Whirlpool Platinum Cabrio Washer wtw8240 - Ive owned this washer for two years. Worst two years of my life. Its leaked since day one. They have attempted to repair the leaking on 5 different repair visits (told me the nozzle that puts the water in the tub doesnt stop in time and it overflows on my floor). Finally it seemed to be somewhat fixed and then it started to sound like a freight train coming through my house. They determined the bearings were worn on my tub and had to replace the whole tub unit. Seven visits. I got one month out of it and it’s leaking again. I am now out of the extended warranty I purchased. This is ridiculous. Isnt there a lemon law on appliances? I know if a dealer attempts 4 or more repairs on your car for the same problem unsuccessfully, it qualifies for the lemon law. $800 for a washing machine that dumps water all over my floor and no one can seem to fix it. Well Im done, Whirlpool. Next time I will purchase a plain washer with no bells or whistles and it wont be made by Whirlpool!

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

In January 2021 I purchased a front load Whirlpool washer and matching dryer. They were delivered on February 6 2021. The first load we found water on the floor. I thought I didnt close the detergent drawer so I proceeded with the next load. Again I found water this even through the ceiling tile in room below. So with the next load I sat in laundry room to see what was happening. When on the rinse cycle water shoots out the front of the dispenser drawer.Contacted service, they sent repair man. He ordered new parts and I waited over 3 weeks for next repair call to find out that whirlpool had part all along. Repair man came again and still no resolution to issue. He was told to order same parts again - still no resolution yet again. I fought with Whirlpool till they said they would give me a new machine. Now fighting because delivery people wont uninstall 1st washer and install new machine. Today is June 28 2021 and I still DONT HAVE A WASHER TO USE. I havent even used the dryer yet. I have $3400 and numerous hours with Whirlpool trying to resolve this issue! Can you help? Whirlpool continues to string us along, telling us to be patient, theyre doing their best.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold French door with the bottom freezer in October 2013. I had one repair done while it was still under the 1 year warranty, but by the time it was 18 months old, it began leaking refrigerant. I was told by the technician that the cost to repair it would be more than the value of the refrigerator, and the chances of the repair lasting more than 6 months were minimal. I had to buy a brand new refrigerator (not a whirlpool this time). I contacted Whirlpool customer service but they were non-sympathetic. Do Not Buy Whirlpool Products - Poor quality and high prices.

Purchased a Maytag refrigerator in 2009. Was told Whirlpool bought out Maytag, never had a problem with it ever! Speed up to 2012. Purchased another refrigerator this time a whirlpool. HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT! This is the 3rd or 4th time the veggie/fruit drawer POS plastic track has broken. I purchased the extended warranty after a year and in addition to the above, had a new ice maker replaced, and a part in the freezer as the freezer wasnt freezing. So I called them to replace the drawer plastic track again and they say that its a cosmetic problem and they wont cover it. Are you kidding me??? It holds the drawers in for crying out loud! Also told the repairman that the ice gets clogged in the dispenser and either 1) melts all over the place or 2) comes pouring out when you open the doors. He tells me that its best to just use the ice cubes and not the crushed. Again... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Thats why I paid so damn much money for this one as I wanted crushed ice! There should be a recall on this appliance. Repairman says all the models with the icemaker on the left side have problems with freezing and when inquired about my lettuce freezing and getting wilted or brown, he says that the humidity buttons are really only for looks and dont have a purpose!!! Believe you me... I will be sharing this on social media of all types to get this resolved. WHIRLPOOL BIGWIGS LISTEN UP! YOUR PRODUCT STINKS!!! Since we were gone on Friday when the call came in that they called it cosmetic on the drawers you bet Ill be giving these extended warranty people a call too tomorrow! Also dont say we have too much in our drawers because theres barely anything in them at all times. Its just used by 2 retirees!

