We purchased a stainless steel refrigerator thinking Whirlpool stood behind
We purchased a stainless steel refrigerator thinking Whirlpool stood behind their product. Within days, the shelving on the door and meat bins and vegetable bins literally started chipping away and cracking. I have over a thousand dollars product held together by glue and duct tape so I can use my refrigerator. Neither Lowes or Whirlpool wanted to back their product. But it seemed they wanted to make a sale only on replacement parts... Now today I have learned my ice maker drum has chipped away... Thankful no one swallowed the plastic. We will never buy Whirlpool or recommend to our friends again.

Bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW7300DW) and dryer (WED7300DW1) about 8 months ago. The washer always leaves white debris on the dark clothes - looks like detergent. Except I use blue liquid detergent. It seems like the inside, bottom of the drum is deteriorating and sticking to the clothes, since there is nothing that is white in the washer. I have run it through the clean cycle several times with the recommended washer cleaning product (the brand that came as a sample with the washer). That did not help. Also, we have a dog, our old washer used to rinse out a lot of dog hair from the bottom of our socks, etc. My filter for my drain hose would always have dog hair in it. With this washer, there is no dog hair being rinsed out at all. Lint and dog hair is all through the clothes after the cycle is over. Makes me wonder where the dirt is going, then. The clothes are so twisted after washing. Anything with long sleeves get tied up around other clothes. This seems very rough to wash clothes this way. Also, if you dont use the deep water setting, its likely not to get parts of the clothes even wet. I had a gray hooded sweatshirt go through a whole wash cycle and there were spots all over it that never even got wet at all. The dryer power button is very temperamental. Sometimes I have to hit it 6 - 7 times, at different angles, until I hit it just right to get it to turn on. Other times it just turns right on. There are just 2 of us so I only do 10 - 12 loads of clothes a month. After reading all the awful reviews, I fear that these problems, which are becoming evident now, will only get worse. Yet I only have 4 more months until the warranty runs out.

We purchased a new Whirlpool washer in March 2010. Yesterday, 2/19/12, the washer stopped working. We called a repairman who checked the machine and told us the motor needs to be replaced. We called Whirlpool today, 2/20/12, and were told by their customer service department that since we did not have an extended warranty. We told them that we believe the motor should last more than 2 years. Their response was that if the motor lasted more than a year that was all they cared about. The only thing they would do is replace the motor if we gave them $299.00. I think it is very clear that Whirlpool knows it makes inferior products as they fail to stand behind what they make. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and would advise anyone who is looking for a washer to buy something other than Whirlpool.

I bought all my kitchen appliances in Home Depot 4 months ago (April 2014). The wall oven, Whirlpool, never worked. Flamingo Appliances is the name of the company that does services for Whirlpool in my city. They keep changing parts and today is the 3rd visit that the technician will be in my house trying to solve the problem. Customer service in Michigan is DISGUSTING! I probably have to buy another oven because they say they wont replace it if they think its fixable. 3 MONTHS! I will never buy Whirlpool again. I hate them.

May 4 I ordered a washer and it was to be delivered on the 21st and on the 20th a salesperson calls me to say my ordered washer is out of stock and she gives me a substitution washer that wont ship to me until june 20th a month away even though I already had been waiting a month, I was very upset and said, I wont accept it but let me think about it, I thought there must not be anything sooner (BIG MISTAKE). So I called back and accepted but after getting off the phone looked online and found a washer that would be delivered on May 28th and it was just delivered no problem but now no one at WHIRLPOOL can find the subbed order to cancel and give me my refund from the out of stock washer... So I have paid for 2 washers and every time I try to get help I have an hour wait to get a person. I am a 65 yr old woman who has been put thru so much stress and it is not good for my health. All I want to do is cry.

I am so disappointed with this washer. I totally dread doing laundry. The following are the complaints: Every load comes out totally twisted and wrinkled!! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). I should have taken the time to write a review much sooner, but decided today was the day after doing laundry. DO NOT BUY THIS WASHER.

