I have had my washing Machines since 2011 and have had continuous problems
I have had my washing Machines since 2011 and have had continuous problems with the washing machine during spin cycle sounding like a freight train going through my house. Whirlpool has had people to my house 5 times to fix. When warranty was up in 2012, I was told they would continue to cover this particular issue. They came out again in April 2013 and now I am being told, Too bad; if you want fixed then you will need to pay for it.

After the pilot light on my water heater would no longer stay lit, I contacted the Whirlpool technical support number listed on the unit only to be told my unit was still under warranty, but I would be responsible to pay a $65 diagnostic fee and any labor associated with a repair. The technician came and said my ventilation system was the problem and didnt even touch the unit. He then sent a report to Whirlpool that the unit was flooded which voided my warranty. He did not submit photos to substantiate his water damage claim and now Im being told the unit is unsafe and must be replaced at my expense. This all sounds like collusion to not honor the warranty! I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

I purchased my Whirlpool refrigerator about 4 years ago and havent had any problems with it. One of the things I like about it is it has adjustable shelves not only in refrigerator part but also in the door part so that you can put bigger items like milk, etc. in door. It also has crisp bin for things like lettuce that works very well.

We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. I wont be buying anything Whirlpool EVER again.

This dishwasher, compared to my old one, is very quiet but does a very poor job of cleaning. I now have to prerinse most all items. The silverware rack leaves many dirty items such as peanut butter off a knife. I probably waste more water on prerinse than what is saved by the washer.

I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder
I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder in 2007 very much. First of all, I did not like the way the covered jets hid the lighted jets when they were turned on low. Then about 8 months ago, I smelled gas and no one had used the range. I checked the knobs and one was turned slightly without any gas lit. I know that for years the companies were required to have push-in knob before you could turn them for safety reasons (especially children). These knobs barely push in before turning so that they can easily be accidentally brushed against and leak gas, which is exactly what happened to me again today. My daughter was visiting. Neither of us had used the range and when she left, I sat in my living room and smelled gas. I immediately checked the range and the small front jet was turned slightly on. The odor was so strong that I know it had to have been on for some time. Its been an hour and Im still airing out the house. I have used gas ranges for over fifty years and never had a problem such as this. Im thankful that I do not have issues with my sense of smell. Otherwise, I would not be sitting here writing this.

Purchased on 9/12 at Home Depot. Ice maker paid for as stated in ad for home depot, did not come with fridge. Tech needed for warm food, had to repair gasket. Tech needed for cracked handle. 6 calls for freezing food in fridge compartment. No resolve. Whirlpool wanted a 2nd opinion and another tech came deeming the fridge unrepairable. Not good enough for Whirlpool. After speaking to several customer service agents, they said they do not refund or replace, only repair. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food from freezing. My fridge is reading at 31 deg. This is way below what it is supposed to read at. No call from Whirlpool since last tech came. Their customer service is terrible and cold. Whirlpool Corp. was not any help either. You can see the problem with this model if you look up Whirlpool fridge freezing food in Florida, as a woman there called ABC news and they reported it. I will also do the same.

The Cabrio is the absolute worst washer that Ive ever owned! No matter what combination of setting I use, my clothes come out dingy, all twisted and wrinkled, and full of lint and detergent residue (I use liquid detergent made specifically for HE washers). Every setting runs for over an hour. So much for high efficiency! What it saves on water it more than wastes on electricity!! More often than not, the entire load becomes enveloped in one of the items to create one huge ball. A t-shirt stretched to encompass the remaining clothes into a perfect sphere! When that happens, some of the laundry in the middle of the big ball is barely damp. The dryer is just as bad, even the towels come out wrinkled. How is that possible? And again, it takes over an hour to dry a load.Whirlpool customer service is awful. When I called to complain, the agent began schooling me on how to wash clothes. Im 66 years old, Ive washed a few clothes in my lifetime and have always prided myself in my white whites and bright colors. I have a new house and the builder provided all the appliances. Based on my past negative experience with Whirlpool products and their customer service, I would not have purchased Whirlpool.

They sold me a washer that did not work. First load failed and the machine locked closed. Error E1 F9. Took 7 days for technicians to open the machine. The laundry was rancid by then. Needed a new drain pump motor, which was installed 37 days later. Whirlpool offered $150 for my loss of clothing. Ridiculous. Value $900, I asked for $500. Awful.

