We bought an LG washer one year ago. It started showing an error code last month. I called them, and the code is undiagnosable. For more than 4 weeks, I have been fighting the customer service department, including the team in Philippines and USA. They have absolutely zero empathy and concern for the customer. They have not been able to get my issue fixed at all. And now I am fighting with them about replacement. They seem to have a 1000 different departments for everything, and seem to be extremely poor at coordinating. Also, everything that they tell you...is pretty much a lie!! They go back on it all the time. USA team seems to be even more horrible than the Philippines team!! SO, if your appliance goes bad, you should be ready for a fight and harassment. Not to mention, take a few days/weeks off, apply for FMLA!!! You will need all your day and your emotional and mental energy to get through this.

Bought 2 LG French door refrigerators in January 2017. Paid about 3 grand each. April 2019 1 of the fridges stopped cooling. Called LG. Repairman came out and said compressor not working. He returned a week later. Replaced compressor. 4 days later not cooling again. Everything melted, water on wood floors. He said motherboard not working. Waited 1 week with a broken fridge and motherboard replaced. 4 days later found water on ground again. Everything melted. Called again and said will change out compressor again. Need to wait 1 week again. 4 days later broken again which is tonight. This should be illegal. Are they going to do this for next couple of yrs until warranty is expired? In meantime we have to suffer with a broken fridge every week? Anyone with suggestions on how to approach? I wrote complaint to BBB also. Now we have to call LG tomorrow to get repairman out again. This will be 4th visit for same problem.

Noticed rust around dispenser drawer and filter door. There has been no misuse or spillage, this seems to be happening due to over sloshing as dispenser is emptying during wash cycle. Also we saw on other reviews where this is happening to other washer brands as well and I would agree with one service man’s opinion that cutting corners on paint seems to be the problem as the paint is extremely thin on this machine. This is clearly obvious as the area where the problem occurred had to be sanded in order to stop the rust from running down the face of the machine and spreading rust all over my floor. I paid a huge amount of money for this machine and the matching dryer and pedestals when we remodeled our home, I wanted high-end look for the resale of our home. We have sold our home and personally I will not buy a new set for the home we are building even though I loved the performance of the machines, too bad they ruined their wonderful products by cutting corners on a simple thing like paint. News flash LG, a cheapskate in your company is going to ruin your product’s name! Shame on you for charging a high quality price for a great machine only just to ruin it and anger the consumers by screwing them over paint.

LG will not stand behind their product. I purchased this $1,595.81 refrigerator with an extended warranty 5 years ago. In all fairness the warranty expired 4 months ago but I found out from the repair man that this was a bad model that is no longer made by LG. There is a leak in the Sealed System which is built into the chassis. LG designed a poor product. I asked for some type (any type) of a credit toward a new refrigerator. Ive never had a refrigerator (with repairs) that lasted less than 20 years. A product that last 5 years is unacceptable. Especially if was due to poor design on LGs part. I currently also have an LG Microwave, Dishwasher. Bottom line is due to poor service they have lost a customer for life.

Two years ago, my wife and I purchased an LG 7957295 French Door refrigerator. Its now 2020 and the compressor is shot. Sears wants $1000 to repair it or will give me a %50 discount if I pay $50 ($600 per year) for an appliance (all) warranty. I could have purchased a $3000 refrigerator for that amount of money. I checked and sure enough the LGs are having problems with their linear compressors I am told. The reviews say it and the repairmen are saying it. Yet, LG continues to sell them. Last, we have had numerous problems with this refrigerator from the start, loud auger sound in back, dents if you look at it, fingerprint resistant is anything but. I am heading out to buy a new refrigerator since I dont want any more problems with this item.

Have had this washer/dryer for close to 10 years. Both have worked well. We have not had any mechanical issues. Washer has done a great job. I would recommend this brand to others. Both units are front loaders. The drums are large which I believe helps circulate the clothes to do a better job of cleaning.

I purchased all brand new LG appliances when we bought a new (to us) home four years ago. In the past four years I have replaced the washer door 3 times due to cracked Lexan plastic washer door covers. I just noticed the dryer door is cracking. These cracks originate at the pull open handle and increase in length until the Lexan comes apart in ones hand. I have emailed LG US customer support several time and they simply tell me to call a service provider. Suffice to say I will not be buying anything else from LG.

June 2011, we decided to replace our kitchen appliances. Not because our 27 year old Kitchen Aids did not work, but that they looked very outdated. After very much research, we decided on the LG 4 door LMX 28994 refrigerator with the Converta drawer, the LDF 7932 Dishwasher, and the LMS 2073 Microwave Oven. We choose to purchase a GE Monogram dual fuel range rather than an LG at that same time. Our decisions were carefully researched, and the choices made not only based on those particular appliances features, but also upon the then available reviews. 10 months later, we woke to find the food in our fridge warm and spoiled, and our dishwasher no longer working. April 2012, LG replaced our refrigerator, and when I asked if a new warranty would take effect, was advised by LG that they would only extend our existing fridge warranty by 3 months. I asked why? It was a brand new refrigerator... should it not have a one year warranty? Our dishwasher motor was replaced by LG that same month. 3 months later, our microwave started to malfunction, just after it was out of warranty. We did not purchase an extended warranty for the Microwave, but did purchase extended warranties for the refrigerator and dishwasher. Currently we once again have a refrigerator that requires servicing. Its making so much noise that it wakes us in the middle of the night, and our cheeses are going soft, and milk is warm. The service tech cant seem to decide if its the fan or the compressor. Our hope is that this issue is resolved before our extended warranty is up in June 2016, which by the way, is the only right thing we did when we chose to purchase LG appliances. We should have gone with all GE Monogram, since we have not had any trouble at all with our GE range. Our dishwasher has the worst designed racks weve ever seen, and we are now having to pre-rinse our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. Ahhh modern technology, got to love it. I wonder if Mr. Seong-Jin Jo, President and CEO for LG Appliance Company is aware of, or even cares about the multitude of dissatisfied customers LG appliance has. They may be trying too hard with their Innovation, sending their products out in the market before they have proven their reliability. After spending almost $4,000.00 to purchase our fridge, $1,500 on our dishwasher, and almost $500.00 on our microwave, one would hope that they would last more than a year or two. Never again would we buy LG anything.