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, So why is the seam under the machine rusted? No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesnt know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, its known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesnt say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasnt rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. This is my first Whirlpool washer and I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I paid $600.00 for this washer and it should not be rusting.

About two months ago the washer starting stopping and the UL light continued to come on during every spin cycle. So I would adjust the clothes and start it again. So I decided that I should call a certified serviceman to come out and access the problem. Today a certified serviceman came out to access the problem. After about twenty minutes I was told the tub needed to be replaced and the cost and labor would be $600 or more. I do realize that the washer is about 8 years old but to completely need a repair like a new tub. I am very upset and have no idea what to do.

Our 2 yr old Whirlpool Gold refrigerator (French doors, bottom freezer) stopping freezing/cooling. When we got a repairman to come take a look at it, he said the compressor is not working. The warranty on the fridge is only 1 year. However, the compressor is the main component of a refrigerator, and the repairman said 5-6 years is the minimum it should last before breaking. I called Whirlpool and asked them to pay for the repairs of what is quite obviously a defective part. They refused. Needless to say, I will never, ever buy another Whirlpool product again.

I purchased a new Whirlpool range and had it fitted for propane. I used the stove daily and within two weeks, the temperature started fluctuated constantly. Several things I tried to cook ended up burned. I called Whirlpool to ask them for a possible solution. They wanted to send a repair person. I live on an island and knew it would take forever to get someone here. My appliance person said it could be only two things - the temperature probe or the computer board. I purchased both things and had them shipped to my address at my expense. It cost $257.00 to get the items. My appliance man on the island installed the two new items. I was hoping that would fix the problem. I am sad to say it did not! The oven still fluctuates wildly. I set the temp for 350 degrees and it shoots up to 450 degrees. I turn the temp down to 325 and it settles in at 350 for a period of time. Then, without any warning, it will shoot back up to 500 degrees. I have to open the door and let the temp back down to 350. This is how I have to bake and cook with this disaster. Wish I never purchased a Whirlpool appliance!

Whirlpool refrigerators with bottom freezers have a major defect in a tiny drainage hole hidden inside the back panel. The hole easily gets blocked with bits of debris during manufacturing or with a few bread crumbs, then it freezes shut. Then water ends up all over your floor. You cannot fix it yourself as you have to take apart the whole freezer. The repair bill is huge. This will happen often. Check on the internet and YouTube to verify & you will see that this happens to everyone with a Whirlpool. Also your floor will be ruined if you dont mop it up every few days until the repairman arrives! Stay away from Whirlpool!!

I had a Whirlpool dishwasher for year and it worked great, but the baskets were rusting. I decided Feb 2014 to purchase another Whirlpool dishwasher. It did not clear as well as my old dishwasher. The seller of the dishwasher stated it was our water or detergent. The water and detergent were the same. The only difference was the dishwasher. Day prior to changing the dishwasher, the dishes were clear and the day I changed the dishwasher, the dishes were not clean. November 2016, the main board has gone out. The part costs $148, plus the service call. I called Whirlpool. They stated they would sell me the part or would discount a new dishwasher. I think they should discount the part!!! Whirlpool makes most brands of dishwashers, so you cant change companies. Their quality is all you can get.

Have had mine for 21 years. Okay, the soap dispenser door would not stay shut after about 19 years. No real problem, just placed the dishwasher tablet on the bottom of a mug on top shelf. Now the timer sticks and has to be rotated manually. I think after 21 years, it is time to replace it with another Whirlpool. This one owes me nothing for 21 years service.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator model #wrt1litzyv along with the extended warranty from Lowes. The compressor stopped working just before the warranty was to expire and had to be replaced. The cost of repairs almost equaled the price of the refrigerator and took nearly 2 months for the reimbursement check to arrive. I had to call several times. They told me they hadnt received the paperwork even though I sent it registered mail and it was signed for and I had to resend it. Now, less than 4 months later, the refrigerator is again not working properly. Freezer is not freezing properly. Takes 2 days to freeze ice. This is the absolutely worst refrigerator Ive ever had. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years. This one is only 3 years old and of course, the warranty is now expired. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. And I will never buy a major appliance from Lowes either since they play games with the warranties. And after the refrigerator was repaired, Whirlpool tried to sell me another extended warranty. They wanted $308.60 for a 3-year warranty. Ridiculous that they dont stand behind their products. And try to sell more warranties instead of just manufacturing a good product.

