LG Dryer Model DLEX8600WE
Burners staying on or not turning on intermittently - I called LG explaining my problem that the burnings on 1 and a half year old range either stayed on or would not come on. They told me it was out of warranty and it is my responsibility. I do feel after such a short period of time shouldnt need replacing.
Im very disappointed with my LG Washer. We bought it over 2 yrs and it started leaking from the bottom about 7 mos ago. It doesnt do it every time, but enough times that it is becoming a nuisance. It also shakes even when the load is very light. Im so frustrated with it that I am considering going back to a top loader. I had my previous washer for years and never had problems like this. So sad considering all the money we spent for this LG pair.
The fridge has great cooling system, very practical design plus the aesthetics fit my taste. The height is just perfect for someone petite. It also has cold savers and french doors. It was more affordable compared to the other brands with the specifics that I wanted. It has add ons, it is also very durable. It has definitely met my expectations with all the bells and whistles. But I wish the organizing bins were adjustable. Temperature per shelf adjustable, a roll out shelf, easy to remove and clean bins, an area where we can put odor neutralizer. That would really be helpful
Back in November 2008 we purchased an LG front load washer from Home Depot. After two months of owning the washer it went crazy! I had put a load of clothes in to wash and went about my chores, when I heard a horrible banging sound! When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. The replacement leaks all of the time! They have been out to check it more times than I can count and it still leaks! I will never buy another LG product!
Weve had this LG refrigerator for the best part of 5 years and it is still going strong. There is minor rusting at the bottom part but that is probably our fault. The freezer also started to form ice which we do not like one bit but we consider it a minor thing. It has not broken down so were kind of happy with that. The light indicator became an issue back then as it was not working as it should have, but we made a minor tweak in the wiring so that its back up running good again. I wouldnt say we are particularly careful with our appliances but this fridge has managed to make it through up to this day which is very much fine. It looks like we did not make a mistake in choosing an LG product. I expect it to last another decade or so, which is how it should be with stuff like this. If it does, I will write an update on this review ten years from now and will give a 5-star rating.
We purchased an LG range and it was delivered on Dec. 14th. When I tried to convection/bake something at 225 degrees, it automatically went to 300 degrees. I tried putting a lower temperature in and the same thing happened, jumped right to 300 degrees. I called customer service and they told me that it needed to be serviced and set up a technician to come out on the following Tuesday. When the technicians came out (who were very unprofessional and unskilled), They replaced the main electronics panel. The oven still did the same thing. They called technical support at LG and the technician did not know why it did not fix the problem. He went to LGs test kitchen and found that all ovens of this model only convect at 300 degrees or higher. After speaking to a manager, LG informed me that there is nothing they can do and couldnt tell me if they have any oven brands that convection/bake below 300 degrees. The manager actually hung up on me and did not transfer me to anyone who could give me this information. My question is..... has anyone had this problem with LG ovens. Do other brands convection/bake below 300 degrees? We had a Hamilton beach countertop convection oven that would cook at lower temperatures. Is this just a feature on full size ranges?
Life is not good with this LG refrigerator model LFX31925ST/00. We never have any ice. The icemaker had been replaced 3 times in 2 years. Even it works, it is not enough ice for a single person let alone a family. We are lucky enough that we purchased the extended warranty, but that doesnt help the fact that we are inconvenienced all the time with doing without ice for days on end calling repair, staying on hold, waiting for parts from FedEx, then waiting for repair men. Contacted LG... who does not care to say the least. I was told to deal with the puerile I bought warranty from because their year was up.
I bought the washer in June of 2013 and had issues right away. It would never put in enough water to get the clothes clean. My husband works with cattle and his clothes get dirty. After the Heavy Duty cycle, the clothes would come out with mud. Always have to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle. Machine would freeze up and finally wouldnt reset. They replaced the control board and found a wire that was never installed correctly so sometimes it would connect and sometimes not. Now just this month it would constantly be uneven and finally froze up. It was the main part under the drum that controls the machine that went out. Only 2 years old and this is the machine I am stuck with. Thankfully I bought a 5 year extended warranty with it. Once that is up, I will not buy another. Cycles take forever. You get the UE Uneven Code a lot with towels. It is not water efficient when it will constantly refill to make it even, spin and do it over again because it is still uneven.
I also bought a pair of LG appliances (washer and dryer). What a mistake, to say the least. I cannot even find service for these appliances in my area, due to the low quality of this product. It takes 3 cycles of 1:10 minutes to dry a normal load of clothes. I have to add vinegar to a load of sweats, to help with the smell. That is on top of a fabric softener. My towels also smell horrible, after washing and drying. My units are less tan 5 years old, and I have wasted over $2,000 on these low performance items. My life Is not good with these LG appliances.
While recently reading a Consumer Reports article about recommended refrigerators, I noticed that LG got very high ratings. Given my experiences with an LG refrigerator, I was shocked. Six years ago, we were so pleased with our LG top-loading washer/dryer so decided to look at their refrigerators. I saw the one I wanted right away -- stainless, French door refrigerator with a huge amount of room inside and outer door ice and water dispenser. Loved the interior lighting, too. After looking at this one, I knew nothing else would make me happy so we plunked down $2500 for it, on sale no less! It ran fine the first year and I was the envy of anyone who came to our house and admired it.Skip to year 2 -- New Years Eve and we kept hearing this loud noise whenever the fan came on. An LG certified repair technician checked it a few days later and said it was a known design flaw; ice would build up around the fan and when the fan turned on, it would hit that ice. She was able to repair it and things were great again -- until the water/ice dispenser stopped working later that year. It had to be replaced but luckily, we had bought an extended warranty so we didnt have to pay for it. Shortly after that, one of the glides on a freezer drawer wasnt working correctly and it had to be replaced. This past December, the ice tray kept overfilling with water so when it froze, the tray couldnt empty; we kept hearing a loud clacking noise. I had to get out my blow dryer to thaw the ice enough that the tray could turn over and dump it. Of course, since the refrigerator is 6 years old, our extended warranty was up so it was on us to get it fixed. Luckily, my husband is a former Industrial Arts teacher and avid YouTube viewer, so he ordered a new ice maker and fixed it himself. It worked fine after that.2 months ago when I opened the refrigerator one night, I noticed quite a bit of water on the top of the freezer door. I thought maybe I had spilled water, though I couldnt imagine how I might have spilled that much, and after cleaning it up, I opened the freezer drawer. Soft ice cream, thawing meat, melting ice cubes did not bode well. Strangely, the freezer indicator on the outside of the refrigerator registered 0 degrees. I checked the refrigerator and the inside felt warmer than usual. When I stuck a thermometer inside, it registered 50 degrees. Thinking maybe the coils needed cleaning, we did that and moved all of the food to our 25 year old garage refrigerator and to our basement freezer. The next morning when we checked the temperature in the refrigerator, it was almost 70 degrees so time to call an LG certified technician. (Not easy to find, by the way) The first one who came to our house and checked our refrigerator announced that it needed a new condenser and two evaporators. He was qualified to fix them, but his company would no longer allow their technicians to work on the LG evaporators/condensers because theres a special valve inside that, if damaged during a repair, cant be fixed -- the whole refrigerator would be dead. His company didnt want to assume that responsibility, and I cant really blame them. The second LG certified tech said that even though the parts are still covered by the LG warranty, it would cost us about $700 plus a $100 service charge to fix it. Thats almost a third of what we paid for the refrigerator and would cover the cost of a new no-frills top freezer refrigerator! Oh, and only a 60 day guarantee. We said no thank you, so as we speak, theres what my husband likes to call a $2500 paperweight sitting in our kitchen. I sent an email to LG and the answer I got back sounded as if the girl who replied hadnt even read my email, or at least didnt understand it. Her suggestion was to contact an LG certified technician to fix it. (I guess she missed the part of my email where I said that we consulted TWO LG certified technicians!) Disgusted with that response, I sent a letter to both the President of LG and the Consumer Relations person to express my dissatisfaction with my refrigerator. Have I heard back? No. Will I hear back? Probably not. Given the number of complaints Ive seen over time, it appears that LG service leaves a lot to be desired. I think its a sad commentary when a $2500 less than 7 years old dies, while a 25+ Kenmore out in the garage is still working just fine.According to one of our repairmen and from what Ive read, the problem is that appliance companies today are manufacturing appliances to last only 5-10 years, and refrigerators are nearer the bottom of that estimate. Gone are the days of appliances that lasted 25 years or more (I had a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted almost 30 years!) Most refrigerators, too, have only a one year warranty, so purchasing a longer warranty is pretty much a necessity. Searching for a new one over the past several weeks has been a real challenge, and so far, nothing has grabbed my attention like my LG did six years ago... maybe because Im going back to simple, top freezer fridge without an ice maker so well hopefully avoid a lot of repairs. Bottom line: If youre looking for a new refrigerator, please do your homework, and stay away from companies with poor service record reviews after the sale. Also, make sure you buy an extended warranty because chances are, youll eventually need it.
