I have to say I am taking the time to write a review for my Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine since Ive never been this dissatisfied with a product. Every time I wash my brand new expensive black dress pants, I have resulting white marks all over! Im so upset! I washed one load three times with no soap at all just to remove the marks present! At this point, I will never buy another Whirlpool product. =(

I own a top two door refrigerator cabinet with a middle drawer meat cooler and a pull-out out lower chest freezer. The ice maker is built into the door and it is a very simple to operate and stable appliance. The refrigerators space is very functional and flexible for your food storage.. We have moved it 3 times and never had a problem. It is my wifes favorite appliance and fits our needs perfectly without a lot of bells and whistles. The ice maker filter is easy to change and the ice maker itself is super reliable. The model number is WRX735SDBM00. We have been Maytag and Whirlpool appliance owners forever because of their reliability and the ease of used to clean them.

I have spent 30 minutes trying to change light bulb under the oven and get the cover plate back on. I watched the film on how to do it, it was amusing to watch the struggle to get it on. It was amusing to say the least. Whirlpool watching it??? I do not believe whoever designed this worthless time consuming light cover never tested it one time, or it would had been more user friendly. It amazes me what kind of trash they can build for us consumers to have to deal with at times. Tomorrow this overhead piece of junk is coming out and being replaced by a non Whirlpool one. I am going to get a tractor and smash it into little pieces and put on side of street with a note saying this is what happens when you try for an hour to change the bulb.

My front load washer doesn’t get my clothes clean. I have to rinse twice and still there is soap in my towels and they smell bad. I’ve followed all the tips without much luck. Now I use only Oxyclean and rinse with 1/4-1/8 c vinegar. The machine doesn’t pump all of the water out of the machine either. To me it is low-efficiency!

I purchased the GBS309PVS single oven in Dec. 09 along with a Whirlpool Gold microwave, dishwasher, and stove top. The oven was dented and scratched, so another one was delivered on 1/10/10. I finally decided to use the cleaning cycle in Oct. 10. It burned out the circuit board and something else. It was under warranty and repaired. I was afraid to use it again, but tried it yesterday, 12/27/2011. It smelled horrible, knocked the power out of the oven, and the door will not unlock. Customer service was not very kind and said that I had to purchase a $269 warranty and they would send someone out. I did, unwillingly. Well see what happens on Friday. If this is not resolved, I will go further. This is a faulty part of the manufacturing and should be handled as so.

We purchased a top loading Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, Model #WTW8040
We purchased a top loading Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, Model #WTW8040DWO from Lowe’s on October 15, 2015. Since that time, we have had a service call on three separate occasions. The last service call, the service technician got Whirlpool on the phone with their technician. The washing machine would get stuck at 40 minutes and would continue to fill with water, drain and fill with water and would never progress. After the service technician talked with Whirlpool technician, it was explained the machines electronics were so sensitive that the washing machine had to be on an independent CIRCUIT (meaning absolutely nothing else can be plugged into the circuit). We contacted Whirlpool indicating that was not acceptable. Very few, if any houses, have a washing machine on an independent CIRCUIT. Whirlpools response - I have an independent circuit for every appliance in the house. Obviously, she does not know what a circuit is. Totally disgusted. Will NEVER buy another whirlpool product again. Horrible product and horrible customer service.

Having multiple apartments I have some experience with water heaters, with that being said, old school water heaters would last 30 years with basically no maintenance. Since those old, manual no BS flashing light codes were replaced with Whirlpool brand, I see constant problems. Honeywell valve/motherboards was the worst thing that could have been put on any equipment. More or less they all failed within few months past warranty expiration date. Replacement part is cost almost half of what brand new product costs. When called customer service, they are aware of said problem but will not help, or recall above product. There are plenty of videos and forums of people complaining about the same issue. Being poorly treated by customer service, I know that I will no longer be spending my money on whirlpool brand. 3 years off of the water heater is a joke.

I had the bearing go bad in the tub after a few years of service. It cost hundreds of dollars. As an engineer, I look at this and it is a design made to fail. The seal design is inferior compared to old washers that had a shaft seal made to be on a spinning shaft. This is a rubber lip seal that is going to wear because it is using washer as a very bad lubricant! When the seal goes bad, and it will, the water runs down to the bearings and destroys them, and you have the replace the whole tub as a $300 part!

My two-year old Whirlpool Duet Front Load washing machine is ripping my familys clothes. When I went online and saw all the other customers with the same issue, I contacted Whirlpool. Although the contact said that he knew I was frustrated, he could do nothing but send a repairman at a cost of $129 for me and then I would also have to pay for parts. I informed him that the online sites are saying that this is just a temporary fix. He pleaded ignorance and could offer me no other alternative. This is the last Whirlpool or Maytag product we will ever buy... and letting others know about the lack of cooperation.