I purchased a Gold Star Whirlpool Refrigerator from Sears which was installed on July 1, 2010. The freezer was icing up along seams, so sealant was used. However, now I noticed after 14 months that the interior refrigerators lining is fracturing throughout the sides and bottom of the refrigerator. Not at seams but all over fractures, spanning 10 to 3 to 2 on the bottom and side of the interior lining of the refrigerator.Sears answer is more sealant, and Whirlpool does not take any responsibility in designing a defective liner since it is pass the one year time frame. This causes your refrigerator to be on more often, because of the cracks. Unfortunately, the consumer loses out. Both representatives were nasty and when I asked for a supervisor from Whirlpool, an incident report was written, however I will not ever be able to get a copy of it. It will be considered an internal document. It is a great setup between Whirlpool and Sears having defective appliances made to last a year, and Sears to win with warranty agreements for the life of your appliance of $250, for one year coverage. When you buy the warranty and have a lemon, Sears doesnt replace it, My suggestion to consumers is to buy a tube of sealant.

My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator
My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool French Door Bottom Mount Refrigerator in April 2013. Thank God we purchased the extended warranty. In June 2014 the ice maker quit working and delivering water. We have had the service contractor that WHIRLPOOL has qualified for all repairs. They have set up FIVE appointments to resolve the issue, all of which I had to leave work to meet because they do not provide any scheduled service outside the hours of 8am to 4pm. The first time they came the service man told me that WHIRLPOOL RECOGNIZES THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW BECAUSE THESE ARE NOTORIOUS FOR FREEZING UP AND NOT WORKING. I asked the repair man if there has been a recall because of this, he said no because WHIRLPOOL WILL JUST REPAIR THE ONES PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT! I called Whirlpool headquarters today. The advisor said he will register my complaint. I asked, Is that it? What does that mean? He said, I cant tell you what happens after I register the complaint. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT. I hope this may help someone NOT make the same mistake. If you need to talk to someone in upper level management to discuss your issue, forget it...they want the position but no accountability.

My $1800 French door refrigerator is only 20 months old and the ice maker has quit working. They sent out a repair person 5 times and replaced parts three of those times. Now they are saying it is unrepairable and are refunding my contract fee of $345 and leaving me with a broken ice maker. When the problem started it was making ice just not dumping it. Now it doesnt even get water. Throughout this all, two months, I have had to constantly call them to find out our next move. They say someone will call me in 2-3 days but they never do. One of The last people I talked to said, Well you can still keep food in it. I dont feel that is reasonable considering I bought a refrigerator with the ice maker in it. I finally called Whirlpool corporate instead of the service contract people to see if anything could be done and was told someone would call me back in 2-3 business days. Well its been a week and big surprise - have not heard from anyone. It is looking like we will have to purchase yet another refrigerator in less than two years. The service people I talked to were rude and really didnt seem to want to help at all. I believed when I purchased this Whirlpool product that they were a reputable company. Sorry to say that is not the case at all. I dont know if the refrigerator is really unrepairable or if they just gave up trying to find the issue. Seems hard to believe a basically new appliance cant be repaired.

Whirlpool unwilling to replace the unit while the third party repair company, “well you should have bought it from us, we stand behind what we sell.” They have no idea when or if the parts will ever come in due to COVID-19. Whirlpool said it was under warranty but refused to bring a new one. They ordered a new glass turntable and painted the spot that had the hole burned in it. The microwave is now discontinued and when I did find a door online it costs as much as the microwave! Whirlpool doesnt distribute the dependable products that were, back in the day, associated with the name WHIRLPOOL. Shame on the greedy people who have taken over and cut back on quality material and labor to put an extra penny in their pocket!

