I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator about 1 1/2 years ago. Mechanically it works fine, but many places on the outside are showing small rust, circular rust spots. Looks like the refrigerator has the measles. I dont think ordinary paint will cure the problem since it looks like the rust is coming through from the inside of the door. Any ideas as to what will cure the appearance and keep the rust hidden????

The Whirlpool washing machine I bought is a piece of crap! I only do laundry every 3 weeks/3 loads and the machine broke in 13 months. Now it has broken a fourth time/same part - I have had the machine for 5 years and they can not do anything about it. I will not be buying Whirlpool again - of any kind.

The drip hose had to be replaced 6 months after I purchased the refrigerator. At that time the warranty covered the part but the technician told me that Whirlpool was aware of the problem. About 5 months after the warranty expired, the same problem again - ice built up on bottom of freezer and water leaking out from the left side leaving a puddle on the floor. I called Whirlpool and they said warranty is expired. I tried to tell them about the defective part but to no avail. Had to pay to have drip hose replaced again. One year after that the main CPU board went and had to be replaced ($350.00). I sent the part back to Whirlpool, registered mail, hoping they would respond with a yes, this was defective. Their response back to me was, “warranty is over.” For a main board to fail in a $1500.00 refrigerator in less than 3 years was uncalled for. Two days ago I noticed the puddle on the floor and had to call in a technician and ONCE again the drip hose had to be replaced ($160.0). He told me Whirlpool is well aware of the problem and there is a Service Pointer out on it and the code is S38211. Thanks for nothing Whirlpool. The refrigerator was a lemon and you did nothing about it. I wish I would have read these reviews first. No more Whirlpool products for me! PS. I was a dedicated fan of Whirlpool for 40 years!

March 18, 2018. I was called today to inform me that the right front burner on my new stove Model # WEG745H0FS0 (ordered in early September and not delivered until mid-October from Menards) was not operating properly. The flame was noisy and yellow. I inspected it and found that the front burner base was substantially damaged by heat. See photo (Whirlpool stove part damage1). On inspection of the other front burner base, I discovered early signs of the same problem. (Note changes on burner base on the left of the photo.)In this photo (Whirlpool stove part damage2.JPG), you can see the damage to the burner base and also see some changes on the 3 to 5 O’clock position on the burner base on the left of the photo. This stove is less than 6 months old. The fact that the burner parts can be melted indicate poor design and danger to the owner/operator of the stove. Further, the operators manual for the stove I bought does not include any information on the model I have. It has pictures of the range top similar to mine but the model number is completely different. In addition to this, the Aqua-Lift Technology for cleaning the oven is completely ineffective. This is noted in several other reviews of this equipment. The problem noted by the other review became obvious the very first day I tried to use this range. A 2 cup pot spilled all over the cooktop as soon as I put it on the grate.

The oven works well. My complaint is that the glass door is very difficult to clean. Some kind of liquid got in between the panels and I cannot clean the glass without removing the oven door. Im afraid to remove the door as I may not be able to get it back on the oven. I have dirty glass I cant clean and that makes me unhappy. Otherwise the oven works just fine.

I will be brief. Bought Whirlpool ref. model #WRF560Smywo4 on April 15, 2016. The refrigerator quit work July 29, 2016. Called Whirlpool. They responded they had no repairman in our area. After several calls they scheduled a repairman. He came and put on a part. It did not work. Called Whirlpool again. They sent the same repairman. He stated it needed a new compressor. A week later he arrived with the part (August 12, 2016). As of now the refrigerator is working. Now this was two (2) weeks without a refrigerator. This has been a bad experience. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL APPLIANCE AND RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT PURCHASE ONE.

I purchased my Whirlpool Double-Oven one year ago and couldnt wait to use my new oven. I was told it was so efficient because I could use the top oven for quick baking instead of heating the entire oven (plus I could set it at different temperature settings). About a month in, I cooked 2 pizzas side by side. The first one burnt to a crisp and the one right beside it was doughy on top and burnt on the bottom. Not thinking, I blamed the pizzas! I also blamed myself, thinking it was me not being used to the stove.A few weeks later, I baked cupcakes. About 15 minutes in, I smelled burning and the cupcakes were raw on top and burnt black on the bottom. I called Whirlpool and they sent a technician out and he replaced the circuit board/clock. Worked for a couple of weeks and then the burning began again. Called Whirlpool again - another technician came out and adjusted the temperature. Here I am again, had to call Whirlpool again. This stove has been so inconsistent and Im so tired of wasting food because of this stove. My 4-year old Whirlpool dryer also went out last week so needless to say, Im not very fond of Whirlpool right now! If you are planning on buying a Whirlpool product, buyer beware and I hope you have a lot of patience...

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator in April. The motor ran constantly. The company replaced it for me but it was back ordered until July. The one delivered in July kept freezing the items in my refrigerator. I had two service people come out to replace parts in the next couple of months. The entire time having to throw out frozen food. Finally, they had another one delivered in November. This one continues to freeze food in the refrigerator. Mind you, I just got it and they want to start again with service. Seems others are having the same issues. My 4 month old gas oven is also not broiling. Customer service is awful. Every time I call the wait time is over an hour and then they don’t really help. I would not recommended Whirlpool to anyone.

