Our Whirlpool oven was on fire two different times. The first 10/1/2021 flames inside oven right side. When Flamingo Appliances came to fix the coal was fried underneath. He changed it. Almost 4 months later my stove is on fire again and had to call 911 this time! The back control panel caught fire and is fried. This model has too many malfunctions and is faulty. Whirlpool said they are going to send Flamingo Appliances out to diagnose the problem and see if they can fix it. What next, gonna blow up on me. Earliest they can come out is 2 1/2 weeks. This is unacceptable at all cost. I never had a problem with a stove like this. This stove is faulty. Flamingo appliances/Whirlpool need to realize that the oven is faulty needs to be taken seriously.

I dont like the sensing feature that takes away my choice of water level control. I dont like the locking lid. It doesnt clean the heavily soiled clothes and I have to wash them twice because of the low water level. When the water is running in during the spin cycle, after the rinse cycle it washes away all the fabric softener. It takes longer from start to finish, so I dont see how it could be energy efficient. I dont like anything about the so-called energy efficient models. My opinion is they should not have changed from the old model. If it is not broken, dont try to fix it! I will never buy another Whirlpool product unless I see some significant improvements.

Bought a stainless steel Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer in 2011. I purchased an extended warranty from Lowes (4) years, and still have another year left on it. Im constantly having to mop up puddles that form under the right front of the refrigerator. I read someone elses review with the same issue along with a sheet of ice forming in the bottom of the freezer and having to chip it out so the freezer drawer will close! Im calling the warranty company today.

Looked for the best refrig we could find and it turned out to be a piece of junk! Less than 3 years old, paid 2700$, french doors bottom door freezer. It started making a lot of noise it seem to be coming from freezer. Called Whirlpool, they said to clean coils. We wanted a repair company to come out. They set an appointment for next Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. Said ok.Was making so much noise, and no longer freezing everything so call said company. Lady was very rude, and said they would not be out on Tuesday but sometime the following week. This would not work for us so called another repair shop, said they would be out. They were here before 6pm. Found out that they have been having this problem, had same type of call already this week. Repair for this problem would be over $1100.00. No thank you! Would just as soon junk this appliance. So very sorry we wasted our money on this.

My review merely echoes the other 1-star reviews Ive read below, but Im including it anyway. We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio from Lowes in 2013. Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We told the technician thanks but no thanks and purchased a $450 Samsung washer. Our family will never purchase any Whirlpool product again. From their customer service to the performance of their machines-- its all very much lacking.

If I fix this washer I will have been on 3 motherboards in the 5 years I have owned this machine. That is inexcusable and indicative of crap quality control and manufacturing process. I should not have to replace the control board at these intervals or, within 5 years, at all. I will never touch another Whirlpool appliance again.

Purchased side-by-side 3 weeks ago. There are 2 adults and 1 kid in my household and the ice maker in the unit does not put out enough ice to handle our small demand, though this was never an issue with the 14 year old Whirlpool that this one replaced! We are using ice trays to supplement what ice the ice maker puts out but the ice trays take up valuable freezer space. Their service reps have inspected it and tell me that it is performing per the specs and when I ask for what the remedy is, there is none... ie. too bad, so sad!! I am apparently on my own with a brand new refrigerator with an ice maker that wont perform up to minimum expectations!

Have had Refrigerator less than two years and the evaporator seal is leaking and all the Freon is gone causing the freezer and ice maker to quit. Will cost $700 to repair. Found out it is a known defect with Whirlpool. Called Whirlpool for reimbursement and they refused, saying they do not know anything about this issue. This is interesting since it is all over the Web with complaints. I have been a customer of Whirlpool for 20 years and they have lost me and everyone else I know.