I have always purchased Whirlpool products and when we were hit with a flood I had to purchase a new washer & dryer. Naturally I bought Whirlpool. I have regretted this purchase ever since. I wish I had known about this website before my purchase & been able to read the reviews. This washing machine is the worst appliance I have ever purchased. The clothes get clean SOMETIMES. It takes FOREVER to do a normal size load of wash. I will have to think long and hard before ever buying a Whirlpool appliance again. I cant believe you ever made such an inferior product. You should be ashamed of yourselves for duping the public.

Do yourself a favor and do not purchase any Whirlpool gas heater product. T
Do yourself a favor and do not purchase any Whirlpool gas heater product. There are numerous poor reviews on Whirlpool water heaters. The one I purchased, 50 gallon Whirlpool water heater; I had to replace the control valve three times. After the third time, (the water heater was less than 18 months old) I gave up and purchased another product. Whirlpool would not replace their poor product, but did replace the control valve, each time, which cost $100,00 labor each time. After the water heater was taken out, there were visible leaks on all connections. (A licensed plumber installed it.) Over a period of time, I lost a total of three days work, was w/o hot water three times for two days each issue. I hope I can save the next consumer similar difficulties with this product. Check consumer reports before purchase of this product. There are numerous complaints. Also, local plumbers can advise on how many issues they encounter with this product.

We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher from Lowes approximately 2 years ago. Serial P32105232. We noticed a dark stain coming up in the hardwood floor. It was a water leak from the dishwasher appears to be from seal when water cycle leaves unit. This has caused over 70k damage to our home. Ruined entire hardwood floor kitchen cabinets warped so all need replaced. Our insurance company has made a disaster after owning home 10 years. Custom cabinets that match the laundry room as well. No to mention. The jackhammer used to bust up 800 sq foot of flooring and the concrete dust in our entire home. Please advise recourse.

Does not get clothes clean. Period!! Takes just over 1hr. Noisy, lasted 3 1/2 years, transmission broke, take the warranty with a washer/dryer. Whirlpool was the top of the line, front loaders give less trouble, agitators clean better, go for the cheaper versions, our loaner Whirlpool, WTW4850H or WTW4950H washes quicker and cleaner than the Cabrio Energy Star.

Hi team, I have to lodge this complaint after because of getting continuous
Hi team, I have to lodge this complaint after because of getting continuous problems I have suffered with my Whirlpool fully automatic washing machine top load 11 kg bloom wash 360 degree. I purchased the abovesaid brand new washing machine on 1st Jan 2017. Since the purchase I am struggling with this machine. I raised the fault in the beginning itself and the service was done on 5th of Feb. Jobs sheets enclosed here with.Similar issues kept on arising and whenever I raised those issues with the whirlpool team, they mentioned that company policy is to repair the faulty part if it’s in warranty and they will not replace. They suggested me to go for the AMC and to be on the safer side, I also took AMC under warranty period only. (AMC card - My cheque dates and service details all are mentioned onto it.) Recently I faced another issue on 26th Feb for which ticket was raised. Engineer visited on 27th Feb and advised us to replace the motor part. On 3rd March they replaced motor mechanism and ball-bearings. Then engineer advised us to check the working by giving a trial wash.I started the machine to wash clothes and after 20 mins machine started making abnormal noise. (I have made video of it, audio of the video captured the noise). I again called up the service engineer immediately and informed him about the voice coming out of machine and he gave a lame answer by saying “It is normal sound”. Then I again called Whirlpool and requested senior engineer visit to resolve the issue. Senior engineer visited and told us that one of motor screw wasn’t tighten properly. It opened while running the machine which completely damaged the motor. After that I am continuously calling to service centre to get the updates on my machine motor replacement. Finally they mentioned that they dont have motor part available with them due to company ceased this model productivity. When I raised this issue with the Whirlpool team they mentioned that they can only pay 40% of the machine value, because I had AMC. However, I did mention that this damage is caused by the negligence of their service engineer, but they didn’t discuss anything about it.When I continuously chased them they dropped me an email to refund only the 40% of the machine value. I feel cheated and harassed!! When I bought the machine they gave us 10 years warranty now they mention that motor is not available as it’s a 5 years old model. My grievance is that since I had already taken the AMC and the damage was also caused by their engineer, why I have to bear the loss. I have already struggled a lot with this machine since last 5 years from the day I bought this machine and now I am losing my hard earned money. Kindly do the needful. Documents attached as follows: 1. Serial number of this machine 2. Bill/ Invoice copy from dealer 3. Job sheets4. AMC card (with 3 years extended warranty) Thanks,Pratibha

Ice machine went out right after the year warranty was up. Convenient right? We called a hometown tech to come out and look at the water valve. He was unable to locate it, so we called Whirlpool service. After waiting 30 mins, they told us they cant tell us where to locate it for safety reasons, and if we wanted anything done to the refrigerator, we needed to pay a tech to come see it. EXTREMELY RUDE!!! I would NOT recommend whirlpool ANYTHING.

