pay the price.

I purchased this monster in 2012 and after six years of enduring not enough water to actually wash the clothes for years, now the bearings have gone out making it sound like a jet engine is in my family room when it spins. After researching the bearing issue, I find it will cost $250 to $300 to have them replaced. Its also a common problem in this model even when the washer isnt at all worn out and old. That combined with the fact that my clothes dont smell clean and some blankets come out not even wet at all, Im done. I wont ever buy a water efficient washer again. Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. In September 2011, we purchased a Cabrio Washer and Dryer. Both appliances are extremely inferior. My first complaint to Whirlpool was in reference to the dryer. It kept overheating to the point that you couldnt even touch the clothes. In doing research I found this was a common problem and in some cases, even caused fires. After finding this out and contacting Whirlpool to complain and see if there were any recalls, they indicated they knew nothing about the problem and recalls would have to come from their legal department. I asked to speak with someone in that department and was told that was not possible. We threw the machine away and purchased a new no frills dryer. Now the washer has totally died. It would make noises, lockup, not spin, not clean, etc. Basically all the complaints other consumers have listed. It is now on the curb and I will again have a purchase a new washer. The Whirlpool refrigerator I bought at the same time is a whole other story. Please do not buy Whirlpool. When contacted they show no empathy or concern about the inferiority of their products. There are only the 2 of us now and we do laundry one time a week. It amazes me how much money I am out between the initial purchases, repairs, and replacements. My daughter has also had the bad luck of purchasing Whirlpool appliances and is now experiencing the same problems. Get the word out to all of your friends to NEVER purchase Whirlpool. They are apparently only concerned with their profits and not making good products or caring about their consumers problems. I made a very expensive mistake and will never purchase their products again. I have made them aware that I would be placing my review on your website along with the other 1,690 complaints. I have all my documentation re purchases, repairs, replacements and emails sent to Whirlpool. Unfortunately I cannot document all the calls made to this company. Bottom line, Im very disappointed in the products and the lack of concern. Please do not purchase.

Great features for entertains, multiple foods can bake at same time. Ceramic top easy to clean, boil overs cannot seep under anything. I have had this oven for over 10 yrs, minimal repairs.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator to match the other appliances in our kitchen. The unit was purchased in June of 2012. Two and a half years later, it quit making ice and would not maintain proper cooling temps. Not to mention the noise coming from the compressor. So we had a certified tech come out and he said that it was the sealed refrigeration system. He stated that he had seen this issue a lot with whirlpool refrigerators. He said that what they don’t tell you is that it is covered for 3 years but good luck with getting any satisfaction. The cost to fix it you ask? $700.00. Might as well just buy a new one. Took a shot in the dark and called Whirlpool customer service. Gave the girl my information and model number. I got the “Sorry, but your model number is not covered by the sealed refrigeration warranty.” Then I got the ole, “Is there anything else today?” Well, she got the wrong man on the phone this day. I asked her to give me a model number that is covered by the warranty and I will purchase that one. You could have heard a pin drop. I don’t guess she’s been asked that before. She starts to ramble and said, “Well, there are just so many, I could not possibly tell you. Some are and some aren’t.” (Remember that statement) You mean she can tell me that mine was not covered, but could not tell me which models were covered. Huh??? Long story short. I argued with her for an hour on the phone and she finally breaks down and admits that Whirlpool does not warranty the sealed systems on their refrigerators any longer because they are considered value brands. What are value brands you ask? I asked the same thing. I was informed that a value brand is of lower cost to draw people to buy the product. Remember in the movie Back to the Future when Doc Brown said he sold a nuclear weapon to the Libyans at a good price but it was just filled with pinball machine parts? Well, there you go. I get the supervisor on the phone and she has the I’m going to be strict with this customer voice. She basically blames me in the fact that I failed to purchase the extended warranty. You’re right, my fault. How dare I have the nerve to think that a one thousand dollar value Whirlpool refrigerator would last no further than two and a half years? My bad on that one lady. The end result; I was told that I could purchase a new Whirlpool refrigerator and be sure to get the extended warranty. Yeah, why don’t go practice falling down Whirlpool, I’ll be there in a minute. (That was sarcasm by the way).

