Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

I am a retiree after 35 years and 5 months, the last 20 plus years on salary. I purchased a new Whirlpool washer on April 18, 2012 at Lowes in Tiffin, Ohio. The clerk said to take the receipt to Clyde to apply for my rebate. I was informed by a receptionist that we only get a rebate if our purchase is from Sears. I only went to Lowes because of the urgency and was not aware of this change in your policy. I consider this a real slap in the face after all the years of what I consider excellent service to Whirlpool Corporation.

DOES NOT MEET CONSUMER NEEDS AS PROMISED. I wish I read the reviews. Very expensive machine I purchased specifically for the large drum for large loads. The machine cannot handle large loads (if you consider one blanket large load). I have to unplug the machine mid wash, as the load gets stuck on one side and moves my machine across the floor. The noise in the spin cycle with even small amount of laundry sounds like a helicopter is about to land. Then last night I noticed black oil splattered all over my floor. This is a $800.00 machine. Never ever met my exceptions as the machine promised to deliver. Theres very little water that enters the drum... Not even my towels come out clean. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL... EVER EVER EVER.

Purchased 12/15/14 > Two weeks. Freezer 1/2 working, no cooling refrigerator. Contacted whirlpool, a service tech was sent out, tech contacted factory for assistance. Factory service had limited information on new production model, replacement part availability unknown. 48 business hours to conduct research. Six days to figure out what part to order/replace. No further assistance will be provided by whirlpool.

Like many others Im experiencing the same sensor problem with my 4-year old Whirlpool oven. It wont start even after opening and closing the door multiple times as directed. I installed this oven to replace the original Whirlpool model when it died after about seven years. Im absolutely done with this thing. How frustrating when you find out that your guest isnt able to a forgotten cup of coffee that went cold. I thought to call a repairman but after reading all the reviews, I feel its better to switch brands.

I have had many parts replaced on this refrigerator regarding ice maker. But nonetheless yesterday opened freezer and noticed a huge crack about 12 inches on the inside right of the freezer, not near a shelf or anything. I call today of course warranty is up after my 2 yr and Whirlpool says sorry maam there is nothing we can do. Seriously I purchased 2 years and 2 months ago @ $1560 and I’m told I would have to purchase a new one. I will never purchase another Whirlpool anything for we have had nothing but problems with them not standing behind their product. Model #GSS30C6EYY03. This is crazy to me. I have never heard of a refrigerator just cracking through.

We bought the Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. The ice maker does not work. We get 2 cups of ice a day. Home Depot Told us we should get 8 to 10 pounds of ice a day. We call a repair service and they said we should get 2 pounds of ice a day. Still getting 2 cups a day. Call again and now they said we should get 64 cube of ice a day. So now Home Depot has us calling Whirlpool instead of them. Now we will have another repair company coming out. Waiting to see what they have to say.Very disappointed with Whirlpool for not backing their refrigerator. And don’t buy from Home Depot. You can’t return if you buy it. And I have a warranty on it and they have a lemon law 3 repair calls for the same thing and they will take it back. Not true. I will be calling once a week for 5 years until they get me some ice. They don’t deserve a 1 star.

I bought a Whirlpool over the range microwave in 2015, after about 6 months in I noticed that the microwave door was starting to crack. I thought maybe I bought a cracked one. About a year in the microwave is cracked. Pieces of the microwave are starting to fall on the food I am cooking. The last straw was when my 4-year-old was gagging and then choking on a piece of the plastic that fell from my microwave.

Whirlpool GX5FHDXVB03 french door refrigerator: Continual water leaks. Condensation freezes in bottom of freezer compartment then leaks out on to floor. Per repairman, this is a common problem with this model which theyll come out and fix (remove ice and run hot water done drain line for a cost nearly $150) but it will happen again and again, etc. I cant tell you how many times weve had to perform this task. This is an engineering design defect that Whirlpool should fix.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio topload washer (WTW7800XW2) in April 2011. In May 2012, I noticed the door was broken on both sides. It has now popped up and is broken so bad that it can barely be used without replacing it. I called Lowes, where it was purchased, to quickly be told that there was nothing they could do because it is out of the years warranty. This is just such a copy out to have an excuse, so that they would not even offer any assistance. Also, I paid $2,000.00 for the set; I bought the dryer as well. I just could not imagine an expensive machine like this having such a problem. Prior to buying this machine, I had my washer for 10 years. It has no problem; it was just time to buy a newer model, so I thought! After the store (Lowes) would not help, I decided to call Whirlpool; and the woman I spoke with was even less help. Andrea said there was nothing they could do since it was outside the year of manufacturers warranty. She seemed glad to have this as an excuse. I told her this is too much money to have something like this to happen. I told her it is obvious the door was defective. She said again sorry but that theres nothing she could do. She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. I asked how much the door was, and she told me $212.00. I feel like I have been royally and deliberately ripped off, and Whirlpool knows it. I say to anyone reading this to please be aware if you are purchasing this product. You will most likely be sorry you invested all this money for it. You will get a companys brand that does not care and will not stand by their product.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Absolute piece of garbage! Doesnt clean clothes at all. Too bad there isnt a glass top to this machine where you can witness the inefficient operations as it goes through a cycle. How can a machine be energy efficient when a cycle takes an hour and a half? What a sad situation that this is made in America. I feel like such a sucker when I read all of these posts.

