Every washer Ive ever had has just a spin. Why dont these new washers? If the washer is un-level why would you add more water? They need a spin cycle to drain the water out of it. No more rinse and spin just a spin. Very aggravated.

I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! If I could I would rate this fridge and Whirlpool’s repair and customer service a NEGATIVE 100. My wife and myself purchased this refrigerator on 6/2/19. On 6/16/19 we noticed that it was not cooling as should, we called in to set up a repair service call only to find out that we had to wait until 6/20/19 to have a service tech come out to look at the refrigerator. When the service person came out to look at it he stated that it needed a sensor??? And that they would have to wait until the evaporator thawed out to replace the sensor. We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling. Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. If I could I would return this defective unit and buy a different brand of refrigerator. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! I will make sure that I let everyone I know that I would never recommend a Whirlpool product!!

I bought a Whirlpool model # WRF757SDEM. It has failed twice in 7 months. The tops temperature hovers at 54 degrees Fahrenheit. The freezer works fine. I had a whirlpool fridge for 10 years before I bought this one and never had trouble with it. This particular model seems to have a design flaws according to other reviews I saw on this site that read similar to mine. We are waiting on parts. This is the second time in 6-7 weeks that it breaks down.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater 5 years ago and after one year I had to replace the thermocouple every 3 months. Each time I call to complain, they would just send me a new thermocouple. I asked them several times to replace the item and they refused and just continued to send me replacement parts and refuse to honor their warranty. The water heater had some type of defect, but they still refuse to replace the item and did admit on the phone they have records of several parts that they sent.

Bought Whirlpool refrigerator Model GB2FHDXWS from Best Buy in July, 2012. I began freezing up immediately. Called Best Buy. They replaced it. Now the second one quit. Freezer doesnt work. Refrigerator motor works constantly. Called Whirlpool and was informed unit only has one year warranty. Got an estimate to repair it. Evidently, sealed unit needs to be replaced at $700. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. Will not deal with a company that will not stand by its products.

Piece of crap! Approximately 18 months of aggravation. Clothes don’t come clean, leaves residue on them. Just absolutely the worst experience I have had in six plus decades of doing laundry. When next I get a washer...it won’t be a Whirlpool or anything made by the company. There should be recalls on these washers.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in October 2010 and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We had two worthless calls to Whirlpool and all the regular brain-dead suggestions that do not improve function. We have had a technician out to our home and we have the extended warranty. The technician stated that the machine will never function properly and Whirlpool knows this. The low water level prevents washing, rinsing. The problems with the washing machine are many and the required multiple washes and rinses make the claim for low energy usage false advertising. It leaves white streaks on dark clothes constantly and has residue on everything from sheets to silks, no matter the cycle. Theres not enough water which covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. According to the technician, these complaints are what they respond to all day, everyday. There is no mechanical fix for this design flawed machine. If you are looking at buying this machine, dont! The machine has ruined lots of laundry. Do not waste your money or your time. I would like my money back. The Whirlpool company definitely plays dumb on the customer service calls. Its a non-functional washer as it damages laundry and has false claim for low energy usage.

I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years
I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years and up until a few months ago I LOVED the washer. I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!

I dont recommend this product to anyone. When you try to clean the washer it leaks out the bottom. After 2 years of use it now beeps 9 - 10 times and I have to reset it after each beep to get it to run. Then in the middle of the rinse cycle it does the same thing all over again. What a piece of junk. Plus it does not rinse well at all. Leaves a white residue on my blankets. NOT recommended at all.

Clothes come out of washer are soaking wet. Despite multiple repairs within the warranty period (1 year), the problem was not fixed. Each time a separate part was replaced. I would consider this as a manufacturer defective product. Despite multiple complaints to Whirlpool customer service, they would not replace the unit. My double ovens were locked and I could not open them. A repair man came, undid the latch, but did not have the replacement part. He ordered it and came back two weeks later to replace the latch. I paid the required $159.00 for the service call. In the meantime, I could use the bottom oven without any problem. He replaced the latch and discovered it was defective. In removing it, he damaged the ribbon in the control panel. He came back and put in a new latch, but now neither of the ovens would work because the control panel was inoperative. An attempt was made to order the control panel, but the control panel is no longer made. Instead, an attempt was made to repair the control panel. This took 4 weeks, and meant that I did not have an oven for Thanksgiving and had to totally rearrange my plans. Now I am told that the panel is not fixable and the best they can do is offer me a prorate on a new oven in which I would be charged $1374.00. I find this outrageous. Except for the latch, an easily repaired mechanical problem, the ovens were in excellent working order. Now I am being told that due to the problem caused by their repair person, I must pay $1374.00. I spoke to Stephen **, their customer service supervisor, who said that I have no further recourse with the company and there is no one else I can speak to regarding this problem.

I will be brief. Bought Whirlpool ref. model #WRF560Smywo4 on April 15, 2016. The refrigerator quit work July 29, 2016. Called Whirlpool. They responded they had no repairman in our area. After several calls they scheduled a repairman. He came and put on a part. It did not work. Called Whirlpool again. They sent the same repairman. He stated it needed a new compressor. A week later he arrived with the part (August 12, 2016). As of now the refrigerator is working. Now this was two (2) weeks without a refrigerator. This has been a bad experience. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT PURCHASE ONE.

