I purchased a Whirlpool washer in 2010. It has started to rust. I called the customer services dept. They told me that there was nothing they could do about it because it was over a year old. I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. She told me the same thing. I told her that its not as if Im looking for a new washer. She said that there was nothing they could do; I had to pay for the repairs myself. I told her, After spending almost $1,000 on a washer, I have to pay for the repairs? She said, Yes, maam. I asked if I could speak to someone over her. She said that she had to take down my name and number and someone would call me back in 24 hrs ... from the management team. She asked for my number and not my name and said someone would be calling back. I told her, How are you going to forward the message without a name? Maam, Im sorry. Whats your name? I doubt if anyone will be calling me back. Whirlpool customer service sucks! They dont know how to treat their customers. Watch out for the warranty. What they call a warranty is not.

My gas hot water heater failed. The pilot went out and could not be relit. The Whirlpool water heater has a 12 year warranty and we are in year 5. Sears said they could not send anyone to repair it because there was no service in our area. We live 30 minutes from Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. They offered to replace it even though I had a plumber on standby, ready to replace it. They said they could not let me do that if they had one in stock. After waiting a week for the delivery, they called at 4:45 pm to claim that the delivery truck would not start. They would not put it on another truck or help in any way. Then they said it would be another week before they could deliver it. All this time we are going without hot water, trying to cook, clean, take baths, do laundry etc. They had no sympathy and refused to provide compensation so I could proceed with installing a new water heater. I could have done this if I knew a check was in the mail but they refused to allow me to do this. This happened to me at another big box store years ago and they sent a check immediately. The customer support in the hot water heater dept at Sears was terrible. If they cant send someone to repair and they cant provide a replacement within a few days, it is only reasonable to offer payment so that the customer and move forward with repairs. I will never buy another appliance from Sears after this nightmare. On December 4th Im supposed to get the delayed hot water heater but if the truck doesnt start, who knows how long I will have to wait. I am reasonable and flexible but lack of hot water is something a customer should not have to wait two weeks to get resolved.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (Mod #WTW7300XW1) and Dryer in 2011. Ever since we have had the washer it has eaten clothing, towels, sheets etc. It now has a main bearing that is so noisy that we have to close the door to the laundry room to be able to hear in the rest of the house. Also the sealed tank around the drum is now leaking. We invested close to $1000.00 in this washer and in my opinion it is a piece of junk. The washer repairman told me that he has had 3 (three) other Cabrios with the same problem in the last month, but Whirlpool says that there is nothing they can do as they have had no issues with this problem. Last Whirlpool product that I will buy.

We have the Cabrio model and are thoroughly pleased with the performance. My only issue is the amount of sounds during the spin cycle. Otherwise, the machine is quiet. I like having the automatic dispensers for soap, bleach and fabric softener. Not having the classic tub makes loading a little different as the clothes need to be distributed around the side of the tub and avoid the center.

BEWARE THE TEMP CAN BE 25 degrees off high and 25 deg lower and Whirlpool says that is within specifications. My oven temp was set at 350 and nothing was cooked... After 7 repair calls with their certified repair companies (the 2 worst repair companies that I have ever used) I was told that if you set your oven at 350 that if it stays in between 325 and 375 that Whirlpool claims that it is working fine and will not do anything. I called and talked to customer service and asked the lady that if you set your oven at 350 should it stay within a few degrees of that and she said YES.The people that work at Whirlpool do not even know what kind of junk that their company is selling. I asked to return it and get a more expensive model hoping that it would work better but they said that they sell ovens and do not buy them. Be sure to get in writing from your sales person that your oven will constantly hold the temp within a few degrees. I tried to do the Whirlpool survey but after 11 attempts they said that there was errors in receiving and they did not get it. If you buy Whirlpool then you did not ask the right questions. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool again (unfortunately I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator that are not much better) and if you do you will say the same things and be out Thousands like I am.

We have had this Whirlpool washer duet 5 years. It regularly rips shirts, underwear, socks, and sweatshirts. Jeans or heavy denim are safe but polos, hanes, or flannel are not. We have been putting our clothes into laundry bags and lingerie bags for a couple of years now to wash safely. Additionally it leaks out the front door. We clean it regularly and it still has mold growing on the rubber gasket - we do prop the door open also. All in all it is a terrible dryer. My previous Maytag was fabulous. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

The stove is only 5 years old. The oven would not ignite. The gas was getting through, but theres no flame. Sears repaired it and put a complete flame and ignitor piece at a cost for a part of $132.00. I feel the stove is too new to have to replace anything. I am retired, so I do not use the oven often. I have only cleaned the oven one time in five years. It is very clean. I picked this stove out and paid $900.00, because I liked the style and everything about it. I feel you should look into this, and I should not have to pay for repairs in such a short time of ownership. The repair person said this stove already had an upgrade in it. Please respond. Does the whole heating element need replacing or just the ignitor?