Glad to know we are not alone in our disappointment with our Whirlpool French door refrigerator, but I am wondering what and when Whirlpool is going to do something about this. What a blow to their reputation. Goes to show things are not made as they used to be. We purchased our Whirlpool Gold French door (bottom freezer) in August of 2010. Here we are October 2012 and this is the third time it has stopped working. We have lost food, weekends waiting for repair people and cleaning up messes, and money. Same problem as others are reporting - the electronic board and controls. I just spent my Friday evening on the phone with Whirlpool, first explaining the problem to no result then waiting for a manager to call me back. Who (guess what?) never called. I finally called them and got the same script as the rest of you. It is outside the manufacturer warranty. Really, that is what you are giving me? Plus they will only look at it if we have a Whirlpool repair person come see it. When can they come? In 4 days! Ha, not likely. I am not giving this company another cent. We spent almost $2,000 on this fridge, all we are getting is 2, 3, 5 years? What a shame. We are fortunate enough to have had some space in our garage beer fridge for what I can save of the food. Our 7 years old, $300 Moffat fridge has been working like a charm. We will never again fall for the looks of a Whirlpool, let alone purchase another one of their appliances.

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. I guess Im done with Whirlpool, running out of appliance brands to blacklist here...

I purchased both the Cabrio washer and dryer because my dryer stopped working, it was old, and I knew that soon the washer would too, and wanted to modernize my set -- it was my moms old set. I was thrilled to get it delivered and should have had the delivery man from Lowes take it right back, when he told me they had just come from picking up one from another lady who was thoroughly dissatisfied with hers.Well, it didnt take too many washings for me to understand why that lady was upset! I really wish I had done the same thing! EVERY load of dark clothes have to be wiped off to get off the disgusting wet lint thats all over the clothes! Thats been going on since DAY 1! In every load, the clothes do not get completely wet and I thought I had combated that issue by having a pitcher of water always available to pour onto the load, so the sensor will add more water... That doesnt work, I now see!!! I just noticed last night lots of wet lint was on my fabric shower curtain liner, and I was thoroughly upset! I just never feel as though anything I wash gets clean. I truly wish I had come across this site BEFORE I purchased my set, and I would never have done so. Is there ANYTHING that can be done for people who have purchased these horrible appliances?

Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. What a con - the whole thing is.

I purchased a Whirlpool duet, model #wfw9550ww00, two years ago with added warranty. The machine stops mid-cycle. The time remaining flashes but no error code. Pressing start would begin the machine again. Sometimes, we could go several loads with no problems and other times it will stop three or four times in one load. Occasionally, pressing start would not work and the machine would require unplugging and restarting. We have had several service calls in. They have said it was the pump, then it was the motor, then it was the pressure switch, and yet the problem persists. They are due to come out again tomorrow for yet another examination to determine its cause. Its the third time in one month. Its a lemon.

I have a Whirlpool french door unit with ice & water through the freezer door. I recently noticed rust in the ice. When the extended service plans tech came to see it he told me that the ice bucket would have to be ordered. Almost a month later, I called him and was told that rust isnt covered. I understand that surface or cosmetic rust shouldnt be covered, but rust in a place where it can be ingested is different. Anyway, I called Whirlpool directly and a very nice phone rep agreed with me and asked her supervisor. Needless to say, I just sent Whirlpool a letter stating that I would pursue this through legal channels if I dont get satisfaction.

