I bought a Duet front load washer and dryer set in January 2009 from our local Lowes. Spin cycle noise progressively got louder over time to the point we contacted our locally owned service company to check it out in June 2011. Cause is defective shell and spin tub, total repair cost $750. This was about the original cost of the washer! I contacted Whirlpool via e-mail (wait time via their phone is outrageous), they wont do anything. Out of warranty. Up until now, Whirlpool has had a good name with me. Not anymore. I will never buy anything Whirlpool manufactured ever again. (Maytag, Kenmore, maybe more brands.)American companys insensitivity such as this is what gives some of American industry a bad name and drives consumers away to quality foreign brands made in Europe: German, Swiss, Italian, Swedish, etc.Im going to take a hard look at Bosch washers to replace this Whirlpool piece of junk.

This will be the last Whirlpool appliance I will buy. We purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator Model # ED5GVEXVD literally a few days over 2 years ago. It is a side-by-side refrigerator with shelves that are supposed to slide out, however, we have never used it in that capacity. The problem is that the plastic frames on every shelf, even the ones that do not slide out over the bins, have cracked in no less than 2 places on each shelf. We contacted Whirlpool over a month ago. The good news is that they responded quickly. The bad news is that they stated, It is unfortunate that you had problems with the shelves, but we are unable to do anything for you because it is out of warranty. If you would like to purchase replacement shelves, we could order them through their consumer parts department. This is such a crock. If it was one shelf, I could justify the possibility of it getting smacked or something overweight was placed on it, but every shelf? As I said, not a single shelf is crack free, including the ones that sit directly over the bins, which should have additional support from the bin construction.By the time I replace every shelf that is cracked, it will be equal to what I paid for this refrigerator 2 years ago, and it will net me maybe 2 more years of service. If I have to invest that kind of expense into it, the refrigerator will go to the recyclers and I will buy from another manufacturer, which will definitely not be a Whirlpool or Whirlpool subsidiary. The cracks were noticed early last month. The cracks are already getting larger. I will no longer allow my children to get anything out of the refrigerator since Im afraid that the shelf will crack, the glass in the shelf frame will break and we will have an injured child, which instead of reaching this website, I will be contacting a lawyer. I need to do something with this refrigerator, but with the economy, I cant afford to just keep replacing a $1,000 refrigerator every 2 years. This refrigerator does not get extreme use since it is the 2nd refrigerator in the house. The primary fridge has been in our house since 2005 and I wouldnt trade it for anything. This Whirlpool refrigerator, however, is poorly made. The materials that the refrigerator shelves are made from were just a poor engineering decision because it is not holding up to mild to moderate use without cracking. We purchased this Whirlpool appliance thinking we were getting a quality product from previous reviews we had read, however, this is obviously no longer the case with this company and seeing the complaints that I now see online. Someone would have to give me really compelling evidence to make me decide to ever purchase another Whirlpool appliance again.

Ice maker has stopped making ice on several occasions. Also when you try to get ice out of the door dispenser, it will continues to release ice but will not go down the chute and when you open refrigerator door it spills out all over the place. Getting ice other than from the door is no easy task. I have taken to putting a bowl under the ice dispenser. Interior of refrigerator is not user friendly for positioning items. Bought in a hurry back in 2017 and have regretted it ever since.

I’m a 69 year old married man who has probably owned about 8-10 clothes washers during my life. I purchased my first Whirlpool washer about 1 1/2 years ago (Cabrio - model WTW8500DC2). It began leaving sediment on my clothes immediately, even though I followed the specific washing instructions. Whirlpool sent 3 different repairmen to fix the problem, each indicated there had been problems with this machine. None were able to fix the problem. When I called Customer Service for the 4th time, they refused to discuss the problem. They said there was nothing wrong with the machine, it was my problem, I must have too much “lint” in my clothes. Haven’t had that problem for 69 years, but this was their way of handling the problem. They refused any further help. I would discourage everyone from buying a Whirlpool product. I absolutely do not back their products. You are on your own!!

I purchased a brand-new, $4600 36 gas range online. They finally installed all appliances by 10:30 pm last Friday, July 8, 2011. On Saturday, July 9, 2011, I woke at 2 am to weird smell (gas). I opened all the windows and went back to bed not sure since we never had gas before. Gas company came out that day and determined that the burners were bypassing gas. Jenn-Air said it was normal for some gas to come out and that they have sent the repair technician out three times to not find any leaks. The gas company red-tagged the stove saying it was hazardous. Jenn-Air has terrible customer service. I was on the phone Monday to Friday this week, every day talking with safety managers to supervisors with no results. This will be the LAST Jenn-Air purchase EVER!

Purchased Whirlpool set from Lowes March 2016. Washing machine is not worth the metal its made from. Clothes are dirtier after the wash. All white linens are ruined! Clothes wont rinse or spin dry. Whirlpool wont reply nor will contracted repair return. The last repairman told us we would be better off taking the clothes out back and wash with hose because the Cabrio is useless and nothing can be done to fix it. I contacted place of purchase (Lowes). They wont help due to not buying warranty thru them. Stuck with the worse washer ever... never again Whirlpool.

We purchased this machine a couple of years ago... What a disappointment! Was recommended to me by the sales person and I trusted her. The machine does not get our clothes clean!!! We are a couple in our 60s so our clothes dont really get dirty most of the time, but they come out with marks on them all the time. My dish clothes and wash clothes are a disgrace! Im continually trying to soak them to try and get them to look clean. Ive been going to write this review for a long time, but today was the final straw. Washed a small load of towels and had to rewash several pieces! I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this experience.

Whirlpool Washer W10740628A - So disappointed! I have made adjustments for a year trying to get clean clothes from this machine. Compared to my previous machine which wore out, I now use more water because only deep water wash provides enough water; I always choose double rinse because if the machine does not clean, I do not trust it to rinse effectively either. I use more Tide than previously per wash; I use more Clorox than previously per wash. Everything from tea towels to heavily soiled jeans show stains and soils after washing. Instructions say not to spread the item in the washer but allow it to stack on itself, so twisted and tangled wet clothes are the result. I try to soak and scrub all visible dirt before I start the machine now; additionally, I use a mop or plunger or my hands to thoroughly immerse the clothes in the washer, somewhat like my mother did in 1950s. What on earth is this about and what is the buyer supposed to do???