I have owned a appliances for 38 years and I wished I had NEVER purchased LG! I had my doubts when I did purchase ALL LG appliances and I should have listen to my instincts! These are not low end LG products. The ice maker on the Refrigerator freezes up and quits making ice and I was only 1 month out of my full year warranty. They did not offer to fix it and I sure didnt allow them to come out to service our refrigerator because I didnt want to give them another dime. Well, now my top end washer is not spinning all the water out of the clothes and guess what... I am 5 months out of my full warranty. I called and they did the smart diagnoses and recommend they send out a repair person because they are not sure why it is happening. Do you think they would consider a service call for free??? Nope... This is the first time in 50+ years I have ever written a review. DONT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!
Our LG LFXS24623 fridge experienced a compressor failure at 2 years after purchase. LG shows a 10 year warranty on the compressor however that is on the parts ONLY. I spent $400 for a Sears tech to install the free part. According to the tech he is replacing compressors on LG fridges constantly and there is a class action lawsuit against LG for compressor failures. In addition to the compressor issues, the ice maker is faulty and requires constant fidgeting to make it work. This is another known issue on LG products. The only thing worse than the design/build quality on LG appliances is their customer service. They are in some foreign country, they read off a script, are extremely unhelpful, will not pass you to a supervisor on request, etc. Life is definitely NOT GOOD with LG.
I have a twin door LG refrigerator. The small bar that opens and closes between the two doors has a small torsion spring that broke. They will not sell the spring but will sell the entire new piece for $80. So they want me to spend $80 for a $.50 part. This is the second door part that has failed, the first was a closer latch which they did carry. I guess I should have read the reviews on LG before I bought it. I will never any LG product again. Im not sure how a company can continue to stink with this many one star reviews.
Im a professional mechanic and electronics tech. I just had to replace a relay and two corroded microswitches due to poor design of the icemaker hatch. Weak return springs prevent a tight seal when not in use, allowing moisture from ice melt to drip down past the hatch and, as evidenced by mineral scale, into the chamber containing the relay board, front panel control board, and the in-door ice and water lever microswitches (!). Observed heavy corrosion on electronic parts and fasteners inside, as well as around the front seal where it meets the metallic enclosure. The front seal, intended to prevent moisture intrusion from the exterior of the unit, instead prevents moisture introduced by the ice chute from escaping the chamber. This oversight exposes control boards and electronic parts and connectors to sustained high-humidity environment (!). Control boards inside are not potted (no resin/silicone/thermoplastic encapsulation) and there are no rubber seals on electrical connectors contained within. ICs, pads, and components on the front panel control board show corrosion and, in my opinion, are not long for the world. Ive added a desiccant pack inside the chamber and a bead of silicone sealant under the defective icemaker hatch behind the front bezel to mitigate the design oversight and hopefully extend the life of my investment. Rust at the bottom of the front control panel may be an indicator of the problem described above on your unit.Additionally, the linear compressor used in this fridge is currently the focus of a class action lawsuit (which I am not party to). LG asserted that these units can have up to a 20 year lifespan (avg of 14 years) but have had a significant portion of units fail starting around the 3-year mark. My compressor is still functioning for now but Ive purchased a 3rd party wireless temperature monitoring panel with sensors for both compartments to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness associated with a failing compressor. This appliance is at best, a very poor investment. At worst, it is a hazard to my wife and children. Moisture intrusion behind the front panel presents a reliability problem, a mold hazard, and a fire hazard due to the line voltage connections within. The poor design choices make it clear that the engineers involved with the project had some serious deficiencies in failure mode analysis, fail-safe design, and keeping with good engineering principals. Ive experienced similar design oversights involving moisture control with other LG products Ive owned and maintained (LG window unit AC, LG Waveforce washer and dryer) and will never purchase another LG appliance. Longevity is important to me, but does not seem to be a priority for LG. My wife thinks it looks pretty in our kitchen, so theres that I suppose. Hopefully the compressor fails and I can get this stylish lemon out of here soon..
I bought a window LG Dual Inverter 15 months ago. I read many reviews and they were very negative but the low noise thing was hard to beat. Yes it is low noise at low speed but still worked good for my needs. Now it is freezing in the front coils. I have used the unit less than 6 months as I dont live permanent where it was installed. LG service is non-existent and now the warranty is expired. Also the front grill looks CHEAP in appearance and one or two clips broke during installation. I will never ever buy anything from that brand and much less any appliances from Home Depot.
They were so stubborn and did not want to take responsibility. So they had a workman come out and order basically whole new washer parts to put together. It was ridiculous. It must of cost them twice what the washer cost. When all the ones arrived a different guy came out to put it together. He realized that the problem had been when it was put together at the factory the bleach compartment wasnt hooked up right and had alowed it to seep into the metal parts of the machine. He put what he could together. It works fine now. No more rust but it is loud from having to use part that were somewhat mangled from everyone trying to figure out what the problem was. He did not need to use the outside of the machine or the new drum. I ended up taking them to a metal place to discard. Its a shame I had to fight with LG for two years when this could have been an easy fix. Now I wont purchase anything LG.
My LG LRE3083ST Electric Range worked flawlessly for the first year. Then the controls quit functioning properly. It was intermittent at first. Sometimes I had to reset the circuit breaker to turn off the oven. Then the stove top controls failed. I could turn on only the rear burners. I contacted LG customer service thru their website. The reporting process was cumbersome, but LG agreed to send a repairman out to fix it. The repair seemed to be good. The oven and stovetop both worked. That was 6 weeks ago. This past weekend the stove top controls failed again. Today I contacted LG. This time by phone. The customer service person was friendly, but after conferring with others there, she politely told me that any future repairs would be on me. I have been an LG television and appliance owner for over 10 years. I have never had an LG appliance fail so miserably. This problem is likely a quality control problem, but LG does not acknowledge that. The control boards that the repairman installed in January failed before the end of February. The boards must be defective. My respect for LG just took a big hit. I will no longer recommend the products and will consider other alternatives when I replace my 15-month-old range. I will not pay to repair it because it will probably fail again.
Three weeks ago my son contacted LG customer service. Our refrigerator has been running with a loud fan sound. Recommendations... to set temperature at original setting settings and dont open the doors. Three weeks from then... same situation. Today I called LG customer service talked with Chris. He asked for the fridge/freezer temperatures. Fridge panel at 34, freezer at -6. Yet, I explained to Chris that I bought refrigerator/freezer thermometers... the fridge reads 60 degrees, the freezer is reading at 30 degrees. Chris asked my son if the settings on the refrigerator was personal or preference. My son said I guess preference. Conclusion - Chris now had us reset the temps to fridge, 37 and the freezer at 0. He said since we preference the other temps, tried to explain that we did not set this temps, he said, Well your son said it was a preference. No one at LG was helpful. Very belittling, Dok. the first person spoke with, continued asking Is the fan sound humming, snapping, tapping? When I tried to explain that no one set these temps, Chris used the bias term personal or preference. Not one person was willing to work together to solve the problem. They were looking for blame. Point remains, whatever the panel temps says the refrigerator is still at 60 degrees, and freezer is at 30+.
