Whirlpool side by side. When the compressor cycles, there is a loud knocking noise. Called Whirlpool when under warranty with no results. They could not tell me the cause of the knocking. Sort of live with it attitude. The funny part is when we have someone visiting and the knocking starts, they are puzzled as to why we are not answering the door. Sounds like someone knocking on the front door. We have been whirlpool customers for 30 years. Probably will not be so in the future. Too bad that a great company has go the way of the Nash and Studebaker automobile.

I bought a dishwasher with a 5 year warranty. It broke just after one year of purchase and they are giving me the runaround with replacing after finding that the part the part needed to repair machine is no longer available. The warranty clearly states that they will repair or replace with same or comparable machine and they are refusing to do so. I am at my wits end and I have no one to turn to within Whirlpool as they say it is their decision how they want to handle warranty.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator and it is the 2nd one in 12 months. The first one the refrigerator was freezing food in the fridge part and thawing food in the freezer part. After several times a technician came to try to fix the problem and arguments with Whirlpool. They finally replaced the refrigerator. The new one is now doing the same thing. I am contacting Whirlpool tomorrow.

I regret buying this washer. No complaint about the dryer but this washer has been the worst investment I have ever made. My clothes gets tangled up - seems like theyre not as clean as with my old washer which by the way I still have. I wanted a bigger set because I hated spending days off doing laundry but I spend as much time rewashing again and getting clothes untangled.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio about 3 years ago. Have never really like it. It doesnt add enough water to the wash cycle unless you use the bulky setting, which fills the tub up the entire way, so wastes water. It would have been nice to choose your water level like you could on the old machines. Now it wont drain completely and wont spin totally. Ive tried using the drain/spin cycle 2-3 times extra and it still wont spin all the water out. Ive noticed that there is still water in the drum, you can hear it slosh when you move the drum, so I wonder - has anyone ever been told there is a filter in there somewhere that might be clogged keeping it from draining completely? My husband thinks that maybe all the water in the bottom of the drum is not letting it spin because its throwing it off balance. And yes, it stops before the cycle is complete and just sits there and blinks and you have to unplug it to clear the cycle. What a pain. We will never again buy a Whirlpool and I absolutely do not recommend Whirlpool washers. I have a Maytag as well and have not yet had problems with it. Bought it at the same time we bought the Cabrio (2 households). At least the water levels in the Maytag are a little more normal. You can wash more than 1 pair of jeans and get them clean in the Maytag. For those of you with the problem of the clothes not smelling clean - try running the clean cycle with a cup of bleach about once a week. No clothes in it - just a cup of bleach in the bleach dispenser and nothing else. Works for us.

On 12/27/2013 I bought a Whirlpool hot water heater from Lowes Model NU50T122-403. On 12-13-2015 the pilot went out. When I called tech support on 12-14-2015 they gave number what were call centers or person who returned the calls. So I called a local plumber that I used before. He came out and told me that had to replace the pilot. On the 16th 2015 of Dec. that did not work and told us the heater needed to be replaced. The replacement will happen today I hope with little to no help from Whirlpool. I would advise you to do your homework before you buy a Whirlpool hot water heater.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set. The heating element went out on the dryer when it was less than a year old. I purchased the set at Lowes. They sent out a repair person who called and told them it was the heating element and he replaced it. Two weeks went by and I could smell something burning. I called Lowes and after two weeks wait the repairman showed back up. He said that the control panel was bad. Lowes replaced my dryer and I have not had any further issues with it. Lowes gets an A+. My washer went out about a year later. It was making the loudest noise on the spin cycle. The repair person came out about 2 weeks after I called and told me that the washer was basically worthless, that the repair would cost more than the washer would to replace. I was totally shocked and decided to use it until it died. In the meantime, I found a repair/used appliance place. They repaired it for $235 and it ran for about 4 months. Then the noise returned. I have had it repaired again. Now the control panel gives me the SE light and stops running with 27 minutes left in the wash cycle. I have had nothing but problems with this machine. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone. Im going to have to replace this machine and it has cost me lots of $$. Junk!!

This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.

Ice build up in the freezer, water tube to the ice maker frozen, food in the fridge freezing, blah, blah. They have taped, glued, replaced everything they can and to no avail. It still happens. Its supposed to be energy efficient yet it takes AT LEAST two times as long to get one load done, regardless of size or cycle preference! Now laundry takes all day! Literally! And why is there a lid lockout? Did someone accidentally fall in? If I drop something after Ive pushed start, I have to wait until the machine unlocks the lid. Why? This seems counterproductive. Its a top loader!

Called service, they immediately knew that the main bearing was going out & quoted the two parts needed to fix THAT COSTS MORE THAN THE MACHINE DID NEW! Labor was not included. Was also told that it will eventually start leaking. Piece of junk. What happened to simple washers that did a good job washing in half the time that lasted 15 to 20 years???