What a horrible product! The oven is completely uneven, the warming drawer doesnt warm and worst of all, the core inside the knobs keep breaking. They are made of a very poor plastic and now I find out they are 69.00 US a pop!! (I am Canadian so right now 100.00 x 5 knobs.) Cheaper to buy a new stove!!! I have asked just for the cores, but of course, they only sell the knob and thus I throw more LG crap into landfill. I have tried to talk to management but all I get is the poor woman who answers the phone to read to me their no response! I will never buy LG again! This was a 2000.00 investment for my new kitchen - the worst worst purchase ever!

Our LG dishwasher was installed 9 months ago and white marks (not water marks) are appearing at the top of the panel and on the handle. We only use stainless steel cleaner and are not able to remove the marks as it appears the finish is coming off. One of the marks on the handle is the size of a quarter. LG is unable to help as its a cosmetic issue. Is anyone having problems with the finish on their dishwasher? Wed like to determine whats causing the problem to avoid further marks. I hate to see what the dishwasher is going to look like in 2 years...

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

We own a french door LG with Ice in the door. The box worked flawlessly for the first two years. Since then it has been nothing but a long effort to get the ice maker to work. There have been no less than 10 service calls trying to fix the ice maker. They replaced PC boards, ice makers, ice dispensers etc etc. The final fix was a motherboard, ice controller board and a new door. This repair lasted about 3 weeks and then the box quit making cold and we lost all the food. The service company that provided the repairs was competent enough, but the box is just a piece of junk. We had a terrible time just getting repair service for the last failure. According to our service contract we should have been given a new box after the third repair. I have called them time and again and cannot get them to move on replacing the box. I cannot tell you how utterly frustrating it has been to get this box repaired. We were given a loaner box from Home depot after the LG quit entirely. The box is not working and we still have the loaner from Home Depot. Hurrah, for Home Depot. My only words for anyone who buys an LG is you better have another fridge and you better buy a good service contract.. Forget about an ice maker, they just dont work.

LRG 3081ST gas stove - My first problem was that Best Buy never warned me that to convert this stove to propane was going to cost close to $300.00. The next problem was as soon as I started to use the product, the fan in the convection oven does not work most of the time, the controls are very difficult to use and very confusing, one of the burners does not work! After contacting Best Buy they told me I had to call LG, which I did. After many tries and disconnected calls I finally reached a person and he reluctantly set up an appointment with a local repair shop, and although she agreed the fan should work better but after calling LG they said it was normal and there was nothing she could do. But they did agree it probably should have a new burner but that is still on order. The stove is basically a cheap POS. I would not recommend anyone to buy this model.

We have had an LG refrigerator (Model FX25960ST) for 7-8 years. In that time I have had to replace the ice maker twice. The light cover partially melted and will no longer stay in place. Yesterday we noticed the hardwood floor on the other side of the wall from unit starting to buckle. I pulled the refrigerator out and found a half inch split in the water line on the back of the refrigerator. Water shot out when it made ice. It is going to cost us $$$ to fix hardwood floor (and replace refrigerator).

LG front-load Tromm washer is the biggest waste of good money a home owner
LG front-load Tromm washer is the biggest waste of good money a home owner can spend. In 2006, company said we were using too much laundry soap so we cut back to 1/4 of the recommended amount from 1/2--no difference. The mold continued to grow despite bleaching, drying, etc. I gave up! LG sucks. Rubber ring is stained with black mold, all it does now is hold up the in efficient dryer.I am now using my old Kenmore top loader that is in the garage hooked up to laundry sink.

I have had this front load washer about 5 years. Have had to replace the drain pump and the water mixing valve already. We always leave the door open for a few hours after each wash to dry the front seal or we get the moldy smell. Its pretty bad when we forget that step. Now the display flashes all the way across the control panel and the washer will not start washing. The wife and I are a small family and generally wash only 3-4 loads a week, so the washer doesnt get a lot of use. Im ready to give up on this washer. Its not terrible but its not a good experience either. I paid nearly $1000 for this fine machine. Time to get rid of this POS.

Wow cant believe Im finding so many people with issues with their LG fridge. Ours is 3 years old and has been making loud noises for a while, had a couple service calls, defrosted a couple times, helps for about a month. Most recently - the WATER STARTED SPEWING FROM THE DISPENSER FULL FORCE ALL ON ITS OWN!! Thank God I was home because in just a few minutes our wood floors were covered with over an inch of water. I opened the door to stop it and then turned off the water supply.Repairman came, heres our list of parts needed to repair: Rear panel fridge (cracked), $267.14. BiMetal freezer part (frosting), $48.65. Control board for updated freezer panel, $329.02. Freezer cover (control panel), $183.38. New dispenser, $280.36+labor. No support from LG on this, which is a shame because they obviously know there are issues with this fridge. Its going to the dump and we will be replacing with a non-LG product. We own a new LG washer/dryer and dishwasher, but this is definitely our last LG product based on this experience. Btw, our 23 year old Kenmore is still going strong in our garage! Will be searching for class action suits and ready to join as soon as I find one! LG lfxs32726S.

