LG Dishwasher Model LDTH5554D Error Codes

CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.

CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.

CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.

CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.

CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.

CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).

CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.

CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

We have had to have the fridge serviced several times. One was a recall that I was not aware. When we called for services, tech told us a circuit board went out and it had to be orders, thus await for repairs. It also has a high pitch noise when compressor is running and the front stainless steel is hard to keep clean. We have not been pleased with its performance and it is only 2.5 years old. We would not purchase an LG again.

I bought an LG electric dryer from HH Gregg in November 2013. A month after, one of the cycles stopped working. I called LG many times. They did send out 4 repair men from 2 different companies who replaced various parts, but the issue persists. After the last repair man came out and was unable to do anything, I called LG again hoping theyd replace the unit. They said the repair man determined my dryer was working to specifications and they couldnt do anything further for me. The guy was literally there for 5 minutes! Not sure how he could determine anything - if he stayed through the cycle, hed see my clothes were coming out soaking wet even though I select very dry every time.I wrote to LG Executive Service through their Facebook page and they would also do nothing for me. I called HH Gregg several times and theyve told me they filed a report with their vendor relations but thus far no one has called me back. Im so angry that I spent $900 on a dryer that does not work properly and am even angrier that an LG rep at one point told me to just use a different cycle! Will never buy LG again.

We purchased a LG washing machine from Lowe’s on May 31, 2014. About the second time we used it the clothes were slopping wet but some of the clothes had dry spots on them (both using detergent and fabric softener and without using any as weve had to wash each load 3 times or more to get the washer through a cycle). Lowe’s was nice enough to replace that washing machine with another one just like it. Lowe’s delivered and set up the new LG washing machine within a few days. The very first time we used the new LG washer it was the same problem. Also we got an E6 - clutch error message to unplug and call repairman. Lowe’s had a repairman out but they cant find anything wrong. Calling LG and was informed some needed a new control board (why?? these are brand new machines and why are they selling the machines knowing certain serial numbers have problems)?? We dont have any children at home nor do we do heavy loads nor do we have real dirty greasy clothes. Lowe’s pretty much said weve had this newest machine 8 days and they cant do anything (had it 3 days before using it). LG advised we have to have 3 different service techs out. The first tech said he would check on the parts and call us back but that was 3 days ago and we havent heard from him. We called today and was advised they dont know if the parts were ordered or not as the secretary is out until Monday. Believe me we are slamming LG and are not happy with them at all. Service tech also advised us since its LG it will take longer to get the parts in and this repair might or might not work. Its like let’s try this and let’s try that and maybe something will help. But having two brand new LG washing machines within two weeks and they are both doing the same thing... LG has a problem and looks like its not getting fixed! We are very unhappy and wished we didnt purchased LG - the reviews are totally wrong!

I purchased a LSC27921SW from my local SEARS a few years back. The front left door ice and water dispenser opening area under the drip tray is now rusting under white paint. I spoke to LG corporate office twice and was promised a return email or call which never came. I requested to speak to the corporate manager CEO and I was denied. I have never had a refrigerator do this and of course after the warranty was up I was careless about keeping my receipt handy so now I have nothing but the evidence of the damage to my refrigerator. The refrigerator works good but I cant keep something that looks this tacky in my home. Its embarrassing. Their customer service sucks and I will never buy another LG item again now that I know they dont back their products against manufacturer defects.

We bought our LG Fridge from Home Depot in 2011. Its a French door-freezer on the bottom style. Our entire unit stopped cooling less than 48 hrs ago and we only have a small college dorm type fridge for our back up. Needless to say, we are losing a lot of food. Very unhappy. We live in rural Iowa, so getting a repairman out here may take several days. Not sure yet if were covered or if well have to pay out of pocket for this.

Bought a LG Dishwasher, LG Fridge, and LG range. All look very smart! Dishwasher ran for 6 months, then noise started. Engine issues. Fixed on warranty. Broke again. Advised to replace unit after it failed again after warranty. Fridge plastic rakes broke. Replaced on warranty. Cheaply made poor design. Broke again after warranty. Last night the light/control unit caught fire and melted the inside top of unit. Temp was very hot and filled with smoke. Found out from former service company that there is a call back due to fire hazard. They service all major appliances. They will not service LG. Called LG. They did not offer much until I raised the service bulletin. Range: electronic board fried and was replaced on warranty. Now off warranty, two elements are burned out. Called LG and asked for parts. Refused. They will send a repairman?

This particular appliance collects lint inside the machine and when enough lint is in there, the appliance just stops drying. No error message, no nothing. LG does not document this, provide information on how to repair and could not provide the name of an authorized rep within my state that could repair it. Ive paid Sears twice (once per year for the time Ive owned the thing). LG says that Sears is an authorized service rep but wont pay for the repair.Since the repair is actually a redesign (no external access to where the lint builds up, they are mum. I had terrible time with customer service and after two years, still no resolution.