Fridge: no ice cubes. Water dripping from the door. Base of one door damage
Fridge: no ice cubes. Water dripping from the door. Base of one door damaged. After 4 WHIRLPOOL repair services visits, ice cubes OK. Dishwasher: 40% of the time, kitchen floor damped with dirty smelly sticky water. Were first told: Its the product; next: Its the way you arrange dishes; next: The filter is not completely clean. And we are waiting on the 4th visit from the Whirlpool service. We have owned at least 7 dishwashers so far, this is just unbelievable! Poor poor poor performance, with dishes covered with dirty film once in a while. And you never know when the dishwasher will decide to misbehave...Stove: White ceramic stove one day broke with a sauce pan cooking on top of it... Microwave and stove and oven: they beep and beep and beep, to tell you you are increasing the heat (one beep every time you touch), to remind you infinitely the food is ready, etc. And there is NO way these contacts can be disconnected. Now imagine oven on plus 2 saucepans cooking on the stove for which you have to increase/decrease temp. plus the dishwasher finishing, all at once, every day. How much beeping it makes after a long day at work.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer combo with max load capacity
I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer combo with max load capacity for comforters. This is the biggest set of junk ever. Where to start? There are so many issues, starting with the fact that nothing comes clean, no matter if I even put one small item in it at a time! The fabric softener dispenser is a joke. It runs straight through into your unwashed clothes before the cycle even begins. The dryer never gets the clothes dry on the first cycle. I find that I will rewash the same load of laundry 2 or 3 times and still not be clean and then dry same load 2 or 3 times. I wish Whirlpool had these shoved up their **! Never again will I buy anything by Whirlpool!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Sears in August 2010. Last week, while my wife was washing clothes, we smelled smoke and the washing machine stopped working in mid cycle. Called Sears repair and came out Saturday 10/10/2015 to inspect the machine. When the repairman checked the codes he determined there was a problem with the motor. When he lifted the machine up the capacitor fell out in 2 pieces. It had blown apart and the motor had burned up. The estimated repair bill was $480.00. Needless to say we did not repair the machine. We will never buy another Whirlpool product or any other product that they manufacture under a different name.

This washing machine is awful. It takes twice as long to wash clothes. My older washing machine did clothes in 30 minutes or less. This thing takes over and over stop go, stop go, stop go. Open lid it fills again and removes water, when spinning the lid locks and you cannot open it without unplugging and starting all over again. The wash doesnt even circulate to clean the clothes properly arggghhh. Annoying as all get up. The washer has no control for the water level. The clothes dont have enough water to clean or rinse. I spent over $500 on this and cant get rid of it as most people are selling these on local websites as they hate them as well. Whirlpool thank you for taking my money and producing this junk. Never ever again! I think the seller is also responsible for not telling me what to expect of this junk.

2012 1st year water dispenser stuck, would not stop pouring water until I shut water valve off behind refrigerator. Replaced switch under warranty. 1st year bottom mount freezer stopped working, replaced condenser under warranty. Handle coming off freezer door not replaced. Today Nov 5th past warranty date Oct. 21st 2012. There is ice buildup in bottom of freezer due to a duckbill valve that I just found out about... This is junk and I already replaced the washing machine. Now I am going to replace this fridge if I have to have money to fix this out of pocket. Dont buy whirlpool and i think they make the same thing under other brands like Kitchenaid. My fridge was registered with whirlpool and no one contacted me from whirlpool about the problem they were aware of, to tell me that the valve is free and labor was free for first two years. Now only part is free. What a rip off. My appliances were part of the purchase price of a new home from a developer.

I bought a Whirlpool microwave oven last year. The last one year, it has worked fine. The day after the warranty period was over, the microwave oven is not working .The rotating part is not rotating, so I called your customer care center. They sent one guy to trouble hoot, he said that the rotating part is faulty and I need to spend around Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem .The cost of the microwave oven is Rs. 6,500.00.How can I spend Rs. 3,500.00 to rectify the problem? That too, how it happened the day next to the warranty period. Now, I have a doubt that as I purchased the article in Saravana Store T Nagar/Jayachandran stores in T Nagar, whether I am getting such kind of problem. Because when I purchased, they gave me a lot of gifts. That time itself I suspected.I trusted Whirlpool Company. I heard that Whirlpool Company is good so I purchased a double door fridge 5 years ago. The same problem I had when I purchased the fridge, the day next to my fridge’s warranty period, it happened to me. That time, I did not think like that. But now, the same problem happened to my microwave oven. So, I am suspecting about the genuinity of the Whirlpool Company. I am totally dissatisfied about the product of the Whirlpool. I will give you my microwave oven. You take it freely. You can use my microwave oven for your demo purpose. So that in the future no customers will have problem which I had. Do reply to this mail and let me know when you are going to come and collect the article.

