Purchased an LG washing machine model #wt4870cw 3 yrs ago and this is the 2nd service call in that span with the same problem. UE (unbalanced load) plus the inside top has rust around the fabric softener cup. Same problem we had 1 1/2 yrs ago!! It will cost us $285 for labor not including parts!! Terrible product and LG wont stand behind its product. Terrible customer service (from the Philippines)!! Will never buy another LG product again, not a TV, dishwasher, heck, not even a toaster!! Terrible product and company.

Updated on 05/30/2020: As I stated in previous review this dishwasher has a manufacturing problem and LG refuses to do anything because it been too long!! It was made without railing on the bottom and thats why the basket keeps falling inside the machine. To refresh, they sent me about a year ago 2 new baskets, which of course didnt help. I dont know anything about machinery so I wasnt aware of the problem. A very nice problem resolver named Sean called and took pictures and told me what the problem was in the manufacturing and that he would resolve my problem and would be calling me in 1 HOUR. Well, its been 5 days and NO CALL!! Each time I have called customer service for an update they get snooty with me and keep giving me the run around. I WILL NOT be purchasing anymore LG products they do not stand by their products. For Sean who said he would help go to hell!!Original Review: LG makes an excellent washer with the exception of my lower basket. From day one Ive had a problem with it and LG sent me another one and it lasted less than 1 year. The bottom basket falls off the runner constantly and I am a senior that would prefer not to have to lift the entire basket filled with dishes to try to push it backside the washer. The model # is LDT9965BD and I bought it a Best Buy and Best Buy refused to help me. So Ive had this washer for 3 years and everyday the same problem. If I could buy another dishwasher I would. Also the things on the top and bottom move and I have to keep adjusting them and the utensil holder is a problem as it breaks apart and now is permanently broken. I could live with the others things. Its the bottom basket running off the rails everyday that is challenging. LG will not resolve this issue so I live with this aggravation on a daily basis.

I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator when we built or new home in October of 2014. My husband was very excited about the third door in the top half of the refrigerator and the ice in the door. I wanted the freezer on the bottom and the extra space in the top half. Although we both got what we wanted I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. After only 6 months we had to pull it apart in the freezer compartment and thaw the back of the freezer because the fan in the back was frozen. Since then I have had to pull everything out of the fridge and pull off the back to expose the coils to thaw them as well. After I do this again tonight I will have done it 3 times in less than an 8 month period of time. The last time was only 2 months again and last night sure enough the fridge threw an error code again.Holy Cow LG really this is the best you have to offer? My old GE side by side Fridge was less of a hassle and required less attention than this LG has and I had that fridge for 20 years. In fact the side by side that I bought second hand and only paid $150 for has been better fridge than this LG that I paid over $3000 dollars for. If I could I would deliver it to the President of the Companies door step and let him take it apart and thaw it yet again. Wow thanks for the crappy design. I will never, never, never buy another thing that says LG on it or that LG has had anything to do with. Thanks for letting me rant. I hate this Fridge!!!

Run away as fast as you can from any and all LG French Door Refrigerators!
Run away as fast as you can from any and all LG French Door Refrigerators! They are beautiful on the outside but are like a rotten apple full of worms on the inside! We were taken in by its appearance and didn’t realize that its running parts are defective! Reviewing many of the other comments there is a reoccurring theme, that of ice makers, compressors and fluid lines within a 3 year period. Don’t be fooled. LG knows about the problems and defects of this refrigerator, when you call the LG repair number the prompt even asks if you are calling to repair the ice maker!Don’t be misled...this is a disposable refrigerator with a 3 year lifespan! My experience is the same as many of you, ice maker went then the compressor and fluid (in the secret enclosed unit) that only a licensed LG technician can work on and good luck on finding one! I called 16 repairman and all of their responses were similar...I don’t work on those, they are junk, need a special license”. I found one that LG referred me to and he quoted $99.00 to just come out to diagnose the problem. I already have paid a repairman to diagnose the problem, then $600.00 plus to pay for the labor, sure the warranty covers the parts but it’s nearly impossible to get the parts in a timely manner and find a LG licensed repairman.LG Company should be ashamed of how they allow this product to continually go down the assembly line of production “knowing” that the defects have not been addressed. And then appealing to the eye of the consumer while in reality stealing from them. Shame on you LG! I am definitely going to check into an active Class Action Suit against LG so I can be heard. And if youre listening LG...I want a new fridge! You owe me that!

Dishwasher was within one year warranty period. Called for service. Was told someone would call back. Never did. I called back, was told service technician would schedule a day. Never called. I called back. No service in my town and would have to have a review of my issue. Told to call local repair person and they would cover it. I did. They would not ship the part to him and when I called they said hey never authorized it. Said they escalated my repair to another department and would call back. I had to call them back, this was over 4 months. Final call from them was to call Sears and have them cover it under the extended warranty that I purchased as the machine was now over the one year coverage period even though I called well before the year was up.

Kenmore and LG refrigerator have known compressors that fail way before the life of these appliances. I know because mine failed today. I talked to LG and Sears/Kenmore and neither cared. They each blamed the other. My refrigerator is only four years old and I paid over $3,000 for it. I know I am not alone. There is a class action lawsuit against LG for this same problem. I advise that everyone that has this problem join in. Don’t let these companies take advantage of us any longer.

