I have the Cabrio washer that is only four years old. It is leaking oil and is very loud during the spin cycle. I paid $800 for this washer and am extremely frustrated that it didnt last longer than this. I contacted Whirlpool customer service and had no luck since it is out of warranty. Due to the high number of complaints with the same issue, please consider a class action lawsuit. Thank you.

I purchased a new Cabrio Washing Machine and Dryer in March 2015. I have had 3 new washing machines thanks to the Customer Service provided by Lowes in Lindale Texas. The third washing machine has again lost its brain and the sensor to operate the machine. I have been waiting for the parts since December 2. Called it is still on back order. Unacceptable! It cost almost $60 dollars every 2 weeks for our washing at the Laundromat. Again unacceptable. All Whirlpool can say is We are sorry. When the machine works my clothes are beautifully cleaned using the new HE soap. Takes large loads and I love that part.I am sorry I bought a Whirlpool. Whirlpool would not work with me except to apologize and say the parts are on back order and I will get a call in 5 days for an update. These machines cost $900 each plus tax. They should work more than 3 months at a time. The first repairman could not explain anything. Said they were too new and he could not figure out what to do. The second repairman was more knowledgeable and explained what was wrong. Does not help that Whirlpool does not have an inventory of parts to take care of their customers.

Bought brand new, Whirlpool front load washer and dryer, from Corbeil. Got both items home and connected and levelled (yes I took out the shipping bolts). Did my first washing and watched my new washer dance across the floor. Called Corbeil and they told me no refunds. Best they could do was to send out a Tech to check it. Tech came, changed the shock absorbers, a token act because the machine danced as much as it did before. Please for your own well being DO NOT buy this product and DO NOT buy from Corbeil. There are other products on the market that advertise items that dont shake.

We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.

I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly
I bought a Whirlpool model GI7FVCXWY00 over and under refrigerator directly from Whirlpool through DirectBuy on April 19, 2010. The unit was a relatively high-end model (over $2,000) that came with a 12-month warranty. Thirteen months after purchase and 1 month after warranty expiration, the ice maker stopped working flooding the kitchen in the process. We called Whirlpool who recommended one of their authorized maintenance subcontractors (GuinCo) to appraise the problem. GuinCo came out, diagnosed that a valve in the ice maker had gone bad and the repair cost us $364. We chalked that up to Murphys Law (repair needed immediately after warranty expiration). Not 4 months later, the kitchen comes up flooded again and again and the ice makers not working. We call GuinCo, the repairman come out and said this time that its a heater and ice maker defect which will cost $643 to repair. He also said that the unit has been designated as having a design defect. We held off on the repair until we could contact Whirlpool for some remediation since it has become obvious that the unit is a lemon. I called Whirlpool, laid out the problems, timelines and potential cost (ice maker failures are going to cost us almost half of what the entire refrigerator cost before the unit is a year and a half old) and the only response they had netted out to was: Sorry, you should have had extended warranty. This is a prime example of an American manufacturer, marketing an inferior product and offering the customer nothing when the lack of quality becomes obvious. I will recommend to anyone I know to stay as far away from Whirlpool products as long as I live.

I bought a front loading Whirlpool washer a few years ago after having my old top loading Kenmore for 25 years. It seemed okay, but I did always have to leave the front door open and it always smelled musty, which was of some concern. My clothes never smell totally fresh. The biggest current problem is that several months ago it started with a failure code, alternately would stop without draining, wouldnt fill, or wouldnt drain, and ultimately ended up flooding my basement. So we called for service and they replaced a sensor and said these machines seem to have a lot of service issues with sensors blowing and motors dying. So I paid them that time. Now its a month or two later, failure code again, calling for service one more time. But if it costs too much I will join the legions of dissatisfied Whirlpool customers and will switch to an upright competitors brand.

I love my Whirlpool Washing machine. Purchased it 2 yrs ago & have not had any issues. Its quiet, large capacity. Washes my clothes very clean. I bought the Whirlpool bottom mount freezer to find out there were problems with the drainage. I contacted whirlpool and they sent the parts to fix it but they did not send a repairman. I’m 80 years old and I’m not getting on the floor to fix this issue besides pulling it out to get behind it. The ice will buildup in the freezer so I have to empty the freezer and break up the ice. If I don’t break up the ice it will frost over. I will never buy another whirlpool refrigerator and I’ve been looking at replacing this one.