I purchased model #GI7FVCXWY01, SERIAL #KY4234335, and it arrived in Jan 2010. It is now going in the trash! I called the 1-866-698-2538 customer service and so sorry is all you get! By the way, neither of the repair were willing to install the replacement part, as it takes too long to install and these compressors are never the same after the ice maker has these issues! They are paying for parts but not labor. We were told by last repairman that this refrigerator hasnt worked from day one. Passed info to Whirlpool and no comment. We paid a lot of money for an upgraded refrigerator to have it quit in 2 years. Totally not acceptable. On top of this the parts may not work for more than 2 years again. Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer WTW5800BW0 September 2014. Two years and 8 months later it no longer works. Call Sears and Whirlpool and was basically told I should have purchased a warranty. Whirlpool tried to sell me an extended warranty for $495.00 which is about 80% of the original sale price of the washer. Was told it is my responsibility to care for the maintenance of my purchase. WOW. Way to stand by your product. So now its my fault they sell a product that does not last longer than 3 years. So we tried option 2 - called a repairman. His response save your money and buy a new washer. WOW. A repairman rather lose money than try and fix this washer. Save your money and pass on Whirlpool products.

I was under the impression Whirlpool washers were good. Mine always goes off balance and quits. I carefully redistribute the load several times to get it to finish (start over). Sometimes it works fine from the get-go, but not often enough. It is now 2 years old and if I were wealthy, Id shove it to the curb. There is little to like with an appliance that often must be adjusted and re-started. I will try Samsung next. It seems that American brands are not reliable. I have no special needs and will consider reliability above all. The name Whirlpool would be a deal breaker for me. I cannot abide my Whirlpool washing machine as it is more of an aggravation than something useful. Stay away from Whirlpool washing machines. They (at least mine) require the load to be balanced to a microgram. Appliances should just work and not require fiddling with.

I purchased my Whirlpool French door refrigerator about 2 years ago. I shopped around and read reviews before deciding on the Whirlpool. After about 9-10 months the ice maker didn’t seem to produce enough ice. I called the store I purchased it at and tried to get them to come out and find out what was wrong. They waited and waited. I had to call them back at least 2 times before they finally sent someone. But by the time they sent someone to look at it the one year warranty had expired. I spent $1800.00 on this refrigerator and it didn’t even last longer than a year. Of course Whirlpool wanted to come look at it and charge me another $100.00 service call and possibly another $100.00 for parts and labor. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

My electric stove is only four years old. In December, 2021, the control panel broke. Digital read out - numbers can’t be read. Service said it is control panel - can’t be found anywhere. Oven has caught on fire twice. House full of smoke. Whirlpool stated my first mistake was not calling them first. I dont have warranty and couldn’t afford a service call so I have DTE protection plan. They sent about appliance repair at their cost. Man said it is control panel and NONE can be found. Whirlpool can’t send THEIR serviceman for another two weeks. I was told to keep circuit breaker on stove pulled. I am 76 and my husband is 84. We can’t go out to eat every night for two reasons: we are on a fixed income - finances will not allow. Plus we both have health issue so I have to cook/bake a certain way. It is going on three months. We can’t afford a new stove every four years. I want Whirlpool to work out some compensation for my stress, aggravation, loss of bakeware that burned in the oven. Took us two days to clean the oven mess, including the glass door - don’t know how it didn’t explode. We had to run downstairs- at 84, moving fast is not that easy, to pull circuit breaker. I could not make two birthday cakes that I had committed to. Can’t bake or make casseroles. We need help of some kind.

I had a perfectly good Kenmore range, but I didnt like the color. I purchased a Whirlpool 30-inch gas range at Lowes. I had problems immediately! The repairmen were at my house 6 times within the first year. My warranty expired and they wanted me to pay for an extended warranty. I refused to pay any more for this piece of junk! I fought with Whirlpool and demanded they either replace the range or reimburse me the full cost. They finally agreed, after many heated conversations, to replace or reimburse me as long as I promised not to purchase a Whirlpool product again. What kind of company would say that? A company that knows their product is defective and has poor customer service. I opted to take the new range that they promised wouldnt have the same problems. It is having the same issues as the original one. It shuts off in the middle of cooking and it is infuriating to say the least. I can promise Whirlpool I will never purchase a product from them ever again!

