I was disappointed to find my refrig was aluminum instead of the stated stainless steel. To check yours apply a magnetic to it. If it sticks, it is steel. If it doesnt, it is probably aluminum. It is so hard to keep clean and I can no longer keep my recipes or keepsakes or photos on it. Although the sides are not aluminum they are too closed in to use. As far as the workings go, it seems to be working fine. However it is only a few months old. I have only one complaint so far. It cost 50$ to replace the water filter every 6 mo. Whats with that? I never had to replace it on my old one and had no problems. Of course it wasnt an LG. Then I read that you have to have a LG repair man only to repair it. Not very customer friendly. I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Ill know better next time...
I chose the LG refrigerator because I had done a lot of research and it was the best one of all. It is large and can hold most of our groceries with no issues. All I wanted it to do was hold groceries and it has more than met that expectation. It has a door that separates and lets you have more storage for more items. The freezer is huge and has a lot of room. I am able to find things I need quickly and easily. It is the best refrigerator I have ever had. Its nice and I am very happy with it. I cannot think of much I would want to improve. Maybe making the ice maker faster is something as it can be very slow and I am impatient. Sometimes it doesnt stay as cold as I would like but it is very easy to fix.
I like the freezer. It has a lot of space to store different things in it. I can fit a ton of ice cream in it. I also like the shelving in it. It has tons of space to store whatever I need. But I dislike the design. I feel like there should be more controls. It should be more futuristic like have a smart display like some other refrigerator. But this refrigerator does an excellent job of keeping all our groceries cool. It was a nice refrigerator and it fits our budget at the time. I still would have like to go with a more premium model. But for now this is one of the best refrigerator. If I could change something about this refrigerator it would be to have an even bigger freezer than what we have now, right now its fine but it always good to have more space or if the ice machine could produce ice faster.
Loved the size and look of this double door bottom freezer, made a little noise from time to time after 6 months in the freezer section, no big deal, very occasional... One morning 18 months after purchase while trying to make lunches and manage the usual morning routines of all work of families with kids, found all food soft or going soft in freezer!! Food in fridge was cool but not usual cold. Temp readings still said 0 for freezer and 37 for fridge... I called dealer who sold it to us, of course, Not his problem. Called LG who initially insisted I had a smart diagnosis feature which I did not, another 20 min wasted, finally a repairman comes over. Spends 10 min and tells us it will be almost $400 to fix for a new fan and compressor???? What??? I just bought this thing!! LG, you must be kidding me... not buying into your company anymore. Like EVER.
I purchased an LG front load washer WM2277HS 6-8 years ago. Yes it has been a good machine, but now has to be thrown in the trash as the display assembly board which runs the product is no longer available! Part # 6871ER 2708A WHAT? I have tried everywhere to get a part or substitute part with no luck. I had a technician come from Sears who ordered the wrong part which fit the unit but the wiring jacket was different.I tried to order that part again today, (6 months later) thinking I could rewire the part myself. SHOCK! That part was no longer available as well. In fact there was a long list of Display Assembly Boards no longer available for LG products! The technician I talked to stated that LG was notorious for this problem! Sorry LG. Your customer service rely that things go wrong with electronic equipment from time to time is a lame excuse! I have no problem with it having an issue. I do have a problem with not being able to get replacement parts! Pitiful! CONSUMER BEWARE!
My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.
Evaporator defrost cycle and drain hole freeze up: LG design flaw allows ice build-up, which in turn leads to fan damage or stoppage that stops cold air from reaching the upper section. If this condition is not corrected by unplugging the drain hole, the water that normally goes down into the catch pan to be evaporated away ends up dripping through the bottom freezer cooling vents and freezing to the bottom freezer floor. The only way to correct this is to remove the back plastic cover and expose the evaporator coil where the ice build-up must be melted and removed, along with defrosting the drain hole so that water is allowed to flow freely again. Attach a small copper wire to the heating line, which is just under the evaporator coil, and thread it down into the drain hole. This will help to keep the hole open by transferring some heat to the drain hole during the defrost cycle, thus melting any ice that has built up during the cooling cycle. There are some excellent YouTube instructions online on how to remove all the plastic parts without doing damage. Good luck.
I have had several LG washing machines and have always like them. They are reliable, last forever and can handle many types of loads in it, from heavy items, bedding or delicate. The only issue I have with mine now is sometimes it cannot balance itself. I then have to do it myself.
We bought an LG Studio top of the line and are having issues with interior light bulb keeps burning out. Meat probe doesnt work. Uneven oven heating, the first call to LG was Sept 15th and they were going to send someone out, second call was Sept 25th, again they were waiting to send a technician out. Third call Oct 2nd, Nathan the customer service advisor promised he would get back to me by the end of the day with a resolution... Still waiting and it is Oct 3rd mid day. WE WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANY LG PRODUCT AGAIN.
LG20770ST french door 19.7 30 refrigerator - Less than 2 years old, a flimsy 1.5 inch spring on left door flap broke. Fortunately bought 5-year ext. warr. at R.C. Willey. Submitted claim on Willey site on 7/21/14, but had to call after 1 week. Service co. had 3 parts on backorder from LG with no ETA. (3 parts for a tiny spring? I sent them pics with claim). After 2 wks called Willey ext warr dept. They are very nice and helpful. They contacted LG, found the part irreplaceable (DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE) and Willey is replacing the refrigerator with the same model. This is the only one I found that fits in my tiny area. I have to buy a new warranty ($129 for 5 years), but worth it as the replacement may have the same problem and I may find myself in the same situation a couple years from now. Another problem with this fridge is there is no sensor on the ice maker for when the freezer drawer is open, and if you have bad timing the ice maker releases the ice even though the drawer is pulled out. Results are you are digging the ice from below the drawer. Who designed this thing? Long story short, save yourself a lot of trouble and buy a different brand.
My washing machine worked perfectly fine until LG decided to do their famous recall fix.... in which they insisted that we have done or our warranty would be null and void. What they should have said is, “We know you bought this top of the line washing machine, and it works fine but throw it in the trash bc when we send someone out to do this mandatory update, it will NOT work at all!!!!! Sign me up for any class action suit against them.... I have a family of 7 and a washing machine that is not functioning is not an option!!!!
I wanted to let everyone know that there is a class action lawsuit for the refrigerators with the light not going out. It has been settled. Our four-year-old refrigerator (LG Refrigerator Model No. LCF25760SW with French doors) is having ice maker problems too. There are no repairmen in our area. It leaked water out into the floor while we were at work and caused floor damage. I ordered another ice maker from someone that LG recommended. It still has problems. Home Depot is where I bought it, but I cant get them to give me a repairmans phone number either. I will never ever buy another LG product again as long as I live. If you live in the middle of nowhere, dont buy LG products! They are not worth the price at all or the trouble.
Purchased new LG side by side from Home Depot in fall of 2012. Rust started appearing under the water/ice maker after the 1 year warranty had passed. The shelves also started to break about that time. It looks disgusting and I called LG for remedy and they said for me to do regular maintenance! Now I have moved to another home that has stainless appliances and cannot use this white fridge. Who wants it now... No one due to the rust on the front. Horrible experience.
Hundreds of thousands of these machines were recalled for going out of balance however mine was not the correct serial number even though it had the same problem. LG was useless at helping and none of the local service repair people would even touch an LG appliance unless they sold it themselves and even then they preferred not to work on them. I had to throw the washer away even though it was less than two years old (it started going uneven after 14 months so my one year warranty was no good). Never buy an LG anything.
It appears we are far from alone in this mess. Our refrigerator is not even three years old yet and the ice maker has ceased to work. Called twice — two different sets of instruments. Not enough words.
I have had four repairmen come out to work on this refrigerator. It has had a new computer board and compressor installed---and STILL does not cool like a refrigerator should. After the most recent install of those components, the LED light stopped working in the refrigerator. I started to look for the part to replace it--but did a diagnostic test on the refrigerator. Sure enough, the light came on again? A day later, the light went off. Did another diagnostic reset, and the light works again. Long story short, this refrigerator has become a nuisance. It is supposed to be a NEWER refrigerator that simply WORKS. It is supposed to keep your food cold. It is supposed to not be a hassle. LG has a long way to go when it comes to making a solid nuts and bolts refrigerator. If you buy an LG refrigerator, be sure to have a second one on hand in case your food spoils.