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (new) in 2004. From the beginning, I had problems with the spin cycle. I phoned Whirlpool. I paid for service with no reimbursement. With the costs I have had for service, I could have purchased 2 machines. I have had to go to Laundromat to do wash then come home to dry. I have for 30 years only purchased Whirlpool large appliance. My washer and dryer were always refurbished but they were Whirlpool. I have had a (refurbished) Whirlpool dryer since 1997 with one (1) service call. However, this wash machine, purchased new, has been a money pit and a piece of trash with Whirlpool only giving lip service when calling. Also, going to the Laundromat, I have been amazed at how many individuals I speak with are there doing wash because their Whirlpool washer, mostly even newer models than mine, do not work! And they have the same story. There’s no service when you call. Shameful Whirlpool! Buy your parts from us. Maybe your credibility could be restored. But I will never purchase your Whirlpool or other names under Whirlpool! When I do get another washer, yours will be put on my front lawn with a large sign of your disgraceful products and service!

My dishwasher is 4 months old and is having some electrical issues. I have had to call into customer service 3 time to try to get a service call. Two of the service calls did not show up. Having spent over RS 40000 on a so-called quality product one does not expect to spend nearly 20000 within the first two years of the purchase. 1. As soon as the warranty got over the PCB (costing 3000) broke down. 2. This replacement had a 3 MONTH warranty. Exactly after 9 months again the PCB breaks down along with leakage of gas. The service team asks us to buy a stabilizer to ensure that no such issues occur as they attribute these breakdowns to voltage fluctuations which are not of any precedence in Delhi. Also the product I am using was sold to me as a stabilizer-free working. 3. I made the suggested investments 4 months later the fan and motor of the freezer stop working. Imagine so much repair work on a new equipment. I have been writing to them yet all that they say in response is we are looking into the matter. NO ONE SHOULD BUY WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATORS.

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets
My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. The washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty, a service tech came out to look at it. After hearing the problem, he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not fix the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty explained to me that customer advice was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mentioned that if the machine really did not work as described, we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one-year warranty. Whirlpool will sell you junk backed with horrible customer service. Beware!

I bought in 2008 a Whirlpool Cabrio washer because it was the best. It cost me $900 plus 170 extended warranty for four years. This month, my washer showed an f1 code. I call the Maytag store and guess what, they are not there anymore. They closed the store. I called for my extended warranty and guess what, they are not with Maytag and they filed a chapter 7. So, I spent over $1000 in a machine that only worked three years and now I have to buy another just because no one wants to take the responsibility on the warranty. I have to pay another $300 to fix the problem and even doing that, theres no guarantee that it wont fail again. So, and this is to the people of Maytag and their cheats, you may take my money but you lose me as a customer forever. Thank you for nothing. I will keep that in mind next week when Ill be in the store buying another washer.

Fridge was purchased in Feb 2012 from one of the home improvement store chains - along with an extended warranty. It worked flawlessly for about two years, at which point it began draining into the freezer compartment and eventually onto the floor (up to a quart or more at a time). Initially this was a rarer occurrence, happening once every few weeks - but has recently become more and more commonplace. The extended warranty purchased with the appliance covered direct repairs, but am told it will not cover the associated damage to the hardwoods. The local technician contracted for repairs was familiar with the root cause and was able to diagnose immediately upon viewing the brand and style of fridge. As was explained, the drain systems are of extremely poor design leading to icing and blockage of the drain itself during defrost cycles. The only fix at that point is to essentially turn the refrigerator completely off (remove power) and manually defrost the entire thing. The repairs were conducted same day as this review, and as such I am unable to say whether or not the fix is a lasting one.As a note, Ive not experienced any other mechanical or electrical failures or shortcomings with this model. It cools effectively and properly and has not had any history of trouble with making ice - as some other reviewers have experienced. The door containing the ice dispenser (left side) however, does not stay open, swinging shut from full open in a little over 4 seconds. Im still awaiting a complete estimate on the floor, but an initial value on damages is in excess of $1,000. Given current knowledge and the opportunity to choose again, I would select another manufacturer.

