LG Dishwasher Model LDFN3432T Error Codes

CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.

CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.

CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.

CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.

CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.

CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).

CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.

CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.

We had an LG refrigerator and over-stove microwave. Little things broke, bits of plastic, brackets etc., large annoyance factor. Also freezer at highest setting but does not get lower than 20 degrees (should be zero). Panel above door of microwave broke loose, could not be reset, had to hold it in place with tape. The brackets that hold up drawers for fruit & vegetables broke, we got a replacement, it broke again. This was all in the first year. The things just feel cheap and unreliable. We junked the microwave a year ago. Today, last straw for the fridge. The auto ice maker, over several weeks, was working, then stopped, then started again, then stopped, then started once more -- then went crazy! It would not stop pouring water into the ice tray. Had to cut off water supply. If we hadnt been home at the time and noticed, it would have flooded our kitchen. I have had it. Good Riddance LG!

Contacted LG service, tech came out found nothing. Took pictures of the finished wash with soap stains sent them to LG, another tech arrived and tried to solve the problem. No luck. Called again. Still no satisfaction. Finally after fourth tech I had a tech make a suggestion that seems to work. LG engineers in their infinite wisdom of trying to make a washing machine that is water efficient failed. The machine senses how much water based upon the weight of the items in the tub which basically doesnt wash squat. So by having the machine first wet the clothes and restarting the cycle the load is now heavier and the machine increases the amount of water in the tub to accommodate the heavier load. Now you have enough water to actually wash clothes! Seems a stupid way to get a machine to work, but it appears to solve the problem. Basically LG engineers need to learn how to actually test their product before sucking the consumer into buying junk!

My refrigerator (LG GC-P197DPSL) is bubbling under the silver where the water drips down from the water and ice maker. I read all over the internet it is a common problem but LG has denied the case. I have an extended warranty but they wont honor it saying it is LGs problem.

UPDATED 10/10/2020: DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!! So... Not only am I still to hear back from LG here (since that was their response on this website) but ever since the compressor was replaced, the in-door icemaker only works when I reset it, and the extra ice maker in the freezer doesnt work at all anymore. Once again, it will take about 10 days to get somebody here to check it out, at which time I have no doubt it will then take another 2 weeks to get it fixed. Also, the finish on our 3 y/o LG washer is now peeling away below the detergent drawer. Totally disgusted by the product quality and customer service of this company.UPDATED 9/28/2020: STARDATE: 09282020 CAPTAINS LOG: 3RD ENTRY. LG replied to my prior review that they could not reach me as they had no contact info, case number, etc., but stating that they really want to help me out and make things right. Mind you, my review specifically noted their chosen repair service, A&E, so why they couldnt track me down is inexcusable and just further illustrates their apathy. Anyway, in their reply they asked me to reply in private with my contact info, which I did. After 2 weeks, I still have yet to hear back from them. Stay tuned...ORIGINAL REVIEW: Compressor failed after only 2.5 years of service. (Compared to its predecessor GE still going strong after 10 years.) After LG diagnosed bad compressor over the phone, we had to wait for two weeks for a service technician to visit. Instead of bringing the new part he simply confirmed the diagnosis and said it would take another two weeks to order and install the parts. The tech who ultimately replaced the compressor (with basically the same model, oh great!) stated that the initial tech was not telling the truth because they all carry LG compressors in their trucks as the problem is so common and widespread. We initially had to discard hundreds of dollars in food, plus we had to constantly buy ice and live out of ice chests in the garage over the course of nearly one month without the LG. Turns out there is a class action suit because of LG knowingly continuing to use the same faulty compressor, so guess Ill be adding to this complaint in a couple years!

WARNING, WARNING. Read before you buy an LG product. I have had this side by side LG refrigerator for 4 yrs and the compressor is dead. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? What a piece of junk. I have owned several refrigerators over my lifetime and all of them lasted more than 14yrs. I am over 60 so I have had lots of different products. This product needs to be recalled and replace by a different brand. I lost over $400 in frozen food. I am so frustrated right now and can promise you I will never, ever, ever again buy a LG product of any kind. This should not happen.

Purchased this washer in March of 2011. At first this washer worked great. Then it started to vibrate a lot more than it used to early on, then it started to tell me loads were constantly UE or uneven, then it started giving an IE code. It wasnt until the IE code that we called Sears... 2 months after our expensive $170 3 year warranty. They told us the part and we ordered it... wrong part. Finally got the right part and replaced it. The machine worked ok but we still had excessive vibrations and then it started stopping on 17 minutes. Wouldnt get past that time. Now, it is stopping at 45 minutes... and it took 3 hours to get to that point. My husband called Sears after finding out our machine is recalled and they claim that our machine doesnt count. He called a different Sears number and they said to call LG because its an LG machine. He calls LG and LG says that they no longer have a relationship with Sears and we need to talk to them. We then talk to Sears and the rep says our machine is definitely recalled but we need to call the recall line (which was the 1st call that had been made). He gives us the number to the escalation department and the rep claims she cant find our account. Then she says she needs a few minutes to research it and the call is disconnected. What are we supposed to do now? There really is a recall on this machine and I think it shook so bad over time that something was damaged in the unit. Sears wont help. LG wont help. Who can help? We are just out the 800 we paid? It is just my husband and I so it isnt like this machine was even used that much. No one will help us. What do we do now?

I purchased a LG top loader 10 kg washing machine. During a wash cycle it Exploded blowing the top of the machine right off. The force of the explosion was so intense that it smashed the near by window and sent shrapnel flying throughout the house. I contacted LG and asked why are these machines still in family homes. They need to be urgently recalled. After research I have found the same LG washing machines that have exploded in other people’s home. LG refuse to even replace the machine even with a receipt provided. These machines are dangerous. Please Beware when purchasing a LG washing machine. They are dangerous. I’m very thankful that I wasn’t standing in front of it at the time or my young grandchildren weren’t in the house. Very frightening experience and to think the company know these machines have the potential to Explode and do nothing. Very dangerous product.

We had our new fridge for about 2 years before it started not keeping things cold. We called for a repair. We have the extended warranty through Home Depot. They called right away set up an appointment, repair guy showed up said the cooling fan in back was going and possibly the compressor, he would order parts and be back. 2 weeks later he came back replaced the fan but did not replace the compressor, he said it was a costly and Timely repair and that the fridge is working fine now.2 weeks later we woke up in the morning to find water all over the kitchen floor and our floor buckled. We have the LG lfx229766s with fuel ice makers so there was a lot of water. We called customer service on 7/1/20 it is now 7/12/20 and we cant even get service to call for an appointment. When you call for service you get someone with broken English telling you that the service company will call, which they dont. Bottom line is that I bought the fridge and the warranty from home depot so I called them. They called the warranty and got the same results. They did offer to loan us a small fridge if we pick it up. So we still are without a fridge with no end in sight. DO NOT BUY AN LG FRIDGE OR EXTENDED WARRANTY or youll be in the same fix and dont expect any help from Home Depot.