As many others have posted - the Cabrio washer is awful. Cycle time > 1 hr. Clothes not clean and caked in soap even with extra rinse. Phone Whirlpool and found they dont care. All theyd say is its government regulation fault but for $100 they could send a technician to ensure it is working as designed. To environmental reasons for the new design, seems to me it missed the mark. Longer cycles, extra washes, extra rinses... All I can say is - Unbelievable!!!

I purchased an over-the-oven microwave in November 2020 (Model # WMH31017HZ). It worked until March 2021 then began tripping breaker. The Safety department at Whirlpool stated that I have to get a dedicated circuit. After spending an enormous sum to get that dedicated circuit the microwave worked until April when just opening the door caused a spark that the electrician and I observed. By now I am sure that I purchased a defective unit but Whirlpool was not believing it. (As as aside, expect to stay on hold for at least 10-30 minutes when you call Whirlpool).May 7th the serviceman from Guincho ordered parts that was needed to repair the oven. As of May 30th the part still had not arrived. Finally, after multiple calls and excessive hold time, Whirlpool agreed to refund my purchase price and as of this writing on July 26, 2021 I have not received it. In the meantime I purchased another brand microwave and have to look at their defective one until they decide to pick it up. They have lost a customer.

We purchased 6 six appliances for our home just over one year ago. The initial problem with the washing machine literally took ten home visit to resolve with the final solution being total replacement. Far too many days away from work. The laundry appliances have a loud beeping noise that goes off with the slightest contact, annoying and designed to be eliminated or muted. Today we discovered that the water filter in the fridge is single sourced at over $50 with shipping, which seems usurious at best. Will look elsewhere for the next house/purchase and NEVER buy from this company, including their other brands...Kitchenaid, Maytag, etc.

I purchased the 19 cu. ft. Whirlpool Estar refrigerator WRT 3595FYW on 4/28/12. Freezer began showing frost immediately. Repairman from Marcellas Appliance where purchased - (518) 381-1957, came to check it, put a sealer around the door openings of refrigerator and freezer. Frost continued. I called Whirlpool. They sent another repairman from EB Russell in Schenectady, NY, door needs replacing. Door was ordered and when received by them, the door was replaced on my refrigerator. In August 2012, frost is in freezer, on its roof, on the door daily. I called Whirlpool. I told them I wanted to remove it from my home. Whirlpools reply was, you have a repair warranty, not a replacement warranty. I was not advised of this when I purchased. Otherwise, I would have gone to Sears, Lowes, etc. On 8/16/12, another repairman from The Appliance Man, Albany will be here Monday. Its dishonest sale, replacement was advised possible by Marcella, that it was just a matter of course to get an okay from Whirlpool. This is not so. There is no replacement or return policy. Please help. Thank you.

Less than 1 year ago, I bought a washer and dryer. From the beginning, we have had a water problem and the water only comes cold... no warm water in the normal cycle. They came 6 times to service the machine and they cannot fix it. They said there is nothing is wrong with the machine but it does not wash with warm water in the normal wash cycle. I advise not to buy this product anymore. It is under a warranty so they should fix it or replace it. I am sick and tired of talking to them. They said if we send the service guy then I have to pay for it which is not acceptable because it is under a warranty. NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven
NOT Even a 1 STAR!!! We spent A LOT of money on a Whirlpool Smart wall oven combo. It has only been installed for about 2 hrs. My husband and I have been trying to figure out why all the features on the Whirlpool app aren’t working. Most of our home has smart features and is connected to our phones so it’s not the fact that we aren’t tech savvy. I finally gave up and decided I’ll call customer service line about it tomorrow when they open. It’s Sunday night so every number we call says it’s outside of business hrs. Then excited to turn on the oven for the first time I turn the oven on and the noise that the fan is making is so loud you can’t even talk over it. The oven has been off for 15 min now but the noise continues. 3000.00 for a huge disappointment. Not to mention the thing is HEAVY. So the thought of us having to remove it and replace it with another does NOT make us happy at all. Best Buy or Whirlpool WILL be the ones doing that. For the trouble and money spent that’s the least they can do. Also family is coming into town for the holiday. We made sure to purchase way ahead of time to be sure we had it, installed it and can use it a few times to get the new smell out of it. Very very upset, angry and disappointed. Now it’s been 10 more minutes and the loud broken fan still won’t even turn off. Now we have to shut it off at the breaker. At this point I don’t think we will be even exchanging it for the same product. I knew we should have bought a Samsung!

All my clothes smell like mold and I already have lung problems! Cant afford to buy new right now. But last month my dryer started making terrible banging noise and so repairman says I need another part! I bought the part more money! Just to have it quit again! Now the barrel split! I dont think I should have to pay the money I did for this set and surely shouldnt of had to replace so many things that went wrong or put up with the sewer smell from the washer!