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator from Lowe’s in Rockledg
I purchased my Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator from Lowe’s in Rockledge, FL. This was my third purchase after returning an LG Refrigerator as well as a Samsung refrigerator for having multiple defects! My Whirlpool Refrigerator purchased June 2014 has motherboard replaced that showed obvious evidence of factory board flaws when boards were manufactured. Top mounted ice maker drips so much water it fills my veggie draws with water ruining my food. Mold is present inside my ref now from constant leaks. Drawers were replaced by tech also due to ill-fitting design during first few months. Water will not dispense in door after one year, gave up using it. This is a horrible and very expensive appliance wrought with POOR DESIGN FLAWS. WHIRLPOOL does not care about its consumers. Their engineers must be some of the worst in the world. Our old 70-year-old kerosene powered refer in the Bahamas is still making ice, yet most modern day refs are like buying cheap home computers that constantly need service to keep them running. It’s a lifetime investment with $89 first service visit to determine problems then weeks of waiting for parts and second visit for the repair to be completed until next electronic malfunction. DONT BUY A NEW WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE. WAIT AS LONG AS YOU CAN FOR ALL THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST WHIRLPOOL & Kitchenaid to play out.

If I could give no stars I would. I own the Whirlpool Cabrio, which I bought only 2 years ago. Im on my 3rd service call. They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later its the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the deep water mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes arent clean. If I dont spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleachI dont use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I dont put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - its NOT, its the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I dont know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they dont stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Dont buy this washer if its still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isnt available (which I dont see on their site) I still wouldnt buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I waiting for my extended warranty to get back to me and then I have to make an appointment for the appliance company to come and fix it. This is crazy. All these days and I cant do laundry. This is not acceptable!

Model WTW4850OXQO. Purchased this washer in Nov. 2011. Two months ago the washer began making a loud grinding noise in the wash cycle, so loud it can be heard throughout the house. Called the dealer whose serviceman said it was the gearbox and it would need to be replaced. Cost of the gearbox $235.00 plus $165.00 service. Called Whirlpool in TN and was told that I didnt purchase their 1 yr warranty. What the hell is a 1 year warranty but me paying Whirlpool to fix their defective piece of crap in case it breaks in the 1st year. I owned a Kenmore that lasted 11 years, an RCA that lasted 12 years, and a Maytag that lasted 10 years. Never a problem til they died of old age. This piece of ** is breaking down after 3 1/2 years. NEVER buy Whirlpool! Also, the inside of the machine SMELLS. My wife has to use bleach or cleanser to get the smell out. Once again a company in the USA thats too big to care about its customers!

My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! About six years ago we purchased a matching Whirlpool HE washer and dryer from Lowes. Because of some previous issues we had had with a dishwasher we had bought, and at the direction of a repairman, we bought the 4 year extended warranty when we bought the washing machine and dryer. Thank heavens!!! About 3 months after the manufacturers warranty expired, I began to have issues with the washer. Again, thank heavens I had purchased the warranty through Lowes because after 6 visits from the repairman to fix one problem after another, Lowes finally junked the machine and said it was no longer cost effective to try to repair it. I was SO frustrated! And, attempts to contact Whirlpool regarding the issues were COMPLETELY useless!!! Thinking it was just a fluke, I replaced the broken washer with another exact model (I know, I know... should have done my homework!).This time, after replacing the motherboard within two months of owning the new machine, the machine began to work fine, and washed great! Again, I thought I had just gotten a lemon with the previous machine. But, here we are 4 years into owning the new one, and it has completely quit working. Clothes smelled like mildew despite cleaning the machine as recommended. So, I called out a repairman, he said the transmission had gone out and it would be cheaper to just replace the machine. What?? I spent almost $700 on it only 4 years ago! When I told him this, his response was that he had seen repeated problems with this machine and felt like they were disposable washing machines that you had to figure would only last a few years before having to be replaced. Again, WHAT??I dont know about everyone else, but I dont have $700 to throw around every 3-4 years to replace new appliances because the manufacturers cant/wont make a better product. We had owned a Whirlpool dishwasher, and it had all kinds of problems too. So, once again, I contacted Whirlpool about the washing machine and got nowhere!!! SO disappointing!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have EVER seen!!! On hold forever, only to talk to a customer service rep who not only sounds bored to death with their job, but certainly less than sympathetic (probably from having to field questions all day long about the poor quality of the product), and less than helpful because Whirlpool has no desire to fix the issues. Needless to say, I will NEVER own another Whirlpool appliance again! SO disappointed!!!