In July 2017 we bought an LG electric/convection double oven stove. Almost as soon as we installed the appliance our first incident with the stove happened. I barely brushed the stove knob and the burner turned on. My husband happened to have his hand on the burner and he felt the heat. That should have been our first warning. Jumped forward to December 27, 2017 @ 6:29 pm. Shortly after my husband had heated up his dinner in the microwave, which is above the stove, I smelled something like plastic burning. I said to my husband I bet you bumped a knob on the stove. He proceeded to the kitchen and when he opened up the door flames and smoke billowed into our living room. Between the two of us we contained the fire and help was on the way.My review regarding this stove cannot be put in stars because they don’t have a negative value. As far as cooking on the stove we had no issues. I loved the double oven. But from our first experience shortly after installation to the night our house caught fire, the knobs were a concern. We have grandchildren who use the microwave... I shudder with the thoughts of what could have happened to them. There were no push then turn knobs, which is a common safety on most stoves, Or the knobs could have been on the back of the stove like some stoves. Now we are facing a total remodel on the kitchen, new cabinets, multiple appliances... etc.Yes, we have insurance but that’s not the issue. This fire could have been prevented if the knobs had a safety feature. I feel for the individuals who have the gas stove. I understand their concern. Gas leak vs fire makes for a bad day. With as many reviews I have read regarding this particular problem, LG should have a recall on this model stoves. Look into rectifying the situation so this does not happen to someone else and turn their world upside down. So as far as LG products are concerned, I’m boycotting them. We even have several other household products but when the stop working, no more LG products in my house. LG needs to step up their quality control on the designs of their kitchen appliances. You should never live in fear of ACCIDENTALLY turning on an appliance.

I hope there is a recall on this washing machine. I paid top dollar for the Worst Machine ever. The machine doesnt dispense enough water to clean the cloth. The cloth has a nasty odor after washing them. The machine itself has a nasty odor as well. I have tried many, many kinds of detergent but nothing seems to help. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NEVER BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS AGAIN.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Had I realized we would receive such poor customer service I never would have gone with LG, we also purchased a 65” LG TV, and washer and dryer. I hope LG will help us with our dilemma.

At less than 2 year of age my LG top-load washer malfunctioned and flooded my house. According to the washer repairman their assembly was such that the washer pressure sensor hose was wrapped around an arm and the vibration caused it to come loose, resulting in the washers inability to sense the water level - so it just kept filling. Not only did LG not stand behind my nearly new washer, this machine is pure junk. I know to watch and check that hose frequently although I can say its never had another issue with the assembly correction. Problem is it just doesnt clean. The water level varies such between loads that I always stand there to make sure enough water flows in to actual get all the items wet. I realize one of the so-called features is less water usage....but seriously if they dont get wet, its hard to clean. I noticed my whites and bright colors look dingy after a few washes, so I started watch closely - this is how I discovered the water issue. I now wash my clothes 2-3 times to get them clean enough...thats sad. I HATE this LG and will never purchase another of their products.

My wife and I had high opinion of LG before we purchased our home appliances including refrigerator, oven and washers from LG. Their product is very unreliable and breaks often and service is very poor and customer agents care less! We are very disappointed with the refrigerator that is a year old and compressor has gone out but repair takes weeks to schedule and to get the necessary parts to fix the issue. We do not recommend LG to anyone and wish we never purchased their products.

On 3/5/16 while cooking a potato in my microwave, the unit started on fire. The microwave shut off and I needed to wait for the fire to burn out before opening the door. It was obvious the unit was irreparable. I contacted LG Customer Service in 3/7/16. At first, they tried to tell me I was to blame. Misuse of an appliance because I placed the potato on a paper towel. The manual states a paper towel, paper napkin, paper plate are ALL acceptable. The CSR refused to believe me until she read it herself. Finally, she agreed I was NOT at fault and told me someone would be in touch with me within the next 10 business days. I uploaded photos of the damage as requested. 10 days later a rep from LG Property and Liability contacted me. Please upload more photos, which I did. Was there any other damage? No. Any loss of life due to the fire? No. Okay, well theres nothing I can do. Youll have to go back to Customer Service. Now Im back to where I started again facing questions about misuse because of the paper towel. I was advised I would need to pay for an LG technician to come to my house to determine if it was repairable or a total loss. I didnt think I should be expected to pay for the technician since I already knew its a total loss and the photos support that. I asked for a manager. Theresa got on the line and told me the same thing except she said I would need the microwave receipt to show the technician. I explained this microwave along with a refrigerator and stove were purchased by the former homeowner just prior to my purchasing the home 3 years ago, so I did not have the receipt. Well, there is NOTHING I can do for you. Youre not the original owner. So after their appliance starts a fire, and 3 weeks of answering their questions, uploading photos, waiting for their assistance, I was advised Im on my own. They will do nothing for me.

I bought my second washer in July 2014 after my 7 year old front loader quit working, I was told control board was bad and LG had quit making board. The LG rep still talked me in to giving them another chance with a new top loader telling me new design and really quiet with good reviews. Now theyve been out 5 times, replaced 3 parts and have been told by 2 repairman from 2 different companies they have no idea what is making this noise that is so loud I cant hear a TV in my great room. Still LG they need to randomly replace more parts because they havent spent enough money yet. In the mean time Im wasting 3 to 4 hours of my time every time they come out.

