We own a Whirlpool microwave hood combination. The door started cracking where the handle attaches. Ordered a new door and installed in July 2017. 18 months in the door and the handle have both started to crack again. This seems to be a problem with Whirlpool microwaves but they wont stand behind their product. Theyll send someone out to replace it for $$$$ but they wont admit they have a flawed product. One year warranty - no exceptions. Will have to replace the microwave and it wont be Whirlpool!

Whirlpool Cabrio drain problem - I never had a washing machine that lets so much through to the drain pump. I replaced pump three times already. First of all, if you put anything with buttons in this machine, you can kiss it goodbye. This machine destroys clothes then lets buttons and coins and whatever through to destroy the fins on the discharge pump. When is the BBB going to do something about this consumer ripoff?

Extremely disappointed!! We purchased this water heater about 4 years ago and for the past year we have to manually turn on the burner. Its been a nightmare! We called Lowes to purchase the parts, but they do not sell the parts. There was a nine year warranty. Our last water heater lasted about 11 years. Its such a shame that this one is giving us problems just after 3 years. Im really considering just buying another one. I dont want to continue struggling with this one. Its been a bad purchase and coming to find out that Im not the only one with this problem. If its a defect Whirlpool should at least replace them for the inconvenience. They should take responsibility for selling defective products.

It has needed a new motor, new tub assembly, and about six other repairs. Now the heavy duty tub just thumps around and I get an uneven load message, even when running empty. It is the worst single machine I have ever purchased, with the possible exception of the Whirlpool matching dryer, which lasted about three years.

The microwave was easy to install above the stove and it has the exhaust fan conveniently hidden out of site underneath it. The cost was very low and it is not complicated to set up and use. I also like the fact of not having countertop space taken up by having the microwave sitting on it.

I have had this machine (Indesit IWDE126 Washer/Dryer) for a very short time; the washer is great. It does a 20 minute daily wash which is good however the dryer part screws up everything you put into it and ironing, even with steam, makes no difference at all. The WORST part is the organisation DONT CARE. I wrote to the Chief Executive, Jeff Fettig, who neither acknowledged my complaint or responded to it. I made this complaint in October 2016 and STILL do not know what the outcome is. If you are reading this review I honestly would look elsewhere for a better machine. Try MIELE. They are expensive but 2000% better.

This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

I have had this Whirlpool Cabrio washer for 4 years. I had to rebuild the drive unit once and now the control board is bad. If I didnt do my own repairs I would have spent well over the cost of the washer in the 4 years I have owned it. This is the worst washer on the market. Not to mention Whirlpool support will not work with you at all. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Washer MOD WTW4800XQ2 - I purchased this washer about 2 years ago after my 15 year old washer died. I have always used Whirlpool appliances as well as my Mother that recommended Whirlpool to me some 40 years ago. I knew when this machine was delivered and set up that I was in for change. It locks down to where you cant get in it for too long of a period of time. I am a really busy person, and HATE this, but if that were the only issue, I could accept that. We live on a farm and our clothes get really soiled especially in the warmer months. I like to pre-soak white clothes, NOT happening with this machine!!! It ends the cycle after about 30 minutes so I have to start over, wasting water. But the main issue is the machine tries to level the clothes, or whatever it is doing on its own before filling with water. I wash a lot of clothes!!! I am going to say that 90% of the loads of clothes that I have washed with this machine have been off balance, banging around bad. I then have to wait for it to unlock so that I can pull out the dripping wet clothes and replace to try and get it balanced. I am 59 years old, I got married at 14. So Ive been washing clothes for a LONG time... This machine is junk to say the least. I recently house sat for family. They purchased a new GE washer and dryer a little bit before I got these, wonderful machines!!! I washed dog beds, sheets, blankets and tons of clothes during this time. WOW, I had forgot that washing clothes didnt have to be torture. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. This washer has exhausted me. I purchased it at Lowes on tunnel rd in Asheville, NC. Please, if you havent already, junk this design... Its gonna lose your loyal customers. This complaint has nothing to do with where I purchased it. I did not contact the store as they did not design the machine. I did NOT want to pay for service on a poorly designed product...

I bought the Cabrio Platinum Set approximately 3 yrs ago. These is the worst products I have bought ever. The dryer didnt dry properly since day 1 w/the energy saver setting. I have always had to run a time dry in order to get properly dried clothing. Sometimes things still come out damp. The washer well the washer as I said the WORST product EVER. Approximately 3 yrs old and it leaks all over my laundry room unless surrounded by towels to suck up the water. During the wash it has the worst smell ever. And while spinning it jumps around and is so loud, you can hear it all through my 3 story home. We have complained we have written, emailed, called and have been offered nothing. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again ever. The least they could do is stand by their product. For the price of this set it should have lasted much much longer. I had a Kenmore washer and dryer set that we bought it was not even top of the line I would say probably a cheaper model of theirs that lasted 10+ yrs we bought it brand new and my friend bought it when I changed to a front loader which by the way was one of the cheaper ones but was still better than this piece of **. It started breaking about 1 yr after we bought it. We have already fixed a few things but will not spend another dime on it. Now its not even cleaning. I now have to buy yet another washer. From what I have read either Whirlpool needs to up their game or just go out of business.

