First three months, the main water gasket broke. Thank you for lots of water all over the kitchen. I pulled the washer out to inspect the cause, wanted to see if it was house plumbing or dishwasher. The hose was hanging off the bottom of the machine. During the 45-minute call, I got in my car and drove to plumbing supply and applied a new hose clamp. The next day, a free service call, the repairman said it was the second one this week, Thats just what I would have done, but would not put the machine back. (void the warranty, finish work, etc...not sure how he would have serviced the machine if I did not pull it out for him). A few months later the wheels on the top shelves give way/fall off the rack, so we have those replaced. As soon as one is replaced, the other side falls off... Now, approximately 14 months into installation, the dishwasher does not work. The control panel is flashing and will not start. What a runaround with KitchenAid. We were told there was a recall on the hose clamp (we never got one). We cannot have the control panel worked on until the hose clamp is certified... That will take a week. Then we can call back... What a hassle. We bought this expensive product on good reviews. We are most disappointed. There is very little concern for making the product good. Its incredible that so much can go wrong in such a short time of limited use. Once/day... The hose clamp is just poor engineering. The rest is terrible quality and support

NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

From the beginning, we were not really happy with the performance of the machine, which we felt was not cleaning as well as it should. Now it doesnt take the soap at all. The washing process goes on perfectly but without soap, so the dishes remain dirty.

I brought a water heater from Lowes in 2011 and I had a 6 year warranty on it which will end November 2017. Well now the water heater is leaking and they wont replace it because of the location of the water heater and they saying I need to get a direct water heater. Well what is the use of having a warranty if I cant get another water heater. I will never buy another water heater from Whirlpool! I cannot afford to get a direct water heater.

I was having trouble with our Whirlpool water heater and thought that wed have to shell out and buy a whole new one. Chris saw my complaint and helped me find the right replacement kit at a minimal cost, as my unit was out of warranty. He even took the extra step and overnighted the parts for us at no extra cost. I was extremely impressed with Chris professionalism and customer support skills.

I have had a plumbing company work on my Whirlpool water heater three times in the last two months. On the third visit, he told me all the problems customers have had with Whirlpool water heaters. I decided to call Whirlpool for warranty purposes. The unit is three years old. I was told that it was the gas valve, and I was given a free one from Lowes. After installing the new valve, it still did not work properly. After troubleshooting with a technician, I was told it was the orifice. I have had to do all the labor myself, and I dont know how long this is going to go on. I have heard Whirlpool will continue to give you the runaround (from the plumbing company and Lowes salesmen) and will continue to give you the runaround and not replace the unit. They are wearing me down. I have been without hot water for three weeks with no end in sight. I am ready to give up and just buy another water heater but certainly not a Whirlpool.

I purchased my new Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer to replace a Maytag that had finally given out in the summer of 2012. I wish I did more due diligence, but with a toddler and a newborn, I needed a washer asap. I severely regret my $800 purchase from Sears. It is now February 2013 and the machine basically only runs on two cycles - Casual and Normal. All the others stop in mid-cycle. Sometimes, the items are still dry or partially wet so I need to switch to another cycle to complete the wash. This is not good for Delicates or when I wash Whites, Heavy Duty or Bulky items which is one of the reasons I purchased the model. The cycle stops when the items are soaked with massive amounts of water. So I then have to turn it to the Drain cycle and start over. After a day of washing one load, I couldve done it the old-fashioned way in my utility basin sink and hung it out to dry ... I dont have the time for this. I am going to make a formal complaint to Whirlpool and to Sears. I cannot keep spending nearly $1,000 for items that break within a year. These companies should be ashamed of their lack of quality. I shouldve gone with the Electrolux and just dealt with the price tag - I wouldve been much happier.

Immediately after install, the oven door face kept coming loose, they did send someone to fix & replace. Ive used the self cleaning twice, first time was fine, second time not so much. The cleaning process left major scrum below the window inside the door & below, which wasnt there before I did the clean. I take great pride in keeping my oven clean, do not allow build up because then you cant get it clean. This stove is less than a year old & has only been in place for 6 1/2 mths (I purchased before remodeling was complete). My last stove I sold easily, it was clean & guess what. It was 32 years old, only replaced because of updating our kitchen!!! I contacted whirlpool & they said its cosmetic & not covered. I called Lowes, they refer me to the service advance phone #. Well that was Whirlpool, not Lowes. Still nothing being done, other than they sent me cleaning stuff to try and get it cleaned (still working on that). Im concerned this stove is going to continue to have issues & will be out of warranty soon. Whirlpool is not standing behind their products & we have been Whirlpool customers for a long time. If I have more issues with this stove, we will never purchase Whirlpool again. Dont buy their products, they dont stand behind them!