We bought a Gold Series dishwasher on 2/12/2013. It stopped working properly and we had a service call on August 6, 2013. Since then, we have had 3 companies come out 5 different times to try to fix the machine. Nothing on the top rack gets clean. In fact ,they come out dirtier than when they go in. The last service call was on October 7, 2013. I was told by a Whirlpool representative that the repairman would call technical services and that if the problem was not solved, that the machine would be deemed unrepairable and that Whirlpool would replace the machine since it was within the warranty. I was also told that their standard is that if a machine has to have 3 service repairs to be deemed unrepairable. So 7 days after the last repair, the machine was still not washing correctly. Once again everything on the top rack was dirty. The machine has had the motor, the pump, and the hoses replaced. Still doesnt work. So I called again to get the ball rolling on replacing the machine and was told that they would not replace the machine and that I needed to have another repairman come out and sit in front of the machine and call technical service. Apparently, the previous repairman didnt follow their instructions. I called and complained twice, I guess Whirlpool thinks that as consumers we have the ability to change work schedules, school schedules, take vacation time, etc. to wait around for the 6th service call, and wait through the 5-hour window that we are given for the repairman to get there. Well we dont. Obviously I have given Whirlpool plenty of opportunities to fix this problem. They havent been able to do so with 3 different companies. There comes a time when you just stop kicking the dead horse. Now is that time. If they cant figure out whats wrong the first time, and not the second time, and not the third time, why do they think the 6th time is the charm? Because I got so upset with them, they referred me to a customer care manager. She called and left me a message, and I have been calling her now for 2 days with no success on her DIRECT line nonetheless. My phone calls are not returned. I wont even go into how many customer service reps told me a different story every time I called. Whirlpools customer service doesnt care about their consumers. They dont care about our complaints. Now I have a $600 piece of junk. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. I will make sure that every person I know that is looking at appliances knows about what a horrible company Whirlpool is. They just put crap in a shiny package!

I have purchased 2 Ikea/Whirlpool ovens in 2011 from Ikea in Canada. I have used the self clean feature on both ovens and both ovens quit completely and the doors stayed locked. This problem is discussed hundreds of times on the internet for Whirlpool, Ikea and Kitchen Aid ovens. Since they are all made by Whirlpool they are all very similar or exactly the same in some cases, as is the problem. I have discussed this with Ikea and they have said they didnt know about the problem but would help to get it fixed to my satisfaction. I have had Whirlpool authorized service repair both ovens but after trying the self clean feature again, same problem.During one of my conversations with an Ikea representative on the phone, she contacted Whirlpool and was told that if the oven was repaired 3 times and deemed by the service technician as unrepairable, Whirlpool would do a buyback. In other words according to Ikea, Whirlpool would take the oven and pay me what I paid for the oven. Well after contacting the authorized service dept (not Whirlpool itself) for the third time, they did some investigation with Whirlpool about the problem. To his and my amazement, Whirlpool has come up with a fix as of October 2013. The technician ordered the new kit and installed it in both ovens. I have since tried the self clean in one oven and this time it worked. For the information of others, Whirlpool has the kit and in it is an instruction sheet with pictures as to how to replace and install all the parts in the kit.I watched the installation, quite a process. From the instruction sheet there is a number on it. Here is the number - w10625529 rev. A 10/13. This is an instruction sheet for Ikea TOD (thermal overload device) service kit. I have looked at many of the service parts diagrams on the internet for many different current models of Ikea, Whirlpool and Kitchen Aid ovens and in most cases almost all the inside parts are the same or very very similar which leads me to the conclusion that this service kit may work in most of these ovens to correct the same problem, but I suggest checking with the appropriate service people before taking my word for it. My observation is that the kit moves the TOD off the top of the metal plate of the oven and onto a new bracket which the tech thought it was to get it further away from heat (this Im not sure of since Im not an expert). He also suggested that this kit may also be designed to allow more air flow around the oven.My only concern after having the self clean feature finally work is the heat produced inside the kitchen cabinet in which the oven is installed. Approximately an hour and a half after turning the self clean on, I felt the side of the cabinet between it and the fridge (open space), and at one area of the wood cabinet I could not hold my hand on the cabinet as it was too very hot. I will be checking the inside of the cabinet for signs of excess heat and if I see any evidence, I will again call the service people. Since the elements were not on when I checked this, I assume the self clean had finished the heat cycle and was in the process of cooling down. When I test the other oven, I will make sure the elements are still on as I can see them thru the glass door. When I checked the temperature of the outside wood cabinet using a laser thermometer, the outside wood registered 64 degrees C or 142 F approximately. Not sure what the inside temperature was as the oven was still in place. Hopefully I will not get a higher reading when the self clean is at its maximum temperature in the cleaning cycle. Will the oven create any problems in the future for the cabinet, I hope not but time will tell. For clarification, the cabinets were built by a kitchen cabinet company using the instruction sheet that came with the ovens. I hope some of this will be of help to some of the hundreds of people who have posted this very same problem on the internet. When you have paid for an appliance you wanted because of the features it came with, it should provide you with what you paid for and not constantly break down. Im lucky as they came with a 5-year warranty so it hasnt cost me anything yet and hopefully wont in the future. Good luck to all in getting this resolved for all of you.

During the initial warranty the oven was not heating properly. Several service calls within the warranty issue was not resolved. Whirlpool extended the warranty another year as of this date and several service calls problem not resolved. When a tech comes out there is a diagnostic check that checks the temp for 10 min. Since the temp drops after 10 min they cannot detect problem. I asked for the tech to remain for the complete cooking period which they cannot do. I purchased my Whirlpool side by side refrigerator approximately 6 months ago. Immediately upon delivery the compressor showed itself to be very noisy, especially upon start up. I questioned the delivery persons and was told it would become quieter with time. It did I not. In fact, in the following days it got worse. I contacted Whirlpool and was sent an “approved” repairman. The confusions and scheduling difficulties in this process, however, were many. Finally, when the man did arrive. He listened and said the refrigerator was working but agreed it was loud but apologized there was nothing he could do.I called Whirlpool again several times to note the noise and constantly was given the sympathy of people saying they “understood but there was nothing they could do.” Finally, out of desperation I contacted the store where I had purchased the refrigerator and they sent a manager who agreed the unit was unreasonably loud and took the refrigerator back. I researched the Whirlpool company and found they are essentially the same company that makes several other common American name brands, so I made a point not to purchase from any of these companies. Instead, I purchased from a foreign manufacturer and couldn’t be happier. All I can say is I tried to buy American but have been greatly disappointed by both the product and lack of customer service by Whirlpool. I will not buy from them or their other companies again.