I have hated this Cabrio washer and dryer set since the day they were delivered brand new by Best Buy a couple of years ago. The washer does not clean well, often does not spin dry, and leaves some clothes dry after a full wash cycle!!! I have to wash small loads on the deep water cycle to even have a chance at cleaning the clothes. The clothes are so dreadfully compacted and tangled that it takes great effort to birth them out of the washer, unfurl them, shake them, and put them into the next torture machine- the dryer. It is as if Whirlpool intended to build a machine to twist clothing so tight that it requires a bodybuilder to untangle the clothing. Then the items are so incredibly crumpled that ironing has found its way back into my already busy life. Ironing is a massive challenge to the degree of wrinkles in the clothing. The slanted tops are icing on the cake. Cant even pull the clothes out of the dryer to the top of it because they slide right off. Cool.

Whirlpool corporation is one of the worst company Im dealing with, we bought a new home and had new Whirlpool appliance incorrectly installed in Sept 2018, I raised a ticket in Oct 2018 for my dishwasher which doesnt open properly, flamingo services in Atlanta came and unplugged dishwasher saying its not installed properly. I wait for more than 30 days for parts to arrive and my dishwasher to be fixed. Called Whirlpool/Flamingo. Both dont give confirmation as to when the parts will arrive (note they havent been shipped by distributor). Wow seriously??? Please Im already facing inconvenience since more than month on a brand New appliance. They say no compensation no replacement. Only I will have to wait indefinite time for dishwasher to be shipped and repaired. So much of inconvenience and customer service says she will not call me back and I will have to follow up? What service is this, infinite wait??? Mine is still in warranty, #Georgia #cumming

I had purchased a hot water heater on Saturday and installed it myself. I filled the tank and waited about twenty minutes before turning the power on. I waited a couple of hours before testing the water temperature and it was cold. I checked the temperature setting and it was set at one twenty five, I went to Lowes and informed the service person and was told there was nothing they could do about it, I had to call the number on the tank for Whirlpool. I called the number and was told they could come out to check it but we would be responsible for the labor charges. I didnt understand why because it was under warranty and we had also purchased the extended warranty. I informed my wife so she could deal with Whirlpool because I was going to work. My wife called a number of times and was getting transferred from one person to another and getting no help at all. She was told by one person that it was maybe a problem with the wiring in our home or maybe the plumbing. One person told her that it was not their problem. We had to finally pay an electrician to come out to look at it and had to pay him to replace a heating element. The cost of the electrician and the part came to an extra two seventy five dollars. The only real help that we received was from Lowes managers that were willing to take the water heater back if we could get an authorization number to return the water which Whirlpool claimed they did not have any type of a number. Our 400 dollar water heater turned into an almost 700 dollar water heater. We had also purchased a refrigerator from Lowes that was the Whirlpool brand that quit working after about four months and we had to pay to have it fixed. Needless to say, we will never again purchase any Whirlpool products or recommend them to anyone. The service was very very poor and we are not happy with Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool CABRIO washing machine. I was assured it would do large & bulky. I didnt realize that being so called energy efficient meant that it didnt put enough water in to get my clothes saturated! On large loads or bulky items when I put in my laundry detergent only to find out I had to try to wash them again. Parts of the clothes would still be unwashed & dry after going through a whole cycle! After washing the clothes that did get clean comes out looking like I took them to a stream and washed them on rocks. After taking care of my clothes so they didnt look as old as they were, they are now faded & old looking. I hate this washing machine!

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer a few months ago. When we wash the white cloths using the (white) setting and add bleach and the HE detergent, the washer does not clean the white cloths very good at all. Sometimes the white cloths come out looking worse than they did before they were put in the washer. We called the people at Whirlpool and they said there is nothing they can do as long as all the functions on the washer work the way they’re suppose to. I thought the function of the washer is to clean the clothes but, they say no, as long as everything on the washer is working. That is what their warranty covers.

My Whirlpool side by side refrigerator which is not 7 years old has had more repairs than you can imagine. After paying over $1,500.00, I have had a repair service come out at least 5 times. Today, they say I need a new compressor at the tune of $850.00. This combined with my other repairs would add up to around $1,300.00. First time owner of a Whirlpool range and will be the last time. Nothing but junk! I liked how the top grates were and electronic ignition. The knobs turn too easy and often when bumped will turn gas on without igniting. Very dangerous. The oven grates guides rusted almost immediately making it difficult to pull racks out. The oven light works sometimes. The glass on the oven door at the bottom came unglued. The bottom door under oven is a total waste. No use for it. In my adult life I have had different brands but this is the absolute worst and will never recommend this brand to anyone period.

