My wife and I spent about $2500 on a new Whirlpool Dutch Door fridge five years ago. 18 months later the evaporator went out and the warranty was only good for one year! We bought an extended warranty, got it fixed and the other evaporator went out less than a year later after that! Next, the circuit board control on the crisper went out. Then, the water filter would not disengage and a repairman had to take the fridge apart just to put in a new filter! And now, the ice-maker has gone out and the fan is icing up like another evaporator is going... Insane! Our warranty is up next year. Once the warranty ends we will start shopping for another unit - and it wont be a Whirlpool - thats for sure. I have never owned anything this unreliable in my entire life! Also, I would say most of the time we have owned this piece of you-know-what it has made a loud disturbing fan noise... What a waste of good money! Run! Run far, far away!!!

After seven long years of one issue after another, about once a year replacing one part after another, draining the unit to replace parts, waking up to cold water, I finally gave up and replaced this Whirlpool water heater, model model # FD1H4040T3ENOV unit. Never to buy a Whirlpool unit again. Thanks for the memories.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in 2013. In 11 months we have made at least 6 calls concerning the same issues machine leaving white residue on clothes. It has been one thing after another. Today the manager told me that my warranty only covered parts and not a replacement machine. I am washing my clothes two or three times to get them so we can wear them. First this is not saving water, energy, time and most of all CLOTHES. We are wearing our clothes out washing them. This is unacceptable. With this many complaints, the company has to know they have a machine with issues. I will never purchase Whirlpool again. I think we should all band together and file an action against Whirlpool. These machine cost too much money to be crappy.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge (WRF560SFHZ) 3.5 years old not cheap! Suddenly one day, the freezer drawer cannot close properly. Since it broke down on a long weekend, I have to wait 3 days in order to contact Whirlpool customer services. And then wait for another 4 days for them to send a technician. The technician advised it is a screw on the rail fall down and he fixed it and charged as 115CAD repairing fee (for a loose screw). He said it is a product defect from Whirlpool and that we should call Whirlpool to ask for a refund.Of course after a long wait from the hotline, Whirlpool refused to refund, saying that, It is not within warranty period and it is perfectly normal that you paid for 17** CAD fridge and can only used for 3,5 years and that things happens (screw can get loose). The service rep. even said, You bought it, it is your property now... And they dont care you have to throw away food in the freezer since the door cannot be closed. And of course they refuse to admit that the product has an inherent defect... Will never buy this brand ever again!

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater that claimed to come with a 6-year warranty on parts. Its been a little over two years that we owned the product, and we noticed rust on the bottom. We checked to make sure if water or even moisture is visible from the outside - nothing. The problem is obviously coming from the inside. Since we have warranty, we called them and got nowhere! We were told that it is just cosmetic. They refused to send out a technician to take a look at it. We even emailed them pictures (see pictures) and still nothing, no service. Their warranty is a joke. We will never by any Whirlpool product ever again. Dont believe the sticker that claims you are covered for a certain amount of time. When it comes down to it, they will not do anything for you.

This machine is JUNK and in need of a recall!! DO NOT BUY!!! This was purchased at Lowes for nearly $800 a couple of years ago and what a waste of money. During the first year, they had to send out a tech that told me he was not familiar with top loaders and was not sure why the clothes were not getting clean, nor why they came out with a white residue on the dark clothes. We used the machine cleaner - which the cycles take nearly an hour (how is that efficient?), put in a load of dark clothes WITH NO SOAP and guess what? Then he had me dump in a gallon of vinegar to clean the tub and the wall of the washer and repeated the process and guess what? He informed me that it was just lint. Well, after several visits and using a suggested pin drop of soap, the problem remained. I finally asked him if he was so sure it was lint and not soap residue, would he be willing to taste the lint? It was soap.Obviously after an hour of washing in the efficient washer, the clothes are not getting rinsed. I know this because in just putting in less than ten dark t-shirts, they came out dry!!! He informed me that since he was a contractor for Whirlpool, he was not allowed to continue to come back as he resolved the problem that I was using too much soap! Well, that is only part of the problem. This piece of crap leaks. We not only have a water softener, but a household filter system. In just the last three months, we have replaced the hoses as they are corroding. We were informed by Lowes that the hoses that came with the washers were from China and that they have been replacing them with US made hoses to the customers at no charge due to the amount of returns. Well, those too have been corroding and now I once again have water on the floor. It cost $1.75 to take my clothes to the Laundromat, 26 minutes to wash and ten minutes to get there and back. That is what I have been doing, and using my 23 year old dryer when I get home. It is a shame that the company is not responding to an obvious problem. I only wash two loads in a week - not like I am beating the thing to death with numerous loads or heavy loads. I will not recommend, in fact, I BEG you not to spend your hard earned money on this junk. Buy a $200 washer and if it too craps out in three, four or five years... you are still ahead. You will even save money on headache medication and save your sanity.

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator because of the brand in August of 2011. Its December 2012, the entire door needs to be replaced. It appears the cost will be as much as the original $750 investment! We called Whirlpool expecting they would stand behind their brand after hardly 18 months, but no ... It is clearly a defective door to begin with.

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold series french door refrigerator 3 years ago.
I purchased my Whirlpool Gold series french door refrigerator 3 years ago. I bought Whirlpool because it being an American company and a brand I thought I would be pleased with. Wrong! I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! Just a year old, my ice maker stopped working. Then, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Circuit boards were replaced, fan motors, etc. over $1500.00 in parts and labor and the entire summer to have it fixed. This past August, ice maker stopped working again. Then, stopped cooling. I am now at week 6 without a functioning refrigerator. While I am thankful I have an extended warranty, through the store that I purchased this refrigerator, I am not thrilled with the amount of time that has passed between each visit and the fact that it is the exact same parts that are once again being replaced. This refrigerator is a LEMON. Do not buy this brand.

Worst purchase I have ever made. When I purchased this Cabrio washer in 2015, I didnt find bad reviews but how I wish I had. This washer does not clean clothes well. It has caused holes in clothing and towels. Often all the load wont even be damp even if using the deep water feature. The wash loads rarely fill more than couple of inches. Clothes come out twisted and terribly wrinkled. Sheets and blankets will be half dry and unclean. TERRIBLE APPLIANCE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Now I am stuck with a high priced washer I wouldnt even feel good about giving away. WONT FILL. RUINS CLOTHES. TANGLES LOADS. DOESNT CLEAN. DOESNT RINSE PROPERLY. DO NOT BUY!