My water heater burner went out after just over 3 years caused the pilot to go out. I was worried that although all parts were covered for 12 years and labor for only 3 and the labor would be very expensive. When I called and told them about the problem they said the part was covered and would ship it next day air but 10 minutes later another rep called and said they would cover the labor as well and to check a nearby service company as they might have the part in stock. Long story short without having to scream and yell my problem was corrected within 8 hours and all I have to do is drop off the new burner at the service company when it arrives. I have been lucky and haven't had many warranty problems in my life but none that I have had have been resolved so painlessly. I will never buy anything but Whirlpool from this day forward. After being a faithful Whirlpool consumer for years... I no longer have any faith. I purchased an entire kitchen suite. The side by side refrigerator Nov 2013. The first refrigerator was delivered with the side cabinet deeply dented in several areas. Another was delivered 4 weeks later. Silly me... I thought, Okay, no big deal... what could go wrong? I didnt take time off work again to receive the replacement. My son took delivery (never looked at it). I get home... the front of both doors looked like they had been kicked in all the way across! To add, the cabinet sides were textured (not smooth like what I ordered) and the door handles didnt match the other appliances. So, I called HDepot & called Whirlpool (only to be on the phone an hour each time due to high call volume. Imagine?). Then Whirlpool reps are talking to me like I am some sort of idiot... saying that the refrigerator was EXACTLY the same... not possible that the handles or sides were different!!! Because it was damaged (and I mean ridiculous! ) another 8 weeks for a replacement. Frig #3 arrives and I take time off to receive it. Ah, the right refrigerator... but again ~ handles dont match. Not POSSIBLE.. Ms. _ _ _ _... it is the exact refrigerator, those are the same handles. Hours and hours on the phone to HDepot and Whirlpool. Finally, HDepot rep has a WP rep at the store when I call, and bingo! Oh yes, there are two styles of the Exact same model. The handles are ordered... 10 weeks later I finally have matching handles! But, wait... gets better. The fridge has been loud from the start, CONSTANTLY running but, not cooling some areas and freezing in others. Then when you open the freezer it is like a burst of winter wonderland is unleashed in your face. There are sheaths of ice building up on the top of the inside door. Hmm, I think what is going on? The Whirlpool designated repair company comes out. Ah, well here is part of your problem. When the refrigerator was being put together they left a few thicknesses of blue packing tape between the door and the rubber seal in the freezer. The rep tried to fix it to no avail because the door was also warped. First they were going to replace the door. Waiting for another 10 weeks. Nobody calls, whats going on? Oh, never mind, or rather... that was never happening. I have spoken to many reps with Whirlpool, I have been polite with all. In turn, from most I get curt hard ball back. The offers to resolve this from Whirlpool have been ridiculous. I am sorry for my loyalty to Whirlpool, as it has not been reciprocated. I have had two more deliveries - both the wrong unit! I never thought there were others out there. What a mess. They should recall.

I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool
I replaced my 12 year old Whirlpool double ovens with the current Whirlpool double ovens. The new 30 built in double ovens have been re-designed to vent the heat below the lower oven. The ovens come with a part that pushes the heat down instead of straight out. My built in ovens have a cabinet drawer below and after using the ovens just 4 times over the holidays I noticed the heat is damaging the finish. According to Whirlpools service center I should have checked on that before buying/installing. They told me to stop using my ovens, that this is a fire hazard, but they are not responsible. They do not have a solution to this problem. This is a poor design on their part. There is a disclaimer in their installation booklet that came packed with the ovens that the installer gave me. It says the cabinets need to be able to withstand the heat of the ovens. The cabinets can handle the heat of the ovens, just not the hot air venting directly onto the cabinets below the oven. Where does one find cabinets that can withstand 400 degree heat being pushed directly onto them? As a customer I did not have that information until after the ovens were installed and it was too late to purchase another brand.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on 12-26-14 for approximately $2000.00. I was happy as a clam. On May 22, 2015 it died. No freezer or refrigerator. I called Whirlpool because I had a warranty, or so I thought. The Whirlpool representative was less than helpful, couldnt send a repair man until May 27th. When I told her that that date was unacceptable her response was well I could buy a new refrigerator. To say I was upset is an understatement. Everything in the freezer thawed of course and I cooked for 12 hours trying to save something and gave away all I could and filled the garbage can with the rest. I lost over a thousand dollars in food. Apparently my call to Whirlpool generated a survey sent to me and I filled it out with malice. Whirlpool called me regarding the survey and said they were sorry about the refrigerator but the appliance repair person would be there on the 26th, and oh by the way will you do another survey about their response to my concerns? I was not very lady like when I told them no. So here we are on the 26th and Ive gotten a robo call saying the appliance repair man would be here between 2 and 5pm on the 26th. That repair man showed up @ 4:45pm. He never looked at the refrigerator. I told him exactly what had happened and what noises the refrigerator was making. He promptly picked up his laptop and said I will turn the report in and their office would call me tomorrow to schedule a repair man to come and fix it. Needless to say I was livid and told him that I had been led to believe that the refrigerator would be fixed by him that day. He promptly left right after he gave me his business card. So here we are on the 28th and no one from that company or Whirlpool has contacted me about when repairs will be made. I have never been this upset or angry in my life. I have a worthless piece of junk sitting in my kitchen. Ive lost thousands of dollars. I had saved that money to buy a new refrigerator and Im not a rich person. In fact, I am a retired nurse living on social security and all I want is a working refrigerator that Ive already paid for. Apparently Whirlpool could care less. Im at my wits end as to what to do next. Of course I will call the appliance repair company tomorrow to see if they are going to fix it. I hold out no hope that it will be repaired. And yes, Im tired of buying ice.