Our LG clothes washer is consistently - awful! Clothes come out ‘stiff and unwashed. For example, a folded handkerchief comes out of the wash still perfectly folded. Terrycloth towels come out stiff and scratchy instead of soft and relatively fluffy. Most of the time, some parts of a pair of pants, for example, are not even wet when the wash is done. The problem, I think, is lack of water. It is impossible to get enough water into the (front-loading) machine to properly wash clothes - even when the extra water option is used. Way back when I lived in military barracks and used front-loading washing machines, the water level was generally a third to half way up the front window. Not so with this LG machine. I really regret buying it.
Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. Service who told me I would have to pay for the repair; next I asked for a supervisor and they eventually connected me with an executive agent. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. I will tell EVERYONE I know never to buy anything that is LG.
This has been ongoing since October 2017. We purchased a brand new refrigerator costing us $1500 and it stopped working! LG has sent technicians out to repair the unit however it is not repaired! They have to come out over and over and over again every few months to “repair it”! During this time we are living out of coolers! I I finally got fed up and contacted the corporate office today since my twins have a 103 fever and I’m once again living out of a cooler until they return next week! I spoke to a representative named Milton who was extremely sarcastic and rude! He deemed the unit fixable? Fixable... They have to service it every few months so apparently is defective! He also stated that this was no cost to us! REALLY??? HOW??? It cost to us to continuously miss work over not to mention lose hundreds of dollars worth of groceries! He deemed the refrigerator fixable! They REFUSED to replace it! I’m blown away! BEWARE of the horrible customer service! Wish someone could HELP!!!
I have the 4 French door model LMXS30776S I bought it Nov. 2014... It was delivered late Jan 2015. This Jan 2017 it stopped cooling... Home Depot sent a repair man (I bought 5 year extended warranty). He said the compressor went bad and LG had to repair... Since then. LG repair person has the first call replaced the compressor... Still didnt work. The second visit fixed a leak and installed a new PCB board. That was on 2-17-17. Guess what 3 days later still not fixed... This is the worst product I ever purchased and at almost $3000 dollars. It will be the last LG I will ever buy.
My fridge stopped cooling three years after my purchase which is a little disappointing. I feel three years is not a long time. In addition all my food spoiled because of it! However every person I talked to was helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Still waiting on my food reimbursement & no one called me back to extended my warranty... Without a warranty this would have been more expensive so make sure you get the warranty.
LG support reached out to us and hired a contractor to repair the microwave. They contacted me several times to ensure everything was taken care of to our satisfaction. Im very satisfy with their effort to correct the issue even though the warranty period for the microwave had expired. Great support.
The dishwasher is very quiet and washes well but takes a long time to go through the cycle. There are numerous cycles to choose from. A screen at the bottom of the DW is easily removed to dispose of food particles.
Does a good job of washing the dishes, but the dish rack is of poor configuration. The dishes tend to end up at a 30+ degree angles to the vertical and this limits the capacity of the machine. But it looks good and performs well so no serious complaints.
My LG stove worked for about 3 and a half years. Then began shutting off and not coming back on. Finally convinced 2 different repairmen to come, but they didnt fix it. Most repairmen near me wont work on LG. Parts hard to get and expensive. It wont come on now at all. Have to buy a new stove and this one is less than 4 years old!
Recd LG washer on Feb 07 from Lg warehouse. Around 4 PM Complaint to HD (we purchase from Cambridge store). On Feb 08 that washer front door is leaking. When we spoke to LG they ask us to troubleshoot the washer by doing a tub cycle. We question why we should be doing all this when in fact its a brand new washer which came directly from your warehouse, (CSR are horrible and rude). LG then said they will send a tech out to look at it. We cant have it replace since their policy is complaint must be file with 48 hrs. Our complaint was file with 24 hours. Today is Mar 03 and I still have a leaking washer. LG service are extremely Poor. Products are Inferior. Will never purchase or recommend LG appliance. Dont waste your money. Life is Grief. Thats what LG motto should be.
I bought LG Tromm set washer and dryer on 10/12/2006. The washer has been a constant problem, and currently, I have been without the use of this machine as it has been waiting for parts. A service man came today to do the repairs (2 weeks without the parts) and found that the drum is bad and stated the machine is junk.I am with American Bankers on an extended warranty that expires today, and I now must wait even longer to see what they are going to do about this machine. The drum has created holes in the front assembly of the machine, and there is even a chance that they do not even make the parts any more. I feel that they need to do something immediately as we have waited long enough for the parts, and now, there are more issues.I would never buy appliances from a store that does not provide their own service contract as that seems to be what is causing such delays in this issue. Why pay good money for the machine and more good money for the service contract, only to be sitting and going on 3 weeks with no washer and no one contacting us to tell us what they are going to do about this issue? This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned, and I will never buy another LG product.
I just used my A/C for a week. I heard a loud noise coming from outside and smelled electrical burning. I turned it off and tried it again - loud noise from outside the unit and burning smell. I turned the unit off. I was scared the unit was going to catch my house on fire. I called LG to have them service it. I already had the date and time and company they were sending. Then the customer service guy informed me the warranty had already expired 6 days ago. Really! This company could not honor it - after buying a refrigerator and stove from them. I am really disappointed with them. Let’s see if I buy another product from LG or even recommend them to my family are friends.
I bought the LG Model DLEX3370W in May 2019. Exactly 2 years later the dryer died. The circuit board died and it will not power on. I went to a local repair/refurbished shop and asked them if it was possible to repair the dryer. They told me it would cost the same amount to repair the dryer as replacing it. The dryer works very well when it has power but after about a year we noticed it would intermittently not power on. In most cases we would unplug it and plug it back in and it worked. This last time it is completely dead.
I have had to replace the ice maker on my LG refrigerator 3 times. I write this review so others do not have to go through what I have had to go through with LG. The cost each time for the part to replace is $135
I have two products of LG, first is Semi Automatic Washing Machine and second is LG Window AC, both are only 2 years old and they are not working properly. Earlier I had Whirlpool washing machine and it was too good, I never had any bad experience with that but LG is just opposite. I had purchased my Window AC in 2012 and last year only the gas was finished, I dont know how and why. Overall my experience with LG is very bad and I am not going to buy any product of LG in future. Also I never recommend LG to anybody. Just be careful of LG.
I own an LG refrigerator (model number LR FD 22850 SW), French doors style and with a freezer on the bottom. One day my wife called me and said that the fridge is running hot and the lights stay on, even with the doors closed. I told her to disconnect the power and remove the light bulbs, until I get home. I later found out that the light sockets were very dark and burnt. The plastic lens cover and plastic base were also melted by the light bulbs. I got replacements from Sears’ parts website. I got them the very next day, and replaced all bad parts. After four hours, the fridge started to get hot again--the same problem. I had placed a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature while it had no lights. The temperature was steady at 37 degrees. Four hours later, with the lights on, the temperature reading was 89 degrees. Lots of foods were spoiled, and the plastic parts melted again. So far I have removed the lights, and the temperature is going back to normal. I believe I am not the only one with this defective appliance.