Originally installed early 2007, the very expensive unit went crazy after about 14 months, with random beeping noises, and non-response to keyboard entry. Sometimes unplugging the unit worked. When unplugging no longer worked, the unit was repaired by replacing the keyboard logic boards only to fail again the same way.about a year later. It appeared the heat or steam from the cooktop below the microwave was causing the failures, so we became careful to ensure the fan was on. Last week, after boiling some water, the unit failed again, with error code F2H2, the keyboard error. Didnt Whirlpool expect the microwave to survive heat or steam from the stove/cooktop below? Overall, the unit is great when it works. Unfortunately due to the large size of the 2 cu ft unit, only an identical unit will fit. Im skeptical of replacing my broken unit with another Whirlpool Velos unless this keyboard problem has been fixed in new units. Anybody know if Whirlpool has fixed this problem?

My Cabrio was built in April 2016, its now Feb 2019, and its not working. Shows error code of LF, the inlet water value is bad. I bought a Sears protection plan, repairman comes out, tells me no-one has the part anywhere, its backordered and no way to know when it will deliver. Sounds like a scam so Sears doesnt have to fix it and Whirlpool makes little to none of the part so you have to buy a new machine. This machine also takes forever to wash clothes, sometimes part of the clothes come out dry because not enough water. Its a huge tub, but of no use because theres not enough water to clean properly therefore, you have to do small loads. I always put it on high water because the other features like, quick wash & normal do not give but only little streams of water! The first one I had delivered made a funny noise from day one so Sears replaced it the next day. This one has NOT even lasted 3 yrs. There needs to be new legislation placed upon these companies with regards to the products they make. It should be illegal to make such junk and be able to charge high dollar for it and it doesnt operate well or last very long. They are laughing all the way to the bank on everyones dollar, intentionally making products that last less than a few years! I Will NOT purchase Whirlpool or any of their products again! They owe me a new Cabrio and Im going to make sure I get it and get my moneys worth! DONT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS JUNKER! DONT BE FOOLED BY ITS PRETTY SLEEK LOOK.

We bought this washing machine in 2013 from Plass, an appliance store in Chicago that is now out of business. The top loading plastic lid that holds the glass piece snapped and broke. I called the company, and they said that there is not a recall but that I could order parts. They put me on hold, and 10 minutes later, I was on the phone with a company in Missouri that wanted to sell me a lid for $219.38 plus tax and shipping. I am surprised to see that others are having the same problem and that there are no recalls from Whirlpool!

Both washer and dryer have rust on the tops and the writing is fading.

My son purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer as a Christmas gift on 12-24-10 from Sears. It didnt wash the clothes properly and I would have to rewash them. Also, it would not spin the cloths properly and the top would take forever to unlock. Then in July, I called for repair because the water would not spin out at all. It took at least two weeks for them to come out. Another two weeks to get the part they ordered then to find out that they also needed another part that was not diagnosed in the first place. After another three weeks had gone by and having to go to the laundry to wash our clothes several times, it was finally fixed. I continued to have problems with the clothes not getting cleaned. How can this possibly be an energy efficient product when you have to do the load twice? I am so grateful to my son for the gift but am so dissatisfied with the product. I rate this product 1 out of 5 stars.

Three years ago I bought a Whirlpool 22 cf bottom freezer (GB2FHDXWB02) & within 2 weeks it developed its first problem. Ive had service men out 3 times (on an extended warranty) for ice buildup and leakage, presumably from the icemaker, and the problem hasnt been solved yet. I tried to open the freezer tonight and the handle pulled off in my hands, nearly sending me head over heels. This thing is a major lemon!!! Dont get me wrong: I love the design! It looks good, keeps everything at the right temps & the bottom freezer is a great idea. Id buy the same design again if I could guarantee no leakage and a handle that wont separate from the door. Now Im having problems getting the repair service to come out here again, despite the warranty. Meanwhile, the fridge is leaking onto the wood laminate floor causing damage. I just replaced an ancient dishwasher & my old Whirlpool glasstop stove after its oven failed. I cant afford a new fridge too.

I bought my Cabrio Platinum Washer and Dryer in 2013 (4 years old). About a month ago, it started sounding like an airplane was landing in the house while on spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said the bearings were going bad and it would be better to buy a new machine. When we pulled out the washer, there was grease all over the floor - apparently a seal started leaking and the bearings had no grease so they started burning up. I talked with Whirlpool, after all it was only 4 years old and a seal leaking and burning the bearings up wouldnt be from normal wear. They were not convinced and offered to give me a discount on a new one -- No Way! I went with another brand recommended by the repairman. The screws on the dryer door also came out and we had to replace them. So much for the Whirlpool brand and especially their top of the line machines. I will not buy another Whirlpool washer or dryer.

I am writing this complaint because of the very poor service of Whirlpool. My washing machine broke after 1 year of use. Luckily, I was on my 2-year insurance. The wiring fully collapsed and I needed to change the whole drum. I called Whirlpools customer service and they said that they would fix the problem after 2 weeks. They came on the day and found out the problem and ordered a new drum. They said they would fix it up on the 5th of December, and it has already been over 3 weeks. On the 4th of December, Whirlpool called me and said that the item they had ordered for me has been damaged. I am not satisfied by these products because it is only a drum (it cant break that easily). I cannot recommend this company to my friends and family due to the quality of the products and the poor customer service as I was waiting on the phone for almost an hour trying to get through.

I am posting to help anyone else avoid the purchase of this machine! The lid has cracked and now warped into a position where it wont stay down. Obviously a washer will not work without being in the locked position, so we have to put several heavy things on top of it just to run a load of laundry. This is not what we expect out of a washer that we paid $900 for only two years ago!!!! We contacted Whirlpool and they offered to fix it for $350. REALLY??? I SHOULD NOT have to pour money into a washer this expensive after two years!!!! I am so disappointed in Whirlpool, this was the entire reason we purchased Whirlpool products, to avoid stress of broken appliances. We wanted reliability for our busy family and instead we bought into more stress.

