Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I have never had such terrible service nor experienced an appliance that operates so poorly. I am surprised there are not more complaints with this problem. Purchased from ABT because of their reputation for customer service.

My range is 2 years old. I would never recommend this range. The AquaLift clean is worthless. Can not get the grease splatters off. If I could afford a new one I would get rid of this range. The AquaLift clean feature is only good for small messes on the bottom.

Bought these Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum combo about three years ago, nothing but junk from the get go! Washer never gets clothes clean, towels always come out smelling mildew and sour no matter what liquid soap you use Tide, Gain, whatever same results. Plus always mold coming from inside tub and yes we use refresh weekly and wash it out on refresh setting. I’m so tired of our towels smelling sour but can’t afford to buy new washer and dryer living on fixed income. If I could these would be in the recycling yard now. From everything I’m reading all new H e machines are crap and energy efficient my foot. I wish for my old style washer and dryer. WHIRLPOOL YOU HAVE LOST A LONG TIME CUSTOMER!

I bought the front load washer 4 years ago. The tub bearing suddenly broke. We have 2 people in the house so the washer is not used more than 4 times a week. I was told it would cost $700.00 to repair. The washer was bought with a stackable dryer. Now Im told they no longer make a washer to go with the dryer. I called Whirlpool/Maytag and they could care less. The explanation I was given is that it is a man-made appliance. That is the worst customer service I have ever gotten. I would never recommend Maytag/Whirlpool. In fact I will highly discourage against it.

If you want clean clothes dont buy this machine(Cabrio Washer)! First of all I find that my clothes have dry spot on them when I pull them out of the machine. Whirlpools response is that the machine spins at such a high rate that the cloth will actually seem dry. Doesnt make sense to me that a shirt that has another garment on top of it gets dry in an unexposed area. I have also been told to always use the high water setting. This helps but the clothes still are not clean. Also my dark slacks come out with residue lines on them - Whirlpools solution; never wash anything in cold water. In addition the machine is very noisy. It sounds like the water pipes are being kicked out of the wall. And forget about washing a king size comforter as advertised, a twin comforter doesnt get clean or even thoroughly wet and residue lines are left behind. Hate this machine! So glad I didnt buy the extended warranty since my attempts to have them stand behind this product have failed. I feel the money would be better used towards a different brand.

I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

Manufacturer refuses to acknowledge quality issues. This is not exclusive for the washer or dryer, IT IS BOTH! P.S. I owned & operated a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer for 6+ years before up-sizing & loved them! I was grossly misled by the retailer to believe the new Cabrio washer & dryer were the same as the previous model of Cabrio. They are not. Their performance is subpar. Not what I would expect from top of the line. Washer does not spin out as dry as the previous model. It will not show error codes on display so I can deal with the issue at hand-it just shuts down. Dryer sensors do not work properly. It will not dry, or overdries to the point of shrinking clothing beyond use. This $2800 purchase is continuing to cost me money. I have never been more upset with a purchase than this. I have to babysit these machines. There is a bolt in the back wall of the dryer drum. Hence my destroyed brand new hand crocheted afghan. Oh and did I tell you that their licensed repair man told me that I should not be laundering bedding in my machines at home? Apparently there are no home use machines on the market that are able to wash bedding. Sheets. Pillowcases. All of it needs to go to a commercial laundromat. Ha! Makes a person question who we let in our home. If you would like a positive - its huge. But wont spin out a small load effectively.I have recommended and led to sale of dozens of the previous Cabrio model. I will no longer be standing behind this model or company after the poor customer service. Their answers are scripted. Its like speaking to a robot. No one is accountable anymore. I could understand if I did not know how HE machines worked or even the Cabrio model, but I loved my previous HE CABRIO FOR 6+ years!! Excuse me while I go vomit.

They replaced the two and debited a cost of Rs.1500.

Because the Korean appliances are a problem for repairmen, were stuck with a Whirlpool choice. Seems to be a good fridge. Noisier than my Kenmore (Korean). I got instructions from repairman on opening right door first and closing it last. Otherwise rubber wears out too soon. If I put anything on left door opposite ice maker, it freezes, making that shelf useless! We had ordered a Kitchenaid but the installers damaged it.

Since my review I have been corresponding with Whirlpool Customer Service (Chris). First he sent me an email and mailed a replacement board to have us (the homeowner) install. Because the cover was so melted, the replacement board would not fit down into it. I emailed pictures to Chris. Once he saw the pictures, he called me and arranged for the water heater to be replaced since it was still under warranty. He even extended the authorization code so we would have plenty of time to arrange for a plumber to do the work. We had to pay for the plumber, but Whirlpool arranged for us to have a new water heater. Now I can sleep at night without worrying that my house would burn down if the old water heater caught fire. Chris was GREAT to work with. I had a direct number to him and called any time I had a question. I was very impressed with Whirlpools Customer Service.