Purchased the complete LG black stainless kitchen set up for our newly constructed home. Appliances were purchased at Sears and delivered by them to our new home. Microwave was badly damaged off the truck so it was reordered (Sears fault). Dishwasher, Refrigerator, and Double oven were not damaged as we examined the boxes for exterior crushing or creases. The dishwasher leaked like a sieve the first time we used it!! My husband checked to make sure all hoses were attached properly and all fittings were tight. We could not use the dishwasher at all as it leaked so badly it was ruining our new flooring and leaking into our basement.I took a video as we pulled out the unit and ran it and it was obvious that the leak was coming from the back of the unit. LG repair came over and determined that it was damaged at delivery! I still had the box. No damage to the unit during delivery. LG refused after months and months and pic after pic sent to their US offices and their South Korean offices. This unit was dropped and creased across the back during manufacturing and they kept telling me that it was Sears fault. I could not, in good conscience, blame Sears as I had personally examined the box when it arrived at our home. After 10 mos. of arguing with LG, I went to the local Sears store where we had purchased not just the 4 LG appliances, but a beer fridge, for the basement and a freezer for the basement as well totaling more than $11,000 in one purchase. We had also purchased appliances from them in the past. The new store manager, upon hearing my story from the saleswoman from whom we purchased our appliance, made it right. I told him that I never relented on the story that it was not Sears fault but a manufacturers defect. He appreciated my honesty with LG and replaced the dishwasher.Moving on now to the microwave. After finally receiving the new microwave 3 months after the other appliances were delivered. It was only 5 mos. before the digital display started acting wacky. Then the microwave worked intermittently. Again, I called LG. They assured me that they do not have manufacturing defects as their quality control is above reproach. I said, Great sent me a repairman as it is under warranty. Scott, from LG, ordered a new door which contained all the inner workings of the unit but it was the wrong color. He reordered, came by and replaced it only to find it didnt work either as a week later it was acting like the door he just replaced. Finally Scott was able to get the right door and it works. That process took 2 months.Just before Thanksgiving, 2017, we noticed just under the handle of our new refrigerator, the paint was peeling off of the black stainless finish. It is not an area of the door that we touch regularly or even at all except to wipe down. After the holiday, I sucked it up and called LG once again. LG in South Korea told us the warranty was up on the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do. I told her to take a look at the history on our previous appliance issues and that it may be time for us to possibly file suit with the company as now its 3 out of 4 of their garbage products that have caused us no end of grief and that Sears has documentation and I have pictures and other paperwork accumulated over the year from hell since we made the purchase of their products. She put me on hold!Scott came into our lives once again and ordered a new door and installed as we decorated our Christmas tree! I thanked him and told him that our oven would probably go afoul soon and we may see him again. He answered questions I had about the knobs on the front of our LG stove that when bumped, turn on without you knowing and have emitted gas. My worry is that I will bump a knob and be on my way out rather than the 3 times it happened while we were home and smelled the gas fumes. Scott said there was some kind of kit we could get to prevent the problem. Why didnt LG tell us that at some point. I will order it as soon as I finish this post to assure the safety of our home and family. Please do not purchase appliances from LG! They are dishonest in their dealings and lied to us over and over and I have it documented. Some of their local repair affiliates are hand in hand with them and lie for them without doing their work. They walk in and determine it was someone elses fault and tell you to go after them. Sears in North Olmsted, OH made the situation with the dishwasher they sold us right. I cannot thank them enough. Sears has a contract with LG and other manufacturers that says that Sears repair may not touch LG products that are under warranty. They are not allowed to look at your appliance if it is under LGs warranty or the warranty becomes null and void. The consumer is at the mercy of the manufacturer as we were and the manufacturer, LG, is dishonest in their dealings.
The first problem was (what I found out is very common) the pump broke. The hose had to be drained and the pump replaced. Paid for new pump from authorized LG repairman plus fee for his visit. Second problem, the dryer settings stopped working. No matter what settings were selected the dryer stopped at 20 minutes. Clothes were not dry. Now we can only use the Time Dry and Temperature selection. At least we can dry the clothes. Third, the washer stopped working. We tried following instructions from LG and nothing worked. They suggested calling their authorized repairman who would charge for the visit as well as parts, etc. All the blue lights blink but the washer will not choose a setting and doesnt start. We tried holding the start button down for 3-10 seconds. Song plays. Nothing happens. Still cannot select setting. Occasionally it is in a good mood and works normally--about 1 in 200 tries. The only way I have been getting it to wash clothes at all is by holding down the Start button at the same time as the Pause/Play button. Then IT selects a setting, usually Cotton, and the door locks and washer starts. All through cycle all lights blink including the orange one for Delayed Wash. Now nothing is happening but the blue lights for Start and Pause/Play come on, song plays and no selection, no start, no way to operate washer. We were told LG was the BEST brand. Lifes Good their commercials say. They should change them to LNG: Lifes Not Good because now we cant wash our clothes and drying must be done manually. THESE WERE VERY EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SEARS AND BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ONES SO WE COULD REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY BREAK. Its cheaper than paying the authorized repairman to come out, pay for his visit and parts. All computerized and were told on the phone that the whole panel might need to be replaced. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
We have not owned our stove for a year yet but are experiencing issues with the oven not heating up fast enough and the front burner labeled ultra great will not stay lit. Would like some help in this as it is not a year old yet.
33 cubic foot French door bottom freezer refrigerator by LG. Purchased 2-18-2014. Died (no power) 2-21-2016. Ice maker always sucked, so we hardly used it. Today while using ice dispenser, the control panel started beeping then whole unit lost power. Checked plug in and it had power. Only the refrigerator would not work. This is a known issue with LG, yet they do not want to help. Luckily I have homeowners insurance that will take care of my $3,500 bad purchase!
Bought LG washer back in March 2014 From Home Depot. It will not clean childrens clothes. It does not have access to scrub dirt out.
I purchased this range (LG DOUBLE OVEN RANGE) new in July 2017. This is not the first time I have had this problem since the purchase of this range with the front knobs being turned on by accidentally brushing up against them. This morning I smelled something burning. Upon checking found one of the knobs on the electric range was turned on apparently from brushing up against it earlier. There was a glass baking dish on top of the burner that was on containing a cake made earlier in the week. Upon touching it to move it off the burner it exploded into small pieces all over the kitchen and surrounding food. Thank goodness no one was injured. This is a major problem and it should be recalled or corrected before someone is seriously injured.
After less than one year of owning my stainless LG gas range, the 5 knobs, which are made to mimic stainless, bubbled on the outside and cracked at the attachment spot. LG replaced them as it was within the warranty period. That was February 12, 2011. Less than one year later, 4 of 5 knobs are again bubbled and broken. I have not phoned LG to see their response yet but regardless, clearly the quality is incredibly poor.
I bought a LG stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven about a year and a week after I have them the warranty they gave you was up. Had to have the dishwasher, stove fixed and now the refrigerator is leaking water from the ice maker. Do not recommend this product to anybody.
I purchased an LG oven as a gift for my sons family in February 2013. After 6 months the oven stopped working. My son called LG and had a repair person come to the house. He had to wait over 3 weeks for the appointment, even after offering to be home at any hour. He has small children and trying to make meals for the 3 weeks was a challenge. Once the oven was repaired we all thought it was good to go. In January 2014 the same problem occurred but this time LG said they cannot get the part (after my son and his family waited another 3 weeks for an appointment). My son and I have spoken to LG and they offered to pay us back for what we paid. Of course they refuse to replace it. It is not longer an item that they make and since we got it on sale so a new LG will cost much more than what they are offering to give us. Shame on you LG. When I purchased my oven, not an LG, and it did not work properly, not only was it replace but it was replaced the next day. I will never purchase anything made by LG again. Customer service says it all and LG does not have it. From a customer of anything but LG.
The fan in this refrigerator is very noisy when operating. LG would not replace the refrigerator but did replace the fan two times... The fan is still noisy. Other than a noisy fan, the refrigerator operates excellently.