We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher when we learned that my daughter and two children would be living with us for an extended time. We bought it a couple of months before they came. During that time I used it maybe four or five times as there are only two of us and didnt need to use it. Since they arrived in early June, the dishwasher malfunctioned almost immediately. Talking with their representative was useless and frustrating. The only words she seemed to know were circuit breaker. That is where the conversation started and ended despite my assurances that it had nothing to do with a circuit breaker. We wrangled round and round to no avail. This company used to be an American standard. Now it is a class A maker of junk.

I had one of the first Maytag Neptunes. Loved it to pieces but finally had a problem and my beloved repair guy said it was almost 20 years old so to give up and move on. Obviously, cant be without a washer for very long so grabbed this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer. One of the biggest disappointments ever! Clothes come out streaked and splotched, dont smell very fresh or clean even straight after having been washed, stains dont come out even with pre-treating, have to run everything on heavy duty, whites are getting grayer by the week, and all-around horrid performance.Im ready to give up my Starbucks, start packing my lunches for a couple months, skip whatever treats I have to in order to get back to a quality machine that can actually WASH CLOTHES. I wondered exactly what it was or wasnt doing so I stood over it for half an hour. Initially, it loads up about a gallon of water and then spits it out over the rotating drum of clothes. Then it stops and spins that water out. I suspect the design logic was that it would force that gallon of water thru the clothes taking some dirt out with it. It repeats that stupid process several times. Then it finally gets a few inches of water in the bottom and the vestigial agitator tries to move it around.I watched one hand towel lie on top like a dead weasel, never getting pulled down or pushed out or whatever it was supposed to do to get down among the other items and squish together. Life throws me everything from sick kids spewing body fluids to people coming home reeking of hydraulic and other industrial fluids. When I say clean I mean CLEAN. This piece of junk couldnt satisfactorily process half a dozen dust rags. Neptune, Im coming back with my hat in my hand and a whole new appreciation!

I am so unhappy with my Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer. The clothes get so tangled and twisted that it stretches my sweaters totally out of shape. There is not enough water on any of the cycles that really clean your clothes. I saved my money so I could get something energy efficient and look great in my new laundry room. I would never recommend this product. Your sheets will not come clean because they ball up in the middle of the washer and come out partly dry. I have had this set for 3 years and now the bearing is gone; it leaks from the bottom and throws grease all over my new floor. I have battled the horrible odor since the second month. It smells so bad that I make sure I dont wash the day I have guest over. I am so disappointed and mad at myself for not reading any reviews before I spent my hard earned money. So here I am now 3 years into my ownership and having to spend more money on a defective product. The sad part is that I really thought I was getting something nice that would last me and my husband for years. There are only two of us in our household. This machine does not work properly; now it is broken, but hey it really looks good.

I have an oven hood Whirlpool Microwave. Even though its more of a basic model it has worked terrific so far at about 5 years old. Only draw back is the extremely loud 4 beep alarm upon completion of warming up food. I actually cringe when it is about to go off especially early in the morning. Ours doesnt have the handy options button to turn it off. I have tried other combos with the buttons to see if they have it set up different but to no avail. Does anyone know if you can shut it off. The people who design these things must not have babies because they would think of this at nap time Im sure. Truly the sound this thing emits could wake the dead! I also had the fancy Whirlpool before like some folks mentioned about the handle and door frame cracking and disintegrating. Guess what, so did my parents, sisters, aunts and my neighbors. Definitely a major design flaw or faulty materials. My sister, mom got new doors and they began cracking again within a year!

I purchased Whirlpool Slide-In 30 Gas SS Conventional Range. Terrible product quality. After about three years of use, the range shows an error message cooling fan is too low. I wasnt able to use the oven. Abt Services came in to do the repair. One month after the cooling fan was installed, the same message came up again. When Abt Services replaced the cooling fan again, the display was completely out. The cost of the repair parts is over $800. Are you kidding me! I paid $1500 for the range. Now I need to pay $800 to repair. Whirlpool didnt offer any discount for repairing the defective product but offered purchase similar product at a discount price. Washing Machine Model WTW4616FW - I purchased this machine at Home Depot after I had to return my Samsung Costco machine that was recalled due to the glass top flying off. I was attracted to it by its simplicity in design and price. I have had it almost a full year and love it. I like that it has the deep water wash for over-sized items and a full-sized agitator. My Whirlpool washer would start up but would not add any water. It sat there doing absolutely nothing. Then it showed a code on the screen. It said to disconnect the power for 1 minute and plug it back in, which I did. I repeated that process several times. Still nothing. It also said to call Whirlpool, which I did. They wanted the Model # WFW97HEXLO and Serial #, I gave it to the gal on the phone at Whirlpool. I was told it would be a week before they could get someone out there to take a look at it. Really!! I work 80 hours a week and live in the country. I dont have a week. When I asked where the service man was coming from, he was coming from another town. I asked if there was someone closer. She gave me another appliance stores phone number. They showed up 2 business days later, looked at my washer, verified the code along with the Model and Serial #s, telling me it was the control panel. I gave that information to them on a Friday, they showed up on a Tuesday. They knew what that code was and what it meant for that make and model washer, but there just had to be a service call in there. The part was ordered on that Tuesday... here it is the following Saturday and the part still isnt here. I do not understand what takes Whirlpool so long to ship the part. Do they not care that in this hustle bustle life we live in, we dont have time to wait for a part that may or may not show up. Ship it overnight. That is an option. Making the parts accessible to the service people in a timely manner would make great customer-service. Better yet, how about going back to the old-style washers. This high-efficiency non-sense is highly expensive.