We purchased a 4 piece set of Whirlpool kitchen appliances and have minor to major problems with 3 out of the 4. We had problems with our gas range/oven from the start. When I called to register the brand new range they told me it had been previously registered to someone else and they made me fax my receipt to them proving that the appliance was purchased new. Lowes said it was brand new in the box when I purchased it leading me to believe Whirlpool tried to pass off a refurbished product onto Lowes and then onto us. No surprise when the stove stopped working 3 times in barely over a year. It was so defective Lowes ended up replacing it for us. Not Whirlpool... they only argued with me about how the third time it was out of warranty and offered no help in fixing or replacing the defective oven. Now our ice maker just stopped dispensing ice 7 days after our warranty expired on our refrigerator model # WRS586FLDM00. Whirlpool will only agree to cover parts and is sticking us with the service call and labor! And thats not all... the plastic coating on the dishwasher racks started coming off exposing rusty metal when it was barely over a year old and I have received a postcard indicating there is a lawsuit involving our model for overheating and fire events! Now waiting for that to be our next issue. I am so disgusted with Whirlpool. We bought Whirlpool appliances believing they were quality products. They are quite the opposite. Wish I had researched their reputation and history of complaints before buying. Do not recommend Whirlpool Brand. Sincerely, Disgusted in California

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

I have a refrigerator model wrs325fdam. Its not a year old and I cant believe the runaround that I am getting from Whirlpool customer service. Come one day everything in freezer melting. Call a repair person. He come out, diagnose the problems, orders $825 worth of parts for a $899 refrigerator, puts the parts in. On the temperature in the freezer reads 80 degrees. No its order $200 more parts for this scrap metal pile. At what point do the people give a damn at the consumer, its not like anybody has common sense. Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I have never had such terrible service nor experienced an appliance that operates so poorly. I am surprised there are not more complaints with this problem. Purchased from ABT because of their reputation for customer service.

Our 2.5 year old Whirlpool top loading clothes washer started leaking from the bottom, enough to form a sizable puddle that ran under the dryer all the way to the wall. It was still under warranty so we called the company and they recommended a repair service. Guy came couldnt really identify the exact problem but said hed order parts to stop the leak. That was 6 weeks ago. He cant get the parts despite us calling about every week to see if the parts came in. So for the last month weve been taking our clothes to a laundromat. I purchase a new Whirlpool Calypso with Catalyst Washing Machine in 2006 after a house fire. Thinking that I was buying a great machine. I was so upset with my house burning that I never thought about the washing destroying my towels, rugs and sweaters until it was too late on the guarantee. I called the company and ask if there were any more complaints about this machine, and of course they said no. I ask if there was a recall and they said no. I told them that there needed to be a recall of this machine. I so want them to see the towels that I have to use. I am so embarrassed of my towels that I have to buy new when company comes. I made no difference on the price that I paid for the towels. They all were destroyed by this Whirlpool Washer. I have had enough, I am buying a new Washer and it will not be a Whirlpool. I believe that the right thing to do is for the Whirlpool company to put a recall on this machine and give our money back. I had a friend that is in charge of another washer company and had him to look at it. He said that if that was his customer complaining about his washer that they would automatically bring the customer another new machine. I wish I had went with his company. In 2011, I bought in Croatia, for the start, 2 washers (model 3LCHW9100WQ) and 1 dryer (model 3LCED9100WQ) and opened the first self-service laundry in Pula, Croatia. Since the beginning, I had problems with the gum (black). After the washing cycles, you could see black lines on the laundry. Whirlpool Croatia denied that the gum can be the cause. After two months, they gave me new gums, but the problem still exists. After 5 months of work, the first malfunction on the washers started. The biggest problem is that it took and still takes them up to a month to repair them. And these problems I have ever since. Also, the error codes never showed the correct malfunction code. In global, if I take that I have these washers and dryer for about a year, they were out of function for more than 3 months. The warranty expired in April 2012. On these reasons, I cannot recommend any product of Whirlpool, and I have to change to another company to buy more washers and dryers.

We built a new home at the beach to enjoy our retirement and the builder installed new Whirlpool appliances. As far as we are concerned this was the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY WE HAD. Our appliances were under warranty for 1 year as usual and after 14 months things began to break. The latest is the ice maker in the French door fridge. After finding the diagnostics test online I ran the test and determined that the whole ice maker needs replaced. This ridiculous since the fridge is only a little over a year old. We even upgraded the fridge to avoid any problems. After talking to the people in our neighborhood we have come to find out that most people here have had trouble with whirlpool appliances.. I am ready to send these to the junkyard and replace them with a reputable brand (LG) that we owned before and were very happy with.. I dont understand if there is all these problems with Whirlpool products why the technical team doesnt fix the problem... Get parts from the USA NOT CHINA!!! My neighbor just told me he had the repairman at his house 7 times to fix his fridge and finally got a new one. Just got tired of the hassle and expense....