My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer model WTW6400SW2, serial CU2372784 type 480: I have had this set for about 4 years now. First, I had to replace the motherboard. And now today, I found out that the center post seal was leaking and caused a lot of damage. I was told that it would cost around $300 plus to get it fixed. I have seen on sites that this washer is a lot of trouble and the makers need to fix these problems. Also, the washer sounds like a jet running. We need the makers of Cabrio to step up and fix these problems or refund us the money that we have paid out for this thing. We, the people who have bought these machines, need a lawyer and to start filing lawsuits against these people.

Apparently, Whirlpool selling all their rejected faulty washing machine in the market. The trick they are playing is the machine being sold with one year parts-labor warranty; They wont replace these machines with a new one because they know that these machine will never work, consumer will buy the faulty machine, obviously it wont work so consumer will call for service. The service guy will say that “oh! Machine needs a part and then the customer service will say “the part is being ordered”, “wait”, then the service guy will come with the part and after wasting some time he will say “Oh! The machine needs another part, and again customer service will tell the consumer that “you keep calling us”. One year will be gone! Bottom line – faulty machine is sold, Whirlpool made profit, buyer is robbed. I am one unfortunate customer who purchased Whirlpool Washing Machine which never worked as it is a faulty machine which should not go to the market at all; Whirlpool made money on my hard-earned dollars and I been robbed.

What a horrible experience. I purchased a Whirlpool Duet HE Front Loading Steam Washer in 9/9. I have used it no more than 15 times. It has an error code F70. I called Whirlpool and used one of their recommended technicians. He was there for no more than five minutes and he informed me that it was one of the two parts--one is $300, the other is $500. Both these parts are computer chips. He instructed me to call Whirlpool stating that they would give me the parts for free. I did, and they refused stating that the product is now out of the one-year warranty. This is clearly defective. I am now faced with $1,000 fix. I feel that I was further misled by Whirlpool because they should have told me before the service call that I was going to have to pay $1,000. The customer service reps and the manager were both unresponsive and rude.

We bought a Whirlpool with convection oven, it is beautiful and very well designed and fully electronic. You can only control it via touchscreen Which, when the software runs into blocks, it is impossible to troubleshoot efficiently, you just have to wait until it completes its rebooting. It is very frustrating to spend hundreds of euros in a device you just cant control when it crashes. Horrible programming made for a horrible user experience. You have the feeling of not being able to use it or fix, it is like having a mobile phone or computer Which only works on what appears to be a random logic. The errors displayed on the screen are often vague and the user troubleshooting manual is just plain short. We will return it without doubt and dont recommended ever buying this device.

Very similar experience with warranty issues as everyone else. I purchased a brand new $2k side by side stainless steel model in Dec of 2013. It began not cooling in August of 2014 and they have since had 8 repairs and still will not exchange the fridge/replace the fridge. In a recent decision regarding the highly expensive, supposed elite performing Whirlpool Gold refrigerators, a group of unsatisfied Whirlpool owners who are tired of cleaning water puddles from in front of their new refrigerators have hired all automobile corporations to manufacture cars only available to the CEO, Executive Board as well as the entire engineering staff at Whirlpool. These cars will be guaranteed to run ok. However, once the car is heated up under normal working conditions, the cars will be guaranteed to leak oil all over whatever surface they are parked upon. We hope that this will not be an inconvenience to the CEO of Whirlpool; however, perhaps once you have destroyed your new garage floor, you will understand the nature of our complaint with your poorly designed and engineered Whirlpool product. While this letter will have no effect on my current defective product provided to me by Whirlpool, it makes me feel better and I have not had the attention span to listen to my wife complain while she is cleaning up yet another (whirl) pool underneath our fridge.