While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.
I used to love LG products; however, my wife and I bought an LG refrigerator along with an LG washer, dryer, microwave, and dishwasher. Our refrigerator stopped cooling all together. After trying to do the simply things LG suggests, we had to call for service. Called on Thursday the 12th and they scheduled an appointment for Monday the 16th 1-5pm. I called the service company on Friday to confirm and they said there was nothing scheduled. Called LG and they set us up with another service provider; however, the earliest they could be out was Tuesday the 24th. Spent 55 mins on the phone with LG and they said they cant do anything else and the line to the service scheduling department is down. When they work they are great. When they break while still under warranty its not worth it. Buy a different companys product. Thanks.
I want everyone to know how LG handles their two year warranties. My unit was in use for 9 months before dying. Oh and this is not the first problem I have had with other LG products. So, HERE is the email they sent me today after spending a tremendous amount of time on the phone with them already. Anyone that knows me knows that I DONT have time.We are sorry to learn that you recently experienced a service problem with your LG Product. In an effort to demonstrate our concern, we are offering you reimbursement equal to the original purchase price as shown on your sales receipt. This reimbursement certificate is valid for ninety (90) days from the above date. In order to receive your reimbursement, please carefully follow the below instructions. 1. THEY ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO FORCE ME TO GO BUY ANOTHER LG BEFORE REFUNDING and if I did do that, which I wont (!!!) I am absolutely sure they will find some error and say they never received it and that will be the end of that. BUYER BEWARE.
Purchased refrigerator in 2012, LFX31925ST. Start with pros. Purchase for the large space and front features. I have purchased many of LG products. The customer service is ok, but they dont stand by their product... From day one I had an issue with the ice maker followed by the motor make noise. Not to mention the glide server drawer stopped sliding, it seems like the cheap plastic wheel broke off. Well they came out to service motor, but said ice maker was not part the warranty! They replaced the motor, but two years later the unit stopped cooling and freezing. Guess what?? The motor stopped. I called for the same issue. They want charge for service $400. I had the product for only 5 years and already is giving out like its 20 years old. What makes it worst is they dont stand by their product. Dont be fooled by their 10-year warranty. It only covers parts, they will squeeze cost out of the service charge.
Well our fridge is a year and half old and the compressor is bad. I cant believe that something we spend your hard earn money on is not working already. Thank God I caught it when I did or we have at least a couple hundred dollars of food gone to waste. Would not recommend LG to anyone. Buyer beware as the warranty may cover the compressor but we may have to pay to get it installed. And its not a cheap install either.
I purchased this machine for 962$ 3 years ago and it is the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. It is locked up now with a load of clothes in it and the electronics are completely dead. It will not respond to any reset even though it has power. They want to send a technician to the house at my expense. I dont want to invest any more money into this machine because even when it was working it was a lousy machine. I will never buy another LG product. I will advise all of my friends of this experience. I just wish I had visited the online reviews and read about other peoples experiences with LG before my purchase. They have a very poor reputation.
The control panel quit while my laundry was running. I called a repair service and they couldnt get the clothes out. My clothes have been stuck in there for 8 days and its still got 5 or 6 more days waiting on part and repair appointment! Called LG and they said warranty did not cover the control panel. So I have paid after original purchase, service call, part and the cost of putting new part and loss of the clothes in it over $1,500.00! I also had a tv that lasted only 3 weeks! Last time I purchase LG and I wont purchase LG-made Kenmore products either (Sorry Sears).
Well my washer (LG wt5001cw) started making a grinding and whining noise after owning if for 2 and half years and come to find out my repairman tells me it cant be fixed and its time for a new one. Really it is not fixable? So if your washer has these issues and its this model number good luck. I also have emailed LG a letter and let them know I wont be spending anymore of my hard earned money on their products. At least they dont make any life saving devices I hope. Please do not buy their products. My repairman said that this is common with their products and they are only made to last about 3 years. He sees it everyday.
I am currently overseas and purchased an LG F1443KD front loading washer 3 years ago and as a lot of people have experienced the rotor plastic splines have stripped out. As soon as the washer started acting up I tore into it. I can replace the rotor here for around 80 dollars, so I am not even contemplating going through the hassle of the warranty and having to pay for the service call and then be at the mercy of someone else. So this is the cheapest and easiest route by far and I will have my washer back on line in a week. In the meantime I do have a smaller unit upstairs that will suffice until this one is fixed. So will I buy another LG? I am on the fence on this one. Maybe if I get a great deal. LG has been around for many years, but they were not always called LG. What I read is they were previously GOLDSTAR.... and if memory serves me correctly, GOLDSTAR was something you would buy at the supermarket.
I chose LG because it had the most features I wanted and it was a good price. When I shop for appliances I take it seriously and compare several different brands for the features I want and need. It has met my expectations. It was a two door fridge with a bottom pull out freezer. It included an ice machine, variable temperatures, and different drawers inside. There was an ice machine in the freezer portion, as well as one that you were able to fill a water glass up with (in the area where water was dispensed. There was also a child safety lock. I disliked how the ice machine in the freezer part always filled up the whole freezer with ice when it was turned on. I think there should be an easier option to disable this and it should be made clear that this feature can be turned off and on.
We bought a brand new LG double after all my family told me how well they are. FYI parents and sister have only had theirs for a couple years so they are just lucky so far. Good thing I bought the warranty from the store however after spending 1600 dollars I cant believe it is malfunctioning. Currently top oven will not hold temperature when you pre set it to a certain degree. At 400 it warms up but as soon as the little tune goes off the oven shuts itself down and completely cools off. The lower oven has the exact opposite issue and heated up to a very dangerous 550 degrees via my thermometer when I pre set it to three hundred and fifty degrees to bake cookies. I had to unplug the oven as I could not get the temperature to stop rising. I have children and currently puppies in the house. I could have had a very bad accident. I cannot believe that LG would sell these faulty products that are downright DANGEROUS. I am currently waiting 2 weeks for a certified repairman unable to plug it in and cook for my family as I am scared the oven below me will explode or worse. After reading the reviews I am not very hopeful for the future of the range as it seems that even if I do get it repaired I will have issues... I should have realized this after my new dryer fried out after 6 months but I let it go thinking it was just a one off factory defect. The dryer and washer both LG are currently working but it seems we are going to throw away 4500 dollars total between all 3 and warranty plans and I guess we will start saving up for Whirlpool appliances. Please if anyone out there is reading this considering an LG... DONT make the same mistake I did! The old adage of you get what you pay for does not hold with LG appliances... you can save money and get better!
Bought this washer in August 2014. Within 18 months, the washer started throwing constant error codes. After trying for 6 months to fix the washer using steps outlined by LG, the problem has only gotten worse. LG offered to send a repair service out to fix the washer for nearly $500, which is almost as much as the washer cost. When I mentioned that the problem seems widespread online and that LG was offering no-cost service calls to others experiencing the same problem (it appears to be a consistent and easy fix of replacing the board and stator), they refused to offer the same service and insisted the repair would include a hefty fee. I would rather spend my money on a brand that stands by its products.
I purchased my washer 7/17/2014. On or about 3 weeks ago I noticed a little puddle of water on the floor. I didnt think much about it, then the next day I was washing a load of clothes, and the little puddle became a flood. I called Lowes, Moreno Valley, California where I purchased the machine, and told my salesperson what had happened. he stated, Lets just bring out a new one. That sounded like a good idea since the machine was less than 2 months old. Then I was told, We have to have a tech come out and see what the problem is, before we can do an exchange. Ok, well the tech was scheduled for the next week. I work, so I had to arrange for someone to be at my house for the tech. (in the meantime - Lowes did send out a loaner machine, I have to do laundry. So the tech came out, and because the machine was not hooked up, he said he couldnt do anything and Lowes would have to have someone come and put the washer back in the laundry room. I called and spoke with my salesperson. So now they are going to send another tech out and will have their people come and hook up the washer. The men that came out and took the loaner away and put my washer in the laundry room, managed to put a scratch on the front of my washer. The next day the tech arrives, he tells me there is a hole in the pump, and he will have to order the part. I call Lowes, and am once again told that they will send out a loaner until my washer can be repaired, so here it is Friday 3 weeks later, no washer, and told that Lowes will have someone come out and paint the scratch. First the manager said he would knock of 10% of what I paid for the machine. Is he crazy? I had a new machine, looks like a used one. My complaint is with both LG and Lowes. Both places have given me the runaround, and the worst customer service.