Our family purchased a LG refrigerator four years ago. The refrigerator retailed for two thousand dollars. We started to have problems with the unit after two years with ice build-up on the back. After contacting LG they told us to defrost the fridge. We did that every four months as needed. Now after just four years we woke up to the refrigerator at forty degrees and everything melted in the freezer and now all the food has gone bad. The last refrigerator we owned lasted fourteen years when we gave it to our son still working. Today we spent literally five hours on the phone with service and tech dept. until I wanted to cry in frustration. I never have been through anything like this in the sixty years I have been buying appliances. I cant believe I chose this experience when shopping for a home appliance. But still do not think this is right in any way.

I bought an LG side-by-side refrigerator in Aug. 2009. It has been a problem since it was delivered. The first one was replaced and a new model was brought out. This one has been a nightmare since. The ice maker freezes up and does not work; you only get shaved ice. It has leaked to the point that it has bubbled the paint and rusted around the bottom of the exterior part of the ice maker. I have contacted the extended warranty company Assurance, which I purchased. They have been out for four different occasions and replaced the ice maker. They said there was nothing they could do about the rusted and peeled paint.I contacted LG and they said it was something I intentionally did to the refrigerator otherwise, it would not have done it. I was told by NFM that the extended warranty would cover all defects. Under the LEMON law, after 3 times and it would be replaced. Aug 23, 2011, I contacted Assurance and the representative gave a claim number and said it would be replaced; transferred me to an underwriter and he informed me in no circumstances did I have an extended warranty that had a Lemon Law Clause in it. It would have had to be added separately. I told him I never heard of that. He explained that he would not exchange this product for that reason and I would have to contact Nebraska Furniture Mart, which I did and still waiting to hear from them. LG makes the worse products and hopefully, the government will step in and take away their right to sell this crap in the USA. I have also told them the freezer has problems also; freezes up too much or not enough, and the refrigerator part stays cold or freezes everything.

I have had this washer for about a year and it has annoyed me since I first used it. I started getting the ue error within the first week of use. I went back and read the owners manual to learn how to load this machine. I started being extremely careful in the way I load it and I would only receive the error occasionally (cant wash a mixed of heavy and light weight items-really? I dont know anyone who doesnt wash their hand towels with their bath towels), but now I receive it with every load I run. My husband washed three loads of laundry this past weekend and he also received the ue error. He said it is a piece of junk! I paid a lot of money for this machine and I am ready to throw it out the window! I am done purchasing LG products. On a side note. I am 54, not tall by any means, but I have always been able to reach the bottom of the tub in a washer. I literally have to stand on a stool to remove all of the clothes from this machine. Bad design.

Purchased an LG Direct Drive washing machine model WT5001CW in 2011 from Sears. Seemed to be working well. Would get UE error for unbalanced loads now and then, and machine would stop. In 2013 we received a recall repair notice and as a good consumer scheduled the repair. Since then, the machine has not worked properly. We get UE message sometimes but typically at the 9 minute point in cycle, it goes into a continual refill/empty mode. We have to reposition clothing and try to get it to spin clothes but it rarely does. We end up having to cancel the cycle and re-program a spin only cycle. Sometimes this resolves the issue but most of the time doesnt. I called LG today to let them know what is happening and got nowhere. The rep said I am out of warranty date. I explained this has been happening since recall fix but it didnt matter. He offered to schedule a repair but it would cost a minimum of $200. Basically, a 4 y/o super expensive ($900) washer is defective due to their repair.

My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our standards. The biggest problem is the knobs on the gas stove. The knobs should be ruled as DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS. In my career I travel quite a bit and even though I have adult kids at home sometimes they do not notice when the gas is on because of the broken knobs. The white plastic on the insides have cracked causing the knobs to just turn but not completely turning the stove off. I have contacted LG and I too have been told to purchase new knobs, however you can purchase the knobs but the problem is still not fixed. I noticed that the new LG stoves have knobs that are very steady. Why not just replace the old knobs with the newer model knobs. I pray that before anything happens like gas explosions, gas leaks etc., they would ruled out that the knobs are defective and update all the former customers with the new knobs. A couple of thousand dollars is better than a couple of million for major lawsuits.

On September 7th, 2018, Home Depot Canada delivered an LG LFXC24726S refrigerator I had purchased on August 30th. I had researched refrigerators prior to going to Home Depot and relied on the salesman’s recommendation for either the LG or Samsung 3 door French style with external water and ice. Periodically during the first 9 months the defrost cycle seemed to run too long and things would be warm in both the refrigerator and freezer. On July 28th the unit stopped cooling completely. 4 hours later it started cooling again. Late afternoon on July 29th it stopped cooling again and I lost the contents of the refrigerator and the freezer that night. After repeated calls to LG on the morning of July 30th and having to send pictures of my invoice from Home Depot I was finally put through to the appliance repair service that handles their warranty repairs as a “priority”. The earliest anyone could come to look at it was 2 days later on August 1st. On July 31st the unit started cooling again. The technician could not determine what the problem was on August 1st so he decided to order a new main board. Cooling was intermittent after his visit and then the unit started freezing items in the refrigerator. On August 8th the part arrived and the repair service set up to replace the board on August 15th. The same technician did the repair and he was done in 20 minutes. The refrigerator worked fine for the 15th and the 16th but sometime in the early morning hours of August 17th it stopped cooling again completely and for the second time in less than a month I have lost hundreds of dollars of food. LG uses a repair service which does not work on the weekends and does not provide any emergency service. After more than an hour on the phone and on hold with LG’s Canadian customer service in Panama, I had to start over from scratch and send pictures of my purchase invoice AGAIN. Disgusting customer service and I am left with no refrigerator, garbage bags full of spoiled food and nothing more than an email sent to the same repair company with instructions for me to call them on Monday and book a service appointment. LG is aware of the issues with their sealed systems and linear inverters and there currently is a class-action lawsuit on behalf of consumers. How disappointing that they have not done anything to correct the problems and consumers are left with a useless piece of junk in their kitchen. Also very disturbing that Consumers Reports continues to recommend these defective refrigerators. I have subscribed for years to Consumers Reports magazine and believed their testing results but no more. DON’T BUY LG!

The LG refrigerator was on a sale brand new and nothing was wrong with it. It was the first fridge I bought using my own credit card in my name. It has no issues what so ever mechanically. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. No issues at all and it matches with other appliances they have in their kitchen.

Here is what I did about my problem. I went to Home Depot and bought what is called a Mini-Rester - $10.83 - one each for hot and cold. This is a device that attaches between your water lines and the washer. It has a tube with air in it. When the water shuts off abruptly the air in the tube takes the shock and drastically reduces the water hammer. If you have high water pressure as I do you will need these. You may have to adjust the water down some through the knob on the wall for both hot and cold but eventually you can find a happy medium.