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

How would you like to be without a refrigerator for 10+ days? How do you justify 10 days without a service tech being available for what I call an emergency! Either you need to hire more technicians or make BETTER products. My suggestion is have a supervisor go out to a call first and access the problem. My case, a tech shows up after waiting 10 days, to tell me my refrigerator needs all the parts. Which means Ill have to wait probably another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive. Im sure the parts werent ordered to be expedited. Im beyond furious. We lost everything in our freezer. Doesnt stay frozen in coolers. When we purchased the refrigerator, just under two years ago, the service tech was out three separate times because our ice maker kept going on the blink. Finally, I purchased ice maker, because your refrigerator only makes ice when it wants. Not reliable! Second problem, the lights in refrigerator & freezer went out. Real smart to install LED lights that can only be replaced by a technician. Insane for the consumer. (Cost of lights replaced w/o warranty contract is $100). DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ENJOY MISERY!!Why would you put glossy black finish on front of refrigerator, and the sides have black texture, where you cant see fingerprints. Has to be cleaned daily! Hope you can rectify the problem before two more weeks pass. Model: WRS322FDAB. SERIAL#: HR72710418. Not a fan of your lemon of refrigerator. In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. I will never buy another Whirlpool ever! You would think a company would care about their customers but they dont. They make their stuff cheap and charge an outrageous price.

My dishwasher is more than 10 years old. It functions but the interior baskets have broken and because my counter overhangs a couple of inches from the dishwasher the steam from the dishwasher has damaged the underside of the counter. It cleans ok but I would not buy this kind of dishwasher again.

These products (Dishwasher, refrigerator, cooktop, and wall ovens) are less than 5 years old and everyone of is in of repair. The cooktop and wall ovens the repair on them would equal the price of a new one. I feel that the products should last more just a few years and also their warranties. This tells me they do not stand by quality of their products.

Whirlpool sent out a repairman to fix my range. I had it for 3 years, and one day I was baking cookies in the lower range and boiling water for pasta on the top left burner. There was a very loud pop, a bright flash in the glass top where the back left burner is, then there was no power to the range or oven at all. No clock display, burners would not work, oven would not work, nothing. As if it were unplugged. Of course, my warranty was about to expire in approximately 6 days (go figure) so I called the customer service line for repair. After 2 hours of back and forth with 3 different people, I finally had a technician coming out 4 days later. He shows up, takes about 35 minutes to get the glass top off, then says to me that he needs to order a part for it. This will take a few days. Ugh. Fine. 3 days later, part comes in. Same guy comes back out, fixes it. Ok.Up and running fine for about a year and 2 months. Then... POP! It happens again. Same scenario, different menu. (I was cooking breakfast). Now, warranty has run out and I have a $1,300 piece of scrap metal sitting in my kitchen. Worthless. My old KitchenAid stove was great. Had that thing for 13 years. Never a problem outside of replacing a $68 heating element one time. I paid $450 for that range. Tossed it out for this bells and whistles newer stainless steel glass top range/double oven. Regretting that tremendously. Whirlpool will be on my do-not-buy list for any appliance from now on. Didn’t even last 5 years. Oh did I mention the service call cost me $85? Yeah... Garbage!

We bought this Whirlpool two door side by side refrigerator freezer at Lowes at what seem like a good deal, until the problems start. On the refrigerator side everything freezes just as solid as the freezer side. We get to looking and find there is no air filter/damper installed. Try to call Whirlpool and you can forget it. 37 Minutes wait time, then a recording comes back and says now your wait time is 47 minutes, long story short you just get put on hold. No help what so ever. Lowes did give us an air filter. But we still got rock solid fresh eggs in the refrigerator. So it was not such a great deal after all. My wife has one big headache and mad as a hornet at Whirlpool. Bet we dont buy another Fridge from them. If I were you Id stay away from Whirlpool products. Have a great day.

Now after just two, repeat, two months of use, there is water all over the hardwood floors... The front door seal is gone to the tune of $100 but what about my floors!!!!!! Im so discouraged after reading all the complaints that Im falling out of my chair. Seal design has been the same on most all their front loaders. DO NOT BUY A FRONT LOADING WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE. YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID. Yes they look pretty. My parents old top loader washer lasted over 35 years without a repair and we washed clothes for four people.

Cabrio he washer wtw6400sw2 - I bought this washer about 6 years ago at the time we paid around $900. Now my bearings went bad and the repair person told me it would cost around $300 to $400 to replace the bearings and seal and shaft but that I should call Whirlpool and see if they could replace the part or give me some discount cause it is becoming an issue with all the Cabrio washers. So I called and spoke with a so called manager - as far as I know it could of been a cleaning person there. She told me that she could not do nothing about the issue. So if a lawyer would be nice to help me and the rest of the world that are having all these issues to file a suit against Whirlpool Corp.