All of my whites come out yellowish and I am getting what could be rust stains on heavier cloth (white denim). Also, I regularly used the soak setting on my old Whirlpool. That setting is not available in the Cabrio. I have tried catching between cycles and the drum is constantly emptied. I wish Id read these reviews before I bought.

After 3 weeks, I called Whirlpool again and was told that the rust is cosmetic. I insisted that I have other appliances with stainless steel and they do not rust. I paid over $1,000.00 for a washer based upon previous experience with Whirlpool appliances. I am single, over 65, and use this machine infrequently, as compared to when I had children. The only thing Whirlpool is offering is another of their machines at a discounted price. I value principles more than dollars. I refuse to give them another $600+ as a reward for making junk which apparently should have been recalled. The part I need is not available any place Ive found online. And it completely controls the power to the machine. You cannot open the door, you cannot turn it on. I had two service calls to discover this part is not available.

The last repairman said it could be fixed and started the procedure to get an exchange since it was still under warranty, but now Whirlpool is saying they still want to fix it even after we were told we were getting an exchange. NU40T61-403 have had problems since day one. First problem was while heating up would make loud humming noise. Whirlpool sent out plumber. He adjusted plate under tank. That worked for about 2 months. Then pilot started going out. They send same plumber out again, also sent replacement part. Problem was fixed however about 2 months after that started leaking and flooding our garage. Called company again, was told that is no longer under warranty and stated we need a thermal expansion tank. I stated “why would we need this? This unit is only a little over a year old. Im not going to purchase another tank. A water heater should not overheat like this.” Long story short my husband has been burnt severely from the pressure build up as he was out in our garage walking past the tank when it decided to release pressure even though no water was being used at that time. He ended up at the ER with 2nd-3rd degree burns. I called Whirlpool again and was only told we need to install the expansion tank. Im so unhappy with this product I will never buy anything made by whirlpool again.....

Plus I had to mix my softener into a cup of water to add it on rinse because I forgot the rinse ball, unlike the old washer where I add into dispenser & forget about it. So unhappy & dissatisfied.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! Now, all the plastic surrounding shelves have cracks and the slides for the pull out drawers are also broken. My wife and I are retired and have not overstressed the shelves. I purchased an 80-gallon electric water heater in 2009 with a Lifetime warranty. When the unit failed in 2021, I was told that Whirlpool no longer manufactures an 80-gallon tank. I was provided an R/A# and was told that Lowes should honor it with a like-kind replacement unit. Lowes originally suggested I order an AO Smith Hybrid online, (at my expense), return my old tank, and they would reimburse my account. When I went back to confirm this offer, it was adjusted to a $200 credit (suggesting that was the value at the time of purchase). Later, Lowes again adjusted their offer to cover $650 toward a replacement 50-gallon tank with a 6-year warranty and 30-gallons less capacity. Other manufactures do produce 80-gallon tanks and Lowes does have AO Smith tanks available online only. I would have to pay the difference beyond the $650 offer.I purchased the original 80-gallon tank because I need the capacity and I assumed the Lifetime warranty would allow for an even trade if/when something went wrong. The proper solution would be for Whirlpool/Lowes to offer a replacement value for any comparable 80-gallon tank regardless of the manufacturer. Currently, similar tanks average $1300-1500. (Westinghouse w/ Lifetime warranty at Home Depot). Lowes should also be able to order the tank for in-store delivery as opposed to having me order online at my own expense. Meanwhile, the current tank is leaking and will soon be out of service...

I purchased this washer about a year ago and have been dissatisfied with its performance since Day One. It takes a long time to run a cycle and has not saved me any water or electricity. I always have to add a second rinse because it doesnt get the soap out (using the recommended detergent) with the regular cycles. Sometimes it doesnt get my clothes clean.Today it tore huge holes in the front and back of one of my very favorite T-shirts, which was a very meaningful gift from a very good friend. This was due to its tangling the clothes even more tightly than it usually does; the tangling process was what tore the material. I always take pains to load the machine in the manner instructed, to put the clothes in loose balls around the outside of the drum, but nevertheless it can take me several minutes to untangle my laundry before I put it in the dryer (also a Whirlpool -- just waiting to see how it disappoints). If I had read the reviews here before I selected my new machines, I would never have purchased the Whirlpool washer or dryer. I certainly never will purchase Whirlpool machines again.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio with the touch panel and top loader. The absolute worst. The machine leaves white marks all over dark clothes even when the extra rinse feature is used. Ive tried multiple detergents, skipping fabric softener completely, using very little detergent, and even tried different water temperatures. Nothing works. And should one have to go through such extremes to not have white streaks left on dark clothes? Absolutely not especially for the money spent. The machine wrinkles clothes like I have never see before. The dryer usually gets them out but not always. They are mangled after washing. Using the first or second spin speed helps reduce some but they are wetter going into the dryer that way. If I wash bed clothes, the tight fitting sheet that fits snugly around the mattress must be washed alone. If not, all the other items end up encased in it as if youve intentionally packed it that way to carry everything around. This leaves everything absolutely soaked. I have also had shirts come out with dry spots on them. How does a piece of clothing come out of a washer with more than one dry spot on it? And no I did not over pack the machine.I have had no problems with the dryer. It does its job so no complaints on that. I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio to my worst enemy. Complete waste of time, money, and water!!! Very disappointed and will never buy from this company again and will prevent anyone else from doing so the rest of my life. Did the company do zero testing on this machine before selling it? Because I see a lot of repetitive reviews. Or the company was well aware and did not care and just wanted to make money? Either way is unacceptable. Garbage!!!