Hi. I bought an LG washer and dryer 2 weeks ago, got it installed 4 days ago. My first wash the dryer didnt work, I kept trying but it didnt. LG sent a 3rd party tech who investigated and replaced a part (back box ) but it still doesnt work. Hes left it to a next unscheduled appointment to probe further to try and see if changing front panel will work. I paid $2600 for this machine and Im so disgusted, disappointed & frustrated with the process and the service from LG. For the price this machine is a complete failure for me. I paid for a new functioning washer and dryer and I got a trial and error piece of equipment. Im a mother to 4 school going kids and the inconvenience, hole in pocket and frustration is inexplicable. I want LG to replace this machine irrespective to their further investigations irrespective if it leads to repair or not. Because I didnt pay for a repaired product I paid for a brand new functioning product and I want one or my money back. I wouldnt recommend this machine to anyone on this basis.

I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014
I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014. I paid close to $3,000 for it, so I was surprised when it stopped cooling less than a year later. I immediately called LG who referred me to a local company that does their warranty work. It turned that the company had been out of business for years and that no one in our area actually does their warranty work. When I called LG again they seemed surprised and told me that I would have to find a local company that would work with them to get my refrigerator repaired. After calling around town, I discovered that Sears was the only company who would attempt to repair my basically new refrigerator. I made the first appointment I could get (several weeks later) to have my refrigerator diagnosed because Sears would have to get parts ordered and approved through LG before any repair could be made so they could get reimbursed for their labor. In the meantime, we decided to rent a refrigerator to keep our food from spoiling as this was obviously going to be a long process. The repairman told me that it could be several things, one of which was the main computer panel. After finally getting the part in and installed, he told me to give it a few days to see if that did the trick. Several days later it was still not cooling. I had to go through the waiting process again. By the time Sears got it fixed for me, I had been without my nice refrigerator for many months and I had been paying rental on the other refrigerator. About a year and a half later, right after Thanksgiving 2016, my refrigerator once again stopped cooling. Also, my LG microwave purchased at the same time quit working. It turns out that neither one would never work again. This time we just purchased another used smaller refrigerator and called LG. They gave me the same information about the repair company that was out of business. I called Sears once again. Every time a repairman came out to my house they would tell me stories about how LG refrigerators are not any good and that they are constantly being called about repairs for them. I had not bought the extended warranty on my refrigerator, so this time I was told that I would have to pay for the labor, but LG would cover the cost of the parts until the original warranty ran out. I was told that LG would try to repair it, but that if it were deemed unrepairable that they would replace it. For almost the entire next year Sears would come out, diagnose my refrigerator, call LG who would suggest what was wrong and order parts. I would wait for the parts to come in and set another appointment for repair. During that period, Sears came out about five times to diagnose and five times to repair. They replaced the Evaporator A, Dryer, Dryer Assembly, Dryer UV (Restricted), Heater Exchange, Pipe Assembly... Finally, in November of 2017, Sears decided my refrigerator was unrepairable and gave up. They gave me back all of the labor that I had paid, minus the trip charge to come to my house. It turns out that because it had taken so long to try to repair my refrigerator that LG was not going to honor any kind of warranty. For the last year I have the nicest looking boat anchor in the middle of my kitchen floor that I dont know what to do with. Complaining to LG doesnt help. They just pass me around until I give up. Complaining to Sears doesnt help either. They just put me through to the warranty department, which does me no good anymore. I believe that LG should be banned from our country. I will never buy another of their products again.

My french door refrigerator Model #LMXS30776S was purchased in May 2015 and in July it started to make a terrible noise and I called LG and they said most likely there was ice on the fan. A few weeks later it started turning off and I would have to restart it. I called LG and they said I needed to get a technician to look into it. I had someone come out who said I needed new sensors and a new evaporator cover and it would take 3 days to get the parts in. 4 days later I called and they told me the parts are not available and I had to call LG directly to get the parts.I called LG. They quickly set me up with a $300 extended warranty repair plan and set up a technician to come out. This guy also said I needed new sensors and fans. One week later, they could not get the parts and said they were not available. The warranty company refunded my money minus $100, saying that parts were not available. Based on CA Civil Code Section 1793.03, parts must be made available within 7 years of any major appliance. I just spoke to a supervisor in the corporate office who after 30 minutes on hold said that the parts are available and she is transferring me back to the warranty repair company to get set back up on the plan. LG has been incredibly awful with this entire situation and I have heard from their own technicians that they rarely honor a warranty even within the first year and said to never purchase an LG appliance. I agree.

We purchased a LG dishwasher model no. LDF8764ST ($800) four months ago and after using it ONCE, it stopped working and would not power on. I was not able to return the dishwasher where purchased and was informed that I had to deal directly with LG. I called LG and was scheduled a visit from a repairman. The repairman never showed up (took time off from work), so I again called LG. I was informed that the repairman had not received the ticket from LG. I indicated that since the product was defective (it worked once) and I was not comfortable risking taking another day off from work and having the repairman be a no-show again, that I would like the product either replaced or receive a refund. I was told that my only option was to reschedule the repairman. I declined and purchased a different dishwasher from another manufacturer that has worked like a charm since it was delivered/installed. This has been the worst product and service I have ever encountered.