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio mod. WTW5600 XW2, ser. C12830447 he... H2O.. low wash system. Less than two years old. It does not get clothes or towels clean. I put 2 jackets in on bulky items and part of one of the jackets was still dry. They were two small childrens jackets. My husband and I wash as long as possible and on hot wash (which is not hot!). Should not take 70+ minutes to try & get normal clothes clean! Now the softener is draining into the wash with the detergent. Another service call. Learned you can only fill the softened bin half full or less. WHAT??? Our extended warranty is up soon and not sure what to do. We would like to get rid of this pile of junk but cant afford another washer bill. Also wouldnt want anyone else to get stuck with it. Its a shame a company cant put out #1 good product and #2 stand behind it. Bring all of the company production back to the USA or put out a better product and stop worshiping the almighty dollar. Im done with Whirlpool (which was the product to buy), but stuck with this washer for now until we are sure that the brand we buy performs as it should. What happened to the PRIDE in & RESPONSIBILITY of making a good product and standing by what youve made. As my hubby has said, if you have to buy an extended warranty, whats wrong with your product! Again worshiping the almighty dollar or is it you just dont care about the people who buy your product or its quality. Maybe both.P.S. Have contact you before without a response.

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner
Even with the hottest water on the most heavy duty setting, regular dinner plates are not cleaned. The flatware holders that are set in the door (instead of free-standing in a rack) do not have adequate holes in the holders and are too far away from the limited jets to get adequate soap and water to cleanse the flatware. Even after rinsing all scraps off the plates and flatware, we find bits of food, gravy, or smudges on the plates and flatware - since its first usage. The manufacturer had the audacity to claim that was normal. Settings include delayed starting, heavy duty versus normal washing, and different types of drying. The heavy duty washing is definitely poor quality, and there seems to be no difference between any of the drying settings. The delayed start is nice. The physical layout of the prongs on the racks and the folding racks do not allow easy fit for most sizes of pots plus plates on the same bottom rack. I cannot put a 1 gallon pot level on the same rack as dinner plates. I must put it beside salad plates. Only small sauce pans fit neatly or cleanly beside dinner plates. Yet the external dimensions of this dishwasher are the same as the competitors standard size. Looks neat and is easy to clean. Also, the exterior does not show scratches. Actually, I cannot see where the exterior has any scratches. The service people were very little help. The Warranty said that after five (5) service calls the unit would be replaced. We made six (6) service calls, but we were told that we did NOT have six because if you called again within 90 days of a call, that was considered the same service call. That requires 450 days minimum to have five (5) qualified service calls, but that warranty was good for only 365 days!

I purchased my Whirlpool French door refrigerator about 2 years ago. I shopped around and read reviews before deciding on the Whirlpool. After about 9-10 months the ice maker didn’t seem to produce enough ice. I called the store I purchased it at and tried to get them to come out and find out what was wrong. They waited and waited. I had to call them back at least 2 times before they finally sent someone. But by the time they sent someone to look at it the one year warranty had expired. I spent $1800.00 on this refrigerator and it didn’t even last longer than a year. Of course Whirlpool wanted to come look at it and charge me another $100.00 service call and possibly another $100.00 for parts and labor. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

We purchased our oven in February 2012. In April 2013, we began smelling gas. I called the gas company. They came within thirty minutes and determined the gas was coming from within the oven by using a gas detecting probe. The gas was turned off by the gas company. I contacted an appliance company who came out for $95.00 and used some type of spray looking device to check for leakage or bubbles to tell us we had no problem. Our warranty was only good for the one year. The appliance company ripped us off and Whirlpool was a bad deal. After reading of all the complaints of Whirlpool, I will not buy Whirlpool ever again. I will admit that the stove worked fine for the year. I was hoping for a longer life of this stove. Now, Im afraid to use it.

The only thing cheaply made is the push latch on the dryer. Both are pricey for what you get, I thought, though they were the cheapest Lowes offered. We have had the pair for a little over a year. So far no real problems, though we really do not like the latch door. You have to slam the door to get it to close. To do it over we would probably have shopped a little longer and for the same money got a better deal.