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side from Lowes and an extended warranty. Immediately maybe a month the ice maker froze. Ice container in the door. Repairman said design is notorious for this problem. This was an ongoing problem. They replaced icemaker and it continued. Finally the warranty people told me it could be deemed a lemon if repaired for the same issue 4 times in a year. They deemed it a LEMON and I received a store credit for the purchase price less the warranty amount. I purchased a new LG French door. No issues and its been 5 years. If you have an extended warranty do some checking on the lemon.

I purchased a very expensive Cabrio top-loading washer thinking I would never have to worry because supposedly it’s the top of the line, right? Well, I have it a few years; the first week they replaced the basket because it was ruining my clothes. And then I had to replace the pump because of a coin getting caught and putting a hole in the pump. Really? What the heck? Now the basket is all shredded at the top. Obviously that isn’t right, so what do I do now? Replace the basket again? Who gives them the right to charge so much for a piece of junk? Plus, it’s supposed to save on water, but I feel that the clothes don’t really clean well. They hardly feel wet coming out of the machine.

My 3 year old Whirlpool dishwasher (model GU3200XTXY3), broke down for the third time. Under extended warranty with my insurance company, a repair tech was sent out to diagnose the problem. He quickly found that the heater had been continuously running (not just during drying), which caused the machine to quit working. He also found that all the wiring inside the dishwasher was spliced together, those two things=fire hazard! Because the heater was always running, it was super heating all the water used to clean the dishes. The vent to release the steam is located on the top of the door (right under counter edge). The dishwasher was producing hotter and more steam which slowly ate away at the particle board under the cabinets. No, we dont have the most expensive countertops, but Whirlpool should be held responsible for producing a faulty product with a faulty design. I have contacted Whirlpool and they claim to have mailed a claim form 3 weeks ago. I have not received it. Posted on social media about it, and was told I must only speak with the person who sent me the form. I would love to, but since I havent actually received any contact from anyone (other than a fb post) I dont know who to contact, at what number, or email!

Moved to new house with new Whirlpool appliances, including oven, in August
Moved to new house with new Whirlpool appliances, including oven, in August, 2015. I did not cook in oven at all until Thanksgiving meal. Had something spill over in oven. Spillover caught fire. Oven at 350 degrees. Complained to Whirlpool. A supervisor told me that it is normal for spillover to catch fire. They sent out a tech to check oven, and said I would be responsible for paying tech. The tech explained that unlike conventional ovens, this oven has heating elements outside of oven, so to get to the temperature of 350 degrees, the heat at the bottom of oven can get to over 550 degrees. He could not get Whirlpool to replace oven. I didnt have to pay, but now I am afraid to use it. Some of the finish on the inside of the oven was burned away, so it is not like I can trade it in. I feel the oven has a defective design if spillovers are supposed to catch fire while you are cooking, and the finish gets damaged. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again, if I can help it.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for about 3 1/2 to 4 years. At first, it left our clothes wrinkled, so I purchased a steamer to help remove the wrinkles. After a few months, it started making a terrible clanging noise. My husband was able to repair and it ran okay for a while. Over a few months, it got louder and louder. It does not get our clothes completely clean. Some even come out dry on one side. Now, we are getting an F50 code and it shuts down after 1 minute. After reading the reviews, I agree Cabrio is a bad product. What happened to the trustworthy, best value Whirlpool name?

I purchased a new Whirlpool (2015) Model: WRF736SDAM13 French Door Refrigerator. Two days later, water was dripping from the light in the top of the refrigerator. I was removing about a cup of water twice a day, which dripped from the light. The company was friendly when I called, and offered a replacement or repair. I elected the repair as I felt that would be acceptable. The repair man inspected the refrigerator and determined the problem to be condensation from the water holding tank, located in the top of the refrigerator. He stated that because the incoming water has the opportunity to reach room temperature prior to entering the fridge, and because of the high temperatures (80’s & 90’s) the water holding tank has condensation that collects in the top of the refrigerator, which drips onto the top of inter refrigerator liner, and eventually drips through the light. He stated there is no fix, as it is not broken. While it is not broken, this is a bad design error, which would affect anyone who lives in an area where the temperatures exceed 80 degrees outside, which could only be fixed with a collection tray that would allow the water not to drip into the refrigerator. Currently there is none available. Because I only had the refrigerator for two days before the problem was reported, Lowes allowed me to make an immediate exchange. However, had this been purchased during cooler temperatures, the issue would not have been noticed until after the 30-day time frame and the exchange would not have been an option. When I made the exchange, I noticed that all the 3 & 4 door refrigerators are made the same and will have the same problem. I ended up exchanging it for a Samsung model. Kudos to Lowes. Whirlpool, you need to find a fix for this problem if you want to sell me another one.

