Four microwave ovens to finally get one that works. Four months after purchase, the French door fridge accumulated ice, 3/4 thick, in the bottom of the freezer compartment. I had no knowledge of this until the drawer became difficult to open and close. Lowes is replacing the unit.

I havent had my Whirlpool Cabrio washer for even 5 years and I have had to replace the glass lid and now the tub bearings need to be replaced... I have read countless complaints for the same issue. I feel like Whirlpool should at least send out free replacement bearings and the $85.00 bearing press tool that you will need if youre handy enough to fix the problem yourself. PS to all of the poor victims of Whirlpool bearings, go to Amazon and you can buy the bearings and the tool for about $150.00. You will need to order bearings part #10435302 and the bearing driver tool #w10447783... And as far as my matching dryer - knock on wood - it still runs great.

We purchased Whirlpool Gold appliances because we thought that they had an excellent reputation? Wrong! Our Whirlpool refrigerator lining started cracking before the unit was 3 years old. Now its 7 years & cracks are so deep and there are so many of them, the refrigerator must be replaced. No help from Whirlpool when I called. Now remember, a refrigerator is supposed to last 14-17 years. 7 years is not acceptable! This is a known problem. If you Google refrigerator liner cracks Whirlpool youll see many of them. Unfortunately, Whirlpool will not accept responsibility for faulty design/manufacturing which leaves the consumer to be out of their hard-earned money. Before you ever buy a Whirlpool product, read the reviews and decide if Whirlpool not standing behind their products makes it worth it for you to buy them. I certainly dont recommend them! I also wish to tell you that a major crack was around the light housing and Whirlpool placed the light cover over it where it was concealed to the buyer. Youd never know it until the light cover would be removed for cleaning. Which wasnt easy to do since Whirlpool installed it with 2 sided sticky glue foam tape. Now thats really scum behavior!

Purchased a Whirlpool water heater (model ND50T122-403) through Lowe’s in Dec 2013. Later discovered online it fraught with breakdown issues. 11 months later ours broke down. Whirlpool Customer Service first told us We dont have any authorized plumbers in your area. Went to Lowe’s the next day - they called on their hotline and we got a call back from Whirlpool that afternoon. Told us part would ship out immediately (arrived next day - no complaints there) and gave us an authorization for 2 plumbers. Both are over 35 miles away and one is out of state. Called once the part arrived... First one said hed try to get to us in the next 4-7 days; second one said We get to warranty work as fill-in work. Well put you on a list and call if were going to be in your area. While we did a bit of web research before buying this water heater, we really should have taken the model number, gone home and googled it before buying. Wish wed gone with a unit from a real plumbing supply place. They were a lot more expensive but you get what you pay for.

Have had this washer for one year. Clothes have never been clean since day one. Dark clothes come out with white marks all over. Having to use an extra rinse cycle or set on bulky items - whats the point of a high efficiency appliance? Still not clean after that anyways. Stains such as chocolate and toothpaste still remain after washing and my husband complains of finding small holes in his clothes. Lid needs to be left open at all times or you get a funky smell. I am using the HE liquid detergent, even tried a cold water product for cold washes. I hate this washer. Wish I had my 20 year old Kenmore still.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet machine in September 2010. About a year ago, I started noticing tears and stains on clothing. Luckily, it was always on a washcloth or blanket, nothing special. Last week, it tore a 3-inch hole in my good jacket. I was not happy! My husband and I checked inside the drum and all around the seal. Neither of us found any rough edges. I thought if I called Whirlpool, they might have had a recall. They assured they had never heard of this problem. REALLY!!! Just look at all these e-mail complaints. Back to the old top loading - basic wash machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool!!!