I bought model N40S61-403 gas water heater. I had it installed, and then I came to find out that you cannot common vent with another power vented unit. I contacted Whirlpool 3 times, and got no help, other then it was hooked up wrong. The issue I have is that the water heater’s pilot light puffs out when the furnace kicks on. These 2 items are common vented, in the installation guide. It does not say anything about common venting until page 11, and even then, it is not in bold or highlighted letters. Now the unit’s pilot light is going out without the furnace kicking on. Once again, I got no satisfaction from Whirlpool, other than it was hooked up wrong. I realize that I am the one who is ultimately responsible. Hopefully, they put something on the box, or earlier in the guide to warn novices, such as myself. As for Whirlpool, that will be the last product of theirs that I put in my home, and as soon as possible, I will be removing 3 other appliances during a kitchen remodel, and will replace them with a different brand.

This French Door refrigerator looked beautiful. There are only two of us in the home. We purchased it at the end of 2014 and it just keeps getting worse. The front of each shelving has cracked. They look like they are dried out plastic the way it cracks. The drawer tracks have seem to keep crumbling pieces off. This is not a cheap refrigerator by no means, this is the first time buying Whirlpool, and I believe the last time.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago and until last week it was fine. We got an error message that said we had to call for service so we called a local whirlpool repairman. The repair guy told us it was the control panel and it was going to cost between $400 to $500. He also said that he works on a lot of whirlpool washers and this is the first time he saw a machines control panel fail. He recommended that we call Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool customer service and after waiting on the phone for 40 minutes I was quickly transferred to customer resolution and was told that since I hadnt purchased the extended warranty there was nothing that they could do for me. I kept asking her, There is nothing that you can do to help me? And the consistent answer was no. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance. This has been so frustrating to have an appliance that looks brand new and wont work. The manufacturer wont even try to help with fixing the problem. Amazing AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Just like many other reviews about this brand - our microwave went bad after only 14 months of using it. Initially the door sensor would register - it wont operate even if the door is closed. Or it will keep going even if the door is open. I contacted BBB and the Whirlpool corporation regarding this safety issue. I pointed out that the safety mechanism is faulty and they should recall all of those models that have similar issue with door sensor. This is extremely dangerous for households with kids. There is a reason why this safety mechanism is mandatory in all microwaves! Whirlpool pointed out to me that I should not try to operate microwave with open door and refused to take any responsibility. Ive owned probably 10 different microwaves over the years and NEVER had micro go bad after only one year, yet alone have completely faulty safety mechanism. Consumer beware!

My $1800 French door refrigerator is only 20 months old and the ice maker has quit working. They sent out a repair person 5 times and replaced parts three of those times. Now they are saying it is unrepairable and are refunding my contract fee of $345 and leaving me with a broken ice maker. When the problem started it was making ice just not dumping it. Now it doesnt even get water. Throughout this all, two months, I have had to constantly call them to find out our next move. They say someone will call me in 2-3 days but they never do. One of The last people I talked to said, Well you can still keep food in it. I dont feel that is reasonable considering I bought a refrigerator with the ice maker in it. I finally called Whirlpool corporate instead of the service contract people to see if anything could be done and was told someone would call me back in 2-3 business days. Well its been a week and big surprise - have not heard from anyone. It is looking like we will have to purchase yet another refrigerator in less than two years. The service people I talked to were rude and really didnt seem to want to help at all. I believed when I purchased this Whirlpool product that they were a reputable company. Sorry to say that is not the case at all. I dont know if the refrigerator is really unrepairable or if they just gave up trying to find the issue. Seems hard to believe a basically new appliance cant be repaired.