This washing machine is terrible. It barely cleans my clothes and frequently gets off balance. I am now on my second repair call in less than 3 years. (I bought the unit in the summer of 2013. It is now the winter of 2016.) The last repair guy tried to blame me, suggesting that I was filling it too much and with heavy materials. Last night, I washed 5 or 6 doggie towels. Not even large, bath sized towels. And the whole thing just stopped. It wont spin and wont unlock. What a piece of crap.

Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our hous
Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our house August 2013 and we were SO happy to see the stainless steel appliances and we thought Whirlpool was a good brand that our grandparents stood behind for years (they obviously havent bought from them in 50+ years... times must have changed for the worse). Anyway, I got all moved in and was fixing supper and noticed how REALLY dark and greasy the oven was. I could barely see inside because the coating of grime was so thick that it dimmed the light by being so thick over the glass bulb cover. I immediately thought Wow... the past homeowners were nasty and lazy because they have this nice self-cleaning oven and dont even bother to clean it. I noticed it smelled slightly like it had a gas leak somewhere when it was preheating but it cooked the supper okay that night.Because it was hotter than a jungle in NC in the summer heat of August, I decided to wait until winter to use the self-clean... thought it would warm the house as it got rid of the gunk, right? I kept using the dark coated oven about a total of 25 times and always noticed the faint gas smell at first when it would preheat. I thought maybe it was SO dirty that the oven seal wasnt working right and since it was now November, I figured I should just run the self clean cycle and maybe it would make it run properly as it was REALLY dirty and the igniter or something may actually be clogged. I figured it would probably stink a little at first when it started the cleaning cycle because of the excess build up but it needed cleaning so bad that I cleaned it... The smoke alarms started to go off, we just disconnected them for peace and quiet... Our throats and eyes were burning and it smelled more like plastic burning... FOR HOURS it was horrible! The walls and the Terracotta tile floor were flaming hot!!! The next morning the house actually smelled like it had caught on fire and it stayed that way for weeks! The oven was very clean inside after the cleaning BUT the oven is now totally useless! It will not stay lit. I have never been able to use it again as it will not come up to temperature... just clicks over and over and hisses trying to light. I tried again today and it started LOUDLY hissing like a big open gas pipe was on in there and I got scared and cut it off. THANK GOD it went off!I have been reading similar complaints about Whirlpool Gold ovens for a couple hours now and I am truly scared to use this oven now. After reading the comments of the hundreds of dollars it will take to get it to bake again and how most people STILL had the same reoccurring issues and NO help from Whirlpool... Well I decided to share my experience in hopes that if anyone else is reading this... and I am sorry to say... Well... you are not imagining the problem either. We never read these blogs like this BEFORE we buy or use our appliances, only AFTER something scares the crap out of you and you look for a recall. If I could afford to sue Whirlpool for a replacement then I would. I wish everyone could afford to sue Whirlpool for their unresolved issues that have cost them unnecessary expenses due to the customer loyalty we have had for Whirlpool as we used to be taught You get what you pay for and Do not go with an off brand because those companies go out of business when you need them to repair or service stuff. Am I the only one that was taught this? Times are very hard now and the economy is getting worse and now we have to be screwed by big companies like Whirlpool getting rich off of hardworking people and they do not care enough o help pay for the poor workmanship issues they are making. Shame on you, Whirlpool. I am taking the rest of the day to read reviews on a replacement stove so I can get this ticking time-bomb out of my new home. I too have read enough about the same oven that others have had worse memories than I did. I will not waste anymore of our hard-earned money on Whirlpool ovens. You have to decide what is good for you....

Yesterday morning I was in my bedroom when I heard a bang... I went in to the kitchen and looked around and couldnt see anything. Then I saw my cat sitting on the floor and looking up at the microwave... It was then I noticed that the glass on the front was all crazed and making a tinkling sound. Several pieces had fallen on the stove top underneath. I had to call the repair man who said he had never heard of this before. He had to remove the door. I could not use my stove with the danger of glass falling in to food. He had to order a new door and I had to spend $65 then. When he puts the door in, it will be another $200 or more.