We called the repair company and they said they had fixed the problem. My husband called the Whirpool number and they said they would NOT do anything to help us. I purchased a Whirlpool Gas Range from hhgregg July, 2013 and the oven was non-operational within 4 months. Since then Ive had 4 repairs on this lemon of an oven. I purchased the extended warranty plan through Assurant and, fortunately, have not had to pay a dime for these repairs, but I should not need to keep repairing the same parts continuously. Either the replacement parts are bad or the service technician is terrible and doesnt know what hes doing or Whirlpool makes such poor products that they are not meant to last. There is NO lemon law for appliances and the decision to replace appliances is the decision of the Assurant Warranty Co & they won t replace it and even if they did it would be with a used refurbished gas range. Why would I want someone elses refurbished piece of junk when I already have a repaired piece of junk?!

It started making a lot of noise it seem to be coming from freezer. Called Whirlpool, they said to clean coils. We wanted a repair company to come out. They set an appointment for next Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. Said ok.Was making so much noise, and no longer freezing everything so call said company. Lady was very rude, and said they would not be out on Tuesday but sometime the following week. This would not work for us so called another repair shop, said they would be out. They were here before 6pm. Found out that they have been having this problem, had same type of call already this week. Repair for this problem would be over $1100.00. No thank you! Would just as soon junk this appliance. So very sorry we wasted our money on this.

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator 8 months ago model # WRF560SEXM which is less than a year old and already Im experiencing problems already. I have owned several refrigerators in the past which were older models and less sophisticated, and all of them lasted well over 10 years with no major issues, so to buy a new refrigerator through Whirlpool and have it malfunction in less than a year is unacceptable. Customers deserves better than this especially at these prices. My malfunction occurred when my ice maker stopped working and the internal temperature stopped working altogether, which caused all my food to spoil which had to replaced which was very expensive which infuriated me more and because my service appointment was a week away. I LITERALLY had to order out for food and purchase ice. And if this happens again I will have replace food and order food out again. WHIRLPOOL dont realize the impact this has on its customers. I would definitely not recommend their refrigerators EVER!!!

We have had this Whirlpool Duet WFW9150 washer for 7 years, doing 2-4 loads a week. Overall we are quite satisfied with it. A few complaints: We are on a well, and so get the odd bit of crud in the water. The machine has filters on the inlet lines, but you must pull it out from the wall to get at them. The filters are hard to remove. If something goes wrong--power blip, or sensor something, you have to restart the cycle. There is no way to continue from where you left off. There are features I wish it had: Rinse with warm or hot water, a spin only cycle, And Im in a hurry and it isnt very dirty cycle (Shortest cycle is almost 2 hours). Whirlpool doesnt have a service center for our area. If we need repair we need to take it into town. This is inconvenient.

Three years ago I bought a bottom freezer Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowes. Two days after it was installed, I noticed a pool of water on the kitchen floor. This happened again. I called Lowes and they brought out another refrigerator, same make and model, and took the first one away. A year later the same thing happened. I had it repaired - quite an ordeal for the technician. He had to order a part and found it difficult to actually get into the freezer. Now after a year and a half approximately the same thing is happening. I cant afford to continue the repair bills and dont like the inconvenience (what if this happens when Im away from home?). The pool of water is substantial - its as though the defrost is simply emptying through the front of the freezer onto my floor.

I purchased a new Whirlpool top load washer and dryer in 2012. I heard all kinds of crazy stories about all the new machines, so I tried to stay with the regular top load style. About 6 months ago my machine seems to have lost its mind! It forgets where it is in the cycle and pulls hot water when it should be cold and the washing machine has even overflowed all over my laundry room floor. I tried unplugging it, but thats just a temporary fix, it goes right back to its antics! I had my last washer and dryer for over 12 years. This machine was my dream machine for about two years. Then the noise started during the spin cycle. It gradually got louder and louder, until it got so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. You could not be near the wash room and hear each other talk. Then it began to aggravate me with the UL flashing. I know how to load a washing machine. It was just a defect. Then it started making a grinding sound to add to the roaring spin noise. We were told that it would take over $500.00 to fix, so we just sat back and waited for it to die. Well, the other day it began to leak some water out of the bottom of the machine. Now today we are paying our last respects to a piece of junk that Whirlpool calls a washing machine! It is less than 5 years old. This was a $900.00 washer. There should be a recall. We should ban together and demand a recall! Now I will be forced to go buy a new washer. I can tell you which name brand I will not buy, Whirlpool!