All the food In the bottom freezer dethawed and no ice is disowning from the door. I have called LG numerous times and had their tech out three times. He said it was the compressor and ordered the part, came back five days later installed another part (apparently just because the part came in what appeared to be a new box did not mean it was a new part). It still doesnt work. Meanwhile we’ve been living out of coolers and LG gives excuse after excuse when I ask to speak to a supervisor. Had I known about the class action suits that have been brought against this company I would not have bought this piece of junk. Im not sure what one more negative review will do for LGs image problem with its refrigerators. However you would think that as the reviews pile up and pile up that at some point the company might start dealing with the fallout and consumer dissatisfaction. My model is (rather was) a french door type with bottom freezer. While Ive had it the interior light bulb melted its plastic cover, Ive had the ice maker replaced twice, and the thermostat assembly has gone twice. Some on warranty and some not. The second time I decided to cut my losses (tons of food lost) and no comfort that the problems would end and replace my fridge. In these days of sustainability thinking however I remain upset with this company and the crappy product I bought. Thing is the glitzy outer casing looks brand new. What a shame.

Bought a French door May 2017 from Costco, compressor failure happened after 2 years. After surviving without a fridge for 2 weeks as a family of 5, with 3 young growing boys, the compressor was finally replaced. It was explained that LG built these fridges knowing the compressors were not compatible and that they would fail. That compressor repair last 3 months... I have spoiled food 2 times thanks to this LG nightmare. We finally replaced this fridge after the 2nd failure as we need a dependable fridge. I have submitted for food spoilage reimbursement multiple times but LG is refusing to reimburse me due to the purchase receipt copy provided from Costco doesn’t have the ‘Costco logo’ on it. WTHECK?! We’re now a whirlpool, I will never do business with LG again. Worst experience of my life and I will be pursuing any lawsuit for these defective refrigerators.

LG Washer WT5070CW - I have had this washer since 12/12/12. It is not worth the money. This is my third washing machine in my married life of 35+ years. I gave my son my last one when I bought this piece of junk. All the others lasted 10+ years. Always Unbalance Error. I babysit this machine constantly waiting for it to UE over and over again. The repair man for my appliances wont even look at a LG. Should have called him before my purchase. I called LG today and really received no solution other than emailing them all my information on the purchase. Considering buying another washer (NOT LG). Dont even want to give to anyone because it is junk. Will just have them haul it away.

Bought LGs top end fridge in 2011. Had multiple issues with ice maker working, compressor within the first year. The LG technician ruined our wood floor and left dents all over it, which LG has paid for refinishing. Weve put up with not having enough ice from the beginning. BUT, this past weekend the ice maker quit, then the rest of the fridge stopped working. Had to throw out tons of food. This was on a Saturday night, 7/20. We bought an extended warranty. Weve gone through the proper channels and the contracted repair company cannot come to look at the fridge until 7/30. I have to wait 10 days for service and be without a refrigerator. That is unacceptable! Shame on LG for charging huge fees for crappy products. Shame on Nebraska Furniture Mart for selling extended contracts to sub par repair companies that treat a warranty like a welfare recipient. Shame on Mega Performance, the extended warranty provider and shame on Mr. Appliance in Overland Park, KS. Today is 7/22 and we are trying to figure out a plan and get this resolved, quickly. Customer service is lacking horribly in this country. People need to step up and be accountable and do the right thing.

Do not buy LG washers. They are prone to breakage and the service is horrible. I have a 3 year old top loader (LG WT1101CW) and it is a terrible purchase. Light use (2 loads a week) and this thing starts popping the OE error code and not spinning out. I spent a day and a half researching and following the service manual to try to fix. Why did I not call a service tech? Because LG has none in Minneapolis. By the way, the whole phone home thing to find out the problem with your equipment, does NOT WORK. I will have to agree with other posters, this unit is disappointing in the cleaning department as well, it will not get out smells let alone dirt. At this point, as near as I can tell, like others this will need a new control board. (Without labor they charge about 20% of the purchase price.) Please save your money and your blood pressure. LG has earned every bad review you will find here.

About five years ago, I purchased a new LG with a freezer on the bottom and two refrigerator doors on top of the freezer. The ice maker is located in the upper left door (as you face the unit) in the refrigerator. So far, the ice maker has been replaced 5 times, and has never worked correctly. It will not provide sufficient ice output for a family of four. If guests are expected, I must buy ice at the store to supplement the output of the ice maker. The ice maker contained in this refrigerator is a poorly designed and constructed worthless piece of junk.

It has everything I was looking for in a refrigerator and the price was within my budget. The color matches my other appliances and its easy to clean. I like the water filter that comes with it because makes so convenient and easy for my entire family to drink clean and purified water. I only wished it was more affordable. Everything else about it makes me happy and Im so glad I selected this specific model and brand. I have no regrets. This brand has met my expectations and I would recommend it to all of my friends and family members.

