Absolute junk. Bought an entire matching set 2 years ago. Fridge, microwave, dishwasher and oven. Oven is the most user unfriendly thing I have ever bought. That’s my fault. Microwave failed. 300 to replace. Ice maker in side by side fridge failed, another 300 dollar fix. I used to have a field mouse or two get into the house every year. Don’t have that problem anymore because the fridge is so loud it scares them off. Talking to Customer service was the most frustrating thing of all. They think if they say your name in a nice soft tone long enough it will make everything ok. Mother and father raved about Whirlpool products. How times have changed. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of these products. Also, look up the other brand names made in the same factory and steer clear of those as well. I used to think appliances were all the same. How wrong I was. Do your research. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

This Whirlpool top load washer has been an awesome product. I have had it for 9 years and havent had a bit of trouble. Its very quiet and very reliable. The only maintenance is running a cleaning tablet on the cleaning setting once per month, and it tells you when its due... No musty smell problems that I hear from people with front loaders. Its a great product.

I purchased a high dollar built in side by side fridge with custom panels in 4/2005 and had my first service call in 5/2005. Since 2005 we have had 11 service call mostly for defrost failures and over temp. readings. From 2011-11/20/2013 we were issue free then the fridge over temp alarm sounded and we could not hear the fan motor. We had the certified tech come out to evaluate and found that the main control board needed to be replaced. Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool no longer make this item and forwarded us to Core Centric solutions to have a new one built. After speaking with the certified tech who had been out to service our fridge 11 times he informed us that these boards in his experience have never lasted more than a year. We spoke with a customer service rep a Kitchen Aid and asked about a prorated discount on a new built in fridge and she said it seemed reasonable but after checking for authorization informed me I needed to have the board rebuilt at my own cost and that even though this typically takes about 4 weeks to build the fact that our family would be without a fridge is not Kitchen Aids problem. 6/20/2005-over temp/not cooling call (replaced defrost thermostat) 9/2005-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (freezer decided and drain unclogged) 10/05-over temp/not cooling (replaced fan motor) 9/06-over temp/freezer iced over in bottom (drain line decided, kitchen aid had no advice on how to fix) 10/06-over temp/not cooling, ice build up (whirlpool recommended replace heat kit and bimetal) 11/7-over temp and ice buildup in freezer with leakage (adj to drain pump and defrost drain basin made) 11/07- over temp and freezer icing over (whirlpool sent out a new heater probe) 6/08-over temp and ice buildup (bimetal and foam block replaced) 10/09-over temp, lights and motor shutting on and off (replaced defective board) 10/09- fan making excessive noise (ice buildup found on evaporator fan)11/13-over temp ice buildup in freezer, burning smell from fridge and no air movement or cooling in either compartment (need board rebuilt as on 10/09)Board no longer available from whirlpool, must be custom built at owners expense and will take up to 4 weeks. D/t continuing issues and whirlpool not willing to help the customer with replacement I would highly suggest no one buy a Kitchen Aid fridge.

We purchased an over-the-stove Whirlpool microwave in January 2011, when we remodeled our kitchen. In May 2014 after a loud pop, the microwave stopped working. This was Model # GMH6185XVS-1. Of course, the warranty is no longer in effect. I feel a high-end appliance that cost $500 should last longer than 3 years. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product.

Purchased this fridge just over a year ago WRF555sdfz for over 2K. The stainless steel is starting to come OFF. Advertised as stainless Steel. Must be fake! Called customer service. I was told they could do NOTHING because it was a cosmetic issue. Remodeled our entire new kitchen. Thank god other stainless steel appliance are made by other manufacturers with no “COSMETIC” ISSUES. Will never buy another Whirlpool product and I will tell everyone I know.

We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot.
We just received our brand new Whirlpool washer and dryer from Home Depot. The delivery person started the washer and started the dryer and promptly departed. My husband immediately put a load of laundry into the washer, and he noticed there was insufficient water levels to adequately wet the clothing. Approximately 3 tablespoons of warm water were added at intervals of approximately one minute each. The water level never rose above 3 inches at the bottom of the tub despite setting the washer on the heavily soiled setting. After the spin cycles he removed the extremely damp clothing and it appeared that the machine had not properly completed the spin cycle and drained an insufficient amount of water from the clothing. He tried another load, and it appeared that the sensors were not working which regulate the water levels because most new machines use far less water. However this washer was defective. He then placed the clothes in the brand new Whirlpool dryer. The clothes ran for over five hours and never dried and the dryer never got hot. There was obviously something wrong with the thermostat. We are both disgusted and will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. In addition because of the extremely poor response from Home Depot, we will never purchase an appliance from them again either. So sad that Made In America, which was on a sticker on the front of the machines, does it mean diddly squat these days.

Bought a Whirlpool Freezer on bottom in Feb 2012. Its December 2015. Only had gotten a 2-yr warranty. Wished I would have gotten a longer one. About a yr ago the freezer started leaking water all over the bottom of the freezer which turned into a sheet of ice... then leaking water all over the floor. Now there is a knocking/clicking noise coming from the back of it. This product is only 4 yrs old and Im praying it doesnt give out on us. That was an almost $2,000 purchase. I was hoping to at least get 10 yrs out of it. Never buying a Whirlpool Fridge again.