I am following washing instructions exactly, using HE detergent, loading the right amount, I even tried using PODS. I tried different temperature water, different cycles of washing and spinning and the same thing happens. I had an old Maytag that broke that cleaned beautifully. Terrible wash machine. Some clothes come out having never even gotten wet. The spin cycle ties your clothes in knots so bad you have to machine dry them because the wrinkles are ridiculous. I’m all for saving water but if your clothes don’t get wet, how are they going to get clean? Also can’t do just a rinse and spin cycle. I would rate zero stars if I could. Don’t waste your money on this junk! Wish I could buy an old fashioned Maytag. Those washers were the best!

Our whirlpool gas range has a defect - the material around the control panel is peeling and flaking; it is not possible to clean it and it is likely going to get into our food. It has not been cleaned with anything harsh - I use warm soapy water or stainless steel cleaner. I use the same thing on my other appliances and they look fine. I am waiting for a tech to come and look at it but after reading other complaints I fear that they are going to say it is cosmetic and it is not covered. Sadly, we can no longer wipe the control panel if it is dirty because the stainless steel is flaking off and it gets all over the burners and I am concerned it will get into our food. I am willing to bet the paint that is flaking off is not approved for consumption.I wish I had our old Frigidaire Gallery Series range back. I regret replacing it. Whirlpool was not helpful. They told me to contact the place I purchased it. The place I purchased it said it is a manufacturers defect. Someone suggested painting it with stainless steel colored spray paint which sounds like it is going to look awful. The new panel is $148 but it will need to be installed and if there is a defect how often will I have to replace it? I am very disappointed.

Purchased at Lowes and within days of installation the water would heat up so hot that it would spit and spew out of kitchen sink (10 away) and be so hot you couldnt hold your hand under it. Returned to Lowes and they reluctantly replaced it. I should have bought a different brand but I felt confident that it was just a faulty thermostat. Second one did the same. Tested different settings and it seemed to work ok but a few days later it was scalding hot again. Tech support kept telling me that water heaters are intended to be used or they are like a kettle of water sitting on a flame. I told them they were crazy to think a small pilot light could heat 40 gallons to scalding temp.Guess what? I left the heater on the pilot setting and with 40 fresh cold gallons in it. I returned 24 hours later to find it scalding hot again. I got down and looked through the view window and I couldnt believe the size of the pilot light. It is the biggest pilot light I have ever seen. It blows like a mini blow torch! And there is no adjustment. This is a serious engineering flaw and extremely dangerous. This heater is at my father-in-laws house and he probably doesnt use 5 or 10 gallons a day but still, NO WATER HEATER SHOULD EVER HEAT WATER TO A SCALDING TEMPERATURE WITH ONLY A PILOT LIGHT!!!

I purchased my Whirlpool Gold series french door refrigerator 3 years ago. I bought Whirlpool because it being an American company and a brand I thought I would be pleased with. Wrong! I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. Thank goodness I bought the extended warranty! Just a year old, my ice maker stopped working. Then, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Circuit boards were replaced, fan motors, etc. over $1500.00 in parts and labor and the entire summer to have it fixed. This past August, ice maker stopped working again. Then, stopped cooling. I am now at week 6 without a functioning refrigerator. While I am thankful I have an extended warranty, through the store that I purchased this refrigerator, I am not thrilled with the amount of time that has passed between each visit and the fact that it is the exact same parts that are once again being replaced. This refrigerator is a LEMON. Do not buy this brand.

This Whirlpool washing machine is incredibly annoying and slow in everything it does. First off when you press the START button it takes 2-3 minutes before it decides to do anything, like maybe add water (except click, click and more click). If you have pressed the start button and you want to stop it to add something... again you have to wait almost 2-3 minutes before the lock is released and you can open the door. I am at 2 hrs and 15 minutes as I write this on the LIGHT WASH cycle with extra rinse and its still going. I have never seen anything like it. Cant imagine how long a HEAVY CYCLE takes. Cannot even try to measure the time. I put the load in and go to work and hope its complete when Im done 8 hrs later. We had a Maytag for 15 years with no issues (other than a drain hose cracked and had to be replaced) and it was time for a new one with a move to a new place. The sales associate convinced us this was the best machine at the time... Well what a mistake that was. There are no complaints about the actual washing. Everything comes out clean but I suppose taking that long I cant imagine why it wouldnt. I certainly cant recommend a Whirlpool washer to a friend, because I dread the thought of doing laundry at this point.

I purchased my new washing machine in September 2011. When I removed the clothes from the washer after the first wash, I noticed that there was soap on several of the items. I ran them through another rinse and spin cycle, and there was still soap on several items. In an effort to avoid this problem, I no longer use the soap dispenser tray, and use the bulky cycle to get more water in the tub. Like most of the others, the clothes are tangled and stretched from one side of the tub to the other. Also, it takes 1 hour and 36 minutes to run a complete cycle. The manager of Sears tells me, that because of government regulations, that in a few years, you will not be able to buy any other type of washer. I purchased this machine, because it was highly recommended by Consumers Report magazine. I filed a complaint with them eight days ago, but have not had a response.