We our adding our name to a list that is remarkably long. We purchased a top loading Cabrio washing machine just over a year ago and the problems with the balancing of the unit are the same as everyone else who has written in. The service company A&E has promised a lot but has done little to resolve the issues we have had with the machine. One representative told us that she would order the part and have it sent to our home. When the part did not arrive, we called A&E back only to find out it was never ordered because the service technician would not return their phone calls. I find this excuse ridiculous and similar to other false statements they have given us on the other four phone calls made to address the problem. The doors never lined up or closed properly from day one. The final and last attempt to fix was putting caulk in the seal of the doors!! Left door does not seal properly and moisture builds up on inside. I requested several times for a new one and Whirlpool refused. Also purchased microwave, stove and dishwasher. Microwave went out 6 months after using it. They had to replace a major part. At least they did this at no charge. Just the hassle of having to be home 2 times to meet service tech. Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

The French door fridge with the freezer drawers on the bottom are very flexible and easy to access. It goes downhill from there. The ice maker takes 4 days to fill up the bin with no use. The unit does not defrost and freezes up every six weeks requiring a manual defrost. Three mods have been made under the service contract and performance has not improved. PC boards have been replaced and at least one thermistor. My understanding is this is a single compressor unit with piping, relays and valves to port refrigerant to two different evaporators as needed. Unfortunately it simply does not properly balance/defrost and the freezer door freezes up. It certainly is not compatible with a high humidity environment. We will never buy another cooling design like this, but sure like the French Door layout. Glad we have a service contract.

I bought a brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer set -Cabrio- $1700.00 in 2011. It is by far the worst washing machine I have ever purchased, and I am 60 years old!!! It is now three years old and has been repaired at least 4 times. Long story short... after hours & hours on the phone, along with many threats! (By the way I had to ask for a manager two times up the ladder for this to happen as they just kept repeating that it was out of warranty coverage). I also told them that I was going to have one of my company trucks deliver this machine to Sears lot, along with a paid person to inform every shopper of my plight with this washer and the lack of service from Sears and Whirlpool! Whirlpool finally agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor on this most current repair. (This time it is the transmission!! In the past it was the Hub, twice. The gear case twice and the belt a number of times). I am now going back to Sears to request (that might not be the correct word) Demand, that they take care of the service bill for this machine. In between repairs, I have dealt with ongoing cleaning quality problems. This machine does not get clothes clean. I always have to wash them twice. This machine is loud. This machine does not use enough water to even dissolve the soap. So much for energy saving measures when you have to wash twice and still see soap and crud in the tub. Worst, worst, ever washing machine in my life!! By the way, I have an 8 year old Maytag too that I have never had to repair. Moral of the story, buy Maytag, or at least do not buy a Cabrio!!!!

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio set, in 2009. I bought the top loading washer, and matching dryer. Since 2009, I have had the washer serviced FIVE times. Bearings, water pump, F1, F2, ul codes, and a few other things, I honestly cant remember. I love this capacity. But that is all I love about this machine. Today, the water pump went out again. I have been reading online regarding loose coins making their way into the drain pump, the hose, and other parts of the washer. I am diligent about emptying my pockets, but, obviously, someone in the house is not. There should be a trap for the coins, buttons, and any other debris that passes through, but, clearly there is not, and it appears I am not the only one with this problem. I am so frustrated. I paid almost $3,000.00 for this set. It was my very first brand new set and I have had so many problems with this. With all of the problems and all of the complaints, and so many similar complaints, why is Whirlpool not acknowledging them? Why are they not doing anything about it? Side note, my dryer works fine.

Here in Brazil, we use to have a very good brand of durable and reliable refrigerators and home appliances called Brastemp, and I was a very happy, fidelized customer of theirs. The time came for me to move to my new house. I gave my old appliances away to friends and modeled my new kitchen with Brastemp products. What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since. The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! You bought a nice brand, trashed it and gave the finger to fidelized customers you acquired with the new brand by replacing quality products with built-in obsolescence others. What do you plan to do next? Whatever it is, dont count on me as a customer ever again.

We purchased the Whirlpool washer less than a year ago and are now having the 4th transmission put into it. We are also having the 3rd timer put into it. We purchased this from Sears and bought the extended warranty (thank God). One of the times the technician ordered the parts to repair the machine. The service center sent the wrong parts and we had to wait an additional week for the correct parts to arrive. The 3rd transmission they installed lasted a week before it leaked gear oil all over our floor. When you do get a service call scheduled it will get rescheduled to a later date. This happened twice. They also cancelled the service call once before they fixed the machine. If I could give a zero star for this I would. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER AND DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO SEARS FOR ANYTHING. Worst company to business with. I will say this that the service guy that comes out to do the work is a good guy. He stayed until almost 9:00 pm on one of the service calls. Hes been here so many times our dog knows him and doesnt bark at him anymore.