WTW4950XW2 - I purchased My whirlpool washing machine wtw4950xw2 from best buy in 03/30 2013 and it just stop working after 3 yrs. The manufacture warranty was only good for 1 year. I think companies does that on purpose because they know these new equipments are not going to last. I think before they use to have at least a 3 yr or better warranty on appliances. First it started making this loud sound when on the spin cycle, so I had a repair guy come out. He told me that the bearings needed replaced so (how does bearings goes out in 3 yrs). I asked how much will it be to replace parts/labor. The Parts cost $250 and the labor is $200. I might as well buy a new washing machine. I am so disgusted with this machine. My previous Whirlpool, which was not the new modernized, I had for at least 12 years and also I bought a whirlpool dryer. My Dryer stills works after 15 yrs. Im going to try to hold on to the dryer until the long haul. I wish I just would have gotten my old washing machine fixed. Now Im looking for a new washer and I wont be doing a whirlpool or anything with a push to start - just a plain old agitator, no sensing mechanism, just basic.

Purchased this oven in September 2012. Three months in, we tried to use the self-cleaning feature and blew a thermal link (guessing terminology). Tech came out and got the oven open and that was his determination. Also said he would replace both the front and the rear one because it was pretty common that if one was bad the other would probably follow. Said hed have it within a because he had to order it from the factory. I called a week later because no revisit had been scheduled and found out that the factory also did not have the part and was sending me a new unit. Whirlpool was supposed to call and tell me that and did not. It would be another week. Then a few more days for them to come out and replace it and pick up the original unit. Now I have brand new unit again so we tried the self-cleaner. Same issue. To make a long story short I called again this morning and scheduled yet another service call because the oven is inoperable again after running the self-cleaner. This is the 4th time with the replacement oven. They have replaced the thermal units several times and have replaced the fan.Fortunately, when I complained vehemently about the original unit, Whirlpool gave me a one year extended warranty on the replacement so I am still under warranty, which, if youre dumb enough to buy a Whirlpool after reading this, I would advise paying for. If you already have one and are having similar issues, call Whirlpool and insist they give you one for free because they sell junk. This time I told the nice customer service lady that, since the holidays are over and I can get by without the oven, I am going to run the self-clean right after the tech leaves. When it blows and gets repaired again I am going to repeat the process until they refund my money or send me something that works. Whirlpool apparently doesnt care because in their agreement with their service companies they only have to pay for the first visit. After that they just supply parts. I will keep doing this until I run out of service companies in Denver. Then I am going to pay for another extended warranty when this one ends in September 2014 and continue the process.Wake up Whirlpool!! If these units fail consistently at high altitudes (which every tech that has come out here has mentioned as an issue) then fix the problem or quit selling it in these areas.

After owning the Cabrio washing machine (WTW5700XW, purchase price $629) for approximately 18 months, it began stalling at the spin cycle, leaving the clothes sopping wet. We found we had to unplug the machine to reboot the computer, and then we were able to manually choose the drain and spin cycle to complete the cycle. Before beginning a new wash cycle, we have to unplug to reboot again, or it sticks in a perpetual pump cycle.I scheduled a repair appointment from the Whirlpool automated service system. The repair man determined the computer control panel has to be replaced. Diagnostic service call was $136, repair est, $321.67, repair service call, $60-130. Total repair cost on an 18-month old machine was $520+. I declined the repair in hope of getting extended warranty coverage from Whirlpool. Nobody has responded to my email complaint from one week ago, not even a computer acknowledgment of receipt of my email.

I purchased this washer and at the same time had gotten a puppy, I only mention the puppy because she is the one who kept getting blamed for what was happening to my clothes. I NEVER thought that it was my washing machine that was ruining my clothing, until I finally opened the door one day and my shirt was hanging from the top of the washer opening, and suddenly it all made sense! I kept thinking that the puppy was chewing my clothes but it is actually the washer that is sucking my clothing into the opening of the washer and when it gets stuck and the rest of the garment keeps spinning, it creates a burn in the clothing. I found out the hard way that Whirlpool will just blame the consumer for not knowing how to properly follow washing instructions, or their instructions, and will not take any sort of responsibility for it being the washer itself! I wrote to them after my father passed away and I washed his sweater in the washer and it got caught in the washer and ruined it. They blamed me for it and basically said I did not follow the proper washing instructions. I have been washing clothes for over 20 years and I know how to do laundry. I have read every inch of the owners manual and NOTHING tells you that during the wash cycle, your clothes may become sucked into the opening and ruined! So I went online to see if this was happening to anyone else and I was amazed at how many people this is actually happening to! There should have been a recall on these washers and I am amazed there has not been some sort of class action lawsuit.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $100 to have someone look at it, and was going to cost almost $400 to repair, and whats next? I got the Cabrio Washer and Dryer set in December of 2015. By March of 2016, the heating element and dryer door latch had broken. Had to have those repaired. By June of 2016 and since, Ive had several repairman out to the house trying to figure out whats wrong with my washer. 9 times out of 10, it will not spin the excess water out and the clothes are soaked. Sometimes it takes me an hour to get the washer to go through a spin cycle. Sometimes the washer wont go into a cycle at all, it just makes a horrible noise (like its draining) and never does anything. It doesnt put out enough water in larger loads, so Ive had to cut my load size in half. It wont work on half the cycle options on the screen, only working on bulky or heavy. Wont wash on normal or quick wash or any of the others. It will make that same horrible sound and do nothing. Nobody can tell me whats wrong with the stupid washer and the repairman said he sees issues with Whirlpool all the time. He said save myself money and buy something else. But I remember a time when a washer and dryer would last for 20 years. What happened to quality products and craftsmanship. I am so tired of the new and fancy appliances that dont last and these companies that dont stand behind their products. Whirlpool you should be ashamed. I will never buy another one of your products. There should be a recall on these particular Cabrio units especially after all the horrible reviews I just read.