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. The time came and the customer service now tells us that the breakdown happened the same month we purchased the warranty so we would have to pay ourselves to have it fixed. We went ahead and paid for the repair.A few mos after the ice maker stopped again and the bottom freezer would not freeze anything. Our food spoiled etc. We called Whirlpool now that the warranty was now ok. We had to wait for an appointment with the company of their choice. The repairman came and stated that the part had to be ordered before we can get ice and freezer working. Waited almost 2 weeks for that. Repair done and soon after, like 4 days later we still didnt have ice. Called again, another company was sent... all over again we waited for 2 parts.. He assured us that we should be good. 2 mos now were getting half capacity ice and freezer doesnt freeze everything. Ice cream is a no no.So much money (2500 dollars) paid for that piece of junk. The repairman told us “forget about replacement, the company will send a repairman once a month if they have to“. Its frustrating and some days I wish I could just put it on the sidewalk for the garbage truck. I cant afford to go out and buy a new one (of course it would not be Whirlpool). In the meantime this company Whirlpool is making all this money from selling these junk. I am mad like hell and tell everyone to stay away from Whirlpool. I wish Id purchased a Samsung instead. I could climb the top of a mountain and shout: Dont buy Whirlpool.

I had my entire kitchen re-modeled in May of 2013 and purchase all new Whirlpool appliances. I work for Standard Pacific Homes and purchase the identical appliances we provide in our homes. I am so disappointed in the refrigerator. Two months ago it stopped making ice and I was told to replace the filter and it would be OK. I did that and still no ice. I bought ice trays. A couple of days ago, I came home to find water on my kitchen floor coming from under the refrigerator. I called Whirlpool again and no real help.... Told me to call Lowes. I called Lowes and they gave me 3 more numbers to call for service. None of those service providers had any available appointments and told me to call Whirlpool. Meanwhile my refrigerator is standing in the middle of my kitchen so I can keep the water mopped up. The refrigerator was so difficult to move. Getting the feet moved up so the wheels could touch the floor took an hour and I ended up with bruised hands. My lesson in this is to buy a better brand next time and go top of the line. I sell these to our buyers at Standard Pacific Homes everyday..... Wish I could believe in the product.

I have a Cabrio washing machine that is just barely two years old. I have already spent over $500 on repairs/service calls. The first repair was the drum which cost $300 + to repair. Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. I have never been so frustrated with a product I thought was a reliable brand, not!

November 4, 2017 we purchased a 2018 Tiffin RV with a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the RV refrigerator until our first trip to Florida January 2018. Immediate problems with the freezer icing up on freezer door and icing up in the top 2 shelves of refrigerator. Milk, fruit, even cheese froze in the top of the refrigerator. Bottom freezer door froze so bad I had to yank on the drawer very hard to even get it open & chunks of ice would fall off the door on the floor outside once it opened. Called Whirlpool warranty service phone number two times 2/16/2018. I wont go into all the details but we were on hold for a 90 minutes and were transferred 7 times by the automated system. Talked to one person, Lindsey, who immediately transferred me again to RV Dept. No one ever answered. System kept saying, Please wait. Then just disconnected and another recording came on saying to call back. We did not after this fiasco! February 19, 2018 we called Tiffin MH & told them about the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from Whirlpool. They told us to call Sears in Sebring, FL. We did. If we wanted Whirlpool service to bring the motorhome to them & the warranty only covered parts NOT labor or service calls. They did not want to work on it. March 13, 2018 We went to Tiffin MH Service in Red Bay, AL. Earl called Whirlpool tech, Steve, & tried to explain the problem. Steve told him he did not talk on speaker phone & told him very hatefully to put him on the private line. Steve just very angrily insisting that Earl had him on speaker phone. I do not understand Whirlpools Steve issue with being on speaker phone? Finally Earl got him to listen to our refrigerator problems as he stood there at the refrigerator going through each issue step-by-step. Steve said to put silicon in the seal & that Whirlpool WOULD NOT replace a 3 month old refrigerator that actually had only been used 2 months. We found out later Tiffin is going to replace the refrigerator.

I purchased a Whirlpool range YGY399LXUQ in 2012 from a great local appliance store, Trail Appliances. In 2013 the control panel stopped working and I contacted Trail. They quickly came out and replaced the control panel. In 2014 the same issue came up, but Trail could and would not do anything so I contacted Whirlpool Directly - they came out and replaced the control panel. In 2015 (same month) the control panel is not working AGAIN and Whirlpool has washed their hands of it. A replacement is over $400 + installation. The stove is barely worth that much. I would have thought that they would stand behind their product, in that this is an obvious continual issue or at the very least the service that they provide. I would not recommend their ranges to anyone because they will not stand behind what they product nor will I ever purchase anything that Whirlpool makes as it is obviously low quality.

Quiet Partner II - Our dishwasher racks started to crack and rust very quickly, about two years after purchase. We repaired the racks and tines, but the rust got worse. We replaced our dishwasher today with another brand. Many of the tines on the drying rack had rusted and broken off. We have been told to only purchase Nylon racks. I hope this is good advice. I must admit I had no trouble with the machine as far as cleaning my dishes. I just felt the racks should last longer than two years. Cost to replace racks was about the same as replacing the whole machine.

My Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6600SG2) is a money pit! After reading all of the nightmare stories concerning this washer one would think Whirlpool would offer a recall and try to correct their wrong doing. Do not buy a Whirlpool Cabrio. It was the worst decision I have ever made! Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. I cant believe they can get away with treating their customers so unfairly, taking their hard earned money for crap like this, then not offering to help after so many have had issues. The Cabrio is loud, doesnt get clothes clean, and is always flashing UL for uneven load (when it works at all). My local repairman has made many trips to fix my problem Cabrio. This time he is at a loss. Ill be buying a new washer and it will not be made by Whirlpool! Please, if you are reading this be forewarned!! You will regret your purchase if you buy a Whirlpool Cabrio.

Three years ago I bought a bottom freezer Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowes. Two days after it was installed, I noticed a pool of water on the kitchen floor. This happened again. I called Lowes and they brought out another refrigerator, same make and model, and took the first one away. A year later the same thing happened. I had it repaired - quite an ordeal for the technician. He had to order a part and found it difficult to actually get into the freezer. Now after a year and a half approximately the same thing is happening. I cant afford to continue the repair bills and dont like the inconvenience (what if this happens when Im away from home?). The pool of water is substantial - its as though the defrost is simply emptying through the front of the freezer onto my floor.

I purchased Whirlpool gas range. After approximately 1 year, it has repeated problems with oven failing to maintain temperature. The unit would remain on, with the bake on still showing. But the temperature would decrease to the point of not cooking the food. The 24th Capital Refrigeration came out and said he ordered the parts, they would likely be there on the on Fri. the 28th. On the 5th the parts werent in yet. On the 5th of July I called Whirlpool to find out whats going on and the parts were on backorder. They would expedite the parts. The parts came in the 12th. Our Whirlpool refrigerator was delivered on the 24 of Jan. It quit working on the 19th of June so we called Lowes. They hooked us up with Whirlpool. They sent a tech the 24th. He (Mike with Capital Refrigeration) left saying he ordered the parts and they would likely be in on that Friday the 28th. I call Lowes on Mon. the 1st. They hooked me up with Whirlpool and they said the parts were being shipped that day and should be to Capital Refrigeration on Fri. the 5th. I called on the 5th and now the parts are on backorder (they didnt know they didnt have the parts). So the parts came in on the 12th. Capital Refrigeration came out, installed all new circuit boards. That didnt work, still no fridge (he suggest replacing the fridge but Whirlpool says no). So he orders new parts. He comes out on the 17th and installed new parts (coils and stuff). It worked for 3 days and quit again, I lost my food again. I call Lowes again. They hook me up with Whirlpool. They say theyre sending a different company. On the 19th A1 Quality Appliance calls, set up appointment for 23rd. The come out and say they are ordering the parts on the 25th. They say that Whirlpool said parts would arrive Mon. the 29th. On the 30th A1 Quality said the parts arent in but they have us scheduled for Wed. the 31st. NO PARTS. I called whirlpool and now I find out again they dont even have the parts again (they dont know they dont have the parts). They are on backorder and in a week call them to see if they have found the parts yet.So at the end of a week (the 7th of Aug.) Whirlpool said to call and see if they found this part yet (maybe not). It will have been 7 weeks without a fridge that broke when in use less than 5 months. They have told us the parts would be here 3 times and then find out all these parts have been on backorder every time. The 1st repairman Mike at Capital Refrigeration advised to replace the unit but they are still dragging this out. They did send us $150 for the inconvenience (not for all the food we lost). It would appear it will be 2 months before we have a refrigerator again if we are lucky. Whirlpool is a very poor company that has misled us several times and are still doing so. We purchased their refrigerator, double stacked oven, microwave and dishwasher and are very sorry. They say they record the calls if there is any doubt about my facts.

Finally, they agreed to replace a new one. Now I still have the same problem with a newer one which they replaced it over a year ago (including fixing and placing time). Just called to the Whirlpool company today for fixing or replacing, spoke to rep Sara, she said that it’s no longer under warranty because it’s more than 1 year. I told her that because the company didn’t replace right away; therefore, it has been more than 1 year; but from the time they replaced it, it hasn’t been 1 year. The washing machine is making inviolable noise. I had purchase a semi-auto Whirlpool washing machine from Lotus Koh-e-fiza, Bhopal two months ago. Initially, the company sent a man for demonstration, and at that time, the machine was making a sound and the mechanic removed his back plate and his components and saw that the plate of heating rod is unscrewed. He temporarily tightened that plate with normal screw, and after two months, the same sound is coming again. At present, we are not using the product for the past 5 days and launched a complaint to customer care. The call attender said that the problem will be solved in 20 hours but no one came within 4 days. Today, 21 September 2011, I called to customer care. He was telling me that the complaint has been attended by our attender and at present, no complaint is pending. The washing machine is in warranty period and I am not satisfied with the service of Whirlpool. MODELGR673LXOQ WHIRLPOOL RANGE - I purchased this range in January 2014. It is a good-looking range with a ceramic top and a convection oven. It has burned more food in a year than I had burned in several years. The top burners get red hot no matter where you have them set. They turn on very hot, then turn off and after a while they are red hot again. Cooking anything that requires a medium or less heat burns to the pan bottom. The oven works alright as a regular oven but when put on convection it burns the food closest to the fan before the rest is cooked. The company sent a technician to check the stove. He checked the temperature of the oven and said it was running too hot. He changed that setting and the first time I tried to bake it took forever. I reset the oven back to where it had been. The tech made no attempt to check the top burners as he said they couldnt all be bad. I hate this stove I had my former stove for thirty years and never had problems with it.