Purchased this dishwasher in 2015. It has been horrible. The unit has never cleaned sufficiently on any cycle. I run the unit in the evening for the full cycle with heat. It takes almost 4 hours. The dishes are still soaking wet the next morning. We would be considered light use as a family of two. I hand wash any larger pans or cookware as the racks do not support anything of midrange weight or above. With the poor cleaning, I purchased a additional silverware rack and placed it more centrally to attempt better cleaning. It remains mediocre at best. The most recent irritation is the door latch has started pulling free from the unit and remains attached to the door! I have to take pliers and remove it from the door and reaffix it into the housing of the unit. Will never recommend this nor will I ever purchase anything from this company in the future. Sad to see the quality falter to the point of absolute failure.

We have had them for about 3 weeks now and now the display on the microwave just stop working. I just cant believe this. Its going to be a real pain now to remove this and replace it. Has anybody else had this problem and I wonder if its even covered under its warranty.

Pros: The refrigerator is large and roomy, easily adjustable glass shelving, and easy temperature controls for the refrigerator temperature and freezer temperature. Cons: the refrigerator is bulky and limits space in a small kitchen. The lower freezer door does not seal very well and requires frequent tweaking and adjusting around the door seal. Also, the freezer handle becomes loose easily and requires tightening fairly often -- which is a pain to get on the floor on your back (and a flashlight plus a special wrench) to tighten the handle.

Purchased Model # wtw5000DW0 Jan 3, 2015. Aug 15, 2015 started leaking water. Certified technician came to repair. Aug 17 - new transmission. Sept 3 replaced new transmission with another new transmission. Sept 8 called master technician at Whirlpool, needs new clutch assembly. Both technicians stated they dont know what is wrong with the machine. Sept 10 new clutch assembly and agitator replaced. The machine still makes a horrible grinding noise and is unusable. The technician has replaced everything but Whirlpool says it is still fixable. The Master technician has no idea what is wrong with my machine yet he refuses to call it broken. I have been without a washing machine for 3 1/2 weeks. They refuse to offer a return authorization number. I have spoken to a Supervisor on the phone. She states the warranty is for repair. They wont admit their product is a piece of garbage. They have lost a customer. She stated she will put my complaint in a file.

Cabrio Top Load Washer model WTW6800WW1 - Although we were very happy with
Cabrio Top Load Washer model WTW6800WW1 - Although we were very happy with the vendor where this was purchased and happy with the majority of the washer function; there is a problem with the cabinet & lid connectors rusting. Specifically, the lid connector on the left side totally rusted out, and also around the bleach cup, rust. There are also rust spots where the seam of the top section of the washer meets the bottom part. The washer was purchased in 2009. We have had it serviced in the past, prob 5 years ago, it needed a new motor and the rust was beginning to show then, while under warranty. I recently called Whirlpool and the associate told me that she had never received a call with regard to this type of problem. She did give me names and phone numbers of appliance repair in my area. I find it odd that Whirlpool would not make their associates aware of issues like this. I searched online and saw more than a few complaints about rust. So on it goes, no recourse, and as I read about the problem from others reporting this; it was mentioned that the vapors from the bleach cup etc, contribute to the rust. Additionally, even if it was under warranty, I was told that this is considered cosmetic and it would not be covered. Until... and I can only suppose, that until the lid possibly falls off while lifting, the cosmetic ruling may then turn into a function problem. Now there is also a squeaking sound, so off to call the appliance repair, check the cost and next time... buyer beware. I guess a lesson in science as well, hopefully this design flaw will be corrected for the next models in process.

I called Lowes and the Whirlpool and they offered to supply the parts. Repairman came out yesterday and said the refrigerator cant be fixed. Am now waiting for Whirlpool to call us back and tell us what recourse we have. Very disappointed. Fridge is now sitting unplugged in my kitchen. Will never buy another Whirlpool product again. I purchased my new Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer to replace a Maytag that had finally given out in the summer of 2012. I wish I did more due diligence, but with a toddler and a newborn, I needed a washer asap. I severely regret my $800 purchase from Sears. It is now February 2013 and the machine basically only runs on two cycles - Casual and Normal. All the others stop in mid-cycle. Sometimes, the items are still dry or partially wet so I need to switch to another cycle to complete the wash. This is not good for Delicates or when I wash Whites, Heavy Duty or Bulky items which is one of the reasons I purchased the model. The cycle stops when the items are soaked with massive amounts of water. So I then have to turn it to the Drain cycle and start over. After a day of washing one load, I couldve done it the old-fashioned way in my utility basin sink and hung it out to dry ... I dont have the time for this. I am going to make a formal complaint to Whirlpool and to Sears. I cannot keep spending nearly $1,000 for items that break within a year. These companies should be ashamed of their lack of quality. I shouldve gone with the Electrolux and just dealt with the price tag - I wouldve been much happier.