Bought this washer in 2013 for close to $800. About a year and half old it got real loud sounds like a freight train. Asked whirlpool repairman about it, and was told it is a main bearing going out. He said it would cost over $500 to fix it. Whirlpool warranty sucks - only one year. Called whirlpool, told them the problem and asked if this is a problem with this washer. Got told no they have no problems with it. Found out later not only do they have this problem with it they change design because of it. Repairman said his own daughter had same problem and he had many service calls on this model all with same problem. WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE PRODUCT WHICH IS A MANUFACTURE DEFAULT. Whirlpool with four burner and the model that you self-clean the oven. It had all the features I wanted and Whirlpool has been around for a long time. Cost was right for my budget and it had all the options to it. I would have to move it out from the wall to find the model. Love the oven and the fact that I dont have to use caustic cleaners to clean it but simply have to wipe the dust out. One burner does not work and I will have to get it repaired. I shopped at a scratch and dent sale. The price was right and I could barely see the scratch and it had all the usual warranties. I need moderately priced appliances and if there were expensive features on it that I have not previously used, I would probably decline it. I do basic cooking and do not need expensive accessories. I can on my range and I have found the burners do not hold up well for canning. The burner I use for canning is the only one I have had problems with. That is the only problem I have had with the range at all. If anyone plans to can, consider purchasing the coil that is heavier to sustain the weight of the heavy canner. I would not be afraid to purchase Whirlpool again. My range is about 10 years old and other than that burner, I have had no difficulty. It is a mid-price range.

Purchased 29 cu ft French door Bottom Mount Refrigerator 9/5/2013. The ice machine started leaking continual water by August 2015 and by October 2015 the freezer quit working. Have had it repaired once and the second time the repairman said we need a new evaporator and condenser. Called Whirlpool and they said since it is out of warranty we are on our own. According to both repairman this is a common problem with this model (WRF989SDAW00). I understand that appliances break and they need repaired; however, you would think a refrigerator that cost over $3000 would last longer than 2 years. Do not purchase a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator; even if you purchase an extended warranty, you will still have spoiled food and leaking water to tend with. Disappointed with Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer GX2SHBXVY05. We purchase this refrigerator in December 2010 thinking we were buying a good quality french door fridge. It didnt take long before problems started with the freezer over freezing and the fridge not cooling. We also had a problem with water pooling on the bottom of the freezer then freezing into a solid piece of ice. Water eventually started pooling on the kitchen floor and living room carpet. We did not purchase the extended warranty believing we shouldnt have had to as we were believing a good name brand. After having a repair person in twice we were told we needed a new computer board and switch. Total cost for repair $350.00 plus previous charges, so far adding up to over $450.00. We called Whirlpool customer service, was a waste of time as they simply told me they could send out their own repair person to obtain the same diagnosis I already had. They told me I should have purchased the warranty. I told them I shouldnt have needed to. Whirlpool customer service refused to do anything for me as it was too long past the 1 year limited warranty. Doing my own research I found this to be a problem with a great many Whirlpool fridge owners and I mentioned this to their customer service and mentioned there should be a recall. I will no longer purchased another Whirlpool product as the company does not stand behind their product.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in April. The motor ran constantly. The company replaced it for me but it was back ordered until July. The one delivered in July kept freezing the items in my refrigerator. I had two service people come out to replace parts in the next couple of months. The entire time having to throw out frozen food. Finally, they had another one delivered in November. This one continues to freeze food in the refrigerator. Mind you, I just got it and they want to start again with service. Seems others are having the same issues. My 4 month old gas oven is also not broiling. Customer service is awful. Every time I call the wait time is over an hour and then they don’t really help. I would not recommended Whirlpool to anyone.