We got a french door Whirlpool refrigerator about 15 months ago. Model Wrf757sdem01. There were problems from day one. Serviced about 6 times by 3 different companies... Died again less than 2 weeks ago. Finally the store decided to replace it. Was under an extended warranty. We have been without a fridge for over 10 days. It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. I hope we do not have to regret our replacement one which still is not installed! By the way the water filters have to be replaced to the tune of 100.00 a year. We are not going to use an icemaker or get water from the new one.

The washer went after 2yrs. use. I bought a Kenmore used washer and it still works. I paid cash for the stove. It was bought at a Sears outlet in Cudahy, WI for $398.58 total with the one year warranty. I really have not gotten the use of the price. I guarantee you (this company) I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance again. TOO BAD YOU COULD NOT RETURN A PARTIAL OF THIS MONEY TOO ME!!!!! If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. Theres no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, How cant I? Its happening to the refrigerator I own. They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They dont care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.

OMG. We had just purchased a house in Clermont Fl. At Appliance Direct on Citrus Tower, worse experience. Imagine my husband and myself had recently retired. Therefore we wanted to make sure whatever we purchased was to last since its not easy to replace anything on our fixed income. A few mos later the ice maker would make noise in the middle of the night and would not fill up completely. 1 yr it stopped making ice completely. We went to Appliance Direct only to find out that nothing could have been done. We purchased the extra warranty for approx 391 dollars. We then were told by Whirlpool that we would have to wait 60 days. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.

I purchased a new Whirlpool 3.6-cu ft Top-Load Washer (White-On-White) Model #: WTW4800BQ from Lowes on 11/1/14, which was only 3 ½ years ago. The washer began making noise during the spin cycle so we called for service. The technician claimed that the bearing pack needed to be replaced and the repair would cost $400. This amount is $20 higher than the amount I paid to purchase the washer. Because the warranty is only one year, I contacted Whirlpool today and spoke with a representative. The representative said they could repair it under the warranty. When I asked how to proceed, she then asked me if I had an extended warranty. When I replied that if I had an extended warranty, I would be using it. She declined any assistance. I now have to purchase a new washer after only 3 and ½ years. I own 10 rentals. I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in Jan 2014. The first thing I noticed was the installers bought the appliance in without a box. The next thing I noticed was the door would not close unless you gave it a big push. While looking around at the hinges, I found 2 hairline cracks at the base of the refrigerator and 2 dents. I called Service and they sent a technician out. The technician told me they are going to want to epoxy this and you will see it. They asked did it get delivered in the box, I said no. I asked why, she said it should have been delivered in the container so you would know that it is new and not a rejected one from a customer. I called Whirlpool to voice my issue with having this epoxied. Kecia was the CSR...she said that is the normal repair for a crack. I told her I had a Kenmore refrigerator for 23 years and it was still functional when I bought this. I replaced it to get the energy savings. I told her I wanted the refrigerator replaced. I told her that the cracks tells a story about the quality of the appliance. I asked her what happens if these cracks expand after the year warranty expires. She said you can buy the extended warranty. I said but the existing warranty will not cover the cracks...what will the the extended warranty do? I asked if there were any recalls...she said no. I asked have there been similar complaints about cracks and dings (not that I thought she would answer yes). She said no unless someone had stepped on the base of it. I told her I lived alone and I definitely did not step on the base of the refrigerator. She got aggravated (almost to the point of being rude) and said Mam, no one said you stood on the base. I asked her repeatedly if there was someone else I could speak with. Her repeated answer was I am authorized to speak with you. She wouldnt let me to speak with anyone else. I am done with Whirlpool and stuck with this substandard refrigerator. Not happy at all in Va.

We purchased our a model WTW7800XWO 7 years ago. Our lid kept falling down when loading and unloading. Very annoying. 3 years ago it failed to lock down which means the washer will not start. We learned to press down on the lid sides to get it to lock. Then it became loose where it connects to washer and we duct taped it to make it work. We put up for that for a year before having a repairman attach a new lid. 1 year later it did the same thing... And we put up with it hoping it wouldnt totally fail. Today it failed. Since the 1st repair cost 250.00 we decided that we will get a new washer rather than spend another 250.00. We will go with American made Speed Queen. We have had Whirlpool appliances since we were married 50 years ago.