My whirlpool duet was extremely quiet the first few times I used it and seemed to work well. Then I noticed that it randomly drained the clothes but didnt spin them, it did it on different cycles, and I would have to run the load again on spin and drain, another 19 minutes of run time. After a week it began to make metal scrapping sounds on the spin cycle and vibrated to the point that it moved the pictures on my walls. I called Whirlpool customer service and they authorized a service call. In short, the service man was very confrontational told me there was nothing wrong and charged me $72. It still vibrates and randomly doesnt spin. But now after he took it apart it sounds like a jet engine when it does spin. Whirlpoolss response after repeated calls? We recently purchased a Whirlpool fridge, model WRT138FFDW and are very disappointed with a couple things. First of all, the refrigerator arrived with a broken shelf. Although it was no problem getting a replacement, we found out quickly that it is very hard to balance things on a wire shelf. Water bottles and the like fall over. It is completely our fault for not noticing when we purchased, but just giving you a heads up that it will be a pain for you. Secondly, the sound of the fridge is very loud. It truly is driving my wife crazy. When we called Whirlpool, we were told that if they come out to take a look and the part is not under warranty, we would be charged $129. It is a brand new refrigerator, how can some parts not be covered??!! On a positive note, it does keep things cold and the color white is nice. Our problem is the same problem with hundreds of other people: Whirlpool fridges burning, smoking, and being a life threatening hazard to families all over America because of the faulty relay to compressor. Whirlpool better recall this model. They need to fix this or they will have much bigger issues to deal with (corporate manslaughter from a known issue and no action or protection for its consumers). I purchased a Whirlpool Water Heater Model # ND50T122-403 on March 4, 2011 from Lowes. I had it installed by Lowes and it included a 12 YEAR Manufacturers (WHIRLPOOL) WARRANTY, plus I purchased an additional 11 YEAR EPP (Extended Protection Plan) WARRANTY. About 3 weeks ago I had no hot water so I went down to my basement to check the water heater and it displayed 7 single blinks followed by a 3 second pause, which is a flammable vapor sensor lock-out code. I made sure there was no flammable vapor in the area, turned off the gas and pulled out the plug then called Lowes since I have an active warranty with them. They said I had to wait 3 business days for them to call back to set-up an appointment to have it repaired. I waited 3 business days including the weekend and no one called me back by the end of the 3 business days, so I called Lowes back and they set-up an appointment for a video store owner with a plumbing license to come over and try to fix it. Finally I thought I would have hot water after over 2 weeks without it, but the plumber started taking it apart and about an hour later said he needed to order a part and he would be back another day when he gets the part. He came back 2 days later to install the part and fix it, but he could not fix it. He called Whirlpool to report the issue and Whirlpool told him they would not honor the warranty because my basement was not safe. He then told me he would call Lowes to let them know about Whirlpools position and call me back. So when he called me back he said Lowes said the current warranty was under Whirlpool and their warranty was only effective after the initial 12 year manufacturers warranty was up, so they would not help any further. So after only 4 1/2 years with a 12 year manufacturers warranty and an additional 11 year extended protection warranty that I purchased from Lowes, Whirlpool will not honor the warranty that came with this water heater. I am going to take this to small claims court. Whirlpool and Lowes have terrible customer service policies. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product and I will NEVER again shop at Lowes. Please do NOT EVER buy a Whirlpool water heater! TAKE YOUR CLAIM TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT FOR SATISFACTION! Maybe an attorney will put in another class action suit against Whirlpool and/or Lowes.

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is only 4 years old. I have had balancing & spin issues since day one. Thought it was just me. Constantly had to drain and spin after rebalancing. Now 10 days ago it cost me $250 to have it fixed. The aqcuator (?) Went. It wouldnt spin out. Now 10 days later it stops again. The appliance guy reads code. F7E7. He tells me the bearings are no good. Will cost another $400 and they need some special tool to fix it. IM DONE. My last set was 15 years old. The price is ridiculous and quality not worth what this triple capacity set cost.

We have a Whirlpool French door refrigerator with freezer drawer in bottom that is 2 years old. It makes a loud buzzing noise and freezes up in back of the freezer, as in a defrost problem. We have had THREE repairmen here to fix the problem, and after $650 in parts and labor, the same problem exists. Finally we were told that this $170 beautiful Whirlpool refrigerator is deemed repairable and is junk. Whirlpool will not remedy the problem and three service techs cannot seem to repair it. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product... EVER!

Never again will I buy a Whirlpool product. I paid over $800 for a new washer 51/2 years ago. I had it worked on twice under extended warranty. Now the bearings are out of the tub and it sounds like a jet taking off when it spins. I had whirlpool products in the past and they lasted for years with no problems. I have a friend who has a relative who is an engineer for whirlpool and his job is to engineer their products so they fail within a certain time frame. They dont want them to last like they use to. They now have gotten their product line to the point where they can tell when it will fail. This is crap. What happened to products that lasted like they use to. NEVER BUY WHIRLPOOL.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine on 16 Feb 2011. I started having problems with it in June. It was making very loud noises when it was agitating and the clothes were still wet after the spin cycle. I called Nebraska Furniture Mart where I purchased it and they said that after 30 days, I had to call the manufacturer. I called Whirlpool and they sent A&E out to fix it. The technician that came out spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it. When he was gone, I was left with two inches of water on my washroom floor and I had to pull the washer and dryer out myself to wipe it up. He ordered a part that came the next week and a different technician came out to put it in. After looking at the washer, the second technician said that the first technician diagnosed it wrong and he ordered a new transmission for it. About a week later, the transmission arrived at my house and a third technician came to install it. The washer worked for a few days and started acting up again and leaking water. I once again called Whirlpool and they sent yet another technician out. I told Whirlpool that I had lost faith in A&E so they sent All Appliances out. The technician from All Appliances said that it needed a transmission and he would have to order it in. A few days later, he came back to install it. It worked for a few loads. The leaking had stopped but now, it does not spin out the clothes. To make matters worse, it now releases the Downy at the wrong time and I now have blue spots all over my clothes. I have made repeated calls to Whirlpool and talked to two different managers. I asked the first manager for her direct number so I wouldnt have to go through the whole explanation again if I needed to call back. But she gave me her number without her 4-digit extension so, there was no way of finding her again. When I talked to the second manager (by this time, I have lost my patience), I told him my whole story and I told him that Whirlpool has spent $1,000.00 between parts and technician service on a $460.00 machine and it still doesnt work. It is a lemon and I deserve a voucher for the full price to purchase something different. After one and a half hours on the phone, Lukas informed me that the only thing he could do was to send yet another technician to my home. I have lost all faith in Whirlpool and I believe that they do not stand behind their product. They only push you until the warranty has expired! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again!