I have an LG dryer. I only put a 1/2 load of laundry in on the energy saver mode. After a 63 minute cycle the clothes are as wet as when I put them in. LG said that the dryer is functioning as normal. They said I am supposed to hang all my clothes after the cycle is complete if I want to use energy saver mode. They did a remote diagnostic and said there are no malfunctions. My dryer is under warranty and they said if they come out and there is not a manufacture malfunction I will be charged for the service call even though my dryer is under warranty. Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a He top loader with stainless tub. Its been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the IE error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, Im blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; Ive come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality. This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks its a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while its working. Not happening. And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Dont be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brothers crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

We were very upset initially with our expensive LG refrigerator breaking after 3 1/2 years which left us living out of coolers for a week, losing 80% of the items in our refrigerator and freezer due to spoilage. We were finally able to speak with an LG Representative on the phone within 24 hours to discuss the problem and LG came through and stood behind their product by conducting a repair with upgraded new parts and a software update to help eliminate future problems. We had an extended warranty through an authorized LG retailer we purchased from. LG took over the repair order, sent their internal LG Service Direct Technician to our home and conducted the repair. The technician was very professional and highly skilled. The repair only took 1 hour.We were very concerned about parts being ordered and having to wait an additional 1-2 weeks after diagnostic testing. Not the case! Repair was complete on 26 FEB 2020, 6 days after breakage. 5 hours after the repair completion, the ice maker was producing ice, freezer was working, and the refrigerator was cold. Seems like a good repair. I would like to thank LG for their support in this matter regarding our refrigerator repair. We look forward to enjoying our LG appliances now and in the future.

This is the 4th appliance (6 in total) that is nothing but crap! The model # LRE30453SB is the range that we own! I have had a technician out 4 times in 7 months to fix problems! The sensor has been replaced twice and the brain box once, and last week (11/8/2012), they were back again because of the same problem (sensor). This time, they put goop in the back of it to keep it from making the sensor noise. All I want is to have decent appliances! Luckily for me, this range has an extended warranty! My fridge wasnt so lucky. Well, I should say we are so lucky - $500 in medicine and food wasted! LG doesnt care! They wont do anything! The list goes on and on for ** appliances! The dryer and washer have both had to have repairs to them within the first year; the range, 4 times in 7 months. Now the fridge! Something needs to be done! This is a lot of money that I dont have to replace the food lost, and potentially new fridge! Do something.

After 20 months my LG fridge with an inverter linear compressor failed. LG customer service is terrible, as I have to wait 7 days for a tech to look at the fridge to determine the failure.... it’s the compressor... No cooling in both freezer and fridge compartments, all fans are running. I’m one of many unsatisfied customers! Had I known the reliability of the inverter compressor was this low I would have purchased the fridge! I hope there are some lawyers out there with similar failure of their fridge and consider a class action law suit against LG Electronics. The inverter compress design is faulty and all customers should be given the choice of having it fixed (only to fail again in 18 months) or a total refund of our purchase. LG French door model - I purchased one of the most expensive fridges in the LG lineup about 3.5 years ago. It stopped working - no cold air anywhere. I called LG, and they offered me a flat rate deal to send a technician and fix the fridge (about $210). I paid and a technician came. The problem was the compressor relay. He could not order the part because it was discontinued. It took LG 4 weeks to agree that the part was not available (during that time, I was without a fridge). Every time I called to inquire, they told me to be patient. Now, their only offer is to pro-rate the fridge value and pay me around $900 towards the value of a new LG Fridge. I asked for a replacement; they refused. To add insult to injury, they said I am not even getting back the full $210 repair cost because the technician still has to get paid, although nothing was fixed. LG makes a wide range of goods. I will not be buying any of their products, ever.

I called again and the agent said he tried calling me 3 times and came to the house. I did not receive another call from the tech after the initial call saying he would be here in 1/2 hour. He never came to my house, my front door was open. I did not have a radio or TV on and he never came to my house. The agent said he could come back in 10 days. I asked for a supervisor and was told one would call me back in a couple of hours. Unbelievable! I am cutting up my Sears cards and will never buy anything from Sears again. I wouldnt recommend anyone buy an LG product after what my husband & I have been through. We bought the refrigerator in 2007 and have probably had Sears out to work on it at least 12 times. We kept paying for the repair agreement because it became obvious very quickly that it was a LEMON! We have had the motor go out once and lost all the food in it. They have replaced the side of the door with the dispenser on it once...the motherboard 7 times. We lost all the food in it again a few months ago. Today was the third time in three weeks they have come out and arent sure what the problem is. It just stops running and you have to unplug it, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. LG always tells the technician to replace something on it and it never works. Today they said to put on another door & a new power cord. We have stopped storing meat in the freezer because we are afraid the refrigerator will break down again and we will lose it all. We store it in the 30 year old refrigerator in our basement that has never had to be worked on! We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator and could have bought at least one more with all the money we have paid in repair agreements. There should be no question that we should get a new refrigerator. But they dont want to do that because now its old! They spend more money fixing this than they would giving us a replacement. It makes no sense at all! If you are looking for a new refrigerator I suggest you steer clear of LG. I wont own anything again with LG on it!

As many others have stated, if I could provide zero stars I would!!! Do not buy even if other reviews are good. Its not if its when your product will default. Weve had our LG refrigerator for less than 3 years, and bought the extended warranty. Unfortunately, its been nothing but trouble. We are currently out of a refrigerator and LG still has yet to come up with a solution or a reliable repair company. The first issue was the fan in the freezer compartment which was fixed and covered under warranty. Now its the compressor, which for anyone thats not aware does have a 5-year manufacturer warranty that we would not have known until someone told us and it wasnt LG. The company that LG contracted out came to repair (the company actually had horrible reviews online) but guess what folks our refrigerator still is not working and we are at 4 weeks. I would like to add for anyone experiencing issues to file a complaint with the BBB which I just finished. Its too soon to determine if this will help mitigate the process but its worth pursuing. We spend entirely way too much for a product that does not work.