Just wondered if anyone else has had a problem with the paint bubbling up and peeling off their washer and/or dryer. My washer and dryer are in my laundry room off the kitchen with a heat and air vent in the room and I dont understand why my paint is doing this. They are about 5 years old and have always been in this room, never in a garage or basement. My dryer was rusting on the outside about 3 years ago and even though I bought the extended warranty, Whirlpool said it was only cosmetic and they wouldnt do anything about it. I bought them at Lowes and they were good enough to give me a new one to replace it. Both of the machines now have the paint bubbling up and peeling off and there is nothing that can be done. Anybody else have this problem and if so what can be done to repair the paint? This is my 3rd set of Whirlpool washer and dryers over the past 44 years and I will purchase another brand next time.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washer in 2009. It stopped working and I found that it needs a new control panel and recirculating pump which will cost $390, including labor (plus the cost of the service call to diagnose the problem). I would not have expected to have this type of problem with a washer within 3 years of purchase. I cannot recommend this machine.

Since buying a Whirlpool Cabrio washer about 3 years ago have had several breakdowns. Within 6 months the computer completely failed. Since then it failed again. About every six months it costs me around $125 to get it running. The thing is a piece of junk. If the load is slightly unbalanced it just shuts down during the spin cycle. The old Maytag we had ran for over 25 years with the belt replaced once. No other problems. Will not buy another Whirlpool again.

Purchase a brand new Whirlpool fridge at the Fry’s Electronic in 2017. Broke down in 2018 almost 1 year after. Called Whirlpool company for replacing a new one. They didn’t replace before they had sent out a certified technician for fixing 3 times. It took forever to fix it, and still had the same problem after months. Finally, they agreed to replace a new one. Now I still have the same problem with a newer one which they replaced it over a year ago (including fixing and placing time). Just called to the Whirlpool company today for fixing or replacing, spoke to rep Sara, she said that it’s no longer under warranty because it’s more than 1 year. I told her that because the company didn’t replace right away; therefore, it has been more than 1 year; but from the time they replaced it, it hasn’t been 1 year. Ill never buy any Whirlpool products again.

We purchased our 4 French door refrigerator on 1/22/15. It started making a loud noise, like an air compressor. It continue to get louder and louder over a period of a couple of days. Called the dealer where it was purchased and a repairman was not available for another week. When the repairman showed up and diagnosed the problem which was a leak in the freezer causing ice and the fan to hit the ice, they were not equipped to fix that type of problem. We were advised to call Whirlpool consumer dept. which we did, and was advised they would send out another repairman and would be another week. Have had to move food and freezer items out of refrigerator. Two and one half weeks and no solution. Five month old refrigerator that is not usable. Very disappointed in product and service.

WRF989SDAB00 - Our house burnt down in April 2012. We purchased all Whirlpool products to be put back into our house. We had to purchase these items in November 2012 so the contractor could get them into our house because of the cabinets. We did not move into our house until the last week of December and could not use these items until then. In December of 2013, our freezer went out along with the ice maker. I had to fight for Whirlpool to pay for these repairs. They kept saying that it was over the one year warranty. They did accept responsibility and paid for A&E to come look at the frig. One guy came out the first time and thought he fixed it. No. A month later two guys came out. They said it was the condenser. They ordered the parts and came back a third time to replace it. A month and a half later, same problem. A&E came out a fourth time and thought they fixed it again. Nope. During this period, I purchased a extended service plan. I AM TELLING EVERYONE TO DO THIS NOW BECAUSE IT TAKES 60 DAYS FOR THIS PLAN TO TAKE EFFECT. Now the service plan people sent a different company out and he said it is going to cost a lot of money because the things that need to be replaced. The plan SHOULD cover all of this. I called both the service company and Whirlpool demanding that they send us a replacement frig. I believe sending someone out at least SIX TIMES to fix the same problem is ridiculous. Each company is blaming the other and each is saying its the others responsibility to replace the frig.

The wife and I are retired and when it came time to purchase a new washer, we thought we would spend the money and buy top of the line so it would possibly outlast us. So we went to Lowes and spent $1000.00 plus on a Cabrio. Within the first year, the control board went bad, replaced under warranty, now no matter how little or much of a load the wife puts in this piece of crap, it goes off balance!!!Of course as previously stated, customer service doesnt give a crap because we also saw no need for an extended warranty having made such a large investment in a washing machine that we thought was built with a high standard of quality, SHAME ON US, SHAME ON YOU, WHIRLPOOL!!! You have lost a customer who has been buying your products for a long time but will never buy another and will be warning everyone we can to do the same.