Last week dishwasher leaked. Set up repair with our local gas company that has service plus. Came today. Repairman showed me there is a hole in the bottom of the tub. Upon closer inspection it looks like the manufacturer drilled a hole that wasnt needed so they routed out a depression in the tub and must have put in some sort of plug or filler of some kind which now came out. I called Whirlpool and explained to lady about the defective tub. She said well if it had a plug of some sort put into the tub it would have fallen out before this. I said Well it didnt it just must have happened as it never leaked before. She said it is no longer in warranty. I told her this is a defect to me as if you drill a hole in the tub that wasnt necessary and then the plug failed that you put in to hide the extra hole. It is a defect not a warranty issue. Upshot is she wouldnt do anything about it. I told her I have always bought Whirlpool but if this is their policy its the last time I buy anything made by Whirlpool. After reading all the complaints registered here about Whirlpool I guess I am more than fortunate as my dishwasher (bought in 2006) had run great until their plug fell out (Great except for all the rinse aid that has leaked out for several years.).

The Weatherization program installed a whirlpool refrigerator in our home in October 2012. The fridge is less than 2 years old and the blower fan went out. We lost most of our food (what wouldnt keep in a cooler) and my daughters insulin spoiled. When they put this fridge in, they took our old one saying it was less efficient. Now we are stuck with a fridge that doesnt work and is out of warranty at less than 2 years old. We have left several messages for a Whirlpool representative to call us back and here we are, one week later, and no call back. This is frustrating because although the fridge we had may not have been as energy efficient, I am almost certain that it would still be working. I have never heard of a fridge that lasts less than 2 years. Also, we know that the blower fan must be a common problem because they are back-ordered approx. one month. We checked online, and called local businesses and not one place has the part available.I think we at least deserve a call back considering how stressful this has been on us. I had just spent all of my grocery money for the month, and 70% of it went bad and had to be thrown away. Money is tight for us and replacing spoiled food is not an option. Also, the insurance company denied our request to refill my daughters insulin a little early. Without proper refrigeration the insulin goes bad. The insurance doesnt replace lost or spoiled medication. Guess we get to pay for that too! Thanks so much Whirlpool! Ill be sure and highly recommend your products to my friends. (NOT GONNA HAPPEN.)

Purchased this Upright freezer model 160NZTQ02 approximately 2 years ago. Freezer had problems maintaining temperature from the beginning. Noticed it freezing up at air vents in back of interior. Unplugged, removed contents, and let defrost by ambient temperature (approximately 4 hours). After using this method for first three defrost periods (approximately two weeks apart) I began defrosted with hair dryer, then moved on to heat gun. Bottom line is this junk wont hold temperature and freezes up every few days to a week. No more Whirpool for me.

We bought this set from a hometown store, had them 6 months and all belts on dryer had to have the belt on the dryer replaced, then 2 months later the washing machine went out, so the store did replace both and weve had them about 3 month. The dryer works great so far, the washing machine on the other hand not good at all! The tray where the detergent goes continues to have mold/mildew in it, the clothes come out of wash cycle smelling soured. We have this set inside and we keep our temp set on 67 in our home. There is no excuse for all the problems, not to mention that noise it makes when it washes!! I am completely disgusted!!

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool washing machine only 2 yrs ago. Rather than lasting upward of 10 yrs with normal use as advertised, the machine is nothing more than a giant wash tub. It doesnt Drain and Spin properly. The clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle and I have to either attempt to wring all items by hand or set the machine to Drain and Spin for a second time. Now, it no longer agitates the clothes during either the wash or the rinse. I am SO disappointed in this and very angry that I trusted this well known brand with my hard-earned money. I am also angry at myself for not reviewing internet posts as I am hearing the exact same experiences by others time and again.

We purchased commercial washing machines for our building, we discovered that the clothes were coming out of the machines with dry spots and partials of soap. When we asked the dealer about this they sent a tech. to check the machines. It seems that these machines do not allow a adequate amount of water into the tub to wash the clothes. Only 6 or 7 inches of water is not enough water to wash a full load. When asked how this can be fixed I was told it cant be fixed. I was told this is a energy saving machine, which means you can only wash very small loads! What is the point of running a machine for twice the amount of time to do what you used to do in one load? Had we known this before purchasing what we felt was a quality machine, we are now stuck with machine not capable of doing what is required of them. When asked if they would take the machine back, no is all they say. I would never buy any product made by Whirlpool or Maytag because of the way this problem of ours has been handled. We purchased these machines from Prestige appliance, they have been good, but with no support from Whirlpool.