Our Whirlpool dryer broke less than 3 months after we bought it. We called Whirlpool and spent more than 2 hours on the phone. They sent someone out and that person told us he couldnt fix the part that was broken. He gave us a phone number to call and we called and spent another hour on the phone after which we were told to call Whirlpool back. We called them on 3 separate days and spent hours on the phone trying to contact real people. After another week (during which time the dryer went out of warranty) we had to call someone to fix it. After that we spend a month calling and emailing Whirlpool to get reimbursed for the almost $400 we spent fixing it. No luck. We were told that it was out of warranty and we didnt use a Whirlpool technician. I was hung up on, given the runaround through phone menus, continually told it wasnt the correct department, and finally that Whirlpool doesnt cover it. Bottom line is...never buy Whirlpool.

I paid about $3500 for this, alleged, top of the line fridge a little over 2 years ago. The freezer, bottom type, doesnt get cold enough to thoroughly freeze food. Called Sears, they said out of warranty, the same with whirlpool. But they can have a tech run a diagnostic check for $85. Here we go. They suck more money out of the consumer game, and try to baffle them with **, legal jargon. FYI for all. Dont buy Whirlpool from any store selling Whirlpool products, any Whirlpool products. Once the middle men get the picture, they will stop ordering or buying from Whirlpool.Whirlpool are a bunch of con artists selling crappy products with false integrity. They are the typical old school door to door salesman that sells a crappy product then is on the run to the next state. No receipt or order number. I bought the product two years ago but here is the Serial number K30416919 and the Model number WRF989SDAM00. What happened to fridges that lasted at least 10 years? An outdated computer costs more and lasts longer than their products.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - I have had all of the problems that all
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer - I have had all of the problems that all of the other 900 people have complained about! The washer does not wash anything properly. I have even experienced having something such as a bit of cereal stuck to a dishcloth and it was still on there after a full wash cycle. All of my whites are now grey and stained. All of the sheets end up with a huge dirty ring the size of the tub in the middle of them. Everything comes out in a tangled mess of knots! Very frustrating! Everything comes out smelly as if its been sitting in the washer for days. Nothing smells fresh and clean like it should. Energy wise, we are using two and three times the amount of energy as I am washing and drying things for two or three times over, which brings me to the dryer. I put one single load in and it takes two or three cycles to dry it properly. This is unacceptable and I cannot believe that we cannot get some satisfaction from someone in this regard! We bought our set from Sears and I feel that they obviously know of this problem and still continue to sell Whirlpool products! Weve all been taken for a ride and Whirlpool should be held accountable for ripping people off this way. Someone please help!

Frontload Sport Duet ht: After just 8 years, bearing out on washing machine. Just had repairman out. Cost more to fix than what I purchased it for. I bought both the washer and dryer, thus the reason for the duet. So now I have a good dryer and lost its mate. I am not going to purchase another one. Very disappointed. I will not be purchasing any more Whirlpool products in the future. Off to the laundromat.

I purchased my Whirlpool French Door Gold Series fridge for $2179.00 in November of 2013. We just had moved into a new house and wanted a fridge that would last a long time. In the past couple weeks the freezer has stopped freezing and after calling Whirlpool I was told I was out of luck and would have to pay full retail price to get the problem fixed. This will be the last Whirlpool product I ever buy.

Its a free standing unit on wheels with a butcher block top as we dont have room in the cabinets for a built in. All you have to do is roll it over to the sink and plug it in and hook up the water line which has a quick disconnect. The male half always stays on the faucet.