My Whirlpool refrigerator model #ED5FHEXV001, serial #HR0248 - I have spoken to a couple of reps on the phone. I am very dissatisfied because it was like one rep I spoke with on the telephone advised me to buy an extended warranty and at that time, the company would consider alternative ways to deal with this complaint and perhaps replace the refrigerator. I did not want to pay an additional $100 for a warranty, unless the company would guarantee me a solution, preferably my money back. I did not really believe the warranty would help me after the warranty was expired. I would still have the same problem and I feel that in the event after the extra warranty expired, the company would tell me I should have kept the coils clean, which is my complaint. There is no way to keep the coils clean. I guess blowing out the residue, then all that residue material would end up all in my house. Also, very important, there have been 3-4 technicians to my house the first year. I was told various things to do, such as adjust the refrigerator to a lower setting and freezer to a little higher setting. One tech actually replaced a part? The second tech said he would clean the coils. The last tech told me the problem was my coils had to stay clean. My question is, how the heck is that possible with the coils on the bottom of the fridge and susceptible to a lot of dust and dirt, unless I move my fridge everyday? Most people do not expect to have to clean under the fridge each day and the coils would still be dirty anyway. It is very dumb that the coils are not on the back of the fridge. With the fridge coils on the back, I have never experienced this problem. Please advise what my next step would be. Thank you.

I was doing a routine refrigerator cleaning and the glass I was cleaning absolutely shattered all over my kitchen. Shards of glass are everywhere including my disposal. I called Whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep. Of course, this is not under warranty. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I could get from her is Sorry, youre disappointed. We can replace that part for $87.71. It has taken me over two hours to clean up all the glass. I wouldnt be upset if I had mishandled the glass, but it broke when I was drying it with a towel! I’m wondering if anyone elses glass shattered in the same fashion.

I have had the Whirlpool washer for almost a year. It has multiple settings for different types of laundry, i.e. towels, bedding/bulky, colors. It is intuitive. My husband is able to put laundry in and is able to figure out which cycle to use. The tub is roomy and holds large items well. The dryer I just purchased in the last month or so. It matches my washer and so far I love it. It has very similar settings that match the washer. The lint filter is very effective, cleaning after each load is highly recommended. It dries quickly and is quiet.

I bought the Cabrio Platinum Set approximately 3 yrs ago. These is the worst products I have bought ever. The dryer didnt dry properly since day 1 w/the energy saver setting. I have always had to run a time dry in order to get properly dried clothing. Sometimes things still come out damp. The washer well the washer as I said the WORST product EVER. Approximately 3 yrs old and it leaks all over my laundry room unless surrounded by towels to suck up the water. During the wash it has the worst smell ever. And while spinning it jumps around and is so loud, you can hear it all through my 3 story home. We have complained we have written, emailed, called and have been offered nothing. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again ever. The least they could do is stand by their product. For the price of this set it should have lasted much much longer. I had a Kenmore washer and dryer set that we bought it was not even top of the line I would say probably a cheaper model of theirs that lasted 10+ yrs we bought it brand new and my friend bought it when I changed to a front loader which by the way was one of the cheaper ones but was still better than this piece of **. It started breaking about 1 yr after we bought it. We have already fixed a few things but will not spend another dime on it. Now its not even cleaning. I now have to buy yet another washer. From what I have read either Whirlpool needs to up their game or just go out of business.

Whirlpool Dryers: I have 2 Duet Dryers and the user interface has gone bad with both several times. I called whirlpool several times to repair. The last time, they refused to repair the dryer. I started having problems with my dryers within the first 6 months of owning them. The repair guy that they sent out the first time said this repair was a major problem with the duets but the company chooses to not acknowledge the problem. They should be required to have a recall. Never by this dryer, you will regret it!

Purchased this set in January of this year 2016. The loudness of this machine struck me first along with the constant banging of the pipes in the basement when filling with warm water. The agitator is very loud. Thought I was trading up from a 10 year old Whirlpool front loader set. There is hardly any water in the washer when running a full load. I take clothes out that are not only a twisted tight mess but in some spots are not even wet!!! The dark clothes inevitably need to be rewashed because there is white residue on them!!! I have used the pods and liquid and it doesnt seem to matter, happens with both. Customer service has no answers and say theyve never heard this before. How can this washer wash clothes when there is no water and little if any movement of clothes??? And how is it that we are all saying the same exact things and Whirlpool is not being held accountable??? I DONATED my working fine set to a dog rescue and am now stuck with a brand new machine that works PERFECTLY HORRIBLY. So who is watching you Whirlpool???

We bought this combo at Lowes and was looking forward to their arrival. Unfortunately, we have had so many problems with both appliances. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

But the temperature would decrease to the point of not cooking the food. On Dec 18, 2015, my hot water heater located in my garage started spewing water out into my garage, driveway, and into the street. I called Lowes, whom I purchased the water heater in Jan 2011, in which it was still under warranty. I was told to call (Whirlpool) 877 817 6750, the order was placed for a gas shut out valve after going through a check system. I was then given the names of two local preferred technicians to repair water heater, whom was not available. The representative from Whirlpool (American water heater) told me I can get the plumber of my choice, authorization number was given. I had to call the (Whirlpool) (American Water Heater) back and was told the part was ordered 2 times. The first part will come on Dec 19, 2015 by UPS, and that the second part will come on Dec 21 by UPS, that a prepackaged label for return will be attached, and to tape the 2 boxes together to send back to the company--one box with the old part, and one box with the new. So, I sent the boxes to an address in Junction City, Tn. But I was not sent prepaid label, so I kept by word and spent $14. I will not be reimbursed according to American Water in which I followed their directions to a tee. So the walk away, the customer is always wrong, staff is not being trained the right way, and as a customer I am out of money and making adjustments to the way of customer service. No service. Just a waste of time, effort, and money.