Unfortunately we have the exact complaints as everyone else!! Do NOT buy LG products! They do not last and even worse is the customer service. We have been trying to get our refrigerator fixed for a month and a half. 3 times they’ve sent out a technician and 2 of those three times they cancelled the appointment the day of. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service just to be mocked by a representative (John **) when I expressed frustration that our refrigerator went out after only 3 years....Oh wow, really, 3 years, hmmmm very sarcastically!
My LG french door refrigerator is six years old. Six months after I purchased it the little spring on the French doors broke I had to buy a new on eBay. A little after the warranty went out the ice maker broke. I paid for a whole new one it wasnt long after that the ice maker broke again so I just left it and started making ice with trays. Now it has stopped cooling and freezing. Now what LG? Youre taking peoples hard earned money thinking they are getting something trustworthy! I have an old Maytag in my garage. Its 30 years old never stopped not once.
Problematic since the get go. Clothes stink when they come out. Leaks from the door. Constantly off balance. Started get black streaks on all our clothes and discovered the bearings are gone - only 4 years old. Would never buy an LG again.
Sadly, I love the range, the oven (LSE4613ST slide in range), it is all beautiful... BUT it is an accident waiting to happen. It has been a little over a year since I purchased the range. About the same time last year I had friends staying in my place after their rental was sold out from under them. I stayed with a friend. One day I got a call from them telling me that they are not sure what happened, but one of the stoves burners turned on by itself. It was a mystery and hard to believe so we figured someone forgot to turn it off after using. The next time it happened a towel caught on fire, and we were thinking a Poltergeist (I teased her). One day by total accident they discovered that all they had to do was brush against any one of the burner knobs and the element would go on. I called LG but wasnt able to get any assistance from them. All they said was it is not a known issue and apologized for not being able to help. I called Home Depot where I purchased it. The lady was very helpful and gave me the number to the LG guy that does repair work for Home Depot LG products. The technician stated that the knobs coming on with the slightest touch was a known issue and he would like to do an upgrade. The upgrade was at no charge. He replace the entire heat knob assembly that was suppose to make the knobs have to be pushed in a ways before you could turn it. I was ecstatic! My friends finally found a home of their own and will be moving soon. My friends Aunt was over there helping her pack dishware and was using the stove top to do it because there was no place to sit. My friend said she smelled smoke and ran over just in time to see the burner had just come on and was starting to burn the newspaper. My friends Aunt does have a little bit of a tummy on her, so they figured she had pushed the knob in by accident. Obviously the upgrade did not fix it. I guess my friend and her husband had been scared to get too close to the stove, even after it was fixed, so that had prevented any more fires. Now I am going to have to get another stove or be reimbursed for this one. I doubt that will happen. But yes, I am surprised we havent heard of someone getting really hurt by this stove.
Dependable, easy to clean, durable because it lasts beautiful, strong and big enough to load my king comforter. Easy to assemble when needed. LG easily able to contact with questions and maybe same if I need their service.
We bought a LG washer and dryer on Nov 2013. The dryer broke in August 2014. We are dealing with the Factory Warranty thru LG that is managed by GEEK SQUAD that is associated with Best Buy. Unfortunately the Geek Squad is the worse Service Company to deal with. Up to now Oct 23 we had 2 technician coming to the house and 1 appointment which nobody showed up, and my problem has Not been solved! They promise me by phone to have the parts ordered 2 weeks ago and installed tomorrow Oct 24. Yesterday we received an e-mail saying that they can Not come again and postponed the visit to Oct 31. I can Not understand how a large company as LG can have such Bad Service. We regret very much having bought an appliance from LG. We Do not recommend this company to anyone!!!
Bought LG 2050 washer about 3 years ago. About 1 year ago, washer would leak on occasion, not that much water. I called LG and they told me to clean washer and they questioned me on detergent use. I used the correct amount and type of detergent. But LG kept saying that the leakage issue was my fault and that it would go away. Well, a week ago, water started pouring out of washer. Looked at washer and determined it is leaking from the seal. Very difficult and expensive to repair. I am very disappointed and feel that I was misled by LG.
I had dealt with our old washer for years. It would become unbalanced a lot. Clothes would come out with washing detergent, dirt, food and baby poop still on them. We decided to buy a new set and not have to worry anymore. We paid almost $2000.00 for the pair. Its exactly like the old one except were out $1000.00. The dryer is fine. Love it, but HATE, HATE THE WASHER. Scale of 1-10 it gets a 1.
My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.
Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG says their initials stand for Lifes Good. Should be Looking Grievous.
More inconvenient than our old simple Whirlpool dryer.1. No light in dryer... Never thought to ask salesperson because never expected a feature downgrade from our previous basic dryer.2. No warning via any simple brochures or sales people that small loads result in a wet log which requires a second manual time setting extension of drying time and the separation of the individual items from the compressed log one a a time for the rerun. Sometimes the result of the rerun is loose dry items (ideal), or a dry compressed log still needing separation. This is a waste of owners time and effort. There was no such hassle with our old dryer. Had I been forewarned (before purchase), there would have been no purchase!
DONT BUY LG! I bought an LG stainless steel refrigerator and after 30 days the top 1/4 of the doors turned brown. LG says this is cosmetic and not their issue. I bought an extended warranty through BrandsMart and that company says they only cover electrical and mechanical. The store, BrandsMart, says it is an LG issue. Bottom line from this Abbott and Costello routine is that I am stuck with a 30 day old stainless steel refrigerator that looks rusted.
My LG washer broke three months ago. I have a service contract but the companies LG hired to repair the washer have done nothing. I can’t even call them. Their mailbox is full. They do not answer or return or leave messages. I have a $1500 steam washer and I’m still going to the Laundromat paying to do my laundry for three months. Next time I’m going back to Maytag.
Went to Lowes where I bought my LG refrigerator to buy a replacement filter and they said everybody was out of the water filter I needed. Sick of this, they told me the same story last year. They ended up giving me one of their filters from a demo on their floor after I insisted they do so. Im telling everybody NOT to buy LG cause of this problem. Model No. LFX31925ST/06 is the LG Refrigerator I have. This really sucks. If I had know this fact about LG not being able to replace filters for their refrigerator in a timely manner I would have never bought one. Like I said, Im spreading the news that LG cant replace your water filters.
Purchased model #LFX25991ST January 2012. Within weeks the technician was out to fix the icemaker. He returned at least 2 times within the first year for the same problem. Within the first few months, the lettering on the face of the water dispenser had started to fade. By the end of the second year one of the plastic drawer covers had broken off (minimal use. No children in house.). Technician was back out the third year for icemaker. By February 2016 the fridge began making loud noises with on and off warm water, but was very minimum. With all the money already spent (did not purchase extended warranty as we had NEVER had problems with refrigerators in the past - other brand names), we had no energy left for this fridge. Then a couple days ago, no surprise, the entire thing quit with a loud bang. So heres the kicker. I called various service people on Monday. No one could come until Friday. Called LG and got hung up on once. Called back and after hold time, finally got to speak with someone who barely spoke English and was obviously reading from a script. He tried to troubleshoot with us over the phone then agreed that the fridge was dead. He provided 3 companies that they contract with to come out and look as the sealed system is under warranty for 7 years, some parts 10.So I proceeded to call these companies. One said he does not work on refrigerators, another said he will not touch this model number, and another kept hanging up on me. So I called another person I had initially spoken with. He still couldnt come out until Friday, but since the parts are under warranty, I would have to pay for labor which would be upwards of $400. And the best part of all is LGs policy as he explained - After the problem is diagnosed, I would have to call LG and get an authorization number, they would have to mail this to me for confirmation, then the parts would have to be ordered, then I would have to get on the schedule to have the repairs made. I am therefore without a fridge for close to a month. Debating to chuck it or go back to Whirlpool or KitchenAid. NEVER AGAIN will LG enter this house!