Whirlpool has been an absolute nightmare from day 1. We bought a brand new 50-gallon water heater from Lowes. It did not work. We went back to Lowes and were told to contact whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool and were told to conduct a number of test and all test passed, so they said we needed a plumber to come look at it. Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. Whirlpool took my money and didnt fix my problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

In October 2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Energy smart gas water heater with flame lock safety system.$509.00 I had it installed on 5/4/2009 by Westmoreland Affordable Plumbing, $218.00. On 10/15 called Whirlpool stating that the upper thermistor was coding as a failure. They sent me another one to replace it on 10/19/2009. On 10/19/2009, 1 and 1/2 hours later, the tank was coding a bad gas valve, called back and told Whirlpool what had happened and that I smelled gas. I shut off the gas to the water heater and waited for a valve replacement to arrive. On 10/21/2009 I had E.H. Plumbing to install the new gas valve to the water heater, $150.00. On 10/28/2009 the new gas valve went bad. I contacted Whirlpool and argued with them until I had them replace the hot water tank. With their approval I went to Lowes and tried to get the same water tank but they no longer sold that model anymore. I was given their equivalent to the one I had purchased earlier. I had it installed on 10/29/2009, $150.00. I now see a class action suit was filed against Whirlpool for the model in 2008. They were still selling this model after the lawsuit???? I spent $1027.00 for a $509 hot water tank and a lot a days without any hot water. I have all my receipts and returned codes for this transaction. Is it possible to get my $300.00 back (for two extra installations) as a result of this problem? I also kept the old gas valve thermostat.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and Dryer May 2017. First, this washer is SO LOUD! Honestly, NEVER had a washer that is this loud on the spin cycle. My second issue is, that when I wash my blacks, they have white splotches streaks on them. I use ALL clear and free liquid washer and Downy softener, so I stopped the softener, and still the white streaking. Ive since will use the additional rinse on during the wash, but still leaves white streaks. After 3 separate rinse cycles, no streaking. This leaves me thinking that with the lighter colored clothing, there is probably streaking as well, just can see it - my conclusion is that the clothes arent getting cleaned properly, or rinsed. Another issue is the dryer. First, takes longer than all my previous dryers, even the set 110 mins for towels on high, still takes longer. My washers are not packed tight with clothes either - its just my husband and myself - not a lot of washing. Also, I noticed a crack in the inside dryer/drum where it looks like the paint is chipping and cracked. I used some high heat touch up paint, and it did not help. Needless to say, what I thought was an good reputable product, turns out to be, not so good.

We purchased the washing machine on February 2, 2013 and initially noticed that some of the clothes were still dry when the complete load was over. Meaning that I am not saving water cost because I then have to rewash the clothes and pre-scrub the clothes. Then a little over a year later, the machine is making this extremely loud piercing noise when spinning. The cost to replace the part is $250.00+ the repairmans fee. Whirlpool says there is nothing they will do. From reading the other reviews, this is really sad because of the numerous people having the same issueS with a capital S. I definitely would support a class action suit.

The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. I bought a Whirlpool water heater in March, 2008. Last time (not sure if its last year or 2 years ago), I had an issue of the water not heating. They have someone came in to replace a part. Recently a humming sound (scary one) keeps on coming on from time to time. It took me some days to find where the sound is coming from, and there it is, my fairly new whirlpool water heater. They said it has something to do with the orifice. Since I am not a handyman, they recommended a service guy to come in, and I have to pay. I wonder how much more I have to spend on this heater? Yes Im saving gas consumption, but it will be spent for service anyway, and I have the added bonus of frustration. It is not worthy having it. I spent $1,400 for the heater and labor.

Seems to use very little water. When I take the clothes out, they are bone dry in places which means they havent even seen any water! Clean (?) clothes end up smelling musty and I end up having to wash them two or three times which completely goes against any eco argument! I am really disappointed with this product and would never buy Whirlpool again. I have just washed our dog blankets. The cycle finished so took them out, had to check that the detergent had been used as the blankets were almost completely dry. The blankets still completely smell of dog so have had to put them through another wash (with more detergent – waste of money) and with a pre-wash cycle. Rubbish! We also have a Whirlpool drier and that is no better. Washing never comes out completely dry. It always has to be fully aired, sometimes more than others. There is no consistency in how wet or dry the clothes come out. Avoid at all costs.