Water filtration unit was leaking only when someone got water. It pooled into the bottom of fridge and ran out under the fridge and because of the slope of the floor was running back towards the wall. We didnt notice until our laminate wood flooring was starting to swell up. It was probably leaking since the day we bought fridge brand new, but took us 4 months to notice. Whirlpool said they will not fix our flooring, only the fridge. We had to make a homeowners claim which we did. When the contractor moved the fridge back after replacing all flooring it starting leaking from the ice maker unit. Only when the ice tray filled it would gush out water. Our flooring is now ruined a 2nd time and Whirlpool will not fix the floor. Repairman said that Whirlpool used rigid parts in the water and ice maker units and tons of people are having the same problem. Since there is no flexibility in these parts they break when the fridge is moved. Whirlpool sucks and I am fighting with them and Lowes to get this fridge replaced with a non Whirlpool appliance. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

Purchased the French door bottom freezer 29 cubic ft. refrigerator on Dec. 22, 2012. Ice maker broke Dec. 2, 2013 and it has been downhill since. Replaced it and it broke again on Jan 2, 2014. Been waiting ever since for replacement parts. In the meantime, the freezer went out. Compressor went out. Freezer is as cold as refrigerator at 40 degrees. Lost food out freezer and food molds in refrigerator after a few days. Repairman came to investigate and determined the refrigerator is a lemon and needs to be replaced. Thankfully for the 5-yr extended warranty, it will be replaced, but it has certainly been a headache. Everything shiny isnt gold...

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio) about two months ago and we have been extremely dissatisfied with its performance. Quite simply, it does not get clothes or anything else clean! I have tried every possible setting and still the dirt remains on anything that is even slightly soiled. So, I cant believe that things that dont look dirty are getting cleaned either. They probably arent even getting rinsed, even with the extra rinse option. It seems almost nobody likes this machine, so why is Whirlpool risking their formerly sterling company reputation by keeping it on the market? I would be happy if I could return it to the store for a refund, but that is not a possibility as far as I can tell. If you are considering buying this machine - dont!

Very disappointed with this refrigerator. Not even 10 years old and we have had it repaired 2 times plus my husband had to dismantle ice maker and take the back off inside of the freezer, using the blow dryer to thaw out the tube and manually blow in a tube to open the drain. The water leaking to the bottom of the fridge and into cold meat drawer and fruit keeper drawer. It eventually runs onto the floor if I dont catch it. This has been an ongoing problem for 6 years now. Today was another bill to the repairman for this problem. Very disgusted. This time he only thawed it out, the time before he replaced a part and thawed it out. I know he will be back because thawing is only a temporary fix because my husband did this numerous times, like every couple of months. Never again will I buy a Whirlpool refrigerator! I gave my daughter my old refrigerator and its over 20 years old and never had a repair! My current refrigerator is Model # ETICHMXKB03 with ice maker. Top freezer.

I bought my Whirlpool range in 2009. Good thing I bought an extra warranty because since then, my oven has stopped working about 5 or 6 times. When I turn the oven on, it does the clicking sound, it starts up then it turns off and sometimes it doesnt even turn on. In 2010, I had my turkey ready for the oven at Thanksgiving. I turned on the oven and nothing. I had to cut the turkey and deep fry it. In 2011, same time on Thanksgiving and now Ive been waiting for 2 weeks for the part. I have 4 kids. I need an oven. I cant take this anymore. Also, out of the blue, sometimes the stove top starts clicking on its own and it scares the hell out of us. I have to unplug the stove. Help.

I have the same pilot light problems as everybody else. I pulled the burner unit out, and cleaned, and blew everything out, and took a wire brush to the openings on the floor of the unit. I called customer service, and was asked about ventilation. I didnt mention that the heater still didnt work, even when the door to the tin water heater was removed, so venting is not the likely culprit. She authorized a repair that will likely do nothing from the comments I see.The real problem with their customer service, is the apparent stupidity of the computer system. She asked me for the model and ID number. I had to cut through the extra insulation blanked on the tank to get it. However, when I gave it to her, she then asked me if I was ** and if I live at **. If this information was already in the computer, why couldnt there be a search by my name and address, to get the model and serial number. Obviously, I had registered the water heater in the past. Isnt being able to get this information the reason to register in the first place? Now, I have to replace the extra insulation, all because of a stupid inability to create the necessary searches in their customer database. Yes, I could have written the numbers down, but why have the customer registration at all, if it isnt to be used for anything, other than data mining of the customer base.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool
I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.