Ive had gaps in the gasket seal and air was coming from the freezer. This happened 3x. Now there is a build up of frost and ice. STAY AWAY!! In 2011 a part had to be replaced twice due to excessive noise. Then the freezer got frost buildup on a coil in 2012 and again in 2014. I called Whirlpool and asked if they would pay for my next 3 year warranty. They said no, it was my responsibility after the first year. I would never buy a Whirlpool product . I have a Whirlpool 33 inch wide Side by Side refrigerator. WRS311SDHM. This is the worst refrigerator I have ever had. Temperatures are inconsistent. It is less than a year old. Initially, I stored the big container of spring mix lettuce on the bottom shelf of the refrig as it wouldnt fit in the crisper draw. The temp setting in the refrigerator was set to ideal. Oddly though, in the freezer, ice cubes were melting and refreezing creating a massive frozen block. So, I raised the temperature in the refrigerator, but kept the freezer at coldest. However, I noticed that when I set the refrigerator to a warmer setting, ice cream became cold soup despite the coldest setting.I called Whirlpool and a service technician from Georges Appliance in New Providence, NJ came to my home (of course I had to take half a day off from work). He stuck a thermometer in the freezer and said, its working fine. While at my home he called Whirlpool who said that if lettuce isnt kept in the crisper drawer it will freeze (silly woman, dont you know that?) and ice cream will get soft in the freezer if the temp in the refridge is warmer than ideal. So, it seems I can have lettuce or ice cream, but not both. Okay, so I put the temp back to ideal, bought smaller packs of lettuce that would fit in the crisper draw and called it a day. Nope....lettuce and anything else in the crisper draw freezes too. Wilted, soggy lettuce is so nice in a salad and frozen baby carrots can break your teeth.I have been on the phone with Whirlpool executive dept several times. They offered to have another service company come out to look at the refrigerator. This repair company would not give me a 4 hr time frame until the day before the actual service call. This might be okay if you work from home or are retired, but this is not my case. I opted to not have them come. This is my last Whirlpool product. Since KitchenAid and Jenn Air are owned by Maytag/whirlpool, my other options are LG, Samsung, GE or Sub Zero.

Problem resolved - This is an update to my previous complaint... The repair man arrived this morning and after resetting the thermostat, the water heater started up again. He explained to me that these new water heaters are super sensitive because of the new designs and systems that are required by the State of California. He said that all brands have to have the same system. He said that the new water heaters dont breathe as well as the old ones. In our case, he suspected that after being installed, there were probably some air bubbles in the pipes which tricked the computer into telling it that there was not enough ventilation, when in fact our ventilation was fine, but that triggered a total shut down! In my previous written complaint, I was really upset because I have not had a shower in 3 days and thought this problem water heater would not be fixed until next week. I was furious! My understanding is that basically the way the new water heaters are designed is not very well and there is nothing we can do because about it they are all the same, unless we want to go to a tankless water heater system which plumbing included would cost $4000.00... so we are stuck and hope this will not happen again!

A factory authorized technician came out this morning and repaired the wash
A factory authorized technician came out this morning and repaired the washing machine. The bolt had come off of the pulley, which then fell off and burned through the guard, and then burned into the insulating on the bottom. The technician said this happens frequently. All that needs to happen is to have a Loctite bolt holding the pulley rather than a plain bolt which comes loose with the vibration. All Whirlpool had to do was spend a couple cents more for the proper part which would avoid potential fire! I should not have needed to have had my home put at risk, needed this service call or pay all that extra money because of their poor workmanship and design failure. This should be a recall item, and all costs incurred by the consumer should be covered by Whirlpool.

The knob on the Gas Cook top stove from Whirlpool (Part no: W10594481) is very poorly designed. It is very flimsy and breaks easily inside. Outside it still looks intact, but if you examine it on the reverse side, where it actually fits into the cooktops metal rod to turn the gas up or down, we can see it breaks there, as it is made of very cheap plastic. Although it is supposed to be a Stainless steel knob, it is actually all plastic where it matters most. I bought the new cook top from Whirlpool in 2014 and within a year have replaced all the knobs as they were breaking once every couple of months. I am still having this problem after 2 years now. I have contacted Whirlpool and have asked for a solution to this problem. They dont have any, other than offering a new version of the knob which costs $10 more and it is not easily available anywhere. I feel very cheated that I got a poor quality product and no help from them on fixing the problem.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, Ill get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

I have a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater, product #0733136, that was installed in 2010. The pilot has repeatedly gone out and had to be re-lit. After reading some of the comments, I am amazed that other people were told to verify gas supply with the gas company (done) and clean the air intake (done) and then to call customer service and be told to do the intake cleaning again (done professionally six days ago). I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and fortunately, I am in property management and can advise others to avoid this company as well. I am extremely disappointed in Lowes for not doing a better job of providing reliable choices for their customers especially after these many complaints over the years. I have decided to replace the water heater with another brand immediately.