I would not, at this time, even really give this product 1 star, but that was the lowest rating allowable. We purchased a Whirlpool Gold French Door Refrigerator at Lowes a couple of years ago after our Amana was toasted by a close proximity lightning strike. (It got more than just our frig, but the replacement frig is the only item we have had issues with.) We even got the extended warranty thru Lowes for the unit. Shortly after the extended warranty expired we started having issues with the bottom freezer door icing up. We thought that possibly the grandkids had not shut the freezer. So we cleaned up the ice around the door, but the problem persisted. The ice cream in the freezer was rock solid, to get it out of the container you had to put it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. The items in the frig were also frozen. So we emptied the frig and freezer, unplugged the unit and let it sit for a couple of days with the doors all open. We then plugged it back in and hoped for the best. It seemed to be ok for a couple of days then the ice on the freezer door appeared again. At this point, I contacted Whirlpool to see who was a licensed repair company in our area. I contacted the licensed repair service, explained my issue, they got the model and serial number info and ordered what parts could conceivably be the culprits. The tech came, the unit was frozen up, all the vents in the freezer were showing icing. So he removed the back of the freezer compartment and thawed the unit out. At the same time I mentioned that the ice maker had quit working, he found that the wiring connection was not properly connected and fixed that while he had all the stuff out. After re-assembly he ran all the diagnostic tests Whirlpool lists and found everything passed. Since the boxes of parts had not been opened they could all be returned to stock. So no charge for parts, as he could not find indication that any were needed. So 1 service call at $100 and it appeared that maybe the issue was resolved, not the case. Not even a month later, issue re-occurred. No grandkids had been there, no instance of the freezer possibly left ajar. Another service call, and by the time the tech arrived, since I had unplugged the unit and emptied it again, all the frost/ice was melted. $100 for a service call, tests all came back as nothing indicated as not functioning. So if I dont put too much stuff in the freezer or too much stuff in the frig it will run without freezing up for about a month. Oh and weekly put it into the defrost mode a couple of times. Now it has started making a tic-tic-tic or rat-tat-tat sound to the fun and games. If the noise is non-stop, it only stops when you open the freezer door. Leading me to believe it is a fan. (Correct, I was told by the local Whirlpool licensed repair facility.) I have spent the weekend, again thawing out my unit in hopes that the noise will cease. It is loud enough to be heard at the other end of the house. No such luck, so I spent an unproductive 1-1/2 hours on a call to Whirlpool yesterday. The larger part of the time was on hold waiting to talk with someone, anyone. Due to our unusually high call volume, wait-time is long today. Thank you for your patience. To retain your place in line, do not hang up. Finally, I got a rep named Karen, who sounded like she was almost asleep. She had very little to offer except, Im sorry you are experiencing these problems. I have no record of previous complaints like yours on record for this model of our product.Hello, I found 929 reports of the same issue on Consumer Reports. Oh, you cant believe what you read on the internet was her response to that tidbit. She offered to sell me a Repair Plus 1 Plan for only $359.95. A licensed repair service comes, repairs your unit and the plan gives you ONE YEAR of peace of mind. Lets see... I said... so you are offering me an extended one year warranty? Oh, but it comes with a repair first then one-year peace of mind. Seems that Whirlpool has moved into selling warranty extensions rather than fixing the issues with these Whirlpool Gold French Door refrigerators. With what I have already paid for service calls added to this Repair plus 1 Plan, I would have invested $$$ enough to BUY A NEW FRIG that is not a Whirlpool product.Seems a bit foolish to me. So Whirlpool is not admitting that there is a design or manufacturing problem with these units. Even the ones sold just this year seem to have the same issue. They have not corrected this and it appears they have no intent to do anything about it. She did indicate that they had a known issue with the drain and that a fix was offered for that (a redesigned drain unit could be installed). But since I was not getting ice build up on the bottom of my freezer compartment I did not appear to need the redesigned drain unit. Her evaluation of my issue was that the drain did not appear to be a problem. So after a fruitless call to Whirlpool, oh and they did have my previous emails concerning my issues on file but did not consider my complaints to be part of a known issue, I have the local tech coming back to see if possibly there is something, anything to be done with this refrigerator. So another $100 at least, likely no resolution if the service tests all come up normal again! So when the tech comes, I am going to ask him to contact the service engineer that he is supposed to have the contact info for (per Karen at Whirlpool) and see if he can get any resolution to my issues by using that service engineer.

Bought a $2500.00 fridge in Dec. 2012. By July, we were dealing with our 4th repair. Customer service in warranty department is non-existent. They act like you are a bother and have no right to demand replacement. I sent an email. No response. I wrote a letter to Corporate. No response. Not until I made comments on Facebook. Then I get a call offering me an extended warranty (which I already had purchased) so they said they would give another year (total of 3). This was a few weeks ago. I still have yet to receive anything or hear anything. This morning, our fridge is on the fritz again. I am loathe to have to deal with them again, but have no choice. Its either deal with them or throw out the 8 month old unit and buy something else. I should not even have to consider that. Whirlpool is a huge company. I do not understand their reluctance to just replace a product that is obviously defective unless they have no confidence in a replacement unit. This is so frustrating and upsetting to me. I did my research. I thought I was getting a quality product from a quality company. What a disappointment.

Customer service was not very kind and said that I had to purchase a $269 warranty and they would send someone out. I did, unwillingly. Well see what happens on Friday. This $1,000+ Whirlpool Cabrio washer high-efficiency machine should have lasted between 10-15 years, not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5! To expect less is to fall for the consumer cave in - where you just give up, give in and buy another. The Whirlpool tech just told the appliance repair guy that was here that the repair would involve a recirculating water pump and a bearing, and would cost $481 to repair. The appliance repairman said he is not in business to condemn appliances, but said he has a Kenmore top loader at his house. Simple, no electronics and less things to go wrong. Well after researching brands and reading reports, I thought I was buying a machine that would last at least as long as my second hand Maytag. Whirlpool has not heard the end of me. I have heard several other people say the same thing. Repair bills are huge and machines do not hold up. So much for buying quality. Now Im going to contact the MA attorney general for the states implied warranty, which means if you spend your money on any appliance, that appliance has an expected lifetime of service. A $1,000+ machine is not expected to fall apart after a few years.