In 2011 we bought a Whirlpool Washer (WTW4950XW). We had a one year warranty. There have been problems ever since we bought it. Of course it is no longer under warranty. In the last few months we have encountered brown spots on clothing. The washer has always spent an inordinate amount of time Scanning. It does not matter how much I readjust the load. I ALWAYS must do an extra Spin and Drain. Sometimes Rinse and Drain helps...sometimes not. Sometimes the machine indicates it MIGHT be finished washing but only the clothing on the bottom of the load is damp. It does not rinse the soap out. Recently when I washed my husbands coat several times -- he had to finally hang it in the shower when he bathed to get the soap out.We had repairmen out once when we had the warranty. They said the drainage hose was wrong. We adjusted that. I called Whirlpool more than once about our problems. They said they could not help because we had no warranty. OK. One young lady said we could get a 5 year warranty for $353. For $499 we might get a machine without all the 747 dials and tweets and fewer government, EPA amenities. Whats wrong with this picture? My old washer lasted 30 years. We are very, very sorry we did not repair it. All I want is a washer that will provide me with clean clothing, towels, sheets and blankets in a timely manner. That does not seem to me to be too much to expect. I am considering a washboard! Or the shower for ALL my laundry! I am angry and frustrated. I always considered Whirlpool a good brand.

I had started the dishwasher and had gone to bed last night. I came downstairs ten minutes later to get a bottle of water. There was smoke throughout my downstairs levels. Our Whirlpool Gold Dishwashers control had dark, noxious smoke emitting from it. I tried to turn it off but it was too hot to touch. I went to the breaker box and shut it off there, turned on fans, and went back to bed. This morning, it turned the electricity back on. It started smoking again. I tried to cancel the cycle but it wouldnt cancel. I opened the door to stop the cycle and it continued spraying water and still wouldnt shut down. I had to shut it off at the breaker again. Next problem is my refrigerator, washer and dryer are all on the same breaker. UGH! This is the second Whirlpool I have had. The first one had a rusted tub that leaked into our basement. The repair guy said he had never seen that before...sure...why would you put something in a dishwasher that would rust out on you? Whirlpool, NEVER AGAIN. I WILL PASS THIS INFO ON TO EACH AND EVERY PERSON I EVER KNOW. COUNT ON IT.

I purchased a Duet Front Loading Washer (model WFW9750) in May 2010. In September 2011, the noise level had become intolerable. I called a local service company. They advised me that the main bearing was bad. It would cost more to repair than what it was worth. I contacted Whirlpool. They could not do anything unless the machine was inspected by one of their authorized service companies, which they scheduled. Two weeks later, A&E Factory Service arrived and confirmed that the bearing is bad and the cost to repair will be $1,542.06. Whirlpool customer service transferred me all over the country to tell me that the machine was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine on 16 Feb 2011. I started having problems with it in June. It was making very loud noises when it was agitating and the clothes were still wet after the spin cycle. I called Nebraska Furniture Mart where I purchased it and they said that after 30 days, I had to call the manufacturer. I called Whirlpool and they sent A&E out to fix it. The technician that came out spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it. When he was gone, I was left with two inches of water on my washroom floor and I had to pull the washer and dryer out myself to wipe it up. He ordered a part that came the next week and a different technician came out to put it in. After looking at the washer, the second technician said that the first technician diagnosed it wrong and he ordered a new transmission for it. About a week later, the transmission arrived at my house and a third technician came to install it. The washer worked for a few days and started acting up again and leaking water. I once again called Whirlpool and they sent yet another technician out. I told Whirlpool that I had lost faith in A&E so they sent All Appliances out. The technician from All Appliances said that it needed a transmission and he would have to order it in. A few days later, he came back to install it. It worked for a few loads. The leaking had stopped but now, it does not spin out the clothes. To make matters worse, it now releases the Downy at the wrong time and I now have blue spots all over my clothes. I have made repeated calls to Whirlpool and talked to two different managers. I asked the first manager for her direct number so I wouldnt have to go through the whole explanation again if I needed to call back. But she gave me her number without her 4-digit extension so, there was no way of finding her again. When I talked to the second manager (by this time, I have lost my patience), I told him my whole story and I told him that Whirlpool has spent $1,000.00 between parts and technician service on a $460.00 machine and it still doesnt work. It is a lemon and I deserve a voucher for the full price to purchase something different. After one and a half hours on the phone, Lukas informed me that the only thing he could do was to send yet another technician to my home. I have lost all faith in Whirlpool and I believe that they do not stand behind their product. They only push you until the warranty has expired! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again!

In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer
In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer and dryer. It was placed in and used in a six unit apartment building occupied by 8 long term adults. Prior washers and dryers had been operational for years with minor repairs at times. In June of 2019 the interior cement center balance on the top of the washer drum broke with resulting damage to screws securing the center balance and potentially other unknown parts. This was reported to Whirlpool customer Care service and they referred me to one of their a repair services. The repair service in about early August repaired the washer. In late September 2019 the cement balance broke a second time and this was again reported to Whirlpool service who requested I notify their recommended repair service. On inspecting the washer the repair service stated the entire washer was required to be rebuilt. The labor for installation of would cost me $1,125 with Whirlpool providing the parts under their warranty. The $1,125 labor cost was just under what I paid for a new coin operated front load washer. I reported this to Whirlpool whose supervising staff, without any inspection of damaged washer as to determine whether the washer was fit for its purpose when sold as a commercial washer, rejected any replacement of the less one year old washer and insisted they would only pay for the parts and I would have to pay for the labor, particularly when the both the cost of the replacement parts and the labor would be substantially in excess of a new machine. Due to time and effort constraints the problem was resolved by simply dumping the defective washer and purchasing a new commercial front load washer from a more responsible company.