I purchased 4 Whirlpool appliances late 2014. The French door refrigerator close to a year later made a piercing sound several times during a day. I immediately contacted Whirlpool and the representative directed me to YouTube to listen to the normal sounds the refrigerator would make. My first thought was I have been a homeowner for 30 years and countless appliances and never heard such a horrible sound. At the same time they sold me an extended warranty over the phone. He assured me sounds were covered. The sound just kept getting louder and more frequent. I could not take this piercing sound and called back. They sent a local repair service. At the time the repair person came out the refrigerator was not making the sound. I played a video recording and the repairman even said what an terrible sound it was. He continued to check everything over and said - everything looks good. I dont know what the sound is coming from. I asked, What is Whirlpool going to do? He said, nothing, the warranty ran out and your extended warranty does not cover sounds. What a ripoff! Now the drawers broke and another thing they wont cover! I also have problems with the dishwasher I purchased at the same time. Even putting on the extended hot dry I need to wipe everything off. I should have just open a window a tossed out over 2k. The sound is so horrible I am being forced to junk the refrigerator and purchase a new one. Dont purchase Whirlpool and never purchase extended warranty over the phone.

Repaired panel 3x, then Lowes replaced stove, middle 2015. 6/26/2017 error message F2E1, control panel... stuck / shorted key. Out of warranty. Lowes and Whirlpool both claim no previous complaints. They will send repairman to assess problem, $150.

I am pleased with the steel tub, the ability to do an extra rinse and spin and especially the choices of water level that it determines by the size of the load. Its ability save water use. I would repurchase the top loader again. My clothes come out looking wonderful especially the whites and I do not use bleach. It does not get the mold or mildew odor that my last machine would get due to the rubber or plastic made tub. I love it.

We have had this washer for a year and the longest it has run before breaking down is 3 weeks. Since it takes longer than that to get a repairman out to look at it and another 2 to 4 weeks to get parts, it has run less than half of the time we have owned it. This thing is a hunk of junk. Dont ever consider purchasing one of these lemons.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave in 2005, model number MIX155XHPT-1 and serial number TR S 30 32419. At first the top vent broke then the opening side broke off. A few months ago our Whirlpool microwave just completely died. We had only been in our brand new home for about 18 months at the time, so I was very disappointed. I would have bought a different brand at that time, but didnt want it to look ridiculous, as it is mounted in the cabinet above the Whirlpool oven I was shocked to get a text from my wife a couple days ago, saying the same thing had happened to our oven. I thought that it must be a circuit breaker. My parents had Whirlpool appliances in my home growing up and we never had a problem with our oven. Well... I was wrong not a circuit breaker. The thing is just dead. Nice... Thanks Whirlpool! Thanks Century Communities for installing the absolute cheapest products in my home! Wonder what will be next? Probably the range top... Ill let you know.

We bought the WDF330PAHB1 Whirlpool Dishwasher from Lowes last year. It is a terrible dishwasher. It does not wash or dry the plastic dishes well and has a continued foul spoiled milk smell despite many cleanings with dishwasher cleaning tablets. I use Cascade and Finish rinse aid. My china and glassware are fine and it is a quiet unit but this gook I have to keep cleaning up is gross. I clean the removable filter and screen 2-3x a week but the stuff gets on and in every place it can cling to. Its a greasy, smelly muck. Its in both water jets, so I have to constantly remove them and bang the stuff out. We pre-rinse our dishes (which Ive never had to do before) but still this slime keeps building up. Do not buy this machine. I wish I could give mine back!

I purchased a new water heater in August 2013. The pilot light started going out in October/November of 2013. After calling the Tech Support phone number, (877) 817-6750, I was advised to clean the burner screen. First this is very difficult to do because the burner screen is underneath the water heater and almost impossible to access. Second the closet the water heater is in did not show any signs of debris that could clog the burner screen. I did as they recommended. Several calls, and several weeks later, they finally authorized a technician to come and service water heater. He performed a cleaning even though he couldnt find anything to clean; and he replaced the control module. The new control module worked through the spring and summer seasons and then I started having issues again in the fall, late October. Started calling the same phone number and was told again to clean the burner screen. I convinced them to send out the technician again. The A and E Factory technician came out and only cleaned the burner screen and left before I had a chance to get home. This happened several times and I called Whirlpool every time. The next A and E technician told me to try changing out the draft vent chimney to a different size, which I did. Problem happened Again! I finally asked for another plumber and they sent me 3 names of their authorized plumbers. I called Phil, Philco Plumbing. He told me that I needed to have more ventilation, so I added more ventilation, even though I later found documentation stating I already had more than what was required by the manufacturer. Again, a week later, started having problems. Call back and asked to have my personal plumber come out. This time the rep told me that I have always been free to choose any plumber I wish (why wasnt I given that option the first 10 times I called?). My plumber came out and replaced the control module and the thermocouple, but wasnt convinced that these were faulty parts, he honestly couldnt figure out why I am having this problem, but it was worth a try. That lasted about 1 week and now I am having the problem again!!Whirlpool will FINALLY authorize a new water heater, but they will not authorize installation for the new water heater. I have already spent money on recommended repairs that have not worked. I have taken 15+ hours off of work to watch plumbers do nothing that has rectified my problems. And now Whirlpool wants me to deal with installing the unit myself, OR pay to have it installed! They say they wont cover installation because I purchased it more than 1 year ago. They seem to be missing the fact that I have had trouble with it the ENTIRE time I have owned it!This Flame lock system is garbage. I found on Consumer Affairs that a few years ago a class-action lawsuit settled, dealing with the same issues. I think it is time for another round! I KNOW that I am not the only one dealing with this problem because the plumbers I had out all had similar complaints from many of their clients. Whirlpool wont fess up to the problem, but the problem is real.