I bought a matched set of Whirlpool washer and dryer. Within about 3 months the dryer quit running on any of its cycles except heavy duty. About a month after that the washer started messing up. First it quit putting in the bleach. Next it quit adding water except under the heavy duty cycle. Then after about another week or so it quit putting in fabric softener. After a couple of more months it only uses hot water. Now not quite a year after I purchased it the washer now only adds water in the wash mode and not the rinse cycle. Now all this would not be a problem except I had lost the warranty cards and in their website would not let me register it online.

We bought a Whirlpool range. The same day we got it the burner exploded and my electricity went off. I called the customer service to request a replace, they told me a technician had to go and look at it. They did. I had to miss a day of work as they come between 9 to 5 pm (will not tell you what time). The guy say the range is defective (really!??) and will need to request parts. I called them again (after 15 times you wait minimum 30 min each time). They told me they can replace the parts. I said I bought a new appliance not an use one. Money back. Told me somebody will contact me. Week later nobody contact me and still waiting 30 min each time. I called nobody answer my calls. I wonder I may get somebody if I wait hours? No idea. Please do not buy from this guys... They are bad in all the way.

In 2008, I purchased the 40-gal. Whirlpool electric water heater to replace the original unit in my home that had lasted 14 years without issue until it died of old age. After about 2 1/5 years, it died and I was given authorization to return it to Lowes at my insistence. Now after another 2 1/5 years, this one has died. So far, I have replaced both elements, lost a days work, missed out on a date because I could not take a shower and now Im told I have to replace the electrical box on top which wont get here until Monday. Its Saturday and I havent been able to take a shower in my home for 5 days now.The first CSR (Crystal) I spoke with implied that since I had 2 consecutive failures, this was a site problem, not a product problem. Theres nothing special about my site, and my old unit made it 14 years with zero repairs. I would argue that since both of the units only lasted 2 1/5 years, that the product is substandard. I asked to speak to a manager but was told no because they were all busy (no doubt) and her demeanor was unapologetic and unsympathetic. The second CSR (Nick) I spoke with was very nice and at least sympathetic. That goes a long way in customer service, but I was still not allowed to speak with a manager.I am going to try and repair it one more time, but I have zero confidence in Whirlpool and would never buy another Whirlpool product of any sort again. If I get it working, and after all Ive read here I doubt that I will, I will only be using it for the time it takes to get a replacement of another brand. This was my first experience with a Whirlpool product and you can be sure it will absolutely be my last.

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

Every appliance Ive ever owned has been a Whirlpool product. I am on my second set of Cabrio washers and dryers. I havent had any issues with the dryers, but the washers are a different story. My first washer, bought in 2008, started throwing water and oil underneath while spinning. A service technician came out... I had to have the entire tub replaced seeing as how the bearings that went bad were in the motor/spinning assembly that was built into the tub. I moved in 2011 and needed another washer and dryer. I was told the problem had been addressed. Now Im having the same problem... the washer is so loud when spinning, you can hear it on the opposite end of the house with doors closed! So the bearing problem has NOT BEEN ADDRESSED!!! Whirlpool will not stand by this product!! Loyalty is not a factor in their assistance... Only profit!!!

Our just over 1 year old Whirlpool washer died completely last month (mid May). After calling them and being directed to the extended warranty dept (which we ended up purchasing), a repair guy came out and told us it was our main controller board. Three days later, he returned with the board and nothing. We were then told it was the user interface. They were on backorder until June 5, which means our machine would be out of commission for three weeks. I just received another call informing us the part was now on backorder until June 15. Whirlpool, on what planet is it acceptable for your appliances to be out of commission for six full weeks? Never again.

How would you like to be without a refrigerator for 10+ days? How do you justify 10 days without a service tech being available for what I call an emergency! Either you need to hire more technicians or make BETTER products. My suggestion is have a supervisor go out to a call first and access the problem. My case, a tech shows up after waiting 10 days, to tell me my refrigerator needs all the parts. Which means Ill have to wait probably another 2-3 weeks for the parts to arrive. Im sure the parts werent ordered to be expedited. Im beyond furious. We lost everything in our freezer. Doesnt stay frozen in coolers. When we purchased the refrigerator, just under two years ago, the service tech was out three separate times because our ice maker kept going on the blink. Finally, I purchased ice maker, because your refrigerator only makes ice when it wants. Not reliable! Second problem, the lights in refrigerator & freezer went out. Real smart to install LED lights that can only be replaced by a technician. Insane for the consumer. (Cost of lights replaced w/o warranty contract is $100). DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU ENJOY MISERY!!Why would you put glossy black finish on front of refrigerator, and the sides have black texture, where you cant see fingerprints. Has to be cleaned daily! Hope you can rectify the problem before two more weeks pass. Model: WRS322FDAB. SERIAL#: HR72710418. Not a fan of your lemon of refrigerator. In January 2016 we ordered a Whirlpool Dishwasher through Home Depot. First, Whirlpool delivered the wrong dishwasher and the installer took my old one away - leaving minimal options to correct the problem quickly. Home Depot did not make the order Model # error but they did compensate for the error. Now, with 18 months of very low use (2 in household - prewashing all the dishes) the pump on the dishwasher is gone. Before posting this review I contacted Whirlpool via email. Two weeks later I had a phone message and I returned the call only to wait for 30 minutes to get through to a customer service agent who could offer absolutely no solutions or compensation for their poor quality product or service. There needs to be a zero on the scale of STARS to reflect Whirlpools overall quality.