No one works on them hardly, read below... Not good experience... On 1/16/2018 my refrigerator stopped cooling & freezing. (Linear Compressor Unit), Model LFXS24623S, purchased for (note, compressor under 10 year warranty). My problems started in in mid-January 2018. I made the call to LG. There is a very good chance that the refrigerator has a compressor issue based on the symptoms per tech support. Tech support provided me with (4) certified LG service companies to call to schedule a service visit. Out of the four companies none of them would take the job. One was out of range, two did not work on the linear compressors and the other was not working with LG at this time.Summary of the long story: Calls to LG tech support were in excess of 15 and multiple to the service companies. Issues: every call to tech support I had to repeat the entire explanation of what happened, seems that the support group does not read all of the CNN# notes. Frustrating time after time. I had to tell the LG support group who could not work on my unit, who already came, who was out of range, etc… Support does not have direct contact with the LG certified companies to get direct feedback to the consumer (me). Support works with your service contract company to place a work order, consumer is not involved. Caused confusion many times. Many delays with parts coming from LG for first service call, caused many delays. Received (3) case numbers **. Should only have one to have all of the notes/history under one case number? Received (2) RNN numbers **. Received (1) APN number **. 3/15/2018 a certified LG service company (Broadway Sales) final took the job from 1 ½ hours away. After review the LC internal compressor unit has a hole that in “not” repairable. Broadway reported back to LG. Another call to LG for a follow up, LG informed me due to the severity they had to have a second certified company verify the issue. Keep in (8) weeks have passed. One – LG barely found a company to service the unit, Second- (8) weeks has passed. Still not fixed working on (12) weeks... 4/4/2018.

I have had this LG Direct drive top load washing machine for approximately 3 years. My laundry has never smelled bad but since we bought this washing machine I hate to do laundry. It NEVER smells good (always smells bad). I have done all the recommended precautions. I always use HE detergent. I leave the door open between loads, tub clean, bleach etc. Nothing works! I HATE HATE HATE this washing machine. If anyone reads this dont buy it. I used to trust LG but I think they should stick to t.v.s!!! Please make them give us our money back!

I want to tell you about the major issue and health problem with the top loading washer. I have been getting mold in my washer and on my clothes EVERY time I do a load of wash. This has been going on for months and it isnt going away. I run the clean cycle every few weeks hoping to keep the tub clean but it doesnt work. Ive run the clean cycle using a quart of bleach and then again using a quart of vinegar. The tub never drains properly and that is what is causing the mold. This is ridiculous and is a major health issue!!! Ive reported this to Consumer Affairs as well. This thing should be replaced immediately!!!

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I have read far too many horror stories.

Puchased LG Washer (top loader) in May 2018, had it delivered & set up, and got NO instruction on how to use the item. It tears rugs, uses too little water, wastes water, does not clean clothes, and I am told to not wash heavy items, then again not to wash light items. No response from LG even after unknowledgeable repair visit, and Home Depot (Seller) will not return calls. Worst washer on the marked, for sure.

I requested a repair service on May 7 through LG.com. I purchased my washer and dryer combo in July 12, 2016. The rubber belt was dislocated and it seemed to be leak soon. The first email was came on May 9, and the one technician who supposed to call me to set up time did not call me. Thus I called on May 12 again. On May 13 I received an email from LG.com saying the contact information for service center and reference number. I called the service center on that day and the guy said he did not get any work order from LG.com. On May 15, I wanted to speak with supervisor because all representatives copied the same script and no technician contacted me. The representative hung my call up. Finally on May 15, I got a service center number and contact them. On May 17, the tech guy came and check this machine. The rubber and wire ring are out and he needs to place order for new. The brand new washer dryer has issue at the rubber which is the main factor to keep water in! It is unexpectable and very dissatisfied experience with LG.com. The supervisor of customer service said only sorry for being delayed and she would not sent the part with overnight. Even though LG.com caused this unrealistic delay, they did not want show how they are sorry for this. I cannot trust their merchandise as well as their worst customer care. I do not why LG.com has the customer service department.

Purchased refrigerator 12/13 and luckily I bought additional coverage on it because it stopped cooling in 5/15, 12/15, 9/16 and you have guessed it. 2/18 it is not working again. At this point I no longer have coverage on it but I have spent the last two days going back and forth with LG and finally after producing my original receipt they will as a courtesy schedule appt. It has been quite an ordeal when I complained of faulty refrigerator. They had the nerve to say there are no complaints on it... There really should be somewhere to file official complaints and not be stuck getting transferred back and forth and getting different answers from different people. DO NOT PURCHASE LG FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR.

I remodeled my kitchen at the end of 2015 and bought brand new LG appliances: a fridge, a range and a dishwasher. The fridge broke twice since. The dishwasher broke once. The range has not broken yet BUT all the markings on the knobs came off and it is very hard to know at what temperature we are setting the burners. This has been for me an awful experience. I will never buy LG again.

We purchased a top load LG washer from Home Depot. We were told how energy efficient it was, saving water and time, spinning the clothing so dry it would take less drying time, and that all washers would soon be made without agitators. They were on sale, so we purchased one. Big mistake! I have to run all loads on heavy duty and extra rinse just to get enough water in the machine to get the clothes clean and get most of the detergent out (No, I dont put in too much detergent). This takes 76 minutes, no matter the size of load, which most are small to medium to be sure the clothes get clean. It has also started knocking and getting off balance. I cant wait to get rid of this washer and would never recommend this type to anyone.

Last Christmas we bought an LG French Door Refrigerator. This past August it started making a noise. My husband called LG. They sent out a repairman and he said that it was not defrosting. He opened the back of the refrigerator, it had a chunk of ice which was making the noise. He replaced the computer board and stated that would fix the problem. On September 7 I noticed the freezing section was not cold. With a temperature gun my husband noted that the temperature was only 32 degrees and according to the computer setting on the refrigerator it should have been 0 degrees. From this point on our nightmare started.Another repairman come out at 8:30 Thursday the 8 in the morning and stated that it need a computer board. It was replaced a second time. At four oclock that afternoon my husband check the freezer. It only registered 32 degrees. From this point on it has been a series of phone calls to LG customer service. My husband even talked to a supervisor on Monday the 12 who stated that the last repairman sent in a recommendation that the refrigerator should be replaced. After more phone calls to LG they now says that they will fix it for a third time. We are at our wits end. We called hhgregg where we bought the refrigerator from and of course their help was minimal. If and when our problem is fixed, I will not recommend LG products to no one.

Hi! I love my LG refrigerator! It is the best refrigerator I have ever owned! The temperature in the whole refrigerator is pretty much consistent. The drawers are a nice size. Easy to find things. The freezer makes ice cubes well. The setup inside the freezer area is nice. The overall look of the refrigerator is nice! I have the French doors and many years later, the doors still line up well!! The stainless appearance is a nice color and has held up nicely! And never had anything wrong or to be fixed.