After reading many of the 1,500 +/- complaints about this inferior product, I guess I should consider myself lucky. Ours didnt fail until this past Saturday, March 22, 2014. We purchased this Whirlpool (American Water Heater Company) water heater FG1H4040T3NOV at Lowes, and had it professionally installed, in October 2004, and we have had no issues until this past Saturday when we woke up to no hot water. After checking for the obvious, and finding no apparent cause for the failure, I considered it a fluke and relighted the pilot. The pilot took a few attempts to light, but it lit, and the burners came on.Three days later, we woke to no hot water again. This time, we placed a service call to the company that did the initial install. The technician came out, and after his inspection he informed me that the thermocouple/burner assembly needed to be replaced. He also informed me that this is a well-known issue, and Whirlpool has been sending out free updated replacement parts. He called Whirlpool, only to be told that they are no longer offering free, updated parts. Whirlpool also cited that the water heater was out of warranty (by less than 5 months). He gave me Whirlpools number, so I could contact them myself. As I smelled a rat, I began to do some online research about this issue, and, to my chagrin, I found out that I was far from alone with this issue. As of this writing, 1,500+ consumer and professional complaints, a settled class-action lawsuit, etc., etc. I contacted Whirlpool, explained my situation to the support rep, and, he proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help me with free replacement parts, due to the warranty being expired (less than 5 months). I argued with him, stating that this is not a warranty issue, but is in-fact a design/manufacturing defect issue, that has resulted in a redesign/re-manufacture. I cited the myriad of online data and negative testimonials, and I reminded him about the settled class-action lawsuit on this very topic. He acknowledged all of the above, was unimpressed, and offered to sell me the parts. After 15 minutes of back and forth, I asked to be escalated to the next level. But, of course the supervisor was unavailable, and If Id care to leave my name and number... yeah, right. Bottom line, Im very angry! I paid good money to Lowes for Whirlpools product, with a nine-year warranty. I had it professionally installed, and we have no hot water due to poorly designed parts. And... I am being forced to purchase the redesigned parts. Its truly unsatisfying to be an American consumer these days!

Purchased side-by-side model fridge, and within a month, the ice-maker froze up. Within a year, the relay switch failed, and caused the compressor to fail. What a lemon. Also, the clear bins in the door of the fridge side, have all cracked. Whirlpool says it is a cosmetic issue, but I think it is hazard and a material processing failure during their manufacturing process. They obviously would not cover any cosmetic issues under the warranty.I was one of the lucky ones, at this point, as the repairs were under warranty (expensive compressor, only by one week), had to buy an extended warranty to cover me in the future. I was only out the cost of extended warranty, and a fridge full of food. Lucky me. Customer service is worthless for any issues. I dont think Ill buy another Whirlpool product again. Buyers beware.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio HE top loading washer and front-loading dryer about 7 years ago. It has been okay, but nothing special. Recently it began stopping in the middle of the cycle and showing an F51 error. Then all of a sudden the noise during spin was deafening. Brought out a tech, who came and did some eval. Left with some basic maintenance. Did a load, and happily no more F51 code, but still so very loud during spin cycle.Called again; tech returned and said that drum and shaft would likely need to be replaced to the tune of some $500. The same story as others have told. We should have bought the extended warranty. Like others, I also felt that washers lasted at least 10 years. And that seemed a short time given expectations in the past of 20 years of service. Im disappointed in Whirlpool. Even though Consumer Reports gives the Whirlpool Duet washer (new 2013) one of its highest reviews, I cant bring myself to buy another Whirlpool product. It appears to me that this warrants recall as well.

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport Front-Loading washing machine December 5, 2006. Approximately six months later, the machine would not come on! Service determined the motherboard was faulty. Since it was under warranty, they replaced it. We continued to have the same issue with turning the machine on. The technician instructed us to hold the start button down for a minute or unplug the machine to reset it. The problem persisted. Now, we are told it needs yet another motherboard. Cost - $500! We paid about $650 for the machine! (The manufacturer only offers a one year warranty on the motherboard) What incentive do I have to purchase this part? After all, Whirlpool only warranties it for a year! That in itself, tells me they cant guarantee the quality of their product.

The best thing about this washer is that it has a transparent lid that allows you to watch your laundry getting dirtier as it washes. Its less than a year old so I havent had the problems with the bearings and such yet, but as far as cleaning, it DOES NOT DO THE JOB! My blacks have white residue on them EVERY SINGLE time I wash them. I end up washing/rinsing/rinsing my darks which definitely defeats the save water function. A regular load takes an hour to wash, and then another hour to rewash, which definitely isnt time saving. My whites are grey and often come out with the same dirt on them as they had going in. Im talking about dirt that you can scrape off with your fingernail, which tells me that they arent even getting wet, nevermind washed. The large capacity is a myth, since-- as per instructions--you can only line the dirty clothes around the centre hub without covering the little silver bump in the centre, or else the clothes wont come clean. This wastes a large amount of capacity. In a nutshell, your darks will come out dirtier, your whites will come out dingier, you waste more water from rewashing, you waste more time and electricity due to long wash cycle and rewashing. I will never buy another Whirlpool ANYTHING again.