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio. Noticed it was getting really loud less than a year into owning it. Called while it was under warranty. The tech said it was fine. Within the next year and a half it got so loud, you cant hear anything else in the house while it is running. Now it is leaking from the tub seals and the bearings are going out according to two service techs I have had come look at it. They say it is more expensive to fix than the washer is even worth. This is due to the parts that would be used to fix it are the same cheap Whirlpool parts that were put in it in the first place. They both said that these are not good washers and commonly go out about a year and half to three years old. Shame on Whirlpool for making such a low quality product and not being willing to do anything about it.

I purchased a washing machine in year 2002. It was working perfectly. Recently, its drive belt started slipping. I called local service center, S. R. Enterprises, with mobile number 9204792391.The technician came after 3 days and declared that the gear box is leaking and will have to be replaced. They had no gearbox in stock for model f45, top loading, fully automatic. After a wait, they took away the machine to their workshop on 30.09.2011 and returned it on 04.10.2011.They charged me Rs. 4,730. I will have to be replaced. I found that its LID, which was perfectly okay, is now making a terrible sound when opened and would fall down, not allowing to load the machine. I informed the service center immediately. After many reminders, a man turned up yesterday and declared that the LID will have to be replaced and I will have to pay Rs. 2,000 for that. I rang up the service center to say, Since it has been damaged in your workshop, you should replace it free of cost to me. Their reply was evasive and negative. I called your call center and they registered my complaint - customer number **, comp. number **. I was assured that the LID will be replaced within 24 hours.

I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator and the warranty company sent a technician out to repair my refrigerator. It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty wont refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says itll take 2 weeks before I can get that. After mailing in writing that I want to cancel 500 dollars wasted and no one wants to help. Thanks Whirlpool. Ill definitely let all my family and friends know of my experience.

We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. I wont be buying anything Whirlpool EVER again.

They inform me that its a cosmetic issue and that they are not going to repair it. They told me to use touch up paint. The paint has chipped more than once and Im afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue. Its obviously a product defect (my last fridge lasted 27 years without incident). I dont do business with companies who dont stand behind the products they manufacture. These days its all about get their money and the hell with them once we do. This is our 2nd circuit board failure in the 4-5 yrs, since we purchased this very expensive range/oven. The first time was shortly after the warranty ran out and Whirlpool would not even send us the part for free. They said there was nothing they could do. So this time we are not even contacting them and are just having our repairman order another new one. For a $1600 range to have to put more than $400 back in so far, I would never buy a Whirlpool again. I have been very careful not to use any cleaners on the circuit board as I was told by our repairman that that shorts them out. First the convect bake button wouldnt work, nor the convect roast, now the bake button, so the only buttons that work are broil and warm. Even the timer is shot. What a piece of junk (electronically). Beware buyers!

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. I guess Im done with Whirlpool, running out of appliance brands to blacklist here...

Absolutely read the reviews on this machine before deciding on a purchase. I have experienced with great frustration every issue addressed in other reviews. Clothes constantly have to be rewashed. The Quick cycle will leave your clothes in a puddle of water. But then there is no spin only cycle to correct that. I have purchased Whirlpool washers before with great satisfaction but this machine is not worth the money I paid for it and does not save me on water or electricity costs because of all the rewashing I have to do. Like others I am stuck with this machine until it dies. You lost me as a customer, Whirlpool.

I purchased 5 Whirlpool appliances when I moved into a new home approximately 5 years ago. The selection buttons on the plastic panels on the front of 3 (dishwasher, washer and dryer) out of the 5 appliances has either broken completely through or are in the process of breaking through, leaving an ugly appearance on the front of the appliances. When inquiring if I could replace these panels, I was told that one (dishwasher) would cost me $100.00. I believe that the structure of these panels has been extremely poorly manufactured. Why would you put perforation around each button? It is obvious that they would push through. What can Whirlpool do for me?