My 14 month old 26 cu foot LG refrigerator completely died on 4/19. LG ONLY allows their service companies and THEIR parts for repair. 1st attempt at repair did not work. Now they tell me it will be 5/15 to get the needed part and sorry for my inconvenience. I spent the last 3 days on the phone with management and although I have been told theyd replace the unit, they have not. I have been told 3 times now that Id get a call back within 24 hrs and never have. They are totally giving me the runaround and flat out lies.I have been without a fridge for 14 days now... with several children. No milk, no cheese, etc. It is a nightmare. If I had known the horrible customer service issues, Id have just gone out and bought a different brand fridge weeks ago. I guess Im a sucker for believing that the company might actually want to provide a satisfactory customer experience. Not being on hold for 45 min while a recording repeatedly chimes your time is valuable to us.

I purchased it in January 2011 at Home Depot. As of this week in June 2013, the refrigerator runs non-stop and the freezer frosts over. The refrigerator part does not keep food cold, only cool. LG customer service was like talking to a wall. I also bought a washer: a full tub without an agitator and water saver. The tub never fills up enough to cover the clothing I end up pouring buckets of water in the tub to fill over the clothing. The agitation is so slight that stains and dirt are rarely removed. NEVER EVER buy an LG product. They are high priced junk.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

In 2006, my husband and I purchased all new LG appliances from Home Depot and paid for the 4-year extended warranty. We have the WM2077CW washing machine, LFX25960ST French Door Refrigerator, DLG3788W Dryer, LDF6810ST Dishwasher and LRG30355ST Gas Range. We have had problems with every single appliance, have had the extended warranty repairs done on each one, and continue to have problems. The latest is the washer has stopped draining and the drain pump motor is broken. Our warranty expired on 14 Apr 11 and both Home Depot and LG will do nothing. The refrigerator is now leaking water all over our kitchen floor, and the knobs on the gas stove are cracked again--they have been replaced twice already! Please do not purchase anything from LG! I know we should have been worried when the washer broke the first week we got it home, the dishwasher leaked and the refrigerator water dispenser has never worked properly, even after multiple service calls. Even the extended warranty hasnt saved us from having to replace parts that arent covered. I wish we never bought LG, and Home Depot hasnt stood behind them.

I was told by a repairman about two refrigerator brands to buy, saying they have less returns and less repairs. And so, I went with the LG. The refrigerator looks really nice and I was happy with it, but it wasn’t even two years old and it broke twice. I’m very dissatisfied with it. It quit getting cold, and ruined my groceries twice. When it started ruining my food, I thought it was just the food. I didn’t notice it as it took a little while to warm up. And then come to find out it would start melting my ice cream. It was a little over a year when it first went out. I called Lowe’s, where I bought it, and then they turned anything to get it fixed. Then in less than three months, the refrigerator did it again. I called again, and then I had to wait quite some time for the parts to come in.The compressor went out and something else along with it. And so, when they fixed it the second time, they had to redo everything, and put something else in there. LG has a good warranty on certain parts of the refrigerator. But we paid $3,800 for that. Its working now, and it works nicely, but I don’t trust it anymore because it went out twice. I wouldn’t buy another one because of the problems that I had with them.

We had this dishwasher for 11 mos before we noticed cracks along the top of the co tell panel. LG claims that this is surely cosmetic akin to a scratch or dent. I disagree, this is a poorly designed unit. Lowes actually did not want to cover this cosmetic defect, the repairman got it covered due to the cracks allowing moisture into the controls. Fast forward 3 mos, the newly replaced control panel now has cracks the same as the previous panel. The plastic used on these panels is apparently defective or the unit produces more heat than the panel can withstand. This is an engineering issue and not enough testing was done to notice the apparent heat issues. I am not the only person who has had this same problem, but yet LG does not want to admit it has issues.

I purchased the LG refrigerator in June 2016 from Home Depot. The compressor failed July 2017. Fortunately, I had purchased the extended 5-year warranty through Home Depot; however, the on going saga of trying to get the unit repaired is unacceptable. It took nearly 10 days to get repairman to the house to diagnose the problem. There were no compressors anywhere within the United States to replace the defective compressor. The compressor was back ordered with a promised delivery date 10 days after the repairman had diagnosed the problem. I expected the compressor to arrive by August 3rd. I was recently informed that it would not arrive before August 17th with a possible installation to occur within 1 to 3 days after that date! This would be over a month to get the refrigerator repaired. In discussing the problem with the repairman, he informed me that he is seeing numerous compressor problems with the LG refrigerator. Home Depot, although not acknowledging a problem, was good enough to offer a small refrigerator to provide some form of unit for us to have in the interim. I suspect that they know that LG has a major problem that is being swept under the rug. This is a problem that needs further investigation.I honestly want Home Depot to take the unit back, so I can replace it with another brand. It was the top of the line LG refrigerator, in which I paid nearly $3000. Compressors should not fail within a years time, and if they do, there should be replacements available in less time than a month. Clearly, LG has some sort of defective design with their refrigerator compressors. As I have investigated the problem online, I noted that there has been at least one class action suit against LG refrigerators in the recent past. I believe that this issue is potentially lining up for another class action suit.

Updated on 08/02/2019: LG is blatantly cheating its customers in the name of Customer Service. Now they are not ready to replace my unit as I do not have the purchase receipt, is this JUSTICE? What is the use of Serial Number on the unit. Am sure LG can extract all the details based on Serial number but they want to cheat the customers and humiliate them. Please stay away from LG, my young family suffered a lot due to LG.Original Review: We bought LG Refrigerator and it stopped cooling after 4 years. We called LG and they sent a service technician after 2 days, he did the repair and the refrigerator stopped cooling again after 3 days. Now the horror story starts. I called LG and they said that a service agent will call me back to schedule an appointment and it never happened. I called continuously for 4 days and each time its a 45 minutes wait but they just treat customers like garbage. I will never ever buy or endorse LG product in my life. We purchased an electric range, model LRE3012ST, on October 27, 2012, a top of the line model electric range. On the second day, we noticed that one burner when turned off did not show the HS indicating the surface was still hot. This is a safety feature to tell the consumer not to go near the burner since its still dangerously hot. We had two service calls over the next four weeks, and the technician would replace circuit boards. In both repairs the problem became worse, meaning other problems occurred besides still having the original issue. After the technician left the second time telling us he would call back when he had new parts, I decided to call Home Depot; and to make a long story short, LG called two days later and said they would deliver a new range. We received the new range on Dec. 22, 2012. And today, January 8, 2013, after having used the oven, we are unable to turn the oven off. The only way to turn it off is to pull the range from the wall and unplug it. My next call very shortly will be to Home Depot and demand they take this range; and I want it replaced with another range, but not an LG. I dont know where this range is made, but I will guess its China or the parts are made in China. And once again, China screws the American consumer.

This frig was bought Dec. 2006 for $1349. Several years ago, upon opening frig the plastic cover over the light bulbs had melted and fallen down. Terrible smell and it had turned light bulb black. Last night noticed that butter from butter compartment was as if it had been in microwave. Melted in my hand. The light bulb left on was across from butter compartment.Just realized that there has been a problem with lights not turning off when door closed. Also several years ago one vegetable drawer broke off and had to reorder part. Now also 2nd shelf is totally falling apart. Plastic is brittle. It is only 2 people in this household and this frig has not been abused in any way. I hope there is some compensation for this as I am just really irritated. From my reading LG knew about this problem in 2005 and 2006 and continued to sell this unit.