Bought this side by side, Whirlpool with ice maker and water dispenser in April 2013 at Home Depot. From the beginning, we have NEVER been able to get any chilled water out of the refrigerator. Sometimes the water is even warmer than the water out of the tap. Repeated attempts to fix and now Whirlpool tech Tom, told repairman, sorry this is normal, no refrigerator can guarantee temp of water.” Ive NEVER had a refrigerator with a water dispenser not chill the water much less, come out WARMER! I Bought the Whirlpool Duet Steam Mod#: WFW95HEDC0 in 2015. I have always wondered how a machine can get clothes clean with less water but liked the idea of the energy star and saving water. However, I found that I was right and the clothes do not get very clean. They do not even get all wet hence the dry feeling when they are done. I just recently got a little frustrated at having to rewash some things by hand afterwards. I started to pretreat and wash out stains by hand beforehand. That helped some. I finally stopped the machine after all the water was done filling it and it tumbled a bit. It looked like it was wet from the window but when I dug through the clothes I pulled out a t-shirt that was almost bone dry. Some of the other thicker clothes like jeans etc. had a lot of dry spots too. This is why the odors don’t come out and why spots and lines are left where the dry meets the wet. There just isn’t enough water get all the material wet. I then proceeded to pour a pail of water in to get all the clothes wet. When I started it back up, it drained some of the water and I still had the problem. So now I get all the clothes wet in the sink before I put them in the washer. It’s amazing how clean they got and they didn’t have the body odors either. I think this machine would be fine if it could be reprogrammed to add more water for cycles. I know that would change the “Energy Star” but this water saving idea is bogus if we have to rewash and add more water to the cycles. At this point I will be looking for a new machine that doesn’t have the energy star but allows me to adjust the water myself. I do not trust these machines anymore.

GS6SHEXNB02 Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator - Bad ice maker module. Ice maker valve is bad. Its gone out 3 times a year since I got it. We order a replacement, it goes bad again. Its not the ice maker itself, its a bad valve. Signs its going out, ice maker stops making ice or the ice cubes are small or the refrigerator water will start pulsing coming out (start and stop). Whirlpool made a bad product and they know about. Several complaints online about the ice maker no longer making ice. Bad product.

Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.

Pulled a track home water heater out to replace with a Whirlpool 12 year smart heater. Well within 4 years with tank flush every year the water coming out of my hot water tap looks like mud. We have whole house water filters and when you drain the sink there is a layer of rust. I called and asked them what I should do and they told me to flush it with apple vinegar. Did this but a week later it was back. Called again and was told to do it three times with apple vinegar. There was nothing about this in the care manual about apple vinegar. I will never buy Whirlpool again NEVER!

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

I bought the Whirlpool Refrigerator wrf989sdam00 in September 2013. Ive had nothing but problems with it breaking down within the first year. 5 days after the first year the 2nd cooling coil stopped working. After several attempts to get some help from the company I paid $500 for the second coil to be replaced. One year later that second coil has broken down once again, called Whirlpool and got nowhere. Ill have to pay another repair company to come in, AGAIN, to repair this piece of junk! Whirlpool does not, will not, has not, stood by their disastrous attempts to produce a refrigerator to keep your foods fresh. Whirlpool double oven. The electronic control board has been replaced twice and needs to be replaced a third time after less than a year. The thermal fuses go each time I run the self clean. Whirlpools response has been disgraceful, trying to blame the problem on faulty installation when thousands of people have had the same problem. Ignore ANY US companys product; their warranties are worthless and they repair, not replace. My next oven will be European because in Europe they have to automatically warranty for five years any consumer durable. Consumer Reports ratings are worthless since they dont include breakdown experience in the ratings. Never buy anything from Whirlpool. They sell rubbish and dont honor their own warranty. Check the BBB rating. My brand new double oven broke down the first time that I ran the self clean cycle. Whirlpools response was to claim that the cutout opening was 1/8 inch too narrow and therefore they would not honor the five year warranty that I had bought from them. This was a lie, as I verified the width and it was exactly that required. Others have had the same experience. Whirlpool also makes Maytag, Kitchenaid, Kenmore and Ikea.