I purchased a £1000.00 fridge freezer and have it warranted for 5 years, 2 with LG and 3 years with Curry’s. Fridge and freezer not working after 1 year 9 month. Took 8 days to come out and told me compressor was broke, so new one would take 8 day. After having to take a second day off work nobody turned up or called up to fit the new compressor. Phoned engineer who said I should have been called as compressor was broke so would need to order another. Gave me appointment for further 6 days to wait and I couldn’t get shift off so changed it to the Fri instead of the Wed. Appointment booked in.Few days after engineer should have visited a unnecessary part arrived at our home which would not fix freezer as engineer stated it was a compressor needed. Phone company LG use to fix freezer to find out why this part had arrived. Mentioned my appointment on the fri due and was told there was no such appointment. I have had 2 service calls and still not fixed. The 1st service was replacing the sensor, 2nd was motherboard and next appt. will be all circuits/fuses on top of the washer which needs replaced from a continuous leak for long time that has caused rust and the serviceman was shocked when touched the unit. I have missed work for each visit, which thought would take care of the problem and be able to use the washer, month plus later.. Im still waiting for this unit to be fixed. LG is a name brand and it should be out of service this long without getting the washer replaced. I can understand if it were couple years old but this unit is barely over a year old. With all these problems this washer was a lemon from the get go and has never worked properly. When I purchased my first BRAND new washer, I did research and bought top of the line or so I thought I did. This has been huge disappointment and LG service center has been disappointment as well. This should have been replaced with a new one. As a single mother and live from pay to pay, this was a big purchase for me. I have 2 kids and laundry mat is the last place I wish to be spending my time and money considered my washer purchase was over 600 and only year old!!! Time and money and loss work time is VERY FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING! I wish to buy the matching dryer but now Im considering different brand! LG make this right or I spread the word all over the internet media. VERY POOR RATING!!!UPDATE... 2 months later still broke. Will not replace or respond to my 20+ emails to resolutions@lge.com; lg.care@lge.com and website chat was absolutely worthless conversation and would not help me at all! Basically they are live chat with no phone or contact w/lg outside of chat room. So, not sure of their purpose??? ANYWAYS... LG does not care about the consumer. They will not reply! SMH!

Updated on 09/10/2019: Update to my previous post. After a week of having the parts the Puls technician finally showed up and installed a new/different compressor than the original. Install went fine up to the point he told me it required a new software upload before we could plug in the refrigerator, which he has not received yet. Now another day has come and gone with no working refrigerator (two days after replacing the compressor). What a major undertaking this has been! I had to call on behalf of the technician to get the software ordered and Puls is telling me that it was LG that was the hold up. What a nightmare of an ordeal. You would think LG would know the software was a requirement and would have sent it with the compressor. Nope, no such luck! What horrible aftermarket support. Think twice before buying LG... Original Review: I have loved my LG fridge until it stopped working. I called LG and they asked a few question and figure out it was a closed system or compressor issue under warranty. They shipped me all the parts needed (good for LG) but Puls Technologies Inc. dropped the ball and did not have a tech show up as scheduled. So they told me it would be the next day, then they called back and said the soonest would be in three more days on Saturday. My question is, can I get a technician on my own and have them do the repair and send LG the bill? A week without a refrigerator is not a fun thing to deal with. After reading more on LG refrigerators, I see this seems to be an on going issue. Wish I knew this before I bought the fridge and an LG dishwasher. Lets just say, I wont be buying a matching oven and microwave from LG.

WT5001Cw washer purchased on 3/17/12 from Sears. Contacted Sears within 1st year to say washer would not dispense hot water. Sent tech out and was told LG said working according to specs. Tech told me to purchase extended warranty so machine would have to be replaced if 4 service calls were made in 1st year for same problem. I did that and then Sears said it didnt apply because LG said working according to specs. After Sears sent 4 technicians out over a period of 1 1/2 years and after the 1st year manufacturer warranty ran out, I was told that nothing could be done.My argument is: I should have been told at purchase or stated in the manual that the machine would not dispense water above 98 degrees, even though it had a hot water selection on it. 98 degrees scientifically is considered lukewarm and the machine will not go above 98 degrees which prohibits me from killing microorganisms in bed linens and bacteria in reusable baby diapers. Sears would not help me and referred me to LG. LG said they cant do anything because the machine is past the 1st year warranty, even though I contacted Sears, who contacted LG within that 1st year. Sears continued to send technicians out with non-workable ideas to get hot water when the bottom line was, it is impossible to get hot water. The machine mixes cold water even when the setting is on hot. I have written to Sears CEO Eddie Lampert and LG corporate office and received responses Sorry but we cant help you with this problem.

Like others have mentioned, the lint filter on the dryer lifts up on the corner where the clothes land as they tumble. This causes clothes to catch on the corner of the filter and get destroyed. This also allows more lint to get through past the filter, causing lint to buildup inside the dryer and in the ducts leading outside your home. Weve lost countless articles of clothing. We have replaced the lint filter, but it still sticks out and catches clothes.

I purchased this machine for 962$ 3 years ago and it is the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. It is locked up now with a load of clothes in it and the electronics are completely dead. It will not respond to any reset even though it has power. They want to send a technician to the house at my expense. I dont want to invest any more money into this machine because even when it was working it was a lousy machine. I will never buy another LG product. I will advise all of my friends of this experience. I just wish I had visited the online reviews and read about other peoples experiences with LG before my purchase. They have a very poor reputation.