My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.

We called LG back again and again and now they will call us back when their scheduling dept finds someone to look at it. Our son has diabetes and has to keep his insulin cold and thats not happening and LG could care less. We are buying ice to keep it cold. No one has called us back and we have talked to with 3 managers so far and no one has called us back and we have no service date yet. Wonder how long this will go on? I am getting ready to call them again and spend today on the phone begging for help after spending $4000 on a Refrigerator. Update. We took their phone survey after their 10th call and said we were not happy with the results of the call and they had the ** to call us right back tell me they did not appreciate the review or deserved the low score on the review I gave them. Now we still have a $4000 refrigerator that is not working, cant get anyone to fix it for any amount of money and they have time to call me and tell me they did not like my review. I am speechless. Please be a prudent shopper when buying this unit. We purchased this refrigerator (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) two years ago and paid about $1000 extra for a counter depth unit. That brought the price just close to $3700.00. I did not get the warranty because I thought it would last at least five years. Nope. The Error Code E-IF comes on at least once a month. The refrigerator went in bad order about six months after we bought it. Luckily the year warranty was still good. Just about every month now, I have to use a hair dryer and defrost the unit so my family can get ice and water through the door. That is not good for a unit of this price. At first, I would pull the unit out and unplugging it for at least four hours. That is not good when the thing weighs a ton and it has to sit in the middle of the kitchen. I have now found a YouTube video of another customer that uses a ladys hair dryer to defrost the unit. I have began using a hair dryer to defrost the unit as well. It is much faster. Searching the internet, I have found other people who reported this is not a great unit to buy and they too have had many problems. LG should issue a recall or reach out to the many customers who have complained about this unit. I think that will go a long way to making the consumer happy. Again, it is the ice maker that is horrible.UPDATE on 04/08/2017: I had a service person come out and they told me my electronics board and the fan at the bottom of the unit needed replacing. Mind you, we have had this unit (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) less than five years. The technician said company recommended a new board and a new ice fan. The board only cost .74 cents. That is right.. Only 74 cents. I find that strange. Seems to me that board was bad. The Ice Fan was a tad more costly. Anyway the job came up to over $300 to repair. Issue one. I had to wait for the electronics board and the fan to arrive. The next service date that I could get was six days from the initial visit. So, I had no ice and water through the door. We survived. We knew that the unit would be fixed in a couple days. Six days later (yesterday) the technician comes out and installs the parts. Refrigerator worked well for ONE day. Just looked at it and a different Error Code is on R-DH. Are you kidding me? This thing cost too much to have all these problems. The fix for this is to unplug the unit and then allow it to reset. So, I have to pull it out from the wall again. How many times, I can could. Maybe I should keep track. I will do this. If it does not work, LG website suggests a service call. Wow.

Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.

I chose to purchase LG because I love LG products. They were the first to be innovative in my eyes and expanded theirs products from phones to refrigerators. Their designs always look so modern and sleek unlike other brands. I loved how big the refrigerator was and how many things you can fit inside and still have space. Also its reliable and lasts and look nice. Easy to move and assemble and everything like that. Also looks great with my decor. But I dislike the price of the refrigerator, it seems to me like it wasnt really worth the price that I had paid. I feel like it should include more things and maybe more shelves but works like it should and gets the job done.

I purchased a fridge from Best Buy in 2013. It was an open item but was only a display item never leaving the store. We had the understanding that LG would honor open ticket items as though they were brand new. If we had known that LG (according to them) do not honor open item warranties I would not have bought the open item to save $100. I would have gone with a unopened product. But that isnt the full issue. So we bought a fridge it 2013 had some minor issues with the fridge but were able to fix the problems with a little help from videos as they were not major issues nothing repairing just thawing or cleaning something up. Well about 3-4 weeks ago we noticed our food was no longer staying cold and everything in our freezer was thawed and had to be thrown out and fridge was also not keeping things cold and lost most of our fridge stuff as well. We contacted LG to see if they could have someone come out and fix the issue as it was still under warranty. Well they called back to say they could get someone out to us in two weeks. We have young children in the home so going without a fridge for 2 weeks was not acceptable. We spoke to best buy and they recommended a repair place that is LG certified to come out and look at it. We contacted them and they asked the model and serial number once he got that information he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He has been fixing about 2-5 of these a week for the past year as it was a known defect during assembly of the product. When he first started seeing these issues appear he spoke to a tech at LG and the tech from LG let it slip mistakenly that during assembly of a part the worker bypassed procedures and did not install or use a spark shield. Without that part during assembly the part would fail within 4-5 years. And it looks based on the fact that he has fixed 2-5 a week that it is actually happening a lot. We had the repairman order the parts to get it fixed and we then find out that we would be charged a flat rate of $399 + tax or $425 to repair this. Parts would be all covered but labor wasnt so labor would be $425. I really find it hard to believe that I should be responsible for the labor on a product that was sold to me with a defective product. But we needed a fridge so we got the parts and had the repairman to come. Now the repairman spent 3 hrs only to find out the part that was sent was defective as well and did not work. So now my family has been without a fridge for 3-4 weeks. We called to complain to LG that first off we dont think we should be responsible for the labor costs if it was due to a defective product they knowingly put into the fridge. After some lengthy conversations with LG they have now since claimed that they will not pay anything due to this product being an open item product. They are still not standing up and admitting they put a defective part into a product and sold it. We know there is a list of serial numbers with this issue. If I had bought a car with a defective part a recall would be issued to repair this. But LG is trying to keep this on the down low and not pay up. It doesnt stop there. They have told our repairman that we said he was unprofessional and that he did not do a good job so now they are making false claims against our repairman that we never said. Plus during my first conversation with them they mentioned that you would be completely covered and you will have no cost out of your pocket for the repair only to go back on that statement and only offer my repair man a voucher for $115 of the $425 service. While I waited on the phone for the confirmation that this was all worked out I repeatedly asked will I be completely covered and nothing will come out of my pocket to which I was told over and over again that it will be covered. Only to find out the lied again to me and that they were only offering the lower rate. Now after we complained more now they are completely dropping all help and deeming this was due to the open item purchase and they dont cover the warranty on open items. I spoke to Best Buy and they restated that is not the case. Open items they sell are covered under warranty without question. Please what can you do to help. This has been very frustrating that I am without a fridge and now I am having to pay another $400 after buying a fridge less than 5 years ago for 1800. This is not the service I expected from a billion dollar company.

We bought this refrigerator less than 2 years ago (12/2016). A few weeks ago it stopped cooling. A serviceman from the store where we bought the refrigerator came out to service it, and said the coil with the refrigerant was leaking. BUT, he couldnt fix it because LG only lets its own servicemen fix this problem (according to the serviceman thats because so many LG refrigerators refrigerant coils leak). The serviceman said LG would contact me within 24 hours to set up an appointment. 3 days later we hadnt heard from LG. We again called the store where wed purchased the refrigerator and then said they would call LG directly. Even then (after a week without a refrigerator) LG jerked us around. First, someone would be out the next day. Then 3 days later. After someone finally came and fixed the refrigerator, it stopped working again 3 days later! This time we went directly to the store where we had purchased the model, and they agreed to replace the refrigerator. LG wont do squat to rectify their defective product. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIGERATOR.