Moved into a house with a 2009 Gold Series Dishwasher model GU2475XTVY0. It has never worked since we moved in 3 years ago, always left dishes musty and poorly cleaned. We basically used it as a rinse/dry and pre-washed everything by hand. Even then it would mold up frequently and required manual cleaning. Total piece of junk, but looked really nice, stainless finish. Yeah.Latest chapter is it completely stopped working. Called a tech out for the usual $80+. His advice: this is a total lemon, and has been from the start. Not worth repairing. So Whirlpool, is this the standard you have now? 5-6 years for a dishwasher life cycle? Noted that my fridge is a matching 2009 Gold series, it has also had several problems with keeping a steady temp and has gone through 2 control boards at a hefty fee each. We purchased a WRS576FIDM refrigerator from HHGregg in August 2015 and immediately had problems with ice maker and door having condensation on it. I contacted Whirlpool who had a tech come to my house and verify problems. Whirlpool replaced it with a new refrigerator in November 2015 and w/in a week it had awful condensation on the outside of the door, dripping onto the floor and pooling water. A tech responded to our house again and confirmed the problem with Whirlpool. Whirlpool advised they would be sending out two new doors for our side to side refrigerator and said we should receive them within 4 to 6 weeks from late November 2015. I asked Whirlpool to send us a different model because this is the second refrigerator of the same model that has the same issues. Whirlpool refused. I have spent countless hours on the phone with Whirlpool, HHGregg, and waiting for service appointments and my patience is getting thin. I just contacted them today 2-9-16 to inquire about my doors since it has been well over the 4 to 6 weeks Whirlpool said it should take to receive them. The Whirlpool rep on the phone had no information about the status of the doors and said that they would have to contact the service company to inquire more about the status of the doors. He also said that under special circumstances, it may take an additional two weeks for certain door orders. I once again requested a different model of refrigerator or a refund.I tried to get HHGregg to allow me to return the 2nd refrigerator just days after I received it since I was having the same issues as the original one I purchased. HHGregg said they could not since the 2nd refrigerator did not come from them. HHGregg said that they did not know why Whirlpool sent me a replacement refrigerator directly and added that normally the returns go through them. I feel like I tried to do the right thing by contacting Whirlpool for warranty work, but I feel that if I would have called HHGregg I would have been able to get a different brand refrigerator which is what I really desire after all these problems with the Whirlpool brand. I did purchase an entire Whirlpool kitchen set from HHGregg. The only problems I am having is with this refrigerator.

I contacted Whirlpool, and they scheduled a service call and stated that the washer was out of service. I told them it was and that I just bought it in April 2011. They said that the repair guy would need to see the receipt. Well, the A&E Factory service guy came out and said it was the bearings. Whirlpool only replaced the bearings with the whole tube unit and a few other parts. I was never told that all these parts would be mailed to my home, until I got a call from A&E about the tube being on back order. I was told that the part wouldnt be in until November 21, 2011, and it would take another week or more to schedule for a repair guy to come out. I called Whirlpool Executive Office (269-923-5000) and complained about all this. They said thats how it works--they ship everything to the customer and that there was nothing she could do about the back-ordered part. So I called Lowes corporate office and told them what was going on and asked if they could push Whirlpool into fixing my washer faster. About 4 1/2 hours later, I got a call from the assistant store manager; and they said that they would replace my washer with a brand-new one and would have it delivered in 2 days. Now, that was going above and beyond what I thought they would do. Just another reason why Ill continue to be a Lowes customer. Now, here it is, April 2012; and my dryer is leaking water into the drum. On Saturday, I went online and scheduled a service repair for Wednesday, April 25. Today, the 24th, I got a call from VIA that they would be out tomorrow and that I would owe them $120.00 for the service call as my dryer was out of warranty. Here we go once again, having to battle Whirlpool! I really dont give a dang what their dang system tells them about when I bought their product! I know when I bought it. And why did they keep telling me that Im wrong? They did almost to the point of calling me a liar!I called the Executive Office again and had to leave a message. Mark my words, I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product again! I will make sure that I tell everyone who I know at work and at home about the way Whirlpool handles their good customers!

We have a Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus dishwasher thats been doing a great job cleaning our dishes for just shy of 24 years. We use a cleaner every 2-3 months to keep everything cleaned out and sanitized. We use a liquid detergent and a rinse aid and the dishes come out clean every time. We feel like weve been blessed with this machine and would definitely buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater several years back with every bit of the Bells & Whistles that Lowes could bestow on it paid for and documented on the tank; Limited Lifetime Warranty and Lowes Professional Installation. It failed after several years with multiple problems. First, the bottom heating unit failed at the same time, noticing a leak from the top heating units external cover where a supporting screw had popped out, leaking down to the floor. Not only was the Whirlpool 800 number a scham of silence, with no estimated wait time and after approximately 20 minutes, a rep picks up as I could hear their legal department on an alternated line instructing and listening in, then dropping off when those crooks felt I had been placated enough to go onto to the next sucker. I have all Whirlpool Gold & KitchenAid Superba appliances in my kitchen and never thought I would be saying this but I will never purchase another Whirlpool Appliance or shop at Lowes again!