It is very frustrating!!! I would not recommend buying a Whirlpool oven/range. Low quality construction, features that work poorly, and poor online reviews. Another deal breaker would be poor customer service and repair service. Over, the Whirlpool oven/range is fair. Bought a French door whirlpool gold, wanted a good long lasting fridge. Bought in late 2011. After having it a couple of weeks we noticed the ice maker would take days to make ice. So we called to have it looked at. The repairman said if it is slow, switch it to fast ice. It made ice even slower, but the repair company said if it is making ice, and he comes out, we would be charged. So we lived with it. In 2014 it stopped making ice at all. We called they sent someone out and said it was a control board. They had to order it, and came back a week later to put it in. They left and said we would have ice soon. Never did!!!So we call again, they come out and said no power to ice maker. He called Whirlpool and they said wires in the freezer door were worn and broke. Well the door is non-serviceable and the cost of the door will exceed the price of the fridge! What kind of crap is that!! Long story short I will never buy another whirlpool again, and when I hear of someone buying new appliances I warn them to stay away from whirlpool!!! Run!!!

Having spent over RS 40000 on a so-called quality product one does not expect to spend nearly 20000 within the first two years of the purchase. 1. As soon as the warranty got over the PCB (costing 3000) broke down. 2. This replacement had a 3 MONTH warranty. Exactly after 9 months again the PCB breaks down along with leakage of gas. The service team asks us to buy a stabilizer to ensure that no such issues occur as they attribute these breakdowns to voltage fluctuations which are not of any precedence in Delhi. Also the product I am using was sold to me as a stabilizer-free working. 3. I made the suggested investments 4 months later the fan and motor of the freezer stop working. Imagine so much repair work on a new equipment. I have been writing to them yet all that they say in response is we are looking into the matter. NO ONE SHOULD BUY WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATORS.

I am a working single man. I needed a used washer. I shopped the new washers but they were a lotta money. I seen many of them were without agitators. Well heck... who am I to judge the progress in technology?? So, going around to the used appliance store I run across this Whirlpool Cabrio. OK, Whirlpool meant quality my entire life. So, I bought it. MASSIVE MISTAKE!!! This POS is no washing machine. I dont know what it is, but it is NO washing machine! It is a machine that runs a very few gallons of water into a load of clothes and makes them wet, and that is about it!!All I know is the federal government is dropping the ball on this situation BIG TIME!! To allow a company to foist off on consumers such a PILE OF JUNK!! The pile of crap is PURE junk as far as simply doing its job... washing clothes!! It is a DISGRACE of an American product, and I will NEVER buy anything made by Whirlpool the rest of my life!!I took the device off the lid that tells it when the lid is closed, and just stuck it in its receptacle in the body... so I could raise the lid while it is running and watch this POS in action and try and figure out what the hell is going on. First big problem is it NEEDS an agitator!! Obviously Whirlpool had not figured out how to make the clothes circulate without one. Second is the water level (no matter what cycle setting) is obscenely LOW!! The clothes do not circulate AT ALL, and about 1/3 of them do not even get below water level for the entire cycle!! What I am forced to do is use a water hose and run a lot more water off into the tub just to get the clothes in the damn water!! And ever at that, the clothes still do not circulate AT ALL!! They just rub up against each other!! And I have to use twice as much soap than called for!!

It worked well up until recently when we noticed some brown splatters on the floor. Shortly after it made a loud noise like a plane taking off and the load would become unbalanced. We researched and found many people were having issues with the bearings going bad. My husband was going to order parts to fix it but you have to have a special tool that is expensive to buy... On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

Their water heater is the worst ever! I will never buy another Whirlpool product. We purchased our water heater on January 17, 2010. We had to have the entire electronic system replaced in August 2011, including the lower element, control unit, thermisol, and electronic. Now, just a few short months later, the system is not working again, plus, the containment unit failed, flooding our basement. When we called Whirlpool, we were treated callously and rudely. Now, we have to pay to have the old unit removed, and a new one installed (they told us to throw it in our trunk and return it to Lowes, as if). Why did we pay to have this warranty when both the product, and the warranty are junk? Never, ever again! While Im at it, I should add that our range, and refrigerator are also made by Whirlpool, and those too, are pieces of junk. I guess were bucking up, and scheduling a new installation. If there are any further problems, I will be contacting an attorney.

Weve owned a Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher for about seven years. There has not been a year that has passed that we have not had to place a service call with a local service provider. The fuse box (which is amazingly a self-contained, enclosed, black box) has blown twice, has to be completely replaced, and costs over $180. The second time it broke, I ordered, paid for, and had delivered the replacement part only to find out that the broken part suddenly started working again. (I guess Ill have the $180 part for the next time it breaks.) To suggest that this product is junk is an understatement. It will be replaced very shortly.