I bought my Whirlpool over the range microwave WMH32L19AS November 28, 2015. We started having problems with it, working intermittently one year later. I called Whirlpool in January 2017 and they told me it was out of warranty and it would cost $150.00 for a repair person to just look at it. I decided to just keep using the microwave because I only paid $232.00 for it and I figured after parts and labor if would probably cost over $200.00 to fix it. I called Whirlpool back in June because the microwave wouldnt shut off and even kept running when you opened the door. Whirlpool sent out a repair person at no cost to fix it. But the repair person told me Whirlpool only paid for him to diagnose the problem. I had to pay for the repair. After working on the microwave and replacing sensors and fuses he determined the microwave irreparable. I called Whirlpool back and they just told me that my microwave is 1 1/2 years old and they were not responsible after 1 year and I should have bought the extended warranty. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again.

Overall, I am happy with my Cabrio BUT we purchased a Whirlpool WTW7000DW0 Cabrio top loading washer w/ electronic touch panel in May 2016. We experienced water hammer from day one. I finally had enough yesterday and knowing that the plumbing could be suffering (15 year old condo), purchased 2 Sioux Chief MiniRester, Model 660-H arresters (Lowes at $9.99 each) and had a plumber install them today. I could have but am nursing a fractured rib. Long story short, they work perfectly. There is NO indication elsewhere in the unit that water is even entering the tub unless youre standing right beside it.Ive been told that hammer problems exist in ALL high efficiency washers, all are prone to this problem. I was also told by a Whirlpool support person that the Cabrio is a Samsung design and the pulsing of supply water off and on, over and over is normal operation. If I had been informed when purchasing that hammer is a common problem, I would have installed arresters from the get-go. At the very least, manufacturers should include arresters as a part of the sale; installers should make sure that every new installation includes arresters. All told, I am out just under $200.00 for new technology that really could have been engineered out in the beginning.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half ago. It started making loud noises over time and finally stopped. Whirlpool did advise us that it was out of warranty but suggested they send a factory repairperson out. They told us depending on the problem they might pay the bill. It turned out that a nut holding the pulley had not been tightened up properly at the factory and had no restraining device, so it simply rattled off over time. Since we dont use the machine that much, the problem went past the 1-year warranty. It cost us two hundred and fourteen dollars for repairs. I could have put the nut back on myself for free. The service guy also said they had multiple similar problems and I should contact Whirlpool and they would probably work with me. No chance. They only kept repeating that it was out of warranty. I even talked with a supervisor who said the same thing. I asked to appeal further and she refused to give me anyone else I could contact. I asked for their legal department information, and she said she did not have that and I would have to get that through my attorney. What a joke. No more Whirlpool for me.

It has been a rude awakening, that Whirlpool is a substandard company. I have gone through 3 refrigerators under the label Kenmore, Whirlpool & 2 1/2 days ago Maytag. I purchased a Maytag 9 years ago and it is still working fine, and even cools a bit too much. Now mentioned labels are under Whirlpool; Since Whirlpool bought out Maytag in 2006, Whirlpool turned Maytag into a sub standard product company. They are spuming refrigerators with defective thermostats. Just think of it, I am one customer that have had the same issue with 3 REFRIGERATORS UNDER 3 LABELS MANUFACTURED THE WHIRLPOOL. I just called Maytag, and when I tried to make sense of the name of either Daren, Karen or Taren, ** hung up on me. I then called Home Depot online major appliances & ended transferring me to WHIRLPOOL!My Maytag refrigerator was delivered 07/25/17, after less than 24 hours, I had to move the settings to 4 from 3 for the refrigerator. She said that if the refrigerator cools enough at 4 then there is nothing wrong! Nothing wrong! To be substandard, in my book its plenty wrong. They have no business sense nor customer service sense. I will buy another refrigerator or appliance from any Whirlpool labels when hell freezes over! For them to accept substandard parts, probably foreign, it is not acceptable in CA nor the USA. Since; since this is a foreign owned company, I pray they will be a company not doing much business in the USA unless the measure up to our standards. Since; going forward we will make American and Buy American!