I purchased the LG Smart Drum top-loading washing machine a few years ago. The clothes come out very wrinkled. I now put almost all my laundry in the dryer; it helps remove the severe wrinkling. I used to just hang clothes up after washing them. Now it takes more energy: my own, and the electricity. I just finished ironing a top which I have had for well over a decade, used to just remove it, nice and clean, from my beloved Kenmore front loader, and hang it up. This was the case with all my clothes. I purchased my machine at The Brick, had to leave the country for a few months, and when I returned it was too late to have the unit replaced. Cant really fault The Brick, but they should know these machines are not-so-great. I have read the other reviews on this site, and my experience is not as truly awful as many others. But I will stay well away from LG in the future, and do more homework before purchasing.

Purchased our fridge brand new Model number LFD22786 French doors, freezer below, stainless steel. In 7 weeks the freezer began to warm up, by eight weeks it completely quit and so did the refrigerator. We called LGs service dept and they sent a repairman out after waiting a week. The compressor was shot as well as the control board. He had to order parts. Parts were on back order. They didnt call to tell me this. I had to call the repair company to get a service number to call LG directly. They told me the parts were back ordered and wouldnt be in for another 4 weeks...or longer. They were going to put in a request that the fridge be exchanged. So the request sat in que waiting for someone to look at it. It is still sitting there. I have to wait again/still another three days before I can call them back and check on the status of the order. I am now three and a half weeks without a refrigerator and holding. I will NEVER buy another LG product (did I mention these suckers are EXPENSIVE?) and I will NEVER recommend them. They have proven that as long as they have our money, life is definitely good for them...not so good for the consumers who trusted them to have a good product.

We took the light bulb out so I only have to open the door when dryer has been used. The washer and dryer doors are always open to permit me from having to lean over and pull the doors open. We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years.
We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years. Around October 2018, the refrigerator stopped working and the refrigerator leaked water and damaged our floors. We called LG for repair and they said that the compressor is under warranty and we will need to only pay labor, which was around 350. So on October 31, 2018 the compressor was repaired and full service was done my a LG technician. The refrigerator again stopped working on Feb 23, 2019 with a compressor issue. LG gives a 90 day warranty on repairs. So I contacted LG and requested if they can waive any fees related to this repair as I was just 20 days over the 90 day warranty. I got a rude response from LG after multiple attempts to follow up. They essentially said: RULES ARE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was shocked. It was bad enough that a replacement compressor broke and on top of this I had to face this from them. Anyways I got a licensed LG technician to come out and take a look at it.The scheduling of tech visit is another story. 2 different people called me from LG, one saying the tech will arrive on Friday evening and the other saying Saturday morning. The tech himself called and he said Friday evening. I didn’t know who to believe. Finally the guy showed up on a Friday. He looked at fridge, said it’s a bad compressor and said there is a lot of dust, so he cannot repair the fridge. Now am I supposed to open the back of the fridge and clean the compressor? Apparently that’s what this tech expected. He said clean it and then call me. I will not touch it unless someone cleans it.Please note that the same fridge was repaired by another LG tech some 100 days back. After this experience I said I had enough. I just got a used GE fridge. Some 12 days after, LG called to inquire the status. I told them I took their product to a dump, they said OK and were happy that they did not have to fix it. They didn’t even think once to apologize for this or give any compensation for the 2 times I lost weeks of grocery in a full refrigerator. LG sucks !! If you buy LG, life’s gone!!!

I bought my refrigerator on 3/1/2016. On 8/4/2019 the compressor goes out and I lost close to 1000$ of food. I called LG and they sent out A&E Factory service, which for one is a terrible repair service, and also sent a new compressor. A&E replace the compressor and left. The fridge then cooled for about 3 hours and then stopped. So then I called LG and they sent out another guy another week later and they said that the refrigerant had leaked out and they had no idea why. So they ordered three more parts and they came in and then another week later another repair guy came out to replace those. Oh, it was the same guy that replaced the compressor, and after that he left and said give it 24 hours, but after 3 hours it again stopped cooling. It has been three weeks since Ive been without a refrigerator now and I called again on 8/25/2019 and they still will not be able to get another person out here for another week and a half.

Two years later in 2013...the power would turn on but drum wouldnt turn... Had that repaired, costs approx. 300.00 in total... Now the power turns off and the drum keeps going. And LG service dept stinks. They charge 100.00 just to come out to look at it, and then you have to pay for them to come back again to fix it. Doesnt anyone stand behind their product anymore? The worst item EVER that Ive bought in my entire life. Ive had a lot of amazing dishwashers over the years from cheap on up. This ones a nightmare. From Day 1 there were issues with LG. Plates dont stack. They immediately fall over (like dominoes). The cutlery holder malfunctioned almost immediately. It no longer locks together to hold the utensil basket in place. This results in the far end basket (one of 4) tipping over into the unit from the weight. The top rack organizing glasses, bowls or cups. Again items continually fall over. I (originally) thought adjustable times on both the top and bottom rack was a smart idea. Im sure it looked good on paper but its a complete and total failure. Nothing is secure. Nothing is reliable. Does LG even bother to test the equipment they build? From the bottom of my heart...if you see this dishwasher for sale please just run away as fast as you can!

Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.

I have been trying for 6 months for someone to show up to fix it. They then sent me an email a month ago saying they would call me to arrange a time to replace it. They didnt call. Another technician was scheduled to come. This would be the 19th appointment I have had with them and none they have shown up to. I just received another text saying that my appointment is cancelled and LG are doing absolutely nothing to honor my warranty with them in rectifying the situation. I can not say enough to never buy anything from LG.Updated on 08/14/2019: 2nd time I am writing about useless LG. I bought a brand new refrigerator. It broke after two weeks of owning it. 6 months has passed. They use A&E Factory as technicians. A&E have cancelled on me 17 times leaving me to wait at home for them and then either not calling at all or they text 30 mins before the end time. LG contacted me after I wrote my first bad review saying they would replace it. This was a month ago and now they have disappeared. Do not buy LG, the product breaks; the company is dishonest, they do nothing to help, they lie and do not follow the warranty. I am still stuck with a broken fridge with no help whatsoever. I never write reviews. I am so upset and angry about this situation I had to write this so no one else goes through what I am right now. I am utterly stranded and at the mercy of the technicians never showing up and LG doing nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely disgusting.Original Review: Your freezer broke within two weeks of me owning the refrigerator. I have been waiting 12 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Your service provider in my area has cancelled and not shown up to any of the appointments that have been set. I will never ever ever buy an LG product ever again and I am telling every single person I know and all those that follow me on social media, on Yelp and Google and all sites to share my advice of never buying any LG products. I am disgusted with your company and disgusted I have been offered no compensation for this situation.