In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. I called the service, which is one of the worse experiences I ever had, and was fixed.Soon after, the same part got broken. But I ran out of the warranty. I bought the extended warranty and all the problems started. I was told by one of the Whirlpool representatives that before my warranty will become effective, I have to fix my microwave on my own expense. But in the Whirlpool terms and conditions, it stated clearly that they do not cover if the repairs are made by anyone other than a participating service provider or those recommended.I decided to cancel the warranty after paying the first rate but before it become effective. I fixed the microwave on my own expense with a different repair service, since the one that was recommended by Whirlpool charged almost a half of the amount as I paid for the whole unit.Within the month, the some part got broken again. I called Whirlpool to find out if this is a manufacture problem and is listed as recall. However, Whirlpool did not respond.

Bought a model wdt730pahz in Nov 2017. Up until recently it ran fine and we were very happy. Some folks have reported that the soap dispenser door gets stuck. Same here. In our case we found, when using those detergent pods, to make sure that they are pushed all the way into the dispenser before you close the lid, or the lid jams. Other than that, the dishwasher got the dishes nice and clean. However, after just two years of using it maybe 3 times a week (there are only 2 of us) the motor died. Youd think a new motor ought to survive at least 500 cycles. Anyway, parts and labor was quoted at nearly $400. Debating whether to fix or replace the dishwasher. Might try ordering a motor and pump and replacing it myself.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

I bought this dishwasher in Nov. 2018 to replace one that was barely working. I have enjoyed using it much more than my old one. Its very quiet and does a great job of cleaning dishes, pans and silverware. The only problem we had was installing it. The leveling screws do not hold their height adjustment when the dishwasher is pushed across the floor during installation because the leveling screw pad was changed from steel to plastic and the tapped hole for the leveling screw is too loose. The effect of this - whereas the steel pad would slide the plastic pad will grab, turn and move the leveling screw out of adjustment. Especially if its tapped hole is too loose. So we went to Home Depot and bought 4 5/16 nuts and used them as lock nuts on the 4 leveling screws. This cost 50 cents. Once we installed it everything worked perfectly. It does take longer to complete a cycle than my old one - 3 hours vs. 2 but it uses less water and does a great job of cleaning. You must use a drying agent with your dish soap or it wont get dry enough. Also, if you use the short 1 hour wash it wont have as much time to dry and some dishes wont be completely dry. I usually wait to do a full wash with the normal cycle - 3 hour.

The first was covered under warranty, but no cause of the sheet of ice collection and underside water leakage was identified; I did, however, receive a somewhat patronizing lecture on the importance of thorough reading and comprehension of the owners manual, and a statement that most of my service calls are for customer education. A follow-up service call, a few weeks later and also covered under warranty, identified the cause of the ice collection and water leakage: a faulty duck bill little piece of plastic in the drainage system that is a problem well known to Whirlpool. In mid-June of 2015, the ice maker had to be replaced, to the tune of $360.00. Today, I had a service call ($103.00) and received an estimate of $405.50 to replace the broken freezer drawer slides, which prevent the freezer drawer from fully closing. I will be applying that $405.50 to the purchase of the simplest model, non-Whirlpool refrigerator available, and have the Whirlpool hauled away. Besides the problems noted above, the center of the refrigerator freezes the food, while the freezer compartment arbitrarily defrosts. There are alarm icons that go from blue to red to alert you of the need to replace the (expensive) ice and water filter, refrigerator air filter and crisper freshener. Alarm bells ring to inform you that the doors have been open too long, but nothing alerts you to the fact that the freezer door is not completely shut, or that the freezer has gone into defrost mode because someone inadvertently brushed up against the control panel and changed the settings, or that water is pouring freely out from underneath the appliance. I have had to change my buying habits because fridge holds at least 15% less food, even though it is the same cubic footage as my previous (top freezer) one. Freezer contents easily slip down behind the top freezer drawer and jam the door open. I have to take most frozen boxed items out of their original containers and pack them flat in freezer bags to get enough storage. Some tall bottles do not fit anywhere in the refrigerator compartment, and have to get put in sideways. Even in the absence of mechanical problems, using this refrigerator is like packing and unpacking a suitcase many times a day. While Whirlpool customer service personnel were not overtly rude, there were dismissive and condescending overtones in some of the questions and directives I received from them, and another insinuation that service calls would not be covered under warranty if they end up being for the purpose of customer education. The extended wait (7+ days) for appointments with a Whirlpool-certified appliance repair company, along with the customer education exclusion, were absolute deterrents to the purchase of the extended warranty. Besides my personal disappointment and disgust with the purchase of this appliance, I am sad to see that the Whirlpool brand has slipped so far in product design, quality and customer support.