The retailer no longer sells them as they have seen nothing but complaints with them yet Whirlpool did nothing to help me as a client. It does not wash the clothes, there is such a foul smell even when cleaning it once a month as requested and the clothes comes out soaking and not rinsed properly. In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.

Compared to others it gets the dishes clean and is easy enough to operate. Like everything else it has more bells and whistles than I want or use. Fill it up, put soap in and punch the desired settings and it does what it is programmed to do. Overall size seems to be like all the other models Ive used. Stainless with buttons on top of door. The top basket/drawer has latches that get tripped allowing the basket to drop down and confusing my wife. Not the best arrangement IMHO. Seems like the spacing of the supports in the bottom basket are off, but that may be due to our plates and bowls shapes.

I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer and it has been nothing but a headache. The machine constantly rips our clothes and stretches them beyond repair. Now, the washer keeps showing an F1 error code and I have to restart the machine three times to get it to start. It also stops in the middle of the cycle and I have to restart it. What a piece of garbage! I called Whirlpool several times and they do not stand behind their products. Do not buy Whirlpool. I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and I suggest anyone else having the same problems should do so. Maybe we can get this machine recalled.

I bought a whirlpool 40g gas heater with the Honeywell gas valve. In 5 years Ive had to replace the valve two times. Thankfully the valve was under warranty both times. Our old water heater was Twentynine years old before it started to leak, this new electrical diagnostic high tech gas valve keeps breaking showing a overheated error and the only way to fix it is a new valve that only Honeywell sells thats well over 100$. Talk about a scam!!

I have NEVER had problems with any microwave other than this one. I had a problem with the Whirlpool refrigerator too, which was fortunately still under warranty. I bought the fridge, oven and microwave as a deal. Trust me, there is no deal here. I will never buy this brand again. Lesson learned. Given other reviews, I might just buy another brand of microwave. Worth not having the hassle.

I spoke with an appliance guy and he says that it is going to cost up to $450 to repair it. The wash cycle does nothing, it just sits there and then it goes to the next cycle. I have grown up in a household that had washing machines that lasted many years. This is a joke. Why am I having to buy a new washer in 3 years? I dont understand. Whirlpool knows that this is a problem and they should step up and do a recall or some kind of discount towards a new machine. This is ridiculous.

The control panel was replace. It happened again on 1/25/19. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD!! Thankfully we were home both times. The only way we got it to turn off was to flip the circuit breaker. If this would have happened when we werent home and a fire started and it killed our dogs I have no idea what I would do. Im not even attempting to have the control panel replaced again. Well be buying another brand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. The company must have known about the issue because when we called the first time it happened, which was several years PAST the warranty period, they didnt hesitate to do the repair free of charge.

I put my grandsons bib in the wash and it came out completely dry with the stuck on food still there. My husbands shirts still smell like the cologne he put on! I asked a Home Depot sales person about this and he says, yeah, we hear that a lot. !!!!!!! Im going back to a washer with an agitator so that I know my clothes are being cleaned. This whole water control business is insane. Whats the point if you have to wash the clothes several times to feel like they are marginally clean? The problem is that the industry has decreased the amount of models that still have an agitator so my selection is very slim. First and LAST time I ever buy Whirlpool.

Then, it wouldnt run right. We had to pay another charge for that. Now they tell me the water valve is bad on it. If I had known at the time the problems I was going to experience with this washer, I would never have bought it. I fell for the price. We paid for it. Now a year after the same problem occur. Whirlpool convinced me to buy and extended warranty for $268.00 and scheduled service with Platinum Factory. Took a day off work, then they call me to cancel the appointment. I will advised people not to buy Whirlpool appliances because that is not the appliance I have with them. All whirlpool appliances have a defect. My refrigerator, my washer and dryer, my microwave all have issues. Most of the whirlpool at all. Services agents are rude and not professional. All I ever wanted was a nice refrigerator with the ability to get crushed ice from the door. We bought our refrigerator from Lowes several years ago and have had problems with the ice dispenser ever since. Lowes sent repairmen many times and even replaced the one we purchased with a newer model. Whirlpool refused to replace. The problem persisted and we had to continue calling repairmen. The last straw was when the repairman asked to borrow my hair dryer to help him melt the ice that continuously builds up in the door chute. I stopped going through Lowes and went directly to whirlpool for repairs. Since then I have been told that I should remove the ice box and clean out weekly, be nicer in order to get better help and that my husband should do the talking so that Whirlpool will be more helpful. I am so disappointed. Its been a couple of years since I last called for repairs even though we had the extended warranty. I have to clean the chute daily in order to get crushed ice from the door. Whirlpool knows that their engineers developed an ice dispenser with problems but will not admit it. Their customer service is the worst ever. I will never buy a whirlpool refrigerator again.