We bought a Whirlpool washer (Model # WTW4900BWO) and dryer (#WED4850BW) and within 2 months I was having problems with the washer AND dryer. Every time I washed a load of clothes, the clothes would have some yucky stuff hanging all over it. I called Whirlpool and was told to try setting the washer on 1 Rinse with Softener even though I never use a liquid softener. Their suggestion did solve the problem, but why doesnt a brand-new washer work the way its supposed to? A short time later, my dryer buzzer stopped working and the knob would not advance when set on the Energy Preferred setting. I called Whirlpool again and was told they did not have a service technician in the area where I lived and that it was not likely that one technician would come on the same day to service both machines. I asked why they would sell their products in an area where they were not willing to service them and they said that is the choice of the store that sold it to me. Then they told me there was a service technician available about 40 miles away and they would fax the order to them so they could contact me. The technician who came did look at both machines and was able to determine that the control panel needed replacing on the dryer, but was not able to do anything about the Rinse Option problem on the washer. He suggested that I continue to follow the recommendation of Whirlpool as long as it works. I can do that, but Im not happy that a new machine does not work the way its supposed to. He also recommended NOT using liquid laundry detergent or fabric softener in my washer because it contains animal fat and can build up and cause problems. Nowhere in the manual did it say that. He took the washer apart and showed me how it was already building up under the washer basket. I told the technician that my laundry has had an unpleasant odor to it when it comes out of the washer and even after it is dry. He said that might be because of the small amount of water that is used in the energy saving washer. If these problems cannot be resolved, I consider this washer to be a lemon and hope it will be replaced with a new one. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a traditional washer. I liked the idea of conserving water, but not if my familys clothes stinks.

We purchased a brand new home with a brand new Whirlpool microwave in it. It was a combo, over the range/hood vent, model WMH1162XVB-0. Every now and again, sparks fly when preparing vegetables. Three times a repairman came to our home with no results. Each time, the problem persisted, with no improvement. On the first visit, the diagnosis was that we did not know how to properly use a microwave. It was noted that they gave us operating instructions and a personal tutorial to solve the problem. On the 2nd visit, we were instructed to buy a protective cover for our bowls when using the microwave. I asked if this would solve the problem, and was told no, but at least we wouldnt see it. This time, the random sparks happened in front of the repair man. He responded that it was the high iron content in the corn and peas that would ignite the sparks. Also, he said we needed to thaw everything before putting it in the microwave. Again, our issue was listed as consumer-use error and nothing was done.On the 3rd visit, we explained that we could not use the microwave on any setting higher than 70 for risking of sparks flying. We showed him the cover we were using, and the permanent marks being left by sparks. Again, the serviceman witnessed the sparks flying, even on thawed peas and corn that simply needed to be heated. He responded that by adjusting the power, and using the cover, we were obviously learning how to work the microwave and informed us that the next service call for this issue would be at our expense. There was nothing they would do for us, as the problem was our fault, not theirs. We explained that other neighbors with the same microwaves are not having this trouble, and we felt it was simply a faulty unit. He didnt seem to agree, nor care what we felt.I have been using microwaves daily for over 20 years. Our neighbors, having the same exact model, have had no issues at all. I know this is simply a faulty unit, and feel endangered each time I use the microwave. Whats even worse is the way Whirlpool has handled our situation. Our microwave is now 4 years old, and I have learned to rely on my toaster oven. When people visit, we have to caution them on the microwave. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliance for my home again. I do not trust the quality of their products or their service.

We have had our range for over one year. The main problem is that the large burners are in the front and the small burners are in the back. This means that when we are using the two front burners we cannot access the rear burners safely. (What country provided the engineering design for this?) One minor problem is that we cannot get used to the burner control arrangement. The outside controls control the front burners and the inside controls control the back burners. Our old range was the right control for the back burner and the left was for the front burner. Another small problem is that there is no back to the pan drawer. So, with the drawer full if a pan move when the drawer is shut it will be scraped off the drawer and fall into the back and becomes hard to reach to remove.

I called whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep, he told me that I needed to clean the surface immediately after something spill on it. To make sure if I understood it right, I asked him You mean when I am cooking some rice and some water spill out, do I have to remove the pot and clean the surface and repeat that all along while I am cooking? I purchased my Cabrio washer and dryer 2 1/2 years ago, and for the past 6 months, I have dealt with it being unbalanced and I tried everything to get it balanced. When I researched the problems, I found so many other consumers are having the same problems and that Whirlpool will do nothing about it. I decided to start a petition on Change website to try to force Whirlpool to stand behind their product and correct the problem, offer us a refund or another product, or even fix the darn thing. It is tough economic times, and we spent money to have something that was energy-efficient as well as a product that is supposed to carry a good name. I am a single mother with three children, and I dont have a $1000.00 to throw away after 2 years. This is shameful that we, the consumers, have to deal with this. Please go to the Change website and sign my petition. The more signatures I get, the more leverage we have to deal with Whirlpool. Lets pull together and show Whirlpool we will not stand for them robbing us of a quality product. Thank you so very much.