I purchased this Refrigerator Model #wrb322dmb, bottom freezer, 21cu ft. last year on July 3, 2015. In September I noticed rust spots on the top door. I called Home Depot where I purchased and they directed me to Whirlpool. I did purchase an extended warranty with Home Depot. Whirlpool did replace the top door. Thought that took care of it. Today one year and two weeks out of warranty, I again notice rust on both doors. Called Whirlpool. They said too bad out of warranty, not considering I had a previous report of this very same issue. So since I am very unsatisfied with this result and the fact that an expensive product is rusting, I decided to share to try to prevent someone getting stuck. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust which leads me to believe that it is not Stainless steel, but a Stainless Steel finish and not a very good one. So I am stuck with a rusting $1200.00 refrigerator only after one year. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but no more. They lost a 40-year customer. I have always bought American made but no wonder people are not buying American made any longer. TO SUM IT UP WHIRLPOOL STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES RUST! DO NOT BUY!

Purchased a Whirlpool double oven (WGE745COFH) in September 2018. It is now May 2019. After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous. So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

Its an IKEA double wall oven. Top oven is convection, bottom oven is regular. The cost was half of what a single wall oven was at other stores. It is very simple without a lot of fancy timers and extras. Its great for cooking a very large meal when you need two ovens or have recipes that need different temperatures. I was able to shop entirely online to the store in another city and have the wall oven delivered for minimal charge. I dont mind paying more for better quality, but it seems increasingly hard to find. I purchased my no-name double wall oven from IKEA in 2010 for around $1000. That was almost half the price of a name brand single wall oven. Apparently the oven is made by Whirlpool. Self clean option works well. You cant beat it for putting on a great big meal where items require cooking at different temperatures. Both ovens are full size so you could cook a giant turkey and a ham at same time. Never had a problem with it either.

This is the worst washing machine Ive ever purchased. Bought 12/19. The water level never never goes up high enough, to cover the cloths. I have to add water no matter what setting. I hate that. The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. The lid locks when the rinse cycle starts so I have to unlock the lid to add fabric softener. Why lock the lid so soon, wait till its in spinning mode. Really really badly designed!!!! Will never buy anything by Whirlpool ever again!

I bought my Whirlpool induction stove several years ago. We normally use a toaster oven for baking as we are only 2 in our home. Last year I decided to cook a large turkey for the family. I threw the turkey into the oven and started cooking it. After an hour or so I decided to start cooking the potatoes etc on the stovetop portion. My potatoes started cooking and my element shut down. I did everything I could to get it going but finally resorted to the manual to see if there was a suggestion. The suggestion was that the oven had heated the burners too high and that I had to shut off the burners and wait for 5 minutes and try again to use them. The oven was only cooking at 300F. I waited 15 mins to get it running again. The stovetop went out once again and I had to stop cooking. Conversely Ive had the same issue with the oven. Ive been cooking in the oven and have had it shut down as a way to address the stovetop being too hot. How am I suppose to cook on this unit with any kind of confidence? I did an online chat with a rep today and they suggested getting a technician over to the house. I was told I could pay $129 to have them look at it. This is obviously a design flaw that I was never told about prior to my purchase and would never have bought had I known. Shame on Whirlpool!

I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). I opened all the windows and went back to bed not sure since we never had gas before. Gas company came out that day and determined that the burners were bypassing gas. Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. This will be the LAST Jenn-Air purchase EVER!

We bought our Whirlpool washer and dryer set through a PX at Fort Hood, Texas. Took it home, plugged it in and... nothing. Called the service desk, and they sent a repairman right away. He replaced the panel and the water intake fuse (I think? It was a fuse that dealt with the water filling) and then we were off and running. I thought, Great! Now I can wash laundry! After about a couple months, the washer would be so stinking loud in the spin cycle, we would plan outside activities ha ha. Fast forward 2 years, the loud sound continues, but Ive not had any problems. Then, Im washing a load of bed sheets, and just happen to walk past the washer while its spinning... I smelled something HOT and BURNING! Sure enough, it was the washer! I hurried and stopped the spin and unplugged the machine. Opened the door to pull out my sheets, and white smoke comes pouring out of the machine. IT NEARLY STARTED A HOUSE FIRE. I was praising God I smelled the problem. Who knows what would have happened. So I call an appliance shop I trust. They send out a guy who tells me I might as well purchase a new machine because the bearing is bad, and the repair is going to cost $600+. Never again, Whirlpool. Never again. You dont endanger my familys safety in exchange for a quick buck on cheap parts. Ridiculous. And, now that I am reading all these reviews on this website about my washer, I am floored. How is there not a class action lawsuit against this company? Mold and fire-hazards are serious infractions, in my opinion.

I bought my Cabrio washer about 3.5 years ago. Little after the year, I had to replace the lid because the hinge broke. Then came the F1 code, which I noticed if you turn the machine off for a couple of minutes, it resets itself. About a week ago, it started making a grinding noise and staining the clothes with oil or grease. Transmission problems. I was told by the seller it had a 10 year warranty. I called them up and now I got to foot the bill for a technician to come to my house and tell me what I already know plus labor. Might as well buy a new one. Whirlpool Duet 2009 Model WFW9400SW02 - Worst experience ever with a new Whirlpool front Load washing machine. It broke down with error codes F28, F70, F71 13th month just after warranty and was leaking water. Bought 1 yr 153.00 Whirlpool extended warranty. Many reviews in internet have same complaint. Immediately had it repaired after waiting my 60 days to use warranty, but did not work after the door latch switch and one of 3 main circuit boards was replaced which was over $600.00. That was 2 visits. Fired them and had warranty company send different repair Co. They came twice with a cost of $840.00 and worked for 30 days and then had no power. 3rd repair company came out and wanted $350.00 to order part. I was offered $1195.00 cash or $1499.00 replacement top of line Whirlpool WFL98HEBU. Nice! But only 1 year warranty and I had to pay 200.00 shipping. I decided to take the money since I did not want to risk the break down on the new washer. The reviews on the new washer were not favorable with break down as the main complaint. 4 repairs in 1 year is lemon law on my warranty. My repairs were 4 in 45 days.