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is less than one year old and quit working. Sears was supposed to come out and fix it (I even have the extended warranty till 2014). Service never showed up; when we called, they told us we had been rescheduled. Here it is the rescheduled day time slot and they still have not arrived. Im getting the runaround from them and I am supposed to be grateful because they gave me a $75 gift card for my inconvenience. Im on hold with Whirlpool because I just want them to take the washer back. I have been told by Sears since it is over 90 days, they cannot refund my money. I just have to wait for a repair which may or may not happen since they may not have the parts. This is unsatisfactory service from both Sears and Whirlpool. I have always bought my appliances through Sears and they have always been Whirlpool. I wish I would have read all these reviews before I purchased this model.

I bought what I thought was a great washing machine. It is a top loading Cabrio from Whirlpool. The machine leaves white residue on all my dark clothing. It is a disaster. I am following washing instructions exactly, using HE detergent, loading the right amount, I even tried using PODS. I tried different temperature water, different cycles of washing and spinning and the same thing happens. I had an old Maytag that broke that cleaned beautifully. This thing is a piece of garbage and I would love to send it back if they would let me. DO NOT BUY IT. I AM BEGGING YOU, YOU WILL BE VERY UPSET.

July 2017 I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator Model # WRF757SDEM00 S/NK51709722. The refrigerator portion went out, the repairman said it was the fan therefore I spent 351.00 dollars for house call and fan. When that did not work the repairman spoke to whirlpool and they said the panel of small computer may go out with it 212.00 plus tax. Did not allow that and tried another repairman who said the value that switches from freezer to refrigerator was out and if I could find someone to fix it would cost between 600 and 800. I went out and bought a Samsung because on the front said 10 year warranty. At least anything is better than 1 year whirlpool offers. There is NOTHING in the name.

I bought a 3 burner glass hob under your built-in cooktop category (model no. AKCG 930-90 cm) in Nov. 2015 from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In the month of April 2015 I started having problems with the medium burner. The problems was rectified on 29-4-2017 after some replacements that cost me Rs. 5000. After two months again the same problem occurred, the medium burner was not igniting again, I registered a complaint on 5-7-2017, the representative came and did some maintenance and left but the same problem resurfaced after a few days.I was fed up of complaining and started using the burner during necessity by placing a weight on top of the knob. Finally on 15th Feb 2018 while I was using the stove the glass top cracked into pieces. My experience of the companys built-in cooktop is horrible and bitter. Every time I registered a complaint the representatives used to attend the complaint after 2 weeks and that too after so many phone calls. I am really dissatisfied with the service and quality of the product. I therefore strongly recommend customers not to buy this product.

Whirlpool gas range Model#wfg10h0ah1 with aqua lift technology. This is the biggest ripoff that was ever done to me. It say self clean, not it cleans and then you clean. This is fraud plain and simple. I am handicapped and made it very clear to the salesperson that it had to be self cleaning. 4 times I did the clean cycle and I was in shock, I called repair, I thought the self clean was broken. However this is the line they give you over and over, that its not broken. This is working the way it was designed to work. So they made a range that is self cleaning, but no it doesnt do that. For 899.99, I did not deserve to get duped like this.

I had to turn the gas off my water heater and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused. I called the number on the heater and somebody answered. The guy told me to take the pilot gas hose off to make sure there was gas in the line. I did this but after spending 1/2 hour putting the pipe back in, the pilot light did not go on. I called them back and they told me to push a white switch and hold it down for 10 seconds and retry. That didnt work either so they told me to call a repair man and gave me the phone number of a local plumber. Trying not to give up, I removed the pilot light pipe off and tried blowing and sucking on it. I couldnt get air through the pipe so I figure that somehow it was clogged. I tried taking the whole assembly off (there are 2 screws to remove) but couldnt get that out. I called Whirlpool again and asked for a manual to be sent over the internet but I couldnt open that either. The water heater is only 3 years old and already Ill be paying to repair it.

We had the refrigerator delivered in March, 2013. We noticed a leak in February 2014, only because we smelled a musty smell in our garage, and removed the rug outside the door, from the garage to the kitchen. Then we started noticing water in the garage. It was shortly after we determined it was the refrigerator. We bought this at Lowes and they use A&E, and they did not show up for the first appt. They did replace the pan a few days later while we had to replace dry wall behind the fridge. This time around (month later) we noticed the fridge/freezer was not cooling. So A&E came out and determined its the compressor. So now we threw out hundreds of dollars of groceries, and water was leaking all over the floor again from ice thawing. I believe the refrigerator has had problems all along. We have had it for one year. I think we should be reimbursed for the compressor! Thats the least Whirlpool can do after losing so much food and money spent on the wall, and all the water mess etc. I will never buy Whirlpool again, and I will never purchase from Lowes again. We always bought at Lowes, but this was a bad experience, and I get told one thing on the phone with reps and another by A&E.