I purchased this LG French Door 28 cu ft Refrigerator Model # LMX28988SW on 3/10/2011 and was delivered and setup from Best Buy on 3/28/2011. Was told this is the best fridge on the market... It cost almost $2600, but I wanted something that would last. Boy, that sure didnt happen... Not quite 7 years later my freezer and icemaker both stopped working. The ice maker needed replacement just a few months after purchase and now it failed again. Im sure its somehow related to the freezer no longer freezing things. I have an International Harvester refrigerator in my barn that was purchased by my parents in 1950 and it still works fine. How discouraging that this LG fridge has already puked out.

Purchased appliances 4 years ago and since have had several issues which are no longer covered by the 1 year warranty. Refrigerator: The rubber that goes around the refrigerator doors ripped several years after purchase. Gas Range LRG30357ST: plastic covering on the inserts of the burner knobs are faulty. You cannot purchase the plastic insert and each knob is $63.60. Initially, my husband kept switching knobs, and now three of them are broken. Reading the other postings, I realize I am not alone in my complaint. I contacted LG service department and was told no recalls. Sounds like this is a consistent issue which LG is choosing to ignore. I am very dissatisfied and this will be my last LG purchases!!!

We have had our LG Electric Range (LSE4613) since September of 2017. Within this two month period, we have had quite a few incidents when the burners were turned on without us realizing they were on. This last time, we were seconds from significant fire damage to our home. As many others have noted, because the LG stovetops can be turned on by the slightest touch, brush or bump, it is a huge safety hazard. LG needs to develop a fix for this dangerous problem before there is a major recall or lawsuit. There is a lock feature, but its not possible to have it on at all times. The self cleaning feature also seems dangerous. While cleaning, the tile and surrounding granite became too hot to touch, so we turned it off within one hour.

We bought lg model lfx31925st/00 side by side refrigerator for over $2000. From day one ice maker leaked water to floor, ice froze together as a chunk, or didnt work. LG has had repairman out 3 times, and totally replaced ice maker unit, had repairman check water lines, and overall refrigerator condition. I have also paid and had same company out to replace ice maker. Its a defect in the model, we got a recall card months ago, but heard nothing else. Recently new situation, (now out of warranty) glass shelf over drawers, literally blew apart in a million pieces. Well we must have called them a hundred times by now. Now that its out of warranty, they tell us to go online and buy items. They are not going to help us. With all the LG refrigerator issues, any knowledge of this recall? Any suggestions?

There is no other like it. Nothing I wouldnt change anything as it is perfect the way that it is. I always tell my family and friends about this brand so hopefully they will get them one and enjoy as much as I do. Didnt buy an extended warranty because all my old refrigerators have ran for 12 years plus. And LG claims life is good. Well life is not good when your 2 year old refrigerator takes a dump and you just cant have anyone come and repair your refrigerator because LG only sell replacement parts to LG certified technicians. Their list of certified technicians is very limited and have horrible reviews in yelp. This is my first LG appliance and it will be my last.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator in Sept. 2018. It quit cooling in March 2020. Had a service call and was told that the part would be ordered and the technician would come back to install it. Never heard back from the technician so I called the service center. I was told that the part had never been ordered and would be ordered. I never received a call regarding the part so I called again. I was told that the part was discontinued and could no longer be ordered. The person at the call center could not help me. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was asked for proof of my purchase. I sent my Lowes credit card statement showing the purchase date, what was purchased, what store it was purchased from, and the price. The statement had all of the information that was requested from LG.LG came back and asked for the actual receipt. The original receipt was taken by the service technician so that he would have the information to order the part. I cannot get a copy since the Lowes store that I purchased the refrigerator from has since closed. Furthermore, LG has all of my information. When I made the initial service call, they looked up my account with my phone number and told me that they had all of my information. As of today, the BBB has closed my complaint as LG is refusing to repair or replace my refrigerator with the receipt that their technician has. Just infuriates me to be out $2,300.00! Buyer beware! There are several class action suits on the refrigerator that I purchased but LG continues to sell the defective appliance and so does Lowes. They have looked for every outlet to get out of making good on their appliance!

I have a glass top double oven range. I had issue almost from the very beginning. First off the knobs turn too freely and have started a couple small fires due to this. Just having my dog walk by and bump a knob with his tail turns the burners on. The biggest issue Im now facing is that my right hand burners will not turn on unless the left hand burners are also on and even then they only produce high heat. I tried to get my issues addressed while the appliance was still under warranty but LG is horrible to deal with. They requested a copy of my receipt which I provided but unfortunately they dont have people smart enough their to read the receipt where my range is clearly listed. I have given up dealing with them and will end up just replacing this hunk of junk and will never buy another LG and recommend everyone else avoids them too!

LG wont warranty a two-month old $1,100 washer that is having the same UE code and spin/rinse problems that many others are having. The difference is that, in my case, I bought it from a friend that went with a stackable set of machines. And they were saying that LGs warranty is not transferable! They will only stand behind their products if you purchase them new and have the receipt! Pretty sneaky, if you ask me. The service rep actually said, Well, its in the fine print! I will never own anything made by LG again! What a rip off! I will make sure that everyone possibly know about their warranty being highly unfair! If everyone knows how bad it is, nobody in their right mind would buy this LG junk!