I purchased an LG Dishwasher model number LDF7811WW for $610.00. From day 1, the thing never really cleaned our dishes (we also rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher too). This is our timeline with this lovely dishwasher: purchased it on 4-27-08. It wasn’t cleaning dishes, so on 3-26-09, I called there repair number. A guy came out and adjusted the cam for the upper and lower spray arms. It was still not cleaning dishes. I called the repair number again on 5-18-09. A serviceman came out again, had to replace the motor. On 3-22-10, it was having problems again not cleaning dishes. I called their repair number and a guy came out. He had to replace the sump assembly (which he said was the guts of the dishwasher). On 7-25-11, I had to call yet again. The dishwasher was not cleaning dishes. I called their number, he again had to replace the sump assembly (the guts of the dishwasher) and now it is 11 -2-12, I’m having trouble again. So within 4 years, I have had the major components of the dishwasher replaced 3 times and I’m sure it’s going to be the fourth when the guy comes again later this week. I called customer service for LG and they pass the buck and say it is up to my extended warranty people, which thank God we purchased (because we usually don’t). They say that the part has to go bad 3 times within a year to be considered for the lemon law. Well, if you ask me this is a lemon. I should have kept my 20-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher which I never had a problem with but just was updating the kitchen so we replaced it. Big mistake! In my opinion, this is not standing behind their product. I’m sure, to them people $610.00 is nothing, but in this household, it is very hard to come by and I want to get what I paid for. I could have bought lemons much cheaper at the grocery store. Buyers beware.
I purchased a washer dryer from discount Warehouse. They were both LG products. Part of my analysis was based on a promised $250.00 rebate. I was told it would come in three to four weeks. It is now over three months and no rebate. To get through to them on the phone is impossible. My vendor has done nothing about this as well. Needless to say I would not count on getting any rebate back from LG products.
Frankly Im not a happy camper with this product. We purchased a large capacity front loader a couple of years ago. And just like most honeymoons things went smoothly for the first couple of years. In the past year we have had all of our washables damaged. Each piece has small holes in them. We do not overload our washer or dryer and use the recommended products in the proper amounts. Have any of you experienced this issue and if so how did you resolve it. Personally I think it could be the drum itself thats causing the issue. I worked for years as a commercial laundry mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated
A few months after purchase the filter compartment started to leak so we had water pooling on the top shelf. Got it repaired. Then the ice maker had a leak in the back so large sheets of ice would get stuck behind & prevent us from taking out the ice tray/compartment. Got it repaired. Then the filter compartment started leaking again. Got it repaired. And the biggest problem of all, the compressor died and it took a week to have it repaired. Lost a lot of food & homemade prepared meals in the freezer not to mention being a week without a fridge!!! Got it repaired. 5 days after the repair, the new compressor died again!!! The day after I went to Costco to restock the fridge & freezer!!! Im still waiting for the warranty people to call me to set up a service! I just might lose my mind! There is no way on earth a fridge costing nearly $3K should give this much trouble so early on in its life!
I too had purchased an LG top load washing machine and dryer combo model WT 5070cw. This is the second one in less than three yrs. We are having problems with wash cycles severe noise and spin cycle not draining clothes. Keeps filling up with water. Constant UE reading and it spins way too fast. Had been on the phone with LG company several times. Finally got them to send a repairman out to fix it. A week later still not fixed, they are saying warranty ran out. Got back on phone with LG, got a lady I dont understand no English, promised me a callback, ya right that will happen. I do the calling not them, so I have contacted US CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION, AND GENERAL ATTORNEY. Im sick of all the promises. I want something done, I think this product should be recalled, and LG should be responsible enough to claim their problem. I will not throw away $2,859.78.
Stopped working after less than a year and we had food in the freezer which was all wasted. Their factory service were all new repair techs and could not fix the device. And LG had no replacement part closer than Atlanta. So after three weeks, I junked the lg and bought a whirlpool.
We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now and I have to turn it off and back on 30 times before the door will unlock so I can get my clothes out. I don’t have time for that. And yesterday, I went to switch my clothes out and the door was locked of course so I just turned the whole machine off and went back to it today when I had time to mess with it. I still had to tap the frame of the door where the lock is about 3-4 times while turning it off and back on. Then when I finally was able to open it, my clothes were still soaked. So I put it on a spin only cycle. 17 min by default then after it judged the weight and distribution, it went to 10 min.I came back a few min later, the number of min was on 7 and it was full of water, rinsing. The spin light was flashing, indicating it was spinning and it was on a spin only cycle. We’re going to have to replace it as soon as we can afford to because they only guarantee their products for a year. I was told by the manufacturer that they’d have to charge me to have a maintenance guy from LG come to my house, evaluate the problem and fix it. Had I known they believed in their products this little, I’d have gone with a different brand. We will not be purchasing LG again.
We purchased a LG washer several years ago from Home Depot. It is a nightmare. It smells horrible. I have to leave the door open whenever it is not in use. It only works on one type of wash cycle...the speed cycle. All of the rest do not release detergent into the wash. The washer makes so much noise and lights flashing that my papillon stands back and barks from afar. No matter if I choose 20 minutes for delicate or speed cycle that says 30 minutes it takes an hour. I bought used Maytag and wish everyday that I could own any brand but LG, and I will never buy anything that saves water again. How much is my time worth? A lot. I will join you in any lawsuit or civil action. These machines are horrible and expensive. What a waste. But I laughed so hard reading the posts, I am sure it added years to my life. I was looking online to see if I could throw the detergent in with the clothes because the dispenser does not work anymore.
I have had a bosch ventless dryer for over 10 years. I know they can be finicky, and my Bosch definitely had its issues. When it came time to replace I thought I was going to be stepping up in terms of technology and quality with LG. The washer has been fine. The dryer started leaking on the second day I used it. The repair guy said it was leaking from the drum, rust had already started so he suggested I call and have LG bring a new unit. Second unit came and it started leaking immediately too. The leaking is about 1-2 cups of water that comes out of the bottom somewhere.A second issue is the dryer is constantly stopping on its own. Just about 10 minutes in the cycle it will stop and beep. To finish a whole cycle, the button has to be pushed about 4 times.I am in the process of having Home Depot switch this one out. Im tempted to just have them return it and take my money to Best Buy to buy a Bosch dryer, but then Ill have a mismatched set for the next ten years. Im so furious at this point because I did my homework and these dryers have been such a bust.
Gas range stove igniter went after 3 years. Only one service technician (outside company) in our area. Called Sept 15, booked service earliest Sept 22nd. They arrived and said they needed to order a part (we already told them what we needed). Called several times to get a date for repair with little to no response. Called LG - this is the only technician they have. LG called and I have to wait. I am at their mercy. Service Technician showed, called complete and product serviced and working. Not the case. Oct 1st LG have stated the repair company will not be available this week but will call and hopefully next week. Product is only 3 years old. This is the most they will offer in service. 3 weeks or more without a working stove is acceptable to LG.
The stainless drum in washer will lock up if a U.S. dime/penny/nickel lodges in between the two part drum. What a goofy design. Then the machine grinds and fails to wash properly. Silly, dont the German engineers realize that MAYBE coins will occasionally find their way into a wash load. Over engineered trash.
I bought a new LG refrigerator a few years ago and it has stopped working. Ive called LG and cant get a call back. I paid a local repairman 100 dollars to tell me he couldnt make it work. We are going to buy another refrigerator this weekend. I spent 3200 dollars on a piece of junk.