From the very beginning, the freezer door pops open slightly when the fridge door is closed. It isnt always noticed until water puddles up on the floor. The hose to the ice maker has been fixed 7 or 8 times because it keeps splitting. The ice maker jams up and wont release the ice. Today, I woke up to water all over the floor. There was no power to the whole unit. I checked the outlet and there was power. I cant get a hold of a repairman.

My LG 3650 washer lasted 40 months, with a 2 person household. Died, needs a $700 repair of the modular control panel at the back. I contacted LG to ask how this could happen, and they wrote back that they would pray for me (honest - we see youre dissatisfied... youre in our prayers). They offered no advice as to why the washer failed, or what to do other than an expensive service company 100 miles away. DONT buy these appliances. Ever.

This dishwasher takes 2 hours to run a cycle! With a 2 hour cycle, you would expect spotless dishes. What a joke. I never have dishes that come clean in this dishwasher. The spaces between the tines are poorly spaced so that I am forced to use every other space or the dishes rest against one another. It holds about 1/2 the dishes that my old Kenmore held and doesnt get the dishes clean at all. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I have tried everything to get it to clean better. I run dishwasher cleaner through it all the time. I turned my hot water heater up to scalding to try to improve its performance. I have used pre-treater, rinse aid, different detergents, etc. It is just plain awful! I wish I had read these reviews before I bought this piece of junk. Never again! Im going back to Kenmore.

I purchased my LG washer in January of this year and I couldnt be more disappointed! Im constantly getting the UE (unbalanced) code when it tries to spin so then it fills back up with water and tries to automatically rebalance itself - which never works - and what a huge waste of water!!! I have to stand over my washer and constantly rearrange my clothes numerous times until it works and sometimes it doesnt if the load is small. Actually you cant even do a small load in this machine due to this problem. I end up going old school and wringing out my clothes by hand! I so wish I had my old washer back as this is awful. I wouldnt recommend this washer to anyone.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

I Jaiprakash ** had purchased two product from LG Shoppe situated at Mira Road East, franchise of Malaika Electronic at Sector 1, Shanti Nagar, Mira Road East, Thane. In January, 15, 2015 had purchased three door refrigerator and the complaint is still pending. The reason the LG mira road service centre is ruthless and useless and just want to mint money from the customer by delaying to give service during warranty period and once the warranty period is over, they are free to mint money from the customer. The deep freezer is getting choked with ice and we could see the ice growing like mountain at middle of the deep freezer. The complaint falls to deaf ear and the mail falls to blind eye. No response from the LG service centre, cause they are just waiting when the one year expiry is getting over and when we can mint money.Secondly had purchased LG 10.5 kg washing machine and the dryer is giving problem. The clothes are not fully dried as compared to other brand and the customer service provider informs saying thoda to gila rahega, then how come other brand machine resolves the problem fully and the clothes are dried fully. Not ready to listen about other brand product. Cause it hurts their ego. Almost wasted 67000/- and feel I have been cheated by giving a defective item both end. and the worst part after messaging the senior guy ASM ** he too acts as deaf and blind. So one can understand how junior will react to the customer. Seriously upset with the product and wasted my hard earned money. Dont know whether I have purchased a LG product or a LOW Grade Product. God bless them and give some brain to work with innocent people.

I have logged complaint nearly 2 month back regarding lg 258 litres gl-d292rpjl(pg) frost free double door fridge. In which company has not supplied two major accessories like two steel zig zag rods for holding 1.5 liter cold drinks bottles and one chiller door was missing. We observed that main accessories was missing or stolen from fridge. In 2 months the company response was very poor to resolve that issue. One side that mnc is spending scores of rupees in advertisement and another side they are cheating with customer by supplying defective home appliances.Company representative telling me that fridge is not having that accessories but that can be proved clearly by given image that are missing. Now I will take that issue with consumer forum. I have purchased that on 25 Aug 2014 after seeing all the specification of that model. Now company not taking my issue seriously. They are saying that they have updated that model. Please tell me if that model is modified then how that places are vacant in my fridge which is clear in picture. Dealer is also agree to pay the amount of that attachment/Accessories to company but company now telling that accessories are not available. It is total disappointed if that accessories not available then why they are producing that model. Do the needful as soon as possible otherwise I will defame your lg product in social media and it will cost you badly. If you are serious for your company image then resolve that issue as soon as possible.

I bought the largest refrigerator with an ice crusher to provide ice and food for my disabled husband. He is disabled with Parkinsons from exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. I am his sole caregiver. He is on many medications and a special diet so I needed a reliable refrigerator. At first this unit was great but the condenser died and we lost all our food and his medications. We had bought the LG long term warranty. Their warranty department is not connected to their service department but their service department does not have the warranty information. After many calls for 2 weeks to both warranty and service departments they finally sent a service provider who took another 2 weeks to fix the unit. The service provider did not receive good information from LG and kept asking for information that I did not have. Finally, the refrigerator was fixed. Two months later the refrigerator is not cooling again. Again I am having to call both warranty and service departments. It has been a week since the unit broke and the warranty and service departments have not even called a service provider to fix the refrigerator. I learned last time I have to call everyday to get results. Their call center is in the Philippines so their English is very difficult to understand so I have to ask them to repeat almost everything which is frustrating to me and to the call center operators so we do not get along. Both these situation have been very costly in loss of food and medications and frustrating in their inefficiency in dealing with broken refrigerators. Isnt that what they are there for? Why isnt their system designed to immediately deal with warranty needs????