We purchased an LG front load washer and dryer and they both work fairly well. However, the front of the washing machine is rusting! Yes rusting, right by the soap dispenser. It sounds ridiculous that after 4 years the machine is rusting, but worse than that was the companys response. LG does not care. They act like they care, they tell you they care, they express their sorrow, but they wont fix the issue. They do absolutely nothing! They expressed to me that I must continually dry that area. In the manual it tells you to keep it dry! Not that the design is bad, not that the dish should not leak, but that by not constantly drying that area it could rust! I asked if they ever heard of this happening and they said no. Then I searched online and found out, that was not the case. This is absolutely a problem! A $1,000 problem. It worked for a few days after that and now stopped again. It doesnt clean clothes all that well & sometimes doesnt spin the water out enough. We purchased our gas range from Home Depot. The first range had a gas leak and home Depot replaced it with the exact same. Down the road the knob for the oven head broken. I called LG and mentions the broken oven knob and also mentioned that we had smelled gas coming from the stove. They sent out a technician to fix the oven knob but not check to see if the stove was leaking gas. We experienced natural gas smells on and off in our kitchen. So then I decided to call again and then they sent someone out to check on the gas leak. It was leaking gas due to a manufacturer defect just like the very first stove. This gas leak had been going on for about 9 months. LG has horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and they do not care that this natural gas that has been leaking from their stove has caused health issues for all of our family members. The health issues that we as a family have experienced are lightheadedness, burning eyes, headaches, ringing of the ears, flu like symptoms, breathing problems and chest pains. After the repair of the gas leak we called LG to let them know we do not feel comfortable with having their gas range in our home after this being the second one that has been leaking natural gas. They did not care. They did not show concern. They were not willing to provide a new unit. The care of this company is not about the well-being of their customers. We have also had trouble with the refrigerator and dishwasher being stainless steel having rust on them. I did also bring this up during the phone call but they said thats not their problem. Not sure how you can call something stainless steel put your name on it and then say its not your problem. All of these experiences that we have had with our kitchen appliances happened within the first year we bought them. I hope this helps others make a informed decision on purchasing LG products.

I purchased LG Waveforce Top Loading Washer WT5001cw and Gas Dryer Set on 7/9/11 from Best Buy. I had a little issue of leaking that out of nowhere was resolved. On 10/31/2102, I went to the washer to get my whites out. I couldnt open the washer because it was locked. I pressed the power button & it would not turn on. I pulled out the manual to troubleshoot the issue. There was nothing in the manual to address this issue. I then called LG. I talked to a rep out of a call center in the country of Panama. The person told me to unplug unit for 30 seconds to reset. I did this. That did not work. The person then told me to check the circuit breaker to see if the outlet tripped. I checked the circuit breaker & everything checked out normal. That did not fix issue. They told me to plug it into a different outlet. I did this. That did not fix issue. I told rep that I smelled a burning smell coming from unit. The rep told me to unplug unit. I immediately unplugged unit. Rep stated that since the unit was a bit over warranty, I would have to send my original receipt to them to be approved for an extended warranty. I faxed LG the documents they requested. As we waited days to see if this warranty was going to be approved, on Sunday, 11/4/12, my husband went down to basement to see if washer would turn on. He plugged it back in & smelt a burning smell & saw smoke coming from the back of unit. He took off a small white cover in the back to see what was happening. We found out that the main power source in the washer had caught on fire and this wasnt the first time since 10/31/12. We immediately called LG to report this & they seemed uninterested in helping us. This call center was in Asia. We also took many pictures. This rep told us we needed to contact LG on Monday to find out what to do next. On Monday, we called & talked to a rep in the USA by the name of Adrianne **, a supposed supervisor for LG. She wasnt helpful whatsoever and she was extremely rude. She made us re-fax and email another copy of original sales receipt to call us a few hours later to tell us that we were not approved for the extended warranty. She said her superiors told her that because we took off the back panel, we voided the warranty or any option for an extended. We were like Are you ** kidding us? This was an emergency situation of an LG appliance on fire in our home and it caught on fire previously days before this. Then this stupid rep told us to go to Best Buy to see if they could do anything for us, which we did that same night, which was tonight. The Best Buy manager pretty much laughed (not at us) as they were shocked LG told us to go back to them. Now, we are in a situation of being without a washer. We are trying to figure out what to do next. This appliance cannot be repaired. Even if it could, we dont want a fire hazard in our home or have to worry about it re-catching on fire in future.

The knobs on my NEW THREE MONTH OLD stove are so touchie I’ve turned them on without even knowing, and have it catch on fire on my glass top and burned myself trying to put it out. This was on 7/21/18. I called the company and emailed SEVERAL times. Getting told, they will get back to me even after I told them how dangerous the knobs are and it happens all the time. I told them I’m scared children or adults can seriously be burned. Then I sent them pictures and kept getting the runaround because I didn’t need to go to the emergency room they said. (I was not trying to sue them) just let them know how dangerous it is. I now have permanent fire damage on my three month old glass stove top. I asked if they could fix it and the phone supervisor (accidentally) hung up on me when I called back with my case number. They said they have no record of me calling at all. And have not seen the faxed pictures they told me to send. Then today 12/7/18 same thing happened and once again. This time a big fire we had to put out. Now my pretty glass top stove looks terrible but lucky no major fire damage - just a terrible looking stove. The sad thing is I have LG stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer and dryer. You think a big company like their’s would take this seriously.

Bought 2 LG French door refrigerators in January 2017. Paid about 3 grand each. April 2019 1 of the fridges stopped cooling. Called LG. Repairman came out and said compressor not working. He returned a week later. Replaced compressor. 4 days later not cooling again. Everything melted, water on wood floors. He said motherboard not working. Waited 1 week with a broken fridge and motherboard replaced. 4 days later found water on ground again. Everything melted. Called again and said will change out compressor again. Need to wait 1 week again. 4 days later broken again which is tonight. This should be illegal. Are they going to do this for next couple of yrs until warranty is expired? In meantime we have to suffer with a broken fridge every week? Anyone with suggestions on how to approach? I wrote complaint to BBB also. Now we have to call LG tomorrow to get repairman out again. This will be 4th visit for same problem.