Unfortunately, I can not rate this machine LESS than one star. I would rate it ZERO. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine model WTW7800XW0, 2 1/2 years ago in 2011. Since that time, we have had nothing but trouble from this machine. The machine basket gets off center when you have heavy items in there like jeans or a large load of towels and just stops working until you raise the lid and even out the clothing in the basket. If you wash something like a throw or a set of sheets in it, they get all twisted and wrapped around the thing in the center and end up in a big mound. We have had the glass top lid replaced on this machine TWO times over the last 2 years because the plastic frame on the lid around the glass cracked and broke and became warped in a raised position. This caused the machine to stop working because the machine will not wash clothing unless the door is locked down, and the door cant lock if the lid is cracked and warped and broken. So you have to set something heavy on top of the lid to get the lid to lock so you can wash a load of clothing! TWO times we have had repair people out to our home to replace the lid and now the lid is cracked and broken again, for the THIRD time! This is THREE broken lids in just over 2 years. Unacceptable!! The hinges on the lid that attach the lid to the machine are also rusted. This rusting has happened on all the lids that we have had replaced in the last 2 years. I will never, NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again, EVER. Their products are inferior quality and JUNK. We have the Whirlpool dryer also to match the junk washing machine and the quality is just as bad but we are living with it because we have no choice right now. It takes 2 hours to get a load of clothing dry and forget drying jeans or towels; it takes forever! Whirlpool makes a dreadful product and their customer service is even more dreadful. =(

Whirpool Cabrio Washer - Do not buy this washer. Clothes are not clean. They are twisted with residue still trapped in the wadded up mess. Even if you select deep water clean, your clothes will still have the same dirty marks on them as when they went in. Also, there is no spin cycle. If youve got a bunch of wet towels you just want to spin the water out, you can forget it. You will have to do a complete wash. And the 1 star is not even appropriate but there is no choice of a big fat zero. Wasted a lot of money on this when Ive had great luck with Kenmore.

We bought this refrigerator (Whirlpool Model # WRF9913F1FM00) last August 2016. From day 1, the water coming out from the water dispenser was not cold at all. Same temperature as the tap water. By November, the refrigerator started to get warm. Apparently, the evaporator fan motor had to be changed according to the technician who spent more than an hour on the phone with their technical advisor to diagnose the problem with the refrigerator. After a week, the refrigerator got fixed. Not only did the refrigerator started working again, even the water from the dispenser got finally cold, too. Now four months later, March 2016, the same problem: the fridge started to not get cold again. In addition to that, the ice would not come out from the ice dispenser and water from the water dispenser is not cold again. When my husband checked inside the door, the ice were all clumped together. They looked like they melted. And even the ice in the freezer bin looked the same. And on top of this, the refrigerator was making so much noise. The technician was just here again today.

I purchased Whirlpool Washer WTW4815EW on December 29, 2015 for my tenants apartment and by October 7, 2016 it was not working. I called Whirlpool for service since the product is under warranty. The closest appointment was more than 2 weeks out. On the appointment date the technician called me and said he was on his way to my house which is more than 30 miles from my tenants apartment. The technician said he could not service the tenant area as that was a different group, so we rescheduled for a week later. A week later no one shows up, so I rescheduled yet again for November 3rd and drove myself to wait for the service person who was supposed to be there between 8 am to 12 PM. At 11:40 I saw there was a 10:36 am Whirlpool attempt to call me but no message was left. When I called back they told me the technician called in sick and they called at 7:30 (my iPhone indicated 10:36 am). Now they say someone will come on Saturday November 5th. It will be one month on November 8th with no working washer. While it is bad enough the washer stopped working in less than one year their service support is even worse than the product.

We bought a house almost 10 years ago and it included a Maytag washer and dryer. About 5 years ago, we decided to buy the Whirlpool front loaders. What a mistake as the washer shook every time it ran. After several warranty service calls and days of vacation waiting for the service, they finally said they couldnt do anything. During that time I had been in contact with Whirlpool and asked for them to take them back. Of course they wouldnt. I asked for a swap for top load washer and they would need to also replace the dryer to match: still no deal. It took a letter from a lawyer to make it happen. They also bought back the washer and dryer stands which covered the lawyers costs. So shortly after I received the Cabrio washer and matching dryer, the lid is very heavy which I believe the lid spring broke. I refused to call the service company as I did not want to go thru that crap again. I also know I can fix it myself easier and without all the drama. I keep waiting for another failure but so far all is acceptable. Whirlpool is not the same company as they were when I made my living doing warranty service for Whirlpool! 30 years ago they were the best in the industry. The Maytag pair was giving to our relative and they are still working flawlessly. Unfortunately Whirlpool now owns Maytag. This experience has cost Whirlpool replacing our kitchen appliances. As much as I want to buy American, I will go with Bosch or LG only.