I bought the Whirlpool French 4 door fridge WRX988SIBM 01. I like the way it stores and layout (other than the icemaker taking the entire left door out). But I got a lemon, I bought the Lowes 5 year warranty (with the 4 repairs replacement). The fourth repair and dead declaration was 5 years and a week (so just out of Lowes extended warranty by a week). The Death Certificate repair guy said they dont make em like they used to. So I am now buying another fridge - trying Samsung this time. Every fridge has a lemon once in awhile and with my luck... Well you can thank me for taking it off your hands! :) I am averaging 5 years per fridge. Thats a lot of money and I expect to get at least 10 years life on a major appliance.

Today, after five years of washing items in the Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading, HE washer; I am taking the time to express just how poorly this machines operates. Clothes do not get clean, dish towels with dried food still have food on them, and towels get holes. If I wash items with sand after going to the beach, the dryer vent has to catch all of the sand that was never washed out. Rust has developed on the inside and drips down to ruin clothes. I would take back my previous washer with the agitator that was over twenty years old in a heartbeat. When we needed a new dryer, we went ahead and bought a matching washer. Painful decision!

I purchased a home in March of 2013. When I bought the home, I noticed it had a new Whirlpool 50-gallon gas 6th sense hot water heater model number ND50T122-403. It was newer and I thought it was a good selling point and would last many years. The original owner had purchased the heater in March of 2011. Three months after I moved in, the control valve went bad - 4 flash eco lockout. I called Whirlpool. They sent out the replacement part. I had to pay for shipping express delivery. Since then the control valve has gone out 2 more times, a total of 3 times in one year. On the third time, they gave me a return number for a replacement. I dont even want this heater for free. I am still required to pay for installation and additional installation parts. This product is terrible. Save yourself a headache. Do not buy this product!

Im very frustrated. I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator for nearly $1300 in Sept. 11. It is a side-by-side Model #ED5KVEXVL00. The refrigerator side started warming up to the point that we noticed. We put a thermometer inside to confirm; it went up to nearly 60 degrees. We tried cleaning any dust underneath from the coils and even unplugged it for a while. The compressor appears to be the potential problem. Sears is not sending a repair guy for 2 WEEKS (It is a hot July here in NY)!!!!We are saddened that Whirlpool says it is out of the one-year warranty - so now we are facing the choice of a large repair bill or buying a new refrigerator. What a waste of money... Its not even 2 years and it needs service or a dumpster. Shame on Whirlpool for not standing up for customers when clearly there is something wrong with this machine so close to the warranty and so new. Sears and Whirlpool - youve lost me as a future appliance customer!!! :(

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowes in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said dont bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowes. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

However unlike the unit we saw the shelves arent adjustable. They are preset. Also the ice maker on top is very small and makes ice very slowly. The freezer section ice maker is much larger. The main complaint I have with that is unless you push the tray all the way to the back ice can drop behind the tray and fall down causing the freezer door not to always close properly, leaving you with semi defrosted food. Whoever designed this refrigerator was an idiot. All issues are really related to design flaws. This is a very expensive refrigerator. I expected a great unit and got a piece of crap instead. Stay away from this model at all cost. It would be smarter to buy 2 refrigerators instead if you have the room. This model will give you nothing but a headache and grief. This is our story about our experience. This all took place within 1 year. We bought it at Lowes. They were wonderful when it came to taking care of us when it was within the stores’ warranty. They really tried to help us. Once their warranty ran out they put us in touch with our new repairmen. Lowes did tell us that one other man bought the same unit and he was up to refrigerator # 15. Like I said, this unit is crap. Our first unit was delivered with a huge dent in the door. They took it back (lucky for us we have 2 other refrigerators).Second unit arrived in store also badly dented. They didnt bother to deliver that unit. Third unit arrives at store but back area around motor all dented up. They order a 4th unit. This unit wasnt dented up so they delivered it. However doors were very off and wouldnt line up so it didnt close properly. A 5th unit was ordered and same issue with the doors. A 6th unit ordered and they called telling me that it was all dented up and needed to order a new unit. Our 7th unit arrived and in 3 days started making funny sounds. Dual ice makers stopped working and inside refrigerator is was very warm. Lowes ordered #8. This unit the freezer doors werent lining up so #9 was ordered. This time everything seemed to line up, no dents however by the third month it started making a funny sound. Dual ice makers stopped working. Warm inside the refrigerator section. Lowes sent out a repair man. He explained a design flaw was not enough insulation around the fan so it was icing up. That was replaced and it was working nicely for 4 months. Same issues with fan icing up, the noise and no ice. The repair man came out again and mentioned what was kind of a recall with the unit. The control panel in the back of the refrigerator was wrong and needed the correct one to be put in. That was done. He told us that we shouldnt have any more issues with it.Same thing again. Same symptoms, same results...we had to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food. (I just put in an entire prime filet mignon I planned for a special dinner and had to throw it out. OUCH!) Awaiting for the repair man, again. He will be out in 5 more days. Im sure it will be a new issue, a new brand new fix and it will work for a few weeks to months and we will be calling him again.