We bought a Whirlpool washer (Model # WTW4900BWO) and dryer (#WED4850BW) and within 2 months I was having problems with the washer AND dryer. Every time I washed a load of clothes, the clothes would have some yucky stuff hanging all over it. I called Whirlpool and was told to try setting the washer on 1 Rinse with Softener even though I never use a liquid softener. Their suggestion did solve the problem, but why doesnt a brand-new washer work the way its supposed to? A short time later, my dryer buzzer stopped working and the knob would not advance when set on the Energy Preferred setting. I called Whirlpool again and was told they did not have a service technician in the area where I lived and that it was not likely that one technician would come on the same day to service both machines. I asked why they would sell their products in an area where they were not willing to service them and they said that is the choice of the store that sold it to me. Then they told me there was a service technician available about 40 miles away and they would fax the order to them so they could contact me. The technician who came did look at both machines and was able to determine that the control panel needed replacing on the dryer, but was not able to do anything about the Rinse Option problem on the washer. He suggested that I continue to follow the recommendation of Whirlpool as long as it works. I can do that, but Im not happy that a new machine does not work the way its supposed to. He also recommended NOT using liquid laundry detergent or fabric softener in my washer because it contains animal fat and can build up and cause problems. Nowhere in the manual did it say that. He took the washer apart and showed me how it was already building up under the washer basket. I told the technician that my laundry has had an unpleasant odor to it when it comes out of the washer and even after it is dry. He said that might be because of the small amount of water that is used in the energy saving washer. If these problems cannot be resolved, I consider this washer to be a lemon and hope it will be replaced with a new one. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a traditional washer. I liked the idea of conserving water, but not if my familys clothes stinks.

Within 10 days of installing our new Electric range the cooktop does not look new and although we have used the prescribed cleaning methods, will not remove some cooked on spills over one burner and another burner has white rings around the glass above the dual zone cooking element. While we did not choose the top-of-line model; had expected much greater durability and appearance for our new range. My call into Whirlpool service made me feel like mine was an extremely isolated case and yet nothing would be covered as would be classified as customer fault. Highly disappointing as the cooktop on the range that we replaced seemed so much more durable.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, Ill get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

The freezer is not freezing food properly the last couple of days, all food is unfrozen in the freezer. Have lowered the temp settings has not helped, the fridge section is temperately fine. There is a noise coming from the fridge that sounds like a noisy fan or motor. Phoned Whirlpool Canada, they said they could send someone out. They will charge $100 for call out and over $20/15 min after. I asked whod theyd be calling to service. Said that Id try unplugging the fridge for a couple of days and seeing if that helps, and that Ill call the refrigeration company myself if I need them. Not satisfied with their short term warranties. Especially on such expensive products.

As with other posts here, the rear bearing is going out of Whirlpool Duet front loading washer. I purchased mine in late 2008. Moderate use always according to recommendations. I called Whirlpool and same story--no recall and it would be expensive to have it repaired. I cant see putting $400 to $500 in parts even if I repair it myself. I cant believe that with such a common problem, Whirlpool wouldnt either honor a repair or offer a reasonable bearing package to fix. It requires the entire back, half of a new drum. Poor design, but whats worse is no effort by Whirlpool to rectify the situation.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago and they are an absolute piece of junk!!! There is only 2 people in our family so its not like we are washing big loads. It doesnt get my clothes clean and the clothes stink. I have followed the directions on cleaning the washer and it does not good. Now my clothes are soaking wet at the end of the cycle so I have to put it on drain and spin just to get most (not all) the water out of them. And when I take my clothes out, they are just as dirty as when I put them in. Called a technician and its going to cost over $400.00 to fix. This is nothing short of robbery!!!! This machine is a piece of junk. I read over 500 reviews on this washer and they all had problems that cost as almost as much as the washer cost to repair. There really needs to be a recall or a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool.

This is a good customer service (CS) review. Whirlpool knows about the defect and continues to distribute the fridge this way. We have a Whirlpool model #WRF757SDEM01 we purchased this year (2017). We love the size and the fact that the ice bin is in the door and takes up very little room. Our only complaint prior to this issue was the ice and water do not always come out gracefully. So we were happy overall till a large block of ice formed in the back of the fridge. My original call to CS was great. They did not ask me a bunch of stupid questions, just said that should not be happening and scheduled a service call.Service guy knew exactly what it was because he had repaired the same model with the same issue several times. It is a defect in the dual cooling/defrost system that Whirlpool knows about, but continues to produce. Two parts need to be replaced and one part had to be ordered. Which was not a big deal since two days were needed to thaw out the mini glacier. We lost food so I made a second call to CS and again there were no stupid questions or arguments. They got a $75 debit card in the mail to us. So I thank Whirlpools CS reps, but sure wish the manufacturing side of things were a little more diligent in production. Certainly this cost them money on all accounts.