In the 5 years that I have owned it, I have not needed any kind of service to be done on it. Very reliable. I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The Microwave (model WMH32519CS-1) stopped heating in September 2015, service tech replaced the tube and capacitor. Microwave stopped heating again on Nov 16, 2015. Service tech notified again. Each time it takes 3+ days to get the service tech to look at the oven. This will be the 3rd Magnetron Tube in 6 months. This should not be happening. Contacted Whirlpool direct, asked if we could get the entire oven replaced with a new one. I was informed that this was not a company policy. It was a real waste of time talking to customer service. We purchase the Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher GU2400XTPB7 with our new home. This dishwasher has a plastic tub. For some unknown reason the dishwasher started to leak, I checked every hose connection and could not find the leak until I noticed four small burn marks in the plastic tub underneath the heating element. It actually looks like someone took a cigarette to the plastic. One of the burns went through the plastic tub, and this is where the leak is. Note: at no time did any of our dishes touch the heating element.I called Whirlpool customer service and they said they would send a technician out for $81 and in addition I would be charged $19 for every 15 minutes of service. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and he recommended that a technician come to my house at my expense and all the supervisor could say was that he was sorry, which became even more frustrating. No remuneration was offered. I have had other issues with our Whirlpool washing machine (holes in clothes), gas range stove (ignitron issues), and fridge. l will never purchase any Whirlpool product again including Jenn-Air. I made this quite clear to the supervisor. Whirlpools products and customer service are inferior based on my experience with our four appliances. I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year late
I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year later. It was making really loud noises and the fridge part wasnt working. All the food was warm. Of course there is no warranty on it after one year. I called a repairman and he said that the doors dont seal properly so the warm air is getting in causing condensation which freezes the engine/fan which is the cause of the loud noise. The reason why the upper fridge is warm is because the fan pushes the cold air up from the freezer, which of course wasnt working. Then I noticed that the frame at the bottom of the fridge is bending causing the freezer not to seal properly which would be the reason for warm air getting inside the fridge.

In 2009 I bought 2 (yes 2) machines (one was for our daughter). I also took out 5 year warranties on both (good job I did). Within the first month on our machine the paddles flew off and after a bit of a debate with the insurers we had another machine (same model). Within a short period from date of purchase both machines had a number of faults - circuit boards, weights that came loose! and bearings going. There are other bits but too extensive to list. To be fair to the insurers they were no trouble (it really is the inconvenience of being without a washer and having to schedule time to get it sorted out). I will never ever buy a Whirlpool as all of these (3 in total) have been a nightmare and ours is sounding noisy again (it only had a new drum 12 months ago for bearings - yes you need a new drum for that £200 in all!!) so I am really glad that we have the insurance. When that runs out and the machine is dead (whichever comes first) I think we will will be buying either a Beko or a Samsung that are getting really high ratings. Anyone reading this might wonder why did we buy these in the first place. Well a colleague of mine at work had one and said it was fantastic (she had children so used hers a lot) hence me buying them (and they were not cheap by any means, so thought we were getting a cracking pair of machines....cracking, yes they might as well be as a chocolate fireguard has more reliability...WARNING DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE - IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR SANITY! The machine is two years old. It cost over $1,000 to buy. From the beginning, we have had mold issues with the machine. The entire house fills with the smell of rotten eggs every time we use it. The machine is used daily so it doesnt sit for long periods. Despite all the complaints online about their machines, Whirlpool refused to acknowledge that there is a design problem with the machine. They refused to make any repairs or buy the machine back and their only suggestion was to buy more chemicals from them to use to clean the machine. We have done this in the past to no avail. Oh, they did offer to send out a service company but on my dime. Whirlpool needs to be sued and I only wish that someone would start a class action suit against them. It really stinks when you try and do the right thing and buy American only to have the company not give a crap about their customers or the fact that their product is garbage. About 10 years ago, I had a Maytag front loader washing machine with the same problem. Maytag bought the machine back on a pro-rated basis, no problem, no question. Of course, Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool. Too bad they didnt adopt Maytags customer service policy. I cant wait for them to go out of business - something they deserve.

Favorite feature is the double oven. Both ovens are separate self cleaning. Top oven smaller, perfect for a pizza, cookies, small stuff. Great features for entertains, multiple foods can bake at same time. Ceramic top easy to clean, boil overs cannot seep under anything. I have had this oven for over 10 yrs, minimal repairs.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Set from a local store. Just over a year later, the washer got very loud like a jet engine. Called the registered repairman, he came out took a look and said he would get back to me. Called him 3 times over 3 weeks, no show (Hoodland Appliance). Called someone else, repaired it for $400.00. Called Whirlpool, they are not interested. 2 years later now and the machine is getting loud again. This is due to the spin throws water up and it is able to get out of the tub and down into the barring and the soap residue wears the barring out. Bad design. Called Whirlpool again and again they are not interested but can put me in touch with a repairman. I will not repair again but will use until dies and buy something else not related to Whirlpool. So much for energy efficiency.