First Id like to start by saying anyone whom owns Whirlpool make sure to purchase every extra Warranty you can get your hands on right away. Two years ago my husband and I purchased the whole Whirlpool Appliance Kitchen Collection. The gas oven range has been my only real issue. Within a few months my oven wouldnt light. Its a good thing I noticed because there are no safety features that turn the gas off if it doesnt fire up and the gas builds up so so fast its scary. Our Warranty covered the broken igniter switch only for it to act up for over a year. We had to try several times before the oven would light until it just didnt again and it was repaired again under Warranty. Aqua Lift Technology is just something they made up to get us all to purchase it. I swear on my life it doesnt even work a tiny bit. Now, the bottom of my $800 oven is chipping away. I have not worked this out with them yet and I will repost to let others know how it works out. Liquid also gets in between glass oven door, cant ever clean it. Good luck.

Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

The third washing machine has again lost its brain and the sensor to operate the machine. I have been waiting for the parts since December 2. Called it is still on back order. Unacceptable! It cost almost $60 dollars every 2 weeks for our washing at the Laundromat. Again unacceptable. All Whirlpool can say is We are sorry. When the machine works my clothes are beautifully cleaned using the new HE soap. Takes large loads and I love that part.I am sorry I bought a Whirlpool. Whirlpool would not work with me except to apologize and say the parts are on back order and I will get a call in 5 days for an update. These machines cost $900 each plus tax. They should work more than 3 months at a time. The first repairman could not explain anything. Said they were too new and he could not figure out what to do. My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer from Sears less than 5 years ago and am junking it! It has all the same problems everyone else has mentioned. I have had it serviced for faulty motherboard, unbalanced tub, broken lock mechanism. It had rusted out on the inside. Clothes are never clean and it constantly becomes unbalanced in spin cycle. We have to stop and rebalance every single load 3 or 4 times--or more if trying to wash a set of sheets or two or more towels. Cant leave the machine unattended for even a few minutes. I might as well be hand washing on a scrub board at the edge of a river! Waste of money and Whirlpool Customer Service wont say anything but should have purchased extended warranty! There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

I had the bearing go bad in the tub after a few years of service. It cost hundreds of dollars. As an engineer, I look at this and it is a design made to fail. The seal design is inferior compared to old washers that had a shaft seal made to be on a spinning shaft. This is a rubber lip seal that is going to wear because it is using washer as a very bad lubricant! When the seal goes bad, and it will, the water runs down to the bearings and destroys them, and you have the replace the whole tub as a $300 part!

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

I purchased a Whirlpool Washer at Lowes on 02/29/16. After 3 weeks it simply stopped after the last rinse, never drained the water or starting the spin circle. One and a half month later after 5 service calls still no working washer. Whirlpool customer service just adds insult to injury. They refuse to replace to washer or to issue a refund. Apparently they dont care if their customers have to use a laundromat indefinitely after buying one of their washers.

I ordered this Whirlpool 29 cu.ft. white french door refrigerator online from Goedeckers on April 26, 2013. Delivered May 15, 2013. Ever since we got it, there was a frost buildup in left back of ref. Also ice would fall out of dispenser all by itself. Also a buildup of ice under ice bin. Water would also drip from dispenser. We thought maybe since it was new these problems would go away. But they just got worse. I called Whirlpool & they sent out tech on 8/12/13. He told me Whirlpool has a problem with these refrigerators & would order parts. Well after 3 times of cancelling repairman due to parts on backorder, I told repair I would call when parts come in. I keep calling Whirlpool & keep hearing parts are on backorder, saying parts will be in in 7 days. I call back in 7 days and hear the same lies. Its a shame that they cant get parts in knowing that there is a major problem. It sounds like a real quality control problem. I really pride myself on buying American made but Whirlpool is not helping my case for buying American made. It would be nice if they offered to replace it being they cant seem to find parts.