Unfortunately they tell me it’s out of the one year warranty process and they can’t help me. Well look like the 2nd replacement should have been under warranty still. Their products are a piece of crap and they know it and don’t care because theyre making money off of the consumers. Be aware and advise you to stay away from Whirlpool appliances. They don’t stand behind their brand. There’s no way anyone should have to be making repairs on a new 2000 and sum refrigerator. My old one is 18 yrs old and still working fine no problems, better than this piece of crap. Warning to consumers. Don’t waste your time and especially your money. Didn’t want to give no stars but you have to give at least 1.Original Review: Purchased refrigerator In July of 2017 and had to have ice maker replaced less than a year of having it. Now again ice maker not working again and only been about 9 months from the last replacement. I think there should be a Lemon law on these products. I have the Cabrio model WTW6400SW2. I have had it for 5 1/2 years and have been happy with it up until several months ago. The F1 would come up when the machine would lock and just start to fill. I could pause it and start it again, and it might do this 1 to 3 times. It would also do it on the rinse cycle. I have been using it because I did not want a repair bill right now. The machine was also starting to make noise when it was spinning. Well, I just happened to break my dryer yesterday so I thought I would get the washer fixed also. Well, the repairman said that the controller would cost $200 for the part, and then he said the pump roller and bearings were going. By the time you add on labor, he said, “You might want to buy a new one.” He told me that Whirlpool has completely changed the washer now because of all the problems with them. He told me to look it up on the computer, and maybe there would be a class action suit. After reading some of the reviews, I will not buy another Whirlpool again.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. This machine was my dream machine for about two years. Then the noise started during the spin cycle. It gradually got louder and louder, until it got so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. You could not be near the wash room and hear each other talk. Then it began to aggravate me with the UL flashing. I know how to load a washing machine. It was just a defect. Then it started making a grinding sound to add to the roaring spin noise. We were told that it would take over $500.00 to fix, so we just sat back and waited for it to die. Well, the other day it began to leak some water out of the bottom of the machine. Now today we are paying our last respects to a piece of junk that Whirlpool calls a washing machine! It is less than 5 years old. This was a $900.00 washer. There should be a recall. I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. On March 3, I purchased a dishwasher (Model: KUDE70FXSS1 Serial No.: F10202361) on Whirlpools VIP link, which will more likely be my last Whirlpool purchase based on the slightly damaged product and incredibly poor customer service Ive received. Upon delivery of the dishwasher on March 9, I noticed that the left rear wheel was damaged and slightly bent. I also noticed that the unit was a little off balance. But the delivery person explained to me that everything was okay and that the front legs just needed to be adjusted. I believed him and signed the delivery receipts with the additional note about the left rear wheel being damaged. At the time of delivery, the driver also happened to mention that J.B. Hunt did offer installation services for dishwashers. I then called Whirlpool customer service, which pretty much gave me the cold shoulder, and said that it wasnt in their policy. I had to request the installation service at the time of purchase and Whirlpool would not send someone back out. This made me upset because I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. Im not sure how Im supposed to request the installation services when theyre not being offered. But the genius customer service representative thought that I should intuitively call Whirlpool when the link isnt on the website. This is the first demonstration of Whirlpools poor customer service, in my opinion. After a couple of days of driving around to get a hose and a cord to perform the installation, I finally installed the dishwasher on March 12. Once installed, I noticed that the hinge on the left side was rubbing against the tub of the dishwasher. The door hinge was bent and the main tub was slightly damaged. Again, I contacted Whirlpools customer service department who sent out a repairman who confirmed that the dishwasher needed new tub and hinges which were covered under warranty. Unfortunately, he told me that I would not receive a new dishwasher since I installed it myself. He would order a new tub and hinges and transfer all the equipment and wiring from my original dishwasher to the new tub. Essentially, I would have a refurbished dishwasher at a new price, which I do not want.I initially wanted to have the dishwasher installed but your VIP link didnt show an option for installation. If Whirlpools website worked the way it should have and offered an installation service, I wouldnt be in this situation. I would have paid for the installation and the people installing the new dishwasher would have realized that it was damaged prior to them leaving and ordering a new dishwasher. I am a customer and not a dishwasher repairman. No normal person would have been able to catch the damage that is on my machine. Second, I find it hard to believe that Whirlpools policy states to have all the equipment from my original dishwasher installed on a new tub. So, I paid $989 for a new dishwasher thats really a refurbished dishwasher because of the damage. I wish I would have visited this site prior to purchasing. I will never deal with Whirlpool again.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

After less than three months the oven control failed. Local repairman said it would cost $450, better to get new one. Whirlpool set-up service call with their Certified Technician, who didnt come. I had to pay compensation to rental guests in the property who went without an oven for almost a full week. Also had to buy a replacement ($633) to provide a functioning range for these guests and next weeks guests. Whirlpools only response was to offer to set-up ANOTHER service call. I am out over a thousand dollars. I have been a loyal and repeat Whirlpool customer for years, but no longer. What an extremely unsatisfying experience!