I paid about $400 for this dishwasher and the regular price was over $600. Got a good deal. It washed dishes wonderfully. All I had to do was scrape the chunks off. It cleaned the rest. BUT... at a certain point, it started NOT cleaning. It was only about 6-7 months old. It was to the point where everything just came out kind of slimy and food grit was re-deposited on the dishes. I cleaned both filters. I made sure there was enough Rinse-Aid all the time. I ran hot water in the sink before starting to make sure the temp was hot enough. My husband went online and someone had instructions about cleaning the water intake because it could sometimes have sediment buildup. Not a difficult process, but there was no gunk in the intake filter. When I listened to a load it seemed like it drained, (most start with that), paused, rinsed for a couple minutes, paused, drained, paused and refilled for the wash cycle. So the pump worked, the arms went round and sprayed. Nothing was in the way of the arms. After it started the wash cycle, it seemed to just stall. It would spray for about a minute and then stop. Im not sure it sprayed after that. The timer kept counting down. It said dishes were clean, but it was an absolute waste of time. I was ready to go buy a cheap dishwasher and throw this one in the dumpster. I think it is a 720 padm??Just after my husband checked the water intake filter, we started another cycle. When it was rinsing, he opened it up and everything seemed to be working ok. It drained, then filled and started the washing cycle and then stopped. He opened it back up and surprise, the water was full on the front level by the float (that turns the water filling off). But in the back of the dishwasher, there was only about an 8th of an inch of water. Online it said the water should fill to just about the top of the heating element. It WASNT. Problem? It wasnt LEVEL. The instructions when installing said it should be leveled. We did when installing it (when it worked great). But looking back, we put in a new hardwood floor about the time it stopped working ok and we didnt put 2 and 2 together. We did not re-level. When we pushed the dishwasher back into its built in cabinet, it must have gotten OUT of level. The rinse part worked I guess. Then it drained and re-filled. After re-leveling the dishwasher, we opened the door at that point. The water was a level depth front to back and side to side. My husband explained what he thought had been the problem to me. When the wash cycle starts it fills, the float shuts off the water at the appropriate level. THEN... the dishwasher starts to pump and fill the arms and the tube up the back that feeds the upper washing arm. So much water goes into the arms and up that tube, the dishwasher looked almost empty of water again. As the dishwasher was now level, it began adding water to compensate for the arm/tube filling. Before the float would shut off too soon because the front part of the tub was full but the back wasnt. Without enough water, the dishes were NEVER going to/COULDNT get clean. The re-leveling made sure that the float didnt turn off the water filling until there was much more water, the CORRECT amount. The next load cycled all the way through, spraying much more than Id heard before and the dishes were clean. P.S. I also got some dishwasher cleaner and used that on a couple empty cycles. I NOW LOVE this dishwasher again. FYI If my husband wasnt handy Id have junked this thing. We HAD leveled the dishwasher when we installed it. Just didnt realize it COULD get un-level just pulling it in and out of the cabinet to install new floors. Check out all the troubleshooting stuff in the manual. But if it doesnt help, put a level inside across the bottom rack, front to back and side to side and make sure the bubble is in the middle of the two lines. The previous dishwasher I had, just made like a fountain of water that went up the middle of the dishwasher into a sort of funnel filling the upper arm. THIS one has that tube up the back and it curls down under the filter and Im guessing it is more sensitive to being OFF LEVEL, because the tube doesnt go straight down, it curls and lays across the bottom of the tub. Without being level, there was never enough water to suck up that tube to start the the actual wash cycle and it just stalled there till the timer said clean at the end. IE: dishes never did wash. BUT IT DOES NOW! Woohooooo!

We purchased the Induction Range Whirlpool Model WF1910H0AS0 almost 2 years
We purchased the Induction Range Whirlpool Model WF1910H0AS0 almost 2 years ago and bought the extended warranty that was offered by A.J. Madison. We started having problems about 8 months after the purchase. We have had technicians out numerous times and they couldnt solve the problem of the cooktop part of the range locking and beeping when we use the oven. I have made several calls to Whirlpool and basically was told too bad. I see that there have been several complaints with the product and they have stopped making it. On one repair visit we were told that they were replacing a particular part because they were having so many problems with the heat blocker that goes under the glass top that they made it thicker and were hoping that this would solve the problem. It did not.The thing that really has sent me over the edge is that last night I was just boiling water and I heard a pop that came along with a smell (electrical burning smell) and the range blew a fuse and now the cooktop part just shows the deadly error F47. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool and their customer service and too bad attitude. You would think when you are spend almost $1800 for a range that it would not have problems so quickly and pretty much render useless in less than 2 years. Also shame on A.J. Madison for selling extended warranties through a company that has such a bad ratings with the Better Business Bureau. The only reason I gave 1 star is because you cant have no star.