I purchased all new LG LRG3093ST range on November 18, 2011 to match all the LG appliances I purchased. Within months the knobs started to crack and the cheap stainless foil laminate started to peel. I contacted LG and was told that they were aware of a problem with the knobs and there was a newer knob available that corrected the problem and they would ship them to me. Though I was skeptical of the information given to me I decided to accept their explanation and so a new set of knobs were shipped. Upon receiving the so called new knobs I closely compared them to the originals and found them to be exactly the same. Not a bit different. I kept the old knobs in use (using extreme caution) until the renovation of my kitchen was completed. Once the new kitchen was completed I exchanged the knobs with the new ones. Guess what? My wife use the oven today to bake and the new knobs started to peel and crack. The stove top and knobs are cleaned every day after use. They were fine yesterday! Its been just 45 days since I replaced them. They are true CRAP! It seems the oven builds up too much heat and that is when it happens. Not only that but there is also a burning smell when this occurs. Well, fortunately I purchased extended protection plans for every LG appliance I purchased from Home Depot. I will be on the phone with them bright and early tomorrow and see what they are going to do. At this point after reading all the complaints about the knob problem I will never ever purchase another LG appliance again nor will I recommend it to anyone either.

I bought a french door model# LFC25776ST less than 4 years ago. Last November the compressor broke, after much runaround and redundant customer service, it was fixed under warranty (I paid labor of course as well as service calls from multiple technicians). LG gave me several names of repair techs they claimed were in my area, none of them were. I ended up finding one that can work on LG brand and convinced LG they were the only one in my area. 6 months later, the freezer and fridge are sitting around 40 degrees. The repair tech replaced the motherboard and fan before concluding the compressor failed again. I called LG and after they insisted on troubleshooting over the phone, they were convinced my fridge was not level, even though I told them a professional had diagnosed it already. I verified with 3 different levels that my fridge was sitting perfectly square. I guess Im just going to have to buy a new compressor every year until the 10 year sealed system warranty is up. I really wish I could talk to someone who actually knows what theyre talking about and cares about the customer. They outsource their call center to India where these people are just reading off a screen. GARBAGE. DONT BUY LG.

Bought my LG fridge about 6 years ago and started having issues 2 months ago. The compressor went out. Luckily that part is still under warranty. However, 2 compressors later LG still has not managed to get the correct part to the Geek Squad to fix my fridge. First compressor they sent ended up being a television stand. Sorry LG I am not in need of a TV stand. Today the 2nd compressor arrived and it is the wrong one. How hard could it possibly be? How much money are these errors costing LG? I know how much they are costing me and it sucks. So now I have to wait 5 more days before they will come back to my house. I assure you this will be the last LG product I will buy.

First, we purchase this refrigerator IMXS30776D is 2016. This refrigerator is barely three years old and $2800.00. This refrigerator has had all part replaced (the compressor twice). The technicians from A&E Factory Service deemed our refrigerator non-repairable. We called LG to see if we could get a replacement or refund. They said they needed information from the technician at A&E to confirm our refrigerator is non-repairable. Three weeks later, we have been passed back and forth between LG, SEARS the A&E. We made another attempted today to find out a status and were passed to SEARS Warranties department. They pretty much told us, No we are not replacing or refunding the refrigerator. I will not buy another LG refrigerator or any other product that LG makes. I will also pass on my experience to everyone I know and those I see shopping for refrigerators (Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot which I frequently shop). Stay away from LG refrigerators!!!!

I just finished sorting socks and underwear that I washed today. Once again I am so angry that I purchased a LG top load washer. It has been a disappointment since the beginning. Today I found a pair of underwear that were ripped and tore and a sock that too was ripped and tore. Both had marks of rust on them also. This along with the fact that in order to get whites clean and jeans and work clothes I have to set the washer on SOAK, and push the button twice for extra rinse and a load of clothes usually takes anywhere from 2hrs - 2hr:20min. In the past I had taken jeans out of the washer after a normal wash cycle to hang on the line and there was still dry dirt in the creases. The main reason for purchasing this machine was because of its large capacity. Well that did me no good at all.I had a tech come out to check the machine after complaining to the manufacturer, and he quizzed me on the type of laundry detergent etc etc to find out I was doing everything right. I also was told to weigh my loads and not to wash more than 10-13 pounds at a time, Oh my goodness. Yet that did not help either. I do not recommend this machine. Worst washing machine I ever Owned!!!

She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

Clothes on top stay in top & our clothes doesnt get clean.I sweat a lot & its bad when you put clothes on that smell like they already been worn for three days. My daughter works in a factory & her pants always look dirty with grease. I wash my clothes I wash small loads, with color bleach, Biz stain & odor eliminator, Downy with odor defence, & Wisk deep clean detergent & Downy fabric softener on stain care option & prewash. It never puts enough water to cover the clothes even when we use the extra water feature. Worst purchase we have ever made. I cant say this enough...dont waste your money.