Little did we know this has been a living nightmare. They have been out to the house 7 times to fix this thing. Its less than 8 months old.... and its still broken. I have been without a fridge going on 2 1/2 weeks. The Senior Customer product review supervisor said he would get me a new fridge that was on the 27th. Every time I call him, his voice mail is full of.... Only to assume that is full of other satisfied customers. I HOPE YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD. We purchased a brand new home with a brand new Whirlpool microwave in it. It was a combo, over the range/hood vent, model WMH1162XVB-0. Every now and again, sparks fly when preparing vegetables. Three times a repairman came to our home with no results. Each time, the problem persisted, with no improvement. On the first visit, the diagnosis was that we did not know how to properly use a microwave. It was noted that they gave us operating instructions and a personal tutorial to solve the problem. On the 2nd visit, we were instructed to buy a protective cover for our bowls when using the microwave. I asked if this would solve the problem, and was told no, but at least we wouldnt see it. This time, the random sparks happened in front of the repair man. He responded that it was the high iron content in the corn and peas that would ignite the sparks. Also, he said we needed to thaw everything before putting it in the microwave. Again, our issue was listed as consumer-use error and nothing was done.On the 3rd visit, we explained that we could not use the microwave on any setting higher than 70 for risking of sparks flying. We showed him the cover we were using, and the permanent marks being left by sparks. Again, the serviceman witnessed the sparks flying, even on thawed peas and corn that simply needed to be heated. He responded that by adjusting the power, and using the cover, we were obviously learning how to work the microwave and informed us that the next service call for this issue would be at our expense. There was nothing they would do for us, as the problem was our fault, not theirs. We explained that other neighbors with the same microwaves are not having this trouble, and we felt it was simply a faulty unit. He didnt seem to agree, nor care what we felt.I have been using microwaves daily for over 20 years. Our neighbors, having the same exact model, have had no issues at all. I know this is simply a faulty unit, and feel endangered each time I use the microwave. Whats even worse is the way Whirlpool has handled our situation. Our microwave is now 4 years old, and I have learned to rely on my toaster oven. When people visit, we have to caution them on the microwave. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliance for my home again. I do not trust the quality of their products or their service.

I bought a pair front loading washer & Dryer May this year and took Delivery in June. First problem was with touch controls. I should have Known then it would be trouble, they replaced it then we went home to Fl. - Aug. Returned in Oct - used the machine eight times total and it locked up with our Clothes inside in water. Called for service, was told it would be a week before someone could come, then was told after four days it was the mother Board and it would take at least another week to get our clothes out. Their Service is the worst I ever have dealt with. The whole house - we Bought Whirlpool based on the Maytags we bought for our House in 2004. Never a problem but those Maytags were Maytag - not whirlpool. I would never buy any Whirlpool Appliances again. It is sad because I try to buy American made to support our fellow Brothers and sisters in the work Force but now I will buy made anywhere as long as it works and has reasonable service. I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I have been trying for a month to get my fridge repaired. 2 techs later and still nothing. The 1st tech never turned in his report and I was informed by your customer service that it was my problem and I had to try to track him down and get it turned in. Tech #2 just left my house. He walked in, stuck his arm inside the freezer and said feels cold to me. I pointed out the melted popsicles and that the ice maker was not making ice because the freezer is not freezing. He then said he doesnt have the tools to do the repair, if it can be fixed, and to call him back after the Holidays. I have been w/o a fridge since Thanksgiving... a month. And no one has a solution. I was sold an inferior product that has a manufacturing flaw but I have to suffer for it. $800 out of my pocket and all I get from Whirlpool is Oh Im sorry to hear that. We can send out another tech. The fridge is less than 6 months old and still under warranty. It is a defective product that Whirlpool refuses to stand behind. I guess they are trying to wait out the warranty period so they are off the hook and we are stuck buying a new one or paying the tech for the repair. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS! The refrigerator is not repairable according to 2 different servicemen. The refrigerator just stopped making ice and not cooling all of a sudden. The problem seems to be inside the panel between the refrigerator and freezer portion. Its a side by side. First time I ever bought Whirlpool Appliances. To make things worse my Whirlpool oven does not work either. Even worse, the Microwave pretty much popped and never worked again. A Whirlpool microwave. The only thing still working is the Whirlpool dishwasher but I wonder for how long. Ive talked to Whirlpool and they said I only had a 1 yr warranty and they could not help. I am writing to their corporate office to complain. I have an old Maytag refrigerator that still works and puts out ice in my garage. I went to look at Maytag appliances and just found out that in 2006 Whirlpool took over Maytag. So I will not ever, ever buy another Whirlpool or Maytag again.