LG stackable washer/dryer, apartment size, high end - I thought! Two years later, a bunch of drywall have been replaced due to a bad washer install (Best Buy) and 5 visits later from the service team for the dryer, I am tired. No more LG anything ever. The dryer is so poorly designed (its the vent less model - dont buy one) that it takes a team of techs to pull the unit out of the area its in just to press a button to reset the thermostat. Its had three new computer boards in 2 years. The techs pulled the dryer all apart last visit and replaced the entire thermostat rather than just reset it. That was a couple of months ago and it just went south again today. It overheated then stopped dead. I am lucky I bought a service contract from Sears. They have been great, but I hope they just replace the unit soon. Its costing them a fortune to repair. Cheaply made appliances are keeping many techs employed these days it seems. LG? No, never again. And yes, their help desk was useless when I had the 1-year warranty. Now poor Sears has to come out and visit more often than I want them to come. I dont understand why any appliance store would stock items that repeatedly fail.

After 20 months my LG fridge with an inverter linear compressor failed. LG customer service is terrible, as I have to wait 7 days for a tech to look at the fridge to determine the failure.... it’s the compressor... No cooling in both freezer and fridge compartments, all fans are running. I’m one of many unsatisfied customers! Had I known the reliability of the inverter compressor was this low I would have purchased the fridge! I hope there are some lawyers out there with similar failure of their fridge and consider a class action law suit against LG Electronics. The inverter compress design is faulty and all customers should be given the choice of having it fixed (only to fail again in 18 months) or a total refund of our purchase. STAY AWAY FROM LG INVERTER COMPRESSORS OR LG!

We bought our LG Refrigerator in 2015 when we built our new house. We spent over 2k on this new refrigerator. It was fine until July 2019. Thats when it suddenly stopped working. LG sent out a service tech to repair the fridge. He replaced the compressor and other interior parts the first time. This did not fix the fridge. He came back out a second time (about a week later) and replaced the fan in the upper part of the fridge. It finally worked. Fast forward to May 2020... The fridge completely stops working again. We unplugged it and left it unplugged for a few hours. After plugging it back in, it started working again. Fast forward to Jan. 2021... Horrible sounds coming from the fan in the top part of the fridge. The next day, the fridge stops working AGAIN!! This is absolutely ridiculous. A $2000 fridge that cannot work properly for even 5 years!! LG should be ashamed of themselves. These fridges were supposed to last at least 20 years and I have already had to have it repaired. It is frustrating having to keep unplugging it and moving it all around to try and get it to work again. Not to mention the food in the fridge and freezer compartments need to be moved or left to spoil.

Two days before thanksgiving 2019 our three year old LG fridge stopped cooling. Two weeks later when the tech shows up he informed us the compressor had failed. Two days before Christmas it stopped cooling again. Supposed to be fixed January 16. We are currently using an Igloo cooler. I purchased a brand new LG washing machine and dryer approximately 3 years ago. I have a family of three - we never do large loads. I have never placed anything other than clothing in it. I do not wash rugs or large blankets or comforters. I have those professionally cleaned. Recently the washing machine began making really loud noises so I called a service technician. He tells the stainless steel basket has somehow become bent. I was told that there is a lifetime warranty on it as it should never bend with normal use. He suggested that it may have been defective to begin with. I called LG service center and was told it was in fact covered but of course they have no LG technicians in my area to install this basket and referred me to their authorized technicians. It will cost over $600 to replace this basket. When I explained to the rep that that cost was near what it would cost to purchase a new washing machine, she said there was nothing they could do. I have owned several homes and several rental properties and I never had a washing machine stop working after 3 years even with the worst tenants using them. I take care of my appliances and I am appalled that after only 3 years of less than average use, their product will cost $600 to repair. I will purchase a new washing machine and will never purchase an LG product again.

I purchased my new LG washer and dryer in Sept. of 2016. Several months later we noticed the dryer not heating well. It would not even dry a load in 2 hours. I got use to hanging the clothes, and put towels outside to dry. I had to call LG service 3 different times over a 5 month period. They did everything to avoid sending a repairman over. All they would do was tell me to try something different each time. 1) dont use energy saver 2) lint in dryer 3) coil on back of dryer was too long. Last week I spent over 45 minutes on the phone demanding a repairman. FINALLY one came out. It was the heating element. It was not working. This type of service is unacceptable. This may be a great product. We were just unlucky to receive a defect. Customers are not to be treated as though we are idiots.

Why the heck would I spend over $1000 with the 5-year warranty that Home Depot sold me for a machine that only lasted 90 days before a major repair happened? Its not Home Depots fault but the stores have got to start calling out these companies who are selling inferior products and charging an arm and a leg for them. I now have a repair that took 3 days for a service tech to come out, only to tell me that it will be 5 days or more before the part is in and then they will call and schedule the repair. I understand how repairs might happen but strangely, I had a Maytag that did the same thing at the 90-day mark too! It went on to have 3 other major repairs such as leaking all over my floor and ruining the wood (was a slow leak I could not see because it was under the machine), control panel stopped working at 90 days, would not clean dishes and the final straw was another control panel replacement. All under 1 year. So I got HD to take it back and give me a new machine and guess what I picked out??? LG... big mistake. I did not buy a machine like this to have no working dishwasher after 90 days. I will never buy another LG product. I guess customer retention is not important to this company!