Bought an LG suite of appliances for the kitchen remodel. Every piece except the microwave has had to be serviced right after the warranty expired. The dishwasher drain stopped functioning, the freezer drawer would not stay on the tracks, and the oven’s control panel got super hot when baking and after a couple of calls to troubleshoot that never fixed it, I tried to run a self-clean and the control panel got so hot it fried the oven completely and it went black and stayed locked. Been waiting two weeks for extended warranty to send out a repair guy. A couple of boxes of parts was mailed to me but still no idea when the repair will take place. Two weeks and counting with no stove/oven is terrible!

Purchased our LG refrigerator 2015. Water has dropped from the water dispenser since day one! A month ago they replaced the compressor and it still is having issues - we can’t put groceries away without losing coldness in the freezer - we can’t clean it without losing coldness in the freezer to the point the ice pops go soft. We are so frustrated with this product - our last fridge last 20 years old. It never had an issue. We are EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this product and would never suggest it to anyone - oh and did I mention we had to lose a day of pay for someone to come and fix it???? Beware of the compressor issue obviously from every review.

I ordered a French door model fridge from Home Depot that had a dent in the door upon arrival. Delivery techs called to get door replaced. Contracted appliance company was never available to schedule repair service so I requested different company. I called customer service no less than 15 times and had the second appliance company have to come 3 times before resolving the door issue that took 15 minutes to install. Customer service is farmed out to India, and there is no connectivity or standard between departments. I should have never had to call, be told I would have to pay for the door or any of the hours of nonsense I had to endure for a product that should have been in good shape to begin with when delivered. Never again will I order another LG product due to the customer service nightmare.

Inferior products. I purchased an LG fridge model GW-621RW on October 2003. Immediately after purchase I had an odor from the fridge when opening the door. The service person came out on two occasions to clean the drainage part. He said probably packing material was jammed somewhere inside the body of the fridge. For the past few months I have had a problem with water collecting on the inside bottom of the fridge. I have had a service man out twice to clear the drainage system at a large cost to me and it has still not fixed the problem. The cause, according to the service man, is that the drainage pan behind the back panel is rusting and the paint chips are causing the drainage system to block, in turn causing the water to drain into the inside of the fridge. I would like to know why would LG paint something that is concealed and be a problem down the road. Also, I do agree with the other reviews. I will never recommend an LG product; in fact, I will make a point of telling people of my experience and the terrible customer service when speaking with LG customer service people. Also, the plastic on the lower vegetable and fruit draws are broken off, which happened pretty soon after purchase. The fridge is still not working properly. Water is always over the kitchen floor. I will probably end up dumping it with all the other garbage.

I was comparing prices and online reviews and decided to go with LG. They had the best prices for the features I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations and I would recommend the fridge to others. I never had to have any repairs or service done on the fridge. The LG refrigerator had a lot of space for the food I needed to keep for a large family and lasted a long time. It also had a nice ice maker and was energy efficient. I only bought a new LG fridge because I was remodeling my kitchen and the fridge no longer matched with the updates. It was reliable and held up to the brands claims. Maybe one thing that the LG company could improve on is warranty length on the product.

Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.

We purchased the LG washing machine and dryer from Spencers. I am dissatisfied with our salesman in that he should have made us aware that this washer is a large capacity machine with no capability to wash smaller loads. They want you to buy another machine to sit underneath the main washer. The dryer is a mess. I spent $1,000 for a dryer that doesnt sense the dryness of sheets!!! It shuts off early leaving the corners of the sheets wet. I called the technician who said thats the way it is and I should use the manual dry time and estimate how long it needs to dry completely... Really... Really... thats the way dryers operated in 1958! Dont waste your money on this piece of junk.

We have had 3 tech come in March to service our fridge on 3 separate occasions in order to evaluate our fridge. Each one said that our fridge just needed a software update. We have asked about getting our compressor replaced or them just replacing our unit and each time they refused because the techs state that the problem is the software. Its now June and our fridge just stopped working again today. Ive been on the phone for over an hour to speak with a manager. Im so frustrated with the amount of time and money that we have wasted with this product and company. All I want now is my money back for the product but they are telling me the same tech has to come out and do an evaluation of our fridge again! Never ever purchase an LG refrigerator. Bought an LG LMXS30076S refrigerator July 2016 and Sept. 2017 everything suddenly thawed out. Called LG several times and they said it would be on me since I didnt buy the extended warranty. They sent me the # for the 1 and only place that handles their repairs within 60 miles of me. I called them and they didnt even want to deal with my refrigerator since they said they always have issues getting LG to reimburse or pay them for parts and service. Id have to pay $89 to just have someone come out to diagnose. They came a week later and said all the Freon leaked out and I would need to have the entire cooling unit rebuilt. It would cost $1200 in parts alone! I called the store I bought this from and they worked with LG and they said they would cover it (how nice of them).Parts came in 2 weeks later, I took the day off to wait for the repair guy. He worked on it for an hour and ran into an issue reaching a part in the unit that he needed to access. He called LG and asked how to problem solve this, they told him to cut it apart and solder it after installing. He asked who would be responsible if he did this and further damaged the unit. They said it was his problem and hung up on him. LG you should be ashamed of whoever you have employed to handle these calls. And you have repair contracts with technicians you treat like crap! Useless junk refrigerator and Im stuck with it? I think a class action lawsuit is in order.