Twelve years ago we bought an LPG Whirlpool range for our new home in Rio Rancho, NM. About 5 years ago, a tenant at our home reported a gas leak and the propane company determined that the Whirlpool range was at fault. The dealer in Albuquerque repaired the leak, by replacing all the valves at a cost of $470. A week ago, after a propane fill, once again, at least one valve was found to be leaking. Apparently, Whirlpool does not know how to make a valve that holds up over time. Over a 7 year period, I paid almost double the cost of the stove, only having to replace it at 12 years. These stoves are DANGEROUS! I will not purchase another Whirlpool product for the rest of my life.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher letting steam out ruining cabinets. Whirlpoo
Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher letting steam out ruining cabinets. Whirlpool admitted this has happened before. ** sent 3 different service repair companies to my house and all 3 told me the parts they recommended from Whirlpool was not going to fix problem. They finally after 3 different repairmen agreed to refund dishwasher. I requested they hire someone to give estimate on my kitchen cabinets. It was their product that done damage and I live in rural area and no one wants the job of restaining. If the cabinet is replaced it is expensive. Granite counters have to be removed and placed back, sink etc. I requested 3000.00 or Whirlpool send someone to give estimate. This has been dragging on for 2 months and still cant use dishwasher. Is that too much to ask for? This has been a nightmare and Whirlpool should be embarrassed. So many emails and messages and most of the time they are unreturned

WHIRLPOOL MICROWAVE HAS HAD MAGNETRON GO BAD 3 TIMES IN 1-1/2 YRS! I bought a Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combo Oct 2009. July 2010 the magnetron went in it! December 2010 the magnetron went in it AGAIN! This time we had to pay the labor to have it repaired because it was 2 months outside the warranty period. We did not want to pay because we knew having the same part go twice in one year that something is wrong with it. Whirlpool told us that if it happened a 3rd time that they would most likely replace the appliance for us. Well....July 2011 the magnetron went AGAIN for the 3rd time! Whirlpool told us to take it to a licensed shop to have it diagnosed to prove that it was the same part as the previous two times, fax paperwork from the prior two times, and have the shop call in the diagnosis of the 3rd time. We did all that, and they told us they wouldnt do ANYTHING for us because it was outside of the warranty period! Well they knew that when they told us we had an opportunity to get it replaced! THE SAME PART WENT BAD 3 TIMES IN A 1-1/2 YR PERIOD OF TIME. We trusted that the Whirlpool representatives were being honest with us during those phone conversations. Whirlpool can not explain why representatives would give us hope of a replacement (although each conversation is documented by their login and employee ID number). So not only did I buy a brand new MSRP $619 microwave, I paid to have it repaired the 2nd time, and to have it diagnosed the 3rd time, uninstalled and reinstalled the microwave each time, the inconvenience of not having use of the appliance during each occurance, and the unbearable suffering of calling in to customer service and repeating the story over and over to each representative. My house is brand new (we moved in to it November 2009); we bought ALL our appliances from Whirlpool. All I get for an answer now is sorry. That doesnt help me any financially having to repair and now replace an appliance that has been in use for only 1-1/2 yrs! I have seen $39 microwaves from WalMart last several years, so what is wrong with Whirlpools manufacturing?! Customer Service is unreliable, untrustworthy, non-sympathetic, and insanely frustrating! My question for Whirlpool is...why cant you make a product that lasts better (better quality=longer life=healthier environment and happier customers)? Why cant you stand behind your products better? Dont you care about the impact youre making on us emotionally, financially, and environmentally? The model # is GMH6185XVS0 Serial # is TRY3111264.

My review is not about Lowes, it is about the Whirlpool Range I purchased. I purchased a Whirlpool Range in 2013. In a matter of a few weeks the drawer at the bottom was giving problems. It was still under warranty and a repairman was sent to repair it at no cost to me. Something was broke about it. The drawer is so flimsy made it is not made to hold much of anything to start with. I have to take all sorts of effort to get it to close correctly. It is just shoddy made. Then a few weeks ago a piece of the side trim on the oven door fell off. My husband got it back on and then it fell off again last night. I am not happy with this stove, it is cheap made for $550.00. It is white with a smooth cooking surface. Drawer is so shallow and wont stay on the tracks, things fall out over the back. I am not satisfied with this stove, but I have got to keep it.

Got the dreaded 4 flashes LED status - High Temperature Shutdown. Online and vendor documentation says that this condition requires gas valve unit replacement, a $115 option. If your Pilot remains burning, but main burner does not kick in, then a good guess is the circuit board requires a reset. Prior to any further work, test the Thermopile, that is the round item with two blades located below and to the right of the gas valve unit. Move knob on control panel to OFF1) Pull out plug with red and white wires located on front of gas control. 2) Have someone Hold in the control knob on the unit at Pilot, and make sure Pilot flame is burning. 3) Using a multi-meter, set it to millivolt reading, and test voltage across the two wires. Voltage should be greater than 350mV, preferably >500mV. 4) If you get a reading in that range, your Thermopile is good. Turn knob to off position. Do NOT uncouple gas lines. 5) Piezo Igniter wire comes apart, disconnect it. 6) Remove screw that holds front cover. (screw located bottom left as you look at the unit) 7)Cover simply pulls off directly towards you. 8)Remove the screw holding the circuit board to the cover, and remove circuit board by unclipping it - 3 clips, one either side and one at bottom. 9) Unplug the 3 strand thermostat cable, you should now have the circuit board clear. 10) Take a piece of aluminum foil, fold it twice, then lay circuit board on it facing up, do it on top of tank, want it grounded. 11)Using one of the multimeter probes, wrap a piece of foil around it, keeping point free, and ground it too. Then slowly work around the board, touching all the solder connections you see, as well as the chip legs. Pay particular attention to the round objects on the board (capacitors), make sure to ground out each of the solder points, visible either side. (takes about 5- 8 minutes, take your time) 12) Once done, reconnect thermostat cable to board, then reinstall board into cover (dont forget the screw)13) Place cover back into place, screw in cover screw, reattach Piezo wire and black electrical plug with thermopile wires. 14) set Knob to Pilot, get pilot lit (may take a few hits on the Piezo button) and while still holding the knob in, watch to see what LED flashes you get (there will be a 10 second time lapse before it will start to flash) 15) You should either get 1 flash or 7 flashes, that means the board is reset, now turn knob to warm, and see if main burner kicks in. Good luck, and for a half hours work you have saved yourself $$$. PS: If it occurs again, you have sediment build up, need to drain the tank.