We purchased a LG TROMM Washer in Jan. 2007 (WM2487h*M) and we should have known better as we had to trade it out within the first few days of purchase because the water was filling up in the drum after the rinse cycle and the symbol FE was displayed. Luckily, Best Buy exchanged it for a new one without hesitation and it was almost as if they had already been down this path before with several customers. Fast forward less than five years later and the same thing has happened. We just spent $640 on repairs including a new water pump, a new water valve and a new memory board for this hunk of junk of a washer. In hindsight we should have just bought a new machine as the warranties had all expired. The guarantee for the new memory board is for two years supposedly, but we have yet to see paperwork from the registered LG repairman. Although he did state that the new memory board was registered with LG. I guess well just need to keep pressing them on this until we see something in writing.

The reefer we bought is a clone of the French door bottom freezer machine that we have had at another house for several years. We especially like the ice maker built into the door and not using volume in the reefer box. We purchased the floor model from the Kona Lowes. The day after our kids left Kona, I noticed that my Cheerios milk was not quite as cold as it should be. There was a heavy frost build up in the refrigerated section and that section would only get to about 42F. The freezer and ice maker were working just fine. The folks at the warranty call center are polite and on the surface appear to be helpful, but after we hung up I feel like my issue dropped into a Black Hole. It sounds like that they could be located on the sub continent. At first they told me the machine was not in warranty because it was manufactured several years earlier. A copy of my receipt cleared that up.It seems that LG only has 1 authorized repair dude on The Big Island and when I called in the first week of August he was in AL for reefer school. Upon his return, I tried to contact him by phone and text to set up an appointment to have hands laid on our machine. With daily attempts on my part, sometimes several times a day, he only responded twice. I went back to LG customer service with my tales of woe and they located a repair dude in Kona and I contacted him. Several days later, he laid hands and then he contacted LG for the warranty parts. However, when LG put him on my job, they did not provide him with a Repair Authorization number. Without a RA#, he could not order the warranty parts. Since he is a one man shop and had other business to handle, I took up the battle to get the RA# to him. It appears that the Customer and Warranty service desks at LG are not connected electronically to the folks that issue RA#s. When I started my quest for the RA#, I was told that one would be issued in 24 to 48 hours. After 48 hours and no RA#, I called again and was told that they would have to walk to the back room to check on the progress. After their trip to the back room, I was told that another 24 to 48 hours would be needed. I then asked for the supervisor, and was connected to a lady that sounded like she could be in AL, where LG America is located. A RA# was sent to my Kona dude and he immediately ordered up the part, but he informed me that LG was notoriously slow in shipping parts. He was correct. I think that they walked the part to Kona rather than using a USPS flat rate box that gets things from MD to HI in 4 days or less. The part arrived, an appointment was set and the part was installed in less than 20 minutes. This was 2 months and 2 days after my first contact with LG. During this time, we could keep some stuff in the reefer, but not milk. Me not having Cheerios 5 days a week did not make me a cheery person... About mid way through my phone marathon with LG, I went to their Contact Us link on their web page and sent them a message listing my woes and displeasure with their Customer Service. They replied and asked if I would like to participate in a forum. I said, Sure, and was immediately informed that the forum was not longer available. There has yet to be a follow up to the Contact Us issue. I was expecting a post repair message asking to rate their service. It has now been almost 2 months since the service and the only thing in my Inbox for LG are notes telling me that they want to sell me an extended warranty... As nice as their machinery features and pricing are, their Customer Service has turned us off to looking towards LG for future appliances. I hope that you never have to call that 800 number that ends in 0000.

We purchased this LG French Door Refrigerator model LFXS29626 November 5,2015 from Home Depot, noticed the ice cream and pizzas were not staying frozen, later unit not making ice. Called LG customer support line, which is totally a waste of time, since the first call out of the three millions thereafter, I still have a non working refrigerator. No service center wants to work on LG products, the most recorded reason is LG never wants to sent the part and if by some miracle they do it had taken months to receive. I have never experienced this kind of customer service on anything I have ever purchased nor have I ever wrote a review. I would hope no one has to experience the frustration that we have with this unit. I would never even think of purchasing an LG product ever.

All of the knobs for this supposedly high end range (LRG30357ST) are poorly designed. The knobs are plastic covered with a very thin film of silver colored material, the back has a plastic sleeve instead of metal. The silver film blisters and shrivels and the plastic sleeve splits so the knobs arent secure on the shaft. The company has upgraded the knobs on the newer ranges but they wont work on this range as the shaft hole is reversed so they sit upside down. The only replacement knobs are the same crappy ones as the original. This range was in the new home we purchased. It was manufactured in 1-10 in Mexico.