I have spent 30 minutes trying to change light bulb under the oven and get the cover plate back on. I watched the film on how to do it, it was amusing to watch the struggle to get it on. It was amusing to say the least. Whirlpool watching it??? I do not believe whoever designed this worthless time consuming light cover never tested it one time, or it would had been more user friendly. It amazes me what kind of trash they can build for us consumers to have to deal with at times. Tomorrow this overhead piece of junk is coming out and being replaced by a non Whirlpool one. I am going to get a tractor and smash it into little pieces and put on side of street with a note saying this is what happens when you try for an hour to change the bulb.

I purchased a Whirlpool water heater with the Flame Lock Safety System on 6/4/12. When installing the water heater, the cold water pipe would not screw into the top of the water heater. I exchanged this water heater for a new water heater of the same make and model. I brought this water heater home and had it installed and noticed that the flame on the burner was orange and too high. I called the 877-817-6750 number for warranty and was told by the customer service rep that it was either the gas regulator or the orifice inside the water heater. I was told to contact a plumber to take care of this issue and it was not a warranty claim and not their problem. I then went to the Lowes store where I purchased the unit and spoke to a manager. The manager called the same number I called and was told the same thing, that I was responsible for the repairs to the unit. How can this not be covered? Both pieces are internal to the unit and were never touched during installation. I now have to remove and return this unit and install a new water heater that will not be a Whirlpool at my own expense. Do not buy Whirlpool.

I purchased this range/electric (ygfe461lvq0) two years ago. It worked fine, but once about a year ago, the oven overheated and the breaker had to be turned off to stop it. No error codes were displayed. Year two, the oven broiler element stays on regardless if using bake or broil. Oven will go into runaway mode and breaker or cancel button has to be pushed to stop it from over heating. This range is a fire hazard and should be recalled regardless of what age it is. I called Whirlpool at Sears which recommended a tech who arrived to tell me that the control board is shot and for a price of around $400.00, it could be replaced. What is up with that? I had to pay for the expensive tech, also for 15 minutes of work. Sears says that I should have taken the extended warranty plan for around $160. Do I have to pay for an extended plan to have my house burned down due to a defect in manufacturing from Whirlpool? This is disgusting that a company can get away with crap like this. How do you people sleep at night?

7 months ago we had a Whirlpool dishwasher installed into our home. While away on vacation the piece inside malfunctioned and caused major damage as water filled the home. Whirlpool claims, that because it’s a part that they contract out to another company, they “Whirlpool” are not responsible! If you purchase a product from Whirlpool and they put their name on that product, then Whirlpool should stand by its product. Well... beware, you’re not going to compensate from Whirlpool! We urge you, make sure of whom the parts of the product your buying from belong to, before you buy it FIRST! Never again!

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio 5.3 cubic foot washing machine to replace a Samsung equivalent machine. I am so extremely disappointed with it. As a mother of nine (seven of them boys) I need a quality machine. Unfortunately this is not one. The clothes come out of the machine just as dirty as they went in. The pants still have dirt on the knees. I think a rinse in the sink would yield better results. I use the highest soil setting, warmest water fabric will allow, and exclusively Tide detergent. I only fill the tub with half a load (completely voiding the value of large capacity) and yet still have to run clothes through twice.I really don’t have time for this. All the kids clothes have to be inspected before drying. I wish I could go back in time and keep my Samsung which was recalled. I would rather take the risk of an exploding machine than deal with this one any longer. Unfortunately, after spending over $1000 on the washer (and buying the matching dryer) I’m stuck with this useless machine. I hope others don’t make the same mistake I did.