Cabrio washer - What a piece of junk! My washer is 2 years old, it now does its own thing - stopping when it wants, doesnt finish cycle, beeps finished and the clothes are so wet and the washer is not emptied. Then, I put it on drain and spin. One time, it kept going for almost an hour of off and on. My clothes were so out of shape and that was on low spin. I finally took them out and put them outside. The clothes from day one have always come out so wrinkled and that too is on low spin. Im afraid to use high spin. I know you have to for towels, but it still does not drain. It shuts off and on when it feels like it. My first contact with Whirlpool was, Well, did you buy the extended warranty? I hate it when asked that when purchasing any product. Its like saying, This is a piece of crap. Im warning you now so buy the extended. So right there, I felt Whirlpool isnt willing to help. What else can we all do here? Please advise.

We are now over a month without a working fridge/freezer because of the lack of Whirlpool care. Our brand new Whirlpool fridge stopped working after 3 days. That was nearly a month ago. I have wasted hours on the phone with rude reps from both Home Depot and Whirlpool. A new one with multiple dents was attempted to be delivered today which I wouldnt sign for knowing Id be stuck with it. Now we have to wait 2 weeks for another one. A $100 compensation doesnt nearly cover our food loss let alone a family of 4 living without a functioning fridge and freezer. I will never purchase Whirlpool again!

We had our microwave and stove delivered in October, 2015. We had 4 deliveries of the microwave. The first two were damaged, the third needed a new fan motor and the door was not straight. They wanted to send parts to fix but we could not see spending all that money for a brand new microwave to have parts put in. I complained a lot to both Whirlpool who would not replace it and ABC Warehouse who finally agreed to replace it with a brand new one. The 4th is good. (so far). Our stove has a flaw in the glass top, the drawer doesnt close properly, and there is a piece of metal sticking out from the lower right side of the oven door. ABC says they cannot do anything about it and Whirlpool says it is under a parts warranty so it has to be repaired. I even spoke to supervisor Kimberly at Whirlpool. Got same answer. We are very angry and disappointed. As I told the Kimberly, Whirlpool got every penny they asked for. We paid for brand new in perfect condition and got a stove that needs fixing. We will never recommend Whirlpool as a Company for appliances and based on all the negative reviews Ive read, neither will a lot of other people.

I bought a French door Whirlpool refrigerator. It is very pretty. But you always got to double-check to make sure the freezer door is closed. Almost all my house guests leave it slightly cracked because it does not close conveniently like other refrigerators. Water freezes up all over the freezer. It even freezes the fan inside to where it starts making loud noises. I got a chip ice out of this freezer almost every day. I even had to defrost it completely to get the fans to start working properly.

I rent a condo unit and hardly use the microwave. It is nice to have. Never had one over the stove and it came with the unit, so I gave mine away. After living here for 3 years I am now moving to another city 5 hours away. I noticed the other day when I went to melt butter for popcorn, the door crack, which I noticed the second year we lived here, has gotten worse. Not just worse, but the handle looks like one pull and its completely broken. My landlord expects us to pay for this. I am reading and I see that its from the heat from the stove, which is also a Whirlpool product, is to blame, not the user. How is this right, how is this fair?? When we move we will have to buy a new microwave, that will sit once again on my beautiful microwave cabinet and I promise, it WILL NOT be a Whirlpool!!!

I came here to see if others have had problems with their Whirlpool Cabrio
I came here to see if others have had problems with their Whirlpool Cabrio top load washers. I was amazed at how many others forked over nearly a grand ($1000 with tax and extended warranty) for such a heap of nothing. I have lived in the same house for over 35 years, same water supply with water softener. Over this time, I have raised my family and been lucky enough to only go through two washers until 2 years ago when I purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio machine at Lowes. As with others, clothes do not get cleaned. Residue is present and in the creases of the tightly spun and tangled load. After calling Whirlpool and Lowes on nearly day one of my original purchase, no concern was given. Instead, I received the What type of detergent or Could it be your water supply? or What degree of soil does your family have on their garments? A white terry cloth washcloth should not come out grey, even after bleach! My GE and Maytags of the past always did fantastic jobs. They just plain old wore out. As for my new energy efficient machine that takes 86 minutes to wash a load, with expensive HE detergent, an oxy clean pouch, special fabric softeners, I scratch my head wondering how can this be efficient? If a pair of jeans needs pre-soaking, it cant be done in this washer. Instead, I spray the jeans with pre-soak, add my HE products, then fill a mop bucket full of water and dump into the machine 5 minutes after the 86-minute session has started. What a joke! For two years plus, I have vented to my poor husband who thought he was buying me a new innovative state of the art machine to make my life easier. I only wish there was somewhere or someone that I could contact to get some satisfaction for my agony with this poor quality product! Yes, I am venting. I dont have another thousand dollars to spend for a new machine. Believe me, if there were to be a class action lawsuit for this lemon, I would be first to sign up!

On 2-26-13 I received my new Whirlpool Refrigerator, Model WRF989SDAE, KSN 4191832, 28.6 cu ft, french door for a price of $2500.00. November 2014, refrigerator stopped working. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. Appears to be related to the initial issue. I cannot trust this refrigerator and would highly advise everyone not to purchase a Whirlpool refrigerator. Refrigerator needs to be replaced, not repaired.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer on June 28, 2011. Within 4 months, I had to call for a repair. It is now going to be a year and I am on my seventh repair call. The repairs have been everything from loose pulleys, new belts, and new valves. When I called to complain, they said there is nothing they could do and I should take out the extended warranty. I have had washing machines last up to 15 years. Needless to say, they werent Whirlpools. I really would like to have it replaced. I dont think its fair to me that I should have to wait for a repairman to come out and tell me he doesnt have the part and has to come back. I did take out the extended warranty, which cost approximately $150.00 and that should not have to be.