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

We bought a Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator from Lowes just over two years ago and have had trouble with it starting a year and a half later. It kept freezing up and the top refrigerator compartment wouldnt get cold. We had to defrost it every three months. Now it doesnt even work. This expensive unit is less than two and a half years old and Whirlpool expects us to pay for the repairs. What happened to the days when a refrigerator would last 30 years? I hate to say it but be smart and buy Japanese. At least they take pride in what they make.

This washing machine has not worked well from the time I bought it two year
This washing machine has not worked well from the time I bought it two years ago. It never fills to the amount of water required to clean clothes, it is always off balance, so I need to adjust the clothes at least five times per load. I end up wringing my load out by hand. The clothes come out smelly and not clean. After the cycle is done all the clothes smell like mildew. The other night while doing a load, it made such a loud noise in the motor and started to shake up and down, and then moved forward, like it was going to take off or explode. I tried to do another load, but after it filled and started to agitate, it started to make a loud grinding sound and there were 25 minutes left, then the timer showed 26 minutes left, like the computer in the machine is messed up. I had to empty the water out, wring out a load of clothes including towels, exhausting. The worst part is that the machine is finally paid off, I am a single mother on a disability and I am stuck with this piece of junk. I felt desperate so I looked up Cabrio washing machines to try to figure out what could be wrong, and then I find all these negative reviews, and these owners all have the same issues. Why has there not been a recall, or a class act, who can afford to replace a $700.00 washing machine every three years. I also purchased the Cabrio dryer which cost over $700.00. I do not trust that it will be any better in the long run.I cannot rate this machine as it has been a nightmare from the start. White socks seemed to come out with more dirt than when I put them in, and I am sick of using bleach all the time, the fumes make me feel ill. This is not acceptable, obviously this item is defective, and a prominent company such as Whirlpool should take the loss, not all the victims that paid too much in the first place trusting that Whirlpool was a reputable company, I will never give them my trust or business again. I hope to hear from you, and if there has been a recall or class act legal actions, please let me know as I want to be involved.

My comments are similar to all the other comments on here regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio washer: I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 5 years ago and have been sorry every wash day since. I have to wash my clothes twice because the machine doesnt fill the tub with enough water to get the clothes clean. I have tried using the bulky setting for all loads to try to get the water level high enough to at least cover the clothes. This is a terrible design and the worst piece of junk. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again...

Two Whirlpool washers in six years that the barren in back of tub goes out. When the first one went out in the same month the warranty expired, I was told by a repair man that it was not worth repairing because of the cost. I purchased a brand new Whirlpool and only months later, the same parts are broken on this new front loader. How cheap is the Whirlpool app. made? Whirlpool wants to only send me a tech. to fix washer instead of replacing unit altogether. After all, the unit is only a few months old. I cannot believe I have to deal with this again.

This washer (Cabrio 6th Sense Washer) is less than 4 years old and now needs $500.00 worth of repair. You have to replace the tub in order to replace the bearings. If your washer starts to make noises during the spin cycle, you are in for a big repair bill. I still havent decided if I am going to repair it or junk it. The towels always smell sour even if you wash them twice.

Whirlpool Gold refrigerator WRF989SDAH00. I purchased this French door refrigerator based on past experiences with Whirlpool and sad to say this is not the same quality product I have know Whirlpool for. After the warranty ran out, it died. The first service company I called identified the problem as a known (to Whirlpool) design flaw. They would not touch it and referred me to contact Whirlpool. I did and the company referred me to Dinos Appliance Factory Service (in Phoenix AZ). They came out and confirmed it was a design flaw. They replaced the evaporator and compressor and it lasted about 6 weeks.

Perhaps I am fortunate, but when I read complaints regarding products on the Consumer Affairs site, it makes me wonder because I never have any problems whatsoever with anything I buy. The only time was with a cheap $20 dvd player which lasted just a year. I was given a 10 year old whirlpool fridge 7 years ago. It still works great. Very cold freezer and great features such as frost free freezer. Also Whirlpool Estate budget line dishwasher, washer and dryer ten years ago. No problems! Why do people spend thousands on refrigerators, washers, dryers, and dishwashers? Just buy the basics. It is not important to buy french door refrigerators, dishwashers with stainless-steel interiors, washers/dryers on pedestals and the like. You are only impressing shallow people. All in all, I will always purchase no-frills Whirlpool appliances. They are the best! And you can be like me and have no credit card bills and plenty of money in the bank with the result of low stress.