I purchased a Whirlpool Ref side by side 11-2013. I have had nothing but trouble. First the Ice maker leaked, was fixed. The door to the ref has had serviced 5 times. The tech after many times trying to fix hinge on door twice was told to order new door. This took 6-8 week to get. Came today 5-27-15 too but new door on. It is still not right, has big gap in the middle - still not level as should be. I have called Customer Service again today with no help. All they want you to do is spend more money on a contract. I THOUGHT WHIRLPOOL WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A GOOD PRODUCT......NOTTA....WILL NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN. SO IF YOU EVER BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT BE SURE TO GET EXTENDED WARRANTY. YOU MIGHT NEED IT..........STILL NOT SATISFIED AND NO HELP IN SIGHT.

We purchased the Whirlpool refrigerator (model ED5LVAXVQ00) 4 years ago. The plastic around the top shelf cracked within two years but is not a warranty item. Now, all the plastic surrounding shelves have cracks and the slides for the pull out drawers are also broken. My wife and I are retired and have not overstressed the shelves. The cost for replacing the cracked plastic will be approximately $250 (hardly worth fixing)! We are very disappointed that a once reputable company would build and market such an inferior product. I hope this comment will warn prospective buyers to be careful when considering Whirlpool refrigerators. Very disappointed!

I purchased a lot of Whirlpool appliances -- washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and now a Whirlpool stainless steel refrigerator. This was approximately the end of 2014. Not long after I purchased the refrigerator, the front started with small rust stains. I notified Whirlpool and all they said was call Scratch-b-gone in California. My refrigerator should have been under warranty. They offered no other help. I live-chatted this morning and they say the same thing -- call another company. You are now out of service. Im so very disappointed in Whirlpool and will definitely rethink purchasing another Whirlpool appliance. My other stainless steel appliances are not having a rust problem -- just the refrigerator. I havent tried the Scratch-b-gone yet because on their website they say that a lot of Whirlpool products have a coating on them. VERY, VERY unhappy with Whirlpool and their customer service...

Mine came new with the home I purchased 3 years ago and so far I have had no problems at all. The only drawback is that if it is on, you can hardly tell it is running so if you forget you might interrupt the wash cycle unintentionally. It does an excellent job on dishes and the stainless steel front is easy to keep clean since there are no mechanical knobs or switches, you can just wipe it down and be done in less than a minute.

Purchased Whirlpool Dishwasher 1 year ago. I use the Dishwasher once a week. When the Dishwasher was originally installed, immediately I noticed when dishes were placed the racks, there is an annoying squeaking sound. I am not exaggerating but the noise can be heard from my sidewalk outside! I called Whirlpool and a technician was sent to my residence. There is nothing wrong with your Dishwasher. I was told to Grease the racks. One year later I still have the same issue! I placed the phone near the Dishwasher to have the Customer Service Rep hear the Loud Squeaking and to no avail. I will never ever buy another product from Whirlpool. Now the latch will not close to the door! I rarely use this appliance, only placing dishes and utensils. No Pots and Pans!!!!! This is going to be another huge bill I will be responsible for paying and I dont feel it is of my own doing. It seems to be apparent that Whirlpool does not stand by their products!!!! I am sure they are aware of all these issues, customers are complaining and nothing seems to be done from reading some of these posts. I am wondering why they are still in business.

Since 10 days I am calling hundreds of Whirlpool persons including Area manager, ware house, customer service, nobody is giving any date when I will be getting it. Moreover, they have stopped taking my call recently. Right now, I am at a loss how can I get a refrigerator or my money back... Last option is consumer forum. I bought the new Whirlpool aqua clean last year - they guaranteed me at the store it would clean as I explained having a clean oven at all times was extremely important to me. They assured me I would be pleased with the results. I have never disliked an oven as much as I do this one. The tech came to the house and checked the temperature of the oven as I also complained it was baking uneven (the back was overcooked while the front was underbaked) but the temperature was right on so nothing can be done. As far as the cleaning goes all I can get is a new bottom pan for the oven as I have four years of insurance. Not happy as I would like to have a different stove. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS OVEN TO ANYONE.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. For the same issue to occur in this short time span, it has engineering flaw written all over it.