I hate LG, worse company to deal with when you need customer service or system repair. 69 days and still no resolution on my $2,900 refrigerator. After 1.5 years the unit quit working, after 50 phone calls and several attempts to fix their unit I still have no solution. They suck, they don’t care about the customer, they keep escalating my case and each time it takes 3-10 days to get an answer. They say they will contact me and they never do, I have to call them 3 times a week to keep things moving.Missing time from work to be home for repair people, they made a mess in my house. Open the system under pressure and sprayed refrigerant oil vapor in my kitchen and dining room… They don’t care about the customer at all… Keep apologizing on the phone, yet their action reflects zero effort to correct their defective unit. All the local LG service companies refused to work on their product, Technicians told me they can’t fix it and they will not touch an LG refrigerator sealed system. I have to say it’s the worse customer service experience of my life, I am so mad… Who can live for over two months without a refrigerator?
I have a 2 year old LG washer with the impeller tech, low water use, etc. I dislike it intensely. The impeller action does not move clothes sufficiently, the water levels are not sufficient to get the dirt to float out and away, and it cannot do large sheets at all. When I do sheets I have to check constantly and push them under water level, no matter what setting I use. They never completely submerge. I usually have to add additional water to hack the weight so that it adds additional, even after the extra water button is pushed. I wish I had kept my old Maytag and repaired it.
Gas knobs on my LG 30 freestanding gas convection range (model number LRG3097ST) have malfunctioned twice; each time, theyre causing gas leaks. When my husband called, we got 4 replacement knobs with the identical issue. The issue is the plastic inserts - they break and they continue to break. This is a known issue! In my humble opinion, there should have been a recall issued a while ago on this; and you dont have to be a NASA rocket scientist to figure that out. I looked at the complaints the customers have made against the LG line, and its been going strong since 2009. I am not sure what the Consumer Protection Board is waiting on. But Im hoping to at least use this venue to get the message out. The rest of the oven works wonderfully, but the gas leak from those knobs should be addressed, and if not by LG, at least by our own Consumer Protection Board.
I purchased a washer in January 2013. It started giving a UE signal and delaying the cycles. No matter the size of the load, it kept doing this. It was serviced on April 9th, 2013. It worked fine for several weeks. By June it started the same problem described above. I attempted to make a service appointment online and it keeps saying there is no service for my area!!! I chatted online with an agent and this person (Gus). He asked me for all the information and also stated there was no service for my area and that he would talk to a supervisor to call me. This has not happened (7/18/13). On Monday 7/22, I called LG and the person (Richard) told me that all I had to do was to rearrange the clothes I was washing. I told him that was not a solution and I wanted it to be replaced or money refunded. There was a lot of discussion and then he told me that a repair person (who I need to call instead of them) would charge me for the service, which I refuse to do since this is a new appliance. I went to the store I bought the washer from (HHGregg) and the store manager called LG and there was no solution to the problem. I am not willing to keep this washer giving me such hard times!!
We purchased the LG Front Loader a little over a year ago and it is the worst purchase ever made. The clothes smell, the house smells like rotten eggs and the most ridiculous part is when the repair man was at the house he said these machines cant take more than 3 or 4 towels in a load WTF??? That is High Capacity??? LG should be ashamed to sell this kind of crap - what is their address so I cant drop this off at their front door?
We purchased an entire set. (Refrigerator; double range oven; microwave; dishwasher.) We moved into our house and did major renovations before installing the new appliances. Now it’s over a year and we finally had the contractors put everything into our renovated kitchen. The dishwasher is not running properly. The range is leaking gas out of the burners. This is simply ridiculous. I called LG to see if they can send out a technician and they want to charge me $250 to send someone to look at things. They said it’s out of warranty. But the items are still new and freshly out of the box. So the issue is with LG items! The products have a nice appearance but don’t work properly. Is this a scam to get you to buy the extended warranty?? I paid almost 6k and they still want to charge me to fix something that is new.
We bought this LG refrigerator 2 years ago. The ice maker has started to work intermittently about 6 months into ownership. We live with it until 18 months into ownership when it quit working. We change the filter, reset the machine, search the Internet to find solutions nothing worked. Finally two years into ownership we Paid Over $200 to repair the ice maker on a new LG appliance.
Three door LG fridge. 3 1/2 years old and broke down 6 times. Frequent canceled repair calls and many no call no shows. Have to pay labor, LG only covers parts that must be ordered, 7 days out. Who still takes that long to order anything. Then another repair call to install the parts, and another charge. Once again, you are lucky if it lasts more than a day or two. 6 months is good. LG could care less and Sears doesnt seem to care either. Perhaps a class action suit is in order. At the bare minimum it may force LG and their poor products and even worse customer service out of the market. As for Sears, they will likely be gone by this time next year. Its clear why to anyone that has worked with them.
The lettering on the front of the machine just fell off. Cleaning is hap-hazard. Meaning one load will clean well and the next will not. Very frustrating. Dishes with anything hardened on it will NOT get clean.
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.
We purchased LG washer approximately two years ago thinking it was a great machine! Good name, great size, fairly good price... It turned out to be the worst purchase ever made. The machine is constantly off balance (even though it says true balance). A load that says 54 minutes takes over 2 hours and thats with many visits to the laundry room to fix it! Clothing is not clean, which after 2 hours there should be some sign that laundry is clean! I would NEVER recommend this washer to anyone! I am beyond frustrated with this appliance???
Purchased new LG side by side from Home Depot in fall of 2012. Rust started appearing under the water/ice maker after the 1 year warranty had passed. The shelves also started to break about that time. It looks disgusting and I called LG for remedy and they said for me to do regular maintenance! Now I have moved to another home that has stainless appliances and cannot use this white fridge. Who wants it now... No one due to the rust on the front. Horrible experience.
This has got to be the worse washer I have ever used. IF it completes a cycle, it may take 2 hours or more. This happens only occasionally as the machine usually errors out. We have replaced every part imaginable and still have a hunk of junk. Will never buy another LG product.
This washer and dryer were rated about as well as any, so it was kind of a tossup what to get. You are supposed to use TUB CLEAN cycle monthly or more often (This on a front loader that is supposed to SAVE water) and after every time you use the machine you are supposed to wipe around the 2 gaskets that stay wet. If you dont, and even if you do this creates odors, sometimes even if youre careful to wipe all around. Wiping the gaskets down requires getting on the floor and going into the tight crevices with a rag all around. Also, you are supposed to frequently empty the drain at bottom and clean out the filter. This also requires sitting/crouching on floor and the first few times I had water all over the floor and under washer. Very impractical. So far it hasnt had repairs (2 years old) but is noisier over time and thumps around a lot on spin cycle. Poor design all around.
I have a LG Dryer DLGX5102U(V). I purchased this dryer from Home Depot about 2 years ago and also purchased the extended warranty. Good thing in the less than 6 months, the drum has to be replaced twice. Right now there is metal protruding from the drum and tearing up clothes. LG has tons of complaints for this problem and does not recall them. The drum is supposed to have a 10-year warranty but you would have to pay for labor. LG does not stand behind their products and I will never purchase any LG again.
I bought an LG dishwasher LDF7774ST. This dishwasher is not cleaning my dishes. I followed instructions from Troubleshooting manual but still did not clean my dishes. I placed a glass that I only used to drink water with; but it did not clean. It came out dirty. Called LG Headquarters - they sent several Local Appliance Repair Co. but to no avail (8 service calls). At this point, LG representative told me and my husband that they have nothing they could do. I urge consumers to not purchase LG dishwashers because they dont work. They look good but life is not good with this dishwasher.