I purchased my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator approximately 6 months ago. Immediately upon delivery the compressor showed itself to be very noisy, especially upon start up. I questioned the delivery persons and was told it would become quieter with time. It did I not. In fact, in the following days it got worse. I contacted Whirlpool and was sent an “approved” repairman. The confusions and scheduling difficulties in this process, however, were many. Finally, when the man did arrive. He listened and said the refrigerator was working but agreed it was loud but apologized there was nothing he could do.I called Whirlpool again several times to note the noise and constantly was given the sympathy of people saying they “understood but there was nothing they could do.” Finally, out of desperation I contacted the store where I had purchased the refrigerator and they sent a manager who agreed the unit was unreasonably loud and took the refrigerator back. I researched the Whirlpool company and found they are essentially the same company that makes several other common American name brands, so I made a point not to purchase from any of these companies. Instead, I purchased from a foreign manufacturer and couldn’t be happier. All I can say is I tried to buy American but have been greatly disappointed by both the product and lack of customer service by Whirlpool. I will not buy from them or their other companies again.

I have to pay another $300 to fix the problem and even doing that, theres no guarantee that it wont fail again. They suck more money out of the consumer game, and try to baffle them with **, legal jargon. FYI for all. Dont buy Whirlpool from any store selling Whirlpool products, any Whirlpool products. Once the middle men get the picture, they will stop ordering or buying from Whirlpool.Whirlpool are a bunch of con artists selling crappy products with false integrity. My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool calypso washer and dryers and have been regretting ever purchasing a Whirlpool product. Not more than a year and a half after spending thousands of dollars on their products the troubles started. I called the company and they sent someone out to look at it for repair. He vacuumed out the lines and kept restarting it over and over and eventually it started working again and they charged a hundred dollars and something and said there most likely be more problems since they have many calls on this issue. Sure enough it started again and just kept retrying it over and over to get it to work again as well as vacuumed the lines again like he did. Now its at the point it will not work no matter what. It just keeps flashing LD and shuts down. So I did a online search for other consumers having the same problem and was shocked by the amount of the same problem with others (search this model flashing LD and you will see for yourself). When I contacted Whirlpool they played dumb and lied right thru their teeth saying they have no issues with this model and refused to do anything. I have since learned there has been court cases where the courts ruled against them saying that it was defective and had to notify consumers which they never did. Even when the repairman came out nothing was said. I have since learned that all they did was changed the name to a different model which is having the same problem (no kidding!!) and continued to rip the public off in the name of CORPORATE Greed!!!!! I advise everybody never to purchase a Whirlpool product ever again and maybe we can bankrupt them and put them out of business where they belong. All the customer service agents deserve to be unemployed and suffering after long waits on the phone and then lying straight face to the consumers. Pure evil!!!! We all have to stick together and bring these criminals down. How can they say we have no issues when a simple search of Whirlpool Calypso problems with draining and flashing LD and shutting down. There are thousands of people complaining and no action is done. Shame on these people and their souls are lost forever. Never buy a Whirlpool product and tell everybody you know to stay away! They should have their ** and/or ** cut off and have to suffer the same way the struggling consumers are after scrounging up thousands of dollars for a 200-pound metal paper weight that aint worth a damn!!!!

Our Whirlpool refrigerator, model MODGI5FSAXVYO, began leaking water from the freezer onto the floor about 3 months ago. We purchased the unit in January 2011. We had to keep a towel on the floor to absorb the moisture. Our troubles began after the freezer door was left ajar and the interior became quite frosty. We had turned off the freezer several times to defrost but nothing helped until this morning when I read the comments of Marea of McClellanville, SC and Ruth of Vavenby, BC.I then decided to begin exploring taking apart everything until I reached the freezer unit in the back of the freezer. I discovered a lot of ice with the ice blocking the drain hole which is supposed to drain condensation from the freezer fins to a drain pan in back of the freezer. Apparently, leaving the freezer door ajar caused the drain hole and surrounding area to ice up. Condensation from the fins would keep dripping until it overflowed onto the bottom of the freezer until it filled up with ice. The water then had nowhere to go but out of the freezer onto the floor. The simple solution to this problem is to turn off the fridge, empty out the freezer and allow the frozen drain hole to thaw out. You can easily remove the back panel of the refrigerator to see if water is then draining into the drain pain. Good Luck! Ed