Bought the Whirlpool Duet washing machine. It lasted around eight years. In the meantime I was replacing the rubber door seal cleaning out the pump constantly. The plastic pieces inside the drum all broke. Every few months I would get an error code. And During spin cycle it would literally shake my entire house. The problem with all the front loaders is the construction of the drum and the drum bracket. They are made of dissimilar materials. (Stainless and zinc) When you add soap to the water then the bracket becomes an anode and the drum becomes a cathode, which creates electrolysis which corrodes the bracket. When the bracket breaks your machine is totaled. I’m finished with every manufacture except Speed Queen. I bought a Top loader Speed Queen and I love it, it is built like a tank.

Ever since I purchased your washing machine, it has sounded like a diesel truck or cement mixer. You cant hear anything over the noise anywhere in the house.Have had two repairmen out to look at it and they say, Thats normal. I have a friend who has the same machine and it doesnt make noise like this one. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again and hope this blows up before the warranty expires. Also the tub is falling apart. What a piece of ** this machine is. You should be ashamed to put trash like that on the market.

Bought a commercial coin operated Whirlpool washer on 4-18-2015. As of this date machine has not been used that much, the electronic part has gone haywire. All lights on and shows the door lock (which is not) disconnected, nothing changes when I put it back. Contacted Whirlpool technician, have been told that this is a defective model. He has apparently had several service calls that are new machines and they are all the same issue. Told to contacted Whirlpool, Whirlpool playing dumb. I have several other older Whirlpool commercial washers and dryers, never had issues. I guess they are doing shortcut garbage machines. Also, the interior of machine is less sturdy than the older models. Will not buy any Whirlpool products again. They do not stand by their products try to tell me that they are not aware of defective machines. Cheaper to play stupid!!! Disappointed with their lack of standing by what they sell!!!

I purchased a Cabrio Top Load Washer and Front Load Dryer four and a 1/2 years ago and have had nothing but trouble with them! The dryer needs to be run 2 cycles to get the clothes dry. In that time I have had a repairman come to the house 3 different times to look at the dryer, which cost me over $200. They have had to replace the belt and inner pulley and then the sensor harness. Recently when they came they tried replacing the coils. It continues to give me trouble drying the clothes and I am very dissatisfied with it. A few weeks ago the washer broke. I have had repairmen come to the house 4 different times. Multiple times there has been a problem with the spin and drain cycle. All of the water would not empty out. I would have to run the cycle again. They eventually replaced the actuator. I continued to have difficulties with the washer. Then the machine got very loud when it would spin out sounding like a rocket was going to take off! The repairman came once again said it was the motor. When they returned with the parts and took the machine apart, the parts inside the machine had all corroded! The water had been leaking inside the machine, destroying it, and a black sticky buildup had formed! The machine was deemed unrepairable! I paid over $700 for each machine and am very upset about this. When I spoke to customer service they would not stand by their product because I didnt have the warranty anymore. After numerous phone calls I filed a complaint and gave a bad review of the support service and product that I received.Weeks later they called me and offered to have me purchase another machine at half price! I had already bought another brand washing machine and I asked them to apply the amount toward what I had spent on the new one. They would not and insisted the only thing they could do would be to have me buy their washer at half price. I told them I lost faith in their product and didnt want another one. So, I would not recommend the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer, or Whirlpool products since they will not stand by them! I have pictures to prove what happened to the washer!

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500DC0 - 2 months out of warranty, 14 months old. Motherboard fried. $300 if I do it myself. $550 to have it done. The unit was $780 on sale. Brand new piece of junk. Zero stars but thats not an option. Quite honestly, it doesnt clean very well and it doesnt rinse very well so we have to rinse twice to get the smell out if we use bleach. So whats the sense in buying a high efficiency washer? I work outdoors and weve had cheap washers in the past that clean much better and lasted many years.

This product is JUNK!! We replaced out hot water tank 1-07-11. Worked good for almost 9 months. Then the pilot light keeps going out. We have replaced everything three times already. Now we cant get it lit for nothing. Its blinking 7 times!!! This should not be happening. When you call Whirlpool, you always get some smart ** rep trying to solve your problems over the phone, telling you what its doing. Excuse me, your not here with it, I am. I even had the plumber on the phone, he got so mad at them, he handed me my phone back and said he is not dealing with stupid. They have no clue what they are talking about!! Its crap that we have to pay $30 for them to express mail a part when its the middle of the winter and we have no hot water. Im at my wits end with this hot water tank. Im ready to sue their butts. Sounds like to me by reading all these reviews, a lot of people are having the same issue. We need to do something about this. They had a suite against them but not for my water tank. They were replacing the parts. Ive spent over $1000 from buying it new, having it installed and paying for repairs on the hunk of junk!!!What can we do??? We need to take a stand against Whirlpool. We need to exchange information and contact an attorney and make them pay!!

My Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5550xw0 has had many problems. It started with the lid lock error, replaced it, lasted about 2 weeks, and got another one. I did the diagnostic test that pointed me to the actuator, replaced it. It worked for 2 weeks, got another one, and then another one. I was getting a bad reading from the control panel, replaced it, and that worked for a while. I found out that the actuator had a little water drops on it. I figured that it must be the tub seal, so I replaced it. That lasted about a week and a half, and it started dripping again. Now, I figured it is that the transmission has bad bearings, that causes my tub seal to leak, that causes water drips to go onto my actuator, causing a failure in that, which can give me all kinds of bad readings on the diagnostic test. I have replaced at least half the cost of the original purchase price on a year and a half old washer. I also bought my son a Whirlpool Cabrio washer a few months before I bought mine, and he hasnt had a single problem.

I submitted a complaint several days ago about my 3-year old Whirlpool Duet washer not working and costing $550 to fix. I decided to just replace it so my husband unhooked it this morning. We were going to to try to sell it on Craigslist as is. I pulled out the laundry detergent compartment to clean it because I had filled it with detergent and fabric softener the other day. The smell that came from inside the washer where the detergent is dispensed was awful. I looked inside and it was completely filled with mold. I had periodically run the clean cycle with bleach but apparently this did nothing. I am writing this second review to warn people about this. I am going to just trash the washer now and I hope this has not affected our health in any way. For those of you who are thinking about purchasing this washer or one similar, I strongly urge you to stick with the plain old top loader. That is what I am going back to.

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet (front loader) washer and dryer in 2005 from Best Buy. We had many problems with the washer leaking around the front door. After several visits, Best Buy (in 2007) said we could pick out a new washer. We picked out the Whirlpool Cabrio. About 2 years later the mother board had to be replaced on the Cabrio. We are constantly getting F codes and have to unplug the washer several times for it to reset. It also sounds like a plane getting ready to take off and from what I read that repair is very costly. It has been leaking as well. I contacted Whirlpool today and they informed me that there was no recall on the machine and when I told them that there were many complaints for the same issues online, they said they do not base their recalls on blogs and to fix the problem, I would have to incur the cost. This machine is the biggest piece of junk that I have ever owned. I will be sure not purchase a Whirlpool in the future!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot in Nov, 2013. Model is WRF560SEYWOO with water in the door and bottom freezer with ice compartment. This is a very small refrigerator for my very small space. I swear these companies program their appliances to break down exactly 1 month after the warranty is up. Thats what happened to me. Dec 2014 this horrible loud humming noise started. You could hear it out on the sidewalk! Then the door with the water just detached from the bottom and screws and plastic pieces fell out all over the floor. The day the repairman came he noticed all the rubber lining in the doors was detaching and huge chunks were falling off of it. He called to get replacement parts for everything and whatyaknow, all parts for this unit have been discontinued! This is what we did to cope with all these defects. The noise was caused by ice building up around the exhaust fan because the unit had stopped defrosting that area, so every 3 days I have to get out my hairdryer and melt the ice at the back of the unit. Next we MacGyvered the door so that it is resting on the freezer door. Next, he brought in some tape and taped all the pieces of rubber falling off my doors!! This frigging frig cost me $1,653.00!! I AM FURIOUS. Why isnt Con. AFFAIRS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?!

Whirlpool Cabrio - 6 Big Problems: I dont write bad reviews on anything but in this case, I feel I have to warn potential buyers. Ive owned this washer for more than 4 years. Here are the problems: 1) This washer TEARS HOLES in my towels; 2) It SHREDS some clothes; 3) Loads are UNBALANCED every time I use it, regardless of load type or size; 4) Very LOUD when running. My neighbors can hear it and they are 150 feet behind us. It sounds like someone is pounding on the walls of my house. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I havent seen it, but I believe it might actually be jumping off the floor; 5) Its NOT High Capacity as advertised. Sure, the drum is big, but you cant put much more than a tiny load in it. If you try a larger load, the clothes dont get cleaned; and 6) Whirlpool wont do a darn thing about it. They dont care about the buyer or their own reputation. Our family grew and I thought we needed a larger washer. I foolishly replaced a ten-year old, $300 standard top-loading GE washer that never had a problem, with this expensive **. The GE had a drum that was about 1/2 the size and it washed MORE clothes! The GE never damaged any clothes and it wasnt ridiculously loud like this one. I regret ever buying this expensive washer and I will never again buy a Whirlpool product.