I purchased a new Whirlpool range and had it fitted for propane. I used the stove daily and within two weeks, the temperature started fluctuated constantly. Several things I tried to cook ended up burned. I called Whirlpool to ask them for a possible solution. They wanted to send a repair person. I live on an island and knew it would take forever to get someone here. My appliance person said it could be only two things - the temperature probe or the computer board. I purchased both things and had them shipped to my address at my expense. It cost $257.00 to get the items. My appliance man on the island installed the two new items. I was hoping that would fix the problem. I am sad to say it did not! The oven still fluctuates wildly. I set the temp for 350 degrees and it shoots up to 450 degrees. I turn the temp down to 325 and it settles in at 350 for a period of time. Then, without any warning, it will shoot back up to 500 degrees. I have to open the door and let the temp back down to 350. This is how I have to bake and cook with this disaster. Wish I never purchased a Whirlpool appliance!

The company has lied to me telling me that it will just be one more service call each and every time.I want my refrigerator exchanged for a new one. They are refusing to do so until each service call is completed. I think they sold me a lemon based on the fact that nobody seems to be able to fix the issue. We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator new. When the first one was delivered it had electronic problems. We sent that one back. The next one, same model, seemed to be alright for a few days then it developed electronic problems. My son discovered the problem was caused by a faulty door panel in the freezer. The panel would come loose and if you knocked it back in place the electronics would work until the panel came loose again. Whirlpool would do nothing about our complaint. Now the refrigerator section freezes things. We paid to have it fixed 2 months ago and now have the problem again. The repairman said he had brought up concerns in meetings about the same door problems and been blown off. Our food is freezing in the refrigerator again and Whirlpool has blown us off again. We will never buy Whirlpool again. I trusted Consumers Report when I bought the Whirlpool and that goes to show you that doesnt always work either.

We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer (WTW6400SW2) and a Cabrio dryer (WGD6200SW1) in 2007. From day one the washer has tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and sputters the detergent and bleach unevenly. The fabric softener dispenser clogs up too, rendering it useless. The knotting of the clothes leaves them so tightly wrinkled they come out of the dryer very wrinkled. The water level, determined by the washers self-sensor that weighs each load, does not fully submerge the clothes. The manual says this is normal operation for this model and that it will not affect the cleaning process. Wrong. The small agitator is insufficient to clean the clothes but does a wonderful job of twisting them in long, tight knots. I want to kick myself every time I walk past the washer for paying so much money for such a poorly designed washer. I was very sick when they were first delivered and wasnt able to do much laundry. By the time I was well enough to do more with it, I noticed the clothes werent getting clean and were actually being damaged by the washers process thanks to uneven detergent distribution/spotting from the clothes sitting above the water level, and being poorly agitated and rinsed. Before I knew it, my warranty had expired. It was a very hectic year. Ive been very sick. We purchased it from Lowe’s. I had their techs out a time or two to check it in the beginning, but they always smoothed it over with some waffy, generic explanation. Eventually, I was past my 30-day trial period. I was on my own with Whirlpool, whod refer me to the manual and make me feel like I just had to get used to the new technology of the self-sensoring washer. Ive read that Whirlpool is aware of this issue and doing nothing. Ive read other complaints that describe the same problems I have and its obvious this is a design flaw. I appreciate these posts because I least I dont feel like Im insane anymore. No, just horribly ripped off by Whirlpool.

I would like to send this junk to the junkyard, but I spent a lot to get the dryer with steam that went with the washer. This experience has soured me on Whirlpool appliances, and now I learn they also make appliances for Maytag!

I had bought from S C Shah & Co, Mylapore a Whirlpool ac 1 ton split magicool dlx cop in March 2016 and installed in March 29 2016 by Cool Control System, kodambakkam From the installation period we had a cooling issue and informed Shah & Co, Mylapore where we bought the ac. They came and checked and informed Whirlpool customer care. Within two months i.e. in May 2016 of installation Whirlpool again uploaded/charged the gas (the service engineers told us this is due to hot summer). Though again we had a cooling issue, we were under the impression as this is due to summer as explained by the technician. After that rainy season came and we didnt use the ac.As we are in December when we complained Whirlpool they said this is due to the copper wire gas is leaking and it has to be replaced and informed that though under WARRANTY, the customer has to pay for replacement (we have used only the 3 mtr copper wire which came with the ac only. we have not used any our own copper wire). Whether WHIRLPOOL GIVES SUCH A QUALITY COPPER WIRE which has to be replaced within 9 months. Now they are informing that you are calling us after 6 months of gas charging, so we cannot service. If you could have called within 3 months we could have serviced you. BUT WE ARE UNDER WARRANTY. NOT EVEN AN YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.Not responding to calls, disconnecting to the calls even if we call their Delhi number 011-49308500. Though under warranty they are not ready to do service and very rude saying, we cant do anything. So, if we buy WHIRLPOOL ac we have to beg them even for their technicians to visit our place. Or we have to do our own service EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. Their local toll free customer care numbers/service executives always give a recorded message saying they cannot service. SUCH A PATHETIC SERVICE.