DO NOT purchase a WHIRLPOOL hot water heater!! The gas valve temperature sensors on these units are faulty. Our technician has replaced several of these defective sensors. Costs $250.00 to install - water tank is only a year old! WHIRLPOOL REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM!! We bought this particular unit because of the reputable name brand. They dont live up to expectations. Dont waste your money on a Whirlpool - youll be replacing it soon! Very disappointed in this company!

I purchased the Whirlpool washer and dryer three years ago and I absolutely wish that I hadnt. After three years of use, the bearings on the tub are shot. I need to replace them but it will cost $400.00 to repair. This is the second time that this machine is for repair. I am going to dispose this machine and purchase a new model other than Whirlpool. The overall performance is poor and not as advertised. It does not use enough water and does not wash clothes well enough. At times, you can see that the water never reached parts of the garments. I am totally disappointed in its value and quality.

Four microwave ovens to finally get one that works. Four months after purchase, the French door fridge accumulated ice, 3/4 thick, in the bottom of the freezer compartment. I had no knowledge of this until the drawer became difficult to open and close. Lowes is replacing the unit.

If I fix this washer I will have been on 3 motherboards in the 5 years I have owned this machine. That is inexcusable and indicative of crap quality control and manufacturing process. I should not have to replace the control board at these intervals or, within 5 years, at all. I will never touch another Whirlpool appliance again.

I dont like the sensing feature that takes away my choice of water level control. I dont like the locking lid. It doesnt clean the heavily soiled clothes and I have to wash them twice because of the low water level. When the water is running in during the spin cycle, after the rinse cycle it washes away all the fabric softener. It takes longer from start to finish, so I dont see how it could be energy efficient. I dont like anything about the so-called energy efficient models. My opinion is they should not have changed from the old model. If it is not broken, dont try to fix it! I will never buy another Whirlpool product unless I see some significant improvements.

I purchased a Whirlpool electric water heater in August of 2008. The unit had a 12-year warranty on the tank. On January 21, 2012, I discovered that the water heater sprung a leak somewhere in the tank shell; it’s not the pressure relief valve, thermostat or anode port. The tank was never abused and operated well within its design limits. Not sure what caused it to start leaking into the catch pan and out onto my laundry room floor.I purchased the tank at Lowes and went for the longest tank warranty to reduce replacement intervals. I sent Whirlpool an email on 1/22/2012 explaining my problem and I referenced this site. The next day 1/23/2012 I receive a call from Whirlpool (Chris) asking me about my problem. I explained again and they gave me an RMA number and told me to go to Lowe’s and they would replace my hot water heater. I went straight to Lowe’s customer service and within an hour I was on my way home with a brand new hot water heater. Thank you, Chris, Whirlpool and Lowe’s. I am very happy with my outcome on this issue.

I purchased the French Door refrigerator only 7 months ago. It has been emitting a low pitched, loud, vibrating hum for days. I called the company and spoke with a well-trained representative who informed me that there needs to be a service call. When I mentioned that this did not indicate an acceptable situation for future dependability, I was pitched to purchase an extended warranty. Further… this company doesnt monitor Consumer Affairs. Quality and standing by a product are manufacturer qualities that were not evident during the call.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model number GX5SHDXVQ02/K02778282) on 9/18/2010. It broke down in 1 year and 8 months; the circuit board control went completely out and ruined all my food. Whirlpool stated I was beyond the 1-year warranty and said there was nothing they would do, except sell me a 1-year warranty for $299. I was at their mercy, so I purchased the warranty for $299 and had the fridge fixed. I would like to be reimbursed at least for the $299 warranty charge. This company should be ashamed of manufacturing such a flimsy product and not standing behind the item to protect their name.

I am so bummed that this fridge died. It was perfect in size and function and appearance. I didnt use the ice maker. Within the first year, the temps were erratic, freezing in the fridge area at the rec. setting and too warm when I lowered it. Finally the compressor gave in at 19 months. Of course, out of warranty. HOWEVER, my credit card, VISA, added a year of warranty and is paying the full amt for replacement. Now I have no idea what to get. Every brand, American or Japanese is not made to last. I regret getting rid of my old dependable avocado fridge, thats how hard it is to feel confident to make a good next purchase. Formerly reliable names are only that, OLD NAMES WITH SHINY LOOKS AND JUNK INSIDE.

I bought all my kitchen appliances in Home Depot 4 months ago (April 2014). The wall oven, Whirlpool, never worked. Flamingo Appliances is the name of the company that does services for Whirlpool in my city. They keep changing parts and today is the 3rd visit that the technician will be in my house trying to solve the problem. Customer service in Michigan is DISGUSTING! I probably have to buy another oven because they say they wont replace it if they think its fixable. 3 MONTHS! I will never buy Whirlpool again. I hate them.