My husband and I have been loyal Whirlpool consumers for over thirty years.
My husband and I have been loyal Whirlpool consumers for over thirty years. When it came time to purchase a new refrigerator, we purchased the GC3SHAXVY00 model. It was quite expensive but we decided to splurge. This was the worst mistake. Let me also state that we have had the refrigerator now for maybe 5 years. Within the first 6 months, the door that is the central operating system for the appliance went out. The appliance was still under warranty at that time, so Whirlpool ordered a new door. The technician replaced the door and left. However, within 15 minutes of the new door being replaced, the entire refrigerator began to shut down, not just the freezer. Fortunately, we had the techs cell and we called him and he came back and put the old door on until he could order another new door. That made three doors in the first 6 months of us owning the appliance. Then, the ice maker started freezing up. We were told just to defrost the ice maker once a month, that this was a problem the company was experiencing with this 500-dollar refrigerator. Then, the water line started freezing so we would have to leave the freezer door open for about half an hour every week to get the line to thaw so that we could get the water to come out of the dispenser. Now, the ice maker has quit completely. Are we going to call a whirlpool tech? NO, what for? This refrigerator has been a true lemon from day one. I have three more Whirlpool appliances that have broken down within 6 weeks of purchasing them. It was time to replace our appliances so we thought we would support our local economy by purchasing Whirlpool. To say the least, that will never happen again. I will be replacing all my appliances with LG from this day forward.

My microwave is a Whirlpool WMC10511AW purchased in Jan 2014 for $150. It is very light weight and moves around when opening and closing the door. I have to use something behind it on the counter top to keep from moving backward and causing problems getting things in and out. In the first year we had problems with the door latch, but after a while it stopped being a problem. I am used to the stability of Amana Radarange so these very lightweight microwaves seem really cheap to me. It works fine at this point but it seems that these really inexpensive countertop microwaves have to be replaced about every 2-3 years where an Amana which costs a lot more lasts for around 20 years and are very stable not moving around all the time.

Every appliance Ive ever owned has been a Whirlpool product. I am on my second set of Cabrio washers and dryers. I havent had any issues with the dryers, but the washers are a different story. My first washer, bought in 2008, started throwing water and oil underneath while spinning. A service technician came out... I had to have the entire tub replaced seeing as how the bearings that went bad were in the motor/spinning assembly that was built into the tub. I moved in 2011 and needed another washer and dryer. I was told the problem had been addressed. Now Im having the same problem... the washer is so loud when spinning, you can hear it on the opposite end of the house with doors closed! So the bearing problem has NOT BEEN ADDRESSED!!! Whirlpool will not stand by this product!! Loyalty is not a factor in their assistance... Only profit!!!

When you shell out the money for a new water heater you expect it to work the first time. Mine did not. Luke warm water was all that we could achieve. After going through the troubleshooting steps we could not clearly define the problem. So they ordered me the parts and sent them to me. The parts were for the old model control unit and does not mate up with the wiring that is in the unit. The representative was put back in that they had no idea how that happened. And, no wrench came with the thermostat just another thing to spend money on. I told them I have had it. Then they say that this is a manufacturers defect and they can provide me with a list of repair technicians in the area. I gave them one star because I could not give them zero. They should have lead off with the service technician. Still not repaired. I will keep you updated.

BEWARE THE TEMP CAN BE 25 degrees off high and 25 deg lower and Whirlpool says that is within specifications. My oven temp was set at 350 and nothing was cooked... After 7 repair calls with their certified repair companies (the 2 worst repair companies that I have ever used) I was told that if you set your oven at 350 that if it stays in between 325 and 375 that Whirlpool claims that it is working fine and will not do anything. I called and talked to customer service and asked the lady that if you set your oven at 350 should it stay within a few degrees of that and she said YES.The people that work at Whirlpool do not even know what kind of junk that their company is selling. I asked to return it and get a more expensive model hoping that it would work better but they said that they sell ovens and do not buy them. Be sure to get in writing from your sales person that your oven will constantly hold the temp within a few degrees. I tried to do the Whirlpool survey but after 11 attempts they said that there was errors in receiving and they did not get it. If you buy Whirlpool then you did not ask the right questions. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool again (unfortunately I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator that are not much better) and if you do you will say the same things and be out Thousands like I am.

Once a month, I do use a cleaning tablet, and between loads, I wipe the washer out too! This is the biggest piece of junk! Save your money. Buy an old school washing machine.

I have had this product now for 1.5 years and am very dissatisfied with it. Whirlpool calls their oven an Aqua Lift Self Clean, which is terribly misleading. There is nothing self-cleaning about it, except that the person who needs to clean it is me (myself)! I cannot use oven cleaners on it, because that will void my warranty, so the only way to clean it is to scrub, scrub, scrub, down on my hands and knees, which I havent had to do for many a year. My second issue is with the glass stovetop. I have had many glass tops before and have never, never had such trouble cleaning it. Every time I use the stovetop I need to scrub and polish vehemently to clean it. And thirdly, the dials fail very quickly, and to replace them costs me $50.00 a pop! In just 1.5 years two dials have failed. This is just unacceptable, and I say shame on Whirlpool, and shame on the company that sold it to me. I will never, ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed. They wanted to order 2 more parts at our expense, but we cant continue trying to fix this lemon. I will be shopping for another oven, and will never recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

The Whirlpool washer and dryer I bought new four years ago has been nothing but a giant on-going headache. No end to the error codes for washing machine. The dryer knobs broke off after two years. The washing machine works only when it feels like it, and important pieces that get a lot of wear are made of plastic. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Ever. Good luck to anyone that is brave enough to buy Whirlpool appliances. I have to say it again: Whirlpool is garbage, junk and unreliable.