I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loading HE washing machine and dryer duo in February 2009. I carried an additional extra extended warranty for an extra 3 years. Now, at the dispenser where you add the bleach, it has rusted. The rust has gotten so bad the lid has detached from the body of the machine. I cant understand how a machine less than 4 years old could rust so badly. I called Whirlpool to complain and they suggested I get it repaired and my cost. A car that sits outside in rain, sun, snow and hail does not rust in 3 years. I bought the machines from Home Depot. The way Whirlpool has handled this, I will never buy another Whirlpool.

Four months after purchasing an $1,800 stainless French door fridge it began to not cool even though it was running. I called and was on hold for 45 minutes, then transferred to a different service company that could only come 3 days later. They were here a total of 3 times and each time they could not fix it. It would run for a few days or weeks then die again. Each time I lost a few hundred dollars in food. Each time I was on the phone for almost an hour, and each time it was days later before they would come. Whirlpool refused to refund or swap out the unit. I would have been stuck if it were not for Home Depot finally agreeing to exchange it for an LG.I have never been so upset with any companies customer service in my 45 yrs. The only reason that I am writing this is because my Sony 65 TV died the other day. It was 6 months old and I called Sony. They answered within four minutes and quickly decided to exchange it for a new one and extend my warranty for 2 additional years. There are still decent companies out there. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343
11 months after purchasing my Whirlpool 40 Gal Gas Water Heater N40T61-343 I woke to cold water one morning and found the LED flashing 4 times - high temperature shutdown. Unable to find any reset I called Whirlpool and after a couple questions, was sent a replacement control unit. Happily it arrived 2 days later. I was told then that it was because I had residue in the tank. I had no idea how he determined that because none of his questions even touched on that. Anyway, I had hot water.Nearly a year later now to the day and again I have no hot water. This time the pilot burns very weakly when I try to light it and then goes out. After three attempts I get 7 flashes on the LED - Gas Control Valve Failure, part of the same unit I replaced a year ago. Am calling tomorrow since its too late to go through any tech support steps over the phone that Im reading about on this site and seeing on Youtube. Honestly, I didnt replace the last heater because I had nothing better to do than replace parts on this one annually. No, I will not purchase another Whirlpool unit especially after reading all of the similar if not identical issues others are having.

I agree with all the other reviews listed here! How in the world is a washer to get clothes clean when there is no agitation? Or enough water to even cover the clothes? This is a complete waste of time, one cycle can take an hour or more, because the extra rinse cycle is necessary. And it takes 20 minutes to just sense the load. What a crock. And yes my clothes smell also. Please any recourse besides buying a new washer? Does Whirlpool stand by the product?

Purchased this dishwasher in January 2012, and it stopped working in May 2015. We replaced thermal fuse a year ago and just had to replace the control panel. It worked for 1 day and through 2 wash cycles, but during the 3rd wash cycle, it failed to drain and no power again, which is the same problem we had before. We opted to also replace the control board, just to be safe. Lol. What a piece of junk! Whirlpool is a pathetic excuse for a company, and, judging from others experiences with the customer service department, we will not bother contacting these ** since they clearly have no interest in providing any service at all to their customers. I have had many other lower end dishwasher models, and all of them worked well past the 5 - 10 year mark and never stopped working or required any service. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER APPLIANCE FROM WHIRLPOOL AND HAVE SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE I KNOW. Good luck, Whirlpool. I do not expect they will be around in 10 years. Lol. Do not give your hard earned money to these idiots for the junk that they peddle, and please let your local appliance dealer know why you wish to purchase any other brand BUT Whirlpool. Consumers are not stupid, Whirlpool! You are ignorant for banking on that and should be shut down for your unfair business practices, not to mention misrepresentation of your despicable products.