I purchased a dishwasher and hooked it up. The reason I install products myself is I dont like people in my house. I dont know if they are there to help or inventory what they plan to rob from me later. It did not drain so I called Whirlpool who said that I probably hooked it up wrong. Whirlpool said that they would send a service man but if it was hooked up wrong I would have to pay for the service. The service man did arrive and had tattoos all over his neck and arms. (A tear drop would have confirmed that he was a murderer). The machine was hooked up correctly, the water pump was not working at all. The service company that Whirlpool contracted took 3 day to order the part. Yes three day to even order the part. Then another 10 days to get the part in. I called Whirlpool and they did not seem to care at all. My thought is, I am out $599 plus tax, and I have to wait 2 weeks to get my machine fixed, plus I have to take hours off work to wait for the service man and now I have to worry about the service man breaking into my house and robbing me and Whirlpool doesnt care. They should have to pay for the time I was off work and for the interest I lost on the money not being in my account during that two weeks. Whirlpool didnt care at all though. Our Whirlpool refrigerator, model MODGI5FSAXVYO, began leaking water from the freezer onto the floor about 3 months ago. We purchased the unit in January 2011. We had to keep a towel on the floor to absorb the moisture. Our troubles began after the freezer door was left ajar and the interior became quite frosty. We had turned off the freezer several times to defrost but nothing helped until this morning when I read the comments of Marea of McClellanville, SC and Ruth of Vavenby, BC.I then decided to begin exploring taking apart everything until I reached the freezer unit in the back of the freezer. I discovered a lot of ice with the ice blocking the drain hole which is supposed to drain condensation from the freezer fins to a drain pan in back of the freezer. Apparently, leaving the freezer door ajar caused the drain hole and surrounding area to ice up. Condensation from the fins would keep dripping until it overflowed onto the bottom of the freezer until it filled up with ice. The water then had nowhere to go but out of the freezer onto the floor. The simple solution to this problem is to turn off the fridge, empty out the freezer and allow the frozen drain hole to thaw out. You can easily remove the back panel of the refrigerator to see if water is then draining into the drain pain. Good Luck! Ed

I wish to file a complaint regarding a Whirlpool flattop electric range that we purchased approximately eight years ago. After the first year, a residue began to build up behind the glass on the front of the oven door. Finally, about 18 months ago, I decided to try to unscrew the back of the door in order to clean this since it got increasingly worse year by year. When I unscrewed the door, the side metal bars broke off and the range is to say the least, looked very unappealing . When the oven self cleans it makes the outside of the oven brown and very unappealing. This is a Whirlpool Gold, Super Capacity 465 range. We have been dissatisfied from the beginning. This complaint is not about the retailer, it is about the Whirlpool product. Please help as I am quite dissatisfied with this Whirlpool product at this time.

I recently purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator, model number WRT351SFYB00. Several months later, I noticed a small amount of water on my kitchen floor. I moved the refrigerator and found the hard wood floor under it had been completely ruined, so the leak had obviously been going on for a long time. Possibly since day one. I called a repair man. He identified the leak was coming from a cracked drip tray which was not uncommon. However, much to his surprise, due to the design of this model, he was unable to remove and replace the tray. He explained there was a metal panel bolted in place that was preventing him from replacing it. He said this panel was also bolted to the compressor. Therefore, the best he could do was caulk whatever cracks he found in the existing tray and hope for the best. It goes without saying he could not guarantee his work like he normally does.I noticed this same complaint on a user forum website on Appliancepartspros.com, so this refrigerator obviously has a significant design flaw. My repairman said if it was his refrigerator, hed get rid of it, and also indicated that after seeing this, hed never again recommend Whirlpool to anyone. All I know is that Whirlpool is permanently off of my list now as well.

As with other posts here, the rear bearing is going out of Whirlpool Duet front loading washer. I purchased mine in late 2008. Moderate use always according to recommendations. I called Whirlpool and same story--no recall and it would be expensive to have it repaired. I cant see putting $400 to $500 in parts even if I repair it myself. I cant believe that with such a common problem, Whirlpool wouldnt either honor a repair or offer a reasonable bearing package to fix. It requires the entire back, half of a new drum. I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. We bought this unit (Whirlpool fridge #WRF555SDF201) in November 2016. Was so excited! The fridge looks great, love the French doors, and the freezer. Its the ice maker! It spews crushed ice all over every time it is used. Its like the setting is stuck in-between crushed and cubed. Every time it is used ice goes on floor and I have to clean it up. If a small child uses it they get ice in their face and down their shirts. I have been told from Whirlpool and Lowes that it is in the design and they will not even try to fix it. They will definitely not replace it. Lowes claims they know about the way Whirlpool designs their ice makers and that they mention it to prospective buyers, but I know they did not tell me of this design flaw in the product before we bought it. I now simply have to deal with it. It is less than a year old and I burn with disappointment every time I use the ice maker. I am even more disappointed in the lack of concern for me, the customer. We bought 6 Whirlpool appliances at the same time from Lowes about 6 months ago. It will take awhile but they will NOT be replace with Whirlpool or purchased at Lowes.