We purchased a 50 gallon water heater in 2005. In 2008, the thermocoupling unit went out and Whirlpool sent us the replacement part and we had a plumper install the piece (at our expense, of course). Now, we are running into the exact same problem 3 years later with the pilot light not staying lit. We had a plumber come out this weekend and replace the part but unfortunately this time, its not fixing the problem. The plumber charged us $178. He said that he can replace the thermostat on the water heater but that would cost us close to $400 to replace and makes no sense to do since purchasing a new one wouldnt be much more than that. I am so frustrated with this water heater; I just want to throw it out in the middle of the street! We still have 3 years left on our warranty too. I have 2 very young daughters who need to take baths, and who also dirty up quite a bit of clothes that need to be washed in warm water. What a nightmare! Whirlpool, help us!

I count myself as lucky... my Whirlpool 465 Accubake Ceramic Cooktop stove was given to me. I have used it for 3 years. One day, out of the blue, the oven, which was in use, started clanging loud and jumping up and down. I started screaming & tried to cut it off & it would not go off. I ran to the panel box & threw the breaker. It also burned my food that was cooking. It did it several times. Then I decided to not cut the light on or touch the button to raise the temp. It has not done it since. I bake everything on 350 degrees and immediately throw the breaker. I am scared of this stove and plan to replace it. I will NOT buy a Whirlpool, anything. I purchased a gold series whirlpool dishwasher on July 20th 2014. Today is Dec 31, 2015, for the past month I have been troubleshooting my dishwasher by myself. Because I had a maintenance man here already since I bought the dishwasher and due to Christmas cannot afford another 250 for another visit. Every time I try to wash, at end of any cycle I have tried using, I open the door and find the cascade soap sitting on the bottom of the tub, the dishes still wet and dirty. So I take them all out and hand wash them, I should not have to do this on a washer that is a little over one year old considering the price tag that I paid for it. I am not young anymore and if I wanted to hand wash dishes, I could have used that money for a nice vacation somewhere. The washer stops, start button blinking, I open it up, check it out to make sure everything looks ok, close it and restart again. It sounds like it is working, so I go about my business and come back an hour later to find the same issue. Dishes will not wash soap on the bottom of the tub again. This has been nothing but trouble since I purchased it. I have never had a problem with my old dishwasher until it got too old. On top of it all, I had to buy another clothes washer from the same manufacturer that now took over. This was only 5 years old and the motor burnt out. I had two maintenance men here from the Maytag/whirlpool company and they filled me in. So I had it hauled out of here and I bought an LG for another good price. It seems to me that it is all about money and they make nothing but crap. Now. I need to make another decision. About this POS dishwasher! What to do?

My husband and I purchased our Whirlpool Gold French Door Fridge-Freezer on bottom in January 2012. Water collects in the bottom of the freezer and creates thick sheets of ice. When the bottom of the freezer is a full sheet of ice, the water just drips onto the floor. I come home from work to a river of water that stretches across the kitchen--and now my linoleum floor is warping from the water. This started only 6 months after we bought the refrigerator. Im sure the warranty is out--what can I do?

A few years passed but I never used oven. Pandemic changed that. When I tried Aqualift. Did it 3 times in a row but nothing was clean. Called Whirlpool & they offered to send me a paste I could rub in & rinse off. THATS NOT SELF CLEANING. ITS MYSELF CLEANING plus cancer in abdomen so difficult for me to do. Class action suit is being filed again but not sure if it will be for 1 state. Many complaints on Whirlpool & other companies using aqualift.

My water heater was installed in 2007 (model BFG2J5040T3NOV). It has required 3 repairs in 4 years because part failures make the pilot light shut off. The gas controller was replaced in 2008. The manifold/burner assembly was replaced in 2010. This month (August 2011), I have replaced the thermocouple, which did not fix the problem. Now I am having to replace the gas controller again. The part is failing, but not completely inoperable, so occasionally when on the phone with customer support, the pilot light would stay lit. When this happened, the tech would act as if the problem was solved and tell me to call back if the pilot light went out again. The next day, the pilot light would go out again. Thus, I have spent several hours on the phone with customer support running the same tests and answering the same questions over and over again.

Immediately after purchasing an entire kitchen of Gold Series kitchen appliances including the refrigerator with bottom freezer in 2/2013 from Lowes we began having issues with the refrigerator. I am not an engineer and dont profess to be, but even I can figure out that the whole thing is a problem based on a design issue. The top drips water consistently and has from the first, which has been addressed numerous times. Ice maker replaced trying to fix the situation two times. The freezer guides were messed up and off from the beginning, and had to be ordered-waited for, then installed. In total a repair person has been here, an inconvenience on our part - 7 or 8 times and we still dont have a refrigerator that works properly! The last time we had someone look at it, there was a part that had to be ordered from, yes, Mexico and we had to wait a week or so and they told us they could rent us a loaner!!! Are you kidding me?? I should have kept the old 26 yr old fridge in my garage that is still working that was built in America! After buying $8000 in appliances and supposedly a top of the line brand name that in the past has shown integrity to their products... I pay my bill each month, because if I didnt someone would put it on my credit. But who puts it on Whirlpools credit? Who is going to hold them accountable and how many complaints must there be in order for someone in the government to step up and do something to a company that is taking tax dollars from our US and sending it to other countries but selling less quality products to those who do pay the taxes? I am ready to sign a petition! I should have gone with the other brand! Any other brand would have given me a better shot than this of having less of an issue! Terrible experience and certainly NOT GOLD! Shame on YOU Whirlpool!