Unbalanced Flaw UE - LG Front Loader Extra Capacity - Paid way too much to get extra capacity - would love to have my basic front loader back! Extra capacity is worthless if you cant get the load to spin & finish because of the UE code. Ive had to throw away pillows I washed. No problem in my last machine, because this way overpriced LG wouldnt spin it - not alone, not with other items, not after being wrung out, hung to drip dry, not on low spin - NOTHING. The True Balancer is a joke - it is directly causing the problem. What good is an EXTRA CAPACITY washing machine, if you cant wash more than a normal load in it anyway? The time Ive wasted standing in front of this machine, hoping *this time* it would spin, rebalancing items by hand - makes me sick to think how much we paid for this piece of junk. Good luck with customer service - they said there is no recall even though there is post after post of the same UE complaint, and they *might* call me back once the customer service person logs my complaint. Never asked me for any contact info so Im not sure how that will happen...
Looks beautiful stainless steel, french door, lighting etc... but has never produced 1 ice cube despite 12 visits from repairmen (to date). Losing count but so far 4 new icemakers, valves and whatever else has been replaced. We have reworked our schedule and lives to letting repairmen into our house to fix the icemaker on this new refrigerator only to NEVER have it work. LG has been kind during phone calls but I would rather them be rude and FIX it! It has a SMART DIAGNOSIS on the inside of the door that allows me to hold my phone to for them to diagnose, but that didnt work when I talked to them either. We have been buying bagged ice and ice trays for and expensive new refrig. for 2 1/2 months now. When is enough enough? I woke up at 1 AM thinking about this most frustrating and horrible product I have ever owned (& our family owned a Yugo dealership at one time) - if that tells you the level of frustration this has caused.
Easy to use, looks and works great. Very easy to keep clean and has delay and lighting features. What else can I say except I love my LG microwave. Hope this works for you as there is just so many words you can use to describe a microwave.
We have the French door fridge from Sears but unfortunately its an LG which we have had for 2 1/2 years. At 6 mos old it leaked all over my brand new cupboards, they came and fixed it saying it was a part missing but sent it out anyway. Now the compressor is gone but have said there isnt a warranty because Sears didnt buy an extended warranty. How am I supposed to know that because Sears is closed. I explained that the fridge is only 2 1/2 years old and they just repeat the same thing over and over. It is a terrible product and the customer service is terrible. I lost a lot of food but again, they dont care. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from any LG product.
I am incredibly angry with LG products as well as their customer service. We bought an LG steam dishwasher from Best Buy and paid for install. After around 2 decent years, we received an error message. Contacted LG immediately HOPING they would send someone out as we NEVER called prior at least to look at it. They hire local subcontractors so I was charged a $75 fee just to take a peek. I was told the dishwasher wasn’t level and the drain line needed a bigger loop to drain properly. Thank you and on his way. The dishwasher performed for about 5 cycles and three weeks later before last evening rinse cycle that flooded my brand new kitchen and theres water all under the floors. Ill call again but I am not sure I am going to get anywhere. TERRIBLE product. Terrible service. A big fat F from me. Now I have to hire Servpro to come out and dry the floors... rip out my brand new flooring... I am out of pocket for way more than the dishwasher cost. They should have a class action suit against them. I am sure we all suffered more than just the cost of the dishwasher!
Purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator with door-in-door option (M/N LSXS26366D, S/N 709MRFP09283). The first problem is that the software function occasionally (about every nine months or so) turns off the compressor with no alarming what-so-ever. You have to watch for water on the floor and freezer items starting to thaw. You have to remove power for 15 seconds and then turn it back on to get the system operating again. Nothing in the manual about it. I had to find that out looking at on-line complaints. The final problem is the compressor died 2 years and 10 months into operation (purchased Oct 2017, now Aug 2020). No alarm for that either. Looked the same as the controller failure, but this time resetting several times didnt work. Tragically, you cannot get the door-in-door option anywhere else. Maybe with some luck I can find a repair person that can remove the LG installed Linear Compressor with something more reliable. If the controller is what died (rest of the unit works, just no cold air), then I purchased a very expensive dump decoration.
I bought a top load LG washer in May of 2014, model WT1101CW, and was very pleased with it. I have three pets and we need to wash large comforters and blankets often; the washing machine did a great job and was easy to use. Then a freak accident occurred within just a couple of months of owning the machine. The washing machine pulled a sheet into the drain at the bottom of the tub and I had to call a technician. Since then, the machine has been operating well until all of a sudden, it stopped two weeks ago and gave me an error message PE. That means the water sensors arent working. I was leaving town and asked my adult daughter to please call and arrange a service call but she said she called the customer service number multiple times and wasnt able to get an appointment set. I called when I returned home and was told that 1) LG couldnt get in touch with four different companies that service their appliances, 2) there are no LG technicians available to help me, 3) that Id have to wait 3-5 days for someone to call me back. I called again today - same story. I told the operator that the wait time for a service call is unacceptable, especially since now were moving in to our third week without a washing machine. I would NOT purchase this machine again. Im sure there are other options out there that clean as well as this one does and are more reliable.
The area around and under the bleach dispenser has rusted causing rust to fall into our clothing. We purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot and they and LG both indicated that this would not be covered and said that it is a cosmetic issue. We dont like our clothing getting rusty! DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHER OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM HOME DEPOT! This warranty (5 yrs.) is deceptive and Home Depot lied to us.
I purchased my dream refrigerator in June or July of 2019 (that cost me a lot of money). This refrigerator came with all the bells and whistles to include the new sleek look (it is a beauty). In about September 2019 my refrigerators compressor went out. I lost all of my food in the refrigerator. I am very upset about this because to me this was a warning sign of future expectations of this refrigerator. Since the refrigerator was still under the manufacturer warranty they sent someone out to inspect. As a result of service call they replaced the compressor. I requested a replacement refrigerator because I felt that I had received a “lemon” but LG refused to accommodate my request. Here it is 2 weeks later and my refrigerator has died again. I lost my food again. I called and complained again but LG would like to send someone out to inspect refrigerator again. I am very unhappy that my dream refrigerator has turned into my worst nightmare. What happened to the refrigerators that use to last 20 years or more? All I want is dependable, quality refrigerator to keep my food cold and fresh, and a adequate amount of ice. Am I asking for too much?
I have an LG front load dryer (model DLEX3857W). The original dryer lint filter warped, I guess from the heat of the dryer? It would not sit flat, which caused clothes to get caught on the filter, mostly clothes with thin straps, such as camisoles, etc. However, on one cycle, a sleeveless nightgown was caught, which cracked the corner of the filter, as well as a piece of the filter guide. I purchased a new LG lint filter and replaced the broken one, but it never would sit flat where the corner of the guide was rough. Ive had 5 camisoles, 3 nightgowns, and now a fitted sheet destroyed due to being torn when becoming caught and twisting around the raised part of the filter. The material gets wound so tightly that the piece caught just tears off.I made a complaint on the LG website blog, but my entry was declined because I failed to meet posting requirements - I cant figure out what didnt meet, except that the question I asked was based on the fact that I had read several blogs where Kenmores version of the same dryer has had a recall of the due to the same problem, and I asked if there was an LG plan to recall. I have also emailed LG directly, with no response as of yet. There are MULTIPLE complaints online on different blogs, which is where I found a link recommending replacement of all 3 parts - the lint filter, filter guide, and lint filter cover. I found all the parts on Amazon, with more complaints of the same issue. Why should I have to spend $60 for parts that appear to have been a defect from the beginning.