After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

This is our second Whirlpool refrigerator that has the same defrost water drainage problem. I was told this newer model had updated technology, not so, actually it is worse. My older refrigerator went about 8 years before I started noticing water on the floor and this newer model is 4 years old and it started having water overflow at 3 1/2 years. Then in April we replaced the water filter and the ice-maker stopped working. My freezer also stinks like stale water (my reason for replacing the old refrigerator plus the water on the floor). I followed a YouTube video for defrosting the drainpipe, it was very tedious, labor intensive, and time consuming and worked for 3 weeks. This is very upsetting. After spending $2500 to have such problems and my expensive $150 4-year extended warranty expired just weeks before the ice-maker went out. This is obviously a design problem that Whirlpool refuses to address since my other model was a year 2000 model and my 2013 has the exact same problem. VERY POOR customer care in addressing these design failures of both the defrost drainage (just make a larger drain port!!!) and the ice-maker.

My 3 door fridge is roomy, well lighted and well organized. I love the fact that when I open the doors, I can see everything at a glance. The freezer section is also well organized and holds plenty. Being able to get filtered water and ice in the door is convenient. The main reason I picked Whirlpool is that it is made in the USA! I want to support American manufacturers that employ my fellow citizens.

We moved into a new home (brand new construction) in Dec 2018. The ice maker/water dispenser has never worked. Weve had 2 different repair people come a total of 5 times to no avail. Now have to deal with Whirlpool directly to deal with Warranty. Will Whirlpool offer a new fridge? No, they will send a replacement door. 8 months later and we still have a fridge that does not work. Not impressed with Whirlpool and extremely unsatisfied with the produce. Do not buy this brand.

EveryDay Care? Every day I hope the part needed to make my new Whirlpool refrigerator work again is delivered so it can be repaired. I bought it in December and since then the WRF992FIFM has had the ice maker fail and need replacement and the fan unit in the refrigerator went out 2 days later. It has been nearly a week now and I am using dry ice to keep my refrigerator cold enough to store some food. The authorized repair service did not have the part and Whirlpool is shipping it directly to me but I do not know when. No tracking info, nothing. Three days and no delivery. Then I must call the repair service back to schedule yet another appointment to install it. Meanwhile, I am paying $13.00 to $20.00 per day for dry ice, not to mention the time I had to take off of work for three service calls - for an appliance I took delivery of on December 21st! Less than 2 months. I am finding out quickly that Whirlpool is very generous with apologies and stingy with results. I should have checked the Whirlpool FB page before making my purchase. But they sure are quick to try and sell you the extended warranty. I am developing a whopping case of buyers remorse.

Whirlpool Duet $1300, in the past we had great service from other Whirlpool products. Just a more modern look and knowing it was a company we had used in the past with very little or no problems so we expected the same only with energy and water savings. We are energy aware and believe in conserving energy and water where we can. My wife wanted to stick with the brand that gave us good service in the past and chose one of their most conservative units on the market (I believe it was based mainly on looks). What burns me the most about this unit is its constant consumption of clothing, the repair guy found nothing askew with the unit and suggested smaller loads. So we reduced the load size smaller and smaller till we were washing each outfit separately and guess what, it still ate clothes, just chews them up.We lose about a hundred dollars a month in clothing. This washer tears holes and shreds clothing on almost every load, I have to put shirts and lighter clothes to the back of the washer then load the heavier blue jeans and such toward the front and hope they finish in the same position or something is ruined. The fabric becomes distressed, stretched, shredded or has holes, or any combination of the above. We have taken to going to a laundromat or sending clothes to the cleaners. These units are three years old and we are now looking for a replacement for the washer because the local service guy won’t even come out any more. This problem surfaced within a week of the first use of the machine and has remained steady, as we are retired and travel a lot we are not always using them so they are what I would term very lightly used.

Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator and now it is dead after only 3 years - the gas is gone. The Dealer at Budget Appliance Surrey told us it was not a good fridge to begin with (but sold it to us for $900.00) and that Whirlpool had made a lot of fridges cheaply to begin with... So it was not their (Budgets) fault. When I contacted Whirlpool they were really too big to listen to my complaint and even though I had the receipt, they did not care to hear my complaint either. Never buy a Whirlpool fridge.

I had to turn the gas off my water heater and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused. I called the number on the heater and somebody answered. The guy told me to take the pilot gas hose off to make sure there was gas in the line. I did this but after spending 1/2 hour putting the pipe back in, the pilot light did not go on. I called them back and they told me to push a white switch and hold it down for 10 seconds and retry. That didnt work either so they told me to call a repair man and gave me the phone number of a local plumber. Trying not to give up, I removed the pilot light pipe off and tried blowing and sucking on it. I couldnt get air through the pipe so I figure that somehow it was clogged. I tried taking the whole assembly off (there are 2 screws to remove) but couldnt get that out. I called Whirlpool again and asked for a manual to be sent over the internet but I couldnt open that either. The water heater is only 3 years old and already Ill be paying to repair it.

40-gal gas water heater - I own several rental properties and unfortunately put Whirlpool water heaters in them when the old ones go. It is because they are at Lowes and they are cheap. Today, another call came in from a tenant with no hot water. I called customer service and they determined I received the repair kit from an original design defect from back in the middle 2000s. Now 3 years later, it goes out again. Because I have already received the conversion kit taking thermal couple threading from LH to RH, I needed another part number to repair for a grand total of $160! The same part before the conversion kit was $60. I will never buy another Lowes/Whirlpool water heater for as long as I live. I own a hundred rentals and Whirlpool will never again see another cent for the junk water heaters.

A few months ago our Whirlpool microwave just completely died. We had only been in our brand new home for about 18 months at the time, so I was very disappointed. I would have bought a different brand at that time, but didnt want it to look ridiculous, as it is mounted in the cabinet above the Whirlpool oven I was shocked to get a text from my wife a couple days ago, saying the same thing had happened to our oven. I thought that it must be a circuit breaker. My parents had Whirlpool appliances in my home growing up and we never had a problem with our oven. Well... I was wrong not a circuit breaker. The thing is just dead. Nice... Thanks Whirlpool! Thanks Century Communities for installing the absolute cheapest products in my home! Wonder what will be next? Probably the range top... Purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator WRT771REYM at Home Depot in June 2014. Within a few months of purchase, had to call for a repair tech because the water line had frozen. Tech unfroze it and told us not to block the air vents to avoid this happening again. The amount of care we have to take to load this fridge so as not to have the water line freeze is ridiculous. Its very picky. For a while, we were still having to unfreeze the line every couple of months. Then it became more and more frequent, to the point where we cant keep it unfrozen for more than a few hours. This seems like shoddy design to me. And of course, the warranty is expired so I am out of luck unless I want to pay for repairs out of pocket.Adding insult to injury, Whirlpool claims that this isnt a common issue. Not true - there are numerous reviews about this very issue on Amazon, Sears, Home Depot, etc. Just try googling the model #. Sad that Whirlpool does not stand behind its products. Yet another American company to stop building quality and rely on planned obsolescence to ensure revenue generation.

It makes a very loud annoying sound through at least a third of the cycle (which I was just told by Whirlpool is the normal agitating sound). I have had too many problems with the thermocouple beginning about two years after I purchased the water heater in 2003. Whirlpool keeps replacing the thermocouple, but I have to pay for the plumber to come out and repair the unit. This runs me about $180 each time. The thermocouple has burned out three times since September of this year. The plumber didnt charge me anything the second time it went out. But it went out for the 3rd time today and he recommended that I replace the unit. Of course, it is out of warranty and Whirlpool was happy to tell me that I could purchase a new thermocouple at my own expense from them. I have paid for this water heater three times over with repairs. Whirlpool knows that there is a defect with the design of the water heater. There is no way that a regular consumer can get inside the water heater to clean it. I will never purchase any Whirlpool products ever! I advise anyone reading this to follow suit.