I purchased LG washer and dryer (WM8100HVA, DLGX8101V) at the end of November 2019. On Dec 7 I called LG warranty center and report problem with Dryer. Because Covid 19 the past two weeks I was not able to contact LG center. When I was able connected somebody on the line (person from Philippines) inform me my warranty expire a few day ago and they can send tech ($ 125 charge in advance no refundable for evaluation and the tech will quote the final cost of the repair). Is this is the LG policy to respond to customer during this Covid 19 when we try protect each others? (I dont wanted tech coming to my house and get infected.) After simple troubleshooting I realize the problem is electronic board EBR 765 195 14 which I ordered at Searsparts.com for $ 152. I see online customers review. This is a systematic problem with these types of LG dryer. The electronic boards are creating issues. Is the LG planning to recall this product?

We purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator in 2011. The model was on sale. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here before purchasing! The ice maker often sticks (the water position). In the cube position we most often get crushed ice and few cubes. I find access to the on/off switch for the ice maker very inconvenient; a drawer - on which we keep ice cream containers - must be removed to reach the switch.. an awkward arrangement. And if we remove the ice drawer, getting the metal rod that protrudes from the back into the correct place can be difficult. Our experience hasnt been nearly as bad as many listed here, but I definitely would not recommend the LG to anyone.

I purchased LGLDT5678SS dishwasher in April. The dishwasher has a very annoying whistling sound during the fan/drying cycle which I reported to LG immediately. LG sent CVS Appliance repair to correct the problem. They replaced the fan; the whistling continued. I was told by their rep that it was probably a design/manufacturing flaw. I have called LG multiple times. I was told today by a supervisor that only TCC could authorize a replacement or refund, whoever that is. Do not buy this dishwasher. LG reps give you a constant runaround and the supervisor basically said LG would do nothing to correct or fix this. She put another work order in to CVS; their rep Randy called and said he had already repaired the dishwasher and that I should get another service company to come out. I have reached out to Ferguson, the company we purchased the DW from, they are my last hope. I cannot and will not live with this annoying noise which can be heard throughout my home, not just in the kitchen.

My family member purchased this brand new refrigerator and in six months the ice machine was not working. We called LG for service and their diagnostic testing resolution was to not open the refrigerator door too often. We responded that opening the doors should not cause the ice machine to malfunction. We reset it; and eight months later the compressor goes. This thing is a lemon. What saved us from further expenses is the fact we had purchased the extended warranty. We did lose food and LG reimbursed us up to $300.00 for the loss. There is no way that a $4000.00 fridge should be breaking down this fast. We have had models costing far less (hundreds) that has lasted 15-20 years: the repair man stated these smart models will only be lasting 6-8 years. Ours hasnt lasted six months to just over a year. My advise, keep it simple, and avoid LG products. There was a local news story that LG contracts out the parts production to many different smaller companies all over the world, so they cant be blamed for their lemons. One must sue the parts company.

My LG refrigerator (Model: LFX25971ST) is not cooling. I bought an LG stainless steel fridge about three years ago. Last night, water started leaking from the ice maker on the door. Later, I found out that the water was leaking because the fridge was no longer cooling the upper part, nor freezing the freezer compartment.I called LG Customer Service to complain, but all I received was Im sorry. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold for over 15 minutes. The supervisor said that he would look into approving reimbursement for parts, but not for labor (no promises). I now have to wait until Monday (now Saturday) to get a reply. If I went to an authorized repairman prior to receiving a reply, then they will not cover anything. So, do I wait three days for a possible partial covered repair (and not have a fridge) or do I call a repairman today? By the way, this is the second major repair to my fridge in the last few months. The first came when the water line (on the fridge, not the connection to the house) cracked and leaked behind the fridge, causing considerable damage to my floor and the ceiling in the basement. My insurance company was involved and asked for the cracked tube after I had it replaced. They said that they would consider legal actions to recover the insurance claim.

Our refrigerator freezer completely died on Saturday, April 25, 2020. I contacted LG on Monday, April 27 and reported the problem. They had me go through the Smart diagnosis function, as well as the reset function and neither worked. They confirmed that there was a full warranty on both parts and labor, however they did not have a certified technician in my area (even though we live close to the Phoenix metropolitan area) so they would be unable to provide one. They indicated we could try to find one ourselves. We did find one that would service our refrigerator and asked the customer service to provide an “LOA” ( Letter of Authorization) which they indicated they would issue. After finding out from the service people that they did not receive the LOA, we contacted LG again and they indicated that they sent it. When we asked them Email it again while we were waiting on the phone, they indicated that they did. Again the service company said they never received it. We asked LG to send us a copy of the order and they said they would not do so. We finally got them to set up a service call for Wednesday, May 6. We ask them for the name of the service company, and still have yet to receive a response. Since that means almost 10 days with no refrigerator, we are extremely frustrated with LG.

We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? Here is what I did about my problem. I went to Home Depot and bought what is called a Mini-Rester - $10.83 - one each for hot and cold. This is a device that attaches between your water lines and the washer. It has a tube with air in it. When the water shuts off abruptly the air in the tube takes the shock and drastically reduces the water hammer. If you have high water pressure as I do you will need these. You may have to adjust the water down some through the knob on the wall for both hot and cold but eventually you can find a happy medium.