I got a BRAND NEW Whirlpool from Habitat for Humanity. I registered it as a new product and was told it came from Lowes. Habitat only warranted it for 30 days but when it went out in 60 days, I called on the warranty. They sent out a repairman who said it was unfixable and after 2 weeks waiting to hear from them, Whirlpool said they would not honor the warranty because the serviceman said it had been dropped. I am a disabled senior citizen, I guarantee you I couldnt lift it long enough to drop it. Habitat said they didnt drop it and so did Lowes. Meanwhile, Whirlpool had the nerve to send me an extended warranty for the same refrigerator that they wouldnt honor the original warranty and they treated me like I was just trying to cheat them or something. The only thing I can do now is put it out in my driveway with a big sign on it to warn others NOT to buy Whirlpool products. Big deal.

Purchased from Home Depot and self-installed. That part was not too big a deal but after installing this stove we started a journey of irritation, aggravation and general dissatisfaction. This stove has the standard layout for burners that seem to be common to most low-end stoves. Two huge burners in the front, a simmer burner at the right rear and a general purpose burner at the left rear. Thats all wrong for me and our set up. I want a large burner at the left rear and general purpose every place else. Can you alter the standard configuration? NO! Not without some major alterations to the stove top.Next are the grills or cast cooktops (2 each). They are a bit cumbersome when cleaning the stove but doable. The real problem with the grills are Whirlpool decided to save money by skimping on this feature. The grills are not a stable cooking platform for smaller pans and it turns out Whirlpool recommends square pans for this stove. SAY WHAT? I have pans and skillets from my grandparents and they are ALL round. Thats how that stuff is made. ROUND! The grills design is unstable for any round pot, pan or skillet, if its diameter, is 6 or less. Kiss that excellent saucepan goodbye if you have this stove. My current solution is a piece of light expanded steel over the burner areas.Keeping in mind we use Propane as our heating gas. The adjustment of the flame temp on the four burners is non-existent. They all are either on high, medium or low. There seems to be no fine tuning with these burners. At the end of the day go look for something that is NOT a Whirlpool, LP gas range Model #: WFG515S0EW. You will be better served and less irritable with almost anything else. Even a campfire in the yard is a better choice.

I purchased a Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator for my wifes birthday because my old one was old, ugly, rusted and didnt match. Since she likes to cook, it was her dream in life to have a stainless steel refrigerator with a freezer on the bottom. At the time, it was the only kind that would fit into spot. One year ago, first the ice maker leaked causing water to spill onto the floor. Since I am a mechanical whiz I bought the part for about $30 and fixed it myself. We were happy. After two years, the freezer worked, but the refrigerator part went warm. I had a repairman replace the control box for $100. It still didnt work. We called Whirlpool, and they said the warranty expired, but as a courtesy, would charge me $95 for a service call. That was not acceptable. They told my wife that the products were man-made and are prone to mistakes. I replaced the fan myself for $100, but drove a total of two hours to get the part since it was rare. It worked great. For one and a half weeks, we were happy. Then the refrigerator and freezer DIED. Only the light and the fan worked. We bought a old school used GE top freezer, but at least it is stainless steel. We lost $2000 in two years and the people at Whirlpool refuse to do anything about it because it isnt their problem. Worst refrigerator EVER!!! !

After 7 attempts to fix my 6-year-old Whirlpool Front Load Washer (original price $991.00) I had to trash it. Then I stupidly bought another Whirlpool Front Loader (WFW75HEFW) Feb 2017. It has not worked properly since day 1. The clothes come out dripping wet. At first I thought I was doing something wrong. I tried every cycle, limited amount of clothing and ran additional spin cycles to no avail. Finally I gave up and called for service.Whirlpool is very much aware that a number of their machines came off the line with defective spin bearings but they wont admit to it. Instead I am expected to have it repaired! It involves the entire inside of the machine being rebuilt. Its a 2 man job that will take 3-4 hours. This is totally unacceptable and it is obvious Whirlpool does not make a quality product nor do they value customer satisfaction. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. They are difficult to work with and I for one will never purchase or recommend any of their products. I purchased this washer from Home Depot and now my only hope is that they will honor my intention of purchasing a non-defective product. A couple of years ago I replaced my Whirlpool gas range because after seven years, the house was growing a gas smell that was becoming stronger. I called the gas company and they determined that it was the oven and not their problem. I called an appliance person who could not find the leak but charged me for the service call. Before I had him leave though, I called the gas company back and had the two talk. There was a conflict with their assessments. The service guy left frustrated. The gas company guy came back and again checked and told me that the oven is definitely leaking. He told me they use instruments, not soap, to determine leaks. With this, I was mad at the appliance company. After voicing my frustration, they were going to allow me to purchase a similar new Whirlpool freestanding gas range at a discount and deliver it for free. I relented and spent close to $600 for the new range. After installation, I realized that the quality was cheaper than my old one. The metal rods in the oven racks are thinner and less of them so they are further apart. The cooktop grates are already wearing and chipping. But the thing that has irked me the most is the burners. You cant adjust them to low for a long simmer because the flame goes out, not immediately, but when youre not around to watch it; and the whole house smells of gas fumes! I called the appliance store and they said that because I didnt buy an extended warranty and that a year has already passed, I would have to pay for the service charge. I called Whirlpool and they said that they have not encountered this problem with their stoves yet. Even while on the phone, I could turn every burner on separately and the flame would go out in a circular motion as I turned the knob to low. The only suggestion they had was to call my appliance company and have them look at it. I got nowhere and I was quite frustrated! These Whirlpool stoves should be recalled! Gas leaks are dangerous! I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