Since I bought it, I have had them replace 3 water pumps, the tub, the computer, and it still knocks and shakes. It also leaves small frayed holes in my beach towels. This machine should be recalled. It needed a warranty from day one. Washer cost $1,000 warranty every year $130.00 per year which covered the repairs at about $900.00 for repairs. I hate it. I just hate it. I can’t stand it anymore. We purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater (Model No. N40T61-343) from Lowes in the Summer of 2013. 2.5 years later, the water heater goes out as of 01/19/2016. Therefore, I contacted the telephone number on the side of the water heater in order to restart the water heater. We followed the instructions by pushing in the pilot button, as well the ignition button. To no avail, the water heater did not restart. I called customer service on Thursday (01/21/2016) to speak with a representative. She said that we needed another Thermopile and a Gas Valve replacement. So, who is going to put it on? It would cost as much as getting a whole new water heater. Therefore, we are going to Menards to purchase the Richmond Gas Water Heater. We had a Richmond once before; and it lasted from 1999 or 2000, until 2013.After reading all the reviews about this brand water heater (Whirlpool), no wonder people are complaining. Ladies and gentlemen, do yourselves a favor and not buy a Whirlpool Water Heater. The only thing that Whirlpool is good for is only their name. Their Water Heaters in particular are worthless pieces of junk. NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL GAS WATER HEATER AGAIN!!!

I purchased a dishwasher from Menards. It was a top of the line Whirlpool Dishwasher. We ordered new cabinets for a kitchen upgrade and when the cabinets arrived they were damaged during Thanksgiving holiday. We purchased the dishwasher and it sat in our garage until the second set of cabinets arrived in mid January.Once the GC installed the new cabinets we noticed a small dent in the front of the stainless steel dishwasher. I notified Whirlpool and they took my model and serial number. The supervisor April said there is nothing that I can do. You passed the 30 day cosmetic warranty. I explained the issue to her and she didnt seem to care. The dishwasher sat in the garage for 7-8 weeks. This is not the consumers fault. This company could of sent a service mechanic out and replaced the front panel. But she chose to ready some meaningless policy to me. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again, and I will tell everyone about the poor and unprofessional service that Whirlpool offers.

In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliance
In Feb. 2014 we moved into a new Condo and bought all new kitchen appliances, MAKING one mistake, a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, Model WRS322FDAM 01. It had to be ordered and was received by Lowes on March 10th. Letters from Whirlpool told me that their service warranty had ended as of 2/1/15 which predated our receipt of the fridge. It is a bit noisy with the ice maker, and when it fills up with water, you can hear it, and yes, the ice does fly a bit when you put it into your glass. The worst thing about this piece of junk, is how cheaply it is made. The materials used must have come from the rejected pile of parts. Its just my husband and I, no grandchildren/children and very little company. So, the fridge received average use and then within 6 months, one of the drawers cracked at the back. I tried to glue it back together myself because I was told that it was not a covered item??? My repair lasted a few months and then came apart entirely. When I removed the broken shelf I noticed something around the LED light on the liner in the back of the fridge. I pulled out the meat drawer and found a crack that began at the bottom of the light and had moved about 3 inches to the left, and another one that began at the right of the light and that was about 4 inches or so.Life intervened and when I looked again, the right side crack had split and deepened and it had now crossed over to the rounded edging connecting the back liner to the side liner. The left side crack had also moved further to the left, and is now approaching the side corner. I spoke with Whirlpool and they sent out a repair company who e-mailed a photo of the cracks to them from our home. The company response was that they would cover the crack with 482395 liner tape. - this was their idea of a repair.I then spoke with a Lowes representative who agreed to send another repair firm out. Well, they came today and when they spoke with Whirlpool, they were told to order an Epoxy kit (# 8212572) - this was their version of a repair. I spoke with a supervisor and told her that they were not repairing the liner, they were just placing a bandage on top of the crack. I compared it to owning a new car but having cracks in the dashboard. In this case the dealer would place tapes over the cracks instead of just replacing the dash. Neither response from Whirlpool was a repair. All they were doing was hiding their piece of garbage. She disagreed and would offer nothing further. I told her that I was going to bring this to the attention of any consumer group that I could, and might even see if a class action suit could be brought to bear as there were many other reports of cracked liners. We are totally disgusted with the product and its manufacturer. Whirlpool used to have a good reputation, but after this, it is now at the bottom of the garbage barrel.

We purchased this combo from Lowes; checked my account and saw we were double charged! Got the charge adjusted; jeez. Bought this size to do comforters and large loads, but nothing large gets completely wet. Our clothes started to mildew as Affresh does not work. Im allergic to mildew and got headaches. The mechanic said this mildew is because all the action is under the basin and you dont want to see how black it is under there. It began to leak as buildup went into the bleach dispenser, and it turned black. He said to run a gallon of white vinegar in the clean cycle once a month, and this did work. I did a clean out with Castile peppermint soap, several white vinegar treatments, and got rid of the mildew and the (clog related) leak. I now use Mollys Suds powder. I was shocked to read on the Mollys site that mfg does not have to list all the terrible ingredients in commercial detergent, which is not helping you or the machine.