Mind you, Whirlpool products that we have purchased in the past have been satisfactory, but gas hot water heaters, no! About four years ago we purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater that went out in a little over a year. After spending many calls and time, we found out that the HWH was on soft recall. Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! Whirlpool quarterly report looks very good. Mine doesnt look as good. What can be done about a poor working product? Or is this too big to fail? Let me know.

Bought a Whirlpool French door refrigerator in March 2014 and have had to have it serviced 4 times now - all for the same issue. We get frost in the refrigerator (not the freezer, the refrigerator). The same parts keep being replaced but they are all defective. This last time the service tech said he contacted Whirlpool and they had a redesigned part that should take care of it. Within 3 days of the new part being installed the frost is back. The other issue is the loud noise of the compressor. We have had multiple Whirlpool products through the years, but this is the last.

Whirlpool Cabrio - This washer and dryer have been garbage since the beginning. It does not clean soiled clothes and the dryer (gas) has always taken forever to dry a load. I have always had GE prior to this. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again. We even purchased the extended warranty and the repair guy was out yet again and said it is not repairable. Now we are without a washer for 5+ days and its going to be reviewed. Review? I want my money back. Theres a lemon law for cars, there should be one for these machines.

I purchased a Whirlpool WFW9050XW washer in Aug 2011. I have had nothing but problems. Sears sent repair tech 2x; it would work for a couple months and stop. Whirlpool has sent new motor, tub, switches, etc. I feel I bought a lemon and I want Whirlpool to replace the machine.

I have purchased Whirlpool refrigerator 2 years back. Suddenly my refrigerator stop working. When I filled complaint against this in customer service care. They sent technician. He told its compressor not working and asked 2800 rs for gas filling. Then he said hell come tomorrow for this. For 4 days he didnt come. After 20 calls, to customer service centre they said, Your refrigerator has to sent to the center. For that they asked 1000 rs... We were so disturbed by their slow service. We immediately said yes. Now when our refrigerator arrived at their center. Now they are again asking for 3400 rs for other part. Im so frustrated by this service. What type of warranty you are giving.. The warranty is of just the box.... So bad products. Such a bad experience... Never gonna buy Whirlpool product again or recommend anyone.

I purchased a Whirlpool microwave model #WHM3205XVS1 on October 2, 2011. The handle broke off in little pieces and was repaired in March 2012. Handle broke off again in little pieces in September 2012. This will be the 3rd handle that will continue to break in little pieces every 6 months. According to both repair men that were here, this is their comment: No customer abuse, this is a very common problem with this model. After to speaking to 3 people at Whirlpool, I was told by everyone, This is cosmetic problem and we will not fix after the 1 year manufacturers warranty is up. I started with the the first person, went to her supervisor, then went to her supervisor. I am now waiting for a call from a manager although I was told I will continue to get the same answer no matter how far up the chain of command I go. So, I was told that it is okay to have 2 screws sticking out holding the remaining part of the handle that is left, because it is a cosmetic, not a functional problem. I will never stop with Whirlpool. I will call 4 times a day if necessary. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase one of their products. Be careful. They manufacture products for many other companies, i.e., Sears, Amana, Jenn-Air, and many, many more.

Have owned my Whirlpool washer model# LSR 701 0PQ1 two years and had no problems with it before today... The washer was used once a week since I purchased it and only myself use it. There is only myself and my son and our loads are always small. Well today I put a load in and went to finish my other housework and when I went to check on the load, there was a weird smell in my laundry room. As I approach the washer to put softener in the rinse I saw a flash behind on the left hand side of the control panel where the size of load and water temperature selection is. I unplugged the washer and put the fire out. Have never had anything happen like this before with this brand. I already know I have to buy another washer but am scared to get another Whirlpool.

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

Whirlpool Energy Efficient Top Loader - I re-wash at least 20% of all cloth
Whirlpool Energy Efficient Top Loader - I re-wash at least 20% of all clothes because they have dark spots AFTER washing them, but NOT before! It is a moving target, wash out one dark mark; get another somewhere else. I bought great quality sheets that are permanently stained, because of this. No matter how you load this machine, anything with arms and legs gets entangled into a big knotted mess. It is difficult to separate them and time-consuming. This puts a lot of stress on the clothes, especially as the load spins. I also re-wash entire loads at least 4 loads because the clothes dont rinse properly. I bought a 5 yr. extended warranty and have had this serviced at least 4 times to no avail. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE DESIGN! I am POSITIVE of it. If you have these problems, as well, please contact me. I would love to investigate a class action suit. I am THAT mad.