I have the LG refrigerator model LFXC24726S that is identified with the common premature failure of the compressor resulting in no cooling. I inherited this refrigerator when I bought the house 2 years ago, so I had no purchase receipt. The compressor failed recently and I called LG. They said the parts are covered under 10 years from date of purchase and labor 5 years from date of purchase. Since I didnt have the purchase receipt they went by the manufacture date of Sept. 2015. The unit failed and I called on 11/12/20. Just two months over the 5 years from manufacture date. They charged $125 on the phone for service call and another $250 for labor it took to replace the part(which was covered under warranty) to get their fail refrigerator up and running. The frustrating aspect to me is the logic that after large consumer appliance product is manufactured it doesnt get to the end user the next week. How many times do I see even on dry food products that the manufacture date is already at least month ago before it hits the supermarket shelves. I get the sense for large consumer appliances it would be more than 2 months from manufacture before it is purchased by end user. I know this refrigerator was purchased after Jan. 2016 because thats when the prior owners of my house had bought the house and remodel the kitchen, but obviously that could not help sway my case to waive the labor fee. My wife and I love the refrigerator, especially how the ice maker is small and on the door and it doesnt take up an entire corner of top shelf corner and also retains some small shelves on the dispenser door unlike Samsung unit we had in our prior home where we lost top corner shelve space and lost the smaller shelves on the inside of the dispenser door. Unfortunately, we are not going to go with LG for our next refrigerator. It is just too unreliable and I have to pay a few hundred dollars out of pocket for their failed product. Not to mention it took 6 days before a technician can come out.
We bought an LG LFX319255/05 about 4 years ago. It stopped working. Had repairman come out. Compressor is bad (400). Covered. New a new mother board that is compatible with new compressor (400) not covered. Labor (400) not covered. 848.00 total with tax. The refrigerator cost 2,600! It also has started to pit/ rust on the door. Not happy at all. Would definitely not recommend LG ever again. The sad thing is several friends have bought one based on our recommendation.
I bought all new appliances for my kitchen... all LG. Love everything but the dishwasher! I never thought I had to read the manual to run this... but one day realized that the filter was really greasy and there was water standing in the drain. Then I found a quick guide with my papers that actually said to clean this filter every time you wash! The water never drains out which creates moisture even if you put a paper towel in it each time you use it! Really... Does a manufacturer expect you to clean the filter each time? Plus we dont ever put dirty dishes in it to begin with! Pricey item And LG wont back this up because I am beyond my warranty. Who has time for this!? Forget this product.
LG 7600 top loader does not have the capacity to really get clothes clean. As it drains it leaves a scum which gets left on clothes. In my 45 years I have never had such a poor performing machine. My husbands jeans were dirty and mucky from working out doors. I ran it on the best setting I could find. I took them out and put them in the dryer. There was so much sand and dirt in the filter and the bottom of the dryer. I knew the washer had not even came close to getting them clean. Because it has no agitator, the clothes are only bathed in water so really dirty ones dont come clean. Oh how I wish I had my money back on this machine.
My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.
Have this stove for less than 5 years. From one day to the next the oven just stopped working. Error code F9 displayed on oven control panel and when I checked manual it states the regulator valve is closed. How can this shut off without it being touched? We unplugged the stove for an hour and still the oven doesn’t heat. Also, the burner control knobs just turn on their own by the slightest bump. Few times smelled gas and it was because the knobs had turn unknowingly. This is very dangerous. The grates are even changing colors. It seems the warranty is no longer in effect. Now what?
LG washer/dryer combo - DONT buy one! Enormous vibration, the house shakes. Close to 2 hours to wash & dry ONE bed sheet. Sheet emerges WET (not just damp) and needs thorough drying in the 20 yr. old reliable Kenmore basement dryer. LG = What a mistake!
My LG fridge is only a couple of years old and already needs major repair work to the doors. One side of the two doors seem to be worn out and will not close properly. Now the seals seem to be breaking. I called a local appliance repair store and was told that I have to go through LGs repair because no one else can get the parts. Nice scam LG. I will never buy another one!
WE bought LG washer and dryer after building our new home. First time I buy LG and last time. Not only did it smell which I could deal with it by leaving the door open. In December of 2014 it started shaking so bad when spinning. The repair man came and charged me $120.00. The shaking continued and when I called him back he said we had to replace the whole tub, springs___the guts of the machine. Really! For $780 plus dollars. He said after a few years the springs go from round to oval shape and it is a kit, thus the price to replace the whole thing. I said no thank you. I will use it until I cannot stand the shaking and will buy a different brand. This time a top loader. The last one I had last me 17 years and it was a different brand. So I am going back to that brand. After doing some research, I told the repair man I would post this review to tell other women to beware.
We have just started in the process of dealing with the design flaw for the LFX31925ST/00. There are 3 defined steps of symptoms: (1) a loud noise coming from the lower back of fridge; (2) icing up of the back panel; (3) RF 1 error. Apparently, this is a due to a design flaw and new panel has been redesigned to fix the problem. Also, not all consumers and including us got the memo of the problem, we are dealing with it now. We have American Home Shield who sent out a repairman today. So we will wait now until tomorrow to find out what will get fixed.A minor irritant, the front plane where the lever for water is located, the lever just falls out now. The directions on the ice maker and water dispenser were silk-screened on this model. We see the new models are etched (much better). The panel had a plastic covering that has come off. This is like buying a very expensive car with wood paneling and then the wood paneling begins to flap around while you are driving. Cosmetically poor. Meanwhile, these products get good ratings from Consumer Reports. We are subscribers and did our home work. Apparently, CR did not. In the picture, you will note the panel is discolored with black at the bottom. The water dispensing lever falls out. The good news, the panel apparently can be bought for 105 dollars: **.
In 2012, we upgraded our kitchen appliances to LG products. It has been an absolute nightmare! Every appliance has failed in some manner. The oven stopped working multiple times on our range. I couldnt believe that when I called customer service, we were told to turn off the circuit breaker for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. The code was F1. We noticed a hairline crack in the interior wall of the refrigerator near one of the shelves. The microwave door keeps lowering on us. And last week, the dishwasher just stopped working without warning. Rather than continue repairing things, we have decided to replace all of the appliances with another brand. Never will I ever recommend LG appliance products to anyone after our experience. And never will I purchase them. Love the electronics. But their appliance product is amongst the worst!
I reported my dryer having problems 4 weeks ago to LG warranty dept. They referred me to platinum who ordered a control panel without sending a tech out. When the part finally came & the tech came to install it was not the problem! Now I am going on 6 weeks without a dryer or service!!!
The knobs on my NEW THREE MONTH OLD stove are so touchie I’ve turned them on without even knowing, and have it catch on fire on my glass top and burned myself trying to put it out. This was on 7/21/18. I called the company and emailed SEVERAL times. Getting told, they will get back to me even after I told them how dangerous the knobs are and it happens all the time. I told them I’m scared children or adults can seriously be burned. Then I sent them pictures and kept getting the runaround because I didn’t need to go to the emergency room they said. (I was not trying to sue them) just let them know how dangerous it is. I now have permanent fire damage on my three month old glass stove top. I asked if they could fix it and the phone supervisor (accidentally) hung up on me when I called back with my case number. They said they have no record of me calling at all. And have not seen the faxed pictures they told me to send. Then today 12/7/18 same thing happened and once again. This time a big fire we had to put out. Now my pretty glass top stove looks terrible but lucky no major fire damage - just a terrible looking stove. The sad thing is I have LG stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer and dryer. You think a big company like their’s would take this seriously.
Bought a LG Top load washer less than 3 years ago for $720. Its constantly going out of balance several times every load you wash. Now the drive shaft broke and took out the wash plate as well. Despite the fact that the front of the washer has a 10 year warranty sticker plastered on the front of it LG refused to authorize the repair center to cover the parts under warranty, the cost of which is approx. $400-450. I called LG directly and they and talked to a technician first and she just kept telling me it was not her department and that she was only authorized to talk to the service repair company and not me.I had to beg to talk to a supervisor and had to wait forever to talk, for her to get on the line only to tell me that the 10 year warranty only covers the rotor and stator, not the drive shaft and basically told me I was SOL. Bottom line save yourself the heartache and money and dont ever buy a LG washer. They are JUNK and their customer service is non-existent!