Have had mine for 21 years. Okay, the soap dispenser door would not stay shut after about 19 years. No real problem, just placed the dishwasher tablet on the bottom of a mug on top shelf. Now the timer sticks and has to be rotated manually. I think after 21 years, it is time to replace it with another Whirlpool. This one owes me nothing for 21 years service.

We purchased our washer approximately six months ago. It is an energy-efficient top loader without a central agitator. If I wanted a washer just for lingerie then I would be satisfied. But I need a washer that will clean farm clothes. My husband works hard and his clothes show it. This washer does not clean them. I even tried putting very few items in at a time. They still arent clean. I have to take my heavily soiled laundry to the laundromat. My other main complaint is the baffling feature of a lock mode. I spend countless minutes standing by my washer waiting for it to unlock so I can toss in an extra item or add fabric softener, etc. When we removed the latch, the washer didnt work at all. Replaced the item at a cost of $40. Infuriating!

Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband
Our 2005 whirlpool duet washer steel drum and plastic tub broke. My husband diagnosed the problem and opted to fix it to save money. The parts are under warranty but you still pay labor and technician visit running up to $250-$300. The plastic tub was obtained only if we paid for it $100 and the steel drum they sent under warranty. The plastic tub has a hole with a black plug and sensor in it. There is a discrepancy in the measurement of the old tub and new tubs hole that is slightly larger, therefore when installed a steady stream of water leaks out. I now have 3 plastic tubs as that was their solution, to send more of the same that did not measure correctly. An investigation was done to determine they were the correct parts. As asked we had a whirlpool technician come to verify parts were correct and being installed correctly and the parts sent would not fix the machine due to the hole discrepancy. Many calls were made to whirlpool and they continue to give me the runaround. They now are not taking their technicians information. The technician has given the information to 3 sales reps in the new england area and made several phone calls to whirlpool and no one is willing to give us a solution.

We purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator in December 2016. About 3 months later the back panel was frozen preventing it to cool. We unplugged it and called customer service. They sent out a repairman, but by then it had thawed out. He told me he couldnt fix what he couldnt see, but he didnt even check it out. Two months later it did the same thing. Then he said I must have left the door open. He made me look stupid. During that year he came out 4 times until he finally changed all parts. We kept telling customer service we wanted a new one. After going back and forth with them they finally are reimbursing us, but they charged us $300.00 because we didnt want another Whirlpool product... now we found out they have the worst ratings and we certainly had a very bad experience not to mention all the food I had to throw out because of it. They did not care at all. So please do not purchase any Whirlpool products. I would not recommend that product to anyone.

Oven igniter has went out for the third time, 1 broke knob on stove. Dishwasher leaves dishes wet after cycle. Fridge handle fell off, crisper drawer rail broke off, and a door shelf is cracked. I am a veteran and unemployed. What happens when warranty expires and all my CRAP whirlpool breaks a week later? Also was told warranty doesnt cover the crisper drawer. They didnt tell me that when I purchased at Spencers on 75th ave and Bell road. Salesman at Spencers, Dan ** told us everything is covered. Im not a happy customer or VETERAN!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot in Nov, 2013. Model is WRF560SEYWOO with water in the door and bottom freezer with ice compartment. This is a very small refrigerator for my very small space. I swear these companies program their appliances to break down exactly 1 month after the warranty is up. Thats what happened to me. Dec 2014 this horrible loud humming noise started. You could hear it out on the sidewalk! Then the door with the water just detached from the bottom and screws and plastic pieces fell out all over the floor. The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued! This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. Next we MacGyvered the door so that it is resting on the freezer door. Next, he brought in some tape and taped all the pieces of rubber falling off my doors!! This frigging frig cost me $1,653.00!! I AM FURIOUS. Why isnt Con. AFFAIRS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer from a local appliance center. Everything was working great. After some time, the washer began to have error codes. I would have to turn it off and restart using more detergent, more water and more electricity to attempt to get a load washed. I did purchase an extended warranty. I reported the issue to Whirlpool and I have had 7 home repair visits while still under Whirlpools warranty. The first time, the repair tech went under the washer and tightened a screw. REALLY! The next visit, the motherboard was changed and the issues kept coming back. Well, the Whirlpool warranty was now over so the extended warranty had to be picked up from the appliance center. Things got worse and had continued repair calls. After I had enough, I called Whirlpool and spoke to everyone under the sun. I tossed it outside and bought another brand washer. Several weeks went by and this washer still under the shed, Whirlpool contacted me and bought back my washer, GREAT.Now, here it starts all over again with the dryer, same issues with motherboard. Only this time, I am 1 month out of Whirlpool warranty and need $385 for a new motherboard plus cost to replace. I call Whirlpool again but only this time, they show no issues with this dryer and are not budging. I toss it out and again, purchase another brand dryer. I grew more angry by the day looking at this dryer sitting useless outside. I had it hauled off as trash. My question is how does a consumer protect themselves against these manufacturers? I do understand warranties but if it smells like a lemon, acts like a lemon, it must be a lemon!