I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that will be two years old in September 2013. It has been making terrible, loud noises during the spin cycle for a few months now. Repair tech told me it was the bearings and very costly. It will cost me over half of the original cost to repair a less than two year old washer. This is my second Duet front loader from Whirlpool. The first one was a drum issue and the rod ended up snapping. Again, very costly so I bought a new one. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I do not agree with extended warranties and it is just an additional money maker for the manufacturer. They should be making the product so people do not have to purchase those. Anyway, back to the washer at hand. I refuse to spend that much on a newer washer and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will let this thing bang for as long as it is going to last. Unfortunately have also just purchased the dryer that matches this washer since I still had the old model Duet Dryer, so kind of stuck with them. Spent an hour and a half yesterday on the phone talking to people at Whirlpool and they really dont care if you have an issue or not no matter how old your machine is. They just want you to have purchased the extended warranty or forget it. There should be a recall and they should be helping these customers who all seem to be having the same issue. Done with them!!

I purchased this Deep Cabrio Washer and Dryer a year ago. We moved into our new house and put in the new washer and dryer. During the first load in the washer, the spin cycle blew the ring right off of the hose and flooded our new laundry room and bedroom in the basement. My husband had to put a clamp on it to secure it. The washer does not wash the clothes, in fact you have to always wash it under Deep Water and wash it twice using twice as much detergent as you normally would. This washer is horrendous. My best friend bought the same one at the same time and she hates it just as much as I do as it does not clean clothes. Whoever designed this washer should be fired from Whirlpool. Im hoping through Nebraska Furniture Mart and Whirlpool I can find a solution.

Bought water heater from Lowes in 2016. 4 days ago I came home to find water all over garage and a burnt smell coming from the water heater. Whirlpools warranty department is absolutely horrible. I spent 3 days sending pictures of the water heater, circuit breakers and water on garage floor with cc sent to my husbands email account and mine. Each day I would telephone the warranty department and told that they never received pictures and they couldnt do anything until they received the pictures. I asked for a supervisor who wouldnt even come to the phone. Both my husband and myself received the pics and email just fine. A representative said they have firewalls and things attached so that they cant receive attachments and downloads. So I sent directly from my phone and they still claimed they never received. They refused to give me contact phone numbers for supervisors. Out of frustration I called the Lowes store where I purchased and a store representative spent 4 hours making phone calls trying to help. She was completely frustrated as well. I was told even though there is a 6 year warranty, I am to pay parts and labor and that the repair company for my area that Whirlpool utilizes doesnt even deal with Whirlpool parts so that whatever is needed would have to be ordered! Im on day 4 of no hot water, this is absolutely ridiculous. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product! This product was installed by Lowes and inspected by the state, not a DIY!

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater and after working fine for about 2 1/2 years, I began having problems with it staying lit. I dealt with troubleshooting beginning in January of 2012 and finally in March of 2012, I was sent some replacement parts. The unit worked fine through the summer and once the weather started getting cold in October of 2012, I began to have problems with the unit again. After a couple of months complaining and threatening to file a BBB complaint, I was sent all of the parts left to change on the water heater. And I was told after the parts were changed if the unit still did not work, that it was probably a venting issue and that I would be responsible for that issue and the unit was not defective. I received the parts on 12/04/12 and they were changed out the same day. Now the unit will light when I hold down the button to light it but once I let go, the pilot light goes out. At least before changing out the parts, the unit was able to be turned on and sometimes it would work and other times it didnt, but now it will not light at all. This is very frustrating because the unit is under warranty and Whirlpool has for an entire year fought me tooth and nail just to send me the parts for the unit, only for the unit to still not work. I have a family and it is discouraging to not know when you are going to have hot water, having to constantly fix the unit or to call Whirlpool to troubleshoot and finally for the unit to still not work after replacing the parts. It looks like I will not have any hot water at all now.