This ** should be free if they are the only ones that have it. I never heard of this crap before. The funny thing is they told me I should replace my water heater since the warranty is expired. As of February 2014, the glossy black finish on this microwave is dull where the finger push controls are and scratched up along the top of control panel and top front of door. We only use a wet cloth and towel or microfiber cloth to clean this microwave; nothing that would be abrasive so very disappointed in this product. It looks quite ugly for a new appliance. The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

I have been using Whirlpool products for quite sometime. I had bought a 3 door refrigerator (Protton) about 2 years back. However I am noticing that of late, the vegetable drawer does not cool to the appropriate temperature. The vegetables as a result are spoilt. I am unable to understand what to do. I have checked with the other temperature settings and they are all in the normal mode.

We bought an oven built in from IKEA - Whirlpool. It didnt work from the beginning. We called for a technician, who comes in the next day, took the defective part and ordered a new one. Took two weeks to arrive. Now I just found out that I will have to wait another week for somebody to come and install the replaced part. I am very disappointed with their way to serve me as a client. I explained to them that itd be nice if the technician it will come at the first hour in the morning ex. 9 am so I can go back to work after that. Which is not possible. The tech is more important than you as a customer. The technician will give you a 2 hours windows to arrive and after that who knows how long it will take the repair. So far I have this build-in-oven in the kitchen just for design, is not useful I doubt that it will be working soon. The lady who called me from Whirlpool Canada was giving me theyre the option in the manner or take or leave it.To be honest, I regret buying this oven, so far I havent used. Wasted my time trying to get them to be more efficient, but got the message from them that I dont matter. Never been treated so wrong by somebody who is working in customer service. The first call it was coming from a company which is located in Maple Ridge, BC phone number 604-466-5597 and when I insisted on having the repair being done asap they hung up on me. I asked for supervisor or a manager, and they told me they are not allowed to give any of those on the phone... Buying this oven was a mistake, trying to deal with them another mistake. I dont recommend to anybody this oven or dealing with Whirlpool Canada.

I purchased a french door refrigerator in March 2013. I purchased the Gold Series because I wanted the best. I have come to the conclusion that Whirlpool does not make a refrigerator with the quality to reflect the Gold Label or any label. My ice maker system created ice dams inside the fresh food area, in the ice bin compartment and allowed water to run into the fresh food area and floor. After four repair visits, I am still dealing with occasional water running down the inside of the ice maker door and into the fresh food area. I contacted Whirlpool and tried to get the defective refrigerator replaced; however, the very rude customer service representative insisted on another repair call by A&E. They scheduled the appointment for a time different than we agreed upon, so at this point I have had to cancel this appointment. I do not know why anyone would want to buy an appliance made by Whirlpool, which includes several other brands.

The trim on the front the my Whirlpool electric range has rubbed off. This is where the knobs for the burners are located. It was replaced once during the Whirlpool 1 year warranty (so it obviously happened with the first year!) and again during the second year we have had it. We have an extended warranty but have been told that it is not covered. It is ecstatically unacceptable. We have not used any type of harsh cleansers on it - simply a sponge to remove any spills yet it keeps on disappearing. I strongly recommend against buying any range from Whirlpool as it is quite obvious that they do not stand behind their products beyond the first year.

I purchased the model WDF530PAYM0 serial: F14106104 dishwasher. The foremost reason I purchased this was it had nylon racks. I have discovered that the racks are rusting! It is rusting on the ends where nothing can touch it. I am very disappointed that it is advertised having nylon racks and now it is rusting and deteriorating. This dishwasher states racks-nylon, not racks-nylon coated. I just took some pictures of the racks. I decided to look underneath the top rack where the upper spray arm is located. Now I am plain sick! Most of the underneath is rusting. This dishwasher was purchased and installed 2 years ago. I paid $600 and you would assume that something mechanical would quit after years of use on an average of 1 to 2 times per weeks. Not this one...rusting racks and hard telling what damage the rust flaking off during running is causing to the mechanical components. Lesson learned: Their definition of nylon and nylon coated has no difference.....I very much disagree!

We purchased this Whirlpool pair after our upright machine was unable to be repaired... because of parts coming from China and being hard, if not, impossible to get. We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). It still doesnt clean the clothes and it continually goes off balance when doing sheets, comforters etc. Myself I feel since they have taken the middle agitator out of the machine - it no longer performs the way a washer should and that its main function is to get the clothes clean! I did write a letter to Whirlpool about it and they pretty much told me, “Well too bad.” So much for buying American made products... at least the upright did last 6 years!