In 2008, I purchased the 40-gal. Whirlpool electric water heater to replace the original unit in my home that had lasted 14 years without issue until it died of old age. After about 2 1/5 years, it died and I was given authorization to return it to Lowes at my insistence. Now after another 2 1/5 years, this one has died. So far, I have replaced both elements, lost a days work, missed out on a date because I could not take a shower and now Im told I have to replace the electrical box on top which wont get here until Monday. Its Saturday and I havent been able to take a shower in my home for 5 days now.The first CSR (Crystal) I spoke with implied that since I had 2 consecutive failures, this was a site problem, not a product problem. Theres nothing special about my site, and my old unit made it 14 years with zero repairs. I would argue that since both of the units only lasted 2 1/5 years, that the product is substandard. I asked to speak to a manager but was told no because they were all busy (no doubt) and her demeanor was unapologetic and unsympathetic. The second CSR (Nick) I spoke with was very nice and at least sympathetic. That goes a long way in customer service, but I was still not allowed to speak with a manager.I am going to try and repair it one more time, but I have zero confidence in Whirlpool and would never buy another Whirlpool product of any sort again. If I get it working, and after all Ive read here I doubt that I will, I will only be using it for the time it takes to get a replacement of another brand. This was my first experience with a Whirlpool product and you can be sure it will absolutely be my last.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer on June 28, 2011. Within 4 months, I had to call for a repair. It is now going to be a year and I am on my seventh repair call. The repairs have been everything from loose pulleys, new belts, and new valves. When I called to complain, they said there is nothing they could do and I should take out the extended warranty. I have had washing machines last up to 15 years. Needless to say, they werent Whirlpools. I really would like to have it replaced. I dont think its fair to me that I should have to wait for a repairman to come out and tell me he doesnt have the part and has to come back. Re: wdf7payw6. I purchased this unit last February. It has never washed properly. In the last month 2 separate warranty service reps have been out. The first one told me that I have not been doing a good enough job of prewashing the dishes so the arms were clogged. While cleaning them, he broke the top arm. When he came back to replace the top arm, he added that the dishes were not drying because I didnt use enough jet dry so I would have to dry by hand, and that the arms were clogging because I didnt prewash well enough. I told him to leave and never come back. I called customer service and they sent out a new company. The rep today told me that even on time delay or overnight settings I must run the hot water prior to starting the unit. And that since the water wasnt hot enough; the undissolved detergent was clogging the spray arms. This was confirmed by your phone support person who told me that for best results thats what I had to do. The result I want is for the thing to wash dishes. It doesnt do that. The current rep ordered a heater, motor pump and spray arms. My previous dishwasher operated perfectly (until the pump failed) for the 18 years I have lived in this house plus however long it was here before I moved in. I will never buy a Whirlpool product or anything built by subsidiaries or parent AGAIN.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine a year and a half ago. It started making loud noises over time and finally stopped. Whirlpool did advise us that it was out of warranty but suggested they send a factory repairperson out. They told us depending on the problem they might pay the bill. It turned out that a nut holding the pulley had not been tightened up properly at the factory and had no restraining device, so it simply rattled off over time. Since we dont use the machine that much, the problem went past the 1-year warranty. It cost us two hundred and fourteen dollars for repairs. I could have put the nut back on myself for free. The service guy also said they had multiple similar problems and I should contact Whirlpool and they would probably work with me. No chance. They only kept repeating that it was out of warranty. I even talked with a supervisor who said the same thing. I asked to appeal further and she refused to give me anyone else I could contact. I asked for their legal department information, and she said she did not have that and I would have to get that through my attorney. What a joke. No more Whirlpool for me.

I first want to begin by saying that we have been a Whirlpool family for years. I now own a Whirlpool microwave, hot water heater, washer/dryer, Jenn-Air stove and dishwasher. My problem now is with the Cabrio Washer purchased in 2008. I started having problems in 2011 and the same problem has raised its ugly head again. When I try to use the Clean cycle, it starts at a 60-minute cycle and goes down to a 2-minute cycle in 3 minutes without cleaning or even running water into the tub. This time, it made a terrible noise and stopped. The tub was replaced in July 2011 after having the same complaint as above. The repairman said that the mechanism on the tub to fit into the spinning cycle is made of plastic and is not holding up. Also, in March 2012, a new control board was installed. I spoke to Whirlpool Customer Service and they informed me that they did not have any other complaints about the Clean cycle and that I should call the repairman. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty. I vote a thumbs down on the Cabrio washer.