Whirpool Product VMW TL WASHER with impeller absolutely is crap. I have it almost a year and it smells, and it noisy like a dog was in the machine and someone started it. Its off balance constantly. I hate it and will place on every blog the worst review I can write. Its a nightmare. It has a fake bleach dispenser a door but no holder underneath. Even the repairman thought the bleach went in the dispenser. My clothes were ruined along with sheets, etc on numerous washes. The bleach partially dispensed on dark clothes at least 8 washes. The washer was purchased at BrandsMart 11 months ago and so theres no returns.

We purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Sears about four, maybe five years ago and have complained repeatedly. We have had repairmen out numerous times. Of course, they have had to order parts. My clothes are not getting clean and they now have an odor to them. The machine is getting noisier and noisier and it is rocking like crazy (I had to put plyboard underneath to protect the floor) during the rinse cycle. The water sprays out erratically and sprays even slower for cold water, then warm water, which was weird! Thankfully, I still have it under warranty (I got the extended warranty). I am now getting ready to call them again. I will never buy this brand again.

We paid extra for a 10 year warranty on purchase from Airport Appliances. On delivery I commented that the plastic material used throughout the fridge was of very flimsy material and wobbly. In the first week the crisper drawer joint cracked to our amazement and they had to send another one from Whirlpool. In the 14th month after the Whirlpool warranty had expired, we found the pantry drawer lid/cover shattered by the door which shut on it because of no reasonable leeway provided in its design. On calling the special warranty people they said they only covered the compressor and parts and nothing else. Called Whirlpool who quoted $85.00 for the lid, plus S&H and taxes. Now we have an eyesore every time we open the fridge when we see the taped up cracked three foot pantry drawer lid. We badly regret giving away a 25 year old perfectly working Whirlpool Workhorse Fridge and buy this newer model which we will have to live with for a quarter of a century. I am 75 years old now. Never a Whirlpool again!

We bought this microwave/hood combo at Home Depot and installed it in our second home roughly 16 months ago. We used it very little over that period because the home is only for vacations. The plastic handle began to disintegrate where it connects to the door (top and bottom) to the point where there is very little plastic remaining. We called the service center and the woman attending to us told us she had never heard of that happening before. Either she had just started working there that day, or she was lying because there are dozens of similar complaints on this very website.I do not understand what is to gain by denying a manufacturing defect. It simply makes no sense to me that a company would allow their reputation be so tarnished. What an ignorant and short-sighted business practice. The machine is two years old. It cost over $1,000 to buy. From the beginning, we have had mold issues with the machine. The entire house fills with the smell of rotten eggs every time we use it. The machine is used daily so it doesnt sit for long periods. Despite all the complaints online about their machines, Whirlpool refused to acknowledge that there is a design problem with the machine. They refused to make any repairs or buy the machine back and their only suggestion was to buy more chemicals from them to use to clean the machine. We have done this in the past to no avail. Oh, they did offer to send out a service company but on my dime. Whirlpool needs to be sued and I only wish that someone would start a class action suit against them. It really stinks when you try and do the right thing and buy American only to have the company not give a crap about their customers or the fact that their product is garbage. About 10 years ago, I had a Maytag front loader washing machine with the same problem. Maytag bought the machine back on a pro-rated basis, no problem, no question. Of course, Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool. Too bad they didnt adopt Maytags customer service policy. I cant wait for them to go out of business - something they deserve.

We purchased this water heater (Whirlpool 50 gallon, 9-year warranty, Regular Electric Water Heater, Model Number ES50R92-45D) in July 2015 when Lowes had a special financing offer. Doing other remodeling in the house, we didnt have it installed until the beginning of November. A local licensed plumber installed this for us and we havent had a hot shower since. We have called Whirlpool at least five times. Theyve had us replace the elements, replace the electronic thermostat AND the regular thermostat, then they even had us call a warranty plumber they use to inspect the tank and authorize what needs to be done next. When he arrived, he said he hadnt ever even SEEN this model before. Being fed-up with cold showers, I called Lowes to see if we could just take the thing back to the store, but they said that since it was after the 90 days, I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I just spent another 20 minutes on the phone with Whirlpool explaining my situation and they said that they cant authorize the return of a tank that can be repaired. I then asked if we didnt have a money back guarantee and the guy said, Unfortunately NO. He then suggested I call the plumber they had recommended to come out and look at it again. The guy was from Tampa and when he was here, he just wanted to get home since it was nearly 5 PM AND hes the one who said he had never seen this model before. What would be the point of calling him AGAIN??? When I buy a BRAND NEW product still in the box from a reputable store, I do NOT expect to have to troubleshoot and fix it. IT SHOULD WORK. Well, I have learned another valuable lesson from the school of hard knocks (and cold showers)...Always read the comments on a product before purchasing.

We purchased a Whirlpool washer model WTW7500 in November of 2017. I found the clothes were not getting clean and also noticed that even after a full wash some parts of the clothing or sheets had dry spots! I checked all connections and called for service. As soon as the serviceman saw the machine he said, “yes, that’s a problem with those machines”. They are low water/water saving as per some American regulation and that’s what happens... you’re going to have to live with it. He also suggested running an extra rinse and using “deep water” function. I did this and it made very little difference except now a wash cycle for bedding is 104 minutes! Also, still had a big dry spot on my sheets! When I called again to Whirlpool they scheduled another repairman for a second opinion, turned out to be the same person with the same answers... I called Whirlpool again and was informed that my washing machine is working as designed! I argued that a washing machine is designed to wash and clean clothes so this one does not do what it is designed for... I spoke to the supervisor, she was actually just rude, also said I not had 30 days to make a complaint and I was outside of that, when I asked to speak to her supervisor she said there was no one above her although she denied being the owner of Whirlpool! (That’s my little joke). Anyway wish someone had warned me prior to this purchase.