Purchased a Whirlpool double door refrigerator and within a year the freezer and refrigerator doors were severely out of line. Called repairman who said the risers were broken, they were plastic and needed to be replaced. We did that. The doors were again out of line so badly that you had to push the refrigerator door side hard to get it to close. Repairman came today and stated he would recommend ditching the refrigerator as the risers in the bottom of the refrigerator are made of plastic and will continue to break. He leveled the doors but stated that they will continue to become out of line again. The repairman stated that this is a design defect in the Whirlpool refrigerator and he has replaced the risers in many of the refrigerators repeatedly. As if the refrigerator isnt enough, we own a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer. Within 3 1/2 yrs the motherboard went bad in the washer and we had to replace it. The part and labor was almost $400. Whirlpool considered us a valued customer and offered us a comparable washer for $500 and they would take ours away for $20 extra. Only problem is that our original washer was $1,000 and the comparable was not as large as the one we had and did not have the stainless ours had.All I can say is if were valued customers I would wonder how they treat their less valued customers. All of this is to say that I will no longer purchase any Whirlpool products. Not only are the products below par but the customer service is non existent. I Purchased 9 year warranty, Whirlpool water heater and installed it. Started having problems in the first month. It started giving a water temp too high error code, yet water was barely warm. Called Whirlpool. They had me do a bunch of diagnostic checks. Determined it was a bad control module. Sent me a new one. I installed it. Within a week or two, same problem. Called Whirlpool. This time they sent a Tech out. Everything on water heater tested normal, nothing wrong with any part. The tech finally, found a TSB that indicated that you couldnt have any re-circulating valves or systems connected to the water heater. We had one to keep hot water at the taps. So I removed the re-circulating kit and water heater worked for a few months. Then same problems, it keeps going into error. Error code indicates water temp too high, but water is barely warm to cold. Call whirlpool several times, they send out another control module and heating elements and I replace them. All work temporarily. Finally replace control module again, and it works for several months. Then back to error codes. Not always the same code. Sometimes it is water temp too high, other times it is check one of the heating elements. We have lived with it like that for about 3 years. We get hot water by resetting the water heater several times a day. Well, about 3 months ago it started tripping the circuit breaker in the electrical panel. I called Whirlpool and explained what has been going on since I bought their piece of junk. They will not do anything unless I call and pay for a service tech to come diagnose and repair the problem. They will provide the parts for the repair. I am not a certified appliance repairman, but I do handy man repair work for a living and do appliance repairs quite regularly. I am capable of doing every test that the repairman will do, but Whirlpool insists that I pay to get their defective product repaired. Then if I have problems again in a couple of months, I will have to pay a service tech again. I have friend that had this same water heater. I replaced the control module on his once. I was telling him about my woes and he told me he got fed up with all the problems and ate the cost and got a new water heater, not a Whirlpool. I am going to call Whirlpool one more time and then I am sure I am going to do what my friend did and put the money I would spend on a service tech into a new water heater. It will not be a Whirlfool.

Sometimes the left door will open on its own. If you stand to the side and look across the front, the left door sets out about 1/2. My wife and I have contacted whirlpool many times and they will not do anything. I am ready to get another ref and get what I can for this piece of JUNK. We built a new home and purchased all whirlpool appliances and do not like any of them. Will never buy whirlpool again. Very dissatisfied with all – RANGE, DISHWASHER AND THE VENT HOOD. PS, the vent hood sounds like it is crushing ice when you cut it on. Very, very DISSATISFIED with all of them.

I purchased a Gold Star Whirlpool Refrigerator from Sears which was installed on July 1, 2010. The freezer was icing up along seams, so sealant was used. However, now I noticed after 14 months that the interior refrigerators lining is fracturing throughout the sides and bottom of the refrigerator. Not at seams but all over fractures, spanning 10 to 3 to 2 on the bottom and side of the interior lining of the refrigerator.Sears answer is more sealant, and Whirlpool does not take any responsibility in designing a defective liner since it is pass the one year time frame. This causes your refrigerator to be on more often, because of the cracks. Unfortunately, the consumer loses out. Both representatives were nasty and when I asked for a supervisor from Whirlpool, an incident report was written, however I will not ever be able to get a copy of it. It will be considered an internal document. It is a great setup between Whirlpool and Sears having defective appliances made to last a year, and Sears to win with warranty agreements for the life of your appliance of $250, for one year coverage. When you buy the warranty and have a lemon, Sears doesnt replace it, My suggestion to consumers is to buy a tube of sealant.

I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Whirlpool refrigerator
I have had an extremely frustrating experience with Whirlpool refrigerator WRT311. It broke after 6 months. So far it has been diagnosed twice with a faulty compressor and leaking coolant. Whirlpool will (seemingly) never replace an appliance--even if it makes no sense to keep trying to fix it. This is a $600 refrigerator! I cant imagine how much they have spent in repair costs. They simply send a service tech time after time, jerking the consumer around with no regard for what we have to go through to arrange 6 tech visits, some of them multiple hours long. Yes, we have had six tech visits, for a total of 10+ hours, and six weeks living with a broken refrigerator. As well as 30+ phone calls, hours on hold, etc.The refrigerator is loudly throbbing away after being refilled with coolant twice, and is still leaking coolant. Are they hoping the customer just gives up and buys a new appliance on their own? I wonder about the many positive reviews of their appliances: Are they fake? Are they churned out by Whirlpool? I have no confidence in this company. They are inept, if not crooked, and I would advise buyers to beware of poor quality and extremely poor warranty and consumer service.

Purchased a black Whirlpool refrigerator, Gold Series, Model GB2FHDX WB 22 cu ft. with bottom freezer from hhgregg. Within one month I had water on my floor, ice buildup on bottom freezer floor. I had previously reviewed fridge and noise was a concern but I thought I could live with that. I contacted hhgregg. They would do NOTHING, told me to contact Whirlpool. The 1st repairman said it was the ice-maker. I DO NOT have an ice maker. He fixed a duckbill. 2nd call 6 months later, same problem with water, serviceman replaced duckbill. Next year, 2011 same problem with water on floor and ice buildup on freezer bottom floor. After numerous repairmen I contacted Corporate Office of Whirlpool. They sent another repairman at their expense. We are now 6 years later and I am having the same problem. Dont buy a Whirlpool Gold & dont buy from hhgregg.

This refrigerator has been discontinue at the time of my purchase because whirlpool was aware of all the issues from what the repair people have told me. Shame on me for not researching this refrigerator. Customer service was no help. All they kept saying is that they will keep repairing it under the warranty. DONT buy a whirlpool. A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes
When you purchase a Cabrio high efficiency washer dont expect clean clothes! But, you can expect holes, torn and, smelly clothes. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to wash. The machine I purchased has a glass top but its dark and you cant see into the machine so that was a waste of money! If you wash clothes in 1/4 depth of water, nothing gets clean. Who even designed this disaster? I had enough common sense to know it was going to be bad but the salesman at Lowes informed me that ALL washers were high-efficiency and getting a tub full of water days are over. I wish we wouldve just paid for repair and kept my old washer. I hate doing laundry with this machine! I use to be able to wash my blankets, pillows, curtains, throw rugs, even car mats with no problems. Not anymore! This machine couldnt handle it. You ought to see my sheets and shirts when theyre done. They come out twisted up so tight I have to untangle them before they go to dryer. What a horrible nightmare of a machine! If we were not out so much money Id send this machine to the junkyard and get a real washer with realistic amounts of water! How are you saving anything when clothes require 2 times to get somewhat clean??? If youre reading this and considering a high-efficiency washing machine, DONT DO IT!! You will regret it. Im counting the days when I can junk mine!