I felt compelled to write this review, to sum it up NEVER buy ANY Whirlpool, KitchenAid etc brand. Nothing but the worst experience, it all started with a 5 year old Whirlpool fridge that stopped cooling, I called and they said they could send someone for like 200$ and that it does not guarantee it will be fixed. So I called an independent and he tried to refill the freon, but it was leaking behind the fridge in a section you cannot access because they want you to buy another one, so 5 year old fridge in the garbage and now to top it off, a KitchenAid knife set that is barely used, one of the big knives broke cutting a fruit, and good luck in any circumstance getting any customer service. SO NEVER AGAIN, TRUST ME AND PUT YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE ON ANY OTHER COMPANY.

There is a chronic and well-known problem with recent French door, bottom freezer refrigerators sold by Whirlpool, including the the brand names KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag, and Amana. The problem is caused when the defrost drain freezes, preventing defrosted water from reaching the evaporation pan. After enough water builds up, it overflows along the front of the refrigerator. In my particular case, we have wood floors and they were ruined by the water. After doing some investigation on the internet, I have learned that this problem affected approximately 1,500 model numbers sold under these names. These model numbers are listed in a Technical Service Pointer issued by Whirlpool. In August 2013, after experiencing several years of problems with these units, Whirlpool issued a Technical Service Pointer W10632338, advising service technicians that a new P Trap drain tube kit was now available, and suggesting that the defective duck bill check valve should be replaced by this new part. The problem for years had been that the rubber duck bill check valve would, over time, become sticky (or tacky) and would then not open - causing water to build up above it. Eventually, the water would freeze and since newly defrosted water could no longer escape, it would build up and eventually overflow. From what Ive seen online, plus a conversation with the Sears technician who come out to diagnose and repair my leak, I am convinced there are many thousands of customers who have experienced this problem. Because it takes a while for the rubber check valve to become sticky and no longer open, it is not uncommon for the problem to not appear until after the standard one-year warranty has expired. From reports, Whirlpool has sometimes acknowledged the problem and effected repair of refrigerators no longer under warranty. But what about those customers, like me, who have experienced water damage to floors and cabinets? Shouldnt Whirlpool be liable for those repairs, too? Id be interested to know if anyone knows of plans for a class action lawsuit.

We purchased the Cabrio Agi top loading washing machine in 2011 (3 years ago). After 2 years it started leaking from the plastic drum (Bearings?). Luckily we have it in the basement on concrete floor, so there was no damage, just frustration. This was poor purchase on our part. We should have searched for more reviews. The wash time is ridiculous; it is too long, an average of 50 minutes per load. I dont know about how clean the clothes were, I guess they were OK. I didnt notice a smell, or them looking dingy. The Cabrio is a piece of junk if the bearings went out after 2 years?? We just purchased a heavy duty Speed Queen, top loading, agitator washer. My wife loves this, its like the old Maytag we had. In the past couple weeks the freezer has stopped freezing and after calling Whirlpool I was told I was out of luck and would have to pay full retail price to get the problem fixed. This will be the last Whirlpool product I ever buy.

We purchased a higher end cabrio model only 3 years ago. Last year, on about every 5th cycle, the load would not spin at the end. Id have to remove all the wet clothes, set it to drain and spin, start it and wait for it to hopefully kick in. When I do it right, it kicks into the spin mode. I had to quickly press start/stop to unlock the hatch and reload the soaking wet clothes and wait for it to spin properly. Yesterday the same thing happened again. This time, it did not kick in. I ended up flipping the washer over and taking a look underneath. I discovered that the motor was seized. It had lost all its lubricating oil and smoked the belt. Now, my 3 year old washer is sitting in the driveway awaiting a trip to the dump since I got fed up and went out and purchased a new Samsung top loader. I emailed and called whirlpool with no luck. Not impressed. When I went out to buy a washer today the first thing I told the salesman was to stick anything with the name whirlpool out in the trash bin out back.

I bought my microwave on Dec. 8, 2010 and paid to have it installed. On June 29, 2011, the microwave quit heating anything up so I called Whirlpool. They sent a technician out and he repaired the magnetron. The tech said it was defective. I accepted that but then on Nov. 8, 2011, the microwave quit again, same problem. I called Whirlpool and told them I thought it was a lemon and wanted it replaced but they refused and said that they paid to have it fixed. They came out and fixed it. Same problem, the magnetron. Well, here we are another six months later, it has quit again. I have been on the phone with Whirlpool. I spoke to a lady named Barbara and she said even though its out of warranty, they would be willing to pay for the parts, not the labor. Of course, labor is more than the parts. So, I asked her whats going to happen another six months from here on. When it goes out again, she said that that was it. They werent paying for any more parts. I asked her for her supervisors number. She advised me to write a letter and someone would call me. Well, a lady named Donna did call and she told me the same thing. They would pay for parts but not labor and the offer was only good for 30 days. Also, I have the tech talk to their techs but she didnt have the number and maybe they could find the problem. Well, the problem is its defective. Thats all there is to it. We could fix it over and over again but its going to keep burning out. I told Donna surely I cant be the only one complaining about this microwave and her response was theres no recall on it. Something needs to happen. This cant be right. We spent hard-earned money on this product and shouldnt have such a problem every six months.