We purchased a Whirlpool washing machine for $600 from a local retailer and it broke down within three months. It is now been two months and two repairman visits later and still not fixed. I called them and talked to customer service who then transferred me to another department. So far it’s just been the typical runaround with no results. I demanded an immediate replacement but was told that would need approval from yet another department. I don’t remember what departments are involved nor do I care. I am simply disgusted with this baloney.

We bought a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher around 2 years ago. Within 13 months it stopped drying dishes, silverware etc. I called customer service told the person what’s going on. Of course the warranty was up, a month prior. She said she would send a service technician out to see why it wasn’t drying. They charge 75$ a hour plus a service fee for coming out. I told her no. She said she would drop the service fee since it was only 13 months old. I asked how long he would be here, she had no idea. I didn’t make the appointment because I felt I shouldn’t have to pay anything because it was only 13 months old.She didn’t agree. Since then it has gotten worse, it doesn’t dry anything, maybe the dishes. I have to put the silverware rack on a towel by and dry the silverware or put it away wet. I’ve bought jet dry a few different ones and no luck. I would not recommend anything from Whirlpool, especially a dishwasher. We have new wood cabinets. The cabinets will get soaked if I don’t put paper towels under them. This is the worst dishwasher I ever owned. Don’t waste your money!!

Whirlpool fridge (model no ETILFKXKS) - I purchased this fridge from a very good dealer (Trail Appliances, Edmonton). Within a year, I had my first of the frozen water drain from top freezer to water pan. Of course, I blamed myself - too much warm food, blah blah. Now this is happening more and more often. The fridge is kept at number 1 of 5 for coldness. All foods are left on counter to cool, but three times over my Christmas holidays this year when I swore I would throw this fridge in the garbage - the drain froze, water all over the fridge, food having to be removed and placed in other peoples fridges, blah blah. Now it did it again this weekend! There are only two living here. I work all day and no one even opens the fridge much and again this happened. Im really sad that such a faulty product (too much insulation hiding the drain pipe behind the fridge and it must be much too small in diameter; otherwise, it wouldnt freeze up). Talking about work. We have two fridges there with 50 people using them all day and they run perfectly for the last 8 years that I have been there. So I think it indicates that my fridge is faulty. Im so sad too because I dont have the money for a new one. I just turned 65 and am about to retire (single mom). You would think that a $1,300 fridge would last longer than 6 years!

And why is there a lid lockout? Did someone accidentally fall in? If I drop something after Ive pushed start, I have to wait until the machine unlocks the lid. Why? This seems counterproductive. I had purchased a hot water heater on Saturday and installed it myself. I filled the tank and waited about twenty minutes before turning the power on. I waited a couple of hours before testing the water temperature and it was cold. I checked the temperature setting and it was set at one twenty five, I went to Lowes and informed the service person and was told there was nothing they could do about it, I had to call the number on the tank for Whirlpool. I called the number and was told they could come out to check it but we would be responsible for the labor charges. I didnt understand why because it was under warranty and we had also purchased the extended warranty. I informed my wife so she could deal with Whirlpool because I was going to work. My wife called a number of times and was getting transferred from one person to another and getting no help at all. She was told by one person that it was maybe a problem with the wiring in our home or maybe the plumbing. One person told her that it was not their problem. We had to finally pay an electrician to come out to look at it and had to pay him to replace a heating element. The cost of the electrician and the part came to an extra two seventy five dollars. The only real help that we received was from Lowes managers that were willing to take the water heater back if we could get an authorization number to return the water which Whirlpool claimed they did not have any type of a number. Our 400 dollar water heater turned into an almost 700 dollar water heater. We had also purchased a refrigerator from Lowes that was the Whirlpool brand that quit working after about four months and we had to pay to have it fixed. Needless to say, we will never again purchase any Whirlpool products or recommend them to anyone. The service was very very poor and we are not happy with Whirlpool.

Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

I purchased an expensive dishwasher made by Whirlpool and sold at Lowe’s. Immediately upon receiving the dishwasher I noticed a good size scratch. I had it serviced within one month of purchase because dishes were coming out dripping wet. Technician came out and told me I needed to add rinse aid. I had been using rinse aid, which I think is ridiculous to have to buy an additional bottle of something that’s not even cheap just so this thing dries dishes but moving on...Now it’s been 1.7 years and I’m having more problems. Top rack of dishwasher is broken and falls to the side every time you pull it out. The door to dishwasher also no longer has any spring. I take very good care of my things and this just unbelievable. I called Lowe’s they won’t help because it’s been more than a year! I guess Lowe’s can’t stand behind their merchandise for more than a year because they know they’re selling garbage. I called Whirlpool directly and was told they would come out and service my appliance for a minimum charge if $189! I have no words. Purchased a Whirlpool WTW7800XW a year and a half ago. The left top of the washers glass pops up, making it impossible to use the washer unless I weigh it down. Apparently a screw has popped out to hold the glass in place. Whirlpool used to make a decent product, but thought I should pay them $129 for their time, just to come out and then an additional part fee. How about the 30 minutes I spent on the phone with no satisfaction. My time is also valuable. I gave them the choice to come out and replace the screw (which shouldnt have fallen out in the first place) or lose a customer. This machine needs to go back to the engineering dept. There are too many engineering defects to mention. My Cabrio washer and dryer was delivered October 11th of 2017. It is just my husband and myself so laundry was scarce. I have been unhappy with the washer since the beginning and just recently decided to try and solve the problem. I contacted Whirlpool first and was told these machines have great reviews and nothing is wrong with them. When I started describing the flaws, there was one excuse after another and the person from Whirlpool blew me off. The flaws... all begin with not cleaning which is caused by design. The water level, even with the deep water setting, does not even cover the amount of clothes in a small load; the agitator is so small, there is no effect on agitating the clothes; even with using a SMALL amount of HD detergent, there is always soap residue on the clothes because of the lack of water; and last issue but not final is the load going off balance. The machine will walk all over and error codes according to the repairman need to be cleared so must call if it happened again. Well, the very next load it went off balance again. I did not call because I would have the repairman living with us and I am not willing to set up a bedroom for him or feed him. So, Whirlpool does not care if their product needs redesigning, they only care about selling their product and then the consumer is on their own. Basically the same train of thought from Best Buy where we purchased the machines. Best Buy would be happy to sell me another laundry set... per the store manager but that is all he could do. Will I purchase from Best Buy again... I think you know the answer to that. If they cannot stand behind a product they sell, then they can keep everything they sell, no more money coming from my checkbook to them ever again. Someone, whether the manufacturer or the retailer, should be willing to stand behind their product. But, no one cares. Bottomline, do not believe the ratings on the Cabrio washer. This machine has design flaws that cannot be corrected.

There is almost NOTHING I like about my new $1000 Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum
There is almost NOTHING I like about my new $1000 Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine! The clothes dont get clean. Stains become PERMANENT because clothes are spun and matted so tightly together, the 2 inches of water allowed into the tub cant dissolve them. Fabric softener stays a gummy substance because it has to be SUCKED out of the dispenser, not sprinkled out with water. I pin socks together to keep them in pairs, but this machine rips them apart and the safety pin end up in the bottom. My bathroom rugs are shredded. You cant add an extra item if you need to, because the tiny portion of water leaks out. There were DRY spots still on the sheets at the end of a cycle. This machine is an engineering nightmare, sort of like the Edsel. The only action programmed to clean the clothes is a wiggling motion on the floor of the tub. The tub spins so much, energy goes through the roof. Man was given 3 survival elements to assure our existence on earth: water, air, and food. Why are engineers trying to faze out our use of water? This machine has dazzling looks, but NOTHING else. I am so sorry I didnt read all the reviews first. Who would ever think the environmentalists would inflict such pain on our basic domestic obligations! If I dont get my money back or a decent exchange at Sears where we bought it, Im taking the machine to their parking lot and commencing a show with a baseball bat.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, top load washing machine WTW6600SW back in 11/07. Last week (todays date is 8/19/11), the machine sounded like a plane taking off when it spins out. When the local service technician came out this week, he said that the bearings are shot. Since the tub and bearings are all one part, we were told by the technician that the part and labor costs would be $379.99 to repair it. We originally paid $799.00 for the Cabrio, less than four years ago. Whirlpool would not even give us a concession of a new tub and bearing part as it was out of the 1 year warranty.

One month after the delivery/installation of this new refrigerator, it began making loud noises when cooling the top refrigeration unit. After the 4th service call and replacement parts, the noise ceased for 3 months. The noise has returned and Im now scheduling the 5th service call for the same problem. Thank goodness I purchased the extended protection plan through Lowe’s when I bought my three new Whirlpool kitchen appliances. Whirlpool used to be known for quality and dependable appliances. That no longer is true. SAD.

We bought a Whirlpool front load about six years ago. We have had nothing but trouble with since we have owned it. First, the sensors went out on it. We had to pay over $300 to have that fixed. Then, it wouldnt run right. We had to pay another charge for that. Now they tell me the water valve is bad on it. If I had known at the time the problems I was going to experience with this washer, I would never have bought it. I fell for the price. We paid for it. We should be getting better service from it than we are. I could have bought 6 regular washers for what I paid for this one that doesnt perform like it should.