In June 2015 the freezer first konked out, so I started using my deep freezer. Then by October the fridge went. I called in my repair guy, who told me he sees this all the time with this fridge and carries many motors for these garbage fridges in his vehicle at all times. So $375.00 later it worked for about 3 1/2 months. Just long enough until the warranty again ran out. At this time I started to read the reviews about Whirlpool, and I was so mad at myself for not reading the reviews first. All I can say is I would never ever recommend this product. I am glad to see this junk out of my home. I never wasted TIME CONTACTING WHIRLPOOL, AS BY THE REVIEWS I READ, THEY DONT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. THEY ARENT WORTH THE TIME.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer with the glass lid. This is not a good washer to buy! The clothes do not get clean. Have to set it to bulk to get enough water to even cover clothes. Biggest issue is the lid. I have had to order a new one as it cracked on both sides back by control panel. I took the old lid off and discovered why the lid cracked. I have read many complaints about this same issue and everyone said Whirlpool would do nothing about it or even acknowledge there was a problem. Here is the problem. On each side there is a spring to hold the lid up while in the open position. The lid is plastic. When I tried to push those lid pins down with the lid off they would not go down. The springs are too strong for the plastic. When the lid is down the springs are trying to hold the lid up, so they are pushing against the plastic. Given time the springs win out against the plastic and the lid cracks and breaks. I am just a simple housewife and I figured this out! I hope that every manufacturer that is making glass top lids STOPS making them out of plastic, uses metal instead, uses a spring that is not as strong, or foregoes the current design and comes up with something that is better. It is for certain that I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance!

I just finished reading multiple complaints that sound very similar to my experience in 2014. I bought a fridge for a rental unit in Oct. 2013. The freezer malfunctioned and froze up in back, 6/2014. Had multiple repairs with the problem going unfixed. After a couple of months with my renter without a fridge and laborious system requiring multiple phone calls on my part to get an exchange approved. The exchange went thru. It was delivered the am of Sept 11. Guess what? It was dented on the side. The delivery personnel thought is was prior reject and it was an attempt to get me to accept it as is with a small cost reduction off the original purchase price. NO thank you! So still no fridge from Whirlpool as of 9/13/14 that is functioning from Whirlpool and yet to have a call back from Whirlpool regarding the mishap. No apology, no remorse, just the way they do business. I will say that my local HOME DEPOT was willing to send me a loaner fridge for my renter for his garage. NOT ideal but better than nothing and quite nice of them and an example of what customer service should be! Thank You HOME DEPOT! SHAME ON WHIRLPOOL! Not sure how this will end but obviously is common them after reading the reviews. I am now concerned if they do replace it again with an undamaged fridge it will repeat the same dysfunction pattern and I will have to go this painful process all over again! EEEEK. Refrig WRT771REYBOO, VS33469859 BTW I had to pay for spoilage of food for my rent on multiple occasions because the repairs work for a week or so and my renter would stock up the fridge and it would go out and he would lose food. Whirlpool gave me a 50 food spoilage card after much complaining bc go figure the warranty does not cover food spoilage but apparently the extended does. Go figure?

In August 2012 I purchased a side-by-side fridge with indoor water/ice dispenser. The appliance was purchased from Sears and delivered and installed by their employees or contractors. In November 2014 the refrigerator abruptly stopped making ice and began continuously cycling through the ice making process without creating ice cubes. Repairman told me the ice maker needs to be replaced for $300. He stated the control board went bad and the only recourse is an out of pocket replacement of the entire ice maker. A two year old fridge. The fridge has never been moved, abused, misused or dirty. It has only been used in a two adult home under normal household conditions. I would have thought an item that cost $1000 would last longer than two years!