I purchased a gas hot water heater from Whirlpool. I have had problems with it since it was new. Whirlpool kept sending repair parts, which I installed, until the warranty expired. Now they say “Sorry Charlie, the warranty has expired.” The water heater has never been fixed. They just dragged it along until the warranty expired. Whirlpool has no complaint department or the repair place will not give it to you. They told me there would be no use for a complaint department. They would just tell the same thing the repair was telling me.

I have a Whirlpool double oven. When I attempted to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the bottom oven stopped cleaning in the middle of the cycle. I had a repairman out and he replaced the thermal fuse in the back of the oven. It cost $85. I didnt attempt to clean it again for another few months since I dont use the bottom oven often. When I did attempt to use the self-clean feature according to manufacture instruction, the same thing happened. I called the repairman and he said that the thermal fuse would blow every time I tried to clean the oven, because of the way the oven was manufactured. I contacted Whirlpool and they were not at all helpful. I intend to contact them again.

This product is unsafe and should be recalled. It has aluminium wires that connect the unit to the 220 Vol Power source. Aluminium and copper wire dont mix. I took a shower and was getting ready to leave for the day when I went into my garage to smell burning plastic and wires. I traced it to the hot water heater and discovered the wires in the Energy Smart were melted and burned. I checked with Two Electricians who told me that the wires in the unit can not handle the high heat and melt. If you have one get rid of it. Had I left for the day I would have lost my home, cars and pets. If anyone would like to see this unit I still have it and photos.

Completely disgusted and angry with Whirlpool! We own a Cabrio and just after 1.5 years of owning it the stupid washer has broke down. It wont spin or rinse or wash! Pretty sure its the bearings as I have seen several peoples complaint about this same issue! I contacted Whirlpool to only be told that they only offer 1-year warranty and after that the consumer is out of luck. They only stand behind their products for 1 year and after that its on you! They refused to help me in any way including sending someone out to look at it! Im very upset and will never buy another product of theirs! They need a class action lawsuit brought against them!

We have nothing but trouble with this range from day one and out-of-pocket cost for service calls that were recommended by whirlpool. They were absolutely no help. Expensive piece of crap! I will recommend NOT TO BUY ANY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS. The electronics suck big time! I kicked the Jenn Air out the door and to the land fill. My oven had been temperamental since day one, then got worse over time. I do not use my oven that much so was not really worried or alarmed until a tray of cookies caught fire. It was set at 350 and jumped to 525 on its own. (I bought an oven thermometer to monitor) Minor burn taking tray out but all okay :-). Contacted Lowe’s where we bought it and they would do nothing (note: at this point the oven is 15-months old and out of warranty). Advised me to contact Whirlpool. Did that - they sent out a repair service and they determined it was the temp. sensor. It is now April 2014 and I am still waiting for the part (this all started Sept 2013). I have since talked and wrote to Whirlpool for this to be resolved and also asked that the range be recalled due to fire hazard at the least! When I spoke to them in December, they said they could give me ‘50% off the part’. Remember I am still waiting for that part, lol! After writing corp h/q, they said “Sorry, since we cant get the part why not have someone come in and take the old part out and have it rebuilt.” I ask you Whirlpool w/q would you be happy with that??? Will post any follow-ups... would love to hear from anyone else with this problem - model # GFE461LVS. Great day everyone. :-)

I bought the new Whirlpool aqua clean last year - they guaranteed me at the store it would clean as I explained having a clean oven at all times was extremely important to me. They assured me I would be pleased with the results. I have never disliked an oven as much as I do this one. The tech came to the house and checked the temperature of the oven as I also complained it was baking uneven (the back was overcooked while the front was underbaked) but the temperature was right on so nothing can be done. As far as the cleaning goes all I can get is a new bottom pan for the oven as I have four years of insurance. Not happy as I would like to have a different stove. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS OVEN TO ANYONE.

Whirlpool Washing Machine Model WTW4950XW0 - This washing machine was purchased as a gift by my father. We have owned this machine for about 2 years. I am very disappointed with the quality of this machine. I have 3 children and several pets. I use my machine a lot and need a quality item that will last. This machine is not that item. Within a few months, the machine was off balance and bolts had to be tightened. We have had problems with the belt, bolts coming loose and the machine not draining.More recently, the machine has become very loud... For approximately the last 6 months. My husband has taken the machine apart and looked for anything to be wrong with it and has found nothing. Now the machine is not running. I will turn it on and it fills with water and then stops. I will clear it out and restart it and it does the same thing. Another issue has been with spinning and draining. The clothes are soaking wet even after the drain/spin cycle.I have researched what could possibly be wrong with this machine and have found a vast number of items that could need replaced. With the money I have already put into fixing this machine in the past and the amount it will cost to fix it this time, I believe I will be further ahead if I buy a new machine made by a different company. I will not be buying a Whirlpool product again.