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

It locks down to where you cant get in it for too long of a period of time. I am a really busy person, and HATE this, but if that were the only issue, I could accept that. We live on a farm and our clothes get really soiled especially in the warmer months. I like to pre-soak white clothes, NOT happening with this machine!!! It ends the cycle after about 30 minutes so I have to start over, wasting water. But the main issue is the machine tries to level the clothes, or whatever it is doing on its own before filling with water. I wash a lot of clothes!!! I am going to say that 90% of the loads of clothes that I have washed with this machine have been off balance, banging around bad. I then have to wait for it to unlock so that I can pull out the dripping wet clothes and replace to try and get it balanced. I am 59 years old, I got married at 14. So Ive been washing clothes for a LONG time... This machine is junk to say the least. I recently house sat for family. They purchased a new GE washer and dryer a little bit before I got these, wonderful machines!!! I washed dog beds, sheets, blankets and tons of clothes during this time. WOW, I had forgot that washing clothes didnt have to be torture. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. This washer has exhausted me. I purchased it at Lowes on tunnel rd in Asheville, NC. Please, if you havent already, junk this design... Its gonna lose your loyal customers. This complaint has nothing to do with where I purchased it. I did not contact the store as they did not design the machine. I did NOT want to pay for service on a poorly designed product...

If you are in the market for a new refrigerator, STAY AWAY from Whirlpool Top Freezer models. Mine just failed after only 5 years and Whirlpool will NOT do a thing about it, except ask, Did you buy the extended warranty? The compressor in my refrig was made in Mexico by a company called Embraco. I used to work for Whirlpool and these compressors were garbage then, and I guess still are, in my opinion. The 5 year sealed system warranty was removed from these refrig years ago and I can only assume this is why. If you want the 5 year SS warranty, buy a side by side or French door model. Just be sure it doesnt have an Embraco compressor on it! And while I am not a believer in them, planned obsolescence dictates you probably should buy the extended warranty/service plan for such a purchase. Dont rely on positive past experience, even for a company like Whirlpool. Their gold ring of promise emblem is very tarnished for me now.

The oven was set at 400 degrees. Several oven mitts were stacked in the drawer. There was no major damage done to the range, other than a bit of discoloration to the white trim, but we will never put anything in the drawer under the oven and would advise others to do the same.

I agree with the comments already made. My crisper drawer plastic rectangular piece just literally decomposed! It shredded into little pieces and cracked and broke, dropping one side of the draw set. I called about it - nope, not under warranty - replacement cost? Merely $150 so my drawers could be in the refrigerator. Also, because of the stress of the angle the drawer holder was when it broke, it cracked the drawer at the back - and the drawer had one grapefruit in it at the time. (Not considering replacing - cant imagine what that would cost when the little brace piece approx 14 was so expensive.) The flap - yeah, it split. I am a single person, no kids EVER in my refrigerator and I travel so much that I am barely home 20% of my days. The refrigerator gets very little activity opening and closing the doors yet the flap sliced. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN??? With any break in the seal as they called it, the refrigerator starts collecting moisture inside (and I live in the desert so we have very little moisture in our air) and drips or starts causing frost build up on the icemaker. Yesterday, once again, the icemaker stopped working. When I asked about replacing the flap I was told the entire seal needed to be replaced @ the cost of $232 PER DOOR!! Right now with just the plastic rectangular piece and the bar between the two drawers (BTW the rollers on the frame are not included with the frame purchase they announced) I have $614 in repair parts WITHOUT fixing the icemaker! Last night water was running in my refrigerator from the icemaker. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND WHIRLPOOL TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. I have been a Whirlpool ONLY customer for over 45 years!!!! They told me that I had to schedule an appointment with a service person at a minimum of $100 cost to me - JUST TO FILE A COMPLAINT with Whirlpool! They only take complaints from service people submissions. I advised the Whirlpool representative to start looking for another job because if this was the way they treated lifelong customers, her job may be eliminated due to No Customers! Does Whirlpool seriously NOT CARE about their customers? #WhirlpoolSux #WhirlpoolRefrigeratorsAreMoneyPits #WhirlpoolDoesntWantCustomers #WhirlpoolDeservesToGoOutOfBusiness #DontBuyWhirlpool #WhirlpoolFrenchDoorRefrigeratorsHorrible #NoServiceFromWhirlpool #WhirlpoolDoesntStandBehindProducts