This Whirlpool Water heater was purchased through Lowes on March 29, 2011.
This Whirlpool Water heater was purchased through Lowes on March 29, 2011. This past weekend, water started leaking out of the thermostat/natural gas control located on the side of the tank. I called a plumber to take a look. He stated that a new thermostat/natural gas control was needed. Although the tank has a 12 year warranty, this item does not. Whirlpool did agree to replace the part but would charge me $30 to overnight the item which still would have taken 4 days because of a weekend. To install the item would have cost me almost $500.00.To purchase a new Rheem Water heater was $999. I chose the second choice as the first choice would have still left me with a subpar water heater obviously already out of warranty. The reason for my review is that I saw the number of complaints on the failure of this part. When I purchased this water heater, it was the better model due to the 12 year tank warranty. What use is the tank warranty when the other items dont last? There should be some type of reimbursement but Im not holding my breath. Please buy a contractor grade water heater and not the cheaper models.

I purchased a side by side Whirlpool refrigerator in December 2009. In one year’s time, all of the plastic shelving has completely broken. The repair man said that he felt like the plastic was substandard and to call Whirlpool but they said that we must have abused the shelving.I and my husband are senior citizens and the only ones using this refrigerator. How can all the plastic components break within one year? I had my last refrigerator for over 10 years and I gave it to my son. It is still running and all the plastic shelving is still intact.I feel Whirlpool should fix this problem but they do not care about their customers. Once they have your money, you are forgotten. At 2 years, the defroster went out and needed to be replaced. I thought at the time it was just one of those flukes, since Whirlpool makes such good products. But, here I am again with the defroster out at just over 5 years old. I contacted customer support and was told that they would not stand behind their product. Twice in 5 years is ridiculous! 5 years and 11 months ago I bought a 50 gallon gas, Whirlpool hot water heater with a 6-year warranty from Lowes. The 2007 water heaters were on sale, so I paid $329 for it. Within 6 months, I replaced the gas valve, and a few months after that, the thermo-couple went out and I replace that. Each time I called Whirlpool and got return authorization numbers for the parts, I still ended up paying for the parts plus labor. A year after that, the igniter went out and I had that replaced. Last year (the day before Thanksgiving), the thermo-couple went out again and I had to have that replaced - and it cost me for the part plus the labor - even though I had a return authorization number. I also replaced the water line connections/hoses to the water heater at that time. The customer service rep for Whirlpool told me at that time if I had another problem with the water heater, they would replace it for free - and the warranty was good until Dec 31, 2013 (this year). NOTE: Every plumber that has come out to fix the water heater and replace the parts stated that they see a myriad of problems with Whirlpool water heaters. They said the parts like the thermo-couples, igniters, gas valves, etc are poorly built and they replace them all the time. On Christmas Eve 2013 (two days ago), the water heater started leaking from the top by the valves - and so much pressure had built up in the heater the new water hose connections burst, spewing water all over the heater closet. I called Whirlpool the day after Christmas (today). At first, they told me they would not replace the heater as it was not in warranty and then I told them what I was told by the service rep last year. She finally agreed that my heater is indeed under warranty and gave me a replacement authorization number but she told me my warranty did not cover labor. I called Lowes. At first, they told me I would have to remove the old hot water heater myself and bring it back to the store in order to get my replacement. I am a 59 year old woman and I take care of my brother, a disable veteran. Although I am in good shape and healthy, I dont have anyone to help me get the gas and water disconnected and help me lift it into my Suburban. The man at Lowes agreed to bring out the the replacement heater and pick up the old one at no charge, but I will still have to pay $299 plus the cost of new hoses to have it installed. By the time the replacement one is installed, I will have paid a little over $1200 for a $329 water heater. I could have installed a tankless one for that, but I cannot see spending that kind of money right after Christmas. If I have one issue with this replacement, I will install a tankless water heater - and it will not be made by Whirlpool or any of its affiliates. My recommendation would be to steer clear of Whirlpool and their products.