I purchased a new gas water heater and had it installed by a plumber. It worked for 3 weeks then we lost hot water. I called the 877 number and got shoveled around to 3 or 4 people. I got hung up on twice then spent 45 minutes repeating all the instructions that are on the tank to relight the pilot light. They agreed to send a new valve. The first time, I never received the valve (after 10 days) and had to call back. The second time I called in, I spent 20 minutes trying to get another valve sent. The valve I, finally, received had plumbers dope on the back and clearly was previously used. Had the original plumber replace the faulty valve? And lo and behold, the second valve didnt work either. I have no idea why a gas water heater would have any issues after 3 weeks. I bought it brand new from Lowe’s. It is obvious that Whirlpool makes shoddy products. They have very poor customer service and care little for the customers’ time either in correcting the problem or being without hot water. I have spent over 2 hours with Whirlpool. Only to 3 weeks after the initial call, I still do not have hot water from a heater that is less than 2 months old! I called them on the issue of the second valve not working and they put me on hold (after 10 minutes the line went dead and I was disconnected) despite the fact I asked them not to do that!

Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!

Update Review on 10/15/2020: New refrigerator 12/31/19. 4/27/20 Fridge terribly noisy, called Whirlpool directed to local provider. 5/5/20 Fan replaced, drawer clip broken. 5/11/20 Drawer repaired. 5/21/20 Fridge not keeping up, repair company said new compressor needed. 7/6/20 After numerous calls and literally hours on hold with Whirlpool compressor install but still seemed noisy. 9/30/20 Fridge partially cooling, no ice and water dispenser not working. Repair company ordered new evaporator cover and UI panel.10/15/20 Neither the repair company or Whirlpool know when the parts will be delivered. Whirlpool has no record of their being a service call or parts ordered. I talked to one rude, unhelpful and uninformed service rep. After following their instructions and using their recommended warranty provider, they claim not to have the issues in their system and cant be used to determine the repair/replacement of their unit. He indicated, You need 3 major repairs in 30 days to get a replacement fridge. It took them 6 1/2 weeks to repair the compressor. How can it break that many times in 30 days with that bad of service. Nothing is repaired in 30 days. The current rep seems to care and have a working knowledge. She is sending a request to determine when a part might be delivered. She couldnt give any indication of when the part might be delivered to complete the repair. Days? Weeks? Or again Months? An hour and a half on the phone with very little progress. New refrigerator with 3 major repairs and one small one in 9 months. Terrible refrigerator and extremely poor service! Go with another brand.Original Review: Refrigerator new in January 2020. The first issue was an extremely loud fan.It was replaced. While being repaired, service tech broke a tab on the door. (It happens) Another call to replace the tab. During May I notice its not making ice and freezer isnt keeping up. Lose all items in freezer. Now the 4th call on new refrigerator, tech says needs a compressor and orders while at my house. Soon the refrigerator isnt keeping cool. Now 34 days later, still not fixed. Whirlpool service provider blames Whirlpool. Whirlpool says they are shipping compressors but cant exactly say mine is delivered. Apparently, 4 service calls in 5 months and over a month with a totally broken refrigerator is their bar for a good product and service. Neither their approved service provider or Whirlpool care in the least. Awful service. Try another brand!

A Whirlpool hot water heater in an apartment I own would not stay lit. A plumber came to service and told me I needed a part from Whirlpool and that no one in town carried them. I called Whirlpool and after providing all information about the unit, she informed me that she would not send me the part because the serial number was not registered in my name. I explained to her that I purchased the building and did not install the water heater that a prior owner had installed it. All I wanted was a repair part. The Whirlpool rep refused to sell me a part unless I could provide a bill of sale where I purchased the tank. The part cost $41 which I was more than happy to pay for regardless of any warranty coverage. I have an obligation to provide services to my tenants. Being unable to repair the tank for a problem which appears to be commonplace for this brand, I had to replace with a new tank at a cost of $1380.00.

We purchased in July 2016 from Best Buy. Very nice product. Our former Whirlpool had lasted 20 years and was a work horse for our family. The new one began not freezing ice cream in November. Then, it would periodically freeze things very well and then not freeze items fully. We contacted Best Buy thinking we had a lemon. Worthless - no help. Told us to contact Whirlpool directly. The repair person came out today and told us that our refrigerator cannot be in our garage outdoors because the energy efficiency of the refrigerator causes it to shut off when the surrounding temp drops below 54F. Our former Whirlpool had been outdoors in our garage in that spot for 18 years, no problems. The new models now no longer operate if the air cools down around them. What!? There is no warning information, no sales information, no way to learn this until after you shell out 1000 dollars and lose your frozen food. It is in the manual in fine print, but we didnt read the manual cover to cover when we got the refrigerator, and we sure didnt read it BEFORE we bought it. And no one at the store, nor the installation people who represented Best Buy as paid installers told me I couldnt have this outside, even though I specifically told them I was buying it for our outside extra fridge and freezer to replace the old one, and the installers installed it outside. Technically our refrigerator is working as its supposed to apparently. However, I think it should prominently be noted on pre-sales materials that it must be operated indoors only (in climates always >54 degrees). Now I have a new refrigerator that I cant use as an extra in our garage. Apparently all the new fridges are energy efficient like this and shut off below 54. I cannot find any info on the internet about this, or any other complaints about a similar situation to mine. How does that make any sense? Freezing is 32 so any frozen goods will thaw, by default, always, if the machine is in cool environments. Phooey on this design spec. Dumb engineers.