I have had trouble with this AccuBake stove since four months after I bought it in 2011. First, the clean cycle would work intermittently then would not ignite to bake, broil warm or clean. All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. Right now, I wish I had my $959 back for the stove and wish Whirlpool had it stuck up their butt.

In January 2021 I purchased a front load Whirlpool washer and matching dryer. They were delivered on February 6 2021. The first load we found water on the floor. I thought I didnt close the detergent drawer so I proceeded with the next load. Again I found water this even through the ceiling tile in room below. So with the next load I sat in laundry room to see what was happening. When on the rinse cycle water shoots out the front of the dispenser drawer.Contacted service, they sent repair man. He ordered new parts and I waited over 3 weeks for next repair call to find out that whirlpool had part all along. Repair man came again and still no resolution to issue. He was told to order same parts again - still no resolution yet again. I fought with Whirlpool till they said they would give me a new machine. Now fighting because delivery people wont uninstall 1st washer and install new machine. Today is June 28 2021 and I still DONT HAVE A WASHER TO USE. I havent even used the dryer yet. I have $3400 and numerous hours with Whirlpool trying to resolve this issue! Can you help? Whirlpool continues to string us along, telling us to be patient, theyre doing their best.

I purchased a Household refrigerator Model WRF535SMBM00 on November 2013 at Home Depot which was not used but until June 2014. Awaiting finishing details on new house closing. The first year in use, I started having problems with freezer frosting, light not working, seemed like the ice produced in it, burned the light bulb. Prior to that sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. I started to think that it had burned, changed the light bulb. It didnt worked. After 2 months, all of a sudden the light worked, but the ice maker stopped working. What would be the suggestion to fix it, may I asked. This is very disappointing. You have a new house, and new appliances and they just dont work. And we are expected to pay for the repair! I dont think so.

My husband and I have been loyal Whirlpool consumers for over thirty years.
My husband and I have been loyal Whirlpool consumers for over thirty years. When it came time to purchase a new refrigerator, we purchased the GC3SHAXVY00 model. It was quite expensive but we decided to splurge. This was the worst mistake. Let me also state that we have had the refrigerator now for maybe 5 years. Within the first 6 months, the door that is the central operating system for the appliance went out. The appliance was still under warranty at that time, so Whirlpool ordered a new door. The technician replaced the door and left. However, within 15 minutes of the new door being replaced, the entire refrigerator began to shut down, not just the freezer. Fortunately, we had the techs cell and we called him and he came back and put the old door on until he could order another new door. That made three doors in the first 6 months of us owning the appliance. Then, the ice maker started freezing up. We were told just to defrost the ice maker once a month, that this was a problem the company was experiencing with this 500-dollar refrigerator. Then, the water line started freezing so we would have to leave the freezer door open for about half an hour every week to get the line to thaw so that we could get the water to come out of the dispenser. Now, the ice maker has quit completely. Are we going to call a whirlpool tech? NO, what for? This refrigerator has been a true lemon from day one. I have three more Whirlpool appliances that have broken down within 6 weeks of purchasing them. It was time to replace our appliances so we thought we would support our local economy by purchasing Whirlpool. To say the least, that will never happen again. I will be replacing all my appliances with LG from this day forward.

My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny
My KitchenAid side by side refrigerator/freezer is a beautiful thing, shiny steel surface, gleaming white inside. However, its made poorly. The ice cube maker compartment broke and the replacement came without any installation instructions. It was hard to figure out and I broke it. Now, everything in the refrigerator is freezing and changing the temperature on the digital panel makes no difference. McKinneys appliance, where I bought it, no longer has a refrigeration technician and they referred me to Whirlpools 1-800 number where I supplied some information and sat in my chair on hold listening to music for a half hour before hanging up.The recording on the phone suggested their online chat where I was asked the same sorts of questions and was told I would get the answers I wanted by paying $5.00. I had no idea what I was getting into but I didnt pay, just terminated that inquiry. Feeling cheated by the company whose product I had mistakenly purchased. Im now running the risk of a technician visit, sometime between 8 am and 4 pm a couple of days from now. I have to be prepared to wait around all day for somebody to look at my refrigerator, charge me a lot of money and, from what Ive read online, potentially see the problem return in a very short space of time.

Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 201
Whirlpool Wash-And-Go washer and dryer - I purchased these new November 2016. Since week two, they have been a constant problem (i.e. not enough water to even get clothes wet, forget about clean; gulping soap from the dispenser; rubbing holes in clothing; putting rust on washed items). The dryer NEVER gets the clothes dry; no matter what setting they always come out damp, even after Ive put them through for two cycles.Three separate repairmen have come to work on the washer replacing sensors and the entire control board. It worked fine for two weeks, now its back to guzzling soap. (It is supposed to do up to 12 loads on one refill of detergent. I get two per refill. Ridiculous! Soap isnt cheap!) And, today it ruined brand new bathroom mats with rust all over them that I had to hand wash to try and remove without much success. At this point I would advise anyone looking for new appliances to try any other major brand and NOT Whirlpool. As soon as I can get the money, these are being junked and Im NEVER buying Whirlpool anything again!