I bought a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in 2005. In the first 12 months I replaced either 4 or 5 thermocouples and a total of between 15 and 20 from the time I bought it in 2006 and 2012. Only 1 time did the company replace one of them. When I would call them the rep would say things like, There may not be enough ventilation or Was it installed by a licensed technician? The 1 time they did take care of a problem the technician they sent out said NOTHING was wrong with the ventilation or the way it was installed. Oh yea, Customer Service told me that they did me a FAVOR (exact word) when they did that.In 2012 the hot water heater went out for good. The company would NOT do anything about it. I took it back to Lowes where I got it and they replaced it for me since the manufacturer wouldnt. The new hot water heater went out after only 3 years. I turned the hot water on and it was not getting hot so I checked the hot water heater to see what was going in. I found the pilot was burning, but the burner was not burning. I turned the water heater off and and checked everything out. When I tried to relight the water heater, guess what? It will not light. I am now being told that this heater has NO warranty, this 3 year old heater. There is MORE but I wont go into that now. Service engineer came on 10/05/2011 and reported that compressor get overheated. He has replaced compressor, capillary, gas, starting and overload relay and charged Rs1650. But compressor continued on, it does not cut off on temperature. I complained on 22/05/2011. Again service engineer came and replaced thermostat and charged Rs150. On 02/06/2011,again cooling was not proper. I complained on 05/06/2011. Service engineer came and advice to send the refrigerator to service center at Halol at our cost. After one week, it was sent back to me. Still ice not forming in freezer. We thought that it is due to summer. We also informed Himanshu Sales Halol. They advice to give complaint to customer care. Complaint was given on 28/11/2011. On 29/11/2011, a service engineer came and informed us that the compressor overheated. On 06/12/2011, the service engineer came with new compressor. He replaced the compressor, capillary, starting and overload. After gas charging, fridge was started. Whirlpool refrigerator model GX5F-IDXVB07; S/N K23918029; 24.8 cu ft purchased for almost $2,000 on 1/7/2014. Before it was four months old I had spoken with store about it frosting up the freezer drawer several times. Finally found it wasnt level and drawer was hanging. Ok figured it was ok, even though I had other issues with it. I took the cosmetic issue of false height on door, which made it seem larger and drastically size reduced produce drawers which made it necessary it actually cut off celery two inches to fit in drawer and door nooks being so narrow that they only fit 3 small condiments in them on the left door and its a trick to fit thing in the right, but since they are deeper can fit a little more. Ok thats my fault for not actually measuring. But who takes condiment jars shopping? The killer is that a leak in the ice maker, lets water/ice to build up under the ice maker on floor of freezer drawer. It then freezes there and if we dont take out the drawer and remove the ice chunks by hand it thaws and runs out in the floor about once a week. The leak began to be worse in August 2014. I understand it will need repair. What makes me really upset is the refrigerator is supposedly a very good brand and I have had so many issues with it that I curse it regularly. A two thousand dollar fridge with this many issues and I am stuck with it. I guess I should have contacted company before warranty went out, but we would get it past a problem for a while, then it would come back. I am just sick that I ever bought it in the first place! I hate it and will never buy or advise anyone else to buy from Whirlpool again. Quality is awful. Looks good on surface, stinks for quality.

I purchase Whirlpool refrigerator. After a year it has done nothing but give me problems. Thank God I purchase insurance for repairs. I had the refrigerator fix over 3 times. First the water and ice wasnt working so the filter had to be change. Then the ice was made and my refrigerator start leaking. The repair guy stated the fan and something else is not working. I am a single mother struggling and to spend over a 1000 dollars for a refrigerator that does nothing but give me trouble. I am totally unhappy with this product.

Whirlpool extended the warranty another year as of this date and several service calls problem not resolved. When a tech comes out there is a diagnostic check that checks the temp for 10 min. Since the temp drops after 10 min they cannot detect problem. I asked for the tech to remain for the complete cooking period which they cannot do. I have wasted many meals and still have a oven that does not work.

We have had the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer for 4 years now. Let me start off by saying the first 6 months was wonderful. Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.

It will constantly go off balance. I usually have to wash the cloths twice before they come clean and I have to unload washer and re-load it to get it to possibly spin without going off balance again. It will twist the quilts and fold them under themselves and tear them from the pressure. I have called after 6 months of owning this product and explained to the Lowe’s employee and they said it cannot be returned unless it was broken mechanically. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever own. The last Whirlpool product lasted 12 to 20 years. I hated this thing after the first few washings. I generally have to stop the washer and let it soak and then turn it back on if I want the damn thing to get the dirt out. I am using the required detergent as well. I will never own another top load machine like this. I am trying to unload it. Now, I have to buy another washer because I might as well take the clothes out and beat them on a rock at a creek with this thing.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator side by-side model #ED2PHEXMQ00, made in 01/04. As I was letting my dog out at 4 am, I heard a sizzling noise and I immediately smelled an electrical burning odor. I lost all of my food, but thankfully I caught it before it caused a fire. Had this happened during the day, I would have lost my 3 dogs and my home. I had to borrow a mini fridge for the time being because I dont have the money for the repairs or replacement. Since this is an ongoing problem, Im not sure replacing the part will make me feel confident in trusting that it wont happen again. I may not be as lucky to be standing next to it if it does happen again. Whether its under warranty or not, Whirlpool should take responsibility and issue a recall and replace the parts. I would never suggest buying a Whirlpool product in the future.