He managed to restart the pilot and we had hot water again, but it went out again within 12 hours. Well, I found this site and read one of the positive reviews that provided the WP toll free number, so I called. Talk about great customer service! Ben was amazing – he took down all my info and was very helpful. Even though the warranty expired years ago, he overnighted me the replacement parts I needed at no charge. We purchased a new Whirlpool Refrigerator less than 3 years ago. The last couple of weeks the freezer hasnt been keeping cold enough. We lost about $300 worth of food in it. The refrigerator section isnt keeping as cold as it should. I call Whirlpool, but didnt have a warranty, so if I paid more money we could have a warranty and get it fixed. Who has that kind of money. When we purchased our appliances we thought we were buying good quality appliances. That sure isnt the case. They should last way longer than less than 3 years.I called where we purchased it from. Had the service man come out. There are four major parts that are wrong with it. $800 plus at least 3 hours of labor. Not worth that. Again who can afford such money as this. I called Whirlpool again. They could give me money off a new fridge but it would still cost almost $1600. Im so unhappy with the appliances. We also have a stove and that doesnt work right either. I believe that we should be compensated way more than they are offering. I would not buy another Whirlpool again. I will make sure people know that it isnt good quality. Im so sad. Who would have thought. It is time that the people at the top of the company think of those lower than they are. The people I spoke to on phone were very kind. I know they really cant do much. I bought a fridge from this company not even 14 months ago. Went away for a week and came home to a fridge and freezer of rotten food. The fridge had died - Im guessing not long after I had gone away by the look and smell of the food and house. I have had nothing but the run around ever since that day. Spoke to this person and then that person. The electrician confirmed that my fridge is completely dead because of the compressor. So they sent a report to Whirlpool and they have now confirmed that I will get a new fridge. Now Im being told that will take 7-14 days. So I have been left with no food whatsoever as well as no fridge. I have two kids and cant even buy shopping for my son to take to school. And now Im being told that I had 9 months left on the warranty for the fridge that died and that’s all I will get on a new fridge. Should I not receive a new warranty for a new fridge? And should they replace my food? Could really do with some feedback on this matter. Please help me.

I purchased it in 2011 for $1100 Canadian. Smooth glass top and true convection. The controls were easy to use, and understand. What bothered me was that it stopped working just after the warranty ran out. I did my research, and found that the newer ranges that have the controls on top at the back have issues with the motherboard overheating, and causing this problem. I did speak to Whirlpool customer service, and managed to convince them to supply the replacement part at no cost. I paid my local dealer to install it. This repair lasted for just over 1 year. Same problem again. This time I could not convince Whirlpool to supply the part. FYI The part in question is the controller. Essentially a motherboard. All the controls are operated through this small computer. It is the only replacement part that costs over $100. Last I checked it was around $450 Canadian. The reason for the fault is overheating. According to the tech that fixed it the first time, it is the most common problem with this style of range. I find this concerning considering the only thing a range does is create heat!Keep in mind that you are virtually held over a barrel. There are only two companies that market their products under multiple names adding up to over 80% of the appliances on the market. They battle for that market by offering more bells and whistles, and less quality. The Range I replaced four years ago was 20 years old. I just replaced my Whirlpool 3 months ago. I went outside of the 80%, and bought a Samsung. Im rolling the dice, and went with induction top. My theory is it will produce less heat because it just heats the pot, not the stove top.Low quality drives me nuts. I want fewer bells and whistles, and more long lasting reliability. I should be able to go my lifetime and only buy two or three ranges. We really like the induction top. It works fast, and doesnt produce too much excess heat. Dual zone oven is a good idea. We werent looking for it, but there was a deal on. The dual zone induction range was only $50 more than the regular one beside it. Now my wife uses it all the time. She will have cookies in one zone, and a casserole for supper in the other. True convection is the other must have. It does a great job cooking everything evenly.

Bought water heater from Lowes in 2016. 4 days ago I came home to find water all over garage and a burnt smell coming from the water heater. Whirlpools warranty department is absolutely horrible. I spent 3 days sending pictures of the water heater, circuit breakers and water on garage floor with cc sent to my husbands email account and mine. Each day I would telephone the warranty department and told that they never received pictures and they couldnt do anything until they received the pictures. I asked for a supervisor who wouldnt even come to the phone. Both my husband and myself received the pics and email just fine. A representative said they have firewalls and things attached so that they cant receive attachments and downloads. So I sent directly from my phone and they still claimed they never received. They refused to give me contact phone numbers for supervisors. Out of frustration I called the Lowes store where I purchased and a store representative spent 4 hours making phone calls trying to help. She was completely frustrated as well. I was told even though there is a 6 year warranty, I am to pay parts and labor and that the repair company for my area that Whirlpool utilizes doesnt even deal with Whirlpool parts so that whatever is needed would have to be ordered! Im on day 4 of no hot water, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This product was installed by Lowes and inspected by the state, not a DIY!