I bought an LG Refrigerator #LFC25770 in November 2008. I paid over $1,500.00 for the French door style with bottom drawer freezer. The compressor keeps coming on and then clicks right off. The freezer thawed and the refrigerator no longer cooled. After doing research online, find that the cause might be the starter relay. I tried to order the part and it is no longer available. You now have to replace the relay, thermostat and compressor; should have been a warning that LG has had this issue before. I called LG customer service since the sealed system was still under warranty for parts. They gave me several contacts that did the warranty service for them. However, no one comes out to my location. I called LG back and they gave me several more names. I called all and once again either they dont service LG or they dont come to my area. Again, I called LG who gave me more names and numbers. Did I mention the time I was wasting and the cost of long distance calls? I was told it was my problem since nobody would come out. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was hung up on. I called back and asked for a supervisor and was transferred and explained the issues with LG and he said he would make the calls and try to find someone. To say I am not happy with LG would be putting it mildly. The products and the service suck.

I purchased an LG washer 22 months ago and it was wonderful initially. I started to notice that it was taking longer than usual to complete loads. Maybe 20 to 30 minutes. Then it stopped. I have an extended warranty and called to have it repaired. The front panel needed replaced. I went (5) weeks waiting for one of the 6 parts to come in and every time I would call the repair place was being blamed. It finally slipped out that the part was held up. I was told not to call back until I have been without a washer for a month and then they would replace it. I would be responsible for paying delivery, having it installed and the price difference since it has depreciated. Well the part arrive 2 days prior to the one month period. The front panel was replaced, put in my first load, washed it, second load the signal came on that the front panel was not working. I am in the same place I started a month ago. I did call LG and they told me not to call them, I was to call the place I purchased the washer from. HELP or is there none???

Then the compressor had went out after less than 4 years. The authorized service shop for northern Utah is Mark-A-Newt. They will not work on a LG fridge anymore. They said that in the last year they have only been paid once for the work they have done for LG, and they dont know of anyone who will work on them. They advised us not to buy another one. We have had to wait a week for the service call. Very disappointed with Lowes and LG.Updated on 08/14/2015: It seems as if we are nothing to Lowes or LG. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.

We purchased a stainless French door refrigerator just over two years ago. We have had no issues until recently. We noticed that one of exterior door panels has rust bleeding through the finish from top to bottom on just the one door. We purchased an extended warranty through Lowe’s. I was told it was cosmetic and therefore not covered. The warranty company suggested I contact LG to see if maybe they would do something to make it right. I called LG and explained the situation. The representative did not apologize or offer any kind of support. She just simply told me that it was a cosmetic issue and not their problem. I began to explain how crappy it was of them after I placed trust in their company when I chose to spend over $3k on fridge, she just hung up. Never again LG.

Unless you are willing to put 2 sheets in with your delicates, and that sometimes doesnt work, it is impossible to wash a small load. It takes hours to complete a wash load due to the off balance signal. You actually have to babysit the washer. I often take the wash out still heavily wet to hang on a line. I bought my LG fridge in 2017 and my wife and I woke up to the dreaded compressor failure on it this Sat morning. After reading the reviews on here we were prepared for a horrible experience and to have to go without a fridge/freezer for months with two young kiddos!! I was ready to swear off LG just as other reviewers on here, but here is the abbreviated details of what happened. * Called customer service on Sat. (Was nice to them when I called). * Was told there was an open time slot for this Monday (today) for tech to take a look. * My expectation based on reviews here was tech would show up; explain it would be a month for the part to come in and uff.... * Tech showed up today. Michael who works for LG direct service. He not only had a compressor on him to replace the default one but had all the tools to get it done today. He was very professional and and explained to me contrary to other reviews on here that LG has upgraded and improved their software and the compressors so hopefully this will not happen again. Only took him about 90min to get it all fixed as he knew his stuff! * Fridge is fixed and running only two days after I first called customer service on a weekend at no cost on labor or parts. I don't write many reviews on anything but feel that this was deserving as I'm sure others had valid unpleasant experiences, but mine was a very positive one. If anyone else has this issues don't hit the panic button based on other's reviews. I don't know if it helped the cause but I was very calm and understanding when I called them to explain the problem as well. Products are going to have issues but I will judge a company based on how they deal with those problems and LG handled this very professional and I am very satisfied. Hopefully this repair holds up but if not if they deal with it the same way this one went they will retain me as a customer on future purchases. I do really like the fridge as well so 5 stars both for the fridge as well as the service.

I have never had such a horrible oven to cook on. Burners are impossible to heat up, when they eventually heat up its impossible to turn them down. You cant control the temperature. Another thing I think is really odd is the oven light. My model has an 2 ovens with the convection oven on the bottom. We purchased LG french door refrigerator LFXS29626W from Home Depot on 11/17/15 for over $2000. We loved the refrigerator until 9/14/18 when we discovered the refrigerator was not cooling, the ice maker not working, the freezer not working, and food in the freezer thawed. My husband spent many hours on the phone, only to find nobody willing to service LG refrigerators. Upon reviewing the horror stories experienced by very, very many other owners of LG refrigerators, we decided to simply cut our losses and purchased a new Kitchen Aid refrigerator from a local family owned store. Our over $2000, less than 3 year old LG refrigerator will be going to the recycler. It is most disappointing to see LG show such lack respect for their customers who have spent their hard earned money on this product. It seems apparent from all the reviews that LG has known for sometime that their product was defective, but where is their effort for correction. We will not ever purchase another LG product again and have advised everyone we know of our experience.