We bought this refrigerator (Whirlpool Model # WRF9913F1FM00) last August 2016. From day 1, the water coming out from the water dispenser was not cold at all. Same temperature as the tap water. By November, the refrigerator started to get warm. Apparently, the evaporator fan motor had to be changed according to the technician who spent more than an hour on the phone with their technical advisor to diagnose the problem with the refrigerator. After a week, the refrigerator got fixed. Not only did the refrigerator started working again, even the water from the dispenser got finally cold, too. Now four months later, March 2016, the same problem: the fridge started to not get cold again. In addition to that, the ice would not come out from the ice dispenser and water from the water dispenser is not cold again. When my husband checked inside the door, the ice were all clumped together. They looked like they melted. And even the ice in the freezer bin looked the same. And on top of this, the refrigerator was making so much noise. The technician was just here again today.

The washing machine is so loud when it is on, drowning out conversations esp when cooking or eating (it’s located in the kitchen). The machine tumbler has to be constantly readjusted no matter the size of the wash or how many times my husband or myself adjust the tumbler; consequently the washing machine is always dancing, making a horrible banging noise. The washer is under 6 years old. With that said, when you open it, the lip is all rusted out.

We have a 2008 Whirlpool gas range that has worked reasonably well but lately more and more of the electronic push switches on the keypad have stopped functioning. So now I cant set an oven temperature as only a few of the 10 number switches still work. I talked to an appliance repair guy who said that the typical electronic keypads are notorious for burning out after 3-5 years because of heat transfer from the oven. So now Im stuck with an oven that is virtually unusable and a $400-500 cost to replace the keypad control. Is it worth replacing? Can the faulty control buttons be somehow fixed? Shouldnt Whirlpool acknowledge the faulty design and provide a free (and hopefully better) keypad? There must be thousands of people out there with similar circumstances. What about a class action suit? Any advice/opinions out there?

Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

We purchased what we thought was a top of the line, high quality washer and dryer, Whirlpool WTW7800XWO approximately a year and a half ago. It has the glass top with a plastic frame, which has just cracked at the hinge location. I went online to read reviews and then called the Whirlpool Customer Service number, 1-800-253-1301 for assistance. I was thinking after reading the reviews that this should be a simple recall type discussion; however, I got completely the opposite! I asked if this was a common problem and the response I got was, Well, we have had people sit on them, stand on them and fall on them, so they have broken for all kinds of reasons! I was flabbergasted! Of course, I was then told it was out of warranty but he could sell me a new one for $219.38 plus tax plus shipping for a grand total of $261.17. It is clear that Whirlpool does not allow their employees access to the complaint line. This must be kept top secret because the only people that know are the thousands of people that have called in to complain, and once you listen to a complaint, you are fired so you cant hear another one and figure out this is a common problem the consumers are getting screwed on! Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and the first to go was the washer after 11 years, which is when we bought this new set. When we have to replace the rest, dishwasher, fridge, etc., it will definitely not be Whirlpool unless they do something about known problems and help the consumer out, especially in an economy like this because bare minimum word of mouth advertising is the worst kind to have! I will now see if someone from Whirlpool reaches out to me or not! In the meantime, I will go to Change.org and sign the petition, never again to purchase a Whirlpool product!

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer and Dryer. The control panel on the washer went out in March. We called for a repair. The repairman came, told us we needed to replace the control panel and he would order it. My American Express was charged $389.91 on March 26th. I called today, April 9, asking about where the part was and when my machine would be repaired. I was told the part would not be available until July 11, 2013. I cannot believe that a company would expect a customer to wait nearly four months for a part as well as charge them for the parts and labor four months ahead of the part. When I called, I was first told that there were 15 parts in stock, but then was told that there were not any available to me. I have cancelled the service but it will take them three weeks to credit my card back for the part.