Fixed that myself, but it still wont drain right. The spin cycle is weak at best - towels require a second, sometimes third, spin cycle. The dryer does not heat up like it should on the standard setting. The end of cycle buzzer/beeper on both units is truly pathetic... you better be within 6 feet of the machine when the buzzer goes off or youll never hear it. Having worked for a blue big box home improvement center for 7 years installing appliances, I know all too well the rabbit hole Whirlpool is trying to push me down. All I want is to return the Maytag and go back to a Whirlpool, but the not so pleasant lady on the phone with Whirlpool said all they can do is send out a technician, no returns on appliances. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW6200 & this yr purchased a newer dryer w/ steam capability. I wish I would have waited a couple months for a new washer that yr and purchased the one with no agitator inside! But my washer died that day & I needed one & NO ONE informed us of the changes or problems of this agitator at the time of purchase. I have had this service several times my first year and the agitator replaced I believe twice. But it still destroys clothing. I called 1 month out of warranty and even though they had been out several times the first year for the same issue, they would not help me! Yep, even after the 1st year they said to get things done I had to purchase an extended warranty even though this was a mfr issue no doubt! So, 3-4 years later I still am dealing with the very same issue over and over with NO RESOLUTION in site and $900 in the hole for this washer and I am losing money with clothing damage weekly!Even today I had two pair of jeans, $98 ea rec these terrible uniformed marks all across the legs making them unwearable! At least for where they were intended to wear them at. They are now yard jeans...yep $98 expensive yard jeans now!!! These were my good jeans which I cant afford to buy more nor replace them so I have to do without. We cant wash anything with strings such as hoodies, shirts or baby clothing with spaghetti straps or little dangle things; we have to use the laundry mat and come home & dry w/ my Cabrio steam dryer which I love. Most everything I have to use zipper net bags but even then things still can get destroyed, especially if a hole gets torn in the bag from the wings of the agitator as you will see in the below photograph. I currently have & own an expensive washer I purchased from HHGregg by Whirlpool replacing a previous whirlpool I owned for 22 years! Yep, Im wishing I had it back & put the $200 some needed to repair it! Please Whirlpool will you please do something & make this right once and for all. I dont have $900 for another washer. I just want to be able to use my washer without it destroying everything I own. I have darn photos of what this is doing and you wouldnt believe it. It took us an hour, yes an hour to untangle a top that became entangled in the flaps on the agitator. This is the worst design I have ever seen and needs to be recalled once and for all and either fixed or replaced with new machines of equal model with the agitation issues resolved or removed & with no issues or further costs to your customers! Why would you honestly believe that an agitator with wings coming off the bottom that are not attached to the bottom would serve some type of positive purpose in cleaning clothing? All it is doing is tearing them to shreds, tangling them up, doing things to hoodies which make them unrecognizable after ripping the cords so hard out of the hoodies that Ive seen them shred the material across the collar area and opening of the cording completely ruining hoodies ranging from $35-$75 a piece even after placing them in mesh bags! Why did we keep placing hoodies in the machine? Well with 4 children at times they just dont listen or get all the info as to what is going on with the machine as 3 were college kids coming home periodically & yes, to do their laundry. Look, lets talk straight. You as a company from what I have learned from appliance salesmen locally and regionally, you knew this was wrong and knew this was your last ditch effort of an agitator before you knowingly knew you were going to an agitator-less unit on your washing machines & already had one ready to go out on the floors. I know that you Whirlpool CEOs knew this unit was a bad call but chose to ignore it. You had to know it because there was no way this could have passed quality control. It had to have failed sometime in its trials showing you the issues of the wings. Unless you never did any quality control on this unit and just rushed it through? Please to the CEOs of Whirlpool, I am asking you to make this right if not for good standing of your company do it at least for families like myself who cant afford to buy another machine and are now stuck with NEW machines yet going to Laundry mats. This was to be my last washing machine I would buy hopefully. I am 54 and was not planning on buying another. How do you think this makes your company look???? Im just so tired of dealing w/ Whirlpool to only hear I have to purchase a $400 extended warranty with no guarantee that they will fix the issue. If an attorney wants to step in & believes they can help us and maybe others then Yes please help us because this is absolutely ridiculous and is a product that needs to be recalled. We are out so much money now and like I said we are to the point we cant purchase another washer. We had to purchase all new appliances as they all began going bad around the same time.

We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.

I have had a (refurbished) Whirlpool dryer since 1997 with one (1) service call. However, this wash machine, purchased new, has been a money pit and a piece of trash with Whirlpool only giving lip service when calling. Also, going to the Laundromat, I have been amazed at how many individuals I speak with are there doing wash because their Whirlpool washer, mostly even newer models than mine, do not work! And they have the same story. There’s no service when you call. Shameful Whirlpool! Buy your parts from us. Maybe your credibility could be restored. I purchased all new, upper end Whirlpool appliances for our newly built home just 6 months ago, to include a side by side refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, an over the stove microwave, a smooth cooktop oven/range, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a clothes dryer. We plugged in the new refrigerator, and after 24 hours of letting it sit and get cold, we bought $300.+ of groceries and filled our new refrigerator. We pulled the milk out hours later and it was warm, checked other food items and found them to be warm, too. I placed a thermometer in the refrigerator and it read 55 degrees. In disbelief, I placed a second thermometer in the refrigerator and it, too, read 55 degrees. Being brand new, only hours old, and clearly not working, I called for a replacement refrigerator. Our builder said we needed to call Whirlpool for a replacement. Whirlpool refused to send us a new refrigerator. Needless to say, we had to throw out all of our food for being dangerously off temperature, and we were less than happy about wasting $300.+ on food we could not safely eat, but glad we didnt have food poisoning. Not even the freezer could maintain a temperature below 55 degrees. While waiting on a repairman, we noticed that we were not hearing the refrigerators motor come on more than once every several hours. They sent a repairman out three days later, and he found nothing wrong other than a poorly fitting door, he said. He replaced the door hinge and told us our refrigerator would be cold in 3 - 5 hours. Well, it never did get below 55 degrees, set on the coldest setting. Whirlpool was called again and they couldnt seem to get another repairman out to fix my brand new refrigerator that could not perform its most basic function, which is to maintain food at proper temperature. Again, Whirlpool refused to send me a replacement refrigerator for this clearly defective refrigerator we were stuck with. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks before another repairman could come out, and then he would have to order parts after he diagnosed the refrigerator problem, taking another two weeks. We needed a refrigerator, like most people do, so we were forced to take this brand new refrigerator and stick it in the garage, not being able to sell a brand new refrigerator that wont get cold. Angry at Whirlpool for taking our money and leaving us with a refrigerator that never worked, we bought a Samsung refrigerator that we are very happy with - it works! After 2 months, our Whirlpool above the stove microwave has the motor turn on when we close the door, and it takes several opening and closing sequences to get it to shut off. We will be replacing this new microwave when we can afford to.Our ceramic/smooth top stove/oven, takes a very long time (at least 20 minutes) to preheat and the temperature in the oven is not accurate to the set temperature, according to my oven thermometer. The cooktop surface is inferior; it gets permanent water spots and it scratches very easily even though we use the correct pans and are very careful with it, and does not come clean easily. The surface feels rough, not slick like the GE Profile ceramic/smooth cooktop range that I had for 14 trouble-free years. I am using the same exact pans that I used with our GE, and we know how to be gentle with a smooth cooktop surface. After 14 years of owning the GE stove, the GE felt slick and smooth, cleaned easily, and did not have one single scratch on it. It looked as good as new when we moved, after 14 years of use. I will be replacing this inferior Whirlpool smooth cooktop range as soon as I can afford to, as well. Last month, right before Thanksgiving, our new Whirlpool dishwasher started making a really loud motor sound and quit working that day. It would fill water, drain the water and shut off. I once again called Whirlpool, and they were maddenly unhelpful. This time, they told me they would have a repairman call me in 5 working days to schedule an appointment to come and see my non working dishwasher. After 7 days, I called Whirlpool AGAIN, to ask why someone did not call me for an appointment. I was expecting a house full of people for Thanksgiving and I had no working dishwasher. I spent a lot of money buying these crappy Whirlpool appliances and am very frustrated. This time, Whirlpool told me that they could not find a service person in my area to service the unit. As if I live out in the middle of know-where?! I live 20 minutes from Austin, the state capitol of Texas! A 20 minute drive from the capitol building to my door! Whirlpool told me I could take my 5 month old, broken dishwasher to a repair shop and that the repair shop would need to call Whirlpool before they did any work, and that Whirlpool would only authorize a maximum of $150 to repair my dishwasher. They actually had the nerve to tell me that I would have to pay for the repair, and they would mail me a gift card in 6 - 8 weeks to reimburse me up to $150 on my new, broken dishwasher that is under warranty. I was furious!! Some warranty! The broken dishwasher is now sitting next to the broken refrigerator in my garage. I needed a dishwasher before Thanksgiving dinner, so I went and bought a Samsung.I realize that all makers can have a lemon, but all of my Whirlpool kitchen appliances are junk!! I will never own another Whirlpool product for as long as I live, and I will tell anyone who will listen about our abominable experience with Whirlpools customer service and the expensive, crappy appliances we unfortunately wasted a lot of our money on. Do yourself a huge favor, buy anything but Whirlpool! Thankfully, everything else about our new home has been great. Our new Whirlpool appliances will remain a very sore subject for year to come, I suspect.