Bought my 5 door refrigerator from Lowes in December 2016. Was delivered in January. Had a dent in the door so another new one was ordered that arrived in late January. From day one the dual ice makers have not made enough ice for our family. I called Lowes to have it checked out thru warranty. The repairman came out and said Its making ice. I cant fix something that is not broke. He suggest I buy a under the counter ice maker. What the heck! I pay over $3000.00 For dual ice makers and still dont have enough ice to supply my family. Cant believe Whirlpool puts out a dual ice maker in a refrigerator and it cant even supply a family of 5. The repairman said a normal family size is 3. I dont know where he came from but to me thats not normal. He was from Tutor Appliance Repair and was very rude until he realized he pissed me off then he blamed it on Whirlpool. The refrigerator is beautiful but Id rather have my old one. It made more ice than this new one does. Will I buy whirlpool again? No I wouldnt. If they cant stand behind their product and what its suppose to do then I dont need it. Bad thing I have to deal with this one for a while until I can purchase a new and better one. If you have this refrigerator dont plan on having guest or family dinners it will not hold up for ice tea. Not to mention after dinner drinks. Model # WRV986FDEM01. SeriAL # K63817128.

I called customer service because my pilot light would not stay lit on my 2005 Whirlpool water heater. I was told that I needed to install the upgrade kit and that the water heater was malfunctioning because of a lack of air and that it needed to be cleaned at the bottom. I paid for the shipping of the kit although I believe it is called an upgrade or conversion kit versus a recall for this water heater to save money and to get the consumer to pay for replacing defective parts. A certified technician installed the kit but the pilot light would not remain lit. He replaced the thermocouple, although new parts had just been received. This did not help either. The technician and I called customer service, which didnt resolve the issue. I also asked for a manager who would only agree to send out another conversion kit. There are three years remaining on the warranty but I am being told to keep replacing new parts with new parts until it works. That is unacceptable. Also, I was not informed that my problem is a recurring problem with this Whirlpool water heater that I purchased at Lowes.

In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.

I purchase almost four thousand dollars on WHIRLPOOL appliances this month. From: HOME DEPOT 114 FEDERAL RD DANBURY CT. Received the items a week and a half ago 9/15/18. I was told to exam item no scratches, dents etc. I did that and had them put in place. I didnt get a chance to use washer until the fourth day. At which time realized it didnt work. Went over to store and they gave me Whirlpool repair phone number. Called and was told they only repair Mon - Fri 8am-4pm. I work every day until 5pm and off weekends. Told Whirlpool repair just that. THEN I TOLD by girl I was speaking to (Whirlpool repair) I COULD JUST RETURN THE WASHER TO THE STORE (Home Depot) MYSELF. I WAS FIT TO BE TIED. I told her, What should I do? Carry it on my back? I have never been treated so poorly. I just moved here from Florida, started a new job. I cant take a day off to have the washer that should have worked fixed. I will never purchase anything else from Home Depot if this is how Im treated, and Whirlpool their customer service stinks!!! So now Im stuck with a washer that doesnt work and a company (Whirlpool) wont accommodate their customer. (Whats wrong with this picture???)

Now the heat element is obviously faulty because the dishes are cold through all cycles. So I have to call them back again. I have no complaints about the service company. I purchased a Whirlpool WTW6600SW in January 2010. I dont normally purchase an extended warranty, but it was a fairly expensive washer. So I did. In July 2011, water starts gushing all over the floor. After my first visit to see what is wrong, I ordered a part. I was out of a washer for 2 weeks. Then in August 2012 the same thing happened. This time the repairman didnt get the part on properly, so they had to come back a third time. I am out of a washer for about 3 weeks. Now, October 2012, it is doing the same thing again! Customer service tells me it has to be repaired for the same problem four times in the same 12 months in order to receive any replacement value. It will have to break two more times! This washer is a piece of junk!

Now after 2 years with the same problem every 6 months I get in contact with corporate and advised to get an extended warranty because “they don’t replace refrigerators”. I am on my second Whirlpool hot water heater within 7 years and both had a 9-year supposed warranty. Upon calling the number (877 817-6750) I was finally told they would replace the heater. When I stated that I did not want another faulty Whirlpool heater and that I would take the faulty heater back to place of purchase but that I wanted a local plumber to install their own heater, I was told that I had to have a thermal expansion tank or they basically would not do anything. Why would I want a third Whirlpool product? The second one is ruining my tiled basement floor as it is. So after spending over $600 for the faulty heater, now I have to spend $700 to replace it.