We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). Got the dreaded 4 flashes LED status - High Temperature Shutdown. Online and vendor documentation says that this condition requires gas valve unit replacement, a $115 option. If your Pilot remains burning, but main burner does not kick in, then a good guess is the circuit board requires a reset. Prior to any further work, test the Thermopile, that is the round item with two blades located below and to the right of the gas valve unit. Move knob on control panel to OFF1) Pull out plug with red and white wires located on front of gas control. 2) Have someone Hold in the control knob on the unit at Pilot, and make sure Pilot flame is burning. 3) Using a multi-meter, set it to millivolt reading, and test voltage across the two wires. Voltage should be greater than 350mV, preferably >500mV. 4) If you get a reading in that range, your Thermopile is good. Turn knob to off position. Do NOT uncouple gas lines. 5) Piezo Igniter wire comes apart, disconnect it. 6) Remove screw that holds front cover. (screw located bottom left as you look at the unit) 7)Cover simply pulls off directly towards you. 8)Remove the screw holding the circuit board to the cover, and remove circuit board by unclipping it - 3 clips, one either side and one at bottom. 9) Unplug the 3 strand thermostat cable, you should now have the circuit board clear. 10) Take a piece of aluminum foil, fold it twice, then lay circuit board on it facing up, do it on top of tank, want it grounded. 11)Using one of the multimeter probes, wrap a piece of foil around it, keeping point free, and ground it too. Then slowly work around the board, touching all the solder connections you see, as well as the chip legs. Pay particular attention to the round objects on the board (capacitors), make sure to ground out each of the solder points, visible either side. (takes about 5- 8 minutes, take your time) 12) Once done, reconnect thermostat cable to board, then reinstall board into cover (dont forget the screw)13) Place cover back into place, screw in cover screw, reattach Piezo wire and black electrical plug with thermopile wires. 14) set Knob to Pilot, get pilot lit (may take a few hits on the Piezo button) and while still holding the knob in, watch to see what LED flashes you get (there will be a 10 second time lapse before it will start to flash) 15) You should either get 1 flash or 7 flashes, that means the board is reset, now turn knob to warm, and see if main burner kicks in. Good luck, and for a half hours work you have saved yourself $$$. PS: If it occurs again, you have sediment build up, need to drain the tank.

Unbelievable.... takes a whole evening to do one load of towels!!! (actually a whole evening to do 2 towels) I hate it!!! Not to mention, whatever they designed between the tub and the door, a rubber whatever it is, is nothing but a catch for disgusting bacteria and slime. Considering the amount of wash I DONT DO, this is unacceptable, even though I have bought and used the new washing machine washing stuff!!! Honestly.... had a Maytag Neptune before this machine..... that is the way to go folks, pay a little more, but way more satisfied. Cleaned like a gem, unlike this whirlpool, cleaning is at best mediocre!! Unfortunately, I broke it, asking it to wash huge 120 in round table cloths for my business, and heavy chair covers..... Had I have know.... cant even wash 2 towels in this new Whirlpool machine!! It is heading to the curb with all its disgusting places you have to clean, I will pay someone to take it away, seriously cost me a ton of money in re-spinning (or yeah, and re- rinsing, cause you cant just spin something), would have been better to fix my MAYTAG!!! I hate Whirlpool!! Do not buy one!!

Hot water heater model #0833T402747 purchased late 2008 - Several service calls had to be made to a plumber, due to this unit not working. The door assembly was shipped to me by Whirlpool. I had to pay again for the plumber to install this part. Hes been here 3-4 times since I bought the unit. Last Wednesday, May 2, 2012, no hot water again. The same plumber came out and said the door assembly had again gone bad. Whirlpool was contacted on Thursday morning and would not agree to do anything. They were given my plumbers name and number and I never heard back from them. I contacted Lowes in Acworth, GA and they agreed to replace the hot water heater. So now Im forced to pay for another install. I requested that Whirlpool pay this expense, and their representative, **, said no. I intend to sue them for all monies spent on this lemon and due to this lemon, I will never buy another Whirlpool product of any kind. I have told family and friends and theyve agreed that due to the bad product and worse customer service, they will also stay away from purchasing anything made by this company. Whirlpool certainly wont be hurt by me and me alone. But Ill make sure that anyone I run into at Lowes or anywhere else is even looking at a Whirlpool product will get an earful from me. This is the type of customer service that consumers dont have to put up with anymore. There are many resources on the internet to get the word out and I intend to spend a great deal of my time doing just that.

We purchased the Whirlpool double oven with convection to go into our new home 18 months ago. I used the self-cleaning cycle on the bottom oven for the first time last weekend. Halfway through the cycle the control panel went blank. Basically both ovens died, and the bottom oven door is locked. After researching online I learned that this has been an issue with the self-cleaning feature on Whirlpool ovens for some time now. So buyer beware, if you decide to purchase, dont use the self-cleaning feature.

Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!

If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. Theres no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, How cant I? Its happening to the refrigerator I own. They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They dont care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.

My Duet washer is just 3 years old and has had light use as there are only two people in the household. After just 3 short years the machine stopped working. We were told it needed a controller board and new valves. The cost of the repair was quoted at $733.00. This is far more than we paid for the machine. So we called customer service and at first they thought they could sell us a plan for $350.00 that would cover the repair but it was denied by the supervisor. So zero help, absolutely nothing. Now the backdrop here is that our last Whirlpool (same type) is still in use with our son no repairs in 15 years. Does anyone reading this think we should buy another Whirlpool or recommend it to our Friends and family? I think a Maytag is in our future. Whatever happened to companies standing behind their reputation in America?

I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years
I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years ago. I noticed that the clothes were not getting wet, clean, were coming out covered in lint, soap film and stained. It is misleading to call it a HE washer since I have to wash each load 3 - 4.5 hours. It is NOT energy efficient if you have to wash each load of clothes 3 times with a rinse. I have tried all of the tricks - changing soaps, labeling the wash as bulky, wetting the clothes to add weight... Washing clothes should not be this complicated. The clothes are sorted appropriately and washed in the right temperature. I do not understand what is staining the clothes. I put new white towels in and they come out stained (see photo)? Lowes sent out a repairman who said the machine would never clean the clothes since there was not enough water in the washing machine to wash the clothes. I tried to return the washer to Lowes but they said it was past the 30 days. Unfortunately, I purchased the appliances on a Lowes credit card so there was no recourse. I then contacted Whirlpool and was put on hold and transferred to various people before I gave up.

On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I exchanged my fancy front loader Cabrio washing machine for a top loader a
I exchanged my fancy front loader Cabrio washing machine for a top loader after having numerous issues: clothes werent getting clean, extended water cycle, and a leak. The original purchase was made at Lowes, where I elected to invest in the 3 yr extended warranty plan. After several visits from their sub-contractor, they allowed me to exchange the washer for a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio. At first the washer seemed to work, but after about 8 months I started having problems. The bearings went out and when the service company replaced it they forgot to screw top of the machine together. During my first load, I heard this terrible noise and discovered that the entire top of the machine had separated from the bottom by 2 inches. I frantically rushed to turn the washer off before my laundry room flooded. So, they were out again and screwed the machine back together but failed to retrieve the original screw that they removed from the washer during the first round. Well, the screw got lodged in-between the drum and interior, causing it to completely break the machine. Lowes agreed to exchange the washer for another top loader Cabrio, but my 3 year service contract would not cover the new washer. Not to my surprise, I immediately had issues with it and had to hire a repairman to assess the problem, who concluded that it was the bearings. He informed me that it would be about $700 to replace the bearings and cheaper to just buy a new machine. I called Whirlpool and explained to them about all my issues, now becoming almost comical. They arranged for an outside contractor to assess it. After confirming that the bearing were bad they replaced them. Another few months go by before problems occur, this time the washing machine stopped draining water and spinning. The service company was out another 4 times. They replaced things like the mother board and control panel. My last appointment was today, where the service guy said, There is only one error code. It is a stuck button. I said, Will you at least witness a full cycle so I can show you all my problems: clothes still dirty and stinky, items still wet after spin cycle, cycle taking 2 to 3 hours to run, horrible noises, and timer adding minutes to original cycle. He called Whirlpool because he genuinely felt sorry for my situation. They were of no help. He didnt stay to witness a cycle. Moral of story: if the error code doesnt detect a problem, the consumer will not be helped (this is something that consumers do not have access to). They will happily call a technician out to put a bandaid on an issue until your warranty runs out. I have had between 7 to 10 service calls out to my house, requiring me to take either an entire or 1/2 day off of work each time. If I added up all time lost at work, I could have easily purchased a top-of-the-line washer/dryer duo and been done with all this Whirlpool foolishness. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this product.