My $700 Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine just broke after only 16 months of having it. The error code that comes up is f 51. With some research, I found that these machines are notorious for breaking down just after warranty with an f 1 code for older machines and an f 51 code for newer machines. Whirlpool is well aware of the breakdowns and the defect inherent in these machines and still sells them with no warning or no recall to fix the problem. I contacted the company and they refused to fix it for free and I understand the fix will now cost me another $300 to $400! What a scam! I bought the top-of-the-line Whirlpool top-loading washer and havent regretted it for a minute. This machine washes everything from the most delicate to the most bulky and heavy and does an excellent job of it. It saves about 1/3 of the water my rotary agitator washer used. What more could I ask from a washer. I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

On August 16, 2016 I received delivery of an Whirlpool under counter refrigerator that I ordered online from Home Depot. Model # WUR50X24EM. Five months later, on January 10, 2017, it stopped working, I called Whirlpool for repair. They referred me to their service company, I called the service company the same day. They had a repairman out on the following Tuesday, 1/17/17. The repairman said that he will need to contact Whirlpool to order a part. Whirlpool sent him the wrong part. After numerous phone calls no one from Whirlpool could figure out the correct part number. The repairman kept sending over pictures and information on the correct part, but this all went nowhere with Whirlpool. On 2/7/17, I called and started yelling. I had been very patient up to this point. I was finally offered by Whirlpool a parts research to determine exactly which part was needed. Plus a $50 Visa card to appease me. At this point, its been four weeks without a refrigerator and no one from Whirlpool has put any effort towards trying to figure out the correct part. On 2/16/17, I called Whirlpool again to find out if they had found the correct part. They told me that the new part had been sent to the service company and Whirlpool scheduled me an appointment right then for Monday, 2/20/17.So today is 2/20/17, the repairman came and went, Whirlpool once again failed, they lied because the repairman came out with the wrong part that was originally sent to him when he ordered the part back on 1/17/17. I called Whirlpool and asked for a manager. They connected me with the Resolution Specialist. I told her everything and pointed out that it has been six weeks without a refrigerator. She said she will take care of it and get the right part ordered. I asked her how long I should have to wait, cause at this point I have waited long enough. She said she will have an answer by the end of this week. I dont believe her, I feel as though Whirlpool is pacifying me. I dont understand why they cant order the correct part.I have no faith in Whirlpool that they will do the right thing or have any understanding on how inconvenienced they have made me. I have no faith to the point that I ordered another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. It will be here tomorrow between 8am-12pm. Oh, and Home Depot, they washed their hands of this a long time ago. And, I have yet to see the $50 Visa Card.

I have owned this Whirlpool Refrigerator French Door MODEL WRF990SLAM01 for less than 10 months. The ice machine broke down completely a few weeks ago. We called Whirlpool and they sent a repairman out the following week. He left saying he had to order parts. About 8 days later, they called to let me know they have the part in and scheduled a time to fix it. They put the new part on and said ice should be coming out in the next 72 hours. It never happened!! Not only did the ice maker stop working, the freezer stopped working which was about $300 worth of frozen meat/goods down the drain. I called the appliance repair guy. He said, I was worried about that, this product is known to have these issues. I asked, Does Whirlpool know? He replied, Absolutely, they have a kit to fix this but its not 100% guaranteed to fix this issue. REALLY?!!! I called Whirlpool and they could have cared less. There were no apologies, no type of compensation (exchange/replace). It is now going on day 22 and we still have no ice or freezer. This fridge cost me $2500 and four requested days off so I could wait for the repairman. Whirlpool, you as a company should be ashamed and outraged. You are more concerned about the bottom line of recalling these lemons and forgetting the impact you are having on us consumers. How many people are going through this issue that will not under any circumstance purchase a Whirlpool product again? I am so happy I am not investing in this company as this will impact this company in the future. They may be selling quite a few now to new homes/builders but when the word gets out what type of product they are selling and not repairing prior to the sale and knowingly letting people buy these, it leaves quite a bit of culpability on their hands. IF you are going to sell crap product, then stand behind it and repair/replace it prior to selling it to retailers!! You are a pathetic company!! STAY AWAY FROM WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!!

Whirlpool Gold Convection Oven - I bought this new oven, cleaned it once. The bottom cracked where the spills had been. Since Id had it only two months, repair tried to say it was only cosmetic but had to replace it. Next time I cleaned the oven for multiple spills, (a year later) it cracked again, giving the bottom a shattered look where the spills were. I only cleaned it once and the bottom is ruined. I dont expect Whirlpool to stand behind this, but I agree these Convection Ovens require a Class Action Suit because they are selling faulty merchandise. Period.