6 years ago, we bought the refrigerator, the oven and the dishwasher. Theyre all Whirlpool appliances. With that, we took the 5 years guarantee extension for all those appliances. After 6 months, the electronic front panel of the oven jammed. The repairman knew what was the problem and had to change this panel. Then a month before the expiration of the guarantee extension, the refrigerator never stop running. I have to call them 3 times before they place a service call at the right place, very strange. Now, the auto-clean on the oven doesnt work. The very known E1-F5 error on the display and no solutions that work. In May 2010, I purchased a Whirlpool WFW9750WW front load washing machine. In October 2010, the machine started making a strange noise and by December 2010, the machine sounded like a jet airplane. I called Whirlpool warranty and they sent out the appliance doctor. They looked at it and said that the bearings were shot and needed an inner basket, outer basket and one other item. They would order it and come back in a week or so. We were told not to use our machine. Ten days later, I called to check repair status and they said that the items were on back order until late January. I called Whirlpool and after several conversations and going to the second level of supervisor over a week time frame, they finally located the part and shipped it. However, it was not until the end of January 2011 (seven weeks after my call for service) that the part arrived and was installed. The sound was never right after the repair. The appliance doctor came out and told me that all washers are loud. In December 2011, the jet airplane sound returned. I called Whirlpool but I was now out of warranty. Luckily, I bought the extended warranty through Lowes. They sent out Night Owl on February 9th 2012. They diagnosed the same problem with the bearings and said they would order the parts. I called Night Owl on February 17th to check on status and they said that the parts were ordered. I called to check status again today and now the parts are on back order (same as last time) until sometime in March. Night Owl turned claim over to check on getting the machine replaced rather than repaired. I was told that this would be another five days. Its amazing how there are no parts available. I was told the repair cost for this item is over $450 as it takes two repairmen about two to three hours to complete. Issue is still not resolved. I highly recommend not buying a similar washing machine. Whirlpools product, warranty and customer service suck.

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

Here is my TERRIBLE experience: After only eight months it started to fail intermittently. Within weeks, it failed completely. I pay someone to come out and look. We get a part from Whirlpool. Pay extra to express ship it. 2 days later, pay to have it installed. Still doesnt work. Express ship another part. 2 days later, pay again to have it installed. STILL doesnt work. Express ship ANOTHER part. 3 days later - it STILL DOESNT WORK!!!!! Then they closed - wait another day. Now they authorize a complete replacement. Wait till Monday to PAY to have this one uninstalled. Haul it upstairs, into my car, back to Lowes, so I can get a new one. Haul it home. Pay AGAIN to have it installed.I was without hot water for 10 days and paid about 4 time the cost of the heater in labor to get through this MESS. I talked with Customer Service to get some help with how terribly unfair this was. Warranty Only Covers parts - should have bought the extra warranty... Silly me - I thought Whirlpool was a reputable and reliable brand. Boy was I WRONG!!! DO NOT PAY EXTRA FOR THE NAME - NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! I also dont recommend paying extra for the Energy Efficient. Its added electronics that just give it more to go wrong. Plain and simple is the lesson for the day!!! And after the hours of frustration with their customer service - Ill NEVER buy another Whirlpool product as long as I live!!!