In the summer of 2009, my wife and I purchased a new kitchen with all new LG stainless steel appliances. Since then, we have had trouble with two of the four appliances. We soon discovered that the control knobs on the new LG LRG30357ST range were damaged due to poor design. The oversized stainless knobs were a selling point for us, as they had a nice, heavy duty, commercial look. But the plastic connecting pieces are cracked now and fit very loosely. Then after about a year and a half, the LG LMVM2085ST microwave stopped working after a short period of erratic performance. We were told on the phone by a customer assistance operator that our one year warranty had expired. And the cost of repairs would be ours to pay. I called the local repair shop with the number given. We would then have to remove the 70 pound microwave from over the range, and place it on the table before the technician arrive. The technician came to the house and made the repairs. But then, he left me to reinstall it myself. About six months later, the same thing happened. Only the lights and the fan work now to serve as glorified range hood. My wife and I have been very upset with this. We wanted so much to be happy and proud of our new kitchen, but disappointment has sullied the experience.

We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I dont stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasnt finished.I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, mens underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else. This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I dont even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Cant wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

They very next day I contacted LG and they opened two case numbers (one was due to the CustomChill drawer sticking when you try to fully open it) and told me I wold be contacted within five business days. They said that in the meantime I could email the purchase receipt, delivery receipt and a photo. As I never received any communication from LG, on the fourth and fifth days I reached out to them again. The fifth day has come and gone and still nothing from LG on either issue. While I love the refrigerator, I am very disappointed in LG customer service. At this point in time I would be very apprehensive about purchasing LG again.

I have never been more appalled and disgusted with a company and customer service in my life. Last night while doing laundry, my LG electric dryer of the last 4 year, the cord connecting in the back of the dryer caught fire and melted. Thank goodness we were home and the dryer shut off with no further damage to the house other than the wire and casing in the back of the dryer completely melting. I called the customer service line to let them know what happened and the lady sounding like she was reading from a manual telling me that I had to set up a service call which I understood. Then she tells me that I have to pay over $275 upfront for repairs before they will send anyone out. I told her that the malfunction was not my fault that there is a defect in the product and she said unfortunately unless I pay upfront they can not send anyone out. I told her to send someone out and if the repairman somehow found us at fault we would pay then, but before he came out to look at it. How do you charge someone for a repair that they havent even seen yet to know what needs to be fixed. How do you charge someone upfront for a repair that was a manufacturers defect? A defect that could have burnt my house down or worse killed my entire family had we been sleeping. For safety measures I had an electrician come out to the house the very next day to ensure it wasnt an electrical issue on my end and he even said its wasnt anything from the house end, that it was an internal issue with the dryer.

We bought our 4 door LG refrigerator in 2015 when we remodeled our home. It is by far the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. Weve had the compressor fail and replaced early on, then the ice maker was replaced, then one of the glass doors cracked, and now the compressor has failed again. In both cases when the compressors failed, we have had to throw away the entire fridge full of food, which is very expensive for us. I understand that the technology in newer refrigerators may be more sensitive, and life expectancy may be less than what they used to be, but this has been an inexcusable experience with a very expensive appliance.

Piece of crap top loading washer Model WT1701CW does not work! This washer, I was told by the salesman at Conns, with which I am no longer doing business, was programmed by a woman. It ought to make her and her environmentalist friends happy, because it saves water. But if you want your clothes washed, youre out of luck, because they will not be submerged below the water level of only a few inches! LG is no help at all, refusing to do anything. No software upgrade, no repair, no reprogramming, NOTHING! Wash day at my house involves using a BUCKET to fill the machine to a level adequate to wash, then repeating the bucket brigade for rinsing, EVERY LOAD, EVERY TIME! Do not buy LG products. I also have an expensive Plasma TV that failed after only 12 years. What a rip off!

Purchased stove LRG3097ST/00 in 2011/2012 at Sears. Stove broiler began coming on automatically at odd times (6pm, 1am, 3am, 7pm, etc..) some 6 weeks ago. Since then, we had the warranty servicer out to repair four (4) times. Twice had parts shipped in. The last time, the parts arrived damaged. What a mess. Stove sits unplugged from electrical outlet and gas valve shut off. Thank goodness, I had the forethought of purchasing an extended warranty on this new brand. This past Friday, we received some type of authorization (number) to purchase a replacement stove. I have been reading reviews and will not pick LG, and Kenmores will be carefully scrutinized for quality. Still have an LG refrigerator bought the same time, so waiting to see what happens with it in the coming months. Already having door closure issues. Will not buy anything made in Mexico.

Lg refrigerator LFX31925st - This is in addition to my previous review from a couple of weeks ago. A company that LG sent out to look at the unit came out and replaced the main control board and fan panel for the second time. It got rid of the error for a few hours and then by that night the unit completely shut down and when I checked the temp the refrigerator compartment a few days ago, it was 85.4 degrees F and a little warmer in the freezer compartment. LG is still refusing to work with us at all on the issue. I have contact the Texas Attorney General and the New Jersey Attorney General (LG corporate office location) for assistance in resolving this matter.