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet front-loading washing machine on September 27, 2010. By October of 2011, it was making a loud grinding noise during any spin cycle. I called for service and was told I needed new bearings which entailed rebuilding the machine. I had purchased a 5-year extended warranty. I was originally told by the warranty company they would replace the machine. After waiting two months, and after several contacts made by me to the retailers customer service, I was told the machine would not be replaced, but repaired. After the repair, on January 6, 2012, the machine now rattles and shakes so much during the final spin cycles. It is literally impossible to have a conversation with someone standing next to you in the same vicinity as the washer, it is that loud. I am sorely disappointed with the Whirlpool line of products and with the retailer who has been dragging their feet on customer satisfaction.

DOES NOT MEET CONSUMER NEEDS AS PROMISED. I wish I read the reviews. Very expensive machine I purchased specifically for the large drum for large loads. The machine cannot handle large loads (if you consider one blanket large load). I have to unplug the machine mid wash, as the load gets stuck on one side and moves my machine across the floor. The noise in the spin cycle with even small amount of laundry sounds like a helicopter is about to land. Then last night I noticed black oil splattered all over my floor. This is a $800.00 machine. Never ever met my exceptions as the machine promised to deliver. Theres very little water that enters the drum... Not even my towels come out clean. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL... EVER EVER EVER.

We purchased the microwave. It looked nice and seemed sturdy. I bought a trim kit to make it look Built in. As soon as I finished installing the microwave and kit we tried to use it. My wife could not get the door to open unless she pushed the door button hard several times. I checked to see if the trim kit was causing the problem and it was not. We kept trying to get the door to open as it should but could not make it work correctly. I even used a little lubricant and it did not help. We then looked up the reviews and saw this was a prevalent problem. We then returned the unit and trim and ordered a Samsung. It will be in on the 25th of March. I placed a review on Lowes site but Whirlpool removed it saying since I took it back they removed the negative review. Since it was defective I wanted the public to see the truth on this unit.

I just bought a house that has one of these ranges, and it was getting the F2 message. I found the problem. There is NO ventilation behind the electronic control so when the oven heats up, the control board gets too hot and throws the F2 code. That would indicate a bad temp sensor or bad board, but really its the heat shield on the back. Ive removed the metal plate from behind the control panel and it works fine now. Im considering drilling some vent holes and adding some insulation behind the control.

I purchased this machine about a year ago and it is the biggest piece of garbage on the planet. The biggest problem is that it will not spin if the load is even slightly unbalanced. It does not clean the clothes. If you try to rebalance and spin the load, it adds more water and then gets stuck in a cycle where it drains and adds water forever. Do not buy one of these. I am finally surrendering and buying a different machine. A total waste of money.

Purchased a gas hot water heater from Lowes in October 2015. Installed the hot water tank and two months later started smelling a faint gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool and they thought it was the gas valve and replaced part, but had to pay $30 for overnight shipping. Had plumber install new part and did not fix the issue. Called plumber back out and he found a small pin hole size leak behind pilot light. Patched the leak and still had a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool back and after some back and forth was able to get hot water tank replaced, since it was only two months old and should not need any maintenance that soon. Replaced water heater with new tank and this tank has a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box as well. We replaced all our lines and even had the fire department check out our gas lines. Could not find anything. I am still baffled as to why this tank has a gas smell coming from the Honeywell box. I cant seem to find anyone else having this issue. Whirlpool or Lowes has not been any help. Ready to unhook it and buy another brand. Anyone have this issue?

If the knob is turned in the wrong direction when intending to turn the burner off, it turns to a very low setting which is although nice for simmering, it is very easy for it to be mistaken as the off position and leaves only the gas leaking if the smell is not noticed in time.

Please read if youre thinking about buying from Whirlpool - the Whirlpool front loading washing machine. Hmm, where do I start? Oh yeah, its a colossal piece of garbage. Four years ago my wife and I went shopping for a washer and dryer. We looked at quite a few and then we came across the Whirlpool front loading washer. Ah, the wave of the future. The end all solution to your washing needs. The best the market has to offer and at over $1,100, they should be. The salesman completely sold us on why we should spend a little extra for such a superior product. I thought, I work hard. I dont make a ton of money, but this sounds like a long term, worthwhile investment. Wrap it up, the washer and dryer combo. Fast forward 4 years later. Whats that awful clunking sound the washer is making? Oh, its the drum. Maybe its off center. I opened it up to find that the spider arm is broken. Isnt it only 4 years old? Surely they (Whirlpool) will fix this at no charge to the consumer because as I was told 4 years ago, this is the best technology. Now mind you, its just my wife and me. She doesnt have to do laundry for 50 people or even 4 for that matter. Calling Whirlpool (ring, ring, ring. Hello, this is Whirlpool), I explained to them what the problem is and that we have only had this magnificent piece of gold for 4 years. What can you do for me? Sorry sir, the machine is only warrantied for a year. Youll have to buy the $350 part to fix it. Reading between the lines, Youre screwed sucker. Thanks for the cash. Really, youre telling me that I spent almost $2,000 of my very hard earned money for a washer and dryer set, and after only 4 years of use you will not fix it? Allow me to paraphrase the reply in laymans terms. Nope, youre ** and thanks for the green. Here are my thoughts on Whirlpool. They are one of the worst companies out there for customer service. The front loading washing machine is a horrible product that should be pulled off the market and never be sold again. My experience with this company will never happen again because I will never ever buy another one of their products. So please, before you think about giving them your business by buying a front loading washing machine, think again. And remember this - I now have a $1,100 paperweight.