I dont know the model you have but this exactly what I just had happen in May. Its what they call the jazz board that is behind the light area inside the front of the refrigerator, where the light bulb goes. This is a circuit board and it seems when connection arent happening properly the fridge wont go into defrost mode and the water freezes over the evaporator not allowing any cold air to the top but working cooling freezer and making lots of frost too. I paid $400 to Sears service repair. The jazz board itself, I kept the old one and you can buy it online for about $100 and a child can do the labor that I paid hundreds for because, like you, I didnt know what the problem was. It takes less than 1 min to do this. I was furious! I hope this helps you and I too will never buy a Whirlpool. I found this site looking for why the refrigerator is making very loud noises, very loud banging, clicking, humming. Its ridiculous!

Im going to add my 2 cents to the already poor reviews of this dishwasher. Ive been disgruntled about it since it was first installed. The silverware rack will not stay shut, so when you go to shut the door all the silverware falls into the bottom of the washer. And its totally rusting. All the pins in the carriage are literally rusting away. This is a faulty washer and Whirlpool needs to find a way to repay their customers. Ill never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Model GB2FHDXWS04 - This refrigerator dumps water all over the floor at least 1 time a week. We just leave a towel on the floor to absorb it because you never know when it is going to happen. Have removed the stuff and cleaned all of the ice out of the bottom of the fridge but in no time it is back. What a crummy unit. I am going to drill a hole in the bottom of it and put in a drain I guess.

The shelves in freezer don’t lock into anything so if you don’t balance the food right on the shelf it will tip over. I had to replace the fan motor in freezer. The refrigerator is only 4 years old. The little tray under the water and ice outside of door if you shut the freezer door too quick water from tray goes everywhere. The water filter cost $50.00. If you have bad water you will need to change it twice a month.

After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer
After 14 years of good service with Whirlpool Duet front load washer dryer set, wife chose Whirlpool kitchen appliances as part of a kitchen update project. All matching fridge, range, microwave hood and dishwasher. What a nightmare! The icemaker growls and whines all the time and the dishwasher was broken before being packaged at the manufacturer. A wheel from the middle rack was missing when the dishwasher was opened. It wasnt in the sealed dishwasher nor in the box. So it had to have been broken off before the item was boxed. We called for warranty claim and A-1 Appliance was recommended out of Shreveport, LA. In a few weeks he showed up, looked at the rack for a while and said Ill have to order a new part. I said fine. (How hard can that be? Right?) So here we are 5 months later, unable to use the middle rack because it cant hold any weight with the roller missing. Multiple calls to Whirlpool and A1 and we keep getting promises and runarounds that turn out to be lies. How hard is it to say go to your local Lowes and well authorize them to give to give you a rack from an in-stock dishwasher? Let Lowes wait on the new part! Sounds simple, and any other company would have done that, or told us to return it to Lowes for another one. But NO! Whirlpool just whines about being behind on parts, shorthanded, or lies about the part is in and its A1s problem now.So, today, same story. A1 says they need 2 parts. **! Its one part. Whirlpool says A1 has the needed part. Same old runaround. So, we just replaced our 14 year old washer and dryer with NON Whirlpool units. $2500 more in of appliances that Whirlpool could have gotten, but Im guessing they dont even care about missing and losing sells. They certainly do not care about warranty, parts, quality, customer satisfaction or repeat customers. Never again with Whirlpool! Beware!

Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 201
Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 2016. Since week two, they have been a constant problem (i.e. not enough water to even get clothes wet, forget about clean; gulping soap from the dispenser; rubbing holes in clothing; putting rust on washed items). The dryer NEVER gets the clothes dry; no matter what setting they always come out damp, even after Ive put them through for two cycles.Three separate repairmen have come to work on the washer replacing sensors and the entire control board. It worked fine for two weeks, now its back to guzzling soap. (It is supposed to do up to 12 loads on one refill of detergent. I get two per refill. Ridiculous! Soap isnt cheap!) And, today it ruined brand new bathroom mats with rust all over them that I had to hand wash to try and remove without much success. At this point I would advise anyone looking for new appliances to try any other major brand and NOT Whirlpool. As soon as I can get the money, these are being junked and Im NEVER buying Whirlpool anything again!