Bought an LG dryer in 2020 from Lowes, thinking they must be good because it costs so much more then other brands. Wrong! Very frustrated as this thing will not dry clothes on any setting. Even on high, extra dry the clothes always come out damp. I have to dry small loads of delicates 4 times and even then they still come out damp. Towels I dry on heavy duty, high, and still have to go thru two cycles. I wish I could return this junk.
Model Number LDCS24223 stopped working after 4 months! This refrigerator worked well for 4 months. Then the top refrigerator portion stopped cooling. It took over 2 weeks for LG warranty repair service to determine we needed a new fan motor and a new compressor, then another 2 weeks for these parts to be installed. A month without a refrigerator was difficult. The repair person who came was courteous. He said this model is known to have this problem. If you buy this model, I recommend you buy the extended warranty.
I purchased a new refrigerator five years ago. One year after I purchased it; It stopped working. The repair person replaced the Fuse Panel. I have replaced the Fuse panel three Times. My refrigerator has stopped working again, 08/22/2014. Im exhausted with this LG refrigerator. Parents, our children are OUR future. Companies, if our children are disappointed with your product, How will the company remain in business if our children stop buying your product? I know my circle of friends and family know how disappointed I am in LG. One Child Stated, Life is Good living out of an Ice Chest. Mom we need more Ice! Shared that story with LG. I was still denied an Extended Warranty.
We bought our LG side by side, door in door fridge in June 2017. In less than 2 years, our icemaker quit working. We went through all the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing worked. We spent $95 to have someone come out to diagnose the problem... only to diagnose it incorrectly which cost an additional $180. Another service person was sent out and called into the LG center resulting in diagnosis of the heater element in freezer door not working causing the ice maker to not produce ice. We have been told that the entire freezer door has to be replaced which would be extremely costly. We already spent over $1500 on the fridge and to now in 2 years have to put hundreds of dollars into it for repair. Im outraged and disappointed in the quality of this product.
Our Washer Model WT1101 ran great for 18 months and we joined the rest of you with the constant UE error message, long wash times, noisy, etc. Call local authorized LG appliance repair service and they immediately replaced the Rotor assembly which is located below the tub. A 20 minute fix, our out of pocket was the service call, $140. Rotor replacement was a warranty fix. Since then the machine runs fine, no issues.
I always thought LG was an awesome brand. Two year after purchasing my beautiful fridge it stops cooling. I now have lost all my food in freezer and fridge right before Christmas so it was packed and unfortunately the repair cannot be made till after Christmas and perhaps after the New Year. I am without fridge and freezer till parts come in.....When I called LG and spoke with someone about what was going on I was offered a 200 credit and I wasnt sure what that was all about but now I understand what is going on. I hardly think think that is compensation enough for food and time without a fridge. Not sure I will ever purchase LG again. Actually quite sure I wont.
What an awful experience it is getting service from LG, they are the worst Ive encountered. My $2000 LG fridge stopped working July 4th and it was stuffed with food the technician who came said he could repair the fridge so he would have it taken away. He made up a story about why he couldnt fix it but most likely he didnt know. The fridge is 3 years old and so he charged me for the collection and now he says its the compressor. The 10-year warranty doesnt appear to apply to whats wrong and he says that LG dont have a compressor to supply him? Ive lost my fridge all the food and I have no respect for LG. I called their marketing department but the lady answering the phone hung up on me after I called to complain. Great customer relations LG.
Cost was the purchase factor. I dont care for the ability on choosing cycles. I look for the material that the tub is made from. Also prefer top load over front load. I will never purchase a Maytag or Sears brand product. For me a lot depends on the amount of attention and service I get with sales rep and delivery. Thats why Sears is dead to me! Top loader LG w/ stainless steel tub/ non stackable - I feel the value of my LG products are in line with the going rate. Cleans well. Dont care for the tangled and knotted clothes at the end of the cycle. Finish quality and look of the appliances all OK.
LG WT1101CW Top load washer - I purchased this washer January of 2014. I read the reviews in consumer reports and that is how I came to purchase this washer. My issue with it is that I feel it has more control over me than I do over it. It uses less water and does not saturate the items and because it uses less water, when you add chlorine bleach it leave chlorine fade marks on white wash as well as a darker wash. This has happened many times and a lot of my items were ruined. I do not believe that Consumer Reports tested this issue on clothing. I have also had to rewash my clothing because the dirt just didnt come out. I currently have sent LG an email with regard to this issue. Today, I just purchased a Kenmore with an agitator and it has a water level that I can choose. Although it is 3.6 cf as opposed to 4.3 cf. submitted by serial number. CHLORINE BLEACH DISPERSEMENT AND WATER LEVEL IS THE ISSUE. I have gotten unbalance codes but machine works and is quiet but I want my laundry clean.
I purchased the stove from Home Depot on March 29, 2011. My kitchen remodel was completed two months later, making the actual age of the stove approximately four months old. I dont cook on the stove often and only used the oven this one time. I placed a tray with dinosaur breaded chicken pieces in the oven at 350 degrees. Five minutes into cooking them, I heard glass shatter. I ran to the kitchen thinking a window had broken. I looked at the oven and the inside glass had shattered. I waited the weekend and called LG service on Monday. A service man came on Tuesday (Granville **). He came late. He trudged through my house with mud and looked at my paperwork for the stove. He poked at the broken glass and tiny pieces fell on the floor. He took pictures, closed the door, took a picture of the serial number, kicked the tiny of pieces of glass off his work boot and proceeded to leave my house. I stopped him and asked if the repair was getting done today. He said something about the LG company. I said, “Could you please tell me if the repair is getting done today?” He said, Call the company tomorrow. I said, “Tomorrow, I want my stove done today.” He said, Call the company. I cant do no more. I immediately called LG and they said, Werent you told to call tomorrow? I said, “I want to know today.” They put me on hold and said they would call the service man. When they came back on the phone, they said, “The service man notified us that it was negligence on your part that the oven glass broke.” Was it on my part? I put something in to cook. The glass shattered only on the inside pane of glass and blew apart into tiny pieces that flew all over my floor when I opened it. And I have a small child that could have been badly injured if he was playing near this monstrosity of a product. A service man came, poked his finger at the broken glass and more pieces fell on my spotless floor. He kicked his heel to make the ones on his boot fall off onto my floor and walked away leaving them there. And Im into day six without a stove and your company is telling me I can get it repaired if I pay for it. Should I pay for it? I dont even think this stove is safe with new glass. Something caused that glass to blow apart, whether the thermostat let the temperature get too high, the glass wasnt properly sealed, or the complete stove is defective. One thing is certain. I did nothing wrong to cause this to happen. And the replies I keep getting, that are made to make me feel like a liar, are totally sickening. I have LG washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and seven wall unit air conditioners. And you mean to tell me that I never made a single complaint. But the one and only time I do, Im at fault? Did I deliberately or by mistake broke a window out of my oven? Absolutely not. I bought all these products in good faith. I even bought extended warranties on some. At the first sign of trouble, your company turns its nose up at me. What a disgrace!
In July 2017 we bought an LG electric/convection double oven stove. Almost as soon as we installed the appliance our first incident with the stove happened. I barely brushed the stove knob and the burner turned on. My husband happened to have his hand on the burner and he felt the heat. That should have been our first warning. Jumped forward to December 27, 2017 @ 6:29 pm. Shortly after my husband had heated up his dinner in the microwave, which is above the stove, I smelled something like plastic burning. I said to my husband I bet you bumped a knob on the stove. He proceeded to the kitchen and when he opened up the door flames and smoke billowed into our living room. Between the two of us we contained the fire and help was on the way.My review regarding this stove cannot be put in stars because they don’t have a negative value. As far as cooking on the stove we had no issues. I loved the double oven. But from our first experience shortly after installation to the night our house caught fire, the knobs were a concern. We have grandchildren who use the microwave... I shudder with the thoughts of what could have happened to them. There were no push then turn knobs, which is a common safety on most stoves, Or the knobs could have been on the back of the stove like some stoves. Now we are facing a total remodel on the kitchen, new cabinets, multiple appliances... etc.Yes, we have insurance but that’s not the issue. This fire could have been prevented if the knobs had a safety feature. I feel for the individuals who have the gas stove. I understand their concern. Gas leak vs fire makes for a bad day. With as many reviews I have read regarding this particular problem, LG should have a recall on this model stoves. Look into rectifying the situation so this does not happen to someone else and turn their world upside down. So as far as LG products are concerned, I’m boycotting them. We even have several other household products but when the stop working, no more LG products in my house. LG needs to step up their quality control on the designs of their kitchen appliances. You should never live in fear of ACCIDENTALLY turning on an appliance.