Oh my goodness, are these people right with the Whirlpool Ranges. I moved and put in the appliance # to get what I had from Whirlpool. What a piece of crap I got in a range and refrigerator. Never had appliances that looked so pathetic. You cant clean the outsides or the insides. Outsides nothing but streaks never look shiny, I really do doubt they are even close to Stainless steel. My old ones I might add were less than 5 years old when we sold our house and all you had to do was spray with Windex and shine shine shine. Try that on the new ones streak streak streak, and nothing ticks me off more than looking in a kitchen and looks like pigs are running all over your stuff. Then the range aqua lift self clean. You have gotta be kidding. No self clean about it. Scrub Scrub Scrub by hand. You mean who in the hell came up with this. Make something with fat and instant burned mess. Really oil and water or grease and water where I come from they never mixed, and all they do is get gummy. Now if you dont care how your oven or outsides look then I guess it doesnt matter BUT I DO, I am with the guy that said he just wants to throw it out. I would have been better off buying a clean your own. At least you could use oven cleaner. I dont know where these companies are coming from ripping people off this bad, now that I am older I am stuck with it and can hardly clean it to get down in there. You make supper and you have to spend 2 hours extra in the kitchen scrubbing the damn thing. Of course you give a company loyalty and get screwed this bad. All my self cleaning ovens I had when we sold houses the people thought you never cooked in them. This is not even a year and a half old and looks like it is 10 years old. Even scrubbing it is a joke. You cant get it all anyway. Im sure I will not live with this long. I use to love to cook even did it for a living and man using this thing I hate cooking more than ever.

I purchased the Whirlpool Duet June 2011. Within two weeks, it was tearing my clothes. It didnt matter how little of a load it was, they still ripped. Five months later, my machine was leaking water. The repair man came out. I told him it was also tearing my clothes. His only response was dont load it to full. Well, I called the store where I purchased it and they are sending a repair man out again. I told them to either fix this from ripping my clothes or I was going to take a hammer to the machine and never buy a Whirlpool again or give them a good reference. I also called Whirlpool directly and told them of my problem and they acted like they had never heard of this happening before. I have called numerous times to complain about my new Cabrio washer. The first thing the employee did at the service center was to send me an owners manual, which I did not receive when I purchased the washer at Lowes. I followed all of the washing recommendations and still had problems with soap being left on the clothes. I called again and they said that perhaps there was something wrong with the washer and they were going to send a service technician out. I told her that he would probably not find anything wrong with it. I was just very unhappy with the product. She told me that we should check it out and not to worry. It was still under warranty and Whirlpool was going to take care of the service call. The technician told me that they have received many complaints about the machine, but there were no fixes available at this time. Yesterday, I received a bill from the service company for $129.00. I called the service company and told them that Whirlpool should be billed for this, not me. She told me that I had to call Whirlpool and if they wouldnt take care of it, I would have to. I then called Whirlpool, only to be told by the customer service rep that since they didnt find anything wrong with the machine, there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to someone else and she let me talk to her supervisor. She pretty much repeated what I was told by the first person and it is in the owners contract. I told her that I wanted to cancel the extended warranty that I just mailed in this week and she gave me another phone number to call. I cannot express how unhappy I am with your customer service department; the lack of compassion your company displays; and how I was told one thing and then charged a fee. Whirlpool realized in 2002 that this was a defective part. In 2005, they recalled the product. I purchased the Hot Water Heater (Model # BFG1F4034T3NOV) in 2006. Being this product was recalled in 2005, why was it still being sold at Lowes and other stores? Why wasnt it pulled from the shelves? Why werent the parts replaced before being sold? The hot water heater stopped producing hot water. I contacted Whirlpool and they said the gas control valve had to be replaced; they gave me a part # and an authorization # and told me I could pick it up at Lowes. I asked about installation, because it is still under warranty. They said they dont service this. I picked up the part and tried to find a plumber to do the work and they said it was too small a job. I had to impose on friends to help me; one is a volunteer fireman. He came out and put on the new part and in doing so, another piece broke. We called Whirlpool and they said they had to replace the manifold door assembly. They overnighted the part. Again, I asked about them servicing this hot water heater and I told them I am a single parent and cant do this work. They said they dont service this item. I then had a handyman come out to try to fix it and he wasnt able to get it to work and now I smelled gas (it cost me $198). I had to call the gas company and they came and said there was a leak and turned it off and gave me a violation. I called the company I have an HVAC contract with and they added the hot water heater to that contract and it cost me $120 more for a year. They finally got it working, I was without hot water for a week. I do not recommend anyone buy products from this company. They are horrible to do business with and their service is awful (the service they dont offer).