Model WT4970CW LG WaveForce True Balance. Just read several complaints about the LG washing machine. Bought in June 2013 from Best Buy and has consistently had an EU error on more than off. Yes I put up with it for this long but when I went to ConsumerAffairs and saw all the complaints on this model. I called LG who promptly told me it was out of warranty and I could buy a one year warranty for $349.00 or a 60 day warranty for $224.00. After reading the continuing problems after repair, we are going to put this money into a new washer. Im going back to Maytag. Had it for over 15 years and never a problem!!! I agree LG=lousy garbage. This appliance needs to be taken off the market!!!

This washer and dryer were rated about as well as any, so it was kind of a tossup what to get. You are supposed to use TUB CLEAN cycle monthly or more often (This on a front loader that is supposed to SAVE water) and after every time you use the machine you are supposed to wipe around the 2 gaskets that stay wet. If you dont, and even if you do this creates odors, sometimes even if youre careful to wipe all around. Wiping the gaskets down requires getting on the floor and going into the tight crevices with a rag all around. Also, you are supposed to frequently empty the drain at bottom and clean out the filter. This also requires sitting/crouching on floor and the first few times I had water all over the floor and under washer. Very impractical. So far it hasnt had repairs (2 years old) but is noisier over time and thumps around a lot on spin cycle. Poor design all around.

I bought my refrigerator in November of 2012. It worked fine until it broke down a couple of weeks ago. I call LG the parts is under warranty and they referred me to one of their service tech. Long story short the tech wanted to charge 850.00 labor, LG had said 200 to 250 for labor on their website. I call back LG and told them about the misleading information on their website. 850.00 on a 4 years old refrigerator I can get a new and better brand for 1300.00. I hate LG.

This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesnt have exactly the same weight items in it. You cant wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Dont buy this washer.

We purchased a LG Top Load Washer WT1501C the end of November 2015. However during a five months period our clothes would be left with stains and white streaks on our clothes. During this time prior with followed the manufacturers instructions to the letter with no improvement. A service technician identified that lack of sufficient water as caused by a malfunction part. A request was submitted for a new part, none received, a request for washer requested. Both were denied by the head office technical team, who indicated it was us the consumer were doing something wrong and would send another service technician to investigate. The end result is a expensive washer that does not work and LG not wanting to honour its warranty. BUYER BEWARE. SUGGEST DIFFERENT COMPANY.

My LG refrigerator was purchased less than 5 years ago and it’s now non-operational. On 6/29/2013, everything was fine. About 12 noon, and returning from our weekly grocery shopping, we discovered that the lighting in the refrigerator was no longer working. We then noticed moisture all around the top of the doors and upon further checking, discovered the refrigerator was no longer working. It is over 80 humid degrees outside and a Saturday. It is our belief that the circuit board needs to be replaced. There were no signs whatsoever that something might be going wrong. It is my understanding that LG refrigerators should only be worked on by an LG trained repair person. We are not very happy.

In April 2015 I purchased an LG refrigerator model # LF S29766S from Bestbuy in Garden City, New York. On June 22, 2018 I noticed that everything in freezer was defrosted. Problem was reported to LG who referred me to Bestbuy who I had purchased 5 years warranty with. After waiting for nearly one week, serviceman assessed refrigerator and indicated that a new compressor was needed. After speaking to various people, I learned that there have been problems with LG refrigerators. If so many people are having problems, LG refrigerators should be banned.

Top of the line LG purchased in Spring 2018. Was expensive. Control panel uses touchpads on hard plastic service which also serves as the door handle. We bought a 2 year extended warranty. The new vertical cracks cover the control touch pads, and will eventually render the dishwasher inoperative. Of course, it is considered normal wear and tear, and not covered by warranty. But, for $240 plus $250 flat rate service charge, I can get it replaced. How long before it cracks again? What a piece of junk. Do not ever buy a dishwasher that has flimsy handles which house the controls....

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 2015, within one year the ice maker died. This is after they delivered it and set it up wrong and flooded my house doing a significant amount of water damage (weve paid for everything out of pocket). Now two years later, the compressor died. We have been trying since November to find a LG service provider in our area to fix it. Needless to say a month later LG tells us to find our own repairman and they will cover the part. This refrigerator is in my rental property and we had to purchase a second refrigerator for the tenants because its taken LG so much time to look for a service provider. We paid $2950 for the fridge, $200 for the ice maker, $11,000 in damages from the improper hookup, $800 for a second fridge, and now it will be $500 for the repairs (not including the $400 compressor). All these reviews are 100% accurate, stay away from LG products!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator From Lowe’s on September 13, 2017. I even purchased the extended warranty. With that said I am unable to get ANY assistance!! My refrigerator broke, for the second time, on June 27, 2019. I was instructed to call the service contractor per my warranty. They sent a repair person out BUT for the compressor to be repaired, I would have to wait 4 weeks... No offer of sending me a replacement to use only rent something and you will be reimbursed. I sent a letter to the local LG rep for guidance and support but he never responded. Long story short, the repair person came yesterday and said “I did the best I could but they need to replace your refrigerator!” He said it would take a couple of hours to cool but it never did. I am beyond unhappy! To make matters worse I called the 24 hour customer service number and they hung up and I have not been able to get through again. Invoice # **. Store # 0532. Model # LMXC23796S. Warranty # **. THIS HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE!!! I paid over $3000 for a product that does not work and I am unable to get assistance!