The steam dishwasher went dead during warranty. The corporate repair technician came out. He did something, said he could not replicate the problem, and the washer started up! Two months after the warranty expired, all 3 circuit boards went out. The corporate technician was no longer allowed to come out, and we were forced to use a new company that only services LG on Fridays. Weve been doing dishes by hand for 6 weeks, and still, dont have the parts. It will be two more weeks at the minimum before repair is complete due to LG policy, parts distro, and customer service. Dont waste your money! Where are the class action suits against this company?
I liked the finger proof texture. The body of the fridge had the silver style. Really looks good in my kitchen next to my other similar style appliances. The refrigerator section holds a lot more than the refrigerator that it replaced. But I disliked the drawer on the bottom. It seemed not to hold much and everything just ended up being piled on top of each other. It just wasnt as convenient as I thought it would be for my size family. So I started looking on reviews about other brands. LG has always had a good reputation on other products of that brand I own. Ive had some good luck with their brand but all in all I think I will be looking into other companies next time I need a refrigerator.
My LG has been very reliable for 9 years. I love having the freezer at the bottom with the double refrigerator doors at the top. The ONLY design feature I don’t like at all is the temp controlled drawer that goes across the full width of the refrigerator. In order to use that drawer you have to open both doors. Would much prefer 2 smaller drawers accessible individually from each side.
Wish I could leave a rating of zero stars as a more accurate rating. LG Refrigerator model LFX25974ST /04 less than one year old under full warranty compressor failed. Informed item was on back order and will not receive for 3+ weeks. We have already waited for one week for service. Numerous calls to customer service has done nothing but bring frustration and hours of wasted time. Horrible product and horrific customer service. A month without a refrigerator and hundreds of dollars in spoiled food. A family of four with two small children cannot be without a functioning refrigerator. We will never purchase another LG product, EVER.
LG french door refrigerator - On 3/15/07, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator model #LFD22B60ST. This morning, 2/21/12, I awoke to the smell of burning plastic coming from the kitchen. When I opened the refrigerator door, I was met with smoke and a heavy burnt plastic odor. The light assembly and cover had melted and fallen on the top shelf. Both light sockets were burnt dark brown. The inside shell under the light housing is literally melted through. The control temperature read 81 degrees. I called LG and they were too eager to take care of it at no charge to me. That alone made me suspicious of their knowledge of this problem, but after reading eleven other identical complaints listed here, LG must have known about this product failure and not one of us was ever notified. This refrigerator is a fire hazard!
Bought a French door May 2017 from Costco, compressor failure happened after 2 years. After surviving without a fridge for 2 weeks as a family of 5, with 3 young growing boys, the compressor was finally replaced. It was explained that LG built these fridges knowing the compressors were not compatible and that they would fail. That compressor repair last 3 months... I have spoiled food 2 times thanks to this LG nightmare. We finally replaced this fridge after the 2nd failure as we need a dependable fridge. I have submitted for food spoilage reimbursement multiple times but LG is refusing to reimburse me due to the purchase receipt copy provided from Costco doesn’t have the ‘Costco logo’ on it. WTHECK?! We’re now a whirlpool, I will never do business with LG again. Worst experience of my life and I will be pursuing any lawsuit for these defective refrigerators.
Purchased LG product in November 2014 and it did not even last 5 years. Compressor is not working and cost of labor to replace is over $700.00. LG will only assist with cost of repair for 36 months. It is evident that LG does not produce quality produce. If LG invested in a quality product, then LG would stand behind its products and company would offer assistance if their refrigerator stopped working after 4.5 years.
My washing machine LG front load got damaged & main IC was burnt due to voltage fluctuation and I have been registered my complain No. RNA120112050633.
In 2013 I purchased a set of LG large capacity washer and dryer. I was excited when I got my new machines. At first I was amazed, as it did not seem my clothes had been washed so clean and dried so efficiently in years, compared to my old washer and dryer. After a few months, it seemed the washer would stop itself more and more often, with a UE flashing on the screen and required opening the machine and rearrange heavy wet clothing until it would spin through. About that time I received a notice of a recall that affected my machine. I called the recall hotline number and a technician was sent to replace the faulty parts. This solved the problem with balance and wash cycle, but left the washer with few choices for temperature. You have the choice of warm/warm, regardless of the setting other than tap cold. Cold/cold runs warm/warm. At least the machine was operating and cleaning the clothes. I was told it may happen again and that, if it did, to keep the number for the recall hotline. I have always made a special point of taking large blankets or anything other than regular clothing or bedding/towels, to a public laundry.Recently, once again, the machine has been throwing the clothing to the side and refusing to complete the load without the struggle of reaching in and rearranging the load, reading unbalanced several times before the load would finish. The last load I did was two regular bed sheets and a few wash clothes and it stopped twice before completed the cycle.I called the recall hotline from my paperwork and a tech was sent to our home, today. I was at work, so my husband greeted the repair technician. After trying the machine on its cycle, running on empty, he called me at work to tell me it tested normal. I assured him it was far from normal. The technician proceeded to tell me it is very important with this delicate machine, to only wash light loads of the same clothing, such as sheets only, towels only, light cotton with like size and fabric and jeans or heavier clothing, with only a few at a time and no other clothing. He stated he wanted to run a load of laundry to test the machine. My husband started putting clothes into the washer when the technician stopped him and told him to select only a few items of like size and fabric. The technician ran the load and called to inform me the machine had no problems and he was closing the ticket on the repair. I told the repairman to go home and ask his wife if she would be satisfied to do her laundry under the specifications he was informing me, this delicate machine (large capacity, supposed high power) requires. All of this to say, LG does not stand behind their product, the parts are sub quality and the massive recall on this machine only served to put a band-aid on a major problem. The machines should have been replaced and the customer should have been satisfied, instead of spending $850 on a machine that has lasted a total of 3 years. Do not buy LG, unless you have money to burn.
I bought LG Refrigerator Model #LFX31925ST about a year ago and all of a sudden it started making this irritating noise that is coming from around the bottom of the fridge. After making so many complaints to LG explaining to them about my problem they were telling me that the fridge was not sitting on a level floor. Making a long story short after a long battle with LG they finally send a technician to fix my problem. He told me to take all the food out of the freezer and he removed the panel that was covering the fan and replaced it with a panel that has a heater. When I asked him why he admitted to me about the design flawed where the fan builds ice and thats where the noise was coming from. He said the new panel has a built in heater so it will not build ice and that he is going around and changing this panel for customers who complain about this problem. For LG not to admit this problem and giving me the run around for more than a year was unacceptable. Had I not bought the extended warranty they would have not bothered to even do anything about it. This is being disingenuous and unfair business practice. So if you have noise problem call LG and ask them straightforward to come and change the panel regardless it being out of warranty or not. Sad but true!
Replaced our Elite Kenmore (LG) with new LG. Very happy with updated features. The new LG agitates the clothes much more than the Kenmore, thus clothes are cleaner. Only dislike is machine is louder and water pump is little annoying, if in a laundry room where door shuts all will be good.
Buyer BEWARE! Never knew a dishwasher could have so many problems. Sure wished I checked this website before purchasing. Wont even go into all the details because by now you have read all of the many negative reviews posted before me. Save yourself not only time and money but all the frustrations you will definitely get if you choose this particular appliance. There are many more to choose from so RUN away from this one...even if its free! No joke!