Four years ago, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator - French doors (ice and water in the door) and freezer bottom drawer. Against everyone but the HH Greggs salesmans advice, I purchased the extended warranty as I had paid a large sum of money for the refrigerator. Within a year, I began experiencing problems with the ice maker. Over the next few years, I had to have it repaired/replaced an additional three times. Add to the whole mess the incompetency of the A & E Repairmen that required at least two visits each time to complete a repair and their inability to arrive during a 9 hour window, I stayed livid about my refrigerator for three long years. Finally, I demanded a replacement refrigerator under the lemon portion of my warranty. After numerous arguments, the warranty company offered me several different makes and models to pick to replace my hunk of junk. Stupidly thinking that my problems were related to one bad unit, I selected another Whirlpool only to have it completely crash a little over one year after acquiring it. I lost the food in it and am having to wait almost a month for the parts to arrive and the repairman to return. According to him, it will have to be completely rebuilt. I will never, never buy another Whirlpool!

The “stainless” trim around the knob area is peeling and the AquaLift self-clean DOES NOT WORK! After the AquaLift cycle, there was a watery mess in the bottom of the oven which was difficult to clean up. It would have been better if I had cleaned it the conventional way. We purchased both the Cabrio Whirlpool washer and dryer approx. 3 years ago, while still under the manufacturers warranty the lid cracked upper right corner. It was replaced and we were told by the repairman at that time this is becoming a common problem that he himself has seen this exact failure to several of these washers. Whirlpool needs to fix the problem. Shortly after this happened we receive in the mail the information for the extended warranty. Due to having this already happen, I phoned the extended warranty department for Whirlpool and specifically asked if this same thing happens again will it be covered under the extended warranty. My answer Yes.Well it happened again, called extended warranty provided them with a detailed description of what happened, they would send someone to replace, the service gentleman arrived today, called Whirlpool and they denied the claim. So they LIED. I instill honesty in my children and am proud to say I hold honesty as a high value. We were told it was cosmetic, the glass is buckled and the lid has to be held down to engage the lock mechanism of the lid. COSMETIC, this is a SAFETY concern. Where have our American values gone... Whirlpool WRF989SDAM00. We bought this junk April 22, 2013. 7 visits from service guy throughout the entire year we have had this, problems began almost immediately. Whirlpool gave us a 3 month complimentary warranty (which is up at the end of June). Same problem is back (back left corner freezing up and I think it has also made our ice maker not work nearly as good as it should). We called a few weeks back to report problem yet again, the rep on the phone treated us very poorly. They said they have a new part that is currently on back order that is going to fix the problem once and for all to which my husband replied: I do not have much confidence this will fix the problem as you have sent 5 or 6 new and improved parts over the year and all has failed. He then asked, will you extend the warranty once more, and they said NO. We are stuck with a ($2,700) piece of crap that they just keep trying to find new parts to fix it! On a separate call we asked for a refrigerator replacement to which the rep basically laughed and said that will never happen!! What course of action can we take here?? This company is dead to me!

We have had a GX5fhdxvy 07 Whirlpool Gold French door fridge with bottom freezer that is approximately 4 years old. Since the first 6 months of use, so 3.5 years now, we have had continual problems with a flat sheet of ice on the bottom of the freezer which then builds up and leaks all over our floor. Twice I have slipped, once banged my big toe to the point of cracking my big toenail and bleeding profusely, and the second time I slipped on my butt and really hurt my back. This is of real concern as one of my children has Cerebral Palsy and autism and could really hurt himself in our kitchen. We originally called while it was still under warranty and the technician said that we will need to learn how to defrost the tube that seems to be getting built up with ice. Thats the only way to fix it. We thought it meant fix it for a long period of time. After several months of this re-occurring problem, we realized that this is something you need to do very frequently, meaning several times a week. We have had no help from Whirlpool, they tell us that essentially it is our problem. They didnt even offer to provide parts. They were not interested in our problems and just asked us if we wanted to pay for a service call, and that was it. Now but what kind of service is this?? Clearly, after researching these products, this is a design flaw and a lot of consumers have complained about the the same issues. You would think that Whirlpool would have the decency and the business smarts to create a recall to solve consumers issues.Unfortunately, I am not able to purchase a new unit. This was an expensive purchase as it was… and we have absolutely no resolution to the problem. I have to say that after our injuries in our household, eventually someone will slip and do some serious permanent damage to their body or even worse, fall and sustain a head injury and perhaps even die. And although this may seem like a far fetched comment, it really isnt out of the realm of possibility at all! How long does it take for a manufacturer to respond to a flaw in their design??