2 yr old LG French door LMX31985ST/0. Repaired at 16 months (defrost grill in freezer) $300. Repaired at 28 months 4x still not working (1/4/16 to today 2/12/16) error code F ds. LGs response to us was reset the fridge using the breaker from the electrical service box). We did and have had to do for 6 weeks. Repair company replaced at our expense: freezer defrost sensor $175 parts/labor. Main board parts and labor $175. Sensor for fridge $300 parts and labor. So after paying $950 in repairs over the course of 1 year and 1 month the fridge today was dripping water on the floor from the ice maker which we find is NOT WORKING now. No error code even on the fridge!! The fridge is not cooling, the ice maker is not working, and the freezer has thawed everything overnight (so the defrost is stuck on??) So 4 repairs and it is still not working, in fact it is ON but NOT WORKING! LG will do NOTHING like this has never happened before??? So after spending $950 for repairs and $3300 for the fridge in (Oct 2013) we have a piece of junk!

I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. The problem with that is, I don’t want another LG because of the chance of breaking and going through all of this AGAIN! Also, what if I get stuck and I am then $600 down the drains. The customer service is in Hong Kong and I had a difficult time communicating. #NEVERLG!

Bought an LG French door model LFX25973ST/00 refrigerator from Sears. Right after its out of warranty we were getting water on the floor from the left-side door each time we opened the door. I replaced the door ice-maker parts (all of them) and the gaskets. I also balanced the doors again (only slightly out of balance). More water. Called LG and they told me to replace the gaskets and balance the door. Um, that didnt work. Try calling a repair service. I called a few appliance repair places and only one still works on LG products. He stated that LG sucks. He recommended replacing the gaskets which I already did. He said, you just have to live with it or get a new refrigerator. LG = Life is Good?? More like LG = Lame Grifters. Well, Im trying gaskets one more time before I take this out and use it for target practice.

Purchase Lg Range at best buy in Oct. 2013 with two year warranty. Range broke, it’s over two weeks- still waiting to be repaired. Made an appointment with LG Customer care Monday. Technician came out Thursday, claimed the parts that was sent to my house by customer care were wrong, so he ordered the part using his cell phone and he gave us time and day that he will be back Saturday same week between 11:00 am to 1:00pm. We waited and he didnt call us. We called him back after 1pm. He didnt get the part. Made another appointment with him, we said Monday morning we’re at home. We go to tampa to work from Monday afternoon and be back Wednesday night, he said available to come Tuesday. We have to work so made arrangement for him to come on Thursday. He said okay, Thursday Jan. 22, between 12:00-1:30. We waited - no calls so we called him back after 1:00. He said “I thought it was done”, we asked “did you get the parts you needed?” He said “yes”, so why he said he thought it was done if he still has the part with him. He said that we did not call LG customer service to make an appointment for him to come, I said: “You gave me a time and date that you will come out Thursday between 12:00 and 1:30pm, why do I need to call LG to make an appointment if you made an arrangement to come?” So, I called LG customer care again and spoke with RJ and advise me that I dont have to call him back because he will be sure that he will call us (Bill the technician) to call us back. Waited again - no call from him so, I called LG back again and spoke with Kyle - couldnt help me, transfer me to Willie, the supervisor, and he said that the LG policy is for the customers to call back to make an appointment AGAIN, if the technician couldnt make it again, and to make another claim to have the stove fix. And then I was transferred to LG Premier Care, spoke with Carnecsha and I told her I will file complaint and Ill call Consumer Advocate to complain. She told me I couldnt do and I told her “why not, we’ve been pushed run around, as a consumer we have rights, this is our life, we bought the warranty as we were told by sales people.” And then she transferred me to Best Buy to the Geek squad who carries the warranty that we bought, and then transferred again to LG to make another arrangement for technician to come out.

Cooling stopped working, freezer stopping working, ice cubes stored in the door melted and ran through the door and all over my floor. My freezer drawer was completely full and all frozen food unthawed, what a mess! All contents of the main refrigerator had to be thrown out. Services calls, replacing parts and replacing the lost food turns into an expensive venture. Extremely disappointed that manufacturers are unable to produce quality appliances in todays world. On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

Unit started icing inside and water inside as well, after several (self do it yourself) defrosting, problem continued. Called LG again and they said they could not take care of it, that I needed to make appointment with them to have it fixed. I told them I would take the frig/unit and drop it in front of the store explaining to everyone what was wrong with it and worthless it was. They got connected online and reset it and it worked fine for a while. Now its doing it again. All of their units are worthless even their cell V10 & V20, their dishwasher its also another piece of crap. NEVER AGAIN will I ever buy LG. So far stove/oven and microwave works... but give it time. BTW, units are less than three years old and Im hardly ever home to use them, so it should only be about 6 months worth of use. Thank God I didnt buy the washer and dryer from them.