Washer goes out of balance on almost every load. I verified the machine was level and watched the YouTube video on how to properly load a washing machine. I still had problems and contacted the LG support line. They were no help. A class action is required to get LG to resolve this issue. Do NOT buy LG washers
I dont trust any of the side loaders due to the possibility of water leaking around the door seal. Price was discounted for a holiday, from Lowes. Lowes installation bothered me a lot. This washer and dryer replaced Kenmores that were 25 years old, and still running. Quality means a lot to me. I expect these LGs to last at least as long as my 25 year old Kenmores since engineering and technology MUST have improved in the last 25 years. After a year, I am very happy with the LGs. Occasionally, the washer cant balance the load and I have to redistribute the washer contents. Note that the basin spins at over 1000 rpm, so a balanced load is critical. Thats okay. I thought the vast number of washing options were way too many, so too the dryer. But I guess some owners will use options that I dont. The clothes load size is really big. You will need very long arms to reach the bottom of the washer to pull out all the items.
We also purchased LG washer/dryer, high end stainless steel. Washer is ok but we have experienced same problems as many others. The dryer LG Tromm DLE3777W never dried clothes correctly. It takes 90 minutes to dry an average load of clothes. An energy star product it is not. The repair guy gave us the same ** about the vent being dirty or clogged. Never was the case. Actually sounds like the repair guy was reading off a script. The second time to the house, the repair guy stated that the dryer was operating as designed. The real problem is that Home Depot is selling this stuff. Home Depots reps are promoting this stuff and LG doesnt stand behind their product. Two options: contact the Better Business Bureau in your state (they are usually really good) and the second option is contact your state Attorney General. LG is selling a defective product and that, in every state, is fraud.
LG service lacks timeliness. I bought an LG French door refrigerator which we put in service three years ago (in 2015). Since that time we have had the circulation fan replaced in 2017 and the compressor failed in 2018. We have now been waiting for three weeks to have the compressor replaced and it appears we will be yet a fourth week before we have a technician here to perform that work. Took 2 weeks to get the tech out to diagnose and order the parts needed, another week to get the part and set up another appointment, then the appoint was cancelled because a plastic part I could snap on myself was not yet on hand. Like I said: Now looking to be 4 weeks (maybe) before I once again have another functioning refrigerator. NOT HAPPY!
I bought an LG refrigerator in Sept 2016, it failed April 2019. I have been without a working refrigerator for over 4 months. They have attempted to replace the compressor 3 times, 2 of these times they also replaced the motherboard, each time its failed. LG told me that they would attempt to repair 3 times before a replacement would be issued. On the day of the 3rd failed attempt I called and was told that they were submitting the approval for a replacement. After not hearing back I called and Im now being told that each of those repairs fell into the same type of repair and that they will be sending a technician to try something different. Not until today was I offered a $150 credit towards a mini- refrigerator. Im being given quite the run-around, a different story each time I call it seems and Im at the end of my rope. How much time am I supposed to take off work to meet repair men, will they attempt this new type of repair 3 more times, then will they try something new? How long will this go on - a year? A refrigerator should last longer than 2.5 years, PERIOD. They are aware they are selling defective refrigerators. There are class action lawsuits about these compressors. Enough is enough. Send me a new unit or give me my money back.
The LG Warranty Dept is pathetic to put it bluntly. We purchased the extended warranty from Lowes Canada on a 3 Appliance Extended Warranty Package. But trying to get warranty service on an LG LFX25778ST French Door Fridge has been ridiculous. Of course, the call center is in the Philippines and they read off of a script. They said there are 2 service providers in my area. I spoke to the first company and they would decline compressor calls from LG? The second company said they are not accepting calls from LG because of past issues??? The CSR in the Philippines had no solution as it was not on his script. What a joke!!! So now Im left scrambling trying to get a repair of the fridge.LG you should be ashamed of yourselves and I warn everyone out there to look at other manufacturers. As well, Im not done with LG and Lowes as of yet. One of these two companies will be reimbursing me for this sham/scam and paying me back for all monies owed. Be it product, the so-called extended warranty charge and all legal fees. I hope everyone reading this heeds the warning. Thanks.
Have had no problems with front loading washer and dryer. Bought biggest capacity of both appliances with pedestals. No more getting on my knees to check for left behind clothes. They are so quiet, I have to check if they are done.
I was quite happy with my LG electric (glass-top, stainless steel) range until, this weekend, the oven simply stopped working. That means no broiler, no oven, no self-cleaning. Based on my description to our authorized LG repair outfit in my city, Im told its going to cost $195 ($220 with taxes) + $120 for the repair ($138 with taxes). Thats $358 total!! After spending well over $1000 only 3 years ago for this appliance, Im infuriated.I called another company in town that repairs LGs and they said that people are lucky if they last 5 years, and that most of the time, within 2 years there are issues. She actually said that their company recommends that people keep their old ranges as long as they can. I was flabbergasted. I cant afford a new range right now so Im going to get this thing repaired, but believe me, I will never buy an LG product again. I just hope the LG dishwasher and fridge I bought will last a longer. No customer loyalty here, thats for sure.
I needed a fridge at the time it seemed like it was it the best quality fridge out there for the initial price so I really cant complain. It really does run well and efficient. The ice machine is my favorite part. Also the fact that it is a stainless steel appliance means it is easy to clean and just be wiped off for a fast and easy finish. Its an ok fridge all around but the cons would be it smudges easily. I have kids so that is a big concern with me since I dont want people coming over to my house and seeing a dirty fridge people would think Im a slob who doesnt clean my own house. Also the ice machine can be pretty loud but all around its an ok fridge so I dont have any major complaints.
I have had the service man come twice to repair my LG HT5101HV washer and the first time was for the software upgrade required by the recall. I thought it went well until I started to wash my comforter and found out it would not stay balanced no matter what I did to alleviate the problem. It took me over 2 hours to finish that load after manipulating it until I got it to finish. Wasting water galore on trying to rebalance it until it would spin dry. Also I didnt realize it but LG purposely slowed down the rpms on the washer that was rated at 1100RPM to max at 700 rpms. which to me is not high efficiently. So I continued to use the model and started to read reports of what the new software did to the washer. In my honest opinion these washers should all be recalled and replaced. They are not high efficiency anymore. They use water excessively and dont even wring out the clothes as dry as they were advertised which is one of the reasons I bought this model. Yes I liked the machine BEFORE the software upgrade and didnt have any problems with it but for safety reasons I called LG to fix it but wished I never had. The washer was fine except for the plastic support constructions and if you just load the washer correctly you would never have had a problem with it on that issue. Now I have to deal with LG on the fact that they said they cannot fix it and am waiting a call from their rep on the next step in this process after nearly a week of waiting for that call. Needless to say I am NOT a happy camper right now and want this corrected immediately and oh yes, I do not want another LG product after this episode. I just hope they will refund me my purchase price and I can go buy another brand and now I not sure what to buy anymore. I know that I had trouble with other brands before this one. Any suggestions? And raise cain if you arehaving the same problems with the new software upgrade. All I get now is a uE when it spins and it was even doing that when I was trying to clean the basket. That is not even reasonable...... DONT SETTLE for less than what you originally pay for and let LG know you are not happy with the upgrade on the recall.
I will avoid all LG products like the plague from now on! My smart top loading washer (recommended by Consumer Reports at the time) repeatedly gave the UE error. I called LG Customer Service for solutions to the problem. Their recommendation was to add/remove clothing to balance the load. Thats all the advice they had to offer. (Im sorry that I didnt have more dirty clothing to wash at that time. Apparently, they expected me to pull clean clothes out of my closet to balance the load!) When I operated the washer with no clothing in the machine, I realized the problem was with the washer - not my loading technique. After my water bill TRIPLED because of the huge amount of water used to attempt to balance the loads, I requested a service call. The technician informed me that the problem was due to a KNOWN software issue and all that was needed to fix the problem was a software update. I have no issue with this. What I do have an issue with is that LG Electronics failed to form consumers of this simple fix! Apparently, LG Electronics doesnt care about consumers- they just like to sell products. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!
PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.