We bought all new Whirlpool kitchen appliances in February of 2017. The French Door Refridgerator MRF993FIFM we purchased was a large side by side with a water/ice dispenser and freezer on the bottom. The concept of it is great, as it is very roomy. The problem is with the product quality and usability. We are a family of four with the youngest being twelve. We do not have to worry about rough little hands anymore. That being said there is a crack in the back of the plastic casing of one shelf, a crack in the freezer door, the seal doesnt connect on the dispenser side door, the slide out shelf in the freezer doesnt stay on its rollers and the main ice maker stopped working (which never worked properly either). Also, and this is what bothers me the most, the glass on one of the shelves is sealed down so it cannot be cleaned under. But there is a small slit going all the way around that separates it from the plastic. Food is still seeping underneath and creating mold with no way to clean underneath! This was not an inexpensive refrigerator and we were not prepared to have these kinds of problems after a year. We are very unhappy with the quality of this product.

I came here to see if others have had problems with their Whirlpool Cabrio top load washers. I was amazed at how many others forked over nearly a grand ($1000 with tax and extended warranty) for such a heap of nothing. I have lived in the same house for over 35 years, same water supply with water softener. Over this time, I have raised my family and been lucky enough to only go through two washers until 2 years ago when I purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio machine at Lowes. As with others, clothes do not get cleaned. Residue is present and in the creases of the tightly spun and tangled load. After calling Whirlpool and Lowes on nearly day one of my original purchase, no concern was given. Instead, I received the What type of detergent or Could it be your water supply? or What degree of soil does your family have on their garments? A white terry cloth washcloth should not come out grey, even after bleach! My GE and Maytags of the past always did fantastic jobs. They just plain old wore out. As for my new energy efficient machine that takes 86 minutes to wash a load, with expensive HE detergent, an oxy clean pouch, special fabric softeners, I scratch my head wondering how can this be efficient? If a pair of jeans needs pre-soaking, it cant be done in this washer. Instead, I spray the jeans with pre-soak, add my HE products, then fill a mop bucket full of water and dump into the machine 5 minutes after the 86-minute session has started. What a joke! For two years plus, I have vented to my poor husband who thought he was buying me a new innovative state of the art machine to make my life easier. I only wish there was somewhere or someone that I could contact to get some satisfaction for my agony with this poor quality product! Yes, I am venting. I dont have another thousand dollars to spend for a new machine. Believe me, if there were to be a class action lawsuit for this lemon, I would be first to sign up!

My new ACCU-BAKE oven was not baking properly. Always uneven results. Finally called for service, just in time before the warranty expired. The service rep informed me that I had not bought a convection oven. Well, duh! Of course, I knew that! He tested the temperature levels inside the oven and found a variance of 10 degrees Celsius, which he reported by phone to the company. He advised me to reach into the oven half-way through any baking process to turn my cake around, and it would bake evenly. I asked him if he had ever tried that himself. No, he said, he was not a baker. That was the end of the service call. No follow-up, no service. Today I learned that the company actually has this exchange in its records, but if I want to get the oven to work properly Ill have to pay for service, as the warranty has expired. I wonder what would happen if I ever tried the self-clean or Sabbath mode features on this oven.

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

I bought a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in 2005. In the first 12 months I replaced either 4 or 5 thermocouples and a total of between 15 and 20 from the time I bought it in 2006 and 2012. Only 1 time did the company replace one of them. When I would call them the rep would say things like, There may not be enough ventilation or Was it installed by a licensed technician? The 1 time they did take care of a problem the technician they sent out said NOTHING was wrong with the ventilation or the way it was installed. Oh yea, Customer Service told me that they did me a FAVOR (exact word) when they did that.In 2012 the hot water heater went out for good. The company would NOT do anything about it. I took it back to Lowes where I got it and they replaced it for me since the manufacturer wouldnt. The new hot water heater went out after only 3 years. I turned the hot water on and it was not getting hot so I checked the hot water heater to see what was going in. I found the pilot was burning, but the burner was not burning. I turned the water heater off and and checked everything out. When I tried to relight the water heater, guess what? It will not light. I was told they could send someone out, but if they determined there was not a problem I would be charged a service call. I said the machine is not even a week old why would I be charged a service call shouldnt this be a warranty issue. Again I was told there would be a service call charge.I am completely baffled at the customer service response. This is the first and only time I called. I contacted the store where I purchased both the washer and dryer and was told it should not be that loud, this is the first time anyone has complained about the noise level and there should not be charge. The refrigerator was a lemon. It was a French door style with bottom drawer freezer. We finally called the local dealer, whom she purchased it from, and he took it back. Gave her substantial credit toward another refrigerator, not Whirlpool! Very disappointed in Whirlpool... Will never purchase another appliance with this name!!!

I called to find out if they could assist me with my dishwasher. It is 1 year and 3 weeks old. The start button will not switch on the machine. The only way they would assist me is if I would pay the full cost of repair because it is 3 weeks out of warranty! There are no other suggestions. I would have met them half way with paying half the bill but I got nothing but Im sorry and we cant help. They dont stand behind their product.