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for
Let me start out by saying that I had a Whirlpool washer that lasted me for over 25 years and done a great job of washing my heavily soiled clothes. One day it refused to run and I tried to get parts for it but it had become obsolete and no parts were to be found for it, so I had to buy a new washer. I chose whirlpool again and let me say that it was a huge mistake. This model is a low water, high efficiency, top loading machine. It has nubs in the bottom that agitate to clean the clothes. The first time that I used the machine, I found that I had made a mistake purchasing this machine. It does not clean the clothes and there is NOTHING efficient about this machine. I have to run the washer twice to clean my clothes and they are still not clean. It leaves soap in the clothes and does not rinse them clean of the soap. What it does very well is extract water from the clothes during the spin cycle. This washer really turns up the high RPM`s on spin cycle. It has ripped apart several of my shirts during spin cycle. Whirlpool really failed badly on this machine. I see clearly now that Whirlpool is not the company that they used to be back in the 1980`s. I still have the whirlpool dryer that I bought back in the 1980`s and it still works very well. To end this story, I loaded up this NEW WASHER in the back of my truck and took it to the scrap yard and I asked them to destroy it in front of my eyes. I wished that I had recorded the destruction of this piece of JUNK and posted it on YouTube for the world to see. I got over $450.00 of pleasure watching the crane operator completely destroy this pile of crap. GREAT JOB WHIRLPOOL … YOU HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER FOREVER. I WILL NEVER BUY ANY OF YOUR PRODUCTS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE and will advise others not to buy Whirlpool products as well. I am a male, 62 years old and work hard for my ill spent money on your JUNK. Life is always a trial, live and learn the hard way. Warning to all consumers. Do not buy Whirlpool products ever!!!! It is just the two of us in our home and I bought Cascade packets 20ct x 5 at Sams. Im not even done with the packets, so I know 100% that we have run the dishwasher just 70 cycles in 18 months.

I have a new Whirlpool double convection oven which is very noisy. There is a rattle and pinging noise that occurs and the fan is also loud. Im not sure if it is an install or product issue. Can anyone comment on their convection oven? I dont believe this is normal. I am disappointed with my purchase and would opt for gas or basic electric. The double convection ovens were fairly pricey too.

I purchased a Whirlpool range from Lowes for $750.00. After 13 months, the digital circuit board went out and cost $580.00 to repair. I thought this was odd since the range was fairly new. The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again. So this must be the issue because that is the same problem that happened the first time. This must be a design flaw! The board cannot handle the heat generated in self-clean mode. Way to go Whirlpool, put the board near the oven door where it is subjected to extreme heat and melts!

It is the worst washer I could have purchased. It determines the amount of water you need. Our clothes never seem to be clean & its very noisy. It has no agitator & is supposed to save water. Even putting it on the longest cycle our clothes do not appear to be clean.

Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.

I have a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater, product #0733136, that was installed in 2010. The pilot has repeatedly gone out and had to be re-lit. After reading some of the comments, I am amazed that other people were told to verify gas supply with the gas company (done) and clean the air intake (done) and then to call customer service and be told to do the intake cleaning again (done professionally six days ago). I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance, and fortunately, I am in property management and can advise others to avoid this company as well. I am extremely disappointed in Lowes for not doing a better job of providing reliable choices for their customers especially after these many complaints over the years. I have decided to replace the water heater with another brand immediately.

Whirlpool Water Heater Purchased at Lowes - Like all the others I see on here. I Purchased a Whirlpool water heater at Lowes Model# BFG1H4040T3NOV. Pilot will not stay lit; customer service tells me to replace the thermocouple which did not solve my problem. This is the second time in 2 years same problem. First time it was fixed under warranty but now since it was replaced once it is not eligible for replacement so I now must decide if I want to pay someone to figure out the problem and I must pay to repair it or what I am starting to think is that I will likely junk it and buy a quality unit and be done with the games and run around and just have hot water, which is all I really want. I will never buy another Whirlpool product in my life and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

Design is made so you will need a repair man to clean filter. The machine has to be taken apart to get to filter. About one hour of your time. If youre not handy its a paid repair About $250 to $300. Also the valves that control the water into the washer failed after about 5 years. An easy fix part costs about $60. All appliances are designed to fail after the purchased extended warranty expires. More features more repairs. So if you arent going to use a feature get a simpler machine. More money does not mean better machine. Or that it will last longer. The days of an appliance lasting 10 to 20 years are over.