Purchased a LG electric range, dishwasher and refrigerator and microwave. My wife and I decided this would be a present for both of us for our 25th wedding anniversary. We decided to get the top of the line stove with the convection stove, black glass top self cleaning range. The oven was blue inside and all the appliances were stainless steel. Within a few months we used the self cleaning feature on the oven and afterwards, the stove digital display showed an error and nothing worked. We called and after a several weeks, we had a service person come and repair the oven. It seemed that an electrical component had burned out. We again after a month or so used the self clean feature and once again display showed an error and once again waited for a repair. The second repairman told it this the same electrical component had burned out. He informed us that it was an LG design flaw which vented the 500 plus degree cleaning temperature vented partially on the circuit board burning it out. He said to avoid this, to not use the self cleaning feature. So this top of the line self cleaning oven had to be hand scraped clean. We have now noticed that the outer door on the oven is starting to fall off. The inner door is in place and the only thing holding the outer door on right now is the handle. Why of course we are out of warranty and now do we pay outrageous service call fees and parts or let it fall the rest of the way apart and trash it? The refrigerator shelves are flimsy and several have cracks and it takes, if you dont use it, approximately 4 days for the ice bin to fill. Its too bad that you can spend a great deal of money on a product and have problems with it several months after making the purchase. My wife is a Real Estate Broker and will make sure no new or homeowners needing appliance to steer clear of LG products.
My LG Electric Range with convection option malfunctioned and caught fire today, Christmas Day 2011. Its model LRE30755 ST/01 and manufactured in June 2007. A wire between the main compartment of the oven and the lower warming drawer compartment (inside the oven) arced and the heat melted a hole in the metal at the bottom of the oven. Essentially, the metal was on fire.Fortunately, the house did not burn down. The oven sort of shut itself off, and it did not trip the circuit breaker. It is out of warranty. Ill be calling the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the PA State Attorneys office in an attempt to get this product recalled. It is dangerous.
I bought the LG Model DLEX3370W in May 2019. Exactly 2 years later the dryer died. The circuit board died and it will not power on. I went to a local repair/refurbished shop and asked them if it was possible to repair the dryer. They told me it would cost the same amount to repair the dryer as replacing it. The dryer works very well when it has power but after about a year we noticed it would intermittently not power on. In most cases we would unplug it and plug it back in and it worked. This last time it is completely dead.
Top loading washing machine LG wt1101c purchased at home depot - My concern is the excessive amount of water that it uses. I set the controls for bulky bedding for a test run. After many starts and stops in its cycle it finished its cycle. Then to my surprise it used 18 gallons of water in the wash cycle and an additional 18 gallons in the spin and rinse cycle. I have a 40 gallon hot water tank and it used it all… (I have a double wash tub that the used water is pumped into, dim 19-19-12= 4332 cu inches) 4332/231 = approx. 18 gallons per each side 18+18=36 gallons on a washing/rinsing cycle. There must be some cycles that use less water. The machine I understand, weighs the load and adds the correct amount of water. I have asked LG for a chart or list showing how much water per pound is used or for each setting. I received NO REPLY. There is nothing in the operational manual giving this information. Also there is a digital readout on the control panel that means nothing. For instance If it says 54 and it starts its countdown the washer will do a series of rotational jiggles and the countdown stops and does not keep track of the time correctly (it may say 54 but it takes 70 before it stops). The washer looks good, washes clean but the instruction manual needs to be rewritten to address these items and take into consideration this needed information. Thank everyone for permitting me to list my complaints and suggestions. If and when these suggestions are addressed I would like a revised instruction manual to be sent to me.
We purchased an LG LDF7551ST dishwasher in June 2012 for $800. While under warranty, in June 2013, it stopped working (Error message E1) and needed service and parts replaced. In September 2013, the same issue occurred and the dishwasher needed to be serviced and similar parts replaced. This happened a third time this past Tuesday, July 15. This is obviously defective merchandise and LG refuses to replace the machine. They say that they are doing me a favor by extending the warranty on the parts being replaced. Some for the second and possibly now the third time.I have, to date, needed to take time off from work five times: once each for the appliance company to come to evaluate the problem and once for them to replace the parts. In addition, I have been on the phone with LG for numerous hours both on hold and trying to get some kind of resolution to this matter. The managers I spoke with both said they are at the highest level of decision making and refused to replace this machine. They told me I could write a letter to LG but it would come to them and nothing more would be done and I would not even get a response. I purchased a defective machine which should be replaced. I do not have the time nor patience to have to deal with this issue every few months.
We purchased an LG fridge 3 years ago based on their advertising saying that their lifespan is at least 20 years, that along with their innovative features was the reason why we ended up buying it... Fast forward, right after it broke the 3-year mark it just stopped cooling so one day we woke up to a pool of water all over the kitchen and we found out that EVERYTHING on the freezer was fully thawed, and this happened just right after we went to do the groceries so the whole fridge was FULLY stocked with food... We had to throw away most of our food, hundreds of dollars wasted... And the worst just happen after this...We found out that this is a common issue with LG fridges and that their technicians are taking weeks, sometimes months to come repair your fridge, what??!! What are we supposed to do now? To wait blindly for weeks or even months for them to come repair it? To go out and eat EVERY SINGLE DAY 3 times? To spend thousands of dollars by doing that? And not to mention that we are in the middle of a Pandemic and that we have toddlers?? Not only LG products are this bad but their service towards honoring their warranty is bad as bad can be... Their customer support phone line NEVER answers your call so you are stuck in oblivion with a dead fridge and nobody to take responsibility of repairing it asap... We are adding ourselves to the class action suit against LG now...
COMPRESSOR FAIL - MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I bought an overpriced LG refrigerator ($2500) in June, 2017 at Home Depot. It was broken by JULY 2019. Tough luck for me with no income and late stage cancer...it broke two weeks after the two year warranty expired. The part might be replaced by LG, but I am stuck with the cost and trouble of trying to find a knowledgeable technician. In my area (Raleigh) NO technician familiar with LG will work on them anymore because of these manufacturer defects! The LG rep set up an appointment with a technician - I had to wait over a week, AND they failed to show. I want to join the lawsuit. I get $12/week food stamps and lost all my carefully preserved and frozen food. There is NO WAY I can afford to pay a service tech for this and expected failures of other parts in the future. Watch LG’s “canned” response. They will do nothing.
Purchased LG washer, dryer, stove & refrig about 5 yrs ago. Very expensive, but was very happy when I got them. Dryer have replaced 2 - drums, last one has lasted 2 mos, paper thin drum, stove, unit went out that I rarely use and i.m. - rarely works. Never would I spend that kind of money for appliances that are worthless.
We bought our LG washing machine in May of 2014. It has never worked right from the beginning. I would have to watch it closely to restart it when it would go into the IE mode. I would have to press the start button twice to get it to resume washing. I had a tech come out to my house today to check it and he said the computer board needed replaced at the amount of $350.00. I told him I would rather buy a new machine instead of fixing it because it was the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. He also said he has fixed many with the same or similar problem. Ill never buy another one.
We purchased Model LFXS30726S in late 2015. About a month ago we came home to find water all over the floor and the fridge had stopped being cold. I called LG the following day as it appeared that we had a compressor stop working and cooling the fridge. The compressor has a 10 Year Warranty on it, and LG has had known issues with this particular compressor that they used then because there is a class action lawsuit about it. Anyways, I call LG the next day and they tell me that it will be 15 days...YES over 2 weeks before someone can come even look at the fridge!! Not repair it, just look at it and order parts. Parts were going to be an additional 3-4 days I was told. I said that was unacceptable to go without our fridge with a family of 5 living here. At this point she offered no more options that were suitable to our needs so I moved on and made a few phone calls myself. I fortunately spoke to a great repair company in Denver that said they repair 3-4 compressors on LG fridges a day and that they have the parts needed to complete the job and could be here in 2 days to fix it. So I have the refrigerator repaired and it works fantastically, I call LG to file a warranty claim to at least recover the cost of the parts, and maybe a little labor if possible. LG tells me Theres nothing they can do!. Since they didnt order the work through their network of repair companies, then they wont pay for anything.Seriously!?!? You have to be kidding me?? I was going to have to wait almost 3 weeks to get my fridge repaired through LG, which is completely unacceptable, or else they wont buck up $1000 for the repairs. They have basically told me to go pound sand every time Ive spoken to them.MY ADVISE NOW - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG...EVER!!! There are plenty of competitors with as good, if not better products in the market who will make things right. LG is not concerned about doing the right thing as a company. LG is only concerned that their big corporation gets to keep a $1000 instead of making a customer whole by doing the right thing.