I have hated this Cabrio washer and dryer set since the day they were delivered brand new by Best Buy a couple of years ago. The washer does not clean well, often does not spin dry, and leaves some clothes dry after a full wash cycle!!! I have to wash small loads on the deep water cycle to even have a chance at cleaning the clothes. The clothes are so dreadfully compacted and tangled that it takes great effort to birth them out of the washer, unfurl them, shake them, and put them into the next torture machine- the dryer. It is as if Whirlpool intended to build a machine to twist clothing so tight that it requires a bodybuilder to untangle the clothing. Then the items are so incredibly crumpled that ironing has found its way back into my already busy life. Ironing is a massive challenge to the degree of wrinkles in the clothing. The slanted tops are icing on the cake. Cant even pull the clothes out of the dryer to the top of it because they slide right off. Cool.

In 2006, I paid $1,300 for above fridge and bought extended warranty. Within a year, I had four service calls for condensation in bins that causes freezing of lunchmeat, veggies, etc. and anything put in them. The A&E service company said to use plastic bags and then said I should keep the bin drawers open at an inch so air could flow. Next call said vacuuming underneath would solve it. Final call said again to use bags and suggested modifying the fridge by making a hole in the sidewall (which would nullify the warranty).Since I declined modifying the fridge, he contacted Whirlpool saying I declined service. I still have this problem, was going to call for service because I could really use the space the drawer provides but I have a feeling I will just be throwing money away. I was going to contact Whirlpool but Ive done that too. I feel totally ripped off on an item that should have quite a few years of service left.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator to match the other appliances in our kitchen. The unit was purchased in June of 2012. Two and a half years later, it quit making ice and would not maintain proper cooling temps. Not to mention the noise coming from the compressor. So we had a certified tech come out and he said that it was the sealed refrigeration system. He stated that he had seen this issue a lot with whirlpool refrigerators. He said that what they don’t tell you is that it is covered for 3 years but good luck with getting any satisfaction. The cost to fix it you ask? $700.00. Might as well just buy a new one. Took a shot in the dark and called Whirlpool customer service. Gave the girl my information and model number. I got the “Sorry, but your model number is not covered by the sealed refrigeration warranty.” Then I got the ole, “Is there anything else today?” Well, she got the wrong man on the phone this day. I asked her to give me a model number that is covered by the warranty and I will purchase that one. You could have heard a pin drop. I don’t guess she’s been asked that before. She starts to ramble and said, “Well, there are just so many, I could not possibly tell you. Some are and some aren’t.” (Remember that statement) You mean she can tell me that mine was not covered, but could not tell me which models were covered. Huh??? Long story short. I argued with her for an hour on the phone and she finally breaks down and admits that Whirlpool does not warranty the sealed systems on their refrigerators any longer because they are considered value brands. What are value brands you ask? I asked the same thing. I was informed that a value brand is of lower cost to draw people to buy the product. Remember in the movie Back to the Future when Doc Brown said he sold a nuclear weapon to the Libyans at a good price but it was just filled with pinball machine parts? Well, there you go. I get the supervisor on the phone and she has the I’m going to be strict with this customer voice. She basically blames me in the fact that I failed to purchase the extended warranty. You’re right, my fault. How dare I have the nerve to think that a one thousand dollar value Whirlpool refrigerator would last no further than two and a half years? My bad on that one lady. The end result; I was told that I could purchase a new Whirlpool refrigerator and be sure to get the extended warranty. Yeah, why don’t go practice falling down Whirlpool, I’ll be there in a minute. (That was sarcasm by the way).

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

We bought a new Whirlpool counter depth side by side stainless steel refrigerator in January 2012. We have had 7 service calls because things were freezing on the top shelf. They installed a new part and it still froze. They told us to do dumb stuff at Whirlpool like turn the temp up, dont use the top shelf, etc. The money they want for these appliances and you should put a band aid on it to make it function properly? Duh? The final fix was to duct tape the vents to allow less air flow. This appliance should have been recalled. I have since read reviews and it is an ongoing problem. Before buying, do your homework and make sure the other brands are not manufactured by Whirlpool. The Whirlpool hotline for problems is not that service friendly, they have an attitude. I need to replace two more appliances and they will not be Whirlpool. The repair service was great but they are independent companies, not Whirlpool. How do you fix a lemon? Consumers need to be aware of this. Whirlpool would rather spend money on repairs that did not work instead of replacing the appliance. If you want 7 or more repair visits and no results, buy Whirlpool.

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.