We bought a Whirlpool gas range about a year and half ago. The oven started giving lighting problems we had to light with a match every once in a while. Then the broiler igniter started giving same problems so I replaced the igniter, still did not work. Then I tried the control panel, still nothing. The igniters were about 45.00 each. The control panel was 250.00. Then I replaced the spark module and it is now working. Some models the spark module dont control oven and broiler but mine does. That was 200.00. The best thing was the part place I was ordering from would exchange the parts that you try and they also can answer questions either online or by phone, Appliancepartspros.com. I purchased a Cabrio washer and dryer in 2011 and sold it in 2012 for half the price. I was tired of my clothes not being cleaned. My husband and I work in an office environment so our clothes do not get real dirty. On the other hand, we do work around the house and garden. When I put black pants in the washer, then take them out, they look clean because the mud is still wet. When I take them out of the dryer, it is dry mud. I called the company and they said get someone in our area to come in and see if anything is wrong. Yep, they came in, charged me $150 and said that nothing is wrong; they cannot find one thing wrong. I used the washer for about another 6 months and thought, This is crazy! My towels, bedding, nothing is clean. I then sold it for half price and I am now using a totally different brand. I will never purchase a Whirlpool again!

I purchased a Cabrio top-loading high efficiency low water washer thinking I was doing something for the environment by saving on water and electricity. After about a month, I noticed that my clothes especially those with stretchable fabric were getting larger. My husband kept telling me I was imagining it. Then the clothes would get all tangled especially the pants with ties on the waistband. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are stuck on the sides of the washer and I have to pull them apart. Even after drying, I have to iron everything even my pillowcases which look like they have shrunk they are so wrinkled. I recently bought some 100% cotton outfits and they are even more wrinkled and are starting to lose their shape. I am now noticing that the stains on the clothing are not coming out even when I use a spot remover and put them through a second time. Now I started to notice an odor coming from the machine and my towels and wash clothes have a sour smell. I paid $600 for this machine and after reading the reviews, I just want to replace it. I am now waiting for it to break down. My husband kept insisting I must be doing something wrong. When it goes into the spin cycle, it bounces all around and I have to push it back in place when it is done. I do not think the clothes are getting rinsed enough so now I put them through a second rinse and always put it on low spin. It doesnt see to matter, it sounds like a rocket ready to take off. Is it even worth it to go back to Lowes where I buy all my appliances?

When purchasing a new home, the almost new Whirlpool double-door ice-dispensing stainless steel refrigerator came with the kitchen. This beautiful-looking fridge worked well for close to three years, but gave up the ghost shortly after its warranty expired; designed obsolescence perhaps? Problem was, it would have cost almost as much to repair as it would have to purchase a new fridge with a warranty. So, thats what I did, via a local big-box store. I bought a single door floor model, with the Whirlpool ending up as scrap, the whole incident leaving a bad taste in my mouth. If you have your grandmothers old fridge that still runs, keep it!

We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater
We moved into our house about 5 years ago. We didnt know how old the heater was so 2 years after moving in, we replaced it with a Whirlpool Electric Water Heater. (2009) Last August, (2 1/2 years after installation) we found our carpet soaked in the room adjacent to the water heater and discovered it had been leaking into my finished basement for who knows how long. We contacted Whirlpool and they said they would replace the heater but I had to pay for the install because it was over a year. Mind you I had just paid 300 bucks 2 1/2 years before to put that one in. So I paid another 300 bucks to have a plumber come out and install this one. I had extensive damage to my basement, rug, walls with mildew and possible mold from the water. I went through my homeowners insurance and had almost $5000.00 worth of damage. So about a week ago my husband calls me downstairs and guess what, my brand new rug that I had replaced 11 months ago due to a leaking Whirlpool Water Heater was soaked again. This heater, 11 months old, leaked yet again!!! Needless to say Im beside myself, especially when I call Whirlpool and they will replace it, again, but who the hell wants to have damage to their finished basement every year??? When I called and asked them to pay for the damage this time because I cant possibly put another claim in with my insurance in less than a year for the same thing, they just say that they will have the labor charges dismissed as a courtesy. As a courtesy??? I said its been less than a year so they owe me the labor charges; she said no that it goes by the original warranty from 2009. What??? Thats utterly ridiculous and how is it possible that they can get away with this. That has to be against some state statue or law, to use the previous warranty on a defective product. So now Im left with about $2000.00 worth of damages this time to my brand new refinished basement all at the hands of Whirlpool. I had to get another one of their heaters because they wouldnt even give me the money for the heater so I could buy a different kind. I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool product again and Id advise to anyone who will listen to spend a little extra to avoid this hassle!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer approximately 4 years ago thinking we were purchasing a top-of-the-line washer. The first year went great. I was very impressed with how it washed. My clothes came out cleaner than ever before; I loved it. But shortly after the warranty expired, one of the water pumps began leaking out all over the floor. We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!

We are constantly getting F codes and have to unplug the washer several times for it to reset. It also sounds like a plane getting ready to take off and from what I read that repair is very costly. It has been leaking as well. I contacted Whirlpool today and they informed me that there was no recall on the machine and when I told them that there were many complaints for the same issues online, they said they do not base their recalls on blogs and to fix the problem, I would have to incur the cost.