This is the second time since I have bought my Whirlpool top loading washing machine, which was January 1, 2011. During a power outage, I was washing clothes and my machine lid would not unlock after our power came back on. I called the warranty service and they made arrangement for a repair man to come out to repair it, but the appointment was in two days. Meanwhile, I had clothes in the machine I needed and was afraid they would become molded and no good. So my husband opened the lid and I removed the clothes. When the repair man came, he was not going to repair the machine because we opened the lid. He was very rude, but after doing some talking he repaired the lid. Now, once again we had a power outage while I was washing clothes and the lid is locked on the washing machine and will not open. This happened Friday, March 16, 2012; my appointment for the repairman to come is Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Meanwhile, my clothes are sitting in the machine wet because we were told not to try to open the lid and wait for the repair service to come. I am very concerned my clothes will be molded and I will be unable to use them. I would never buy another washing machine like this one. Model number is WTW4800X, Standard/Ordinaire VOXr8ENA(3B). I have a 3 1/2 year old 9400WFW WP washer with a 70 error code. After viewing complaints on various websites, it appears this is a large scale problem with Whirlpool Duet owners. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part! How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years. My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. The charge was $98 plus labor $90 to tell us that even though the surfaces were way too hot to touch and dangerous to touch they were still within the factory specs of 167 degrees for the knobs, 152 degrees for the drawer, and 172 degrees for the front glass. He found the front of the unit reached 152 degrees which was hot enough to cause a serious burn when the stove was only set to 400 degrees. Why would a company set specs that will cause serious injuries? If my wife or grandchildren get burned by this crappy stove Whirlpool will be hearing from my lawyer. Stay away from any Aquaclean Whirlpool stove.

We bought a brand new basic refrigerator, freezer on top, no frills, no ice maker, no water dispenser (model #WRT359SFYB) in Dec. 2011. For months, things on the bottom shelf of the fridge would freeze. The more we turn the control dial down, the more things would freeze. Finally, everything stopped freezing, including everything in the freezer. After having to throw everything out, we called for service. One year and 4 months out from our purchase date and without an extended warranty, we were offered no help. The repairman said that we had a leak as a result of poor manufacturing and there was no refrigerant left. He filled it but said he needed to check with Whirlpool to see if they would cover the repairs. It turns out they wont. I called them myself and spoke with a manager who offered no options at all, other than paying more than the price of the fridge to have it repaired. I asked if they were okay with their product having such a short life, filling landfills and causing such problems for their customers to which she replied that they are man-made and have no life expectancy. Crazy! For a manufacturer of large, costly appliances, one would think they would stand behind their product more. She also said that she would file my complaint and would have let me know if there was a recall on the fridge or any of its parts. It appears to me that others have had similar complaints. I wonder what warrants a recall. I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I bought a commercial coin operator washer (Whirlpool washer model CAE2743BQ) for $800 and after using it for 4 months the washer stop working. The main board panel lights turned all and the washer did not start. Called Whirlpool several times and nobody could help me and told me to look online for a distribution center to get parts. The customer service only knew about regular washers not coin operator. The washer had only 3 months warranty from Home Depot and I was supposed to pay for all the repairs and Whirlpool would pay for parts. So far I spend $400 in repairs and the certified technicians could not repair the washer. They replaced the actuator shift, the main board etc, etc and nothing. The technicians reset the washer at least 10 times, calling Whirlpool tech support and the washer worked for one load and the main board lights stayed on all over again, the start button did not work. I sent a letter to the warranty department that I got online and they told me to call the same 1800 that I had called at least 50 times in the past year. Now it has been more than one year and the machine is defective. Technician said could be the soap that my tenants are using, or overloading the washer or an electric problem that they cannot identify. I gave up... I will not buy a coin operator heavy duty washer from them again. I requested a return authorization for a defective product and I did not get anywhere. Thanks.

I have had our new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer for about a year. I absolutely hate it. I along with all the other people that is complaining about their Cabrio. I have found it to stain my clothes, not get them clean... Sometimes not even get part of them wet. I wash every load now no matter how small on the deep water option. I still have to add about 3 to 6 gals of water after it fills to try to help them get as clean as I possible can. I have stopped using fabric softener because I believe that is what may be leaving the stains on the clothes because it doesnt dilute it. Also you cant soak clothes in the washer long enough. I know it offers a presoak but when the clothes are not getting wet... That is not soaking. I tried to fill it up and raise the lid so it wouldnt wash until I was ready for it to wash but it automatically emptied the tub after a short time.It is funny watching the clothes when washing... Even I could tell they were not going to be washed well. I thought who in the world developed this washer. Certainly no one that had ever really considered what women need to wash clothes on a daily basis. I would sell it but I dont think anyone would buy it. If there is a class action suit I would consider joining in. Whirlpool could not have spent much effort in checking this washer out. A lot of money down the drain. I did not buy the dryer because of the lint vent being on top of it. What a mess those make when you have to empty it. So I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL. Now that is a wonderful dryer! As one homemaker to another I suggest you check it out. Never had one I liked more.