This refrigerator is only days old and I realize the mistake that was made in buying it- it is far too noisy! When it is running I can hear it in my basement- sounds like a car in my driveway idling with no muffler!!! And when it stops running, it gurgles loudly for 10-15 seconds. Dont even start on the door being hard to pull open after the door was recently opened.

I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave (model WMH3205XVQ) on 9/27/10 and have replaced the door now for the second time due to the plastic cracking. I also discovered today that the plastic has again cracked on the vent grill and the control panel. The door, vent grill, and control panel were all replaced on 8/19/2011, under warranty. It appears to me that Whirlpool has a manufacturing defect which they need to address with the consumers who have purchased these products.

Talked to tech & checked the manual for testing the thermocouple on my natural gas water heater. Everything checked out fine but pilot wouldnt stay lit. Tested thermal switch.... everything. They said replace the valve/thermostat. Still no dice. Turns out the thermocouple was cracked on the inside near the burner assembly & would give passing readings on the voltmeter 9 out of 10 times. If you have any pilot problems, replace the thermocouple first. Was only 10 bucks. I keep a spare now. Dont forget to vacuum any dust from the fine mesh screen on the very bottom. Fresh air supply.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

I called to get it replaced and they said Whirlpool doesnt replace appliances, they just keep servicing it. **! How can they get away with this!

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loader High-Efficiency Machine on March 20, 2013. 14 months later, it failed. When I called customer service I was informed the 1 year warranty had expired (I knew this already) and that all they could offer me was a $319 extended warranty to fix machine and guarantee covered future repairs. Luckily, I had the machine repaired at no cost to me after complaining to the sales people I bought the machine from the year earlier. They contacted their Whirlpool representative who had the repair covered. Now, 3 years and 11 days after purchasing it, it failed again. This time the machine would no longer spin out the water. Whirlpool offered nothing more than to give the website and special code for a discount on a new machine. After some haggling, they agreed to pay for 50% of the parts only, no labor. I argued this machine must be a lemon, as they have told me theyve heard no prior issues with this machine and that it would be reasonable to replace this machine. They refused any further assistance. So I threw this piece of junk away and instead, for $185, bought a simple rebuilt 15 year old Maytag washer with agitator, direct drive. Just a couple of knobs. No computer, fancy bells and whistles. I can say with absolute certainty that I will never purchase a Whirlpool product ever again. I also believe these machines are no longer meant to last like old washers (and dryers) used to.

Oven igniter has went out for the third time, 1 broke knob on stove. Dishwasher leaves dishes wet after cycle. Fridge handle fell off, crisper drawer rail broke off, and a door shelf is cracked. I am a veteran and unemployed. What happens when warranty expires and all my CRAP whirlpool breaks a week later? Also was told warranty doesnt cover the crisper drawer. They didnt tell me that when I purchased at Spencers on 75th ave and Bell road. Salesman at Spencers, Dan ** told us everything is covered. Im not a happy customer or VETERAN!

The built-in microwave above the stove was in the home when we bought it seven years ago, so not sure how old it is. Although it had a crack in the door, near the handle, weve had not one problem with the unit. The crack has not opened more, or gotten longer, in the seven years weve been in the home. The unit is easy to clean, and has worked perfectly. It is simple to use, although no directions came with it, it was easy to figure it out.

Purchased a Whirlpool top loading washer. The agitation cycle is unreasonably loud. So loud you can hear it everywhere in my home and cannot have a conversation within about 30 feet of it. When I ran it for the first time I thought it was malfunctioning and when I called Whirlpool I thought they would send a technician to fix the problem but they told me that the sound was perfectly normal for high efficiency washers! My other high efficiency washers were very quiet. The fact that they think this type of noise is not only normal but quite acceptable makes me quite certain to never buy any of their products again. I purchased this set in November 2013, it is now October 2014. I made the same mistake as many others have made (according to the reviews that I have read on this site). Because I have owned Whirlpool brand appliances before - including washers/dryers - I assumed this new HE machine set would be every bit as good + quality. Unfortunately, I did not do my homework!Everyone is right - this Cabrio HE washer/dryer combo is nothing more than expensive JUNK!. My complaints are all the same as everyone elses: the clothes do not get clean, soap residue remains on clothes, the clothes even have parts of the articles come out of the wash cycle dry not even having had the water touch the articles in areas! The dryer has been repaired once already for a dryer sensor problem & overheating, now both the washer & dryer are making some ridiculous hum-drum noises! Even with the extended warranty that I purchased, I can see the loop holes built into it; theyve got me over a barrel with the nonsense mumble-jumble tactics of having to qualify for adequate service repairs for replacement of parts (3x on each machine) they cant find, before even attempting to negotiate a buyout that will never happen. Never again, Whirlpool anything!!!

Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy..
Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 Cu. Ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool fridge. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going downhill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the fridge up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers Customer Service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore, I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, while, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer, besides, I had an older Whirlpool fridge that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP, when I tried to upgrade the old fridge - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

I purchased a new Whirlpool range and had it fitted for propane. I used the stove daily and within two weeks, the temperature started fluctuated constantly. Several things I tried to cook ended up burned. I called Whirlpool to ask them for a possible solution. They wanted to send a repair person. I live on an island and knew it would take forever to get someone here. My appliance person said it could be only two things - the temperature probe or the computer board. I purchased both things and had them shipped to my address at my expense. It cost $257.00 to get the items. My appliance man on the island installed the two new items. I was hoping that would fix the problem. I am sad to say it did not! The oven still fluctuates wildly. I set the temp for 350 degrees and it shoots up to 450 degrees. I turn the temp down to 325 and it settles in at 350 for a period of time. Then, without any warning, it will shoot back up to 500 degrees. I have to open the door and let the temp back down to 350. This is how I have to bake and cook with this disaster. Wish I never purchased a Whirlpool appliance!

To start with, the ice maker drips non-stop. I have to check it several times a day to make sure its not puddling up and running my hardwood floor. Because of the continuous that, drip, freeze cycle, it creates an ice dam around the rubber boot between the ice maker and ice bin....which they located in the door where there is inadequate cold, so the cubes melt, making even more of a mess, causing it to be unable to dispense them because it is one big mass... oh and that creates an ice dam also, so on top of replacing a torn boot a couple times a year I have to chisel out the ice bucket and defrost it once a week.Want more? The ice tastes horrible. I have no idea why. It didnt in my last refrigerator. The Tap water tastes fine, I disconnected the line running in to the ice maker and tried the water from there and its fine. So somewhere in the ice maker, something is wrong. There is more. The unit is a year old and now inside the refrigerator it smells like gamey shrimp. I have no shrimp in the freezer, fridge, not have I. I dont store anything in poor sealing containers, nothing has spilled, I removed all drawers, panels, shelves and scrubbed the whole inside with bleach/water. I changed every filter, checked the drip pan (clean), and still half-rotten shrimp smell. My last refrigerator was an Amana from 1986. I bought it used in 93 and owned it until I got this Whirlpool. Never had a problem with it. I have had non-stop problems with this over-priced Whirlpool and I guarantee it is the LAST Whirlpool product I will ever own.

NEVER, NEVER buy one unless you love cleaning your oven. The temperature goes to 160 for 40 minutes, it does nothing to clean your oven. I called the co. we bought it from. The fellow said, Oh you should clean your oven weekly, really there are 2 of us and I use the oven maybe 2-3 times a week without spillovers. When I do have spillovers I use the AquaLift waste of time, then have to spray it down with Affresh Spray the co. My husband and I purchased a new Maytag top load washing machine from Best Buy in May 2017. On June 19th, a month later, as I am washing, all of a sudden the machine dies down. I checked everything from the outlet, the plug to the circuit breaker, and nothing seemed to help get my washer to start up again. Unfortunately I had wet clothes inside and the lid is one of those that locks itself and it would not open. :( I called Whirlpool/Maytag to explain my situation and could not believe that they told me that they only have 1 authorized appliance repair dealer they work with in my area and that they didnt show any available appointments until 4 weeks from now? WHAT? Are you kidding me? I could not wait that long, especially since I had soaking wet clothes sitting inside the washer.I asked if I called someone else myself and have it repaired sooner, would they reimburse me for the expenses. They refused to do that and told me I need to wait for their own authorized repair dealers. Talk about bad customer service here :( My husband called them back and asked to speak to a supervisor at Whirlpool and was told that it shouldnt have to be that long for us to wait for repair so why was I told that in the first place? The supervisor proceeded to tell my husband that we will get a call back in 5 days? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 5 days just for someone to CALL us? And then have to wait longer to get our service done? No way!We think that Whirlpool sold Best Buy a lemon and we are paying for it! Why cant they say that they will get in touch with Best Buy so they can deliver a new working machine and take this lemon back? We are not happy with their responses so we will be paying Best Buy a visit to see what else we can do. I already spent unnecessary money to go to a laundromat to wash clothes :( I would recommend that people stay away from Whirlpool products. Well see if we can exchange ours for another brand.

Another load of darks with white soap residue splattered across every item. Despite using a soap pod and setting to so-called Deep Water wash. Whirlpool top load WTW5000 is a terrible machine. As in other reviews, constant soap residue and clothes stretched and tangled into a compressed wad with deep wrinkles as you try and untangle them after the wash. This is an AMAZING dryer. Probably the best I've ever used. My husband & I live in a mobile home so our main reason for purchase is the fact it is VENTLESS & it's compact. The dryer is so quiet. You can hardly hear it with a tv going. It doesn't take any more time to dry than another modern dryer. The end result are damp clothes, however there is enough steam and heat left in the bin at the end of the cycle to where if you fluff the clothes they'll be dry in a matter of seconds. The dryer acts as a dehumidifier by capturing moisture from the air it uses. All the features are up to date and easy to figure out. It's worked extremely well since we've had it and I'm happy to say we LOVE IT!