Runaway oven temp noted Monday 26 Jan 2015. Preheated oven to 350, placed pizza on pan in oven and had smoke alarm go off 5 minutes later. Controls on range allowed me to turn off oven and allow to cool. Pizza was reduced to charcoal. Obtained thermometer from my Grill with 600 F upper temp limit and hung it from the rack in LG Oven and set temp to 350. Within 5-7 minutes temp maxed out thermometer at 600+ degrees. Turned off the oven and heard a sharp snap noise behind the oven followed by clock and all other LED displays turning off. Pulled Oven and disconnected 240 plug from socket.Bluepoint DMM showed 0 VAC when both hot lead touched (should have been 220 - 240). Also showed 0 VAC when either hot lead touched to neutral (should have been 120). Circuit breaker found to be in open position and would no longer close to complete the circuit. Took cover from 240 Range connector and found both hot legs were physically melted open, forming a 3/16 inch gap between end of wiring and connector wire receivers (In English, there was such a sudden and dead short type of electrical failure that it blew the wires off of the terminals in the connector and totaled my Siemens circuit breaker). With Junk LG now disconnected, I used DMM to check for continuity of three-pronged plug while still connected to range and had one hot circuit shorted to neutral. Removed cable from stove and using DMM found no short between the wires of the cable. Range still showed short to neutral.Sent E-mail to LG and was sent a complete wiring diagram. Since this range never did show a fault code at any time I pulled back cover and PCB cover. Many locations of paint discoloration noted on back of Range including the stove light area, the two large secondary electrical connectors, and in other areas. Dont intend to play with LG on this for safety reasons. I have new Whirlpool range coming today and am about to replace 240 connector, wiring and the circuit breaker for our protection. The LG stove is going to go to a local, LG certified and personally trusted appliance repair facility. I will be asking for this unnamed store to provide my lawyer with the results of their testing and diagnosis along with defective parts. My intent is to make LG very uncomfortable for selling these dangerous devices to us as consumers.
Bought new washer in August 2013. I have had the repairman out twice and machine still wont spin out sheets or towels. Electronic board has been replaced but LG refused to permit the first repairman to replace other parts that he thought were defective. I have wasted 1000 dollars on a machine that wont spin. I wish I had my 15 year old Whirlpool back. I bought the machine from Home Depot and they refuse to do anything until the original year warranty is out. Sent out another repairman today and after 5 minutes of self diagnostics, he says nothing is wrong with the washer. (This was from running an empty washer.) Is there anything else I can do?
It was competitively priced versus the competition and I liked the look better. It had most of all the features I was looking for. I had also heard very good reviews regarding LG refrigerators and decide to try it. I like the stainless steel look it had and also the amount of storage it had and also customizable shelving. The freezer also had a ton of storage and temperature controls were included as well. I dont have a whole lot of complaints. It has been and continues to fulfill its purpose. However, if I had one complaint it would be it has no ice maker.
Our 4.5 yr old refrigerator sounded like a Dash 8 aircraft for a few days before 2 fans in it stopped working entirely. We just had a LG repairman come out after waiting 3 days and prepaying the special price of $199.00 plus GST only to be told that LG no longer carry the parts that we need for model LFX23965ST. He said that we will have to get a new appliance. We were in shock because the call center agent said that the fee would cover all costs of parts and labor. Who would ever dream that LG would no longer carry parts for an appliance that would not even be considered old by any reasonable person!!! Our appliance was purchased at Home Depot along with an electric stove and a dishwasher.
LG model LRG3081St gas oven preheats to 500 degrees when set on 350. Purchased this range from Lowes and they have been good to work with and have had their repairman to our home 2 times. The control board and temperature probe have been replaced but still over-preheats. In order to use oven I have to open door and try to manipulate the controls to keep at 350. The last repairman called LG Tech support and LG said that we will just have to wait 25-30 minutes to achieve the temp. of 350 as the oven has to settle into the right temp. Lowes appliance Dept. manager said that is ridiculous and I agree. I should not have to wait 30 minutes before using my oven. Still trying get LG to to respond--I want a refund my money. Also burners on stove top are always looking dirty and discolored.
Loved my French door refrigerator. Today, noticed freezer not too cold. Cleaned back of fridge, nothing changed. Went on website, said contact service. Put in zip code, gave me a service place 30 plus. Ike’s away. Called repair service under 5 miles away, only to be told I am the second customer TODAY with this fridge problem. “Very common problem with LG. They knew they had issues with the compressors.” Well, I am grateful my 2004 Kenmore fridge is still working fine, no repairs ever, because all my food is in there now. Told compressor will take a few days... Have an LG dishwasher have no issues. Guess what, no more LG appliances for me. If they knew there was a problem, step up and fix it. I think that’s all we would expect. Stand behind your product. Do the right thing. Fix the issue and pay for all expenses not just the compressor. Your fridge was not cheap!!!
On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name. In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did. After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didnt show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900. LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they dont have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third partys. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.
I too made the mistake of buying LG appliances. My dishwasher motor has seized. Never felt the dishwasher worked correctly. 1/2 time soaking wet and 1/2 time dry. The utensil basket pieces broken out on the bottom. The machine is very loud. Takes a ridiculous long cycle of two hours to wash dishes. My wash machine is also now acting up and I am getting frequent error signs. If you want appliances to last longer than 4 years look elsewhere. Foreign call center with little to no customer service.
The features that I like about the refrigerator is the finish, the size, the overall design, it also has large storage drawers and also has a large freezer to make it easy to organize your frozen foods. I would like to see a more variety of colors and finishes and more unique and innovative features that no other brand has and app to control the temperature of your refrigerator and a ice and water dispenser that can be controlled by an app as well. I choose the LG brand because the brand has been around for a long time. They are a high quality brand. They make a variety of durable and unique products. Their products have a unique and stylish design and are easy to use and lasts a long time.
We purchased a LG dishwasher model no. LDF8764ST ($800) four months ago and after using it ONCE, it stopped working and would not power on. I was not able to return the dishwasher where purchased and was informed that I had to deal directly with LG. I called LG and was scheduled a visit from a repairman. The repairman never showed up (took time off from work), so I again called LG. I was informed that the repairman had not received the ticket from LG. I indicated that since the product was defective (it worked once) and I was not comfortable risking taking another day off from work and having the repairman be a no-show again, that I would like the product either replaced or receive a refund. I was told that my only option was to reschedule the repairman. I declined and purchased a different dishwasher from another manufacturer that has worked like a charm since it was delivered/installed. This has been the worst product and service I have ever encountered.
I bought an LG dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer for my new home eight years ago. As of today I had to replace the refrigerator, the microwave and I am now on my third dishwasher and now my washing machine died. Service is horrible!!! Response to issues horrible, product reliability is non-existent. I wish there was a way to bring LG to the table to respond to bad product issue. I recommend no one buy their products!
The refrigerator is great, the ice maker on door to give more space. The temperature is consistent. The 2 bottom freezer makes it easier to open. The sale price is good for the money. Top shelf slides back to open to fit a gallon jug.
Ordered washer and dryer in October for January delivery at new home in NM. They weren’t delivered until February. No help or even empathy from LG. Customer service is non existent. Ordered through Home Depot and they were helpful. They even told me LG would not return their calls as well as ours.
Weve had our LG Double Oven for 8 months now and just discovered that the bottoms of the three (out of five) central knobs are melting from the heat... of the oven (must be). We bought the oven (model number LDG30368ST) at Home Depot. We called and got thru to the Customer Care Rep for HD in Atlanta, and she put us on to an LG rep. He told us they would send replacement knobs. We said they shouldnt send more plastic as they would undoubtedly melt as well. The knobs they sent were plastic as well. We got back onto HD and the local store Expediter helped us. He called LG and got back to us and... they dont HAVE any other knobs... only plastic made to look like stainless steel. Weve since discovered that there have been other people having the same problem who also complained and who also got the same results (or no reply at all). Now it appears our options are to continue getting replacement knobs until the warranty is gone and then paying for them, or stop using the upper oven. LG doesnt care, we bought it, were stuck with it. Poor design, insufficient testing. Well think long and hard before ever buying LG again.
Have this LG model for over a year, several service calls with no ultimate satisfaction. Dishes are not really clean and not dry. Would never buy another LG dishwasher.