This thing is pretty and has lots of bells and whistles, but that is where it ends. I am very surprised to find out that Whirlpool put such a piece of junk out for purchase. I have owned Whirlpool products in the past and had great performance and quality. I purchased a Whirlpool electric range 18 months ago. Recently, the oven started overheating. The display reads Fault detected. Press start to clear. Pressing start did nothing and the oven door was locked as though it was in the self-clean cycle. We had to trip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off and allow the door to open. The food inside was ruined. After three episodes in one week, I scheduled a service call through the Whirlpool website. When the repairman came, he determined the electronic circuit board was faulty. His suggestion was that I buy a new stove since the repair would cost $425 (the part itself was $280). Not wanting to replace a stove that wasnt 2 years old, I went ahead with the repair. I called Whirlpool to lodge a complaint and although the customer service rep was polite, he basically told me that all electronic appliances fail sooner or later and the company will not stand behind this appliance because its out of its 12-month warranty and I didnt buy the extended warranty. He also told me the company doesnt have any record of this being a common problem or excessive complaints about these ranges. But I see many people on this site with the same problem. I wish I had read this site before I bought this stove. Since I cant afford to replace my appliances every year and a half, this will certainly be my last Whirlpool.

I have dt3 rental houses I keep Whirlpool appliances in. But I wont be buying any more. I had to call the repair man one month after I bought it. He had to recalibrate the machine. Ive never considered writing a complaint before, but feel it is necessary in this situation. I have had my Whirlpool refrigerator since November, 2007. It has worked great until this past April when the freezer began to overfreeze, cause frost and ice to build up. I have had Whirlpool Factory Service out to repair the unit twice a month since April with still no resolution and the appointments are getting harder and harder to get someone to come out in a timely fashion. I called on September 1st and the closet appointment is September 15th. They werent even able to book the appointment when I called. I was told someone would call back within 3/4 days. When I didnt hear back today, I called to find out an appointment was set.Ive called the Resolution Team to obtain back records of service but havent been successful in receiving a phone call or email. I havent received all of the follow up emails after service which is frustrating since there have been two technicians that have come out for repair and were not provided any history on the unit. If I had the follow up emails, I would be able to share that information with them.I contacted Customer Service to find out what I can do in regards to the issue I am having and was told its best to stay with the service provider that I began with since they are familiar with the issue. I would imagine if they are familiar with the issue that it should have been fixed by now. Ive also sent a response card back to Whirlpool Home Appliances at the Survey Response Center and havent heard anything from them either. When I called to follow up there wasnt anyone that could point me in the right direction to obtain answers. They were able to provide me with the mailing address for Consumer Affairs though. Ive been told numerous times that if it gets to a point it costs too much to fix they will replace the unit. Im not sure when that decision is made. I have an extended contract and will extend it again in October when it expires. I just want the unit fixed or replaced. Its been since April with the same issue. Very disappointed consumer.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer brand new from Lowes. It did great for about 6 months when a terrible grinding noise started. Then it also would not spin dry the clothes - they would come out completely soaked. Repair guy came out and fixed it. Lasted for about 1 year - same thing again. Lasted about 1.5 years this time and now the loud grinding is back and my wife - who Ive heard cuss just a couple times in 20+ years - said, This ** thing sucks. The clothes are soaked. I cant stand this washing machine. So, Off we go to buy a new machine. Definitely not a Whirlpool though. Id give this machine 1 star because it does a decent job for a while but major repairs 3 times in five years is not what I deem an acceptable appliance.

Bought this washer NEW 4 yrs ago. Now sounds like a freight train in the house when in use. Whirlpool customer service is absolutely USELESS!!! They do not stand behind their product and refuse to acknowledge what is a common issue. PISS POOR and will NOT give me a number to a higher up. Absolute disgrace!!!UPDATED ON 10/28/2015: This is an update to my previous review. 1st, I contacted Whirlpool who was absolutely NO help whatsoever and the person I spoke to refused to put me through to higher ups on the food chain. I was wrong in my previous review when I stated that we purchased the washer & dryer 4 yrs ago. It was purchased in January 2012. Started making noise in 2014 and has progressively turned into the sound of a freight train. I also failed to mention the stench that comes from this machine. It has also got to the point where it quits with 10 minutes to go in every wash. Whirlpool did send out a Whirlpool certified technician, which they paid for, who stated this has been a common issue with these and other models of Whirlpool Cabrio wash machines. Says in his 3 yrs with the company he has seen and diagnosed over 30 machines with basically the same issues (bearings are SHOT) and Whirlpool refuses to accept any responsibility for the defective design and that, in his opinion, they shouldve never been released. He gave me an estimate of $257.13 to repair. We decided to go ahead with the repair and technician came out only to tell me that there has been a re-work in the design of the replacement parts as Whirlpool realized they were faulty. So I now have to wait for the NEW designed replacement parts to come in as they are back ordered. WTF does that mean??? Shouldnt there be a RE-CALL and shouldnt they accept responsibility for this??? This has been, without a doubt, the most disappointment weve had with any purchase of a NEW appliance or, anything else for that matter, in our lives. After reading through some of these same complaints Im wondering if this machine is nothing, but a money pit and whats going to go wrong next. We also purchased the Cabrio dryer at the same time and have had no issues with it as of this time, but I assure you, I wait with baited breath. Their customer service department is piss poor AT BEST!! Please, stay away from ALL Whirlpool appliances in the future.