Brand new dishwasher and first time I started it I noticed the timer showed the cycle taking over 3 hours. When done I opened the door and there was some water in the bottom and the door was very wet. Dishes had not been washed. A glass that had turned upright had no water in it. The soap pod was still intact. I started over again and the same thing happened - two more times. The silverware is not clean either. Its going back!!! I’ve had this washer since October 2018. Worst purchase ever. It does not clean the clothes nor does it put enough water in it. I’ve tried the deep water option too and it’s for sure still not enough. I don’t understand how they even thought that this was perfectly fine to sell. If I could’ve taken it back a month after having it, I for sure would. And no one will buy it because they’ve read reviews of how it’s terrible. I wasted $900 on this washer. I have the dryer also which works amazing. The washer just sucks something terrible. My husbands military uniforms always look dirty and a lot of the clothes aren’t ever wet. I’ve finally seen a picture of how you’re supposed to have clothes in there. Why in the world would you only allow barely a layer of clothes at the very bottom to be cleaned by the agitator? Why would you have this huge drum only to put not even a load in there? This was such a waste Whirlpool and I’m glad I’m not the only person who has the same issue. I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer, it’s upsetting I can’t currently get rid of this crap washer I have now.

Purchased a Cabrio Top Loading Washer and Dryer 3 years ago from Lowes and our clothes have NEVER even come close to coming clean without spending a ton on stain removing aids, which only work part time. So I approached the salesperson at Lowes and I was informed (after the fact) that the Cabrio top loaders had poor ratings due to the fact the basket only spun 30 times a minute whereas the front loaders spun 300 times a minute. So after 3 years Im forced to bite the bullet and purchase another washer. Ever since they purchased Maytag, their quality control has gone down the crapper. Now Im going back to the old reliable, the agitator washer. Newer is not better in this case.

Purchased on 9/12 at Home Depot. Ice maker paid for as stated in ad for home depot, did not come with fridge. Tech needed for warm food, had to repair gasket. Tech needed for cracked handle. 6 calls for freezing food in fridge compartment. No resolve. Whirlpool wanted a 2nd opinion and another tech came deeming the fridge unrepairable. Not good enough for Whirlpool. After speaking to several customer service agents, they said they do not refund or replace, only repair. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food from freezing. My fridge is reading at 31 deg. This is way below what it is supposed to read at. No call from Whirlpool since last tech came. Their customer service is terrible and cold. Whirlpool Corp. was not any help either. You can see the problem with this model if you look up Whirlpool fridge freezing food in Florida, as a woman there called ABC news and they reported it. I have had this unit less than a year and started having pilot problems. I would just relight and ask family members to take shorter showers or not run the washing machine or dishwasher at the same time. I would have to relight the pilot 3-4 times a year and would just tolerate. Now the water heater fails on a daily basis. In the last four weeks, my wife would say NO HOT WATER AGAIN. I am so tired of dealing with this, so last night, I called Whirlpool and associate was polite but gave me a lot of things that I should do (43 yrs a pipefitter). Before all was said and done, he is shipping me a new gas valve (at my expense) that I will gladly install to get rid of this problem. I had my washing machine for about 10 days before it stopped working. I did about 4 loads of laundry. We have had 3 repair people come check it out, all referred by Whirlpool. They each had a different theory on why it wasnt working properly. Im now waiting for parts to be delivered and then service to be scheduled. When I contacted customer service, I was told (after waiting on hold for about 1 hour) that it was customer misuse. Ahem, first I heard that, and I think I know how to use a washing machine. I asked to speak with a supervisor. More waiting. Tina (#**) told me she will contact the service company about the parts. I told her to please conference me in on the call because I want to hear the outcome (and I dont want to wait another 1+ hour to reach customer service again). She put me on hold and then disconnected me! Really, all this time and 3 service people... Would be cheaper to just replace the machine altogether. What a headache!

Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 2016. Since week two, they have been a constant problem (i.e. not enough water to even get clothes wet, forget about clean; gulping soap from the dispenser; rubbing holes in clothing; putting rust on washed items). The dryer NEVER gets the clothes dry; no matter what setting they always come out damp, even after Ive put them through for two cycles.Three separate repairmen have come to work on the washer replacing sensors and the entire control board. It worked fine for two weeks, now its back to guzzling soap. (It is supposed to do up to 12 loads on one refill of detergent. I get two per refill. Ridiculous! Soap isnt cheap!) And, today it ruined brand new bathroom mats with rust all over them that I had to hand wash to try and remove without much success. At this point I would advise anyone looking for new appliances to try any other major brand and NOT Whirlpool. As soon as I can get the money, these are being junked and Im NEVER buying Whirlpool anything again!