Bought a Whirlpool range in Nov. Within a month the large burners fell apart and the reflector bowls discolored from normal use. Call Whirlpool and they sent out replacements. Within a month the first replacement fell apart and the new bowls discolored from heat again. I held off calling until the second burner fell apart and this time when I called I was told I would have to stay home to wait for a service call to have burners replaced which I could do myself and that the bowls arent covered and that it normal for them to discolor with normal use. They said I should wrap them in foil to protect them. They appear to prefer wasting time and money rather making a good product. The burner bowls from my old GE stove are still shiny after many years of use but Whirlpools cant hold the finish for a month. Please note I was an appliance tech and ran an appliance repair business for 18 years. These failures are not normal or acceptable. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

So, I had the inconvenience of food being stored, time away from work, and food spoilage. The fridge was fixed and worked until I wake up today (not even a week) and the freezer is thawing out yet again. Again, I removed food and there’s more spoilage. I’m waiting for service to arrive some time today. I called Whirlpool and there is no compensation of any kind. I’m never buying a Whirlpool product again.

On April 17th mid morning I noticed that the freezer side was not keeping items Frozen. Everything was melting period. I then opened up the refrigerator side all the items are not as cool as they should be. I then proceeded to do a Google search to see what I should check for in regards to the freezer and the refrigerator side not keeping cool. I then proceeded to pull the refrigerator out to inspect the back of the refrigerator. When I did that I noticed there was a hot mark on my wall, as well as a huge it burn mark on my floor. I then unplug to the refrigerator do the huge fire hazard and I touched my floor and it was very hot to the touch.I called my stepfather who is a firefighter and had him come over right away. He said we needed to take the refrigerator outside right away because the compressor had overheated and that is why it started to burn my floor. He then went to the fire station and got a heat sensor check machine, and we checked my wall and floor and we had to make sure that it was cooling down so it did not start my floor boards on fire so then we had to put a fan on it to cool it down. I then went and purchased a new refrigerator, due to this one was no longer able to be used or repaired. The refrigerator was only four years and 5 months old. For a $1,300 refrigerator it should last longer than 4 years.I called Whirlpool the following day or two days later and regards to this issue. The only thing they could tell me is that they were sorry, this refrigerator almost started my home on fire and we have six children a family of 8. It ruined my floor and part of my wall in my kitchen and we have lost a few hundred dollars and groceries. This is ridiculous and not the first time, I read a few others having this issue, Whirlpool said they have never received any complaints in regards to the refrigerator burning the floor and does not see it as a fire hazard at all.

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

Horrible Customer Experience. After having my Whirlpool side by side with bottom freezer for 5 months it quit cooling (both freezer and refrig portions). This happened on a Saturday evening and Whirlpool was closed until Monday (no emergency service shown on their website for my area). Whirlpool contacted their service agent and they could not come out until Wednesday. Service tech said compressor was bad and had to order new one. Compressor arrived the next day however they could not come back until the following Monday to install. By this time I was without a refrigerator for 9 days. Techs installed new compressor and by Tuesday it quit cooling again! Tech came out the next day and said he thought the problem was the compressor and now says its the evaporator. I had to wait until the next week before they would come and install the new evap. By that time I will be without a refrig/freezer for 16 days. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and talked to several different people and all they would offer me is $50. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

We purchased our fridge February 2017. It stopped working September 2018. It wasn’t staying cold. Under manufacturers warranty a repairman was sent out to assess the problem. They had to order the part that went bad. A week later the came back and “fixed” it. Total time missed at work 1 day. It stopped working again April 2019. It wasn’t staying cold. Under our Lowe’s extended protection plan a different repairman was sent out to assess the problem. They had to order the part. A week later they came back and “fixed” it. Total time missed at work 1.5 days. Yesterday (July 2019) we noticed it wasn’t cold AGAIN. Called Lowe’s and was told they could call it a Lemon and replaced until the 4th time it needed repaired. They would need to send out a repairman and assess the issue and make a repair. Our 3 yr extended protection plan expires February 2020. So we’re probably not going to make it Lemon status within the warranty. The fridge is French Door Bottom Mount model. Do NOT buy this refrigerator!