We moved into our new home this past year and purchased all new LG applianc
We moved into our new home this past year and purchased all new LG appliances. Within about a month after we purchased our stove, we had problems with the main board, and it was replaced without a problem. At the end of May, we started having problems with our refrigerator. It began making loud noises and then shutting itself off. We contacted the company to arrange the repair, and the repairman scheduled a call for the end of the week. When the repairman didnt show, we called the service. We were told, at first, that someone would be there, and then we were told that we were never put on the schedule. A service man ended up stopping by and told us that the problem is also the main board. It is a common problem that he works on all the time. He continued to tell us that LG was a very poor product, and we shouldnt have purchased it because of all the problems he addresses with them. He said he would order the part and let us know when it came in. The following week, he told us mid-week that he ordered the part and was waiting for it. By the following Monday, my daughter became ill with the symptoms of food poisoning. I contacted LG again to complain and was told they would replace the unit with a new or upgraded model. The representative named Isla took my information and informed me it would be processed within business days as soon as they received a copy of our receipt. I uploaded the receipt and called them back. I was informed that they had received the receipt, and it would be sent to the replacement division who would call me back. Yesterday (5 days later), I called LG and the representative didnt seem to know what was going on so I requested to speak with a supervisor. I then talked to Sherry, who was actually nice and tried to be understanding. She told me that the person I talked to on Monday didnt do anything with the case and was not authorized to promise us anything. She said she would do what she could, but it was up to the Replacement Division to determine what would happen. After being on the phone with her for another hour and breaking down in tears over the frustration of dealing with them on this, she researched our case and assured me that she had sent it to the Replacement Division. A representative named Kim would contact me that afternoon. She also told me that if I didnt hear anything by 4:30 Central time, I should call them back as their day ended at 5:00 Central time. That would give Kim time to talk to me on the status. When I called back, I talked to a person named Courtney and asked to speak with a supervisor. She informed me that the supervisor was away from his desk. I asked her to either find him or allow me to stay on the phone until he returned. She refused and said the only options I had were to either leave a voice message or she would email him. I informed her that after my experience, I didnt trust them to get back to me. I wanted to speak to him immediately, which I was refused. Eventually, I agreed to have her email him with a copy sent to me, and she put me on hold. I was then connected with Kim, who was completely rude, and told me that they were not going to replace the unit. They were going to issue us a refund of the appliance, and that the paper work would be sent to us on Monday because the end of the day was in 12 minutes. She wouldnt bother to do anything that close to closing. She then told me it would take another week to process the paper work, send it to accounting and then eventually, they would issue us a check. If we are lucky, maybe in two more weeks. As far as the refrigerator is concerned, they dont want it back so we have to also figure out how to dispose of it. So now, we have a bad refrigerator that we cant use. The customer service department has been unprofessional AND irresponsible in handling our case, and we have no immediate resolution in sight. It is unacceptable that customers are being treated this way.

Since I bought the unit in October of 2015 I have had nothing but issues with it. After installation the convection fan was hitting the unit causing a loud scratching noise. LG sent me a different blade which wasnt even the right one. Had to wait another week to get a new blade sent. Now the machine will not preheat. Does not show an error message. It just shuts off and sings a nice happy tune to let me know the unit is a piece of crap. I would not recommend this stove to anyone. If I could return it I would. Customer care is anxious to help you out by charging you $380.00 and a wait of 2 weeks to repair. I have a family of 4 and without a stove its hard to cook food. They didnt seem to care just offered me another option for 265.00 with the same waiting period.

LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.

I would give 0 stars! I have to get rid of the LG Tromm. It’s only 5 years old. It has bad odor and leaking door gasket. I bought this machine for the capacity and efficiency. Now it is costing me time and money due to the high maintenance of cleaning the washer so it will clean the clothes. The smell is unbearable. It’s got to go.

I replaced a whirlpool microwave with the LG. Had to have repairs after the warranty ran out. The whirlpool was 14 years old and never had a problem. Only thing good about LG service is that the quoted price was what I paid even though they replaced 3 major components. Oh, if you havent had stainless steel appliances, they show every little fingerprint and spatter. If I had known this I would have stayed with painted surfaces.

I have a HE washer that has needed repairs over the years and since I bought it from Sears with the extended warranty, the repairs were covered. Finally it got the death sentence: $2300 to fix, so Sears is giving me replacement value towards a new washer. I was trying to decide between a Kenmore and an LG model. So many of you have talked about getting a Kenmore instead of any other. Thanks for helping me decide to stick with Sears brand. Oh, and I am paying the $$ for the extended warranty on that one, too. Thanks!

We purchased an LG Front Loader True Balance washing machine in MARCH 2016
We purchased an LG Front Loader True Balance washing machine in MARCH 2016 from Lowes. This past week, SEPT 2016, water started leaking from underneath washer. We contacted LG directly, tried some troubleshooting to no avail. LG customer service asked that we email a picture of our receipt; we did. We called again and someone told us that the machine was made in 2014, purchased in 2016 and they will have to get back to us. Crickets. Then, we called Lowes. They seemed to be helpful but determined we live outside the service territory and they would have to send complaint back to LG. **!! We have not heard anything from anyone for 5 days now. No washing machine, 2 school-aged children, one of which has a bug and has been throwing up for the past three days, myself and my husband who will be going to work commando soon. It seems that most products today are just crap. CRAP! Not only are the products crap, but customer service, service repair procedures and overall way of doing business is dead. Off to wash vomit-soaked stuffed animals by hand. As God is my witness, we will never buy another LG product again.

We purchased this product from a big box store around 2007. The ice maker failed after 4 years and flooded our kitchen. I was disappointed in LGs response, and elected to not replace the icemaker due to out of pocket cost and fear of future failure. I figured Id keep the refrigerator anyway, since it was relatively expensive. This past weekend, I went into the kitchen in the morning and smelled burning plastic. I opened the fridge only to find that the temperature control and lights had melted to the point of dropping from the ceiling of the fridge. It was hot inside the fridge to the point where the butter had melted and dripped out of the compartment and down the door. There were visible scorch/melting marks on the light compartment. I think if I had not been home this weekend, it would likely have caught fire. I think this fridge is a fire hazard, and caution anyone with this unit.Being a consumer who doesnt want to waste money, I wanted to rig the machine so that its not a total waste. I screwed the control panel back into the ceiling, and replaced the bulbs with low wattage (and low temperature) LED lights. It seems to be okay for now. I will be replacing this fridge in the near future, and will not buy another LG product.

My refrigerator is only 7 years old and needs repair, after spending $600, still not working. Never had a refrigerator that new go bad with a compressor or anything. I feel that the product is inferior and people should not purchase LG appliances if they are prematurely going bad on major components. The repair did not work, Lost tons of food, costing a fortune to repair. Bad product, recommend people not purchase this brand. Now I am at a loss and have no refrigerator.

I purchased the refrigerator from HH Gregg and within a week or two, we were waking up to water on the floor and ice in the freezer on everything. Also the seal was frozen and the fridge was not keeping the food cold. LG sent out a repairman who was the first of many to tell us LG has a problem with their refrigerators and cant seem to fix it. They have so far replaced left hand refrigerator door 3 or 4 times, also fixed a few other things which did not last. They keep wanting to send out repair guys which means someone has to be here for a 6hr window for him to make it. My time is more valuable to me than that. Thank God HH Gregg is trying to do a buy back so I can get a unit that actually works right. Thank God for honest business that helps the customer.

Purchased LG French door refrigerator 17 months ago. Stopped cooling three weeks ago and finally repairman came today. Compressor is shot. Could take another three weeks before it is repaired. I have been without a refrigerator for three weeks now. Based on other reviews I can expect the compressor to go out again within 12 to 18 months because LG refrigerators are poorly made but they have a high price tag. I am now stuck with this piece of junk.