My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 201
My landlord purchased a new Amana washer (NTW4605EW0) Labor Day weekend 2015. It started having issues in the spring, so we went through the process of utilizing the manufacturers warranty. Apparently, Amana, part of Whirlpool, requires 5 attempts at repairing the machines before replacing. Okay, so starting in June 2016, we arranged service appointments 5 times and replaced 1 part, then another, 4 times. Clearly, that part is defunct. Right? Fast forward to September and then into October. Get a new washer, and not the one I preferred. We got the Whirlpool WTW4816FW1. Before the installers leave, we are having the SAME issue. Stops midcycle, doesnt finish cycle, sometimes stops while filling, or while full, or kid wash, or mid drain... But now with the new washer, the drain and spin cycle thinks it should FILL instead of drain... and Whirlpool said they would get someone out the next day, a promise they cannot keep because they dont supply the repair guy, they source with local companies. So, the company ordered 3 parts... That could be the problem. And 4 days later, 2 parts are on freaking BACK ORDER. Parts arrive. All new parts replaced. Machine still doesnt work. Outlet tested by us and them and it is fine. The techs think there is some kind of RF interference. Turn off sensor light, which is on the same wall, unplug power to wifi router (which outdates the washer). Still, doesnt work.I have spent half my week, every week, since June, restarting my washer, unplugging the damn thing, waiting, and waiting, trying again and again and again to wash 2 loads of laundry a week... Literally takes a week until the damn thing does its job. Whirlpool is sent us a replacement washer. Can you guess what happened the first time we started it? SAME ISSUE. Cycle will not complete. Sometimes it dies before it even fills. Sometimes it dies while filling. Sometimes, it will fill and fill and drain and fill and fill and drain and... never stop filling. Or, the fun one, the drain and spin cycle thinks it is suppose to fill. Continuously. And then, suddenly, after unplugging it for 1 hr, or 24, or 72 hrs, it will work fine for 1-7 cycles. Nothing is consistent except that it doesnt work consistently. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS MUCH TROUBLE???

I had an electric 36 Whirlpool, smooth top cook top for 18 yrs. Worked great, cleaned with Windex and occasional scraper. Didnt show streaks or spots. I purchased a 40 gallon water heater at Lowes and installed about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago, it got an upper sensor failure code on the gas valve. It would heat by resetting (turning valve off, waiting a minute and then lighting) but after a few minutes, it would fail again. I called the customer service and they mailed out a new upper sensor. When it came a few days later (I paid for shipping), I installed it but the same failure code. Again, the only heat I could get was by resetting the valve several times before a shower. I called customer service again, told them what I did and they said, Oh, the problem is the gas valve then. So they mailed out a new gas valve unit. It then came a few days later and I installed it according to the enclosed directions to the letter. Still got the failure code and still had to keep resetting it to get any warm water before a shower.I called customer service again, told them what I did and he said, Well, did you flush the water heater with apple cider vinegar before you installed the new gas valve? I said, No, it wasnt in the enclosed directions to do so. He said, You should have done that and it would have worked. I will send out a new gas valve. At this point, I blew up. Two weeks with no reliable hot water. I told him I want a new water heater and he refused. I asked to speak to his superior. He said no. Dont ever get a Whirlpool product. Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.

We purchased our Whirlpool Cabrio platinum washer about 3 years ago. I am completely frustrated with it. When it is on spin cycle, it sounds like a freight train going through my house. During the rest of the washing... it squeaks. And right now this is the 5th attempt to wash the same load of laundry. Because it keeps getting unlevel and it will not continue after I move the clothes around to get it level. So I have to start all over. There is not a spin cycle option that is available by itself. Every time I have to choose the rinse/drain/spin option. Obviously it is not under warranty anymore! Only a one year warranty... really pathetic! And when we called they offered us a little discount to buy another one. No thank you!!! Wont ever buy Whirlpool again.

So disappointed with my Whirlpool purchase. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product in my life. This is my second whirlpool oven to die in a short period of time. My most recent oven only made it two years. For there to be an internal wiring issue that is now costing me $500 to repair on top of waiting 30 days for them to be able to fix the oven. This is a terrible product. Unfortunately, I didnt realize the poor quality and poor reviews prior to purchasing from this company. PLEASE be advised.

This microwave has crack everywhere and its barely 3 months old. When I want to use it, it makes this weird noise and then it stops. I have not talked to Whirlpool yet, but Ill see what theyll say. My recommendation right now for all those individuals trying to purchase a microwave, dont even look at Whirlpool brand, they just ***.

I have had nothing but Whirlpool for 40+ years, I am on my 2nd washer and 2nd dryer! They do the job I need, they are very reliable. If I had any downside it would be they don’t hold a queen size comforter.