I originally chose LG because of the price but over time it became a great brand that was totally worth it. I was expecting much less from LG but they far surpassed my expectations. I like the ice maker and smartphone functionality, its pretty nice. I can connect it to my phone, play music on it, pour the water to almost any temperature nearly instantly, open sections without touching it, and more. I like all of it, my refrigerator has so much functionality I couldnt imagine switching to anything else, except maybe the Samsung one. The price was good. The overall fridge is just perfect.

My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.

We purchased a brand new LG Refrigerator LFX33975 fall of 2013 prior to moving into our new home. In less than a year 1/2, we noticed the bottom of the left side door beginning to rust on the bottom side. Directly below the ICE/WATER dispenser due to a manufacturers leaking problem. We called LGs warranty department and they sent an LG specialist to come out and take a look at our complaint. He determined that there was a leak caused by the ice and water dispenser. The leak was due to a manufacturers default. Because the dispenser should have never leaked out into the bottom of the door frame which caused the rust. The LG specialist said he would have to order a new door and a new ice maker that were shipped directly to our home. He then called to find out if both parts had been delivered and we told him yes. We then arranged an appointment for him to come out and replace these parts. Now they want us to be responsible for the repair cost of $224.70 that they should have come out and repaired at their cost. We are even being harassed by a collection agency which even sent us a letter demanding payment. Such an expensive fridge should not have this problem especially being just over one year of owning this fridge. I am sure that there are many disappointed customers dealing with the same manufacturers defect. They deserve to have a class action suit put on them. If LG is harassing us like this I can just imagine how awful they are to others. I will never again buy any LG products in the future!!! WE ARE NOT PAYING FOR THEIR MISTAKE!!!

Soon after we bought this model on 7/28/09, we had to replace the circuit board as a result of what the repairman said was a design flaw, whereby using the self-cleaning mode will burn the circuit boards out if you use them more than once a year. Called LG - this is the only technician they have. LG called and I have to wait. I am at their mercy. Service Technician showed, called complete and product serviced and working. Not the case. Dont buy an LG refrigerator! I paid too much attention to the breakdown of the refrigerator, and it has been a month and a half since it broke, but it is still the same. I used it so far with a 20% discount on the LMXS28626S in June 2018. When I opened the freezer around the end of January this year, everything was melted. I called the LG Customer Center and changed the compressor on February 10, and it broke two days after fixing it. I called the repairman who came last time and came in a hurry. After checking, he said that he couldnt fix it.. There was a leak somewhere inside, but he couldnt find it. He contacted the repair center and said they would fix it. There was no contact even after waiting. When I called the customer center, they said that I had to talk to a repairman at the site, and that he would send the repairman again. And 10 days later, I finally got the case number... When I called the customer service center a few days later, I used it for almost 3 years, so I subtracted what I used and gave a refund. I got a 20% discount, so I couldnt buy the same refrigerator with that money, so I asked for a full refund if I would give it a refund. He said there was no such thing in company regulations. I would use the refrigerator for more than 10 years if it wasnt broken. What does it mean for you to make such a product, and the consumer will suffer the loss?? They tell me to clean up the broken refrigerator. Its not in company rules... Your company lost more customers because of me.

My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. We have tried the tub clean cycle on the washing machine, have bought products designed to clean the washer, and we leave the door and detergent drawer wide open when not in use to try to keep mold from growing. Absolutely nothing works! I contacted LG customer support and they said I had to get someone to service it. Why should I pay someone to do what I have already tried? There is nothing they can do that we havent already attempted. Like others have noted, the thing also will not stay level. My washer is on a top floor and it sounds like an earthquake when the spin cycle is going. The dryer is no better. The clothes are rarely even close to dry when it stops and I have to continuously keep running it for multiple cycles to get them to dry. I should have just kept my top loading Maytag instead of wasting a lot of money on this piece of junk. I never had to buy products to clean out mold and mildew from the top loading Maytag, much less pay someone to service it.