We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer WTW6400SW2 and 2 Cabrio Dryers WGD6200SW1 (one for our cabin) in 2007. Since day one the washer tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and went out of balance several times each load. We purchased from Best Buy who did their best to service the dryer (black, rusted vents replaced inside dryer). But as for the washing machine, we were told there was nothing they could do. The repairmen stated Whirlpool was aware of this issue and doing nothing. When I called Whirlpool, they said no repairs were logged for the washer. No, of course not. The repairmen said there was nothing they could do! This went on and on until our machines went out of warranty. Now Whirlpool happily tells us with glee in their voice that its out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. They know there is nothing they can do. The design is faulty! The line needs to be pulled out of manufacturing! Whirlpool did say they would log a customer complaint on the design. Right. Im sure they dont have any of those yet. Whirlpool is defrauding the consumer with products they know are defective. Please people, do not purchase any Whirlpool products. Put them out of business where they belong.

We are doing a kitchen remodel and I found the best price here. I was a little skeptical to order a range online, but I did go look at the exact range in the store and decided I would give it a try. I received email updates about the product and during delivery, I received 2 calls.... one to tell me approximately what time the range would be delivered and another when the driver was about 20 minutes away. All around good service.

As a busy mom with 11 children, I needed a refrigerator that could stand up
As a busy mom with 11 children, I needed a refrigerator that could stand up to the demands of my family. This refrigerator is great and meets my needs, but could use a few improvements. The side refrigerator shelves are not on very sturdy. When my daughter removed a jar of mustard, the shelf came off the door, fell onto the floor and broke. This could be solved by improving the gripping strength (increase depth) of the refrigerator door shelf holders. Additionally, the sliding freezer shelf is always crooked and has to be manipulated into place. This is most problematic when the freezer shelf is full. The freezer is not smudge-proof, but clean up is easy with a damp towel.

I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home
I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home Depot. The first thing that happened was that it started to leak. I called Whirlpool and someone came out to look at it. It took about a week for them to come. They said it was installed incorrectly and they do not handle installation issues. They left. I took the dishwasher out and reinstalled according to the guide. It still leaked. The dishwasher had to be perfectly level before the leaking stopped. The next issue was that the dishes were not getting clean my dishes. The top rack was the worse. I called Whirlpool again. They came out, took the dishwasher apart and said the part called the diffuser had become dislocated. He placed it back into its proper position and left. This was April of 2015. The dishwasher did an ok job. Some dishes still came out with food on it. By the end of 2015, close to the warranty expiring, the top rack was no longer being washed. I took the dishwasher apart from the inside and found the diffuser was not in the right position again. So every time I want to run the dishwasher I need to take the spray arms out and the racks until I have access to the bottom of the dishwasher to reset the diffuser. Now the warranty was expired, Whirlpool wanted about $150 just to come look at the dishwasher. Sears wanted $59. So I called Sears. Their tech said the dishwasher has a broken motor. For Sears to fix it would be around $400. I called Whirlpool. I felt that the motor was already broken within the warranty period and that the problem finally got diagnosed now. Whirlpool felt this wasnt the case. Their price to fix was also close to $400. Now I need to buy a new dishwasher and throw away a one year old dishwasher. Only this time I will buy the extended warranty. Overall, poor product, poor customer service, and poor warranty coverage.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1
Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

Love the size. We got the 28 cu ft with the drawer. I love the drawer for cold drinks and lunch meat, cheese, etc. Unlike previous refrigerators I never seem to run out of room. The bottom freezer has 2 drawers and is easy to organize.

I replaced a 15 -year-old propane water heater with an electric on 02/01/14
I replaced a 15 -year-old propane water heater with an electric on 02/01/14, due to the high propane prices, $6 a gallon, and because I felt the heater should be replaced. After installing the electric water heater I filled with water purged all the air out, powered it up, went thru diagnostics and heated water to 120. After an hour I turned on the hot water at the kitchen faucet, hot water was there but not for long, water got cold,.I troubleshot the problem back to the anti-scald valve installed 15 years ago when I had a professional install the first tank. By placing my hand on the hot water line coming out of the tank, I found the water was indeed hot before the anti-scald valve, after the valve the water was cold indicating to me the valve was not functioning properly. I went to Lowes bought the parts to bypass and removed the valve, went home and in another hour had the problem solved! I wondered why I had to turn the temp upon the old heater to get hot water! I am very happy with my electric water heater, not only did Lowes have the last one in stock, it was on sale $100 off regular price, it is a digital controller type with water temperature setting on the front. I checked the temp at the water faucet in the kitchen. I had it set to 120, the water temp out was 119.8 on my digital thermometer. Water was too hot so I lowered it to 110, perfect temp for a hot shower. Even if the thing uses more electric than it should I still save because the fact of propane is so high I couldnt see spending $600 for 28 days of propane, versus $400 on a new electric water heater. I would rather pay a higher electric bill than feel I am getting ripped off with the propane dealers! Also there is absolutely no residual heat loss. This is well insulated even comes with pipe insulation!