I called the company and they said get someone in our area to come in and see if anything is wrong. Yep, they came in, charged me $150 and said that nothing is wrong; they cannot find one thing wrong. I used the washer for about another 6 months and thought, This is crazy! Purchased a Whirlpool Electric Range August 2015. Purchased it because it looked pretty and the Aqua Lift Cleaning feature sounded too good to be true. As it turned out it WAS too good to be true! I have just read a # of reviews about this range and I agree with all complaints. Does anyone like this range? The AquaLift cleaning technology is a joke! The baking temperature fluctuates & I could not figure out how to improve on that (for the longest time I thought it was just me not being able to figure out my new oven). The most serious concern however, happened a couple of weeks ago when I turned on the oven & immediately the oven started to smoke and an electrical smell permeated throughout the house. Had I started the oven and immediately left the house our house would no doubt have been destroyed by an explosion/fire.Phoned Whirlpool & because the problem was so serious they had a serviceman at our door within 2 days (yes I am being sarcastic, it did take 2 days). At no time did the call centre express any concern nor did they advise me to unplug the range and to make sure I did not use it. Obviously, I would not use it but shouldnt that be something they advise as part of the checklist talking points.Serviceman arrives 2 days later & advises us that the parts alone would cost $650.00 & oh yes the labour costs to install the parts would be charged by the minute. I didnt even ask him how much per minute because only an idiot would repair this piece of junk!! The power cord to the range had basically melted right through; you could scrape the char right off the cord. The computer part of the range was shot and had a strong electrical smell to it. The serviceman basically said that I shouldnt shoot the messenger and charged us 93.45 to tell us that it was going to be a very costly repair.I disliked this range almost immediately and was looking forward to the day when I would have an excuse to purchase another electrical range. I did not think I would be shopping for another range within 1 1/2 years from the time I purchased this piece of crap!!! Nor did I think that there would be a possibility that this appliance could potentially be hazardous to my family and home. How long is Whirlpool going to ignore all these customer complaints? This range should be recalled! It not only is selling features such as the Aqua Lift technology that do not work properly, it is selling a potential fire hazard.I will never again purchase any appliance that is made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool makes a lot of appliances and uses names such as Maytag, Amana. KitchenAid, etc. I have purchased another range and this one is made by Frigidaire (no connection whatsoever to Whirlpool). I dont know what my experience will be with my new Frigidaire Range but so far I am loving it! Hopefully, my new appliance will not nearly burn my house down. Whirlpool: Step up to the plate & take responsibility for the defective electrical range you are selling before there is serious harm to persons or property! THIS ELECTRIC RANGE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED - MODEL # YWFE715HDEHD.

We purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cambrio #WTW8000BWO) in December of 2014. It is now 3 1/2 years old and while the washer worked great til just recently, we now have to purchase a different one because this one will cost too much to repair. We did not get the extended warranty. I have since read that the Cambrio has had a lot of problems. Always check the long term owners and what they have to say about the item, would never have purchased this washer had I known what the problems were and that they even were having them they should have taken it off the market til they got the situation fixed.

I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed
I bought a new Whirlpool gas hot water 40 gal tank from Lowes. I Installed it, but the pilot light would not light. So Cal Gas Co came out and said they did not like the new design, but that was how they were now making them. Gas is shot out from a pipe into the tank, however its fairly open. The pilot ignitor is similar to the one on barbarques that often do not last. You cannot get to it to light it manually. Several calls were made to Whirlpool and they sent a repair man out to fix it. You can imagine buying a new hot water heater and having it work part time. The repair man explained that the unit needed a new thermopile, but he could not put one on until whirlpool authorized it, which they would not. After a rather heated conversation with whirlpool they agreed to FedEx a part overnight. Of course the repairman could not wait for me to call and had to come back again. The pilot light still does not stay lit, and Whirlpool now wants to talk about how the tank is vented. This has nothing to do with the pilot light, nor did putting in a new 1/2 gas line and valve as per Whirlpools request. Whirlpool has a problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. However, it is Lowes that chose to buy from whirlpool and they do little if anything to stand behind their product and gain consumer confidence. My suggestion would be dont buy whirlpool, and shop at Home Depot.

Electrolux dishwasher model EI24ID50QS - My husband picked this dishwasher
Electrolux dishwasher model EI24ID50QS - My husband picked this dishwasher after reading all the good reviews. However, after having issues with it, I tried to post my review and it would not post. I think Electrolux is somehow only posting good reviews and leaving out the bad. I had a technician come out to see why it took 6 hours to go through the cycle along with not cleaning the dishes well. He said I needed to run hot water before starting the cycle and that I needed to prewash my dishes before loading. In other words, its not a dishwasher but a sanitizer. Keep in mind that I rinse my dishes before loading, so I dont have food particles stuck dry on my dishes. So, I used his method of running hot water before cycle is started. It works ok when you dont use your kitchen faucet during the dishwashing cycle. However, the minute you use your faucet, the dishwasher runs for 6 hours! This is the worst dishwasher ever! Not to mention, the control panel is so sensitive that if you accidentally touch a cycle to start, you cant get it to cancel. It is ridiculous. Dont buy! It will be your biggest mistake.

We purchased a new motor home with a whirlpool refrigerator. The refrigerator went out three months after purchasing this new motor home. We have had two expertise come out and check. Both repairmen said there was a leak in the cabinet and needed to be replaced. They called Whirlpool who will not honor the warranty. We are still under warranty but it is not worth the paper it is written on. Do not buy their products because their products do not work and they will not replace broken items from the manufacture. Will have to contact better business. Not material enough to hire attorney. This is what they count on. BEWARE.

We purchased a Whirlpool Overhead microwave and Quiet Dishwasher in May of 2017. Within the first year, the microwave needed new sensors installed. The repair person said this was a design flaw and he was getting many calls. Then at 13 months, the dishwasher wouldnt drain. The repair person fixed the problem and left reset directions because this can commonly happen. Now at 18 months later, the drainage problem wont resolve even with the reset. Whirlpool extended the warranty by 6 months but wont cover this repair. Two appliances, two problems. Dont buy Whirlpool.

I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. This was a huge mistake - I paid between 600-800 for this machine, and it is a piece of garbage. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? I really dont get how these big companies get away with selling crap, knowing all the while that the consumer is getting screwed - yet people continue to buy them..