We purchased a brand new LG Refrigerator LFX33975 fall of 2013 prior to moving into our new home. In less than a year 1/2, we noticed the bottom of the left side door beginning to rust on the bottom side. Directly below the ICE/WATER dispenser due to a manufacturers leaking problem. We called LGs warranty department and they sent an LG specialist to come out and take a look at our complaint. He determined that there was a leak caused by the ice and water dispenser. The leak was due to a manufacturers default. Because the dispenser should have never leaked out into the bottom of the door frame which caused the rust. The LG specialist said he would have to order a new door and a new ice maker that were shipped directly to our home. He then called to find out if both parts had been delivered and we told him yes. We then arranged an appointment for him to come out and replace these parts. Now they want us to be responsible for the repair cost of $224.70 that they should have come out and repaired at their cost. We are even being harassed by a collection agency which even sent us a letter demanding payment. Such an expensive fridge should not have this problem especially being just over one year of owning this fridge. I am sure that there are many disappointed customers dealing with the same manufacturers defect. They deserve to have a class action suit put on them. If LG is harassing us like this I can just imagine how awful they are to others. I will never again buy any LG products in the future!!! WE ARE NOT PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!!

Now, the 90-day warranty has passed and I do not know what I can do to get this lemon of an appliance replaced. Well LG you have a lot on your plate right now and thousands of consumers without refrigerators due to your faulty compressor problems. Mine has been out since last Wednesday and LG cannot find anyone to service their product even their LG technicians aren’t available. Living out of 3 coolers and had to buy a box freezer. Now on my way to buy a used refrigerator because not knowing how long this issue is going to take! Was reassured that I would be reimbursed for buying the box freezer, food spoilage and old refrigerator. My case was sent to regional manager and being review while being told I’d be called back in 3 to 5 business days with a resolution to replace or give me my money back if I pass the review and if they cannot find anyone to come out and fix it. I don’t want to ever own another LG product let alone have them come out and replace the compressor with the same faulty issues to have it break down again in which it would. I also have a 1,000 dollar LG dishwasher and 6 months ago the top digital touch board went out! 1 year later! They replaced that and praying it doesn’t go out again. So now playing the waiting game. Don’t buy LG. Appliances will never be made the same way that they were years ago in the 70’s and 80’s to last a lifetime. I have reviewed just about every brand out there and all I find is garbage reviews!! What the hell can you buy that’s reliable anymore!

I bought an LG washer (model WT5101HW) on November 14, 2011. It blew up on April 21, 2012. What I meant by blew up is it spent itself into self-destruction. I wish we could download pictures to this site. The damage is not repairable. The plastic supports that the tub was connected to are all busted, and the tub is sitting in the bottom of the machine. The frame is bent. The top is disconnected from the base. There is a dent in the wall on both sides of the machine. Im asking for payment for repairs to the wall. I sent pictures of the destruction with my claim, but Im waiting for a tech to come take a look at LGs request. Im not happy that its going to take a week for the tech to come and confirm that the washer is not repairable. The noise shook us up really bad. We still have not fully recovered from the shock.

The LG over-the-range microwave MODEL LMV1683ST caught on fire. This appliance was manufactured in December 2014 and I purchased it at Lowes in March 2015. On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. I have a now ten-year old LMX25964 ST Refrigerator made by LG. It is a French door version with two pullout freezers underneath. It has worked flawlessly with one exception. The hinge wore out on the right side. Theres just a piece of Delrin plastic that rides on the hinge. I started seeing powder from the metal grinding for like two years before I realized what was going on. Maybe I put too much weight on that door. I now store the milk on the solid shelf off the door. It cost me about an hour looking at YouTube to figure out how to fix it and around $20 in parts. The fix process went surprisingly well. I had predicted a disaster. Door came off easily as did the old hinge. I draped a towel in front while the power was off to retain the cool. In the old days we used to put the old fridge out in the garage after the remodel where it cooled beer for 20 more years. Those days are gone. I have a LG washer dryer combo that was very high end at the time of purchase. They have performed perfectly for ten years now. My LG dishwasher went bad two months after the warranty ran out. I took it apart, took one look and put it back together. Whatever I did it must have reset the circuit board or something. Works fine now.

When it came time for the dryer after the installation, the dryer started giving errors about the ducks being blocked. First checked the actual installed duck work, that didnt help; then removed the dryer from atop the washer and removed the exhaust altogether, this also did not remove the issue. Started contacting the LG support, after some back and forth; reset the machine a couple of times and this also caused no breakthrough. They scheduled a technician to come in 3 days from then. The day the service was supposed to be done, I took a day off work and had a 2 hr time slot. The time slot came and when with no technician. Ive contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didnt even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, Im two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who dont really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.

For the last year I have spent $$ and time on repairing this machine multiple times from the drain pump to a board and now it is leaking water... We have only had it for 6 years... I called LG for support and it was a waste of my time... They couldnt help me, I knew more about my washer than the technician did. I have NO faith in LG and hesitant to ever purchase any of their products again!