Whirlpool Slide-In AquaClean Technology - My beautiful, modern oven is no longer. After 4 tries doing self-cleaning my oven was still dirty. I did have to wipe out the water (although I measured it) before I could take the scraper/sponge provided by Whirlpool to assist in the cleaning. Scraper bent - sponge disintegrated and I still have a dirty oven. Called service. My pleasant service tech informed me the water is only to reach 250 degrees! Really! My dinosaur of a Whirlpool cleaned fabulously! New technology has turned mine into an on your knees, scraping and broiling fool. Fool because I bought into the whole Aqualift Technology. We cannot use any kind of liner, etc. This slide-in may look great but the labor required to keep it that way is beyond this OCD person! So much for my efficient new kitchen. In November 2016 I took delivery of a Whirlpool WRF757SDEE French door unit. One month later: In December 2016, it needed a new ice maker, as it never did fill the ice bucket and they were always melted together. Two months later: In February 2017, a thermal fuse had to be replaced—refrigerator compartment wasn’t cold enough. 8 months later, Aug 2017, it needed electronic circuit board replaced, as refrigerator compartment completely froze up. November 18, 2017 manufacturers one year warranty expired. BUT, I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY! 4 years from NSI Protection Plus (a joke, see my review.)December 31, 2017: One year and one month after delivery, the unit stopped cooling completely. My local appliance store where I purchased sent out a tech and took it into the shop for diagnosis. They found the sealed system was kaput. Couldn’t get the temp below 67 degrees. My dealer was great and sent out a loaner after a week, and for almost 7 weeks they argued for a replacement with NSI Protection Plus. Finally on February 8, 2018, they threatened to take them to court and they paid $15 less than my purchase price. I’m out $189 for the “warranty,” $188.48 sales tax and $89.95 delivery. And I have to go buy another refrigerator. It won’t be a Whirlpool.

My oven had been temperamental since day one, then got worse over time. I do not use my oven that much so was not really worried or alarmed until a tray of cookies caught fire. It was set at 350 and jumped to 525 on its own. (I bought an oven thermometer to monitor) Minor burn taking tray out but all okay :-). Contacted Lowe’s where we bought it and they would do nothing (note: at this point the oven is 15-months old and out of warranty). Advised me to contact Whirlpool. Did that - they sent out a repair service and they determined it was the temp. sensor. It is now April 2014 and I am still waiting for the part (this all started Sept 2013). I have since talked and wrote to Whirlpool for this to be resolved and also asked that the range be recalled due to fire hazard at the least! When I spoke to them in December, they said they could give me ‘50% off the part’. Remember I am still waiting for that part, lol! After writing corp h/q, they said “Sorry, since we cant get the part why not have someone come in and take the old part out and have it rebuilt.” I ask you Whirlpool w/q would you be happy with that??? Will post any follow-ups... would love to hear from anyone else with this problem - model # GFE461LVS. Great day everyone. :-)

I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator January 2016. 4 months later the refrigerator stopped working. It took over a week for Whirlpool to have it repaired. Two weeks later the refrigerator stopped working again. It took four days for Whirlpool to get a repair man to my house. I called customer service 4x asking for a replacement or loaner or possibly they could expedite the repairs. All they could do was recite my warranty to me stating that they are only responsible for repairs. I was in touch with their executive office and was pretty much told tough patooties - my warranty only covers repair. The executive office told me to wait for a third breakdown and then we could talk about an exchange. WHAT??? I have to suffer a third inconvenience before Whirlpool will do anything??? I lost hundreds of dollars in food, have to live two weeks without refrigeration in 95 degree Florida weather, had to go shopping on a daily basis or eat fast food (at my expense) because I couldnt even keep milk for breakfast cereal. I filed a claim with BBB only to have Whirlpool close the claim stating that they fixed the refrigerator.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I had to replace the thermocoupler assembly 1 time and it worked fine until last week. 09/02/1011, 4 months after warranty ran out, the unit started leaking severely from the top ? (Could of understood the bottom) here. After investigating further and being told to basically pound salt by the warranty number I called, I removed the top cove r(glued on by spray in insulation) and carved away the spray in insulation. All the bosses/threaded fittings for the inlet outlet and anode rod were all leaking under the insulation where it could not be seen! I know for a fact this unit was leaking long before the warranty expired! But because of the way it is built it is impossible to see it!. I strongly feel this was a manufacturing defect and there are hundreds if not thousands of these units in people houses all over the country!