How would you like to be without a refrigerator for 10+ days? How do you justify 10 days without a service tech being available for what I call an emergency! Either you need to hire more technicians or make BETTER products. My suggestion is have a supervisor go out to a call first and access the problem. My case, a tech shows up after waiting 10 days, to tell me my refrigerator needs all the parts. Which means Ill have to wait probably another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive. Im sure the parts werent ordered to be expedited. Im beyond furious. We lost everything in our freezer. Doesnt stay frozen in coolers. When we purchased the refrigerator, just under two years ago, the service tech was out three separate times because our ice maker kept going on the blink. Finally, I purchased ice maker, because your refrigerator only makes ice when it wants. Not reliable! Second problem, the lights in refrigerator & freezer went out. Real smart to install LED lights that can only be replaced by a technician. Insane for the consumer. (Cost of lights replaced w/o warranty contract is $100). DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ENJOY MISERY!!Why would you put glossy black finish on front of refrigerator, and the sides have black texture, where you cant see fingerprints. Has to be cleaned daily! Hope you can rectify the problem before two more weeks pass. Model: WRS322FDAB. SERIAL#: HR72710418. Not a fan of your lemon of refrigerator. Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop - I have a large black mark on one of the cooktop burners that appears to be beneath the surface of the cooktop. It’s almost within the finish of the burner and unable to be cleaned with cooktop cleaner. I have purchased an extended warranty and arranged for a service call. The repairman came out as scheduled, but informed me after making a phone call to who knows, because he did not tell us that the problem was cosmetic and could not be repaired under warranty. However, if we wanted a replacement cooktop, it would cost almost as much as a new stove. He also said that he had seen many of these ceramic burners with that problem and it was not unusual. All I really want is what is fair, a defect that is not my fault that needs to be replaced. The stove (Whirlpool electric range with ceramic cooktop) was purchased in 2004 and is kept very, very clean.

We purchased an Estate Washer for my 89-year-old mother in 2008. The paint has been peeling down to bare metal on the left top quarter from the corner down to the lid hinge for the past 2 years. I contacted customer service and was given probable causes, one of which was the washer might have gotten dusty! He said that could cause chipping. I reminded him the problem is peeling chunks, no chips, layers of paint. The warranty expired of course. The solution he offered was for me to buy paint from Whirlpool or Lowe’s, and paint it. I have had a Kenmore washer for 24 years. The paint is perfect, and it still runs great. I would never buy another Whirlpool product. The quality is atrocious.

My Duet washer is just 3 years old and has had light use as there are only two people in the household. After just 3 short years the machine stopped working. We were told it needed a controller board and new valves. The cost of the repair was quoted at $733.00. This is far more than we paid for the machine. So we called customer service and at first they thought they could sell us a plan for $350.00 that would cover the repair but it was denied by the supervisor. So zero help, absolutely nothing. Now the backdrop here is that our last Whirlpool (same type) is still in use with our son no repairs in 15 years. Does anyone reading this think we should buy another Whirlpool or recommend it to our Friends and family? I think a Maytag is in our future. We purchased KitchenAid Model YKESS907SS05 Electric Range from Appliance Canada April 2012, just before we took possession of our new home. We began using the range in July of that year and it worked well until September 11, 2014. At that time we decided to use one of the features of the range which is the self-clean feature. During which the control panel failed and our oven ceased to work.We contacted Appliance Canada and they suggested a technician come to assess. We called the suggested number and they send a technician that was not Whirlpool certified and we had to pay out of pocket for the visit $158. He did absolutely nothing during the visit. We then called Whirlpool Canada and they informed us that he was not Whirlpool certified and to call Appliance Canada, we immediately called Appliance Canada and made arrangements to have certified technician come to assess. Whirlpool Canada also indicated at that time that the board that failed was still under warranty and we should not have to pay. September 22nd the second technician came to assess the situation, used tape to cover the front blowing air duct so as not to have the hot air blow back onto the control panel. This was a temporary fix, they ordered a control panel in the interim that they would then use to replace. The control panel came in October the 22nd, was replaced and the new board was faulty, put old one back in and re-ordered another board. The part was on back-order. By mid November, after numerous calls, we called Whirlpool directly. They authorized that the technician to get the part from another supply source. On November the 26th, technician came back - tried new board could not get it to work, left it with us and ordered additional parts. At that time the technician who was taking the case had a family emergency and would not be able to come back out until the new year. Subsequently, Appliance Canada authorized a new company to resume our work with a new technician (Toronto Appliance). He came out December the 17th, with the board that was left behind, he was able to get the oven working. December the 22nd while in the middle of cooking a meal, the oven failed again. We called Appliance Canada and they had a Technician scheduled to come December the 24th from Toronto Appliance. However, on December the 23rd the oven resumed working. The Technician came on the 24th but because the oven was working again could do nothing. On December the 31st, while dinner was in for guests, the oven failed yet again. We called Appliance Canada, yet again, and they scheduled another visit with a new control panel and additional board. The technician arrived again today, January the 28th, and could not get the stove working. He was instructed to order an additional part and we are to wait another 2 weeks. In total, we have been waiting for 4 and a half months, we have also been told that we were not to have used the self-clean as this causes these types of problems. Why is it offered, in addition, Whirlpool has not supported our direct calls, nor authorized the replacement of a product, that for all intents and purposes, is faulty. We have had no success in the resolution of this issue nor support to reach a resolution from all parties involved. I would suggest not buying any product from those involved as their lack of support for their product is appalling.