We bought a $4000 LG refrigerator from Home Depot 13 months ago. When we first received it, we noticed the plastic piece above the fruit/vegetable drawers was broken. A repairman said that he would order the part and return once it was received to install it. That never happened. I let it go since the refrigerator itself was functioning fine. Unfortunately, as soon as the 1 year warranty expired, so did the refrigerator and the freezer. They both stopped working. The LG repairman states that he needed to order a part and would return. He did so, but unfortunately the new part that was installed didnt fix the problem. A few hours later the refrigerator also developed a loud noise as well as a vibration. The repairman was supposed to come back this morning, but LG called 30 minutes ahead of time to say that the repairman called in sick and they dont have an alternate repairman (even though I live in middle of LA). A repairman is scheduled to come back tomorrow. Well see what happens. I bought an LG refrigerator from Home Depot in August 2007. It is the freezer on the bottom model. After about two months I noticed dripping in my basement. The ice maker plastic hose had a pin hole right behind the fridge and water was leaking down into the basement and onto the I beam. The whole beam was filled with water. Home Depot came and replaced the plastic hose. Then it leaked under my new laminate flooring and ruined a section of it.I just shut the ice maker and the water to it off. I use old fashioned ice cube trays because I am afraid to have another leak. I also have had to replace the crispers in the refrigerator section twice as the plastic keeps cracking, making the crisper unusable. The new ones dont quite fit and are relatively expensive. Prior to it breaking down, I called and proactively asked for replacement or a permanent fix after hearing of friends and relatives have failure. LG refused and said they would only come out if something was broken because no official recall was done. They are in a class action lawsuit currently over this. We are now waiting A WEEK for a technician to come and $700+ worth of food and groceries gone. Calling the customer service was a nightmare with foreign reps who spent 15 minutes trying to understand my address until I asked to be transferred to a supervisor who had better communication and more fluent in English apparently. Then I was told that they would reimburse me for a mini fridge or fridge rental, later I find out that was a bold faced LIE. It has to be GREATER than 7 days of outage to qualify for this. I was exactly scheduled for repair at 6 days from my phone call, so now they are saying they wont reimburse. I WAS in love with my new fridge. The 25 cu ft. capacity is just the right size for my family of 5. (We also have a deep chest freezer for handling all the meat, icecream tubs, etc). The dual ice makers really come in handy when the ice maker on the door cannot handle the load. (Its quite small, so in summer months, or with guest over, you run out of ice quickly). It has plenty of space and looks gorgeous. Flash forward 4 months 2 weeks later... compressor goes out. I call LG about this issue... and the frustration begins. The incompetent reps on phone tell me that the reason my fridge is not cooling is because I have the temp setting at 2 degrees instead of at 0 degrees for the freezer, and 37 degrees instead of 35 for the upper portion. Ok, a whole two degrees will make my fridge cool. Then they went on to perform this gimmicky smart diagnoses that the unit is equipped with. She did not want to sent a technician out because the smart dx told her that there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Meanwhile there is water all over my kitchen floor because all the ice was thawing and melting out of the unit. I called on a wed. On a Friday a certified LG tech came out. Told me the compressor is dead and that it would be Monday before he could repair it. So now I have been without a fridge for days, with 3 young children in the house.I have called LG and voiced the fact that this is unacceptable for a 2k fridge. The rep proceeded to tell me I would only have to pay for service call! How is it that when you are still under warranty you have to pay for the service call? The technician shook his head in dismay. He could not believe what he was seeing. I placed the call on speaker for him to listen to the ridiculousness by the rep. After my unit seemed defective, I went online and have read tons of reviews on LG fridges needing major repair within the year, and am afraid I was sold a lemon. I want a replacement or my money back. They have not contacted me. I have called and have been hung up on. I was also hung up on, right in front of the technician! You think you are buying a nice piece from a reputable trustworthy company, and the fact is all the contrary. I am so disappointed.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

I liked the stainless steel and the LG brand. It did not disappoint. Which one is the best appliances Ive ever owned in my entire lifetime. The refrigerator is side by side chrome MID level fridge, better than most at 2 so I stay separated nicely. It has you can adjust temperature for different parts of the refrigerator, you can actually maintain different cooling. It was great. Wouldnt change anything. I really like the way it looks but Im not sure I like the fingerprints all over all the time. It seems like no matter what you do, you always have them.

I think the refrigerator is good. There were some awesome features like smart touch that allowed me to do anything with it and voice control that allowed me to open a close door without touching it. I would buy a new fridge from LG. They are the brand I want and the brand most trusted. They exceeded all my needs.

We purchased the French for LG refrigerator 2-3 years ago and it stopped cooling yesterday. We called LG support. The lady was nice, telling us to try this and that, but nothing worked. She then gave me a phone number to call for local service, with all cost paid by the customer. It is not good for such a giant piece of appliance to work for just 2-3 years. I called the local service anyhow. The stop by per se is $100, and the estimated repair cost (compressor issue-- it is cold when plugged in) is $650. Looks like this is a very common issue with this LG machine. Can LG do anything about it?

We purchased a side-by-side model. When they delivered the refrigerator, it would not square up; it looked crooked. They said it worked fine and could not take it back. When we noticed it was bulging from the sides and was wider in the middle, that sort of looked like a problem. The drawers would not stay in the grooves. When we called, they said they would get back with us, which they never did. The refrigerator was bought in 2008. Then the water valve for the ice maker went bad. I called to buy a replacement part, but they no longer make that part. So Im out of luck with a $2100 refrigerator that has no ice maker. I cant even sell it for a second refrigerator for the garage sale as a result.I would tell everyone to beware of this company as they are not reliable. I will never purchase another LG product. I hear Electrolux has the best warranty and service department.

We have only had this washer 6 years and when the display reads 10 it doesn’t go any further toward zero. It will run For about 20 minutes and then Give a UE error which is basically saying the load is not balanced. But if it is empty then how is it out of balance? Then you call for a service place to look at it and they want to charge $90 just to show up which forces most people to trying to figure it out on their own. Has anyone else had this same problem And could offer the remedy for it?

This refrigerator model GC-L207BLQV came as part of came as part of the appliance package provided by the builder of our house. We were never given a manual or receipt. When we moved in we found the water feed to the ice maker was not connected which I managed to figure out and correct. We have now had the fridge 11 months and the freezer ices up and the fridge part doesnt cool. The display on the door indicates Er dH , without the manual I have no idea what this means. We live in Panama a long way from towns. We called in a local tech to repair or diagnose. However he spoke no English whatsoever and we know very little Spanish. He defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer charged $45. The freezer continues to ice up and the fridge side gets warm with subsequent food spoilage. Contacting LG is a waste of time as they are not interested in servicing Panama. Ive found out from researching that the defrost timer is stuck or malfunctioning. I have no idea where this item is located or how to get at it without a servicing manual. The warranty is not worth the paper its printed on so Im prepared to do the work myself or pay to have it done. LG no thanks.