Whirlpool Gas Range Model WFG524LAB0 - Purchased on 09/2013. Product works well but noticed back in July 2014 that cook top was not cleaning well. Did not mind it that much thinking it was just baked on grease and would just do a general cleaning when I get to it. After the holidays and now getting around to clean the range top, I discovered the cause of range top not cleaning well. The porcelain was chipping away.Today I called Whirlpool customer to complain and see what they do. They replied that it was just a cosmetic blemish and that was not covered under warranty. I told them that that cosmetic blemish lead to rusting and eventually result to failure of the product. They also said it was out of warranty but was eager to have a tech come over to check the problem out for additional fee.

A factory authorized technician came out this morning and repaired the wash
A factory authorized technician came out this morning and repaired the washing machine. The bolt had come off of the pulley, which then fell off and burned through the guard, and then burned into the insulating on the bottom. The technician said this happens frequently. All that needs to happen is to have a Loctite bolt holding the pulley rather than a plain bolt which comes loose with the vibration. All Whirlpool had to do was spend a couple cents more for the proper part which would avoid potential fire! I should not have needed to have had my home put at risk, needed this service call or pay all that extra money because of their poor workmanship and design failure. This should be a recall item, and all costs incurred by the consumer should be covered by Whirlpool.

I purchased a 12 year warranty, high end Whirlpool WATER HEATER (OR SO I THOUGHT AT THE TIME) through Lowes in 2014. Model ND50T122-403. Six years and multiple service calls later it is broken again, this time for the final time. I am ripping this garbage out. So livid with this company that could give a rip about their customers. Three years in to my 12 year warranty it started giving me problems. Horrible HORRIBLE customer service. They will insult your intelligence. Whirlpool will not honor the warranty or stand behind their product. They just take your money and basically give a shrug of the shoulders or worse blame you for THEIR TERRIBLE product failing. It may be unscrupulous and unethical but I guess saves them a pile of money which is what they seem to only be out.The Service Tech that came for the 4th time to repair it says they see this all the time in Whirlpool water heaters. Its a Design Flaw they say. I dont know about all that. I just know when I have been swindled. The electronics are garbage. The pilot light when it goes out is not easily reset as others have mentioned on this site. Will stay lit for while and then shuts down. Whirlpool says, despite reams of evidence to the contrary it must be a safety issue in the install, which they have absolutely zero evidence of therefore, they are not honoring the warranty. They are Blaming the installers, according to our service techs who tried to order the part thats supposed to be under warranty. The original installers, by the way were from Lowes, the outfit that sold me this hot mess. Another Class action lawsuit seems ripe. Or perhaps the consumer protection division from each states Attorneys General would be interested in protecting their citizens from practices like this. Lowes is complicit in allowing it, failing to protect their customers and not calling Whirlpool out for it. I cant think of a more deserving target of consumer protection than Whirlpool. A truly horrible, expensive experience. See the Whirlpool logo and RUN - - DO NOT WALK -- THE OTHER WAY!

I purchased this Refrigerator Model #wrb322dmb, bottom freezer, 21cu ft. last year on July 3, 2015. In September I noticed rust spots on the top door. I called Home Depot where I purchased and they directed me to Whirlpool. I did purchase an extended warranty with Home Depot. Whirlpool did replace the top door. Thought that took care of it. Today one year and two weeks out of warranty, I again notice rust on both doors. Called Whirlpool. They said too bad out of warranty, not considering I had a previous report of this very same issue. So since I am very unsatisfied with this result and the fact that an expensive product is rusting, I decided to share to try to prevent someone getting stuck. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust which leads me to believe that it is not Stainless steel, but a Stainless Steel finish and not a very good one. So I am stuck with a rusting $1200.00 refrigerator only after one year. I have always purchased Whirlpool, but no more. They lost a 40-year customer. I have always bought American made but no wonder people are not buying American made any longer. TO SUM IT UP WHIRLPOOL STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES RUST! DO NOT BUY!

Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

Purchased a larger hot water heater after reviewing the offerings from the big box stores. Obtained a 40 gallon Lo-Nox type. No problem. Found that I did not have time to install and 3 months later had a company install for almost $300. Within the first month the pilot went out at least 5 times. OK, so try to see what the situation is, call the installer, then call technical support. I am in a basement, on a cell phone and the representative basically has zero patience, zero tolerance for questions, treats me like an idiot and probably has never looked at any of the guides but keeps harping on me.I asked 5 times for patience and guidance not to be treated like an idiot. As time went on it was clear that the representative has zero experience in front of the product or the information in the install guides. She kept calling it a manual and I tried at least 3 times to ensure that her manual is the install guide. She never did affirm. I stated I wanted my money back and she stated no. Whirlpool has a very skillful representative to keep consumers away. However this consumer is a small apt owner that purchases appliances, as well as hot water tanks microwaves etc. No longer will I purchase anything Whirlpool. Oh I will send a complaint about this rep, and she said thats fine send it to the PO box Total lack of product knowledge and not even skillful in a conversation asking for assistance. The installer also stated that this product has horrible reviews. I wish I had seen them before all of this. Total frustration and something unwarranted. I am out $900 and am replacing the tank with a Bradford white from the plumber. Lesson learned. Good bye Whirlpool, hope others stay away from Whirlpool everything. Choosing another brand is the only thing that makes businesses wake up and smell the money.

Purchased WP fridge, stove, and dishwasher at the same time. All were the gold series. At 20 months, freezer stopped cooling. WP would not cover the repair. Refrigerator has been noisy from day one. This company does not care about their customers.