When I contacted them I had been told that LG will send a person to review the issue. But the repair person showed up from Total Global (sub Contracted by LG) and advised that compressor is the issue and not repairable. Since we paid for new fridge I dont want repairing by changing new compressor and requested a new fridge as replacement. There were no follow up calls or update. I made several calls to their customer service department and been told only solution that we have to repair and awful customer service representative telling me to listen to her. Fridge stopped cooling so we called LG on July 23. They made an appt for their service contractor Lake Appliance on Friday July 26. I called Lake to inquire if they had parts and they said they have typical parts on the truck. When they arrived, Lakes service technician checked and confirmed it wasnt working, and that they needed a part which wouldnt be there until the following Friday Aug 2. On Aug 2 he installed the part and did some other work to clear out the cooling system, but 24 hrs later it was not cooling at all. Room temperature. He said that they would need to get a new evaporator coil which would take a week, so we would need to wait until Monday Aug 12. I called Lake to see what could be done, they said there was nothing they could do -- they need the part and to get the technician scheduled. Called LG next day (Sat) to see what could be done, they said nothing could be done. I asked the LG rep for a manager and they said the manager was in a meeting and would call me back in about 45 minutes. I finally called them 2.5 hrs later (they never called) and was informed that there is no manager working that day at all, they only work Mon-Fri. I told them that was odd, that there is no supervisor working that day at all, because earlier they told me the manager would call me back. So, here we are on Mon Aug 12 and Lakes technician called in sick. So I need to wait until Fri Aug 16 now. 3-1/2 weeks without a fridge, and I am not convinced that replacing the evap coil will fix the problem. Extremely disappointed in LG and their service company. First LG fridge I have purchased and expected better.

We loved our LG French door refrigerator with water dispenser. However, like many reviews here, it stopped cooling after only 20 months. After two weeks of reporting and checking on the repair request, we still don’t have an appointment to repair and a customer service supervisor hung up on us even when I politely suggested that No, I couldn’t wait an additional 24-48 hours for an appointment. When I contacted three area appliance repair services they said they won’t fix LGs unless we pay their labor costs and apply for reimbursement for parts from LG. LG presented a visually impeccable top loading washer. I was impressed with its sleek look, detailed function keys, and seemingly user-friendliness. I purchased this sleek machine from Lowe’s and parked the box in my basement anticipating opening day. As life would have it, I didnt have the big reveal until almost two months later. Opening night was great. Old Kenmore was removed after 15 years. I was due for an upgrade, I believed. LG was it! Water hooked, check; machine leveled, check. All components checked and re-checked. And then we tried a load. The auto select set me up to wash for more than an hour, but I looked beyond that. I questioned the few drops of detergent needed as well as the few drops of water the machine used, but I looked beyond those too. I walked away and was summoned back to my laundry room by the banging of this beaut in the spin cycle. The machine almost met me at the stairs; its movements were so profound! We checked, doubled, tripled everything - the very spot where my Kenmore sat for years was no longer good enough for King LG. We must have done something wrong, so we tried again. After all, this was an LG!That was enough for me! Returned this fabulous looking useless piece of junk to Lowe’s who informed me that their return policy was seven days on appliances! I called LG, per Lowe’s instructions. Both LG and Lowe’s suggested a repair man. To repair what?? The once-used over buttoned, fab looking ornament? Disgusting! LG should be ashamed of this pile of junk and should stick to what they know. These corporations, including the retailers who carry these over priced inferior products have no integrity and should be held accountable! Im not done with Lowe’s or LG! This is way more than about money! But do not waste yours, please...

We purchased an electric range, model LRE3012ST, on October 27, 2012, a top of the line model electric range. On the second day, we noticed that one burner when turned off did not show the HS indicating the surface was still hot. This is a safety feature to tell the consumer not to go near the burner since its still dangerously hot. We had two service calls over the next four weeks, and the technician would replace circuit boards. In both repairs the problem became worse, meaning other problems occurred besides still having the original issue. After the technician left the second time telling us he would call back when he had new parts, I decided to call Home Depot; and to make a long story short, LG called two days later and said they would deliver a new range. We received the new range on Dec. 22, 2012. And today, January 8, 2013, after having used the oven, we are unable to turn the oven off. The only way to turn it off is to pull the range from the wall and unplug it. My next call very shortly will be to Home Depot and demand they take this range; and I want it replaced with another range, but not an LG. I dont know where this range is made, but I will guess its China or the parts are made in China. And once again, China screws the American consumer.

I have an LG top loading washer purchased 8 months ago. On 12/26/2012, it quit working during a load of laundry. It is locked and full of water. This Wednesday, it has been three weeks! It smells bad and the clothes are molding. LG will not call me back. The store I purchased it from is trying to fix it. They have been to the house two times. Still waiting! LG product I will ever purchase!

There are multiple accounts on this forum of electrical arcing of the wiring to the warming drawer of various LG range models manufactured around 2007, however I cannot get any resolution through web searches and LGs customer service is non-responsive to my issue. Our range (LG model LSC5622BW) arched out inside the warming drawer cabinet at the electrical connectors to the warming element and burnt the adjacent drawer itself, and didnt trip the circuit breaker. The warming drawer was off at the time and we have never used it/turned it on so it seems rather unsafe that it would be energized to the element and be capable of arching? This was one of the same series of LG electric ranges that had the stove top element controls recall issue, for which we had the motherboard replaced a few years ago. These are not cheap appliances and brings into question the compliance with the applicable electrical safety codes. Anyone know if there is any means of recourse for safety issues with an appliance that are out of warranty?