In 2008, we purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater from Lowes. Three years later the tank started leaking (this water heater had a 6-year warranty). Per Whirlpools instructions we were to return this one to Lowes for a refund (in hindsight we should have taken the money & went elsewhere to purchase a better brand!). As our plumber was removing the leaking heater we went to Lowes to purchase a new Whirlpool Water Heater upgrading to one with a 12-year warranty hoping that this one would last, it was advertised as the BEST one Lowes sells! After our plumber swapped out the heaters we returned the leaking water heater for our refund (remember this one had a 6-year warranty & only lasted 3 years). This past June (2015) our water heater stopped working, turns out the thermocouple went out which shuts the gas valve off. Called 5 plumbing companies in the Metro Phoenix area, not a single one would work on it! We researched the repair, called Whirlpool & was told that this water heater was out of warranty. Wait a minute! This one has a 12-year warranty & it is only 4 years old! Whirlpool told me that it is a replacement water heater so the warranty for this water heater is only 6 years (from the 2008 date of the purchase of the first water heater). It didnt matter that the replacement water heater was a different model & was more expensive than what was refunded to us. We replaced the thermocouple ourselves & got it going again. Last week it started leaking, called Whirlpool again got the runaround again, called a plumber who replaced it with a new Ruud for $1000.00 (Water heater + Labor). We went back to Lowes to try to get their help resolving this, the store manager said this was a Whirlpool warranty issue. We ended up taking the junk Whirlpool water heater to a recycling facility and getting $2.50 for it. Bottom LINE!! READ THE REVIEWS, THEY ARE TRUE!!! There was a class action lawsuit with a settlement of which I never received a notice for, I read about it online this summer, but it was too late to opt in. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool water heaters, no one will repair them, Lowes wont stand behind the products on their shelves, they get your money & hide behind the manufacturer & Whirlpool has very nice script to get you off of phone! Whirlpool used to be a trusted brand (do your research, I think they are the manufacturer for certain store brands! ). Our new Ruud water heater has a faster recovery than either of the Whirlpools that weve had; the drain valve is brass, not plastic like the whirlpool, it is overall a much higher quality.

Whirlpool washing machine was not a good buy at all specially after using it and seeing that over the years I had to incur high costs of maintenance. Over the months and years of buying Whirlpool front load washing machine, I had to replace motor twice, digital display twice, motherboard twice THAT TOO at a very high price every time something broke. This time the angle that supports the drum broke and Whirlpool says drum needs to be replaced. HOWEVER, after waiting a month company says DRUM IS UNAVAILABLE. Which means my machine has become absolutely useless just because Whirlpool does not have the spare. Whirlpool has a ridiculous track record with poor service and poor product quality. Manufacturing in one country and selling it in another WITHOUT SPARES is defective and poor service, totally unreliable. Wouldnt recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

So I called, and the person was like Um, the technicians were at your house. Excuse me? She sighed and said tsk, tsk, tsk. This woman was SO DISRESPECTFUL. She tried to end up conversation by saying, ugh, the technicians will call you tomorrow morning and they will let you know okay?? Bye. and hung up the phone. I didnt have any chance to say something. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. Whirlpool service dept was called and a repair tech was dispatched - 4 TIMES! The tech from Appliance Science spends most of his time on his phone talking to tech support, and has pretty much changed out parts at will! The motherboard, the pump, the clutch, the splutch have all been changed, to no use!We still experience problems with the washer NOT spinning, or only spinning for a short time, and the clothes still soaking wet! Its a good thing the dryer works well, because the washer is a dud, and we cant do a damn thing about it! Weve been told by Whirlpool service that since we have a repair warranty, we cannot get a replacement washer because we dont have a replacement warranty. Ive never heard something so ridiculous!