I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

Just purchased Whirlpool top load large capacity washing machine with no agitator at Lowe’s three months ago. I sit at the kitchen table in my freshly washed exercise clothes and smell body odor. There were six exercise items in the load and supposedly enough soap. The load washed for 45 minutes last evening. Yard work clothes washed yesterday are not clean. I had to remove grass from the bottom of the tub. When I iron my smocks for work, since I work with animals, I pick pet hair off of them as I iron. Judging from other reviews, this torture won’t last long, before I need to replace this piece of junk. My last washer lasted 20 years. If it didnt leak water, it would still be running. Thanks Whirlpool, I guess the joke is on me!

They set an appointment for next Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. Said ok.Was making so much noise, and no longer freezing everything so call said company. Lady was very rude, and said they would not be out on Tuesday but sometime the following week. This would not work for us so called another repair shop, said they would be out. I purchased a Whirlpool Washing Machine in November, 2015 and today, I had a repair person out who said the bearing had ruptured and the washing machine cannot be repaired - 2 1/2 years later. Contacted Whirlpool Customer Service who would do nothing other than try to explain to me that I should have purchased an extended warranty as they could not stand behind the machine past the one year. Would not even offer sending a tech out on their dime to confirm what my repairman had said that this is a failed production process of these machines - it was nothing that I had done caused this issue. But yet they wanted to sell me another machine. It will be a cold day before I purchase another Whirlpool product.I was shocked at the lack of customer service to assist with a situation that both the location I purchased it from and my own repair tech said that they are seeing so often with these machines. I would never purchase another item from Whirlpool again nor would I recommend any of their items. I will go to great lengths to give others the background on how Whirlpool will not stand behind their products, lack of customer service to resolve a situation or can work outside of what is given to them to correct a situation - this is not OK!

Purchased this 27 cubic ft French door bottom freezer fridge (WRF757SDEM01)
Purchased this 27 cubic ft French door bottom freezer fridge (WRF757SDEM01) in Sep 2016. Approximately 8 months after, fridge stopped cooling. Called Whirlpool for service diagnosis since fridge was still under warranty. Service tech stated coils were freezing over due to part malfunction and part needed to be replaced and ordered. He provided me with a temporary fix by defrosting all the ice from the coils since the part would take approximately two weeks to come in. I spent an entire day of annual leave from my place of employment for this service call!!! New part was replaced and fridge was cooling like it was supposed to.Here again six months after the part replacement, my fridge was doing the same thing again; NOT COOLING my food AND there was this awful noise coming from the area in which the part was replaced. That drove me CRAZY to the point I would turn it off in short increments to maintain my sanity. I called whirlpool AGAIN, and this time, my fridge is NOW out of warranty, BUT, the replacement part of five months prior should still be in warranty. My fridge failed the day after Thanksgiving and five days after the fact, the service tech will be at my house again.Worst part of this is I took an entire day off work expecting the service tech to come between 8-12 as told to me by the whirlpool customer service rep and guess what? The company called at 1000 and said they only do appointments in my area in the evenings. I was furious; again another day of employment missed at the hands of Whirlpool. I am not confident that the same part that was replaced in May is defective and I may be going through spouts of an inoperable fridge again and again. Whirlpool really needs to take a hard look at recalling these fridges OR providing quality appliances for the money that we pay. I had GE appliances in my old house and NEVER had issues with the refrigerator. My new builder choose whirlpool and made the wrong choice! I just want a refrigerator that will work operate for the $2100.00 that I paid. I will NEVER recommend whirlpool appliances to anyone... Never!!!