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

I would never recommend Whirlpool again. I have used Whirlpool products since 1970 and always had good appliances. Your new products are worthless and you are spending more money on legal protection and lobbying than making a worthy product that actually cleans clothes and cools food. At some point, Whirlpool should accept the fact that they should not sell this machine. Word of mouth spreads fast! Im hoping it will make a big dent in sales because I know then they will listen and act! I purchased it in 2006 for $800, thinking this Cabrio 6400SW is a dream, I can get more done in less time (at that time, there were seven in our family). However, problems within the first year, F1, but I was happy and still under warranty! It was fixed, only to start the problem again. This time, not under warranty! I really wish I had said yes to the extended warranty! Even the repair guy Whirlpool sent suggested it may be a good thing to get the extended warranty if I were you! I think he was trying to tell me something! My naive thought was, why spend more money we did not have? After all, it is a new machine! I did not comprehend that any company could sell and continue to sell something that was clearly a defective machine! Nor did I entertain the thought that a company would not stand behind their product! It is now 2012, I still have the machine because we have dealt with it and have/had no extra money to throw out at it. I have dealt with F1 for several years and did not contact Whirlpool, mostly out of lack of time to research what the deal was and if others were experiencing the same. In November 2011, after reading many complaints and frustrations on the internet and what results they got, I called Whirlpool. Using a level head, sugar sweet persona and a mindset of disbelief that Whirlpool would allow such problems, the customer service girl did her best with what she was told to reply with (meaning, there is nothing she can do). It is then that you ask to speak with a manager or director. I won in getting a repair guy out to fix the F1. They made it sound like they were doing me a onetime favor. The machine board was replaced, the repair person also thought there was an obstruction in the hose and he could fix it, but it would cost us money and suggested we try our hand at it first. We did find an obstruction and for one week, the machine was quietly working beautifully! Whirlpool even called to see about how it was working and my husband had answered that everything works well, not knowing that Ld is our new problem. Ld had started to pop up at the end of that week.So here it is July and Im so frustrated trying to get wash done. Im thinking of all the wasted time, all the wasted electricity and energy Ive spent trying to get this machine to work! My kids are trained to hit stop/pause if they hear it beeping. Some days we cant even get the clothes to spin dry. I try different cycles to get the machine to start and often have to cancel the cycle and change it to another cycle to get the machine to continue. Is there a smell? Yes, and I run the clean washer cycle twice in a row just about every other week now. That doesnt even seem to clean the washer anymore! Tangled clothes sometimes. Ld always, uL sometimes and a sound like it is trying to do something but is stuck. Lots of laundry to do! No money to fix it! Whirlpool needs to stop selling an inferior machine! I know one thing. Never Whirlpool again and I tell everyone not to go with Whirlpool Cabrio. Even one of my co-workers had one and bought a new washer (not Whirlpool) because of problems with her Cabrio only after three years! Do not purchase a Cabrio!

I own a Whirlpool Cabrio washer, model #WTW7800XWO. The lid to the washer has completely detached for lack of a better word. It literally blew-off during the spin cycle and is hanging on by one hinge. My husband is disabled and I have had to go without using the washer for several days, waiting on a repair person not to mention the expense that will be incurred. This was a very potentially dangerous situation. My washer is barely older than one year. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the customer service department, I was told I would have to purchase and replace the lid or pay $299.00 for warranty insurance to have it covered because this is not considered a Quality Control issue. The service person has told me that both hinges and the lid will have to be ordered and replaced, leaving me without a washer for several more days. No one has been able to tell me why this happened. I fear this happening again after repair and do not feel safe with this washer. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Three years ago I bought a bottom freezer Whirlpool Gold refrigerator from Lowes. Two days after it was installed, I noticed a pool of water on the kitchen floor. This happened again. I called Lowes and they brought out another refrigerator, same make and model, and took the first one away. A year later the same thing happened. I had it repaired - quite an ordeal for the technician. He had to order a part and found it difficult to actually get into the freezer. Now after a year and a half approximately the same thing is happening. I cant afford to continue the repair bills and dont like the inconvenience (what if this happens when Im away from home?). The pool of water is substantial - its as though the defrost is simply emptying through the front of the freezer onto my floor.

Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.
